- 0:00Speaker 1: Off the Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn. Okay,
- 0:03Speaker 1: here we go.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Where the plays get broken down and science gets denied.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Dude, they said I gotta come off the bench.
- 0:09Speaker 3: Hour two of Off the Bench, live from the Raising
- 0:12Speaker 3: Cane Studio.
- 0:50Speaker 1: All right, welcome back in.
- 0:51Speaker 4: Hour number two of OTV here live from the Raising
- 0:54Speaker 4: Cane Studio. Our Tuesday show is brought to you by
- 0:58Speaker 4: Community Steel, communitysteelco.com, right there in Gonzales, Louisiana, communitysteelco.com. I
- 1:10Speaker 4: don't know if it's going to be a purple jersey game, Matt.
- 1:13Speaker 4: So I just want to get that information out there.
- 1:15Speaker 4: I don't know if it's going to be.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:17Speaker 4: But regardless of the color of the jersey, you have
- 1:22Speaker 4: McNeese coming to town.
- 1:25Speaker 1: We all know what the situation is.
- 1:29Speaker 4: With as many guys that got injured in the last game,
- 1:32Speaker 4: this is for around the room, guys that got banged up,
- 1:36Speaker 4: guys that could probably go, but you got to be
- 1:40Speaker 4: smart about them.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Because... Coming down the road.
- 1:43Speaker 4: You've got at Kentucky, Mississippi State, at Auburn before you
- 1:46Speaker 4: get to a bye week. How would you handle and
- 1:49Speaker 4: how do you think they're going to handle some of
- 1:51Speaker 4: the guys that are nicked up, as old Les would say?
- 1:55Speaker 1: I wouldn't play any of them. Not one? No.
- 2:01Speaker 5: All right. Like on the bubble, I mean, I'm definitely
- 2:04Speaker 5: not playing Sam. On the bubble, who would you like to.
- 2:08Speaker 1: See end, you think?
- 2:14Speaker 4: I mean, I never like going into a game and
- 2:20Speaker 4: just sitting everybody and treating it like a preseason game.
- 2:25Speaker 1: I don't.
- 2:26Speaker 4: Now, I understand why you do it. I'm thinking about
- 2:29Speaker 4: my mentality. I'm like, man, you only get so many
- 2:31Speaker 4: of these. I'm not missing one. I didn't miss a
- 2:33Speaker 4: game at LSU. It would have devastated me to miss
- 2:36Speaker 4: a game, sit there and watch you all play. But
- 2:38Speaker 4: I do know you have to be smart. So we're
- 2:41Speaker 4: going to be the biggest one. We're not talking about
- 2:43Speaker 4: treating like a preseason.
- 2:44Speaker 5: You're talking about people that are injured and have potentially
- 2:47Speaker 5: have some situations going on, but.
- 2:50Speaker 4: You also, I don't think you want to have like
- 2:52Speaker 4: wholesale changes, but more than even like injuries. I think
- 2:57Speaker 4: this is a great opportunity for the defense because there's
- 3:02Speaker 4: going to have to be some moving pieces. Like there's
- 3:05Speaker 4: going to the Rubik's cube that we always talk about.
- 3:07Speaker 4: Like you're going to keep turning, turn, turn, turn, turn.
- 3:09Speaker 4: So you find the right formula. The defense is one
- 3:11Speaker 4: of the best in the country, but you're going to
- 3:13Speaker 4: be without Whit Weeks. You're already without Spears. Those are
- 3:16Speaker 4: two big, big losses. For me, I want to see
- 3:21Speaker 4: multiple people play multiple positions because they cross-train, which I like,
- 3:26Speaker 4: and just see what you kind of have and see
- 3:29Speaker 4: who can do what in a game like this.
- 3:31Speaker 1: So the injured guys, even if a guy's dealing with.
- 3:35Speaker 4: An AC joint, but you're going to need him, how
- 3:38Speaker 4: much do you play that guy? if it's, let's call
- 3:41Speaker 4: it like a, I don't even know, middle backer, and
- 3:44Speaker 4: you know that your depth's really thin there, the guy's
- 3:46Speaker 4: got an AC joint, do you play him knowing he
- 3:49Speaker 4: needs reps?
- 3:50Speaker 1: Do you sit him knowing you're going to need him?
- 3:52Speaker 4: That's the kind of mindset in this game that you
- 3:55Speaker 4: kind of struggle with. Do I go with getting him experience,
- 3:59Speaker 4: or am I smart for down the road?
- 4:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:03Speaker 5: If you're thin at a position and a guy's already
- 4:06Speaker 5: dealing with something, Now, every something is different, right? There's, there's,
- 4:12Speaker 5: there's a, I'm going to use air quote, a something.
- 4:14Speaker 5: There's injuries out there, minor injuries that can't get worse.
- 4:17Speaker 5: It's just about dealing with, it's just pain management at
- 4:19Speaker 5: that time. I would say probably most or a lot
- 4:24Speaker 5: of the injuries are stuff that can get worse. Like,
- 4:27Speaker 5: I remember I had an injury. It was my ankle
- 4:31Speaker 5: and it was like, I think it was my ankle
- 4:33Speaker 5: or it was maybe my foot and.
- 4:35Speaker 1: But it's all kind of the same thing.
- 4:39Speaker 5: It was an injury that the doctor was like, look,
- 4:41Speaker 5: you can't injure this more. It's not like a crack
- 4:43Speaker 5: that's going to become a big break. It's not a
- 4:48Speaker 5: small tear that's going to be turned into a rip.
- 4:51Speaker 5: It was a pain management thing. And so I had
- 4:53Speaker 5: to deal with the pain. And so at that point,
- 4:55Speaker 5: I felt good with playing. It's like, okay, I can
- 4:57Speaker 5: be tough. The adrenaline is going to be flowing. I
- 4:59Speaker 5: can fight through the pain if I'm not going to
- 5:01Speaker 5: hurt myself. That's one thing. And we're not going to
- 5:06Speaker 5: know who's got what on that. But if that's one thing,
- 5:10Speaker 5: then yeah, I could see you getting reps in. But
- 5:12Speaker 5: if you're thin at a position and it's something that
- 5:15Speaker 5: could become worse, hell no, I'm not playing him in
- 5:17Speaker 5: this game. It's a hell no. It's absolutely not. There's
- 5:22Speaker 5: plenty of reps to get better against Kentucky and then Auburn.
- 5:26Speaker 4: I guess playing devil's advocate here, do you want your
- 5:30Speaker 4: reps– Coming against Kentucky? No.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Or do you want them coming against Kentucky?
- 5:33Speaker 5: No, I hate preseason games in NFL, and I hate
- 5:36Speaker 5: these games in college.
- 5:40Speaker 1: They don't get you better. I'm sorry. They don't get
- 5:42Speaker 1: you better.
- 5:43Speaker 4: Give some dirty looks. Doesn't give you a real idea
- 5:46Speaker 4: of who you're actually going to be going against.
- 5:48Speaker 1: The next week.
- 5:48Speaker 5: It gets you stats. It gets you feeling good about yourself,
- 5:52Speaker 5: but it doesn't get you better. If you say stats,
- 5:56Speaker 5: I don't think I ever had a good game.
- 5:58Speaker 1: I know. Well, a lot of people do, right?
- 6:01Speaker 5: If you're playing basketball, and, like, again, look, I'm saying
- 6:06Speaker 5: I'm trying to give, like, comparisons, and LSU and McNeese
- 6:10Speaker 5: are just not on the same, like, playing field. And
- 6:12Speaker 5: this isn't, like, but you don't get better playing one-on-one
- 6:16Speaker 5: basketball with somebody that's not on your level.
- 6:18Speaker 1: You get better playing equal competition. Like, that's how you
- 6:21Speaker 1: get better. Alondra Taytay.
- 6:24Speaker 5: Your run fit as a linebacker is not going to
- 6:26Speaker 5: look the same against Kentucky as it was this week.
- 6:28Speaker 1: I get it.
- 6:29Speaker 4: Alondra Tete, how would y'all handle this game with some
- 6:32Speaker 4: guys that are nicked up, even though there's some guys
- 6:34Speaker 4: that are going to need some experience? And maybe they
- 6:36Speaker 4: don't even have an injury, but maybe you pull them
- 6:39Speaker 4: a little bit sooner than you normally would if.
- 6:42Speaker 1: You do get up.
- 6:42Speaker 3: I think with the defense, I agree. Kind of leave
- 6:47Speaker 3: them figure, like let them figure it out what their
- 6:50Speaker 3: new roles and positions are going to be. But if
- 6:53Speaker 3: you feel like you're up a bunch, then put your
- 6:56Speaker 3: backups in.
- 6:56Speaker 2: But as for Sam... I would start.
- 6:59Speaker 3: Landon only because we know that Landon is capable of
- 7:04Speaker 3: winning a game, I think. I mean, we haven't seen
- 7:07Speaker 3: him for an entire game, but from what we've seen,
- 7:09Speaker 3: he could probably go up against McNeese and do fine.
- 7:12Speaker 3: But I think that you give Landon the opportunity to
- 7:15Speaker 3: start that game and see what he can do for
- 7:18Speaker 3: the entire game.
- 7:20Speaker 6: I want, no, if Sam Levitt starts this game at
- 7:24Speaker 6: this point, I'd be surprised and a little disappointed only
- 7:27Speaker 6: because Lane has talked about how he doesn't like the
- 7:30Speaker 6: nine game SEC schedule. Like yesterday, he said, it feels
- 7:33Speaker 6: like we've played seven games already.
- 7:35Speaker 1: He said, it feels like we've gone through a whole season.
- 7:37Speaker 4: Right.
- 7:37Speaker 1: We got seven games. Right.
- 7:38Speaker 4: Right.
- 7:38Speaker 6: We have seven games left. Like, no, there is no
- 7:41Speaker 6: downside to playing Landon Clark. One, I understand it's McNeese.
- 7:45Speaker 6: You get to see what Landon Clark looks like in
- 7:46Speaker 6: your offense for a whole game to why risk an
- 7:49Speaker 6: injury with Sam Levitt. Like if Landon Clark or who's
- 7:52Speaker 6: on long street, whoever is not good enough to beat McNeese,
- 7:55Speaker 6: then he got bigger problems than Sam Levitt with a
- 7:57Speaker 6: hamstring injury.
- 7:58Speaker 1: I don't even think it's like that.
- 7:59Speaker 4: I don't think it's a situation of either one of
- 8:01Speaker 4: those quarterbacks is certainly capable of doing that.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Then there's no reason to play Sam Levitt.
- 8:06Speaker 4: Again, I'm asking you all these questions, playing devil's advocate
- 8:08Speaker 4: a little bit, and maybe you'd be the best to
- 8:11Speaker 4: answer this. Coming off a heater like Sam did, would
- 8:15Speaker 4: you want to go right back out there and continue
- 8:18Speaker 4: on that heater for a little bit, or do you
- 8:20Speaker 4: think that changes anything about how well he played against
- 8:23Speaker 4: A & M? Not when you have a hamstring issue
- 8:27Speaker 4: and you're about to play Kentucky, Mississippi State, Auburn, Bama, Texas, Tennessee.
- 8:32Speaker 4: Not when you're about to play that schedule.
- 8:36Speaker 1: No.
- 8:37Speaker 5: Don't take a rep in practice this week. And again,
- 8:41Speaker 5: I don't know how bad his injury, but it looked
- 8:43Speaker 5: pretty bad. They had to put a fake hamstring on him.
- 8:45Speaker 5: He threw on one leg last game.
- 8:47Speaker 1: Are you saying VR only this week?
- 8:50Speaker 5: I'm saying that hamstrings don't typically heal in two days.
- 8:54Speaker 5: When you have to get a fake hamstring put on
- 8:56Speaker 5: at halftime so you can walk. It didn't look like
- 9:01Speaker 5: an insignificant injury, and we've seen hamstrings that last months
- 9:06Speaker 5: on people. Especially the way Sam likes to run, and
- 9:09Speaker 5: that's part of his game.
- 9:11Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 9:15Speaker 5: What do y'all think he meant by this? It feels
- 9:17Speaker 5: like we played seven games.
- 9:18Speaker 6: No, it feels like we played a whole season.
- 9:19Speaker 1: He said it feels like we played a whole season.
- 9:21Speaker 1: In what way? He said he didn't.
- 9:23Speaker 6: He's never had this many injuries this early in the season.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Okay, from an injury standpoint.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:28Speaker 1: It feels like we played a whole season. We still
- 9:29Speaker 1: have seven SEC games left. Yeah. So maybe not two of.
- 9:34Speaker 5: Them being kind of freak injuries, non-contact, or kick coverage.
- 9:37Speaker 5: So maybe not an empty the clip on McNeese.
- 9:40Speaker 6: No, but defensively, secondary, I want as many reps for
- 9:45Speaker 6: the backups as possible because I think you were thin
- 9:48Speaker 6: in the secondary. Like, yeah, Michael Turner got a pick.
- 9:50Speaker 6: late in that ball game on Saturday.
- 9:52Speaker 1: He was a third corner in this game. Yeah, he was.
- 9:54Speaker 6: Well, he had to because of the Jackson injury. You
- 9:57Speaker 6: need reps there big time.
- 10:01Speaker 1: We're going to be in purple, aren't we? I have
- 10:03Speaker 1: no idea. I can try to find out. Actually, I
- 10:05Speaker 1: can find out. Give me a second. You don't know already?
- 10:09Speaker 1: I don't care to know until right now. This would
- 10:11Speaker 1: be like a big game for me.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Coach, question up here in the front. What color jerseys
- 10:17Speaker 2: y'all wearing?
- 10:17Speaker 1: Two-parter.
- 10:19Speaker 4: I got a two-part question. Both about uniforms. Landon Clark
- 10:23Speaker 4: going to start, and are we wearing purple? You think
- 10:27Speaker 4: Lane would actually know if we're wearing purple?
- 10:28Speaker 1: No. He doesn't feel like somebody that cares. Absolutely not.
- 10:32Speaker 4: That's schematical. I don't think he cares at all. This
- 10:38Speaker 4: would be a big game for me of people that
- 10:40Speaker 4: I want to see. I want to see Lamar Brown
- 10:43Speaker 4: play almost the full game. Richard Anderson play almost the
- 10:46Speaker 4: full game. I think Ty Singleton and Zach Weeks play
- 10:51Speaker 4: a lot. You're going to need both those guys at
- 10:54Speaker 4: some point.
- 10:55Speaker 1: So, you know, T.J.
- 10:56Speaker 4: Dottery, Devon Keyes, don't need to see a whole lot
- 10:59Speaker 4: of them. And I know Devon's stepping into a starting role.
- 11:01Speaker 4: Devon started games here before. He's played a lot of football.
- 11:04Speaker 4: I think Singleton and Weeks. And by the way, that's
- 11:07Speaker 4: all you have behind the starters. That's the list. Because
- 11:12Speaker 4: Witt's out and Charles Ross is out. That's your list
- 11:15Speaker 4: of scholarship linebackers.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Your safety spot as well, though.
- 11:19Speaker 6: I mean, outside of your top three guys, like I
- 11:22Speaker 6: need to see a lot of Fahim Delane this week.
- 11:24Speaker 1: He's going to play a ton. I mean, there's guys
- 11:27Speaker 1: in the secondary. Gosh, Isaiah Washington maybe. I don't know.
- 11:36Speaker 4: That's going to be a puzzle piece to figure out
- 11:39Speaker 4: the secondary in what we're talking about, getting guys out
- 11:43Speaker 4: of the game as soon as you can.
- 11:45Speaker 1: D-line, you're good. You're D-line.
- 11:48Speaker 4: Your backup D-line is going to get after McNeese. It's
- 11:50Speaker 4: a really good young unit.
- 11:53Speaker 5: Well, we do know that LSU does love being the
- 11:56Speaker 5: first to do things in college athletics. Should we try
- 12:00Speaker 5: to be the first team to make some trades midseason?
- 12:03Speaker 1: I knew when you were setting this up it was
- 12:05Speaker 1: going to be dumb. Why is that dumb? It's... It's
- 12:07Speaker 1: going to happen at some point. It's going to happen
- 12:09Speaker 1: at some point. Exactly.
- 12:10Speaker 5: It's not a dumb thing if it's going to happen.
- 12:12Speaker 5: It may not go through, but somebody's going to try.
- 12:14Speaker 2: We have so many receivers to use as leverage.
- 12:17Speaker 1: So many. Like 30. Trade with some of them coaches.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Trade a receiver and a coach for safety. Yeah. Make
- 12:27Speaker 1: it happen.
- 12:28Speaker 2: You got 78 coaches and 30 receivers.
- 12:30Speaker 1: That's right. Let's go. So many assets.
- 12:35Speaker 6: I'll give you a starting receiver and a defensive analyst
- 12:37Speaker 6: if you give me a safety.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Look, yes, I did say it.
- 12:40Speaker 5: It's a little bit of a joke, but I do
- 12:42Speaker 5: think it's going to happen at some point in college
- 12:44Speaker 5: athletics is.
- 12:44Speaker 1: You will be trading. We're not going to have trades
- 12:46Speaker 1: in this season. Why wouldn't you? Why?
- 12:49Speaker 4: Tell me.
- 12:49Speaker 1: We're not going to have trades in this season. Tell
- 12:52Speaker 1: me why. There's no way. There's no way college players
- 12:55Speaker 1: are going to make $ 4 million. In fairness, I.
- 12:57Speaker 6: Didn't think half the stuff that's happening now.
- 12:59Speaker 4: Well, they were making $ 4 million just under the table.
- 13:01Speaker 1: No, they weren't.
- 13:04Speaker 2: In some schools they were.
- 13:05Speaker 1: Maybe 4,000. I just wanted like some. I just wanted like.
- 13:10Speaker 2: How does it get some rent money?
- 13:11Speaker 1: Give me like a, give me a large pizza. Yeah.
- 13:15Speaker 1: I've been good. I'm good to go. A beer every
- 13:17Speaker 1: now and then. Yeah. We're a. Flat of beers and
- 13:21Speaker 1: a large pizza. Yeah, right. And not from. Kind of
- 13:24Speaker 1: almond milk. No, we don't. We don't do almond milk. No. No,
- 13:29Speaker 1: we do milk-milk.
- 13:30Speaker 2: That's not even real milk.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Yeah, to make our bones strong.
- 13:32Speaker 2: It's almond juice.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Yeah. We do milk for the calcium. Yeah. And the protein.
- 13:36Speaker 1: I don't know if you know this, but almonds....
- 13:39Speaker 2: Don't have nipples.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Don't have nipples. That's right. They don't. That's right. Some
- 13:44Speaker 1: people think they do. They don't. Common misconception.
- 13:49Speaker 2: I have to tell people at least once a day,
- 13:50Speaker 2: I know you think.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Almonds just be running around with their nipples out.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Almonds are getting milked, but they're not. They're getting squeezed
- 13:58Speaker 2: and juiced.
- 13:59Speaker 1: It's unbelievable what big almonds will, big almond corporation, what
- 14:04Speaker 1: they'll do to you. They're pissed right now with this conversation.
- 14:06Speaker 1: I know.
- 14:07Speaker 2: They're about to make us go off the air.
- 14:09Speaker 1: They're as powerful as PETA. They're going to be like,
- 14:12Speaker 1: find the transmitter site and damage it, please. Sir, it's
- 14:16Speaker 1: already really damaged. What do we do?
- 14:18Speaker 2: Don't worry.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Should we fix this for them?
- 14:20Speaker 2: There's a bunch of wasps.
- 14:21Speaker 1: We feel bad. Should we fix this for them? We
- 14:24Speaker 1: really need to turn this for them. The signal is horrible.
- 14:28Speaker 1: I got nipples, Greg. Can you milk me? Sure. Sir,
- 14:34Speaker 1: somebody beat us to it.
- 14:36Speaker 4: All right, last one before we take a break. There's
- 14:44Speaker 4: two people that should really want to thrive in this game,
- 14:48Speaker 4: more than anybody. Caden Durham and Harlan Berry.
- 14:52Speaker 6: I was going to say, like, Dylan Jones, I don't
- 14:55Speaker 6: need him getting 20Ks.
- 14:55Speaker 4: No, I don't.
- 14:55Speaker 3: Mm-mm.
- 14:57Speaker 1: I don't need him getting one. No. Like, Harlem Berry
- 15:00Speaker 1: and Caden Durham, let's go. Step up.
- 15:02Speaker 4: I know Harlem Berry had some yards. Harlem is playing
- 15:07Speaker 4: like a player that doesn't want to mess up right now.
- 15:10Speaker 1: And I've been there. This is not me throwing shade
- 15:12Speaker 1: at him.
- 15:13Speaker 4: I remember getting carries in the NFL in four minutes
- 15:16Speaker 4: when we're beating somebody and me not being myself at
- 15:19Speaker 4: running back.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Because you're like, oh, my gosh. Like, I don't want
- 15:22Speaker 1: to fumble.
- 15:22Speaker 4: I don't want to miss a hole. And so you
- 15:24Speaker 4: get like a two-yard run. When if you just played
- 15:27Speaker 4: like yourself, you'd get a seven-yard run. He's a step
- 15:29Speaker 4: slower than I know he is right now.
- 15:32Speaker 1: It's mental. It's not physical.
- 15:34Speaker 4: Right now he's mentally running the football not to mess up. And, again,
- 15:39Speaker 4: I know he had some yards. I know Harlan Berry.
- 15:41Speaker 4: I know he can be a player that is counted
- 15:43Speaker 4: on on this team. I want to see him let
- 15:46Speaker 4: it loose.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Let it go. Rip it. Play like you know you.
- 15:52Speaker 1: We've seen you do it. He played as a true
- 15:52Speaker 1: freshman in the SEC. Yes. Played well. And a bad offense.
- 15:57Speaker 4: Now, right now, there's a big difference when I watch
- 16:00Speaker 4: tape of number 13 and number 22. But as we
- 16:03Speaker 4: saw last week, they're starting to count on 22 a
- 16:06Speaker 4: little bit more. Like he was the second running back
- 16:09Speaker 4: in this game. This is a game for him mentally,
- 16:13Speaker 4: I think, to.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Clear a lot.
- 16:14Speaker 4: Go out, play full speed with your mind and your body.
- 16:18Speaker 4: Because if you don't play it with your mind, your
- 16:19Speaker 4: body's not going to follow. And again, I've been there.
- 16:22Speaker 4: I'm not throwing anything that I wouldn't throw at myself.
- 16:24Speaker 4: You've probably been there. When you got in, you don't
- 16:27Speaker 4: want to mess up, and you can't play like that.
- 16:29Speaker 4: And that feels like how he's playing right now.
- 16:31Speaker 5: And I've seen that clip on social media right now.
- 16:34Speaker 5: A lot of people playing that clip where he's the
- 16:37Speaker 5: lead blocker. Yeah, he's basically a boss play where he's.
- 16:40Speaker 5: So he's, and everybody's just absolutely going poo-poo on him.
- 16:43Speaker 5: And I'm like, look, this is a play that was
- 16:46Speaker 5: put in. This is the type of play, because you
- 16:47Speaker 5: can see him doing a check. They do a hands check.
- 16:49Speaker 5: I don't know if it's a flip or it's an
- 16:50Speaker 5: alert check. It's a specific check they had to a
- 16:53Speaker 5: specific look. And it was probably something they put in
- 16:55Speaker 5: on Tuesday. It was a play they put in on Tuesday,
- 16:58Speaker 5: and he probably didn't rep it in practice. Now, they
- 17:01Speaker 5: went over it, but it's one of these new plays
- 17:03Speaker 5: that they put in, and it took a second to
- 17:06Speaker 5: hit his brain exactly on what to do and how
- 17:09Speaker 5: to execute. It didn't seem like it was a base play,
- 17:11Speaker 5: and it wasn't a called original play. It was a
- 17:13Speaker 5: check two right before the snap. And he was just
- 17:16Speaker 5: slow because he just couldn't rep. So I was like, man,
- 17:19Speaker 5: y'all are poo-pooing on the wrong thing.
- 17:20Speaker 1: I get it.
- 17:21Speaker 5: Not a great play, and they wanted him to do better.
- 17:23Speaker 5: And the guy that got the reps all week in
- 17:25Speaker 5: practice is probably the one that did that. Probably Dylan Jones.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Yeah. But I hear you. I do. But I'd also
- 17:30Speaker 1: say if you're going to mess up, mess up full speed. Yeah.
- 17:33Speaker 1: He was second guessing.
- 17:33Speaker 4: Because if you don't know what you're supposed to do
- 17:36Speaker 4: and you patrol the area like that, it's going.
- 17:39Speaker 1: To be a bad play. For sure.
- 17:40Speaker 4: If you go like a bat out of hell and
- 17:41Speaker 4: just hit somebody, it's going to be a better play.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Yep. It looked like he got confused between that and
- 17:48Speaker 1: another play. He did. 100%. He didn't know who to block.
- 17:50Speaker 4: Inside or outside so then he just patrolled the area
- 17:52Speaker 4: didn't block anybody yeah go run through somebody's face full
- 17:55Speaker 4: speed and then you'll get a negative check mark as
- 17:57Speaker 4: far as your assignment but you'll also get a positive
- 17:59Speaker 4: check mark as you.
- 18:00Speaker 5: Hit them i just seen a lot of people say
- 18:01Speaker 5: this is why he's not he's just playing a lot
- 18:03Speaker 5: slower than he did last year and i was like
- 18:04Speaker 5: he got confused on a play that was probably installed
- 18:07Speaker 5: midweek and it was an audible to like i get
- 18:09Speaker 5: it like i think that one's excusable his is.
- 18:11Speaker 4: What i'm telling you i've been i know it's his
- 18:13Speaker 4: mind i know he's thinking about gosh, I'm getting so
- 18:17Speaker 4: few opportunities.
- 18:18Speaker 1: I've got to go hit a big play with every
- 18:20Speaker 1: single carry. And you don't.
- 18:23Speaker 4: If you get four carries and you go four, seven, three, nine,
- 18:27Speaker 4: the coaches are fired up.
- 18:29Speaker 1: You know what I mean? That's when they get fired up.
- 18:31Speaker 1: So hopefully he's going to get a chance.
- 18:34Speaker 4: Caden Durham's going to get a chance to get back
- 18:35Speaker 4: out there and kind of let go and let God,
- 18:38Speaker 4: as they say.
- 18:39Speaker 1: You know? Yeah, I know.
- 18:41Speaker 4: All right, let's take a break. More OTB when we
- 18:43Speaker 4: come back here live from the Raising Cane Studios.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Off the bench. All right, go to FABT.com. FABT.com.
- 18:49Speaker 4: First American Bank and Trust has been in the game
- 18:51Speaker 4: for over 100 years. You don't stay in business in
- 18:53Speaker 4: the banking business for over 100 years unless you're doing
- 18:56Speaker 4: things the right way, and that's what they're going to
- 18:57Speaker 4: do for you over at FABT.
- 19:00Speaker 1: So remember, you're not just an account number. You are
- 19:02Speaker 1: a name. You are a face. You are a relationship
- 19:05Speaker 1: with them.
- 19:05Speaker 4: And so when you're dealing with your money, you want
- 19:08Speaker 4: to deal with somebody that cares about you, and that's
- 19:10Speaker 4: what First American Bank and Trust is always going to do.
- 19:13Speaker 1: FABT.com. Do you think they've only done it for like
- 19:16Speaker 1: one generation of people? Nope. Probably maybe two. Multiple. I
- 19:20Speaker 1: would say three, maybe four. I'd say probably four. Probably four. 1910,
- 19:23Speaker 1: since before the Titanic set sail. Not a big deal.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Multiple years. Before the Great War.
- 19:28Speaker 5: They've been dealing with people right here in Louisiana, dealing
- 19:30Speaker 5: with families, dealing with businesses. And yeah, you can do
- 19:32Speaker 5: bank accounts, credit cards, checking accounts. You got all the
- 19:35Speaker 5: bells and whistles right there. Online banking, they got everything.
- 19:38Speaker 5: But it's like... If you want to deal with somebody
- 19:39Speaker 5: for a loan, if it's a commercial loan for your business,
- 19:41Speaker 5: your Louisiana business, you want to deal with a Louisiana bank,
- 19:44Speaker 5: not somebody on the left coast over there.
- 19:46Speaker 1: First American Bank of Trust, FABT.com.
- 19:56Speaker 7: Off the bench with jacob hester and matt flynn presented
- 20:00Speaker 7: by community steel.
- 20:15Speaker 8: All right, welcome back here.
- 20:18Speaker 2: Off the bench.
- 20:42Speaker 5: I'll tell you about our friends over at Catalyst. When
- 20:44Speaker 5: you think about Louisiana, you think about energy. One company
- 20:46Speaker 5: helping shape the future is Catalyst. Catalyst developing the Commonwealth
- 20:50Speaker 5: LNG export facility over there in Cameron Parish, connecting American
- 20:53Speaker 5: natural gas with customers around the world. But it's about
- 20:57Speaker 5: more than just exporting energy. It's about creating local jobs,
- 21:01Speaker 5: supporting local businesses, strengthening communities, and reinforcing Louisiana's position as
- 21:05Speaker 5: one of the world's leading energy hubs through its natural
- 21:09Speaker 5: gas production and the Commonwealth LNG project. Caterus is helping
- 21:12Speaker 5: build an integrated energy platform that connects domestic resources with
- 21:16Speaker 5: growing global demand. As construction continues on Louisiana's Gulf coast,
- 21:21Speaker 5: Caterus is proud to invest in American energy, American workers,
- 21:23Speaker 5: and a stronger economic future. Caterus connecting Louisiana energy to
- 21:27Speaker 5: the world. I just did some air squats.
- 21:31Speaker 1: I was out of breath.
- 21:32Speaker 4: Yeah. I just laid on the ground. Oh, my back hurts.
- 21:36Speaker 4: I was trying to stretch like an old man. It's
- 21:39Speaker 4: not great. Um, I was wondering, like, the chat. I
- 21:43Speaker 4: was like, man, we haven't gotten anything in a while. Like,
- 21:45Speaker 4: what's going on here?
- 21:46Speaker 1: I hit refresh. I guess my computer. I don't know. Whatever.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Internet's great here.
- 21:52Speaker 4: Sure.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Missed a lot. Oh, yeah? Weird. Missed it a lot.
- 21:58Speaker 4: Like, going back to the almond milk talk. Brian says,
- 22:01Speaker 4: nothing wrong with almond milk. I use it to make smoothies.
- 22:05Speaker 2: So it's not milk.
- 22:06Speaker 1: It's just not milk. Yeah, it's just. It doesn't have
- 22:08Speaker 1: near the benefits. It's nut juice. Yeah, it doesn't have
- 22:11Speaker 1: near the benefits that. Milk from a cow does. I
- 22:13Speaker 1: would just say this. No self-describing meathead is going to
- 22:17Speaker 1: drink all the milk.
- 22:18Speaker 5: So people used to give me arguments about cow's milk
- 22:20Speaker 5: and stuff. They'd be like, you don't drink cow's milk
- 22:23Speaker 5: after infancy because we're the only species, we're the only
- 22:27Speaker 5: mammal on planet Earth that drinks it past infancy, drinks milk.
- 22:32Speaker 5: We're also the only species that can read and write
- 22:35Speaker 5: and talk and make medicine and play football.
- 22:38Speaker 6: Just walk on just two legs.
- 22:40Speaker 5: That's why we're kind of the top of the food chain.
- 22:43Speaker 1: A lot of things we can do. Maybe the other
- 22:45Speaker 1: animals should do that. I can't believe how much I'm
- 22:48Speaker 1: missing this chat.
- 22:51Speaker 5: We brought up almond milk because yesterday we were talking
- 22:53Speaker 5: about all the injuries, not just with LSU, but in
- 22:56Speaker 5: the NFL, in college, it seems like every star player
- 22:59Speaker 5: is getting hurt. I said this generation was raised on
- 23:02Speaker 5: almond milk and it shows.
- 23:06Speaker 4: I think I missed a comment about laying that, giving
- 23:09Speaker 4: away stuff in press conferences. I actually, like, I get it. Like,
- 23:12Speaker 4: schematic stuff, I don't know you're going to make fun
- 23:13Speaker 4: of it, but I don't know. I appreciate, like, the
- 23:16Speaker 4: competitive advantage. I'm not going to tell you where I'm
- 23:18Speaker 4: going to move guys. Like, we didn't know Ty Benefield
- 23:21Speaker 4: was going to play nickel really until, like, later. Like,
- 23:24Speaker 4: you know, we got, like, some flip charts, like, for
- 23:27Speaker 4: the radio and stuff, but, like, we didn't broadcast it
- 23:30Speaker 4: out there, and it wasn't known to the public until, like,
- 23:33Speaker 4: game time really.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Yeah. Is it make a difference? Probably not.
- 23:37Speaker 4: But still, you're going to hold those things close to
- 23:40Speaker 4: you because Texas A & M has to prepare for
- 23:43Speaker 4: somebody else playing it and Ty's a different player.
- 23:45Speaker 1: So I get it. I do. I get it.
- 23:47Speaker 5: I think coaches do sometimes think a little bit too
- 23:54Speaker 5: much of the secrecy.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Oh, I mean. A little bit. Yeah. But I would
- 23:58Speaker 1: do the same thing. Yeah. It's a little chess. Yeah.
- 24:00Speaker 1: I mean, it's just messing with somebody.
- 24:03Speaker 5: But just because one guy's in a nickel, it's not
- 24:07Speaker 5: going to change somebody's.
- 24:08Speaker 1: Game plan, you know?
- 24:09Speaker 5: I mean, if they have a completely different skill set.
- 24:16Speaker 1: Maybe like, yes.
- 24:17Speaker 5: But does anybody that we're going to plug in there
- 24:18Speaker 5: have a completely different skill set than somebody else?
- 24:24Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 24:24Speaker 3: He said he plugged him in there because he's the
- 24:27Speaker 3: most similar to Deshaun.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:29Speaker 4: And he gave some high praise to Deshaun, too. He's like,
- 24:32Speaker 4: he just does so many things. And I was talking
- 24:35Speaker 4: with one of the coaches on the field before the game.
- 24:37Speaker 4: It was funny because we were going over some of
- 24:39Speaker 4: the things that we talked about on Eye in the Sky.
- 24:42Speaker 4: And we're just talking like different coverages or whatever, like
- 24:44Speaker 4: how many plays were like right there.
- 24:46Speaker 1: And he's like, everyone I brought up, he's like, duh. Like,
- 24:50Speaker 1: oh my gosh, you're right.
- 24:52Speaker 4: But he talked about, he's like, man, people just don't
- 24:54Speaker 4: realize how many things Spears could do for us and
- 24:57Speaker 4: his length and His aggression and all that.
- 24:59Speaker 1: So they had a big, big loss.
- 25:01Speaker 4: And so you needed a real playmaker, I think, to
- 25:04Speaker 4: try to replicate what you lost there.
- 25:06Speaker 6: Last Monday, after the Ole Miss loss, like when Tredez
- 25:09Speaker 6: and Deshaun both got hurt, Lane said these guys are
- 25:12Speaker 6: maybe the two most unique guys on the team. He's like,
- 25:15Speaker 6: they're so unique in what they can do. So, I mean, yeah,
- 25:17Speaker 6: they think a lot of Deshaun.
- 25:20Speaker 2: I was really sad when he went down.
- 25:22Speaker 1: I knew as soon as he did. Friendly fire, which
- 25:25Speaker 1: that's what got Witt, too. Yeah.
- 25:27Speaker 4: It's always going to get you. Like, when you get
- 25:29Speaker 4: friendly fire, it's like six weeks, year long.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Yeah, and it usually hurts because you're not, like, bracing
- 25:35Speaker 1: for it.
- 25:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:36Speaker 1: Because you don't expect it.
- 25:37Speaker 6: Right.
- 25:39Speaker 3: Brutal.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Darn it.
- 25:43Speaker 4: In the chat, my dentist actually said milk is only
- 25:45Speaker 4: good for baby cows.
- 25:46Speaker 1: Well, your dentist is weak.
- 25:47Speaker 6: Your dentist should stick to teeth.
- 25:49Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, stick to teeth, bud.
- 25:52Speaker 6: Like, no offense, like, what's your dentist know about milk?
- 25:55Speaker 1: Yeah, has he ever studied milk?
- 25:56Speaker 4: Well, I mean.
- 25:57Speaker 1: I don't think so.
- 25:58Speaker 3: I feel like maybe he would know something because maybe
- 26:02Speaker 3: it has to do with your teeth.
- 26:02Speaker 1: I don't worry about teeth. I worry about staying on
- 26:06Speaker 1: a football field. I'm just saying maybe he gets fake teeth.
- 26:11Speaker 1: Fake teeth.
- 26:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:14Speaker 1: That's what they make veneers for. That's what I'm trying. Hey,
- 26:17Speaker 1: dentist out there. Stick to teeth, not milk. Yeah.
- 26:25Speaker 2: Don't dentist my milk.
- 26:27Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, I drink a minimum of a glass of
- 26:31Speaker 1: milk a day. Not my dentist. Yeah.
- 26:35Speaker 2: I'm not a big milk person.
- 26:37Speaker 1: I drink a gallon a day for the first, I
- 26:40Speaker 1: don't know, 20 years of my life.
- 26:41Speaker 6: My dad still drinks it recreationally, and it bothers me
- 26:43Speaker 6: a little bit.
- 26:44Speaker 1: What?
- 26:45Speaker 6: I don't drink it. Like, I'm never going to pour
- 26:47Speaker 6: myself a glass of milk, but, like, chill down with
- 26:50Speaker 6: some cereal, man.
- 26:51Speaker 1: Hell yeah, Moe. Like, in our house growing up, spaghetti, milk. Pizza, milk.
- 26:58Speaker 1: We had a lot of milk going up. What are
- 27:00Speaker 1: you having for dinner? Joey's pouring you a glass of milk.
- 27:03Speaker 1: I don't do it a ton now. I love it.
- 27:06Speaker 2: Call up Dennis Matt Mock and ask him. True, he
- 27:09Speaker 2: is a Dennis.
- 27:09Speaker 1: Well, Matt Mock had Liz Frank. Them bones weren't very strong.
- 27:15Speaker 1: That's fair. I don't know, Matt. What do you think?
- 27:21Speaker 1: I don't know. Matt looks like he eats a little
- 27:23Speaker 1: bit of avocado toast these days. I am clipping that
- 27:30Speaker 1: and sending it. He's looking a little Tom Brady-ish right now.
- 27:33Speaker 1: Matt Mott, Tom Brady. Who can tell the difference? Too
- 27:37Speaker 1: much cheekbones. A lot of cheekbones up there in Denver.
- 27:40Speaker 1: Getting rid of that. What is it? The buccal fat.
- 27:45Speaker 1: The what?
- 27:47Speaker 2: Buccal or buccal?
- 27:48Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know anything about this. I
- 27:49Speaker 1: think it's buccal fat. It's like the little cheek. It's
- 27:51Speaker 1: the cheek thing.
- 27:52Speaker 3: And that's why everybody's cheeks look hollow now because they
- 27:54Speaker 3: get the fat removed from it.
- 27:56Speaker 1: Really?
- 27:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 27:56Speaker 1: You don't just have like the jaws are size anymore?
- 27:58Speaker 1: I didn't know it had a name. This is awesome. Yeah.
- 28:02Speaker 1: Jaws are size works. Me and Bobby Carpenter have been
- 28:04Speaker 1: on that thing. Know that name? Yeah. Where you bite
- 28:10Speaker 1: the rubber ball pretty much? It works down right here, yeah. Nice.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Love that.
- 28:14Speaker 5: If you just clench your jaw from stress, it does
- 28:16Speaker 5: the same thing. That's what I do. That's what I do.
- 28:21Speaker 5: I just get super stressed out when.
- 28:23Speaker 1: I can't make a card deal. Bite down really hard.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Talking to you, Troy.
- 28:32Speaker 2: You called him out by name?
- 28:33Speaker 1: Not last name. That's my middle name. Not Aikman. Too
- 28:37Speaker 1: much respect for that, man. And not Troy LaBeouf, who
- 28:39Speaker 1: used to fill in for us all the time.
- 28:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 28:42Speaker 1: Shout out. Shout out, Troy. Troy Aikman would never back
- 28:46Speaker 1: out on a card deal. All right. I know we
- 28:49Speaker 1: got a break. We got OTB mailbag. I guess we
- 28:51Speaker 1: can do a little film, too. This is going to
- 28:54Speaker 1: be random though. Troy Aikman, giant human. Is he?
- 28:58Speaker 2: I feel like he was.
- 28:59Speaker 1: Giant human. I mean, like, everything about, like, hands, head, shoulders.
- 29:05Speaker 1: Giant human. Knees, toes. Great guy. Great guy. Eyes, ears.
- 29:11Speaker 4: He is, like, he's one of the few people that
- 29:14Speaker 4: will actually call out some BS on a broadcast, too.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Like, that's not a penalty.
- 29:18Speaker 5: He was not a big fan of Ben Johnson going
- 29:20Speaker 5: for it on fourth down inside the five yesterday.
- 29:23Speaker 1: And he wouldn't let it go.
- 29:25Speaker 4: I know, but I do like that he's not a robot.
- 29:30Speaker 4: There's so many that they'll show a replay, and the
- 29:33Speaker 4: guy will be grabbing the other guy's face mask and like.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Pulling it, and they won't mention it. Just talk about
- 29:39Speaker 1: the play. I'm like. Yeah. Troy and Buck are the best.
- 29:41Speaker 1: I think so, too. All right. OTB mailbag when we
- 29:45Speaker 1: come back.
- 29:46Speaker 4: And then to finish up this hour, we're going to
- 29:48Speaker 4: show you one little preview of what we've got coming
- 29:50Speaker 4: up down the road on Eye in the Sky later today.
- 29:52Speaker 1: And we'll do it right here on OTB.
- 29:54Speaker 8: Off the bench.
- 29:56Speaker 1: All right, go to getgordon.com.

- 31:16Speaker 2: You want to feel how it feels.
- 31:19Speaker 7: Off the Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn, presented
- 31:23Speaker 7: by Community Steel.
- 31:24Speaker 1: You want to hear about the deal that may give you.
- 31:34Speaker 1: It's you and me.
- 31:38Speaker 4: And if I. All right, welcome back in, OTB. Going
- 31:56Speaker 4: to give you a couple of minutes here to get
- 31:58Speaker 4: some OTB mailbag questions inside the chat.
- 32:02Speaker 1: Just hashtag OTB mailbag.
- 32:04Speaker 4: And as we're waiting on those, we want to remind
- 32:05Speaker 4: you about our friends over at K to Z. K
- 32:08Speaker 4: to Z, interiors and outdoor living. K to Z blinds.com.
- 32:11Speaker 4: K-T-O-Z blinds.com. Have Brandon Barton and team come out to
- 32:14Speaker 4: your space. They're going to know your space, learn your space,
- 32:17Speaker 4: change your space in a matter of minutes. They have
- 32:20Speaker 4: done it for me. They certainly will do it for
- 32:21Speaker 4: you as well. It's inside, it's outside, it's outside, it's inside.
- 32:24Speaker 4: And as we tell you every single day, sometimes it's
- 32:27Speaker 4: a little bit of both, even when you don't expect it.
- 32:30Speaker 4: Like for us, our outdoor motorized screen, when we put
- 32:32Speaker 4: it down, it shades not only the patio, but the
- 32:34Speaker 4: living room as well.
- 32:36Speaker 1: Go to ktozblinds.com, ktozblinds.com. All right, let's go ahead and
- 32:43Speaker 1: get to some OTB mailbags. I have this special delivery
- 32:48Speaker 1: for Dr.
- 32:49Speaker 3: Bench.
- 32:49Speaker 1: And look, it is marked most urgent. We'll be writing
- 32:52Speaker 1: to you. The internet. What the f * * *
- 32:55Speaker 1: is the internet?
- 33:00Speaker 9: Alright, hashtag OTB mailbag.
- 33:11Speaker 1: What are Flynn's thoughts on coconut milk? Um, don't care
- 33:15Speaker 1: for it.
- 33:17Speaker 5: Actually, any of this stuff, I'll put it in a
- 33:20Speaker 5: smoothie if it's available, if real milk's not available. I
- 33:23Speaker 5: don't raise my nose to anything.
- 33:28Speaker 1: I get it. I just prefer milk from a cow.
- 33:30Speaker 5: I don't think you should be exclusively one thing.
- 33:36Speaker 1: Ever.
- 33:36Speaker 5: Exclusively coconut milk, almond milk. And I don't do it
- 33:40Speaker 5: because you don't want to have cow's milk.
- 33:43Speaker 1: Silly. Strengthen those bones and teeth, dentists. Yeah. Matt Mock.
- 33:48Speaker 6: Do you at least consider it milk? Because, like, it's
- 33:50Speaker 6: just the liquid inside the coconut. What do we call that?
- 33:55Speaker 2: But isn't there coconut water, too?
- 33:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:58Speaker 2: So what's the difference?
- 34:00Speaker 1: They make one of them white. Hashtag OTB mailbag.
- 34:06Speaker 4: Will Clark start this weekend for LSU so Levitt can
- 34:10Speaker 4: heal up?
- 34:10Speaker 1: Hope so. Pretty schematical, but I don't think there's a
- 34:17Speaker 1: Certainly a possibility of that.
- 34:20Speaker 5: I would hope that there's a high probability that Landon
- 34:23Speaker 5: Clark starts. Again, Sam had to put a fake hamstring on.
- 34:27Speaker 5: And legit, like we call it a fake hamstring, it
- 34:30Speaker 5: is you put tape at your waist right here, and
- 34:35Speaker 5: you tape down a very strong rubber band, and then
- 34:38Speaker 5: you run it down the leg where your hamstring is,
- 34:40Speaker 5: and you tape below the knee. You tape it down,
- 34:43Speaker 5: and it acts as an artificial hamstring.
- 34:47Speaker 1: I had to do it. Sure you had to do it.
- 34:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 34:51Speaker 1: And there, they put that on at halftime. You could
- 34:52Speaker 1: see it. I mean, breaking news.
- 34:54Speaker 5: You could see it coming out of his football pants.
- 34:57Speaker 1: Yeah. Hashtag O2B mailbag on Monday Night Football.
- 35:02Speaker 4: They showed Keenum had more yards and completions in college
- 35:06Speaker 4: versus his 14 years in the NFL. Does Flynn know
- 35:10Speaker 4: if he had more passing yards, completions, and touchdowns in
- 35:13Speaker 4: college or the NFL?
- 35:14Speaker 1: All right. I would assume in college. I mean, I did.
- 35:20Speaker 1: I had more in college. Yeah.
- 35:21Speaker 4: I had like 700 total yards in the NFL.
- 35:25Speaker 1: I would assume in college. I was there for a
- 35:26Speaker 1: sixth offensive lineman. I think, I mean, shoot, I think
- 35:31Speaker 1: I only had six, seven starts, eight starts. I don't know.
- 35:35Speaker 1: In the NFL. You had. Not because I didn't want to, though.
- 35:40Speaker 1: I think I played in 65 games. Really wanted to
- 35:43Speaker 1: start a lot.
- 35:45Speaker 6: You had 25-41 yards while I was in the NFL.
- 35:48Speaker 4: 25-41?
- 35:48Speaker 1: 25-41, and you had 3,096 in college.
- 35:51Speaker 6: You were close.
- 35:53Speaker 8: I was pretty close. But college beats it. I was
- 35:57Speaker 8: way more in college. I did a lot of coaching
- 36:02Speaker 8: from the sidelines.
- 36:03Speaker 1: Mailbag.
- 36:05Speaker 4: Why hasn't Matt apologized for Purdue plus 27 and a half?
- 36:08Speaker 1: I don't need to apologize. Key injuries. We talked about it.
- 36:14Speaker 1: Key injuries. Can't avoid them.
- 36:17Speaker 2: Pisses me off.
- 36:19Speaker 1: It shouldn't. No, it also pisses me off.
- 36:22Speaker 2: Why shouldn't it?
- 36:23Speaker 1: No, you didn't. Hold up.
- 36:24Speaker 4: When we said our picks, we all hated the pick
- 36:28Speaker 4: at the time, and then all three of us hit, and.
- 36:31Speaker 1: You didn't hit.
- 36:31Speaker 4: You can apologize for betting with your heart and not
- 36:35Speaker 4: your mind.
- 36:36Speaker 5: If I hate y'all's pick this week, When y'all pick
- 36:40Speaker 5: them and they don't hit, are y'all going to apologize
- 36:42Speaker 5: to me?
- 36:43Speaker 4: No, because two weeks in a row that yours has
- 36:44Speaker 4: not hit and ours has. Y'all never miss one two
- 36:46Speaker 4: weeks in a row?
- 36:47Speaker 1: I can't remember. Not when everybody else has hit. Not
- 36:49Speaker 1: when everybody else has hit.
- 36:51Speaker 3: If this week I pick something and y'all don't like
- 36:54Speaker 3: the pick and it doesn't hit, yes, I will be like,
- 36:56Speaker 3: my bad, guys.
- 36:57Speaker 1: Yeah, no doubt.
- 36:59Speaker 2: I messed up the pontoon parlay.
- 37:00Speaker 1: That's on me. Are you Brendan Sorsby? Feels like it.
- 37:02Speaker 5: Yeah, but we also don't poo-poo on you all over
- 37:06Speaker 5: you before you do that.
- 37:08Speaker 2: I would hope I didn't get poo-pooed.
- 37:09Speaker 1: All over on me. Hashtag OTV mailbag.
- 37:14Speaker 4: How many four grown men would it take to capture
- 37:17Speaker 4: a grizzly bear?
- 37:18Speaker 1: No way. It depends on the size.
- 37:21Speaker 2: The four of us in this room right now.
- 37:22Speaker 1: Let's see. One James Harrison. Is it the alpha? Alpha grizzly?
- 37:27Speaker 6: Average. We'll go male because it's bigger. Average male grizzly bear,
- 37:32Speaker 6: four to 600 pounds.
- 37:33Speaker 2: Okay, but the strength is what matters.
- 37:36Speaker 6: I was going to say 10. Maybe 10 guys. You
- 37:40Speaker 6: should probably almost double in the weight.
- 37:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:43Speaker 6: How does the strength ratio work? 10 to 12, maybe?
- 37:46Speaker 5: I think if you found one guy that was really
- 37:50Speaker 5: feisty and strong, they could jump right in the center
- 37:52Speaker 5: of his back where it couldn't get to you.
- 37:54Speaker 1: That's James Harrison.
- 37:56Speaker 5: But it's probably too big. It could probably find a
- 37:59Speaker 5: piece of James.
- 38:00Speaker 1: That's true. A lat. Yeah, he'd find a lat. You'd
- 38:02Speaker 1: have to get someone really a little bit smaller, pound
- 38:05Speaker 1: for pound, very strong. Ed Reed? Like a rock climber.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Like an Ed Reed type?
- 38:10Speaker 4: Maybe.
- 38:10Speaker 5: Get a rock climber to jump on the back of
- 38:13Speaker 5: the bear's back, right in the center. It ain't going anywhere,
- 38:16Speaker 5: and it's going to distract him while I can come in.
- 38:18Speaker 1: And throat punch him.
- 38:19Speaker 3: So a silverback gorilla can lift up to 1,800 pounds
- 38:24Speaker 3: of dead weight, which is roughly four to nine times
- 38:27Speaker 3: the strength of an average human male.
- 38:29Speaker 2: So we would need at.
- 38:32Speaker 1: Least 20. Yeah, it'd take a lot.
- 38:37Speaker 2: Bite force estimated at around 1,300 PSI.
- 38:41Speaker 1: They've never calculated my bite force.
- 38:42Speaker 2: More than double the bite force of a lion.
- 38:44Speaker 1: Because we drink milk and those teeth are strong. Dennis.
- 38:50Speaker 1: Hashtag OTB mailbag.
- 38:53Speaker 4: Given what we saw last night, do you think you
- 38:55Speaker 4: can throw for 300 yards in an NFL game right now?
- 38:59Speaker 1: You said you could.
- 39:00Speaker 4: All fair. Don't lie to these people. You said it
- 39:05Speaker 4: makes me think I could do it.
- 39:06Speaker 5: It makes me think I could do it. I could
- 39:09Speaker 5: throw for 700 in college right now. I feel very confident.
- 39:15Speaker 5: Not in NFL. I'd take some cooking. It'd take a
- 39:19Speaker 5: little bit. Case has never stopped playing.
- 39:22Speaker 1: Right. Yeah, he's always been on a team. Yeah, no.
- 39:24Speaker 5: I think in– This would be like a Phillip Rivers situation.
- 39:27Speaker 1: Yeah, in people's brains, I feel like they think they
- 39:29Speaker 1: can do anything. anything. In reality, no. In my brain, yes.
- 39:34Speaker 1: But in college, I could throw for 700. I couldn't.
- 39:40Speaker 1: I don't think I.
- 39:40Speaker 4: I mean, I would know where to go, but I
- 39:43Speaker 4: don't think I could get there in time to run
- 39:44Speaker 4: for 100.
- 39:47Speaker 1: I would route a linebacker up. No doubt. Because college
- 39:51Speaker 1: linebackers can't cover. No. And if you know how to
- 39:56Speaker 1: run a route, it doesn't matter how slow it is,
- 39:58Speaker 1: you can get open. I saw that flag football game
- 40:00Speaker 1: last year. Yeah. Had a couple connections. Hashtag O2B mailbag.
- 40:07Speaker 1: What's your favorite cereal? That changes.
- 40:09Speaker 2: It does change.
- 40:10Speaker 1: Growing up, it was Cocoa Krispies. Because I liked when
- 40:12Speaker 1: it was chocolate. Wow.
- 40:15Speaker 2: Honestly, I could not tell you the last time I
- 40:16Speaker 2: had some cereal.
- 40:17Speaker 1: Yeah, it's been a while for me. It's been a
- 40:18Speaker 1: minute for me, too, and I used to be every night. Like,
- 40:20Speaker 1: I went away from that. Just can't be having those calories. Underrated.
- 40:23Speaker 2: I like that craved cereal.
- 40:25Speaker 1: Yeah, it's good. A little chocolate.
- 40:27Speaker 2: Yeah, the chocolate on the inside.
- 40:28Speaker 3: I used to love the Reese's one.
- 40:32Speaker 1: It's a lot. I used to love it. That's a
- 40:35Speaker 1: big boy. Back in the day. You go with the
- 40:37Speaker 1: kiss strategy. You just keep it simple, stupid. Yeah. All right, honey,
- 40:39Speaker 1: a cherry. It's just something. Frosted flakes. Oh, yeah. Lucky jar.
- 40:44Speaker 1: Some banana. It's really great. I'll put a banana in
- 40:46Speaker 1: a Frosted Flake and in Cocoa Krispies. Yeah.
- 40:50Speaker 6: I do love Lucky Charms, too.
- 40:51Speaker 1: Keep the fruit out my cereal. Not your cereal? Not
- 40:55Speaker 1: my cereal.
- 40:57Speaker 6: What about fruit flavor?
- 41:00Speaker 1: I used to, like, have Lucky Charms all the time
- 41:02Speaker 1: in training camp.
- 41:03Speaker 2: Yeah, Lucky Charms were.
- 41:04Speaker 5: They didn't have it in Seattle when I got there.
- 41:06Speaker 5: I was like, I'm going to go ahead and need
- 41:07Speaker 5: you to get me a box of that.
- 41:08Speaker 1: You should have known right from that moment. Yeah. Hashtag
- 41:10Speaker 1: O2B mailbag. Ketchup on scrambled eggs or not? No. No.
- 41:14Speaker 1: I'll put some hot sauce on there. Hot sauce is fine.
- 41:16Speaker 2: There's not a lot I put ketchup on.
- 41:17Speaker 1: I love ketchup, but not on eggs. A breakfast hash brown? Yeah. Yeah,
- 41:23Speaker 1: a little bit. All right. A little bit.
- 41:25Speaker 4: Last one, and maybe we actually come back and finish
- 41:27Speaker 4: these before we get to the film.
- 41:28Speaker 1: Hashtag O2B mailbag.
- 41:29Speaker 4: If Flynn's pick doesn't hit this week, he has to
- 41:31Speaker 4: drink a glass of almond milk.
- 41:34Speaker 1: Oh. Not going to happen. That means it's a coin
- 41:37Speaker 1: toss whether I'm going to drink almond milk or not. Deal?
- 41:39Speaker 4: No.
- 41:40Speaker 2: Deal that's kind of how bets work no.
- 41:44Speaker 4: Your chin's real weak today okay all right we'll take
- 41:46Speaker 4: a break wait to some more questions when we come.
- 41:48Speaker 1: Back yeah i will all right fine more otb.
- 41:54Speaker 7: Off the bench all right go to gcopnet.com gcopnet.com four

- 43:11Speaker 7: Off the Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn, presented
- 43:15Speaker 7: by Community Steel.
- 43:16Speaker 1: All right, welcome back in.
- 43:27Speaker 4: OTB Tuesday Show is brought to you by Community Steel, communitysteelco.com,
- 43:32Speaker 4: right there in Gonzales, Louisiana, building sheetings components, communitysteelco.com.
- 43:41Speaker 1: Hashtag OTB mailbag. Did Hester get in the OTB-ism? Let me...
- 43:48Speaker 1: Wrong my rights.
- 43:48Speaker 4: I think it was... How did I phrase it? I
- 43:50Speaker 4: don't think I phrased it like that. I think I said,
- 43:54Speaker 4: let me right my wrongs.
- 43:57Speaker 2: I don't remember what the OTB-ism was supposed to be.
- 43:59Speaker 1: Yeah. Now, I didn't say it in Boyz II Men. Oh, okay.
- 44:03Speaker 2: That's what it was.
- 44:03Speaker 1: I did not say it in Boyz II Men. But
- 44:05Speaker 1: I did say, let me right my wrongs. I did.
- 44:08Speaker 3: Uh.
- 44:10Speaker 1: I messed up on something, yeah, and I quickly, like,
- 44:13Speaker 1: said it. But I did not sing in Boyz II
- 44:16Speaker 1: Men deep bass, baby. None of that. Should have, though.
- 44:22Speaker 1: I mean, the game was well over when I said it.
- 44:27Speaker 4: I feel like it would only take a few of
- 44:29Speaker 4: us to take T-Bob down.
- 44:30Speaker 1: It'd take one of us. I actually saw....
- 44:38Speaker 4: I think it was, like, you in the pool your
- 44:41Speaker 4: birthday when we had a couple cold pops.
- 44:43Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, I took a nap. That's right. Got after
- 44:45Speaker 1: a little bit. I had to apologize afterwards. I got
- 44:50Speaker 1: a little aggressive for a friendly wrestling match. Did you
- 44:56Speaker 1: see Case Keenum take a shot at PFF last night? Oh,
- 44:58Speaker 1: I did not. Hell, yeah.
- 45:00Speaker 5: I don't know the context, but I see the quote here.
- 45:03Speaker 5: Case Keenum's at the podium saying, no sacks tonight.
- 45:07Speaker 1: It was a penalty, though, right? I didn't.
- 45:09Speaker 4: That didn't count. PFF may count those, I guess. I
- 45:13Speaker 4: don't know. I'm glad you mentioned that. That is something
- 45:17Speaker 4: that I did want to bring up. I don't think
- 45:21Speaker 4: we have time here right now, but we certainly do
- 45:23Speaker 4: at some point today. Actually, maybe before we get to
- 45:25Speaker 4: the film at the top of the next hour. Be
- 45:28Speaker 4: careful when you're using... PFF can be a great asset
- 45:33Speaker 4: for coverages and runs and different things.
- 45:36Speaker 1: Be careful when you cite it for pressures. and different
- 45:39Speaker 1: things like that.
- 45:40Speaker 4: Be very careful, actually, because they gave a pressure to
- 45:45Speaker 4: Weston Davis against Ole Miss one time. It wasn't a pressure.
- 45:48Speaker 4: It was actually good technique. He did what he was
- 45:50Speaker 4: supposed to. It was on the quarterback. So just be
- 45:52Speaker 4: careful when you're using that as a metric to say
- 45:54Speaker 4: they pressured this many times, they were hurried this many times,
- 45:57Speaker 4: because ball knowers know that the quarterback has to step
- 46:00Speaker 4: up in that situation.
- 46:01Speaker 1: So I would say that.
- 46:03Speaker 4: Because I saw some numbers out there that were wild,
- 46:06Speaker 4: and using it as the reason why Sam was successful–
- 46:09Speaker 4: when it was not really the case, there was plays
- 46:11Speaker 4: to be made against Ole Miss that was considered a,
- 46:13Speaker 4: air quote, pressure that was actually on the quarterback.
- 46:16Speaker 1: A pressure given up by the lineman.
- 46:17Speaker 5: And also pressures, like if you're looking at defensive stats,
- 46:20Speaker 5: like sometimes a green dog shouldn't be qualified as a pressure.
- 46:22Speaker 4: Yeah, because he's adding himself to the blitz. And also,
- 46:25Speaker 4: if they bring four, even if it is a nickel,
- 46:29Speaker 4: it's not a pressure.
- 46:30Speaker 1: It's just a play. Go team. Off the bench. All right,
- 46:35Speaker 1: go see our friends over at Pala. Go to Pala Group.
- 46:39Speaker 1: How do you spell that? P-A-L-A. Group.com.
- 46:43Speaker 4: And then you go there, and then once you get
