- 0:04Speaker 1: That's still the rism between the lighter sound must go
- 0:10Speaker 1: here you breathe and feel.
- 0:13Speaker 2: The pass and the grum hottest beam.
- 0:18Speaker 1: So you can't do that, Jenny, I'm Nick.
- 0:22Speaker 3: I'm the drama from the Swiss German band ad in Finitem.
- 0:25Speaker 3: I'm twenty nine years old. Of that is of any interest.
- 0:29Speaker 3: We're band. We've been around since twenty eighteen, twenty nineteen,
- 0:33Speaker 3: and with our first album coming on in twenty twenty
- 0:35Speaker 3: right in Pandemic, and we've been a little productive since
- 0:39Speaker 3: then and now in October twenty twenty four or fourth
- 0:44Speaker 3: studio album is coming out called EBIs via Napalm Records.
- 0:47Speaker 3: As the previous ones, we're very good partnership with them,
- 0:51Speaker 3: and yeah, we cannot wait to deliver this product to
- 0:56Speaker 3: all of you people and share this piece of music
- 0:59Speaker 3: with you and then as well play it live at
- 1:02Speaker 3: least in Europe and the US and what she did
- 1:06Speaker 3: not yet in Australia, but hopefully we will see you
- 1:09Speaker 3: there one time.
- 1:11Speaker 4: Very good mother, thanks for joining listen. It's a pleasure
- 1:13Speaker 4: to make with you. Likewise, so you mentioned I didn't
- 1:18Speaker 4: finishing releasing new album A Beast on Octobe the eleventh,
- 1:21Speaker 4: Mate so can you tell us a bit more about
- 1:23Speaker 4: the album musically and what you're down for with it.
- 1:26Speaker 3: I definitely can. First of all, I think the most
- 1:30Speaker 3: important part about that album is that we kind of
- 1:33Speaker 3: stepped away from the symphonic part of it that was
- 1:35Speaker 3: a huge part of our music for the first three albums.
- 1:38Speaker 3: It was not an initial choice that we said, no,
- 1:41Speaker 3: we want to do it anymore, and no, we don't
- 1:43Speaker 3: want to do it anymore, and we do it like
- 1:46Speaker 3: with an entire other production. We kind of said, we
- 1:50Speaker 3: don't want to have it just for the sake of
- 1:52Speaker 3: having it. We just want to see where the music
- 1:55Speaker 3: leads us. And it just happened that when we wrote
- 1:58Speaker 3: the first songs in our song cap we just realized
- 2:01Speaker 3: that there is not really the need for orchestral elements,
- 2:06Speaker 3: and we just happened to create soundscapes and nice atmospheres
- 2:13Speaker 3: without those instruments, and there we said, okay, it would
- 2:16Speaker 3: be maybe just too much and everything over the top
- 2:20Speaker 3: to add now back the orchestral elements. It was not
- 2:22Speaker 3: an initial choice that we step away from symphonic metal
- 2:25Speaker 3: or something like that. It just happened in the writing process.
- 2:29Speaker 3: This is the biggest music a part that kind of changed.
- 2:33Speaker 3: On the other hand, I have to say that I
- 2:35Speaker 3: have a feeling we kind of grew up a little bit.
- 2:40Speaker 3: It's like when you when you continue writing music, you
- 2:43Speaker 3: just change. And it feels like we think way way
- 2:49Speaker 3: more about every little part of a song than we
- 2:53Speaker 3: did on the on the previous hours. I'm not saying
- 2:56Speaker 3: that we didn't think at all about the early music.
- 2:59Speaker 3: I'm not saying that. It's like we're questioning more since
- 3:05Speaker 3: since this very album. We already did that with Chapter
- 3:07Speaker 3: three when we had this songwriting camp. I think this
- 3:10Speaker 3: is also the biggest part why we're questioning that much,
- 3:14Speaker 3: because we are all in the same room together writing songs,
- 3:16Speaker 3: which wasn't the case for the Chapter one Chapter two
- 3:19Speaker 3: because of pandemics and we were living so far apart,
- 3:24Speaker 3: and I think this just led to the next steps. Yeah,
- 3:28Speaker 3: this is the the biggest part musically that kind of changed.
- 3:36Speaker 4: Yeah, very good. Today we released the singles Surrender, out
- 3:39Speaker 4: of Space, My Higler, and Unstoppable, so overall they good
- 3:43Speaker 4: study representation. What do you expect from the whole album?
- 3:48Speaker 3: Kind of yeah, I mean it's not it's not that
- 3:52Speaker 3: these three songs like say everything from the from the record,
- 3:56Speaker 3: it's a nice overview, but I can tell you there
- 3:59Speaker 3: are more or ups and downs coming. That's that's not everything.
- 4:04Speaker 4: Uh.
- 4:05Speaker 3: You sort of touched on this before.
- 4:07Speaker 4: But the press release causing your most dynamic, modern and
- 4:10Speaker 4: progressive record today, do you agree with that statement?
- 4:15Speaker 3: Most dynamic progressive today good beings? I don't know. Oh yeah,
- 4:24Speaker 3: I mean most most modern. Definitely most progressive. Yeah, could
- 4:30Speaker 3: make could make sense as well, I think so. I think,
- 4:32Speaker 3: as as I said earlier, I have the feeling that
- 4:35Speaker 3: we spend much more time thinking about every little piece
- 4:39Speaker 3: in our music. It's just yeah, it's it seems like
- 4:46Speaker 3: we just put way more work in it. I don't
- 4:50Speaker 3: know how that was even possible, but.
- 4:53Speaker 4: That now I read it quite from the band that
- 4:57Speaker 4: said ABIs marks a new era for Ada and finish
- 5:00Speaker 4: calling it a journey connecting three albums starting in the
- 5:04Speaker 4: ominous darkness of Abyss. So does that mean that Abyss
- 5:08Speaker 4: is the first part of a trilogy?
- 5:11Speaker 3: That's true? Yeah, exactly, Yeah, the trilogy we already had
- 5:16Speaker 3: like an hour in the press CIPT. We have Abyss,
- 5:19Speaker 3: we have Surface, and we have Elysium, which tells a
- 5:23Speaker 3: little bit of a story traveling from a dark a
- 5:28Speaker 3: dark place of mind where you've slowly reached the surface,
- 5:31Speaker 3: you get better, you heal, until you reach a museum,
- 5:33Speaker 3: which is like the vile state of happiness. It's important
- 5:40Speaker 3: to mention that it's not like the previous three albums
- 5:44Speaker 3: connected to a historical figure or something like that. It's
- 5:47Speaker 3: more personal experiences and feelings that we process here in
- 5:52Speaker 3: these pieces of music and will process in the future
- 5:54Speaker 3: as well.
- 5:56Speaker 4: So what story does abystell.
- 6:03Speaker 3: It's it's it's more like, as I said, the state
- 6:06Speaker 3: of mind is a very dark and depressing one. It's uh,
- 6:11Speaker 3: it's a place of weakness where you try to evolve
- 6:15Speaker 3: from and you evolve for these what you will you
- 6:23Speaker 3: evolve and you can see it like in the next
- 6:25Speaker 3: albums that are there to come. So this is the
- 6:29Speaker 3: worst state of mind.
- 6:30Speaker 4: Yeah, So so as you progress to the state of
- 6:33Speaker 4: mind is musically over the three albums, will that affect
- 6:36Speaker 4: the musical direction? I guess the albums like will this
- 6:38Speaker 4: will be more dark because it's a dark state of mind,
- 6:41Speaker 4: and then all that sort of move through as you go.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Yes and no. In the first place, yes, because when
- 6:50Speaker 3: we started writing you, of course we had the concept
- 6:53Speaker 3: before we started writing the music, and then you already
- 6:57Speaker 3: enter the the recording room with her all all the
- 7:01Speaker 3: song camp with a certain yeah weight on your shoulders.
- 7:07Speaker 3: You get into this, you get into this mood, you
- 7:09Speaker 3: get into this feeling. But still we don't want to
- 7:12Speaker 3: limit ourselves. It's not like we said, oh, we're writing
- 7:16Speaker 3: this album like weakness and dark places. It's not that
- 7:21Speaker 3: we limited ourselves when we went into the songwriting camp
- 7:25Speaker 3: that we said, oh, because this album is about weakness
- 7:28Speaker 3: and a dark place of mind in general, a dark
- 7:30Speaker 3: spot in your head. Everything has to be bad and
- 7:35Speaker 3: and harsh and brutal and carry a certain vibe. Of
- 7:39Speaker 3: course kind of did, but we didn't want to limit
- 7:43Speaker 3: ourselves there. So on the other hand, also when it
- 7:47Speaker 3: comes like, for example, to the surface, to the very
- 7:49Speaker 3: happy well, let's say, very very calm and peaceful part,
- 7:55Speaker 3: everything will not be nice and very tales and blah
- 8:00Speaker 3: blah blah. It generates a certain mood musically and lyrically.
- 8:05Speaker 3: Though lyrically this is a Melissa part I I'm not
- 8:09Speaker 3: stepping on the toes there, but it's not an entire
- 8:18Speaker 3: entire I say this will be a brutal metal course
- 8:25Speaker 3: genre album and this will be a pop album or
- 8:27Speaker 3: something like that. Just created the base and then we
- 8:31Speaker 3: let it flow, right.
- 8:32Speaker 4: So it was with something like Listen is a trilogy?
- 8:34Speaker 4: I have a three albums, Like do you write all
- 8:36Speaker 4: three of.
- 8:36Speaker 3: Them at once and report them all at once?
- 8:38Speaker 4: Or do you focus on one of this time?
- 8:41Speaker 3: No, we focus on one other time, right, and just sort.
- 8:44Speaker 4: Of does that allow for it to breathe a bit more?
- 8:47Speaker 4: I guess between albums exactly?
- 8:50Speaker 3: And otherwise we still want a tour in between albums.
- 8:53Speaker 3: And if we would write three albums at once and
- 8:56Speaker 3: we would, I guess we would have to step down
- 8:57Speaker 3: from touring for two years or something like that, and
- 8:59Speaker 3: we don't want to do that.
- 9:03Speaker 4: It sort of touched on this a bit before. But
- 9:05Speaker 4: you dropped a lot of symphonic metal elements for this album.
- 9:09Speaker 4: Is that something that's going to be the band moving
- 9:12Speaker 4: forward from now? Is that just for this album?
- 9:15Speaker 5: Mmm?
- 9:16Speaker 3: Honestly, I don't know. As I mentioned earlier, it was
- 9:20Speaker 3: not a decision we made in the first place, and
- 9:22Speaker 3: we said we don't want to do that anymore, and
- 9:25Speaker 3: they jump on from there. It just kind of happened.
- 9:29Speaker 3: I can assume that we continue like this, but I
- 9:33Speaker 3: don't want to be certain because, for example, on the
- 9:36Speaker 3: on the next record or the record after that, if
- 9:39Speaker 3: there happens to be a great song where we all like,
- 9:42Speaker 3: oh my god, there have to be a passwords on
- 9:44Speaker 3: there and that very opening sea part, that can absolutely
- 9:48Speaker 3: happen and no one knows. So I wouldn't limit ourselves
- 9:51Speaker 3: there to say we're not being spuntic anymore. I just
- 9:55Speaker 3: can't tell whatever the music in the song will allow us.
- 10:00Speaker 4: Yeah, you're about to head out on tour with Camelot
- 10:03Speaker 4: as well, so tell us about that run of shoes exactly.
- 10:06Speaker 3: I was starting in round about two weeks in Europe
- 10:09Speaker 3: together with our friends and Blackbriar. We already toured with
- 10:13Speaker 3: them in Europe unfortunately, or Europe again, uh for you guys,
- 10:19Speaker 3: and Frozen Crown is in this package as well. It
- 10:23Speaker 3: will be a great package, great venues for powerhouse bands,
- 10:29Speaker 3: smashing every evening, and I think it would be great.
- 10:33Speaker 3: I personally cannot wait to go back on tour. It
- 10:36Speaker 3: was the the US tour in April May. It was
- 10:40Speaker 3: we were kind of nervous because at least me and
- 10:43Speaker 3: the boys, because Minis already had they had done us tours,
- 10:47Speaker 3: but we didn't circles well the first time, and it
- 10:52Speaker 3: was it felt like a really really great adventure. And
- 10:56Speaker 3: then it was July, and then it was August, but
- 10:59Speaker 3: then it was really like three four months ago. It
- 11:01Speaker 3: was like, oh, when can we head out again?
- 11:05Speaker 4: Yeah, and then in early twenty twenty five you hit
- 11:08Speaker 4: the ride with a liberty and infected Ryan. So that
- 11:11Speaker 4: should be a lot of fun.
- 11:13Speaker 3: Exactly, it will be, especially since this tour kind of
- 11:17Speaker 3: leads us to cities and countries and where we haven't
- 11:19Speaker 3: been yet, like Greece. I think we're playing in Oh.
- 11:27Speaker 3: I have to take a look. Sorry, I can't see
- 11:32Speaker 3: them in calendar. I can't tell my head now, Excuseually
- 11:36Speaker 3: you get in the nightliner and then you get out,
- 11:38Speaker 3: oh and in the country. Cool, but it's it's just
- 11:43Speaker 3: very different places that we haven't been before, and we
- 11:45Speaker 3: haven't played Aroun music yet. So this is a very
- 11:47Speaker 3: very great experience. And the second with LT we had
- 11:53Speaker 3: the pleasure to share some shows in twenty twenty three summer, No,
- 12:00Speaker 3: it was twenty twenty two. I think it was summer
- 12:02Speaker 3: twenty twenty two. I think we shipped We opened two
- 12:05Speaker 3: shows for them, and it was very nice. They're also
- 12:08Speaker 3: such great people. Kind of wait to see them again.
- 12:12Speaker 3: And Infected Rain. I haven't met them yet, but when
- 12:15Speaker 3: I when I was younger in the city I grew up,
- 12:19Speaker 3: there was like a poster of Infected Rain playing in
- 12:22Speaker 3: the area close by, and I was having twelve back
- 12:26Speaker 3: then cool and I'm gonna I'm gonna tell them this story.
- 12:32Speaker 4: Definitely little, thanks very much for you to mate a
- 12:36Speaker 4: bit easy at October the eleven so best of black
- 12:39Speaker 4: men of man and hopefully we do stay on this
- 12:41Speaker 4: stide of the world, saying round and lighter.
- 12:47Speaker 1: That's still the rism between the lighter sounds. Girl here
- 12:53Speaker 1: you breason, it was still the post and the ground hottest.
- 13:01Speaker 1: You can't turn back anymore. Jills, don't must fine, call
- 13:09Speaker 1: me the devil. You can't be me for your sins
- 13:14Speaker 1: and not of friends of Despy. Your chemistry excelerated.
- 13:22Speaker 2: When ever be wrong this watch you want to go.
- 13:34Speaker 2: This is what I think.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Look can for tomorrows though, stay here for mad.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Just tell Mada whatever I just.
- 14:09Speaker 3: So.
- 14:11Speaker 1: The streaky oceans and skies can't stop the feeling.
- 14:17Speaker 2: It can me so at night when I am so
- 14:22Speaker 2: don't leave me here, only no afters getting and that's
- 14:38Speaker 2: getting up. We're just SnO, my god, I guess no,
- 14:48Speaker 2: no what WI is so from the shop? I say
- 14:56Speaker 2: my coat, I'll tell me I'm.
- 15:00Speaker 5: As we're just a bunch of fucking around and the words.
- 15:19Speaker 6: As we're just a bunch of fucking rid world whistles.
- 15:33Speaker 2: I don't want to know.
- 15:38Speaker 1: As many and ask what the fdicer.
- 15:46Speaker 7: My boss raso, what dsway from this?
- 16:00Speaker 2: My course'll tell me.
- 16:03Speaker 5: What if we just we just.
- 16:09Speaker 2: Through where the case no wries not for what if
- 16:15Speaker 2: we just sailed away from the show, losing the cool?
- 16:21Speaker 2: Or tell me I'm not a fool? What if we
- 16:25Speaker 2: just leady
