- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on, uh uh, I sure will.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Good morning everybody you are listening to the voice, Come on,
- 0:08Speaker 2: dig me now, one and all that. Steve Harvey got
- 0:11Speaker 2: a radio show particular me this morning. Steve Harvey got
- 0:17Speaker 2: a radio show filled with nothing but joy and hope
- 0:22Speaker 2: about it too. You know, it's a great thing to
- 0:24Speaker 2: be able to wake up in the morning with peace
- 0:27Speaker 2: in your heart and joy. Peace and joy is is immeasurable.
- 0:33Speaker 2: It has a value attached to it, and I have
- 0:35Speaker 2: no idea what it is. It's invaluable. It is worth
- 0:39Speaker 2: so much more than any amount of money you can make.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Peace and joy I have not always had that. I've
- 0:48Speaker 2: not always been a peaceful person or a person who
- 0:52Speaker 2: lived his life and enjoy spirit.
- 0:56Speaker 1: It took an arrival at this moment. Some people arrive
- 0:59Speaker 1: sooner than I wish I had arrived at this point sooner.
- 1:05Speaker 1: But I think it was necessary for me to learn
- 1:08Speaker 1: a few things too. That's the amazing thing I've learned
- 1:12Speaker 1: about life is that instead of reflecting on your past
- 1:19Speaker 1: incidences and calling them failures, instead of focusing on the
- 1:23Speaker 1: negative and calling them bad times, I look at them
- 1:28Speaker 1: now as experiences. I had to have those experiences that
- 1:33Speaker 1: were negative, that were good, positive, wrong, evil. I had
- 1:38Speaker 1: to have all those experiences to become to shape who
- 1:45Speaker 1: we are today. We all have to have them. If
- 1:48Speaker 1: you look back at all the negative experiences you've had,
- 1:52Speaker 1: all the things that you called failures, all the businesses
- 1:56Speaker 1: I started that went under, all of the jobs I
- 1:59Speaker 1: had that I was it from, all the shows that
- 2:02Speaker 1: were canceled, all of the times I thought I was
- 2:06Speaker 1: gonna get something happened in my way and turned out
- 2:08Speaker 1: I didn't get it at all. When you look at
- 2:10Speaker 1: all of it, all of it, hopefully along the way,
- 2:15Speaker 1: what you have done as a person is you've taken
- 2:17Speaker 1: those negatives and those failures and you've used them for
- 2:22Speaker 1: what they actually are. They are experiences, and they've now
- 2:27Speaker 1: created in you an experienced person, and you know that
- 2:33Speaker 1: is worth something. That's then it becomes a positive. But
- 2:38Speaker 1: what too many people do is they let the negative
- 2:41Speaker 1: things that have happened in their life, They allow the
- 2:44Speaker 1: failures that have happened in them lives never to manifest
- 2:47Speaker 1: themselves as experiences. And you sit up there and you
- 2:51Speaker 1: dwell on it, and you dwell on it until you
- 2:54Speaker 1: have this woe is me attitude. Stop looking at it
- 2:57Speaker 1: like that. Y'all, you go through things in order to
- 3:01Speaker 1: become the person that you are today. I tell you
- 3:04Speaker 1: who you sometimes have to sit down and talk to.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Sometimes you ought to sit down to an inmate that
- 3:09Speaker 1: really gets it, an inmate.
- 3:11Speaker 2: That says, man.
- 3:13Speaker 1: I've actually heard inmates say it to me and write
- 3:15Speaker 1: to me, and they've said things like, man, come into prison,
- 3:20Speaker 1: save my life. Now, those of you have never got
- 3:22Speaker 1: how can he say a thing like that? But some men, no, Man,
- 3:26Speaker 1: I was so far out there that if I'd have
- 3:29Speaker 1: stayed out there, I wouldn't even be here today. This
- 3:31Speaker 1: actually allowed me to stop, spend some time with myself
- 3:35Speaker 1: and learn some things about me. Now does that happen
- 3:38Speaker 1: for everybody like that and all? But here's a person
- 3:41Speaker 1: who has taking an experience that could be considered a
- 3:43Speaker 1: failure or negative and turning it into a positive and
- 3:47Speaker 1: using it to enrich their lives. You can do it
- 3:50Speaker 1: no matter what your set of circumstances is. I recommend
- 3:53Speaker 1: to everybody that you try changing your outlook in order
- 3:57Speaker 1: to change your outcome. Everything that has happens to you
- 4:00Speaker 1: that's negative or you consider failure their experiences. You've got
- 4:04Speaker 1: to go through these things in order to have the
- 4:06Speaker 1: knowledge that you have today. So I wish that I
- 4:09Speaker 1: had come to this arrival that I'm in now, this
- 4:12Speaker 1: place of peace and joy. But then guess what, I
- 4:15Speaker 1: will not know what I know. I cannot share some
- 4:19Speaker 1: of the things that I'm able to share if I
- 4:21Speaker 1: had not gone through some of them. And sometimes that's
- 4:24Speaker 1: the purpose of them. It's to teach you a lesson
- 4:26Speaker 1: because you know, God has a plan for you. He
- 4:28Speaker 1: really really does. And eventually he can use you no
- 4:32Speaker 1: matter how old you are, and he can use you
- 4:35Speaker 1: no matter how young you are. If you just say, Okay,
- 4:38Speaker 1: I'm ready to hear your plan. I've tried mine. Mine
- 4:41Speaker 1: ain't worked out. What's your plan for me? God, what
- 4:45Speaker 1: do you want me to do? That's why I say
- 4:47Speaker 1: every day Steve already got radio show, y'all. Couse, Man,
- 4:50Speaker 1: I ain't see it coming. I didn't see that coming.
- 4:53Speaker 1: I ain't see this book coming. I ain't I ain't
- 4:55Speaker 1: seen half of the amazing things that are happened to me.
- 4:58Speaker 1: I didn't plan them. I was sitting there, man, asking
- 5:02Speaker 1: God for some direction. And then I got smart enough
- 5:06Speaker 1: to stay watchful, be a hard worker. Now because faithful
- 5:09Speaker 1: our works is dead, and it came. And I'll remind
- 5:12Speaker 1: you of this. God has given all of you a gift.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Every last one of you listening has a gift. God
- 5:18Speaker 1: has never created a soul that He did not provide
- 5:21Speaker 1: a gift to. God gives everyone a gift, and a
- 5:25Speaker 1: gift is not just singing, rapping entertainment. The richer gifts
- 5:30Speaker 1: are much more than that. Teachers are gifted people who
- 5:33Speaker 1: really have the gift of sharing information. That's a gift,
- 5:38Speaker 1: you know, and in that you can become great. You know,
- 5:45Speaker 1: a lot of people think that successful and greatness is
- 5:48Speaker 1: the same thing. Cornell West said it at my daughter's graduation.
- 5:52Speaker 1: He was a spokesperson. He said something so pointed. He said,
- 5:55Speaker 1: don't ever confuse success with greatness. The two have nothing
- 5:59Speaker 1: to do with each other. See, people determine success about
- 6:03Speaker 1: money and fame and all this here, but greatness. Greatness
- 6:07Speaker 1: ain't got nothing to do with your money. It ain't
- 6:09Speaker 1: got nothing to do with your fame. It's how you
- 6:11Speaker 1: conduct your life. It's how meaningful and significant you become
- 6:16Speaker 1: in your community, at your church, on your job, to
- 6:20Speaker 1: the Cubs Scout unit that you run to the little
- 6:22Speaker 1: girl's lives, that you change that that little center in
- 6:25Speaker 1: the hood where you just one place of hope to
- 6:28Speaker 1: so many people and they come back. And I used
- 6:31Speaker 1: the example of Lou Dazzler who passed away in LA
- 6:34Speaker 1: who had the Boys and Girls Challenges Club out in
- 6:36Speaker 1: LA And he wasn't a rich man at all, and
- 6:39Speaker 1: if you walk by him, you wouldn't even know who
- 6:41Speaker 1: he was. But if you look at all the people
- 6:43Speaker 1: who have gone on to become politicians, who have gone
- 6:47Speaker 1: on to become CEOs, who have gone on to become athletes,
- 6:50Speaker 1: that have passed through this man's small building in the
- 6:53Speaker 1: hood in LA, he was great. Trust me, man. Prayer
- 6:59Speaker 1: changes things said all the time. But when you see
- 7:01Speaker 1: people become successful or great that somebody praying somewhere may
- 7:05Speaker 1: not even be them. Maybe it's they. Mama. You know,
- 7:08Speaker 1: I think of Tiger Woods and all the greatness he's accomplished.
- 7:11Speaker 1: You know, they always talk about his father and all this.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Here somebody somewhere praying for Tiger Woods. I got cash
- 7:18Speaker 1: money riding on that Tiger Woods. Mama is a praying
- 7:21Speaker 1: woman or something. My mother was. She prayed me into
- 7:24Speaker 1: this place because she used to call me all the
- 7:26Speaker 1: time praying for you, boy, and prayer changes things. It
- 7:30Speaker 1: really does. Try it today. It can change you. It
- 7:34Speaker 1: has changed millions of people. Open up yourself to the
- 7:37Speaker 1: greatness that's in you, because God is giving you a
- 7:40Speaker 1: gift matter fact that you ain't using it. Who fought
- 7:43Speaker 1: you think that is? I'm just telling you you got
- 7:46Speaker 1: one and if you start praying about it, it'll manifest
- 7:50Speaker 1: itself and you can become one or two things, successful
- 7:54Speaker 1: or great or both. You can make the decision. Today.
- 8:00Speaker 2: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
