- 0:00Because Fuck You That's Why is a founding member of the Odd Pods Media Network.
- 0:36Hello, and welcome to episode one seventy five of Because Fuck You That's
- 0:43Why. B F y t W does one hundred and seventy five episodes,
- 0:49and you know, because it's such a special number, we're gonna go out
- 0:53of our way to do a completely unspecial episode, just gonna do at the
- 1:00last episode, perhaps like one second about nothing's listen. That is how we
- 1:04roll. Like we reached these milestones and we just go, eh and you
- 1:08know, trip over them. Basically. Yeah, actually, just forget.
- 1:11We have totally didn't forget that coming out Regular Show. It was coming up
- 1:18and we're like, screw it, Regular Show. Yeah. Uh So with
- 1:22that in mind, let's meet our usual players and heroes of nonsense. We'll
- 1:30start with he's a gamer and a storyteller and he used to be my youngest
- 1:34friend. It's Augie. He's a game when he so I forgot, I
- 2:00forgot again. We can't even play it? Wow, how I mean it's
- 2:14accurate? At least you're so baked you can't remember to replace your own theme
- 2:16song place. Yeah, write it down. So this question might be appropriate
- 2:28to you, Um, did I forget this week? Uh? Is there
- 2:32a recent occasion you can think of where you bounced back from failure? Well,
- 2:39I was hoping it was going to happen this week, But I guess
- 2:42not bounce back from failure. I guess what would you consider a failure?
- 2:52I mean, I mean everybody's failures different. Yeah, I guess mostly feeled
- 2:57a shame. I'm like kind of getting back into being more like an adult.
- 3:02I guess I don't know if that would consider it a failure or success
- 3:08or any of that such. But like, I've been getting like stuff for
- 3:13myself. I've got a job, I got a kind of vehicle. I
- 3:17got a really kick ass electric bike that goes like three miles an hour.
- 3:23Is awesome, so I can get to work in like ten minutes on my
- 3:27own, so I no longer have to rely on others to accomplish what I
- 3:30need to do. So well, that's very good. I mean I will
- 3:39accept that. That's a reasonable answer to the question for once from Augie.
- 3:44Wow, are you feeling all right? It's I guess this is not your
- 3:52normal non answer. Maybe I'm not hitting the very part enough today. I
- 3:55definitely am saying I forgot that I was shorten the ha, so I guess
- 4:00you take the bad. Yeah, no, that's fair. It just opens
- 4:04up more failures, little column, you fucked up again. Apologies to Mexican
- 4:11who sent us a short version. I will get it on there weeks ago.
- 4:15I swear it'll be the very first thing. At this point, it's
- 4:20almost funny if you just don't, if he just leave, that's always breaking
- 4:26a little long version. You always go, oh, I forgot again,
- 4:30But no, I will make sure it's all right. And speaking of failure,
- 4:40yeah, we're going to introduce me now. No, he's a podcaster
- 4:47and a veteran, and he's a veteran podcaster. It's Stevie. It's stuck.
- 4:58I love that shit. It just I started to make that joke and
- 5:00instantly felt bad about it because really, there's not a lot of failure around
- 5:04Stevie as far as I'm concerned. I mean, people like but yeah,
- 5:14really, when he sets out to do something, he doesn't fail. So
- 5:17uh, I'm doing it. That's that's what it comes down to. Fair,
- 5:23that's fair. But I'm going to ask you the question, anyway,
- 5:26is there like a recent time you can think of where you bounced back from
- 5:30failure. That that's difficult. I do feel a lot throughout the day,
- 5:34more than most notice. Um, I I don't have good balance anymore.
- 5:39I don't know what's happened to my equilibrium. Um, but that's a word.
- 5:44Yeah, I know. I'm the vocabulary is getting up in there too.
- 5:46I'm I'm evolving as an English no. Um uh. Rest Ferry got
- 5:53me one of these magnetic bracelet things that help with balance and stuff like that.
- 5:58And so far I've I'm not saying that the a I don't walk into
- 6:01stuff or almost fall over, but I have noticed that it's decreased a lot.
- 6:05So my clumsiness and my all around clumsiness I think has decreased in the
- 6:11last couple of weeks. Because what was it like a few months ago,
- 6:14My hands were shaking, I was spilling stuff all over everything myself like it
- 6:17was horrible but making a mess. Oh, it's it's it was every night,
- 6:25everywhere. It's all. God, it was horrible. Steve step holding
- 6:28the box, you know you're not your hands are shaking while you're picking up
- 6:30another box. Why are you doing that? Or it's like here, hold
- 6:32this chuckolate milk in this coke in here for a minute and then I just
- 6:35shake it up for him. Um. But it's been nice, Like I
- 6:40think the less stress that's been of late, being able to get outside actually
- 6:44do stuff outside, and I've been exercising regularly, and I think all that's
- 6:48actually been helping a lot, and then especially my mood, and it's been
- 6:51nice. I just don't feel like I'm such a burden anymore. Oh a
- 6:58brother, thank you. Um, but yeah, no, I completely get
- 7:02it. Um. And uh, finally I am your host, panceless Aaron.
- 7:08And here comes my theme tune for a later two. So, uh,
- 7:28there's a very good reason why I picked this question. Uh. So
- 7:31for those who are not in the know, Um, So, I have
- 7:38been trying to get my book published for a while, it feels like almost
- 7:43a year at this point. Um. And I actually did manage to get
- 7:46a publishing company to enter into a contract with me to published said book.
- 7:51And I've been really excited. And I've been working with this company for months,
- 7:55you know, on editing and type setting and all that stuff hopefully to
- 8:01get it to uh you know, stories and in people's hands this summer.
- 8:05Well, on on Monday this week, I got a really upsetting email informing
- 8:16me and every other author working with this publishing company that they were bankrupt and
- 8:20that they were going to be closing their doors, which meant basically everything was
- 8:28out the window. Uh and uh, and I have have been somewhat a
- 8:35drift, I guess, I would say, Um, I have. I've
- 8:39sent back a couple of emails looking for some kind of response. They said
- 8:45at some point it was possible the company was going to get bought up by
- 8:48another company and all of their books would come under the new company's umbrella or
- 8:54whatever that meant. Um, But I haven't heard from them, and I
- 9:00haven't heard from my original publishers at all this week, as I've just been
- 9:05trying to reach out and find out what the hell's going on, and I'm
- 9:09trying to figure out whether I need to enter legal proceedings to get some kind
- 9:13of response. Um. They did initially say that if we wanted, we
- 9:18could have our our contracts avoided, and as of Friday, as of not
- 9:22getting at a response all week long, I sent them an email saying,
- 9:26yes, please avoid my contract, but I haven't heard back from that either.
- 9:31So in any event, the contract does have an out, whereas if
- 9:39I'm not happy with their you know, with their proceedings, I just have
- 9:43to notify them and then they have a two month time period to get things
- 9:46right, and if they don't, the contract is null and void. So
- 9:50I can null the contract myself. I'm just gonna have to wait another two
- 9:54months to do it, which blows. So unless they agree to release me
- 10:01from the contract, in which case it's immediate. But I'm still waiting to
- 10:05hear back. So UM, I have chosen not to look at this as
- 10:11a you know, like a defeat. Um. If anything, it's a
- 10:16setback, but it's not going to stop me from publishing. Um, I've
- 10:20decided that I'm probably going to self publish at this point. My trust of
- 10:26traditional publishing companies has eroded somewhat. Yeah, so I am looking into self
- 10:35publishing and publishing as wide as I possibly can. So I I I am
- 10:41not going to be entering into like any like. UM, I don't know
- 10:46what you would call like exclusive deals with Amazon or whatnot. Like I know
- 10:50a lot of authors do, especially first time ones, but I don't like
- 10:56Amazon. So no, I'm not doing why would you track your self?
- 11:00Yeah, No, I'm not. I'm not trapping myself. I'm not linking
- 11:03myself to a single company. Again, let's just put it that way.
- 11:05I refuse to be under one company's auspices. So as a self publisher,
- 11:11I will keep all the rights to everything. UM. I already have a
- 11:16signed contract with the cover artists, so that's covered. So I basically just
- 11:20need to UM. I need to like um do the editing and type setting
- 11:26myself, and then I'm going to put it out at some point. Now,
- 11:31whether I get to put it out in a couple of weeks or a
- 11:33couple of months depends on whether the old company gets back to me and avoids
- 11:37my contract. But long story short, I am. I am bouncing back
- 11:43myself. Good. That's awesome, dude. No, I'm glad. I'm
- 11:48glad to hear that because, like, no joking, you said the failure
- 11:50thing. At first, I was and say, well, you know that
- 11:52website I'm working on for you, I had the scrip and start over again.
- 11:56Yeah, No, that's fair. Yeah, message message ship about it.
- 12:01I'm like, well, you know, the good news is you might
- 12:03have more time than you expected to get that up, and that'll be nice
- 12:07in any event. So anyway, moving on and having a little bit more
- 12:13fun, We're going to do our regular show. We're gonna play three games
- 12:15worth varying amount of points, and whichever player of the two of these bright
- 12:20shining faces in front of me successfully manages to get the most points at the
- 12:26end of the show wins. Our first game is going to be an old
- 12:28favorite. It's going to be like share block. I've got three news stories
- 12:31here of varying degrees of weirdness and goodness or badness however you want to put
- 12:37it. And I have a signed a combination of like share end block to
- 12:43each one of these stories in terms of which I would like share or block
- 12:46on social media, and there is only one correct combination, and JEB player
- 12:50gets that combination or gets closest to it, will win the game and earn
- 12:56a one point. So our first story. These are all fun stories,
- 13:01by the way, the first one, the first one is something special.
- 13:03Serial New York City litterer caught after four years, turns out to be an
- 13:09NYPD cop, faces little punishment, big surprise. Wow, So this is
- 13:20shucker. This has happened nearly every Sunday morning for four years. What the
- 13:28fuck? Residence of a quiet block in green Point, Brooklyn woke up to
- 13:33reams of paper just dumped on their street. And this serial litterer wasn't just
- 13:41like tearing pages out. They were precisely cutting and slicing pages from readers,
- 13:48digests from bibles, junk mail, and cornmags from the nineteen seventies before just
- 13:54completely dumping them on this little neighborhood block in Greenpoint. Uh and always did
- 14:03it before sunrise. Um. And people have been trying to catch this guy
- 14:09for years, literal years, uh and has dumped hundreds, maybe thousands of
- 14:16pages across the street in that time. He's prepousually doing that like go to
- 14:26dickhead. He was finally caught when one of the neighbors in the area put
- 14:31up a surveillance camera and successfully caught the make and model of the car that
- 14:37was doing the dumping. Um. And then a steakout was arranged between some
- 14:46neighbors had put together a fund to hire a private detective who waited until the
- 14:52car came along and successfully got the license plate and it was tracked to New
- 14:56York Police Department Sergeant John trisan Keith, who had grown up on that block
- 15:03in a family home that was sold in twenty sixteen. Um, So the
- 15:09slap on the wrist that he got, which is basically he's been like moved
- 15:13to a different department. Now he's doing like car impounds or something to that
- 15:16effect. That's literally the only thing that happened. Like, okay, but
- 15:20if any civilian did that, they would have gotten find out the ass right.
- 15:24Oh yeah, he was not fined at all. And they they they
- 15:30found they found loopholes to make sure that he wouldn't get fined or anything.
- 15:35Um, despite the sheer volume of papers he you know, threw out down
- 15:41the street for years. Um, you need to be caught by an actual
- 15:48an actual member of the sanitation department in order to be issued to find and
- 15:54he wasn't caught by a member of the sanitation department. Um also to get
- 15:58to get uh like I don't know if it's right. There was, but
- 16:06apparently it doesn't count because dont the investigation wasn't done by the sanitation Hey this
- 16:14guy do this? Yeah okay, yeah, justously donated I know that.
- 16:19Yeah. So, Um, it also didn't qualify as illegal dumping, which
- 16:26carries a fine from four to eighteen thousand dollars because the offense requires one cubic
- 16:32yard or two hundred and two liquid calends of illegally discarded refuse. And he
- 16:38only discarded like a several pages at a time as he drove down the street.
- 16:45Oh my god. Yeah, yeah, like this motherfucker do what he
- 16:48was doing? Right or they there is his it's his union probably never mind.
- 16:53Well, um, the the uh, the attorneys for the police and
- 17:00the sergeant's benevolent Association haven't commented on the case. Um, but the the
- 17:07feeling of the the residents who live there think that he was like trying to
- 17:11work through something like this. This was some sort of mental issue he was
- 17:17having because he used to live there. Um but uh. And and the
- 17:22ones who did know him are confused because he would describe himself. He they
- 17:29described him as being an environmentalist, like he was the kind of guy who
- 17:34would pick up trash off the street instead of leaving it there there. Yeah
- 17:41yeah right. The weirdest thing for me is the fact that each page had
- 17:45to be individually sliced like like d precise. Yeah, it's very odd.
- 17:53And then that also to me says this is some kind of mental issue because
- 17:59he's going to such extremes to be going back to the same place every time,
- 18:03consistently doing the same exactly. He shouldn't carry you good. Yeah,
- 18:07I think he should see a doctor at the very least. Yeah, because
- 18:15there is something going on there in any event. That's story number one.
- 18:21Let's move on to story number two. And like I said, these are
- 18:23all fun. Doctors. Doctors reattached twelve year old boys severed head. That's
- 18:30good, It is good. So a twelve year old alive, right?
- 18:37Yeah, Suleiman who was hit by a car while riding his bicycle. Uh,
- 18:41he went under an extremely rare operation after the ligaments attaching the base of
- 18:48his skull severed from the spines top vertebrae. Like it was, it was
- 18:56entirely internally decapitated. His brain and his spine were no longer able to communicate.
- 19:04Wow. So the injury is extremely rare in adults and even more rare
- 19:12in children. And the surgery took place in Israel, I believe the the
- 19:21the places called Hatasa Medical Center. They spent several hours reattaching these ligaments and
- 19:30other parts of his his head to his spine to make sure everything worked all
- 19:38right, and Apparently everything worked even though it was a long procedure. Um,
- 19:45the doctors had actually practiced this surgery in like medical school. Oh shit,
- 19:53So they just happened to have the knowledge required and they they stepped up
- 19:57and they did it. Um. Wow, that's cool. It's just kind
- 20:03of it's just kind of brilliant that the right people were there at the right
- 20:07time because this is not an easy or common surgery at all, But they
- 20:12just happened to have two of them who had practiced it before, so it
- 20:18all worked out. They saved the boy's life. He appears to have no
- 20:21neurological deficits, deficits or sensory or a motor dysfunction of any kind after the
- 20:27surgery. It's easing. He is functioning completely normally and walking without any aids
- 20:33after this long surgery. Is kind of a miracle. Damn. Yeah it
- 20:37is. Wow. Like, good on him, good on science, Good
- 20:41on you doctors. I'm liking this story. So this one's winning. Yeah,
- 20:48winning. It's not all this works. Let's go on to the story
- 20:52number three. We're pretty high on my list. Yeah, story number three.
- 20:56Like I said, these are all fun, but this one is no
- 21:00exception. Uh, Texas man found alive after going missing for eight years,
- 21:06except he was never missing. So you may have seen this story in the
- 21:11news. I know I did um a gentleman by the name of Rudolph,
- 21:18Rudy farious words. Sorry, uh sorry, sorry, excuse me. I
- 21:25didn't mean to laugh at the name, but it just sounded funny to me.
- 21:29Okay, something funny about Rudolph. That was school Rudolph the red nosed
- 21:37reindeer. Huh, who do that? You shouldn't make fun of somebody because
- 21:45their name they likely didn't get to choose it. So this gentleman was out
- 21:52walking the family dogs, and the dogs came back, but he didn't um,
- 21:57and he was reported missing. In twenty fifteen, when he was seventeen
- 22:03years old. His mother reported him missing. He said that he never returned
- 22:06back from a walk with the dogs, and cops and fire department and the
- 22:11Texas Center for the Missing, We're all on the case, looking everywhere,
- 22:15could not find him for the past eight years, and he was found oddly
- 22:21enough, passed out outside of a church nearby I think it was in the
- 22:26same city eight years later. He had an item on him with a family
- 22:33member's identification and the police contacted the mother and informed her that her son had
- 22:41been found. Now this is where it gets weird. Several neighbors in the
- 22:48area of this family home, the Faurious family home, say Rudy has been
- 22:53there the entire time, and that none of them knew that he was supposed
- 23:00missing. They would see him, he would actually go out and hang out
- 23:03with some of them, and nobody in the neighborhood had any idea that this
- 23:10guy was supposedly gone. Like the mother never went to like his friends and
- 23:15like, hey, have you seen him? Now they'll figure that is genuinely
- 23:22what I think happened, just because the coups will figure it out, and
- 23:25just stayed at home. He went missing, like but maybe only for three
- 23:29days or so, and then he came back or something like that. And
- 23:34the mother just didn't tell anybody. Oh, just never reported it. Just
- 23:38never reported it that he had been found. It's the only thing that I
- 23:41can think of. But I don't know if it makes sense. I don't.
- 23:45I genuinely don't know. He's been hiding out people's porches, neighbor's porches
- 23:51and shit, like him and his had a fight like the night before about
- 23:55loud music or some bullshit or not get his homework done, and he just
- 23:57said fuck you and left. So you're telling me, for like the last
- 24:00eight years, like people are like looking at him, like looking at like
- 24:04a milk curtain, looking at is that is that the guy that was missing?
- 24:10Like for the last eight years, no one said anything. Yeah.
- 24:15Um, there's a few more twists to this tale. Um. The mother
- 24:21of the family who initially reported and missing uh didn't go on camera, but
- 24:26claimed that the person her neighbors were talking about was not Rudy but was her
- 24:32nephew instead. Um So, I don't know how legitimate that could be.
- 24:37It's possible that they were mistaken. Just someone who looked a lot like him
- 24:41was around. That's possible, I guess. But yeah, And she shared
- 24:48a picture of this individual, the nephew, but neighbors took a look at
- 24:52it and said that's not the person they saw. Oh shit, they they
- 24:56saw Rudy, the actual guy. Um so, I think they had a
- 25:02fight. It's all very weird. Um. His mother told officials when he
- 25:07first went missing that he suffered from depression and PTSD since his brother died in
- 25:11a motorcycle accident. In twenty eleven. Um and neighbors back up that story.
- 25:18They say he talked about that a lot. But it's still not sure
- 25:23what exactly happened here. But unfortunately, that's all the details I have at
- 25:30the moment. This is difficult, it's weird. I wonder. I have
- 25:36to wonder if she got anything out of this, or either of them got
- 25:38anything. She put a life insurance policy on her seventeen year old well,
- 25:44because well, you never know, up people will be like whatever. That's
- 25:48why she never asked any of the friends. I don't know. I could
- 25:52not tell you in any event. That's all three stories. That's just I
- 25:56don't just briefly remind you. Story number one, serial New City literer turns
- 26:00out to be New York PD cop faces little punishment. Story number two doctors
- 26:06reattached twelve year old boys, severed head after several hours. Uh. And
- 26:11story number three Texas man found alive after going missing for eight years, except
- 26:15he was never missing. Um. So let's see, I cannot remember for
- 26:21the life of me, who between two of you one the game. I
- 26:23don't think winning and either of us come to mind in the same sentence anymore.
- 26:27No, no, no, no, I mean it helps when we
- 26:30do a bunch of these in a row. Used to, but so far
- 26:33we've been having a lot of guests and doing a lot of special shows.
- 26:36Been a while, yea, Um, it's been awesome. It has been,
- 26:38and we need to do more. But in any event, so I'm
- 26:41just gonna I'm gonna flip a coin here, or I'm gonna, hey,
- 26:47Google flip cooin for me. Aggie pick heads your tails? Will you tails?
- 26:55It is heads? So Stevie, Yeah, you get to choose first,
- 27:00damn it. This is I was hoping to all you would go first.
- 27:03All right, so exactly, I really am torn. I have no
- 27:07idea which way you went on this because it's so wishy washing on a bunch
- 27:11of them. It's like, dude, I don't know if you want to
- 27:14share that, but you'd want to share this, but you don't. I
- 27:15don't know. It's difficult. Um I'm gonna go with we were going to
- 27:19like that the kids had popped off, but they put it back on.
- 27:23Um Ah, let's share the cop literer story because we need to fucking get
- 27:33real justice and hold those fuckers accountable for shit, and we will block the
- 27:37missing person's story because it's just a conspiracy theory. Aaron, it's not real.
- 27:44Don't worry about it. I don't think, I don't think about it's
- 27:48block happened, okay, so um Stevie says, share story number one like
- 27:53story number two, and block story number three. Aggie, you may keep
- 27:59one of his, but you swap the other two, or you can go
- 28:00entirely your own way. Yeah. I think we both had the same for
- 28:03the severed head boy. Yeah, both like it just because it was a
- 28:07successful operation and there was a good ending to it. Um, I said,
- 28:14block the Cereal trash cop because fuck that guy, yea um, and
- 28:19then share the crypto Texas man who went missing for eight years supposedly kind of
- 28:26like like is it Goldstein Bears or the eight was really a three? Just
- 28:37jelly fell on the print before it printed out. No one knows. With
- 28:48both of your answers in, I can tell you you got it exactly right
- 28:52now, dude. Definitely my second one. I wasn't sure I blocked the
- 28:56cop litterer um because it's it's just the thin blue line backing up their boy
- 29:03again and I'm so sick and tired of it. Yeah, nobody ever gets
- 29:07punished when they're a cop for doing anything wrong, ever, for anything.
- 29:11Um I mean, after after several, many, many, many cops have
- 29:17completely blatantly gotten away with murder and stealing from people or even raping, Like
- 29:22them getting away with this seems just you know, whatever business is usual.
- 29:26Um So, but I don't want to hear about it, so I block
- 29:29it. I of course like the doctors reattaching, tol your boice evered head,
- 29:33because that's awesome, but it it just doesn't feel like the kind of
- 29:37thing that I would, you know, go and share and like, hey,
- 29:41look at this good news. And I think maybe that's part of the
- 29:42problem with me, is that I don't, like, immediately want to share
- 29:47good news, and instead I would rather share the bizarre thing that makes my
- 29:52head spend about the guy who went missing, except he didn't go missing because
- 29:57what the fuck I say they saw the mother says he was never there.
- 30:03Oh my god, I just enjoy sharing what the fuckory? So you know
- 30:08that does my head in, So I'm going to share that. So Aggie
- 30:11gets it right. He has won the first game and has one episode points
- 30:15nice, Okay, when we come back Stevie's gonna have a chance to strike
- 30:22back when we play Game two, which is going to be worth two points,
- 30:25and it's coming up right after this. Hi. I'm Tina how Tomo
- 30:37and I'm Hillary Dougherty and we host The Muck Podcast, where we discussed the
- 30:41dark and sometimes weird true stories in American politics. E. Tina, did
- 30:45you know that Elvis crashed the Nixon White House for the sole purpose of getting
- 30:48a DA badge and it worked? Or how a gun control advocate senator out
- 30:56of California engaged in gun trafficking with Detoria's gang leader shrimp Boy. That boy
- 31:00I remember him? Okay, So you know. We cover all of that
- 31:03and more from Maladi's madness, mischief and murder in US politics, and we
- 31:08also host a bi weekly interview segment called Little Muck. We interview politicians,
- 31:14journalists, activists, and others who share their experiences in politics. Find The
- 31:18Muck Podcast wherever you listen to podcasts, and check us out on social media
- 31:22at the Muck Podcast. Amen, welcome Mac. It's time for Game Too.
- 31:37But before we get into Game Too, I hear wonder of wonders.
- 31:42Do we have a voicemail? Oh? Yes we do. I'm sure we
- 31:47yelled about it enough so it was a voicemail. Yeah, I complained in
- 31:52bitch loud enough, so I'm genuinely excited to hear what we got back.
- 31:56Oh yeah, this is gonna be interesting. Okay, so let's hear it.
- 32:04Yeah, Hi, guys, Kristen here calling in because a Cordy Talk
- 32:10I saw you weren't feeling enough love for your listeners and needed some calls as
- 32:15such. I just wanted to call him and let you guys know that the
- 32:17fy tw is one of the highlights of my week and I enjoy seeing what
- 32:22Yeah come up with. I absolutely loved the whole position game, and I
- 32:25really hope we get more of that soon. Anyhow, I just wanted to
- 32:30send you all my love and I hope you have a great week. Yeah,
- 32:34that's awesome, so thank you. We definitely position. I know Rus
- 32:39said he would never come back out again because it's a stress, but well,
- 32:45here's the thing, right, Like I knew that that Lauren was a
- 32:49big Game Show fan, I did not take into account that Russ might not
- 32:53enjoy the same thing. She took was so perfect though. It was awesome,
- 32:59but down to do an, although next time we have Russ on it
- 33:05will definitely be something more chill, more laid back and not not even stressful
- 33:08like a normal show. Yeah, so sorry, russ Um, but it
- 33:16was a good time and I really did enjoy it, and I thought it
- 33:19was it was it was a lot of fun, and I was I was
- 33:22upset that nobody won, Like, come on, man, you know,
- 33:25I really thought like, we genuinely have to play again so that we get
- 33:30someone to win. But maybe maybe we ask other people, or maybe we
- 33:34ask Lauren and John from the Weird Out podcast. Maybe he'd enjoy it a
- 33:38little bit more than Russ. I don't know. I want to get tons
- 33:43of people on. I'm in, yeah, yeah we can. We can
- 33:45have anybody play it. This is anybody's sort of games. So anyway,
- 33:49thank you so much. Kristen has really appreciated. Thank you for giving us
- 33:52called you didn't have to. We're just kind of guilty. I know,
- 33:58we begged and we bitch, we fished about it for like the whole episode
- 34:02and then they're like, no, you didn't have to do that. Thank
- 34:07you for doing It's so appreciated. Oh my god, I didn't have to
- 34:13do that. Yeah, that was so above and beyond. Wow. Wow,
- 34:19I should have gotten so pochastic. She should have like you guys calling
- 34:25you again assholes. Yeah, we gotta tell us all right, Um,
- 34:34but I hear that's not all. We also got some comments, d Yeah,
- 34:37we got some comments on Patreon. Actually one from Kristen just hashtag jelly
- 34:43butt and that was from the one seventy four last episode relaxing, recapping and
- 34:49rejoicing. Yeah, and then we David McGinn also commented on there you ever
- 34:54feel like you're two dongle short of a dingle dork all the time, David,
- 35:01Which is awesome. And if you guys didn't know, against my better
- 35:07judgment, bfy tw now has a Facebook. Yeah, this is true.
- 35:14You can find by on Facebook at by tw pod not all one word,
- 35:19it's b fy tw space pod. Correct. Um. Yeah, we've been
- 35:23I just created long acause I know apparently people use it. Um. I
- 35:28was unsure where Twitter was going and I just don't like use it personally,
- 35:30but yet for the show would be cool and we are gone there if you're
- 35:35interested. Yeah. Yeah, So Twitter has gone so far downhill that Facebook
- 35:38is actually looking like the lesser of two evils lovely enough, which is scary.
- 35:43Yeah anyway, but we're on there. If anybody would like to follow
- 35:45us on there. We got that just started up. We could use the
- 35:49little boosted followers on there if we continue to do this. Uh yeah yeah.
- 35:52But we hooked up with Luck for Energy House, went in there,
- 35:55spoke with them again. They gave us a cool little screenshot of one of
- 36:00their drinks, their Rainbow drink, along with their logo in the back,
- 36:04and then they grabbed a bunch of our stickers in our cards to pass out.
- 36:07So I just wanted to give them a shout out and say thank you.
- 36:09Hell yeah, hell yeah. Oh is there more business? There is
- 36:13one more um kyla message us on Facebook as well, oh said vfy tw
- 36:20pod. If you need a guest, I know a goofy person named me,
- 36:24So heck yeah, I can't wait to meet this. I know,
- 36:28like so exciting. I want to thank everybody who came and left the messages,
- 36:34either on our Facebook or on our Patreon. It is so awesome that
- 36:37you are supporting us in this way, even if all it does is,
- 36:42like you know, rank us off a little bit higher in the algorithm that
- 36:45runs our Internet lives it helps right in any event, it's time for game
- 36:52two. Pitch me baby one more time. I'm going to give our players
- 36:55an assignment of some kind, usually involving a massive media property of some kind,
- 37:02and give it a little twist, and whichever player gives me the best
- 37:07pitch based on that assignment will win the game and earn two points. So
- 37:13July fifteenth was the twentieth anniversary of one of my favorite RPGs ever, Star
- 37:19Wars Knights the Old Republic. That game took one of the most beloved franchises
- 37:23of all time, primarily known for being about high speed action and adventure,
- 37:30and turned it into a slower, turn based role playing game. But incredibly,
- 37:37the mashup worked like Gangbusters, and the series has seen a sequel and
- 37:42an MMO RPG that is still around and playable today. What I want you
- 37:46two to do is to catch that lightning in a bottle one more time by
- 37:51pitching me another massively popular franchise made into a video game where the genre of
- 37:59that game plays against what the franchise is known for, a genre you wouldn't
- 38:06expect from that franchise. And then I want you to tell me why that
- 38:09game will be amazing. The best pitch wins. And Stevie, you lost
- 38:15the last game, so you have the choice which of the two of you
- 38:19would you like to go first. Since I did lose the last game and
- 38:22I need to redeem myself hard, I'm actually gonna go first, hopefully blowing
- 38:25your mind in a good way so that Augis doesn't even stand a chance.
- 38:30Listen, you can blow me anyway you want. Thank you God, I've
- 38:32been waiting to hear you say that. You're welcome. All right, Jess,
- 38:37gentlemen, I permit, I permit. Wow, let's start that over
- 38:42English Is. Family took a little I haven't gotten the title, gentlemen,
- 38:50I present to you Gee Man Smurf Game. Okay, man, yeah,
- 38:59no, I mean Man Surf game. Yeah. There's a reason smurf surf
- 39:04Smurf not surf. So we're bringing the Smurf franchise back. I mean they
- 39:10started doing the Fraggles, they rebooted that. I say, we get on
- 39:14this now. Let's do Smurfs and get this go on. Well, let's
- 39:16get this going for the now crowd. All right, So, g Man
- 39:21Smurf Game, you get to choose your Smurf or customize your own with a
- 39:24variety of clothing options along with unlockable accessories you know, etc. Clothes hair.
- 39:30After selecting your Smurf, you are introduced to an overview of Smurf Village,
- 39:35which is being attacked by Gargamel and his cat Asriel. Most of the
- 39:38village is consumed by fire and they are panic Smurfs running all their running for
- 39:44their smurfing lives. Sadly, Gargamel was was able to capture the majority of
- 39:49the Smurfs, including Clumsy Smurf of course, Krauchy Smurf, and Brainy Smurf.
- 39:54Chef Smurf was the first to go as Azrael devoured him a la carte,
- 39:59and in the chaos, Papa Smurf was able to escape. Unfortunately,
- 40:04g Man Gargamel had a spell ready that could transport him and his possessions to
- 40:07another layer. After Gargamel attempted to cook and prepare the Smurfs for his main
- 40:13recipes, he realized that they taste completely disgusting. Since he wasted his entire
- 40:19smurfing life trying to capture them, he couldn't break it to himself to let
- 40:22them go. He had to make catching them worth the decades he lost chasing
- 40:27them all, he created the g Man Smurf Game. You and ninety nine
- 40:31others smurfs are located in a holding area, all with basic white tops and
- 40:37bottoms. The only difference is an alpha numeric symbol on their chest. You
- 40:40go around and have dialogue with other scared Smurfs, or you can go right
- 40:45into the first area, which is a doorway labeled Smurf Game. Once through
- 40:49the doorway, there's a randomizer board kind of kin to like Mario Party,
- 40:54in which the participants will play in Some can be hidden or unlocked later just
- 41:00by playing the games. But you play the first game against the first ninety
- 41:02nine other smurfs, allowing only for seventy five Smurfs to make it to the
- 41:07next round. Each gameplay is made up of at least five rounds, decreasing
- 41:10the amounts of participants that can move on to the next game. The final
- 41:15round will allow the top three to escape. G Man Smurf Game. Papa
- 41:19Smurf Contact. Okay, here's where there's work. It can split off depending
- 41:22on how the game goes. There's two different endings to this. Papa Smurf
- 41:24contacts you throughout through the game with messages passed through the Secret Message Urgency Retrieval
- 41:31Front also known as Smurf Run by a few Smurfs that got away during the
- 41:36initial attack, or you come to find out that Papa Smurf actually sold out
- 41:40the rest of the Smurfs two Gman Gargamel so that he could get away from
- 41:45the village. He was always forced to take care of his entire life.
- 41:51So I think it's going to hit the crowd now because of all the different
- 41:54types of killing type game shows, games and stories going out, there's a
- 41:59ton of them, and I think that this would hit with that. Plus
- 42:02it brings the Smurfs into this Holy fuck, dude, Smurf game. This
- 42:06is insane. You can see Smurfska getting fucking destimated and shit, I think
- 42:10it's a home run and it wouldn't cost that much because it's handimated. I
- 42:21uh so, what are you pitching me? Are you pitching me not a
- 42:23video game? But like, no, no, it's a game. Okay,
- 42:27it's a game. Yeah, it's a game. You're actually playing like
- 42:29kind of like you're playing mini games. So every time you started up,
- 42:31you get another set of mini games you can play. It's randomized, so
- 42:36then you can unlock new games too as you play forward, like kind of
- 42:38like the Mario Party games and stuff, Sumarrio Party game, Sumario Party.
- 42:44But you're killing twenty five Smurfs at a time, so it's like it's like
- 42:47squid game. Yeah, so it's It's also got choices you make in it,
- 42:52so it can change the type of game, like the endings and stuff.
- 42:58So it's like saw. Yeah, uh smurf Saw is indeed something in
- 43:06a direction I would not expect to be taken. So I had the requirements
- 43:09at least, right, that's what I want to know. Yeah, yeah,
- 43:12no, no, you you passed the requirements. That's all I needed.
- 43:15Cool. Uh, well I don't know about that. Let's see if
- 43:21Aggie can give me a slightly better pitch here, Aggie, what do you
- 43:23got? Well, unlike my friend here, I only have five words for
- 43:27you. John Wick full motion video. Oh yeah, John Wick full motion
- 43:38video? Cause you do you remember like dragons Layer? Of course I'm talking
- 43:45like that, but John Wick, and and that's it. That's your whole
- 43:52pitch. What more like, if you know what dragons Layer is, which
- 43:54is basically just like oh I do. Yeah, like you're playing essentially a
- 43:59video and yeah, yeah, there's you have to press the right direction the
- 44:04right time. But yeah, although I guess in your game it would be
- 44:07the gun button. Yeah exactly, be like a trigger or that, but
- 44:09still like the and all that stuff like that same thing. Yeah, but
- 44:14like okay, but in the style of John Wick. So yeah, like
- 44:16just the really cool when they do like the non stop uncut scene. Well
- 44:22it's cut but cut scene right and all that is so like the whole way
- 44:25through, except you're playing it and then it collectibles just like in Dragon's Layer.
- 44:31Yeah, so yeah, way you could beat the final Boss because that's
- 44:35the only way I think you can beat the Final Boss and Dragons Layers.
- 44:37You collect everything. You have to get everything, yeah, everything, Okaya,
- 44:44go through Alison wander Lane and shit, just like so, um,
- 44:50this is gonna it's actually gonna be really tough. Because Aggie gave me a
- 44:55nine out of ten concept and then a one out of ten pitch. Yeah,
- 45:01and then Stevie gave me a five out of ten concept and a five
- 45:05out of ten pitch. I'll take that genuinely, like like I mean,
- 45:13no, there's no butts about it. I can't stand Dragon dragons Layer is
- 45:19a game. I think it's a terrible game. It's a terrible FMB game.
- 45:22It's basically it's basically quick time event. The video game is what it
- 45:25is, literally what it is. I hate and quick time events are like
- 45:30one of the worst things that's ever happened to video games ever. So and
- 45:36I wish they would all just burn into a fire and die, uh and
- 45:39go away forever, but they keep coming back for some reason. Um in
- 45:45any event, Now, when you when you said John Wick the FMB game,
- 45:49I was like, oh, because I immediately envisioned like like an FPS,
- 45:57an FPS that combined first person shooting and Candora directive style uh oh,
- 46:06exploration and discovery, and you would just interact with other characters, or there
- 46:12would be cut scenes with full motion video like the text Murphy Games worked out.
- 46:16That would have been like an instant win. Like I would have been
- 46:20all about that, especially if you interspersed the two, like there would be
- 46:24a shooting level and then there'd be you know, interrogation or investigation find out
- 46:30who set up the hit or what have you by going through somebody's office or
- 46:34you know what the hell ever, um, and then back to another shooting
- 46:37level. You know, I would be all about that. That would be
- 46:39so would be so cool. Um. But I think in the end I
- 46:45have to I have to give it to Stevie on this one because I think
- 46:51it would be a more more more likely to I don't know if it's more
- 46:55likely to sell, but it's a better game, I think in the end
- 47:00than Dragon's Layers. So, uh, that's gonna be two points to Stevie.
- 47:05Thank you, thank you for g Man Smurf game. Why do you
- 47:08call him g Man because his name it just why not Gargamel's Smurf Game?
- 47:15Mm hmm, yeah, it's not. It's not. It's not called s
- 47:20game. It's called sweet. I was like, I wanted to put his
- 47:25name in it without you know what it was his name until part way through.
- 47:29It's not eight games. It's Hunger supposed to be a surprise thing.
- 47:34That's why. All right, So is two points for Stevie, one point
- 47:38for we will not have a tie. Somebody is going to win this game
- 47:43when we come back at home right after this. Hey, this is Russ,
- 47:54this is Kyle, this is Michelle from The Infectious Groove podcast. Join

- 48:29media network. Hey man, oh boy, what are you two laughing about.
- 48:44Oh I'm messing with Doggy again. Well, it's time to determine a
- 48:52winner, and to do that, we're going to play game three. Game
- 48:55three is the rules of the game? You guys, You guys know how
- 49:00to play right. No, no, And that is the whole point.
- 49:06They are about to just start playing a game. They have absolutely no idea
- 49:09what the rules are. Um, there are two ways to win. You
- 49:12can either have the most points at the end of the game, or if
- 49:15you can successfully guess what the rules of the game are. At some point
- 49:21along the way. You only get one guess, and I need to warn
- 49:24you both right now. There are two important parts to the rules of the
- 49:30game, and I need both parts for you to be correct. Okay,
- 49:34that's fair, all right, thank you for that. So if you if
- 49:39you're about to guess, but you really only have one idea, maybe hold
- 49:44off. In any event, so we're just gonna keep playing until either they
- 49:50get through all the possible options, or if one of them guess is correctly,
- 49:54which will end the game right then and there and they will win and
- 49:57earn three points. Otherwise we play. If neither of them get it,
- 50:00we play until the end, and whoever has the most points at the end
- 50:02will win the game. So, Aggie, you lost the last game,
- 50:08so you have the choice you want to go first or second. I'll go
- 50:10first this time. Okay, in that case, Aggie, go ahead?
- 50:19Wait? What? Go what? Where do you go? Ahead? Are
- 50:27you saying? What? Yes? What is incorrect and earns you no points?

- 51:58that you check? Ornithologist jesus a gat spelled it? Ornithologist is incorrect and

- 53:09correct, handswer cat, I'm going to give you a hand. How did
- 53:14you do it? Rewind this and find out. Try using smaller words that
- 53:19have no repeat letters in them. Aggie, you're up first rat uh one
- 53:31second rat is correct and earns you three points. Okay, Stevie for me
- 53:43three points awesome? Okay. So um, let's go with hat h t
- 53:52hat is incorrect and earns you no points. Aggie, You're up rye r

- 1:14:01is due to a very popular game. Mm hmm. I know the rules
- 1:14:08of the game age, I really don't. Uh fcs FCS is incorrect because
- 1:14:25it has a repeating letter and it has an effinite as well. And Stevie,
- 1:14:30you want to put a nail in the coffin, I don't have to
- 1:14:34put points in. I can just say the name. Or should I put
- 1:14:36points first? It's up to you. Well, I want to guess it
- 1:14:41to see if I'm right. But yeah, I guess fuck it. Uh,
- 1:14:44it's I T S I S H. That is going to be a
- 1:14:50correct answer, and it is worth three points. I'd like to make I
- 1:14:54guess the rules of the game, all right, Uh, see me,
- 1:14:58go ahead, tell me what are the two parts of the rules of this
- 1:15:01game? The two parts of this game? The rules are Yeah, that's
- 1:15:05good. That's the part I was focusing on for so hard. Um,
- 1:15:10the letters that are chosen are from the three of our names, and the
- 1:15:15second rule is the points for the letters are from scrabble. That's exactly right.
- 1:15:21Yes, that is exactly right. I took all the letters from our
- 1:15:27first names uh, A, E, G, I, N, O,
- 1:15:30R STUV and got a huge list of the scrabble words you could make
- 1:15:35from those letters without duplicating any of them. Uh, and you get an
- 1:15:41amount of points equal to how many they be worth in scrabble. Um.
- 1:15:45Just for fun zies, the longest possible word you can make out of our
- 1:15:49first names is out serving does. It's ten letter word and it's worth fourteen
- 1:15:55points. And also for fun um, one of the words you can make
- 1:16:00using our names is anus. Yes, yes, you mashed the three of
- 1:16:05us together. What do you get a big age? Even if I got
- 1:16:11the first part right, I've never fucking played scrabble, so I would never
- 1:16:15got that. That was the only part that was screwing me up was the
- 1:16:18point. I was trying to figure out how much each of the letters were
- 1:16:20worked, And I'm like, I got the letters, Its parts easy.
- 1:16:24What the fuck is the point value of these fuck are volumes vowels worth one
- 1:16:28And then towards the end when you said that last, I was like,
- 1:16:30motherfucker, I'm an eighty eight scrabble. Yeah, so we basically just played
- 1:16:35scrabble with our own names. So yeah, I hope you enjoyed that.
- 1:16:41I know it drove Aggie crazy, and I apologize it. Never played scrabble,
- 1:16:45never gonna now, but it does mean that our winner getting three points
- 1:16:54from this game and having two points in the previous at five points to one,
- 1:16:57it's Stevie. Yes, back, baby up back limited time only come
- 1:17:01here click wow. Uh yeah, it's it's it's a rare thing. I
- 1:17:08feel that Stevie figures out the puzzle before Augie does. Yeah, very joy
- 1:17:14that well. I think he even got that he was using the three of
- 1:17:23our names before Augie did. Yeah. I think because you started giving me
- 1:17:27a string of correct numbers. I'm like, oh, yeah, he's he's
- 1:17:30on it now. Because I wasn't sure at first though, because I was
- 1:17:32like, I don't know, let me throw this out there first. It's
- 1:17:35I know Augie doesn't know. We're okay. Yeah, as soon as you
- 1:17:40said grave I'm like, oh, yeah, he's got it. He's got
- 1:17:43it. He's got it, because that's that's a high scoring words. I
- 1:17:49was like, yeah, anyway, so yeah, that's gonna be it from
- 1:17:55us. I hope you enjoyed listening and playing along. I hope you got
- 1:17:59it before either of our dream team, and I hope so. But just
