- 0:08SPEAKER_03: I hate this.
- 0:09SPEAKER_03: I hate everything.
- 0:12SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry, buddy.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: Hollywood cool.
- 0:30SPEAKER_03: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Mike Blitz.
- 0:32SPEAKER_03: I'm your host, Mike Wade, co-host over there, Mike White, looking dapper today in nice little flannel, embracing the season.
- 0:38SPEAKER_03: What's up, brother?
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: How's it going, man?
- 0:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it is flannel season.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, this is this is uh this is kind of my uniform.
- 0:45SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 0:46SPEAKER_03: Good stuff, good stuff.
- 0:48SPEAKER_03: Uh been a while since I saw you last.
- 0:50SPEAKER_03: It was about a week ago.
- 0:51SPEAKER_03: What's new in your world?
- 0:52SPEAKER_03: Did you have a birthday party or something?
- 0:53SPEAKER_01: What's uh what's what's crack a lacking?
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we had a bunch of um three and four-year-olds running around the the premises.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: I I grilled about 40 glizzies.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: A glizzy?
- 1:07SPEAKER_02: What's a glizzy?
- 1:08SPEAKER_02: Uh you don't know what the kids are calling.
- 1:10SPEAKER_02: I have no idea what you're talking about right now.
- 1:12SPEAKER_02: You're not a little bit of a glizzy gobbler.
- 1:14SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 1:14SPEAKER_02: What is that?
- 1:14SPEAKER_02: What's a glizzy?
- 1:15SPEAKER_02: I want a glizzy.
- 1:16SPEAKER_02: It's just a hot dog.
- 1:17SPEAKER_02: Oh, nice.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: I like that.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: I wish I had a cool day for them.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: That was a good one.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I wrapped up uh grilled hot dog, just a bunch of hot dogs, wrapped them up individually and just set them out.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: It's really easy way to feed a lot of people.
- 1:27SPEAKER_03: Bang! Perfect.
- 1:28SPEAKER_03: That's awesome.
- 1:29SPEAKER_03: Uh happy birthday to Little Man.
- 1:31SPEAKER_03: Hope he had a big old, big old time that that rules.
- 1:33SPEAKER_03: Um, I spent my weekend at um my daughter's soccer tournament, four games.
- 1:37SPEAKER_03: She lost in the championship, two to one, um, which is a major bummer.
- 1:41SPEAKER_03: It was weird.
- 1:42SPEAKER_03: All weekend I was kind of like behaving.
- 1:43SPEAKER_03: I like went to bed early Friday.
- 1:45SPEAKER_03: I got all my chores done.
- 1:46SPEAKER_03: Like, it felt like I was preparing for the LSU Alabama game, which is for me the last 20 years of being actually 20 ever since I started watching LSU, like even before Nick Saban showed up at LSU or Obama, like the Alabama game always felt like the biggest game of the year.
- 2:00SPEAKER_03: So I always like took it more seriously.
- 2:02SPEAKER_03: And I was prepping all weekend as if I was gonna play.
- 2:04SPEAKER_03: You know, I had all my chores done, ready to go.
- 2:07SPEAKER_03: It's like all gamed out, had my just die fully dialed in, and then obviously that happened, which we'll talk about, but you know, um, I don't know, real punch in the punch in the gut.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: Part of the excitement of these big games is definitely the buildup.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: Like, I feel like if I don't get to dedicate like a certain amount of my my day into like that enthusiastic, like free game like swell of emotion, then I'm getting robbed.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: Like if I'm running chores and I'm not like able to sit down and focus on like getting myself hyped up, I feel like I'm missing out on some of the experience.
- 2:40SPEAKER_03: Not only are you are you being robbed experience, you're not doing your part, you're not contributing to evolve victory, Mike.
- 2:46SPEAKER_03: You're not pulling your weight.
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: And I think part of it just goes back to like, you know, being a student, being like knowing like you wake up, your whole day is dedicated to this game, you know, like you know, it starts early in the morning.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: You you're walking around, you're just yelling game day at people.
- 3:02SPEAKER_01: That's like you're just yelling game day, and everyone's like, Yes, I agree, game day.
- 3:07SPEAKER_02: Like it is game day.
- 3:09SPEAKER_03: Um, that's great.
- 3:10SPEAKER_03: That's awesome.
- 3:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I totally feel that.
- 3:12SPEAKER_03: And obviously, you got a monster one coming up this weekend, which we'll talk about.
- 3:15SPEAKER_03: Obviously, uh Tennessee goes to Athens play Georgia.
- 3:18SPEAKER_03: Uh, but we'll before we do that, let's go ahead and talk about some big picture stuff.
- 3:21SPEAKER_03: Um, really quick.
- 3:22SPEAKER_03: Uh, then there were four Oregon Army, Indiana, BYU are your four remaining undefeated teams.
- 3:26SPEAKER_03: Miami goes down uh to Georgia Tech, the Horns Nest that is Bobby Dodd.
- 3:31SPEAKER_03: Uh, how about it?
- 3:32SPEAKER_03: Uh Kent State, still your only winless team.
- 3:34SPEAKER_03: Fear not, Mike.
- 3:35SPEAKER_03: They've got a big opportunity hosting Akron two and seven at home week 13.
- 3:39SPEAKER_03: So hold out hope for the big one.
- 3:40SPEAKER_03: Hold out for Kent State.
- 3:43SPEAKER_03: We're gonna get a W.
- 3:44SPEAKER_03: Uh the Mike Blitz bet of the week uh went down.
- 3:47SPEAKER_03: I blame us for betting against Greg Ciano.
- 3:49SPEAKER_03: That was clearly where we went wrong.
- 3:52SPEAKER_03: Um, and the Mike Blitz bet of the week was we we should why would we ever bet against the goat in those situations?
- 3:57SPEAKER_03: Of course, we're gonna lose weeks on weeks like that.
- 3:59SPEAKER_03: How did we do outside of that?
- 4:01SPEAKER_03: We we actually we did okay.
- 4:02SPEAKER_03: We went five and three.
- 4:03SPEAKER_03: We went five and three.
- 4:04SPEAKER_03: So we so overall, in fact, I'm actually so glad you said that.
- 4:09SPEAKER_03: So I went back and looked at the last four weeks.
- 4:11SPEAKER_03: Was I mean four weeks ago was the second one that we hit.
- 4:14SPEAKER_03: Every single one of those weeks, if you actually bet ten dollars on each of the picks, you would have made money betting all of our picks.
- 4:22SPEAKER_03: We went five and three this week, four and three the week before, five and four the week before that.
- 4:26SPEAKER_03: We did that nine legger.
- 4:27SPEAKER_03: So we've been the last three weeks, we've been over 500 every single time.
- 4:32SPEAKER_03: So, you know, we're not way off.
- 4:34SPEAKER_01: I feel like you know, no, it's just we we like to put all our eggs in a single basket and just make thousands of dollars on a ten dollar bet.
- 4:42SPEAKER_03: No, we're here for a good time, not a long time.
- 4:44SPEAKER_03: So we're straight up jumping in absolutely I'm not as young as I once was.
- 4:49SPEAKER_01: No, no, as good as once as I ever was.
- 4:51SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 4:52SPEAKER_03: So if the if the mic list better of the week is not something for you, you could just use those seven picks that you know Mike and I mind mailed over and just play those as those.
- 5:01SPEAKER_03: And you can think Greg Ciano takes.
- 5:02SPEAKER_03: Mine is any Greg Ciano takes.
- 5:04SPEAKER_03: We'll never fade Greg Sciano ever again, except maybe this coming week.
- 5:07SPEAKER_03: Oh well.
- 5:08SPEAKER_03: Anyway, um, so new playoff rankings came out and they kind of look more or less the same.
- 5:12SPEAKER_03: Obviously, there were some big rises of fallers.
- 5:14SPEAKER_03: Miami dropped way down, Georgia WAP dropped way down, LSU pretty much into the way site.
- 5:19SPEAKER_03: Um, some kind some teams kind of backfilled.
- 5:21SPEAKER_03: Uh Oregon, Ohio State, Texas, Penn State, Indiana, BYU, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Miami.
- 5:25SPEAKER_03: Oh, I'm old Miss Georgia, boise y'all stop there.
- 5:28SPEAKER_03: So it's kind of where we're talking about.
- 5:30SPEAKER_03: Um, any let's not super analyze it, but give me your top line big takeaways.
- 5:35SPEAKER_03: What do you see?
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: Um, so I think there are a couple things that are major takeaways for me.
- 5:41SPEAKER_01: Um, they're not valuing strength of schedule as of right now.
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: That could change.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: Uh, you've got a bunch of Big Ten teams uh loaded there at the top.
- 5:50SPEAKER_01: Um Penn State and Indiana certainly jump out at me, uh, even though Indiana is undefeated.
- 5:56SPEAKER_01: But um, you know, that Penn State team who hasn't played anybody and lost the only team they've played is is looming right there within situation to just to moonwalk into the playoff.
- 6:08SPEAKER_01: The other thing that jumped out to me, and this is kind of a flu under the radar, I think, for a lot of people, is because it's it in some ways it's a little inconsequential.
- 6:17SPEAKER_01: They put South Carolina ahead of LSU.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 6:27SPEAKER_01: Tell me about that.
- 6:28SPEAKER_01: What are your take what do you think about that?
- 6:30SPEAKER_03: Well, South Carolina, no, I don't think anybody in the country is playing better football than South Carolina right now.
- 6:34SPEAKER_03: I mean, I think you could reasonably make the case that they are they are soundly pounding everyone.
- 6:38SPEAKER_03: What they did to AM was very impressive this past week against Vandy.
- 6:41SPEAKER_03: I mean, they're haunted by their three losses.
- 6:44SPEAKER_03: So I think they're getting some love for what they did recently, maybe laying some small groundwork in case there's like absolute, absolute, absolute pandemonium.
- 6:53SPEAKER_03: But like, I don't, you know, I don't do a lot.
- 6:55SPEAKER_03: I don't do a lot with that.
- 6:56SPEAKER_03: South Carolina's got three losses that are all in conferences that I that I think of LSU, Alabama, and well miss.
- 7:03SPEAKER_03: So they're not a three loss SC team's not getting to Atlanta.
- 7:06SPEAKER_01: Well, and here's why I bring it up though, is that LSU's got the head to head and is also a three-loss team.
- 7:11SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 7:12SPEAKER_01: So they're telling me head to head, maybe not so not so important.
- 7:17SPEAKER_03: Maybe not so important.
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: And that's important.
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: And that and the reason I take away that because I'm staring right down the barrel of a potential 10 and two Alabama and a potential 10-2 Tennessee, and thinking, hmm, head to head, right?
- 7:27SPEAKER_01: Maybe not.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: So that's where my mind goes.
- 7:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 7:30SPEAKER_03: Those and that's all that's overall reasonable takes.
- 7:32SPEAKER_03: My only takeaway kind of has to do with Tennessee as well.
- 7:34SPEAKER_03: Is I kind of think they got jobbed for similar reasons.
- 7:37SPEAKER_03: You mentioned Penn State, Indiana.
- 7:38SPEAKER_03: How about Texas?
- 7:39SPEAKER_03: Texas doesn't have a single win against anybody currently ranked.
- 7:43SPEAKER_03: And I'm kind of looking, I mean, Texas is Texas, big name, big brand.
- 7:46SPEAKER_03: We've seen them do some good things.
- 7:48SPEAKER_03: Um, you know, obviously uh they have, but they have not beaten anybody impressive by any means.
- 7:55SPEAKER_03: I don't even know what their best win is.
- 7:57SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna pull it up.
- 7:58SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna put their schedule right now.
- 8:00SPEAKER_03: Vandy.
- 8:00SPEAKER_03: It's Vandy.
- 8:02SPEAKER_03: Vandy, Oklahoma, I guess Florida was uh this past week.
- 8:06SPEAKER_03: Like they haven't done anything impressive.
- 8:08SPEAKER_03: And you know, obviously when Georgia showed up, that was that was Georgia hitting on all cylinders, not the Georgia we see every week, but they Georgia pushed them around with a lot of ease.
- 8:17SPEAKER_03: So my point is I kind of think Tennessee is getting jobbed a little bit here, which I don't love.
- 8:21SPEAKER_03: Um, but you know, uh Penn State, Indiana, and Texas BYU.
- 8:25SPEAKER_03: I understand they've got wins against K-State and SMU, which are both aging like fine wines, those are two quality wins.
- 8:32SPEAKER_03: I think SMU is the best team in the ACC.
- 8:34SPEAKER_03: I think K-State's the most talented team in the Big 12, even though they're not gonna win the conference.
- 8:38SPEAKER_03: So BYU, I'm I'm coming around on coming around on BYU.
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: I also, again, I'm gonna keep saying this, uh, and it's not gonna change anything, but Notre Dame's loss to northern Illinois.
- 8:49SPEAKER_01: No, it didn't matter.
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: A 500 Mac team.
- 8:52SPEAKER_01: Like, what are we doing here?
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: That like, are we just gonna say that like nothing in the early season matters?
- 8:59SPEAKER_01: Like, it only matters like what happens right now because this is just crazy.
- 9:04SPEAKER_03: First of all, don't you dare brush Mirch to Northern Illinois Mighty Huskies.
- 9:07SPEAKER_03: Are Huskies think it's play are?
- 9:08SPEAKER_03: Um, no, I think it's I'm not sure they are anyway.
- 9:11SPEAKER_03: Um, no, you're right.
- 9:12SPEAKER_03: It doesn't really carry the weight that it should.
- 9:14SPEAKER_03: They're gonna go 11 and 1, and honestly, their schedule lost a ton of muster when Florida State fell apart, USC fell apart.
- 9:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah, um, you know, they're gonna they they got UVA this weekend.
- 9:26SPEAKER_03: I'm not I'm gonna like go.
- 9:27SPEAKER_03: I'm out of the what what's what's what's what's buoying them is their very now very impressive uh 10-point win at Texas AM week one.
- 9:34SPEAKER_01: But here's the thing if you're not gonna hold, so we all know that these teams are drastically different early season, mid-season, late season.
- 9:41SPEAKER_01: They change, they get better, they get worse, they have injuries.
- 9:44SPEAKER_01: So if you're not gonna hold these these early season losses against them, why should that big win in the first week of the season?
- 9:50SPEAKER_01: Texas AM is a very different team than they were.
- 9:53SPEAKER_03: Can't have it both ways.
- 9:54SPEAKER_03: That's a good point, too.
- 9:54SPEAKER_03: I also think I also think their impressive win against Louisville.
- 9:56SPEAKER_03: Louisville's a three-loss team, but I I mean we saw you and I both saw what Louisville did to Clemson last week.
- 10:01SPEAKER_03: I think Louisville's pretty good.
- 10:02SPEAKER_03: So I, you know, yeah, Louisville's good.
- 10:05SPEAKER_03: I don't think it's, you know, in a four-team playoff, losing to a max school is a disqualifier.
- 10:11SPEAKER_03: And they wouldn't be in the top four this year.
- 10:13SPEAKER_03: They could run the table, go 11 and one.
- 10:14SPEAKER_03: They would be sitting at the final BCS, whatever we called it last year, playoff ranking, at seven or six.
- 10:20SPEAKER_03: Like they would not, by any means, uh be in the top four.
- 10:24SPEAKER_03: So this is this is a great example of just, you know, this is 12-team era.
- 10:29SPEAKER_03: You're not eliminated, even if you lose to a Mac school in week two.
- 10:31SPEAKER_03: Um, if you take care of business rest of the way, and you're a school like Notre Dame with more eyeballs than the Dallas Cowboys, like, you know, you're gonna get some leeway.
- 10:39SPEAKER_01: Um they lose to Southern Cal late, and none of it matters.
- 10:43SPEAKER_03: If they lose to Southern Cal late, they're out for sure.
- 10:45SPEAKER_03: Southern Cal is a bad team and LSU's lost.
- 10:48SPEAKER_01: But they're still talented and it's at Southern Cal.
- 10:50SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 10:51SPEAKER_03: And Southern Cal is trying to try to shake them.
- 10:53SPEAKER_03: They're fighting for their life over there, so we'll see.
- 10:54SPEAKER_03: Um, I also think we're on a collision course for a I think the debate.
- 10:59SPEAKER_03: So I think we can pretty much boil down a lot of the conferences.
- 11:03SPEAKER_03: ACC is gonna be SMU, Clemson, or Miami, probably SMU or Miami.
- 11:07SPEAKER_03: Big 12 is gonna be BYU, Colorado, or K State.
- 11:10SPEAKER_03: Big 10 is gonna be Oregon or Ohio State.
- 11:12SPEAKER_03: SEC is still wide open, but like we're kind of getting down to nitty-gritty here.
- 11:16SPEAKER_03: Oregon, Ohio State, Penn State, Indiana.
- 11:18SPEAKER_03: I then I'll talk about winning the conference.
- 11:20SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
- 11:21SPEAKER_03: Winning the conference, but yes, the playoffs.
- 11:22SPEAKER_03: I think Penn State's in as well.
- 11:24SPEAKER_03: Indiana, I think, is gonna get the absolute breaks beaten off of them by Ohio State next weekend.
- 11:29SPEAKER_03: And we're gonna what's gonna happen is we're gonna be looking at an 11-1 Indiana as the fourth Big Ten team versus a number four or number five potential SEC team.
- 11:38SPEAKER_03: Like, is I I mean, is it is it gonna get weird when we're having an 11-1 Indiana versus a 10-2 Ole Miss?
- 11:45SPEAKER_01: Like, for my money, Ole Miss should have spread if you see that.
- 11:49SPEAKER_01: If if that's I mean, is that like a 12-point spread?
- 11:52SPEAKER_03: No, I would guess below single digits, but high single digits.
- 11:55SPEAKER_03: I mean, I think it's eight, nine, you know.
- 11:56SPEAKER_03: Alabama is gonna be in that same conversation.
- 11:58SPEAKER_03: SEC is gonna get four.
- 12:00SPEAKER_03: And I think conventional wisdom is probably Texas, Georgia, Alabama, and then there's a conversation right there about Ole Miss and Tennessee, kind of in that three.
- 12:10SPEAKER_03: And you might be right.
- 12:11SPEAKER_03: One of your preseason predictions was they're gonna get five teams.
- 12:13SPEAKER_03: And if, and by again, things hold, it's probably gonna be those five, but that means knocking off an 11-1 Indiana, realistically.
- 12:20SPEAKER_03: And like, I just don't that's that's gonna be the question is two spots for three teams or three spots for four.
- 12:27SPEAKER_02: Go ahead.
- 12:28SPEAKER_01: I'm starting to come around to the idea that we're gonna have a bit of a log jam for the SEC, and the opposite of SEC bias comes in and they say we just can't put that many SEC teams in.
- 12:38SPEAKER_01: Like someone's gotta get shafted.
- 12:40SPEAKER_03: Someone's gonna get shafted.
- 12:41SPEAKER_01: You're gonna have a very good Texas AM or Tennessee.
- 12:46SPEAKER_01: Um, you know it's not gonna be Bama.
- 12:47SPEAKER_01: No, it's gonna be not gonna be Texas or Georgia.
- 12:50SPEAKER_03: No, I think it's gonna be Ole Miss or Tennessee.
- 12:52SPEAKER_03: I hate to say it.
- 12:52SPEAKER_03: That's not true.
- 12:53SPEAKER_01: And Ole Miss has a very good resume.
- 12:54SPEAKER_01: So does if Tennessee doesn't win this weekend in Georgia, you're looking at a 10 and two Tennessee team.
- 13:01SPEAKER_03: Against that's exact, that's literally exactly what I think is gonna happen.
- 13:04SPEAKER_03: I think it's going to be a 10-2 because Alabama's got four ranked wins, even though you have the head-to-head, which is nice.
- 13:09SPEAKER_03: Alabama has four wins against teams that are currently ranked, which obviously is gonna, and they're Alabama.
- 13:14SPEAKER_03: We we know that we both know what that means.
- 13:16SPEAKER_03: Um, my fear is it's gonna come down to that is who gets in a 10 and two Ole Miss, 10-2 Tennessee, 11-1, uh Indiana fighting for two spots.
- 13:26SPEAKER_03: And we're that's gonna be that's gonna be the pressure point.
- 13:28SPEAKER_03: I think Boise is gonna get there.
- 13:30SPEAKER_03: Um, I think Notre Dame is in, like we're looking at pretty solid.
- 13:34SPEAKER_03: So anyway, we'll see.
- 13:36SPEAKER_03: Uh, anything else before the play about the playoff or conference championships?
- 13:39SPEAKER_03: I mean, so I mean, obviously, we've something we've done this a million times.
- 13:42SPEAKER_03: We've we've drawn out the outline, and then we've seen a week of chaos, and all of it is thrown to the wind.
- 13:47SPEAKER_03: So let's keep rooting for more chaos.
- 13:49SPEAKER_03: That's fine.
- 13:50SPEAKER_03: That's that's where that's that's where LSU fans are.
- 13:53SPEAKER_03: Uh so uh things didn't go well.
- 13:55SPEAKER_03: So uh for oh, Virginia got the got the pit one, uh pit win, and uh Virginia Tech uh lost to Clemson.
- 14:02SPEAKER_03: So UVA needs one more win.
- 14:03SPEAKER_03: They're gonna be dogs in all three.
- 14:05SPEAKER_03: Uh first question is do you think Virginia's gonna get one more?
- 14:07SPEAKER_03: It's SMU, Notre Dame, and then at Virginia Tech.
- 14:12SPEAKER_01: It's not likely.
- 14:13SPEAKER_01: No, anything can happen in that tech, you know, that that Commonwealth Cup rivalry.
- 14:18SPEAKER_01: I think that's fair enough to say.
- 14:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:20SPEAKER_01: Most rivalries are like that.
- 14:21SPEAKER_01: So um, yeah, that's their best shot.
- 14:24SPEAKER_01: And I guess it really also depends on um what tech does down the stretch and who's who's available for them.
- 14:30SPEAKER_01: They're battling injuries, um, and how how bought in are they?
- 14:33SPEAKER_01: They're the more talented team, they've looked much better, their ceilings higher, but um that's gonna be a weird one.
- 14:39SPEAKER_03: Virginia Tech's seeing it five and five, I believe.
- 14:41SPEAKER_03: And they've got one more game against Duke, which they're pretty likely to win.
- 14:44SPEAKER_03: So they're probably uh they're probably not in much danger of losing the postseason.
- 14:48SPEAKER_03: So blah, blah, blah.
- 14:49SPEAKER_03: What you're looking at is a UVA team that's gonna fit finish about where Vegas thought they were, which is like four and a half, five and a half wins, something like that.
- 14:56SPEAKER_03: And a Virginia Tech team that just frankly underwhelmed, other than this Clemson game, a lot of tough losses.
- 15:02SPEAKER_03: If you're the AD of UVA or tech, and let's assume that the season ends how you think it's gonna end, UVA five and seven, Virginia Tech six and six, something like that.
- 15:12SPEAKER_03: Are you making a move on either?
- 15:14SPEAKER_03: Are you holding out another year?
- 15:16SPEAKER_03: Give me why or why not?
- 15:18SPEAKER_01: I'm if I'm tech, I'm definitely not because I'm looking at this season, and how different would we be talking about Virginia Tech, even with their record being what it is, if if that Miami call goes a different way.
- 15:28SPEAKER_01: You've got a top five win, you know, against Miami sitting there, and then your other losses are you know, seven, uh six-point loss, um, you know, a 10-point loss to to Clemson, a three-point loss to Ruckers.
- 15:41SPEAKER_01: Like they're pretty close.
- 15:43SPEAKER_01: Like they're they've they've they've kind of been a little bit snake snake bitten this year, and so I've you know, I'm definitely keeping a close eye.
- 15:52SPEAKER_01: The seats getting warmer, you know, seeing what happens next year.
- 15:55SPEAKER_01: Sure.
- 15:55SPEAKER_01: Um, so that's my take on tech.
- 15:57SPEAKER_01: UVA, I still think they they get another year regardless, uh, to to to figure things out over there.
- 16:04SPEAKER_01: But um another another five and six win season next year would be my time to pull the trigger.
- 16:10SPEAKER_03: So you're for now, you're you're holding steady on both.
- 16:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 16:14SPEAKER_03: I think I agree with you for kind of the same reasons you said.
- 16:16SPEAKER_03: Um, I mean, the double overtime loss to Vanderbilt doesn't actually doesn't look that bad anymore.
- 16:21SPEAKER_03: Vanderbilt was pretty good.
- 16:22SPEAKER_03: They almost came back at Ruckers.
- 16:23SPEAKER_01: Um, and no one at that point, too, nobody knew what David Robbie was capable of.
- 16:27SPEAKER_01: Nobody knew what that offense was a complete wrench in this, yeah, you know, just unexpected.
- 16:32SPEAKER_03: Game film was not out yet.
- 16:33SPEAKER_03: So no, I totally agree with there.
- 16:34SPEAKER_03: Um, obviously the Syracuse collapse two weeks ago now looked really, really painful.
- 16:38SPEAKER_03: They were up by 17 points like in the fourth quarter, and they somehow lost that game on the road.
- 16:43SPEAKER_03: Like, it feels like bad variants for tech.
- 16:45SPEAKER_03: Like it feels like they're like literally two plays, three plays away from being an eight and two team right now, challenging for the ACC championship.
- 16:53SPEAKER_03: And they're said they're sitting at five and five fighting for bull eligibility because of just like bad bounces and stuff like that.
- 16:58SPEAKER_03: So I'm with you there.
- 17:00SPEAKER_03: UVA, I think they get another shot as well.
- 17:02SPEAKER_03: I do like what they Tony Elliott's done with the offense, and I think the defense has the team has gotten better from last year, it has trended up, hasn't always looked at in the wins-loss column, but the team has gotten better.
- 17:12SPEAKER_03: And obviously, given what happened with tragedy two years ago, you kind of gotta throw that kind of gotta throw that year away.
- 17:17SPEAKER_03: So if I'm a UVA fan or a hookie fan, I'm disappointed and upset about it.
- 17:22SPEAKER_03: And I think it's all reasonable and well and good, but I am in the camp.
- 17:25SPEAKER_03: I think you give both one more year and see kind of where the stuff settles, and then you're looking at 2026 making a move, potentially, assuming that you're yeah, no, and the winner of the rivalry game, that goes a long way too.
- 17:38SPEAKER_01: Settling right now.
- 17:40SPEAKER_03: One of these one of these teams is gonna get if UVA, especially UVA, if UVA wins that game to get to a bowl game.
- 17:46SPEAKER_03: I mean, Tony Elliott's gonna get a lot of heat off his back.
- 17:48SPEAKER_03: So um, but Virginia Techs, and then vice versa, Virginia Techs is gonna get a lot more uncomfortable um in that coach's seat.
- 17:54SPEAKER_03: All right, moving on from the Virginia Schools.
- 17:56SPEAKER_03: Um, Oki State.
- 17:57SPEAKER_03: So we talk about Florida State as like the most collapse of all collapses of all collapse.
- 18:01SPEAKER_03: They fired their OC in DC.
- 18:03SPEAKER_03: It's not gonna matter, they're an awful team.
- 18:05SPEAKER_03: The season can't end soon enough for them.
- 18:07SPEAKER_03: They'll get one more win against like Sanford this week and they're gonna get beat by Florida.
- 18:11SPEAKER_03: Um, it's it's been disaster.
- 18:13SPEAKER_03: But the underrated disaster that no one's really talking about is Oklahoma State.
- 18:17SPEAKER_03: Oklahoma State, who I think I picked to win the Big 12, or I think you may have been high on the preseason.
- 18:21SPEAKER_03: I'm I'm afraid to go back and listen to our preseason picks now because they're all gonna be so bad.
- 18:26SPEAKER_03: They're on a season's been chaos.
- 18:29SPEAKER_03: So it's absolutely wild.
- 18:30SPEAKER_03: Chaos.
- 18:31SPEAKER_03: They're on a seven-game loot streak.
- 18:33SPEAKER_03: Their last two games are versus Texas Tech and at Colorado.
- 18:36SPEAKER_03: There'll be dogs in both.
- 18:38SPEAKER_03: They're gonna go 0-9 in Big 12 play, which is just an incredible collapse in its own right.
- 18:45SPEAKER_03: The Big 12 now, without Texas and Oklahoma, I think the the narrative around them the preseason was the the big dogs are gone.
- 18:53SPEAKER_03: Oklahoma State's been a solid team.
- 18:54SPEAKER_03: Mike Gundy's here forever.
- 18:56SPEAKER_03: They can really feast, and it's just been loss after loss after loss.
- 19:00SPEAKER_03: This is a classic example of Florida's worst collapse of college football, Oklahoma State saying, hold my beer, watch this.
- 19:06SPEAKER_03: And it's been just a catastrophe.
- 19:08SPEAKER_03: Any Oklahoma Ollie Gordon, Mike Gundy points to add?
- 19:13SPEAKER_01: I don't, yeah, I haven't watched like enough, you know, to tell you, you know, in the trenches, this is the issue, this this personnel is the problem.
- 19:21SPEAKER_01: Um, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.
- 19:23SPEAKER_01: You know, they're in the bottom of the conference in offense, they're in the bottom of the conference in defense, they can't run the ball, even though they had literally the best returning back in the country coming back in Ally Gordon.
- 19:34SPEAKER_01: I don't, I don't, I, I I really don't understand it.
- 19:37SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, it's just one of those things.
- 19:39SPEAKER_01: I think you know, you saw it with FSU, you see it here.
- 19:43SPEAKER_01: I don't know how much the portal uh affected them.
- 19:45SPEAKER_01: Um sometimes, you know, you lose those second stringers, uh, and then you know the first stringer goes down, and all of a sudden that drop-off between the first string to the third string is huge because the depth just isn't there.
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: So maybe that's part of the issue.
- 19:59SPEAKER_01: Maybe they've had some injuries I'm unaware of.
- 20:01SPEAKER_01: But um, yeah, I think as we move forward with with the transfer era, you'll see a whole lot more swings of really good teams to really bad teams.
- 20:10SPEAKER_01: There's just gonna be a whole lot more um variables.
- 20:13SPEAKER_01: So um I don't know what the lesson learned is.
- 20:17SPEAKER_03: Well, I'm gonna say to your credit, uh, or to be fair, um, nobody should be watching Oklahoma State football because it's been so bad.
- 20:22SPEAKER_03: So I'm I also have not been watching much, but I just can't help but think what look at Gundy, look at Ollie Gordon, and look at those guys and just you know what happened.
- 20:29SPEAKER_03: So they're another team of just monumental, unprecedented level.
- 20:33SPEAKER_03: If it wasn't for Florida State, we'd be talking about Oklahoma State as the team that's having this unbelievable, uncharacteristic, total collapse, which we've not seen in college football.
- 20:43SPEAKER_03: Yeah, from a from a team, a program that Mike Gundy has stabilized, potentially wins a lot of games, usually.
- 20:49SPEAKER_01: So anyway, yeah, they've been standard, you know, standard nine, ten wins a year.
- 20:53SPEAKER_03: Punch winners, yeah.
- 20:54SPEAKER_03: You can bank on it, and obviously, this is not um very cool.
- 20:57SPEAKER_03: All right, I think we're ready over with the big picture.
- 20:59SPEAKER_03: Do you want to jump into the autopsy?
- 21:00SPEAKER_03: Let's look at let's look at uh next week.
- 21:03SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 21:03SPEAKER_03: All right, let's do it.
- 21:10SPEAKER_03: All right, let's start at the top with uh week 11.
- 21:13SPEAKER_03: So Miami, we can finally stop pretending, is a national championship contending team.
- 21:18SPEAKER_03: Uh, get absolutely smacked by Georgia Tech.
- 21:20SPEAKER_03: My only take on this game is just that Cam Rising is electric.
- 21:23SPEAKER_03: He is probably one of two NFL first-round quarterbacks this year, him and Shadur.
- 21:28SPEAKER_03: Um, but he makes a lot of bad plays.
- 21:31SPEAKER_03: He holds the ball way too long.
- 21:33SPEAKER_03: He tries to out athlete everybody.
- 21:36SPEAKER_03: Um, like he's just he needs he needs better coaching, I feel like, to unl to really unlock his elite talent as quarterback.
- 21:44SPEAKER_03: That's kind of where my takeaway from that game.
- 21:47SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah, we've seen it with him, but I think some of it is a product of when you know that the defense you're not getting complimentary football, you feel like you have to be Superman and you probably reach for.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: Plays that aren't there because you know that's what you've had to do in the past for your team to win, and you know your team's relying on you to make those plays consistently, and um, even the best players don't make those types of plays consistently.
- 22:12SPEAKER_01: You play outside yourself, you play outside the system.
- 22:14SPEAKER_01: Uh, but they've thrived on that.
- 22:16SPEAKER_01: Uh, but they've played with fire week after week after week.
- 22:19SPEAKER_01: Finally bit them.
- 22:21SPEAKER_03: If they lose to SMU in the ACC championship at Charlotte, do you have Miami sitting on the outside at 11 and 2?
- 22:26SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 22:27SPEAKER_04: Me too.
- 22:27SPEAKER_04: Me too.
- 22:28SPEAKER_04: I do.
- 22:28SPEAKER_03: Me too.
- 22:29SPEAKER_03: I hope you're right.
- 22:29SPEAKER_03: They shouldn't.
- 22:30SPEAKER_03: I don't, I mean, honestly, I don't really forgive them for the Hail Mary thing, Regina attack.
- 22:34SPEAKER_03: I don't really forgive them for escaping Duke and Cal.
- 22:37SPEAKER_03: Like I think they're a very, very flawed team.
- 22:39SPEAKER_03: And I think the committee does not look at them in the vacuum.
- 22:41SPEAKER_03: I don't think they're gonna say, oh, wins and losses.
- 22:44SPEAKER_03: 11 and 2 is a good record, and you win, you win the game.
- 22:46SPEAKER_03: But given how bad they've looked doing against bad teams, ACC is not very good this year.
- 22:51SPEAKER_03: I hope they punish them accordingly.
- 22:53SPEAKER_03: Um, Penn State is the epitome of a second-tier team in the Big Ten.
- 22:58SPEAKER_03: After that uh painful loss to Ohio State, which all of us should have seen coming from a mile away, they absolutely murdered UW.
- 23:05SPEAKER_03: They are going to host a playoff game.
- 23:07SPEAKER_03: It is going to be a whiteout and it is going to be awesome.
- 23:10SPEAKER_03: And I hope they win because that would be really cool for Penn State.
- 23:13SPEAKER_03: But like this is this Penn State story, this Penn State joke narrative of not good enough to do this, but always better than everybody else, is written in stone every season.
- 23:23SPEAKER_03: I swear to God.
- 23:23SPEAKER_03: Like they're just they're never gonna beat them, and they're always gonna beat them.
- 23:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I just think if you you have to look at you know the Big Ten not quite holding up its bargain when it comes to the parody that you see in the SEC.
- 23:37SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, just top heaviness?
- 23:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean, if Minnesota uh or Wisconsin or you know, some of these other teams, yeah, some of these other teams had been what we thought that or hoped that they could be, um, it would be very different.
- 23:52SPEAKER_01: But it's very top heavy and it's it's hurting the conference, it's hurting the teams at the top because it's not giving them that resume.
- 23:58SPEAKER_01: Although it's not hurting them right now because it doesn't seem like the playoff committee is valuing uh the resume, but anyway.
- 24:05SPEAKER_03: No, and honestly, they don't really have a losable game the rest of the way.
- 24:08SPEAKER_03: No disrespect to Purdue.
- 24:10SPEAKER_03: Well, maybe, maybe at Minnesota could be a little tricky.
- 24:13SPEAKER_03: At Purdue this week, no problem.
- 24:15SPEAKER_03: First Maryland at home.
- 24:16SPEAKER_03: I don't see it.
- 24:16SPEAKER_03: So they've got one more.
- 24:18SPEAKER_03: Minnesota is solid.
- 24:19SPEAKER_03: They're not great, but they're solid.
- 24:20SPEAKER_03: So that could be it.
- 24:21SPEAKER_03: But I'm fully in my mind, I've got 11 and one Penn State moving into the playoffs uh accordingly.
- 24:27SPEAKER_03: Uh Colorado, slow start, uh, but got the win and is now in total control of their own destiny.
- 24:34SPEAKER_03: Three weeks ago on the pod, I told everybody Colorado is going to win the Big 12, and they are now the Vegas favorites to win the Big 12 at plus 135.
- 24:44SPEAKER_03: I but it, your boy butt bet it at plus 800 on the Discord.
- 24:47SPEAKER_03: If you were there, hopefully you tailed.
- 24:49SPEAKER_03: Um, for me, the quite Colorado is I for high-end talent, they're the best team in the Big 12 by far.
- 24:55SPEAKER_03: The question for me is can they avoid dropping a dumb one?
- 25:00SPEAKER_03: Like, you know, like can given the Big 12 has been such a volatile conference, anybody on any given week, which is you know good for entertainment standpoint, um, versus Utah at Kansas versus Oklahoma State, you know, like can they just show up for three weeks and get themselves to I think Dallas?
- 25:15SPEAKER_03: Is that where the that were the big 12 big Big 12 championship is?
- 25:18SPEAKER_01: I think so.
- 25:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think that's a good question.
- 25:20SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah, when you look at their schedule, Utah could be tricky.
- 25:24SPEAKER_01: Oklahoma State is not gonna be tricky, but Kansas, again, you know, Kansas has shown some life.
- 25:28SPEAKER_01: Their offense looks like it woke back up.
- 25:30SPEAKER_03: I like Kansas.
- 25:31SPEAKER_03: I like Kansas.
- 25:32SPEAKER_03: We're gonna talk about them in the video of picks this week.
- 25:34SPEAKER_01: Let me ask you this what's the difference between Colorado and Miami?
- 26:19SPEAKER_03: Um, Miami has probably more raw talent from just like pound for pounding the blue chip ratio we talked about, but and but I mean I mean uh Colorado's better coached, honestly.
- 26:31SPEAKER_03: Um, I think they're I mean, I think it's what I'm I'm just I'm so bearish on Mario Crystal Ball.
- 26:37SPEAKER_03: I just I cannot get behind his just endless gaps.
- 26:40SPEAKER_03: I don't think, and honestly, how bad their defense is is inexcusable.
- 26:44SPEAKER_03: Colorado, I get Colorado's team full of transfers, they've got a couple of well, and they're they're a little bit more of a rebuild.
- 26:50SPEAKER_03: They're a little bit more rebuild.
- 26:51SPEAKER_03: I mean, they have two NFL defensive ends, which have been a big, big difference for them in their defense.
- 26:55SPEAKER_03: You know, those those two DNs are both going to get drafted, so they've got some guys in spots, but Miami is littered with players that will are next level NFL players, and their defense is inexcusably bad and an inexcusably bad power for a conference.
- 27:09SPEAKER_03: So, and now you've got and you've got Cam Ward making these brilliant, showstopping, highlight reel SC top 10 plays, all these total boneheaded things.
- 27:18SPEAKER_03: Like, I don't think Miami's well coached at all.
- 27:21SPEAKER_03: So I think there's a big the difference between those two teams for me is Miami's got more talent, but Colorado's got better coaching.
- 27:27SPEAKER_03: So that's kind of where you think as a staff, you know.
- 27:30SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 27:31SPEAKER_03: I would take Colorado's staff over Miami's staff.
- 27:33SPEAKER_03: I don't think it's I don't think that's controversial at this point, given where you've seen both teams do at this point.
- 27:37SPEAKER_01: No, I just think you know, you look at Deion Sanders' track record as a pure head football coach is still what a couple dozen games.
- 27:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 27:46SPEAKER_03: Jackson State's not exactly the the biggest program in the country.
- 27:50SPEAKER_03: No, that's fair.
- 27:50SPEAKER_03: And obviously last week they finished four and eight.
- 27:52SPEAKER_03: Um, I'm just really impressed with we we talked about it earlier in the podcast.
- 27:56SPEAKER_03: Teams are allowed to get better.
- 27:58SPEAKER_03: And yeah, like, you know, that's funny.
- 28:01SPEAKER_03: Looking back at Colorado's loss to Nebraska, that 28-10, which they really didn't never had a chance in.
- 28:05SPEAKER_03: Like, that game looks like an aberration now.
- 28:07SPEAKER_03: Like, they're running the ball really well.
- 28:10SPEAKER_03: They are playing defense better than Colorado's ever played defense under um uh Dion.
- 28:16SPEAKER_03: Shadur Sanders is still taking too many hits, pass protection is still super super suspect, but like again, they're doing the boring things that you're supposed to do to win.
- 28:24SPEAKER_03: So, like, I look at that, I look at a team like Colorado that's getting better, and I look at Miami playing with their food every single week with a top what?
- 28:33SPEAKER_03: I mean, how many how here's a question for you, Mike?
- 28:35SPEAKER_03: How many college football teams have a higher blue chip ratio than Miami?
- 28:40SPEAKER_03: Five, six, ten at most.
- 28:44SPEAKER_01: Yes, yeah.
- 28:46SPEAKER_01: I mean, they're up there, they're way up there.
- 28:48SPEAKER_03: So I I I I give collar log pet for doing doing more uh with less.
- 28:52SPEAKER_03: And none of the favorites, so let's go.
- 28:54SPEAKER_03: Uh Utah absolutely robbed uh versus BYU.
- 28:58SPEAKER_03: Did you watch this game?
- 28:58SPEAKER_03: Do you see that?
- 28:59SPEAKER_03: Do you see the uh post-game highlights?
- 29:00SPEAKER_01: I saw yeah, I saw the recap, and I saw the the Utah uh athletic directors post-game, which he got fined like several hundred thousand dollars for fourth and ten play.
- 29:11SPEAKER_03: Um uh Utah was on defense, they stopped BYU.
- 29:15SPEAKER_03: Um, it was pretty much um the game would have been over.
- 29:17SPEAKER_03: Utah would have retained the possession on the one-yard line, would have punched it in, minute and a half left.
- 29:21SPEAKER_03: Game would have been over.
- 29:22SPEAKER_03: A game saving, extending, holding call, which I thought was one of the most suspect calls I've seen this year.
- 29:29SPEAKER_03: I'm in the I've a lot of people on Twitter have said, you know, by the letter of the law, that's the call, but I've seen that not get called thousands of times.
- 29:37SPEAKER_03: So if I'm a Utah fan, I'm livid.
- 29:39SPEAKER_03: I don't even blame the AD for going off.
- 29:40SPEAKER_03: I mean, he's gonna lose some money for that.
- 29:42SPEAKER_03: And it's not a good look for the leader of your athlete department of your school, but um man, I think it's a good look.
- 29:50SPEAKER_01: I like it.
- 29:50SPEAKER_01: Tell me why.
- 29:52SPEAKER_01: Well, he's got the money first and foremost.
- 29:54SPEAKER_01: So you can afford the fine.
- 29:56SPEAKER_01: He it's his money.
- 29:57SPEAKER_01: If you know, if I want to give my money away to the conference, that's you know, so be it.
- 30:01SPEAKER_01: Um, I think as a fan and as a player and as a coach, um, you like your boss, essentially, uh your boss who's running the program standing up for you and and and going to bat for you.
- 30:12SPEAKER_01: And um, you know, all we're doing is is we're inching towards a world where we're holding um these officials more accountable because right now there's zero accountability, and we see these game-changing, terrible calls every week, and the sport is too high profile for this clown show of an officiating to take hold and change outcomes of games like that.
- 30:35SPEAKER_01: So um, yeah, the more people who in charge who actually step up and say something, the better.
- 30:40SPEAKER_03: No, I think it's a reasonable take, and I and I can certainly I certainly agree with that.
- 30:43SPEAKER_03: This is the fourth week, and this is the fourth week in a row where fans have thrown stuff on the field.
- 30:48SPEAKER_03: This fourth this past week was the LSU Alabama game, and and what was a questionable call wasn't the bad, bad call, like the Texas call, the Texas Georgia one.
- 30:56SPEAKER_03: I mean, honestly, I blame this on Texas fans.
- 30:58SPEAKER_03: They set a precedent or or the or the referees in that game who overturned the call, and now they have set this fan precedent where it's like, oh, we can just do horrible things and we'll get away with calls.
- 31:08SPEAKER_03: It's the fourth week in a row.
- 31:09SPEAKER_03: So the officiating has not been uh universalized, like for lack of a better word.
- 31:13SPEAKER_03: Like it's not been across all of Power 4 football, which it needs to be.
- 31:16SPEAKER_03: I mean, I think we're on our way to a governing body, and this is another symptom of that is this weird officiating stuff that's in.
- 31:21SPEAKER_01: Does college football have a problem with fans throwing things on the field?
- 31:25SPEAKER_01: Is this like a uh an emerging trend that's uh uh like a besmirching the the proud four weeks in a row is I don't think so, but four weeks in a row is not good.
- 31:35SPEAKER_03: It's it's not good.
- 31:36SPEAKER_03: Like we it needs to end, it needs to end pronto.
- 31:39SPEAKER_03: So I'm gonna hold reserved judgment on that.
- 31:41SPEAKER_03: I understand frustrated fans, but that's it's gotta end.
- 31:44SPEAKER_03: It's really not a good look, in my opinion.
- 31:46SPEAKER_03: Uh, Indiana, fool's goal, one 20 to 15.
- 31:49SPEAKER_03: I want to be, I hate to be a Debbie Downer on one of everyone's favorite stories of college football because Indiana's been really great.
- 31:54SPEAKER_03: Kirk Signetti, JMU West, all those guys, Chase Sarat coming from Harrisonburg, they've been awesome.
- 32:00SPEAKER_03: They're 10 and 0.
- 32:01SPEAKER_03: Michigan is a deeply flawed team.
- 32:04SPEAKER_03: They're gonna go six and sixes.
- 32:05SPEAKER_03: They're gonna beat Northwestern this week to go and then lose to Ohio State to go six and six.
- 32:09SPEAKER_03: Not good by Michigan Standards by a mile.
- 32:11SPEAKER_03: That was by far, pound for pound, the most talented team they face, Indiana.
- 32:15SPEAKER_03: And in terms of four stars and five stars, and just athletes, just good, high-quality athletes, that Michigan was by far the best team, and they barely won.
- 32:23SPEAKER_03: They had a chance to lose.
- 32:24SPEAKER_03: Michigan offense was even respectable in the fourth quarter to last.
- 32:27SPEAKER_03: They had a chance with the ball, down five with two minutes left, all their timeouts to go win.
- 32:32SPEAKER_03: Couldn't get it done.
- 32:33SPEAKER_03: Indiana is going to get blasted by Ohio State.
- 32:36SPEAKER_03: It's going to be a humongous number.
- 32:39SPEAKER_01: And this we have really spread on that?
- 32:40SPEAKER_01: Let me see.
- 32:41SPEAKER_03: I'll see if I can look at it.
- 32:42SPEAKER_03: Two weeks.
- 32:42SPEAKER_01: It's it's not this week, next week, right?
- 32:44SPEAKER_03: I'll see if I can.
- 32:44SPEAKER_03: Uh, let me check my Indiana, Ohio State.
- 32:47SPEAKER_01: What's what's your guess while you're while you're checking?
- 32:50SPEAKER_03: Um, I don't see a spread yet, but my guess, 14, um, is is my kind of ballpark.
- 32:59SPEAKER_03: Ohio State has even better athletes than Michigan.
- 33:01SPEAKER_03: One.
- 33:02SPEAKER_03: And they're well coached, and they have a functional offense and defense.
- 33:05SPEAKER_03: They are going they have an identity on what they're saying.
- 33:07SPEAKER_03: They have identity on both sides of the ball.
- 33:08SPEAKER_03: They are going to annihilate Indiana.
- 33:11SPEAKER_03: And then we're going to have the conversation.
- 33:13SPEAKER_03: I was talking to you about when we were doing the kind of general whip around a 10 and two, Ole Miss, or 11 and 1 Indiana.
- 33:19SPEAKER_03: And what's going to happen is that Ohio State game is not going to be competitive because the athlete difference, again, Kirk Century deserves a ton of credit.
- 33:27SPEAKER_03: Maybe coach of the year, probably should be coach of the year.
- 33:30SPEAKER_03: He's going to get absolutely outclassed now to athletes.
- 33:32SPEAKER_03: And then we're going to have the question is does a team that we know stands no chance against a Texas, a Georgia, Oregon, Ohio State, because we saw what happened in that game, deserve a playoff spot if we know they're going to get absolutely just land of the slaughter.
- 33:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think it's a I think that's a fair assessment.
- 33:48SPEAKER_01: And I'm I'm I tend to agree with you.
- 33:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they're gonna strike the schedule and what they've done, they don't, but I think Michigan just showed us that.
- 33:57SPEAKER_03: I think Michigan was the first batch of talent they've seen.
- 33:59SPEAKER_03: Physical, strong players, a lot of guys are gonna go to the NFL.
- 34:02SPEAKER_03: This was their first chance to see it, and it didn't go well.
- 34:04SPEAKER_03: And obviously Ohio State has even more of them.
- 34:06SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 34:07SPEAKER_01: I also think when you look, you you know, you can't look at these things in a vacuum, and the Big Ten being the other dominant conference out there, if Indiana does not get in, you're looking at Oregon, Penn State, Ohio State.
- 34:19SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and then you're then and then there's no way they only get three.
- 34:23SPEAKER_03: See, that's I mean, I'm kind of I think they might.
- 34:25SPEAKER_03: I think Indiana might get jobs.
- 34:26SPEAKER_03: I think Indiana might get left out here.
- 34:28SPEAKER_03: If they if they lose by 40 to Ohio State, which is what I think is gonna happen in two weeks, you might see something because they're gonna want to put in a 10 and two Tennessee or Ole Miss.
- 34:38SPEAKER_03: I'm telling you, it's gonna be one of the things.
- 34:39SPEAKER_01: I don't think they want to.
- 34:40SPEAKER_01: I think they're gonna have to.
- 34:41SPEAKER_03: Because I think everyone, I think I think every people see Tennessee and Ole Miss as teams with enough talent and coaching to actually threaten to win the national championship.
- 34:48SPEAKER_03: I don't think anyone thinks Indiana can do that.
- 34:50SPEAKER_03: And I don't think I think committee in the vacuum is gonna see that.
- 34:53SPEAKER_03: So Indiana's great story.
- 34:55SPEAKER_03: I just last week I was calling Kirk Snay to coach of the year.
- 34:57SPEAKER_03: I am poo-pooing them.
- 34:58SPEAKER_03: Michigan showed the Michigan game showed to me both things can still be true.
- 35:02SPEAKER_03: Both things can still be true.
- 35:03SPEAKER_03: Michigan game showed to me when it when they have to line up against other guys that play high quality football, and there's 12, 15 teams, playoff teams that have that, uh, they're gonna, they're gonna they're gonna be gonna meet uh be bad.
- 35:17SPEAKER_03: Anyway, uh Missouri, uh win versus Oklahoma was insane.
- 35:21SPEAKER_03: Did you catch the ending of the ending of this game?
- 35:22SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 35:23SPEAKER_03: If you're an Oklahoma, two scuba scores last minute.
- 35:26SPEAKER_03: If you're an Oklahoma fan, I don't know how you stomach that one.
- 35:29SPEAKER_03: They're also gonna go, they were supposed to challenge for the SECB in the mix.
- 35:32SPEAKER_03: They're gonna be six and six again.
- 35:34SPEAKER_03: Um, just brutal.
- 35:35SPEAKER_03: And did you see uh Eli Drinkowitz's comments after the game?
- 35:38SPEAKER_03: He was like, Um, we're still alive for the playoff.
- 35:40SPEAKER_03: Technically true, technically true, but that guy he's he's got even long.
- 35:46SPEAKER_03: He's his tigers have even a longer shot than my tigers, but this next week is like the clown bowl.
- 35:50SPEAKER_01: It's Missouri, South Carolina, Beamer Drinkowitz.
- 35:54SPEAKER_01: Oh, I'm I got South Carolina up.
- 35:55SPEAKER_03: I got South Carolina up big.
- 35:57SPEAKER_03: Um, just in crazy loss.
- 35:59SPEAKER_03: No, I agree with you.
- 35:59SPEAKER_03: I just mean of as far as coaches go.
- 36:02SPEAKER_03: Speaking of coaches that are mighty having a tough time, I think Renivals is I mean that that loss, you had you had that one.
- 36:07SPEAKER_03: That one to get up to lose that one in the way you did.
- 36:09SPEAKER_03: And the touchdown that they scored to Missouri to tie it up, the safety just fell.
- 36:13SPEAKER_03: Like it was a bad ball to the sideline.
- 36:15SPEAKER_03: They had coverage over the top, and the safety was just like flopping around on the ground.
- 36:19SPEAKER_03: Like that was an easy knockdown, push out of bounds, easily defended.
- 36:24SPEAKER_03: Instead, it was a walk-in touchdown.
- 36:26SPEAKER_03: And then Jackson Arnold fumble scoop and scored a lose.
- 36:28SPEAKER_03: Just like, oh my god, how do you do that?
- 36:31SPEAKER_03: Jackson Arnold might not be the answer.
- 36:33SPEAKER_03: Might not be the answer.
- 36:34SPEAKER_03: Um, I think he's better than Michael Hawkins, but he might not be the answer.
- 36:36SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 36:37SPEAKER_03: Uh all right.
- 36:37SPEAKER_03: Lastly, I don't even want to talk about this game.
- 36:38SPEAKER_03: I think we have to because it was probably the second biggest game.
- 36:42SPEAKER_03: Ole Miss uh gets, I'm sorry, just smacks Georgia.
- 36:45SPEAKER_03: Um, I my love hate relationship with Georgia football continues.
- 36:49SPEAKER_03: Um, my preseason pick of them being number one, Heisman are getting worse and worse every week.
- 36:54SPEAKER_03: Um, Ole Miss showed up and did what they do.
- 36:57SPEAKER_03: And after the opening drive, when they went down seven-nothing, they were in control the whole time.
- 37:02SPEAKER_03: Give them a lot of credit.
- 37:03SPEAKER_03: Lane Kiffen's got those guys dealing.
- 37:05SPEAKER_03: I don't know what else to say about it.
- 37:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that was a statement game for Ole Miss for sure.
- 37:10SPEAKER_01: I think that was one of those games um, you know, Old Miss was just ready and the crowd was ready.
- 37:17SPEAKER_01: It was prime time, it's a night game.
- 37:19SPEAKER_01: Kind of a the same situation that Tennessee's walking into at Georgia, which we'll talk about in a minute.
- 37:24SPEAKER_01: Um, but sometimes in college football, there are just those games that you're just walking into.
- 37:29SPEAKER_01: And I think that was the case.
- 37:30SPEAKER_01: And and it it didn't help that you know Georgia has offensive line issues, oldness has one of the best D-lines of the country, Jackson Dart can sling it.
- 37:38SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, it was it was a statement game for sure, and it puts Ole Miss right back in the thick of a national national championship contender.
- 37:46SPEAKER_03: It's funny because when the when they lost to LSU, which looking back now, I'm like, God, how do we beat them?
- 37:51SPEAKER_03: It really feels like a miracle.
- 37:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I we all thought they didn't trail the entire game.
- 37:57SPEAKER_03: I know overtime.
- 37:58SPEAKER_03: Really until until the play they lost on.
- 38:01SPEAKER_03: It that that game, I thought was their eliminator because I was like, there's no way they're beating Georgia.
- 38:06SPEAKER_03: There's no way they're beating Georgia, and they have to play them, so they're done.
- 38:08SPEAKER_03: They're gonna lose like their season's over.
- 38:10SPEAKER_03: And kudos to them for rallying to the to the cause.
- 38:14SPEAKER_03: And rebels are alive for another week and in the thick of it.
- 38:17SPEAKER_03: I mean, I think they're gonna, I think they're gonna, I think they're well positioned for an at-large bid.
- 38:20SPEAKER_03: So good for them.
- 38:21SPEAKER_03: Georgia is, I still think as well, but obviously their margin for victory is zero.
- 38:26SPEAKER_03: They can't lose against Tennessee, which we'll talk about in a minute.
- 38:28SPEAKER_03: Um, but uh, I think both teams are probably going to go into the playoffs.
- 38:32SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 38:32SPEAKER_03: Um, let's talk quickly about the homers.
- 38:35SPEAKER_03: Uh Clemson at Virginia Tech.
- 38:36SPEAKER_03: Beamer ball is back.
- 38:38SPEAKER_03: They blocked a field goal, scuba score, touchdown.
- 38:42SPEAKER_03: And that was about the only highlight for the whole game.
- 38:44SPEAKER_03: They went up 7-0.
- 38:46SPEAKER_03: Um, drones and went left the game.
- 38:49SPEAKER_03: Uh, Tootin uh was ineffective.
- 38:51SPEAKER_03: I think they might, they both guys might still be dealing with injuries.
- 38:54SPEAKER_03: I think he's still banged up.
- 38:56SPEAKER_03: I think so too.
- 38:56SPEAKER_03: Collin Schley took over.
- 38:58SPEAKER_03: So Beaver Ball back for a minute, um, but not enough pry ball, uh, as I like to call their their offense.
- 39:04SPEAKER_03: Um, to yeah, you know, Clemson.
- 39:06SPEAKER_03: That game was never, despite the 7-0 early win, never felt like they really had a chance in that game.
- 39:13SPEAKER_01: No.
- 39:14SPEAKER_01: Um Clemson just outmatched them.
- 39:16SPEAKER_01: Unfortunately, outmatched them.
- 39:18SPEAKER_03: Just tough, tough loss.
- 39:19SPEAKER_03: Uh UVA at Pitt, massive win, 24-19.
- 39:23SPEAKER_03: Really, really happy for the Wahoos.
- 39:25SPEAKER_03: Uh, this was a game that Tony Elliott absolutely had to have.
- 39:28SPEAKER_03: Pitt has been a flawed team, kind of like that BYU, just Miami just kind of skating by, getting lucky every week.
- 39:34SPEAKER_03: And uh they met the buzzsaw that is the uh Virginia Cavaliers, Wahoos, Wahoo Wa, good for them.
- 39:42SPEAKER_03: Um, again, at Notre Dame versus SMU, and then at Virginia Tech, you know, you got to play football games.
- 39:47SPEAKER_03: You never know.
- 39:47SPEAKER_03: Things might happen.
- 39:48SPEAKER_03: Maybe it'll get it.
- 39:48SPEAKER_01: I mean, so it's so hard to win, man.
- 39:51SPEAKER_01: It's so hard to be consistent.
- 39:52SPEAKER_01: You see all these teams every week.
- 39:53SPEAKER_01: I mean, this one probably wasn't on a ton of people's radars nationally, but you know, Pitt was undefeated just a couple weeks ago, and everyone was talking about them as a sleeper team in the ACC.
- 40:02SPEAKER_01: And then here comes little old UVA and says, I got this.
- 40:06SPEAKER_01: So it's just like, you know, it's tough to yeah, as much as we dunk on your you know, your BYUs and your Indiana's, it's just tough to win.
- 40:13SPEAKER_01: It's tough to be undefeated, it's tough to go one loss.
- 40:16SPEAKER_01: Um so yeah, nice win for UVA.
- 40:19SPEAKER_03: Nice one for UVA.
- 40:20SPEAKER_03: Hopefully they can get one more and get to their first postseason in uh many boons.
- 40:23SPEAKER_03: Uh Mississippi State at uh Tennessee, uh, way to show up and take care of business on a potential trap, secured the W.
- 40:30SPEAKER_03: Samson was a stud.
- 40:31SPEAKER_03: Mississippi State uh showed some signs of life, but Tennessee dealt with them.
- 40:35SPEAKER_03: Um, my question for you is I want to walk your thoughts.
- 40:38SPEAKER_03: And two, if you my only question for you is what's the status on Nico?
- 40:41SPEAKER_03: Is he hurt?
- 40:42SPEAKER_03: What's going on?
- 40:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so Nico um went out and didn't play in the second half.
- 40:46SPEAKER_01: Um, he had a very really good first half.
- 40:49SPEAKER_01: He had a couple deep balls, uh looked to be in rhythm.
- 40:52SPEAKER_01: Um rumor is concussion protocol.
- 40:55SPEAKER_01: Uh so not a lot of um news coming out of there.
- 40:59SPEAKER_01: Although they said he was at practice throwing throwing the ball around yesterday, which, you know, from everything I know about concussions, is as long as no symptoms crop back up, that puts him at about stage three in the concussion protocol, which um puts him on track to play this weekend.
- 41:14SPEAKER_01: So I'm hopeful, but you never know with with those head injuries, if something pops up, if he starts feeling bad again, uh we'll be looking at Gaston Moore.
- 41:21SPEAKER_03: How do you feel about Gaston Moore?
- 41:22SPEAKER_03: I mean, he was okay in the I mean he wasn't really challenged by Mississippi State, obviously, but he looked okay in that in that small amount of time.
- 41:30SPEAKER_01: I think, and this is kind of maybe a hot take for at least my friends who do are we're not gonna think we're we can love Gaston Moore.
- 41:39SPEAKER_01: I think he is capable enough.
- 41:40SPEAKER_01: He's a fifth-year senior, he's been in the system a long time.
- 41:43SPEAKER_01: He doesn't have the arm talent, but he knows what to do.
- 41:46SPEAKER_01: And what we need in this game is a game, a game manager.
- 41:50SPEAKER_01: We need somebody who can make a few throws here and there.
- 41:52SPEAKER_01: Um, and we need to lean on defense and run game in a low-scoring um, you know, slug fest.
- 41:57SPEAKER_01: So I think we can go into Athens and win with a gas and more.
- 42:00SPEAKER_01: Do I think it's very likely?
- 42:02SPEAKER_01: No, but he could he could certainly do enough in my mind.
- 42:06SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 42:06SPEAKER_03: Um, I'm happy to hear that, Nico.
- 42:08SPEAKER_03: The concussion thing is is definitely tricky.
- 42:10SPEAKER_01: But yeah, I do think Nico will play.
- 42:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and that's and that is that is the big thing.
- 42:14SPEAKER_03: We'll we'll talk about that game in a minute more in detail, but that's that's the only good.
- 42:17SPEAKER_03: Um, I also think I'm gonna say it.
- 42:19SPEAKER_03: I think Mississippi State is showing signs of life.
- 42:21SPEAKER_03: I like Jeff Levy, I like that offense.
- 42:24SPEAKER_03: They did that um that hat that halfback delay run and gash Tennessee for a whole bunch of yards a lot in that game.
- 42:31SPEAKER_03: They have no talent.
- 42:32SPEAKER_03: Um, they are they are their defense is guys that just aren't ready.
- 42:36SPEAKER_03: They're not ready.
- 42:37SPEAKER_03: Early upset pick, Mississippi State off a bye week gets Missouri at home in two weeks.
- 42:43SPEAKER_03: I think Mississippi State's gonna get their one and only SEC win hosting Missouri in two weeks, especially if they have to go if it's Drew Pine again.
- 42:51SPEAKER_03: Drew Pine is an awful, awful quarterback.
- 42:53SPEAKER_01: If they don't have Brady Cook, I think Cook's gonna be back.
- 42:56SPEAKER_01: Um I will say I like what Michael Van Buren junior is doing.
- 43:00SPEAKER_01: Me too.
- 43:02SPEAKER_01: He looks really good.
- 43:02SPEAKER_01: He does I he was out there making plays and uh against Tennessee, and then I looked at a stat line and it was like less than 100 yards, and I was like, I thought he was I thought he was having a good game.
- 43:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I felt the exact same way because I I watched the highlights and I was like, okay, okay.
- 43:15SPEAKER_03: And then with the box score, I was like, that's not what I thought I just saw.
- 43:18SPEAKER_01: But it felt like they were doing some things, and then you look at the score, you look at the box score, and you're like, oh no.
- 43:23SPEAKER_03: They're gonna finish the season two and ten.
- 43:24SPEAKER_03: I mean, they're in big trouble.
- 43:25SPEAKER_03: This is year one of Jeff Levy, and obviously Zach Arnett, the guy before him, took over um because the previous quarterback died had died tragically.
- 43:33SPEAKER_03: So, like, it is a Mississippi State is in a big transition period, it's gonna be a while, and Mississippi State is one of the half-Nazi SEC, so it's just tough sledding anyway.
- 43:41SPEAKER_03: They're not good.
- 43:42SPEAKER_03: I'm not sure how much they're how much better they're gonna be next year, but I'm I'm bullish on what I see out of Michael Van Buren, Jeff Levy.
- 43:48SPEAKER_03: I think they're I think they're getting better.
- 43:50SPEAKER_03: I think they're getting better.
- 43:50SPEAKER_01: And when you look at what they can do, they've surged a little bit on offense.
- 43:55SPEAKER_01: They run a very similar offensive scheme as Tennessee, put up 31 points on Georgia, 24 points uh at AM, yeah, 25 points at Arkansas.
- 44:04SPEAKER_01: I mean, they've done some things, yeah.
- 44:05SPEAKER_01: And it might maybe a good little roadmap for what Tennessee might be able to do on offense against a bull the Bulldogs this weekend.
- 44:11SPEAKER_03: Very cool.
- 44:12SPEAKER_03: All right, that is all.
- 44:13SPEAKER_03: Oh, obviously, we have one more game.
- 44:15SPEAKER_03: My game.
- 44:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 44:16SPEAKER_03: Uh Bama at LSU, game day, all the sights and sound, the most impressive recruiters visiting list.
- 44:22SPEAKER_03: You ever think there was like nine five stars there?
- 44:25SPEAKER_03: Celebrities were there, the whole nine.
- 44:26SPEAKER_03: We uh the governor of Louisiana forced us to bring in a fake tiger named Omar, literally named Omar from Florida, which was a just in just so stupid.
- 44:35SPEAKER_01: Bad like the bad omen.
- 44:37SPEAKER_03: So bad, so so bad.
- 44:39SPEAKER_03: Um uh look, we didn't have an answer for Jalen Milrow.
- 44:43SPEAKER_03: He ran for 180 yards and four touchdowns, doing the uh zone read uh keeper stuff that uh Marcel Reed plagued us with in Texas AM second half.
- 44:52SPEAKER_03: This is six straight quarters of bad football.
- 44:55SPEAKER_03: LSU's defense was historically bad yes last year.
- 44:58SPEAKER_03: It has gotten better, it has getting clearly made strides, but it's we do not have the personnel.
- 45:04SPEAKER_03: And we're Blake Baker's gonna be in there a year or two.
- 45:06SPEAKER_03: Offensively, uh Garrett Nussmeyer was another another another week of him having to do it all.
- 45:12SPEAKER_03: We saw some variety in the run game, some end around, some stuff to Xavion Thomas that it was interesting.
- 45:17SPEAKER_03: Juwan Johnson had direct snap, like a little bit of flair, but just not nearly enough.
- 45:22SPEAKER_03: Garrett Nusk do off a interception into the end zones, back foot.
- 45:25SPEAKER_03: Obviously, that fumble at the end of the half was a real backbreaker.
- 45:28SPEAKER_03: Um, if you watch, if you go back and watch the offensive line, the guy who got him had two untouched LSU offensive linemen just watch him go past him.
- 45:38SPEAKER_03: Um, it's just a bad game.
- 45:40SPEAKER_03: It's just a really bad game for us.
- 45:41SPEAKER_03: And losing to a team that we hate so much by 30 at home in Death Valley, just brutal.
- 45:47SPEAKER_03: So they're getting loud.
- 45:49SPEAKER_03: I don't, I'm not that worried about our team because we were we it would have been nice with the playoffs this year, but we have too many problems.
- 45:56SPEAKER_03: We're too flawed.
- 45:58SPEAKER_03: We are looking at next year going with a big recruiting class, hoping things get better.
- 46:01SPEAKER_03: But um, you know, Nussmeyer, I'm expecting back next year.
- 46:05SPEAKER_03: Uh so one point people are talking about Nussmeyer as a first-round pick.
- 46:09SPEAKER_03: There have been three first round picks in the last 25 years that have started one year and gone pro.
- 46:15SPEAKER_03: Can you name any of them?
- 46:21SPEAKER_01: Was Cam Cam Newton?
- 46:22SPEAKER_03: Cam Newton was one, he's the good one, and there's two bad ones.
- 46:26SPEAKER_03: Other two, Mark Sanchez and Mitch Trubisky.
- 46:29SPEAKER_03: My point for all of you Garrett Nussmeyer is coming back.
- 46:32SPEAKER_03: Every NFL scout is saying him, look, man, you've you have a very live arm, you're a gunslinger, you've got potential, but you need another year.
- 46:39SPEAKER_03: So I'm expecting him to get back, and then I'm expecting him to grow.
- 46:42SPEAKER_03: You know, the the growth that we saw from Joe Burrow from year one to year two at LSU was obviously astronomical.
- 46:49SPEAKER_03: He became a legend.
- 46:50SPEAKER_03: Exact same story with Jaden Daniels, uh, two years ago.
- 46:53SPEAKER_03: I'm not saying Garrett Nussmeyer is gonna do that, but I'm saying he needs another year for us to decide what we have with him.
- 46:58SPEAKER_03: And this year he just he wasn't ready.
- 47:00SPEAKER_03: It wasn't it, he wasn't it.
- 47:02SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, I think um, you know, he's still young.
- 47:06SPEAKER_01: Um, I'm looking at the same thing kind of with Nico.
- 47:08SPEAKER_01: The expectations were very high for both guys, um, but it takes starts and it takes a lot of time to grow in an offense before you're seeing things um kind of on that next level, before you know, you're not just up there running plays, you're kind of looking at the if if-then situations and and diagnosing things and and seeing the field a little bit better.
- 47:27SPEAKER_01: Uh, I also think, I mean, that in order for him to have success at all, they've got to find some ground game to lean on.
- 47:34SPEAKER_01: This is you can't be so one-dimensional.
- 47:36SPEAKER_01: And to Alabama's credit, they have totally changed the way that they are utilizing Jalen Milrow.
- 47:41SPEAKER_01: I don't know if he was injured, um, but it tells me a lot that their coaching staff is willing to, you know, see what the issue is.
- 47:49SPEAKER_01: And I mean, their game plan, they had a fantastic game plan going into this game.
- 47:52SPEAKER_01: And I don't think anybody expected Jalen Milrow to run for 185 yards, four touchdowns.
- 47:58SPEAKER_01: But um I sure did.
- 48:00SPEAKER_01: I mean, credit to them, right?
- 48:01SPEAKER_01: Like they didn't they they they changed what they're doing to to match his skill set.
- 48:06SPEAKER_01: They've adapted and it's working, and they're playing really right now the best football that they've played all year.
- 48:10SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Bama's gonna Bama's Bama's gonna Bama.
- 48:13SPEAKER_03: The worst, the worst news possible of the whole week.
- 48:15SPEAKER_03: Um, they are right back in the thick of it and probably a playoff team.
- 48:18SPEAKER_03: Uh, they've got some sticky points down the way, but we're they're probably looking at making the playoffs.
- 48:22SPEAKER_03: So LSU tough loss.
- 48:24SPEAKER_03: We're not done.
- 48:24SPEAKER_03: We are mathematical LMA.
- 48:26SPEAKER_03: We're only two losses in conference, so we are right there in the thick of that log jam of folks.
- 48:30SPEAKER_03: We've got three games left against Oklahoma, Vandy, and Florida this week.
- 48:34SPEAKER_03: Um, we win them out, we win all of them.
- 48:36SPEAKER_03: A couple small things happen here or there.
- 48:38SPEAKER_03: Our path is back.
- 48:39SPEAKER_03: So we're not done, but you know, this is six straight quarters of bad, bad football out of the LSU Tigers.
- 48:44SPEAKER_03: Um, hopefully, Brian Kelly and the guys can turn around, move forward.
- 48:48SPEAKER_03: All right, that is enough of what was a just a bummer of week 11.
- 48:52SPEAKER_03: Uh, it's should we go ahead and jump into week 12 and get it going to get some winners?
- 48:57SPEAKER_01: We're getting a little late in the pod, and um, I think people are ready to make some money.
- 49:02SPEAKER_03: Yeah, let's make some money.
- 49:03SPEAKER_03: Here we go.
- 49:03SPEAKER_00: All I do is win, win, win, no matter what.
- 49:06SPEAKER_03: All right, week one.
- 49:07SPEAKER_03: So uh sorry, uh top of the line, uh Kansas at number seven BYU.
- 49:12SPEAKER_03: Uh it's actually a late night game.
- 49:13SPEAKER_03: BYU is a three and a half point spread over under 55 and a half.
- 49:16SPEAKER_03: I loved what I saw out of Kansas.
- 49:18SPEAKER_03: Jalen Daniels is dealing.
- 49:20SPEAKER_03: Devin Neal went for a just uh had a great day.
- 49:24SPEAKER_03: Um, I got Kansas winning outright.
- 49:26SPEAKER_03: Um, can I get you on board with Kansas beating BYU?
- 49:30SPEAKER_03: They've been fraudulent.
- 49:31SPEAKER_03: Like this is this is this is November football.
- 49:34SPEAKER_03: This is where people get hot.
- 49:35SPEAKER_03: I mean, BYU has been skating by the game is in is at BYU, which I don't love, but like I got Kansas to win, to win outright.
- 49:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, this is a total recency bias, knee-jerk reaction to me.
- 49:48SPEAKER_01: Jalen uh Daniels just had his like best game of the year, and I think they carry it on.
- 49:54SPEAKER_01: I think BYU takes a hit.
- 49:57SPEAKER_03: All right, so we are we are both on board with Kansas uh money line winning.
- 50:02SPEAKER_03: Not even we're not even taking the three points, we're taking the money line.
- 50:05SPEAKER_01: Who needs them?
- 50:05SPEAKER_01: Three points.
- 50:06SPEAKER_01: Oh, let's do it.
- 50:07SPEAKER_01: I scoff at your three points.
- 50:08SPEAKER_01: Scoff at your three points.
- 50:10SPEAKER_03: Love it.
- 50:10SPEAKER_03: All right, cool.
- 50:10SPEAKER_03: Number 25, Tulane, uh, six and a half points at Navy.
- 50:14SPEAKER_03: We're talking about this game because I'm actually gonna be at this game.
- 50:16SPEAKER_03: This is the first time I've ever been to Annapolis for a football game, so I'm very excited.
- 50:20SPEAKER_03: Over under 54 and a half.
- 50:22SPEAKER_03: Uh Tulane is underrated.
- 50:24SPEAKER_03: They are six and oh in conference.
- 50:26SPEAKER_03: I think they're actually gonna win the AAC.
- 50:28SPEAKER_03: They've murdered their last two opponents.
- 50:30SPEAKER_03: Their only two losses are to a still pretty good Oklahoma team at the time and Kansas State, who I think is the best team in the Big 12.
- 50:37SPEAKER_03: Tulane is good.
- 50:38SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna be rooting for Navy because I'm gonna be there, but I got Tulane winning.
- 50:42SPEAKER_01: And you're an American, right?
- 50:43SPEAKER_03: And I'll love the troops, support the troops, obviously.
- 50:45SPEAKER_03: I even bought Navy gear.
- 50:46SPEAKER_03: Um, you're gonna see, I'm gonna you'll have some content for me at the game, which we'll post on our socials, so make sure you're following.
- 50:51SPEAKER_03: I even bought some Navy gear, so I'll be I will be pulling for the middies, but I got Tulane winning this game by 14 points.
- 50:57SPEAKER_03: I think Tulane is really good.
- 50:59SPEAKER_03: They are the if anyone's gonna threaten Boise for that playoff spot, it's gonna be Tulane.
- 51:03SPEAKER_03: Um, what are you giving your Tulane?
- 51:05SPEAKER_01: I like yeah, I like Tulane to cover.
- 51:07SPEAKER_01: I okay Tulane's been a quietly good, really good team all year.
- 51:11SPEAKER_01: And um, you know, Navy's solid and it's it's a home game, but um, you know, the the competition is a step up this time.
- 51:19SPEAKER_01: And for the record, the line that spread's too large either.
- 51:22SPEAKER_03: No, and the spread actually opened at like minus five and a half, it's moved to minus six and a half seven.
- 51:25SPEAKER_03: So, like Vegas also agrees with us that they're seeing the same thing we're seeing.
- 51:29SPEAKER_03: Also, Navy lost to Rice two weeks ago.
- 51:32SPEAKER_03: So, you know, navy is Navy was cable some stinkers.
- 51:35SPEAKER_03: Number three, Texas, minus 16 and a half, now 13 and a half.
- 51:39SPEAKER_03: Folks are pounding Arkansas.
- 51:42SPEAKER_03: This game is at Arkansas over in 57 and a half.
- 51:44SPEAKER_03: I have no idea who it's who it's who I have no idea how this game was going to go, but Texas has not beat ranked anyone.
- 51:51SPEAKER_03: And you know, the best rank is maybe Vandy.
- 51:54SPEAKER_03: Um, I don't know.
- 51:55SPEAKER_03: I'm wondering if Texas is a little fraudulent.
- 51:58SPEAKER_03: Arkansas coming off a bye, getting almost two touchdowns at home.
- 52:03SPEAKER_03: I'm not I'm not confident about anything, but I think if I was betting anything, it would be the under 57 and a half or Arkansas plus 13 and a half.
- 52:11SPEAKER_03: Do you love anything in this matchup?
- 52:13SPEAKER_01: I don't love it, but if I was gonna pick, I would I would say Arkansas could cover.
- 52:17SPEAKER_01: I think this is they're kind of a sneaky, good team.
- 52:20SPEAKER_01: You know, they're still they still do some things on offense in the run game that are good, and um, it's at home.
- 52:27SPEAKER_01: And yeah, I just think maybe this Texas doesn't play it its its best.
- 52:31SPEAKER_01: I think last time they went to to Arkansas, they got shellacked in like a real gotcha game.
- 52:37SPEAKER_01: Um, I don't know if this is that.
- 52:38SPEAKER_01: Uh, I don't feel strongly about it, but I would take Arky to cover.
- 52:41SPEAKER_03: Arkey plus 13 and a half.
- 52:44SPEAKER_01: That's what I would take.
- 52:45SPEAKER_03: All right, I'm gonna do it too.
- 52:46SPEAKER_03: I uh what we're gonna we're gonna go put it there.
- 52:47SPEAKER_03: I think that's I think that is the play.
- 52:49SPEAKER_03: Um they can run, they can they can run the ball pretty well.
- 52:53SPEAKER_03: They're dynamic with their quarterback.
- 52:54SPEAKER_03: Playing in Fayetteville is tough.
- 52:56SPEAKER_03: Um, LSU fans, Tennessee fans know that.
- 52:58SPEAKER_03: Um, and they rush the pasture really well.
- 53:00SPEAKER_03: Landon Jackson's like the number two on everyone's big board of defensive ends.
- 53:04SPEAKER_03: That guy is a is absolutely gonna get to the quarterback, and Texas has not been able to block teams with great uh with great defensive defensive lines like Georgia.
- 53:11SPEAKER_03: I mean, Georgia lived in their backfield.
- 53:13SPEAKER_03: So I like Arkansas to muck this up and keep it close.
- 53:15SPEAKER_03: So let's take Arkansas and the points.
- 53:17SPEAKER_03: Clemson minus 10 at pit, 54 and a half over under here.
- 53:22SPEAKER_03: Kind of feel the same with the way the last one.
- 53:23SPEAKER_03: I don't really love anything, but I if anything, I would take pit to bounce back, maybe plus 10.
- 53:28SPEAKER_03: Um, Virginia Tech was not healthy, so we don't give, I don't give Clemson a ton of wit credit for that one.
- 53:34SPEAKER_03: And Clemson just lost a backbreaker to UVA.
- 53:36SPEAKER_03: They might have that.
- 53:37SPEAKER_03: Oh my god, our you know, we might see an angry, angry, angry pit here.
- 53:43SPEAKER_03: Um, I could stay away from this one too.
- 53:46SPEAKER_03: Uh and do you Clemson Pitt over under 54 and a half?
- 53:49SPEAKER_03: What do you got?
- 53:50SPEAKER_01: My my feeling is is Clemson goes in there and covers.
- 53:52SPEAKER_01: I think the cracks have been shown uh for Pitt and I think I think Clemson continues to do what Clemson does most of the time.
- 54:01SPEAKER_01: Uh I think the spread is right where you know right where it makes it a little dicey.
- 54:08SPEAKER_01: Um, but I I do think Pitt probably wins, or I mean Clemson wins by a couple scores.
- 54:12SPEAKER_03: All right, so I think I'm I disagree with you.
- 54:13SPEAKER_03: I kind of think so.
- 54:13SPEAKER_03: I think we're we're gonna stay away from this one.
- 54:15SPEAKER_03: Okay, yeah.
- 54:16SPEAKER_03: Clemson Pitt's gonna be a stay away.
- 54:17SPEAKER_03: All right, Utah at number 20, Colorado.
- 54:20SPEAKER_03: It was minus 10.
- 54:21SPEAKER_03: Now it's minus 11, minus 11 and a half.
- 54:23SPEAKER_03: So money is coming in on Colorado over under 47 and a half, which is kind of low.
- 54:28SPEAKER_03: Um, weird spot because it's gonna be played at 10 a.m.
- 54:32SPEAKER_03: local.
- 54:32SPEAKER_03: So it's gonna be in in Boulder at 10 a.m.
- 54:37SPEAKER_03: So like wake up, it's gonna be cold, you know, get some coffee in you, like maybe a maybe a slow start from my kind of like Utah to keep it.
- 54:45SPEAKER_03: I mean, Colorado is really dynamic on offense.
- 54:48SPEAKER_03: Um, I kind of like Utah to go in there and take advantage of that and like keep it close.
- 54:53SPEAKER_03: And but now that Vegas is disagreeing with me, and that's like I don't know, give me your Utah cup buff buffalo stake.
- 55:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, to me, um, to me, the the thing that stands out to me on this game is the over under 46 and a half.
- 55:05SPEAKER_01: I think I think they go over that.
- 55:06SPEAKER_01: I don't think Utah is just completely styming the the Colorado offense.
- 55:11SPEAKER_01: Um I there's there's a weird matchup scenario here where maybe Utah limits the big plays um with their defense uh and keeps it close.
- 55:23SPEAKER_01: But I I the thing that jumps out to me again uh is the over-under.
- 55:27SPEAKER_01: I like the over.
- 55:27SPEAKER_03: All right, I'm gonna go with you on that.
- 55:28SPEAKER_03: We're we're gonna take that over.
- 55:29SPEAKER_03: All right, Nebraska at USC, USC minus nine.
- 55:33SPEAKER_03: Uh, I'm only gonna watch this game because I want Nebraska to get their sixth win at the bowl.
- 55:36SPEAKER_03: Over under is 15 and a half.
- 55:38SPEAKER_03: Uh there will be no home field home field advantage because nobody goes to USC football games.
- 55:42SPEAKER_03: Nebraska's coming off a bye.
- 55:44SPEAKER_03: They actually just hired Dana Holgerin as their new offensive coordinator, maybe shot in the arm situation.
- 55:49SPEAKER_03: USC, I think, is kind of on a quit watch anyway.
- 55:52SPEAKER_03: Um they're and their team's kind of falling apart.
- 55:54SPEAKER_03: Uh, I kind of think, but I kind of think Nebraska's not gonna lay down, and USC might not confident.
- 56:01SPEAKER_03: I could stay away if you want to stay away, but if anything, I'm leaning Nebraska plus nine.
- 56:04SPEAKER_03: What do you got?
- 56:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I would lean Nebraska plus nine, but I think when you're talking about like which team is boning it in, I think that's a very uh shaky ground to stand on.
- 56:14SPEAKER_01: So I don't know if that's enough confidence for me to want to lay uh lean into that one.
- 56:18SPEAKER_03: So Nebraska I'll I'll say this, it's now down to eight and a half.
- 56:21SPEAKER_03: So Vegas agrees with us.
- 56:22SPEAKER_03: So people are people are the smart people agree that Nebraska might be the play.
- 56:27SPEAKER_03: Do you want to take Nebraska plus eight and a half, or do you want to get out of here?
- 56:29SPEAKER_01: You want to move you wanna so let's just add it in there.
- 56:31SPEAKER_01: Just sprinkle that in there.
- 56:32SPEAKER_01: All right, Nebraska plus.
- 56:33SPEAKER_01: Let's do it.
- 56:34SPEAKER_01: Nebraska.
- 56:34SPEAKER_01: I'm feeling I'm feeling wild.
- 56:36SPEAKER_03: All right, come on, Nebraska.
- 56:37SPEAKER_03: Get that six win.
- 56:38SPEAKER_03: Go to a bowl.
- 56:38SPEAKER_03: All right, taking Nebraska plus six and a half.
- 56:40SPEAKER_03: Uh Baylor, minus two uh at West Virginia.
- 56:44SPEAKER_03: Um, West Virginia used to be a tough place to play.
- 56:46SPEAKER_03: It's not anymore.
- 56:47SPEAKER_03: All they do is lose there.
- 56:48SPEAKER_03: Uh over under 58 and a half.
- 56:50SPEAKER_03: The Baylor has won three straight.
- 56:51SPEAKER_03: They have figured some things out.
- 56:52SPEAKER_03: They are coming off.
- 56:54SPEAKER_03: I am doubling down on my you know.
- 56:56SPEAKER_03: I mean, I don't even know.
- 56:57SPEAKER_03: I don't even have to ask, but I will anyway.
- 56:59SPEAKER_03: We're we're taking Baylor to cover, right?
- 57:01SPEAKER_03: I guess.
- 57:02SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 57:03SPEAKER_03: Sure.
- 57:03SPEAKER_03: Dude, your random take is a good one.
- 57:05SPEAKER_03: You were just early on it.
- 57:06SPEAKER_03: They, dude, they have been they have been very good these last three games.
- 57:10SPEAKER_03: Um, uh, the the line has gone out up to two and a half, so obviously Vegas agrees with us.
- 57:15SPEAKER_03: Um, I West Virginia is gonna file near Brown.
- 57:18SPEAKER_03: All they do is lose at home.
- 57:20SPEAKER_03: Morgantown is not the rabid, awful place that it was to play anymore because nobody loses there.
- 57:25SPEAKER_03: So give me a rand uh to cover that.
- 57:27SPEAKER_03: All right, we're doing that one too.
- 57:28SPEAKER_03: Uh number 24, Mizzou.
- 57:30SPEAKER_03: This is the only other ranked game other than your game.
- 57:33SPEAKER_03: At number 23, South Carolina, South Carolina uh minus 13 and a half down to minus 12 and a half.
- 57:39SPEAKER_03: So Mizzou is getting some love.
- 57:40SPEAKER_03: The over-under is low, 44 and a half points.
- 57:43SPEAKER_03: That's a low over-under for a double-digit spread.
- 57:48SPEAKER_03: Um, I love South Carolina here, but I got major pause about them covering 14 points if they're only calling for 44 and a half points.
- 57:57SPEAKER_03: That means that means South Carolina winning 28 to 13, which I don't think is gonna happen.
- 58:05SPEAKER_03: Um, I'm feeling stay away.
- 58:07SPEAKER_03: What are your give me your what do you got?
- 58:08SPEAKER_01: You know, these yeah, I love South Carolina as well here.
- 58:11SPEAKER_01: I'm surprised that the line is is so big.
- 58:15SPEAKER_01: Um, it is it is it has come down a little bit.
- 58:18SPEAKER_01: Williams Bryce.
- 58:19SPEAKER_01: Um, and we, you know, I think Cook may be back.
- 58:22SPEAKER_01: I think that might make make a difference.
- 58:24SPEAKER_01: Um I I kind of lean towards South Carolina covering, but I do think you're probably right.
- 58:30SPEAKER_01: It's it's it's a stay away.
- 58:31SPEAKER_01: Because I don't think they win by two touchdowns.
- 58:33SPEAKER_01: I think it's kind of a close game.
- 58:34SPEAKER_03: Me too.
- 58:35SPEAKER_03: And if they're only calling for 44 and a half points, it's a low spread for a two-touchdown like everything for that to happen.
- 58:40SPEAKER_03: I feel like everything has to go South Carolina's way.
- 58:42SPEAKER_03: And if they get Brady Cook back, then which I didn't know that.
- 58:44SPEAKER_03: Um now I'm even less even more less skeptical.
- 58:46SPEAKER_03: All right, we're staying away.
- 58:47SPEAKER_01: I don't think Missouri's gonna be able to score in South Carolina, but we'll see.
- 58:51SPEAKER_01: Uh we're staying away.
- 58:53SPEAKER_03: I think you're right.
- 58:53SPEAKER_03: We'll stay with that one.
- 58:54SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 58:55SPEAKER_03: Number one, Oregon.
- 58:56SPEAKER_03: Um, only only a 14-point favorite at Wisconsin over under 52 and a half, which is plenty of points.
- 59:02SPEAKER_03: I don't have anything other than that, just feels low.
- 59:05SPEAKER_03: Wisconsin, what has Wisconsin done to make you think they can stay within two touchdowns of uh Vegas?
- 59:13SPEAKER_03: I mean, I they're playing at home, which is nice, but what what do you like about?
- 59:17SPEAKER_03: I mean, Oregon had no problem going to Michigan and doing this.
- 59:19SPEAKER_03: Covered, they won by 17 or 20.
- 59:21SPEAKER_03: I like Oregon to cover because I don't know.
- 59:23SPEAKER_03: I like Oregon to cover.
- 59:24SPEAKER_01: All right, I'm just I'm gonna go ahead and jump in.
- 59:26SPEAKER_01: I have no hesitation taking Oregon to cover.
- 59:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we're taking Oregon.
- 59:29SPEAKER_01: No hesitation.
- 59:30SPEAKER_03: Um, until they give me a reason not to.
- 59:32SPEAKER_03: Um that's that's absolutely where I how I feel.
- 59:33SPEAKER_03: Well, are you cool?
- 59:34SPEAKER_01: Penn State's offense is better than Oregon's offense.
- 59:38SPEAKER_03: Does Penn State's better?
- 59:39SPEAKER_03: No, I don't.
- 59:40SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 59:41SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 59:41SPEAKER_03: All right, cool.
- 59:42SPEAKER_03: Penn State just beat Okay.
- 59:44SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 59:45SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 59:45SPEAKER_03: Uh Homer's last four.
- 59:46SPEAKER_03: Uh Virginia Tech is on a bye.
- 59:48SPEAKER_03: They got they're at Duke next week.
- 59:50SPEAKER_03: UVA um at number eight, Notre Dame.
- 59:52SPEAKER_03: Tough spot.
- 59:53SPEAKER_03: Uh, Notre Dame is a 23 points spread uh over under 15 and a half.
- 59:57SPEAKER_03: We can't bet on this anyway, but um, give me UVA plus 23 because they're showing signs of life.
- 1:00:03SPEAKER_03: They're they're they're plucky and they're fighting for their bowl eligibility, and uh, you know, crazy things have happened.
- 1:00:08SPEAKER_03: So I'll give me the give me the wahoos and the points.
- 1:00:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I I don't hate that.
- 1:00:13SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, 23 is a lot of points, and UVA is shown to be um capable enough to hang around.
- 1:00:20SPEAKER_01: I don't think Notre Dame is that explosive where they're just gonna splash play all over them.
- 1:00:24SPEAKER_01: So yeah, let's go waho's cover that spread.
- 1:00:27SPEAKER_03: Sure, why not?
- 1:00:28SPEAKER_03: We can't put nothing in the mic, but bit the mic blitzback of the week, as you all know, because Virginia School, but just for uh just for for your for honor, for for style points, we'll take UV points.
- 1:00:37SPEAKER_03: Uh number 21, LSU, minus four and a half points at Florida, 55 and a half.
- 1:00:44SPEAKER_03: For me, the question is DJ Lagway.
- 1:00:46SPEAKER_03: Um, if DJ Lagway he's day to day.
- 1:00:49SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:00:50SPEAKER_03: Um, go ahead, what do you got?
- 1:00:51SPEAKER_01: Well, I was just gonna say, yeah, the question is DJ Lagway.
- 1:00:54SPEAKER_01: He's day to day, so we don't we're not gonna know.
- 1:00:56SPEAKER_01: I think um this is a big bounce back spot for LSU.
- 1:01:00SPEAKER_01: And if Lagway's not there, LSU covers.
- 1:01:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah, if he's there, I think it's a little bit of a dangerous game.
- 1:01:06SPEAKER_01: Um, I also don't know how you know how does Florida respond.
- 1:01:10SPEAKER_01: You know, they just got their their skull beat in um by Texas, right?
- 1:01:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think this is a you know, if if Brian Kelly comes back and wins this in dominant fashion, I think that settles a lot of people down.
- 1:01:22SPEAKER_01: I like LSU to win and cover.
- 1:01:24SPEAKER_03: I do too.
- 1:01:24SPEAKER_03: And my my my feelings are similar to yours.
- 1:01:27SPEAKER_03: One, I think even with a healthy DJ Lagway, I think the spread is appropriate.
- 1:01:31SPEAKER_03: I think four and a half points is about right.
- 1:01:33SPEAKER_03: Um, the game's also at 330.
- 1:01:35SPEAKER_03: It's not gonna be a night game in the swamp.
- 1:01:36SPEAKER_03: So there will be a little bit, a little bit less juice in the in the building, and floor's not good.
- 1:01:40SPEAKER_03: I mean, I'm not sure how rapid a five and five Florida uh fan base is.
- 1:01:46SPEAKER_03: Um, so and if Lagway's not playing, I got no, I've no doubt that my LC Tigers can take care of this.
- 1:01:54SPEAKER_03: All right, we're taking LC minus four and a half.
- 1:01:55SPEAKER_03: I usually don't like bent on my squad, but we're doing it.
- 1:01:57SPEAKER_03: Um all right, cool.
- 1:01:58SPEAKER_03: Uh last one uh is I your number six uh UT fighting volunteers at number 11, Georgia.
- 1:02:07SPEAKER_03: This spread has moved.
- 1:02:08SPEAKER_03: It was minus eight, now it's minus 10 and a half.
- 1:02:11SPEAKER_03: That must be something about Nico.
- 1:02:13SPEAKER_03: I'm assuming the about as the the unknown over is 48 and a half.
- 1:02:17SPEAKER_03: I'm assuming game day is gonna be there.
- 1:02:19SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 1:02:20SPEAKER_03: Game day is gonna be there.
- 1:02:21SPEAKER_03: Um, I'm gonna let you kind of drive this one, but my only question for you, and we already talked about is Nico.
- 1:02:26SPEAKER_03: Is is Nico a go or is he not?
- 1:02:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't think we'll know that, but I I think all sources right now, uh, and again, concussions can be tricky.
- 1:02:35SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, all sources are trending in the right direction for him.
- 1:02:38SPEAKER_01: Um, it's a 10-point spread.
- 1:02:39SPEAKER_01: So this one, you know, that seems like a lot of points for me in a what I think will be a very low-scoring defensive battle.
- 1:02:46SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, very run-heavy.
- 1:02:49SPEAKER_01: Olmus laid out the plan for how to defensively match up against Georgia.
- 1:02:56SPEAKER_01: And Tennessee has just as many horses on defense as Ole Miss does, if not more.
- 1:03:01SPEAKER_01: So I like the balls to go in there and keep it close, which a 10-point spread, that's an easy take for me.
- 1:03:07SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_01: Do I think the balls will win, can win?
- 1:03:10SPEAKER_01: I do think that they can.
- 1:03:11SPEAKER_01: I think this game ultimately will come down to the turnover battle.
- 1:03:14SPEAKER_01: If if um, you know, whoever's a quarterback for the balls can limit mistakes.
- 1:03:18SPEAKER_01: And if Carson Beck continues to be rattled, turn the ball over, get hit a lot, um, this could easily go Tennessee's way early with a couple turnovers.
- 1:03:29SPEAKER_01: What concerns me most about this game is not the matchup on paper.
- 1:03:32SPEAKER_01: If you just put this in a vacuum, I love the balls here.
- 1:03:34SPEAKER_01: I love the matchup on paper.
- 1:03:36SPEAKER_01: What concerns me is the fact that it's on the road at night in Athens, Georgia's coming off, a big loss, fighting for their playoff life.
- 1:03:44SPEAKER_01: I think it's gonna be a crazy atmosphere.
- 1:03:46SPEAKER_01: And I wonder how Tennessee's offensive line in particular handles that because they've had problems with that in the past.
- 1:03:53SPEAKER_01: The last few weeks, they've been much, much, much better.
- 1:03:56SPEAKER_01: They've they've limited mistakes, um, especially.
- 1:03:59SPEAKER_01: I mean, they've still had a few penalties, but they're limiting hits on the quarterback, limiting sacks, uh, and the run game has been solid.
- 1:04:06SPEAKER_01: So give me a fantastic defense and a fantastic run game.
- 1:04:10SPEAKER_01: If you hit a couple splash plays through the air, this could be a really nice game for the balls.
- 1:04:16SPEAKER_01: I just think Georgia's reeling a little bit, and I know that atmosphere is gonna kind of kind of lift them up.
- 1:04:22SPEAKER_01: Um, but I don't know if they ride it the whole way through.
- 1:04:25SPEAKER_01: I think I think it I think the balls lean on them in the second half.
- 1:04:29SPEAKER_01: Um, so yeah, this is an easy take for me on this as far as the spread goes, but I do think the balls can go in there and actually win the game.
- 1:04:36SPEAKER_03: So I like what you said.
- 1:04:37SPEAKER_03: I I agree more or less with everything you said.
- 1:04:40SPEAKER_03: My hesitation is what version of Georgia is going to show up.
- 1:04:44SPEAKER_03: Um, because at their best, backs against the wall, the Alabama game, they looked awful and they and they lost, and then they went to Texas and where they were dominant.
- 1:04:54SPEAKER_03: So they lost an old miss.
- 1:04:56SPEAKER_03: Like, what version are we gonna get?
- 1:04:57SPEAKER_03: Carson Beck has had nine games this year, four of them have been objectively bad.
- 1:05:01SPEAKER_03: So he is a fifth, he's gone from a consensus number one top pick to a 50-50 at best.
- 1:05:07SPEAKER_03: What version of him is gonna show up?
- 1:05:09SPEAKER_03: And I just don't know.
- 1:05:10SPEAKER_03: So that's what gives me major hesitation about the spread.
- 1:05:13SPEAKER_03: I like what you said about the the script kind of being out on them, and I think you're right.
- 1:05:19SPEAKER_03: I think Tennessee can do a lot of the same things Ole Miss can do.
- 1:05:22SPEAKER_03: They can also run hurry up if they want to.
- 1:05:24SPEAKER_03: Tennessee has that in their toolbox and running the bejesus out of the ball, quick outs, um, playing sound defense, like that's all things Tennessee can do.
- 1:05:34SPEAKER_03: For that reason, I really like the under.
- 1:05:36SPEAKER_03: Um, so you could definitely talk me into that if you want to do under 48, under 48 and a half.
- 1:05:41SPEAKER_03: Um, I'm less confident about the spread just because, like I said, I just don't know what version George is gonna show up, but I'd I'd do the under or stay away if you if you might get you either either of those.
- 1:05:50SPEAKER_03: What do you think?
- 1:05:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they've shown themselves to be capable.
- 1:05:52SPEAKER_01: I think, you know, who's Carson Beck gonna be?
- 1:05:54SPEAKER_01: Uh he's got he's had like 12 or 13 turnovers in the last like five games or six games or something.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_01: Um, so yeah, I there's no doubt in my mind they're gonna come in focused.
- 1:06:04SPEAKER_01: They've obviously got a lot of talent.
- 1:06:05SPEAKER_01: Kirby knows what he's doing, and this is one of those situations, you know, if I'm if I'm an objective better, this is their balls are kind of walking into a little bit of a buzzall.
- 1:06:17SPEAKER_01: Um so that's what worries me.
- 1:06:18SPEAKER_01: Uh, I do like, you know, I kind of like the under.
- 1:06:21SPEAKER_01: Like I said, I think it's a I think it's a defensive struggle.
- 1:06:24SPEAKER_01: I think both teams kind of play conservatively, hope the other team makes a mistake or their defense makes a big play.
- 1:06:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:06:29SPEAKER_01: So I think this is gonna be a turnover-driven game.
- 1:06:32SPEAKER_01: You know, who if somebody no one's surviving this game with multiple turnovers, yeah.
- 1:06:37SPEAKER_01: Um, so yeah, I like the under.
- 1:06:38SPEAKER_01: I'm fine with that.
- 1:06:39SPEAKER_03: Okay, let's do, let's do, let's do the uh or or stay away.
- 1:06:41SPEAKER_03: We also just want to stay, one just stay away.
- 1:06:43SPEAKER_03: Something we're kind of a little wishy-washy.
- 1:06:45SPEAKER_03: All right, let's stay away.
- 1:06:46SPEAKER_03: We already got eight legs.
- 1:06:47SPEAKER_03: We're a little we're gonna stay away from that one.
- 1:06:50SPEAKER_03: Um, but I'm pulling for your vols.
- 1:06:51SPEAKER_03: All right, we got the Kansas money line, Tulane minus seven, Arkansas plus 13 and a half, uh, Utah, Colorado over 46 and a half, Nebraska plus eight and a half, Baylor minus two and a half, Oregon minus 14, uh, and LSU minus four and a half.
- 1:07:05SPEAKER_03: That's your eight-leg parlay.
- 1:07:06SPEAKER_03: Ten dollars wins you two thousand one hundred and twenty-six dollars.
- 1:07:12SPEAKER_03: That's a good one.
