- 0:00Hello there, I'm Tyler Griffin and this is Scripture Study
- 0:04Insights by Scripture Central. Today second E5 chapters one and
- 0:10two. It's kind of fun to only have
- 0:12two chapters where we can dive deep and and explore more in
- 0:19depth before we begin with the scriptures.
- 0:23The the concept, the scripture study idea that I wanted to
- 0:27share today is this idea of are we just reading the scriptures
- 0:35to learn the history or to learn the stories of these people?
- 0:39Or does that become means to the end of coming to understand God
- 0:45better, to to discover attributes of the Savior Jesus
- 0:52Christ, better to be able to more fully connect with heaven
- 0:56in our own life? So what I wanted to to show is
- 1:01in in the lectures on faith in Kirtland at the School of the
- 1:06Prophets, Joseph Smith, Sidney Rigden, and other leaders of the
- 1:10Church would prepare those those early missionaries to go out and
- 1:14preach the gospel by going through the seven Lectures on
- 1:16Faith. A couple of those lectures talk
- 1:20about the characteristics, the perfections and the attributes
- 1:37of God. Now I always remember because of
- 1:41CPA, the characteristics, perfections and attributes of
- 1:45God. And the reality is, is if you
- 1:49read all of the lectures on faith, you will find that they
- 1:54they teach that there are three things that are necessary in
- 1:57order for you to have faith unto life and salvation. faith in
- 2:03God, unto life and salvation. The kind of faith that will
- 2:06actually propel you forward to becoming more like Christ.
- 2:10And the first thing is required, that you have a belief in God.
- 2:15The 2nd is that you have a knowledge of his
- 2:18characteristics, perfections, and attributes.
- 2:21And the third is that you have a knowledge that the course that
- 2:26you're pursuing in life is in accordance with God's will.
- 2:29So what we're going to focus on today is this middle requirement
- 2:35in order for me to have the kind of faith that will help me
- 2:39progress and actually become more like God, which is a
- 2:44correct idea of the characteristics, perfections,
- 2:47and attributes of God. And every time you open the
- 2:50Scriptures, you can look for the Savior on every single page,
- 2:56either through his names, his titles, or through the more
- 3:00abstract things, the symbols, the people who embody certain
- 3:05attributes of Christ, or the objects that become these object
- 3:12lessons in a metaphorical way to teach us more about His
- 3:16attributes and his personality traits.
- 3:19Because that's who we're trying to become.
- 3:20Like. So with those lenses, let's dive
- 3:24in to second Nephi chapter One, and watch how quickly this
- 3:30becomes apparent. So Nephi opens up this new book
- 3:35explaining that his father Lehi spake many things unto his
- 3:42children, his posterity, and he rehearsed unto them how great
- 3:46things the Lord had done for them in bringing them out of the
- 3:51land of Jerusalem. So as Father Lehi comes to the
- 3:56end of his life that this is, these are his final teachings to
- 4:01his children and to his posterity, you'll notice how how
- 4:05he shifts his focus away from just what his children are doing
- 4:09and what they're experiencing as a family.
- 4:12And he's putting a lot more focus on God and on these
- 4:16eternal aspects of our existence.
- 4:20So look at verse one. And now it came to pass that
- 4:23after I, Nephi, had made an end of teaching my brethren, our
- 4:26Father Lehigh also speak many things unto them and rehearsed
- 4:30unto them how great things the Lord had done for them in
- 4:34bringing them out of the land of Jerusalem.
- 4:37His focus is fixed on the Savior here and pointing out how how
- 4:44the Lord has preserved them. Now look at verse two.
- 4:47And he spake unto them concerning their rebellions upon
- 4:49the waters and the mercies of God in sparing their lives, that
- 4:53they were not swallowed up in the sea.
- 4:55So if you were marking these, these attributes or
- 4:58characteristics or perfections of God, you've got the stated
- 5:04principle right on the page, the mercies of God.
- 5:07But you also have the implied attributes of God.
- 5:11This idea that God is not an angry, vengeful being who's up
- 5:17in the the heavens waiting to strike us down with lightning
- 5:21bolts. Because if that's who he were,
- 5:24you look at the first part of verse two, their rebellions and
- 5:27their struggles. He should have destroyed them,
- 5:30but he didn't. He extended mercy to them.
- 5:32He preserved them. Look at verse 3.
- 5:35And he also speak unto them concerning the land of promise
- 5:37which they had obtained. How merciful the Lord hath been,
- 5:41had been in warning us that we should flee out of the land of
- 5:44Jerusalem. So His mercy to preserve in
- 5:47verse three His mercy to give this this new land of
- 5:51possessions, or to preserve them on the waters.
- 5:54You see all these different aspects of God's mercy, and His
- 5:58kindness, and His grace. And then you jump down to verse
- 6:025. But, said He, notwithstanding
- 6:04our afflictions, we have obtained a land of promise, a
- 6:07land which is choice above all other lands, a land which the
- 6:11Lord God hath covenanted with me, should be a land for the
- 6:16inheritance of my seed. So again, instead of just
- 6:19reading black words on a white page or words on a screen of a
- 6:23smart device, if we dive into those words and ask the question
- 6:30repeatedly, what can this teach me about what kind of being God
- 6:34is? Because that's who I want to
- 6:35grow up, spiritually speaking, to become more like, then your
- 6:40scripture study time no longer needs to be this side duty as a
- 6:45member of the church where you check a box and say, OK, now I
- 6:47don't need to feel guilty because I read my scriptures
- 6:49today. But it becomes this glorious
- 6:52quest of wow, I can't wait to open up my scriptures today to
- 6:58discover what I can about what kind of a being God is and what
- 7:03kind of a being I want to become more like.
- 7:05And the more you do this, the more you see his power, his
- 7:10knowledge, his grace, his ability to create, his
- 7:15willingness to work with and forgive and to to guide it.
- 7:20It it becomes more real and it's a it becomes a part of our quest
- 7:25on the covenant path. So it would be a fun exercise to
- 7:29now take the rest of chapter one in second ephah with marking
- 7:35pencil or or the the journaling in hand to look for and note as
- 7:43many attributes of God as you can find.
- 7:47I'll just very quickly jump through a couple of verses here
- 7:51as as more examples we've talked a lot about his mercy.
- 7:55Look at verse 8. Behold it is wisdom that this
- 7:58land should be kept as yet from the knowledge of other nations.
- 8:02So there's wisdom in God this He knows all things to preserve
- 8:09this land. If you look in verse 10, you're
- 8:12going to see the creation aspect of our God and all the things
- 8:18that He's created and his power and the means whereby he keeps
- 8:23things moving forward because of his infinite goodness.
- 8:28You know, these are things that it's it's one thing to know that
- 8:32God exists or to have a belief that God exists.
- 8:36It's another to have a correct idea of his attributes.
- 8:40One of my favorite quotes on this subject comes from CS Lewis
- 8:45where he says the following There have been men before who
- 8:48got so interested in proving the existence of God that they came
- 8:53to care nothing for God himself, as if the good Lord had nothing
- 8:59to do but to exist. I hope that as we we dive more
- 9:05into this study of the Book of Mormon this year that you find a
- 9:09lot more than just the names and the titles of God, but you find
- 9:14why He exists and how He exists and how he feels about us, who
- 9:22he really is. His identity is your future
- 9:25capacity if you're on this quest to become like him on the
- 9:30covenant path. So as you read these these
- 9:33scriptures, that's one way to to get more out of your scripture
- 9:39study. One other thing I wanted to
- 9:43point out from chapter one is his beautiful allusions not just
- 9:49to God's attributes, but to our attributes and to our state of
- 9:55being as fallen creatures in a fallen world.
- 10:01Look at verse 13, for instance. He says, O, that ye would awake
- 10:06awake from a deep sleep, even from the sleep of hell, and
- 10:10shake off the awful chains by which you're bound.
- 10:13Then he goes down to verse 14, skipping ahead, awake and arise
- 10:17from the dust. And then you see later on he's
- 10:21going to say in verse 21 again, Arise from the dust, my sons and
- 10:26be men. If you if you've noticed there's
- 10:30this beautiful metaphorical illusion back to our first
- 10:35parents Adam when he was first created out of the dust.
- 10:41It's this idea of creation forms you out of the dust.
- 10:44And and he's saying awake, arise from the dust, be more than just
- 10:50a natural created creature in a fallen world, take life, which
- 10:56now is going to set the stage for Chapter 2 when he's talking
- 10:59specifically to Jacob, his young son about agency and
- 11:04accountability and the redemption.
- 11:07So what you will see in these two chapters, another lens you
- 11:10can put on is our journey through Heavenly Father's plan
- 11:15for our happiness, which always begins with creation.
- 11:19Then there's a fall and then there's the redemptive part, the
- 11:24atonement. And it's it's scattered
- 11:27throughout these two chapters. In other words, we're going to
- 11:31be far less likely to want to turn to the Savior and rely on
- 11:36him if we don't feel the need, if we're, if we don't recognize
- 11:43that we're sick, we won't seek out the physician.
- 11:46These chapters help us recognize our fallen nature and our
- 11:52characteristics, perfections, or lack thereof, and our
- 11:56attributes. The the separate us from God and
- 12:00help us rely more fully on the Savior Jesus Christ to help us
- 12:06to grow up, to become more like Him and take on more of his
- 12:11attributes. And so we'll finish chapter one
- 12:15in verse 23, he says. Awake my sons, put on the armor
- 12:22of righteousness, shake off the chains with which you are bound,
- 12:27and come forth out of obscurity and arise from the dust.
- 12:32That's one of the most powerful nutshell descriptions of our
- 12:36fallen state that I know of and of our complete need for and
- 12:41dependence on Jesus Christ to help us overcome this fallen
- 12:46nature that we've inherited and in some cases magnified by by
- 12:51the choices we've made. So after speaking to Laman,
- 12:56Lemuel, Sam, his, his other grandchildren, and Zoram, then
- 13:02you get into Chapter 2 with his final words to Jacob.
- 13:08And again you can look for the attributes of Christ in the the
- 13:14symbols. And sometimes you don't have to
- 13:17look very hard because it's just obvious.
- 13:19And we're going to see it throughout Chapter 2, because
- 13:23here he's going to be teaching this incredible topic, this even
- 13:30doctrine of agency. But it doesn't come.
- 13:34Agency doesn't come alone. Agency always comes with its
- 13:41partner, accountability. Now we live in a world that
- 13:49wants to to teach agency in the form of personal freedom.
- 13:57But the world we live in, our society, our culture, doesn't
- 14:00want to teach accountability. And so it's fascinating to read
- 14:05Chapter 2 through the lenses of both companion doctrines being
- 14:11necessary. Now this is important for us to
- 14:14to contemplate for a minute, because if we're not careful,
- 14:17what we end up doing is we we think that God is up in heaven
- 14:22looking down at the earth and feeling upset because people are
- 14:26having fun. And so he has to create rules or
- 14:29commandments or laws to prevent people from having a good time
- 14:33or from from enjoying life. And that's a very false notion
- 14:40of God. Our Heavenly Father is not
- 14:44trying to prevent us from having fun.
- 14:46He's trying to help us find lasting, enduring joy and
- 14:52enduring relationships. And because we are fallen by
- 14:58nature of what we've inherited from Adam and Eve, and because
- 15:01we live in a fallen world, there are going to be all kinds of
- 15:05things that certain parts of us would like to do.
- 15:10But if we do those things, it would lead us further away from
- 15:15joy because it's masked in this temporary pleasure.
- 15:19Or what what the world would would portray as living in in
- 15:24happiness and total freedom, which ultimately leads to chains
- 15:29and bondage and bringing us down further into the dust, turning
- 15:35us more into the OR focusing more rather on the natural
- 15:41aspects of our existence rather than the eternal aspects of our
- 15:45existence. That's why I love the statement
- 15:48from President Russell and Nelson from his talk Think
- 15:51Celestial. This is so profound when he says
- 15:56the very things that will make your mortal life the best it can
- 16:01be are exactly the same things that will make your life
- 16:05throughout all eternity the best it can be.
- 16:10So God isn't up in heaven saying how can I prevent them from
- 16:14having fun? God is up in heaven saying, oh,
- 16:18how can I prevent them from falling into misery and
- 16:22destruction and and death that that lasts forever.
- 16:28And so he gives us these commandments, He gives us our
- 16:33agency and we have accountability to how we use
- 16:38that agency. And now let's watch how this
- 16:40plays out on the page. So jump in second Ephah, chapter
- 16:452, verse one. And now, Jacob, I speak unto
- 16:49you. Thou art my first, born in the
- 16:52days of my tribulation in the wilderness.
- 16:55And behold, in thy childhood thou has suffered afflictions
- 16:58and much sorrow because of the rudeness of thy brethren.
- 17:01Lehigh is acknowledging Jacob, you were born in the wilderness
- 17:05of my affliction. You've had a very rough start.
- 17:08But then the next word he uses is nevertheless to put greater
- 17:12emphasis on what comes after the word.
- 17:15Nevertheless, nevertheless, Jacob, my first born in the
- 17:18wilderness, thou knowest the greatness of God.
- 17:23I think Lehigh is passing on this, this not just prophetic
- 17:28wisdom, but his parental wisdom to his young son, because Lehigh
- 17:32has experienced some intense opposition and struggles in his
- 17:36life, and it's through those difficult passages of his life
- 17:40or parts of his life that he has come to know more fully the
- 17:44greatness of God. And then he says he will
- 17:47consecrate thine afflictions for thy gain.
- 17:50So again, brothers and sisters, this is not just a story about
- 17:53Lehigh on his deathbed talking to his young son.
- 17:56This becomes a handbook for us in the latter days in the 21st
- 18:01century, to see more clearly some of these attributes,
- 18:05characteristics and perfections of God, of how he treats people
- 18:09back then and how he treats people today.
- 18:12That God is capable of taking those very difficult periods of
- 18:18your life and some of your passing through some of those
- 18:20right now. But if you turn to God instead
- 18:24of turn your back on him, repenting as President Nelson
- 18:28has has clearly taught, Metanoio is to turn to God.
- 18:32It's to change the way we think, the way we see God, the way we
- 18:36see life, the way we see each other.
- 18:38We change our life, and we focus more on him.
- 18:43And all of a sudden he can now consecrate our afflictions for
- 18:47our gain. So it becomes an applicable
- 18:49principle in our day, not just for for young Jacob, 2600 years
- 18:54ago. And then he goes on to say,
- 18:56Wherefore thy soul shall be blessed, and thou shalt dwell
- 18:58safely with thy brother Nephi, and thy days shall be spent in
- 19:02the service of thy God. And now my favorite part.
- 19:05Wherefore this cause and effect Word?
- 19:09Because of all of these things that have come in verse 1-2 in
- 19:13the first half of verse 3 the outcome is Wherefore I know that
- 19:18thou art redeemed because of the righteousness of thy Redeemer.
- 19:25You'll notice it wasn't because of the righteousness of your
- 19:27choices or because you're such a good kid, Jacob.
- 19:32You're going to be redeemed because of Jesus Christ.
- 19:36That is one of the central messages of not just the gospel
- 19:40in the Book of Mormon, but but of everything we hear from the
- 19:43prophets. It's to try to connect us with
- 19:45Jesus Christ because that is the only source of eternal joy and
- 19:51eternal salvation, Heavenly Father's great plan of
- 19:55happiness. It's not to prevent us from
- 19:57having fun. His whole plan is centered
- 20:00around connecting us with Jesus Christ so we can.
- 20:04Use the attributes of his perfect atonement for us in
- 20:10order to grow and develop, and to become more like him and more
- 20:15like God, because that's ultimate happiness.
- 20:20And then watch for God's attributes in verse 4.
- 20:23And thou has beheld in thy youth His glory.
- 20:26Wherefore thou art blessed, even as they unto whom he shall
- 20:29minister in the flesh. For the Spirit is the same
- 20:32yesterday, today, and forever, and the way is prepared from the
- 20:37fall of man and salvation is free.
- 20:41Some of God's attributes are stated on the page, and some of
- 20:44them are implied. They're they're not written out,
- 20:48but they're there. That the implication is there
- 20:51and salvation is free is loaded with implied principles and and
- 20:58attributes of God. Which now brings us into his
- 21:01discussion of our agency, followed by our accountability.
- 21:07Look at verse five. Men are instructed sufficiently
- 21:11that they know good from evil. So in other words, before I can
- 21:16really have agency, I need to be able to know good from evil.
- 21:22Without a knowledge of what's right or wrong, I don't really
- 21:24have freedom of choice that would help lead me to becoming
- 21:30more like God. I would.
- 21:33I would be free to choose. But it wouldn't be ultimate
- 21:36agency if I don't know. That's why.
- 21:40If you want more freedom, if you want more liberty, if you want
- 21:45more agency and to become more like God, study more, learn more
- 21:51from heavenly sources and from divine places.
- 21:57As many truths as you can. Elder D Todd Christopherson said
- 22:01something along the lines of If you want more freedom, more
- 22:05agency, learn as many of God's laws as you can and keep them.
- 22:10That's how to get more freedom. So men are instructed
- 22:14sufficiently that they know good from evil, and the law is given
- 22:21notice. The law is given unto men, and
- 22:25by the law no flesh is justified.
- 22:27God gave the law not to prevent us from having fun, but to help
- 22:32set up those those guideposts for us, to keep us on the
- 22:37straight and narrow path, to keep progressing, to become more
- 22:40like Him. The law doesn't save the the law
- 22:46doesn't give you rewards for keeping it.
- 22:49The law punishes when you break it.
- 22:52And he tells us that the by the law no flesh is justified, or by
- 22:59the law men are cut off. The law is only focused on
- 23:03justice. Speaking of Adam and Eve, yeah,
- 23:05by the temporal law they were cut off, and also by the
- 23:09spiritual law they perish from that which is good and become
- 23:12miserable forever. Now can you see our state of
- 23:17being, our conditions? Can you see how desperately we
- 23:21need a savior? Because we can't rely on our own
- 23:24keeping of the law, because the law is only going to cut us off.
- 23:27So verse 6 Wherefore redemption cometh in and through the holy
- 23:34Messiah, for he is full of grace and truth, more attributes of
- 23:41God. I want to be more like him,
- 23:45which means when faced with opportunities today or this week
- 23:49or this month, where I might be able to bend the rules, I might
- 23:53be able to tell a white lie. I might be able to get away with
- 23:56something. I I might be able to lie, cheat
- 23:58or steal. It's an opportunity to pause and
- 24:02say, wait a minute, do I want to become more like the devil who
- 24:06is a being who takes things that don't belong to him?
- 24:10Who deceives people? Who gets them to believe things
- 24:14that aren't true? Or do I want to become more like
- 24:16God, so he's a God of who is full of grace and truth?
- 24:21And at that point, because of what I've learned in my
- 24:24scripture study and what I feel from the Holy Ghost, it can
- 24:28actually give me power in those moments of temptation or moments
- 24:32where I might feel weak to call upon the name of Jesus Christ to
- 24:36say help me, I want to be more like thee and less like the
- 24:40devil and less like these natural tendencies that I feel
- 24:45inside of me. Help me to become more like the
- 24:49a being of more truth than in the past.
- 24:54So you're seeing how then scripture study translates into
- 24:58this, this world that we're trying to create above the
- 25:02scripture page, where I can actually see more clearly the
- 25:07target, Jesus Christ, who I'm trying to become like.
- 25:10So redemption doesn't come from the law, it doesn't come from
- 25:14me. Jacob, you're redeemed because
- 25:17of the righteousness of your Redeemer, so I need to connect
- 25:19more with him. Verse 7.
- 25:22Behold, he offers himself a sacrifice for sin to answer the
- 25:28ends of the law. So the Lawgiver comes down
- 25:32perfectly, keeps the law, answers all the ends of the law,
- 25:35and then his reward is he gets punished for and in behalf of
- 25:40me, for all the times that I broke the law, that he perfectly
- 25:44gave and kept and preserved. He now gets judged according to
- 25:50my deeds and my words. And he is found guilty, and he's
- 25:57punished to the full extent of the Law.
- 25:59To help me better discover who I am and who I can become through
- 26:04His truth, and grace, and goodness and knowledge.
- 26:10I love verse 8. Wherefore, how great the
- 26:14importance to make these things known unto the inhabitants of
- 26:17the earth, that they may know that there is no flesh that can
- 26:21dwell in the presence of God, save it be through what?
- 26:25Now look at these attributes, the merits and mercy and grace
- 26:31of the holy Messiah, who layeth down His life according to the
- 26:34flesh, and taketh it again by the power of the Spirit that he
- 26:38may bring to pass the resurrection of the dead being
- 26:41the 1st that should rise. I love this.
- 26:44And then he goes on to talk about the intercession and how
- 26:49all men have to come to him in order to get to God.
- 26:54And then look at verse 11. For it must needs be that there
- 26:57is an opposition in all things. And then he expands on that
- 27:07There has to be an opposition in all things.
- 27:10If not so my first born in the wilderness righteousness could
- 27:14not be brought to pass. If there weren't a choice to be
- 27:18made, you wouldn't really have agency.
- 27:20There has to be an opposition for you to have this true test
- 27:26of mortality that the the Lord has set up for us.
- 27:30So then you turn the page over. You get to verse 13 and he gives
- 27:35you this long list of things that are reliant on other
- 27:40things. He says, if you shall say
- 27:41there's no law, you shall say there's no sin.
- 27:44If you say there's no sin, you'll say there's no
- 27:45righteousness. And then he goes all the way
- 27:47down this list telling us about the difference between things to
- 27:50act and things to be acted upon. And brothers and sisters, we are
- 27:54not objects that were sent here to this earth just to be acted
- 27:59upon. I get that sometimes.
- 28:02That's what happens. But the reason we're here is to
- 28:06act, to use our agency to learn as much as we can, to discover
- 28:12the laws of God, to face the opposition.
- 28:15Oh, and by the way, there's a qualifier for that opposition.
- 28:18In verse 16 it says, Wherefore the Lord God gave unto man that
- 28:21he should act for himself. Wherefore man could not act for
- 28:26himself, save it should be that he was enticed by the one or the
- 28:32other. So the opposition has to
- 28:35actually be enticing for it to be a true test of our character.
- 28:40And then he shifts into the rest of this chapter, talking about
- 28:46the fall of Adam and Eve and the opposition that existed in the
- 28:52in the Garden of Eden. If you look at verse 15 you get
- 28:56the forbidden fruit and the tree of life.
- 28:59They were planted together in the midst of the the garden.
- 29:05Then you get the description here in verse 25.
- 29:11Adam fell that men might be and men are, that they might have
- 29:15joy, and the Messiah cometh in the fullness of time, that he
- 29:19may redeem the children of men from the fall.
- 29:24I love this. He doesn't say.
- 29:26And the Messiah shall come in the fullness of times that that
- 29:31he may condemn those who can't perfectly keep the gospel and
- 29:37perfectly be a husband or a wife, or a mother, a father, a
- 29:40brother, a sister, or fill in the blank with whatever
- 29:42relationship you want. God so loved the world that He
- 29:47sent His only begotten Son into the world.
- 29:52He He sent His Son to save us. He didn't send His Son to
- 29:56condemn us. So now you'll notice it says
- 30:00because they are redeemed from the fall, they have become free
- 30:05forever. Free in God's context of our
- 30:12agency. We're free forever knowing good
- 30:15from evil to act for themselves and not to be acted upon, save
- 30:19it be by the punishment of the law at the great and last day.
- 30:24So we can either choose to keep the law, or we can choose to be
- 30:28punished by the law that God has given, because accountability
- 30:33and those consequences can't be removed.
- 30:36Verse 27 Wherefore men are free according to the flesh, and all
- 30:42things are given them which are expedient unto man, and they are
- 30:46free to choose liberty and eternal life through the great
- 30:49mediator of all men. If we choose to think celestial,
- 30:55as President Nelson has said, or to choose captivity and death
- 30:59according to the captivity and power of the devil, for he
- 31:02seeketh that all men might be miserable like unto himself.
- 31:08So to finish this off, when you put on the lenses of looking for
- 31:12God's characteristics, perfections, and attributes, and
- 31:16looking for our own state, our own characteristics, lack of
- 31:20perfections and our own attributes, and the the the
- 31:24absolute need that we have for the Savior to help us, then as
- 31:29we pray to God to help us rely more upon the merits, the mercy,
- 31:37and the grace of the Holy Messiah, He will answer those
- 31:41prayers. I don't know how, I don't know
- 31:44when, and I don't know what it will look like for you.
- 31:46But I know He will answer those prayers.
- 31:50And He will extend His mercy and His grace and His goodness to us
- 31:55as we continually seek Him. And to know what He would have
- 32:00us do. And to see Him as a loving
- 32:03Father in heaven rather than an angry deity who's looking at us
- 32:09with with furrowed brow and folded arms.
- 32:11Because we're not perfect, but we can turn to the Savior,
- 32:16trusting that we will find a God of mercy and a God of grace.
- 32:21That's my prayer for me, my family and loved ones, and for
- 32:26all of us collectively as we try to move forward on the covenant
- 32:30path together. And I leave that with you in the
- 32:33name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
- 32:36Know that you're loved. As you find learning paths in
- 32:39the Gospel Explorer this week, you can take the Left Path to
- 32:42immerse yourself in a study of prospering in the land through
- 32:45keeping the commandments of God. Obedience truly brings
- 32:49blessings. The middle pathway focuses on
- 32:51the concept of being redeemed by the righteousness of our
