- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30So let's talk about nourishing your dreams sounds kind of
- 0:35interesting when you think about it.
- 0:37Nourishing a dream. Well, it's a dream.
- 0:39So how can I nourish it? And the concept of this really
- 0:43comes from envisioning comes from having a big part of
- 0:48imagination take the take the driver's seat with it and really
- 0:52fueling what you want. Now here's there's a little
- 0:56trick here, because it is very hard for human beings in general
- 1:00to hold a consistent thought for a long period of time.
- 1:04And, and this is for myself is it's just as much for me as it
- 1:08is for everybody else. In fact, my imagination is so
- 1:12in, in, you know, just that crazy external mode, it goes off
- 1:17and all of a sudden I am down a rabbit hole in a completely
- 1:21different direction, not even remotely remembering where I
- 1:24started. So I have to really work hard at
- 1:27this. And nourishing a dream is about
- 1:32taking it to that full vision, which means you have to think it
- 1:35all the way through. So I'm going to use the farm as
- 1:38an example because it's the best way that I can tell you how I
- 1:42did it. I got very clear on the fact
- 1:45that this was what I wanted when I was young and I knew that that
- 1:48was my long term goal. And I used to think about it
- 1:51often, but I didn't nourish it. I would talk about it.
- 1:54Everyone that knew me knew I wanted chickens.
- 1:57My friend Alice used to laugh about it all the time.
- 1:59She's like, well, you know, when Kim gets 5 acres, she's going to
- 2:02get all of her chickens. She's going to have all of her
- 2:05animals. That's like her main goal.
- 2:06Like everyone knew it, but was I really nourishing it?
- 2:11And early on, as much as I wanted it and I really wanted
- 2:16it, I wasn't nourishing it daily.
- 2:18I wasn't saturating the ground so I could get it to sprout.
- 2:24I was doing work. I was living in the space of
- 2:29everyday life. And I would think about it.
- 2:31I would think about it probably every couple days, but I wasn't
- 2:35thinking about it every day. I wasn't sitting down and
- 2:38looking at it. So when we made the move from
- 2:41north to South and we knew our outcome was to really have this
- 2:46now, I was like, I have to do the work of nourishing this.
- 2:49I have to think about this often more than you know, here and
- 2:54there. I have to feed this.
- 2:56I have to put this into my imagination and let it grow.
- 3:00So that's exactly what I started to do.
- 3:02And no joke, every day I would pull out my what I wanted
- 3:08because I had written it all down.
- 3:09And I started with something just writing.
- 3:11That was it. I would read it.
- 3:13Then it got expansive to go into vision boards where I would take
- 3:17cut out pictures of other people's stuff that I loved.
- 3:20Glue it. I'm a glue paste, put it on a
- 3:23board, get myself, you know big boards and put it on there.
- 3:27I actually have multiple vision boards.
- 3:30If any of you have followed me for a long period of time, I
- 3:32usually keep multiple vision boards of all different things,
- 3:36but I started looking at those every single day.
- 3:39I had them in my office on the wall and then I started really
- 3:42seeking out where we would go and look at farms.
- 3:46We would go and look at houses, we would go out and see them.
- 3:50I would tour all different types of places here and constantly be
- 3:55thinking about it where it was like every day I was in the
- 3:59details of it. Then I went even further to say,
- 4:02OK, what would this look like? And I started designing it on
- 4:05paper. Even though I am not a architect
- 4:08or a draftsman by any stretch of the means.
- 4:11I did take some classes on it when I was in high school and I
- 4:14sat and I would start drawing it out on paper.
- 4:16I knew exactly how I wanted, I wanted a, you know, a dirt
- 4:20driveway coming up. I wanted it windy.
- 4:22I wanted a wrap around porch in the front.
- 4:25I knew I I like it things asymmetrical.
- 4:27So I wanted everything symmetrical.
- 4:29I just wanted everything to be in this space to be balanced.
- 4:32I knew we wanted to have a kitchen where my husband could
- 4:36really cook because he loves to do that.
- 4:38And I started taking those pictures and envisioning them
- 4:41not just as a distant observer, but being in it, like I was
- 4:46walking through it. And I really started pushing it.
- 4:50I was nourishing my dream. I was seeing myself in my dream.
- 4:55I was seeing myself with my chickens.
- 4:57I was seeing myself taking care of them, sitting with them,
- 5:00carrying them, giving them treats.
- 5:02I was living the dream in my head.
- 5:06And then guess what happened? Now it's here and it it
- 5:10honestly, it came about in such what I would say, did I work my
- 5:14butt off? Of course I worked my butt off
- 5:16because every dream requires work.
- 5:19However, the the things that came together and how it came
- 5:23together, such an amazing experience.
- 5:26But it all fell together because I was nourishing the dream.
- 5:29So ask yourself, what am I doing to nourish my dreams?
- 5:33No matter what, it is All right, my friends, I hope you have a
- 5:36blessed day and I will see you tomorrow.
- 5:38Bye.
