- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:04Speaker 1: Michael Bumpus.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Playfake, go to roll right, dumps it off into the
- 0:07Speaker 2: right flass to Michael Bumpers, who bounces off a one
- 0:10Speaker 2: tackler gets inside the forty down of the thirty five
- 0:13Speaker 2: yard line.
- 0:13Speaker 3: Powered by seahawks dot Com.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Matt pumpfake's looking at the goal line.
- 0:17Speaker 1: He throws it into the en zone. Touchdown.
- 0:19Speaker 4: Say Hawks, it's Michael Bumpas with a diving.
- 0:22Speaker 3: Catch in the end zone.
- 0:23Speaker 4: A ten yard touchdown reception for Bumpus, and the kid
- 0:27Speaker 4: out of Washington State has found himself a place on
- 0:30Speaker 4: this team.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Now here's your host, Nasa Jovie.
- 0:35Speaker 5: Welcome into another edition of Hawk Talk. The Seahawks fault
- 0:37Speaker 5: of the Bengals seventeen to thirteen in Cincinnati. Heartbreaking, heartbreaking losses.
- 0:42Speaker 5: Seahawks had a lot of opportunities to get this win.
- 0:45Speaker 5: And I'll tell you this right now, man, Losses are
- 0:47Speaker 5: never good. You're either competing or you're not. That's a
- 0:50Speaker 5: staple in Pete Carroll's program. However, I don't think all
- 0:53Speaker 5: losses are created equal, and I don't feel as bad
- 0:55Speaker 5: as I did to start the year. So we'll definitely
- 0:58Speaker 5: get into that. But let's waste no more time. Let's
- 1:00Speaker 5: figure out how this thing went down.
- 1:02Speaker 1: What had happened.
- 1:04Speaker 3: See what happened at first was what happened. Was what
- 1:08Speaker 3: had happened was unhawked talking.
- 1:10Speaker 5: But man, this was not the game I expected between
- 1:13Speaker 5: these two teams. I think in the pregame everyone said
- 1:15Speaker 5: they need to score thirty. That just wasn't the case.
- 1:18Speaker 6: Nah, Man, it wasn't a game that we expected. You know,
- 1:21Speaker 6: we knew it was gonna be a tough one, right.
- 1:22Speaker 6: You look at mar Chase and you got Joe Burrow
- 1:25Speaker 6: over there, and you look at just the potential of
- 1:27Speaker 6: this Bengals team. You knew it had the possibility of
- 1:30Speaker 6: being an offensive explosion.
- 1:32Speaker 3: But uh, that's not what we got. Man.
- 1:34Speaker 6: The Hawks have been able to score a lot of
- 1:36Speaker 6: points this season, and the Bengals have a lot of weapons.
- 1:38Speaker 6: I just mentioned one of them, right, But it turned
- 1:40Speaker 6: into a defensive battle. Guys are going back and forth.
- 1:43Speaker 6: After the first few drives, it just felt like both
- 1:46Speaker 6: offenses couldn't really get things right. They couldn't get things going.
- 1:49Speaker 6: The Hawks come out, they go eleven plays for seventy
- 1:51Speaker 6: five yards. Kim Walker scores a touchdown through top seven
- 1:54Speaker 6: to zero. Right, the Hawks only face one third down
- 1:56Speaker 6: that whole drive, and five different players touched the football.
- 1:59Speaker 3: The Bengals say, don't worry, We're here to play.
- 2:01Speaker 6: They go thirteen plays, sixty nine yards and they scored
- 2:04Speaker 6: eight yard touchdown to Tyler board.
- 2:06Speaker 3: I tied it up at sa after that got a
- 2:08Speaker 3: little interesting, yeah.
- 2:10Speaker 5: After a three and out by the Seahawks offense, the
- 2:11Speaker 5: Bengals would march right down the field again with a
- 2:14Speaker 5: seven play seventy three yard drive ending with a three
- 2:16Speaker 5: yard touchdown to tight end Andre Yo Sivas, making the
- 2:19Speaker 5: score fourteen to seven Cincy. Both teams would then exchange
- 2:23Speaker 5: punts before the Seahawks would get a couple more points
- 2:25Speaker 5: on the board. Hawks would have to settle for three though,
- 2:27Speaker 5: after a nine play drive stalled out in Sincy territory.
- 2:31Speaker 5: That made to score fourteen to ten going into the half.
- 2:34Speaker 5: And at the half we all kind of said that
- 2:35Speaker 5: they're right there. They just need to execute and get
- 2:37Speaker 5: the ball in the end zone. You're hoping they can
- 2:39Speaker 5: get more points before the end of the half. But
- 2:41Speaker 5: that started to kind of be a trend for the offense,
- 2:44Speaker 5: but the defense really figured their things out, man, and
- 2:46Speaker 5: in the second half, it was all about the Hawks defense.
- 2:48Speaker 5: Like I said, started right away with the Trey Brown
- 2:51Speaker 5: picked off Joe Burrow on the sideline and a ball
- 2:54Speaker 5: intended for Jamar Chase. So revisit that play a little
- 2:56Speaker 5: bit later, but unfortunately the Hawks couldn't take advantage of Gino.
- 2:59Speaker 5: Smith was then intercepted on the ensuing drive. The Hawks
- 3:02Speaker 5: drove down to the one yard line after a huge
- 3:05Speaker 5: reception by our guy Jake Bobo, but a cup block
- 3:09Speaker 5: penalty on Ken Walker pushed them back fifteen yard penalty.
- 3:12Speaker 5: Then Gino tried to get the ball the JSN up
- 3:14Speaker 5: the sideline and was intercepted bump. So definitely not what
- 3:18Speaker 5: you're hoping to have to start the second half after
- 3:20Speaker 5: especially getting a turnover yourself.
- 3:21Speaker 6: Yeah you got that pick, You're like, all right, cool,
- 3:23Speaker 6: let's go down to the score. Then Gino throws an interception.
- 3:26Speaker 6: Kind of the flags you a little bit, but the
- 3:28Speaker 6: Hawks even stepped up.
- 3:29Speaker 3: They forced a pun on the next drive.
- 3:31Speaker 6: The Hawks offense will come up short once again install
- 3:34Speaker 6: in the red zone.
- 3:35Speaker 3: That was a common theme.
- 3:35Speaker 6: Unfortunately on the day after that, the Bengals will pun
- 3:39Speaker 6: On the next drive, Gino would be intercepted again, and
- 3:42Speaker 6: this one I think was more on DK, But Gino's
- 3:44Speaker 6: never going to come out and put the blame on
- 3:45Speaker 6: anybody else but himself. Looked like DK was supposed to
- 3:48Speaker 6: break in on like a dig or something like that.
- 3:50Speaker 3: Just by the way the ball was thrown in the
- 3:53Speaker 3: way DK led.
- 3:54Speaker 6: Up at the top of it made me feel like
- 3:56Speaker 6: that was going to be a dig. But unfortunately a
- 3:58Speaker 6: good interception by the angles too. That wasn't no get
- 4:01Speaker 6: me interception. I forgot who that dB was, but he
- 4:03Speaker 6: had to layout and he had to go get it.
- 4:05Speaker 6: Defensive would get two big stops, keeping it a one
- 4:07Speaker 6: score game, and they gave the Hawks chance. But man,
- 4:11Speaker 6: final two possessions were kind of shaky their nests.
- 4:15Speaker 5: Yeah, man, I mean, goodness, gracious, this is one of
- 4:17Speaker 5: the best defensive performers we've seen out of the Seahawks
- 4:19Speaker 5: in the last three years. Probably i'd say easily just
- 4:22Speaker 5: about how dominant they were in the second half. But
- 4:24Speaker 5: offensively they would get down inside the ten yard line
- 4:28Speaker 5: on two separate drives and have to walk away with
- 4:30Speaker 5: zero points. We alluded to it earlier the Seahawks really
- 4:33Speaker 5: struggled in the red zone, going one of five, and
- 4:36Speaker 5: that was the difference in the ballgame the Hawks. If
- 4:38Speaker 5: you look at every measurement in the box score, the
- 4:41Speaker 5: Hawks dominated this game, bump. They outgained the Bengals three
- 4:44Speaker 5: eighty one to two fourteen one, time in possession thirty
- 4:47Speaker 5: four to one to twenty five to fifty nine. The
- 4:50Speaker 5: Hawks had twenty four first down so the Bengals had fifteen.
- 4:54Speaker 5: I mean, it's just a game of missed opportunities. Every
- 4:57Speaker 5: metric you look at, I'm trying to find ones that
- 4:58Speaker 5: the Seahawks didn't lose. Seahawks were better on third downs.
- 5:01Speaker 5: They had more plays seventy to fifty three. They had
- 5:04Speaker 5: the same amount of drives, but they had more yards
- 5:06Speaker 5: per play. You go through all of it, but at
- 5:08Speaker 5: the end of the day, be the Seahawks are zero
- 5:10Speaker 5: two on fourth down, which happened on those final two
- 5:12Speaker 5: drives where they couldn't score and they turned the ball
- 5:14Speaker 5: over twice. And I don't know about how you feel
- 5:17Speaker 5: about this, bump, but you're just getting off your show
- 5:19Speaker 5: that But I feel like a lot of people are
- 5:21Speaker 5: blaming solely Gino Smith for the offense not being able
- 5:24Speaker 5: to score in the red zone, and let's look at it.
- 5:27Speaker 5: Was it the best game from Gino Smith? Not at all,
- 5:30Speaker 5: Not at all. I think he did. There's a couple
- 5:31Speaker 5: throws he'd want to have back. He made a lot
- 5:33Speaker 5: of good throws in between the twenties. This team was
- 5:35Speaker 5: moving the football aggressively. There's some plays obviously he'd want
- 5:39Speaker 5: to have back in the red zone. Not a lot
- 5:41Speaker 5: of execution. But honestly, this is a collective effort offensively,
- 5:45Speaker 5: whether it's the offensive line, running backs, receivers, it was everybody,
- 5:48Speaker 5: don't I think Gino. I mean, I guess that's part
- 5:50Speaker 5: of playing the position as a quarterback. You're gonna take
- 5:52Speaker 5: more blame and when you lose, and you're gonna get
- 5:55Speaker 5: more credit when you win. But I think it was
- 5:57Speaker 5: a collective effort. But the good thing for me, Bump,
- 5:59Speaker 5: is I feel like everything that happened is fixable.
- 6:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I agree.
- 6:03Speaker 6: I think that the offensive line had their struggles, clearly.
- 6:05Speaker 6: The receivers had a couple of struggles there with running
- 6:08Speaker 6: the wrong routes. You know, did make some poor decisions.
- 6:10Speaker 6: But it's rare that you could just point to one
- 6:12Speaker 6: person to say, all right, that was all him so no,
- 6:15Speaker 6: but I think Gino.
- 6:16Speaker 3: Understands that right.
- 6:17Speaker 6: Like I'm the quarterback, I'm supposed to take these bullets
- 6:20Speaker 6: from my squad. I'm gonna get praise when we play well.
- 6:24Speaker 6: Just all a part of the game, man. But let's
- 6:27Speaker 6: get to these playmakers.
- 6:28Speaker 5: Yeah, and right before we get to the playmakers, mump,
- 6:30Speaker 5: I did have one thing to add. I tease it
- 6:32Speaker 5: to start the show that not all losses are created equal.
- 6:34Speaker 5: The reason I don't think they're created equal is do
- 6:37Speaker 5: you feel the same way you felt after the Rams game?
- 6:39Speaker 3: Not at all?
- 6:40Speaker 5: Not even close, right, not even close, because this game
- 6:43Speaker 5: was played completely different.
- 6:44Speaker 1: This defense dominated.
- 6:45Speaker 5: When you essentially shut down Jamar Chase and Joe Burrow
- 6:49Speaker 5: to the best to do it in this game, that's
- 6:51Speaker 5: something to hold your head on. The defense played the
- 6:53Speaker 5: way that they did, you know, and I said, everything
- 6:55Speaker 5: can be fixable. I just feel like this was a
- 6:58Speaker 5: game there's no moral victories. You know that in the league,
- 7:00Speaker 5: there's no moral victories. But I walked away with this
- 7:03Speaker 5: game almost feeling once kind of the immediate anger subsided,
- 7:06Speaker 5: almost feeling more encouraging because I'm excited about what these
- 7:09Speaker 5: guys can do so definitely not what you want to
- 7:12Speaker 5: have happened. You want to win games in the NFL.
- 7:13Speaker 5: Anytime you can, you're either competing or you're not. But
- 7:16Speaker 5: I think this loss is showing you where the Seahawks
- 7:19Speaker 5: are going, and that's in a good direction.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Bump.
- 7:22Speaker 5: But you alluded to the playmakers. Let's get it, playmakers
- 7:30Speaker 5: to them.
- 7:31Speaker 3: What time it is.
- 7:32Speaker 6: Let's break these guys down. Playmakers, Trey Brown. The last
- 7:36Speaker 6: two times we've seen them on the field, my dude's
- 7:38Speaker 6: been making plays.
- 7:39Speaker 3: Man.
- 7:39Speaker 6: Yeah, one tackle too fast to defending one interception. This
- 7:42Speaker 6: was his second interception of the season.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Man. The first one was against the Detroit Lions.
- 7:47Speaker 6: Jared Goffey ended his his streak of throwing the football
- 7:51Speaker 6: without any intercessions. I was three hundred and eighty three
- 7:53Speaker 6: and rob them, and Trey Brown said, now I'm back,
- 7:55Speaker 6: I'm locking it down.
- 7:56Speaker 3: It seems like as.
- 7:57Speaker 6: The secondary gets even Heller guys are stepping up. We
- 8:02Speaker 6: still haven't seen a Tariq Woollen sighting yet, right, a
- 8:04Speaker 6: real big play from him.
- 8:06Speaker 3: We've seen Trey, We've seen Jamal, we got Quandre.
- 8:09Speaker 6: So I'm excited, man, when you got these young guys
- 8:11Speaker 6: making plays, it means that the older guy's gonna start
- 8:14Speaker 6: making plays too. And speaking of an older guy, we
- 8:16Speaker 6: got Jamal Adams. It was nice to just see him
- 8:19Speaker 6: get through a full game, right. He had four tackles,
- 8:22Speaker 6: one TfL, one quarterback hid and finished his first full
- 8:25Speaker 6: game since November twenty ninth of twenty twenty one against Washington.
- 8:30Speaker 6: He played on eighty five percent of the snaps out there,
- 8:34Speaker 6: So that was main objective for me. Just get through
- 8:37Speaker 6: a whole game and show us that your body can
- 8:39Speaker 6: handle it. Not only that bump. There's something about Jamal Adams.
- 8:44Speaker 6: We kind of talked about this as we were watching
- 8:45Speaker 6: the game. I found myself looking where thirty three was
- 8:48Speaker 6: on every single play, whether it was during the snap,
- 8:51Speaker 6: pre snap, after the snap.
- 8:53Speaker 5: Jamal Adams just has an energy about him. When he's
- 8:55Speaker 5: on the field, you can feel it. I mean, whether
- 8:58Speaker 5: it's another guy making a big play. You know, he's
- 9:00Speaker 5: the first guy to greet Jake Bobo after he gets
- 9:02Speaker 5: kind of hit pretty hard running off the field. I mean,
- 9:05Speaker 5: his energy is just infectious. So I'm always watching Jamal
- 9:07Speaker 5: and it was good to see him make plays, you know,
- 9:10Speaker 5: be physical if someone runs acrossing round underneath the middle.
- 9:12Speaker 1: He's going to come up and hit you hard.
- 9:14Speaker 3: Man.
- 9:14Speaker 5: He had that huge third down loss where he got
- 9:17Speaker 5: to stop there, and I don't know, I just like
- 9:18Speaker 5: what I'm seeing from Jamal and the fact that, like
- 9:21Speaker 5: you said, that he could get through a game and
- 9:22Speaker 5: just kind of build that confidence that he can do
- 9:25Speaker 5: it. It is great to see because I feel, like, you know,
- 9:26Speaker 5: eighty five percent of the snaps, I think the pitchgown
- 9:29Speaker 5: is going to be over. I think we can kind
- 9:30Speaker 5: of let Jamal loose and it'll be fun to see.
- 9:33Speaker 5: But sticking in that secondary bump, Devin Witherspoon. He's another
- 9:37Speaker 5: guy four tackles, three passes defense and when you watch him,
- 9:41Speaker 5: to me, man, he's just so assertive every game that
- 9:44Speaker 5: I watch, and Pete Carroll made that comparison to Troy
- 9:47Speaker 5: Paul Malu. I see it more each and every week
- 9:49Speaker 5: just because he's instinctive. But he's not out there just gambling.
- 9:52Speaker 5: He just has such a feel for the game and
- 9:53Speaker 5: he's still football smart and he just finds a way
- 9:56Speaker 5: to be around the football man. Devin Witherspoon is a
- 9:58Speaker 5: player and you watch them together now as a secondary
- 10:01Speaker 5: with Quandre Diggs and Jamal you mentioned Riek and everybody
- 10:05Speaker 5: in there, now Trey Brown, they can be really dangerous
- 10:08Speaker 5: as a secondary. And this is the first time since
- 10:10Speaker 5: really camp. You know, we had all that hype about
- 10:12Speaker 5: the secondary, but I'm really starting to see it the
- 10:14Speaker 5: last couple of weeks about how special they could be.
- 10:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:16Speaker 6: Man, The great part about that secondary too, man, is
- 10:18Speaker 6: that you know, yeah, you got Quandre over in a train,
- 10:22Speaker 6: you got Jamal and Trey, but the future is bright
- 10:25Speaker 6: with the guys that you drafted, man, So that's gonna
- 10:28Speaker 6: be fun to watch these dudes develop.
- 10:29Speaker 3: So look at Tyler Lockett.
- 10:30Speaker 6: He has six receptions for ninety four yards, a big
- 10:33Speaker 6: thirty six game on the final drive that put the
- 10:35Speaker 6: Seahawks in position to win the game. Honestly and again,
- 10:39Speaker 6: Tyler Lockett just the epitome of just being consistent and
- 10:42Speaker 6: doing your job. Not gonna hear much from him when
- 10:44Speaker 6: it comes to the media or whatnot, but he's always
- 10:46Speaker 6: going to be there.
- 10:47Speaker 3: And six receptions for ninety four yards.
- 10:49Speaker 6: All he was missing was a touchdown, but you know, offensively,
- 10:52Speaker 6: that just wasn't in the cars for him. And then
- 10:54Speaker 6: Ken Walker nineteen cares for sixty two yards, one touchdown
- 10:58Speaker 6: and then a nice one ended grond I think early
- 11:00Speaker 6: in the game too, wasn't it. We were watching this
- 11:02Speaker 6: game and Paul Moore is yelling at him two hands,
- 11:05Speaker 6: like go look man, Yeah, I don't think he choice,
- 11:07Speaker 6: but to cash that thing with one.
- 11:08Speaker 3: It was a good cash barking. Yeah.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Ken just shows he's an athlete. Man.
- 11:12Speaker 5: That's not something he's definitely known for, is he's a
- 11:15Speaker 5: good receiving running back out of the backfield, but making
- 11:18Speaker 5: those one handed kind of plays. So definitely fun to
- 11:20Speaker 5: see that. And we'll keep it on the offense for
- 11:22Speaker 5: the last playmaker and Jake Bobo man singing his praises.
- 11:26Speaker 5: You know in the preseason, I'll say this, you got
- 11:28Speaker 5: to give credit with credits due. Bump has been on
- 11:31Speaker 5: Jake Bobo since before they drafted him or before he
- 11:35Speaker 5: signed with the Seahawks. Who's undrafted because Bump's got to
- 11:38Speaker 5: cover him in the Pac twelve, Jake Bobo is here
- 11:41Speaker 5: through training camp. It was about, you know, every year
- 11:44Speaker 5: there's always somebody that kind of wins the hearts of
- 11:46Speaker 5: the twelves and this and that. Jake not only did that,
- 11:49Speaker 5: but bump. He is showing us why on the field.
- 11:52Speaker 5: I just love seeing him out there. He's a big guy.
- 11:54Speaker 5: Everyone wanted to talk about his four nine forty wherever
- 11:56Speaker 5: the heck it was. It doesn't matter because when I
- 11:58Speaker 5: see him on there, he looks like he belie And
- 12:01Speaker 5: when he was on the field, he was making plays
- 12:03Speaker 5: and he was having this offense.
- 12:04Speaker 3: Yeah, he's a football player, man, and you're I was.
- 12:07Speaker 6: I was fortunate enough to watch him play at UCLA,
- 12:10Speaker 6: and I felt that he was gonna get a m
- 12:11Speaker 6: B a late draft in the NFL, but.
- 12:13Speaker 3: It didn't work out for him. But it's working out
- 12:15Speaker 3: for him now. Man. Two big receptions on the day.
- 12:19Speaker 6: One I got hit pretty hard, so we had to
- 12:21Speaker 6: sit out for a little bit, but you sent me
- 12:23Speaker 6: a closer. Sounded like he was back in the game
- 12:25Speaker 6: later on. Wasn't in on the final drive. But I
- 12:28Speaker 6: think the more he does, the more likely he's going
- 12:31Speaker 6: to be around for those those key moments in the game.
- 12:33Speaker 3: All right, let's get to the Wiver round up. Man.
- 12:36Speaker 6: We got Tyler lockety win six for ninety four and
- 12:38Speaker 6: eight targets. DK metcalf four for sixty nine on ten targets,
- 12:41Speaker 6: Jackson Smith and Jigba had four for forty eight and
- 12:44Speaker 6: Long with eighteen on five targets, his longest reception of
- 12:47Speaker 6: his career so far. We just mentioned Jake Bobo too
- 12:50Speaker 6: for forty three, Can Walker three for twenty seven, Kobe
- 12:52Speaker 6: parks In three for sixteen, Zach Charbonne two for fourteen
- 12:55Speaker 6: no offense, Uncle Will Dissi both had one catch, and
- 12:58Speaker 6: DJ Dallas had won as well.
- 13:01Speaker 3: I'm still waiting.
- 13:02Speaker 6: I'm still waiting for Jsin to you see it coming though,
- 13:07Speaker 6: see the progress there. He's still number three on the
- 13:09Speaker 6: team when it comes to overall targets.
- 13:11Speaker 3: I believe he has twenty five.
- 13:12Speaker 6: So they're trying to do it, do their thing with Jasn,
- 13:15Speaker 6: but it's just gonna take a little longer than what
- 13:17Speaker 6: people expect.
- 13:19Speaker 5: Yeah, Man and Pete Carroll talked about it this morning
- 13:21Speaker 5: on his radio show. Jay Hassen came into this essentially
- 13:26Speaker 5: this regular season with a broken rist, essentially, and he
- 13:29Speaker 5: didn't skip a beat, barely missed the practice. So he's
- 13:32Speaker 5: been doing everything we wanted to see from him all camp.
- 13:34Speaker 5: He wasn't dropping any balls, and we know he's the
- 13:37Speaker 5: twentyeh overall pick and there's a lot of high expectations
- 13:39Speaker 5: for him, so he's almost there, Bump. And you know
- 13:42Speaker 5: what's the crazy thing about it, man, is Wow, I
- 13:44Speaker 5: wish Geno could have seen him on that one route
- 13:47Speaker 5: because that really changes the narrative about what we feel
- 13:51Speaker 5: about JSN probably after this game, because that's that probably
- 13:54Speaker 5: makes you feel like the breakout game because that would
- 13:56Speaker 5: have been the game winning touchdown. And this isn't truly
- 13:59Speaker 5: throwing shade at gene know, it's just, you know, he
- 14:01Speaker 5: got pressure, he stepped up in the pocket, got the
- 14:03Speaker 5: first down. It's just, man, you wish he would have
- 14:05Speaker 5: seen him on his left hand side, you know, Jason
- 14:08Speaker 5: running towards that back end zone and he would have
- 14:10Speaker 5: been wide open for a touchdown. But he's almost there, Bump.
- 14:13Speaker 5: I think when we're seeing the bred crumbs, he's going
- 14:15Speaker 5: to have a breakout game. We just haven't been able
- 14:18Speaker 5: to see it yet.
- 14:18Speaker 3: Yep.
- 14:19Speaker 1: But let's move it right on.
- 14:21Speaker 5: We mentioned it a little bit earlier, getting in the
- 14:22Speaker 5: coach's corner. One of the great plays on defenses with
- 14:25Speaker 5: Trey Brown picking off Joe Burrow to start the second half,
- 14:28Speaker 5: pass intended for Jamar Chase.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Jamar Chase slide to the near side and Brown is
- 14:33Speaker 2: on him. Burrow from the shotgun on second down and
- 14:37Speaker 2: five takes the snap, three step drop.
- 14:39Speaker 3: He's gonna lay it up over the top.
- 14:41Speaker 1: He's got check.
- 14:41Speaker 3: Get down.
- 14:42Speaker 4: Accepting accepted by Trey Brown. The ball is thrown deep
- 14:47Speaker 4: by Burrow down the near sidelines. It was intended for Chase,
- 14:50Speaker 4: and Trey Brown turned at the last second, got his
- 14:54Speaker 4: hands up, makes the interception.
- 14:56Speaker 6: Great play by Trey Brown. Welcome back. My man was
- 14:58Speaker 6: inn cussed for a little bit. Go through protocol, but
- 15:01Speaker 6: this right here, you're you're a dB now, this is
- 15:04Speaker 6: just beautiful technique right here right he's manned up. It
- 15:07Speaker 6: looks like with Jamar Chase opens up the gate, Jamar
- 15:10Speaker 6: goos outside and Trey Brown does a great job of
- 15:13Speaker 6: squeezing Jamar Chase to the sideline. Handle the head once
- 15:17Speaker 6: he feels like he's in good position. This is what
- 15:19Speaker 6: receivers do. We lave ball's coming, The eyes get big,
- 15:22Speaker 6: the arms start pumped a bit more. Trey Brown feels
- 15:26Speaker 6: he's in great position. He looks for the football and boom.
- 15:29Speaker 6: You get to where you're supposed to be, you will
- 15:31Speaker 6: make some plays. Textbook football by the young Trey Brown.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Yeah, you hit the nail on that. I love to
- 15:37Speaker 1: see it. You do exactly right.
- 15:39Speaker 5: You push him to the sideline, and Trey Brown is
- 15:41Speaker 5: awareness right, he looks at the time and score. He goes, Okay,
- 15:44Speaker 5: look at this they got. Anytime you have Jamar Chase
- 15:46Speaker 5: on the single side by himself and you have three
- 15:48Speaker 5: receivers to the other side or at least the slot
- 15:51Speaker 5: outside there, you know that you're probably gonna get picked on.
- 15:54Speaker 1: You got it smaller and height. This is the game,
- 15:56Speaker 1: you know.
- 15:56Speaker 5: I mean, Jamar's coming off a game where he had
- 15:58Speaker 5: fifteen receptions, set of franchise records. So anytime, if you're
- 16:02Speaker 5: Joe Burrow, you see this matchup and they're one on
- 16:04Speaker 5: one and Jamal Adams is the deep safety on this
- 16:07Speaker 5: side and he's almost twenty yards off the ball in
- 16:09Speaker 5: the middle of the field, So you know you're gonna
- 16:10Speaker 5: have one on one coverage. So you're gonna give your
- 16:12Speaker 5: guy a chance. I mean, you've seen all those memes
- 16:15Speaker 5: where Joe Burrow's like screwing you know, Chase down there somewhere.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Well, this time he found Trey Brown.
- 16:20Speaker 5: Because Trey Brown is exactly what you talked about textbook technique,
- 16:24Speaker 5: pushing him to the sideline, squeezing and then turn around
- 16:26Speaker 5: and making the play, because that's what it is.
- 16:27Speaker 1: Because you know a lot of dbs get.
- 16:29Speaker 5: Some gripe because they say, hey, that's why you play
- 16:32Speaker 5: dB because you can't catch the football. No, man, Trey
- 16:35Speaker 5: Brown's an athlete, Bump and Trey. There's been a lot
- 16:39Speaker 5: of talk obviously about who's gonna play where, especially when
- 16:42Speaker 5: Witherstream came back. Okay, if he goes inside at the nickel,
- 16:45Speaker 5: who's gonna play outside? I think we're you know, there's
- 16:49Speaker 5: great depth there, but I don't think there's any question anymore.
- 16:52Speaker 5: If if Witherstrom goes inside, you're looking at Rek Wooling
- 16:55Speaker 5: and Trey Brown, especially given what he's done in the
- 16:57Speaker 5: last couple of games. You know, he had that pick
- 16:59Speaker 5: sick and gets destroy then he gets knocked out with
- 17:01Speaker 5: the concussion. Mike Jackson has stepped in and played some
- 17:03Speaker 5: good ball, but bomb, I think Trey Brown has really
- 17:06Speaker 5: solidified himself, is going to be that guy outside when
- 17:09Speaker 5: Witherspoon jumps in at nickel.
- 17:11Speaker 6: Yeah, No, I think it's just secondary set as far
- 17:14Speaker 6: as starters, right, you get in your base formation. You
- 17:16Speaker 6: got Reek Walling, you got where the spoon of the safeties,
- 17:19Speaker 6: you got Jamal Adams, got Quandre when you gotta go
- 17:22Speaker 6: nickel boom, slide them right in there.
- 17:25Speaker 3: It's exciting. And then even if you want to.
- 17:27Speaker 6: Go die all, you still got Jay Love right you
- 17:29Speaker 6: bring in you put Jamal Adams in the box. Now
- 17:31Speaker 6: he's that hybrid linebacker. Just the combinations that we are
- 17:34Speaker 6: going to see on the back end of this has
- 17:37Speaker 6: me really excited. And then you add what's going on
- 17:39Speaker 6: in the box the defense. I was waiting to see
- 17:42Speaker 6: if they're gonna prove it right to go all right,
- 17:43Speaker 6: New York, you can beat New York. You did we're
- 17:45Speaker 6: supposed to do. You got a week to prepare now
- 17:47Speaker 6: and get your buy a week. But they came out
- 17:49Speaker 6: and it made me a believer.
- 17:51Speaker 5: No question about it. And the Bengals, their backs were
- 17:54Speaker 5: against the wall. They couldn't start two and four in
- 17:55Speaker 5: that division and expect to win a division titles, so
- 17:58Speaker 5: they threw everything they could at the Seahawks.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Unfortunately, it was not enough, as the clock just ran out.
- 18:07Speaker 3: On me.
- 18:08Speaker 2: Taken by Hunley. They're just gonna let the clock wine
- 18:10Speaker 2: down Pe. It's not even gonna bother. They're taking that
- 18:12Speaker 2: last time.
- 18:13Speaker 1: Out at the end of the season bump.
- 18:15Speaker 5: It's gonna be one the Seahawks look back on and say, man,
- 18:18Speaker 5: we really probably should have had that game. Things were decided,
- 18:21Speaker 5: honestly in this ballgame by lack of execution in the
- 18:23Speaker 5: red zone. The Seahawks end of the day one for five,
- 18:27Speaker 5: and the Hawks turned the ball over on downs on
- 18:29Speaker 5: back to back possessions after getting inside the Bengals ten
- 18:31Speaker 5: yard line.
- 18:32Speaker 1: They just couldn't get it done.
- 18:33Speaker 5: Unfortunately, they were able to move the ball between the twenties,
- 18:36Speaker 5: but when it came down to it, they just could
- 18:38Speaker 5: not get things done where whatever it is. You know,
- 18:41Speaker 5: the field condenses in the red zone. Obviously, sometimes it's
- 18:44Speaker 5: hard to score down there, but that's definitely something you'd
- 18:46Speaker 5: expect the Seahawks to be better at it. It's just
- 18:49Speaker 5: a real bummer because this is a game that I
- 18:50Speaker 5: really think they should have had.
- 18:52Speaker 6: Yeah, they got they got some work to do, but
- 18:53Speaker 6: I believe in the staff and these guys, and I
- 18:55Speaker 6: think they're gonna get it right.
- 18:56Speaker 3: Everything wasn't all bad though.
- 18:57Speaker 6: We had a great performance by Jake Bobbo to real
- 19:01Speaker 6: big catches in that game. They're in the defense ball
- 19:04Speaker 6: to men held the Bengals to fifty two yards and
- 19:06Speaker 6: three points in the second half. Fifty two yards and
- 19:09Speaker 6: three points, and you still lose that ballgame.
- 19:11Speaker 3: Man. That hurts, but also held them overall.
- 19:13Speaker 6: To two hundred and fourteen yards and that secondary look
- 19:16Speaker 6: really good too.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Everywhere making plays.
- 19:19Speaker 5: There's a lot of intriguing stuff you talked about, But now, Bump,
- 19:23Speaker 5: it's about It's about this week, right, you know, today
- 19:27Speaker 5: they're gonna tell the truth. They're gonna get in the
- 19:28Speaker 5: film room, they're gonna see everything they can to correct.
- 19:30Speaker 5: They're gonna get it going offensively. You mentioned it. We
- 19:32Speaker 5: got faith in this coaching staff from obviously from pepe
- 19:35Speaker 5: Chaane Waldrin and Andy Dickerson and the offensive staff.
- 19:38Speaker 1: But it's a divisional game, Bump. This is a huge
- 19:40Speaker 1: game this week.
- 19:41Speaker 5: You cannot lose another divisional game, especially this early in
- 19:45Speaker 5: the season. So now everything is flipped toward the Arizona Cardinals,
- 19:49Speaker 5: who will be coming into Lumen Field this Sunday. Remember, guys,
