- 0:00OK, there's a couple of stories that I want to go through.
- 0:02The first one, first story straight up, I'm going to
- 0:05apologize. I have to show you a picture.
- 0:07It's going to be, it's a bit confronting this picture, but as
- 0:11soon as you open the article, unfortunately this picture comes
- 0:14up. I don't know why they put
- 0:15something like this right at the start of the article.
- 0:18It's my, it's not a pretty, it's not a pretty picture that's at
- 0:21all. It's a little confronting.
- 0:23So I do apologize right now, but I have to go through these two
- 0:26stories. So this is the first one.
- 0:32The red light. On I'm just waiting.
- 0:34For the change. OK, so the first story 0
- 0:39firearms bans issued under landmark Queensland gun laws.
- 0:44Again, I'm very sorry for this photo, this picture, but this is
- 0:47what the Courier man put up with.
- 0:49But so, you know, if you don't want to have a look at this
- 0:53shocking, shocking photo, turn away now.
- 0:59There it is, Shane Breyer, the face of Shane Breyer.
- 1:03I don't know why they put that up there anyway.
- 1:07Queensland Police have not have not handed out a single firearm
- 1:11prohibition on order five months after legislation barring high
- 1:16risk individuals from accessing guns came into effect, with
- 1:20officers claiming the laws are unworkable.
- 1:24The landmark laws passed by the former Labour government mid
- 1:282024 and commencing in August 2025, was set to improve public
- 1:32safety by barring individuals like high risk domestic violence
- 1:37offenders, those involved in organized crime and terrorists.
- 1:42They were also designed to help reduce the number of illegal
- 1:44firearms in the community and give police this.
- 1:48This is the important section, the important part in my mind,
- 1:52OK, with all this legislation, there's always these extra
- 1:55powers that come up. We, we just have to bring, we
- 1:57have to bring these laws in. We have to make it safer.
- 1:59Remember, it's for your safety, for your protection.
- 2:02That's what it's all about. Oh, and we're going to add this
- 2:05in, too. It also gives police powers to
- 2:07search the homes or cars of someone with an order for
- 2:12illicit weapons at random without a search warrant,
- 2:17without a search warrant. Because the police, or let's put
- 2:21it this way, the government just always wants to.
- 2:24Always wants to you know, wants to intrude on on our privacy.
- 2:29So anything anything that can that can give them further
- 2:33powers. So give them further excuses to
- 2:36search people's property without search warrants, without
- 2:39something else, without some other kind of barrier they will
- 2:42take it they'll bring in these laws on the side, but it's all
- 2:45for your safety for your protection.
- 2:47OK, so the Courier Mail can reveal police have yet to issue
- 2:50an FPO since the law was commenced.
- 2:53Police Police sources said there were just one officer, one
- 2:58officer in the unit responsible for implementing the legislation
- 3:02who was also still working in their substantive role.
- 3:04Well that, that sounds logical, doesn't it?
- 3:07They said officers supported this the scheme, but enforcing
- 3:10legislation was unworkable and overly overly onerous compared
- 3:15to other states like NSW and Victoria.
- 3:18The Career Male also understands officers have been given,
- 3:21haven't been given any training on the scheme.
- 3:25Queensland Police Union president Shane Pryor, that was
- 3:28his, that was his face right there.
- 3:30Shane Pryor, what's he got to say about all this?
- 3:32He's called for an urgent review of the legislation.
- 3:35That's what he always does. The Queensland Police Union
- 3:38supports the application of firearm Protection Orders as
- 3:43another valuable tool in ensuring the safest possible
- 3:46workplace for officers operating in an increasingly violent and
- 3:50unpredictable environment, he said.
- 3:53The fact that zero orders have been issued in Queensland while
- 3:56hundreds have been activated by police in in other Australian
- 4:00states suggests A systemic failure that leaves our
- 4:03frontline unnecessarily exposed. Inaction reeks of bureaucratic
- 4:09inertia, lack of training and poor resourcing, he said.
- 4:13Police will not accept paper tiger laws, the QPU, so the
- 4:17union calls for an urgent review to eliminate the bottleneck that
- 4:21is that is stifling the use of this law, he said.
- 4:24If there this is an interesting line, if there's a senior
- 4:28officer inhibiting its use, then the Police commissioner needs to
- 4:32take decisive action. So just going from that line, it
- 4:36would seem that there may be maybe something else going on in
- 4:39the background, maybe there's another senior officer who's
- 4:42inhibiting their use, the use of this law.
- 4:45Otherwise why would you say something like this if it wasn't
- 4:48actually happening? It's a little strange.
- 4:51I think Queensland was one of the last states to introduce the
- 4:54scheme and the lack of issued Fpos compared to NSW handing out
- 4:58124 Fpos in the first month of legislation in Victoria handing
- 5:03out 560 Fpos in the first year and you say poor?
- 5:07Wow. Queensland data up until 20th.
- 5:11Can I talk properly? Come on Jay.
- 5:13Queensland data up until September the 30th last year
- 5:16showed there had been 395 guns stolen, with 65 of those found.
- 5:22I think I've said this before when I was in generals, when I
- 5:25was in generals, every week you'd get a notice, you know,
- 5:29such and such place that had been been a robbery.
- 5:32There'd been guns taken out of the gun safe.
- 5:34It's like just a weekly occurrence.
- 5:36This amount of guns taken there are besides the besides the guns
- 5:40that are stolen, there's so many guns brought into the country as
- 5:43well. And then you have these laws
- 5:45which is just focused on people. And it's not that I'm
- 5:49necessarily against these laws, but they're they're all focused
- 5:52on people who are trying to get guns legally, you know, and it
- 5:56just encroaches on people who are trying to do the right
- 6:00thing, in my opinion. It's just people who are trying
- 6:02to do the right thing, go about things the right way.
- 6:06They're the ones who are always who are always punished without
- 6:11dealing with the real problem. So Opposition police spokesman
- 6:15Glenn Butcher said it was disappointing that there had not
- 6:18been a single FPO issued under the scheme.
- 6:20We make no apologies for wanting to keep guns away from bikies,
- 6:23terrorists and high risk domestic violence thugs, he
- 6:26said. Tough words.
- 6:29We stand ready to work with the government to strengthen gun
- 6:32control as recommended by the QLD coroner.
- 6:35It comes as a state government continues to review and identify
- 6:38potential changes to Queensland gun laws in the wake of the
- 6:42Bondi massacre. Because as we all know, it's the
- 6:47gun laws, it's the gun laws that caused all those issues, it's
- 6:50the gun. So forget about the fact that
- 6:52those terrorists, the people that follow a certain religious
- 6:56ideology and it, I refer to it as religious ideology.
- 7:00I actually, in my opinion, it's actually more of a political
- 7:03ideology with some, with some religious overtones that that's
- 7:08what it is. It is a political and lifestyle
- 7:12system. That's what it is.
- 7:13It will rule your whole life from politics all the way
- 7:17through. Everything in your life is ruled
- 7:19by this ideology. And the people that follow this
- 7:22ideology had also made bombs. But all they're doing, all the
- 7:26governments are doing is focus on weapons, weapons and people
- 7:31who want who, who would, who want to own guns legally.
- 7:36That's, that's all they're focused on.
- 7:38And no one is addressing the elephant in the room.
- 7:41No one is addressing the people, the people who would come and
- 7:46follow the hatred in the, in the ideal ideology.
- 7:51And look, not everyone who follows this political,
- 7:53religious system hates no one. Not everyone who follows this
- 7:59belief system wants to kill these people, wants to kill
- 8:03other people. Okay, there are a lot of a lot
- 8:05of meant a lot of very nice, warm, loving people in that
- 8:11group. But the fact is the government
- 8:13let a lot of people and didn't do proper, let a lot of people
- 8:16into the country and didn't do proper background checks, didn't
- 8:20keep an eye on what their true beliefs are.
- 8:24Let people in from let's say Gaza, for instance, and didn't
- 8:27bother checking about, hey, you know, maybe there's an issue.
- 8:30We won't bother doing proper background checks.
- 8:32But you know, we'll go and meet them at the gate and shake
- 8:34everyone's hand and say welcome, welcome.
- 8:38Well, we've allowed this problem to come in and now all the
- 8:41government is just ignoring the bigger issue and they're just
- 8:43focusing on clamping down on your everyday citizen who would
- 8:47like to have a gun. Whatever.
- 8:50I don't have a gun. I will probably never, never buy
- 8:53a gun. It doesn't.
- 8:54It doesn't interest me. I've fired lots of guns
- 8:56obviously before, doesn't particularly interest me that
- 8:58much anymore. But they're ignoring the real
- 9:02issue and just trying to it. As I've said, I said in previous
- 9:07podcasts, they use the crisis to clamp down to to take away
- 9:11freedoms to to. They use the crisis to take away
- 9:17the freedoms of everyday people. It just continues to encroach on
- 9:21everyone else's freedoms. But they ignore the actual
- 9:24issues going on. But hi, that's what our
- 9:27government does. And then they always package it
- 9:30in. Well, this is for your piece,
- 9:32for your safety. We're just trying to protect
- 9:34you, the everyday citizen. That's why we need to take away
- 9:38your freedoms and treat you all like idiots.
- 9:41But anyway, Shane Pryor there having his little thing, his
- 9:44little, his little say about all that, I think there, there must
- 9:47be a lot more to it. And that's why he's, he's
- 9:50referencing some other mysterious senior officer who
- 9:53seems to be inhibiting, inhibiting these, this piece of
- 9:56legislation being actually utilized within the QPS.
- 9:59That's what it seems like anyway.
- 10:01The second story we want to get over.
- 10:03We want to get onto this. OK.
- 10:06The second story that I want to get onto in Queensland Police
- 10:09News, police officer charged Rd. Policing and Regional Support
- 10:13Command. When I first read the story,
- 10:15because it's like a 59 year old male Sergeant and I'd read that
- 10:20he was charged with drink driving.
- 10:21I first read it, I thought, oh man, unlucky break.
- 10:24You poor fellow, you've gone, you've made a stupid decision,
- 10:27you've got one year to go before you're forced retirement and QPS
- 10:30and you've gone and made this and you know, put a right smudge
- 10:34against your name doing something really stupid that you
- 10:37should have known better. And then I read further and I
- 10:39realized he was from Rd. policing, so he's a traffic
- 10:41police officer. And then all my pity went out
- 10:43the door. It's just like whatever.
- 10:47So a 59 year old Sergeant from the Road Policing and Regional
- 10:50Support Command has been served with a notice to appear in
- 10:53relation to alleged drink driving.
- 10:55Really. Seriously, he this lad's been in
- 10:58the job for a long time, should know better.
- 11:01And he would have charged mate, you probably wouldn't it.
- 11:06If he's worked in in Rd. policing for any serious amount
- 11:09of time he would have charged countless amounts of people with
- 11:13drink driving and then he's gone and done something like this.
- 11:15This is stupidity, I'm sorry. This is just absolutely
- 11:19reckless. The members being charged with
- 11:21driving whilst over the general alcohol limits allegedly
- 11:25committed while off duty. The officer has been stood down
- 11:28from QPS and is expected to appear in the Cleveland
- 11:31Magistrates Court on 12th of January.
- 11:33So when was that? That was yesterday.
- 11:37In keeping with our commitment to low standards of behaviour or
- 11:40transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the
- 11:43public when a member of the service faces serious
- 11:45allegations of misconduct and just absolute silly, silly,
- 11:50silly behaviour. Seriously.
- 11:52Rd. police in command, drink driving.
- 11:55That is absolutely, absolutely ridiculous.
- 12:01Absolutely someone with your experience, someone with this
- 12:06fellow's experience and the fact that he works within Rd. police
- 12:10in command and you know, pulling people up for their driving
- 12:14behaviour, charging people, drink driving with just bread
- 12:18and butter for those guys. And then he goes and makes
- 12:20exactly the same careless error. Absolutely ridiculous.
- 12:25It'll be interesting to see what actually happens.
- 12:28Comes with that anyway just throw that in there as well.
- 12:31Listen, let me know what you think about these these gun laws
- 12:35here in Queensland again, is this just used you know to
- 12:40enforce more more control upon everyday citizens.
- 12:43Is that what you think? Obviously, I think there's just,
- 12:46they're using the, the crisis just to bring down more laws
- 12:49just to insert and force more control upon everyday citizens.
- 12:55And I, I don't think it's really warranted.
- 12:57And I think they're actually ignoring the real causes, the
- 13:00actual issues that we have in our society.
- 13:03They're ignoring all that. And politicians are ignoring
- 13:06their own behaviour, the own the the things that they've done
- 13:10over the last couple of years, which have actually actually
- 13:15fanned the flames of hatred within our own nation.
- 13:19Politicians, maybe not the current Liberal government here
- 13:22in Queensland, but but governments, politicians in
- 13:26Australia have actually fanned the flames.
- 13:27They've actually helped the hatred burn within Australia.
- 13:32So a lot of them need to take a good hard look at themselves and
- 13:36maybe bring in some legislation which you know, puts the car
- 13:40Bosch on some of their behaviour.
- 13:41Anyway, let me know what you think.
- 13:43I'm Jay Fallon. Thanks for listening.
- 13:47It will take me higher. I'm on fire because nothing's
- 13:53going to bring me down. Nothing's going to be down.
- 14:03Nothing's going to stop me now. No one deals to be done.
- 14:08Nothing 's going to stop me now, and nothing's going to.
- 14:18Hold me. Down got my eye on the eyes got
- 14:20my sign on the drives, it seems no sign.
- 14:22Nothing's going to things go down, doubt me, let nothing's
- 14:31going to stop me now. No, no, no, no.
- 14:36It's going to be uncle myself and now my soul just to focus on
- 14:39the goal. And nothing's going to stop me
- 14:42now, and nothing's going to hold me.
