- 0:19Speaker 4: It's off the bench, all right, welcome back for a
- 0:29Speaker 4: photo finish.
- 0:30Speaker 3: Yeah, how ab out of breath.
- 0:34Speaker 5: I'll take over from here, Gus talk on dogs again.
- 0:37Speaker 6: So we're at the LSU Parade grounds, Flynn Chris Marler,
- 0:42Speaker 6: is that another five hour energy?
- 0:43Speaker 3: You're gonna kill yourself.
- 0:45Speaker 5: I don't think that's gonna happen on air later, Yeah, okay,
- 0:49Speaker 5: pay per view, all right, Wow, you just distract me.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Okay, you came in. You had two five hour energies.
- 0:56Speaker 3: Well come this morning doing this right.
- 0:57Speaker 5: I had another bottle of four hundred off air. It's
- 1:00Speaker 5: on air. Yeah, I was looking at the screen. It's
- 1:02Speaker 5: tough and stuff.
- 1:03Speaker 6: Look, then you had four milligrams on top of that
- 1:05Speaker 6: in ale and now you got another five hour.
- 1:08Speaker 5: Ali's gonna kill me And I am not good and.
- 1:13Speaker 6: I'm out of breath because we're at the parade grounds
- 1:15Speaker 6: here for our Swamp for k Team Kate event all
- 1:18Speaker 6: day long.
- 1:19Speaker 5: Swab ross and come out and get swap.
- 1:21Speaker 6: I had to sprint to the union because I've been yeah,
- 1:25Speaker 6: having to be.
- 1:26Speaker 5: Yeah, can cast a question and since you've already embarrassed
- 1:29Speaker 5: me enough on the show, I was following you. You
- 1:32Speaker 5: were drifting to the.
- 1:33Speaker 6: Right, yep. Up there, yep. Then I went to the
- 1:36Speaker 6: left because that's where the mill fact was.
- 1:38Speaker 3: I almost almost.
- 1:41Speaker 5: I thought it was like a women's men's yep, but
- 1:44Speaker 5: it was women's men's. Luckily I took a left the
- 1:46Speaker 5: last second. Have the cancel the whole show would have
- 1:49Speaker 5: never got my five hour be in jail. Can't do that.
- 1:53Speaker 3: So how many beats per minute? It's your heart going
- 1:55Speaker 3: right now?
- 1:57Speaker 5: Not enough?
- 1:58Speaker 3: Not enough?
- 1:58Speaker 5: No, get inside a little bit, a little bit.
- 2:01Speaker 6: See writing technically right now, just based on the five.
- 2:04Speaker 6: But you have fifteen hours of energy. Honestly, I thought,
- 2:07Speaker 6: and this is like you don't usually even wake up
- 2:09Speaker 6: by now.
- 2:11Speaker 5: I thought that we were off air because I was
- 2:13Speaker 5: watching us on here.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Okay, but you joined it five hours. I was like, okay,
- 2:17Speaker 3: I can seek this in. No one's going to see.
- 2:18Speaker 6: We probably came back a little faster because I think
- 2:21Speaker 6: Landrea Taylor might have held us coming back until I
- 2:24Speaker 6: got into the seat.
- 2:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I was runing as fast as I could. Yes,
- 2:28Speaker 3: I was not.
- 2:29Speaker 5: But also I apologize no free ads for five hours.
- 2:34Speaker 5: That tropical burst is delicious as going to kill me.
- 2:37Speaker 5: Hopefully she's not watching. She's got a real job right now.
- 2:39Speaker 3: Oh LORDI you want.
- 2:40Speaker 5: To talk about why we're dead inside Kalen Debor new contract?
- 2:47Speaker 3: Yeah, we did talking about getting paid? Am I right?
- 2:50Speaker 5: That broke off?
- 2:51Speaker 3: You're talking about Roger Goodell.
- 2:52Speaker 6: Making sixty four million dollars. How about Kaylen Debar a
- 2:55Speaker 6: little bit less per per year than Roger Goodell?
- 2:58Speaker 5: What is the total? I didn't even think the total
- 3:00Speaker 5: because it's right around the Kiffen thing. It's seven years,
- 3:02Speaker 5: twelve and a half million. Yep, so I believe because
- 3:05Speaker 5: I'm great at mental math. That's eighty seven and a
- 3:06Speaker 5: half million dollars for twelve years. Also the buyout, like
- 3:11Speaker 5: the they didn't put a lot of safety nets in
- 3:15Speaker 5: for Alabama if he's fired dot cause they owe him
- 3:17Speaker 5: ninety percent of whatever's left on his contract.
- 3:19Speaker 3: Right off the bat.
- 3:20Speaker 6: Interesting, ninety percent of what's left. Yeah, so there's no light.
- 3:23Speaker 6: Let's get past this year.
- 3:26Speaker 5: No, I think it's a pretty bad contract for Alabama,
- 3:29Speaker 5: but they gave him in Natotes an increase in pay
- 3:32Speaker 5: and the GM Courtney Morgan all on the same day.
- 3:35Speaker 6: Okay, So have my feel about your beloved Alabama Crimson
- 3:38Speaker 6: Tide extending, Kaylin Devorer? You know after a very short
- 3:41Speaker 6: amount of time, and it hadn't like, of course, like
- 3:43Speaker 6: the expectations have not lived up to years in your
- 3:46Speaker 6: family's expectations for Alabama football.
- 3:49Speaker 5: Well, living up to expectations ever been something my family's
- 3:52Speaker 5: doing great at.
- 3:52Speaker 3: So let's sell your family under your bus.
- 3:55Speaker 5: They mostly deserve it anyway, So just kidding. My mom
- 4:01Speaker 5: is watching, Hey Mom, So no, I don't know. I
- 4:06Speaker 5: love the idea that he got extended because I think
- 4:09Speaker 5: he's done a lot better than people think and give
- 4:11Speaker 5: him credit for it. And I'm also not going about
- 4:13Speaker 5: this as a fantasy. Had to pressure me into saying.
- 4:17Speaker 6: But you don't have to go into it. You're at
- 4:19Speaker 6: your heart, at their core, you are. We'll just subjectively
- 4:21Speaker 6: talk about it. We'll just subjectively talk about him. I
- 4:23Speaker 6: think it's I think it's a he's a really good coach.
- 4:25Speaker 6: I think he is kind of like they kind of
- 4:28Speaker 6: judge him like the media does and fans kind of
- 4:31Speaker 6: judge him in a way that is I think sometimes
- 4:35Speaker 6: kind of like unfair, Like if you're comparing him to
- 4:37Speaker 6: Save and stop the comparison like that.
- 4:38Speaker 5: I don't know why that would be the standard. That's
- 4:40Speaker 5: not been the standard of comparison to anyone else in
- 4:43Speaker 5: the history of college football, because he was the best
- 4:44Speaker 5: coach of all time. I think with debor listen, giving
- 4:47Speaker 5: him a contract extension this early of that amount is
- 4:51Speaker 5: kind of odd, and also the fact that you're doing
- 4:53Speaker 5: it without him winning an SEC championship, let alone a
- 4:56Speaker 5: national championship. I thought he had a great season last year,
- 4:59Speaker 5: eight two years deserving as the fifth highest paid coach.
- 5:03Speaker 5: Now you can all expect the argument he's seven and
- 5:05Speaker 5: two against the other coaches on that list, right, like
- 5:08Speaker 5: two and one against Kirby, one and one against Clark Lee.
- 5:13Speaker 5: But I think I think there's there's merit to him
- 5:15Speaker 5: being a good coach. I don't know if that's a
- 5:17Speaker 5: lot of money to shell out at a time when
- 5:19Speaker 5: you really didn't have to do it.
- 5:22Speaker 6: Looking at his contract details, Kalender Baller's new contract, he
- 5:25Speaker 6: is extended uh seven year extension twelve and a half
- 5:29Speaker 6: million dollar based annual salary and two Marler's point earlier,
- 5:34Speaker 6: there is a ninety His contract is. It's pretty nice.
- 5:38Speaker 6: Agent did a nice little job with this one. He
- 5:41Speaker 6: is owed ninety percent of whatever the remainder of that
- 5:44Speaker 6: contract is. So if he gets fired without cause, I
- 5:48Speaker 6: guess we got to throw that without cause, Kase, you
- 5:50Speaker 6: know you know something. There's a lot of cause talk
- 5:53Speaker 6: happening around here last last fall. If he gets fired
- 5:56Speaker 6: on February one, twenty twenty seven, he gets paid sixty
- 5:59Speaker 6: seven point five million dollars. February first, two thousand and
- 6:02Speaker 6: eight fifty six point twenty five and two thousand and
- 6:04Speaker 6: nine forty five million, two thousand and thirty he'll get
- 6:06Speaker 6: paid thirty three point seven five million, two thousand and
- 6:09Speaker 6: thirty one. That seems like a long time from now.
- 6:11Speaker 6: If he gets fired then still gets twenty two and
- 6:13Speaker 6: a half million dollars twenty thirty two eleven point twenty five.
- 6:18Speaker 5: But if he leaves, he owes ten right.
- 6:21Speaker 6: If he leaves in twenty twenty seven, he gets ten million.
- 6:24Speaker 6: He owes ten million if he leaves in twenty twenty
- 6:26Speaker 6: eighty ohs eight twenty nine oh six, and then after
- 6:30Speaker 6: that he can leave and oh zero dollars.
- 6:31Speaker 5: So here, here's the main takeaway I think with debor
- 6:34Speaker 5: and like I think that people should probably take away
- 6:37Speaker 5: from this is I don't think he's he was ever
- 6:40Speaker 5: on the hot seat the way that people outside of
- 6:42Speaker 5: Tuscaloosa have kind of made it seem. I think, like
- 6:45Speaker 5: the thing, I understand that Alabama fans are the least
- 6:48Speaker 5: rational fans in the in the sport, like, hands down
- 6:52Speaker 5: the worst fans in the sport. I think we can
- 6:54Speaker 5: all agree on that say that one time, Alabama fans
- 6:57Speaker 5: are notoriously like the worst of like the entire sport,
- 7:01Speaker 5: like Tennessee's tough on Twitter, Ohio State's bad. Okay, that's fair, so,
- 7:06Speaker 5: but Bama fans are not like known for being like
- 7:08Speaker 5: logical or reasonable as most l SEC fans aren't. But
- 7:11Speaker 5: at the same time, I think that the idea that
- 7:13Speaker 5: he was in the hot seat this year was always
- 7:16Speaker 5: kind of stupid because the people that are paying those
- 7:19Speaker 5: checks are not in buy out money and stuff like that.
- 7:21Speaker 5: It's not the irrational fans that are are that are
- 7:24Speaker 5: the most mad on Twitter, right Like, they're not people
- 7:27Speaker 5: that are freaking out on Twitter are not signing a
- 7:29Speaker 5: ninety one million dollar check to killin debor. So I
- 7:32Speaker 5: don't think he was ever on the hot seat saying
- 7:34Speaker 5: that the twenty and eight record is a deserving of
- 7:36Speaker 5: eighty seven and a half million. Now, that is a
- 7:39Speaker 5: question that I think is very valid.
- 7:42Speaker 3: Was there was there a need to resign him right now?
- 7:45Speaker 5: So there's also circulation that had happened earlier in the
- 7:48Speaker 5: offseason and they agreed on it. Now it's just like
- 7:50Speaker 5: they it.
- 7:51Speaker 6: Just seems like weird timing. It doesn't it's a lot awkward,
- 7:54Speaker 6: Like after two years.
- 7:56Speaker 5: If they did it earlier in his name was being
- 7:58Speaker 5: like leaked around to Penn State and then Michigan all
- 8:01Speaker 5: those things, then maybe it makes more sense than now.
- 8:03Speaker 5: This is like you're doing all of it in one
- 8:05Speaker 5: fil swoop.
- 8:05Speaker 3: With him NATO.
- 8:06Speaker 5: It's like I said, Courtney Morgan, you have the increase
- 8:08Speaker 5: in pay for his staff as well, but I mean,
- 8:10Speaker 5: you know, you have the timing of it. I feel
- 8:12Speaker 5: like there's almost has to be a little bit more
- 8:13Speaker 5: backstory than what we're given right now.
- 8:16Speaker 6: Yeah, it's kind of like in the NFL, like if
- 8:17Speaker 6: the good gms always signed their guys a year early
- 8:21Speaker 6: because it saves the money at the end of the day.
- 8:22Speaker 6: So is this this I mean, it seems like this
- 8:24Speaker 6: would be the situation for Alabama, like sign him now
- 8:28Speaker 6: before he has a great season, but they seem like
- 8:30Speaker 6: they paid him like he did already have that great season.
- 8:33Speaker 3: So yeah, I mean, oh, well, hopefully they make all
- 8:35Speaker 3: the mistakes.
- 8:37Speaker 5: That's a lot of money.
- 8:38Speaker 3: It's a lot of money.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Lot.
- 8:40Speaker 6: So with that being said, highest paid coaches in college
- 8:44Speaker 6: football Kirby Smart top of the list, thirteen point two
- 8:47Speaker 6: to eight million dollars per year, Kurtz Signetti thirteen point
- 8:51Speaker 6: two million, then Lane Kiffin holding down the three spot here, yeah,
- 8:54Speaker 6: thirteen million dollars, Ryan Day at twelve point six, and
- 8:58Speaker 6: now Kaitlyn Bauer Kleouer.
- 9:03Speaker 5: Also, you can make the argument out of the the
- 9:06Speaker 5: three of the top five, which is Deboor, then Day,
- 9:09Speaker 5: kiff and Signetti and then Smart Smart one, you can
- 9:14Speaker 5: make the case that that Kiffen has probably done maybe
- 9:18Speaker 5: done less, especially against the top competition. But I will
- 9:21Speaker 5: tell you right now that if I was just from
- 9:23Speaker 5: a fan standpoint, I would much rather have Kiffen than Debor,
- 9:27Speaker 5: you know what I mean, Yeah, like running the show,
- 9:29Speaker 5: not just offensively but running the show.
- 9:31Speaker 6: Yep, yep, yep. Is he get like, what's the ford?
- 9:37Speaker 6: As an Alabama fan again, of course for a while?
- 9:41Speaker 6: What's this? What does a successful tenure for him look like?
- 9:44Speaker 6: You have to win at all?
- 9:46Speaker 5: I mean, I think you I think that's probably the expectation.
- 9:49Speaker 5: Can we also talk about how difficult it is to
- 9:50Speaker 5: win a national championship though, so like, I don't think
- 9:53Speaker 5: Van fans are ever going to not have that expectation,
- 9:56Speaker 5: which is pretty stupid because you think about all the
- 9:58Speaker 5: bad coaches they have had, But that is always going
- 10:01Speaker 5: to be the expectation.
- 10:02Speaker 3: There and hopefully they never win it again.
- 10:06Speaker 5: That's totally fair. I just you know, I want everyone
- 10:09Speaker 5: to have fun and be friends.
- 10:10Speaker 3: Have fun friends.
- 10:12Speaker 6: Okay, so is there anybody Let's see, I'm trying to
- 10:15Speaker 6: think off top of my head Alabama players that are
- 10:22Speaker 6: threatened in the first round this year and.
- 10:25Speaker 5: Tie some similitude they've had. They've had at least two
- 10:28Speaker 5: players in the first round I think in nine straight years.
- 10:31Speaker 5: Last time I thinks it was when they only had
- 10:33Speaker 5: one was like Ryan Kelly got dressed by the Colts.
- 10:35Speaker 5: But I think you know what's interesting too is in
- 10:37Speaker 5: the kind of diverting from the Alabama stuff to keep
- 10:39Speaker 5: forcing on me is the.
- 10:41Speaker 6: Conference told me yesterday not to talk about it first,
- 10:43Speaker 6: which was really dumb.
- 10:45Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 10:45Speaker 6: Fair, I would probably never have even like it would
- 10:47Speaker 6: have connected even the dots, yeah in my head until
- 10:49Speaker 6: you said it.
- 10:50Speaker 5: Let's okay, like next time on, let's not talk about
- 10:53Speaker 5: how great I look, and let's not talk about how
- 10:56Speaker 5: successful I am.
- 10:57Speaker 6: Okay, okay, I asked your earlier if you could do
- 11:01Speaker 6: five push ups?
- 11:01Speaker 5: I could easily do five push ups. I could do
- 11:03Speaker 5: probably five and a half. I'm not doing it on
- 11:06Speaker 5: a camera, but I could.
- 11:07Speaker 3: I could do five. But we don't have to do
- 11:08Speaker 3: it on the camera. You can do it in the
- 11:09Speaker 3: grass right here.
- 11:10Speaker 5: Yeah, well, can we get it? If somebody brings me
- 11:13Speaker 5: a five hour I could probably do at least you
- 11:14Speaker 5: just had a five hour one push up for every
- 11:18Speaker 5: hour of energy I have.
- 11:19Speaker 3: That's the fifteen push ups.
- 11:21Speaker 5: That's tough, because.
- 11:22Speaker 3: That's not even including the foreigner milligrams at caffe you have.
- 11:24Speaker 5: Can we not do this right now? Ah? You know
- 11:28Speaker 5: I took it so casually because I just assumed I
- 11:31Speaker 5: was not on camera. And sure, now you know I
- 11:34Speaker 5: will say also user error on that assumption, because we're
- 11:37Speaker 5: looking right out a camera.
- 11:38Speaker 6: Yep, I'll barely even notice. How many times have you
- 11:41Speaker 6: chugged a five hour energy today that I didn't notice?
- 11:44Speaker 5: Think about that? Think about you keep looking at the scrolls.
- 11:46Speaker 5: Every time you look away to scroll five hour done
- 11:48Speaker 5: right right to the dome, scroll.
- 11:50Speaker 3: Right over there. You are really right there.
- 11:52Speaker 5: To ib out lost it when you said let's not
- 11:54Speaker 5: bring race into the squirrel stuff. That was.
- 11:59Speaker 3: So it's something to talk ab color.
- 12:00Speaker 5: Yeah, Matt Flynn, like you know, being the voice of
- 12:03Speaker 5: reason raining people. And we've only got forty eight more minutes.
- 12:06Speaker 3: What are we gonna do?
- 12:07Speaker 5: I'm gonna have three more five hours.
- 12:09Speaker 6: I'll tell you what what we are gonna have. And
- 12:11Speaker 6: like we have chef Michael Johnson coming up at nine thirty.
- 12:14Speaker 5: Do you think he's a glove guy.
- 12:16Speaker 6: No, he's not a glove guy. He's gonna know that
- 12:18Speaker 6: you're a glove guy. Though I can guarantee you that.
- 12:21Speaker 5: Everyone's a glove guy at heart. But you see some
- 12:23Speaker 5: of the chat about the gloves, No don't it is
- 12:28Speaker 5: real inappropriate. We talk about the triple X dent eight
- 12:30Speaker 5: or one hour at the nine to thirteen hour. These
- 12:32Speaker 5: guys are going insane.
- 12:33Speaker 3: Well, it's the chat. It's the chat. Thanks for being
- 12:35Speaker 3: a chat joiner every day, Bud.
- 12:38Speaker 5: I jump in there sometimes, do you? I jump in
- 12:41Speaker 5: there sometimes? But also my since I host the Locked
- 12:44Speaker 5: on South Carolina show, which we could have plugged a
- 12:46Speaker 5: lot more big from Columbia, South Carolina.
- 12:54Speaker 3: Wait, do you host the Locked on South Carolina? What
- 12:58Speaker 3: do you do?
- 12:58Speaker 5: You know anything about me?
- 13:00Speaker 3: Not that I know the the relevant stuff.
- 13:03Speaker 5: That yeah, that's I mean, like professionally.
- 13:06Speaker 3: I know you're Alabama diehards.
- 13:07Speaker 5: Did you stop with all of this objective member of
- 13:13Speaker 5: the media, Okay, lockdown South Carolina? You said yes? And
- 13:17Speaker 5: then and then I walked on locked on Cogs.
- 13:21Speaker 6: It is lots, locked on on Cox Okay, absolutely, Chris
- 13:28Speaker 6: Marlin locked on cocks.
- 13:29Speaker 3: So that's great.
- 13:31Speaker 5: But I'll like, I'll sometimes I'll forget that that's the
- 13:34Speaker 5: YouTube like profile I have, and so I'll be like, oh,
- 13:37Speaker 5: let me go join it on the fun listen to
- 13:39Speaker 5: the show because I like to support my friends, my
- 13:42Speaker 5: co workers, because I think after today, we're only one
- 13:44Speaker 5: of those things. To be honest, Matthew, and.
- 13:48Speaker 6: Maybe you were almost we were almost not coworkers earlier.
- 13:51Speaker 6: When you nearly drop.
- 13:53Speaker 5: The seventeen minutes word, some say it's too early for
- 13:56Speaker 5: an F.
- 13:56Speaker 3: Word they call they call that the big one they
- 13:58Speaker 3: do dropping a nuke.
- 14:00Speaker 5: Anyway, should we got a break, You're.
- 14:02Speaker 6: Not taking us to break right now. I'll tell you
- 14:05Speaker 6: what we are going to Tommy, in a little bit.
- 14:08Speaker 6: We are going to We are here at the Lshu
- 14:10Speaker 6: Parade Grounds. Of course, we've been telling you all morning
- 14:12Speaker 6: and you're gonna be hearing about it all day. From
- 14:14Speaker 6: all the shows, our show, Hot Palmer Show AFR later
- 14:17Speaker 6: with Matt Moscona. Like I said, I'm looking to my left,
- 14:20Speaker 6: let's see Michelle Southern, I see Brian how then all
- 14:22Speaker 6: the shows here from Guarantee from the Lshue Parade Grounds
- 14:25Speaker 6: for a fantastic cause, the Kate Swab event today. We
- 14:30Speaker 6: are on Team Kate today looking for a swab and
- 14:33Speaker 6: a bone marrow match. So people of all ages, if
- 14:37Speaker 6: you are willing and it speaks to you, but really
- 14:40Speaker 6: the best chance as ages eighteen to thirty five, that's
- 14:42Speaker 6: why they are doing these from college locations. It's the
- 14:45Speaker 6: best chance to find a match. So when we need
- 14:47Speaker 6: the match, we're gonna come. We are gonna go to
- 14:49Speaker 6: break here in a little bit and we're actually going
- 14:51Speaker 6: to be joined by Kate and her mom who are
- 14:54Speaker 6: doing an absolutely courageous thing. And I have these great
- 14:59Speaker 6: events trying to find to match, doing everything that they
- 15:02Speaker 6: can to find that bone marrow match. So I'm gonna
- 15:05Speaker 6: be getting swabbed today and we hope that you do too.
- 15:08Speaker 3: We hope that it speaks.
- 15:08Speaker 6: And if you can't make it in you can always
- 15:11Speaker 6: you can go online as well, and you can go

- 16:04Speaker 5: Could you spell lanyard?
- 16:07Speaker 6: I think it's the lanyard situation. I don't know if
- 16:09Speaker 6: it's an eye in there, I don't know. Well, we
- 16:11Speaker 6: can look that up. That's a really good question. I've
- 16:12Speaker 6: never had to spell lanyard before. Let's certainly know what
- 16:15Speaker 6: it is. But we are going to be joined by
- 16:19Speaker 6: Kate and her mom to kind of talk about the
- 16:21Speaker 6: event and kind of give us a little bit more
- 16:23Speaker 6: background on what it is, what they're what the illness is,
- 16:27Speaker 6: what that form of cancer is, and kind of what
- 16:29Speaker 6: they're looking for. So we're out here supporting Kate and
- 16:33Speaker 6: we are on team Kate today right here Kilesshoe Parade Grounds.

- 17:06Speaker 6: We've both got to use them to roll off dumpster

- 17:21Speaker 6: They got flat rate pricing, so they're not going to

- 17:44Speaker 1: Tigers turn talkers. This is off the Bench, right all.
- 17:50Speaker 6: Right, welcome back here to off the Bench. Nine twenty
- 17:53Speaker 6: am on a Thursday morning. It's draft day. Like we've
- 17:56Speaker 6: been telling you all day. I want to thank you
- 17:58Speaker 6: for joining and I want to thank everybody for listening to
- 18:00Speaker 6: end today. And if you've been been with us this morning,
- 18:04Speaker 6: or been with Eagle or been will talk one of
- 18:06Speaker 6: seven three at all this morning, you have seen that
- 18:08Speaker 6: we have been at the l s U Parade grounds
- 18:11Speaker 6: for our Swab for Kate event here today all day long,
- 18:15Speaker 6: and we are happy and so excited to be joined
- 18:18Speaker 6: by Kate and Kate and Kate's mom Jenny, y'all have
- 18:22Speaker 6: joined y'all, y'all joined us on this beautiful morning. Good morning, Kate,
- 18:25Speaker 6: how are you good?
- 18:27Speaker 3: I'm doing fantastic?
- 18:29Speaker 6: So I was just telling you about those squirrels I
- 18:30Speaker 6: saw on that tree earlier.
- 18:32Speaker 3: You saw them too.
- 18:33Speaker 6: That's there, I know it, I know it. How are
- 18:37Speaker 6: you doing today?
- 18:37Speaker 5: Good?
- 18:38Speaker 6: All right, fantastic. It's a beautiful day and we're excited
- 18:41Speaker 6: to be here. And we got Kate, missus, Jenny in
- 18:44Speaker 6: the house. Thank you for coming on.
- 18:45Speaker 7: This morning so we have this here.
- 18:48Speaker 6: Absolutely, we are so excited to be having our show
- 18:51Speaker 6: and having everybody here from our station all day long,
- 18:55Speaker 6: and we'll have the shows happening from one o four
- 18:58Speaker 6: or five all day long, the event today ten to
- 19:01Speaker 6: five for this little girl right here, and I want
- 19:05Speaker 6: to kind of just ask you, mom, kind of take
- 19:09Speaker 6: us back to everything from initial doctor's visits, diagnosis kind
- 19:15Speaker 6: of explained to our listeners.
- 19:16Speaker 3: I've done it.
- 19:17Speaker 6: I've talked about it today this morning, but I haven't
- 19:19Speaker 6: done it justice about exactly you know what Kate has
- 19:22Speaker 6: been going through, Kavin, what we're dealing with.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Sure, So we have known since Kate was a baby
- 19:28Speaker 2: that she had an inherited bone may of failure disorder,
- 19:31Speaker 2: and anyone who's familiar with anyone with a rare disease
- 19:34Speaker 2: knows that the journey to diagnosis can be long.
- 19:39Speaker 7: We've traveled to Boston.
- 19:41Speaker 2: We've had and we're now at Saint Jude, and ultimately
- 19:45Speaker 2: what we know is that she has a bone may
- 19:46Speaker 2: failure disorder. Essentially, her MIRO does not produce off the
- 19:49Speaker 2: blood cells that it needs to keep her healthy, that
- 19:51Speaker 2: includes red, white and platelets. Then in October, we got
- 19:57Speaker 2: some surprising test results back that she had developed a
- 19:59Speaker 2: TPE fifty three mutation.
- 20:02Speaker 7: At the time, I didn't even know what that was.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Now I know a lot about it, but it is
- 20:07Speaker 2: one of the most commonly mutated genes in cancer. So
- 20:10Speaker 2: what that tells her doctors is that there's something happening
- 20:13Speaker 2: in her marrow to suggest that she's developing a malignancy.
- 20:18Speaker 2: Where this gets complicated is we would need to transplant
- 20:22Speaker 2: before that happens. And the best five year transplant survival
- 20:27Speaker 2: rate is with a donor that's eighteen to thirty five
- 20:30Speaker 2: and well matched, and we don't have that yet. So
- 20:33Speaker 2: there's a lot in all of this that is out
- 20:35Speaker 2: of our control. Sure, one thing we can control is
- 20:38Speaker 2: trying to add as many people to the registry as
- 20:41Speaker 2: possible so that hopefully Kate's match joins.
- 20:45Speaker 6: Yeah, and so I'm sure you had to learn a
- 20:48Speaker 6: lot about all of this. And we started talking about
- 20:52Speaker 6: this as a station a couple of weeks ago, and
- 20:55Speaker 6: you know, I started looking at it and I'm.
- 20:56Speaker 3: Like, well, is it like blood type?
- 20:58Speaker 6: And the maritime is so much different than a blood type,
- 21:03Speaker 6: So what are the kind of the Why is it
- 21:07Speaker 6: so difficult to find that type of match?
- 21:09Speaker 7: That's a great question.
- 21:10Speaker 2: So the national it's really an international registry, is made
- 21:16Speaker 2: up of seventy percent Caucasian. You would think that Kate
- 21:19Speaker 2: would have a great shot. It's a numbers game at
- 21:22Speaker 2: having a match in there.
- 21:23Speaker 7: But that's also why.
- 21:24Speaker 2: There's such a purse, a push for diverse people to
- 21:27Speaker 2: join the registry.
- 21:28Speaker 7: We want everyone to have a match, not just Kate.
- 21:31Speaker 2: And when people join this registry on behalf of Kate,
- 21:34Speaker 2: they're in that international registry to be matched with anyone.
- 21:37Speaker 2: What they're going to look at when those samples come
- 21:40Speaker 2: in are the HLA markers, and the more that you have,
- 21:42Speaker 2: the better. The more HLA markers that match, the fewer
- 21:47Speaker 2: chances of complications for the patient who's going through transplant.
- 21:53Speaker 6: What is it like to I know you have done
- 21:55Speaker 6: a few of these events, right, yes, and most of
- 21:58Speaker 6: them at college universities because that's the age group, right,
- 22:01Speaker 6: it's eighteen thirty five.
- 22:02Speaker 3: What's it like when you know?
- 22:04Speaker 6: I can only imagine as a parent myself, what's been
- 22:08Speaker 6: like to see the support come out?
- 22:11Speaker 7: The support has been unbelievable.
- 22:13Speaker 2: We've hit Mississippi State University, University of Mississippi, University of Arkansas,
- 22:17Speaker 2: Delta State University, and now here at LSU and what.
- 22:22Speaker 7: We see really sort of renews your faith in humanity.
- 22:26Speaker 7: You know, we as a family are going through a
- 22:28Speaker 7: very difficult time.
- 22:30Speaker 2: But what we have learned through this process is the
- 22:33Speaker 2: kids are all right, like these college kids are stepping
- 22:36Speaker 2: up for a little girl they don't even know.
- 22:39Speaker 7: We're all going to be okay. You know.
- 22:40Speaker 2: You see all the stuff on the news about how
- 22:42Speaker 2: hard things are and how cruel people can be to
- 22:45Speaker 2: each other, but there's a lot of good people left
- 22:47Speaker 2: out there. Thousands and thousands of college students and others
- 22:51Speaker 2: have stepped up to swap to be a match for Kate,
- 22:53Speaker 2: and it's just been unbelievable.
- 22:56Speaker 7: I will tell you that we were unsure about Kate
- 22:59Speaker 7: going to the drives at first. We weren't sure how
- 23:03Speaker 7: that would be.
- 23:04Speaker 2: But those are the days that she's the happiest and
- 23:07Speaker 2: sort of the most alive. I think that it gives
- 23:10Speaker 2: her a lot of hope to see how many people
- 23:12Speaker 2: are willing to step up to help her, because she
- 23:15Speaker 2: understands the risks involved with not finding a match, and
- 23:19Speaker 2: so it's really it's really in the midst of something
- 23:22Speaker 2: very dark. It has been a very beautiful thing.
- 23:24Speaker 7: To watch happen.
- 23:25Speaker 3: Kate, How has that made you feel?
- 23:26Speaker 6: Seeing all these people that come out to try and
- 23:29Speaker 6: help you.
- 23:31Speaker 5: It makes me feel like happy and like I.
- 23:36Speaker 6: Know I would imagine that to see you that would
- 23:41Speaker 6: be you know, I'm trying to think of it as
- 23:42Speaker 6: how I would think at eleven years old, right, And
- 23:45Speaker 6: I can just tell that you have a good head
- 23:47Speaker 6: on your shoulders. You're smart and like mature beyond your
- 23:50Speaker 6: ears to be able to do this and kind of
- 23:53Speaker 6: understand and just.
- 23:54Speaker 3: Know that there's a lot of support Seff. But Mamma,
- 23:56Speaker 3: you're right.
- 23:57Speaker 6: It's like there's a lot of most of the things
- 23:59Speaker 6: we get fed in the news is all negative, right,
- 24:01Speaker 6: But there's a lot of good out there.
- 24:03Speaker 7: There's a lot of good out there that's exactly right.
- 24:05Speaker 6: And we and we know a lot of our listeners
- 24:07Speaker 6: and a lot of listeners of all our stations a
- 24:09Speaker 6: guaranteed media are there's a lot of good up there
- 24:12Speaker 6: as well. So of course we are asking everybody to
- 24:15Speaker 6: step up for Kate and everybody that has exactly that
- 24:20Speaker 6: needs to find that match as well.
- 24:22Speaker 7: That's right.
- 24:22Speaker 2: In the state of Louisiana alone, there's over five hundred
- 24:26Speaker 2: searching patients right now. So when you swab for Kate,
- 24:29Speaker 2: you know you could help one of those fellow Louisiana's
- 24:32Speaker 2: or there's over twelve thousand people in the United States
- 24:35Speaker 2: who are searching, so It's just a really great, easy
- 24:38Speaker 2: opportunity to save a life.
- 24:40Speaker 6: What can somebody expect if they come here to the
- 24:42Speaker 6: parade grounds or they go on the website and get
- 24:44Speaker 6: a swab kids, and what can they expect like the
- 24:46Speaker 6: process to be like if once they getting swabbed and
- 24:49Speaker 6: then after they get swabbed.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Sure, so the process to swab is unbelievably easy.
- 24:54Speaker 7: It takes less than five minutes.
- 24:56Speaker 2: You have a swab which is sort of like a
- 24:58Speaker 2: Q tip, and you just sort of swab the inside
- 25:00Speaker 2: of one side of your cheek for thirty seconds and
- 25:02Speaker 2: then the other side for thirty seconds, and that's it.
- 25:05Speaker 2: Drop it into the mail and it goes back off
- 25:07Speaker 2: to the lab. It takes about six to eight weeks
- 25:10Speaker 2: to process in the lab, and then you're in the
- 25:12Speaker 2: registry and can be matched from someone from.
- 25:14Speaker 7: All over the world.
- 25:16Speaker 2: One of the things that I've learned through this process
- 25:18Speaker 2: is that there's a lot of misinformation about what the
- 25:22Speaker 2: process if you're selected to be a donor is. Science
- 25:26Speaker 2: has come a really long way and now the process
- 25:29Speaker 2: to be a donor is very simple. It's much like
- 25:33Speaker 2: donating blood or plasma. It's just a few hours it's outpatient,
- 25:37Speaker 2: there's no surgical procedure. Ninety percent of the cases it's
- 25:40Speaker 2: handled in the short little afternoon and that's it. That's
- 25:45Speaker 2: all it takes to save a life.
- 25:46Speaker 3: That's right.
- 25:47Speaker 6: We all have one life to live and if we
- 25:49Speaker 6: can help save another, that is a that's something that
- 25:53Speaker 6: again we can all what a gift that would be.
- 25:56Speaker 6: All day here from ten to five, I believe.
- 25:58Speaker 2: Today it's right ten to five and ten to two
- 26:00Speaker 2: tomorrow at tend to two tomorrow on campus, and then
- 26:03Speaker 2: there's also the hospital locations in the Greater Banton Ruge
- 26:05Speaker 2: area for people that don't make it to campus out
- 26:08Speaker 2: there at fran you today and our Lady of the
- 26:11Speaker 2: Lake tomorrow.
- 26:12Speaker 3: Okay, all right, Kate, last question for you.
- 26:14Speaker 6: Okay, I know you've been a lot of different places
- 26:18Speaker 6: in the last couple of months, and I know you've
- 26:19Speaker 6: been to some colleges.
- 26:20Speaker 3: Well, we're a sports show. Sometimes we don't like those
- 26:23Speaker 3: other colleges when it comes to sports.
- 26:25Speaker 6: What's been your favorite college campus to go see?
- 26:29Speaker 2: Oh?
- 26:29Speaker 3: Miss, oh miss, oh no.
- 26:32Speaker 7: But we just got here. Let's see if you can
- 26:34Speaker 7: change your mind.
- 26:34Speaker 3: That's exactly right.
- 26:35Speaker 6: Well, I think it's a good ass that they do
- 26:37Speaker 6: have a nice campus. So good answer, okay, and we
- 26:40Speaker 6: wish y'all the best. We love being here, supporting y'all, Kate,
- 26:44Speaker 6: supporting you and uh lsu, let's step up, get swabbed lsu.
- 26:49Speaker 6: Let's find that match and let's save a life right here.
- 26:53Speaker 6: So thank y'all so much first for joining the show.

- 30:25Speaker 3: That's good.
- 30:25Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean I think get the wrong side of forty.
- 30:27Speaker 5: I'm really thriving already.
- 30:28Speaker 3: So I'm really just now hit my prime. I know
- 30:31Speaker 3: you are.
- 30:32Speaker 5: I don't think that we're I don't think that we're
- 30:33Speaker 5: on the same page with that we're.
- 30:35Speaker 3: On the same time prime.
- 30:36Speaker 5: No, we say the five push ups, I need two
- 30:40Speaker 5: more five.

- 30:52Speaker 6: I doubt it thirteen and a half. That's I'll go over.
- 30:55Speaker 3: Okay, sixteen and a half.
- 30:57Speaker 5: I can't hit you over.
- 30:59Speaker 3: I feel like I can twenty official over under nineteen
- 31:02Speaker 3: and a half. Yeah, push ups.
- 31:04Speaker 5: Listen. Here's the thing I'm in currently the best shape
- 31:06Speaker 5: of my year. Okay, jan one, we really turned things around.
- 31:10Speaker 5: Here's the other problem too, is like I am down
- 31:13Speaker 5: a significant amount from the start of the year that
- 31:16Speaker 5: I'm just back to my first weight when I moved here.
- 31:19Speaker 5: You guys, it's not conducive to I get married six
- 31:22Speaker 5: months from today. Okay from today. Congratulations, Thank you, Thank you, dude.
- 31:26Speaker 5: I appreciate that. Very excited in Baton Rouge because we
- 31:29Speaker 5: love Baton Rouge. It's a fall wedding. It's pretty brutal.

- 31:35Speaker 5: thank you. I'll tell you off air what I'm thinking,
- 31:37Speaker 5: and that is you love you. Chris is gonna get
- 31:40Speaker 5: a little break love that week. I love my fiance
- 31:42Speaker 5: and it's it's her idea, and we do you know.
- 31:45Speaker 3: She said, prove your love.
- 31:46Speaker 5: She said prove your love, and I said, well, how much.
- 31:49Speaker 5: We're getting married on a Friday. Though, So Saturday, we're
- 31:51Speaker 5: having a huge instead of like a send off brunch
- 31:54Speaker 5: like some people do, We're having a giant tailgate at
- 31:56Speaker 5: the house. We're gonna have a bunch of TVs. We're
- 31:57Speaker 5: gonna have much. It'll be it'll be a blast. And anyway,
- 32:02Speaker 5: what we're talking about for that Kevin Causer Kevin Costler.
- 32:06Speaker 6: Yeah, because that's a character from Brooklyn ninety nine. Kevin Coosner,
- 32:11Speaker 6: Kevin Costner.
- 32:13Speaker 3: It's a good show.
- 32:14Speaker 6: It's a great show. Kevin Costner is the actor from Drafted.
- 32:19Speaker 5: What is your favorite Kevin Costner movie? The World?
- 32:23Speaker 3: Water World's underrated.
- 32:25Speaker 5: It's very very much rated. It's so bad. Everyone's like
- 32:29Speaker 5: there's like this is gonna be the biggest movie.
- 32:32Speaker 6: There is a Kevin Costner movie where he's like a
- 32:35Speaker 6: serial killer.
- 32:37Speaker 5: Yeah, mister Brooks.
- 32:38Speaker 6: Mister Brooks, which I feel like is uh. I remember
- 32:41Speaker 6: watching it the first time rid of the DVD.
- 32:44Speaker 3: Okay, Yeah, and it was from the Good Box.
- 32:47Speaker 6: I mean I most recently know him from Yellows. I
- 32:50Speaker 6: mean I've seen probably seen most of Kevin Costner movies.
- 32:54Speaker 6: I'm just trying to think of, like, man, what really
- 32:57Speaker 6: is the list that I can just pull out of
- 32:59Speaker 6: my butt right.
- 32:59Speaker 7: Now to take over the ranch.
- 33:01Speaker 5: Yeah, that was the whole five seasons.
- 33:03Speaker 6: Yeah, until he had the contract dispute with Taylor Share.
- 33:07Speaker 6: Then he wasn't on that last he just they just
- 33:09Speaker 6: killed him.
- 33:10Speaker 5: I do love all the tailor shared and stuff.
- 33:12Speaker 3: Shoot.
- 33:13Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, that's only a couple years old. That's probably
- 33:15Speaker 6: the statute of limitation says, not run out on that one.
- 33:17Speaker 6: What he's going about of spoiling things? Oh yeah, no,
- 33:20Speaker 6: I probably should have said that.
- 33:21Speaker 5: I shouldn't at all. And if you ever have paramount
- 33:23Speaker 5: now you don't need to own it because that's no
- 33:25Speaker 5: free ads. But also they should why'd you do that?
- 33:29Speaker 5: That's honestly the worst thing that's happened on the show today,
- 33:31Speaker 5: for sure. I'm going to bring back that one guy
- 33:34Speaker 5: that was yelling off off camera live.
- 33:35Speaker 3: What was it yelling?
- 33:37Speaker 5: I'm glad you asked, so he was very much keeping
- 33:40Speaker 5: us abreast.
- 33:41Speaker 3: Great word, huh.
- 33:43Speaker 5: On the latest political issues of the nineteen eighty seven
- 33:48Speaker 5: political season.
- 33:49Speaker 6: Okay, the nineteen eighty seven Yeah, right, right before Kevin
- 33:52Speaker 6: Cosser hit his hot streak.
- 33:54Speaker 5: Wear white button ups, button downs, button downs, the close
- 33:58Speaker 5: button Caleb's cab downs. That's so much. I don't like
- 34:01Speaker 5: that at all. So here's the thing too, I've told
- 34:04Speaker 5: you I'm from Atlanta. That's the most Atlanta I felt
- 34:06Speaker 5: since I've moved to Beat and Rouge was well, okay.
- 34:09Speaker 3: We are near free speech alley.
- 34:11Speaker 5: Ooh, that's what I call Yeah, okay, So.
- 34:14Speaker 3: I mean he's it's America.
- 34:16Speaker 5: I love America.
- 34:17Speaker 3: He's free to just speak. Yeah, right, which is good.
- 34:19Speaker 5: Let's just good everyone, all yeah, not the rest of them?
- 34:26Speaker 3: All right, let's see, I'm looking at chemic Costa.
- 34:28Speaker 5: Is there a different other different alleys here on campus.
- 34:32Speaker 3: No, there's the not free speech alley.
- 34:34Speaker 5: Where's the one where you roll dice?
- 34:35Speaker 6: Because that's where I want to be, where you wear
- 34:38Speaker 6: leather jackets and walking.
- 34:40Speaker 3: I did.
- 34:42Speaker 5: So? Is that bad?
- 34:44Speaker 3: Not bad?
- 34:44Speaker 5: What's your favorite musical?
- 34:46Speaker 3: Fani of the opera?
- 34:47Speaker 5: You have one that's so lame? What a loser? What
- 34:50Speaker 5: a loser.
- 34:50Speaker 6: I grew up going to the theater, Not a big deal.
- 34:53Speaker 6: I got a sister that lives in New York. She's
- 34:55Speaker 6: part of the theater.
- 34:56Speaker 5: It really so.
- 34:57Speaker 6: I grew up very cultured, Bud. I don't believe you're
- 34:59Speaker 6: not gonna make fun of this.
- 35:01Speaker 5: I will I mean didn't land. I mean it didn't
- 35:03Speaker 5: land at all?
- 35:04Speaker 3: Didn't the opera android Webber? Are you kidding me?
- 35:07Speaker 5: He's my favorite favorite vice president.
- 35:09Speaker 3: Andrew D.
- 35:10Speaker 5: Webber was really good.
- 35:11Speaker 3: I think.
- 35:11Speaker 5: Also, rent are Book of Mormon. You've seen Book of Mormon.
- 35:14Speaker 3: I have same Book of Mormon.
- 35:15Speaker 5: Look and Mormon's good.
- 35:17Speaker 3: You can't. You have to have thick skin see that one?
- 35:20Speaker 5: Not for me?
- 35:21Speaker 3: Oh, or just be a South.
- 35:22Speaker 5: Park man, yeah, or you know, you might have a
- 35:24Speaker 5: lot of takes on Mormons. Mormons. I'll tell you a
- 35:26Speaker 5: thing about Mormons. It always cracks me up. Do you know,
- 35:31Speaker 5: no adults, I'm basically this all of secret lives and
- 35:34Speaker 5: Mormon wives. No adults should be drinking that mini sodas
- 35:38Speaker 5: in a day. It's insane to that's if you are
- 35:40Speaker 5: in your if you're thirty two, and I'm not a
- 35:43Speaker 5: beacon of health, I think we all know that. But
- 35:45Speaker 5: if you're thirty two and you're drinking sixty four ounces
- 35:49Speaker 5: of doctor pepper in a day on a Tuesday, that's
- 35:52Speaker 5: crazy regular Yeah, full throttle, full throttle, full DP. No,
- 36:04Speaker 5: I'm not gonna be invited back then. There, that's right,
- 36:10Speaker 5: can we also say real quick, Chris Marlin, PK. I
- 36:17Speaker 5: will also say that the somebody in the chat said
- 36:21Speaker 5: Chris Marler looks like he could put his hand in
- 36:24Speaker 5: the dirt dot dot dot and then beat the blank
- 36:28Speaker 5: out of someone in Pokemon. And whoever wrote that you
- 36:32Speaker 5: win for common of the day, that was the best.
- 36:34Speaker 3: It's Pokemon, a thing you can play. I know you
- 36:36Speaker 3: get cards.
- 36:37Speaker 5: Well, I think that's yeah.
- 36:39Speaker 3: I don't know. I thought it was a show or something.
- 36:42Speaker 5: That's actually a good point.
- 36:42Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 36:43Speaker 5: I don't.
- 36:43Speaker 3: I mean, like, I know they have the cards, but
- 36:45Speaker 3: are they gaming cards.
- 36:47Speaker 5: I don't know if the Pokemon should be talking about
- 36:49Speaker 5: Pokemon on campus, but I don't really know about it.
- 36:51Speaker 3: I don't care what Ali we're in.
- 36:52Speaker 5: This is not Pokemon al You know what I mean, brother.
- 36:54Speaker 3: I can't be Pokemon Go. I have the app on
- 36:57Speaker 3: my phone.
- 36:57Speaker 5: Where is Pokemon Go?
- 36:58Speaker 3: Alley? You know what I'm saying? Take to Ali to
- 37:02Speaker 3: do that? Oh DP king over here, Chris Marler.
- 37:07Speaker 5: I don't think you know who I am, Sir, Chris Marlin.
- 37:11Speaker 3: I love I walked on cos podcast.
- 37:17Speaker 5: First and last say, honestly, it took us over two and.
- 37:21Speaker 3: A half hours to get to this point. I think
- 37:23Speaker 3: I think we did pretty good.
- 37:24Speaker 5: I think we did. I think people together, people had
- 37:26Speaker 5: expectations that he was going to go a lot. We
- 37:29Speaker 5: were not going to last this long. Yeah, taking a
- 37:32Speaker 5: DP king.
- 37:33Speaker 6: Relax, Okay, Kevin cost movies, Draft Days your favorite.
- 37:38Speaker 5: Let's see them up right now.
- 37:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:39Speaker 6: Oh man, we got Dances with the Wolves. That's that's
- 37:42Speaker 6: his white button up days.
- 37:44Speaker 5: Yeah, that was a tough one. It was a long one.
- 37:46Speaker 3: Love of the Game, Field of Dreams.
- 37:48Speaker 5: Love of the Game was very swing vote.
- 37:50Speaker 3: Don't remember that one. You think swing voats.
- 37:53Speaker 5: So I'll tell you right now that I based a lot,
- 37:56Speaker 5: like like twenty year old Chris based a lot of
- 37:59Speaker 5: his political ideologies on JFK.
- 38:02Speaker 3: And then I found out.
- 38:02Speaker 5: Later it was just an Oliver Stone movie. That was
- 38:04Speaker 5: all very very far fetched.
- 38:07Speaker 3: Okay.
- 38:07Speaker 5: Part of it took place in the Baton Rouge, I
- 38:09Speaker 5: mean New Orleans.
- 38:10Speaker 3: Okay, fair enough, Bull Durham, great movie. Also, he was
- 38:14Speaker 3: a minor league baseball player.
- 38:15Speaker 5: He a do you know that? Like that's when he
- 38:18Speaker 5: when he's hitting in that movie, like like he is
- 38:21Speaker 5: an opposite field home run to It's like at the
- 38:22Speaker 5: end of the movie. That's really him hitting. He was
- 38:24Speaker 5: a triple A baseball player. Okay, yeah, got a fun fact.
- 38:28Speaker 5: That was real fun. I had fun. Yeah, didn't really
- 38:31Speaker 5: show in your face. Bodyguard great listen, I'm raised by
- 38:36Speaker 5: a single mom. That was that was in the rotation
- 38:38Speaker 5: cham Yeah, that was a great movie. Whitney and him. Yeah,
- 38:41Speaker 5: that was a big turtleneck Costner.
- 38:44Speaker 6: Do you think if Kevin Cosser was the GM uh
- 38:47Speaker 6: huh for the Saints, he would find a way to
- 38:50Speaker 6: get the first and third pick overall?
- 38:53Speaker 3: Didn't he do that with the Browns?
- 38:54Speaker 5: I think he got like, yeah, it was it was
- 38:55Speaker 5: a weird very he took the quarterback. Yeah, I don't know.
- 39:01Speaker 5: We don't if the breakdown but what he did there?
- 39:02Speaker 5: Should we talk more about the draft though?
- 39:04Speaker 3: Sure, Bud, what do you so?
- 39:06Speaker 5: Let me a big picture here, sec. Yeah, do you
- 39:09Speaker 5: think they get over eight and a half picks in
- 39:10Speaker 5: the first round, because that's that's where the line is.
- 39:11Speaker 5: They're they're in danger of having the least amounts of
- 39:14Speaker 5: first round picks if they had fifteen. A year ago,
- 39:17Speaker 5: SEC set or tied their own record of fifteen, and
- 39:20Speaker 5: that was the year where you had the Big two
- 39:22Speaker 5: of the Power four. Right, the SEC and the Big
- 39:24Speaker 5: Ten had twenty six of the first thirty two picks
- 39:27Speaker 5: of the draft that went there were from either those
- 39:30Speaker 5: two schools. And he also think too, that's like now
- 39:32Speaker 5: with the Big Ten having eighteen teams and still having
- 39:34Speaker 5: that name, which is stupid, the SEC having sixteen teams,
- 39:37Speaker 5: thirty four teams. Half of the power power four comes
- 39:41Speaker 5: from those two conferences, and you are I mean.
- 39:44Speaker 3: Well, let's count me. You got months we're doing Monroe free.
- 39:49Speaker 5: I'd like him a lot. Kaden Proctor will be McCoy.
- 39:52Speaker 5: He might slip out, but Colton Hood from Tennessee will also.
- 39:55Speaker 5: He might jump up to CB number two. So that's four.
- 39:58Speaker 3: It's going to be tight. Man, is there an actual
- 40:01Speaker 3: open or under? So it's eight and a half.
- 40:03Speaker 5: So so like I look at like so Casey conception
- 40:06Speaker 5: on round Keldric Falk both of their odds or minus
- 40:09Speaker 5: seven hundred.
- 40:10Speaker 6: Casey is going to go there minus seven, Casey minus
- 40:13Speaker 6: seven under. Okay, I thought he was kind of a
- 40:16Speaker 6: fringe first high second, Yeah.
- 40:18Speaker 5: He'll be. He'll be I think probably between twenty and
- 40:20Speaker 5: twenty six. Probably there's and there's also like the receiver position.
- 40:25Speaker 5: That's every year. I think the total for receivers in
- 40:27Speaker 5: the first round right now is seven and a half. Yep,
- 40:29Speaker 5: Like there's a lot of receivers in this trap.
- 40:31Speaker 6: Yeah, it's going to be. It's a it's a very
- 40:33Speaker 6: deep edge class. And so we'll see if there's a
- 40:36Speaker 6: run on that because you got guys right on that
- 40:39Speaker 6: bubble out Zion and Cash is how you have them
- 40:42Speaker 6: kind of right on the bubble whether they go and
- 40:44Speaker 6: then Ty Simpson is going to play a big part
- 40:45Speaker 6: in that getting too. I think I'm gonna go with
- 40:47Speaker 6: Over just because I just think it's you know, I can't.
- 40:52Speaker 6: I'm not going to take under on an SEC first
- 40:54Speaker 6: round pick over Under.
- 40:55Speaker 5: I agree with that part a lot. And I also
- 40:57Speaker 5: think that just like without any sort of bias aside,
- 40:59Speaker 5: I think you'll start seeing in the later part of
- 41:01Speaker 5: the first round what we see a lot of times
- 41:03Speaker 5: out of places like Philly and other other you know,
- 41:05Speaker 5: front offices, where you're going to default to some SEC program. C. J.
- 41:09Speaker 5: Allen is a guy that is fringe first round. I
- 41:11Speaker 5: think is his odds are right now at plus one
- 41:13Speaker 5: seventy five to be in the first round, so he
- 41:14Speaker 5: doesn't have like positive odds there. But also as a
- 41:17Speaker 5: guy from the linebacker Georgia who was up for the buckets,
- 41:20Speaker 5: I think you're gonna have a GM that's gonna have
- 41:22Speaker 5: a hard time passing on that.
- 41:23Speaker 6: All right, well, there you have it. That's your draft
- 41:26Speaker 6: talk for off the Bench before that first round. We
- 41:29Speaker 6: got one more segment left here on the off the
- 41:31Speaker 6: bench this morning, and it's gonna be a little asked
- 41:33Speaker 6: the Bench brought to you by Doseki. So I know
- 41:36Speaker 6: y'all got some questions for Marler. Go ahead, get in
- 41:38Speaker 6: the chat here to get your questions in. We're gonna

- 41:42Speaker 6: ask the Bench brought to you by do Seqi's right here.

- 44:29Speaker 5: I think feet picks are the growing emerging economy that
- 44:32Speaker 5: we're going to be. I think there's a lot of
- 44:34Speaker 5: growth there and that that uh that what's the word
- 44:37Speaker 5: you're looking for? What's it called?
- 44:39Speaker 3: Pyramid?
