- 0:01Because fuck you. That's why is a founding member of the Odd Pods Media
- 0:04Network. You're listening to the cool dulcent tones of pencils Aaron on W A
- 0:42A S Radio on this episode of b f y t w's Radio Edition.
- 0:51I don't know how to do like a radio sign on, like about a
- 0:57radio. Thankfully, thankfully we have experts here. Oh we can tell us
- 1:03how it's true. Joining us for this episode of b fy tw R,
- 1:07John and Gina from The Fink Show. Hey, Hey, Hello, good
- 1:14morning guys. So happy to have you again. We had such a blast
- 1:18last time, and I can't help but feel it's going to be the same
- 1:19this time. Although last time I don't think it was the themed episode,
- 1:23except I just kept using your name Fink as like a basis for all the
- 1:26games that we were playing. I mean, I had no complaints. Now
- 1:34this time it's actually going to be an episode all about radio, morning radio
- 1:38and other kinds of radio. So also my wheelhouse great. I love it
- 1:42so so John would naturally have an advantage seeing that you run your own little
- 1:48radio show and you actually do radio for was it k Rock? I appreciate
- 1:53the thought. No, I actually am a reporter anchor for iHeartRadio. That's
- 1:57it. So I have news reports that go across the entire Central Valley of
- 2:02California and Alaska, hell Man, and then I do live reports on the
- 2:07local news station. So I have that you're listening to thing ready to go?
- 2:14Yeah? It was those badass all right, so cool. I'm excited.
- 2:20So I don't know how we want to do teams? Do we want
- 2:23to stick to having the dream team versus our guests together? That work for
- 2:28everybody? Whatever you want? All right, Mornings, Let's run through our
- 2:36introductions real quick before we start playing some games. Uh, and I will
- 2:39start with our guests since they were kind enough to join us. Uh,
- 2:44Gina, Hi, I am in Hey, Gina. So like present shows
- 2:52excluded, what would you say is your favorite radio thing ever? Could be
- 2:58an event, could be a show, could be a personality. Is there
- 3:01something a particular thing that's tied to radio that you absolutely adore. I gotta
- 3:07go with my man, Ralph Garman, who was on Rock. Yeah.
- 3:12They brought me into the whole world of the Garmye that I don't know if
- 3:16we're all a part of, if you and Aggie are, but man k
- 3:22Rock was just so funny and so many bits and me going through long days
- 3:27at the post office. Hell yeah, hell yeah, I see we were
- 3:31gonna say something. The post office just scared me. I got like chills
- 3:36up my back when you said long hours at the post office. I was
- 3:38like, oh God, what was that. I assume she was working there
- 3:42and not just waiting to deliver a single letter, right, okay, okay?
- 3:46Cool? And John yourself, of course, seeing that you have a
- 3:53career in radio, this should be interesting like were you inspired? Were you
- 3:55inspired by it to become part of the radio world, or or I was
- 4:00Yeah, I actually I fell in love with morning radio, you know,
- 4:05getting driven to school when I was a young kid, and then driving myself
- 4:09to school. There was a local San Diego morning radio show that we listened
- 4:15to growing up called Dave, Shelley and Chainsaw. And then it's been a
- 4:19cool full circle moment. When I started there, some of the remaining members
- 4:23of that radio show were my officemates and stuff, so I've got a chance
- 4:29to kind of converse with them and check in. And you know, you
- 4:33were talking about favorite moments, though, I think one of my favorite moments
- 4:38I was reminded of because we recently had April Fool's Day. Is that radio
- 4:43show pooled the entire city and a little bit of the country into thinking the
- 4:49Space Shuttle was going to land on a small residential air strip just outside of
- 4:56San Diego and had had fake astronauts calling him like getting into the They had
- 5:08thousands of people show up to this tiny little airport here in San Diego called
- 5:12Montgomery Field, which is you know, out in the middle of nowhere,
- 5:15and they had to have police like direct traffic and all this stuff just for
- 5:20an April Fools joke. Oh my god, it was calling to local yes,
- 5:30And when they actually dropped it, they dropped it as an astronaut.
- 5:33I'm sorry, did we forget to read this? One part of it was
- 5:38that April Fools and everybody's like, oh no, that was That was an
- 5:46epic, epic San Diego based radio moment. That is fantastic. That is
- 5:53absolutely fantastic. Well excellent, and your opponents our dream team, Steve might
- 6:00as well start with Stevie since he's giggling, Hi, Stevie, you do
- 6:03it so target, damn it. Feel free to copy someone's answer if you
- 6:11want, Yeah, feeling you might but do you have a favorite radio thing.
- 6:15I'll tell you from when I was younger, when I listened to radio
- 6:18a lot more because obviously I don't really anymore. It's so rare I turn
- 6:21even turn the radio on. Before it was all the radio concerts they would
- 6:27do, like you'd actually have radio stations put together concerts, and at least
- 6:30in our area, we had that a lot, like the rock stations and
- 6:32STUF would always say these concerts in the spring and summer, and it was
- 6:35amazing. I would go to like almost all of them. Either it was
- 6:39free or it was really cheap, or you'd win tickets on the radio stations.
- 6:43And I always loved that because they allowed like everybody to come and just
- 6:46like rock out and just party like I love that stuff, man, I
- 6:49love it. Yeah, man. And that's like me and my dad connect
- 6:51over like jazz music. Like we went to a few jazz concerts and stuff,
- 6:56and I was like, oh crap, my dad loves jazz and he
- 6:58plays it now all the time. It's awesome. Yeah, it's super cool.
- 7:00Yeah man. And you were teammate, Augie, what's going on?
- 7:05Same question? Do you have a favorite radio thing? So I kind of
- 7:10wish they did this more. But I remember hearing about the radio broadcast of
- 7:17I can't remember his name who did read War of the Worlds and people thought
- 7:24like, yeah, yeah, I thank you, and and they thought like
- 7:29the world was actually ending, Like they need to do more of that where
- 7:32they just do like cold readings please, like it's it's it's it's fascinating and
- 7:41it's something they should do, like on Halloween where they just read a horror
- 7:44story. Yeah, okay, maybe a bit more of context tool that it's
- 7:46a horror story and not something actually happening, but like, I that's other
- 7:54than that. Yeah, it's like one of the cool things about radio is
- 7:57just how it's like a precursor to everything we do know. Hell yeah,
- 8:01man, maybe we can collaborate radio play there, Yeah, crazy radio play.
- 8:07I'm down. I'd be on board on Orson Wells. Fact. His
- 8:13final performance was voicing Unicorn in the Transformers movie The One You Cry On.
- 8:22Yes, I remember, I remember crying. I remember trying to. It
- 8:28was just this morning I have to in order to come Okay, So it
- 8:37really is the best loop. Tears are good lubes. The woman let me
- 8:43say that's so hot. Alright, a submissive man right here. Yeah,
- 9:01yeah, sorry, sorry you saw the tears lashing tears. Here we go
- 9:15again. All right, Well, I am your host pantsils Aaron and my
- 9:20favorite radio fame. When I was in middle school, I really really enjoyed
- 9:24the song Megadeth song Sweating Bullets, and I tried to find a way to
- 9:30record it. I find I tried to find a way to record it somewhere,
- 9:33but I couldn't, Like I was never never caught it on like v
- 9:37H one or MTV on time to catch it on video, but I really
- 9:41wanted to catch it on tape. So I listened to the radio and I
- 9:43would come on like one O three point three every now and then, but
- 9:48I would always get late to it, and I'd always get mad, and
- 9:50I'm like, damn, they never play it like when I'm ready, you
- 9:54know. And then finally, one day out of nowhere, the guy announced
- 9:56it. He's like, coming up after the break, I'm gonna do some
- 9:58Sweating Bullets. I mean, I'm like, sweet, I have time.
- 10:01I set up the tape, got all ready, and then when the when
- 10:05the commercial cut off, I just hit record and it just caught it perfectly,
- 10:11and I wore that tape out, like I listened to the crap over
- 10:13it, and I was so happy and grateful, and I was like,
- 10:16it's awesome, you know. But I also listened to a lot of one
- 10:20point one three point three in that time, and listened to a lot of
- 10:22other songs that eventually became part of my collection of songs to listen to as
- 10:26well. So I got a lot of joy out of the radio, especially
- 10:30as a kid. So, yeah, yeah, can you give us a
- 10:33good Hello me? It's Hello me, It's me again? Yes, Yes,
- 10:43And what an opportunity because you don't have at the beginning of every recording
- 10:46of that song, then you're not hearing trying to set up the recorder.
- 10:52Yeah, it's a lot easier now if I'd know, and I would have
- 10:56just waited l thirty years. Yeah, just save to us someone. I'm
- 11:03like, I'll just be able to pay that pleasure. I've paid ninety nine
- 11:05cents and download it onto every item of my own. Okay, so we're
- 11:11gonna get started. We're gonna play three games, all tied into radio in
- 11:15some way or another. And our first game is called being Errand I've got
- 11:18five pairs of things and all our players have to do is tell me which
- 11:22one of the two things is real, and if they're correct, they'll get
- 11:26a point. But at least once during the game, both items will be
- 11:31real. And if you successfully if you can successfully say when both items are
- 11:37real, that is called being errand. And if you can successfully guess when
- 11:41you're being errand, you get two points. So keep an eye out,
- 11:46try not to get caught. The team with the most points after all five
- 11:48pairs will win the game and earn one episode points. So, as John
- 11:54and Gina are our guests, I'm gonna suggest they go second, and you
- 11:56guys go first. And all of your all of your pairs of items,
- 12:03all of them are morning radio shows. You just have to tell me is
- 12:07this a real morning radio show or is it fake? Did I make it
- 12:11up? Okay? Both real? Or are they both real? All?
- 12:16R right? So here's the first pair. You're both teams are gonna give
- 12:20me an answer, but I'm gonna ask Steven Oggi first, the Morning Hangover
- 12:24or the Morning Garbage? Now, Aggie, I know the Morning Hangover is
- 12:31a real show. I don't know about the Garbage, but it wouldn't surprise
- 12:35me. Cool like these would be official, like actually, like they have
- 12:37numbers, actual official mainstream radio show, not like two people in a basement.
- 12:43Okay, what do you think? Uhia? I wish, I wish,
- 12:50I wish I could offer input in here. But the only thing about
- 12:52the Morning Garbage is me being told to take out the garbage in the morning.
- 12:58So I'm gonna go on your gun on whatever that is. Oh great,
- 13:01We're gonna go with just the first one, just a correct Okay,
- 13:05John and Gina, what do you think, Gosh, the Morning Garbage?
- 13:15I I look you, you already tipped your hand for the first one.
- 13:16The Morning Hangover does sound like a great radio show name already. Anyway,
- 13:22I feel like that's the real one. Yeah, I also, Gina,
- 13:28Yes, the Morning Garbage. I guess we will agree. Yes, we're
- 13:33going to agree. Get the square. Okay, Well you both say a
- 13:37and you both get a point. You're absolutely right, rockey the Morning.
- 13:41The Morning Hangover is a very popular show in Saint Louis, and the Morning
- 13:46Garbage is what Aggie takes out in the morning. All right, so let's
- 13:54list in that garbage. Let's move on to our second set. This time,
- 13:56John and Gina you will answer first, so maybe be more careful then,
- 14:00Stevie was about tipping your hand. You have the Morning Freak Show and
- 14:07the Morning Riot. O you both sound legit? Yeah, I had to
- 14:18pick one, I'd say Riot, but I know there's one secret one in
- 14:22there. At least one of the five pairs will be you're being errand and
- 14:30they're both secretly answer John, that's right. I say we're going to go
- 14:39with both. You think you're being errand, we think we're being errand,
- 14:41all right, which you know is a new term for me. But I
- 14:46guess I'll change what I normally call that. I have to have a cream
- 14:48for that. Steve first measure prophylactics. The Morning Freak Show or the Morning
- 15:13Riot. Do you think one of these is correct? Or do you think
- 15:16they both? Are? They already answered Morning Riot sounds like it's a real
- 15:22one. I was. The Morning Riot sounds familiar. I don't know about
- 15:24the other one. Well, I'll just go with Morning Riot on Yeah,
- 15:26rock on Morning Riot, sir, Morning Riot. So you're going b yeah,
- 15:31and John and Gina say they're being errand and the fact is you were
- 15:35being errand. That is two points for John and Gina. Yeah, the
- 15:39Freak Show is in Pittsburgh and the Morning Riot is in Saint Lucia in the
- 15:46Caribbean. Oh, they definitely start off their day with one of these.
- 15:52Yeah, I should say I think most of these are syndicated to They can
- 15:56be heard elsewhere, but that's where they originate. Okay, so let's move
- 16:02on to our third set, and this time, Stevie and Aggie, you
- 16:03will go first the Morning Playhouse or the Morning Mashup. Oh that's dirty,
- 16:17dirty fudge. Oh man, you got nothing, I have one? Oh
- 16:22good, what do you think? I think it's just the Morning Mashup.
- 16:26I think that's just that one. Let's go with Aggie, just the mashup,
- 16:30sir. Okay, you're going to be yes, all right? John?
- 16:34And what do you think the Morning Playhouse can time? I think you
- 16:41said it was only once, per I said at least once. At least
- 16:45at least once, Oh my goodness, with wordshouse amongst other things. Yeah,
- 16:53I'm feeling playhouse. Honestly, let's say that one. Okay, we're
- 16:57gonna go with just playhouse. Okay, so you're going with A and Steve
- 17:02and Augie have said B and the fact of the matter was you were being
- 17:07Aaron already. I was sorry. Playhouse is in Fargo and mash Up is
- 17:18on Sirius XM. No way, I alright. They gotta be a music
- 17:23heavy morning show. So we're going back to John and Gina to start with.
- 17:30And here's the next pair of morning shows. Free Beer and Hot Wings
- 17:37deal or the Breakfast Club? Oh? Those both legit? Yeah? Right,
- 17:52yeah, I yeah, I say Free Bear and Hot Wings is too
- 17:59much for for a radio Okay, this is my logic behind this. Free
- 18:03Beer and Hot Wings is a great radio show name, but it's too much
- 18:08of a mouthful for a morning show. You need to be able to market
- 18:11these a little bit more. Breakfast Club is a nicer hit. So I
- 18:18think Gene and I both agree it's breakfast Club. So you're going to be
- 18:22Steve and AUGI what do you say? The Free Beer and Hot Wings sounds
- 18:26like more like a podcast than a radio show, like you guys said a
- 18:32little too long. Do you agree with that, Augure, Do you think
- 18:33we're being Yeah, but how do they get away? What's calling it the
- 18:37breakfast club? Oh? They you can. I don't see why not.
- 18:41It's a different thing. It's not like it's the movie. Ye taking away
- 18:47from a movie breakfast don't come and kick your butt. So I'm at a
- 18:59loss. Otherwise, I think it's just a breathless club man. I really
- 19:03do think, Yeah, I do. I'm probably wrong, but I think
- 19:07it is okay. So both teams are saying be the Breakfast Club okay,
- 19:12and you're being errand again they're both holy ship, they're both real. Beer
- 19:19and Hot Wings is syndicated and the other one, the Breakfast Club, is
- 19:25from New York City. Of course it is. Yeah, that makes sense.
- 19:29They were both real and that was another chance. Okay, So here
- 19:34is the last pair of items, and once again we'll go with Steve,
- 19:37you and Aggie. First. The jam In Morning Show or Rovers Morning Glory
- 19:45is jam jam In Like jam In, it is spelled j A m apostrophe
- 19:52and capital N. Okay, damn thinking b I'm going with Aggie. All
- 20:04he knows he's talking about we're going be okay. So you're saying b Rovers
- 20:08Morning Glory. Confused. No, I want to talk about with confidence in
- 20:11When I'm speaking John and Gina, what do you say, ah, when
- 20:18you're thinking that they that you're erranding us again and they both are real a
- 20:23fourth time. All right, so you're saying you're being Errand and Stevie and
- 20:33you say b correct correct answer is you weren't being Errand before. Yes,
- 20:42Jammin is another Saint Louis show, and Rovers Morning Glory is out of Cleveland.
- 20:48Come on. I was delighted as hell when I went to random dot
- 20:56org and asked for a random number from one to five and it gave me
- 20:59a big old fat four. They're gonna get airand four times. That's awesome.
- 21:07It's it's all random, so I can't like plan anything or try to
- 21:11mess with you deliberately. Okay. In San Diego we have a jam in
- 21:17z ninety here, so I was like, oh, already, that's half
- 21:18of it. So yeah, gotta be a plausible is Rovers Morning clor seriously
- 21:26should it just called was out of It? Is out of Cleveland? Oh
- 21:33yeah? Oh yah yeah, where all the dog directions are? Okay?
- 21:37So after that that is our last pair of things. And the score is
- 21:42stev and a you have one point. Yeah, John and Gina have five
- 21:47point. They have won the game and earned themselves one episode point. Congratulations,
- 21:52great start. I get to have an episode later. It's not over
- 21:59yet. We're gonna move on to game two. Game two is worth two
- 22:02episode points, and we're gonna play that game right after this. Hey there,
- 22:17I'm Dave, the host of Beer in Front. Sometimes the beer in
- 22:21front of you is the best one yet. I'll talk about some old school
- 22:26beers that maybe you've forgotten about, some new beers that have the potential to
- 22:30be a classic. I'll also talk to various people around the beer world and
- 22:37get their stories all about beer. That's Beer in Front and it's available on
- 22:42all of your favorite podcast apps. You're listening to w as the radio station
- 23:03all about by DW putting on an episode about radio, and I'm your announcer
- 23:08and host pants erin and we returned for game two. Game two is gonna
- 23:12be finished the story. I've got five stories of real things that Stevie's just
- 23:18lost. It just did not expect me to come back in What did I
- 23:23do? I've got five stories of real things that happen during radio shows.
- 23:30But I'm gonna leave the story incomplete. Each player will have to finish the
- 23:34story themselves, and the funniest answer out of all four of you gets a
- 23:37point. But you can also get a point by finishing the story correctly.
- 23:44The team at the most points after five stories wins and earns two episode points.
- 23:48See, you know you lost the last game, so you can decide
- 23:51which team goes first this time around. We went first last time, right,
- 23:56Yeah, so let's let's make them go first. Yeah, guys cursed?
- 24:00I don't know? All right, John, can you decide before I
- 24:03tell you the story? Can you decide which one of you would like to
- 24:06go first? Jane Bolts should probably go first. Okay, I'll go first.
- 24:11All right. I'm going to give you the beginning part of a story
- 24:15and you just go ahead and finish it however you want. So here's the
- 24:19story. In nineteen ninety seven, syndicated talk show host Art Bell got a
- 24:25caller who claimed to work in an unusual place. I'm saying he knows,
- 24:33but I don't know. He got a call from a person who works in
- 24:44the back of a Denny's brown Bacon specials. He's like, I've had it.
- 24:56This was in nineteen ninety seven, so it would have been about the
- 25:00right time. Holy fuck, holy shit. Menu join our Patreon yes,
- 25:07if you want to really get that joke. You're gonna want to join our
- 25:11patreo. Okay, well done, Gina, well done. We'll slip over
- 25:17to the other team, Stevie, can you finish that story a different way?
- 25:19In nineteen ninety seven, syndicated talk show host Art Bell got a caller
- 25:22who claimed to work in an unusual place. Got a call to work in
- 25:29the back of a Volkswagon, Sir, the most unusual and uncomfortable place on
- 25:33her Okay, I see the seat belt buckles and I appreciate it. All
- 25:45right, John, it is my min went there to Stevie. John,
- 25:49can you finish that story a different way? I think I know this one
- 25:55because I have listened to the Art Bell Show, and I'm just judging by
- 25:59the con text that he would be someone that claimed to work at Area fifty
- 26:06one. Ooh, I like that. Oh shit, I like that might
- 26:11be right, that's feasible. Oie. The guy works at the bottom of
- 26:15an underpass, just cleaning everything you don't believe. But he has to scrape
- 26:22off that road every jeez are back out here like clockworn. He's just monitoring
- 26:33out there. That was it was pretty funny, But I'm the funniest answer
- 26:38by a country mile was Gina's So, Gina, well done, you get
- 26:42that point. Nice what Fink also gets a point, He's exactly right,
- 26:49guys. In nineteen ninety seven, a guy called, claiming he worked at
- 26:52Area fifty one. He claimed he was medically discharged, and he sounded frantic
- 26:57like they were going to find him. He said he didn't have much time
- 27:00because they were going to triangulate the phone call, and then the phone call
- 27:03cuts off. Great, he's never heard of again. And shortly thereafter,
- 27:07if I'm not mistaken, shortly there after, the radio station that does the
- 27:11art Bell Show lost power. Yeah, everything looked kind of creepy. It's
- 27:18normal. It's to be fair. Art Bell Show was all about the weird
- 27:21and paranormal stuff, so it could have all been a great big just nho.
- 27:26So yeah, yeah, you never. There has been more than one
- 27:30occasion where I've had to turn off the art Bell Show because I was getting
- 27:33too freaked out. When I was a kid. Oh all right, well,
- 27:38uh, this next one might hit home. A gentleman, you will
- 27:41start this time around, and Stevie will start with you. In nineteen ninety
- 27:47Kevin and Bean on k Rock got a phone call from a man confessing to
- 27:52what unusual act? Oh? Man, what yere was this? Nineteen ninety
- 27:59ninety a man called I was like winning first he was doing an unusual act.
- 28:06Yes, oh gosh ah, he was per trying to perform mime live
- 28:15on radio. Occasionally you hear him accidentally bumped the mic and that is sorry,
- 28:30I got nothing. That is honestly kind of genius. Thank you.
- 28:37Okay, So man trying to tu mine on radio? John, can you
- 28:41can you finish the story a different way? Stevie still mid me? I
- 28:51want to be Oh my god, I can't even My brain is falling out
- 29:00of my ear. After that, I say, it's a guy that called
- 29:07in to say he's the original guy that shot the sheriff but didn't shoot the
- 29:11deputy. Okay, all right, fair enough like that, Uh, oggie,
- 29:18what do you say? How would you finish that story? He does
- 29:22the unusual act of having to manually gather uh sperm samples from stallion horses.
- 29:32Oh, he's a jacker, Yeah, I got okay, lucky horsejacker,
- 29:36horse jack, this big old violin case walker. You know they hate it
- 29:44when you look him in the eye. The weird party when some of them
- 29:48insist on it took care of you yesterday. Get away from me. Oh
- 29:56my god, h beforehand, Gina, how would you finish that story?
- 30:04I feel like I heard about this and wasn't it a guy called in and
- 30:08confessed to murdering someone. Then the FBI had to investigate Kevin Eban holy ship,
- 30:15it could be that's for this double point there. Let's get to it,
- 30:23because you were last one, so I can safely say, Stevie,
- 30:26yours was the funniest sing they were. They were all they were all pretty
- 30:30funny. But I mean, the dude mining on radio broke. But Gina
- 30:38is gonna get a point because the correct answer is murder. It was a
- 30:48bit or something and he called in claiming to have caught his girlfriend sleeping with
- 30:52another man and then killed her. And Kevin and Bean did not know how
- 30:57to deal with it, like they were. They thought it was a joke
- 31:00at first, but then they tried to like, hey man, you know,
- 31:03you should probably talk to somebody, And they tried to get him to
- 31:06call like some you know, helpful services or something, but the guy hung
- 31:11up and just added just freaked out. Apparently the FBI did get involved.
- 31:15They tried to track down who this guy was and what he had done and
- 31:18all that stuff. I don't I did not look into it enough to figure
- 31:22out whether or not it was an actual hoax or not. But yeah,
- 31:26this is a real thing that happens. I confessed to murder live on air.
- 31:30Okay, so it's three points to one. But you guys are still
- 31:34okid. They got a good strategy. They do funny one and then they
- 31:37do like a real one. Yeah, can we do that? Yeah,
- 31:40you could guess. But they just happened to know those two. Maybe they'll
- 31:45know this one. Let's find out. John, We're going to start with
- 31:47you this time. In twenty thirteen, Mayhem and the Am in Atlanta decided
- 31:53to run a bit making fun of the football rivals then the New Orleans Saints,
- 32:00specifically a former player. All three of the hosts were fired by the
- 32:05end of the day. Wow, I can totally imagine. So finish the
- 32:14story. Why were they fired? They were all fired because they had they
- 32:24were making fun of a player on the New Orleans Saints. You said,
- 32:28ye, are we able to figure out what player that was? If that's
- 32:32too much, don't worry about it, Okay, I would say that they
- 32:37hired three lookalike strippers to show up that looked like that player. The bearded,
- 32:59very uncom triple lap dances on the air. Yeah yeah, lots of
- 33:02lots of slapping, noises, lots of grunts and groans. All right,
- 33:08Radio Gold, thank you very much, Augie. Can you finish the story
- 33:14in a different way please? As the chairs straining. Sorry, so they
- 33:21kept using the wrong terminology. As it turns out, they had no no
- 33:23idea what football was kept throwing a three pointer from the sixty yard line into
- 33:34the goal. The goalie caught it. The goalie caught it, and then
- 33:40he got a red card. I like that. I like that a lot.
- 33:46I was got busted for high sticking. Oh. I was gonna ask
- 33:52Gina next, but she appears to have left. She's She's like, I
- 33:57know what happened. I was offended so much, I believe. I'm so
- 34:00sorry. Apparently my battery wasn't plugged in top was about to die. Oh
- 34:06no, we can't have that. No, I'm back now. Okay,
- 34:09good timing, you're read me the prompt again. Sure. In twenty thirteen,
- 34:14Mayhem and the Am in Atlanta decided to run a bit making fun of
- 34:17football rivals, the New Orleans Saints, specifically a former player. All three
- 34:22of the hosts were fired by the end of the day. Why they were
- 34:29fired because the player they talked about was named Jacques Saint. Jockstrap bothered and
- 34:38they started making love live. Okay, okay, I like it. I
- 34:46like it to use a whole no meaning to do it live. Steevie,
- 34:51you are you were a last to answer, how do you finish the story?
- 34:57I'm gonna have to go with the real one, hoping that Aggie wins
- 34:59the last so we can get the extra points. So I'm going to assume
- 35:05that they did something like nefarious enough to where like the FCC got in and
- 35:09like simulated going after this dude like physically. That's okay, all right,
- 35:17so extra I will Augie's answer was the funniest to me, so that you
- 35:24are going to get a point for that. However, you were not quite
- 35:28right, damn it. So the the player in question was Steve Gleason,
- 35:32who suffers from als. He's wheelchair bound. He's wheelchair bound and could only
- 35:37speak using a voice box that he controls with his eyes. I won't repeat
- 35:42what they did, but it was in such bad taste. It all got,
- 35:46they all got. They deserve that. Then they yeah, it was
- 35:51it was bad, It was really bad. Totally did wow? All right,
- 35:57Well the scores are closer. It's three points for Gina and two points
- 36:00for Stevie and Augie and I have two stories left. So last time we
- 36:05started with John, so this time we're gonna start with you Ogi. In
- 36:08two thousand and four, Marconi and Tiny in Portland also found themselves under fire
- 36:15after playing what controversial internet video on their show. They played the video the
- 36:24Hey Hey but the he Man and Skeletor on Loop. You know the music
- 36:36video where I do I can't remember the name of the band, you know
- 36:38what I'm talking about? The four non Blonde? What's going on? Yeah?
- 36:42What's go ahead? And they just did that on Loop like it?
- 36:53That's pretty good, Gina, how would you finish that story? You played
- 37:01the Hamster dance? They played Hamster Dance live on the show, Stevie,
- 37:10I'll read it again. In two thousand and four, Marconi and Tiny in
- 37:15Portland also found themselves under fire after playing what controversial internet video on their show
- 37:21Controversial the most controversial you said internet video? Right? Correct. Rick Issley's
- 37:27man, I mean they're a radio stations that you could have just played the
- 37:38song, but no, it's more fun you drop people in. All right,
- 37:42they Rick rolled somebody John and or Karen. Oh sweet, how would
- 37:51you how would you finish that story? Do you have any guests as sweetie?
- 37:55I have a I have an idea. I would say they played the
- 38:00controversial two girls, one cup video. Controversial it was awesome. Oh man,
- 38:08that's comedy there. Okay, So my my favorite answer, and I
- 38:15think mostly because of the amount of effort he put in was auga desperately to
- 38:22describe the strange video. But that would be a very funny one for them
- 38:27to get in trouble over. Nobody got it right, and honestly, thank
- 38:30god because this is kind of a dark story. It was the recorded al
- 38:35Qaeda beheading of American repair man. Holy shit, wyow, I forgot about
- 38:40that video? Why would you do that? On a morning show? Was
- 38:44listen? Listen? They played it a few times and then they even started
- 38:46making fun of it. Wow. They were suspended and then fired the very
- 38:52next day. Yeah. Yeah, they deserve to be fired over that.
- 38:57Can you imagine that broadcast like Top of the hour after traffic, we're gonna
- 39:00have they go bout a cock a little too well, all right, sorry,
- 39:12so practice makes it even Stephen. Then it all comes down to this
- 39:16last proNT So we're gonna start with Gina again, and here is your final
- 39:22story. In two thousand and two, Opie and Anthony got in a fair
- 39:25bit of trouble for convincing a couple to do what funniest answer point? Funniest
- 39:37answer worth the point, also worth the point if you get it correct.
- 39:42Say they encourage them to try to make a baby on the air. Like
- 39:46that, try to make a baby on the air, Stevie, you're next.
- 39:54I had them try to solve the rules of the game on air live,
- 39:59because I guarantee you a task nobody can freaking do. Man cannot be
- 40:02done, can't be done. A little bit of inside baseball, but I'll
- 40:05allow it. Karen and John, what do you think? How would you
- 40:08finish that? I'm gonna I'm gonna throw it to my wife. I think
- 40:12they convinced them to have sex in an airplane bathroom. Ooh, I like
- 40:16that. I like that, Augie. I think they could try to convince
- 40:22them to tell their premarital secrets, the stuff they did before they were married,
- 40:27that they might not know what your number is, like your body count
- 40:30interesting, or like who did you sleep with? Like that? So nobody
- 40:39got it right. So it's gonna come down to who I think, who
- 40:43I think is funnyest. We're all trying to go for real. I think
- 40:45the funniest out of those was Gina's. Honestly, I enjoyed that a lot.
- 40:51So four points to John and Gina. Three points. You have won
- 40:54the game. Nobody, I can't reveal. Nobody got it. John and
- 40:59Karen were actually close. It was have sex in a church during mass.
- 41:06Oh my god. A guard found them and argued with them live on the
- 41:10air, and the couple and and the comedian who was with them and recording
- 41:15them were all arrested and charged with public lewdness. I mean, but you
- 41:19should get talk about receiving the Holy Spirit. Didn't even try to go into
- 41:29the confession like penetrating the Holy Spirit never mind. Okay, So so they
- 41:37did it through a hole in the sheet, so that it's two points done,
- 41:43and Gina and they are up three points to zero. But it's okay.
- 41:46Ceevie and Augie can still catch up our third game, where three points
- 41:50is coming up right after this. I'm Richie aka Midnight Agent Raw. I'm
- 42:04Devin aka Special Delivery Dev. We're the Supermedia Bros. Podcast and each week

- 42:42channel. Well, it's easy listening as long as you're having fun. Yes,
- 42:47b fy t W does radio, and we're having a good, good
- 42:52fun time. John and Gina are storming at three points to zero. But
- 42:55this is again Stev's chance to catch up. We're gonna play game three.
- 43:00Game three is the Lightning Round, with full and original credit to the gate
- 43:02Leaverers. This round is a rapid fire trivia test about wider pop culture knowledge
- 43:07that is adjacent to radio. We'll be testing a new buzzer system and we'll
- 43:14see how this works as we go along. But hopefully it's going well so
- 43:17far, so I have a feeling it'll be fine. This round is all
- 43:21about fictional radio stations. I'll read a clue about the station, pointing towards
- 43:25a particular answer, as if announcing the station. If you know the answer,
- 43:30buzz in using your phone, but you must answer in the form of

- 43:51the point. After time runs out, the team with the most points wins
- 43:54the game and gets three episode points. We're going to do a practice clue
- 43:57to make sure everybody's got it. So fingers on buzzers are close to them
