- 2:34Speaker 3: It is not every day on the Big Time Radio
- 2:36Speaker 3: show here we get a visit for one of our sales.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Weasels here in the building, and with good reason. We
- 2:41Speaker 3: don't normally put them on the air because we prefer
- 2:44Speaker 3: to have them out selling to pay my bloated salary.
- 2:47Speaker 3: But today hearing for a treat because out of her
- 2:50Speaker 3: pen in the upstairs office that we call the fund Zone,
- 2:52Speaker 3: it's Bobby Spry.
- 2:53Speaker 5: How you doing I'm doing well. How are you, Dave?
- 2:55Speaker 3: I am doing fine. Why are you in my studio?
- 2:59Speaker 6: Oh?
- 2:59Speaker 5: Well, I really want to talk about Trigger beat today.
- 3:01Speaker 3: Trick or Beat? Do you want to tell the trigger
- 3:03Speaker 3: story or about there you go right ahead. So last week,
- 3:06Speaker 3: Miss Spry sends me a text and she said, can
- 3:10Speaker 3: I come on the show to talk about Trigger? Well
- 3:13Speaker 3: in the world of sales up there, and I'm surrounded
- 3:15Speaker 3: by all the weasels up there. I presume that Trigger
- 3:18Speaker 3: must be some sort of a new sales tool because
- 3:20Speaker 3: they all had these really cool names, and I thought, oh, okay,
- 3:23Speaker 3: it's some kind of a new sales tool that she
- 3:25Speaker 3: wants to talk about. So I go and I ask
- 3:28Speaker 3: the sales manager Sean, I say, Bobby wanted to come
- 3:31Speaker 3: on to talk about trigger, and then he responds, I
- 3:35Speaker 3: think she meant trick or beats. So how does trigger
- 3:40Speaker 3: then become trigger Beat?
- 3:41Speaker 5: I think we can all agree that we used talk
- 3:43Speaker 5: to text to save time, and that's what happened. And
- 3:47Speaker 5: of course I didn't proof read because I'm in a
- 3:49Speaker 5: sales weasel and not in your line of work.
- 3:51Speaker 3: So there we are all right, there you go, So
- 3:53Speaker 3: trick or Beat is coming back to the ballpark, Go
- 3:56Speaker 3: More Ballpark, and it will be when that's correct.
- 3:59Speaker 5: It's going to be two Tuesday, October the twenty eighth,
- 4:01Speaker 5: and this year marks the nineteenth annual celebration of this event,
- 4:05Speaker 5: all right, And.
- 4:05Speaker 3: For those and we'll have Woody on to talk about it.
- 4:07Speaker 3: But you're on for like a kind of a different
- 4:09Speaker 3: reason because we are, you know, we trying to get
- 4:11Speaker 3: sponsored for this thing. That's why I've got you on.
- 4:13Speaker 3: And you got some sponsorship we'll talk about. But for
- 4:15Speaker 3: those who aren't aware of what tricker beat is, why
- 4:17Speaker 3: don't you explain the whole concept?
- 4:19Speaker 7: Thank you.
- 4:19Speaker 5: I'm glad you asked, because in my world, I feel
- 4:22Speaker 5: like everyone knows about tricker Beat, but I have had
- 4:24Speaker 5: several people ask.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Me because it's been going on nineteen years nineteen years exactly.
- 4:28Speaker 5: And if you're entrenched in the community, you've participated in
- 4:31Speaker 5: tricker be at one point. But it's one of our
- 4:33Speaker 5: favorite community traditions. We bring together more than three thousand
- 4:36Speaker 5: families for a night of Halloween.
- 4:38Speaker 3: Funds three thousand, three thousand, three thousand people, and that's
- 4:43Speaker 3: why we do it in at least.
- 4:44Speaker 5: We have success. Okay, all right, go ahead, correct, good,
- 4:47Speaker 5: and it's just a fun night of Halloween. We keep
- 4:51Speaker 5: it safe. It's a well lit environment. You don't have
- 4:54Speaker 5: to worry about checking the candy when you get home
- 4:56Speaker 5: with the kids. In today's world, I feel like any
- 5:00Speaker 5: safety that we can provide for our children is greatly appreciated.
- 5:05Speaker 5: But right now, we have about thirteen local businesses who
- 5:07Speaker 5: have already signed on and we're hoping to add about
- 5:10Speaker 5: ten more to that.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Now, do you have a list of some of the
- 5:12Speaker 3: businesses or are we still putting that together right now?
- 5:14Speaker 5: We are still putting into Okay, all right.
- 5:16Speaker 3: But about thirteen how many? How many do we need
- 5:18Speaker 3: total to make this thing a success?
- 5:20Speaker 5: Around twenty twenty one?
- 5:21Speaker 3: Okay, so we got about eight ten slots available.
- 5:25Speaker 5: Yes, that's correct. And to me, one of the best
- 5:28Speaker 5: parts is watching business owners and their staff like come out, yeah,
- 5:32Speaker 5: dress up for Halloween, hand out candy.
- 5:34Speaker 3: So if we're not just at when we do this
- 5:36Speaker 3: over the ballpark, we're not just asking for you to do.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Businesses to write a check, we'll take that, but we
- 5:41Speaker 3: really would encourage the businesses to come and with their
- 5:45Speaker 3: employees and set up and you know it's you've got
- 5:47Speaker 3: a lot of space around the ballpark to do it in,
- 5:50Speaker 3: so they have a lot of fun as well.
- 5:52Speaker 5: They do. We've had we've had I think it was
- 5:54Speaker 5: White Insurance one year that dressed up their entire family
- 5:57Speaker 5: came and dressed up like Kiss, and then last year
- 6:01Speaker 5: the Capital Market came as the Sanderson Sisters. We just
- 6:05Speaker 5: really encourage that type of participation because the kids love
- 6:09Speaker 5: it and seeing them smile and be happy and know
- 6:12Speaker 5: that they're with their parents, They're in a safe, well
- 6:15Speaker 5: lit environment. We also provide pizza for the kids so
- 6:18Speaker 5: the families don't have to worry about cooking dinner that evening.
- 6:20Speaker 5: It is a great event for your business to be
- 6:23Speaker 5: tied to.
- 6:24Speaker 3: It is and you get a lot of advertising out
- 6:25Speaker 3: of explain you know, in addition to getting to wear
- 6:28Speaker 3: the costumes and in addition to helping out the community,
- 6:32Speaker 3: what's in it for them otherwise?
- 6:34Speaker 8: Well.
- 6:34Speaker 5: They are included in over two hundred of the promos
- 6:37Speaker 5: on our Beat station, one of seven point three the Beat.
- 6:40Speaker 5: They also comes with additional thirty second thirty commercials that
- 6:44Speaker 5: they can use anytime in the month of October. We
- 6:47Speaker 5: have their logo included on our web page and on
- 6:50Speaker 5: our Facebook page and then we provide table space the
- 6:53Speaker 5: night of the event for them to pass out candy,
- 6:55Speaker 5: also pass out any type of material that you literature, brochures,
- 7:01Speaker 5: and we have dnnis who come and bring toothbrushes for
- 7:03Speaker 5: the kids.
- 7:04Speaker 9: Swag swag.
- 7:06Speaker 5: Yes, and it's a fun filled event. It is.
- 7:10Speaker 3: Indeed, we're talking to Bobby Spry again. It's nine to
- 7:12Speaker 3: fourteen Dave Allen showing five eighty Live Oddly enough, brought
- 7:15Speaker 3: to you in part by your hometown baseball team, The Charles,
- 7:17Speaker 3: the Dirty Birds, the Selango Law Light. The Night's returning
- 7:20Speaker 3: to Go Ballpark November twenty first through January first. Get
- 7:23Speaker 3: your tickets in advance by visiting Dblightthnight dot com. And
- 7:26Speaker 3: when we say that these that they get these commercials
- 7:28Speaker 3: you know, promos is what we call them. But they
- 7:30Speaker 3: can also get I mean their name will be listed
- 7:33Speaker 3: on those on those on the promo that we call it,
- 7:35Speaker 3: you know, it's brought to you by so and so.
- 7:37Speaker 3: But they also get commercials that they can run to
- 7:39Speaker 3: actually sell their stuff at some point, right.
- 7:41Speaker 5: Yes, yeap thirty second thirty commercials in the month of
- 7:44Speaker 5: October they can use to whether it's highlighting an event
- 7:48Speaker 5: they're having, or just a general services commercial. It's we
- 7:52Speaker 5: want to make it beneficial, a mutually beneficial, a partnership
- 7:56Speaker 5: for all of us.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Now is it like is its specific? Like you know
- 8:01Speaker 3: you're only going to like exclusive? Are you only going
- 8:03Speaker 3: to have one car dealership or one clothing store or
- 8:05Speaker 3: one supermarket or whatever? Do you do any kind of exclusivity?
- 8:10Speaker 5: Not for this event, we want everyone to come. We
- 8:14Speaker 5: invite politicians, law offices, dental offices.
- 8:17Speaker 3: Okay, you said one of the keywords, they're politicians because
- 8:21Speaker 3: they're going to be this is an off year, but
- 8:23Speaker 3: in twenty twenty six we've already had people. Now we
- 8:26Speaker 3: don't here's what we We don't mind them setting up.
- 8:28Speaker 3: We don't want them giving stump speeches, you know anything correct?
- 8:32Speaker 5: And honestly, the people I vote for I want to
- 8:34Speaker 5: see them at every community event, not the ones that
- 8:37Speaker 5: benefit them and the numbers in the right.
- 8:39Speaker 3: So if you're a perspective politician, you're going to be
- 8:41Speaker 3: running for office next year'd be a great opportunity to
- 8:43Speaker 3: get out in front of it. And even if you're
- 8:45Speaker 3: not running, I mean, just an opportunity for you to
- 8:47Speaker 3: get out in front of your constituents and you know,
- 8:49Speaker 3: hand out stuff.
- 8:50Speaker 5: And see that you're giving back to the community, you're
- 8:52Speaker 5: engaging them, you're meeting them where they are.
- 8:54Speaker 3: It's a photo Everything to me is a photo op,
- 8:57Speaker 3: you know. But anyway, all right, so talk prices.
- 9:00Speaker 5: What are we talking about here as far as sponsorship, Yeah,
- 9:03Speaker 5: concern our general sponsorship is nine ninety. Now that gets
- 9:09Speaker 5: you the inclusion in the two hundred promos, the thirty
- 9:12Speaker 5: thirty second commercials, the logo on our website, on our
- 9:16Speaker 5: Facebook page, the table space event. And then also a
- 9:22Speaker 5: portion of those funds go to buy candy that we
- 9:24Speaker 5: distribute for the kids, because a lot of vendors end
- 9:27Speaker 5: up running out of candy that night.
- 9:28Speaker 3: And so I've seen it happen.
- 9:30Speaker 5: It happens every time. And so we load these kids
- 9:33Speaker 5: up right at the very beginning.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Of their walk, and I'll say, and again we'll be
- 9:37Speaker 3: talking about a lot more before we get there as
- 9:39Speaker 3: far as the logistics go. But we'll get over there
- 9:42Speaker 3: at you know what time does it start at the
- 9:44Speaker 3: first sessions?
- 9:44Speaker 5: First sessions at six pm.
- 9:46Speaker 3: At six pm. We'll get over there about four three
- 9:48Speaker 3: thirty four and start setting up we'll already have people.
- 9:51Speaker 3: There's a line in line, there is, I mean the
- 9:53Speaker 3: line goes all the way down the street. And so
- 9:58Speaker 3: we also could use volunteer, I mean, to come out
- 10:01Speaker 3: and help out. I mean, our staff is great and
- 10:03Speaker 3: this is a promotion of the Beat, but we don't
- 10:07Speaker 3: we don't say what's a beat. We're not going to
- 10:09Speaker 3: do that, you know, I mean, or the Mountain or whatever.
- 10:12Speaker 3: I mean, we're all going to be there from the Mountain,
- 10:14Speaker 3: from KWS, from the Beat, We're all there's all hands
- 10:17Speaker 3: on deck for us salespeople, you know, engineers, whatever. But
- 10:21Speaker 3: if somebody is out there listening and they said I
- 10:24Speaker 3: would just like to volunteer, maybe I'm a one person
- 10:27Speaker 3: business and I don't want to hand out. I just
- 10:29Speaker 3: want we'll find a spot for you.
- 10:31Speaker 5: Yeah, that's right. We do have a lot of need
- 10:33Speaker 5: when it comes when some of these sponsors come in
- 10:35Speaker 5: helping set up the booths, taking them to the location
- 10:39Speaker 5: where they're a sign, and then helping distribute pizza to
- 10:43Speaker 5: the kids at the evening. We really welcome everyone to
- 10:46Speaker 5: come out to this event.
- 10:48Speaker 3: All right, So again your business right now, this is
- 10:51Speaker 3: a great, great opportunity because not only are the folks
- 10:55Speaker 3: going to see you out there? It's fun. We'll start
- 10:57Speaker 3: with the fun aspect. You get the dress up, you
- 10:59Speaker 3: get down to the businesses have to provide their own candy.
- 11:01Speaker 5: They do have to provide their own can't they have to.
- 11:03Speaker 3: Provide their own candy? Yes, all right, So you get
- 11:06Speaker 3: an opportunity to dress up to hand out candy to
- 11:09Speaker 3: the kids. Very very visible. Again, three thousand people are
- 11:13Speaker 3: going to see you. Three thousand families are going to
- 11:16Speaker 3: see you. In the two different sessions, you get the
- 11:20Speaker 3: mentions on the promos that run that says brought to
- 11:23Speaker 3: you by I brought to you by. But you also
- 11:25Speaker 3: get commercials to sell. If you're a NOTO dealer, you
- 11:28Speaker 3: also get commercials to sell the latest forward truck or
- 11:31Speaker 3: whatever the case may be, or to the drug store
- 11:33Speaker 3: or whatever the case may be.
- 11:34Speaker 5: That's right. There are a lot of businesses that I
- 11:36Speaker 5: talk to that don't necessarily need or want to do
- 11:41Speaker 5: any type of advertising, but they love philanthropic advertising.
- 11:45Speaker 3: You get a lot to.
- 11:46Speaker 5: Do community events like this, the backpack Attack, the Turkey Drop,
- 11:51Speaker 5: that we do anything that's community centered. This is definitely
- 11:54Speaker 5: one of those events that you want to attach your name.
- 11:56Speaker 3: To all right, So how do businesses get involved? What
- 11:59Speaker 3: do they need to do?
- 12:00Speaker 5: They can reach They can call here at caller stations here,
- 12:03Speaker 5: or they can email Sean Meyer at s E A
- 12:06Speaker 5: N dot M E Y E R at WV Radio,
- 12:12Speaker 5: and or you can message me on Facebook and I'll
- 12:14Speaker 5: direct the you to Sean. Whatever's easiest. If you know me,
- 12:17Speaker 5: you know how to reach me.
- 12:18Speaker 3: Everybody knows Bobby when you.
- 12:21Speaker 5: Live and work here your life. That tends to be
- 12:24Speaker 5: the case. It's not because I'm special. It's just a
- 12:26Speaker 5: small town.
- 12:26Speaker 3: It is a small town. All right. We'll have you
- 12:28Speaker 3: on again. And now I'm going to get Woody and
- 12:30Speaker 3: the others on, you know, as we get a little
- 12:31Speaker 3: bit closer. Give me the date and the times again.
- 12:33Speaker 5: It is October eight, twenty eighth. That's on a Tuesday.
- 12:37Speaker 5: It's going to be at Go Mart Ballpark with the
- 12:39Speaker 5: Dirty Birds. We'll have two sessions, one from six to
- 12:43Speaker 5: seven and then the second beginning at seven point thirty,
- 12:46Speaker 5: and we will have tickets available. Will announce that in
- 12:49Speaker 5: a couple of weeks and they will be picked up
- 12:50Speaker 5: here at.
- 12:50Speaker 3: Our station show. Because that's some very important thing they
- 12:53Speaker 3: have to have tickets and that's just for crowd control purposes.
- 12:56Speaker 3: The tickets are free, okay, but we have to have
- 13:00Speaker 3: some system where they get the tickets and they have
- 13:02Speaker 3: to have and we had an incident. I almost don't
- 13:04Speaker 3: want to mention this because it brings out the jerk
- 13:08Speaker 3: in me when I say this. Last year we had
- 13:10Speaker 3: some bad actors out there trying to sell free tickets.
- 13:13Speaker 3: They went online and we're saying trick or Beat is
- 13:17Speaker 3: because it does sell out.
- 13:19Speaker 5: It does.
- 13:19Speaker 3: Tricker Beat has sold out. Trick or Beat has sold out.
- 13:22Speaker 3: I got tickets and they were trying to There are
- 13:25Speaker 3: no tickets for sale. I know what he went on
- 13:26Speaker 3: a rampage about this last year. There are no tickets
- 13:29Speaker 3: for sale, but you do have to have the tickets,
- 13:31Speaker 3: and once we get the tickets in, we'll let you
- 13:33Speaker 3: know when to come and get them. They're free, but
- 13:35Speaker 3: just for crowd control purposes, we have to give you
- 13:37Speaker 3: a ticket.
- 13:38Speaker 5: Yeah, if you follow the Beat page on Facebook, we'll
- 13:41Speaker 5: announce it there on air and then a lot of
- 13:44Speaker 5: us will be sharing that out to the public.
- 13:46Speaker 3: Absolutely, Bobby spri I appreciate you being here. Thanks a lot,
- 13:48Speaker 3: Thank you so much. It is nine twenty one, but

- 14:31Speaker 11: Seasons are changing, the kids are back in school and
- 14:34Speaker 11: cooler weather is on the way, but one thing that
- 14:37Speaker 11: always remains consistent is the car buying experience at Walker's
- 14:41Speaker 11: Chevrolet in Nitro. You see, that's because Gene and Ryan
- 14:44Speaker 11: built their business the old fashioned way by making friends
- 14:48Speaker 11: There are no gimmicks or games at Walker, just honest,
- 14:51Speaker 11: fair deals, and the process at Walker is remarkably simple.

- 16:22Speaker 3: Sports Writers Association. How are you, my friend?
- 16:24Speaker 9: I'm good. Good morning to you.
- 16:26Speaker 3: Good morning do you too? I want to review the
- 16:27Speaker 3: sports weekend. As I mentioned at the top of the show, Jim,
- 16:30Speaker 3: not a good weekend for your boy here. You know, Saturday,
- 16:32Speaker 3: Marshall loses, WVU loses. Marshall loses even though they score
- 16:37Speaker 3: like one hundred points, they still lose. Georgia. You know
- 16:40Speaker 3: my Bulldogs been a fan since I was a kid.
- 16:43Speaker 3: My Bulldogs get beat for the first time at home
- 16:45Speaker 3: since twenty nineteen. I think it was something like that.
- 16:49Speaker 3: And then last night Dallas ties Green Bay. There should
- 16:53Speaker 3: be no ties in football ever, I mean, I don't
- 16:58Speaker 3: care what you have A dance off, you have a
- 17:00Speaker 3: fist fight, you know whatever there there there should never
- 17:03Speaker 3: be a tie. But I stayed up, watched the whole
- 17:05Speaker 3: thing twelve thirty last night, I think, or so yeah,
- 17:08Speaker 3: so I'm I'm running on fumes this morning, buddy. So
- 17:11Speaker 3: I'm not as young as I used to be, So
- 17:14Speaker 3: go ahead and good now, I was gonna say, but
- 17:16Speaker 3: the good news is the Reds are in the playoffs.
- 17:18Speaker 3: That's right, that's I want to talk about that a
- 17:20Speaker 3: little bit as well.
- 17:21Speaker 11: So let's time.
- 17:21Speaker 3: Want to start with WVU though, I mean I did
- 17:24Speaker 3: not attend the game. I was, I bet I watched
- 17:27Speaker 3: it at home and there were a very audible chants
- 17:30Speaker 3: of fire rich Rod fire rich Rod. Talking to a
- 17:34Speaker 3: mutual friend of ours earlier this morning, Speedy Bevans, you
- 17:38Speaker 3: know you hear my Metro sports all the time, and
- 17:39Speaker 3: he says, what did they expect was going to happen
- 17:42Speaker 3: with that? He was going to come in with eighty
- 17:45Speaker 3: new players and just say boom, We're we're gonna win
- 17:47Speaker 3: the Big twelve championship.
- 17:48Speaker 13: I mean, what did they expect? It's it's process. College
- 17:53Speaker 13: football is a lot different. As we all know, you're
- 17:56Speaker 13: gonna have to play the long game. I think wvu's
- 17:59Speaker 13: approaching in the right way and investing. I mean we've
- 18:02Speaker 13: heard over the last couple of weeks or months about
- 18:04Speaker 13: investing in the athletic program. I think that's gonna be
- 18:07Speaker 13: the way to go. You know, you're not gonna have
- 18:10Speaker 13: to worry.
- 18:11Speaker 9: You're not gonna have to focus on the twenty twenty
- 18:13Speaker 9: five season. You're gonna have to focus on the long game.
- 18:16Speaker 9: They're building a program. I mean, every college football program
- 18:21Speaker 9: is building itself all over again, so every year, every
- 18:24Speaker 9: many cases, every year. But I believe you have to
- 18:27Speaker 9: have your eye on the long term because you're gonna
- 18:30Speaker 9: have to have the facilities, you're gonna have to have
- 18:32Speaker 9: nil money, all that type of stuff, which w WU
- 18:35Speaker 9: is lining itself up to become a contender. You're in,
- 18:39Speaker 9: you're out because you know what, in a couple of years,
- 18:41Speaker 9: we could have one super conference and you want to
- 18:43Speaker 9: be in that. Thirty six ish teams that get in
- 18:47Speaker 9: that super conference have the ability to raise money and
- 18:50Speaker 9: have the facilities to compete.
- 18:52Speaker 3: You're a popular guy because we have a call for you.
- 18:56Speaker 3: You owe somebody money probably all right, bos, but from Charleston,
- 19:01Speaker 3: you're on with Jim Workman.
- 19:02Speaker 6: Go ahead, I want to ask gim where I can
- 19:05Speaker 6: get a copy of Wallis and Whimpies. I'm in the
- 19:08Speaker 6: Cistonville area, all right.
- 19:10Speaker 9: It is easier than ever to get a copy of
- 19:13Speaker 9: Wallis and Whimpies because it's not delivered in print anymore.
- 19:17Speaker 9: It's a daily digital product. It gets delivered to your
- 19:20Speaker 9: inbox every morning at about six thirty but sometime before
- 19:24Speaker 9: seven am you get the daily digital edition of Walies
- 19:27Speaker 9: and Whimpies. It's been a change, but you know, when
- 19:31Speaker 9: we do a print weekly edition, you know, we always
- 19:34Speaker 9: try to focus on the games ahead. We tried not
- 19:38Speaker 9: to recap, you know, the games that had just finished.
- 19:41Speaker 9: But you know, it gets out of date pretty soon
- 19:45Speaker 9: in print. It has to you have a deadline. Like
- 19:48Speaker 9: last year, we didn't get the Monday night games in.
- 19:51Speaker 9: As soon as the Monday Night games are over, we
- 19:53Speaker 9: get those in and it's delivered to your inbox. So
- 19:56Speaker 9: Wallywimpy sports dot com. You go on there and it'll
- 20:00Speaker 9: take you to the E edition and it's four dollars
- 20:03Speaker 9: a month. Four dollars a month, and it gets delivered
- 20:06Speaker 9: to your inbox. You can view it on your phone.
- 20:08Speaker 9: You can view it on your tablet, your laptop, your desktop.
- 20:12Speaker 9: You can print it out, take it with you. I
- 20:14Speaker 9: know people that do that, So whatever however you want
- 20:17Speaker 9: to do it. It's a daily digital.
- 20:19Speaker 6: Now is there not a hard copy at all.
- 20:23Speaker 9: Unless you have a xerox. Don't you print it out?
- 20:26Speaker 14: No?
- 20:27Speaker 9: Right now, there is not. We may do some special
- 20:31Speaker 9: edition print editions in the future, but for right now,
- 20:34Speaker 9: it gets delivered directly to your inbox.
- 20:38Speaker 6: Well, we're old people that we're one hundred years behind
- 20:44Speaker 6: in technology, and I'm blind, and I just wanted a
- 20:50Speaker 6: hard copies so my wife could read all of the
- 20:53Speaker 6: scores to them. Right now. I'm a college football fan,
- 20:58Speaker 6: but right now I don't know any scores of anybody
- 21:01Speaker 6: because the Charleston because as loud as he is is,
- 21:05Speaker 6: it doesn't print all the scorers anymore. So I guess
- 21:08Speaker 6: I'm kind of between a rock and heart place. Thanks you,
- 21:12Speaker 6: jam all right.
- 21:13Speaker 9: Bob, Well, one thing I will address is about Wallies
- 21:16Speaker 9: and whimpies. That's unique is every team, every FBS team
- 21:21Speaker 9: is in there the schedule and results in all the NFL.
- 21:24Speaker 9: I mean, it's really rare to get that. If you
- 21:27Speaker 9: think back to the Sporting News back when we were
- 21:30Speaker 9: growing up. It's kind of like that in Mad Magazine.
- 21:34Speaker 3: You know what I mean, combination of Sporting News and
- 21:36Speaker 3: Mad Magazine got the.
- 21:37Speaker 9: Goofy guys on the front. It's got sporting news.
- 21:39Speaker 3: That's a pretty good way to do it. We're talking
- 21:41Speaker 3: to Jim Workman, all right, so let's let's move on
- 21:44Speaker 3: to the big red machine. Yes, let's talk about it. Well,
- 21:48Speaker 3: did we finish up on WV What do you think
- 21:50Speaker 3: of the stadium being named? It was announced on I
- 21:53Speaker 3: guess Thursday Friday that Hope Gas was going to be
- 21:55Speaker 3: the corporate sponsor. It's going to be now known as
- 21:57Speaker 3: the Hope Coliseum. They dropped the gas from so it's
- 22:00Speaker 3: just going to be the Hope College scene. I for
- 22:01Speaker 3: what I understand programming know, we're gonna have the CEO
- 22:04Speaker 3: of Hope Gas on Metro News midday today, So during
- 22:07Speaker 3: the twelve o'clock hour, I think, what do you think
- 22:10Speaker 3: about that?
- 22:10Speaker 9: You know, the success of West Virginia Athletics has a
- 22:14Speaker 9: direct effect on the state of West Virginia. I mean,
- 22:18Speaker 9: let's face it, it's an investment. You know, people come in
- 22:22Speaker 9: every weekend. It's a tourist attraction. It's a money maker.
- 22:27Speaker 9: I mean, I have no problem with investing. You know,
- 22:30Speaker 9: somebody's going to give you ten million and you just
- 22:32Speaker 9: hang a sign up or one hundred million or twenty
- 22:35Speaker 9: million or whatever it is, and you hang a sign up.
- 22:37Speaker 9: That's that's smort business. And that's how sports has to be.
- 22:41Speaker 9: It's West Virginia.
- 22:42Speaker 3: It's a necessity now. And you know, and TJ writes
- 22:45Speaker 3: a great commentary about it today, by the way, and
- 22:47Speaker 3: people will say, well, it's always going to be called
- 22:49Speaker 3: the college. We can call it whatever you want. You
- 22:51Speaker 3: don't have to give the complete title everything. You can
- 22:53Speaker 3: still call it, you know. I mean in Charleston, folks
- 22:56Speaker 3: at Gomart took over the ownership of the of the
- 22:58Speaker 3: Gomart Ballpark a cup years ago. You can still call
- 23:01Speaker 3: it the ballpark. They're not going to come out there
- 23:02Speaker 3: after you or anything.
- 23:04Speaker 4: Uh.
- 23:04Speaker 3: But it's it's a necessity now. I mean, it's it is.
- 23:07Speaker 3: It is what it is. And you know, we don't
- 23:10Speaker 3: we don't see it as much at at Marshall. That's coming.
- 23:14Speaker 3: It's gonna happen. It's gonna happen at every at every
- 23:16Speaker 3: college at some point because when you get into nils.
- 23:19Speaker 3: It's it's it's a I don't want to say it's
- 23:21Speaker 3: an evil necessity, but you got to do it. You
- 23:25Speaker 3: have to have it. You you do not survive and
- 23:27Speaker 3: you do not compete without corporate dollars. That's that's just
- 23:29Speaker 3: the way it is. That's right, all right. So the
- 23:34Speaker 3: Reds the Reds, they lost, but because the Mets lost,
- 23:39Speaker 3: the Reds are in the playoffs, right.
- 23:40Speaker 9: Yeah, Well, I mean it was a long season. Actually,
- 23:43Speaker 9: you have to go back to Midsummer when the Reds
- 23:47Speaker 9: beat the Mets two games out of three in their series.
- 23:50Speaker 9: That was actually the reason why they won the tie breaker.
- 23:54Speaker 9: So even though they both lost, you go back to
- 23:57Speaker 9: that series and that's why they won, so game matters
- 24:00Speaker 9: in the one hundred and sixty two. You know, the
- 24:03Speaker 9: Reds a lot of hope for them going into the season.
- 24:08Speaker 9: I know we were excited as the caravan came through
- 24:11Speaker 9: and a lot of young talent, Terry Francona coming in.
- 24:14Speaker 9: He kind of felt, well, they may be a year away,
- 24:16Speaker 9: but stranger things have happened in the last ten years.
- 24:20Speaker 9: Who would have expected the Kansas City Royals to win
- 24:23Speaker 9: the Nationals? The Rangers two years ago. I mean, the
- 24:28Speaker 9: fact that they're playing the Dodgers concerns me because you know,
- 24:32Speaker 9: the front three pitchers for the Dodgers are pretty much unstoppable.
- 24:37Speaker 9: Blake Snell, Yamamoto and Otani have been kind of unstoppable
- 24:41Speaker 9: as pitchers. But anything can happen. If the Reds are
- 24:45Speaker 9: to win, it's going to be a two to one,
- 24:46Speaker 9: three to two game, and they have to have timely hitting.
- 24:49Speaker 9: You know, the Reds did not have a batter that
- 24:52Speaker 9: hit over two seventy this year. They didn't have a
- 24:55Speaker 9: batter that hit twenty five home runs this year. It's
- 24:59Speaker 9: a truly a team oriented organization, and uh, you know,
- 25:03Speaker 9: they're gonna have to have a little luck. They're gonna
- 25:05Speaker 9: have to have some clutch hits and some some good pitching.
- 25:08Speaker 3: Who's your overall favorite to win the whole thing?
- 25:11Speaker 9: I mean, I mean, if if the Reds don't get
- 25:16Speaker 9: past the Dodgers, the Dodgers are gonna win it again.
- 25:19Speaker 3: Do you think so?
- 25:20Speaker 9: I think so. They've got the pitching, they've they're stacked.
- 25:22Speaker 9: I mean, they're just unbelievable.
- 25:24Speaker 3: Okay, all right, what about an American league looking at Toronto?
- 25:27Speaker 9: Uh, you know, the Yankees probably gonna, you know, be
- 25:31Speaker 9: in there. I mean, yeah, Toronto could do it. I mean,
- 25:36Speaker 9: I don't I don't know about the American I think
- 25:38Speaker 9: the American League is going to be a toss up.
- 25:41Speaker 9: I mean, whoever gets hot in the American League is
- 25:44Speaker 9: gonna be in the series and they're gonna have to
- 25:46Speaker 9: face the Dodgers.
- 25:46Speaker 3: All right, So what's wrong with your Cleveland Browns? You
- 25:50Speaker 3: and Sean Meyer and my brother in law Ron and
- 25:52Speaker 3: uh and Amanda, I mean, what's uh.
- 25:54Speaker 9: Well, it's time to it's time to throw in the
- 25:57Speaker 9: towel with Flacco.
- 25:58Speaker 3: I mean, you know, yeah, I mean you got left though.
- 26:02Speaker 3: I mean because they're all hurt, right, I mean they
- 26:04Speaker 3: are or inexperience. Is Brian Sipe available? Could you go
- 26:07Speaker 3: get him?
- 26:07Speaker 9: I'd love to have Brian Sipe. Yeah, another Brian Sipe
- 26:10Speaker 9: or Bernie Cozar. But you're probably gonna have to throw
- 26:14Speaker 9: one of the rookies in there. I mean, if Joe
- 26:16Speaker 9: Flacco is going to throw two interceptions, are you going
- 26:19Speaker 9: to get upset with Shador Sanders or Dylan Gabriel for
- 26:22Speaker 9: throwing two interceptions? Get him some playing time?
- 26:24Speaker 3: Yeah? All right, going back to the Mountaineers. Before we
- 26:28Speaker 3: let you go. They got a Friday night game this
- 26:30Speaker 3: week there BYU. And that's what is a ten thirty
- 26:32Speaker 3: start or something like that.
- 26:34Speaker 9: Short turnaround BYU. The Cougars have not really played anybody
- 26:38Speaker 9: this year. It's really hard to judge what kind of
- 26:41Speaker 9: team they have. So you know, we cope the Mountaineers

- 29:57Speaker 3: Tex says dave A. While I was at the game
- 30:00Speaker 3: on Saturday, didn't hear any calls for fire rich Rod
- 30:02Speaker 3: where I was? Did you hear it on the TV broadcast?
- 30:05Speaker 3: I heard it on the TV broadcast. Now, it could
- 30:07Speaker 3: have been just a couple of guys standing around close
- 30:08Speaker 3: to the microphone. I'm not saying the whole crowd was
- 30:10Speaker 3: doing it, but it was very audible on the TV broadcast.
- 30:13Speaker 3: And the text goes on to say, just wondering what
- 30:15Speaker 3: people were expecting in the true rebuilding year. Well, you
- 30:17Speaker 3: know how sports fans can be, whether the Mountaineers or
- 30:20Speaker 3: anybody else. They want it, and they want it turned
- 30:22Speaker 3: around now, and it's not going to be the year.
- 30:25Speaker 3: Tex says, well, Sinclair cave, they're airing Kimmel again. I'm
- 30:28Speaker 3: happy they took the mask off for that brief moment
- 30:30Speaker 3: to show what they really are a tool for right
- 30:33Speaker 3: wing propaganda. Tex says, is Dave getting upset at people
- 30:36Speaker 3: making money from free tickets? Is Dave getting mad at
- 30:39Speaker 3: the market and at capitalism. I thought you were a
- 30:41Speaker 3: capitalist making money off free tickets that have a demand
- 30:44Speaker 3: is pure unadulterated capitalists. That's some things are just so stupid.
- 30:52Speaker 17: How are their right wing? If they put Kimmel back
- 30:55Speaker 17: on the air, how does that make them right?
- 30:57Speaker 3: Well? I think that they I don't I don't really know. Well,
- 31:04Speaker 3: I mean, sint.
- 31:04Speaker 17: Clair, I think there's some merger activity going on, That's exactly.
- 31:08Speaker 17: And I think that they're afraid of that FCC guy. Yeah,
- 31:11Speaker 17: I think that's what that was all.
- 31:12Speaker 3: That's exactly what it was about with them and and
- 31:14Speaker 3: Next Star as well. Sinclair's who air is it here?
- 31:16Speaker 3: As locally, We're just happy that people know when all
- 31:19Speaker 3: the all the hoopla was going on about Kimmel last week,
- 31:22Speaker 3: and they were they were blowing up poor Tracy out
- 31:25Speaker 3: here out front that we are not w c HS Television.
- 31:27Speaker 3: We are not affiliated with them and any and we
- 31:29Speaker 3: love them, don't get me wrong, we're all great friends.
- 31:31Speaker 3: But I remember remember when we were just last week,
- 31:36Speaker 3: and I mean people on our Facebook page and whatever,
- 31:38Speaker 3: and I'll never watch you. I mean, this is my theory.
- 31:41Speaker 3: I'll never watch your station again. Well you never watch
- 31:43Speaker 3: it to begin with, unless you're downloaded the Metro News
- 31:46Speaker 3: television happen you're watching Metro News program anyway. U want
- 31:51Speaker 3: to start on a bit of a sad note today,
- 31:54Speaker 3: have something to tell us.
- 31:55Speaker 17: The plumbing went out at the restaurant, and the expense
- 32:02Speaker 17: that I would have had to incur to have fixed
- 32:05Speaker 17: it was just too much to overwhelm to overcome. So
- 32:09Speaker 17: we we've closed the restaurant.
- 32:11Speaker 3: Is this a permanent thing?
- 32:13Speaker 17: Yeah? Yeah, yeah, Well.
- 32:15Speaker 3: I hate that, Danny, because I mean you, you know,
- 32:18Speaker 3: we had you, and we had to bj on a
- 32:20Speaker 3: couple of years and now I'm just saying it seemed
- 32:23Speaker 3: like you were off to a really good start. I
- 32:25Speaker 3: was down there the second day you open, took some
- 32:27Speaker 3: food home, and as great as it always is, but
- 32:29Speaker 3: it's business, you.
- 32:30Speaker 17: Know, yeah it is, and it's I know I'm just
- 32:37Speaker 17: I don't want to think too much about Okay, makes
- 32:40Speaker 17: me sad.
- 32:41Speaker 3: All right, But we do want to say that the restaurant,
- 32:45Speaker 3: Danny's Barbecue, it's closed. The second run is closed. It's
- 32:49Speaker 3: not going to and it's not going to reopen now, okay,
- 32:52Speaker 3: all right? Well not so what do you do with
- 32:54Speaker 3: the all your stuff and there? You're still to leave
- 32:55Speaker 3: your stuff up up there?
- 32:57Speaker 17: Well it's been, That's where it's been.
- 32:59Speaker 3: I know it's what I'm saying, But I mean I
- 33:01Speaker 3: always told you that what you should do is and
- 33:03Speaker 3: maybe you did do this. I'm busy and I don't
- 33:05Speaker 3: get to come hang out anymore. But I have always
- 33:08Speaker 3: said what you should do is just go down there
- 33:10Speaker 3: and just set up shop every day and have people
- 33:13Speaker 3: come in and talk to you.
- 33:15Speaker 17: I might open up a bookstore there.
- 33:16Speaker 3: You go and only sell one book. That's the only
- 33:20Speaker 3: book you're going to sell when that thing eight by
- 33:22Speaker 3: ten glosses and you know.
- 33:24Speaker 17: So since we're talking about the book, I can give
- 33:27Speaker 17: you a little tidbit, all right. In nineteen seventy two,
- 33:32Speaker 17: I mean I got back from Marshall in June of
- 33:36Speaker 17: seventy two, I Dug Graves all that summer and we
- 33:41Speaker 17: had the garbage strike and I went to work for
- 33:45Speaker 17: Tyler Mount Water Company, de Liver and Bottle of water.
- 33:49Speaker 17: I drank every day. I drank alcohol every day until
- 33:56Speaker 17: my stomach started giving me trouble. It was a burning
- 34:00Speaker 17: and it wouldn't stop burning. And people say, well, you've
- 34:04Speaker 17: got an allstro you've got this, you've got that. Drink milk,
- 34:09Speaker 17: and milk didn't help it at milk. The only thing
- 34:15Speaker 17: milk did was make me fat. But the pain, the
- 34:19Speaker 17: kind of burned sensation that you got was were hunger paints.
- 34:24Speaker 17: That's what it felt like. And I'd eat and it
- 34:27Speaker 17: get worse. And so about March of seventy three, I
- 34:34Speaker 17: didn't detail all this in the book, but a young
- 34:37Speaker 17: lady said, you've got to try marijuana, and so I
- 34:44Speaker 17: smoked some pat with some pot and the pain went away.
- 34:49Speaker 17: And that's that's how I started smoking marijuana. And it
- 34:55Speaker 17: would help me. Like when I I went to work
- 35:00Speaker 17: at the athletic club. I'd get off work and I
- 35:04Speaker 17: was all nervous and everything, and I was burning. You know,
- 35:07Speaker 17: it was burning all I do. I didn't do it
- 35:09Speaker 17: to get high. I did it just to start go
- 35:11Speaker 17: to sleep. So that's how I started. Okay, So, so
- 35:16Speaker 17: is that too much interest? No, it's not just you
- 35:19Speaker 17: didn't do this way, you were sheriffed you. No, I
- 35:21Speaker 17: was seventy I was twenty two years old.
- 35:23Speaker 3: Okay, this is my younger life.
- 35:24Speaker 17: I was twenty two years old.
- 35:25Speaker 3: Okay. And there was a stigma I think at that
- 35:28Speaker 3: time around marijuana that is not I mean in certain
- 35:33Speaker 3: circles there's still a stigma around it. But now that
- 35:35Speaker 3: we have medicinal marijuana, we got dispensaries and so on
- 35:37Speaker 3: and so forth, I don't think that it's it's as
- 35:40Speaker 3: big a taboo thing, is what it was in eighteen
- 35:42Speaker 3: seventy three.
- 35:45Speaker 17: Well, first thing, from what I understand, the pot they
- 35:50Speaker 17: have now is so much strong.
- 35:52Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I've heard.
- 35:52Speaker 17: I mean, I have a I have an experiment with it,
- 35:57Speaker 17: having smoked in forty five years. But forty five and
- 36:09Speaker 17: it we were going through a time back and then,
- 36:14Speaker 17: I mean Jerry Rubin let up a joint on the
- 36:17Speaker 17: PHILADNOI show. I mean marijuana was being smoked on the streets, right,
- 36:25Speaker 17: So it was it was not treated as a crime
- 36:31Speaker 17: unless you had a bushel of it.
- 36:34Speaker 3: Well, and here's my only issue with it.
- 36:36Speaker 15: Now.
- 36:36Speaker 3: I believe people are free to danny to do whatever
- 36:39Speaker 3: they want to do. My only issue is is that
- 36:42Speaker 3: in areas where marijuana is legal, and I'll give you a
- 36:46Speaker 3: good example forr Ginia Beach is one of those.
- 36:47Speaker 15: Here.
- 36:48Speaker 3: My wife and I go to Virginia Beach frequently. You
- 36:50Speaker 3: cannot smoke a paco. You can't. And I don't smoke anything,
- 36:54Speaker 3: by the way, but you can't smoke a Marlborough in
- 36:57Speaker 3: a place. But people think it's okay to fire up
- 36:59Speaker 3: a joint. I mean, it's smoke as smoke for real. Yeah, yeah,
- 37:03Speaker 3: I mean it's not Uh, it's not uncommon. I mean
- 37:06Speaker 3: I can tell you in one hotel room that we
- 37:08Speaker 3: were staying in on the beach people, I don't think
- 37:11Speaker 3: that people ever went out on the beach because they
- 37:14Speaker 3: were directly below us. All the smoke was coming up.
- 37:17Speaker 3: And you can't do that with cigarette, So why should
- 37:19Speaker 3: you be allowed to do that with marijuana. That's my
- 37:21Speaker 3: only that's my only.
- 37:22Speaker 18: Uh.
- 37:24Speaker 3: And as far as me smoking pot, uh, I don't
- 37:27Speaker 3: need anything to make me eat any more than I
- 37:29Speaker 3: already do. So I'm good. I'm good on that front.
- 37:32Speaker 3: But Dave Island showing five Any Live is brought to
- 37:34Speaker 3: you part by Jute j o ot Security System as
- 37:37Speaker 3: a protected by Jude dot com or check them out
- 37:39Speaker 3: on Facebook. We had a text here says he ever
- 37:41Speaker 3: considered doing a food truck?
- 37:43Speaker 17: No, I'm, I'm I'm kind.
- 37:46Speaker 3: Of Have you ever done anything like a food truck
- 37:49Speaker 3: or mobo?
- 37:50Speaker 5: You?
- 37:50Speaker 17: No? Never need a lot? Yeah I catered a lot, But.
- 37:53Speaker 3: Would you still cater for people if they if they
- 37:55Speaker 3: called you?
- 37:56Speaker 17: I mean, yeah, I don't have a license. I do
- 37:59Speaker 17: it through somebody. I've called chef Paul or somebody and
- 38:02Speaker 17: say you want to do this, we'll go and have
- 38:05Speaker 17: I'll now, I'll cook the ribs and you do the
- 38:07Speaker 17: rest or whatever, well something are called you know Martin
- 38:11Speaker 17: over there at Sohoes, or get somebody else to do it.
- 38:15Speaker 3: All right, So let's go national here for a moment.
- 38:18Speaker 3: The Komy situation, in your opinion.
- 38:22Speaker 17: Dead won't go anywhere. It's the first thing in that
- 38:27Speaker 17: particular venue and Alexandria where President Trump got twenty percent
- 38:34Speaker 17: of the vote. The jury pool is going to kill
- 38:37Speaker 17: this thing if it gets that far. But I think
- 38:40Speaker 17: the government misconduct is going to it's going to haunt him.
- 38:46Speaker 17: I don't know who the judge is who appointed him,
- 38:49Speaker 17: so maybe i'm speaking out of turn. If it's a
- 38:52Speaker 17: Trump judge, then maybe he'll let it go to trial.
- 38:55Speaker 17: But Comy, the only thing Comy's going to have to
- 38:57Speaker 17: do is spend money on lawyers. He was a leaker.
- 39:01Speaker 17: He was a big time leaker.
- 39:02Speaker 3: Yeah, he got caught up in that. I mean, I
- 39:04Speaker 3: don't think that could be denying.
- 39:05Speaker 17: He admitted that under oath. He admitted it.
- 39:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 39:08Speaker 17: Yeah, But and somebody lied, either he or Andrew McCabe lied.
- 39:14Speaker 17: But that doesn't matter. The truth in this thing doesn't matter,
- 39:18Speaker 17: you know. And in the state case against Trump, Leticia
- 39:23Speaker 17: James said he was too male and too pale.
- 39:29Speaker 3: That a direct quote.
- 39:31Speaker 17: That's when she was running for all right. Yeah, she
- 39:34Speaker 17: ran to prosecute him.
- 39:36Speaker 3: Yeah that she made no secrets about that.
- 39:39Speaker 17: In the States, you can get away with that, right
- 39:41Speaker 17: the Federals, in the federal government, I don't think you
- 39:44Speaker 17: can say something.
- 39:45Speaker 3: Does it trouble you, Danny when you hear and they
- 39:47Speaker 3: can deny it all they want. But let's face it.
- 39:49Speaker 3: I mean, Donald Trump is he's a very vindictive person.
- 39:53Speaker 3: He was a very vindictive person. And people will tell
- 39:55Speaker 3: you this well before he got into politics. That's just
- 39:58Speaker 3: his nature. He's a tough New Yorker, okay. And it
- 40:00Speaker 3: served him well on certain fronts and not served him
- 40:03Speaker 3: so well on other fronts. Is this just a case
- 40:05Speaker 3: of retribution because this won't I mean he said it
- 40:07Speaker 3: last week, he said this won't. There'll be many more
- 40:10Speaker 3: to come, of.
- 40:12Speaker 17: Course, of course it is. You know Howard Schultz, you
- 40:15Speaker 17: know who he is, the guy started at Starbucks. He
- 40:19Speaker 17: had a town hall, Fox News town hall and he
- 40:22Speaker 17: was thinking about running for president, and he said they
- 40:27Speaker 17: asked him what he thought about Trump. He said, well,
- 40:31Speaker 17: I like a lot of his policies, but I'd like
- 40:34Speaker 17: to see somebody in here raise their hand and tell
- 40:39Speaker 17: me that they want their kids to emulate his behavior.
- 40:44Speaker 17: And nobody raised their hand. And this is a Fox
- 40:47Speaker 17: News town hall.
- 40:49Speaker 3: So where else does it go beyond comby? You think,
- 40:52Speaker 3: because you don't, I think Comy's that nothing's going to
- 40:54Speaker 3: nothing's going to come from that.
- 40:56Speaker 17: Well, I mean it doesn't. The facts and the law
- 41:00Speaker 17: don't matter. That they'll come up with something. And you
- 41:05Speaker 17: know now they're they're sending the Marines into these into
- 41:09Speaker 17: these cities, which I think far, far exceeds their mission.
- 41:17Speaker 17: I guess the excuse they can use is they're protecting
- 41:22Speaker 17: federal property. And when people shoot these ice agents or
- 41:27Speaker 17: shoot into an ICE facility, maybe that gives them reason,
- 41:32Speaker 17: Maybe that gives them cover for what they're trying to do.
- 41:36Speaker 17: But we live in a world, I mean, Joe Manton
- 41:38Speaker 17: just wrote a book about it where the middle, the
- 41:43Speaker 17: mainstream of American politics doesn't make. It doesn't work, doesn't
- 41:49Speaker 17: it doesn't, it doesn't go, You can't make, it doesn't matter.
- 41:54Speaker 3: Is it possible? You know, Joe's is the eternal optimist.
- 41:59Speaker 3: Is it possible that we ever get back there?
- 42:02Speaker 17: No, not in my lifetime.
- 42:04Speaker 3: I agree, you know, and I'm a little bit younger
- 42:06Speaker 3: than you, but I agree.
- 42:07Speaker 17: It'll be, it'll get worse. And you know, there's something
- 42:11Speaker 17: good going on in Pennsylvania. There are politics up there
- 42:15Speaker 17: because they got three people. One is Fetterman, whose mainstream,
- 42:20Speaker 17: David McCormick senator conservative mainstream, and Josh Shapiro, who should
- 42:28Speaker 17: be in the should be in the White House. That's
- 42:29Speaker 17: you boy, right there, that's right. You loveapi. I do,
- 42:32Speaker 17: and he's a Democrat. I've never voted for a Democrat.
- 42:35Speaker 3: I think you said that on the show before. You've
- 42:36Speaker 3: never voted for.
- 42:37Speaker 17: I voted for the last three times I voted for You've.
- 42:41Speaker 3: Never voted for Democrats for president.
- 42:43Speaker 17: You have obviously contributed. Yeah, yeah, Now there are some
- 42:47Speaker 17: others that are good. This Governor Colorado is a Democrat,
- 42:51Speaker 17: but he's gay, so that won't work. And the Republican
- 42:57Speaker 17: governor of of Utah, who is a very good man.
- 43:05Speaker 17: He'd make a fine president. But these guys are mainstream.
- 43:08Speaker 3: He picked up a lot of points, I mean, in
- 43:10Speaker 3: a tragedy with that, with that situation in the in
- 43:13Speaker 3: the Kirk shooting.
- 43:14Speaker 17: And you know that he and he and the governor
- 43:17Speaker 17: of Colorado are.
- 43:19Speaker 3: They're great friends.
- 43:21Speaker 17: They are They work together on stuff despite the fact
- 43:24Speaker 17: that one's a Mormon and the other is married to
- 43:26Speaker 17: a man, you know. And it's I like to get
- 43:32Speaker 17: things done.
- 43:34Speaker 3: I think the times of of getting things done or
- 43:38Speaker 3: maybe behind us, because I don't see it. I don't
- 43:40Speaker 3: see it changing. And now you know the interesting thing
- 43:42Speaker 3: we'll say this will go to break one of the
- 43:43Speaker 3: interesting things here in the that I've noticed in the
- 43:45Speaker 3: West Virginia legislature and already, you know, for twenty twenty six,
- 43:48Speaker 3: people have already come on this show and announced that
- 43:50Speaker 3: they're running. We had one when you were on last week,
- 43:52Speaker 3: as a matter of fact, and uh, but people are
- 43:54Speaker 3: announcing that they're that they're running. And many of the
- 43:57Speaker 3: Republicans that are the City Republicans are saying, you have
- 44:01Speaker 3: to re elect me because we got to keep the
- 44:04Speaker 3: far right people out because there is a further right
- 44:10Speaker 3: than I mean I'm watching they're afraid of some of
- 44:13Speaker 3: the City Republicans are afraid of farther right people getting
- 44:18Speaker 3: at if that makes any sense, going.
- 44:19Speaker 17: No, no, no, you're right. I'm worried about, like I'm thinking
- 44:22Speaker 17: about Shelley who who will challenge her in the primary.
- 44:27Speaker 3: She's already got at least one or two and they're running,
- 44:32Speaker 3: calling Shelley Moore Capitol Rhino. That's why they're running. They're saying,
- 44:35Speaker 3: we've got to it's time for her to go.
- 44:37Speaker 17: Well, President Trump already.
- 44:39Speaker 3: Endorsed her, yeah, and that's so that should help her.

- 47:48Speaker 3: who is the Democratic socialistist forty three percent. Curtis Sliwa,
- 47:52Speaker 3: who runs every time you know, you know, formerly of
- 47:56Speaker 3: the Guardian Angels. In that group, he's at ten percent.
- 47:58Speaker 3: Cuomo Andrew Cuomo at twenty eight percent and he's running
- 48:02Speaker 3: as an independent now. Eric Adams was at seven percent
- 48:05Speaker 3: and he has dropped out after vowing that he wouldn't.
- 48:07Speaker 3: He says he's dropping out. You were on the show
- 48:11Speaker 3: a couple of months ago talking about mom Dommy, and
- 48:15Speaker 3: he's the front runner right now, and if I mean
- 48:16Speaker 3: a lot can change, he's probably gonna be the next
- 48:18Speaker 3: mayor of New York City.
- 48:21Speaker 17: I think it's funny and I'm for it. I listened
- 48:26Speaker 17: to George will the other night, and ever once in
- 48:28Speaker 17: a while, you didn't need to stir a socialists in
- 48:31Speaker 17: there just to prove to people how how bad it
- 48:33Speaker 17: will get if you're gonna, if you're if you're gonna
- 48:36Speaker 17: go that route.
- 48:38Speaker 3: I mean, isn't the you know, the being the mayor
- 48:42Speaker 3: of the largest city in America or one of the
- 48:45Speaker 3: I mean, it's still the largest city in America. I
- 48:46Speaker 3: guess it is. But is that is that is that
- 48:48Speaker 3: the testing ground? I mean? And there other places.
- 48:51Speaker 17: Well, I mean we've we've seen in my lifetime, we've
- 48:55Speaker 17: seen I mean under Lindsey under Bean, New York City
- 49:02Speaker 17: crashed and you know, have to file for bankruptcy or
- 49:08Speaker 17: get close to it.
- 49:10Speaker 3: I saw I was watching something to the documentary or
- 49:12Speaker 3: something a couple of weeks ago, and they were talking
- 49:15Speaker 3: about New York City in the nineteen seventies and eighties.
- 49:17Speaker 3: Oh yeah, and it has come so far from what
- 49:20Speaker 3: it was back then under Ed Kocha and others before him.
- 49:24Speaker 17: Well Ed Contra is pretty good.
- 49:25Speaker 3: Yeah. And Giuliani, for despite the fact he turned out
- 49:28Speaker 3: to be a complete flake later, he was a pretty
- 49:31Speaker 3: good mayor there for a while.
- 49:32Speaker 17: The best administrator forget the guns, if you forget it,
- 49:37Speaker 17: was Bloomberg and it wasn't even closed. He was the
- 49:41Speaker 17: best mayor that New York City will ever have. If
- 49:45Speaker 17: you can get the guns, if you you know, because
- 49:47Speaker 17: people here, he wants to take our guns.
- 49:49Speaker 3: Okay, they said the same thing about you.
- 49:52Speaker 17: Well, I didn't take anybody his guns.
- 49:55Speaker 3: But I remember I wasn't that we didn't know each
- 49:57Speaker 3: other time. But I remember the whole thing with the
- 49:59Speaker 3: community centers and everything.
- 50:00Speaker 17: There's a big mistake.
- 50:01Speaker 3: It went between dollar Danny to that was your next.
- 50:04Speaker 17: I should have said, I should have opened them up
- 50:06Speaker 17: and just bring the guns.
- 50:08Speaker 3: But you took a lot of heat for that, and
- 50:10Speaker 3: I won.
- 50:11Speaker 17: I won the court case.
- 50:13Speaker 3: Yeah, but it was a it was a hall of
- 50:15Speaker 3: how much time do we spend on the on the
- 50:18Speaker 3: on those two things that talked about the user fee
- 50:20Speaker 3: and the guns in the community centers. How much of
- 50:23Speaker 3: that is in the book?
- 50:24Speaker 17: Not much?
- 50:25Speaker 3: Okay, not much, Needles, it's more okay, needles.
- 50:28Speaker 17: Too much time on the needles.
- 50:29Speaker 3: Okay, give us, give us a little preview here.
- 50:31Speaker 17: Well, it's just too much. David is too much meaning,
- 50:36Speaker 17: I mean, you've got one guy that was all for him,
- 50:39Speaker 17: and then you've got jb Acres who actually did data,
- 50:44Speaker 17: who did FOI and he documents stuff. I mean he
- 50:48Speaker 17: didn't he didn't go fly by the seat of his pants.
- 50:51Speaker 17: So he's in the book.
- 50:53Speaker 3: Okay, So uh, what's the latest? Is still around the
- 50:57Speaker 3: same time? You think about in October? Because October starts
- 51:00Speaker 3: in two days, so.
