Transcript
- 0:00Hello everyone and welcome to the random Heathen ramblings
- 0:03podcast, where we discuss all sorts of things Germanic,
- 0:06Heathen re related. My name is Jessie.
- 0:09I am your host. Let's get into it.
- 0:31Well. Alright.
- 0:32Alright, alright. Dan here we go.
- 0:34Lighting, starting to correct itself.
- 0:37Halen, welcome back. Everyone to this week's episode
- 0:40of the random Heathen, ramblings podcast, a midgard musings
- 0:43production. I'm your host.
- 0:44Jesse, thank you so much for tuning in here today and being a
- 0:49part of this. Every week and sharing your
- 0:53thoughts, hearing your comments, sharing the videos, liking them
- 0:57up, voting them, whatever it is, you do.
- 0:59However, it is you Age with the various platforms, when these
- 1:03sorts of things come out, it is greatly appreciated.
- 1:07And there goes my camera as I. So violently, kick it out of the
- 1:10way. That's rude.
- 1:12Jesse, don't do that for all my listeners that aren't on the
- 1:18Camera platforms are just like what happened.
- 1:20Well I just kicked the camera a little bit and it bought me a
- 1:23little bit out of frame but we are We are mainly good.
- 1:27Now, we are sort of good we're as good as it gets over here on
- 1:32the podcast. So, You may be wondering what
- 1:36this title with the what the podcast episode verbiage means.
- 1:42And I will get into that here in just a moment.
- 1:43But before we do, I would like to call all of your attention to
- 1:46the link tree link. That is annotated in the
- 1:48description of this video. And in the show notes of this
- 1:51podcast that link tree link, will give you all of the places
- 1:56that you can find me on social media, as well as some other
- 2:00ways that you can support. What I do.
- 2:03You can buy merchandise through spring, you can become a patron
- 2:06on patreon that is a bit of a mess right now and I am needing
- 2:11to revamp some things when it comes to patreon because well,
- 2:15it's a platform that I have out here and I don't do a whole lot
- 2:18with it but that will hopefully change soon.
- 2:21I said, I'm trying to come up with some some better ways of
- 2:24engagement on that platform. Since it's just it's been out
- 2:27there for so long, but I very rarely do anything with it.
- 2:29But anyway, it's down there. If you want to check it out, you
- 2:32can monetarily Support this podcast for as little as a
- 2:37dollar a month. I don't think you can do
- 2:40anything of Interest or of support for a dollar or pound as
- 2:48they say in the UK a month. So, all that stuff is in the
- 2:54linked, relink. Be sure to check it out.
- 2:55Share it around, share this around.
- 2:57And yeah, so that's about all there is to handle on the, on
- 3:05the, on the housekeeping front. So, This week's podcast.
- 3:14First of all is brought to you by anchor anchor dot f m-- and
- 3:18Spotify and everybody else. So not a sponsor but it is who I
- 3:21do my stuff through. But anyway, today's topic of
- 3:24discussion this week's topic of discussion, I say in the title
- 3:31or in the yeah the title and the thumbnail rate I am Norse Pagan
- 3:37or am I Now, that may raise some questions, the last three words
- 3:45or am I am I really Norse Pagan, you know, I think that's a fair
- 3:52question to ask because it's probably something of similar
- 3:56questions or similar question that gets asked by individuals
- 4:01to themselves about themselves in a, in some sort of way,
- 4:06right? Am I this am I?
- 4:07What I say I am do, I is the label that It is.
- 4:12Put up on me, weather. You know, whether I place it
- 4:16upon myself, whether it's placed upon me by others, or whether
- 4:22it's just a generic term, is this the most accurate?
- 4:26Label that could be pushed. That could be placed upon me.
- 4:30That could be put upon me. Or is this the best description
- 4:34out there? Now, if you guys listen to last
- 4:38week's episode and saw the Heathen, 3101 thing I went into
- 4:44some descriptions talking about This specific religious path of
- 4:53this specific spirituality path of spirituality.
- 4:56And in kind of touched upon very lightly, some of the various
- 4:59names that it's known by and I mentioned, you know Norse
- 5:02paganism or Norse Heathen re Germanic paganism dramatic
- 5:06polytheism. Also true.
- 5:08Right? Then some of these other ones
- 5:11and you know there are some there are some Labels.
- 5:18We're just going to call that, we're just going to call it
- 5:20labels for the sake of of of this episode and for the sake of
- 5:25argument, right? Because I know, excuse me,
- 5:28there, I know that'll that a lot of people dislike labels, you
- 5:32know? They they they dislike the term
- 5:36of this or that thing or the other because of whatever reason
- 5:39I'm a lot of people have different reasons but they
- 5:42choose to you know, Define themselves or be known as
- 5:47something without a label or they're pretty Ambiguous may be
- 5:53the right term or a bit Anonymous.
- 5:55I don't know. It's open-ended really like it.
- 5:57You know, there's no real specific label to what people
- 6:02want to be known as and that's fair.
- 6:06But, you know, for the sake of this podcast in the for the sake
- 6:09of the audience, right? We're going to call what I'm
- 6:12talking about labels. So, am I in Norse Pagan?
- 6:17I say I am. I do a lot of what I do in the
- 6:21the vein of what Norse paganism would.
- 6:25Encompass, right, whether it be aesthetic ritualistically,
- 6:30spiritually Norse, paganism is probably a fair label to put on
- 6:37what I do. You know, my imagery again, my
- 6:40aesthetic how I dress, how I decorate, you know, there's a
- 6:46lot of that Decor, you know the aesthetic is there. but I do
- 6:54want to talk about something that came up recently that You
- 7:00know, I'm always thinking, right?
- 7:01I'm always taken what a lot of what you guys say and using your
- 7:09feedback using the the material that becomes conversation, on
- 7:15different things that I post on my various platforms.
- 7:17And I listen, I don't always respond directly.
- 7:22I may not always reply directly. I try to stay engaged as much as
- 7:25I can with, with things. shinde and in, there are some times
- 7:33that the conversation goes off into Realms of detail and in
- 7:41granularity that I just don't have time to spend in my phone
- 7:46on my computer, just typing things out, you know, it does
- 7:50get tedious, it does become time-consuming, believe it or
- 7:53not, and I have a life, you know, I have a home, I have A
- 7:59social life. I have my wife, I have my family
- 8:01time. I have my work.
- 8:03I have all these things that everybody else has, of course.
- 8:06And on top of that being a content creator and podcasted
- 8:10right doing all the things to stay in the views of My
- 8:17supporters, my friends, my fans, the right everybody that makes
- 8:21what I do possible. And so I come here once a week
- 8:25and I ramble on about things that for me is a bit cathartic
- 8:29because I can address some of the more Deep stuff, right?
- 8:35Some of the more granular stuff and I can respond in ways that I
- 8:38feel are deserving of the type of conversation that those
- 8:43comments and whatnot. Generate and so, am I in Norse
- 8:46Pagan? This was not a, you know, this
- 8:49wasn't a question that was posed on a thread anywhere to me.
- 8:56And there wasn't really anything about this particular
- 9:00conversation that caused me to question.
- 9:03June weather. I am what I leave either have
- 9:07been labeled as or what I fall under a certain category of
- 9:10being, you know, this this this comment that that kind of
- 9:15triggered this podcast episode and in the comment thread that
- 9:21ensued from it is really just kind of put me in a frame of
- 9:24mind of kind of opening up the feeling that I had to a larger
- 9:30audience and to get some To get some engagement on it you know
- 9:37and to get some feedback on it. Because again so much of what I
- 9:41do here is fueled by what you guys and gals out here listening
- 9:45and watching respond to and so we're going to jump into it.
- 9:54There's going to be some things popping up for those that are on
- 9:58the video. You know, platforms is going to
- 9:59be some things popping up here on screen that will probably
- 10:04land right over here somewhere, screenshots of comments of
- 10:10things. And I'm not going to redact
- 10:12anything. because the comment thread is on the midgard,
- 10:20musings, Facebook page. I'm going to be linking that
- 10:23post down in the description and in the show notes.
- 10:27So for everybody that does follow me on Facebook, if you
- 10:29missed it, you want to go back and you want to see if you want
- 10:32to weigh in yourself. Please feel free to do so.
- 10:37It's going to be linked in the guy said in the description in
- 10:40the show notes, but you're going to be seeing some stuff, the,
- 10:42for those again that are watching.
- 10:46Screenshots going to be posting up on screen here, regarding
- 10:51what I'm talking about. So this post that I made Sunday.
- 10:59I think it was it was over. It was over this past weekend.
- 11:01So you know, we're going home almost into a week or so ago
- 11:05and, you know, some of the screen shots, you're going to
- 11:06see have dated it two or three days ago, but that's at the time
- 11:10of me, capturing them. So by this at this point in time
- 11:12where we're close to five days, 45 days, you know, in the past.
- 11:18So the The post in itself. Was on a Jawbone piece II
- 11:32crafted. Something out of a deer Jawbone,
- 11:36the Jawbone of a deer, right? A few weeks ago, to three weeks
- 11:41ago, maybe if that my wife was out driving around her.
- 11:45And I like to do this Pokemon go thing, Pogo.
- 11:47All right, and so, she was out just driving around.
- 11:52I was at work, she was out, driving around, and she was
- 11:55driving around in an area that it's a pretty wooded area.
- 12:01And she was just doing her Pogo thing and, and drove by this one
- 12:07area, where she noticed, what she thought.
- 12:09Thought was a large concentrated growth area of of fungus
- 12:14mushrooms and such, and she's like, oh, what's that?
- 12:16She stopped and turns out to it was the it was bones, a pile of
- 12:22bones, quite a large pile of bones, and the best that we can
- 12:29determine it was the remains of a deer, I'm talking like Dozens
- 12:35of rib, bones whole spine, including the tail, some femurs
- 12:41and, and other leg bones. And, and a jaw bone, which is
- 12:46again, what was used to make this, this piece that I'm
- 12:51talking about. So the piece is, is literally
- 12:54this. It's a Jawbone made with bells
- 12:57and Beads and some Rawhide leather binding and whatnot.
- 13:04And and first of all, it got a very big response to people.
- 13:11Like I mean there's there's all kinds of comments reactions
- 13:15shares and whatnot. But I'm calling attention to one
- 13:20individuals particular comment, which again, because it's a
- 13:24public thing. I'm not redacting any
- 13:26information because it's going to be linked down here, so
- 13:28everybody can go and see it and I have no reason to our this is.
- 13:31There's nothing to fair use. Going on here.
- 13:34But it's it's it's this comment. Popping up here on screen.
- 13:39And it says, is this a ritual to love personal Praxis or is it
- 13:47rooted in something historically?
- 13:50Heathen? Great question.
- 13:55First of all just want to say great question.
- 13:57Secondly, I want to follow up, I do respond to that you know, so
- 14:02I say it is for my personal practice.
- 14:05But before I go further into this, I do just want to say that
- 14:08I have never in the years that I have been putting out content,
- 14:13whether it be just, you know, my midgard, amusing stuff, or
- 14:17whether it be the last three. Now, going on, well, this is the
- 14:21fourth season of the random even ramblings podcast in whatever
- 14:26form of or fashion of content that I have released.
- 14:29I have never once positioned myself out here, Or in any
- 14:35platform as being a Reconstructionist or
- 14:37historically historical Recon. Historical reconstruction is
- 14:41Heathen or person. I do hold a very hot in very
- 14:46high esteem. The value behind what is
- 14:49historically documented? And I love learning things of
- 14:53history and there's so much to learn, and there's so many
- 14:56things that through, that learning you change throughout
- 15:01time, I, as new discoveries are made and as new The evidence is
- 15:07provided through archaeological and scientific research.
- 15:11There's there's a lot of growth and a lot of evolution that
- 15:15happens throughout that. So but to be fair and just to
- 15:19put it out here on the record, I am not what I would refer to as
- 15:21a hardcore reconstructions Heathen, my Heathen practices,
- 15:25the Heathen practices surrounding the tribe that I am
- 15:29tied to and with, and some of the friends that are are closely
- 15:33connected to our Inner Circle. Right.
- 15:36R. Our tribal, through our through
- 15:40our customs, our Traditions laws, if he will, aren't so much
- 15:46as you know, laws, as like concrete laid down, at least not
- 15:49yet. Because the tribe is Young,
- 15:51there is again growth and things that happen.
- 15:54But there's a When it comes to like how we not how but when we
- 16:00observe certain holy Tides yes that is rooted in historical.
- 16:05Fact, at least at least to the degree that we have right now,
- 16:09right? So when we hold, you'll is the
- 16:11historically backing. The, you know, what is
- 16:14historically backed up as when pre-christian, you always held
- 16:18same way for like see gonna blow winter nights etcetera but when
- 16:22it comes to a lot of other things, you know, like we're
- 16:23still figuring things out. We're not deeply rooted in
- 16:26historically. You know, we're not so stuck in
- 16:30the roots, we're not so rootbound that we are limiting
- 16:33ourselves to growth because the growth the growth happens above
- 16:37ground. The roots are where the Anchor
- 16:38Point is the roots are where the the, the everything is centered
- 16:42around, but growth happens above ground, right?
- 16:46It happens. Yes, the roots grow and they
- 16:49sink in deeper, but I'm talking about, like the flourishing,
- 16:51the, the growth, the expansion, everything happens above ground,
- 16:55So we take that and I take that and even with my personal
- 17:01practices, take some of the stuff from from what I learned
- 17:06or what I am learning, drought historical research and other
- 17:11things of that nature, and put it into practice, within our
- 17:16tribal construct. And so, there's a healthy blend
- 17:18of the old and the new. And it's, it's a big thing for
- 17:22me. And it's been kind of the I
- 17:24guess Mantra, if you will. I mean, you guys see it at the
- 17:27end of every podcast or at least here recently, you do you know,
- 17:31practicing old ways in modern times, finding the application
- 17:34of things that were done in old ways, Henry, and Archie, even
- 17:39times, and finding its practical use and its practicality in
- 17:44modern times. I'm not a hardcore Recon, so
- 17:50when I get questions like this, you know, is what you're doing,
- 17:53you know, based on personal areas, is it for personal
- 17:58practice, or does it have any roots in actual historical,
- 18:04Heathen re, you know, again, this this type of question
- 18:08always makes me go. Well, I guess yes or no right?
- 18:12I mean it's not a hard. Yes and or hard know there is
- 18:16some of what I do and some of what I am doing that has backing
- 18:21in it but it doesn't. It's not the reason why I do it
- 18:24right and I want to before I get into more of this topic of this
- 18:28conversation, I want to bring up one of the things that I hold
- 18:30very important and very necessary for me is Purpose.
- 18:39And the why? If, if I were to just abandon
- 18:44all of what I feel, if I were to just abandon The.
- 18:52Intuitions, the things that I know have worked for me and if I
- 18:57were to just abandon that and just go strictly based off of
- 19:01Hardcore, historical Lee backed information.
- 19:05Nothing against people that do for me.
- 19:07I feel like I would lose touch of the purpose.
- 19:10I would lose touch of the why? Because in in, I'll tell you,
- 19:14the reason why is because I again hold value to what
- 19:18information we have that has historically backed I also know
- 19:22that so much of what is historically, back this
- 19:24changeover years and it's going to continue change.
- 19:26We're going to find new things. We're going to discover new
- 19:27things, so it's an evolutionary thing.
- 19:29It's an inward, it's a work in progress, It's a living thing.
- 19:34It's not. Well, they did it that way 1500
- 19:37years ago. So that's how we have to do it
- 19:39now. And then in 10 years, we go.
- 19:40Well, maybe they didn't do white, do it that way 1500 years
- 19:43ago. Maybe they did in a little bit
- 19:44different way because we dug up something.
- 19:47Somebody in Norway somebody in Denmark.
- 19:48Somebody in Sweden, somebody somewhere dug up some I think
- 19:51that suggest otherwise and then all of a sudden wear doing
- 19:55things differently again. So again, I find Value and I
- 19:59find a purpose for what, there is an historically backed
- 20:04information, but I don't stay there, I don't reside there and
- 20:08so when people ask me what you're doing is it for personal
- 20:10practice or is there anything back around it?
- 20:12Historically you know my answer is going to be a blend of the
- 20:18two. So, I do respond, I say it's for
- 20:22my personal practice, but I asked, I said, you know, could
- 20:27you direct me and others looking to find valid historical sources
- 20:32that support that bones were used in ritual?
- 20:36Now, here's where things get to be a little messy and I
- 20:40apologize if it's not my fault, it's the way that the platform
- 20:45kind of orders the wind comments.
- 20:48Come through. So for those that are watching
- 20:50listening, right, when you click on the link, that is annotated
- 20:53you go back to this conversation thread.
- 20:57You may have to change your comments because Facebook
- 21:01automatically is going to categorize most recent content
- 21:06comments as being what gets seen first, so you're not going to
- 21:08see all combat, you're going to go in there.
- 21:12Drill down a little bit. Click on that thing that says
- 21:14most recent contacts and click all comments to see some of what
- 21:17I'm I'm talking about. and some of these things are going to
- 21:21again, are going to be screenshot it, and put up on the
- 21:26screen for you to see Butts. And again, this is going to
- 21:34require me to kind of drill down a bit through here.
- 21:37And, and, and, and point out, My responses to things.
- 21:47But suffice that to say. So again, you know I tell them
- 21:53about what it is. It's a personal thing and again,
- 22:01change it to all comments. It goes by most relevant.
- 22:03So let me go back to change it to all comments.
- 22:07You guys just bear with me. All right, here we go.
- 22:14Replies. All right, so, you know, I say
- 22:18yes, it's a personal practice thing, but where can we find
- 22:22more information about the use of Bones, specifically, bones
- 22:26that were used in ritual? This person responses as you
- 22:29know, while I'm not aware It should be up here somewhere, not
- 22:33aware of extensive use of bone charms per say.
- 22:37I'm aware that the arch Ethan's believe that the soul lived
- 22:40within the bones and I think Road to Hell by rho S Davidson
- 22:45covers that going to pause for just a minute.
- 22:49I have gone through and and gleaned most of the Road to Hell
- 22:56which is again, a very highly recommended source for the
- 23:00conceptual the Concepts of the dead and the afterlife are
- 23:05dramatic concept of Norse concepts of the Dead in the
- 23:08afterlife. Very highly recommended
- 23:11material. I suggest anybody that is
- 23:13anybody? He didn't want that.
- 23:15You know what should should get a copy of that.
- 23:20But the the part here, where it says that the soul lived within
- 23:25the bones, I am. I'm going to to venture off to
- 23:32say here that the content the concept I should say the concept
- 23:35of the Soul as a singular thing. Only happened after
- 23:40Christianity, became the norm in Scandinavia specifically, I
- 23:48don't think that the concept of the Soul was limited to a
- 23:52singular thing. Like we say, the soul lived in
- 23:55the bones, I'll have to go back and read through the road to
- 23:58hell. I have a digital PDF copy of it
- 24:01and so I'm going to, it's going to take some time, for me to go
- 24:03back through it. But if pre-christian heathens,
- 24:07if our cheese is had a concept of what happens to us when we
- 24:11die and it was linked as being just one concept of the soul.
- 24:14I don't think that Davidson's research and stuff in the road
- 24:18to Hell support that. So, there may have been a part
- 24:22of the Soul. An element of the Soul, whether
- 24:26it be the Huger the thought, right?
- 24:30Or the Hummer, the the physical part of yourself that exists
- 24:36remains in the bones. And again, without going back
- 24:39and reading through that, I know that at least in those times
- 24:44that again, the the soul, the concept, the concept of the Soul
- 24:46was multifaceted was a multi-part you had hum when we
- 24:50had the feeling, you had the Huger you had humming.
- 24:53You hear all these Various parts that constitute what the soul
- 24:57is. So your soul.
- 24:58Your spirit is not tied to just one particular thing.
- 25:00There's parts of the soul that reside, certain places that are
- 25:03able to go certain places. This was what?
- 25:05I'm pretty sure Davidson's research and stuff from The Road
- 25:09to Hell support that the soul is not tied to just one thing.
- 25:13I can't say, for sure. I'm not going to say that 100%
- 25:17assuredly. But for anybody that has a Road
- 25:20to Hell, The Road to Hell by h.r., Ellis Davidson and knows
- 25:23better, feel free to to comment. so, one other thing in terms of
- 25:31this Bone charms being used. I'm going to Also annotate.
- 25:40Something this image right here. This is a reconstructed image of
- 25:47the what is known as the shaman of below badou danberg I'm
- 25:55mispronouncing that oh well but the shaman of Ogdensburg, this
- 26:00this image is a reconstructed image.
- 26:03I believe it's a reconstructed image of of a woman.
- 26:07A young middle-aged woman, who existed.
- 26:12Some. I want to say, like, between
- 26:17five to seven thousand years ago in an area of the world and
- 26:22during an age, that was part of Saxony.
- 26:27I'm going to link something in the show notes and in the
- 26:31description for you guys to read more about it.
- 26:33But clearly the remains of this Shaman of this woman were
- 26:38discovered in, I think it was a bog or something.
- 26:42Anyway, they were they were Unearthed, they were discovered
- 26:44and And with the remains of this person were bones.
- 26:50And and other artifacts. And if there's all kinds of
- 26:54Bones there, there's crane, there's there's Beaver, there's,
- 26:58I mean, there's, there's all kinds of things of bone remnants
- 27:05that were buried with this person and the shamans, you
- 27:09know, in many cultures are highly esteemed, highly, highly
- 27:13respected people, right? For having mastered skills of
- 27:18healing. Through medicine through ritual
- 27:23trance through various methods. And so when we find remains like
- 27:29this of people who are buried with certain items and then
- 27:32chances are the the reason why they were buried with them is
- 27:36because they were used in their everyday practices or at least
- 27:39in their semi regular everyday practices, right?
- 27:42They were they were someone of high esteem in their society
- 27:46that they wanted those things that they were that the in used
- 27:51in there every day to day, life to carry with them into the
- 27:54Afterlife. And it is largely believed and
- 28:01speculated that these bones were part of ritual, attire, so jaw
- 28:07bones teeth, you know, whatever other parts of the body of the
- 28:15animal that were used in, whether it would be a headdress
- 28:18or whether it be some sort of adornment right bones were used.
- 28:23So this is clearly one particular thing that that
- 28:28predates Christianity in the North, Right.
- 28:32It's again data to be during whatever millio missile of like,
- 28:38I don't know. But whatever it is.
- 28:39It's I'm going to put it up here on the screen that this age.
- 28:43Okay. This age, it's old.
- 28:48It's really, really old. And You know, it's in Saxony,
- 28:55saxony-anhalt of Saxony. So there's there's some evidence
- 29:01for you that. Highly suggest that bones had a
- 29:08place in in that regions spiritual practices.
- 29:17I made some comments. that that, that lead to a person say they
- 29:27were likely to this person saying that, I'm curious how it
- 29:30is that you feel about the guarding of sacral spaces
- 29:34objects in accesses, we have some evidence like in the
- 29:38accounts of bead that shows that showing the contents of your
- 29:45Hearth cult to guard was a quote, unquote taboo or was a
- 29:51taboo, I find it like That in modern practices heathens would
- 29:53only break this topic for academic reasons as
- 29:56reconstruction may require sure that's a fair.
- 29:59That's a fair statement. And so, but but here's the,
- 30:04here's kind of my response to some of this.
- 30:06And I allude to this in a comment saying that I don't when
- 30:12it comes to sharing things of Sacre de sacredness, right?
- 30:17Sacral space sacred objects, right?
- 30:19I mean this was this was this is a piece of a deer bone that I
- 30:23crafted and said, this is a ritual piece that I made.
- 30:27I hadn't used it yet in ritual. It was, it was a work in
- 30:30progress and I was just sharing the crafting of it, right?
- 30:35I don't film. Shouldn't say I don't I don't
- 30:42share what is filmed of any sort of a ritual nature, right?
- 30:47If I'm doing ritual whether it be personal Hearth, cult stuff,
- 30:53or whether it be on a larger scale.
- 30:54If anything gets filmed, it doesn't get shared publicly in
- 30:57the moment, right? I don't film a ritual, nothing
- 31:00gets film. That gets shared for the public
- 31:02to see because It may be filmed or may be documented for again,
- 31:07for research purposes for for my own.
- 31:12You know, references to go back and say that was something I
- 31:15wanted maybe do different or whatever.
- 31:17And we have these tools available to us.
- 31:19Now that I think if it had been existing in ancient times may
- 31:25have been leveraged and may have been used, can we say that for
- 31:28sure? Is that speculation?
- 31:29I absolutely 100%. Right.
- 31:32We do know, we do get a sense of of the like what he's talking
- 31:37about here, or what this person is talking about here of the The
- 31:43they're being penalties to sharing these sorts of things to
- 31:48the outside to what he says, who card, you can guard the, the
- 31:51outer layer. The so we have in and garden
- 31:53garden, inner yard, outer yard. There was a pretty clear like
- 32:01lines were drawn barriers were defined.
- 32:05You know what I mean? Sacred Space was defined as
- 32:08Sacred Space. And what was beyond what was
- 32:10without that was, was not And so we you know we see some
- 32:16examples, I'm going to be talking a little bit more about
- 32:18this as I go through some of the comments that certain and very
- 32:23specific things were kept 100% withdrawn from the outside.
- 32:27In other words, they were only for the household.
- 32:30They were only for the families and it was it was it was
- 32:34something very private and so wasn't shared abroad and I
- 32:39appreciate and I and I find that there is value to be placed on
- 32:43that. so this, this particular comment, I, you know, I had I
- 32:55had said that, you know, I don't think, or I don't film sorry.
- 32:59I don't film a record. Any rituals being done in the
- 33:02moment when I'm doing it already said this but to the point that
- 33:08I said that, you know what was taboo, In medieval Scandinavia
- 33:13or before is what it was for the time and that we aren't living
- 33:17in those times. So my my counter-argument to
- 33:22this person's comment or I guess my counter.
- 33:25Yeah, my wasn't necessarily an argument.
- 33:27It was it was discussion right. Debate healthy debate.
- 33:31You know, when you bring up things like taboo, I first of
- 33:34all, think mostly I think and it's this, maybe just my
- 33:38jumping, the gun or my assumptions.
- 33:40But I'm wondering if people think this to when we, when we
- 33:42hear the word taboo, right? We're thinking of social taboos.
- 33:45We're not necessarily thinking of things of a religious, or
- 33:48spiritual nature things that were taboo or not to be done,
- 33:53right? Because of religious.
- 33:56Consequences, or a reasons that could negatively impact you from
- 34:02a religious or spiritual nature, where I think most of us think
- 34:04of taboos is things that just didn't Jive for the society at
- 34:08the time. So we were talking about, you
- 34:09know, social taboos But there are religious taboos amongst
- 34:16certain cultures and among certain belief systems, right?
- 34:19It is taboo for the Muslims and Christians to eat pork, for
- 34:22instance, as a word, maybe not Christians per se, I know
- 34:25Christianity. It does adopt some judeo
- 34:28abrahamic beliefs, which is again.
- 34:30The Jews don't eat pork and neither do Muslims, but we'll
- 34:34get into that in just a minute. But so, there you go, there you
- 34:36go. There, there's a religious taboo
- 34:38it. Is it again, it is against
- 34:40Divine Law. To do x y z and that's where the
- 34:45religious taboo comes in. So I say that right in their
- 34:48response and that's going to be the condiment that gets put up
- 34:52here. Is that so you don't think It
- 34:57was a matter of orthopraxy when beads Source was chased away at
- 35:03out of a bloat. Why should we not mind the
- 35:06taboos of the arch heathens? If they, where, I guess he meant
- 35:11to say if they were the last ones to have Divine contact, I
- 35:16hire an Arab muffiny. And are puffy.
- 35:22Is that right? That word.
- 35:27What is the exact inspiration of the item looks Sami?
- 35:31Which is a different mystical and ritual tradition.
- 35:34One, that only overlapped with the arch heathens practice and
- 35:38amount, small amounts and in minority of places.
- 35:43So, let me back up, right? Talking about beads Source being
- 35:49chased away at Alpha book. I want to call attention to the
- 35:51fact that at the time of my response to this, if you guys
- 35:53are going to go back and read the comments, Time of my
- 35:56response to this. The comments said.
- 35:59When bead was chased away at awful, blow, you'll notice that
- 36:02there are edits being made to this.
- 36:05It says edited somewhere, which means the author made some
- 36:10changes, that's fine. Sometimes you miss speak,
- 36:12sometimes you say things sometimes you got to change what
- 36:14you're going to say, I get that and it's okay.
- 36:18So I'm thinking that at this point in time, what they were
- 36:20trying to say was that there was a there was the source that bead
- 36:24was using to talk about Alpha bloat.
- 36:28And again I'm not I'm not the best person to talk to about
- 36:31what bead says the venerable bead.
- 36:34I know that that's a considered to be either a primary or
- 36:38secondary source for a lot of Mainland Germanic Heathen, re
- 36:44Saxon Heathen re But it's, you know, there's Christian bias,
- 36:49there has to be Christian bias because he was a freaking, I
- 36:52don't know bishop or something. Right.
- 36:57So, anyway, there there's there's talk of beads Source
- 37:00being chased away at Alpha bloat to which I had said that I'm not
- 37:06familiar with nobody being chased away at Alpha, boat Alpha
- 37:09blow. But I don't argue the fact that
- 37:11it happened because Alpha boat was clearly only a family
- 37:15affair. Held by the swedes.
- 37:20I believe the swedes held it privately.
- 37:23Maybe it was the Norwegians somebody in Scandinavia was the
- 37:27Scandinavians that at the time Alpha bloat which was a winter
- 37:33night, sort of thing. Was it was a blow to the out
- 37:39far. Now some might say it was a blow
- 37:42to the elves. Other might say that it is, it
- 37:44is ancestral Alpha being the male ancestors.
- 37:49But either way, it was a private Affair.
- 37:52And so anybody came coming by Happening by by mistake or
- 37:57Uninvited was quickly dealt with and said, you know, you're not
- 38:02allowed to be here. To that point, my tribes winter
- 38:07nights. Celebration is tribe only.
- 38:10So, for some of our Affairs, when we have, like, you know,
- 38:14you'll or Seeger blow, write it. The way that we do it is, is we
- 38:18invite others that are friends to the tribe that our allies
- 38:21that are, you know, welcome in our home and welcome to this
- 38:24place. Winter nights is strictly cut
- 38:28off. Its tribe only So in that way,
- 38:32we we hold some of those Traditions, okay?
- 38:36But it makes good sense why they wouldn't want Outsiders and I
- 38:40allude to that when it comes to taboos.
- 38:44And again, I'm guilty of this because I thought of taboos just
- 38:47being so shy said, taboos change over time just because Archie,
- 38:50there's believe certain things were taboo at the time.
- 38:53It's not good enough reason for me.
- 38:57To think they're still taboo now saying that they were the last
- 39:02ones to have the vine. Contact is also not accurate to
- 39:04me. This is going back to this
- 39:07person's saying that. Why should we not mind the
- 39:11taboos of The Artisans? If they were the last ones to
- 39:13have Divine contact? So to that again, I say that
- 39:22they were the last ones, it doesn't seem accurate to me
- 39:24because how can we honestly believe that the sacred have not
- 39:27interacted with the profane / mundane since the Viking age
- 39:31earlier? I've had my own experiences
- 39:34which I clearly defined saying that they are you PJ and I know
- 39:37that that confirmed to me the presence of the Divine.
- 39:39In my Hearth cult, my in a cult in her individual, cultic
- 39:44practices and larger scale rituals, which have included
- 39:48people out Out of my own tribe, I have felt the presence of the
- 39:51Divine. I have I have, you know, and
- 39:53what is, what is, historically accurate Source material anyway,
- 39:57other than what has just, you know, proven through the test of
- 40:02time that, you know, somebody saw something and felt something
- 40:05at one point time. It was there UPG and it just
- 40:07happens to be, you know, it was a thousand or more years ago and
- 40:10so it turns into material because somebody wrote it down
- 40:13and we dug it up somewhere. We're at found in the library
- 40:15and then all of a sudden, its historical fact, you know, it
- 40:19could Probably go around and around with conversations like
- 40:22that, which I love, but the fact of the matter is that, you know,
- 40:26what I experienced, I could write it down and then in 100
- 40:29200, 300 500 thousand years from now.
- 40:32People could dig that shit up and be like, you know, back in
- 40:362020. You know, back in the back of
- 40:38the 21st century, man, these people were something else
- 40:41because they believe this that thing in the other, because look
- 40:43at what we found written down on this piece of paper that we dug
- 40:45up. And I said no one, no matter how
- 40:49much of a Recon that they are. Can convince me otherwise, Never
- 40:54Say Never, but I haven't met one yet as for the nature and
- 40:57inspiration of the eye of because he's asking, are they
- 40:59are asking the nature inspiration inspiration?
- 41:02The item I said, it lies heavily in my Hearth cult practices
- 41:05which leans in the realm of animism.
- 41:12Something that has existed in cultures around the world, not
- 41:14just saw me or others. Or other indigenous Pi Pi
- 41:18proto-indo-european Pi e people's style of the item.
- 41:22May reflect similarities to the saw me but have no intention on
- 41:26doing. So, it wasn't the intent for me
- 41:28to copy. Sami Aesthetics. so look the And
- 41:41this is kind of where I can I get to the mi in Norse Pagan,
- 41:44right? So you've got this umbrella term
- 41:48paganism. That's just you know anybody
- 41:50that's you know a polytheist or ain't like, you've got so many
- 41:53different branches of paganism Celtic.
- 41:57Paganism Germanic paganism, African paganism, Asian
- 42:01paganism, Shinto. I mean, you got so many
- 42:03different things, right? I mean it's the umbrella term.
- 42:07Now Norse paganism, could be an umbrella Under the Umbrella,
- 42:10because you could be talking about Scandinavian Icelandic,
- 42:13even re you could be talking about Mainland Germanic Saxon
- 42:17Heathen re you could be talking about, you know, A variety of.
- 42:24Flavors that get lumped into this just numerous paganism,
- 42:29right? So it's like it's a really it
- 42:33the label thing really gets the waters get murky when you start
- 42:38just generalizing things. So am I in Norse Pagan.
- 42:42That's probably the easiest answer that I could give to
- 42:44somebody in terms of what do you believe in what your what Your
- 42:47religious practice? It's Norse paganism.
- 42:49But it's so much more than that because the what I said is, How
- 42:53Deeply rooted in animism? My practice is have evolved into
- 42:57is evident in much of what I share publicly in terms of my
- 43:03thoughts, or where I go or where I find my peace at is, in
- 43:07nature, right? Talk about my Riverwalk.
- 43:10So I talk about my own philia, the heroin I've shared, you
- 43:14know, I'm gonna this thing thats hanging up which you really
- 43:18can't see a whole lot of it. But it's literally a feather
- 43:22necklace with, with rib bones that my wife made.
- 43:25I mean, that's atomistic is as hell, man.
- 43:28You know, again, what is that? What is Is it my personal
- 43:32practices isn't anything historically based in here?
- 43:34He won't know man, if you want to go back and you want to, you
- 43:37know, blame the the the shaman of baden-württemberg on the
- 43:41reason why we all wear bones and stuff.
- 43:43Now is dramatic pagans as Norris heathens as whatever the label,
- 43:47we want to put onto it. Well, I guess you could say that
- 43:50there's your, you know, historical source that they were
- 43:55used or that they had Implement, you know that they were
- 43:58implemented in spiritual religious practices.
- 44:01But at the end of the day, man, like it's hard to put a label to
- 44:05this stuff and I think that's one of the reasons why so many
- 44:08people just you know, want to get away from labels.
- 44:13They want to get away from putting a sticker on it, putting
- 44:17a stamp on it you know, So some more of the comments, right?
- 44:27You're going to see some of this posted up here on the screen
- 44:29now. Sorry for multi post and deletes
- 44:31because Facebook is other La is it appropriate for morals to
- 44:35break taboos that are of divine inspiration?
- 44:38In my opinion? So I didn't I didn't answer this
- 44:42question in the chat or in the sorry in the in the thread, the
- 44:47comment thread because again, there's just so much here to
- 44:49digest and I feel like this is easier for me.
- 44:51No, I don't think it's appropriate for for us that
- 44:57exists in the profane space too. Just arbitrarily decide that
- 45:04things that were of a unacceptable nature religiously
- 45:09that applied then don't apply. Now II, don't think those sorts
- 45:13of things change. What I was mainly referring to
- 45:15where the taboos of a social nature, right?
- 45:18Because again, societies change, cultures evolve and social
- 45:24taboos from 1000 1500 years ago. Largely have no place here now.
- 45:33So now I don't think that it's wise or well-to-do to just
- 45:39arbitrarily decide that religious taboos, spiritual
- 45:43taboos, things that didn't work back then when dealing with the
- 45:47sacred, when dealing with the Divine, don't carry over into
- 45:50now because again, it goes back to the whole judeo, religions
- 45:57Muslims. Islam Christianity when it says
- 46:01in their sacred texts to not do XYZ then, it doesn't matter.
- 46:04That it was written. However, many thousands of years
- 46:07ago they believe it to be true and valid and stuff.
- 46:10Now So to take that into consideration to look at the
- 46:16bigger picture of things. No, I don't think that it's
- 46:19appropriate to break taboos of that nature of divine or sacred
- 46:26context to which they say, don't forget when Serious penalties
- 46:34not just of a social nature but a Divine one for breaking
- 46:37taboos. Yeah.
- 46:37Look I'm not I'm not going to touch on the social taboos
- 46:40because social taboos 1500-2000 whatever years ago.
- 46:44You know. We're not going to Stone
- 46:46adulterers, we're not going to we're not going to burn witches.
- 46:48We're not going to, you know, put a Scarlet Letter on on like
- 46:52those those things that were taboo back then, and the way
- 46:54that we respond to it now, I mean Times have changed, right?
- 47:00Things are just generally unacceptable to most societies
- 47:05there is, there are certain social taboos that even back
- 47:08then, don't they know that they didn't age well, you know what I
- 47:13mean? Like, you know, it was shit
- 47:15back, then it's shit now. So, but, He says, he recalls a
- 47:21priest of freyr of fray that it was in the Lord, who was denied
- 47:26luck by the gods. Because he allowed his son, who
- 47:30was Outlaw into one of phrase. Groves underarms, meaning he was
- 47:37wearing weapons and stuff. And that that time that was you
- 47:40don't enter Sacred Space. With with weapons with iron with
- 47:46that sort of thing. and we see that reflected now in a lot of
- 47:50pagan practices right now, I know a lot of people who, when
- 47:53they, when they make Sacred Space, when they create Sacred
- 47:55Space, Anything of an artificial or metal even nature, right?
- 48:02No weapons, no blades. No iron and this is not
- 48:05Electronics. Technology is kept with out of
- 48:08that space and I agree with a lot of that.
- 48:12That's I think there's a place for that.
- 48:18This is an example of an of a taboo that exist for a reason.
- 48:21Sure. Clearly ordained by the gods
- 48:22themselves. Should that change within the
- 48:24times. Again, I go back to the whole
- 48:28thing that if it, you know, if we look back and we see that
- 48:32there were Clear barriers defined with how and when how
- 48:38the gods were interacted with conditions in which the gods
- 48:41were interacted upon. I don't think we should just
- 48:47arbitrarily. I want to key in on that
- 48:48arbitrarily decide that it's Not a good idea, right?
- 48:53Because what happens tomorrow or ten years from now when you dig
- 48:55up, something that suggests otherwise we're basing, all of
- 48:59this stuff off of the information that we have at
- 49:02hand. And as long as we recognize
- 49:03that, as long as we accept that, I think we're all in a position
- 49:07of being able to grow and with that information as we get it.
- 49:13Taboos are an important part of religiosity.
- 49:17Religious taboos. Sure because again they say
- 49:20would a Muslim or Jewish man be free of any criticism from the
- 49:22fellow from their fellows for eating pork when he doesn't have
- 49:28to. Again there's the vine law that
- 49:30says otherwise these animals are unclean lot of that.
- 49:33I mean I grew up Christian for several decades couple of
- 49:36decades 20, some odd years of my life.
- 49:39I, you know, followed a more Christian path and I lived that
- 49:43very devoutly, especially in my youth And in my childhood where
- 49:48you know we didn't we didn't eat certain vegetables and we didn't
- 49:51need certain routes. We didn't eat certain things
- 49:52because of the interpretation. We got from the Bible, right?
- 50:01I mean we didn't eat potatoes. We didn't eat tomatoes.
- 50:04They need onions. you know, that's a whole other
- 50:08conversation for another time but, you know, you want to get
- 50:10into taboos and religiosity You know, it was at a point of time
- 50:17where it was like, well, this isn't about, it's not just about
- 50:20right and wrong, it's about perfection.
- 50:21Its about fine-tuning ourselves to getting better in touch with
- 50:27the Divine God, whatever. So I know I think you know
- 50:33there's there is there is definite place for that.
- 50:37I had mentioned UPG person says, he has exactly that UPG as far
- 50:41as facts are concerned there. Is a huge gap in context with
- 50:48our higher Divine Ergo, the arch Ethan's from a theological
- 50:50perspective, are indeed the last hold.
- 50:55They are popping. But are they though, is it?
- 50:58Because is it only? Because that's all we have is
- 51:00that is documented Source material that suggests or that
- 51:06that supports that Was not their interactions with the Divine at
- 51:15the time. Their UPG for them that that
- 51:18that term didn't exist back then.
- 51:19But was it not UPG at the time? I can test and I would say that
- 51:25it was because when it comes to things that we can't see that we
- 51:29can't tangibly like hey John, come over here.
- 51:33You see what I see? Right?
- 51:35It's this piece of paper that says a lot.
- 51:37Yeah, I see that. Okay, good, we agree.
- 51:40All right. Well, if it ain't that and it's
- 51:42just guys, I, you know, I just saw this thing.
- 51:45I just experienced this thing. This is where I think things are
- 51:47at. And then everybody else was
- 51:48like, wow, that's profound, I want to experience that, right?
- 51:51And then next thing, you know, all these oral tradition Become.
- 51:55Traditions exactly that. It could be they become exactly
- 51:58that. It's now what this guy did or
- 52:00what those people did, let's all of us do it.
- 52:02Let's find a way for it to fit into our, you know, Praxis of
- 52:07orthopraxy or whatever and then, and it becomes historical
- 52:13material, it becomes Source material becomes the thing that
- 52:16we're sitting here, you know, 1,500 2,000 years later or more
- 52:20saying that, that's how it should be done now.
- 52:22Because some guy women who ever People in an ancient society
- 52:27that are long Dead and Gone experience and and they made it.
- 52:31So so, That's that's my stance on it.
- 52:45So his let me ask you, would you want the, would you want to
- 52:49interact with a being that regularly disregards your taboos
- 52:55while claiming to live in a way that's in line with your culture
- 52:58and through Through is law through his specifically log as
- 53:07defined in in within Heathen context, right?
- 53:13Somebody out here, prove me wrong right through his tribal
- 53:19Tribal Law. Quite often times lines up with
- 53:22an over arching law but you got to look at the context of this.
- 53:26This this thing through was law at the time in the way that the
- 53:31world was built and the way the society was functioning at the
- 53:35time. So my tribes through, or my
- 53:39tribes customs and traditions aren't necessarily going to be
- 53:42the same as the next tribes Customs or Traditions.
- 53:45They may be there may be similarities there, maybe.
- 53:48You know, overarching themes and you know, enough stuff to
- 53:53suggest that there's a closeness to it.
- 53:54But you know, the way that that certain things were done in one
- 53:58region, were not the way, the same.
- 54:00We're not the same way things were done in another region.
- 54:03So to kind of lump it all into the same description.
- 54:08I don't know if that's what was intended, but that's what I'm
- 54:10understanding. Is like, all the gods, no matter
- 54:14where you are, right, the gods of Saxony, We are not the same
- 54:19gods of Scandinavia. Well, are they are, they were
- 54:23just named different things and were those Traditions, not
- 54:25picked up from that region and then they are localized stuff,
- 54:32became a part of the the practices.
- 54:34And so therefore, that through became unique to those people,
- 54:40you can't. I don't think that we can deduce
- 54:43that You know, like it be like, let's just say, I don't know.
- 54:51I'm from New York, right? I'm from New York and I live in
- 54:54Tennessee. Well, the way that we do things
- 54:56in New York is, you know, a certain way.
- 55:00Our social skills are social construct is different in the
- 55:03part of New York where I'm from. I came to Tennessee.
- 55:06And I remember first time walking into a Walmart and get
- 55:08people talking to me that I've never met in my life.
- 55:10And I go, who the hell are you? Why are you talking to me,
- 55:12right? Social, you know, differences,
- 55:16you know, just because I'm in a different.
- 55:18Different place, and I'm at a different time.
- 55:20In my life doesn't make it wrong.
- 55:21It's just that's foreign to me. Doesn't but I learned, From
- 55:27living in this area and from being in the state and from
- 55:30being in this region that. Well, that's just normal, that's
- 55:32their social construct. That's the way these people do
- 55:35things. And so now that I'm here and
- 55:37they're spaced, it's, you know, again I'm not trying to I'm not
- 55:41trying to compare the the dealings of the profane humans
- 55:47with the dealings of the Gods II.
- 55:49Get it. There's a big difference there.
- 55:52But, you know, when the comments made is, you know, would I want
- 55:57to interact with a being? That is regularly disrespectful
- 56:00of my taboos. Why do I have those taboos?
- 56:06Again your it's apples and oranges, man.
- 56:08Like I'm I'm just a just a guy. I'm just a human being.
- 56:14I'm not, I'm not. In the mindset.
- 56:17I don't, I don't think the way the Divine think, I don't think
- 56:19the way the sacred thing none of us do.
- 56:22All right. Putting that out there.
- 56:26We're all humans. We're all living in profane
- 56:29space and time. I have actually had experiences
- 56:32myself that I will put on the table as being 100% UPG but I
- 56:36have heard the voice of Odin. I have seen the faces of the
- 56:39gods that is UPG. Anybody wants to cut and clip
- 56:45whatever that's UPG for me. I have seen what I've seen.
- 56:48I've heard what I've heard. None of this really matters.
- 56:52It did the taboos to me, religious taboos again, I get
- 56:58it. I understand that the importance
- 57:00of the context that that that exists there, you know, don't do
- 57:06certain things because it makes the gods man.
- 57:08Well, Or makes the Divine mad or it upsets the Divine.
- 57:12We're going to lose our luck. If we do XYZ Yeah, that was that
- 57:19was that was the way that they view the world.
- 57:22Then in that region you told you talking about a priest of fray
- 57:27for are very very big time with the sweets, right?
- 57:31They weren't they weren't big until like, I mean, here I go
- 57:41again, trying to prove, not prove a point but to make a
- 57:44point that, you know, the England is Saga, you know, your
- 57:47names like Odin and balder and and and, and so on and so forth.
- 57:50But like this, we know that the swedes were big with Freire.
- 57:54Like Fray, your dad, like they had a big, you know, you want to
- 57:59call the Vanier tribes of the Gods, like they were very
- 58:02important to the swedes. So it makes sense that if you
- 58:06know you had a priest, a Goethe, whatever of rare that that
- 58:13messed up and had a son that did something that was against the
- 58:16taboo at the time was Outlaw and then you just let allow this
- 58:19this person to walk into a Grove dedicated to your deity
- 58:23underarms you damn, right. The people be like well now we
- 58:28know all of our Cheerios just got pissed in Thanks, dude.
- 58:33You just ruined it for all of us.
- 58:34Now we got to, you know, kill x amount of sheep.
- 58:36Now, we gotta burn x amount of green boughs of grain or we got
- 58:40to do all these things to appeal to our higher power ores Powers,
- 58:44whatever. And you know make it right set
- 58:49the balance back into order. So I don't know, man.
- 58:53I, you know, if the the question is, you know, would you would
- 58:59you want to interact with the being that regularly disregards,
- 59:02your taboos? As a human.
- 59:07I invite people over to my home, to interact with me and and
- 59:10under the Under the sovereignty of my Hearth.
- 59:16It is expected that they abide by these rules.
- 59:19And so, to that degree, I think that the people of the time
- 59:23understood that, that was expected of people.
- 59:25And so they probably extended that same belief into into the
- 59:28into the realm of the Divine as well.
- 59:35What? Contact?
- 59:37Let's see here, our team happens on the gods terms.
- 59:40Sorry. Furthermore you seem to okay,
- 59:42let me back up. I'm rambling on.
- 59:45Literally in two parts of the conversation that I haven't
- 59:48touched upon yet. would you abstain from such an offensive
- 59:53person is being that regularly disregards your taboos while
- 1:00:04claiming to live in a way that's in line with your culture, or
- 1:00:07would you abstain from such an offensive person?
- 1:00:10I would try to figure out why they thought that way.
- 1:00:14Hey, why do you feel that way? What can I learn from you?
- 1:00:16Is it, is it a cultural thing? Is it, is it something that
- 1:00:19because, look guys, man, I was raised, I was raised to believe
- 1:00:22that that certain things were taboo.
- 1:00:24Piercings tattoos, right taboo? You don't do it.
- 1:00:30Why? Because the Bible Oh says, you
- 1:00:31don't Mark your bodies or with this that thing in the other?
- 1:00:34Well, I threw that shit out the window, you know.
- 1:00:36Of course, when I banned in Christianity, but then I
- 1:00:38realized, it doesn't even make sense because look at the look
- 1:00:41at some of the things that existed at the time cultures
- 1:00:44that, that, that have, you know, a place in that.
- 1:00:50Practice, right? They have where your skin is
- 1:00:53marked and you have piercings and things.
- 1:00:55And that be that that's part of their social Norm, it's not
- 1:00:58taboo for them. Well, it was taboo because of,
- 1:01:01you know, whatever priest or whatever, you know, person
- 1:01:05connected to the Divine says it was, but, does it really matter?
- 1:01:12I don't I don't have that answer.
- 1:01:14I'm not I don't live in the city, the head space, or the, or
- 1:01:16the time and space of the Divine.
- 1:01:19All right, so furthermore, you seem to believe he says, or they
- 1:01:21say that you furthermore seem to believe in the difference in
- 1:01:25profane space and Sacred Space. As The Artisans did.
- 1:01:29I do with that conclusion, not inform you, that they are puffy
- 1:01:36happens on the gods terms We're contact automatic and constant
- 1:01:43by virtue of merely being human. I don't think there would be a
- 1:01:48distinction between holy and profane space.
- 1:01:51Like we saw it in the Ancients. Do I disagree?
- 1:01:57I'm trying to understand the context of the question here,
- 1:02:00but I do believe that we exist in profane space, the God's
- 1:02:06existence Sacred Space. There are times when we can kind
- 1:02:13of break through the barrier. Certain people have an easier
- 1:02:18time doing it than others. And there are, there are ways to
- 1:02:21be able to do that. We're not limited to just
- 1:02:24existing and profane space and time we can leave our Heathrow
- 1:02:30bodies. We can we can transcend that and
- 1:02:33we can become part of at least temporarily the the divine's,
- 1:02:40Space and time. He says, I don't think there
- 1:02:49would be a distinction between holy and profane space.
- 1:02:53Like we saw in the ancient. So I disagree, I guess I
- 1:02:56disagree. I mean, I again I think there is
- 1:02:59a definite separation. I think when we work our various
- 1:03:05rituals, right? We are living.
- 1:03:07We are existing in profane space but we are trying to create a
- 1:03:12space that is separate from the profane.
- 1:03:14We are creating barriers. We are creating a space that
- 1:03:16invites the Divine in, right? So those those measures those
- 1:03:20methods whether historically drawn from her, not are our
- 1:03:26attempts at connecting to the sacred.
- 1:03:33I think this comment. About UPG.
- 1:03:38It says, upz isn't up for discussion.
- 1:03:40As it means nothing to the Grandeur themes of the religion
- 1:03:43that we all are reconstructing. How does it not?
- 1:03:47How does UPG not play a factor here?
- 1:03:49As long as we're defining it as such, right?
- 1:03:52It's all speculative. All right, there's nobody that
- 1:03:55we can sit in front of and talk to, right now, that knows how it
- 1:03:58was done. 1,200 1,500 2,000 years ago.
- 1:04:00There isn't where reconstructing Things based off of
- 1:04:03archaeological and scientific evidence.
- 1:04:09Sources materials things that we people have Unearthed.
- 1:04:15To come up with educated. Reasonings as to why, or how or
- 1:04:21what, you know, UPG should be up for discussion because there has
- 1:04:26to be. I mean, it has to be I, again, I
- 1:04:29mentioned earlier, I haven't found anybody no matter how
- 1:04:32court of a reconstruction reconstructions.
- 1:04:34They are that can convince me. Otherwise, how can you be Gene
- 1:04:38not be up for discussion? How can we not talk about these
- 1:04:42things? Because I'm not trying to, I'm
- 1:04:45not trying to erase all of the historical stuff.
- 1:04:49I'm trying to bring to light things that were happening at
- 1:04:51the time that were likely. Just someone or someone's like,
- 1:04:56multiple people's UPG that that just somehow happened to, to
- 1:05:01make it into the record books, you know, they they made it and
- 1:05:06what how much of what we're doing right now is going to
- 1:05:09become the same thing. In however many years down the
- 1:05:14road. There's there's a lot to all of
- 1:05:21this and guys and I've been rambling now myself for over an
- 1:05:24hour and I didn't realize that it was going to go this deep or
- 1:05:28go this far. So there may be a part two to
- 1:05:29this if you guys want to hear more and you guys want to Talk
- 1:05:34more about this, you know, I think that it would be best to
- 1:05:37just break it off right now, but let me know in the comments,
- 1:05:42right? Because again there's so much of
- 1:05:44what I do is circulated around what you guys share and what you
- 1:05:48guys talked about whether you know it or not your thoughts and
- 1:05:51your comments mean a lot to me. And and it is the fodder.
- 1:05:55It is the fire. It is the fuel.
- 1:05:58I don't mean fodder and like a disrespectful way but it is the
- 1:06:01fuel for a lot of these. So it's so part 2 you decide?
- 1:06:09Let me know down in the comments what you thought of this podcast
- 1:06:12and if you would like to hear the rest of it all because there
