Transcript
- 0:10Speaker 1: Hello, Welcome to the Inside the Birds NFL Week eleven preview.
- 0:16Speaker 1: I'm Jeff Mosher, and of course we're going to do
- 0:18Speaker 1: what we do every week, which is go through the
- 0:21Speaker 1: slate of NFL games and talk about what's going on
- 0:25Speaker 1: in the NFL. And it is quite an interesting week.
- 0:29Speaker 1: We have some really high profile matchups in the NFC,
- 0:34Speaker 1: very exciting games. You of course have the Eagles and
- 0:37Speaker 1: the Lions Sunday night game NBC. We'll have that covered myself,
- 0:42Speaker 1: Adam Kaplan, Greg Cosel with the tape breakdown. We'll do
- 0:46Speaker 1: it from A to Z. But obviously a great, great
- 0:49Speaker 1: matchup between a seven and two Eagles team and a
- 0:53Speaker 1: Detroit Lions team that is among a few teams so
- 0:58Speaker 1: far to sort of make the headlines to the good
- 1:02Speaker 1: teams to change. I know a lot of Eagles fans
- 1:06Speaker 1: were watching and thinking if maybe the same thing needs
- 1:09Speaker 1: to happened in Philadelphia as Dan Campbell, the head coach
- 1:12Speaker 1: of the Lions, took play calling away from his new
- 1:16Speaker 1: OC John Morton, who came over from Denver to replace
- 1:19Speaker 1: Ben Johnson. In seven weeks through the season, and after
- 1:23Speaker 1: a loss to the Vikings, Dan Campbell said, eh I
- 1:27Speaker 1: kind of wanted to go back to doing things a
- 1:28Speaker 1: certain way. He took over play calling and what he
- 1:32Speaker 1: got was forty four points and over five hundred total
- 1:35Speaker 1: yards against the Commanders and no other Commanders are a
- 1:39Speaker 1: bad team. But there are some things strategically that Campbell
- 1:43Speaker 1: did differently. I wrote about it on Phillyvoice dot com
- 1:46Speaker 1: if you want to check that out, use some All
- 1:48Speaker 1: twenty two clips to show how he used both Jamir
- 1:51Speaker 1: Gibbs and Jamison Williams a little bit differently than Morton
- 1:55Speaker 1: had been using them and obviously in one game that
- 1:57Speaker 1: led to an explosion. And we'll see if Dan Campbell
- 2:00Speaker 1: and the Lions, who are very open, I thought this
- 2:03Speaker 1: was really interesting, very open about having this game circled
- 2:09Speaker 1: on their calendar. Most teams believe that do it, but
- 2:15Speaker 1: don't admit it publicly. Most teams, most coaches, most players
- 2:20Speaker 1: tell you every game is one of seventeen. It doesn't
- 2:23Speaker 1: matter more than the other. That they're just focused on
- 2:27Speaker 1: one game at a time. That is what you get
- 2:29Speaker 1: from most teams in the NFL. But the Lions this
- 2:35Speaker 1: week have come out and basically said this is a
- 2:37Speaker 1: game that they have absolutely had circled on their calendar
- 2:41Speaker 1: that they've been looking forward to, that this is a
- 2:45Speaker 1: game that you know, they believe they can measure themselves against.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Now it's clear the Lions, in saying this, feel that
- 2:51Speaker 1: they were robbed of the opportunity last year to take
- 2:55Speaker 1: a shot at the Eagles. The Lions felt that they
- 2:57Speaker 1: were the best team. They played like the best team
- 2:59Speaker 1: in the to see all year, best in the NFL.
- 3:03Speaker 1: They were an amazing team offensively and defensively. But you
- 3:06Speaker 1: guys know everybody watched them. The injuries, Aiden Hudginson, Alee
- 3:09Speaker 1: McNeil in the secondary. I mean, it just piled up
- 3:13Speaker 1: and piled up and piled up offensive line until they
- 3:17Speaker 1: got to a point where they could no longer prevail.
- 3:19Speaker 1: They can no longer get by on the talent that
- 3:22Speaker 1: they have, which is extraordinary, but they couldn't get by
- 3:25Speaker 1: on the diminishing talent and just keep relying on Goff
- 3:29Speaker 1: and Gibbs and Montgomery and Saint Brown to compensate for
- 3:34Speaker 1: everything that they went through defensively with all their injuries.
- 3:39Speaker 1: So now this year they're back, they're healthier. They still
- 3:42Speaker 1: got injuries, we talk about it in the pregame show,
- 3:45Speaker 1: but they feel like this is their shot to go
- 3:49Speaker 1: out and prove who they really are and take down
- 3:53Speaker 1: the Eagles in a way that they didn't get to
- 3:55Speaker 1: do last year. And hey, listen, credit to them for
- 3:59Speaker 1: coming out and admitting that they're six and three. They're
- 4:02Speaker 1: coming off that huge win. The Eagles obviously not look
- 4:06Speaker 1: great offensively, but are seven and two. So whoever wins
- 4:10Speaker 1: this game, you know, if it's the Eagles, they're gonna
- 4:12Speaker 1: be flying real high. Eight wins top of the NFC.
- 4:16Speaker 1: The Eagles can answer a lot of questions by winning
- 4:18Speaker 1: this game, and I don't think if people I don't
- 4:20Speaker 1: think people will care as much if they win it
- 4:21Speaker 1: ugly because of what the record will be. The Lions, meanwhile,
- 4:25Speaker 1: if they get to seven and three, they knock the
- 4:27Speaker 1: Eagles down a little bit, then they get a tiebreaker
- 4:30Speaker 1: over the Eagles, and then obviously whatever happens in the
- 4:33Speaker 1: other big NFC game, and that's between the Rams and
- 4:37Speaker 1: the Seahawks that is at four h five game, those
- 4:41Speaker 1: two are also seven and two teams. I mean, you're
- 4:43Speaker 1: basically looking at your four top teams in the NFC
- 4:47Speaker 1: right there. The Eagles, the Lions, the Seahawks and the Rams.
- 4:52Speaker 1: The Bucks are good. I think that I will start
- 4:55Speaker 1: talking about them more once they get all their guys
- 4:58Speaker 1: back they've been he saw they lost last week to
- 5:02Speaker 1: the Patriots. It was a good game. Patriots pulled away
- 5:06Speaker 1: at the end. I still think the Bucks on their
- 5:08Speaker 1: best day can beat any of the four teams I mentioned.
- 5:12Speaker 1: But right now those four teams Lions, Eagles, forty nine
- 5:15Speaker 1: Ers and Rams I'm sorry, Seahawks and Rams all look
- 5:19Speaker 1: like the cream of the crop. And then after Sunday
- 5:22Speaker 1: night we'll figure out, you know, which of those two
- 5:26Speaker 1: come out victorious and those guys will really get it going.
- 5:31Speaker 1: So that again is the the eight twenty game. Let's
- 5:34Speaker 1: get into of course, there's a morning game. Because the
- 5:36Speaker 1: NFL is continues to play in Europe. We moved from
- 5:40Speaker 1: I guess the games that we're in Ireland to London,
- 5:43Speaker 1: to last week in Germany, and now we are in Spain.
- 5:48Speaker 1: I wonder wh it'll be next week. I don't look ahead.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Are they in Portugal Bratislava? Maybe I don't know they
- 5:55Speaker 1: I know if they've played in Mexico before him. I'm
- 5:57Speaker 1: sort of curious as to where the next game is
- 6:00Speaker 1: going to be played. That I am unaware of. So
- 6:03Speaker 1: Spain gets to see. Man, if you are a Spaniard,
- 6:10Speaker 1: I really hope that you love NFL football and you
- 6:12Speaker 1: don't care about the quality or caliber of teams you're
- 6:17Speaker 1: going to be seeing, because Spain is getting treated to
- 6:20Speaker 1: a matchup of three and seven teams, the Commanders, who
- 6:24Speaker 1: have injuries everywhere, and the Dolphins, who have injuries in
- 6:28Speaker 1: a lot of places but are mostly just not a
- 6:31Speaker 1: very good football team. Now, the Dolphins are coming off
- 6:36Speaker 1: a huge game, maybe a game that for a week
- 6:41Speaker 1: saved Mike McDaniel's job, the owner said when he fired
- 6:46Speaker 1: the GM after that embarrassing loss to the Ravens, he
- 6:51Speaker 1: said in a statement, he came out and said, you know,
- 6:54Speaker 1: the Mike McDaniel has not lost the team yet, but
- 6:57Speaker 1: they are waiting to see how the rest of the
- 7:00Speaker 1: year goes. And what happened is they rally for their
- 7:05Speaker 1: coach and they beat the Bills thirty to thirteen. That
- 7:09Speaker 1: makes the Dolphins one of the stranger teams in the league.
- 7:12Speaker 1: They're not very good, they have a terrible they're terrible
- 7:15Speaker 1: in the trenches. They had just traded Jaalen Phillips to
- 7:17Speaker 1: the Eagles, so you think that they've got nothing. They
- 7:20Speaker 1: keep hold of Jaalen Waddle, which makes sense, you know,
- 7:23Speaker 1: they don't want to have a complete fire sale, and
- 7:26Speaker 1: then they go out and wax the Buffalo Bills thirty
- 7:29Speaker 1: to thirteen. That means the Dolphins have actually won two
- 7:33Speaker 1: of their last three games, and they've been blowouts. They
- 7:35Speaker 1: beat the Falcons thirty four to ten in Week eight,
- 7:38Speaker 1: and of course thirty to thirteen over the Bills, and
- 7:41Speaker 1: in between the lost to the Ravens twenty eight to six.
- 7:44Speaker 1: So they're a very difficult team to figure out as
- 7:47Speaker 1: much as the Bills now are with a loss. You know,
- 7:50Speaker 1: the Bills had lost two games, went into the bye week,
- 7:53Speaker 1: came out smacked up. The Panthers beat the Chiefs, and
- 7:55Speaker 1: everybody thought the Bills are back. Well, apparently they're not.
- 7:59Speaker 1: You know, they lost the Dolphins by seventeen points in Miami,
- 8:02Speaker 1: and boy, that just throws the AFC into total chaos.
- 8:06Speaker 1: I mean, obviously the Colts will talk about them. The
- 8:09Speaker 1: Colts are very good. Chargers are still good Broncos. But
- 8:12Speaker 1: I mean no team is really other than the Colts,
- 8:15Speaker 1: who've actually looked a little vulnerable over the last two weeks.
- 8:19Speaker 1: It's just week to week. You don't know what you're
- 8:21Speaker 1: gonna get with some of these teams. The Commanders, you
- 8:25Speaker 1: know what you're gonna get. You're gonna get a lot
- 8:26Speaker 1: of backups right now, and they're just struggling. Dan not
- 8:31Speaker 1: Dan Campbell. Dan Quinn is pulling at Dan Campbell and
- 8:35Speaker 1: he is now taking over play calling for the defense.
- 8:38Speaker 1: But they've got everybody out for the year. They got
- 8:41Speaker 1: so many injuries. They got guys who are old, aren't
- 8:44Speaker 1: playing well. I don't know what Dan Quinn is expecting
- 8:48Speaker 1: by taking over play calling from Joe Witt, but we'll see.
- 8:53Speaker 1: I mean, it sure helps you to go play a
- 8:54Speaker 1: Dolphins team that isn't good, but the Dolphins still have
- 8:57Speaker 1: some explosive weapons. This is obviously a game on rutul turf.
- 9:01Speaker 1: The Dolphins are two and a half point favorites. The
- 9:03Speaker 1: Dolphins are playing better football than the Commanders. That's really
- 9:07Speaker 1: the bottom line. And we'll see, you know, can I
- 9:09Speaker 1: see Quinn having a better impact on a defense that
- 9:11Speaker 1: just gave up forty four points to the Lions and
- 9:13Speaker 1: thirty eight points to the Seahawks and twenty eight points
- 9:16Speaker 1: before that to the Chiefs. And twenty eight I'm sorry
- 9:19Speaker 1: forty four before that to the Cowboys. Yeah, I mean
- 9:21Speaker 1: the Commander's defense has been terrible for five, six, seven weeks.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Now you're playing a Dolphins offense that shouldn't light up
- 9:29Speaker 1: the scoreboard against you. So we'll see if he can
- 9:32Speaker 1: save the day. But the Commanders, it's gonna be all
- 9:34Speaker 1: about next year. You can put them in the coffin.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Then maybe over the second half when Jade Daniels comes back,
- 9:41Speaker 1: they get a little bit of a spark, but they're
- 9:44Speaker 1: obviously a team that's going nowhere. Panthers at Falcons. The
- 9:49Speaker 1: Falcons are three and a half point favorites over a
- 9:52Speaker 1: Panthers team that might as well play in the AFC
- 9:54Speaker 1: the way they're so chaotic. I mean, you go into
- 9:58Speaker 1: Green Bay, you win sixteen to thirteen. You know, a
- 10:01Speaker 1: week after you got smacked up by the Bills, so
- 10:03Speaker 1: nobody knows what to think of you. You had a
- 10:05Speaker 1: three game win streak to get over five hundred. Lost
- 10:07Speaker 1: of the Bills, you're back to five hundred. You beat
- 10:09Speaker 1: the Packers, you're over five hundred. Now you lose to
- 10:11Speaker 1: the Saints. Now, I watched some of that game, and
- 10:14Speaker 1: the defense played really well. Saints only scored seventeen points
- 10:18Speaker 1: and two touchdowns kind of came off guys either falling
- 10:21Speaker 1: or contested catch situation. So I think the Panthers defense
- 10:24Speaker 1: is legit. But offensively, the Panthers are so bad, and
- 10:31Speaker 1: the Falcons themselves are bad. Every are also offensively bad.
- 10:36Speaker 1: That this is a matchup between two teams that you
- 10:39Speaker 1: frankly expected a little bit more from. The Falcons have
- 10:42Speaker 1: now lost four in a row, but at least they
- 10:44Speaker 1: gave their last two opponents good games. One point loss
- 10:47Speaker 1: to the Patriots, six point loss to the Colts. I
- 10:50Speaker 1: mean they had the Colts on the ropes in that game,
- 10:52Speaker 1: but they could not stop Jonathan Taylor. This is anybody's game.
- 10:57Speaker 1: It's also it's more important in my view for the
- 11:01Speaker 1: Panthers because if they win their six and five and
- 11:04Speaker 1: they're really trying hard to chase a wildcard, I can't imagine.
- 11:08Speaker 1: I think the Falcons are done. You know, they're three
- 11:10Speaker 1: and six. They have a whole lot of issues. And
- 11:13Speaker 1: even if the Falcons win this game and get to
- 11:16Speaker 1: four and six and then they got the Saints and Jets,
- 11:19Speaker 1: you can be five and six, then maybe six and six.
- 11:22Speaker 1: The end of the year, you got the Seahawks, you
- 11:24Speaker 1: got the Bucks. You have the Rams in three of
- 11:28Speaker 1: your last five games, so it's gonna be a struggle
- 11:31Speaker 1: for them. And even there too gimmes you would say,
- 11:34Speaker 1: Cardinals Saints. I don't know if those are gimmes for
- 11:37Speaker 1: the Falcons because they struggle. They struggle against a lot
- 11:41Speaker 1: of teams, so they really need to I don't know,
- 11:46Speaker 1: they really need a big run here to get that wildcard.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Whereas you look at the Panthers, if they can get
- 11:52Speaker 1: to six and five, they get the forty nine ers
- 11:54Speaker 1: in the Rams before the bye. All right, you hope
- 11:57Speaker 1: to win one of those games, get seven wins, then
- 11:59Speaker 1: you get your rematch against the Saints coming out of
- 12:02Speaker 1: the buy. You hope to win that. You get to eight,
- 12:04Speaker 1: then you go Bucks, Seahawks, Bucks. I guess if you
- 12:09Speaker 1: feel if you beat the Packers in Lambeau, maybe you
- 12:11Speaker 1: can steal one or one of those games and maybe
- 12:15Speaker 1: get to nine. So it's tough. It's tough for both
- 12:18Speaker 1: of these teams. Hey, it's Jeff Mosher. And if you

- 15:01Speaker 1: they play the Bills in Buffalo. Buffalo is five and
- 15:05Speaker 1: a half point favorites. Buffalo is a hard team to
- 15:08Speaker 1: beat in Buffalo. They've shown vulnerability this year. I just
- 15:12Speaker 1: talked about it. Their passing game took a major, major
- 15:16Speaker 1: hit with the loss of Dalton Kincaid. That is going
- 15:20Speaker 1: to be a difficult one for them to recover from
- 15:22Speaker 1: because he was really doing a good job for them.
- 15:25Speaker 1: He was one of their better receivers or pass catchers
- 15:28Speaker 1: as a tight end. And this is a team that
- 15:30Speaker 1: really sorely lacks playmakers for Josh Allen, they always have,
- 15:35Speaker 1: but Allen's made it work. But I gotta say, I
- 15:37Speaker 1: don't think I think some of the league is catching
- 15:39Speaker 1: up to him. Talking about that. With the Eagles too,
- 15:42Speaker 1: they can be very feast or famine, but losing to
- 15:45Speaker 1: the Dolphins in the style that they did losing to
- 15:48Speaker 1: the Falcons earlier in the year, only scoring fourteen points,
- 15:51Speaker 1: only scoring twenty in a loss to the Patriots. They
- 15:54Speaker 1: have now in their last five games scored twenty points.
- 16:01Speaker 1: So there's something not right with them offensively, and this
- 16:05Speaker 1: is a perfect time for Tampa to go in there
- 16:07Speaker 1: and hit him while it hurts. But the Buccaneers are
- 16:11Speaker 1: still without Bucky Irving, still without Godwin, without Mike Evans.
- 16:16Speaker 1: I mean they're being asked to rely on Igbuka Kdatten,
- 16:19Speaker 1: and Baker has played great. He's finding teds Johnson, He's
- 16:23Speaker 1: doing a good job. Baker has been a real stabilizing
- 16:26Speaker 1: force for a couple of years now for this Buccaneers team.
- 16:30Speaker 1: They can go up into Buffalo and win this game.
- 16:32Speaker 1: It's not impossible. And this is the year and the time,
- 16:36Speaker 1: the way Buffalo is playing to go up and do it.
- 16:39Speaker 1: I just wish for them they had a little more firepower,
- 16:43Speaker 1: because if you're going to go up into Buffalo and win,
- 16:45Speaker 1: it really helps to be at full strength. But again,
- 16:48Speaker 1: Mayfield sixteen touchdowns, two interceptions, been very careful with the ball.
- 16:52Speaker 1: This should be a really good game. Hope to get
- 16:55Speaker 1: to catch a glimpse of it at some point. It
- 16:58Speaker 1: would not surprise me at all if the Bucks win.
- 17:00Speaker 1: If they do, it's a huge, huge win for them.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Seven and three, it won't matter what the Eagles, Lions, Rams,
- 17:07Speaker 1: and Seahawks do. They'll be in it, all right. Six
- 17:10Speaker 1: and four they're still in it. It's not like they're
- 17:12Speaker 1: going away. They're gonna get most of these guys healthy back,
- 17:15Speaker 1: and they still play in the NFC South. But seven
- 17:18Speaker 1: and three they're in it for a number one seed,
- 17:20Speaker 1: all right. If they go to six and four, the
- 17:26Speaker 1: margin of error for that is a little bit more.
- 17:28Speaker 1: It's a little larger, I'm sorry, a little smaller. So
- 17:32Speaker 1: good game, though, really good game. Bills are favored by
- 17:35Speaker 1: five and a half. I think that's interesting. I do
- 17:37Speaker 1: wonder if at some point with the Bucks, kind of
- 17:40Speaker 1: like the Lions last year, if all these injuries lead
- 17:42Speaker 1: to an implosion. You know, they also aren't gonna have
- 17:44Speaker 1: Reddick House on Redick. They haven't had him, so they're
- 17:48Speaker 1: left guards out. Just tough, very tough. Texans and Titans.
- 17:53Speaker 1: What an interesting win by the Texans last week, yet
- 17:57Speaker 1: became yet another team joining I guess theos right, Broncos
- 18:01Speaker 1: did this against the Giants to erase like an eighteen
- 18:03Speaker 1: point deficit or a real big fourth quarter double digit
- 18:07Speaker 1: deficit to come back and win. And I told you
- 18:10Speaker 1: guys last week, I don't like that Jack Jacksonville Jaguars team.
- 18:15Speaker 1: They were up huge in that game against the Texans
- 18:19Speaker 1: and the Texans were on their backup quarterback, Davis Mills.
- 18:23Speaker 1: All right, So you got a Texans team at all
- 18:26Speaker 1: year longest struggle to score points. They're on their backup quarterback,
- 18:30Speaker 1: and you are winning twenty nine to ten going into
- 18:34Speaker 1: the fourth quarter, and you lose that game thirty six
- 18:36Speaker 1: to twenty nine. So I give all the credit in
- 18:38Speaker 1: the world to the Texans. They found something with Davis Mills.
- 18:41Speaker 1: There got an Eco Collins one hundred and thirty six
- 18:44Speaker 1: yards wood. He marks the rookie running back has really
- 18:46Speaker 1: come on for them. He's kind of it looks like
- 18:48Speaker 1: he's replacing Nick Chubb in their offense. As far as
- 18:52Speaker 1: their their top ball carrier. We'll see they were behind
- 18:55Speaker 1: a lot for the game, so you can understand why
- 18:57Speaker 1: they want a running back to throw to. But the
- 18:59Speaker 1: Tech's defense is so good. I wish i've said this
- 19:03Speaker 1: a couple of times on the show. I just wish
- 19:04Speaker 1: the offense could treat it better like it just did.
- 19:07Speaker 1: It took forever to wake up, but obviously scoring thirty
- 19:10Speaker 1: six points was big and amazingly they gave up twenty
- 19:13Speaker 1: nine to the Jags, although I think that was a
- 19:14Speaker 1: little bit flucish. But this Texans pass rush is good,
- 19:18Speaker 1: their secondary is good, and I would expect that they
- 19:20Speaker 1: will They will beat the Titans. It might be again
- 19:25Speaker 1: another defensive kind of battle, but I think their defense
- 19:30Speaker 1: is good enough so that if the Texans, with Mills
- 19:32Speaker 1: in his second straight start, can get to that twenty
- 19:36Speaker 1: four point range, I think to w Okay, Texans are
- 19:38Speaker 1: five and a half point row favorites in Tennessee. Bears
- 19:42Speaker 1: Vikings good NFC game. I really think this is a
- 19:45Speaker 1: strong NFC game. You gotta give a lot of credit
- 19:47Speaker 1: to Ben Johnson and the Chicago Bears. They came back
- 19:51Speaker 1: from a fourth quarter deficit against the Giants and got
- 19:54Speaker 1: to Brian Dable fired. They won the game twenty four
- 19:57Speaker 1: to twenty. They have won six of their life seven.
- 20:00Speaker 1: They're only loss is a loss in Baltimore, which is
- 20:02Speaker 1: no shame for this Bears team that is already starting
- 20:06Speaker 1: to exceed expectations. The offense is coming together. They're starting
- 20:10Speaker 1: to play the way Ben Johnson wants them to play.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Caro Williams isn't perfect, but he's making plays outside the pocket.
- 20:16Speaker 1: He's very good. He's better at making plays outside the
- 20:19Speaker 1: pocket on the run than he seems to be inside
- 20:21Speaker 1: the pocket. But nonetheless, you're getting he's finally getting Colston
- 20:25Speaker 1: Lovelin involved. It's getting the ball to Luther Burden. So
- 20:28Speaker 1: the young talent on this offense is coming through. They
- 20:30Speaker 1: run the ball extremely well with Manang Guy, with DeAndre Swift.
- 20:34Speaker 1: They actually struggled a little bit against the Giants defense
- 20:37Speaker 1: early on against the run, but they've gotten it together
- 20:41Speaker 1: and now they play a division rival. They play the
- 20:43Speaker 1: Minnesota Vikings, and this will be the first time since
- 20:47Speaker 1: Week one. Now they lost to the Vikings, but they
- 20:49Speaker 1: are different in Week one twenty seven to twenty four,
- 20:51Speaker 1: but they're a different team. The Vikings are coming off
- 20:56Speaker 1: a loss to the Ravens themselves. That isn't bad. They
- 20:59Speaker 1: lost one seven to nineteen. They're passing game still a
- 21:02Speaker 1: little iffy. You can kind of see Justin Jefferson getting
- 21:05Speaker 1: a little frustrated, but they look they're honor rookie quarterback,
- 21:09Speaker 1: a first year quarterback who missed his entire rookie year.
- 21:14Speaker 1: They did beat the Lions in Week nine, you know,
- 21:17Speaker 1: and they couldn't keep it going against the Ravens. But
- 21:19Speaker 1: this Vikings team is not easily beatable. It doesn't matter
- 21:23Speaker 1: if the quarterback is still learning. They're well coached offensively,
- 21:27Speaker 1: they're well coached defensively with Brian Flores. They are going
- 21:30Speaker 1: to come and attack. They are going to attack Caleb
- 21:35Speaker 1: Williams because that's what the Vikings do. They tried to
- 21:37Speaker 1: attack Jared Goff, they did two weeks ago and they
- 21:41Speaker 1: won that game, all right, So they will come after
- 21:44Speaker 1: Caleb Williams and they will probably force KILEB Williams into
- 21:47Speaker 1: some mistakes. It's not gonna be pretty, but it's a
- 21:51Speaker 1: good NFC North battle and if the Bears can come
- 21:54Speaker 1: out of whoever wins this game. The Bears lose, all right,
- 21:56Speaker 1: you're still six or four. You try to pick up
- 21:58Speaker 1: the pieces the next week and continue on your season.
- 22:02Speaker 1: You'll have the Steelers after that. If you're the Vikings,
- 22:06Speaker 1: you know you'll get back to five hundred again. You
- 22:08Speaker 1: have the Packers who are struggling up next then it'll
- 22:11Speaker 1: be in Lambeau and you'll feel better about it. I mean,
- 22:15Speaker 1: this NFC North is a good division. There's no terrible teams,
- 22:18Speaker 1: and every team can punch you in the mouth. That's
- 22:21Speaker 1: what I like about the NFC North. Every team can
- 22:23Speaker 1: punch you in the mouth. You cannot show up to
- 22:26Speaker 1: an NFC North game now, whether it's the Bears, Vikings,
- 22:29Speaker 1: I mean, the Packers and lines have been good for
- 22:30Speaker 1: a while, but you can't show up to any of
- 22:32Speaker 1: these NFC East games. Play your C plus game or
- 22:36Speaker 1: give one swift, quick punch in the first quarter and
- 22:39Speaker 1: expect any of these teams to lay over. So good
- 22:42Speaker 1: battles in the NFC North. And you know, as the
- 22:45Speaker 1: calendar turns, we'll see Chicago. You saw the weather, how
- 22:48Speaker 1: it was there in Green Bay. You saw how the
- 22:50Speaker 1: weather it was there. I like those kind of games,
- 22:52Speaker 1: and we're getting into that part of the season, all right.
- 22:56Speaker 1: Packers at Giants, you talk about two teams that are
- 22:59Speaker 1: really looking to pick the pieces. And look the Giants
- 23:04Speaker 1: they fired their head coach. Second team this year. Titans
- 23:08Speaker 1: were the first to fire the head coach you knew
- 23:10Speaker 1: it was coming, blew too many leads, and it's really
- 23:13Speaker 1: not even about that. I think. Obviously, Jackson Dark getting
- 23:17Speaker 1: hurt running having a concussion probably put the nail in
- 23:23Speaker 1: Brian dables coffin. They let him play recklessly. But if
- 23:27Speaker 1: you've watched Brian Dable for the last few years, you
- 23:30Speaker 1: can tell he has some serious, serious issues as a
- 23:35Speaker 1: head coach, dealing with his temperament, his anger, his emotional intelligence.
- 23:42Speaker 1: As Jeffrey Lourie would say, I mean, the Giants are
- 23:45Speaker 1: out there best in his first year, not only because
- 23:48Speaker 1: of Brian Dable getting Daniel Jones and that offensive play
- 23:51Speaker 1: all right, but because Wink Martindale was an incredible defensive coordinator.
- 23:56Speaker 1: But guess what Dabele couldn't get along with him fired him, right.
- 24:00Speaker 1: If you've read all the stuff, and I knew about
- 24:03Speaker 1: this anyway, but if you've read all of it, Dable
- 24:05Speaker 1: and Mike Kafka, who's now the interim head coach, they
- 24:08Speaker 1: had their issues. I mean, took play calling, gave it back,
- 24:11Speaker 1: took play calling, gave it back. Then you read about
- 24:14Speaker 1: him glaring at his special teams coordinator. We all remember
- 24:17Speaker 1: the Eagles game a couple of weeks ago where he
- 24:20Speaker 1: literally wasted a challenge flag. I mean, the referees told
- 24:23Speaker 1: him on the tush push fumble that it wasn't reviewable
- 24:26Speaker 1: and he throws the flag to try to review the
- 24:28Speaker 1: spot instead. He is just too impulsive impetuous to be
- 24:36Speaker 1: a head coach. I mean, maybe he can be a
- 24:38Speaker 1: head coach again, but he's got to be able to
- 24:40Speaker 1: figure that part out, like Nick Sirianni has. Okay, Sirianni
- 24:45Speaker 1: is still Siriani now. He's still an emotional guy, but
- 24:48Speaker 1: you don't see him going picking fights from the fans
- 24:50Speaker 1: other players. You don't see him doing that outlandish stuff
- 24:53Speaker 1: that he was doing earlier in his career, as early
- 24:56Speaker 1: as even last years Cleveland. He has stopped doing that,
- 25:00Speaker 1: and that's too his better. I know some fans love
- 25:02Speaker 1: that and think that that's the cool stuff that they
- 25:04Speaker 1: want out of a head coach, but there were people
- 25:06Speaker 1: in the organization and the Eagles organization that thought it
- 25:09Speaker 1: was a joke. And there are people around the league
- 25:11Speaker 1: who thought Sirianni was a caricature of himself because of that,
- 25:15Speaker 1: And you know what, he's toned it down. Maybe having
- 25:17Speaker 1: big dom on the sideline there this year as a
- 25:20Speaker 1: coach has helped. But the point is Abel needs to
- 25:23Speaker 1: do the same. He had, you know, his best years
- 25:27Speaker 1: in Buffalo, he was up in the booth coaching Josh Allen,
- 25:31Speaker 1: up in the booth where he can be away from it,
- 25:33Speaker 1: where it's not as an emotional rollercoaster. You don't feel
- 25:36Speaker 1: the intensity there on the field. If he wants to
- 25:40Speaker 1: be a good head coach and head coach again, he's
- 25:41Speaker 1: got to solve that issue. Now. For the Giants, I'm
- 25:45Speaker 1: not going to really talk much about their issue of
- 25:48Speaker 1: hiring coaches and gms in the past because the owner,
- 25:52Speaker 1: John Mahra, is sick right now. He's battling cancer, and
- 25:54Speaker 1: I'm not going to sit there and kick the guy
- 25:57Speaker 1: while he's down. I will only say this about the Giants.
- 26:01Speaker 1: They have a history since moving on from Tom Claughlin
- 26:05Speaker 1: of kind of hiring coaches who were the quote unquote
- 26:09Speaker 1: hot name coordinator, like you know, Ben McAdoo was, like
- 26:12Speaker 1: of course, Brian Dable was, and or going for the
- 26:16Speaker 1: tree right with that organizational tree, let's go get Joe Judge,
- 26:21Speaker 1: not necessarily the hot coordinator, but the Belichick tree. I
- 26:24Speaker 1: don't think that they've done the same kind of job
- 26:28Speaker 1: that you'll see like the Steelers, the Eagles, the Ravens
- 26:31Speaker 1: do in finding good candidates who are good head coaches,
- 26:35Speaker 1: who have good vision. Because you found that out about
- 26:39Speaker 1: the guy vetting. You know who the league's visionaries are.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Eagles were grade at it and getting you know Andy Reid,
- 26:46Speaker 1: of course, and they've been good at it with Nick Sirianni.
- 26:50Speaker 1: You know, they don't always. They don't always succeed. Chip
- 26:52Speaker 1: Kelly didn't work out, and Doug Peterson of course won
- 26:54Speaker 1: a Super Bowl, but that didn't that didn't last very long.
- 26:57Speaker 1: That wasn't one of their quote unquote better overall, higher
- 27:00Speaker 1: in the grand scheme. But you know, Jeffrey Leari looks
- 27:03Speaker 1: for something different in somebody. Look at the Steelers. You know, nobody,
- 27:07Speaker 1: not a lot of people talked about Mike Tomlin as
- 27:09Speaker 1: a future head coach when the Steelers hired I rememberody
- 27:12Speaker 1: thought Rus Grimm was getting the job, and he was
- 27:13Speaker 1: getting a job until all of a sudden they switched
- 27:16Speaker 1: to Mike Tomlin. The Ravens, all right, they went and
- 27:20Speaker 1: got John Harbaugh, a special teams coordinator who did not
- 27:24Speaker 1: have a whole lot of if any interviews around the league,
- 27:27Speaker 1: whoever it is that calls the shots. For the Giants,
- 27:29Speaker 1: what they need to do for their next head coach
- 27:33Speaker 1: is to be better in finding a guy who is
- 27:36Speaker 1: a program builder, who is a glue guy, who has
- 27:39Speaker 1: the right temperament for the job. And it doesn't have
- 27:41Speaker 1: to be the hot coordinator. It doesn't have to be
- 27:44Speaker 1: Clint Kubiak, the offensive coordinator for the Seahawks, who I'm
- 27:47Speaker 1: sure is going to get a job. Doesn't have to
- 27:49Speaker 1: be Jesse Minter, the defensive coordinator for the Chargers, will
- 27:52Speaker 1: probably be a hot name for a job. Go get
- 27:55Speaker 1: someone who a can lead your organization if you're gonna
- 28:00Speaker 1: wind up replacing your GM, who has some vision, who
- 28:05Speaker 1: maybe cuts against the green, someone who isn't just the
- 28:08Speaker 1: hot guy or the hot tree. And that's what the
- 28:11Speaker 1: Giants need to do. The Packers need to get back
- 28:13Speaker 1: to some offensive balance that's more than fifty to fifty.
- 28:19Speaker 1: I think they gotta let Jordan Love throw the ball.
- 28:21Speaker 1: It's got thirteen touchdowns and three interceptions this year. He
- 28:23Speaker 1: has not put the ball in harm's way. But they
- 28:26Speaker 1: run so much I think I wonder if it's to
- 28:28Speaker 1: the detriment of getting Jordan Love warmed up. Now they
- 28:31Speaker 1: lost their center, who's very good Elkton Jenkins. They're down
- 28:34Speaker 1: at wide receiver. They are a team that I think
- 28:38Speaker 1: can win this game and get to six and three,
- 28:40Speaker 1: and they're waiting for Jayden Reid to get back, waiting
- 28:43Speaker 1: for Christian Watson to continue to get healthier with the
- 28:45Speaker 1: knee as he makes his impact. Obviously, the loss of
- 28:49Speaker 1: Tucker Craft is big. I don't know if the Packers
- 28:52Speaker 1: can get back to that level that we talked about
- 28:54Speaker 1: of those four teams in the NFC or the Bucks
- 28:56Speaker 1: as the fifth. I don't know if they haven't enough.
- 29:00Speaker 1: Their injuries are hurting them. I think Matt Lafleur has
- 29:04Speaker 1: lost some trust in the offense and it's just trying
- 29:06Speaker 1: to run the ball way too much. But I will
- 29:10Speaker 1: say I think Lafloor and the Packers are a good organization.
- 29:13Speaker 1: They've made changes when they need to make him before.
- 29:16Speaker 1: He is a good coach. I like Lafleur as a coach.
- 29:19Speaker 1: I may not love his play calling and his core
- 29:21Speaker 1: conservative nature, but I think he's done an excellent job
- 29:23Speaker 1: as coach of this team. I would bet on him
- 29:26Speaker 1: figuring out ways to get better than they've been the
- 29:31Speaker 1: last few weeks. It's helpful that they have the Giants,
- 29:33Speaker 1: and Jamis Winston will start for the Giants, so I'm
- 29:35Speaker 1: sure he's good to make a mistake or two. He'll
- 29:37Speaker 1: probably make two or three big plays, but he'll probably
- 29:39Speaker 1: make two or three big mistakes as well. The Packers
- 29:42Speaker 1: are six and a half point favorites, despite losing two
- 29:45Speaker 1: straight games and being on the struggle bus. But they
- 29:49Speaker 1: should win this game. I expect them to get right.
- 29:52Speaker 1: I just question if they can be Super Bowl contenders
- 29:55Speaker 1: again this year. Bengals at Steelers. Bengals come out of
- 29:59Speaker 1: the bo It's weird. Joe Flacco who was limited in practice.
- 30:02Speaker 1: He didn't even practice at all on Wednesday. I mean,
- 30:04Speaker 1: they came out of the by He must have gotten
- 30:06Speaker 1: really shaken up in their last game. I think the
- 30:11Speaker 1: whole team got shook the last game. They lose to
- 30:13Speaker 1: the Bears forty seven to forty two. I mean they've
- 30:16Speaker 1: given a forty seven to the Bears, thirty nine to
- 30:19Speaker 1: the Jets. I mean they have hemorrhaged, hemorrhaged yards and points.
- 30:23Speaker 1: And you know they're playing a Steelers team that is
- 30:25Speaker 1: the last team they beat, but they had to win
- 30:28Speaker 1: that game thirty three to thirty one. So this could
- 30:32Speaker 1: be anybody's game. The Steelers have not looked good at all.
- 30:37Speaker 1: They have been very inconsistent. They've lost three or four.
- 30:40Speaker 1: I told you that game two weeks ago against the
- 30:42Speaker 1: Colts was somewhat of a fluke game, because what I
- 30:45Speaker 1: said was, how do you only win twenty seven to
- 30:47Speaker 1: twenty when you get six takeaways? All Right? The Colts
- 30:50Speaker 1: turned the ball over six times and the Steelers only
- 30:54Speaker 1: won twenty seven to twenty nine times out of ten.
- 30:56Speaker 1: You get six takeaways, you're gonna beat the crap out
- 30:59Speaker 1: of a team. They did not. And then they went
- 31:01Speaker 1: into the Chargers, a team that has a lot of injuries,
- 31:04Speaker 1: especially on offense, and they got blitzed. They, I mean,
- 31:08Speaker 1: they got killed. There wasn't even a close game. They
- 31:10Speaker 1: lost twenty five to ten. So I can't sit here
- 31:13Speaker 1: and tell you that I think the Steelers are definitely
- 31:15Speaker 1: going to beat the Bengals, even in Pittsburgh. It could
- 31:18Speaker 1: be another thirty five, thirty four, forty six, forty one
- 31:21Speaker 1: could be one of those games. Interesting that Joe Burrow
- 31:25Speaker 1: came back this week to practice for the Bengals. So
- 31:28Speaker 1: if the Bengals win this game and get to four
- 31:30Speaker 1: and six, they're gonna look at their schedule. They're gonna say, hey,
- 31:35Speaker 1: can we get to four and six you know, can
- 31:38Speaker 1: we get to five and six the next week against
- 31:40Speaker 1: the Patriots? Probably not, I mean to be honest. They
- 31:44Speaker 1: got the Ravens after that, the Bills after that, the
- 31:46Speaker 1: Ravens again. I mean, I think Joe Burrow even said
- 31:50Speaker 1: his comeback depends on their situation. So winning this game
- 31:53Speaker 1: might give them some hope, kind of like last year,
- 31:55Speaker 1: how they you know, rallied and beat all these good
- 31:58Speaker 1: teams at the end. So maybe if they if if
- 32:00Speaker 1: they can get borough back for week twelve against the
- 32:02Speaker 1: Patriots at four and six, and you win that game
- 32:05Speaker 1: and you get to five and six, okay, then we're
- 32:07Speaker 1: talking about something. But it all starts with this week
- 32:09Speaker 1: against the Steelers. Very imperative they win this game, all right,
- 32:15Speaker 1: the last of the one o'clock games. You've got Chargers
- 32:18Speaker 1: at Jaguars. I already gave you my spiel on the Jags.
- 32:22Speaker 1: They're five and four. I don't like him at all.
- 32:26Speaker 1: The quarterback has played terribly this year. They're running the ball, okay,
- 32:31Speaker 1: but I you know, when you blow a nineteen ten
- 32:35Speaker 1: leader or whatever, the nineteen point lead and loose to
- 32:37Speaker 1: the Texans like that, and then you got to play
- 32:39Speaker 1: the Chargers the next week, good luck to you. Chargers
- 32:42Speaker 1: are beat up, but they have they've been able to prevail.
- 32:46Speaker 1: This game isn't Jacksonville. But they still have question marks
- 32:51Speaker 1: about Brian Thomas Junior. First of all, he wasn't playing now,
- 32:53Speaker 1: I was dropping a lot of passes. Secondly, he's been
- 32:56Speaker 1: dealing with an injury, so they're not sure he's gonna play.
- 32:59Speaker 1: Maybe he would. If he does, it helps. I don't
- 33:02Speaker 1: think it makes that big of a difference. Breton Strange
- 33:06Speaker 1: coming off IR would be a big You know that.
- 33:09Speaker 1: If you get Brian Thomas Junior, you get Breton Strange back,
- 33:12Speaker 1: you got Parker Washington. There you're trading for Jacobe Myers. Yeah.
- 33:15Speaker 1: I suppose you're looking better and maybe you could be
- 33:17Speaker 1: more formidable. But the Chargers team is playing really well.
- 33:21Speaker 1: Herbert's playing well. He's been asked to do a little
- 33:23Speaker 1: bit too much lately with both offensive tackles, and with
- 33:26Speaker 1: Omari and Hampton out, they've been able to win, but
- 33:29Speaker 1: he hasn't played as well as kind of well the
- 33:31Speaker 1: numbers would say. I mean, I'm sure he's playing pretty well,
- 33:34Speaker 1: but he's got he's up to eight interceptions. This is
- 33:37Speaker 1: a Jaguars team that is up and down on defense.
- 33:40Speaker 1: But the Chargers are two and a half point road favorites.
- 33:43Speaker 1: I think the Chargers will win. They'll get to eight
- 33:45Speaker 1: and three, and then it gets really interesting for the Chargers.
- 33:50Speaker 1: You know, they've had the Vikings, Tight, Titans, and Steelers
- 33:54Speaker 1: the last three weeks. You get to Jaguars, you get
- 33:56Speaker 1: to eight and three, you go to the buy, you
- 33:58Speaker 1: come out. You got the Raiders, great chance to go
- 34:00Speaker 1: to nine and three, and then you get Eagles, Chiefs, Cowboys, Texans, Broncos.
- 34:05Speaker 1: So it's really important for the Chargers to load up
- 34:08Speaker 1: on these wins that they should get, and they should
- 34:10Speaker 1: get this win. All right, let's get to the four
- 34:13Speaker 1: o'clock games. Hey, Philly fans. Game day is stressful enough. Parking, traffic,

- 35:04Speaker 1: service members, and healthcare pros. Candid Apothecary top quality cannabis,
- 35:10Speaker 1: great prices, and an experience made for Philly fans. Twenty
- 35:13Speaker 1: one and up. Okay, obviously, the other really big matchup
- 35:19Speaker 1: in the NFC I alluded to it earlier. We've got
- 35:22Speaker 1: Seahawks at Rams. These are two seven and two teams
- 35:27Speaker 1: that are both on fire right now, both playing really
- 35:31Speaker 1: at the top of their game. It starts with the Rams.
- 35:34Speaker 1: I mean they have been and by the way, this
- 35:38Speaker 1: is a matchup that's fascinating because you have possibly the
- 35:45Speaker 1: Assistant Coach of the Year candidate finalists in Clint Kubiak,
- 35:51Speaker 1: the offensive coordinator for the Seahawks, versus Chris Shula, who
- 35:58Speaker 1: is the defensive coordinator for the Rams, And you're thinking,
- 36:02Speaker 1: Jeff in a game between the Seahawks and Rams. Why
- 36:06Speaker 1: are you talking about Clint Kubiak versus Chris Shula for
- 36:12Speaker 1: Assistant Coach of the Year and not say Matthew Stafford
- 36:17Speaker 1: for MVP and the twenty touchdowns that he's thrown in
- 36:21Speaker 1: the last four games, Or why aren't you talking about
- 36:24Speaker 1: Sam Darnold and Jackson Smith and Jigba Smith and Jigba
- 36:27Speaker 1: who leads the NFL in receiving by a lot over
- 36:32Speaker 1: second player. I think it's jama I forget who's second
- 36:35Speaker 1: in the NFL in receiving, but Jackson Smith and Jigba
- 36:38Speaker 1: is by far the leader in the NFL in receiving.
- 36:42Speaker 1: Why am I not talking about those guys? And I'm
- 36:46Speaker 1: sitting here talking about two assistant coaches? Well, because they're really,
- 36:51Speaker 1: really good and what they do matters a whole lot,
- 36:55Speaker 1: and that really feeds in to how this game is
- 36:59Speaker 1: going to be played. First of all, the Seahawks are
- 37:05Speaker 1: on a four game win streak. They scored forty four
- 37:08Speaker 1: points against the Cardinals last week, and the game was
- 37:10Speaker 1: over before the Cardinals got off the bus. I mean
- 37:13Speaker 1: that was a blitzkreak of a game in which the
- 37:18Speaker 1: Seahawks were up thirty five to nothing with a lot
- 37:20Speaker 1: of time left still in the second quarter, So that
- 37:23Speaker 1: game was over before it started. I've talked about it
- 37:26Speaker 1: on the show before. What this offense is and has
- 37:31Speaker 1: been basically with you know, not a great running game,
- 37:35Speaker 1: not a great offensive line, and only one true prolific
- 37:37Speaker 1: playmaker in Smith and Jigba has been nothing short of unbelievable.
- 37:43Speaker 1: And Clint Kubiak, who was with New Orleans last year,
- 37:46Speaker 1: remember they got off to that start where they had
- 37:48Speaker 1: forty points in the first two weeks and then all
- 37:50Speaker 1: the injuries settled in. But he has done a tremendous
- 37:53Speaker 1: job bringing such a great undercentered downhill play action element
- 37:58Speaker 1: to this offense. And I have to get Sam Darnold
- 38:01Speaker 1: all the credit in the world. He played at a
- 38:04Speaker 1: really high level last year, lost the last two games
- 38:07Speaker 1: of the season to come to the pressure. Kind of
- 38:10Speaker 1: looked like a guy who is always going to just
- 38:12Speaker 1: play at a certain level or needed a certain environment,
- 38:15Speaker 1: needed the Kevin O'Connell QB Whisperer can't. And then the
- 38:20Speaker 1: true colors came when at the end of the year,
- 38:22Speaker 1: when there's some pressure on him and they lost the
- 38:24Speaker 1: games and they didn't go as far as they were
- 38:26Speaker 1: gonna go. And then he goes to Seattle and you question,
- 38:29Speaker 1: without all the playmaking talent around him, new environment, no
- 38:33Speaker 1: QB whisperer, is he going to be as good? He
- 38:35Speaker 1: has been more than good. He's been unbelievable. He's been
- 38:39Speaker 1: an MVP candidate. He is playing at a level that
- 38:44Speaker 1: higher than even last year. One sixteen point five passer rating,
- 38:48Speaker 1: leads the NFL in nine point nine yards per pass,
- 38:53Speaker 1: seventeen touchdowns. He'll throw some interceptions still, he's got six
- 38:57Speaker 1: of those. But he has been unbelievable. And on the
- 39:00Speaker 1: other side, Matthew Stafford has been amazing. And now what
- 39:06Speaker 1: Sean McVay is doing, as I get back to the
- 39:08Speaker 1: coaching element of this, Sean McVay is using four tight ends,
- 39:13Speaker 1: not all at once. He is playing a lot of
- 39:15Speaker 1: thirteen personnel, but he is using tight ends interchangeably with
- 39:20Speaker 1: Higbee at Ferguson, got some other guys in there. He's
- 39:25Speaker 1: running tight ends in and out there. He is getting
- 39:28Speaker 1: in these big, heavy fronts with tight ends and passing
- 39:31Speaker 1: using the play action pass, and Matthew Stafford is playing
- 39:35Speaker 1: probably better than Matthew Stafford has played his entire career,
- 39:40Speaker 1: including when he won a Super Bowl, including his best
- 39:42Speaker 1: days with Megatron in Detroit. I mean he has twenty
- 39:46Speaker 1: five touchdowns in nine games so far. I mean he's
- 39:50Speaker 1: on pace for a fifty touchdown type season. Two interceptions.
- 39:54Speaker 1: I don't think he's thrown one since the Eagles game,
- 39:56Speaker 1: and that goes all the way back to Week three.
- 40:02Speaker 1: All right, there are five and one since that game.
- 40:04Speaker 1: They had a slip up against the forty nine ers.
- 40:06Speaker 1: I talked about that game. They were beating the forty
- 40:09Speaker 1: nine ers soundly, or had them beat in that game.
- 40:12Speaker 1: They fumbled twice, including once going into the end zone.
- 40:15Speaker 1: That really swung that game. They had their chance at
- 40:17Speaker 1: revenge last week and they beat the forty nine ers
- 40:20Speaker 1: forty two to twenty six. But defensively, defensively, the Rams
- 40:27Speaker 1: have been a very interesting team. They play a lot
- 40:30Speaker 1: of sub packages, a lot of dime, a lot of nickel,
- 40:33Speaker 1: a lot of movement on the back end. Twenty six
- 40:36Speaker 1: points you might look and say, hey, you give up
- 40:38Speaker 1: twenty six points to the forty nine ers. Okay, those
- 40:41Speaker 1: are some of that was a little bit flucish. Some
- 40:44Speaker 1: of those were late. I know Kittle had a thirteen
- 40:46Speaker 1: yard touchdown pass at the end of the game when
- 40:49Speaker 1: it was already forty two to twenty. That made it
- 40:51Speaker 1: forty two to twenty six. So I'm not gonna I'm
- 40:53Speaker 1: not gonna sit there and act as if you know
- 40:56Speaker 1: twenty six points is what really the forty nine ers.
- 41:00Speaker 1: That the forty nine Ers moved the ball really well offensively.
- 41:02Speaker 1: They averaged three point five yards per carry. All right,
- 41:05Speaker 1: they were not very efficient offense. The forty nine ers
- 41:10Speaker 1: thirty eight percent completion rate or conversion rate on third down.
- 41:14Speaker 1: It wasn't a great game for the Niners that out
- 41:16Speaker 1: of yards, sure, no doubt. But the Rams and also
- 41:20Speaker 1: it's an NFC West battle, by the way, the forty
- 41:22Speaker 1: nine ers with all their injuries, have played really well
- 41:27Speaker 1: for them to be worth that. We'll get to them
- 41:28Speaker 1: in a second. But the forty nine ers for being
- 41:30Speaker 1: six and four with all the injuries they've had, you
- 41:33Speaker 1: got to give them. Kyle Shanahan a ton of credit.
- 41:35Speaker 1: But anyway, this is a great matchup. I am very
- 41:39Speaker 1: curious to see how the Rams defense responds to the
- 41:44Speaker 1: way the Seahawks have gone play action. They throw the
- 41:48Speaker 1: ball deep to Smith and Jig, but they've got Rashid
- 41:51Speaker 1: in there now Shaheed. They haven't run the ball well.
- 41:54Speaker 1: And this is in La. One of these teams, luck
- 41:59Speaker 1: is gonna run out a little bit. I mean luck,
- 42:00Speaker 1: but one of these teams is gonna get found out
- 42:04Speaker 1: a little bit. It has the makings to be a classic,
- 42:06Speaker 1: could be one of those great down to the wire.
- 42:09Speaker 1: Whoever has the ball last game is gonna win. I
- 42:14Speaker 1: are both fairly healthy. I know the Seahawks have had
- 42:16Speaker 1: some injuries on defense. I tend to think the Rams
- 42:22Speaker 1: are three and a half point favorites, that the Rams
- 42:24Speaker 1: are the better team top to bottom. I think the
- 42:26Speaker 1: way they can control the ball with the run game,
- 42:28Speaker 1: in the pass game. Now, Adams is a little bit
- 42:31Speaker 1: banged up. He's got no bleak injury. He's gonna play.
- 42:34Speaker 1: Don't know how effective he'll be compared to ordinarily. I
- 42:37Speaker 1: have a feeling if he plays, he's gonna be fine.
- 42:40Speaker 1: He is a little banged up. But what the Rams
- 42:43Speaker 1: are doing offensively, interchanging between these heavy packages and passing
- 42:47Speaker 1: out of them, and then you know they can go
- 42:49Speaker 1: eleven personnel and run with Kyrian Williams and now Blake
- 42:52Speaker 1: Quorum in the mix. Defensively, they're solid. I feel like
- 42:56Speaker 1: the Rams have the edge here. They're at home for sure,
- 43:00Speaker 1: so that helps them too. I think it's going to
- 43:02Speaker 1: be a great game. It wouldn't surprise me if the
- 43:04Speaker 1: Seahawks won. I just feel like right now the Rams
- 43:07Speaker 1: are playing maybe a tad bit a little better. Again,
- 43:10Speaker 1: they've won four in a row. This will be the
- 43:14Speaker 1: first of two matchups, so Seattle will get a chance
- 43:16Speaker 1: if they lose this game to get the rematch. Obviously,
- 43:18Speaker 1: Seattle's won four in a row. Also, you know you're
- 43:23Speaker 1: looking for strength of win. The best win the Seahawks
- 43:25Speaker 1: have is probably at Pittsburgh thirty one seventeen. They beat
- 43:31Speaker 1: the Jags, But you know, I don't like the Jags
- 43:33Speaker 1: very much. Their last two wins have been three have
- 43:35Speaker 1: been the Cardinals, Commanders, the Texans. But in fairness, if
- 43:39Speaker 1: you look at the Rams, their last few wins are
- 43:41Speaker 1: forty nine Ers, Saints, Jaguars, so they both beat the Jaguars,
- 43:44Speaker 1: both teams haven't win over the Jaguars. The Seahawks beat them. Okay,
- 43:48Speaker 1: the Rams pounded the Jaguars thirty five to seven, and
- 43:51Speaker 1: I think the forty nine Ers win and the Colts
- 43:54Speaker 1: win by the Rams is better than any win that
- 43:58Speaker 1: the Seahawks have. That's why I'm leaning right now toward
- 44:02Speaker 1: the Rams and thinking that they're the better overall team.
- 44:04Speaker 1: It'll be a great game, and again, whoever wins, they're
- 44:07Speaker 1: gonna feel there in the driver's seat in the NFC.
- 44:09Speaker 1: Depending on what happens with the Lions and the Eagles.
- 44:13Speaker 1: The other four o'clock game, you got the Niners and
- 44:16Speaker 1: the Cardinals. Like I said, the Cardinals and I said
- 44:18Speaker 1: this last week, they're more functional offensively with Jacoby Brissett.
- 44:24Speaker 1: But eventually Jacoby Presett is your quarterback for five, six,
- 44:27Speaker 1: seven games, It's going to become problematic for your team.
- 44:31Speaker 1: That's not what you want. And like I said, they
- 44:33Speaker 1: got completely creamed by the Seahawks. It wasn't even close.
- 44:37Speaker 1: And I'm not putting that all on Jacoby Bressett. Eventually
- 44:40Speaker 1: the roof is gonna cave. My biggest issue I said
- 44:43Speaker 1: last week in this show for the Cardinals was that
- 44:45Speaker 1: they were down two cornerbacks. And when you're down two
- 44:47Speaker 1: cornerbacks against the Seahawks offense, which they were, you see
- 44:51Speaker 1: what happens. You just got no shot of slowing down
- 44:54Speaker 1: that Seahawks offense, and they didn't. And now they're going
- 44:56Speaker 1: to play the forty nine ers, and it looks like
- 44:58Speaker 1: Perdy it's finally going to come back. Juwan Johnson has
- 45:01Speaker 1: been back, Kittles back. They're not fully healthy yet. They're
- 45:04Speaker 1: still waiting on Ayuk and I have no idea when
- 45:07Speaker 1: that's gonna happen for them. We'll see what goes on
- 45:09Speaker 1: with Pierce All If they get him back, then the
- 45:12Speaker 1: forty nine ers are even in better shape. The Cardinals
- 45:15Speaker 1: defense has played well up until last week, and they
- 45:17Speaker 1: are at Arizona, so you know, I don't expect the
- 45:22Speaker 1: Cardinals to get killed. But the forty nine ers are
- 45:25Speaker 1: that team that's getting healthier and getting more in the rhythm.
- 45:29Speaker 1: McCaffrey has been unbelievable. He leads them in rushing and receiving.
- 45:33Speaker 1: Juwan Johnson and Kittle have come back and give them
- 45:35Speaker 1: given them a good element. They are overcoming the so
- 45:40Speaker 1: many injuries that they've had they've lost both for the year.
- 45:42Speaker 1: They've lost Warner for the year. They've had injuries in
- 45:45Speaker 1: the secondary. They allowed injuries to Bryce Bryce Huff, so
- 45:49Speaker 1: they had injuries on offense too. I just talked about,
- 45:52Speaker 1: and there's six and four with a chance to go
- 45:54Speaker 1: to seven and four. You hope for them that this
- 45:57Speaker 1: is not a letdown game. I mean, it's an NFC
- 45:59Speaker 1: West game. It's I don't know that there's anything like
- 46:04Speaker 1: a look ahead game because their schedule gets a little bit.
- 46:07Speaker 1: You know, they got Panthers and Browns and Titans up next.
- 46:09Speaker 1: I mean, look, this is a golden opportunity for the
- 46:12Speaker 1: forty nine ers, who are clearly not as good as
- 46:15Speaker 1: the Seahawks, and rams to keep putting pressure on them.
- 46:19Speaker 1: Get to seven and four with a win over the Cardinals,
- 46:21Speaker 1: then go beat the Panthers, get to eight and four,
- 46:23Speaker 1: then you gotta play the Browns. You can get to
- 46:25Speaker 1: nine and four, then you get to buy then you
- 46:27Speaker 1: come out of the bike, you get the Titans. Ten
- 46:29Speaker 1: and four. Is it possible, Yeah, it's possible. More realistic
- 46:34Speaker 1: nine and five probably, you know, they slip up somewhere
- 46:37Speaker 1: along the way. But the bottom line is this schedule
- 46:41Speaker 1: aligns really well for the forty nine ers, if not
- 46:44Speaker 1: to win the division, but to a least challenge for
- 46:48Speaker 1: a six or seven seed. And again, they get healthier,
- 46:51Speaker 1: they get more players back. You gotta give Robert Sala
- 46:55Speaker 1: and Kyle Shanahan a ton of credit. I know the
- 46:59Speaker 1: schedule has been easy, but this is not a Grade
- 47:01Speaker 1: fifty three with all the injuries that they've had, and
- 47:04Speaker 1: they are six and four with a chance to extend
- 47:08Speaker 1: that and really make some noise here over the next
- 47:11Speaker 1: few weeks. Ravens at Browns, Folks, what do we get
- 47:16Speaker 1: to say? The Ravens are clearly and I talked about
- 47:20Speaker 1: this last two weeks. Really now that they are healthier,
- 47:24Speaker 1: they are more like the Ravens who expected them to
- 47:26Speaker 1: be going into the year when they were my number
- 47:29Speaker 1: one ranked I thought going into the year they would
- 47:32Speaker 1: be the number one team in the NFL because of
- 47:34Speaker 1: everybody that they were bringing back, well that they had
- 47:37Speaker 1: the injuries. They had some defensive slip ups. They were
- 47:40Speaker 1: one in five at one point, which is hard to believe,
- 47:43Speaker 1: but they were. But now they're four and five. They've
- 47:46Speaker 1: won three games fairly convincingly in a row. Bears Dolphins Vikings.
- 47:50Speaker 1: You got the Browns up here. I get it. It's
- 47:53Speaker 1: a division game. I get it. The Browns have a
- 47:55Speaker 1: tough defense. It's in Cleveland. I wouldn't be surprised that
- 47:58Speaker 1: this was a little bit of a struggle, even though
- 47:59Speaker 1: they beat the Browns forty one to seventeen earlier in
- 48:02Speaker 1: the year. That was their only win when they were
- 48:04Speaker 1: one and five. But Man beat the Browns to get
- 48:07Speaker 1: the five and five. Then you got the Jets on
- 48:09Speaker 1: the schedule, then the Bengals Foss six and five, seven
- 48:13Speaker 1: and five, Steelers eight and five. I mean, the chance
- 48:16Speaker 1: for them, I don't I don't think they can run
- 48:18Speaker 1: the table. But they've got because they have the Patriots
- 48:22Speaker 1: in sixteen, week sixteen, the Packers week seventeen. So there's
- 48:27Speaker 1: probably a loss or two more left, maybe one or
- 48:29Speaker 1: two on the schedule, but they could run the if
- 48:32Speaker 1: you're telling me they beat the Browns, Jets, Bengals, and
- 48:35Speaker 1: Steelers to be on a seven game winning streak and
- 48:38Speaker 1: then beat the Bengals again to be on an eight
- 48:39Speaker 1: game winning streak, headed into the Patriots, Packers, and you
- 48:43Speaker 1: know they're at that point nine and five. Okay, maybe
- 48:51Speaker 1: we talk about them running the table. But I think
- 48:53Speaker 1: they are clearly the favorites right now in the AFC East,
- 48:57Speaker 1: and I'm sorry in the AFC and they're playing good ball.
- 49:02Speaker 1: And the Browns, you know, Kevin Stefanski once again giving
- 49:05Speaker 1: up play calling. Now we'll see if that makes a difference.
- 49:07Speaker 1: I just don't think the Browns have enough talent. I
- 49:09Speaker 1: know they got Cedric Tillman back last week, didn't do much.
- 49:12Speaker 1: They're trying to play spoiler, but there's a reason that
- 49:15Speaker 1: they are home underdogs by seven and a half points. Folks.
- 49:18Speaker 1: The other four to twenty five games are really great.
- 49:20Speaker 1: That's probably the best AFS I talked about the two
- 49:23Speaker 1: NFC matchups that are really good. The AFC matchups just
- 49:27Speaker 1: aren't as good except for this one, and this is
- 49:30Speaker 1: Chiefs versus Broncos in Denver. I have been really amazed
- 49:36Speaker 1: by some of the lines this year. The Chiefs are
- 49:40Speaker 1: three and a half point favorites on the road in
- 49:44Speaker 1: Denver against the Broncos team that's eight and two, despite
- 49:50Speaker 1: the fact that the Chiefs are coming off a loss
- 49:54Speaker 1: to the Bills, team that doesn't look as good coming
- 49:56Speaker 1: out of the by They don't have Isaiah Pacheco, I
- 49:59Speaker 1: think is banged up again. He just hasn't really been
- 50:03Speaker 1: playing that great and they're playing a Broncos team that
- 50:07Speaker 1: has won I think seven in a row. So why
- 50:11Speaker 1: are the Chiefs favorite? What someone has to explain to
- 50:15Speaker 1: me why the Chiefs are two and a half point
- 50:17Speaker 1: favorites in this game? Did did somebody on the Broncos?
- 50:20Speaker 1: Are they have like three players out? You know, looked
- 50:23Speaker 1: at the injury report. I thought everybody who's pretty good
- 50:26Speaker 1: is going to play. But for whatever reason, the Chiefs
- 50:29Speaker 1: are favored by three and a half. It's not even
- 50:33Speaker 1: the three, it's three and a half. So I think
- 50:36Speaker 1: that's in a sign of how the odds makers feel
- 50:39Speaker 1: about the Broncos offensively right now. You know, they skated
- 50:42Speaker 1: by on that Thursday nine game I think it was,
- 50:45Speaker 1: and beat the Raiders ten to seven. They just barely
- 50:48Speaker 1: beat the Texans eighteen fifteen. I get it. You know,
- 50:51Speaker 1: there went over the Giants a couple of weeks ago.
- 50:53Speaker 1: They had that epic comeback. They still only one by one.
- 50:55Speaker 1: They beat the Jets by two, but that's how they win.
- 50:58Speaker 1: They beat the Eagles by four. They're not a team
- 51:01Speaker 1: that blows teams out. Their biggest blowout win was the
- 51:05Speaker 1: Bengals Jake Browning Bengals twenty eight to three. Other than that,
- 51:09Speaker 1: They're win over the Titans was by eight, so they're
- 51:12Speaker 1: just They had a twenty point win over the Cowboys.
- 51:14Speaker 1: That's probably their most significant blowout win. They don't blow
- 51:19Speaker 1: teams out. They're not great offensively, but they're not terrible offensively.
- 51:23Speaker 1: They're just they struggle at times offensively, a little bit
- 51:26Speaker 1: like the Eagles, but with a better or at least
- 51:29Speaker 1: the defense that has been more impactful. And I get
- 51:33Speaker 1: you know, they're playing the Chiefs and they do struggle
- 51:35Speaker 1: sometimes against the Chiefs, and this is the first of
- 51:37Speaker 1: two games, but they're at home. If you're telling me
- 51:41Speaker 1: the Chiefs win, I wouldn't be surprised. But the Chiefs
- 51:44Speaker 1: are just they're just a very inconsistent team. They win
- 51:48Speaker 1: three in a row and you think that they're all
- 51:50Speaker 1: figured out. They beat the Lions by thirteen, everything's great.
- 51:53Speaker 1: Then they lose to the Bills and then they go
- 51:55Speaker 1: into the byeway. So I think it's gonna be a
- 51:57Speaker 1: great game. I think it will be close. I wouldn't
- 52:00Speaker 1: want to put money on this game because either team
- 52:02Speaker 1: can win, But it does surprise me that the Chiefs
- 52:06Speaker 1: are favorited by that much. Supposedly, it's gonna be really
- 52:09Speaker 1: nice over the weekend in Denver. So if you were
- 52:12Speaker 1: hoping for that nice, you know, cold weather November game
- 52:16Speaker 1: between these two teams, you might have to wait for
- 52:18Speaker 1: a few weeks when they play in Kansas City. All right,
- 52:24Speaker 1: Monday game, the Monday night game is not a very
- 52:29Speaker 1: good game. To be honest with you, I'm not sure
- 52:31Speaker 1: why the Raiders are on Monday Night football or why
- 52:33Speaker 1: the game never got flexed out. The game didn't get
- 52:36Speaker 1: flexed because it's the Cowboys, and the Cowboys always are
- 52:39Speaker 1: a big draw. Now, the Cowboys made some amazing deals.
- 52:43Speaker 1: I didn't love the deal for the long term, but
- 52:47Speaker 1: they made some trades to get better at the deadline.
- 52:50Speaker 1: Then they had the bye week, and then they had
- 52:52Speaker 1: an unspeakable tragedy when Marsha Neilan committed suicide. And that
- 52:56Speaker 1: is a lot to digest and overcome and to think
- 52:59Speaker 1: of out when you're in a bye week and coming
- 53:02Speaker 1: out the bye week, I'm sure it's very difficult for
- 53:05Speaker 1: the team to maintain their focus. I'm sure you're gonna
- 53:08Speaker 1: hear guys say that they are playing with their with
- 53:10Speaker 1: heavy hearts, as they should. The Raiders are a team
- 53:16Speaker 1: that will battle you at times. You know, they battled
- 53:18Speaker 1: the Broncos, they battled the Jaguars. They lost by one
- 53:22Speaker 1: to the Jags, They lost by three to the Broncos.
- 53:25Speaker 1: You know, a couple of weeks ago, they beat the Titans.
- 53:28Speaker 1: Whenever they play a good team, though, they tend to
- 53:30Speaker 1: get really stomped on. You know, they got beat bad
- 53:32Speaker 1: by the Colts, got beat bad by the Chiefs, So
- 53:36Speaker 1: it's hard to know what to expect. I think the Cowboys,
- 53:40Speaker 1: with their adjustments on defense and with what they have offensively,
- 53:44Speaker 1: are clearly the favorite, and they should be the three
- 53:47Speaker 1: and a half point favorites even in Las Vegas. But
- 53:51Speaker 1: it wouldn't surprise me, if you know, given all that
- 53:54Speaker 1: they've gone through with the trades, with obviously losing a
- 53:57Speaker 1: teammate to suicide, if they can him out there, and
- 54:01Speaker 1: you know it was the little games a little slow
- 54:03Speaker 1: to start, it wouldn't surprise me. But they really should
- 54:06Speaker 1: win this game. The Raiders are a struggling team. They
- 54:11Speaker 1: have finally gotten Boers the ball a little bit lately.
- 54:15Speaker 1: They played hard in that game against the Broncos. I
- 54:18Speaker 1: like their defensive coordinator Patrick Graham. I feel like he
- 54:21Speaker 1: does a good job with the very limited personnel that
- 54:25Speaker 1: he has. It would be nice, you know. I remember
- 54:26Speaker 1: he had a good run with the Giants when he
- 54:29Speaker 1: was their defensive coordinator. Did pretty good job with them.
- 54:31Speaker 1: He's been to some place, hasn't done a good job.
- 54:33Speaker 1: Patrick Graham's a good decordinator. But this Raiders team just
- 54:36Speaker 1: doesn't have a lot to work with. So I'm not
- 54:40Speaker 1: expecting much and I think the Cowboys will win this
- 54:43Speaker 1: game pretty convincingly when it's all said and done. All right,
- 54:47Speaker 1: I continue to struggle with my picks. I was one
- 54:50Speaker 1: and two again last week. It's funny. I know, I
- 54:53Speaker 1: sound like a broken record, but in my pick him league,
- 54:55Speaker 1: I'm I'm winning. That's when I have to pick every
- 54:59Speaker 1: single game against this I'm winning in this show. When
- 55:02Speaker 1: I only picked three games, I must pick there. I
- 55:05Speaker 1: must do a bad job of just those three games
- 55:07Speaker 1: because everywhere else I pick well. So I'm gonna give
- 55:11Speaker 1: it my best. Stab. Last week I went one and two.
- 55:13Speaker 1: I won on the Commander, I'm sorry. I won on
- 55:15Speaker 1: the Lions with the seven and a half point favorites
- 55:18Speaker 1: against Commanders. They killed the Commanders. I took the Panthers
- 55:22Speaker 1: five and a half point favorites against the Saints and
- 55:24Speaker 1: lost that because the Saints won outright. And then I
- 55:27Speaker 1: just missed on taking the Bears four and a half
- 55:30Speaker 1: against the Giants. They won by four. So we'll see
- 55:33Speaker 1: if I have better luck this week. I am taking
- 55:36Speaker 1: the Chargers getting I'm sorry, giving two and a half
- 55:39Speaker 1: points to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Jacksonville. Chargers are playing well.
- 55:44Speaker 1: I have felt that their injuries will catch up with
- 55:46Speaker 1: through them and I think at some point missing both
- 55:48Speaker 1: offensive tackles for the year Will and you all and
- 55:52Speaker 1: the running back Will I just don't think it'll be
- 55:54Speaker 1: this game. I think the come up is probably coming
- 55:58Speaker 1: for the Chargers later in the season against their divisional opponents.
- 56:02Speaker 1: If not, you give them all the credit in the world.
- 56:04Speaker 1: But I think that they can. They should beat the
- 56:06Speaker 1: Jaguars by a field goal and more so, I'm taking
- 56:09Speaker 1: the Chargers as two and a half point favorites in Jacksonville.
- 56:12Speaker 1: I'm taking the Cowboys as three and a half point
- 56:14Speaker 1: favorites at Las Vegas. I think that one's a little
- 56:17Speaker 1: bit more diceier given everything that the Cowboys are going through.
- 56:21Speaker 1: But there the Raiders are bad. I mean, they fight hard,
- 56:25Speaker 1: but the Cowboys have a lot of offensive firepower. That's
- 56:28Speaker 1: the one thing that Broncos didn't have. So when the when,
- 56:31Speaker 1: the when the when, the Raiders competed hard against the Broncos.
- 56:34Speaker 1: They made it tough because the Broncos don't score very well.
- 56:37Speaker 1: They'll have a very good offense, but the Cowboys do
- 56:40Speaker 1: and their offensive line, I forgot to mention this should
- 56:42Speaker 1: be fully healthy for the first time in weeks, so
- 56:45Speaker 1: I think that'll make a big difference for the Cowboys too.
- 56:48Speaker 1: I'm taking them as three and a half point favorites,
- 56:50Speaker 1: and the Bears, I'm gonna go with them again. Bears
- 56:55Speaker 1: are in Minnesota. They're getting two and a half points
- 56:59Speaker 1: in Minnesota against the Vikings. I like the way the
- 57:01Speaker 1: Bears are playing. I think Minnesota is still an up
- 57:04Speaker 1: and down team. So if you're telling me the Bears
- 57:08Speaker 1: are getting points, I'll take them in this situation at
- 57:11Speaker 1: two and a half to cover. So those are my
- 57:14Speaker 1: three picks. I am again. I'm twelve and eighteen overall,
- 57:17Speaker 1: and hopefully this week I'm a little bit better. That
- 57:20Speaker 1: is going to do it for this edition of the
- 57:23Speaker 1: Inside the Birds NFL Preview in Week eleven. As I
- 57:27Speaker 1: say every week, thanks for watching and enjoy your football
