- 0:16SPEAKER_03: Welcome back to week three of the Barker Take.
- 0:20SPEAKER_03: I am Jordan Barker.
- 0:21SPEAKER_03: I have my brother with me, Zeke.
- 0:22SPEAKER_03: What's up, Zeke?
- 0:23SPEAKER_03: How are you doing today?
- 0:24SPEAKER_03: I'm doing pretty good.
- 0:25SPEAKER_03: How are you?
- 0:25SPEAKER_03: I'm still doing well.
- 0:27SPEAKER_03: Glad to have you here.
- 0:29SPEAKER_03: We are going to kick it off.
- 0:32SPEAKER_03: We're going to talk real quick about our picks from last week.
- 0:35SPEAKER_03: We did our pick challenge where you guys can join in.
- 0:40SPEAKER_03: You can send your picks.
- 0:42SPEAKER_03: For college football, we did five games.
- 0:44SPEAKER_03: Our winners last week, two of them tied with three games.
- 0:47SPEAKER_03: We have Elizabeth Barker and Keith Barker.
- 0:49SPEAKER_03: What this shows us is you don't necessarily have to know college football to be good at picking up.
- 0:54SPEAKER_04: You can just fill in bubbles.
- 0:55SPEAKER_03: Fill in the bubbles.
- 0:56SPEAKER_03: I got a solid one out of five.
- 1:00SPEAKER_03: So really good.
- 1:01SPEAKER_03: Oh, you only got one.
- 1:02SPEAKER_03: I I did only got two.
- 1:04SPEAKER_04: I got two, I think.
- 1:05SPEAKER_03: You did get two.
- 1:05SPEAKER_03: Let's go, baby.
- 1:06SPEAKER_03: Um, yeah.
- 1:07SPEAKER_03: So, anyways, um the week before I went four and two, this one I went one and four.
- 1:12SPEAKER_03: So I'm at five and six on the day, and I guess on the way here.
- 1:18SPEAKER_03: Um, you were three and three, and now you went two and three, and so you are also five and six.
- 1:23SPEAKER_03: So we are both below five hundred.
- 1:25SPEAKER_03: Complete just battle.
- 1:27SPEAKER_03: It is a battle.
- 1:29SPEAKER_03: But think about it this way: if we were playing professional baseball, we would be being paid billions of dollars right now based upon our success.
- 1:37SPEAKER_03: That's true.
- 1:38SPEAKER_03: Thank you.
- 1:38SPEAKER_03: That is true.
- 1:39SPEAKER_03: So now we would like to jump right in.
- 1:41SPEAKER_03: We have this cool feature that we can have you guys call in, our incredible fans, family, loved ones, uh, enemies, whatever you'd like to call yourself this week.
- 1:51SPEAKER_03: And we are gonna start it off with our very first phone call.
- 1:54SPEAKER_03: This person calls in all the way from Kentucky and has sent us an incredible question about football.
- 2:01SPEAKER_03: Let's listen in.
- 2:02SPEAKER_02: How are you doing, Barker Take?
- 2:05SPEAKER_02: This is uh Kyle Barker.
- 2:07SPEAKER_02: Longtime listener, first time caller.
- 2:12SPEAKER_02: I just gotta take about uh the Chargers are the best team out of the three of our teams, them being Chargers, Lions, and the Patriots.
- 2:27SPEAKER_02: I think the Chargers just need a little bit more time.
- 2:34SPEAKER_02: I know we're running out of time in the season.
- 2:36SPEAKER_02: I know we're 0-4, but I have the Chargers finishing with a better record than both the Lions and the Patriots by the end of the year.
- 2:47SPEAKER_03: There are good takes, there are bad takes, and then there are that take.
- 2:52SPEAKER_03: Uh would you like to kick us off here with that one?
- 2:55SPEAKER_04: I can kick it off.
- 2:56SPEAKER_04: Okay, I know he did send it before this week of games.
- 3:00SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 3:01SPEAKER_04: So he didn't see this past week.
- 3:03SPEAKER_04: But that's unfortunate for him because the Chargers looked awful again.
- 3:08SPEAKER_04: Yes, they did.
- 3:09SPEAKER_04: Patriots looked unbelievable and the Lions looked unbelievable.
- 3:13SPEAKER_04: We both they both scored 45 points and just blew out the teams that they played.
- 3:18SPEAKER_04: Drake May with no turnovers.
- 3:20SPEAKER_04: That's correct.
- 3:22SPEAKER_04: I thought he threw one pick, but he did not.
- 3:23SPEAKER_04: Who did they did they play the Raiders?
- 3:25SPEAKER_04: They played the Raiders, who who people were hot.
- 3:29SPEAKER_04: But they scored 45, the Lions scored 45.
- 3:31SPEAKER_04: Zero chance the Chargers even come close.
- 3:35SPEAKER_04: Especially with the Chargers division.
- 3:36SPEAKER_04: Like they're not beating the Chiefs.
- 3:38SPEAKER_04: They're not uh they just got beat by the Broncos, and the Broncos look terrible.
- 3:43SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 3:44SPEAKER_04: And then the Raiders, the other team, I don't I don't know if they can beat the Raiders.
- 3:47SPEAKER_03: I don't know if you were watching obviously the Chargers are such a bad team, you can't see them on most uh national televised games.
- 3:54SPEAKER_03: But I was watching the game cast of it because I was very curious when I saw them take the lead and they were up seven.
- 4:00SPEAKER_03: And the minute they went up seven, their play calling was horrendous, their execution was horrendous.
- 4:07SPEAKER_03: Herbert somehow forgot how to play quarterback.
- 4:10SPEAKER_03: Um like you said, full disclosure, we did send this back to Breezy to Kyle after we received it, and he please said, do not put this on the air.
- 4:21SPEAKER_03: This was the worst take of all time.
- 4:24SPEAKER_03: I can't think of a worse take than that.
- 4:27SPEAKER_03: But the Chargers are just a poor organization from the top to the bottom.
- 4:31SPEAKER_04: I don't know what they need to do.
- 4:32SPEAKER_04: Like I it's not working with Mike McDaniel.
- 4:35SPEAKER_04: Like they said, so I heard somebody talking about it in there.
- 4:38SPEAKER_04: Like, I'll give Harbaugh props.
- 4:39SPEAKER_04: He won 11 games back-to-back seasons, and then ended up saying, okay, we need to switch something to get over the hump.
- 4:48SPEAKER_04: Brought in Mike McDaniel, thought it would help the offense.
- 4:51SPEAKER_04: They need to just go back to Harbaugh offense and just run the ball, play hard, play good defense, play action pass.
- 4:58SPEAKER_04: Yeah, because this is not whatever they're trying to do is not working.
- 5:01SPEAKER_03: So I sent you guys also uh for people that don't know, we are in constant communication about football, just sending each other stats and different things.
- 5:09SPEAKER_03: And there's 40 quarterbacks that are on the PFF uh for this season that have qualified, and Justin Herbert ranks 39 out of 40.
- 5:18SPEAKER_03: The only quarterback behind him is Cooper Rush, the backup legend, Cooper Rush.
- 5:25SPEAKER_03: So if you're putting quarterbacks on the field, uh you currently want anyone besides Cooper Rush or Justin Herbert.
- 5:31SPEAKER_03: So when you say I don't know what to do, I have made it very clear in my text to our brother that I think they have to start by looking at Herbert.
- 5:39SPEAKER_03: He thinks they need to look at the offensive line.
- 5:41SPEAKER_03: They haven't got over the hump with Herbert.
- 5:44SPEAKER_03: I think it's just something with Herbert.
- 5:45SPEAKER_03: I don't think he can he can win.
- 5:47SPEAKER_03: He throws interceptions at the worst time, he takes sacks at the worst time.
- 5:51SPEAKER_03: They have a Hail Mary chance and he takes a sack.
- 5:54SPEAKER_04: One thing I will say is their offensive weapons are not good.
- 5:57SPEAKER_04: No.
- 5:57SPEAKER_04: Like they he doesn't have a go-to receiver.
- 6:00SPEAKER_04: Like Ladd McConkey, who didn't play this week, he suited up for some reason.
- 6:05SPEAKER_04: They didn't play a snap.
- 6:06SPEAKER_04: I don't know what that was.
- 6:08SPEAKER_03: Vegas made the phone call and said he had to play.
- 6:10SPEAKER_04: Um, I would absolutely tank the rest of the season if I was the Chargers and try to get Jeremiah Smith number one, run it back for one more year with Herbert.
- 6:19SPEAKER_04: If he can't do anything with Jeremiah Smith, then you gotta look elsewhere and figure something out.
- 6:24SPEAKER_04: Either you need a new coach again, which they went through several coaches with Herbert, or you just gotta go with somebody else.
- 6:31SPEAKER_03: Absolutely.
- 6:31SPEAKER_03: So, anyways, Breezy, I think uh it's very clear we both have the Lions and the Patriots with many more wins than the Chargers.
- 6:39SPEAKER_03: Um, so your take has been kicked off of the platform.
- 6:44SPEAKER_03: Uh, we're gonna take it to our second caller, uh, someone here locally uh we respect, a doctor, if you do say so.
- 6:50SPEAKER_03: And we're gonna kick it off to uh this caller.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: Hello, Barker Take podcast.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: This is Justin Sharpless.
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: Enjoyed the first week's episode.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: And uh now I have a question for you for week two's episode.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: Um I know you probably already recorded it, but you know, your take last week on my Jaguars, uh you know, incorrectly said they're gonna lose.
- 7:13SPEAKER_00: And uh this week my Jaguars play in London against the Eagles.
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: And so I was just curious what is your take and your opinion on our international games uh in the NFL as well as in college football.
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: Um do those add to the sport?
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: Uh should they be reconsidered?
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: Um I just want to know your opinion.
- 7:36SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 7:38SPEAKER_03: Justin, I think that's a great question.
- 7:40SPEAKER_03: I think the reason why they started to do international games is there is so much money to be made across uh across the world with American football.
- 7:49SPEAKER_03: I think the issue is we kept thinking, okay, we're gonna get a football team in Mexico City, we're gonna get a football team and and back in Canada, we're gonna do all these different things.
- 7:58SPEAKER_03: And it has become very clear that none of these other countries want a team.
- 8:02SPEAKER_03: Um, when you look at a lot of these international games, it's a lot of Americans traveling to these other places.
- 8:07SPEAKER_03: So I'm not really understanding the long-term effect of what the NFL and college is trying to do.
- 8:12SPEAKER_03: And I know they've they've hosted some different you know camps and different things on foreign soil, and we've gotten a few players because of it.
- 8:20SPEAKER_03: But overall as a whole, I think it's a really bad investment from college football and um and the NFL.
- 8:27SPEAKER_03: Uh, your Jaguars, we both did pick you picked Jacksonville.
- 8:32SPEAKER_03: So we picked Jags last week to win.
- 8:34SPEAKER_03: Um, so we did make that correct against the Eagles.
- 8:37SPEAKER_03: So that obviously you would have heard that after.
- 8:40SPEAKER_03: Uh, but it is the London Jaguars at this point.
- 8:44SPEAKER_03: I looked it up this morning.
- 8:46SPEAKER_03: They have played 15 games in London.
- 8:49SPEAKER_03: Not 15 international games, 15 games in London, eight and seven record.
- 8:54SPEAKER_03: I don't want to spoil it, but I have them winning again this week in London.
- 8:58SPEAKER_03: And so they'll be playing their 16th game.
- 9:00SPEAKER_03: And there's some teams that have only played one or two games internationally.
- 9:04SPEAKER_03: Uh, but Jacksonville, very good an international team.
- 9:09SPEAKER_03: A lot of people love them.
- 9:10SPEAKER_03: Not sure why.
- 9:11SPEAKER_03: I don't I don't understand the pull for Jacksonville uh across the world.
- 9:15SPEAKER_03: But so that's what I think about international games.
- 9:17SPEAKER_03: Zeke, you want to jump in?
- 9:18SPEAKER_04: My take on this, I do like the question.
- 9:21SPEAKER_04: Um I don't know what the financial numbers are, like if they make a bunch of money off these games.
- 9:27SPEAKER_04: But I think it is a complete waste of time, in my own opinion, um, for college and NFL.
- 9:35SPEAKER_04: I think it puts the teams at a complete disadvantage.
- 9:39SPEAKER_04: Um, the field that they played on where was that game played?
- 9:42SPEAKER_04: The uh Baltimore, yeah.
- 9:44SPEAKER_04: The Australia was No, the one with Baltimore and Dallas, I think.
- 9:49SPEAKER_04: Oh, in Mexico wasn't.
- 9:50SPEAKER_04: Okay, I think it was Mexico.
- 9:51SPEAKER_04: That's what I wanted to say.
- 9:52SPEAKER_04: Australia was the Rams.
- 9:53SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I thought you were talking about the Rams 49ers.
- 9:55SPEAKER_04: But the field that like Baltimore and I don't know if you saw the clips of them warm it up in that.
- 10:00SPEAKER_04: It's like you're gonna get somebody hurt absolutely because you're trying to go international for no re like I don't I don't understand the reasoning.
- 10:07SPEAKER_04: You're not spreading football.
- 10:08SPEAKER_04: Nobody else plays correct.
- 10:10SPEAKER_04: They all play soccer, they don't play football.
- 10:12SPEAKER_04: Yeah, so it's like I don't understand the point of going international.
- 10:16SPEAKER_04: I think it puts the teams you're having to travel to a different time zone, then come back.
- 10:21SPEAKER_04: Some of them are on short weeks, come back, yeah, and then play a different team.
- 10:25SPEAKER_04: I just don't I think they need to just stop doing it altogether, even though it is nice to have a game on at 9 30 in the morning and stuff, but I just I don't get the point of it.
- 10:36SPEAKER_03: Yeah, uh to put it into this perspective, a lot of these big uh soccer teams that play uh, you know, in the Premier League, they come and play games in the United States.
- 10:48SPEAKER_03: But anybody that doesn't already like soccer isn't going to these games to watch it.
- 10:53SPEAKER_03: It hasn't grown the game of soccer.
- 10:55SPEAKER_03: Soccer, and I know this is off of you might get a small percentage of somebody like, oh, they're here.
- 11:00SPEAKER_03: Let me soccer's grown in the United States a ton, but I don't think it's because these big teams are coming over.
- 11:05SPEAKER_03: It's because of the success in the World Cup and and you know, all these other types of things that we've done on the U.S.
- 11:11SPEAKER_03: soil in these big events.
- 11:12SPEAKER_03: But um, yeah, get rid of the international.
- 11:15SPEAKER_04: The other thing I'll say when you're talking about the fans, a lot of the fans don't even know.
- 11:20SPEAKER_04: Like the one game I was watching, I think it was Baltimore, Dallas, um, in Mexico.
- 11:26SPEAKER_04: There was a couple wearing Baltimore jerseys.
- 11:29SPEAKER_04: Dallas did something, like scored a touchdown or something, and they're going and they were going nuts like they scored.
- 11:34SPEAKER_04: And I'm like, they don't even know half of them don't even know what jersey they're wearing, what team they're cheering for.
- 11:40SPEAKER_04: There's also just random jerseys in the international, like they have like every jersey.
- 11:44SPEAKER_04: I just don't to me it's pointless.
- 11:46SPEAKER_04: I think it was a weird atmosphere for the players.
- 11:48SPEAKER_03: Like, I just I think it was the Jaguars two years ago when they played uh in London and they were counting jerseys, and the two most jer the two most players that were represented were Maurice Jones Drew and then Byron Lefwich.
- 12:05SPEAKER_03: And so those were taking it way back, and the the Jags have had some solid players between now and then, so it's kind of crazy.
- 12:11SPEAKER_03: So uh we got a third caller, and we are gonna take it.
- 12:14SPEAKER_03: This is our last call of the day, but we appreciate these people for joining in, becoming part of the Barker Take, and uh final caller of the day.
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: Hey, this is Robo, um, longtime listener, first time caller.
- 12:27SPEAKER_01: Um I have I'm considered the fourth Barker sometimes just because I'm a fill-in when one of the other brothers can't make a family event.
- 12:35SPEAKER_01: But I have two questions for the pod.
- 12:39SPEAKER_01: Um is this uh just a strictly football pod or all sports pod because we're in the middle of the MLB playoffs and we haven't mentioned them.
- 12:52SPEAKER_01: And second, just an observation, because you guys are Michigan fans.
- 12:59SPEAKER_01: Now that Connor Stallions isn't on the coaching staff, y'all were so good when he was on it, and now that he's not, you guys are back to playing on even playing fields with everybody else.
- 13:12SPEAKER_03: Thank you, Robo, for your take.
- 13:13SPEAKER_03: We appreciate you being the fourth Barker.
- 13:15SPEAKER_03: Uh, there are many family events that are better because you get to participate in that.
- 13:20SPEAKER_03: So I greatly appreciate it.
- 13:22SPEAKER_03: Shout out to the brother Robo.
- 13:26SPEAKER_03: Um, thank you for calling in.
- 13:27SPEAKER_03: So uh I will address a couple things here.
- 13:30SPEAKER_03: Uh, number one, we are just a sports podcast, but we are starting off in football because we do know that a lot of people here are re- are listening to it for the college football and NFL take.
- 13:39SPEAKER_03: But it would be a disservice this week, especially with the championship series to be happening, to not address baseball.
- 13:46SPEAKER_03: Um, we are recording this on Wednesday.
- 13:48SPEAKER_03: The the Rays just won yesterday off of three unearned runs and one inning.
- 13:52SPEAKER_03: What an incredible baseball game.
- 13:54SPEAKER_03: They won three to one to even up to series one to one.
- 13:57SPEAKER_03: Uh Cleveland has had some timely hits in those playoffs.
- 13:59SPEAKER_03: Every time it seems like they're done, uh Jose Ramirez just steps up and makes some big plays.
- 14:04SPEAKER_03: And then uh currently we've got the Dodgers, the world beating Dodgers down two to zero to the Milwaukee Brewers.
- 14:11SPEAKER_03: Uh Zeke, what's your baseball take?
- 14:14SPEAKER_04: I'm rooting for anyone except for the Dodgers at this point.
- 14:18SPEAKER_04: Um I already hated the Dodgers just because they spend so much money.
- 14:22SPEAKER_04: Absolutely.
- 14:22SPEAKER_04: And my Tigers don't spend any money.
- 14:24SPEAKER_04: But then once we traded Scoobyl, Scoobyl, to them, it was over for me.
- 14:31SPEAKER_04: I hope I hope he gets rocked every time he pitches.
- 14:35SPEAKER_04: I know you went from loving.
- 14:36SPEAKER_04: I loved Scoobyl, and even after he got traded, I loved him.
- 14:39SPEAKER_04: And then after watching some of the stuff, and he's like, We've been planning this for years.
- 14:42SPEAKER_04: I'm ready to win multiple titles in a row.
- 14:45SPEAKER_04: I just I'm done with that guy.
- 14:47SPEAKER_04: He completely betrayed us.
- 14:49SPEAKER_04: He kept talking about how the agents and stuff and the uh the organization of Detroit weren't getting stuff done.
- 14:56SPEAKER_04: He just didn't want to be there.
- 14:57SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 14:58SPEAKER_04: Now he's made it clear.
- 15:00SPEAKER_04: I'm rooting for anybody with the Dodgers.
- 15:02SPEAKER_04: I would I mean, I wouldn't mind seeing the Rays.
- 15:05SPEAKER_04: Rays are Brewers, really.
- 15:06SPEAKER_04: I don't really want the Guardians because they're in Detroit's division, but yeah.
- 15:12SPEAKER_03: Um as I told you earlier this baseball season, I had given up on baseball with how bad the Boston Red Sox were, because I'm a Red Sox fan.
- 15:20SPEAKER_03: And then all of a sudden, in the middle of the season, we remembered how to play baseball.
- 15:24SPEAKER_03: And I said, What I'm gonna hate is I'm gonna get excited, I'm gonna start watching all of our games, and we're gonna go and lose in the first round of the playoffs.
- 15:33SPEAKER_03: What did we do?
- 15:34SPEAKER_03: We went and lost in the first round of the playoffs, and so it's not a good day as a Red Sox fan because the Rays are in the division when you just talked about your guardians, or not your guardians, but the guardians in the division.
- 15:45SPEAKER_03: We have the Rays that the Rays they'll look bad and then they just reload.
- 15:49SPEAKER_03: They got a bunch of guys that nobody knows, and then all of a sudden they're all phenomenal.
- 15:53SPEAKER_03: Their pitching is really good.
- 15:55SPEAKER_03: They play sound baseball.
- 15:57SPEAKER_03: Junior is a phenomenal player.
- 15:59SPEAKER_03: He's awesome.
- 16:00SPEAKER_03: Um, I think that that I think that game, that series is gonna go seven games.
- 16:05SPEAKER_03: I think the Brewers and Dodgers are gonna go seven games.
- 16:08SPEAKER_04: Oh, I don't I think the Brewers might I think they might sweep them.
- 16:13SPEAKER_04: I the Dodgers pitching is good, but they can't hit right now.
- 16:16SPEAKER_04: Like they can't hit.
- 16:17SPEAKER_04: I mean, they're talking about Tawny, they're talking about he needs multiple surgeries because of how he can't turn.
- 16:23SPEAKER_04: Like I watched the breakdown of him, he can't turn his hips.
- 16:25SPEAKER_04: I don't know if you've seen that, but no, but he can't even swing.
- 16:28SPEAKER_03: It does make sense because I've seen some conspiracy theories that he is actually not a real human, he is a robot, and now the robot is malfunctioning.
- 16:38SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 16:38SPEAKER_03: I watched a two-minute video on it yesterday and I thought it was a joke, and then the guy said at the end, he said, you'll see.
- 16:44SPEAKER_03: He'll get benched in game three, and it'll finally come out that he's a robot.
- 16:46SPEAKER_03: And I was like, Oh, all right, that's an interesting take.
- 16:49SPEAKER_03: Uh, but I think that I think the Brewers take it in seven.
- 16:53SPEAKER_03: It's easy to say now when they're down two to zero, because I would have taken the Dodgers in five.
- 16:58SPEAKER_03: Uh, but I'm gonna take the Brew in seven, I'm gonna take the Rays in seven, and then I'm gonna take the Brewers on in five games in the World Series.
- 17:08SPEAKER_03: Brewers.
- 17:09SPEAKER_03: You want to make a World Series pick?
- 17:11SPEAKER_04: Yeah, let's go.
- 17:13SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna have the same.
- 17:15SPEAKER_04: I think the Brewers win.
- 17:16SPEAKER_04: I think the Brewers are beating the Dodgers in four or five.
- 17:20SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 17:21SPEAKER_04: I think I just think the Dodgers are done.
- 17:24SPEAKER_04: Um Guardians, I actually told Robo that the Guardians were gonna beat the Rays, so I'm gonna stick with that.
- 17:30SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you can't go back on your word too.
- 17:32SPEAKER_04: Even though I think the Rays are a fun team to watch because they play small ball, and so do the Brewers.
- 17:40SPEAKER_04: I think that's why they have success.
- 17:42SPEAKER_04: They play small beer small ball for 162 games during the regular season.
- 17:46SPEAKER_04: All these other teams hit, they swing for home runs every time.
- 17:49SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 17:49SPEAKER_04: And then when they get in the playoffs, they try to play that way, but you're not used to playing like that.
- 17:52SPEAKER_04: So you're bunting.
- 17:53SPEAKER_04: I mean, you can't bunt, you can't.
- 17:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 17:55SPEAKER_04: Um I'm gonna say Guardians win in six, and then I'm gonna say the Brewers beat the Guardians in six.
- 18:03SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 18:03SPEAKER_04: The Guardians pitching, they have some dominant pitchers, so it'll be interesting to see if they can hold the rays down or not.
- 18:12SPEAKER_04: But that series should be good.
- 18:14SPEAKER_04: Both series should be good.
- 18:15SPEAKER_03: It's really cool in baseball how many fast arms we have right now.
- 18:19SPEAKER_03: There's so many guys where before, you know, 15, 20 years ago, every guy that could throw over 100 miles an hour, everybody knew their names because it was such a small number of people.
- 18:29SPEAKER_03: I remember when one of your favorite guys, Joel Zamaya, would come in, terrible pitcher, but just throwing gas.
- 18:36SPEAKER_03: Uh, no brakes, all gas, 105 miles an hour, walking guys doing everything else.
- 18:41SPEAKER_03: There's so many guys now that they have such incredible control on top of it.
- 18:46SPEAKER_03: It's just it's really awesome.
- 18:47SPEAKER_03: Except for the Tigers.
- 18:48SPEAKER_03: Except for the team.
- 18:49SPEAKER_04: We have no one.
- 18:50SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 18:51SPEAKER_04: Except, I mean, we have starting pitching, but no relievers that can come in and throw.
- 18:55SPEAKER_04: And then I watch these other teams, and it's like they have a guy that come in 98, 99, 100, everybody, everybody that comes out of the bullpen.
- 19:02SPEAKER_03: I thought Boston would have more guys that threw hard.
- 19:05SPEAKER_03: Uh they got a they have a lot more guys with nasty off-speed stuff than our starters almost throw as hard as our bullpen, which is a really weird really I just like having if you have somebody that can come in and throw a hundred, you don't have to have other pitches.
- 19:19SPEAKER_04: Like yeah.
- 19:20SPEAKER_04: If you're if you were throwing off speed and then you're not on that day, it's yeah, it's tough.
- 19:25SPEAKER_03: If you can hit your spots, you can throw the speed, you can make it happen.
- 19:28SPEAKER_03: So but we appreciate all these callers for uh calling in, giving us some great questions.
- 19:33SPEAKER_03: Uh we will try to do this with we'll try to do all the calls, depending on the amount of calls that come in.
- 19:39SPEAKER_03: Uh, but again, we're gonna post this week.
- 19:41SPEAKER_03: When we post this, we will post it with the link so you can call in or text into the show, and we would love to have you a part of it.
- 19:46SPEAKER_04: The Connor Stallions take on the back end of it.
- 19:49SPEAKER_04: Sure.
- 19:51SPEAKER_04: Is diabolical.
- 19:54SPEAKER_04: Connor Stallions did nothing wrong.
- 19:57SPEAKER_04: He's just a psychopath that loved Michigan football.
- 20:01SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 20:02SPEAKER_04: And he dedicated his life to recording other teams and deciphering their signals.
- 20:08SPEAKER_04: And I'll stand on that.
- 20:10SPEAKER_04: That's I will defend Connor Stallions.
- 20:12SPEAKER_04: Now, even if Connor Stallions was on this coaching staff, I don't think it would fix it because Bryce Underwood, you could tell him what's open, he's still gonna throw it the wrong direction or throw it to the other team or whatever.
- 20:26SPEAKER_04: Because our team uh or our offense is gonna just run the wrong Connor Stallions and say, This is what they're running on defense, and we'll still run a running play or something straight into what they're doing.
- 20:36SPEAKER_04: So I'm gonna go.
- 20:37SPEAKER_03: Connor Stallions makes the call.
- 20:38SPEAKER_03: Hey, they're blitzing off the right edge, and we're running to the right straight at him.
- 20:42SPEAKER_03: And no, we're gonna do a play action bootleg out to the right.
- 20:44SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 20:45SPEAKER_03: Bryce Hunterwood's gonna get decleated.
- 20:47SPEAKER_03: What happened, coach?
- 20:49SPEAKER_03: Uh, when you said play action pass to the right, we thought it was gonna be really successful.
- 20:54SPEAKER_03: But yeah, I I love Connor Stallions.
- 20:57SPEAKER_03: Um, I have joked that I think John or that I think Connor Stallions should be in the Michigan Hall of Fame.
- 21:03SPEAKER_03: Uh, because honestly, there were a lot of players, I mean, there were a lot of coaches doing it across the country.
- 21:10SPEAKER_03: Just Connor Stallions was the absolute best at what he was doing.
- 21:13SPEAKER_03: And like you said, he was a psychopath.
- 21:15SPEAKER_03: He when you start looking into the documents that he had and how he had every single sign that people used and how they used it, you would think that if he could do that, some other people could do it just as well.
- 21:29SPEAKER_03: But there wasn't another guy like that.
- 21:31SPEAKER_04: He was devoting 22 hours out of his day, though.
- 21:33SPEAKER_04: He wasn't sleeping.
- 21:34SPEAKER_04: Yeah, there's no way that guy was sleeping.
- 21:36SPEAKER_04: In Connor, we trust, bring him back.
- 21:38SPEAKER_03: Hire him.
- 21:39SPEAKER_03: You can't.
- 21:39SPEAKER_03: He's not he's got a show clause too.
- 21:41SPEAKER_03: Connor tallians.
- 21:42SPEAKER_03: He's just needs a cousin.
- 21:44SPEAKER_03: They're trying to hold Michigan down.
- 21:46SPEAKER_03: I mean, it's just at this point, we know what it is.
- 21:48SPEAKER_03: So, um, but we're gonna jump into college football here.
- 21:51SPEAKER_03: We have six games that we're gonna break down.
- 21:53SPEAKER_03: Uh the picks are gonna be available.
- 21:54SPEAKER_03: We hope you guys make the picks as well.
- 21:56SPEAKER_03: Um, we're gonna start off with our first game, Florida at Texas.
- 22:00SPEAKER_03: Who you got?
- 22:00SPEAKER_03: I'm taking Florida.
- 22:02SPEAKER_03: Again.
- 22:04SPEAKER_03: Before we get into this, if you guys did not know, a lot of times I just avoid talking about Florida football with people.
- 22:11SPEAKER_03: Because just like people avoid talking Michigan football with me, they only want to tell me Michigan stuff when we lose.
- 22:18SPEAKER_03: I try to just avoid Florida football because I have a ton of Florida fans.
- 22:22SPEAKER_03: I mean of Florida fans that are my friends and and family members.
- 22:25SPEAKER_03: So I avoid it.
- 22:26SPEAKER_03: We've been very positive on this pod for the last two weeks about Florida.
- 22:29SPEAKER_03: They've lost both games.
- 22:31SPEAKER_03: I have received messages, direct messages on Twitter, TikTok, and to my cell phone that said if I talk positive about the University of Florida anymore, people will stop listening to the pod.
- 22:44SPEAKER_03: So go ahead.
- 22:45SPEAKER_03: Now you're continuing with your take.
- 22:47SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 22:48SPEAKER_04: Florida is 10-point underdogs, I think.
- 22:51SPEAKER_04: Whenever I looked, I think they're winning outright.
- 22:54SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 22:56SPEAKER_04: They have to bounce back.
- 22:57SPEAKER_04: There's no way.
- 22:58SPEAKER_04: I said this last week.
- 23:00SPEAKER_04: There's no way that they don't bounce back.
- 23:02SPEAKER_04: And I love John Summer.
- 23:04SPEAKER_04: I don't know if you saw his interviews after the game.
- 23:06SPEAKER_04: I wish he was Michigan's coach at this point.
- 23:08SPEAKER_04: I wouldn't even care if we went eight and four.
- 23:11SPEAKER_04: He's actually, he he reminds me of Dan Campbell, which and I love Dan Campbell.
- 23:16SPEAKER_04: Um after the game, they're talking about the fans booing.
- 23:19SPEAKER_04: I don't know if you've seen any of this, but he said they deserved to boo.
- 23:22SPEAKER_04: And he's like, I'm glad they care that much to boo.
- 23:25SPEAKER_04: But he also goes in depth on stuff where other coaches, it's just coach speak.
- 23:29SPEAKER_04: He's actually just saying whatever he wants.
- 23:31SPEAKER_04: Like he's not media trained, so he just says whatever.
- 23:34SPEAKER_04: And I love that.
- 23:35SPEAKER_04: But I am after watching Texas against Oklahoma, I I thought Texas would roll them after watching Oklahoma play Michigan.
- 23:44SPEAKER_04: Even in that game, Oklahoma, they scored on a um punt block and a pick six.
- 23:51SPEAKER_04: Um Arch looked awful for a lot of that game.
- 23:55SPEAKER_04: The picks he threw were awful.
- 23:58SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 23:58SPEAKER_04: He threw a couple of good passes late to drive them right back down the field, but I don't I I still I think Florida beats him.
- 24:07SPEAKER_04: I just I don't I mean it's on the road, so it's gonna be tough, and Texas's defense is solid.
- 24:12SPEAKER_04: I just think their offense is kind of lacking.
- 24:15SPEAKER_04: I don't know what they need to go up tempo or something because they just uh they look bad.
- 24:21SPEAKER_03: I may have gone one and four on my picks last week, but I described that game perfectly with Texas and Oklahoma.
- 24:26SPEAKER_03: That Arch would struggle, that Texas's defense would carry him.
- 24:31SPEAKER_03: I did not expect Texas to give Oklahoma 14 points.
- 24:37SPEAKER_03: Um Arch did make the greatest drive of his life after I think they gave him 17 too because the last pick he threw I mean we're gonna get to that in a second.
- 24:45SPEAKER_03: I'm just saying they'll get to that in a second.
- 24:48SPEAKER_03: But Arch, after he threw the pick six to go down, he had the greatest drive of his life to come back, lead them the whole way down the field, hit every throw, did everything he was supposed to in like three minutes and twenty three seconds.
- 25:01SPEAKER_03: And I thought, okay, this is when Arch is finally gonna turn it on.
- 25:05SPEAKER_03: And then Arch gets the ball back after Oklahoma misses the field goal.
- 25:10SPEAKER_03: All you have to do is literally not throw a pick, and you're gonna win the game.
- 25:14SPEAKER_03: When he came over and he rolls out to the right and he looks over and he doesn't even see his wide receiver turn around yet, and he throws it to the only place that the guy can pick it off.
- 25:23SPEAKER_03: That was a moment I was out on arch.
- 25:26SPEAKER_03: Give me Texas to win this game.
- 25:29SPEAKER_03: I am back in on Arch now.
- 25:31SPEAKER_03: I am gonna take Texas and I'm gonna take Texas by three.
- 25:37SPEAKER_03: I think that I think Big Arch is gonna learn.
- 25:40SPEAKER_03: I think he's gonna lead them down.
- 25:42SPEAKER_03: Um if this was at the swamp, it might be a different story because if you're gonna boo, if you're gonna boo after losing two games in a row, you're gonna go nuts against Texas.
- 25:53SPEAKER_03: But I've got Texas, so I'm going with the big boys from Texas.
- 25:57SPEAKER_03: I may regret it later, but I would like people to keep listening.
- 26:00SPEAKER_03: So Florida, you will not get talked about.
- 26:02SPEAKER_04: All Texas Another thing about that game, uh Sark had a quote and said if Manning wasn't the name on the back of the jersey that he would be getting praised as a Texas quarterback, my take on that is he would not be the starting quarterback for Texas.
- 26:18SPEAKER_04: He wouldn't.
- 26:19SPEAKER_04: He would have either gotten benched by now or he would have transferred out because he got replaced after like in the offseason.
- 26:25SPEAKER_04: Because I've only seen him look good a couple times.
- 26:29SPEAKER_04: One of them was against Michigan in the bowl game.
- 26:30SPEAKER_04: He lit up Michigan.
- 26:32SPEAKER_04: But like even against Ohio State at the beginning of this year when they won, they had, I mean, they're getting beat 23 to 0 or 20 to 0, and then they finally scored late.
- 26:40SPEAKER_04: Like, and they I mean he came back and won, but I just don't I don't think he's got it.
- 26:45SPEAKER_03: I think if he wasn't a Manning and if he wasn't given what he has, and you don't have the Manning showing up every week and getting all this extra publicity from it, I think Darien Mensa is the quarterback of the Texas Longhorns right now, and I think they're a much better team than what they are.
- 27:00SPEAKER_03: Um, we're gonna go out to a Big Ten battle of Ohio State versus Indiana.
- 27:05SPEAKER_03: Indiana looked rough last week.
- 27:06SPEAKER_03: They got down late, got down by 11 points, uh, came back and won.
- 27:11SPEAKER_03: Um they were outmanned, outmatched by Nebraska for most of that game, and then Nebraska.
- 27:17SPEAKER_03: Uh teams that don't expect to win just end up with some terrible play calling uh late in games.
- 27:22SPEAKER_03: And so Matt Rule, I think, dropped the ball there.
- 27:25SPEAKER_03: Indiana should not have won that game.
- 27:26SPEAKER_03: I've got I've got Ohio State winning this game.
- 27:29SPEAKER_03: I think Ohio State is just a different animal, and I've got Ohio State by a touchdown at least.
- 27:37SPEAKER_04: I think Ohio State handles them easily.
- 27:40SPEAKER_04: After watching Indiana, they didn't they didn't impress me much against Nebraska.
- 27:44SPEAKER_04: Um the way they bounced back was the only thing that was kind of impressive was they got down 17 to 6, and then they immediately threw that 75 yards five-yard touchdown pass to Nick Marsh.
- 27:57SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 27:57SPEAKER_04: Which Nick Marsh, I don't know if he went to Michigan State, and then I was hoping he transferred to Michigan.
- 28:02SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 28:03SPEAKER_04: Because we have Andrew Marsh, even though they're not related, get Marsh on both sides.
- 28:08SPEAKER_04: But I said something about Charlie Becker and Josh Hoover last week.
- 28:12SPEAKER_04: It ended up being Nick Marsh because he caught the second touchdown too, the next or the next touchdown.
- 28:18SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 28:18SPEAKER_03: Um they were taking away Becker.
- 28:19SPEAKER_03: They were double teaming him.
- 28:20SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 28:21SPEAKER_04: Becker had a couple catches early and then he didn't really do much, but Nick Marsh stepped up.
- 28:25SPEAKER_04: Um I think Ohio State handles them easy.
- 28:28SPEAKER_04: I just I don't it's tough for me to pick against Ohio State at this point until somebody shows that they can do something to Jeremiah Smith.
- 28:36SPEAKER_04: I just don't see how you stop them.
- 28:39SPEAKER_03: Ohio State was a chance.
- 28:40SPEAKER_03: I know they lost to Texas, but I don't Ohio State was my national champion pick.
- 28:43SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 28:44SPEAKER_03: I didn't pick Oregon a couple weeks ago.
- 28:46SPEAKER_03: So I I'm back on don't talk about Wellon.
- 28:49SPEAKER_03: We're back to Ohio State.
- 28:50SPEAKER_03: Um Alabama at Tennessee.
- 28:53SPEAKER_03: Two teams looking to bounce back.
- 28:55SPEAKER_04: I think Alabama is handling them easy too.
- 28:58SPEAKER_04: Um if I was an Alabama fan, I would be even losing to Georgia, I would be excited with what I saw out of your.
- 29:07SPEAKER_04: There's a lot of positives to take.
- 29:09SPEAKER_04: Like Keelon Russell looks legit.
- 29:11SPEAKER_04: Like I thought he would not look great against Georgia, which I know they didn't score that many points, but it was also it rained.
- 29:18SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 29:18SPEAKER_04: Like the field was all wet and stuff, but literally the aftermath of a hurricane going through it.
- 29:23SPEAKER_04: But some of the throws he made, I don't know if you've I saw a couple of breakdowns.
- 29:27SPEAKER_04: He made some throws, like or you're throwing in between guys, and then you have to throw it on the certain side of the receiver so it's not getting picked.
- 29:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 29:34SPEAKER_04: And he was making tough throws.
- 29:36SPEAKER_04: Um, Alabama kind of got hosed at the end of the Georgia game.
- 29:40SPEAKER_04: I don't know if you're watching it.
- 29:42SPEAKER_03: I was not, but I watched the highest.
- 29:43SPEAKER_04: Clear PI was bad.
- 29:45SPEAKER_04: I mean, the receiver got straight tackled.
- 29:49SPEAKER_04: I I know there's missed calls in the games, but that was a that would have put him on I think it was in the end zone, so it would have put him on the two.
- 29:57SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 29:57SPEAKER_04: And that I don't I just don't know how you miss those.
- 29:59SPEAKER_04: But Tennessee, the other thing about Tennessee, um I thought they benched their quarterback.
- 30:05SPEAKER_04: I don't know if you know, if you've watched them, FaZe On Brandon, I think is his name.
- 30:09SPEAKER_04: Um I thought they benched him going into the last week.
- 30:13SPEAKER_04: Then after the game, Josh Hepel, they asked him about a quarterback and how he was dealing with getting benched because he was one of the last players out celebrating.
- 30:22SPEAKER_04: So they were saying, like, are you happy that he's still engaged?
- 30:25SPEAKER_04: And then Hypel came back and said, Oh no, he wasn't playing because of health reasons.
- 30:29SPEAKER_04: So I don't know, I don't know what's going on with Tennessee, but I don't think they're I don't think they're on the level of Alabama or the top of the SEC anyways, but I don't they're kind of confusing me because I don't know what is going on.
- 30:41SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I think Hypel's got a way to go to keep that program going.
- 30:44SPEAKER_03: Tennessee's another weird program.
- 30:46SPEAKER_03: Like the last 20 years, they'll get a guy, they start looking better, and then they'll lose in a recruiting cycle, and then they'll be terrible.
- 30:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I think they're he's got their program to where they can win any given week, but they're not beating Alabama.
- 30:58SPEAKER_03: Give me Bama.
- 30:59SPEAKER_03: Roll tide.
- 31:00SPEAKER_03: Uh Missouri at Ole Miss.
- 31:02SPEAKER_03: Really good battle, both teams with one loss.
- 31:05SPEAKER_03: Uh, I think they're ranked like eight, 13 and 8 when I was looking at it.
- 31:09SPEAKER_03: Um, just really quickly, who you got?
- 31:11SPEAKER_03: Missouri or Ole Miss?
- 31:12SPEAKER_03: I'm taking Ole Miss.
- 31:13SPEAKER_03: I think Shambless is too much.
- 31:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 31:17SPEAKER_03: I've got Ole Miss.
- 31:18SPEAKER_03: I'm hoping that we can see Lacey at some point again.
- 31:22SPEAKER_03: He played a little bit last week.
- 31:23SPEAKER_03: But I'm saying full strength, full health, 20 to 30 carries a game.
- 31:28SPEAKER_03: Like you can tell even when you can tell even when he's out there, he doesn't look comfortable.
- 31:34SPEAKER_03: Like he still is a good running back.
- 31:35SPEAKER_03: He makes the plays, but that guy is incredible when he's healthy.
- 31:39SPEAKER_03: Uh hopefully he can keep getting back to that.
- 31:41SPEAKER_03: Uh maybe the best matchup of the weekend right here with Nordame at BYU, two undefeated teams, two teams that this is probably the only game that's circled on theirs uh thinking that they could lose.
- 31:54SPEAKER_03: Uh Notre Dame at BYU, I've got Notre Dame going and winning on the road.
- 31:58SPEAKER_03: I've told you I think Notre Dame goes undefeated.
- 32:00SPEAKER_03: Um I said to you, I believe when we were talking about, I said if if Notre Dame wins this game, they will be the number one seed in the turn, I mean in the playoffs.
- 32:08SPEAKER_03: The only one that I think could knock them off is if Georgia goes undefeated.
- 32:12SPEAKER_04: Ohio State, maybe.
- 32:13SPEAKER_04: Oh no, they already have.
- 32:14SPEAKER_03: No, Ohio State already lost.
- 32:15SPEAKER_03: They're not gonna put a team that has one loss.
- 32:17SPEAKER_03: So um, and especially when they made that deal with Notre Dame already, if you know, if you go undefeated or whatever, if you if you ranked this, you're getting in.
- 32:26SPEAKER_03: So I think they already feel like they owe them something.
- 32:28SPEAKER_03: They're gonna get the number one seed.
- 32:30SPEAKER_03: So I've got them knocking off BYU in a close game, but I think carr is too much.
- 32:35SPEAKER_03: Um, he's gonna also play for Michigan after he finishes this game.
- 32:40SPEAKER_04: Uh, that's the wrong car.
- 32:42SPEAKER_04: Um, CJ Carr denied us.
- 32:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 32:47SPEAKER_04: But, anyways, um I think Notre Dame beats them too.
- 32:51SPEAKER_04: Um I watched BYU play last week.
- 32:55SPEAKER_04: Their defense, they have a solid defense.
- 32:57SPEAKER_04: Very good defense.
- 32:58SPEAKER_04: Their offense is not great.
- 33:00SPEAKER_04: Like they kind of just have to run the ball, it's controlling the ball.
- 33:04SPEAKER_04: They get good field position off their defense.
- 33:07SPEAKER_04: Give yourself short fields.
- 33:08SPEAKER_04: Notre Dame, I think, is just a solid team.
- 33:10SPEAKER_04: Like, I don't know.
- 33:12SPEAKER_04: I I think they beat them.
- 33:13SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 33:14SPEAKER_03: And then uh our last game, obviously, we had to pick our team.
- 33:17SPEAKER_03: Um, it's a favorite.
- 33:19SPEAKER_03: I mean, that's not a favorite, it's a rivalry.
- 33:21SPEAKER_03: Uh Penn State coming into Michigan.
- 33:23SPEAKER_03: Are they doing a yellow out?
- 33:24SPEAKER_03: I mean, a maze out?
- 33:25SPEAKER_03: I'm not sure.
- 33:26SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 33:27SPEAKER_03: I normally know when we're doing a maze out.
- 33:29SPEAKER_03: I wouldn't be surprised if we do a blue out, do a maze out.
- 33:31SPEAKER_03: It doesn't matter.
- 33:32SPEAKER_03: Uh we're still gonna sell out.
- 33:35SPEAKER_03: It's still gonna be a rivalry game.
- 33:36SPEAKER_03: It's gonna be our championship for the weekend.
- 33:39SPEAKER_03: Penn State and Michigan.
- 33:40SPEAKER_04: I was waiting to get to this one because I got some things to say about Michigan.
- 33:45SPEAKER_04: Go ahead.
- 33:46SPEAKER_04: Go ahead.
- 33:46SPEAKER_04: First, I do think Michigan wins this week.
- 33:49SPEAKER_04: I think Penn State is I think both these programs are in bad shape right now.
- 33:55SPEAKER_04: Absolutely.
- 33:56SPEAKER_04: Penn State looks just like they were with James Franklin, where they beat teams that they're supposed to beat and then they lose to any team that's competent.
- 34:03SPEAKER_04: Um so Campbell's gonna be on the hot seat quickly in Penn State.
- 34:08SPEAKER_04: And I saw, I don't know if you've seen this, but a lot of the I've seen different reports from multiple people talking about Penn State's NIL.
- 34:15SPEAKER_04: I guess they are putting nothing in NIL, like, and they're saying a bunch of the Big Ten um, because they all have GMs now and stuff, so it's kind of weird now.
- 34:23SPEAKER_04: But a lot, I guess um, what's his name?
- 34:28SPEAKER_04: I can't think of the reporter.
- 34:30SPEAKER_04: He he was doing all the Jim Harbaugh stuff too.
- 34:33SPEAKER_04: He hates Michigan.
- 34:34SPEAKER_04: Oh, Thamil, Pete Thamill.
- 34:36SPEAKER_04: He it was a report that he did.
- 34:38SPEAKER_04: He's he had reached out and or had people reach out to them and said that they think Penn State football will have zero chance going forward until they change some of NL because they're putting no money in.
- 34:49SPEAKER_04: Um going back to Michigan.
- 34:53SPEAKER_04: Kyle Whittingham talked about this by week there'd be a lot of changes, or there could be changes, big changes.
- 34:59SPEAKER_04: Yeah, what are the big changes?
- 35:01SPEAKER_04: Zero.
- 35:02SPEAKER_04: Exactly.
- 35:02SPEAKER_04: They Bryce underwood still the quarterback, offensive coordinator, still the offensive coordinator.
- 35:07SPEAKER_04: And play calling.
- 35:08SPEAKER_04: Yeah, he's calling all the plays.
- 35:10SPEAKER_04: That's what I mean.
- 35:10SPEAKER_04: Um they're still running the rhino, which is an extra offensive lineman instead of a tight end basically.
- 35:17SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that does nothing.
- 35:18SPEAKER_04: Which is I would get it if you were running, if you could actually run the ball, maybe, but we can't run the ball, so I don't really understand why we're not playing tight ends.
- 35:28SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 35:28SPEAKER_04: Um also I don't know why you wouldn't have a tight end if they can block anyways.
- 35:32SPEAKER_04: They can do both.
- 35:34SPEAKER_03: But the whole concept of offense is just we had Zach Marshall, who's a very good tight end at Spurts, and so we thought he was gonna be a guy that takes a big step forward.
- 35:43SPEAKER_03: You know, you And now he doesn't even play.
- 35:45SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he he is in group chats texting about everybody.
- 35:48SPEAKER_04: But I'm so annoyed with Michigan football.
- 35:52SPEAKER_04: I just want them I want them to move on after the season and go get I want Chesney from UCLA.
- 36:00SPEAKER_04: Give us Chesney, not Kenny, not Kenny Chesney.
- 36:04SPEAKER_03: It's five o'clock somewhere.
- 36:06SPEAKER_03: I am also going with Michigan.
- 36:08SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna keep it short and sweet.
- 36:11SPEAKER_03: Bryce underware.
- 36:13SPEAKER_03: Underware, not under wood anymore.
- 36:16SPEAKER_03: Bryce Underware is going to come out, probably not dominate, but he's gonna lead us to a victory.
- 36:24SPEAKER_03: I think this will by it finally be the week that we get a little bit of a run game.
- 36:27SPEAKER_03: I think we'll get some guys in space.
- 36:30SPEAKER_03: We got to get rid of this rhino garbage.
- 36:32SPEAKER_03: I I Zach Marshall needs to be on the field, he needs to stretch the field, he's got to block, he's got to do a little bit of everything.
- 36:38SPEAKER_03: But if we don't start getting our running backs to be able to get past the first line defense, if we can't get our offensive lineman to a linebacker and put a put a hat on a hat and actually be able to block, it's gonna be a very long season.
- 36:52SPEAKER_03: Um, but we're taking down Penn State because even on our worst years when we were terrible, we would still give Penn State a fight of their life.
- 37:00SPEAKER_03: They are like a little brother at this point.
- 37:03SPEAKER_03: Uh shout out to all these Penn State fans.
- 37:05SPEAKER_03: It's the same way I look at Michigan State.
- 37:07SPEAKER_03: It doesn't matter what team we put on the field, we're better than Penn State.
- 37:10SPEAKER_03: That's the way I look at it.
- 37:11SPEAKER_03: We're gonna keep moving on.
- 37:12SPEAKER_04: I do hope if Bryce struggles that they go to Tommy Carr this game.
- 37:17SPEAKER_04: That he got some reps.
- 37:18SPEAKER_04: 50% of the first team snaps.
- 37:20SPEAKER_04: And they're saying that if if things go bad, that they could make the change.
- 37:24SPEAKER_04: I don't know if I trust them to actually make the change, but I hope they do just to see what it looks like.
- 37:29SPEAKER_04: Um the other thing, Andrew Sprague or Sprague, our offensive lineman, he's probably our best offensive lineman.
- 37:36SPEAKER_04: They're saying that he basically just quit on us.
- 37:38SPEAKER_04: Yeah, they don't even know what he's doing.
- 37:40SPEAKER_04: And one of the other offensive linemen defended them and said he has some uh personal stuff going on, but the coaching staff doesn't even know what's happening.
- 37:48SPEAKER_04: So it's like they think he's just basically quitting on us.
- 37:52SPEAKER_04: So that's not great.
- 37:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's uh just a sign of a really good program from top to bottom, top to bottom when uh you don't even know what's going on.
- 38:00SPEAKER_03: So um that's it for college football this week.
- 38:02SPEAKER_03: Uh check the link, make sure you put in your picks for those top six games.
- 38:07SPEAKER_03: Um, again, Elizabeth Barker and Keith Barker are on top.
- 38:10SPEAKER_03: They went three and two last week.
- 38:12SPEAKER_03: Um, really good games.
- 38:15SPEAKER_03: This weekend is probably the best weekend so far for college football.
- 38:19SPEAKER_03: I've seen a lot of people say they will not get off the couch from noon all the way till midnight because of how many good games there are.
- 38:24SPEAKER_03: So we hope that you guys do that.
- 38:26SPEAKER_03: We hope you enjoy it.
- 38:27SPEAKER_03: Make sure you're rooting on Michigan and uh we'll go from there.
- 38:29SPEAKER_03: So we're gonna jump into the NFL.
- 38:31SPEAKER_03: Uh last week there was a lot of you that participated.
- 38:34SPEAKER_03: I think we had 15 people make NFL picks.
- 38:37SPEAKER_03: And so uh really good, really fun time.
- 38:40SPEAKER_03: I enjoy it.
- 38:41SPEAKER_03: Like I said, at the end, we'll give you guys a gift card or something just so you can be a part of the family and and enjoy that.
- 38:49SPEAKER_03: Um week five, a lot of really good games for college football.
- 38:55SPEAKER_03: But another week that you don't even have to know these teams, and you can get lucky.
- 39:02SPEAKER_03: How do I know this?
- 39:04SPEAKER_03: Because Pastor Bonnie won it last week with 11 11 wins, and so she picked 11 games right out of I think 15.
- 39:14SPEAKER_03: Less than that, because there was how many teams were on by?
- 39:17SPEAKER_03: I think there were six, so it'd be 13.
- 39:20SPEAKER_03: I feel like there's more games than that, but it doesn't matter anyway.
- 39:23SPEAKER_04: I know there's at least four on by.
- 39:25SPEAKER_03: She picked uh she picked at least 75% of these games right, which is really good.
- 39:31SPEAKER_03: Um, pass from Mike got second with 10, and then uh James Top, Maxwell, and Clay Jacobs finished it out with nine.
- 39:39SPEAKER_03: Uh Zeke, we both had eight, so we were right there.
- 39:43SPEAKER_03: Um, and then shout out to one person, they only got six.
- 39:47SPEAKER_03: Uh, shout out to the number one uncle in Forney, Texas.
- 39:51SPEAKER_03: Uh, Uncle Scott picks it up with six.
- 39:54SPEAKER_03: Um we love you.
- 39:56SPEAKER_03: We appreciate you.
- 39:57SPEAKER_04: Absolutely hammered in fantasy by my team.
- 40:00SPEAKER_04: He did.
- 40:01SPEAKER_04: He called me and was asking if I felt bad, and I said, absolutely not.
- 40:05SPEAKER_04: That's what you get.
- 40:07SPEAKER_03: So there were 14 games.
- 40:08SPEAKER_03: I just looked at it.
- 40:09SPEAKER_04: 14 games.
- 40:10SPEAKER_04: So she got 11 out of 14.
- 40:11SPEAKER_04: 11 out of 14.
- 40:12SPEAKER_04: That's a really good percentage.
- 40:13SPEAKER_04: And we got eight out of 14.
- 40:14SPEAKER_04: 8 out of 14 is not terrible.
- 40:16SPEAKER_04: I mean, it's not the worst.
- 40:17SPEAKER_04: I would like to get up to 10 this week.
- 40:19SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 40:19SPEAKER_04: So I think there's six buys, though.
- 40:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 40:21SPEAKER_03: So we're gonna go through these games, NFL.
- 40:24SPEAKER_03: Um, we're gonna keep trying to keep this short here.
- 40:26SPEAKER_03: So we're gonna try to just fly through these games, really, only talk if there's something major in these.
- 40:31SPEAKER_03: Uh, but these picks are gonna be posted Thursday night, Zeke.
- 40:34SPEAKER_03: We got the Seattle Seahawks against the Denver Broncos.
- 40:36SPEAKER_03: Really good matchup.
- 40:37SPEAKER_03: Who you got?
- 40:38SPEAKER_04: I am taking the Seahawks.
- 40:40SPEAKER_03: All right, I'm gonna take the Broncos.
- 40:41SPEAKER_03: I think that short week, both teams are gonna be looking awful.
- 40:44SPEAKER_03: I think it's gonna be a very low-scoring game.
- 40:46SPEAKER_03: I think it's gonna be terrible.
- 40:47SPEAKER_03: Uh, very nicely, if you play fantasy football, do not start any players from these two teams.
- 40:53SPEAKER_03: Don't play people on Thursday night games.
- 40:55SPEAKER_03: Learn your lesson.
- 40:56SPEAKER_03: Don't play Thursday night players.
- 40:58SPEAKER_03: Uh, Houston Texans going to London to play the Jacksonville Jaguars at home.
- 41:04SPEAKER_03: This is a tough one.
- 41:06SPEAKER_04: I picked the Texans and now I almost want to change it.
- 41:09SPEAKER_04: But I'm gonna stick with the Texans.
- 41:11SPEAKER_03: All right, I'm taking the London Jaguars.
- 41:14SPEAKER_03: I think you said last week, every time you start to believe in Trevor Lawrence, he takes a step forward and then he just falls backwards.
- 41:22SPEAKER_03: They are a very good team.
- 41:24SPEAKER_03: I don't know what they're doing offensively at receiver because they only throw to Parker Washington.
- 41:28SPEAKER_03: Jacoby Myers wins every one-on-one battle.
- 41:31SPEAKER_03: He doesn't get the ball.
- 41:32SPEAKER_03: When he catches the ball, 90% of the time it's a holding call.
- 41:35SPEAKER_03: Don't go back and check the stats, but it's a hundred percent of the time that there's a 92.
- 41:39SPEAKER_04: They only they throw to Brenton Strange and then Parker Washington.
- 41:42SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Brian Thomas Jr., he's gone.
- 41:45SPEAKER_04: Another guy.
- 41:46SPEAKER_04: Just a ghost out there.
- 41:47SPEAKER_03: He literally just runs routes.
- 41:49SPEAKER_03: So he's just getting cardio.
- 41:50SPEAKER_04: Yeah, he's just getting cardio for sure.
- 41:52SPEAKER_04: One thing I will say about the Texans, uh-huh.
- 41:54SPEAKER_04: They're one and four now.
- 41:56SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 41:56SPEAKER_04: I think they're coming back and winning the division.
- 41:59SPEAKER_04: That defense is nasty.
- 42:01SPEAKER_04: Um and now they just got Marvin Harrison, and I think he's gonna unlock something there with Stroud back.
- 42:06SPEAKER_03: So you're saying they're gonna pass they're gonna pass the four and one Jaguars.
- 42:10SPEAKER_03: I do.
- 42:11SPEAKER_03: And the three and two Colts.
- 42:13SPEAKER_03: Colts, I think they're two and three.
- 42:15SPEAKER_03: They just lost.
- 42:16SPEAKER_03: The Colts did lose, didn't they?
- 42:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 42:18SPEAKER_03: I was thinking they would.
- 42:22SPEAKER_03: Um, I'm still gonna go with the Jaguars.
- 42:26SPEAKER_03: I forgot the Titans were an NFL franchise, so uh Chicago Bears at the Falcons.
- 42:32SPEAKER_03: I'm taking the Falcons.
- 42:33SPEAKER_03: I've got the Falcons.
- 42:34SPEAKER_03: The Falcons ruined mining your picks last week.
- 42:37SPEAKER_03: You can't be up by eight points with three minutes to go.
- 42:41SPEAKER_03: They got to it.
- 42:42SPEAKER_03: They did get to it.
- 42:43SPEAKER_03: But also Penix getting hurt on the second to last play before regulation ends because he was looking the wrong way is the most Atlanta Falcons quarterback thing I've ever seen.
- 42:54SPEAKER_03: Did you see it?
- 42:54SPEAKER_03: I saw it, but I don't Bijan, I mean, Bijan Robinson completely missed the guy, though.
- 42:59SPEAKER_03: Yes, but they were drawing out a play for a guy on the left side and he turned and looked right right before he got hit.
- 43:06SPEAKER_03: They were looking, they showed the replay, there's nobody on the whole right side of the field.
- 43:10SPEAKER_03: So I don't know why he turned, unless maybe Bijan was supposed to go out there for uh like a little screens pass.
- 43:18SPEAKER_03: They don't have a good enough cannon with him back there, anyways, to go as many yards as they needed him to go.
- 43:23SPEAKER_03: Should have just dumped it off, got out of there.
- 43:25SPEAKER_03: But now, if two is playing this week, I'm very concerned.
- 43:28SPEAKER_03: But I also think Chicago is playing out of the, they were playing out of their mind until last week.
- 43:32SPEAKER_03: Banjent is terrible.
- 43:33SPEAKER_03: Case Keenum got brought in.
- 43:34SPEAKER_03: His first drive, he leads him all the way down, throws a pick.
- 43:37SPEAKER_03: No Monungay takes away a lot of a lot of physicality.
- 43:40SPEAKER_04: If Caleb Williams is back, which they're saying that there's a chance he plays.
- 43:45SPEAKER_04: I I would take the Bears.
- 43:47SPEAKER_04: We're gonna both officially take the Falcons on paper.
- 43:50SPEAKER_04: Falcons, if it's Panics versus Bajent or it's gonna be two.
- 43:56SPEAKER_04: It's gonna be two of them I think I think Panics is playing.
- 43:59SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna go ahead and Tell you now, I'm gonna break the news.
- 44:01SPEAKER_03: You can call me you can call me Jordan Rappaport.
- 44:04SPEAKER_03: Uh, it is going to be Tua Tagovaloa starting the game.
- 44:08SPEAKER_04: Did we see the interception?
- 44:09SPEAKER_04: Tua through.
- 44:10SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 44:10SPEAKER_03: It where did the defender come from?
- 44:12SPEAKER_03: He was standing there the entire time.
- 44:14SPEAKER_04: It's fine.
- 44:15SPEAKER_04: I saw a breakdown of him.
- 44:16SPEAKER_04: They're like, he was never even open and he never stopped looking at it.
- 44:19SPEAKER_04: Like, I don't know what's I think it's just the concussions have gotten to him, but it's like he used to be with the Dolphins.
- 44:25SPEAKER_04: He was somebody said that Tua forgot what team he was on.
- 44:29SPEAKER_04: Well, I also saw after the game, after he threw the pick, there's a video making fun of him because he ran to the sidelines.
- 44:35SPEAKER_04: Yeah, he just stopped and then he took off his helmet, stopped, turned around, and just was staring in the space, open space, and then it looked like he forgot what he was doing, and then one of the linemen like tapped him on the back and turned him around, and then he walked towards the but it's like he didn't realize the game was over.
- 44:50SPEAKER_03: He thought he completed a first out pass.
- 44:52SPEAKER_04: I don't know what's yeah.
- 44:54SPEAKER_04: I almost want to switch it to the bear.
- 44:55SPEAKER_04: I didn't if Tua plays, I'm going Bears.
- 44:57SPEAKER_04: I don't care who's playing quarterback.
- 44:59SPEAKER_03: You heard it here first, folks.
- 45:00SPEAKER_03: It's gonna be Tua.
- 45:01SPEAKER_03: It's gonna be Tua and Tua.
- 45:02SPEAKER_04: Tua the Bears.
- 45:03SPEAKER_03: Tua's leading him to a victory.
- 45:05SPEAKER_03: Pennyx Falcons.
- 45:06SPEAKER_03: And Tua we trust.
- 45:07SPEAKER_03: Uh Ravens at Browns.
- 45:10SPEAKER_03: I'm going Ravens here.
- 45:12SPEAKER_03: I'm going Ravens.
- 45:13SPEAKER_03: I'm saying Lamar has a good chance to play, but even if he doesn't, I'm still taking him.
- 45:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I've got Ravens.
- 45:17SPEAKER_03: I've seen Cleveland Browns were playing outside of what they should have been playing.
- 45:21SPEAKER_03: And uh they finally Judkins is hurt now.
- 45:24SPEAKER_03: They're gonna have McLaughlin McLaughlin starting.
- 45:27SPEAKER_03: I think it's gonna be a really rough.
- 45:29SPEAKER_03: Naeem hot Naheem Sanders just went on IR.
- 45:32SPEAKER_03: Judkins is probably not playing.
- 45:33SPEAKER_04: Raheem Sanders, yeah.
- 45:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah, the the team is just going downhill.
- 45:36SPEAKER_03: Um Titans at Colts.
- 45:38SPEAKER_03: I'm going Colts.
- 45:40SPEAKER_03: Anybody ever against the Titans.
- 45:42SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 45:43SPEAKER_03: This one's another easy one.
- 45:44SPEAKER_03: The Jets at the Patriots.
- 45:46SPEAKER_03: I'm taking the Patriots, but the Jets, I'm telling you, the Jets.
- 45:49SPEAKER_03: All right, Patriots by three touchdowns.
- 45:51SPEAKER_03: Drake May, another game with no turnovers.
- 45:54SPEAKER_03: If you are in a fantasy league and someone is trying to trade Drake May in a dynasty league, not a redraft league like Zeke's trying to trade Drake May right now.
- 46:02SPEAKER_03: If they are in a dynasty league, see if they're still willing to sell low on him.
- 46:06SPEAKER_03: Uh, because some guys may still be concerned about his turnovers, but he has turned the corner uh until about week nine, I believe.
- 46:13SPEAKER_03: And then our schedule gets a lot harder.
- 46:14SPEAKER_03: But I'm going with the Patriots.
- 46:16SPEAKER_03: Uh the Saints at the Giants, which may be the ugliest game of the weekend.
- 46:19SPEAKER_03: I'm taking the Giants.
- 46:21SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna take the Giants as well.
- 46:22SPEAKER_03: Jameis got him to 3-1-1.
- 46:24SPEAKER_03: JJ McCarthy.
- 46:26SPEAKER_03: JJ McCarthy came in, played some last week.
- 46:29SPEAKER_03: They didn't open the playbook for him, but they let him play a little bit.
- 46:31SPEAKER_03: I don't know if you saw that.
- 46:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I don't.
- 46:32SPEAKER_03: It was like when we had Cade McLamarrett.
- 46:35SPEAKER_04: The Giants did the same thing with Jackson Dart.
- 46:37SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it doesn't matter.
- 46:37SPEAKER_04: Whatever they had Russell Wilson and Jackson Dart was the backup.
- 46:40SPEAKER_04: They did, they brought him in and did like Wildcat basically.
- 46:43SPEAKER_03: I don't I don't really understand.
- 46:44SPEAKER_03: They're just such a better coaching staff than the rest of us.
- 46:46SPEAKER_03: They know what they're doing.
- 46:47SPEAKER_03: Uh Carolina Panthers high flying offense uh going in to play the Philadelphia Eagles.
- 46:53SPEAKER_04: I'm taking the Panthers.
- 46:54SPEAKER_04: I think the Eagles are dead.
- 47:00SPEAKER_03: I think their season's over.
- 47:02SPEAKER_03: I've got the Philadelphia Eagles.
- 47:06SPEAKER_03: I actually think this is when they turn their season around.
- 47:08SPEAKER_03: And so I think Makai Lemon is going to start playing very well.
- 47:14SPEAKER_03: Uh even last week, he started getting a lot more targets.
- 47:18SPEAKER_03: He started to, I think he had a five catches.
- 47:21SPEAKER_03: It was either five catches or seven catches.
- 47:23SPEAKER_03: He he had one of he had the most targets he's had throughout the season.
- 47:26SPEAKER_03: He had the most yards and the most catches.
- 47:29SPEAKER_03: And so I think they're gonna start using him a lot more.
- 47:31SPEAKER_03: Dallas Goddard came alive in that game.
- 47:33SPEAKER_03: I know they lost to Jacksonville.
- 47:35SPEAKER_03: They shouldn't have lost to Jacksonville.
- 47:37SPEAKER_03: They got ahead, gave up that big long field goal.
- 47:40SPEAKER_03: Did you watch the game when they gave up?
- 47:42SPEAKER_03: How do you give up that kick return to get him into range?
- 47:47SPEAKER_04: Like I know Dallas lost to the Ravens because they kicked it in a touchback and then the Ravens threw the pass and called timeout and kicked the field goal.
- 47:55SPEAKER_04: The Jags didn't have a timeout.
- 47:57SPEAKER_04: I don't know why I would have kicked it out of bounds before I kicked it.
- 48:00SPEAKER_04: Like I know you should be able to feel the kick return, but at the same time, it's like I wouldn't even give him a chance.
- 48:05SPEAKER_04: I 100% agree.
- 48:06SPEAKER_04: I think you got to be smart enough as the defender who chased him down and tackled him, let him run for two more seconds, then tackle him so the game's over.
- 48:14SPEAKER_04: Or hold them up, like almost hold them up.
- 48:16SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 48:17SPEAKER_04: Yeah, exactly.
- 48:18SPEAKER_04: I just don't it's crazy.
- 48:21SPEAKER_04: Like I know not everybody is that smart who plays in the NFL, but it seems like with as much football as you've played, like you would be smarter in these situations.
- 48:30SPEAKER_04: But even the coaches, it's like they look yeah, like they don't know when to call timeouts, they don't know, and with the Jags having no timeouts, I would have kicked it straight.
- 48:37SPEAKER_04: A touchback or out of or even out of bounds.
- 48:40SPEAKER_03: They need to play more video games, get into a lot more of these situations, uh, so you can see what happens when you get there.
- 48:45SPEAKER_03: Uh Pittsburgh Steelers at the Tampa Buccaneers.
- 48:48SPEAKER_03: I'm taking the Bucks here.
- 48:51SPEAKER_03: All right, Pittsburgh Steelers.
- 48:53SPEAKER_03: Uh, I think this is the last week that Baker does not start.
- 48:56SPEAKER_03: I think Baker comes back next week.
- 48:57SPEAKER_04: I saw a breakdown of teams that have more rest versus the other teams.
- 49:04SPEAKER_04: The Bucks played on Thursday night last week.
- 49:07SPEAKER_04: So now they got an extra couple days of rest.
- 49:11SPEAKER_04: Their record this year, I think, was 13-4 or something.
- 49:15SPEAKER_04: So I'm riding that.
- 49:17SPEAKER_03: Doesn't surprise Bucks.
- 49:19SPEAKER_03: And uh Jalen Daniels, he's look, he looked a lot better last week.
- 49:23SPEAKER_03: He looks serviceable.
- 49:24SPEAKER_03: And Bucky Irving put the whole team on his back.
- 49:26SPEAKER_04: Yeah, Bucky Ranger.
- 49:28SPEAKER_03: They call him big back buckets.
- 49:29SPEAKER_04: Jalen Warren is playing good for the Steelers, too.
- 49:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he's he had a few huge plays.
- 49:33SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 49:34SPEAKER_03: Um, Arizona Cardinals, uh Marzerati Marv, uh just got traded from there against the Rams.
- 49:41SPEAKER_04: This is the Rams.
- 49:42SPEAKER_04: The only thing that might keep it close is it's a divisional game, but they Cardinals.
- 49:48SPEAKER_04: Cardinals need to move.
- 49:49SPEAKER_04: I don't know why they are not playing Carson Beck at this point.
- 49:54SPEAKER_04: I was I saw a thing about Jacob Berset, too.
- 49:57SPEAKER_04: I think he's they broke down his record over the because they've played him for like two seasons.
- 50:03SPEAKER_03: I I know the I know what you're talking about.
- 50:04SPEAKER_03: It's like two and he's two and fifteen.
- 50:07SPEAKER_03: He's two and fifteen since they benched Kyler Murray for him.
- 50:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I don't get it.
- 50:12SPEAKER_03: He's two and fifteen.
- 50:13SPEAKER_03: He's had really good fantasy football stats.
- 50:15SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but they're two and two and fifteen.
- 50:18SPEAKER_04: It's like the Lions game.
- 50:19SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 50:19SPEAKER_04: He gets they got down huge and then he just throws the rest of the game.
- 50:23SPEAKER_03: They showed since since Kyler Murray got benched for him, they showed Kyler Murray's stats and his record versus Jacoby Brissett.
- 50:30SPEAKER_03: And obviously he's a 5-0 quarterback at the Minnesota Vikings.
- 50:34SPEAKER_03: He missed, yeah.
- 50:35SPEAKER_03: He missed a couple games.
- 50:36SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but they're 5-0.
- 50:37SPEAKER_03: And so they talked about how you have cursed your franchise based on what you've done.
- 50:42SPEAKER_04: I just don't know why they're not like you have Carson Beck right there.
- 50:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you've already played a few games of a season.
- 50:49SPEAKER_04: I would play Carson Beck and get him some experience.
- 50:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I think it'll happen after they're by.
- 50:54SPEAKER_03: But the problem is they have a week 14 by.
- 50:57SPEAKER_03: So they're gonna have to do it before then or else the season's gonna be.
- 51:00SPEAKER_03: I got the Rams as well.
- 51:02SPEAKER_03: I don't know if you remember last week on the pod, I said Matthew Safford would come down and lead a game-winning drive at the end of the game.
- 51:09SPEAKER_03: I I drew out the play.
- 51:10SPEAKER_03: He got the game winning drive to go down and tie it up, or the game tying drive to tie it up in overtime.
- 51:15SPEAKER_03: I mean, to go into overtime.
- 51:17SPEAKER_03: Then they get that fumble off James Cook.
- 51:19SPEAKER_03: He leads him into field goal range, get the field goal blocked.
- 51:23SPEAKER_04: That game was awesome to watch, but second half.
- 51:26SPEAKER_04: The first half was kind of boring.
- 51:28SPEAKER_04: The end of the game, though, I don't know what the Rams their kicker had already been bad this year.
- 51:34SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 51:34SPEAKER_04: And then they got to like the 40 or 35.
- 51:38SPEAKER_04: He kicked the 48.
- 51:39SPEAKER_04: And then they completely went conservative and ran three straight times.
- 51:42SPEAKER_04: I don't know what they were doing.
- 51:45SPEAKER_04: I would have tried to get I would have tried to score a touchdown at that point.
- 51:48SPEAKER_03: We talked about coach speak.
- 51:50SPEAKER_03: Did you see uh the coach at the podium when he was asked about the game?
- 51:57SPEAKER_04: McVeigh?
- 51:58SPEAKER_04: McVay.
- 51:58SPEAKER_04: I didn't see it.
- 51:59SPEAKER_03: I saw I saw the video, but I didn't click on it.
- 52:02SPEAKER_03: Okay, they asked him how he felt.
- 52:03SPEAKER_03: And you know, normally it's like, you know, hey, yeah, you were better.
- 52:05SPEAKER_03: He's like, the defense was good enough to win.
- 52:08SPEAKER_03: The offense was good enough to win.
- 52:09SPEAKER_03: This was good enough to win.
- 52:10SPEAKER_03: This was good to win.
- 52:11SPEAKER_03: The play calling was good enough to win.
- 52:12SPEAKER_03: Execution was good enough to win.
- 52:13SPEAKER_03: You know what wasn't good enough to win?
- 52:14SPEAKER_03: Special teams, our kicking unit.
- 52:17SPEAKER_03: He's like, we can't miss, we can't miss kicks.
- 52:19SPEAKER_03: We can't block, we can't miss blocks on kicks.
- 52:22SPEAKER_03: He's like, when you do everything right and you lose because of kicking, you have to re-evaluate everything.
- 52:26SPEAKER_03: And so they were like, Are you gonna reevaluate your kicker?
- 52:29SPEAKER_03: And he said, Everything is on the table.
- 52:30SPEAKER_03: The next morning, yeah, he got cut.
- 52:32SPEAKER_03: Got cut.
- 52:33SPEAKER_03: And so, but everybody said, Oh, we already know he's getting cut based on based on what happened after the game.
- 52:37SPEAKER_04: So Which everybody I saw a couple of people saying, why is he getting cut?
- 52:40SPEAKER_04: Because of a blocked field goal.
- 52:42SPEAKER_04: He also missed one earlier in the game.
- 52:44SPEAKER_04: He missed an extra point, didn't he?
- 52:45SPEAKER_04: He missed an extra point and a field goal.
- 52:47SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 52:47SPEAKER_04: But it's like he can't kick, he also like can't kick over.
- 52:50SPEAKER_04: I think his career long is 52, which the NFL kickers now are blasting 60 yarders with ease.
- 52:56SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 52:57SPEAKER_03: Uh let's rush through these uh just so we can get up out of here and and have everybody with a great rest of their day after listening to us here.
- 53:04SPEAKER_03: Uh Chargers at Chiefs.
- 53:05SPEAKER_03: I am taking the Chiefs all day.
- 53:07SPEAKER_03: Chiefs, 0-6 Chargers, wild times.
- 53:10SPEAKER_03: Uh Buffalo Bills at the Raiders.
- 53:12SPEAKER_03: Bills, easy.
- 53:13SPEAKER_03: Bills as well.
- 53:14SPEAKER_03: Josh Allen continues the MVP tour.
- 53:16SPEAKER_03: Uh, Cowboys at the Green Bay Packers.
- 53:18SPEAKER_03: This is another rest one, Cowboys.
- 53:20SPEAKER_03: All right, Green Bay Packers.
- 53:22SPEAKER_03: I'm taking them.
- 53:22SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna go against both the rest teams, apparently.
- 53:24SPEAKER_03: I'll probably go 0-2.
- 53:25SPEAKER_03: Uh, Washington Commanders at the 49ers.
- 53:28SPEAKER_03: 49ers.
- 53:29SPEAKER_03: 49ers.
- 53:29SPEAKER_03: They're gonna be 6-0.
- 53:30SPEAKER_03: They are looking like the absolute best team in the NFL.
- 53:33SPEAKER_03: Uh, they just gotta stay healthy.
- 53:34SPEAKER_03: They gotta stay healthy.
- 53:35SPEAKER_03: Mike Evans, bona fide number one.
- 53:38SPEAKER_03: It is crazy how bad the Buccaneers receivers look without Mike Evans, and it's crazy how good of a wide receiver Mike Evans looks.
- 53:46SPEAKER_03: So um, thank you guys for tuning in.
- 53:48SPEAKER_03: Zeke, you got any final takes, any final last things you want to kick us off with?
- 53:53SPEAKER_04: I just hope Michigan looks competent this weekend.
- 53:58SPEAKER_04: Detroit Lions are on a bye, so I don't get to watch them.
- 54:02SPEAKER_04: So if my only football is Michigan and they either lose to Penn State or just don't look anywhere decent, it's gonna be a frustrating weekend.
- 54:12SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 54:13SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna be trying to move on to college basketball very quickly.
- 54:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 54:17SPEAKER_03: Um, my final take, NFL or sorry, not the NFL.
- 54:21SPEAKER_03: We've been in the NFL for a while.
- 54:23SPEAKER_03: NBA season is right around the corner.
- 54:26SPEAKER_03: I think my Oklahoma City Thunder are going to start off this season and have an incredible record to start the year.
- 54:36SPEAKER_03: I think we're winning 30 games in a row to start the season.
- 54:40SPEAKER_03: I think we are too good from top to bottom.
- 54:44SPEAKER_03: I am so excited.
- 54:45SPEAKER_04: If they don't bail SGA out, they will lose a lot of games.
- 54:50SPEAKER_04: The foul merchant that he is.
- 54:51SPEAKER_03: This guy talks about foul merchant.
- 54:53SPEAKER_03: He's not a foul merchant.
- 54:54SPEAKER_03: He's just an incredible basketball player that everyone loves.
- 54:58SPEAKER_03: So, anyways, uh I'm so excited the NBA is gonna be back on soon.
- 55:02SPEAKER_03: Um, I plan on uh talking about some basketball for a little bit.
- 55:07SPEAKER_03: Um, and then shout out here at Providence Academy.
- 55:10SPEAKER_03: We just finished our uh girls' volleyball season.
- 55:13SPEAKER_03: Um our girls started off last year playing varsity with sixth and seventh graders, and we lost all of our games.
- 55:21SPEAKER_03: We were playing against eighth graders.
- 55:22SPEAKER_03: Uh this year we went five and nine, and so we're very proud of our varsity.
- 55:26SPEAKER_03: Uh, shout out to all the volleyball players and their families.
- 55:29SPEAKER_03: Our JV went nine and two.
- 55:31SPEAKER_03: JV was dominant.
- 55:33SPEAKER_03: My daughter played on it.
- 55:34SPEAKER_03: She enjoyed it, she had a great time.
- 55:36SPEAKER_03: Um, and so shout out to that.
- 55:37SPEAKER_03: Our our soccer team is gonna end their season next week, and then cross country, I believe, is ending in the next couple of weeks as well.
- 55:44SPEAKER_03: So it's been a great fall here with our sports, and uh over the next month or so, we're gonna get some athletes on.
- 55:49SPEAKER_03: You can talk to them, you can hear about their experiences, and it's gonna be awesome.
- 55:52SPEAKER_03: So um we appreciate you guys tuning in.
- 55:55SPEAKER_03: Thank you for that.
- 55:56SPEAKER_03: Make sure you uh follow that link, send us a voicemail or a text message to let us know that you want to be on the show, something that we can talk about, we can give you our takes.
- 56:05SPEAKER_03: We appreciate it.
- 56:06SPEAKER_03: We love most of you.
- 56:07SPEAKER_03: And uh Zeke wants to end us with here.
- 56:10SPEAKER_04: Last thing I'll say about college basketball.
- 56:12SPEAKER_04: I love college basketball.
- 56:14SPEAKER_04: Just so no one is confused when we start talking about college basketball.
- 56:18SPEAKER_04: I am a Michigan State basketball fan, Michigan football fan.
- 56:23SPEAKER_04: If you have a problem with it, I'm sorry.
- 56:26SPEAKER_04: That's how I've been since I was born, so it's not changing now, or else then I would be a flip-flopper.
- 56:34SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we don't like rode with it.
- 56:36SPEAKER_04: My dad messed me up because he liked both teams.
- 56:39SPEAKER_04: So I'm a Michigan State basketball fan.
- 56:40SPEAKER_04: So if you hear me start talking about Michigan State, it's because I'm a Michigan State basketball fan.
- 56:45SPEAKER_04: Everyone else in my family is Michigan fans.
- 56:48SPEAKER_04: I'm a Michigan State fan.
- 56:50SPEAKER_04: So don't get confused.
- 56:51SPEAKER_04: I am saying Michigan State.
- 56:53SPEAKER_04: And that's only basketball.
- 56:54SPEAKER_04: Only basketball.
- 56:55SPEAKER_04: Any other sports in Michigan, it's just very weird.
- 56:57SPEAKER_03: Tom Izzo is my guy.
- 56:58SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 56:59SPEAKER_03: All right, guys.
- 57:00SPEAKER_03: Well, we appreciate you tuning in.
- 57:01SPEAKER_03: And uh hope you guys have a great rest of your week.
- 57:03SPEAKER_03: Let's go, Eagles.
