- 0:58I cannot tell you the last time I had a night like that where it was just like, I'm done.
- 1:03Yeah. It don't happen often, but you know, when it do, I take advantage of it. Yeah.
- 1:10Facts. So what you want to get into today?
- 1:13So today we're going to do something a little different. Okay.
- 1:16We're going to do some back and forths on some questions. We're going to let
- 1:19the audience get to know us a little bit better get to know us yeah yeah all
- 1:23right this was a little difficult because in the beginning i spent the first
- 1:27three days of the topic thinking i already know everything about you already
- 1:32know everything about me and that's true i don't know what to say.
- 1:37That's so true but yeah yeah so
- 1:40we just you know we're gonna ask a couple questions you know and and we'll answer
- 1:44i'm sorry answer a couple questions and you know let you guys get to know us
- 1:48a little better yeah yeah yeah you know we try and keep it light-hearted you
- 1:53know we we do a couple of heavy topics so we try and do something light-hearted and fun you know in these,
- 1:59perilous times it's easy to just get bogged down
- 2:02in the negative headlines etc etc so
- 2:06so yeah we just we just gonna try and uh try and have some fun try and try and
- 2:10keep it light at least for a minute anyway yeah so you want you want me to ask
- 2:15the first question you want to ask the first question how you how you want to
- 2:17start bro it's your house you know all right i'm gonna ask the first question
- 2:21all right all right you ready i think so all right.
- 2:28At what age did you lose your virginity? And please name it.
- 2:31No, I'm kidding. I'm kidding.
- 2:37I'm totally kidding. That is not one of my questions. Boy, I can hit a phone
- 2:42call now. I know damn well.
- 2:45You didn't say my name on no podcast.
- 2:50Oh, man. I had to hit you with that. All right. No, I've been in trouble. Serious.
- 2:55Name your favorite athlete. And tell us why.
- 2:59Oh, man. All time or current? All time.
- 3:03It was Mike. Okay. And I think that, you know what? Let me take that back.
- 3:08I would say it's Mike. It's probably a tie between him and Peyton.
- 3:14And I'm probably. I know who you mean.
- 3:17Oh, Walter Peyton. Sorry. Thank you. Sorry.
- 3:20And I think most of that. And when you say Mike, you mean? Michael Jordan.
- 3:24Okay. Thank you. Yeah, there's only one Mike.
- 3:29But I think most of that is just because, I mean, we grew up watching it.
- 3:34Like, I think that, like, when I talk to the kids about, we talk about basketball, for example.
- 3:41Dude, did we miss any games Mike played?
- 3:44I don't think we ever missed a single game when Mike was in a Bulls uniform.
- 3:48It was must see TV it really was,
- 3:52even when they used to come on Fox and it was like a crappy broadcast yeah and
- 3:58as far as like football like you know we used to play the game over the top
- 4:02oh yeah you know I mean everybody was Peyton you know jumping over the top because
- 4:07my brother used to put us against the wall but,
- 4:12jumping over the top everybody wanted to be Peyton so yeah Yeah. All right. Cool. Yeah.
- 4:20How would you describe who you were 20 or 30 years ago compared to who you are today?
- 4:27Man, bro, get out of my head. That is absolutely one of my questions, bro.
- 4:34It's all good. So.
- 4:37Oh, wow. 20 years ago.
- 4:40Or 30, whichever one. I would say that I've learned how to be more patient,
- 4:47a more understanding of others' views.
- 4:51Probably not as hot-tempered as I used to be.
- 4:56And, you know, with age comes wisdom. So there's just a lot of things that I
- 5:00would get worked up about back in the day that now I just kind of be like,
- 5:04eh, it's kind of not a big deal.
- 5:05You know, I try and be more solution-oriented now as opposed to back then just being reactionary.
- 5:15And, you know, however I reacted was how I reacted.
- 5:18You know, I try and take a step back now and just sort of measure the whole
- 5:23situation so to speak so the reason i ask that question is because i had a conversation
- 5:28with one of the kids the other day and they uh,
- 5:31they asked something about the podcast and we got to talking about how we were back in the day.
- 5:38And i don't know if you remember this or not we had a party at the
- 5:41house when we first built the house there was
- 5:44somebody there that neither one of us knew it's my house and i
- 5:48remember you saying who is this you want to get him yeah
- 5:51i was like oh as tifty
- 5:54as that is yeah and then of course i found out like
- 5:56five minutes later who it was like oh shoot okay okay but yeah don't ever come
- 6:00in my house yeah not announcing yourself yeah yeah yeah yeah hey i i swear man
- 6:06that's one of my questions so i'm gonna just throw that back at you i'll have
- 6:10your views evolve since your 20s or 30s And not to just piggyback off of what you said,
- 6:16but I mean, it was anybody that knows me knows that, especially in my 20s, those quick temper.
- 6:21I think the only thing that saved me from my ass whooping every once in a while
- 6:24and getting punched in the face was how big my family was.
- 6:27And, you know, the fact that there was always people around me that would also
- 6:31stick up for me. I wasn't a fighter. I did run my mouth a lot. I did.
- 6:36But patience is absolutely something that is the number one thing that I think about.
- 6:45Like I'm just having the kids. Yeah. When the twins were born,
- 6:49I was an impatient individual.
- 6:51But when they were born and all the health issues and whatnot,
- 6:54it made me become a very patient person.
- 6:57Yeah. So if I still behave like I did back then, well, I'd be in a world of trouble. We both would.
- 7:05On everything. We both would, man. So, yeah. Yeah, that's what's up, man. Is it on me now?
- 7:12Or is it on you? No, I think it's on me. All right. So...
- 7:16What is one life lesson that shaped the way you see the world and how does it
- 7:21influence how you are on the podcast?
- 7:26Oh, that is a great question.
- 7:30I would say raising my children.
- 7:35I learned a lot from them.
- 7:38So they may not recognize it, they may not realize it, but just learning how
- 7:44to, again, react to certain situations instead of just being so charged up and why did you do this?
- 7:52Why did you do that? Maybe just take a step back and try and listen first.
- 7:56So that's probably the biggest is I learned how to listen.
- 8:02I learned how to be patient and learned that there's more than one way to accomplish a goal.
- 8:10Everything doesn't have to be my way.
- 8:13So that's probably like the biggest thing. So I'm still working on that for myself.
- 8:18Yeah. And I mean, it's it's it's an evolution, you know, and it is something
- 8:25that I recognize that I'm evolving every day.
- 8:28I'm trying to get better every day at it. So so that would that would that would
- 8:31probably be the biggest thing.
- 8:33And, yeah, I try and I hope that I'm making that clear about myself when we
- 8:38discuss random issues or whatever that I am trying to look at things from all angles,
- 8:44from all sides and not just trying to be focused on one particular issue or
- 8:50one particular solution.
- 8:51Now, there are some things that I am not flexible on.
- 8:56I said that in the Building Wakanda episode.
- 8:59That's just what it is. But there's not many, but there are a few.
- 9:04Let me see here. What is a pet peeve about yourself?
- 9:10A pet peeve that I have or a pet peeve that others have? A pet peeve that you
- 9:14have and you know that is something you need to work on, basically.
- 9:19Oh, man. Well, for one, I wear my emotions on my face no matter what.
- 9:25I've had people tell me that they didn't approach me because they thought I
- 9:29was mad. I was like, mad about what? I was just sitting there.
- 9:32Man, you look like you didn't want to be bothered. Well, I didn't. Right.
- 9:36But that ain't the point. You know, if you had something to say,
- 9:39you should have said something to me.
- 9:42So I would say that's something I know I need to work on.
- 9:45Of course, I didn't think I needed to work. Oh, and another one.
- 9:49I used to get told all the time how intense I was. You need to relax.
- 9:54It's all good. Just relax. You're too intense with the way you react to things.
- 9:59And I guess I never paid attention to it. But those things also need to look.
- 10:06I'm on number three, Pep P.
- 10:08I think the biggest one now, maybe it's because I'm getting older.
- 10:11I can't stand noise, man.
- 10:14Like TV too loud. I don't know if it's some sensory issues.
- 10:20It sets me off. Like it angers me. It's not to the point where I'd be like, hey, turn that TV down.
- 10:25It's like, turn that mother.
- 10:31And i know that's overreacting yeah yeah that's
- 10:34how it makes me feel right but no no i know now if you ask one of the kids that
- 10:39oh man they'll sit here and talk for three hours i'll never ask them that that
- 10:44it is that that shouldn't do that but see that's their pet peeve that's not sure Your pet pee.
- 10:53So that's why I'm like, no.
- 10:56But it's excellent that you're self-aware.
- 10:59Well, yeah. And you know those things about yourself. You didn't ask me that
- 11:0320 years ago. That's cool. I ain't got no pet pee.
- 11:05Exactly. No, I'm perfect. Exactly. Exactly. I would probably have said the same
- 11:10thing. Like, man, you tripping. What you talking about?
- 11:12Yeah, no, I'm good. Yeah. Everybody else is wrong. And I'm right.
- 11:15No, no, I feel that. All right. So here's one.
- 11:19What are you most excited about for your future, both personally and professionally?
- 11:27Personally, I am looking forward to God willing.
- 11:33I'm looking forward to growing old and retiring and see what that's like.
- 11:40You know, me and my wife be retired and just get up and go to breakfast every
- 11:45morning or decide to just take a walk around the community or something,
- 11:50you know, and just not have a responsibility.
- 11:52Well, I shouldn't say responsibility, but but basically just have the day to
- 11:56ourselves and just see what that's like.
- 11:58So I do look for that.
- 12:01I mean, I do want to see the granddaughter get older and see what she is like
- 12:07in her teenage years, et cetera, et cetera. professionally.
- 12:13I mean, gosh, retirement.
- 12:19I mean, let's just be real.
- 12:22I have no inspiration or aspiration to move up within the organization. I'm fine where I'm at.
- 12:31I've done the whole management thing. It's not for me.
- 12:35So yeah, I'm just looking forward to retirement, man. you know like i said lord
- 12:42willing that i make it to just be able to work until i retire and maintain my health and uh,
- 12:48You know, just like I said, given that we don't blow up, I mean,
- 12:52if we blow up and when I say we, I mean, for the fan podcast,
- 12:56then those are those goals may change.
- 12:59Well, no, those goals will change. Yeah.
- 13:02No. So. So, you know, that's that's sort of where I'm at. I'm totally settled
- 13:07in. I'm fine being just a worker bee.
- 13:10You know, I'm happy with that. this is my start time this is my leave time and
- 13:16when i'm done i'm done you don't call me,
- 13:19you don't email me you don't text me we'll pick
- 13:22up tomorrow i enjoy that my personal life is separate from my professional life
- 13:29and that's where i want to be at this stage in my life yeah i miss them days
- 13:33where i can just clock in and clock out yeah let that be it yeah yeah uh.
- 13:41What profession would you be in if given the chance to start over?
- 13:46I probably would have started early with some level of philanthropy, helping people.
- 13:53Because, I mean, you've heard me say a million times before,
- 13:56I think that ultimately I'm not doing what I'm supposed to be doing.
- 13:59What I'm supposed to be doing is helping people. And eventually I hope I retire
- 14:03or hell, just work until I can, until I can anymore, helping people,
- 14:09you know, donating, organizing, different things like that.
- 14:13But I would have gotten into that a lot earlier.
- 14:17And that probably would have been my entire career, just getting involved with
- 14:21organizations and helping people, rather be like recently the shutdown or natural
- 14:28disasters and so on and so forth. So that's noble. Yeah.
- 14:33Oh, I just had it. What's one piece of advice you'd give to your younger self and why?
- 14:39Financial advice. Be better with money.
- 14:44Don't buy those new rims and tires. You know, invest.
- 14:49But they look good on the view. Yeah, but so what?
- 14:52I mean, when I just think about how much money I've wasted over the years,
- 14:56that's the tip that I would. And not just tell my younger self,
- 15:00tell myself today to just be smarter with my money and make better decisions.
- 15:07Think about the future instead of just living for the present.
- 15:11That's that's the one piece of advice that I would absolutely give myself. Let me see here.
- 15:18Why did you decide to do this podcast?
- 15:22So for transparency, you've been getting on me about it.
- 15:27I can't remember who brought it up originally, but I remember it.
- 15:31You brought it up originally and then we sort of kicked it down the curve for a while.
- 15:35Yeah, and I think that it was one of those things where you were just kind of
- 15:39like, hey man, we're going to do this? Yeah, yeah, yeah, we're going to do it, we're going to do it.
- 15:45Hey man, we're going to do this? Yeah. Meanwhile,
- 15:48You text me, hey, new video up. Yeah. Because, you know, you got your YouTube
- 15:53channel with the videos you do. Yeah.
- 15:56And then I can't remember what made us end up doing it, but I was like,
- 16:00hey, let's just go ahead and do it. Like, what?
- 16:02Yeah. Yep. And then I ordered, you know, the microphones and just went from there.
- 16:07But I think it's one of those things where we don't have many outlets nowadays.
- 16:11Like, we're not around the crew that we grew up with as much.
- 16:15We're not hanging in those small groups. Right.
- 16:18It's it's it's pretty much i'm gonna say we don't
- 16:20have nobody to talk to but back in those days
- 16:23we'd hung around hung around a whole lot of people and got
- 16:27our views out whereas now you know you're older your views change you know just
- 16:32way to sit down and talk about uh different things so you're not in it for the
- 16:37money you're not doing this for fame or fortune no okay cool no i'd be i'd be much,
- 16:44happy if nobody knew what i look like hey that's real right there all right cool.
- 16:51What is it is my turn right it
- 16:53is yeah what's the dumbest thing you could think
- 16:56of that you did as a kid legally something
- 17:01legal man we don't
- 17:04have time for that that you didn't get in
- 17:06trouble for oh that i didn't get in
- 17:09trouble for oh my god see
- 17:13i feel like i got in trouble for everything oh now keep in mind people listening
- 17:17yeah i know we could probably do a three-hour podcast on stuff we ain't had
- 17:22no business getting into especially between the ages of what 16 to 20 that is a hell of a question,
- 17:31Gosh, man, that's a really good one, bro, because like I said,
- 17:35I feel like I've done so much dumb stuff.
- 17:39Oh, man. Like something you may have done at the house and lied about and your
- 17:43pops really didn't come down on you.
- 17:47No, like I said, I feel like I got caught a lot.
- 17:52He came down on me for a lot of stuff.
- 17:56I would say probably cutting class, junior year.
- 18:01I cut class a whole lot. You did? Yeah. See, you don't even know.
- 18:09I cut like junior year, bro, after lunch.
- 18:15Well, hell, we didn't have really school. Our junior senior year,
- 18:17we really wasn't in school often.
- 18:20So after lunch, bro, I would just, we would go to, I ain't going to say his
- 18:25name, but we. Yeah, yeah, I know.
- 18:26I need to talk about it. Yeah, we go to his crib and we just hang out.
- 18:29We go to the park shoot some ball we just yeah we just uh we just go look up at his crib,
- 18:36and senior year bro like i had
- 18:39to have a meeting with miss warner now they were not
- 18:42gonna let me back in how the hell
- 18:45did i miss all this because i didn't tell anybody i didn't tell anybody that
- 18:49yeah but yeah bro i had i had to have a meeting me and my parents had to have
- 18:53a meeting with miss winter now senior year because they were not going to let
- 18:57me back in school bro i cut class that much junior year bro especially like
- 19:02after winter and it started to get nice.
- 19:05After lunch it was like man i'm out of here i was about i
- 19:08know that's how it was what that last three weeks of school yeah we
- 19:11were never in school those last three weeks yeah so so yeah that like i said
- 19:16i got caught and said i don't i don't feel like it was a lot that i didn't uh
- 19:20get caught doing but that was probably the dumbest thing that I did I mean because
- 19:25that's time that I couldn't get back you know and,
- 19:30Once that, it messed up the graduation schedule coming because we still graduated
- 19:34on time. We still went to school half a year, senior year. Right.
- 19:38But still, I could have used that energy into doing something else.
- 19:44You know what I'm saying?
- 19:44And for those listening, it's not like he was cutting class and didn't have
- 19:48good grades. He had good grades. Yes.
- 19:51Which is exactly what Ms. Warner said. And she told me that she should whoop me.
- 19:58Well I mean the fact that hell everybody we all those administrators knew everybody
- 20:06they knew our parents they knew our aunts our uncles they knew everybody yeah,
- 20:12you couldn't do nothing man you couldn't get away with it that was Lord knows
- 20:15I know I couldn't that was a that was that was that was tough bro cause you
- 20:20know you think you getting away with it uh huh and then you get that letter and you like damn,
- 20:26I gotta.
- 20:27I can hear. I gotta tell this one. I can hear.
- 20:33I'm not BSing. I can hear your father's voice in my head right now. Come here. Yeah.
- 20:43I know where you've been. I know where you at. Yeah. Okay. Alright.
- 20:48Yeah. That was the dumbest, man.
- 20:52That's a great question, bro. Oh my goodness, man. Damn, that took me down memory lane.
- 20:57All right. I got a couple of light ones. Let's finish up light. All right.
- 21:01What's your favorite genre of podcast, which I already know this answer,
- 21:05but I'll let you tell the truth. Oh, True Crime. Yeah. Why?
- 21:10I guess just something about.
- 21:12That's intriguing to get inside people's heads, you know, which obviously you
- 21:18really can't get inside some of these folks heads because it makes you wonder.
- 21:21You think you hear some of these stories and you see some of these cases like,
- 21:27you know, a husband kills a wife, wife kills a husband or husband gets caught
- 21:3240 years later for randomly raping and murdering somebody.
- 21:36Think to yourself, look at the life you're living. Got a good job. Got a good family.
- 21:42Kids are involved in sports. Kids are straight A students. But then one night
- 21:46you randomly, before your kids were born, decided you were going to rape and kill.
- 21:52It's just intriguing to me, to the story of why people do some of the things that they do.
- 21:59But it's, yeah, obviously it's, I'll sit around and watch true crime documentaries
- 22:03all day, all night and not miss a beat.
- 22:06All right, cool, cool. That's what's up. I think one more for you and then one more for me.
- 22:11I'll go a lighthearted one Considering I know your food choices If you had to
- 22:16eat one food for the rest of your life No health consequences at all What's your pick and why?
- 22:23No health consequence? Zero health consequences,
- 22:27Can I have two things or just one? Hey. Cheesecake or either peanut butter cookies.
- 22:33I love cheesecake. I love peanut butter cookies. So one or the other.
- 22:41That's all day, every day. You know what? I take that back.
- 22:46Peanut butter cookies first and then cheesecake. I love me some peanut butter cookies, man.
- 22:51Love them. Love them. That is my weakness, bro. That's my kryptonite.
- 22:55See, for me, it's oatmeal raisin. Oatmeal raisin cookies? Man. Man.
- 23:00Love them. Peanut butter cookies, bro.
- 23:02As much as I try and be health conscious, bro, you slap some peanut butter cookies
- 23:06in front of me. Yeah, it's protein, though, man. Give me one. Give me two.
- 23:11But the thing is, is there's recipes out there where you can make them where
- 23:14they're just full of protein.
- 23:15But, you know, I've tried, like, the organic peanut butter. It's nasty. Yeah.
- 23:21And then, like, the grease just builds up. So you got to stir it and stir it
- 23:27and stir it and just like, yeah, no, just give me some Jeff or something like
- 23:30I'll sacrifice because I can't I can't I can't do that.
- 23:35I don't have time to sit here and stir this for five minutes every time I want
- 23:39to use some peanut butter spray.
- 23:40Like you said, it's thick, too. If you ain't got no good spoon. Yeah. Yeah. Spoon.
- 23:45Yeah. All of that. All of that. So, yeah. All right. And my last one is sort
- 23:49of sort of the same. But are you a cake or pie guy?
- 23:53Cake. Cake all day. Yeah. Yeah, me too.
- 23:56So, like, I like sweet potato pie. Mm-hmm.
- 24:01Depends on who make it, though. Yeah, yeah. Sweet potato pie and apple pie.
- 24:04Apple pie is my favorite. Mm-hmm. It just always has been.
- 24:06A lot of that stuff I didn't eat because of just being picky.
- 24:11Mm-hmm. And, you know, growing up.
- 24:14You know, well, my ex-wife used to call me the golden child because,
- 24:18you know, my mother would make chili.
- 24:21She picked the beans out for me. Woo!
- 24:27Yeah. Yeah. Is it chili at that point?
- 24:31No, it's just meat and sauce and oyster crackers. Oh, wow. It's funny,
- 24:35though, because I don't like beans separately.
- 24:40But nowadays, it don't even bother me because I'm like, I can't even taste them.
- 24:44Just eat them yeah yeah i feel you but yeah man yeah
- 24:47yeah yeah i'm i'm definitely more of
- 24:50a cake guy too all right cool so i i
- 24:53hope you guys got a little bit of uh insight into us and getting to know us
- 24:58a little bit better like i said we we purposely did not get into personal questions
- 25:04or getting anything too deep i guess those are maybe conversations we could
- 25:09have at another time if necessary.
- 25:12So with that, we're going to move into some current events. What you got, brother?
- 25:18You want me to go ahead? You know what? I do have one thing.
- 25:21I didn't write anything down, but it's something I saw earlier today,
- 25:24and I don't know the full details of it.
- 25:26But are you familiar with Moon downtown, the restaurant, like club, like event center?
- 25:34The only thing I can think of is Howl at the Moon, but you're not talking about
- 25:38that. No, I'm not talking about that.
- 25:41They've been there in that location downtown for about two and a half years
- 25:44but they had their application for renewal of their liquor license,
- 25:49yeah the city's not going to give it back to them and if you look at the article
- 25:55you realize that they're not giving it back to them, now they say it's because of fights,
- 25:59because of this because of that but then you find out when you do a little bit digger deeping.
- 26:08Digger deeping. I got you. You know what I'm saying.
- 26:12I got you. You dig a little deeper. Yes, I got you. Boy, oh boy.
- 26:17You realize that the businesses that surround it ganged up to make sure that
- 26:21they didn't get their liquor license renewed.
- 26:23All the businesses around them didn't want it. But then if you look at the comments,
- 26:27you see it's kind of like a double-edged sword.
- 26:30There's a new hotel where it is, and the hotel apparently is connected to it.
- 26:36They don't want them to get it renewed.
- 26:37Because of, you know, past police calls and so on and so forth.
- 26:42Last time I checked, what was the place that closed down a couple of years?
- 26:46Was it Tiki Bob's? Tiki Bob. Wasn't the police always there too? Always.
- 26:50Okay. That's my current event. All right. I'm going to stay local also with my current event.
- 26:58And I'm going to bounce around to a few different topics. But I just want to
- 27:05say congratulations to those senators who refused to do the redistricting here in Indiana.
- 27:14Was it like six Republican senators decided that they didn't want to do it?
- 27:19So hats off to them. And I will say that ever since they decided not to do the
- 27:26redistricting and the pedo in chief has been making posts about them.
- 27:31All of them have been swatted over like the last two weeks or so. Death threats.
- 27:39Death threats. Yeah, even Mike Brown himself has received death threats just
- 27:43because they did the right thing.
- 27:46I hope that these guys recognize now.
- 27:52That it's not about being right or wrong. It's about loyalty.
- 27:58This whole administration, both administrations, is not about doing what's right
- 28:05for the American people. It's about loyalty. If you're unloyal to him or disloyal
- 28:11to him, you are a piece of shit.
- 28:14I hope these guys are really starting to recognize that at this stage of the
- 28:19game. Maybe a little too late, but at least you can recognize it better late than never.
- 28:26The other thing I want to talk about, and these things both have made national
- 28:31news, and I'm very proud that they are getting national news,
- 28:35that the cleaning lady that was killed.
- 28:37I seen that story on Good Morning America the other day. I'm very happy that
- 28:42that made national news.
- 28:44Very, very happy that the guy finally got arrested, even though it took too long, in my opinion.
- 28:49But they did arrest him. So I'm happy about that. Happy that that story is getting
- 28:54some national attention.
- 28:55It deserves it. And I'm also happy that the pregnant couple in Crown Point,
- 29:02who was refused service and she ended up having her baby on the road.
- 29:10So that story is also getting national attention.
- 29:14Thank God that she was able to deliver that baby and the baby is healthy.
- 29:19But for those who are not aware, a black couple went to the hospital in Crown Point.
- 29:26She was in labor. They told her she was too soon. She wasn't dilated enough, et cetera, et cetera.
- 29:34Basically asked her to leave the hospital, told her that she was not going to have the baby.
- 29:40Ten minutes later, she ended up having the baby on the side of the road.
- 29:44Now, the doctor has since been fired and so has the nurse.
- 29:49And that is fantastic. But just glad that those stories are getting national
- 29:56attention. But, you know, usually things happen in Indiana unless it's huge,
- 30:00it doesn't get national news.
- 30:02So I'm just happy that those stories are making national news and hopefully
- 30:07we can get more eyes here because the more attention these stories get,
- 30:12maybe it will start to change the way that this state operates.
- 30:16So those are those are those are my current events.
- 30:20And now it's time for everyone's favorite, a rant, a rant about a random topic.
- 30:28Got a rant, brother? I do.
- 30:31See, I got two. I want to piggyback off what you said. Two things with your current events.
- 30:38That young lady was at the hospital for six hours. Six hours. And never saw a doctor.
- 30:44That's why the doctor was fired, because the doctor never came in to check,
- 30:47even see. And apparently she had given birth at that hospital once before. Oh, wow.
- 30:53Yeah. So she was in the registry. Yeah. So she's I mean, she's not a first time mother.
- 30:58She knows her body and she's like, hey, I'm about to have this baby to something
- 31:02that I'm not sure if you saw was updated this morning.
- 31:05That man bonded out of jail. Oh, I seen that. Thirty five grand.
- 31:10Thirty five thousand dollars. But here here's my my my random topic.
- 31:14I brought this up to you last week.
- 31:17When did we started giving a damn about politicians outside of our local jurisdiction?
- 31:26It seems like when we were growing up from your favorite rapper to your favorite
- 31:29actors, none of them cared for whether you were Democrat, Republican, it didn't matter.
- 31:35We were all about the local politicians because we saw local politicians all
- 31:39the time when we grew up. where we grew up is not that big, but it just seems
- 31:45like, and I'm guilty of it too.
- 31:47We find ourselves being so ingrained with some of these politicians expecting
- 31:53something to be different than what it was 25 or 30 years ago.
- 31:57I don't agree with the, oh, they're the same, blah, blah, blah.
- 32:02I don't agree with that because you do have some people putting forth.
- 32:06Plans or lack of plans that completely go against half of the country.
- 32:12But then you have the other half putting together plans that want to help everybody.
- 32:21People putting together plans that want to help everyone, but then not having
- 32:25the heart to do what's necessary to push these plans through.
- 32:30That all brings me to Marjorie Taylor-Bray. Keep going. So you can dish it out, but you can't take it.
- 32:40You've been interrupting State of the Union addresses. Three times you interrupted
- 32:46the State of the Union address.
- 32:47You have called people all types of names. You behaved erratically.
- 32:55You've done all types of things. The second that you say something that makes
- 33:00sense for the first time in your adult life. Right.
- 33:03And I actually find myself thinking to myself, I can't believe I agree with
- 33:08her. Within 24 hours, you're getting death threats.
- 33:12So then you're like, you know what? Yeah, this is too much for me.
- 33:16Let me go ahead and step down. So you announce that you're resigning.
- 33:20And then when we do a little bit of math, we think to ourselves,
- 33:23January 5th. Oh, why January 5th?
- 33:27Is it significant with January 6th? Are you doing it because of this? No, here's why.
- 33:32Because right around that time, she becomes eligible for lifetime health insurance
- 33:36and a God bless it pension plan.
- 33:39And it for the money. Because if you're resigning, just go ahead,
- 33:43resign, and go back to the people who voted for you.
- 33:46Which, by the way, everybody, and I've mentioned this to you before,
- 33:49no one who received 6,842 votes should be allowed to make policies for anybody
- 33:59in this country. Well, outside of where they live.
- 34:03You shouldn't be able to put forth these plans that are going to affect somebody
- 34:07in Portland, Oregon, or Seattle, Washington.
- 34:11And you only received 6,000 votes.
- 34:15No, that's true. Some people tend to think that she's setting herself up for
- 34:20a run once Trump's turn. Maybe around the park or something. No, no, no, no.
- 34:25They think that she's going to try and run for president.
- 34:29Don't shoot the messenger. Don't shoot the messenger.
- 34:32That's what a lot of people tend to think is that she's setting herself up for
- 34:36a run at the president. No, she'll never get elected.
- 34:39But you know what the sad thing is?
- 34:42A lot of her beliefs, you and I probably feel the same way she does.
- 34:46But it goes back to what you said. It's about loyalty.
- 34:50They push all their beliefs to the side. Right. Because it becomes about loyalty.
- 34:54Because there's no way they believe half this nonsense, they say. Right.
- 34:57So when she, like the stuff she's saying now, this is how she actually feels. I don't know, bro.
- 35:03I kind of feel like it's all a ploy. I really do.
- 35:09I hope she just goes away. No. I agree.
- 35:13She should just go away. I don't know how you can be so gunk ho about something
- 35:18and then just do a complete 180 on the drop of a hat.
- 35:23I mean, I talk about a come to Jesus moment.
- 35:26I know. I think you still harbor those same crazy beliefs, but you're being
- 35:32a political opportunist.
- 35:34This is what I really think is she's being a political opportunist and,
- 35:39to quote Mississippi Burning the rattlesnakes are starting to hang themselves,
- 35:45and I think she's just seeing the writing on the wall and she's like let me
- 35:49try and save face that's what I think personally I don't think,
- 35:55She should get any more attention than she's been getting. Okay, great. Go sit down.
- 35:59Yeah, yeah, for sure. Yeah. Goodbye. Yeah. No, you're not getting any interviews.
- 36:03No, you're not getting any time. You're not getting on my platform.
- 36:06Okay, great. Thank you. Go sit down. I really don't care. But you know what'll end up happening?
- 36:11All these democratic platforms. For sure. Will reach out to me.
- 36:15For sure. Let's talk to her. For sure.
- 36:17How about no? How about hell no? Go on about your business. Yes. Yes. Yes.
- 36:24Because. Come by y'all attitude. Come on in, y'all, everybody,
- 36:29because we got the big tent man.
- 36:31Knock it off with that silly. And then if you do let her in and she burn y'all,
- 36:36then you're going to be looking foolish.
- 36:38Remember Megan Kelly? Right. Came to MSNBC? Right. You and I were like, what?
- 36:45Right. She ain't changed. Right. These fools are opportunistic and that's all she is.
- 36:51Go away. I'm sorry, but I can't.
- 36:54I can forgive you. I can't forget.
- 36:57So I don't care enough to forgive. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Go over there with that.
- 37:03OK, you feel different. Cool.
- 37:05Prove it. In 10 years, if you still feel the same way, maybe then I can rock with you.
- 37:10But for now, it's way too recent for me to say, yeah, you can come on in. I'm a rock with you now.
- 37:15Too soon. Too soon. Can't trust you. Can't trust you.
- 37:19Can't trust J.D. Vance. Can't trust the flip floppers, which is why,
- 37:23like in the mob movies and stuff like it's like the worst thing you could
- 37:26be is the snitch or or like rat yeah yeah
- 37:29can't trust them can't trust the undercovers you get one chance yeah that's
- 37:34it that's that's it i want to talk about flesh tones for my work you know what
- 37:41flesh tones are so on my youtube channel i got a couple of short videos talking
- 37:47about subliminal racism,
- 37:49Fleshtones has got to be one of the most subliminal racist things in the history of the United States.
- 37:57I know they've tried to correct this recently.
- 38:01But until recent, which is probably what, four or five years ago,
- 38:05until then, flesh tones, one color.
- 38:09And that color never matched the black people.
- 38:13How in the hell can you call something flesh tone? It's one color.
- 38:18All white people not even the same color no it's just
- 38:22like so so what do we have i mean because ain't no flesh tone for us you had
- 38:28those flesh tone band-aids or whatever whatever it's like this shit don't match
- 38:32my flesh what why is this called flesh tone and when a lot of folks found out
- 38:35about them well if we did this it would be racist you already do it right you already do it Yeah.
- 38:42Yeah. I was just sitting there thinking like, man, why in the world did we ever
- 38:48accept flesh tones as a quote unquote color?
- 38:52It was racist from the start. It should have never, ever been allowed to call something flesh tones.
- 38:58And it came in one particular color.
- 39:03That's my work. Y'all anything else you want to add, bro?
- 39:06All right, cool. Now we're going to move on to five on the black hand side.
- 39:13And we are going to talk about Black Dynamite.
- 39:18The movie starring Michael Jai White, Tommy Davidson.
- 39:23Kim Whitley, Sally Richardson-Whitfield, and a host of cameos that if you pay attention, you'll see.
- 39:33All right, take it away, my brother. So I rewatched it again this morning.
- 39:39And I can honestly say, man, I probably laughed like out of,
- 39:43what is it, 90 minutes? I probably laughed about 75 minutes because it was so
- 39:48many things in the movie where you sit back and you think to yourself.
- 39:53This ain't nothing but a throwback to the blaxploitation. For sure. The acting.
- 39:57For sure. Everything. For sure. Was all the same. Like when he went to that orphanage. Yes.
- 40:03And I had to pause it. When he went to the orphanage and he like had the flashback
- 40:08and Sally Richardson was looking off in the distance like, what the hell is going on? Yeah.
- 40:12And then the dude was like, you got something? Like I need my fix.
- 40:15Yeah. These kids was like eight years old talking about they need their fix.
- 40:19Walked up hitting his arm, bro.
- 40:20Oh, no. That's when she went and grabbed me. Like you stop it.
- 40:23He was hitting his arm there before van.
- 40:25Oh, man. Dude, I love when they were having the big bar fight.
- 40:31And they're doing all the play fighting. And dude slapped him for real.
- 40:35Oh, he said, motherfucker. And he stopped and said, motherfucker.
- 40:39But hold up. Hold up. The fact that he slapped him, it phased out,
- 40:45came back in. And it was a light-skinned dude.
- 40:48I was like, wait a minute. What happened to the dude? you he was
- 40:50so mad that they had to stand in come in
- 40:53and finish the scene oh man bro
- 40:57because look he was punching the hell out of him yeah the second he open hand
- 41:01slapped it yeah wait a minute now you're across the line yeah man that movie
- 41:06is so funny man trying to think the whole chili and donuts which was a uh a
- 41:12joke about chicken and waffles chicken and waffles yeah,
- 41:16I'm trying to think. Do you see us? Yeah. We need two hot dogs.
- 41:20Yeah. Two times down the middle.
- 41:22Fry bologna. Smoosh it. Yeah. Fry that. Can we get some service in this mother?
- 41:30But no, the equations to get to Little Richard. Yeah. I'm using air quotations.
- 41:38But it's funny because when you first watch it, obviously it starts with that Anaconda commercial.
- 41:44Right. And then as it goes along, when they break in the warehouse and pop it
- 41:47open and got all that, and they're like, well, let's find the drugs.
- 41:50Yeah. And I'm laughing because I'm like, the drugs is right there. Yeah.
- 41:54Oh, boy, just grab a 40. Yeah. And it was a twist cap. It was a twist cap. And he popped it. Yeah.
- 42:00Like it was a, like it wasn't. Yeah.
- 42:03Yeah. So many jokes in the movie, man. Gosh, I'm trying to think some of them
- 42:08cameos became Woodbine.
- 42:11Evil Dave Chappelle. Yeah, when they were having like the pimp meeting.
- 42:15I can dig it. I can't. Yeah.
- 42:19Brian McKnight is one of the pimps when they having the pimp meeting.
- 42:23That's John Sally. John Sally is one of them, too. You know what his name was?
- 42:28Kotex. Straight up. But no, bro. Brian McKnight is one of them and John Sally is one of them, bro.
- 42:35And of course, man, Arsenio Hall's name was Tasty Free. Yep.
- 42:39Arsenio. So many cameos in this movie. Just an all-around good movie.
- 42:44Definitely a spoof of the Blaxploitation.
- 42:47Black Dynamite is supposed to be like a Shaft character. Tommy Davis is supposed to be like the Mac.
- 42:53His boy Bullhorn that got killed is supposed to be like Dolomite.
- 42:59Yeah, he's supposed to be like Dolomite.
- 43:03Yeah, just just just a good movie. I'm guessing Kim Whitley is supposed to be
- 43:06like almost like a Foxy Brown type character.
- 43:10If I had to compare her like like maybe like a Della Reese and Harlem Nights.
- 43:14Yeah. You know, the keeper of the house and whatnot.
- 43:17Two things. The funniest two parts of the movie to me.
- 43:21One, no, no particular order. When he was talking to Sally Richardson,
- 43:25when they were standing next to Kim Whitley, he was like, you bet your ass and
- 43:28your half titty that something she looked down like what?
- 43:33What did you say?
- 43:35In the beginning, when he was with, what was his name? O'Leary.
- 43:39Yeah. And that fool was like, I still remember like it was yesterday.
- 43:44He was talking about Vietnam, but he kept referencing Chinese people.
- 43:48Yeah. I'm just sitting here like, oh, my God.
- 43:51He was talking about the little boy. Yeah.
- 43:54Dude, I love the scene where the boom microphone, you can clearly see the boom
- 43:59microphone, and he keeps looking up at the microphone like, Do y'all see the
- 44:02damn microphone in the cut? I love that part.
- 44:07And when the one dude get killed, man, I'm going to start me a family.
- 44:12Oh, yeah. I'm going to give you a job. You got killed.
- 44:17And he was like, who saw that shit coming? I mean.
- 44:23Or what they called the White House, which I won't say. Yeah.
- 44:28Man, they pulled up. He was like, there it is. The blank house.
- 44:32The other scene that always gets me When your boy Man I can't call his name
- 44:39He had that brief talk show,
- 44:42a minute. I can't call when they went to get the weapons and he was telling
- 44:47them something and he was like, I'm blacker than any black so-and-so you can be.
- 44:53Oh, he was the one in Lowdown Dirty Shining with the tickets.
- 44:58Yeah, he gave them expired tickets. Yeah, for some reason I can't call his name
- 45:01and he was like, and next time you hear Grownful talking, I suggest you just shut the F up.
- 45:06I'm sorry. He walked up and said, I'm sorry.
- 45:10Hey, I'm sorry. So many good scenes, man.
- 45:14Let me tell Sal A. Richardson, you can hit the sheets of the streets.
- 45:17It don't make me know Nevermind. Yeah. You can leave or you can come.
- 45:26Oh, man. So many good scenes in that movie.
- 45:32So I think we've already given it away that we're going to rate this thing pretty high. Yeah.
- 45:39Great, great movie. Yeah. Black Dynamite is five on the black hand side.
- 45:45Five high fives for sure. Yes, sir.
- 45:48All right. Cool, cool, cool. And with that, it's time for the closing monologue.
- 45:54Take it away, my brother.
- 45:55All right. So today is going to be brief. I didn't really write anything down.
- 45:59I'm just going to speak on something I mentioned a little earlier in the podcast.
- 46:03This holiday season, we're supposed to be boycotting. I don't know the dates.
- 46:08I don't know the times. I boycott every year.
- 46:11But this holiday season, take your money, put it towards a local shelter,
- 46:16find you an organization, find you a family to sponsor, find a bill to pay,
- 46:21go talk to your local church pastor, go talk to local community organizers.
- 46:26Somebody needs their light bill paid. Somebody needs a kitchen full of groceries.
- 46:30Somebody just needs a few dollars.
- 46:32Somebody needs a tank full of gas to get to and from work. If you're not.
- 46:37If this shutdown has shown me anything, it's that there are a lot of heartless
- 46:41assholes that run this country.
- 46:44There are a lot of people who are middle class, who behave like they're billionaires
- 46:50and that they are better.
- 46:51There's videos going around social media, people dancing inside of Costco or
- 46:57BJ's Wholesale Club or Sam's Club, doing the Diddy dance.
- 47:02Talking about when my paycheck hit and I don't have to depend on EBT.
- 47:06You know what I mean? Just stupid shit like that. There are plenty of times
- 47:11where you may need snap benefits.
- 47:14You never know. If you lose your job, snap benefits are there for you to get
- 47:18on, even if it's for a month or two. They are there to help.
- 47:22So this holiday season, quit buying your kids what they already have.
- 47:26You have seven TVs in your damn house. You don't need another one just because
- 47:30Walmart or Target put one on sale. So you want to, you got a 55,
- 47:34but you want a 60 because they put it on sale for $288.
- 47:39You know with $288, how many families that could feed this holiday season?
- 47:44Go buy some turkeys. You want to spend $288? Go spend $288 on some turkeys and hand them out.
- 47:51Stop blowing your money. Sorry about the language, everybody.
- 47:55Stop blowing your money on bullshit.
- 47:57Start reaching out to your neighbors. Start reaching out to the local community
- 48:01and help people for a damn change.
- 48:04I agree wholeheartedly. Latasha Brown is organizing the boycott.
- 48:11Just to add a little context to that, Latasha Brown, you can Google it,
- 48:15look it up. But I think it's supposed to be like a four day boycott from Black
- 48:20Friday all the way up through Cyber Tuesday that she does not.
- 48:25Excuse me. The boycott is for us to not spend with any major corporations.
- 48:30But I think she highlighted four in particular, and I can't name the four off the top of my head.
- 48:36So, yeah, just just Google Latasha Brown and you can get the details.
- 48:41But good closing, my lord, brother.
- 48:44I agree with you 100 percent. Like I've said plenty of times,
- 48:48I don't celebrate holidays anymore.
- 48:50So, yeah, I'm with you. Take that money. Do something useful with it besides
