- 0:12Hello friends, it's shown here it is another Friday.
- 0:17You have reached the end of the week.
- 0:19Congratulations. We are going to do together what
- 0:22we do every Friday, which is read another song together.
- 0:26And this one, well, it's of significance because this is
- 0:30actually the same sum. 116 was the text that was preached on
- 0:36and the very first Christian service held in Australia on
- 0:41Australian soil. That's right.
- 0:42When the First Fleet arrived with those convicts, the
- 0:46Reverend Richard Johnson also stepped off that boat because he
- 0:50was there to look after those people.
- 0:51What legend good on your Reverend Johnson?
- 0:55And there he was in February 3, 1788.
- 0:59What a cracker. So you might not be convicts,
- 1:03and I might not be the first Reverend in Australia, but
- 1:07together today, friends, we are going to once again read through
- 1:12this Sum together some 116. I love the Lord because he hears
- 1:27my voice and my prayer for mercy because he bends down to listen.
- 1:34I will pray as long as I have breath.
- 1:37Death wrapped its ropes around me.
- 1:40The terrors of the grave overtook me.
- 1:43I saw only trouble and sorrow. Then I called on the name of the
- 1:48Lord. Please, Lord, save me how kind
- 1:52the Lord is, how good he is, so merciful.
- 1:57This God of ours, the Lord, protects those of childlike
- 2:01faith. I was facing death, and He saved
- 2:05me. Let my soul be at rest again,
- 2:08for the Lord has been good to me.
- 2:11He has saved me from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from
- 2:16stumbling. And so I walk in the Lord's
- 2:19presence as I live here on earth, I believe in you, So I
- 2:24said. I'm deeply troubled, Lord, in my
- 2:28anxiety, I cried out to you. These people are all liars.
- 2:34What can Ioffer the Lord for all He has done for me?
- 2:38I will lift up the cup of salvation and praise the Lord's
- 2:42name for saving me. I will keep my promise to the
- 2:46Lord and the presence of all His people.
- 2:50The Lord cares deeply when His loved ones die.
- 2:54I'll Lord I am your servant. Yes, I am your servant.
- 2:58Born into your household. You have freed me from my
- 3:02chains. I will offer you a sacrifice of
- 3:05Thanksgiving and call on the name of the Lord.
- 3:09I will fulfil my vows to the Lord in the presence of all his
- 3:13people, in the House of the Lord in the heart of Jerusalem.
- 3:18Praise the Lord, ah Lord.
- 3:31It does not matter what the context of our lives are,
- 3:36whether we are bound by chains of suffering or debt or
- 3:41incarceration or persecution, because you have set us free.
- 3:49You have claimed our soul, you have freed us, You have wiped us
- 3:53clean. And it is in your freedom that
- 3:57you invite us to live in your Kingdom here on earth, and then
- 4:02forever in bliss with you in paradise.
- 4:07Ah, thank you. That you free us.
- 4:09That those chains are forever broken and no longer holding our
- 4:14souls in captivity. You are a merciful, loving God
- 4:20who gave up everything so that we could be free, so that we
- 4:26could be able to come close to you, our holy and perfect and
- 4:30loving Father. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for
- 4:34continuing to remind us of that. Thank you, Jesus, for freeing
- 4:39us. And thank you, Father, for
- 4:41opening your arms and welcoming us into your family.
- 4:46We pray all of this in the sacrifice of Jesus.
- 4:51Ah man.
