- 0:01I get there one day and that was like full blown production crew there,
- 0:05like ready to record content. Yeah, and they're telling everybody may Weather's going
- 0:11to show up. And they had all the trainers there, all of them.
- 0:14And I was cool with a bunch of trainers. They're like, we
- 0:17don't think he's coming, Like I think they just told us that just to
- 0:20show up, dude. They were recorded ten hours. He never showed up,
- 0:25never showed up, and everybody they had all the trainers. And there's
- 0:29one trainer that they had who did who was in his corner for a while.
- 0:32Yeah, because you were a Spring Valley Yeah right, he had so
- 0:36they they were in. They didn't run those classes like they didn't run the
- 0:40full concept of the classroom. Yeah they Yeah, everybody get in the circle.
- 0:47I like that, but not every single time, right right, right
- 0:50right. It wasn't well managed as it is here. It's different for sure.
- 0:54Ye. The wrestlers, BRORA take wrestlers, wrestlers favorite wrestler, Like
- 1:00when you think of wrestler, who you think of? Heartbreak Kid? Heartbreak
- 1:04Kid? What about you Kevin Undertaker, that's a good one too, What
- 1:10about you Quincy Stone cold Stone Cold Man? That might be I'm like stone
- 1:17Colder Rock, like that's my first thing. But let me tell you this,
- 1:19before stone Colder Rock existed, Before that, my guy was Stinging Bro.
- 1:25Yeah, I was about That's crazy. It was Stinging gold Bird.
- 1:27My dog. Sting never wrestled dog. He just hung out in the bleachers
- 1:30with a bird. You gotta give it to I don't know that man,
- 1:36what's different, But that's what I mean. It's like I feel like the
- 1:40stone Cold in the rock era was like the new generation. So of course
- 1:46that became They became my favorite. So when I say heartbreak kid, it
- 1:49was before anybody else like that existed. There was no stone Cold, there
- 1:53was a rock. Yeah. Yeah, fact Now, he definitely was like
- 1:56Sean Michaels was was like an inspiration. He was pretty much the whole catalyst
- 2:00of the attitude that we like. It was really him. He's the one
- 2:04that led that whole charge. He changed wrestling. Really when you really think
- 2:07about it. Facts and I will tell you one that slept on Bro is
- 2:10macho man, Randy Savage boy. That nobody he was exactly. That's like,
- 2:17that was the thing about him, Bro. It's like his character.
- 2:21Bro, you can't I don't think nobody can compete with that. When it
- 2:23comes to the character Hogan. Hogan, he had his own brand. Like
- 2:28wrestling, you gotta if you got somebody that can. If you have a
- 2:31brand and somebody can follow you even outside, you're done, when you're doing
- 2:35your career, you just he pays away because he had, like the movies,
- 2:39the transition where he still played the whole character in movies like The Rock
- 2:45would eventually do. Bro, it's twenty twenty four, you still have the
- 2:47whole Holgana. He's still eating off that persona. Bro. He's still selling
- 2:52T shirts. He got two restaurants in clear Water. I think that they
- 2:55be packed and people go to like this memorabilia shop he got on the beach,
- 2:59like he's still look. Have you ever seen the Dark Side of Wrestling
- 3:02specials? I've seen one of them, but I don't really watch all of
- 3:06them. That's to check those out, man. They're on YouTube. It's
- 3:09it's a vice network that doesn't and they have a story about like Macho Man
- 3:15and the Queen Elizabeth Oh yeah yeah, and like their relationshipeah. The Dark
- 3:20Side of the Ring. It's all the dark stories and wrestling. Yeah,
- 3:23and like how everybody who really influenced wrestling and the ship they had to go
- 3:27through behind the scenes right now. Yeah, nowadays it's a show, But
- 3:30that Monk was really like I've seen some of those shows, bro, I'm
- 3:34talking about like they had they like the cuts were real. Yeah, yeah,
- 3:38yeah right they all. Right, Man, let's let's get the show
- 3:43starting. Let's go. Damn we in the eighties. Yo, welcome back
- 3:52Grounded Show Episode eighty one, right, episode eighty one. Man, we're
- 3:55on the road to the one hundred. Joe planting the seeds for the for
- 4:00the theme for the one hundred. Let's see if that happens. I got
- 4:05to hear about that one. But yeah, man, we were just talking
- 4:09a little bit of wrestling with Kevin. Go ahead and introduce yourself to the
- 4:13people. We've been wanting to have you on for a little while. Actually,
- 4:15absolutely, man, God, bless y'all, Thank y'all for having me.
- 4:17Joe the fam, Kevin is man, truly blessed to be here.
- 4:24Yeah, pro boxer, own Mayweather Boston and Fitness and Oviedo and head coach
- 4:31out there. Man, love what we do, fire man, fire But
- 4:36yeah, man, before we officially started, we were talking about a little
- 4:40bit of wrestling, and one of the topics that we had wanted to get
- 4:43into last week that it was just too good to pass up, especially with
- 4:47like further developments of it, because you know, last week they announced that
- 4:53The Rock was on the board that WWE. You know, part of the
- 4:57perks of him becoming a board member is he had full They gave him full
- 5:00rights to his name. So now the Rock all the likeness, everything that
- 5:03has to do with The Rock any sense, masters he got his master,
- 5:10he's on the board and got his master's crazy bro And they announced the five
- 5:15billion dollar Netflix deal WWE. It's moving to Netflix beginning of twenty twenty five,
- 5:20So that's like the crazy does that mean? Though? What does that
- 5:24mean? They're taking wrestling, well, not wrestling but Raw. It's actually
- 5:28Monday Night Raw is no longer going to be on cable. It's going to
- 5:32stream live on Netflix on Mondays. So Netflix is trying to make that move
- 5:39into like the live streaming content and it was like their first big move.
- 5:45So imagine the dynamic of the show. For sure, it changes the dynamic
- 5:47of the show and it changes the availability of wrestling. Bro a lot of
- 5:50people don't watch wrestling because they don't buy cable no more. You know what
- 5:55I'm saying. My kids don't know nothing about cable. They don't want to
- 5:58hear about, you know, waiting for something to come on on the TV.
- 6:00You know what I'm saying. So now it's gonna be on Netflix,
- 6:03available on Netflix, bro, you know, we might see that boom,
- 6:08Like how when it was in the nineties when we was young and wrestling was
- 6:11going crazy, that might come back just because it's gonna be available to so
- 6:15many people. Again, That's exactly, That's exactly what I read. It's
- 6:19like, what the main change is that today as wrestling is today, it's
- 6:26not like a football game where they can push the cut time for the ads
- 6:30because they got to satisfy ads. So with a sport like wrestling, which
- 6:34is depicted and drawn out specifically, they know where the cut times are,
- 6:41so sometimes they have to just speed things up and just cut scenes and cut
- 6:45just to make the ad time. So they're like, now if they start
- 6:48a match ten minutes before the time it's supposed to be over, it doesn't
- 6:50matter. They can let that match run for the full sixty minutes. That
- 6:55it's allotted, Like they no longer have to adhere to that to get the
- 7:00money for the ads because there are Netflix now, So now it's like that
- 7:03crew and now they can curse. M about that. I don't even think
- 7:09about you know what I'm saying. Now they can curse and playing around.
- 7:13Got to deal with the centers anymore. That is a whole new generation of
- 7:17wrestling that's gonna come about, for sure. Yeah, that's crazy. I
- 7:20didn't even think about it from that point of view. That's even just a
- 7:24wild thing to think about. Like they're moving all Like wrestling is basically known
- 7:29for that Monday night Live show on TV, you know what I'm saying,
- 7:31and them to just completely go away from that model, bro, Like it
- 7:35just shows you, like how much the times are changing, you know.
- 7:38But they did it to football too, Yep, yep, they got them
- 7:41prime games now, I mean they eventually listen, it's not gonna be capable
- 7:46anymore. Yeah, it's funny, man, I heard everybody gets that.
- 7:49Everybody's gonna you know, I heard Peter Rosenberg talk about it, and it's
- 7:54kind of like the same thing that like the same idea I thought about was,
- 7:57like it's so funny how everything's broken up to all these different packages and
- 8:01different things, and it's like just turning right back into a cable package.
- 8:05Facts, in a couple of years, it's going to be the same thing
- 8:09that it was before. You know what I'm saying that they're already starting to
- 8:13join up. They're already starting to put streaming stuff on Netflix. Like eventually
- 8:16Netflix is just going to be basically cable bro Bru exactly Bro. I was
- 8:20actually talking to my fiance about that the other day. I was like kind
- 8:24of starting to compare, and I was like, dangn man, like we
- 8:26actually get to a point where we might as well get cable, you know
- 8:30what I'm saying, because we got Disney plus Paramount conversation. I was like,
- 8:35man, we might need to sit down and talk about Yeah, yeah,
- 8:39you might be onto something because you know how the cable usually you can
- 8:43log into those other apps through your cable provider. Exactly, you feel what
- 8:48I'm saying, So like, who knows if you just get you know,
- 8:52cable for sixty a month or something, and you could just get everything on
- 8:54top of it and exactly, yeah, don't get a twisted though. Some
- 8:58of them app's gonna charge you a little bit just to just to get on
- 9:01your cable. Yeah, that's true. You still gotta be just just give
- 9:07me doing that. And I guess, come on it, wife. He
- 9:11loves like Loving hip Hop and all those shows. And I try to log
- 9:16on the v H one Plus because I didn't even know there was a VH
- 9:18one plus, and they're like loging with your cable provider. I said,
- 9:22with all the app subscriptions I have, I can't watch Loving hip Hop?
- 9:26This is crazy. Oh yeah, that's just get cable. Yeah. If
- 9:33you saw Basketball wise, oh yeah, the Orlando one. Did you know
- 9:37there's a basketball wife or they went to the studio. That's the studio they
- 9:43went to. Oh that's great. Just like you said, I'm talking about
- 9:52I get I get a call right a uh X amount X wants to These
- 9:58ladies want to try it. They want to do a personal training session,
- 10:01signing up, let's work. Little did I know that I was gonna walk
- 10:05into people. You didn't until you walk The people were covering, right,
- 10:11that's not and people were you know what I'm saying, Like you said,
- 10:13the whole broadcast going down, you're talking about it. I thought I'm thinking
- 10:16I'm doing a thirty minute personal training session, fellas, I'm in there for
- 10:20four hours. Yeah, because that's the longest days they want to Yeah,
- 10:24they got to the shots the longest. Whether it's an hour, that's crazy.
- 10:28For four hours. Yes, they were definitely trying together, right,
- 10:33Yeah. And that's what it is. It's like everything has something so unique
- 10:39to it that it forces you to either get cable to have access to everything,
- 10:43or you gotta subscribe to everything after after watching if you want to watch
- 10:46everything, if you want to. But I think that's why they do it
- 10:48that way, exactly exactly. If you I know, I don't know about
- 10:52Chube, but whether I had top or not, I was going to watch
- 10:54some football. You know. I was gonna find a way. I was
- 10:58gonna find a way. Hey, look I'm leaving him with so well,
- 11:01I got to do left fire stick, so I'm good, you know what
- 11:03I'm saying. That's why I got that. But I was one who used
- 11:07to pay for the Sunday ticket. I used to pay almost four hundred dollars
- 11:13a month for that. I couldn't believe it paid twenty dollars a month for
- 11:16those six months of football crazy, right, never again? Yeah, man,
- 11:22But yeah, just speaking about like wrestling, it's like it's wild,
- 11:26man, like the growth and how things are changing. But it's also crazy
- 11:31because after all that good news came out, a lawsuit came out for Vince
- 11:35McMahon. I don't know if y'all heard about that. Basically, Vince McMahon,
- 11:39he's not the He didn't start the ww His father did, but he
- 11:43bought it from his father and turned it into the national world wide powerhouse that
- 11:48it is. You know, his dad was running. It's set up the
- 11:52grassroots for yea. His dad established the territory in New York. Like he
- 11:56set up like the whole Northeast as far as wrestle goals. So he had
- 12:01the Madison Square Garden on Lock. You know, he had all those New
- 12:05York venues on Lock. So obviously he was set up in a great place
- 12:09and they just started the expansion from there. And obviously now that we know
- 12:13what we know about business and marketing, man, he did his thing.
- 12:18No, bro, that expansion, that expansion is crazy. Bro. He
- 12:22bought that company for a million dollars from his dad and I think they sold
- 12:28for five five billion. Bro. Yeah, like that's crazy. You know,
- 12:31one thing that takes for granted to And like I said, we're gonna
- 12:35talk about the shittiness of Vincent man, but the come up was crazy,
- 12:39Like I see all the content of all those like he had like a stand
- 12:43up standing up, like a late night show stand up scene where he had
- 12:48rests, come out, play instruments, do interviews on couches you see.
- 12:52Like like I didn't know he was so deep in that content creation. Yeah,
- 12:56they did, like a variety show. Like yo, I never knew
- 13:01he went that hard at it, and that would makes sense why you reach
- 13:05the levels it did. Yeah, it's just wild to think about that vision.
- 13:11Yeah, him just being able to even see that through like from where
- 13:13it started to where it ended up, you know what I mean, And
- 13:16just like it's crazy. Bro. Wrestling is like one of those things that
- 13:20to me is so wild and interesting because they're really creating something out or nothing.
- 13:26Because it's like UFC, it's legit, so you know, it kind
- 13:30of sells itself when you have great fighters boxing same thing. It's legit,
- 13:33so it sells itself you have great fighters. But in wrestling, it's like,
- 13:37bro, we all know it's fake. They still keep selling it those
- 13:41and they still keep selling it. They still keep having us watching, like
- 13:43think about who's gonna win or lose, knowing that you know, it's not
- 13:46even legit who wins or loses. You know what I'm saying. It's like
- 13:50they're literally is always sold out facts, yo. And it's not like they
- 13:54hit in little theaters or something. They in arenas every Monday, bro every
- 14:00Monday, thousand seats, eighteen thousand seats, twenty thousand seats every Monday and
- 14:05Friday, two days a week. They selling out arenas every week. And
- 14:07remember there was there was just one last Sunday game. Yeah, it just
- 14:13passed. They had one, exemple, it just passed last Sunday, last
- 14:18day. Somebody like you know what I'm saying, Like they really and they
- 14:20they planned that market well because you know that the Monday night raw, after
- 14:24any Sunday night pay per view, especially World Rumble, is one of the
- 14:28biggest Monday night raws ever. And now those Monday night raws are going to
- 14:33be on Netflix because literally every pay per view that they do it on Sundays
- 14:37right and Saturday, but they still do them on the weekend. Yeah no,
- 14:41but they do Saturday WrestleMania, but they also now they have two nights
- 14:46of wrestling, so it always ends on Sunday because the addition is whatever happened
- 14:50that Sunday on a pay per view is in again unwrapped that Monday night on
- 14:54Raw. And like that commentators and Coats too, they know how to speak
- 14:58business. It was like he was a mastermind. You can't take that away
- 15:03from him. So I have a question for y'all who won in that deal?
- 15:07Netflix or TKO. That's a good one. That's a good question.
- 15:11It really depends on, like because like the way they're kind of explaining it
- 15:18is like Netflix is trying to really take that plunge into the live space,
- 15:22you know, seeing what Amazon Prime is doing, what Hulu's doing, Like
- 15:24they're kind of like trying to like catch up, and this is like one
- 15:28of the big steps towards it, for sure. And you know, I
- 15:31think that the deal is a ten year deal that's five billion dollars. So
- 15:37I think for Netflix it was a great deal, and I honestly think for
- 15:39ww was a great deal too, because I think their last TV rights deal
- 15:43was like a couple billion and this one is five Now bro, Like that's
- 15:48I mean, and like like Joe was saying, you got so much control
- 15:52now at Netflix compared or like Cable with so many hands in the pot,
- 15:56Like it's a whole different beast. So I'm I'm I'm gonna say this just
- 16:00if y'all can guess how many people would you say tuned into Monday Night Raw
- 16:04every Monday. Just a guess, like between two and three million, two
- 16:08and three million? Yeah, oh million. Okay, So now they've tapped
- 16:15into Netflix came to two hundred and forty seven point fifteen million subscribers as of
- 16:19twenty twenty four. Yep, not to mention. People are gonna be on
- 16:23Netflix, and you can imagine that it's gonna have a banner up top WWE
- 16:29whatever exactly, you know. So that's why I say WWE. I think
- 16:33they both won, but I feel like WWWE is walking away from that situation
- 16:38with the power to basically amplify already a connglomerate company, you know what I'm
- 16:45saying, Like to another level when you get on Netflix. Sometimes you get
- 16:49on Netflix and you see something that you've never watched before. Exactly, Now
- 16:53you got a whole other qua And yeah, then you're like balls deep in
- 16:56the whole black hole of watching everything that ever existed about it. Exactly what's
- 17:03this one? What was the in the show Gladiators? Yeah, that documentary
- 17:07came out. Oh yeah, that was one of the kind of like wrestling
- 17:11too. I grew up on Gladiators. I used to watch that ship every
- 17:14week and just think about it, like it was such a flash in the
- 17:17pan, like Gladiators came in. It was a couple of years. Bro
- 17:19Wwe been on top since the eighties, bro with no signs of stopping,
- 17:26remember, because they when they started it was on TBS and TNT Max and
- 17:30now they're on the big one of the biggest probably streaming services ever. It's
- 17:36just but so now let's get into the business deal a little bit, because
- 17:38I think business aspects and entertainment is important because there is somebody who got to
- 17:45make these business decisions. They're kind of stray from like the core of what
- 17:49you wanted the thing to be, you know. So now I think Lesson
- 17:53knows a little bit more about it with the whole ri situation and who owns
- 17:57it. So now it's the Holdings Grew that owns w W and UFC,
- 18:02right, yep, exactly, yeah, and like Ari's ahead of it,
- 18:07right, So so basically this deal has they said after the deal came out,
- 18:14they said that it had been in the works for a little while.
- 18:17The company that bought w I mean that bought UFC a few years ago from
- 18:22the Fatida brothers. They actually ended up buying WWE as well. So they
- 18:29formed a joint. The t KO Holdings is the name basically they created for
- 18:34that joint, you know, owning owning venture that they're having with w W
- 18:40UFC. It's kind of like the same company as the head of them,
- 18:42even though they're going to remain separate. They have plans to do like a
- 18:47little bit of crossover stuff obviously, you know what I mean, kind of
- 18:49take advantage, try to like it's funny, like mixing those markets, even
- 18:53because mixed martial arts and UFC fans generally are really against wrestling, you know
- 19:00what I mean. They don't like it. They always you know, they
- 19:03hate the fake aspect of it and versus the biggest stars in in in the
- 19:10USC. Look at Brockles, the Rosy transition transition. That's a natural transition,
- 19:17and it's crazy because you think about him wrestling all that time, and
- 19:22of course he was a collegiate wrestler, you know, one of the greatest
- 19:26collegiate wrestlers of all time. So it's like he was also an athlete and
- 19:30also a fighter in some form. But he went from WWE straight to UFC
- 19:34and in a few fights he was a heavyweight champion, Bro, So you
- 19:37can't discount wrestlers, you know what I'm saying. These Yeah, the Olympics
- 19:48with a broken freaking deck, broken neck dogs. You seen that documentary,
- 19:55right, yeah? Bro, that boy that documentary is sick dog. And
- 20:00so speaking of athletes in the game, like, I think that's that has
- 20:03that has to have had something to do with I mean, really, if
- 20:07you look at like boxing promotions right now, a lot of them work with
- 20:11each other. Talent. They have to, they have to. If you
- 20:14don't if these if these promotions don't start working together, then you gotta you
- 20:18gotta build your own talent. These four brains were better than one. Everybody
- 20:22knows how hard it is to build an audience. So if you could share
- 20:26that cross promote, you know what I'm saying, Like getting new new people
- 20:30to see your product, Dog, that's that's a hard, hard, hard
- 20:33thing to do. So do you see this? Do you see UFC making
- 20:37the Netflix shift? No, that's a good question. I know I know
- 20:41that the I don't know exactly what happened, but I know that the ESPN
- 20:45deal they had kind of sour and plus yeah, the exact details. But
- 20:53you got bellatour. Now you got you know what I'm saying you guys,
- 20:56Yeah, you got more than just your see baron knuckle tour. You got
- 21:00live cage fight. Yeah, bare knuckles big And like I said, Mike
- 21:03Perry, that's a dude who I trained with for like a year and a
- 21:07half over at usc gym Alex Nicholson, he's over there right Mayne. I
- 21:11saw you posted him. I work out with all the people with his people
- 21:15over and Craig Duncan Hi. Yeah, Bro worked out with him. That's
- 21:19where I started my boxing ship, like seventeen years ago. And like I
- 21:23see these people and like it's really like they can be because Mike Perry was
- 21:30in UFC but then he went a barre knuckle but he's building himself up.
- 21:33So it's like if you have these like like we're talking about Brocolessner, like
- 21:37if you have these athletes that are superstars in one genre, you can move
- 21:41them and they can be super so they have that natural ability in them to
- 21:45build himselves, especially with the sport, especially with the sport evolving the way
- 21:49it is, like there's there's you got MMA guys taking boxing classes because you
- 21:55got to evolve in your boxing, you know what I'm saying, or et
- 21:57cetera. It is definitely evolving, and definitely with the business on the business
- 22:03side of things like I don't, I don't. I don't blame brock Listener
- 22:07for Trump, you know what I'm saying. That's that's a whole different avenue.
- 22:10And now you got Ronda Browsey doing the same thing. So I think
- 22:12the reason I say like no, though, is because from the standpoint of
- 22:18I don't think the UFC has the same leverage to make a deal with Netflix
- 22:22that WWE have. From the standpoint of the ww just kind of going off
- 22:27with what you guys just said. You know what I'm saying, The WWE
- 22:30has a certain amount of viewers every week, and you know, for UFC,
- 22:36yeah, people watch UFC or The Ultimate Fighter, but it's nowhere near
- 22:40the same audience. And then they make a lot of well let me get
- 22:42there, let me get what I'm saying. They make a lot of their
- 22:45money through pay per views, you know what I'm saying, Like, it's
- 22:48like the big stuff. So when it comes to WWE, we followed the
- 22:52story every week. We want to know what's going next. UFC we follow
- 22:56the actual fights, and it's not as much of a story as it is
- 23:02a fight. If that makes sense, you know what I'm saying. Yeah,
- 23:04because and if great me if I'm wrong. But it's like you said,
- 23:10it's a story in wrestling, it's not necessarily a story for the real
- 23:12life. You know what I'm saying, Yeah, exactly. Yeah, between
- 23:15UFC fights, you're not following the character, you know. Yeah. Yeah.
- 23:19And so it's like from the standpoint of like Netflix, you know,
- 23:23like like we said, Netflix walked away with something. They're they're gaining that
- 23:26audience, you know what I'm saying, and WW is gaining their subscribers.
- 23:30I don't think that the UFC is. Netflix isn't about to raise their price
- 23:37to combat the UFC making their money off of pay per views. You get
- 23:41what I'm saying, Like, yeah, okay, you know what I'm saying,
- 23:44they don't bring it up to the table. Basically you're saying, yeah,
- 23:48the exactly exactly, But that's what I'm getting at. Like, I
- 23:51feel like UFC transcends internationally. They have all the fights out in Saudi.
- 23:59Yeah, you know, it's primarily Brazilian jiu jitsus you know, entire South
- 24:04America. Yeah, follow them. Do you think WWE has that extension over
- 24:11them? Oh for sure. For sure. Wrestling is crazy. That's worldwide.
- 24:15Yeah, wrestling was worldwide back in the attitude ere Yeah, Like they
- 24:22stream Monday Night Raw and SmackDown and all that stuff, like in every country,
- 24:26bro, Like they're everywhere. Dog Like wrestling has a crazy fan base.
- 24:30Bro. They go overseas and sell out shows like every show, and
- 24:34probably because they haven't kept up with it as much, I don't see that,
- 24:37but I know, you know, I remember they shows are like and
- 24:40Iraq, you know what I'm saying. Yeah, yeah, bro, they
- 24:44have a they do these Saudi Saudi Arabia shows, Dog where a wrestler will
- 24:48get paid like three million to wrestle one match. Bro. Yep, yeah
- 24:52crazy, that's how much they want you out there. Yeah, facts,
- 24:56But that's the port of the business. The point of the brand, you
- 24:57gotta you gotta reach out and just like anything you're doing, whether you're creating
- 25:02content where you're starting your career in boxing, you got to reach out to
- 25:06audiences that don't know you, but you know they're gonna you know you got
- 25:11and that that's what I'm saying. Like when it comes to entertainment, whichever
- 25:15run you're at, because I feel like we're all entertainers in some aspect.
- 25:19You have to make business decisions, man, marketing moves, even if it's
- 25:23not the most important thing to you. Yes, and you're your own brand,
- 25:26man, and if you especially with the fighting thing, if you're your
- 25:29own brand, and ultimately is really is a team effort. But if you
- 25:34don't market yourself, no one's gonna market you. I mean unless you're Shaker
- 25:41Stevenson coming from the Olympics. You know what I'm saying. Yeah, already
- 25:45you know what I'm saying. Then that's lay paid for you. But but
- 25:48you definitely have to market yourself. And that's all goes back down to my
- 25:52man, Steven Matt. He had he definitely put the marketing out there,
- 25:56and he definitely set the brand because it was more than just the wrestling.
- 26:00It was all the events, all the marketing. Look at the at the
- 26:03wrestling shows, everybody's got a wrestling shirt on. Yeah, I always wonder,
- 26:08you know what I'm saying. Wrestling fans are wrestling fans are mega fans,
- 26:12bro, Like you go to a wrestling show and they're magna fans.
- 26:17You know what I'm saying. The little square ring, all the little the
- 26:19little wrestlers. So mm hmm. Sure. Yeah. One thing they're gonna
- 26:25make sure it happens is extending that UFC reach, extending the ww reach.
- 26:30With Ari Emanuel and the Rock kind of at the helm of that, they're
- 26:33gonna they're gonna take the thing to Super New Heights. And it's kind of
- 26:37crazy, man, because the guy that's kind of like at the head of
- 26:41all of this is Ari Manuel, which is the Agent in Entourage. I
- 26:47wanted to talk about him for a while. Facts, Bro, it's so
- 26:49crazy how it all like connected, you know what I'm saying. So he's
- 26:53that he's the agent basically that's loosely based off of Entourage, like the agent
- 26:59in Entourage, I know, you know Jobo, just so everybody knows the
- 27:03backstory. So he ends up being the guy that's at the head of this
- 27:08company that bought ww and UFC. He's heading the merger, he's the one
- 27:15kind of making the big decisions. And as soon as they announced the deal,
- 27:22a lawsuit comes out on Vince McMahon with like crazy allegations sex trafficking,
- 27:29harassment, rape, I mean crazy things. And basically, like once this
- 27:36came out, it kind of shited on the whole parade because they just announced
- 27:41a rock on the board, five billion dollar Netflix deal. You're looking at
- 27:45a time of growth in the company, and now you got to deal with
- 27:48these crazy allegations that are coming your way by way of the former head of
- 27:52the company, Vince McMahon, who is the one that builds it all up.
- 27:56And the crazy detail for me, and that is I saw an article
- 28:00that came out that basically said that ari Emanuel was going to really come down
- 28:03heavy on this situation. And the reason being is they say he's like a
- 28:08real like he's a guy that stands on integrity, like one hundred percent,
- 28:12Like when when the Saudi the reporters got killed in Saudi Arabia a few years
- 28:18ago. He had gotten recently gotten an investment of four hundred million from the
- 28:22same you know, from the Saudi government, And as soon as they killed
- 28:26that reporter, he sent that four hundred million back. He said, Noah,
- 28:30I don't want to do business with you like this is a dude sending
- 28:33back four hundred ms, dog four hundred ms and a guy that's that's navigating
- 28:40business deals like this. I'm one hundred percent sure nobody wanted him to give
- 28:44back four hundred ms. Bro. And on top of that, he had
- 28:48sent his daughter to work at WW a couple of years before, kind of
- 28:53like leading up to the merger, and people close to him are saying,
- 28:56there's no way in hell he would have sent his order to work there if
- 29:00he knew anything crazy was going on. Ye, like that missing man was
- 29:03going exactly. So that's why they're saying, like Ari Emanuel's feeling so caught
- 29:08off guard by this because he really had no clue that he's about to put
- 29:11the hammer down on Like they're saying, he's in a clean house of anybody
- 29:15that even had a whiff of this was going on and didn't say anything like
- 29:19if you was part of this at all, you're gone bro. His brand,
- 29:26Bro. And it's crazy, like he's protecting his brand, but he's
- 29:29also standing on like integrity in a way that like a lot of these companies
- 29:33don't do that. You know what I'm saying, This integrity, that's that's
- 29:36what got up there, man, And so that's what that's what what got
- 29:38you there is we got to keep you there. And if you try to
- 29:41play outside of that, man the other So if you walk away, like
- 29:47I said, it's a major point. He walks away from four hundred million
- 29:51for the incident that that okay, So if you walk away from now that
- 29:53you definitely would have handled something. And that's everybody ready gives him that credibility
- 29:59like okay, all right, you know how to make business decisions in yep.
- 30:03Yeah. Man, It's crazy because and even just to think about it,
- 30:07this is probably like the proudest like career moment that he's ever had.
- 30:11And he was really getting ready to relish in that moment and get ready to
- 30:15get to work, and then this kind of hits you out of left field.
- 30:18This dude couldn't you know, This dude had to be a dirt back.
- 30:22So now your whole thing is kind of all messed up. You know
- 30:25what, I mean, like it's just so crazy how like when you're dealing
- 30:29in those situations, everybody's decisions have a big impact because you're not just affecting
- 30:33your own life, You're affecting the lives of everybody around you that's eating off
- 30:37of what you're eating off of. Sure, Yeah, they was talking about
- 30:41there was like twelve million dollars in hush money that they couldn't even like figure
- 30:47out where it went or like what exactly the situations were. And like they've
- 30:52kind of like been able to through like this new lawsuit and some other information,
- 30:56they've kind of been able to deduct where like a couple million is,
- 31:00but they still haven't figured out like what the what the other money was for.
- 31:04So there's like so much more that they feel like it's going to come
- 31:08down the pipeline just because like there's still so much money missing. And if
- 31:12like this is just one story with one chick, like it's bro, it's
- 31:17a serious it's sick bro. And it's the same as like the Bill Cosby
- 31:22thing. Dog It's like a dude that you grew up with that you looked
- 31:25at like like dog, this was the man. Like even we're just talking
- 31:27about like as a businessman, what he did, Like he bout wrestling to
- 31:32our lives, bro, and he just goes out like the biggest dirt bag
- 31:37dog. So y'all think that there's all your life of having this rep of
- 31:44Really a lot of people look at this man as like, you know what
- 31:48I'm saying, vision of it? Yeah, because what you had to do.
- 31:52You're talking about twenty thirty forty years plus in the business summed up off
- 32:00of crazy. So you know, the thing I think about, you know,
- 32:05when I heard the whole situation, the thing I thought about was just
- 32:08kind of coming up as a kid and watching wrestling and all those like creepy
- 32:13little gimmicks and stuff like that, Like we always would laugh at it was
- 32:16funny. But now it's like, damn, like how much of that?
- 32:20But that happens to everybody. It's like when Kelly Shit came out, everybody
- 32:23started re evaluating all his tracks. Oh this is just talking about it came
- 32:29out reevaluate e joking. And that's why if you're gonna, I feel,
- 32:32if you're gonna be an entertainer, or you're gonna be in the spot like
- 32:36if you don't maintain your integrity and then you can go twenty years with the
- 32:42best integrity and morals forever. The day you flop, they're gonna reevaluate your
- 32:46whole everything and be like, all right, how long has he been his
- 32:51scumbag? Yeah? Yeah? And it's crazy because like you also kind of
- 32:54just look at stuff through a lens of innocence when you just assume the person
- 33:00is solid, you know what I'm saying, So like you might be listening
- 33:02or watching with a different lens because you're not thinking of them as like a
- 33:07dvan or whatever. And then it's like when you go back and you really
- 33:10realize what they was about, that's when they hit you, like, oh
- 33:14man, now it makes sense these things, you know what I mean.
- 33:17It's just crazy how that how that be shaping up? So you gotta stit.
- 33:22You gotta stand on morals. Man. You never reach a point in
- 33:25your career, no matter how good you are, no matter what you're doing
- 33:29in life, You'll never reach a point in your career where you can just
- 33:31be grimy and people are gonna brush it under the rug. Yeah. Facts,
- 33:37same people on the way up, but the same people you're gonna see
- 33:38on the way down. Oh yeah, that's crazy, bro. You like
- 33:44to look at things like you gotta go to bed with the decisions you're making,
- 33:49you know what I'm saying, and you're waking up and you're finding out
- 33:52this. Come on, yeah, it's crazy all this time you Kevin.
- 34:00So, I got a question for you, bro, when you think about
- 34:02boxing, what's the one thing that comes to mind, like just once,
- 34:07Like, what's that one image that you get in your head? Just boxing
- 34:09in general? My family, family. Yeah, man, that's what I
- 34:15do it for. That's why I'm still in it. I feel that well,
- 34:20what got you in there originally? Listen? Man? I was a
- 34:22baseball player. Okay, I was a baseball player growing up. I had
- 34:27a baseball scholarship. I play you know, howy or Bias me Bias Francisco
- 34:34Lindoor Jersey, you know they. I played with them on Team Puerto Rico
- 34:39and got into boxing as as as Really it was a job. At first.
- 34:45I was a sales employee. Yeah, on my twenty first birthday,
- 34:50I'll never forget that. Ten years now in the industry and started as a
- 34:54sales employee. I said, hold on talking about I'm an athlete. I
- 34:57could do this. I could do this boxing thing. Then I started,
- 35:00that's amazing. After I started training, I said, hold on, I
- 35:02can do this, Let's do it, and started buching Man started buying.
- 35:07There's people who pick it up quick and that that. I always always admire
- 35:10stories about people who like Joel Embiid who never played basketball a day of his
- 35:15life until after high school and became an MVP. It's like people who could
- 35:20just say, hey, I might be really good at this if I tried
- 35:23and just do it and end up really good at it. Something with the
- 35:28body, you know what I'm saying, and some things being a baseball player
- 35:30if you play baseball, you know, baseball and boxing have a lot to
- 35:34do with each other. Yeah. It also really tells you, like how
- 35:37few excellent people that really are out there, you know what I'm saying,
- 35:42because it's it's just it's hard to find like people that can really expel that,
- 35:47you know exactly exactly like natural talent, natural talent. Yeah, but
- 35:52like just the idea of somebody that's going to really work for something, Like
- 35:55everybody ain't out there thinking like Leicster, he's good at everything. I always
- 35:59telling me it's good and everything, but it's like you know, like where
- 36:02you where you go, everything that you learn. If you go hard at
- 36:06it, you know what I'm saying, You're you're gonna be good at it,
- 36:08you know what I'm saying, Like I feel like whenever, like like
- 36:13what Kevin said, like from baseball to boxing, it to be great at
- 36:15both. Like it's not a coincidence. You're bringing over the same principles from
- 36:20the baseball into the boxing and you're telling yourself the same thing, like I
- 36:23want to be the best at it, you know for sure? Yeah no,
- 36:28but you definitely you definitely is like you said, it's definitely time.
- 36:30That's that's Boxing is probably the most difficult sport. It's frustrating it when it
- 36:37comes over there actually learning it. Hitting a baseball with a bat is hard,
- 36:43especially when it's moving, you know what I'm saying. Baseball is difficult,
- 36:46But when it comes down to the technique, the grind, you know
- 36:51what I'm saying. In boxing, you're talking about two three hour practices and
- 36:53training, you know what I'm saying. So and it's all over the same
- 36:58six punches many but it's like a frustrating concept because you want to expect the
- 37:05next punch to come out, and it's like you gotta control it. You
- 37:07gotta control Yeah, boxing is like you got to perfectly master the body and
- 37:13mind, like to be really good at it, you know what I mean.
- 37:15The other sports team you know, in basketball, you can kind of
- 37:20go on auto pilot, you know what I mean, Like in boxing you
- 37:22can't do that. You know, the same thing with baseball. You know,
- 37:24you in the field, like you can kind of go on auto pilot,
- 37:28Like once the ball is up, you already know what to do.
- 37:30The ball's going one way, It's going to go that way, you know
- 37:32what I'm saying. It's not going to turn mid air. You run.
- 37:36You know. It's you know, with boxing, you don't know what's going
- 37:39on because you got somebody across from you that's doing as much thinking as you
- 37:43are, with as much power as you got. You know, it's crazy.
- 37:47It's just even like kind of try talking back again about the UFC bro
- 37:52I used to be a huge I'm still a big UFC fan, but I
- 37:55don't go anymore. I used to go to like a lot of UFC events,
- 37:59but it's like eventually, like I don't know if it was getting older
- 38:01or what dog, but hearing them hits. Eventually You're just like, no,
- 38:06I don't even want to hear this no more. Bro, Like he's
- 38:08seeing people get knocked out is like whoa bro? Like just I went to
- 38:14one show one time that there was like three knockouts like in the first three
- 38:16fights, and I was like, oh, and you just hear that sound
- 38:20and just hear them when they drop and see like the person stiff like that.
- 38:23It's like, dang, bro, this is crazy. And these people
- 38:25just wake up and just you know, go right back to training as soon
- 38:29as they can and sign up for a fight right away. I shout out
- 38:32to my cousin Jesse Lizama, he's on CALLI. He's another fighter that I
- 38:39want to start working with, be part of his team out of CALLI,
- 38:44And dude, like the way he trains is just like your It's just a
- 38:47different kind of mindset than all the other people ever met that train to do
- 38:52anything. One thing I want to get into is because one thing I ask
- 38:54these guys it always wanted to ask someone who does it, how much does
- 39:00like the professional like price fighter fighters like watching it, keeping up with it.
- 39:08How much is the influence where you do so like you know, uh
- 39:12Less and Quincy you are musicians, And I asked them how much like the
- 39:15you know, the barely popular artists and the people they look up to,
- 39:20how much do they keep up? How much do they influence how you do?
- 39:22What you do? Don't depend it all. It's it's a following,
- 39:30right, It's a following. So I I I always admired the people that
- 39:37could do it and do it humbly. I've I've always looked up to because
- 39:43boxing you gotta sell yourself. You know, we talked about Mayweather gets a
- 39:49lot of hate, but he I tell them, I tell everybody Mayweather took
- 39:53like the w W E route. He sold the persona because a persona self.
- 39:59So that matters, right, absolutely, That's what I mean. So
- 40:02that's your character, that's your that's that's that's who you're known as boxing.
- 40:09Boxing is one of those things where you have to want to do. If
- 40:14you're not once again, if you're not marketing yourself, if you're not selling
- 40:16yourself, if you're not promoting your fight, and if you're not, you
- 40:21know, once again, once you get up there, they'll do it for
- 40:23you. But the way, yeah, it's levels to this, right.
- 40:29So especially now me. You know when I first started, I started.
- 40:35I started boxing at twenty four years old, you know what I'm saying.
- 40:37And these kids, these young cats start what I was doing when I was
- 40:43playing baseball. They were in the boxing gym, you know what I'm saying,
- 40:45And so they're brought up a little bit different my boxing career. I
- 40:50actually I started. I went out and in boxing, they have what you
- 40:57call the walkout fight to get you comfortable, to to to make sure that
- 41:04you that you get used to the lights, that you get used to the
- 41:07lighter gloves. You know what I'm saying, Kevin Junia is not growing up
- 41:12in boxing. I didn't. I didn't have the benefit to have a walk
- 41:15out fight right here in Orlando. Four time state champion, two time national
- 41:19champ. They don't want to fight against me, you know what I'm saying.
- 41:24And so I didn't really have a whole lot of comfortable fight. So
- 41:28I went out and I thought a guy that was four and oh three knockouts
- 41:31at the time, and I was oh and oh. I lost the decision,
- 41:37and I could have I could have stopped, honestly, because I know
- 41:40that once you in boxing, once you lose your O. You lose or
- 41:45you lose interest, you know what I'm saying. And so but contrary to
- 41:50that, man, we used to we still write back up maybe week you
- 41:52know. And now three and one getting ready to fight my biggest fight of
- 41:58my career February seventh. Teams that's out in Puerto Rico. Shout it out
- 42:01to Miguel Kodo Promotions for the opportunity and yeah, man, so, but
- 42:07you definitely is one of those things where it's more than just training for this
- 42:12way, more than just training. Yes, it's more than just making music.
- 42:15It's more than just doing your craft. It's everything outside of that.
- 42:20Got to move to people. Man, got a marketing man, and even
- 42:22in bad I said, no matter what you're doing and don't matter it just
- 42:27me like I have I get into these projects and I have to motivate the
- 42:31team and convince them to trust me and to follow me and let me guide
- 42:37them. And I'm like, yo, it's it's more than just like I
- 42:39walk off and do my job every day. It's about influencing people to believe
- 42:45in you and trust you regardless of what you're doing. And you got to
- 42:49make that work or else it's hand in hand. You can't do one without
- 42:52successful, one without I think that's my favorite part though, is when you
- 42:58when you aren't as successful well as you want to be, but you still
- 43:01have a support system to so I'm not done. I can keep We're still
- 43:07going. Yeah, that's something we touched on every day. Like we've been
- 43:09doing this for two years and we're still to this day thinking of better ways
- 43:14to do this and be better, ways to make ourselves better, to bring
- 43:17more better quality to what we A'm gonna keep it real with y'all. Man
- 43:21Grounded, you stay grounded. I love what y'all do. Y'all keep it
- 43:25real, y'all talk real life. That's what this less to. Grounded and
- 43:32pounded that into us pause since the beginning, since the beginning, you know,
- 43:37And now we're in that marketing and that business mindset. Okay, we
- 43:42know what our core is, but we have to do this other stuff.
- 43:46Bro. If you want more people to know about Grounded, you definitely you
- 43:51know what I'm saying. We gotta we gotta work it everything else we want
- 43:54people to know about it. Got you, I gotta work you know what
- 43:59I'm saying. Oh I haven't, and God knows my passion is. Like
- 44:04I said, God, family in boxing. I'm not complaining. God knows
- 44:07I'm not complaining. But when you love it, you got it. You
- 44:09know what I'm saying. It's gonna be tough, you know what I mean.
- 44:12I've been home probably for two hours today, you know what I'm saying.
- 44:15But I came straight from the studio all day. It's not a complain,
- 44:19you know what I'm saying. It's just one of those things that if
- 44:22I want to be successful, we gotta work. I tell my wife all
- 44:25the time. The bills don't stop. Yeah, that's what I like about
- 44:30The Bear Show, and that's why I tell everybody to watch. It is
- 44:34really, actually, really good The Bear Yeah and uh. Towards the end
- 44:40of the second season, the guy who's investing money into his whole project,
- 44:45he told them me. He's like, if you're gonna be the fucking guy,
- 44:49be the fucking guy. He says, you gotta love this more than
- 44:52you love anything, and you got it or else it's not gonna be what
- 44:58you feel it is. All that shit is just going out the window if
- 45:02you don't love it more than everything else for whatever you're focused on, right
- 45:07Yep, yeah, and even just like with me and music, kind of
- 45:13going off with what you were just saying, Joe, in the beginning,
- 45:15I played the background character too much, you know what I mean, instead
- 45:20of, like you said, if you want to be the guy, you
- 45:22just got to be the guy, you know what I mean. So at
- 45:23a certain point, you got to believe that you're worth people investing their time
- 45:28and energy, you know, spend their money on you, and you got
- 45:30to show them why. You know that that's what it comes down to.
- 45:34You know, you can say it's not for the people all you want,
- 45:38but without the people, you're not going nowhere. Fact, And it's something
- 45:42that whenever you're like like talking about Mayweather, I mean, you started as
- 45:46pretty boy Floyd, then he moved to money Mayweather, you know what I'm
- 45:51saying. Then he went into that little villain mode at the end, Like
- 45:53he just always evolved his character to make sure that money was coming in.
- 45:59But what was he doing. He was backing it up with the fighting.
- 46:01He was always humble when he was talking on the mic before and after the
- 46:06fight. He was never talking crazy in real life. He was just selling
- 46:10fights. And that's the part that people hated that nobody could beat him,
- 46:15and they try to discount his style, They try to discount how good of
- 46:17a boxer he was. Bro, I know what I saw. That dude
- 46:21was not getting hit by anybody. Bro, by anybody. You could say,
- 46:25defensive fighter, You can say whatever you want. Bro. When you're
- 46:30out there attacking dudes and they not even able to touch you, you're the
- 46:34greatest. Bro, You're the greatest. Floyd mastered the game. Because Floyd
- 46:38mastered the game in a sense, And shout out to my coach, coach,
- 46:42Angus Marshman. Shout out to Corey Marshman. He fights actually this upcoming
- 46:46weekend on his own most valuable promotions. But when it comes down to boxing,
- 46:52a lot of people think that it's a three minute round, so you
- 46:54gotta fight for three minutes. I'm at fault. I'm in. My nickname
- 47:00is a gayo, the rooster fight. We fight till the other rooster's dead.
- 47:06You know what I'm saying, fight for three minutes straight. I just
- 47:09recently found out, man, you don't Floyd didn't exactly like you said.
- 47:14Unless he don't. He didn't get touched because he didn't. He wasn't fighting
- 47:17the whole time, he was playing chess, not checkers. You know what
- 47:22I'm saying. No matter what the people say, nobody is going mass again.
- 47:28Nobody will do what Floyd did. So, Kevin, I have a
- 47:30question for you. As a professional boxer, and as what we just mentioned
- 47:35about Floyd Mayweather and his skillful tactics not only in the ring, but you
- 47:40know how he promoted his character. What's your thoughts on the evolution of Jake
- 47:45Paul respect? Hmmm, that's my thought from something he started after everybody else
- 47:53has started. Respect. But you know what, you know what kind of
- 47:57dogged him on. And now as as we talk today and he says some
- 48:00things, they they undermine his opponents. But at the same time, those
- 48:05big opponents don't want to fight Jake Paul. It does it does nothing for
- 48:07them. It's not like he can just pull anybody out of any any any
- 48:13kind of deal and just fight him because not a lot of people are gonna
- 48:15want to fight him. So you can look at boxing as a big form
- 48:20of another form of wrestling. Straight up, it's a show, you know
- 48:27what I'm saying. And so at the end of the day, you are
- 48:29absolutely right, Like listen, I'll be I'll be the Cat Williams of the
- 48:36boxing for twenty Keep it real, bro like like like a lot of people
- 48:43are going those o's that you see. You gotta trying to keep out to
- 48:47think about who want Damn he's still thirty and oh who's been fighting? You
- 48:52know what I'm saying, Like some people, some big guys don't want to
- 48:55fight Jake think tank chasing. No, I think they they running from tank.
- 49:01They're trying to protect. Yeah, I think that. I think I
- 49:04think he wants the real fights. I think real fights. I think Shaker
- 49:08Stevenson wants to real fights. Took a lot of them. Well retired.
- 49:14I don't believe it. I know that that's that's a big, big,
- 49:16big story right now that he retired, retired. The reason because he wants
- 49:22to fight that they're not giving him because they're putting you know, not the
- 49:27Mexican fighter one thirty champ. He they're kind of throwing other people, you
- 49:31know what I'm saying, to fight him, and and people don't want to
- 49:36fight back. To answer your question, people don't want to fight Jake Paul
- 49:37because he's a big It is all about risk and rewarding, right, right,
- 49:44Risk and reward. If you ain't ready to risk it, you ain't
- 49:45getting no reward, you ain't making no money. Do you think they're afraid
- 49:49of him that maybe this guy can knock me out? Yes? Yeah,
- 49:52they know he's in the gym. Bro. Maybe they just didn't think we're
- 49:57not gonna sell got gotta had a nice love, right, Bro? And
- 50:01he's in the gym boxer, real boxers. Bro. He's not in there
- 50:06every day, Bro, He's in there here when nobody says, look,
- 50:08check this out, feel us Like when it comes down to it, I
- 50:13know that his first few fights were against MMA fighters, but listen to what
- 50:17I'm saying. They were against MMA fighters. Come on, they fight,
- 50:22bro, like he for him to say, for him to risk and reward.
- 50:27The fact that he has one loss, and the one loss was he
- 50:29lost to was by you know what I'm saying, by period. It was
- 50:31really by decision. But he could have really you know what I'm saying,
- 50:37I really respect the J. Paul Man because, like I said to Number
- 50:44one, to do what he's doing with the game is something that nobody really
- 50:47at first, I'm like, hold on, this YouTuber, what you mean
- 50:51ye? Like he's actually living what he's talking like, he's not just he
- 50:54moved his whole camp to Porto Rico, one of them. You know what
- 50:58I'm saying, Like like we really they're gonna train boxing. He lives,
- 51:01breathing, you know what I'm saying. He lives. Shout out to his
- 51:05brother too for for doing the same thing in wrestling. You know more man,
- 51:09that's dope. Yeah, yeah, you know con that's yeah, that's
- 51:15a little nuts, that's yeah. But I respect that response, man,
- 51:20because a lot of people, you know, they kind of take the Yeah
- 51:23they hate. They love to hate him, you know what I mean.
- 51:25And I mean I ain't gonna lie. Like the first couple of fights,
- 51:28I kind of was like it's a joke, but like I mean, he
- 51:30ate fights in now you know what I'm saying, Like and what what what?
- 51:35What up and coming or what pro fighter or what? Guy you know
- 51:38that runs his own promotion runs himself? Yeah fighters, Now he's bros.
- 51:46He signed a man of Soronto. Yeah I love her. He signed crazy,
- 51:52that's crazy her more money than any top ring fight, any other promotion.
- 51:57Like he was crazy for her and now he's signing up the fighters.
- 52:00We have to tell by you were supposed to fight that night in Orlando.
- 52:02Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, he was supposed to fight the man
- 52:06A Soroundo. Yeah. I follow Toronto Sisters are dope, man. Yeah.
- 52:10I've been blessed. Three of my fights, actually two out of the
- 52:16three of my fights were on the Jake Paul Most Valuable Promotions under card.
- 52:21Oh wow, So Kariba Royal is blowing up. That's what krebs on.
- 52:25I drive right, where's that by? That's Karba. It's right off of
- 52:30and actually is uh you know Universal. Yeah, it's over by the Parks
- 52:34bro So Kariba Royal they're hosting all these crazy fights now. They have it's
- 52:40called Stadium Club, which is like a casino, uh sportsbook style bar to
- 52:45watch the games with like one hundred TVs big bar. It's like a mini
- 52:51it's like a mini Miami Live. Yeah. All the big fights are being
- 52:57hosted there. The Jake Paul fight, was it already happened? Paul was
- 53:00there? It just happened, right, Yeah, yeah, it was there.
- 53:02I saw that exactly where it went down. That's crazy. They got
- 53:06it. They got that's where. Yeah, that's where. That's where at
- 53:09the Koreebay and now they got a whole like Most Valuable Promotions, which is
- 53:15Jakes Paul's company. They they they're running with with boxing and they're running with
- 53:21the game right now. They're signing fighters left and right. They're on their
- 53:23mystic man early. You know, you know what, if you think about
- 53:28it, that's what he's on, in fact, self Promotions, And he's
- 53:30talked about it from the beginning about how boxers ain't getting paid what they're supposed
- 53:35to get paid, how the boxing game is kind of full of ship,
- 53:37and he's bro he's putting his money where his mouth is. That's why I
- 53:42respect him, to be honest with you, coming from a coming from a
- 53:45guy that started late as well, I know how difficult it is, you
- 53:47know what I'm saying, So respect respect. So what about this fight that
- 53:52you got coming up? What's kind of like the story behind that, the
- 53:55details? How can people go and watch it? So? This is it's
- 54:00about it's been, it's time, it's been time coming, man, This
- 54:02one's this one's written. It's a matter of me doing what I gotta do,
- 54:07control what I can control, and God knows, I'm on. I
- 54:10called this one. I've been looking for a fight like this one. This
- 54:14guy is a four and oh he's he's just the main event of the night,
- 54:21my first sixth rounder, six round fight. And it isn't is in
- 54:25Puerto Rico, his hometown. Where is it a not a hito nothito right
- 54:30outside? It's about ten minutes outside of where I'm from. So he thinks
- 54:34this is his homecoming. But you know, I got I got, I
- 54:37got mad, I got mad support truly blessed. So at three and one,
- 54:44my coach and I we always said, like I said, like we
- 54:45always said. Once we once we get on the winning side of things and
- 54:51were ready to rock and roll, We're gonna go get, go, go
- 54:52chase after the bigger names. I'm thirty one, man, I'm thirty one,
- 54:58so and I'm not saying that I'm old, but I'm I'm I'm I'm
- 55:00gonna I'm at the prime of where I'm gonna be, and so I don't
- 55:05want to do this boxing thing forever, right, and so now it's the
- 55:08time to start getting going after the bigger names. And bigger names are gonna
- 55:13get me to bigger places. And so this guy is definitely gonna be streamed.
- 55:16Might it's gonna be definitely be streamed on Miguel Quoto Promotions on Facebook and
- 55:22their and their their page. As far as like the TV, I don't
- 55:25know where. You know what I'm saying, yea quote Big Orlando guys.
- 55:29I saw him at Cooper's Hawk when we went for like random dinner when he
- 55:32was there with his family. So the guy in fighting is there one of
- 55:36their prospects. Funny story is actually his nephew. Well yeah, yeah,
- 55:40yeah, yeah yeah. So business yeah, so coach, your coach,
- 55:46this is it. You know what I'm saying. We got the opportunity.
- 55:50I always Quoto, that was my favorite fight with going yeah, watching and
- 55:54everybody's heyed it, and everybody knows I can enjoyed Mayweather just just because it
- 56:00was a gym. Mayweather has been my favorite boxing my whole life, and
- 56:05everybody say it, to the point where I started business side of it.
- 56:07I used to hold fight nights and make T shirts for everybody, have them
- 56:12buy T shirts off me, have them put money in because I knew every
- 56:16single fight he was gonna win and I tell him and it was because that
- 56:21was like when he had this six year contract with its showtime to finish it
- 56:24off. I said, I bet on this guy for three years in a
- 56:27row, two times a year, every May and every September, and I've
- 56:30won every time. And you don't get that out of a lot of people
- 56:35don't. But mcgul koto definitely was one of my favorite fighters to watch and
- 56:40the fight between them was one of my favorite matchups that I ever seen them
- 56:44with. Yeah, that was a good, big, big mcgul coto fan.
- 56:46It's crazy, yeah, man, Shout out to him, Shout out
- 56:50to Shout out to the promotions company, Shout out to Gonzo Gonzolo Gonzalo Sapia
- 56:54with box like he actually was to connect to the promoter in Puerto Rico.
- 57:00Say hey, this guy, he's the rock and rolls. Make it happen.
- 57:02Unfortunately, Man, I'm ready to come to fight, because you know,
- 57:07I was out in Vegas every fight he had here. I'm ready to
- 57:09go to fight. So if the next one in Puerto Rico might have to
- 57:12make a Puerto Rico trip, listen, man, God knows, I've been
- 57:15blessed. Man, I've been blessed. We we got, we got,
- 57:16we got people coming to the island. You know, that's actually what I
- 57:21was doing earlier today is you know, you know getting those shirts made.
- 57:23So got a lot of support, man, I got a lot of support.
- 57:27Like I said, I'm doing what I can on my side, controlling
- 57:30my effort, controlling my energy, waits on point, feeling solid, you
- 57:35know, the rock baby nice. So as we kind of wind down,
- 57:39I had a kind of left field question for you. How do you feel
- 57:43about m M A And is this something you've thought about dipping your toeing or
- 57:45you straight boxing. It's it's an it's a it's a whole nother art.
- 57:52Yeah, it's an art. So it's like learning. It's like, okay,
- 57:55that's what you you an artist? Remember when you went from maybe the
- 58:00piano to the guitar, from rapping and singing for him whatever? It Maybe
- 58:06it's like a whole different r So it might be what I have I been
- 58:09interested, yes, but I also be honest with you, I don't got
- 58:15patience for all that hugging ship. That's like I don't got get up people
- 58:25for you know, rolling around the ground and all respect to all you know
- 58:32what I'm saying, just as bathroom that that's the that's that's the w Yeah,
- 58:42I mean they be doing their thing. I'm not trying to be little
- 58:44be little it at all. But you you've seen the dudes that they like
- 58:46growing, they back like a dead beatle like wanting to fight starts you know
- 58:51what I mean? Come on, come on, just jump, come back
- 58:55man. What's the movie with uh with Michael Blackson man where he lit uh?
- 59:05Where he starts saying you want to fight? And he starts he started
- 59:07doing the you know what I'm saying, Oh, yeah, you know what
- 59:13I'm talking about, like, oh, you want to fight? Oh do
- 59:14you want to fight me? Repo? I think it's yes, yeah,
- 59:22yeah, that's funny as hell. Oh my god, if anybody drops his
- 59:24ground in the Beatle pos on me, I'm walking over. Yeah, he
- 59:28got it. You got it. They don't break you, they break you
- 59:30real quick. I got you know, I got, I got. I
- 59:34got one of my one of the families I work with. Their three daughters.
- 59:37They all do jiu jitsu and they're oldest. She's only twelve, thirteen
- 59:44years old. But she'll bro she'll break my arm. And you know what
- 59:46I'm saying, like respect, you know what I'm saying. Nothing against them,
- 59:51It's just not something that probably yeah, I good. But yeah,
- 59:55man, you got anything else you want to leave the people with, like
- 59:59the date of the fight, any other stuff you got going on, any
- 1:00:02social media or anything like that. Listen, man, date of the fight
- 1:00:07February seventeenth. If you guys want to check us out on check us out.

- 1:00:25But if I leave anybody with any message, I'm always gonna leave you with
- 1:00:30God first, no matter what we do, God first, family second,
- 1:00:35and whatever your passion may be, let that follow. But if you don't
- 1:00:39have God first, and you don't put the people you love in that circle,
- 1:00:45it's not gonna be the same, you know. So that's what I
- 1:00:49always like to leave people with. I feel that man and man going in
- 1:00:53that same spirit. Bro. The only thing that I only care about is
- 1:00:57staying butter and act, act and apt at, not put, not not
- 1:02:36buy, not not not not not not acting
