- 0:14Speaker 1: Saying the thanks I do, and I'm nervous like cleaning
- 0:17Speaker 1: the yeah checking, No, that's not what we're gonna talk about.
- 0:20Speaker 1: But what's going on? Everybody? I am the one, the only,
- 0:23Speaker 1: the w oh okay, I e joined here by the
- 0:27Speaker 1: rest of my crazy teammates co hosts, whatever you want
- 0:32Speaker 1: to call him. We got the kid who knows everything
- 0:35Speaker 1: Cole Robbie, and the kid that's going to school to
- 0:40Speaker 1: know more things, Dexter.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Yep.
- 0:44Speaker 3: Hello everyone, but.
- 0:46Speaker 1: It's time to pay a few bills. If you like
- 0:48Speaker 1: us enough to maybe buy us a buck, head over
- 0:51Speaker 1: to the Patreon. Now, I'm I'm gonna propose this, gentlemen,
- 0:55Speaker 1: I'm gonna make I'm gonna I'm gonna do it as
- 0:57Speaker 1: they said in the nineties, and I'm gonna blow whistle. Right,
- 1:02Speaker 1: So I have done a really bad job of posting
- 1:07Speaker 1: on Tuesdays, right, I think we can all agree upon that. Correct? Sure,
- 1:13Speaker 1: thanks for everyone agreeing. That's on me, It's on the wookie, right,
- 1:18Speaker 1: I'll i'll take, I'll take, I'll take the rep for that.
- 1:24Speaker 1: So I am proposing and I'm not proposing, I'm just
- 1:27Speaker 1: telling you. The show will now be uploaded to Patreons
- 1:32Speaker 1: early and then we'll go live on Fridays. This will
- 1:38Speaker 1: give us enough dexter. Stop moving around in the sheet,
- 1:42Speaker 1: just read it, read it, use your finger. Jesus, I
- 1:48Speaker 1: just see his name. Just keep moving. It's like stop there.
- 1:52Speaker 2: So then the question is is when are we doing
- 1:54Speaker 2: the live show Fridays?
- 1:58Speaker 3: So, yeah, we're still doing it at the same time.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Is just getting uploaded it?
- 2:01Speaker 1: Yeah, it's just getting uploaded. It's just going live a
- 2:04Speaker 1: week later, right, and then it'll give the it'll give
- 2:09Speaker 1: the people who do help us out a Patreon to
- 2:12Speaker 1: you know, make it so your life sucks a little
- 2:14Speaker 1: bit less. You know, maybe you want to give you
- 2:18Speaker 1: a buck or two. And then if you're interested in
- 2:21Speaker 1: maybe getting some energy, because both me and Cole Robbie
- 2:25Speaker 1: both need it, you can go to w dot gg
- 2:29Speaker 1: and use code draw better and save yourself ten percent
- 2:32Speaker 1: off w dot gg.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Nice memorable code.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Though, Yeah, draw better, it's like every other card game
- 2:44Speaker 1: draw better. I visited some game stores recently. Maybe I
- 2:50Speaker 1: can tell the story about that later on, But it's
- 2:54Speaker 1: time to go into our not altered question of the day.
- 2:59Speaker 1: What's your favorite part? Why is it smores? And if
- 3:01Speaker 1: you say any other kind. We can't be friends. I know,
- 3:07Speaker 1: I just threw that. Dexter is like, what is going on?
- 3:11Speaker 3: I read I've had like maybe two pop tarts ever?
- 3:16Speaker 1: You have to pop tarts ever, like in your life?
- 3:21Speaker 2: Yeah? What?
- 3:24Speaker 3: I think I've only had like the strawberry and blueberry flavors.
- 3:27Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 3:28Speaker 3: I haven't had very many pop darts.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Dexter is definitely the kid that grew up with parents
- 3:36Speaker 2: that were like, we can't have any of that process.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Artificial process sugar. Yes, this is true, You're gonna need good,
- 3:43Speaker 1: wholesome foods.
- 3:47Speaker 2: I cannot answer your question because you've already contradicted my answer.
- 3:52Speaker 1: So contradicted is your favorite?
- 3:59Speaker 2: No it is not?
- 4:00Speaker 1: All right? Then what is your favorite?
- 4:04Speaker 2: So? First off, fun fact, the icing in pop tarts
- 4:09Speaker 2: has gelatin, so I do not eat any of the
- 4:13Speaker 2: iced ones anymore. Thinking back, I'd probably say brown sugar
- 4:19Speaker 2: was my favorite.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Cool brown sugar, cinnamon people, there is something wrong with y'all?
- 4:25Speaker 2: Yeah, Or the chocolate fudge one I remember being pretty good.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Those are good.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Nowadays. I think it's probably the snicker doodle. Otherwise I
- 4:39Speaker 2: just eat unfrosted like strawberry or blueberry.
- 4:43Speaker 1: So are you able to eat toaster strudlekeeltin in it?
- 4:53Speaker 2: I think that just has milk and eggs, but I
- 4:55Speaker 2: have had them before in my life. That's like the bougie.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Shit milk, and you know, i'd have to go look
- 5:02Speaker 1: at that. I don't know, I gonna lie to you.
- 5:05Speaker 1: I don't have any idea. That's a good question because
- 5:11Speaker 1: I do love pastries though, Yeah, like, well that has
- 5:14Speaker 1: pastries have eggs in them, because like the crust would
- 5:17Speaker 1: have an egg in it. No, and milk.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Sometimes it depends on the pastry.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Yeah, you don't. You don't actually need either for a
- 5:27Speaker 2: good crust. So even if pie crust doesn't have to
- 5:31Speaker 2: have either, sometimes it won't have any in the actual crust.
- 5:35Speaker 2: They'll just do it.
- 5:36Speaker 1: So are you vegetarian or are you vegan?
- 5:43Speaker 2: I am indeed vegan.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Well I thought he was just vegetarian. I didn't know
- 5:47Speaker 1: he was vegan. No, no, I I know. I knew
- 5:53Speaker 1: you're a vegetarian, I didn't know you were full on vegan.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Soy yep.
- 6:00Speaker 2: So if you want to know the weird ship that's
- 6:04Speaker 2: in your food you would never think of, uh, feel
- 6:07Speaker 2: free to ask.
- 6:08Speaker 3: Probably know it.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Yep, yep, probably.
- 6:12Speaker 1: I gonna lie. I'm a heathen. If it's around, I'll
- 6:15Speaker 1: probably eat it.
- 6:18Speaker 4: Yep.
- 6:18Speaker 2: I'm the same way. But if it's vegan, I'll eat it.
- 6:21Speaker 1: If it's vegan, you'll eat it. I'm the fat kid.
- 6:23Speaker 1: I'll eat whatever is, whatever's clever. So do love me
- 6:30Speaker 1: as smart as pop tart chat, let us know what
- 6:32Speaker 1: your favorite pop tart is. But moving into this BG
- 6:37Speaker 1: A World Championship Qualifier number No. Number one was today? Right,
- 6:44Speaker 1: it's today?
- 6:47Speaker 2: Ish it was?
- 6:48Speaker 1: It was like a really early on week or.
- 6:52Speaker 2: The BG it was.
- 6:54Speaker 3: This was a while ago. Now, okay, yeah, I have
- 7:00Speaker 3: not This was the sixteenth and the seventeenth, so it
- 7:03Speaker 3: was a week ago.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Now, man, I'm really behind. What's today the twenty fourth?
- 7:07Speaker 1: Look at that the twenty fourth, I, you know, to
- 7:10Speaker 1: be honest with so pretty much a week ago. Now
- 7:12Speaker 1: I would go into what's going on with me and
- 7:14Speaker 1: my work life, but I cannot. I can. I cannot
- 7:18Speaker 1: go into it.
- 7:21Speaker 2: And I've been doing so much altered stuff that I
- 7:24Speaker 2: don't know which day is what and who is where?
- 7:27Speaker 2: And I thought this weekend I would have a break.
- 7:31Speaker 2: But now maybe possibly we'll be helping out with Canada
- 7:35Speaker 2: as well, so that'll.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Be got your passport ready, huh Canada.
- 7:41Speaker 2: I will not will not be going in person, but
- 7:44Speaker 2: they need help setting up stream.
- 7:46Speaker 1: So oh, it doesn't seem like a terribly difficult thing
- 7:51Speaker 1: to do. But why are you doing no?
- 7:55Speaker 2: But because there's nobody else as good as us, you mean,
- 8:01Speaker 2: as good.
- 8:02Speaker 3: As you all the best.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Blue Blue and I yeah, we run the stream team
- 8:09Speaker 2: and everything for a Wall, and a Wall is running
- 8:13Speaker 2: all of the w c q's and has i would say,
- 8:19Speaker 2: probably the best, most consistent like tournament streams. So yeah,
- 8:27Speaker 2: there you go, if anyone wants me.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I've been trying to do that for years. Nobody
- 8:34Speaker 1: wants to hire me. I'm not cool enough. It's all right,
- 8:37Speaker 1: I understand what is a wall? Is there? What is
- 8:40Speaker 1: their YouTube channel? Where do they running?
- 8:42Speaker 3: Normal?
- 8:44Speaker 2: Yes, so it's yeah, it's technically at Altered Weekly Online League.
- 8:51Speaker 2: If you just type in a wall altered or something
- 8:55Speaker 2: like that, you'll find it. But that's where.
- 9:00Speaker 1: You're talking the Canadian w cqs.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Right, uh yeah, so yeah, so a wall is running
- 9:11Speaker 2: all of the BGA qualifiers and I don't think the
- 9:16Speaker 2: Canadian one will be on the a wall channel. I'm
- 9:20Speaker 2: not I'm not sure yet. We have a meeting on
- 9:22Speaker 2: Wednesday with them, but we'll just be helping them get
- 9:26Speaker 2: a stream set up and then I don't know what
- 9:28Speaker 2: we'll be doing from there yet. We've been talking with
- 9:31Speaker 2: them so far.
- 9:32Speaker 1: So who's them or this equinox?
- 9:37Speaker 2: No, so all of the w cqs are technically run
- 9:41Speaker 2: by like partners. Dallas was Common Ground Baltimore of course,
- 9:47Speaker 2: as you know, is games stuff. Yeah, and I honestly
- 9:53Speaker 2: don't know if this is the store name or the
- 9:57Speaker 2: like company or whatever by in Canada's imagine air. Let's
- 10:03Speaker 2: see their website. Is this Yeah, it is definitely. Oh
- 10:08Speaker 2: they have Labu boos.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Yeah, the boobos are stupid and crazy expensive.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Man, they sell them Labubus for ninety dollars. Anyways, yep,
- 10:21Speaker 2: buying it. That is the store name. But we yeah,
- 10:28Speaker 2: we ran the first one for technically the EU about
- 10:32Speaker 2: a week ago, and we have the next one I
- 10:38Speaker 2: think on September sixth, so not this weekend, but the next.
- 10:43Speaker 2: That one is technically NA time centered. So Dexter, tell
- 10:50Speaker 2: us about your experience with competing in the first BGA qualifier.
- 10:56Speaker 3: So I actually didn't compete in it because I'm I'm
- 11:00Speaker 3: a college student, so I don't wake up very early normally,
- 11:04Speaker 3: and it was the summer, so that means I normally
- 11:07Speaker 3: wake up even later, like around noonish normally because I
- 11:10Speaker 3: don't have a job. So this qualifier being at like,
- 11:15Speaker 3: I don't know, seven am or something I said in
- 11:18Speaker 3: an alarm and I like woke up and then I
- 11:20Speaker 3: just decided I wanted to go back to bed and
- 11:22Speaker 3: was too lazy to open my computer.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Yeah, that's light work mostly.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, but like.
- 11:32Speaker 1: You don't have any kids, I'm not used to it
- 11:34Speaker 1: really at like during the school you know, now it
- 11:38Speaker 1: was a little different, but man, during the school year,
- 11:43Speaker 1: I'm already two hours into my day.
- 11:47Speaker 2: It was technically eight am, so even later.
- 11:49Speaker 1: But oh oh, I probably could have done it.
- 11:54Speaker 3: Then I woke up.
- 11:56Speaker 2: At seven am because I had to start the stream
- 11:58Speaker 2: at seven point thirty. The event didn't start until eight
- 12:01Speaker 2: am at least from what I remember.
- 12:03Speaker 1: But it's oh, Dexter, the only reason people listen to
- 12:06Speaker 1: the show is to listen to all the things Dexter
- 12:08Speaker 1: doesn't know.
- 12:10Speaker 2: Yeah, what were you going to play in the event?
- 12:15Speaker 2: Did you even do any preparation or were you just
- 12:17Speaker 2: going to lock in? Yeah?
- 12:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I played some traced. I traced a good bit.
- 12:22Speaker 3: I still don't have good uniques. I bought two slightly
- 12:26Speaker 3: better ones for like fifteen dollars a piece that I
- 12:29Speaker 3: was going to play in it, but that didn't end
- 12:32Speaker 3: up happening.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Are unique?
- 12:34Speaker 1: It's still going for crazy money? Or is it really
- 12:38Speaker 1: so cool?
- 12:39Speaker 2: And yes and no, depends on what your level of
- 12:43Speaker 2: crazy is. To me, anything over like thirty dollars is
- 12:47Speaker 2: a little crazy, and anything over one hundred dollars is
- 12:50Speaker 2: just absolutely crazy.
- 12:52Speaker 1: But I want to be like competitive? Am I am
- 12:55Speaker 1: I busting out over a bill for a unique?
- 12:59Speaker 2: No?
- 13:00Speaker 3: In my opinion, Well, it depends on what you want
- 13:04Speaker 3: to build. I think if you really want like the
- 13:07Speaker 3: best uniques you can get for a certain build, it's
- 13:10Speaker 3: probably going to be about one hundred a unique A unique?
- 13:15Speaker 1: Still not bad? Ye, still not bad. I mean if
- 13:18Speaker 1: you figure if you start from scratch and work your
- 13:21Speaker 1: way up, I mean, you're what a little over one
- 13:23Speaker 1: hundred three hundred bucks a deck, So that's still not bad.
- 13:26Speaker 3: Yeah, it shouldn't be over three hundred. Ever, well you
- 13:30Speaker 3: got to it's not all of them are going to
- 13:33Speaker 3: be one hundred dollars uniques. That's not necessary. That's like
- 13:37Speaker 3: the high end.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Well I'm saying it's not sugarcoat it, right, Like, let's
- 13:43Speaker 1: be legit about this. Like if I'm going if I
- 13:46Speaker 1: want to be you know, I want to be cram
- 13:49Speaker 1: to the creme high end, you know, no nonsense, I'm
- 13:53Speaker 1: probably busting out a bit, then I'd.
- 13:54Speaker 3: Say about one hundred.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Yeah, the results don't.
- 13:59Speaker 3: You can still win with extensive ones, so yeah, yeah,
- 14:04Speaker 3: so like it will. It will give you, like a
- 14:07Speaker 3: somewhat a competitive advantage to have like the best of
- 14:10Speaker 3: the best uniques, but you can definitely still do very
- 14:12Speaker 3: well and win without them.
- 14:15Speaker 2: It also depends on what hero, what build. But who
- 14:18Speaker 2: won the EU event? He actually won in Top Cut
- 14:23Speaker 2: with only having two uniques because.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Nice a funny story. Yeah, I don't know who it is,
- 14:33Speaker 1: but I already like such person.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Yeah. So g Gio Como an Italian man. He was
- 14:42Speaker 2: playing with Sierra and I guess everyone that watched the
- 14:46Speaker 2: stream and followed it knows this story, but maybe podcast
- 14:49Speaker 2: listeners and you two here don't. But he made the
- 14:54Speaker 2: Top Cut and then between Top Cut or between Swiss
- 15:00Speaker 2: and top cut since it was split into two days.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Someone purchased his artist spy that he had for sale
- 15:08Speaker 2: on the market, and so then he did not have
- 15:13Speaker 2: that unique anymore, and he was kind of freaking out,
- 15:16Speaker 2: and so he was messaging like Simon asking what to
- 15:19Speaker 2: do and everything, and so we kind of talked about it,
- 15:23Speaker 2: and I think maybe Simon asked Cedric, who is over
- 15:29Speaker 2: like the competitive stuff, what he thought, and basically all
- 15:33Speaker 2: of us agreed, like it would be kind of shitty to,
- 15:38Speaker 2: you know, disqualify someone or or give them a game
- 15:40Speaker 2: loss or whatever, because I mean, it would have meant
- 15:44Speaker 2: that you had no chance either way. So we were
- 15:49Speaker 2: just like, yeah, just replace it with a common So
- 15:52Speaker 2: he had to replace it with a common Haven bouncer
- 15:57Speaker 2: because it was a spy that sabotage and ended up
- 16:02Speaker 2: getting first place with Basira with only two uniques and
- 16:06Speaker 2: the other two uniques. If I'm being honest, are under
- 16:12Speaker 2: I would say maybe the trickster is a little pricier,
- 16:16Speaker 2: but the trailblazer that he has is nothing special. Or
- 16:21Speaker 2: just draw a card which is highly valued in Bravos.
- 16:27Speaker 3: So but you can get that for like thirty dollars easily.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Yeah, and I can't remember who else it was. It
- 16:35Speaker 2: was I think one of the Traced players. They told
- 16:39Speaker 2: me for total their uniques were sixty euros, like to
- 16:45Speaker 2: get all three of them, and they had won an
- 16:49Speaker 2: event before. Second place was Tempet who was playing Traced,
- 16:58Speaker 2: and I think besides his Merlin, maybe they're also not
- 17:03Speaker 2: super crazy uniques. The Merlin though, might actually not be
- 17:10Speaker 2: amazing because it has six costs from hand, but you
- 17:16Speaker 2: really play it for the scout ability and it has
- 17:20Speaker 2: the avalanche on it. So now since he got second place,
- 17:25Speaker 2: that Merlin and similar Merlins are probably crazy expensive. But
- 17:29Speaker 2: before that they I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if
- 17:32Speaker 2: before someone like found out about this Merlin tech if
- 17:37Speaker 2: you could get this for like six.
- 17:38Speaker 3: Bucks, yeah, probably could.
- 17:42Speaker 2: But yeah, so that is who won. The first online
- 17:48Speaker 2: qualifier was Giacomo was very very cool event. Easy Lopez
- 17:56Speaker 2: on Tasia was in third place. I would say, if
- 17:59Speaker 2: you at the top four, the person that has the
- 18:04Speaker 2: most expensive uniques is easy Lopez and he got third.
- 18:12Speaker 2: So uh, they're all like the very explicit mass anchoring
- 18:19Speaker 2: type uniques. The Capellia. One of the capellias gives boosts.
- 18:27Speaker 3: But then it's like helps the anchors.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Yeah, when when I when you can when a character
- 18:33Speaker 2: you control games one or more boost target, yeah, three
- 18:37Speaker 2: or less gains anchored Kellen elemental. Yeah, so those are
- 18:42Speaker 2: those are insane uniques, but.
- 18:44Speaker 3: Those are ridiculous. Yeah, those are both probably like two
- 18:47Speaker 3: hundred dollars. Yeah.
- 18:49Speaker 2: I would say, if you want to get in the
- 18:51Speaker 2: top thirty two with Muna right now, you have to have.
- 18:55Speaker 3: You need really extensive uniques.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Yeah, yep.
- 19:00Speaker 3: That's just the only way that you can win with Muna.
- 19:02Speaker 2: Yep. During this season. It's either that or you get
- 19:07Speaker 2: really good at playing festival and then even the festival
- 19:11Speaker 2: it hasn't seen great success lately, but yeah, yeah.
- 19:16Speaker 3: Some some really good uniques that help out festival.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, Idyllic has some, but he ended up just
- 19:24Speaker 2: bubbling out in Dallas with ninth place.
- 19:27Speaker 1: So Yeahsmeir not doing so hot at this event. Yeah,
- 19:32Speaker 1: that's because the first ye I see.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that whole reactionary thing where they change.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Everyone is scared of playing a fauness.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Now we got it's an Akesha. It is the first
- 19:46Speaker 1: one I see. I saw another one on here I
- 19:49Speaker 1: just lost it. Yeah, here's a faunas right here.
- 19:52Speaker 3: There's no a faunus at thirty fourth, right, No.
- 19:55Speaker 1: That's Akesha at thirty fourth, forty ninth. Oh wait, no,
- 20:00Speaker 1: hold on where am i?
- 20:02Speaker 2: Oh?
- 20:02Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a final set thirty fourth.
- 20:04Speaker 3: Yeah, yep, I'm ship forty ninth.
- 20:09Speaker 2: Yeah. Funess is still good, Linda Way is pretty good.
- 20:12Speaker 2: It just takes a lot of thought and time to
- 20:15Speaker 2: figure it out. But people just you know, react to
- 20:21Speaker 2: the change and switch on to something. But yeah, it's uh,
- 20:28Speaker 2: it's Bravos' time right now with axiom like Neck and Neck.
- 20:34Speaker 2: You mentioned that you would have played traced. How does
- 20:36Speaker 2: it feel going from Muna in the current meta to
- 20:39Speaker 2: playing tracete.
- 20:45Speaker 3: Exter in the current METAA? So I haven't The thing
- 20:49Speaker 3: is is that I haven't played Muna in the current meta.
- 20:52Speaker 3: To be honest, I probably haven't played Muna in like
- 20:55Speaker 3: two or three weeks, since I wasn't playing any games
- 20:58Speaker 3: when I was playing with it.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Yeah, it's the same thing. How did it?
- 21:02Speaker 3: So? Now that I've switched to Trace, I can actually
- 21:05Speaker 3: win games on it. I still probably have less than
- 21:08Speaker 3: a fifty win rate just because the way that I'm
- 21:11Speaker 3: playing is probably suboptimal, just because I don't have a
- 21:14Speaker 3: lot of reps with my Trace build currently or great uniques,
- 21:19Speaker 3: but I don't know. It's a lot better than Muna felt,
- 21:22Speaker 3: and it's about a fifty percent win rate. I like
- 21:25Speaker 3: just going as fast as possible getting as many cards
- 21:28Speaker 3: on the board, so.
- 21:30Speaker 2: People who might have listened for a while know that
- 21:33Speaker 2: Axiom was my least played faction. I started playing two
- 21:39Speaker 2: different decks over the last couple of weeks, and man
- 21:45Speaker 2: playing current Muna and then going over to an Axiom
- 21:48Speaker 2: deck has me thinking, how the hell have Axiom players
- 21:52Speaker 2: been complaining for so long?
- 21:55Speaker 1: Well, there's always that one faction, right, There's always that
- 21:58Speaker 1: one faction that like we get I think, and there's
- 22:02Speaker 1: always a faction.
- 22:04Speaker 3: On average, it's card value is a lot lower than
- 22:07Speaker 3: other factions.
- 22:09Speaker 2: Feels like.
- 22:12Speaker 3: When you have a bunch of one drops that resupplies
- 22:16Speaker 3: and you're spamming little guys and.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Kel if you're getting that dexter. Think about what you
- 22:23Speaker 1: just said. Their card value is lower, that can't be
- 22:28Speaker 1: true if they're placing consistently in the top ten.
- 22:35Speaker 3: There's ways to manipulate it so that it gets advantage
- 22:38Speaker 3: with TRACE's ability by just constantly putting everything in reserve
- 22:42Speaker 3: and playing it from reserve.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Right, but like that, but like that's the advantage.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I think Mona is the only faction
- 22:56Speaker 2: that hasn't won a w c Q yet, right.
- 22:59Speaker 1: I was going to say, right now, yes, the Red
- 23:01Speaker 1: Headed Stepchild is definitely like from It's the definite fall
- 23:05Speaker 1: from Grace, right at least I feel like it is
- 23:09Speaker 1: like they I don't know if they were favored for anything, like,
- 23:13Speaker 1: but like at one point in time we were talking
- 23:16Speaker 1: how hot Muna might be and.
- 23:19Speaker 3: Just yeah, we never achering unique, right.
- 23:22Speaker 1: But like it's just it has materialized. Say that Tasias,
- 23:30Speaker 1: there's a few there's a Tasia in the top, I
- 23:33Speaker 1: mean a couple of Tages in the top thirty two.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Yeah, she she had her time for a little bit
- 23:39Speaker 2: where she was.
- 23:39Speaker 1: Definitely if anybody's getting the shaft right now, it's Lyra.
- 23:48Speaker 1: Make Lyra great again.
- 23:49Speaker 3: I'm gonna make it really is Muna.
- 23:52Speaker 1: I'm gonna make those hats Muna hat. You know what, Mua,
- 23:55Speaker 1: you know, here's the deal. Muna just hasn't figured it
- 23:58Speaker 1: out yet. So figure it out, m players. There's something
- 24:01Speaker 1: out there for you, right.
- 24:03Speaker 2: Listen, I've I've tried. I would say it's enough on
- 24:10Speaker 2: the bottom right now, but it won't. It won't be
- 24:12Speaker 2: like that forever. Next set will be better.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Lyra's always never a bride, No Fen.
- 24:24Speaker 2: Is always consistent.
- 24:27Speaker 3: I will say. One thing I found kind of interesting
- 24:30Speaker 3: is how, in my opinion, people have kind of shied
- 24:32Speaker 3: away from sabotage. Like early on all decks like needed
- 24:36Speaker 3: some sabotage and removal, and now people are just like
- 24:39Speaker 3: removals good enough at least for for traced, And I
- 24:43Speaker 3: think Bravos is probably shied a little bit away from well,
- 24:47Speaker 3: just sabotage.
- 24:48Speaker 1: It's always going to be how the meta shifts. Right
- 24:52Speaker 1: as the meta shifts, it's going to be like, well,
- 24:54Speaker 1: this is you know, X cards won't get played too often, right,
- 24:58Speaker 1: this is a card game. Right as the meta shifts,
- 25:02Speaker 1: certain cards won't get played too often, Certain mechanics will
- 25:05Speaker 1: kind of fall by the wayside, and then all of
- 25:08Speaker 1: a sudden, someone will go, you know, it was a
- 25:10Speaker 1: good mechanic that one time sabotage. Why does nobody play
- 25:14Speaker 1: that anymore? And somebody's gonna try it and people are
- 25:16Speaker 1: gonna get completely caught off guard. And then all of
- 25:20Speaker 1: a sudden sabotage will be back Like this is like
- 25:23Speaker 1: always possibility. I listen, I've played it. I wish Felix
- 25:30Speaker 1: are here right now because he would like totally back
- 25:32Speaker 1: me up on this, because I've seen it in so
- 25:35Speaker 1: many card games where it's like, this is totally somewhat viable.
- 25:40Speaker 1: It just takes somebody brave enough to do it. The
- 25:43Speaker 1: problem is, typically when people go to these large events,
- 25:47Speaker 1: they are a little scared to try something new as
- 25:52Speaker 1: opposed to something proven, right, because this is your one shot,
- 25:56Speaker 1: and whenever you go into something, it always has the
- 25:59Speaker 1: possibility to blow up in your face right and and
- 26:02Speaker 1: be exactly what everyone else has said. However, it also
- 26:06Speaker 1: has the possibility to go boom and you win the
- 26:09Speaker 1: whole damn thing. But which do you go with? You know,
- 26:12Speaker 1: people will tend to go with the thing that has tried,
- 26:15Speaker 1: true and known.
- 26:18Speaker 3: Yep.
- 26:19Speaker 2: So yeah, we've had We've had a Faunace take one
- 26:25Speaker 2: and get qualified. We've had him take one and get qualified.
- 26:34Speaker 2: We've had a traced take one and get qualified. Well,
- 26:39Speaker 2: so technically at Lele trace Novenka and two of Faunas's qualified, the.
- 26:47Speaker 1: Lyra has qualifying.
- 26:51Speaker 2: Yeah at lele because it was over a.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Thousand players, I thought it was just the first place,
- 26:59Speaker 1: no matter how big the event.
- 27:01Speaker 2: Yeah, some of them have two, a lot of them
- 27:04Speaker 2: have one, and then Leil had four. Okayuh so yeah
- 27:08Speaker 2: you have Lyra, you have Yazmir, you have Ortis, you
- 27:11Speaker 2: have Axiom, and then we just had Bravos, well actually
- 27:14Speaker 2: had two Bravos, Kojo and then Basira. So yeah, Muna
- 27:18Speaker 2: is the only one that has not qualified yet. So
- 27:22Speaker 2: I don't think it's an overall like action issue that's
- 27:26Speaker 2: been around for a while. I think it's just the
- 27:28Speaker 2: current meta is really really hard for Muna to survive
- 27:33Speaker 2: at all. And for Axiom. I will say Zoebash is
- 27:41Speaker 2: not terrible but not exactly like great. But Sierra and
- 27:48Speaker 2: Trace playing them now compared to like trying to make
- 27:51Speaker 2: a Tasia deck work just feels like I'm like on
- 27:55Speaker 2: freaking performance enhancing drugs. So when I started playing Trace,
- 27:59Speaker 2: I it's like, you got how do they complain so much?
- 28:03Speaker 2: You know?
- 28:03Speaker 1: Like I said, there's always one faction in the group
- 28:05Speaker 1: that's like, hey, we suck, and then they win everything
- 28:09Speaker 1: and they're like, but we still suck. So there's always
- 28:13Speaker 1: that one. It no matter what you know, Flesh and Bloods,
- 28:17Speaker 1: it was Guardians for the longest time. They're like, we
- 28:19Speaker 1: don't have enough, but they're winning everything. You know, Pokemon,
- 28:24Speaker 1: it was Fire for a while. Yeah, it just there's
- 28:26Speaker 1: always that one. There's always that one. But you know, yeah,
- 28:30Speaker 1: you follow them the Lions, right.
- 28:33Speaker 2: I think taking a look at the factions as a whole,
- 28:37Speaker 2: you kind of look at how many heroes are viable.
- 28:40Speaker 2: And what I said on an episode of Here's Our
- 28:45Speaker 2: One shout out to a Hero's Guide to as Gartha.
- 28:48Speaker 2: I recently did a MUNA episode with them for the Tumults,
- 28:52Speaker 2: and what I said is Muna has like one point
- 28:56Speaker 2: five viable heroes and that's been true since the start
- 28:59Speaker 2: of the game.
- 29:00Speaker 1: Like always saw, I was gonna say, I have a question,
- 29:04Speaker 1: who is the half Rin? Yeah?
- 29:08Speaker 2: Okay, and Argent is not viable at all and never no.
- 29:13Speaker 1: But I'm assuming. I was like, is it going to
- 29:14Speaker 1: be written festival? Is that who you're saying is going
- 29:17Speaker 1: to be the viable deck yep?
- 29:19Speaker 2: So that's why Rin gets a half. I mean even
- 29:22Speaker 2: though yeah, even though Tasia is viable, the only way
- 29:26Speaker 2: she's viable right now is with very expensive anchoring uniques,
- 29:32Speaker 2: but even then not viable enough to win.
- 29:36Speaker 1: Which is so weird that the expensive anchoring uniques would
- 29:40Speaker 1: be expensive considering the whole faction as a whole is
- 29:44Speaker 1: not viable normally that tanks their price.
- 29:47Speaker 2: But it's they just got them a long time ago.
- 29:51Speaker 2: So that's why they're still considered expensive and they haven't
- 29:55Speaker 2: been hit.
- 29:56Speaker 1: Is that an oxymoron? They just got them a long
- 29:58Speaker 1: time ago.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Yeah, they yeah, I mean not exactly. It's because they
- 30:05Speaker 2: got anyways grammar semantics. But yeah, speaking of sabotage everything,
- 30:12Speaker 2: when we move into the tumults, we can talk about
- 30:17Speaker 2: sabotage and how it feels currently. But since a Wall
- 30:23Speaker 2: did post it and do all the streaming and everything,
- 30:28Speaker 2: do you guys have any behind the scenes questions that
- 30:31Speaker 2: I can answer for the two of you?
- 30:35Speaker 1: I feel like I should have.
- 30:37Speaker 3: I'm bad at coming up with questions.
- 30:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I was like, what do you mean behind the scenes.
- 30:44Speaker 2: I don't know. I mean I helped set up the
- 30:47Speaker 2: stream organize the streamers, did a lot of casting. A
- 30:51Speaker 2: Wall organized the whole tournament. Yeah, it was how many
- 30:56Speaker 2: people did it end?
- 30:57Speaker 3: In eleven eighty something?
- 31:02Speaker 2: Yeah, so the the biggest BGA event ever.
- 31:08Speaker 1: I don't know nothing crack right, Yeah, No.
- 31:14Speaker 2: We had talked I think after day one, and there
- 31:18Speaker 2: was it lagged a little bit, but nothing.
- 31:21Speaker 1: It was a little laggy, but nothing broke. It's like, well,
- 31:24Speaker 1: that's always good.
- 31:25Speaker 3: Stressed and then any judge calls or bugs or anything
- 31:31Speaker 3: that you had to deal with with, like working properly.
- 31:35Speaker 2: I told us wrong, Yeah, I told you the biggest one,
- 31:40Speaker 2: which was the person that ended up going to win it.
- 31:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:44Speaker 2: Ye. Other than that, I don't think anything too glaring
- 31:49Speaker 2: the first day. Of course, there were a lot of
- 31:51Speaker 2: people that don't know how BGA timers work that that
- 31:55Speaker 2: then lost, so they got upset. There were people that
- 32:01Speaker 2: weren't paying enough attention and then you know, maybe missed
- 32:05Speaker 2: their next game, so then they got knocked out, and
- 32:08Speaker 2: so they were upset. And there were maybe a couple
- 32:11Speaker 2: people that BGA actually did mess up and not pair
- 32:17Speaker 2: them or something and it booted them out. But anyone
- 32:23Speaker 2: that that happened to, as far as I am aware of,
- 32:27Speaker 2: no offense to them, had no chance of making the
- 32:31Speaker 2: top thirty two. So while it sucks, it wasn't like
- 32:36Speaker 2: someone who was five and zero somehow randomly just like yeah,
- 32:41Speaker 2: get their sixth match, which would have been a legitimate
- 32:44Speaker 2: problem overall. But yeah, no, it went well. The stream
- 32:50Speaker 2: was great, pretty sure, it was the most viewed that
- 32:55Speaker 2: we have done. And then Ana and I call it
- 33:01Speaker 2: a PAK because that's just kind of like the more
- 33:04Speaker 2: I guess corporate way to say it. Events are left.
- 33:09Speaker 2: North America is on the sixth and sign ups are
- 33:16Speaker 2: live right now. What time does it say for us?
- 33:21Speaker 2: It says ten, So ten am I believe? So you
- 33:26Speaker 2: should be able to wake up for that one.
- 33:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean now I'm in school too. Is it
- 33:32Speaker 3: on a Saturday?
- 33:34Speaker 1: Yeah, almost Saturday. They are going to be on Saturday's Dexter.
- 33:38Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 33:38Speaker 1: Most people I know are not going to be like,
- 33:41Speaker 1: I'll take the job. I'll take a random Wednesday after
- 33:44Speaker 1: replay some alter yeah happen. I mean maybe it does.
- 33:50Speaker 1: I mean I take random weeks. Well not because I
- 33:54Speaker 1: normally take like Thursday to fly out and then it's Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
- 33:57Speaker 1: But I guess Thursday. It's kind of a weird day,
- 34:01Speaker 1: but it is what it is.
- 34:04Speaker 2: Think for the APAC one, it's technically for us like
- 34:10Speaker 2: Friday Saturday Sunday, which will be interesting. But well, we'll
- 34:19Speaker 2: get there when we get there. I think that it
- 34:25Speaker 2: ended up having to be on the same date as
- 34:29Speaker 2: the second US one, the Baltimore one, Yeah, thirteenth and fourteenth,
- 34:35Speaker 2: because they moved it.
- 34:37Speaker 3: On the same day.
- 34:39Speaker 2: Yeah, so they had to move it up earlier because
- 34:42Speaker 2: I guess in some Asian countries you have to get
- 34:48Speaker 2: a specific visa to go to Paris. So they wanted
- 34:55Speaker 2: enough time for.
- 34:57Speaker 3: Oh, for people to be able to get it.
- 35:00Speaker 2: Yeah. So it wasn't it wasn't on purpose, but they
- 35:04Speaker 2: moved it up earlier just so that if if someone
- 35:08Speaker 2: from those you.
- 35:09Speaker 1: Know all about this, dexter, have you not been paying attention?
- 35:14Speaker 1: Riku has to get a special visa to come here
- 35:16Speaker 1: this year. Oh okay, Bamboo one of our key forge players,
- 35:23Speaker 1: he's got to get.
- 35:24Speaker 3: Oh yeah, that is true.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Him and his wife have to get a special visa
- 35:28Speaker 1: to come here. So yeah, you should know all. You
- 35:31Speaker 1: should know all about this.
- 35:34Speaker 3: I don't know how long it takes.
- 35:36Speaker 1: I don't know how long it takes either, but I
- 35:39Speaker 1: don't think it's a length of time.
- 35:42Speaker 2: So he yeah, not going to be quick.
- 35:48Speaker 1: So not not well in other countries, it's it's not
- 35:52Speaker 1: as terrible here, yes, but other countries.
- 35:55Speaker 2: Sometimes you don't even technically like need to be if
- 36:00Speaker 2: you're going to just compete. But it depends.
- 36:03Speaker 1: Yeah, it depends to an old man anyway, Or was
- 36:08Speaker 1: I showed out to here? Are you went? It sounds
- 36:12Speaker 1: like you went to a tumult recently.
- 36:15Speaker 2: Yep. So today is Sunday, the twenty fourth, so it
- 36:20Speaker 2: was yesterday. So unfortunately, the Dallas area is really I mean,
- 36:28Speaker 2: it's not even that it's small, it's just that it's
- 36:31Speaker 2: split in two. And the other store that has like
- 36:35Speaker 2: half of our players is horrible. And I don't know
- 36:39Speaker 2: why the players still like hold out hope that they're
- 36:43Speaker 2: gonna stop the The employees and the people that help
- 36:48Speaker 2: out at the store are lovely, they're great. But what
- 36:51Speaker 2: it is is it's like a chain. So for any
- 36:54Speaker 2: like events where we're ordering or things like that, you know,
- 36:58Speaker 2: it has to go through like a corporate or whatever.
- 37:01Speaker 1: Yeah, so they always always a pain.
- 37:05Speaker 3: Yep.
- 37:06Speaker 2: So we only had six total players, But what that
- 37:12Speaker 2: meant is we all kind of made sure to avoid
- 37:17Speaker 2: each other on like what faction we were picking. Technically,
- 37:24Speaker 2: we did have two Ravos players because Tasty Bacon came
- 37:27Speaker 2: up from Austin to play, so that's the only reason
- 37:32Speaker 2: we got to six. Pratt was out at a wedding
- 37:36Speaker 2: so he wasn't available, and then none of the people
- 37:40Speaker 2: from Game Nerds came. They said it was a little
- 37:43Speaker 2: too early after the Grapevine event, and so I think
- 37:47Speaker 2: they're hoping that Game Nerds will host one. But I'm
- 37:50Speaker 2: not holding my breath because that's what happened last season.
- 37:54Speaker 2: But yeah, so Vin was going to be playing Lyra,
- 38:00Speaker 2: so I was like, all right, I'll play Muna because
- 38:02Speaker 2: if I wanted to win, I would have played Lyra.
- 38:08Speaker 2: Since Vin was doing Lyra, Eli Oh was either going
- 38:14Speaker 2: to do Yazmir or Axiom depending on what showed up.
- 38:19Speaker 2: Ben was on oritis, and then both Beck and Tasty
- 38:23Speaker 2: Bacon were on Bravos. I was like, all right, well
- 38:26Speaker 2: I'll go Muna. I'll get my top infection and whatever
- 38:30Speaker 2: happens happened. What's funny is Tasty Bacon was normally a
- 38:39Speaker 2: Muna player, but he was like, yeah, I wasn't even
- 38:42Speaker 2: going to try to win with Muna. I knew I
- 38:44Speaker 2: had no chance. So Vin won on Finn so Lyra won,
- 38:50Speaker 2: so there's a there's a point fort again, there's a
- 38:56Speaker 2: point for them. In the Tumult season, l e O
- 39:01Speaker 2: actually didn't win this time, was defeated by take Down
- 39:06Speaker 2: the King. Leo did get second though on Lindaway, so nice,
- 39:12Speaker 2: and uh, Siggy was third, and then I think I
- 39:18Speaker 2: think I was definitely last. I just don't know where
- 39:22Speaker 2: Bravos landed. And then no one played act see him.
- 39:26Speaker 3: So yeah, I went once.
- 39:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I went one and four.
- 39:31Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's it's in the notes. Do you want
- 39:34Speaker 2: to click into the deck and give me your thoughts now,
- 39:38Speaker 2: dexter I did.
- 39:40Speaker 3: I did click on the deck earlier. I think it's
- 39:43Speaker 3: as good as you can do for Moona right now. Uh,
- 39:47Speaker 3: you should have three caregivers. I don't know. I you
- 39:50Speaker 3: only have two.
- 39:53Speaker 2: I have two because I added a one off man. Yeah,
- 40:01Speaker 2: because because I kept drawing the caregivers instead of resupplying them.
- 40:07Speaker 2: So I was like, script, I'll just have two, and
- 40:11Speaker 2: then Muna Drewid is there, and then everything else anchors itself.
- 40:14Speaker 3: Yeah. I think everything here is pretty good. I don't
- 40:18Speaker 3: like little mouse. Jack Frost is kind of meh in
- 40:21Speaker 3: my opinion, but other.
- 40:23Speaker 1: Than that needs more penguin. That's your problem.
- 40:27Speaker 3: There is no penguin in Muna.
- 40:30Speaker 1: That's the point. That's the joke. Dexter. Thanks.
- 40:35Speaker 2: Yeah, So the basic concept was with this is the
- 40:40Speaker 2: reason that Muna is in a rough spot right now
- 40:45Speaker 2: is like ninety percent because there's just so much freaking
- 40:49Speaker 2: removal in the meta right now. You have the grims
- 40:53Speaker 2: which you'll get rid of your permanence that protect your characters.
- 40:57Speaker 2: You have license withdrawal, you have requ from Lyra, you
- 41:01Speaker 2: have all the removal that existed before, like teamwork, training,
- 41:05Speaker 2: and off you go and figure.
- 41:08Speaker 1: The problem is, I don't think you're ever like removal
- 41:11Speaker 1: traditionally and again in other card games, doesn't matter which
- 41:14Speaker 1: one you go to pick, pick your card game director,
- 41:18Speaker 1: removal is so powerful.
- 41:22Speaker 3: Yeah, and that's why all the best picks right now
- 41:24Speaker 3: are just spamming little characters so that removal can't deal
- 41:28Speaker 3: with them.
- 41:29Speaker 1: Well, it can, but it's it's inconsequential to them, right,
- 41:34Speaker 1: Like I can removal, I can pick off right, but
- 41:38Speaker 1: it's it's inconsequential. Kind of the point I was going
- 41:42Speaker 1: with this was that, like, I don't know if you're
- 41:44Speaker 1: ever gonna because you like say, like, there's so much
- 41:46Speaker 1: removal right now, I don't know if you'll ever see
- 41:49Speaker 1: that go away. Yeah, there's just nothing to like you
- 41:55Speaker 1: would have to print something so much better and like
- 42:00Speaker 1: it just to typically there's nothing better than our removal.
- 42:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 42:05Speaker 2: The problem with Muna is there's nothing that can get
- 42:10Speaker 2: around all of the types of removal, and there's no
- 42:14Speaker 2: other strategy that works. So like, for example, what we
- 42:21Speaker 2: would traditionally do for removal is play like Hydra Kana
- 42:29Speaker 2: or something because it's a very big body. A lot
- 42:32Speaker 2: of removal cannot target something you know that expensive. But
- 42:37Speaker 2: now the hunger just eats it and negates your protection
- 42:43Speaker 2: or even right, I mean yeah, license withdrawal as well,
- 42:47Speaker 2: because it has boosts. So license withdrawal I think is
- 42:51Speaker 2: the perfect example of why Tasia has fallen so far.
- 42:55Speaker 2: The first character Tasia plays every single day gets automatically,
- 43:02Speaker 2: so every character Tasia plays for the most part, has
- 43:06Speaker 2: a boost, which means every character can be targeted by
- 43:10Speaker 2: license with y'all. So, uh, next set will be better
- 43:14Speaker 2: for MUNA, for I can't just uh, I see you know,
- 43:19Speaker 2: whispers in the tea leaves so but yeah, so my
- 43:24Speaker 2: my concept was This is how the meta is currently,
- 43:27Speaker 2: everyone is like abusing Muna. What if I try to
- 43:32Speaker 2: abuse everyone back? So yeah, it has beauty Sleep, it
- 43:37Speaker 2: has Requiem, it has Manna reaping, and then now I
- 43:44Speaker 2: switched to Requiem because it costs less. I don't know
- 43:48Speaker 2: how I feel about it. I've always kind of been
- 43:51Speaker 2: on Requiem, but that's a story for another day. And
- 43:55Speaker 2: then it has Little Mouse and it has Jack Frost.
- 43:58Speaker 2: And then I have a will of the Wisp that
- 44:02Speaker 2: whenever I play a character in Forrest, I may give
- 44:06Speaker 2: another character fleeting. And then it has a shroom that
- 44:11Speaker 2: gives something sleep from hand, and then it allows me
- 44:16Speaker 2: to discount my next character in YadA YadA. The other
- 44:20Speaker 2: thing is is I have a second shroom that has
- 44:24Speaker 2: the Jack frost ability for every time it gets a boost,
- 44:29Speaker 2: but I don't have it printed. And it gives your
- 44:34Speaker 2: characters tough one as well. So normally this deck would
- 44:38Speaker 2: have that, but I don't have it printed. So yeah,
- 44:44Speaker 2: I knew it.
- 44:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I knew basic proxies.
- 44:50Speaker 2: No, no, not for it, tumal for sure. I knew
- 44:55Speaker 2: I had no chance of winning, So I was like,
- 44:57Speaker 2: you know what, let's just try something different.
- 45:01Speaker 3: Wait, but we allowed proxies at Dallas. Why wouldn't you
- 45:05Speaker 3: allow proxies at a tumult?
- 45:07Speaker 2: So the way that people consider the World Qualifier is like,
- 45:12Speaker 2: there's such a huge thing on the line, and the
- 45:16Speaker 2: reason that proxies were allowed is because one or two
- 45:21Speaker 2: print on demand dates slipped, so they allowed proxies. I
- 45:27Speaker 2: personally actually don't think that they should be allowed after Dallas,
- 45:32Speaker 2: but that's not my decision to make, so I think,
- 45:38Speaker 2: I mean, like, this is my honest opinion here now,
- 45:43Speaker 2: I don't think you should be able to the day
- 45:46Speaker 2: before an event. I you a unique and just slot
- 45:50Speaker 2: it into your deck and then print out a proxy
- 45:53Speaker 2: and go to the event. That may be a hot take,
- 45:58Speaker 2: but I guess it depends on what you value, because
- 46:02Speaker 2: I guess if you played online you could technically do that.
- 46:05Speaker 2: But either way, that's I think that's why it's just very.
- 46:12Speaker 1: Like dilemma conundrum, right, Like you're poking around, poking around,
- 46:19Speaker 1: see what I'm in the marketplace, and then you buy it,
- 46:23Speaker 1: should you immediately be able to use it? You technically
- 46:26Speaker 1: own it in an online status but not in physical form. Yeah,
- 46:33Speaker 1: what I think interesting quorum.
- 46:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I personally am okay with online qualifiers
- 46:42Speaker 2: being different than in person.
- 46:45Speaker 3: Yeah, so I would prefer no proxies, just to make
- 46:49Speaker 3: it easier on everyone, so you don't have to have
- 46:52Speaker 3: stuff to the side, yep.
- 46:54Speaker 2: And that's that's where I would personally lean is just
- 46:58Speaker 2: no proxies in there was like a delay in pot
- 47:02Speaker 2: or something like that, and it was very obvious that
- 47:05Speaker 2: this person had ordered it for this event or whatever,
- 47:08Speaker 2: because I think I just like the fact that in
- 47:13Speaker 2: person play is a little different than online and I
- 47:18Speaker 2: think they're both valid, and I like that we have both,
- 47:22Speaker 2: but I would like them to be kind of different,
- 47:24Speaker 2: and I'm fine with that. Some people are like they
- 47:28Speaker 2: all have to be the same, they all have to
- 47:29Speaker 2: be consistent, everything has to be the same or else,
- 47:33Speaker 2: you know, blah blah blah whatever. But that's a whole
- 47:36Speaker 2: other tangent.
- 47:37Speaker 1: Well, I mean, because this is a game where you
- 47:39Speaker 1: do have a very odd and like you have a
- 47:41Speaker 1: very online client which is part of your collection, and
- 47:44Speaker 1: then you have a physical form which is part of
- 47:49Speaker 1: your collection. I mean, my my thing is and if
- 47:57Speaker 1: you could prove that you you know, and I think
- 48:00Speaker 1: it's kind of what you were saying Cole, if you
- 48:03Speaker 1: can prove like, hey, I ordered this x amount of
- 48:06Speaker 1: you know, time ago, and it just hasn't got here.
- 48:10Speaker 1: Like I was trying to be prepared, but it just
- 48:12Speaker 1: didn't happen because like what you do for one, you
- 48:16Speaker 1: got to do for all now, right, Like I mean,
- 48:18Speaker 1: you set a precedent. You basically said like, yeah, as
- 48:22Speaker 1: long as you can as long as it is in
- 48:25Speaker 1: your in your digital collection, like you're allowed to use
- 48:31Speaker 1: it in your physic in your physical deck, like period
- 48:35Speaker 1: of the story. Even at large scale, a lot is
- 48:39Speaker 1: on the line events. Yeah, I think I think where
- 48:43Speaker 1: the I mean, and this is their first year with
- 48:46Speaker 1: big events, so we'll see where that goes. But that's it,
- 48:50Speaker 1: like you have now kind of like I said, you
- 48:52Speaker 1: kind of set a precedent at this point saying like yeah,
- 48:54Speaker 1: we're going to allow this.
- 48:57Speaker 2: I think that's the perfect way to put it. Is
- 48:59Speaker 2: the very first one they allowed proxies because there was
- 49:05Speaker 2: a date that was pushed so like people had their
- 49:09Speaker 2: order in and they were like, oh crap, there was
- 49:11Speaker 2: an issue with printing. We can't print until another week,
- 49:15Speaker 2: and so there were a group of people that supposedly
- 49:19Speaker 2: they did have you know, card orders in that slot
- 49:23Speaker 2: that got pushed, so then they were like, okay, we'll
- 49:26Speaker 2: allow proxies. But then exactly like what you said is
- 49:30Speaker 2: now it's just kind of like this thing that can
- 49:32Speaker 2: go to the next to the next to the next,
- 49:34Speaker 2: where they're like okay, but now because they're like, ar
- 49:39Speaker 2: gone mentioned it in the chat is uh, if you
- 49:44Speaker 2: got a unique a bit ago, they're in these summer
- 49:47Speaker 2: print slots now, so there's only like one print slot
- 49:51Speaker 2: a month or something like that. So now you're at
- 49:54Speaker 2: like okay, but you're only printing once a month, so
- 49:56Speaker 2: now I can't get my unique. But then, like you said,
- 49:59Speaker 2: it says the precedence of now in the end of September,
- 50:03Speaker 2: if something happens, they're like, oh, well, now we have
- 50:05Speaker 2: to allow proxies again.
- 50:06Speaker 1: But it's almost like you got to allow proxies like
- 50:11Speaker 1: forever now. Yeah, Like I mean, what you do you
- 50:18Speaker 1: know again? You did it once? Why would you you know,
- 50:20Speaker 1: people are getting to assume that, well, they'll just do
- 50:23Speaker 1: it again.
- 50:25Speaker 3: And then what happened for like inating circumstances with pron demandalays.
- 50:31Speaker 1: Right, But you know, here's the deal with the business
- 50:34Speaker 1: I work in. I'll tell you something.
- 50:37Speaker 3: There's always going to be there's.
- 50:39Speaker 1: Always extenuating circumstance. There's always the people are always going
- 50:45Speaker 1: to sit and fight and argue for a reason that
- 50:48Speaker 1: they should be able to do what they want to do, right. So,
- 50:52Speaker 1: I mean, and Equinox is a very I don't know
- 51:02Speaker 1: how to say this, but they're a company that is
- 51:06Speaker 1: trying to tip you toe the line because of you know,
- 51:08Speaker 1: they're trying to do something that nobody's ever done before.
- 51:12Speaker 1: But at some point you're gonna have to Yeah, but
- 51:15Speaker 1: at some point you're gonna have to piss somebody off
- 51:17Speaker 1: and like slam the hammer down, right, because somebody's always
- 51:22Speaker 1: going to have an excuse as to why they couldn't
- 51:24Speaker 1: get that, like, oh well I bought this, you know,
- 51:27Speaker 1: where where do you draw that line? Where like this
- 51:29Speaker 1: is this is where you can go no farther yep,
- 51:34Speaker 1: you know. And then at some point it's going to
- 51:36Speaker 1: be like, well that's bs. This game's this game sucks.
- 51:40Speaker 1: What's going under It's never going to be any good,
- 51:42Speaker 1: you know what I mean. The ship is sinking. Everybody
- 51:44Speaker 1: get off. So it's interesting.
- 51:48Speaker 3: Already did that once when they were impatient for on
- 51:51Speaker 3: demand the first.
- 51:51Speaker 2: Time, right, yeah, so I I think, yeah, it is.
- 51:57Speaker 2: It is that thing of where like there will always
- 52:00Speaker 2: be something and you know.
- 52:04Speaker 1: You know, there's always a grandma in the hospital, right,
- 52:08Speaker 1: Somebody always dies, right, somebody, you know.
- 52:13Speaker 2: But that that was my experience. It was nice, it
- 52:17Speaker 2: was good, though it was a short little day. I
- 52:21Speaker 2: wish that more people would come out. It's interesting the
- 52:26Speaker 2: pre release events are usually like over twenty people, but
- 52:29Speaker 2: then I think people are too scared of the tumults
- 52:32Speaker 2: or something, so then only like six to eight come
- 52:36Speaker 2: and then hey, automatic top eight, so you know that's
- 52:39Speaker 2: like oh. I also did pull from some of the
- 52:45Speaker 2: promos we got for prizing. I did pull a stupid
- 52:50Speaker 2: Silas unique that has the forbidden text of if your
- 52:57Speaker 2: hero expedition is behind, whenever another character joins your expeditions,
- 53:02Speaker 2: draw a card. So I have that now, which is
- 53:08Speaker 2: a very busted unique and was one of the very
- 53:12Speaker 2: nice yep yep. And for the other parts of the
- 53:19Speaker 2: Tumults wonkos in Austin, Texas. I'm pretty sure we'll have
- 53:24Speaker 2: theirs on Labor Day and I'm not sure what time yet,
- 53:29Speaker 2: but once it's fully announced, it'll be on Altered corner
- 53:33Speaker 2: dot com. And then there are two tumults in Houston,
- 53:38Speaker 2: and I don't know why I didn't put the dates
- 53:42Speaker 2: here one of they have them. Okay, go ahead, tell
- 53:46Speaker 2: us Texter.
- 53:47Speaker 3: Rooted Games is Saturday the thirtieth at three pm. And
- 53:52Speaker 3: then Ages looks like it is Saturday the sixth at
- 53:58Speaker 3: five pm.
- 54:00Speaker 2: Okay, cool? Are you going to one both? None?
- 54:04Speaker 3: The plan is to make it to both and play trace.
- 54:08Speaker 3: School is starting this week, and it is definitely possible
- 54:13Speaker 3: that there will be some things that I need to
- 54:16Speaker 3: attend to and might need to miss one of the tumults,
- 54:18Speaker 3: but hopefully I can make both.
- 54:21Speaker 2: I want to say I wish I could go to Austin,
- 54:25Speaker 2: but I am not sure it's gonna happen. But we'll see. Yeah,
- 54:31Speaker 2: that was the tumults, And if we blaze through the
- 54:36Speaker 2: last three sections, Dexter won't be sad about us skipping
- 54:42Speaker 2: the lore because it's uh, I picked the Little Mouse today.
- 54:48Speaker 3: Okay, we will like this card.
- 54:51Speaker 2: I don't like this card, but the story though.
- 54:55Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll read the We'll save that one for next time.
- 54:58Speaker 1: We're getting a little long on the two and my
- 55:01Speaker 1: daughter's trying to go to bed, and it is her birthday.
- 55:03Speaker 3: So but the story is all about it too.
- 55:07Speaker 1: It is. Yeah, she is now eight officially, so round
- 55:14Speaker 1: of applause. We do have for the tiny Livvy. You
- 55:18Speaker 1: made it to eight, kiddo.
- 55:21Speaker 2: Yay. We do have two quick Patreon questions.
- 55:24Speaker 1: Two quick Patreon questions, both coming from Chili impressions on
- 55:31Speaker 1: the World format, both in terms of three decks and
- 55:35Speaker 1: best of three.
- 55:39Speaker 2: So did you read the format?
- 55:42Speaker 3: No, I've not read this yet.
- 55:44Speaker 2: Yeah, so this is going to be a awesome answer.
- 55:47Speaker 2: This is where I tell you go listen to Heroes
- 55:49Speaker 2: Guide to His Gartha because I have not.
- 55:52Speaker 1: Because they do a real podcast where they give you information.
- 55:56Speaker 1: We just sit and talk to you, talk at you
- 55:58Speaker 1: for like an hour.
- 56:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 56:00Speaker 2: Here's the thing. I'm not going to Worlds. I don't
- 56:04Speaker 2: have any opportunity to go to Worlds. And yes, in no,
- 56:12Speaker 2: I definitely. It's in October, which is my like ten
- 56:21Speaker 2: year anniversary. Months. So before they announced the date, I
- 56:27Speaker 2: told my partner, I was like, all of October is
- 56:31Speaker 2: just like about you and I, especially because we love
- 56:35Speaker 2: Halloween and stuff. And then they announced it was on October.
- 56:40Speaker 2: So I'm I am staying committed to doing nothing in
- 56:44Speaker 2: October for altered because, as you've heard, I have been
- 56:50Speaker 2: helping run all of these online events qualifiers. I mean
- 56:56Speaker 2: I was in Dallas, I was at gen Con. I've
- 56:58Speaker 2: been doing a lot, and that's on top of already
- 57:02Speaker 2: doing ACE every week and a wall every week and
- 57:07Speaker 2: all of that. So I don't know. I've heard bits
- 57:10Speaker 2: and pieces of it. It sounds interesting. I guess it
- 57:14Speaker 2: depends on what the prizing is. But to me, qualifying
- 57:18Speaker 2: and getting to go is really the major benefit. So
- 57:22Speaker 2: if I were in those shoes, I wouldn't care what
- 57:25Speaker 2: it was like I'm going.
- 57:27Speaker 3: Format, Yeah, like, I mean, you would still want to
- 57:30Speaker 3: I feel like you would want it to be the
- 57:33Speaker 3: same format as the tournament that you qualified in. No,
- 57:36Speaker 3: I don't because that's where you showed that you did well,
- 57:39Speaker 3: so it should be the same, right, Nope, I don't care.
- 57:43Speaker 2: I get you win, you get a trip to Paris,
- 57:45Speaker 2: Like how you're going to be upset. I don't really
- 57:51Speaker 2: know what the format is. It's like called Conquest or something.
- 57:56Speaker 2: You can read information on the website. It's the seventeenth, eighteenth,
- 58:03Speaker 2: and nineteenth of October, and if you want more information,
- 58:08Speaker 2: like I said, just go listen to a Hero's Guide
- 58:10Speaker 2: to his Gartha because none.
- 58:12Speaker 4: Of us know.
- 58:15Speaker 1: Yeah, none of us know what.
- 58:18Speaker 2: I haven't read the formatyselves of the format.
- 58:21Speaker 1: Oh yeah I haven't either. I would say best of three.
- 58:25Speaker 1: That's my personal opinion.
- 58:28Speaker 2: Well, it's also conquest, so it's something like you bring
- 58:32Speaker 2: three decks, your opponent can like ban one or something.
- 58:35Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, it's over some triad.
- 58:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I was gonna say I read this article. Actually, yeah,
- 58:41Speaker 1: it's triad for you key Forge people listening, which is
- 58:46Speaker 1: a format that does not exist in key Forge. And
- 58:53Speaker 1: I'm very confused on it too, because I'm like, because
- 58:57Speaker 1: I'm not one hundred percent sure I read the article,
- 59:02Speaker 1: but I was kind of confused. And this is where
- 59:04Speaker 1: i'd normally ask Cole questions because you know, stop, but
- 59:11Speaker 1: I'm like, well what am I reading? Like what?
- 59:15Speaker 2: Yeah? And the the other thing is is my personal
- 59:19Speaker 2: opinion is that yeah, you fucking qualified to go to
- 59:24Speaker 2: Worlds and you're in Paris and you unless you qualified
- 59:29Speaker 2: by the last chance qualifier, you got a paid trip.
- 59:33Speaker 2: Like you could tell me that we're sitting in a
- 59:35Speaker 2: room and playing Patty Cakes and I'd be happy, right.
- 59:39Speaker 1: So I understand. I'm sorry, I just I understood, but like,
- 59:44Speaker 1: do I have to have like so that's okay, I
- 59:48Speaker 1: don't know. Maybe Chili, do you want to come on
- 59:50Speaker 1: and explain this to us? I don't know if he
- 59:56Speaker 1: was prepared or not, but this is so funny?
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: Is that?
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: Really?
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: We're going too long to talk about little Mouse? But
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: let's bring on Chili ran.
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, we're going to lie well because this I
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: was very confused at this. So, like, do I have
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: to have three fully fledged out decks?
- 1:00:16Speaker 5: Like, yes, they have to be registered. You have to
- 1:00:22Speaker 5: have those three decks, and out of those three decks,
- 1:00:25Speaker 5: you're you present them to your opponent, and your opponent
- 1:00:27Speaker 5: cancels out one of them that you cannot play. So
- 1:00:29Speaker 5: it's not like I believe you have to win with
- 1:00:32Speaker 5: your two remaining decks in a best of three format.
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: That's what I understood too. You have to win with
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: two of like, you have to win with two of
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: the decks and then like as far as I was
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: reading or I understood, and this could just be old
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: CCG's coming out. So once you win with a deck,
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: it's done, right, you can't come back to it.
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: Yeah, So let's just try it.
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: Yeah, it's basically try. But like my question was, like
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: I gotta have three? Like do they have to be
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: fully built? Are?
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: Yes?
- 1:01:03Speaker 4: You have to be, so that means you must have
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: nine amazing uniques.
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: Great?
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: Who does have three built decks already?
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: Hi?
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: Yeahs they likely already do have three, at least potentially.
- 1:01:22Speaker 5: The part that I struggle with or and I could
- 1:01:25Speaker 5: be absolutely convinced otherwise when I see it live is
- 1:01:27Speaker 5: some players are known for a hero and you're not
- 1:01:30Speaker 5: going to get a chance to see them play that hero.
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:01:33Speaker 4: I think that's sad.
- 1:01:35Speaker 5: I think that's great, but I don't know, Like but honestly,
- 1:01:42Speaker 5: class qualifies and he never gets to play with Fenn
- 1:01:46Speaker 5: and Crowbar. That's kind of sad in the greatest environment
- 1:01:50Speaker 5: to play the game. But it doesn't mean they're not
- 1:01:52Speaker 5: good players at other decks. I love that they get challenged.
- 1:01:56Speaker 5: But that's that's that's my my impression of like, I
- 1:01:59Speaker 5: hope it works.
- 1:02:01Speaker 4: I'm a little bit more skeptical.
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: Well, okay, so they also they have to be three
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: different heroes as well. They can't just build three decks
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: with three of the same hero I think it's three
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: heroes Okay, I have to go back and read.
- 1:02:15Speaker 4: The question though.
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: That would be silly if you could just build three
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: of the same deck.
- 1:02:20Speaker 4: They have to be just use nine very similar uniques
- 1:02:23Speaker 4: and three decks.
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: Yeah, the three different factions, not just heroes.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: Oh wow, Okay, different factions. That makes more sense now, Okay, yep, Well, Charlie,
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: if you want to read your second question off to us.
- 1:02:37Speaker 4: Well, I don't even remember what I wrote.
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: Oh it was. It was.
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: Now that we've had time to adjust from the mid
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: season patch, what other changes should be made to further
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: balance the game?
- 1:02:48Speaker 4: Okay, Mike.
- 1:02:49Speaker 5: My whole thing is they probably should do something with
- 1:02:53Speaker 5: license withdrawal and maybe even duel of Grit, given what
- 1:02:59Speaker 5: I heard the complaints from co Robbie a few minutes ago.
- 1:03:04Speaker 4: Definitely license withdrawal.
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: Yeah, hit killing you guys.
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: Does not want anymore.
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: Here's here's the deal. I really I I really enjoy
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: their moxie, right, I really enjoy that they've got this
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: ever evolving, ever changing atmosphere and when they see something
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: they say something, Right, it is, it's great, Right, it
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: is really awesome. However, there are you gotta you also
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: have to think about those of us who aren't always
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: watching what's going on with this game all the time. Right,
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: Like when you a rata a card, you affect an ecosystem,
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: and absolutely you have new players who want to come
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: into this game. You have players who are you know,
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: I may host a podcast, but sometimes I'm kind of
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: just sitting over here, twiddling my thumbs, sitting in the dark,
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: because you know, like when we go into this further
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: meta stuff, right, I'm not deep, deep, deep into the
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: meta like a col or, a dexter. I'm very surface level.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: I know what's going on, and I know enough to
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: talk about it and have opinions on it. But when
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: we get down to like matchups and stuff of that nature,
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: I'm still very green, right, I still poke around, I
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: still know what's going on. And when every time, like
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: I feel like there have been so many like and
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: everybody goes, well, Magic has tons of erotas. Magics had
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: thirty years, right like, and they are rota like sometimes
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: a couple cards every night, Like sometimes it is a lot,
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: but it's usually not that much. And it's just I
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: feel like every time I turn around, a card's being erota,
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: a car as being banned. We have two heroes now
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: that do not do or what they originally do do.
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: I don't even know if any of the cards of
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: my Lyrideck still do what they're supposed to do, so
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: I would.
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: Just you knowed, I know, and maybe like five cards.
- 1:05:17Speaker 5: So I think from a hero perspective, that's that's hard, hard,
- 1:05:20Speaker 5: harder to do and probably if everyone had their way,
- 1:05:23Speaker 5: that would never happen.
- 1:05:24Speaker 4: You never write a hero.
- 1:05:25Speaker 5: But if you look at it, from most card games,
- 1:05:28Speaker 5: every set release there is some level of banning or restriction.
- 1:05:32Speaker 5: If we look at the Lost release, there was just
- 1:05:34Speaker 5: one cod right, it was just a f honest. So
- 1:05:39Speaker 5: that's not bad one one card for two in two months.
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: But I feel like I feel like every time because
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: there's always going to be a new boogeyman no matter
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: what you do, right, So we got rid of Waru,
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: and then who became the new boogeyman? After that? I
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: can't up right? And then a Bonus rows up.
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: And was there for a little while too.
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: There's just there's always going to be a new boogeyman, right,
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: So if you keep because no matter what you do,
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: the spikes of the community are always going to find
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: a way to abuse something else. Yeah, So my only
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: way to do this is like making sure when you
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: are doing your set design that there are no boogeymen.
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: Correct.
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: Hard to do for any game.
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: It's incredibly difficult to do and damn near impossible.
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: Are you about it?
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: Well again, it's my problem is especially with a very
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: new card game, Altered has been out for less than
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: a well yeah it's been a year, right, next month? Right?
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: But still like you have you have to. I feel
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: like we're going on a little willy nilly with all
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: the bands and changes and ratas and all this stuff.
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: You have to a degree, let the set play out
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: and then, if possible, in your next set. And I
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: don't know what their their their structure is, but have
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: an answer to it, right or or maybe you know,
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: it just seems like every time somebody complains a little
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: bit in this game, everything gets changed, and it's like,
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: maybe that's the perception.
- 1:07:31Speaker 5: But I'll say, maybe maybe what I'm hearing from you is,
- 1:07:34Speaker 5: you know, an erata potential every two months is too often.
- 1:07:38Speaker 5: Maybe just do it once every set release, if anything.
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: If if that maybe.
- 1:07:45Speaker 5: Correct, It doesn't mean that they'll do it, but that's
- 1:07:47Speaker 5: the opportunity that they've said right now, they've said, Equinox
- 1:07:50Speaker 5: has said, we will do an an opportunity for ratas
- 1:07:54Speaker 5: and changes every two months, right one at mid season
- 1:07:57Speaker 5: patch and one at start of season patch.
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: It's just it's a lot.
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: Maybe that's they give themselves that opportunity. If they take
- 1:08:06Speaker 3: that opportunity every time, then it becomes an issue.
- 1:08:09Speaker 5: Well and they and they really didn't well I guess
- 1:08:12Speaker 5: they did. They did one this time, but they there
- 1:08:14Speaker 5: may not be anything. I I don't know. I actually
- 1:08:17Speaker 5: think eratas should just be on uniques so it impacts
- 1:08:20Speaker 5: the game a lot less. And and as you said, Wookie,
- 1:08:24Speaker 5: for you know, commons and rares, then the next set
- 1:08:27Speaker 5: should have something to counteract those, if possible. Anyway, I've
- 1:08:31Speaker 5: taken enough of your time. I'm interested to see what
- 1:08:33Speaker 5: you're going to say about the Little Mouse.
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: Yeah, my my.
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: Little mouse got lost and it's sorry, guys.
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: I I think that in my mind, I'm fine with
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: both ways. I I feel like I'm a very accepting
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: person of whatever. I can see both sides. I think, honestly,
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: License Withdrawal should have one of its features removed and
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: lore wise it should be discard target boosted character. I
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: think they should just remove that entirely because the card
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: is a picture of the mess and it literally says
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: enough of this mess. I don't think the card should
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: have ever targeted both permanence and boosted characters. But on
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: the other side, I'm never really the person calling for
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: ratas or anything, so I'll just figure out a way
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: around it personally. And then a third side of that
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: is I actually like eratas. I think they're fun. I
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: think it shakes up the meta, and I am just
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: an agent of chaos like that, so.
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: You definitely are I. Just like I said, my main
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: concern whenever I hear RATA is new players. That's my ultimate,
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: first and number one concern because you know, new players
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: traditionally will start playing this game, you know.
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: Yeah, but digitally it has all the eratas on the website,
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: so you'll see what the card does.
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: Now.
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: Bruh Digital is not where new players are picking up
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: this game. They're picking it up in their local.
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: Like they're all going to be told about the QR codes.
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: Surely they will be told about the QR codes. But
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: it's the same thing as keyfge, right, remember this about
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: key Forge. There was there was over a half a
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: million decks for code of printing. Yes, got thousand scanned,
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: so that means that means five what was it? One
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: out of every five was actually scanned and put into
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: the master vault, meaning a majority of the people get
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: picked it up to play it, didn't do never stand
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: it then fatally scanning it or anything because they had
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: no interest in it.
- 1:11:03Speaker 3: But well, I guess I wouldn't you really only need
- 1:11:08Speaker 3: to use it for like competitive settings.
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: I would love to hear a statistic and maybe this
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: is a col Robbie homework. You could ask someone like
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: how out of the number of cards printed, how many.
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: Are going to get scanned? In well, like none of
- 1:11:26Speaker 3: the commons are going to get scanned because once everyone
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: gets their place at they're not going to scan them anymore.
- 1:11:32Speaker 3: And I don't know if we have access to like
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: the information either of how many cards are printed.
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: Either way, this.
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: Is all stored somewhere. You can get this information. It's
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: just how much time and energy do you want to
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: put into get in it.
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I think comparing it to key Forge is not
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: the same.
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: It definitely isn't the same. But like just my my
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: main point was Dexter's like, well, eventually they're going to know.
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: New players typically just starting out with this game no
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: thing scanning that visit. They're not scanning that. Maybe if
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: they're like I want to play a little bit, maybe
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: they'll scan their deck in eventually. But but I'll tell you,
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: most people who are just starting out aren't scanning any
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: of those little barkwards.
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: Every single person that starts out does. But to your credit,
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: they might not know that the QR code goes beyond
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: just adding the card to their account. So that is
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: where you are correct. But it is very, very common
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: that new players scan their cards, especially when they learn
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: to play the game and they're told, like, make sure
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: you scan them.
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: Yeah. I will say, though this is from this is
- 1:12:47Speaker 3: from like your perspective of being like actually at a
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: game store and like teaching a new person and then
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: being in the environment of other players that are experienced.
- 1:12:57Speaker 3: I think there are a lot of cases of kitchen
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: table players where they just like buy it online and
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: never like go out and play with other experienced players,
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: so they don't get that knowledge that there's an app
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: and do that. So I think there are some people
- 1:13:11Speaker 3: that fall outside of the category that scan everything. I
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: think it's a small group, but I think it exists.
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: I think, yeah, that's I'm sure than you guys are
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: given a credit for.
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: I just think it's a much smaller percentage than the
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: key forward situation.
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: But yeah, saying it, I'm not saying that it isn't
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: like I was just using it as an example because
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: it's the only other game that has a QR cord
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: to my knowledge.
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: Yeah, but the high percentage that is equivalent is the
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: amount of people that, even though they scan the cards
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: in always forget that the QR code is for more
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: than just scanning your card in Like, there are people
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: all the time that have been playing for like three
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: sets where you're like, yeah, you can just scan the
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: card to get a translation, or you can scan the
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: card to see what the actual text is, or you
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: can scan the card to see ruling is information and
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: how certain interactions work. So I think that is where
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: to your credit. Yeah there, it is not very friendly
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: to new players if cards have changed, because overall, I
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: think it's very few.
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: Let me tell you though, all those Bagpie penguins that
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: people have been sending me, I haven't scanned a one
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: of those in not a one.
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: Maybe they already scanned them.
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: Then they might have. I don't know, and I wouldn't
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: have known. But like like, and I've the most busted
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: uniques out there. I'll guarantee you or sitting in a
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: shoe box somewhere along with a bunch of other like
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: random TCGs.
- 1:14:53Speaker 2: Could Yeah, there's one on my desk right now, though
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: I'll sell it to you for a hundred bucks.
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: I'll take it.
- 1:15:01Speaker 2: Now now that we have provided you with your weekly
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: tangent that we are so well known for the last

- 1:15:19Speaker 1: Yeah I do as well.

- 1:16:19Speaker 2: And that's all I will say.
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: I'm excited and I don't know what they are. That's
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: all I'll say on that one. But with that being said,

- 1:17:07Speaker 1: Jo years old,
