- 0:04Five minutes past the hour. It's the third hour, turning the page on
- 0:08the rundown. Here the Morning Show with Preston Scott Him Preston, He's Grant
- 0:11and this, my friends, is Jerome Hudson. He is the entertainment editor
- 0:15with Breitbart dot Com, author of the Fifty Things books. Hello, my
- 0:18dear friend, how are you. Oh? I'm just doing great. Can
- 0:22you hear me through my mask? Oh? Please? I try to listen
- 0:31as much as possible. Do you agree? Do you agree? Well,
- 0:35I just want to say you have me rolling in the public's parking lot.
- 0:39It was one of those situations where I was laughing, but I have my
- 0:42headphones in, so I didn't know how loud I was laughing, and I
- 0:45caught a couple of people looking at me. You know, I do well.
- 0:51I will just say, I mean, there are some people who,
- 0:54you know, need to wear a mask, but that number is so infintestinal.
- 1:02But I immediately so sorry for people when I see them wearing mask,
- 1:06like, oh gosh, let me let me test that. Let me test
- 1:10what you just said, Let me test what you just said. You say
- 1:14there should be people that that should be wearing masks. How many people out
- 1:19of one hundred out of the hold on, wait wait wait, wait wait,
- 1:23how many people out of a thousand did you notice wearing a mask before
- 1:29COVID? Oh? Sure? Like okay, So I will say there is
- 1:34one guy at the Why when I went to the Why here in Jacksonville,
- 1:38Florida. Other than that, but he he was carrying around an oxygen case,
- 1:44exactly exactly. And those people, absolutely they get a pass because they
- 1:49had a condition prior to COVID. But I am I am beyunconvinced that the
- 1:55the the ninety nine point nine percent of the people that are wearing masks.
- 2:00Now, A they've outed themselves they're liberal Democrats, and B they've just they've
- 2:05fallen into the delusion. You know, I have this, you know,
- 2:08I have this thing in me where I don't I typically try not to judge
- 2:14people just based on their physical appearance. I'm not judging them, and gosh,
- 2:19you know, I'm labeling them. I would like to think that they're
- 2:23all died in the wood rocked conservatives, but I wouldn't know it because I
- 2:29probably wouldn't be able to understand them enunciate through the mass telp me no,
- 2:34nope, nope, nope. Hey, so tell me what what would you
- 2:38say is the story in the last month on the entertainment page that should be
- 2:50on people's radar every fifth visit. You asked me this story, and it's
- 2:54I do not you know, outside of like the Back to the Few,
- 3:00which is really like a trilogy. It's hard for me to pick one thing.
- 3:06But gosh, you fortunately, I can't even do it right because I
- 3:09want to say Diddy because it's it's a hot story and it leeds into so
- 3:16many narratives. But I will say just the business of Hollywood. Hollywood has
- 3:23as I've said before, it has a brand issue. You know, many
- 3:29of the most famous and most beloved stars, as you put it, out
- 3:34at themselves as being very nasty and mean people, and that I guess that's
- 3:42okay, But when it came to politics, they really preached down to over
- 3:46half of the country in a vile and vicious way and just berated the very
- 3:53people that made them rich. Also, you know, they the Hollywood,
- 3:57the entertainment industry sort of cultivated to a culture of rape and sexual abuse for
- 4:04a long time. But it's brands, it's biggest brands have brand issues,
- 4:11right like I've said before Disney is the equivalent of a pantless man sitting in
- 4:15an ice cream truck across the street from a playground, like that's it's not
- 4:20good. And NBC Universal and so these studios teaming up to form these mega
- 4:32streaming services because I think, I just think that the content. If the
- 4:42content's good, people will watch it. And I think people will step aside,
- 4:46you know, whatever political feelings that they have about the actor that they're
- 4:49watching in this series of that movie. But the world is changing around the
- 4:56business of Hollywood, and one thing that's very clear is that streaming is losing
- 5:03these the parent company a lot of money, I think, but four billion
- 5:08dollars is what Disney lost. Disney's not really making money off of its news
- 5:13division, ABC because they put people like Jimmy Kimmel, you know, going
- 5:17back to the toxic uh face the ABC News division. I mean, it's
- 5:25you know, it is what it is. Uh And you know, ESPN
- 5:29has just been going through a decade of her molt yep and and so and
- 5:33and Disney plus they launched this thing because why not everybody else has a streamer
- 5:39and it's lost four billion dollars and it doesn't really stand to make a profit.
- 5:44So now Disney is teamed up with with with Max, which is Warner
- 5:49Brothers Discovery. Hang on a second, hang on, we got to break
- 5:53eleven past the hour. Jerome Hudson with me on the Morning Show with Preston
- 5:56Scott, twelve past the hour. Shorten this segment, just a bit catch
- 6:00back up? Joining us is Jerome Hudson Drome. Let's tie these together.
- 6:05You're just talking about the slide that the entertainment industry is on, but the
- 6:11lead story being Sean Diddy Combs and his latest problems and now the spotlight back
- 6:19on an incident in twenty sixteen. How do we tie these two together?
- 6:24It would seem that the culture that gave birth to Sean Combs isn't dead.
- 6:34Hello, good lord, hit the mute, didn't forget it? Sorry,
- 6:41Yeah, you're exactly right, boy. I'm going to do some editing there.
- 6:45The entertainment industry just has a brand issue, and the brand is very
- 6:49toxic. And you know, I mentioned the studios teaming up sort of one
- 6:58Big three and another Big three, right, because because that is that is
- 7:02evident people fewer people are going to the movies. You know, people,
- 7:08when people you give people choices and they don't have to pay their money to
- 7:13the affirmative action that is a cable subscription or satellite subscription, and they can
- 7:17pick and choose which streamers they want. Then you know, if if they
- 7:21don't want their children watching Disney Plus, then they'll go to Netflix for whatever
- 7:26reason, or they'll go to Hulu app Apple TV. And so these the
- 7:30studios realize that their their ships are sinking, and so they're just merging to
- 7:35make big ships. Uh but but but that won't solve the problem as long
- 7:41as they're creating content that people are turned off by, that are offended by.
- 7:46People won't won't spend what feels like fewer and fewer dollars to give to
- 7:51studios whose news divisions lie to them and lie about their neighbors and lie about
- 7:58their way of life. Well tell me that. But I want to say,
- 8:01we've been in this spiral because of what we do in the Hollywood Page
- 8:05specifically, but writ large at Bright Part News, we just we just we
- 8:09don't lie to our audience. We don't shortcut or short shift our audience.
- 8:16We tell you the truth. Were not perfect, and we get things wrong.
- 8:18But that is very much not what your politicians do. It's not what
- 8:22Hollywood executives do, it's not what music executives do, and it's certainly not
- 8:28what what Sean Diddy Combs did. Notwithstanding all the good things that Sean Combs
- 8:33has done, he's changed lives for probably countless people. He's he's got I
- 8:37think three charter schools in Brooklyn, fighting liberal Democrats to do that must have
- 8:43been a battle onto itself. He's made millionaires, he started businesses. But
- 8:48this guy has had a dark side for three decades. It was an open
- 8:52secret, just like it was with pick your favorite Hollywood executive rapist who was
- 8:58given Osters an Emmy, but was a predator and an abuser for a very
- 9:05long time. And just because we see a two minute video of Sean Combs
- 9:11beating the HG double hockey sticks out of a woman who was trying to flee
- 9:16is very abuse. It It is only the tip of the iceberg, and
- 9:24it's emblematic of a very very toxic industry filled with very good people, but
- 9:31certainly a lot of bad apples at the top. Yeah, all the good
- 9:35Sean Combs has done for people is not going to make the bad that his
- 9:41criminal go away. WUSLA on your phone with the iHeart radio app and on
- 9:46hundreds of devices like Alexa, Google Home, Xbox, and Sonos, says,
- 9:50and Iheart's radio station. Well, we might have had some climate protesters
- 9:56glue themselves to our runway this morning and tried to throw us off schedule,
- 10:01but we're back on schedule. They just speed bumps back with Jerome Hudson Brightbart
- 10:07dot com entertainment editor. Good morning, sir. Let's talk about that big
- 10:13picture. Now back to Hollywood. We talked a few weeks ago about Bob
- 10:16Iger claiming that he was going to pay more attention to, among other things,
- 10:20the Marvel franchise, you know, not focus so much on quantity.
- 10:24I agree with him, too many movies, but quality. But he's missing
- 10:28it. People don't support Marvel anymore because they hate the actors playing their heroes.
- 10:35Yeah, and it's not to say that Bob Biker isn't a smart man.
- 10:41You don't come the CEO of the largest media and travel and entertainment and
- 10:50theme park conglomerates not once but twice by being by being a silly, stupid
- 10:54man. Right, Bob Viker's ego is the size of jupid. He he
- 11:03made more than one attempt pressed than Bob Biger did to be the ambassador to
- 11:07China. And I just hold, I guess, a special regard for individuals
- 11:16who want to tie themselves to what I truly believe to be the closest thing
- 11:22to a Nazi regime that we've seen since the Third Reich. And whether that's
- 11:28you know, I may upset some people listening Elon Musk. I mean,
- 11:35starting and tying your electric vehicle company to a regime that is fomenting slave labor
- 11:43all over the country is anti Christian. It's just evil what the people who
- 11:48run the government of China are doing in Beijing. And that's what Bob Bayger's
- 11:52showed to me. Once I realized that, oh, this man is craven
- 12:00and and just you know, expedient for expedient's sake, which which doesn't make
- 12:07him unique right to very powerful individuals and business or politics or whatever. But
- 12:13when he when he outed himself and and just praised China, I get it.
- 12:18It's that market is very important to Disney, but he just went way
- 12:24too far. Well it it is, I mean, it is like it's
- 12:31I mean no, really, no, no, no, hold on,
- 12:33hold on, they can't buy their own goods over there. Who cares?
- 12:39I mean, they can't buy eighty percent of their own goods. We do,
- 12:43they can't, So why do they care? But they but they have
- 12:46the theme parks and those people. The theater and moviegoing market in Asia,
- 12:54specifically mainland China has just been a for fifty years, and it's been the
- 13:03one or one A or one B priority for studios to koutout to China to
- 13:11get their movies past the Chinese censors. And that's a decision that Disney made
- 13:16thirty years ago if Bob Iger was all on board with it. And so
- 13:22you know, no, Bob Biker doesn't care that. You know. Captain
- 13:26America is a decent actor on screen, But Spew's the most hateful things used
- 13:35to anyway before he sort of realized that his own brand was being hurt.
- 13:41Mark Ruffalo is just I actually think Mark Ruffalo is not a smart man.
- 13:46I mean, if you look, if you google Mark Ruffalo Breitbart, and
- 13:50you may have to search because Google is evil and they hide Breitbart links as
- 13:54much as they possibly can. But if you just look at our coverage of
- 13:58Mark Ruffalo. I don't, I don't. I don't want to, you
- 14:03know, taint the logic stream here, but it's hard not to get a
- 14:09sense that he's just not intelligent and and but no, I mean, that's
- 14:15that's that's Hollywood. I think duty you Gamma raised that it might be worse.
- 14:22But but our friend Patrick Karachi has a great podcast. He when the
- 14:31movie about the the Atlanta Olympics bombing, uh, directed by Clinty's Wood.
- 14:37I don't know why, I can't remember the name, but Patrick Carrolci went
- 14:41through the entire cast president of that film. They were all America hating people,
- 14:46and I mean just like they they hate everybody listening to this show,
- 14:50no matter what your politics are. And he deleted the tweet because because Warner
- 14:58Brothers just panicked and it was a tremendous takedown of how a great patriot like
- 15:03Clint Eastwood wants to make an amazing movie that tells an incredible story, but
- 15:11Hollywood's best known, most sought after actors, I mean, they're they're just
- 15:16ugly people when it comes to politics anyway, and their willingness to just crap
- 15:22all over the very people who made them rich. You know we continue to
- 15:26pray for these lost souls. I guess that's it, all right, Here's
- 15:31what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna tee you up for next month right now,
- 15:33you ready? Next month, I'm going to ask you to I'm going
- 15:37to ask you to answer, Will Joe Biden be the nominee after the Democrat
- 15:43National Convention? Okay? Oh man, kid, he not be because that
- 15:52would be so fun. But you know that's what I'm We're going to talk about that
