Flooding Risk in Central Illinois | Peoria News
Central Illinois braces for serious rainfall through Wednesday night as a slow-moving cold front threatens flash flooding—especially south of Galesburg and Pontiac—with 1-3 inches possible in heavy bursts. Already saturated ground means even small amounts could cause major issues, prompting a Flood Watch from 1 p.m. Wednesday to 1 a.m. Thursday. Most areas may stay dry until lunch, but storms ramp up after that. Relief comes Friday night with a weaker front bringing lighter rain.
