- 0:11Hello friends, it's Sean. Here it is a Thursday and you
- 0:17tap play. So here I am and you and I are
- 0:20going to read a chapter of the Bible.
- 0:22And today we read a very short chapter.
- 0:26It's a little unfair. Hi Desire is a heavy book, isn't
- 0:29it? There is lots of judgment about
- 0:32all the things that Israel has done wrong and is going to do
- 0:35wrong, and unfortunately what the consequences are for that.
- 0:38But then these beautiful chapters of hope and promise
- 0:42come, and today is one of those. This is a song of praise that
- 0:49they will sing on that day when things go well for them when
- 0:52they are rescued. And the reason I say it's unfair
- 0:55is this is such a lovely song, but it's quite brief compared to
- 0:59the oracles of judgment. It's not unfair, it's just it's
- 1:04just the way it is. And the beauty of being a
- 1:07prophet is when you prophesy, you don't have to prophesy
- 1:10telling the story in chronological order of how
- 1:13things are going to play out. So he Isaiah, gets to prophesy
- 1:18this song of salvation, of praise for all that God's people
- 1:23will want to sing on the day that they're saved by their
- 1:26savior. And well, if you are Jewish,
- 1:29you're still waiting for that day.
- 1:31So they have not yet sung this song.
- 1:33You know what that means? It means that this is our song.
- 1:36This is a song for you and for me to sing today, to be grateful
- 1:42for the salvation that we have. So let us sing this ancient song
- 1:46of praise together in Isaiah chapter 12.
- 1:59In that day you will sing. I will praise you, O Lord.
- 2:05You were angry with me, but not any more.
- 2:09Now you comfort me. See, God has come to save me.
- 2:15I will trust in him and not be afraid.
- 2:19The Lord God is my strength and my song.
- 2:22He has given me victory with joy.
- 2:26He will drink deeply from the fountain of salvation.
- 2:30In that wonderful day. You will sing, thank the Lord,
- 2:34praise His name, tell the nations what He has done.
- 2:39Let them know how mighty He is. Sing to the Lord, for he has
- 2:43done wonderful things. Make known his praise around the
- 2:48world. Let all the people of Jerusalem
- 2:52shout His praise with joy, for great is the Holy One of Israel
- 2:59who lives among you. Well, Lord, this song says it
- 3:15all. What is there left to pray?
- 3:18We drink deeply from the phantom of salvation, and we sing to
- 3:24thank you and to praise you. You truly have saved us.
- 3:30No matter what challenges we face today, you are victorious
- 3:34over them because you have defeated death and every
- 3:38challenge this life has for us in Jesus, and you have forged a
- 3:45way for us to come and live with you in eternity.
- 3:51Oh, we are so grateful for everything that you have won for
- 3:54us, our mighty God and our Redeemer.
- 3:59Ah, we love you and we celebrate all that you have done for us.
- 4:05In the name of Jesus. Amen.
