- 0:05[SPEAKER_01]: Hello!
- 0:05[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to M&P, the NFL podcast, Albert Brewer's over there, and Connor Ours over here, is raining in New Jersey, and I was driving through Dunkin' Donuts this morning, and something hit me after I did school drop off, Albert, that I never see you with like a large.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_01]: You always have a dunks in the show, but it seems like you're a medium guy.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_01]: Are you only a one medium cup of
- 0:30[SPEAKER_02]: No, I, I've actually like, that's actually been my subtle way of cutting back is like I like to have one in the afternoon now my problem is this Yeti cup because there's a coffee shop here in town that I like okay right so I'll fill this all the way up and like nurse it all morning But then I'll try not to do another one later in the day so I had gotten to the point where it was like a little out of control you don't like coffee problem
- 0:55[SPEAKER_01]: Huh?
- 0:56[SPEAKER_01]: You had a Mike McCagnan like coffee problem.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was like I would have like three or four large cut and it's just like you shouldn't I don't know like why it's bad for you But it's gotta be bad for you, right?
- 1:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, can't be great, you know, but I like it so much that like like I'm a large A day guy from going out to order and then I'm like a because I can nurse the large like you said I got the
- 1:25[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you can babysit it for a couple hours and stays cool in the ice.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_01]: I'm only ice.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_01]: Ice, only.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_02]: Um, but yeah, I won't tell you, like Tom Keren, who I, you know, have worked for have known for, I've known Tom, so I was a teenager and he would bring a hot coffee out to training camp.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_02]: I remember when I was covering the Patriots, it'd be like 95 degrees and there he is with his hot dunk of donuts coffee, never switch over dice.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_02]: And then if you ask him about it, he would tell you that ice coffee is not coffee.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_02]: So I think that take is a little bit like saying like deep dish like Chicago deep dish pizza isn't really pizza, right?
- 2:02[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I guess it's a similar vibe, right?
- 2:05[SPEAKER_01]: Because it's made up of all the same things, but then for some reason someone will say it's just not.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, ice coffee is absolutely coffee.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's coffee that's just been chilled.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_01]: And if we're, if we're getting into like the poundier chest one stronger than the other, I think it's a Tom Kern is a Tom Kern is a coffee pierist.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, this would be something like I've heard it from a few times.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_02]: So I think that this was something that he is relatively dug in on.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_02]: And so, you know, I think you could have a good argument with him over it.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_01]: I'm happy for anyone to have a take on something.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_01]: The sports writer like hot cup of shitty coffee at training camp is such an age-old trope at this point that
- 2:55[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like we just need to evolve as people, like there's better most people.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_02]: Iced coffee though, like a training camp break.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_02]: Is this so damn hot out there?
- 3:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, taking a hot cup of team issue, Duncan coffee to training camp, is an insane thing to continue to do in your life when, like, especially if you're covering training camp, your company will expense a $3 cup of Duncan Donuts Ice Coffee.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_01]: You know, or Starbucks or whatever.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, $9 Starbucks cup of ice cup of coffee, but whatever.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_01]: And now they make the cool.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_01]: You can get it on Amazon, like you can get a sleeve.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_01]: Something.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_01]: There's always someone in the breaking news team for support.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_01]: So let's trade that had it.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_01]: He like a, like a custom large dunking doughnuts ice coffee sleeve that kept it cold in the cup.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_01]: So you didn't have to transfer it to a Yeti.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, this is a lot to think about this morning.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_01]: But I, like, I went through the Twitter.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_01]: I went through the drive through and I got my giant cup of coffee and then I was like shit.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_01]: Albert has like a small cup of coffee, is he only like a to see get by on one medium day that doesn't see on Mondays when I'm like completely out of gas, right?
- 4:07[SPEAKER_02]: I know so I get I'll get a small first show on Monday and the reason why is because I know I'm going to need another one half of the show because like my own like way of like controlling myself.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_02]: So I'll get that small coffee knowing, right, like that I'm dead tired and knowing that I have another one waiting for me on the other side of the show.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_01]: I'll give some more for too, you know.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's like in college when, you know, when I used to participate in this sort of thing where it was like you go hard on Thursday and Friday and then Saturday, you're like, you know what?
- 4:39[SPEAKER_01]: I got to switch to beers, you know, they just got a, yeah, just one or two key Saturday at my school is like,
- 4:46[SPEAKER_02]: It was almost like you were going out like three separate times.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_02]: It was especially if they played it noon, be like, there was the, there was the going out, like, and my fraternity would have like, we have blocked, we have blocked party with a sorority.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_02]: So you have like this massive house party in the morning, and then the game, and then after the game, there was tower hour at this bar, two's, and then you go back to the house, and you know, there's no way I'm going out tonight,
- 5:16[SPEAKER_01]: Those are always my favorite nights.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, I feel basically near death.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_01]: And then like I need to sleep and then like 1130, one of your roommates calls you a wimp for not going out and I'm using, that's not the word that they would use.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_02]: Man, before you know it, you're in line for a burrito at 3am.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_01]: and the whole thing starts all over again.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of news to get to today, before we get into a short weekend preview, two very different things going on.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_01]: I'll start with the fun thing to talk about, which is, so a lot of different opinions on this, but the bangles traded for Joe Flacco yesterday, and it was basically a fifth and six round pick swap with the Cleveland Browns, the Browns unload,
- 6:02[SPEAKER_01]: Flacko after Dylan Gabriel played well in London.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't realize until I looked at the day after stats first quarterback this season to throw multiple touchdowns against a Brian Flores defense.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_01]: And went back and rewatched a lot of Gabriel's throws.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_01]: I watched the game live, rewatched the throws.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_01]: He played really well.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's a good player.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I, I don't know.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_02]: I, I think like what's gotten lost in all this contour nonsense is like,
- 6:29[SPEAKER_02]: like this is a guy who looks like he's going to play in the league for 15 years now not I'm not going to say he's ever going to be anybody's long-term answer to the position but like he sure looks to me like a guy who is going to last you know right
- 6:43[SPEAKER_01]: Now, is it one of those deals where I don't think that Cleveland necessarily cares because one of the texts that I got yesterday, you know, because when something happens, you know, you just kind of start having conversations with people in and around the league and someone was like, well, it leaves the team.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_01]: very desperately without a mentor, and then you're one snap away from having to play Shader Sanders, whether you like it or not.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_01]: And I do think that that's probably the downside of this trade if you're Cleveland because Flacco is a consummate professional, but I think the flip side of that is I really don't think Cleveland cares.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_01]: They're one and four.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_01]: The goal here is to build draft equity for next season.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_01]: This is a rebuild and this is the kind of thing
- 7:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I think, um, I can't get out of my head.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think it's right at anything they do with the Sean Watson.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_02]: Let me start there.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_02]: But he's going to be clear to, I think before the end of the season, and I think it's going to be cleared with like a healthy amount of the season left.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, I've heard a lot about like wanting to get a look at Shidorah Sanders.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_02]: So I did some research today.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_02]: This is for a question in the mail bag.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_02]: You can see the mail bag in the website later today.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_02]: So I went through the NFL, I went through the 32 teams and I looked at how many like how many quarterback, how many how many teams came into the season with a former first round pick starting at quarterback.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_02]: Do you know what that number was?
- 8:17[SPEAKER_02]: I don't.
- 8:18[UNKNOWN]: 26.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_02]: So 26 to the 32 teams came into the season with a former first rounder starting a quarterback.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_02]: The six who didn't were the Eagles, the Giants, the Cowboys, the Saints, the Niners, and the Raiders, right?
- 8:32[SPEAKER_02]: So out of those six, the Giants have already have since turned to a first rounder, right?
- 8:38[SPEAKER_02]: So they've got Dart in line up.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_02]: The Niners have actually gone to a first rounder, too, for a very different reason.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_02]: Mac Jones is starting there, right?
- 8:46[SPEAKER_02]: And so if you look at those six,
- 8:49[SPEAKER_02]: Only two of those six have homegrown long-term answers at the position that were drafted outside of the first round.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_02]: So that's DAC in, or I'm sorry, three, three teams.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_02]: DAC in Dallas, jail and hurts in Philly, Brock Purdy, and San Francisco.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_02]: So, here's my point with this, right?
- 9:12[SPEAKER_02]: Is, like, do you want to get a look and see if there's something there with Delan Gabriel and she do our Sanders?
- 9:19[SPEAKER_02]: Sure.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_02]: What are the chances that either of those guys are the guy?
- 9:24[SPEAKER_02]: And I just like look at this and look at like the most recent history of it.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_02]: There are three teams in the NFL who have long term answers on their roster, drafted outside of the first round of that position.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_02]: Three, that's it.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_02]: Three out of 32.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_02]: So what are the chances that Dylan Gabriel or Sidor Sanders are that long term answer?
- 9:44[SPEAKER_02]: And, and here's the, here's the kicker for you.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_02]: All right, here's what I want you to answer this.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_02]: Is it a better chance than the chance that the Sean Watson could, could, could, could, could, could, could, could, could remind this career and turn into something.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: What a good question.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and I mean, like, is that a, is there a better chance that Dylan Gabriel or, or should or Sanders, is the, is the, is the, the Browns quarterback two years from now or to Sean Watson?
- 10:14[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, uh, how many years does Watson have left on his contract that they have to be on his one after after he has won after this year.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_02]: So like two years from now, like, and I'm just saying like, I don't think I don't think any of the, I don't think the Brown starting quarter by for 2026 is on the roster right now.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_02]: Let me be clear about that, right?
- 10:36[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think, I don't think they're starting quarter extra next year's on the roster right now, but it's Baker may feel.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, if you're talking about wanting to get a look at somebody,
- 10:45[SPEAKER_02]: And like you've already sunk so much money into your Sean Watson, right, and the team is not going anywhere this year.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_02]: Wouldn't you be tempted just to get a free look at what it looks like if you're already on the hook for $46 million next year?
- 11:03[SPEAKER_01]: The value we've seen San Francisco be able to do it now, the timing is a little weird because you're going to have a majority, let's say that the Browns continue this kind of a scent with this rookie class and Dylan Gabriel ends up being a player.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the timing is going to be a little weird because you would want to have to pay, I think.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_01]: Some of your, no, I guess it could be Legion of Boom-esque.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_01]: And don't, I'm not saying that the Browns are going to be Legion of Boom-esque.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_01]: But,
- 11:34[SPEAKER_01]: maybe that's your timeline where all these guys kind of grow together and you have a bunch of fourth, fifth, sixth round of the picks that are really valuable and that create something for you.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_01]: And the center piece of that is a third round quarterback that you can use all that savings to supplement.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that lottery ticket is worth it to explore when it's a dead season anyway, right?
- 11:54[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_02]: So like, I mean, it's possible.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_02]: And if Dylan Gabriel ascends and you start to see
- 12:03[SPEAKER_02]: I like I yes.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know who don't Gabriel's that guy.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I just
- 12:10[SPEAKER_02]: I look at it like you're already spending $46 million for next year on on on on on the Sean Watson, um, you already have, um, Dylan Gabriel under contract for next three years after this one, I'm just saying, I think it would be tempting to get a look and I'm yeah, and and look, I think chances are nothing becomes of it, but, like, why wouldn't you want to at least get a look at that?
- 12:36[SPEAKER_02]: And would that look be more valuable than then then getting a look at one of the rookies based on what we've seen across the NFL guys like Baker Mayfield Sam Darnall Gino Smith over the years like I I don't know I mean like I just think it's I think eventually that's going to be a question we're going to be asking
- 12:54[SPEAKER_01]: on the flip side.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_01]: I was talking to a couple of people about this yesterday and I don't know how I'm in the minority on this.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_01]: I love this for the Bengals.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_01]: And here's the reason why I do.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_01]: I can't guarantee you that Joe Flacco is going to be good.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_01]: I can't guarantee you that he's going to help.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we saw Jake Browning yet last week throw
- 13:17[SPEAKER_01]: Literally, by next gen stat standards, the most improbable touchdown of the season, 12% chance of completion, whatever.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_01]: I'll get to, I have a little miniature rant on Amazon numbers that I'll get to in a second here.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_01]: But...
- 13:32[SPEAKER_01]: Like Jake Browning is more athletic than Joe Flacco.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_01]: He just is and he knows Jamar Chase and T. Higgins better than Joe Flacco.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_01]: I think this might be an offensive scheme problem, but we'll find out.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_01]: semi desperation moved by the Bengals.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_01]: And that's awesome.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_01]: That's what we should be doing as owners and personnel people.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_01]: Like you should be operating the way that an 11-year-old operates his madden team when a good player gets hurt.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_01]: Like you should go out and try to trade for the best available player at that position to continue your chances of succeeding right now.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_01]: And the Bengals have pushed everything into the now and granted, I praised Woody Johnson of all people for trading for Devante Adams last year.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so that's another side of the same side of the coin here, but like you're all in on Trey Henderson, you're all in on T Higgins, you're all in on Jamar Chase, you're all in on Shamar Stewart.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_01]: Now you're like this is great.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_01]: I love this is how you should act.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_01]: You're two and three and you still believe that you can win the division.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_01]: You're going for it.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_01]: Good.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_01]: Like we live in a league.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_02]: Coming up covering the Brady Manning rivalry and this belief that those franchises this would go on forever And we saw what happened to the cults post Andrew Locke and we saw it happen to the Patriots post Tom Brady neither of those franchises Handled those situations particularly well, right?
- 15:19[SPEAKER_02]: You know, you
- 15:24[SPEAKER_02]: the opportunity to enter the playoffs with Joe Burrow as you're starting quarterback is gold and needs to be treated that way.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_02]: And if you have any chance of sneaking into the playoffs, especially this year, when it looks like there could be some kinks in the armor with some of the
- 15:53[SPEAKER_02]: Let's just say you're six and six.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_02]: And you're getting Joe Burrow back at the beginning of December, and now it's app off low, Baltimore, Miami, Arizona, Cleveland.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_02]: You can get in.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_03]: You can get in.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_02]: If you split those first two games and run off the last three, now it's four and one, now you're 10 and seven.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, and so we have to find four wins if we're gonna get them to six and six by then, right?
- 16:22[SPEAKER_02]: Packers are the tough one this week.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_02]: Could they split with Pittsburgh?
- 16:28[SPEAKER_02]: Sure.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_02]: Right?
- 16:30[SPEAKER_02]: Could they beat the jets?
- 16:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_02]: Could they beat the bears?
- 16:35[SPEAKER_01]: You and I in a sprint in your old Ohio State Sprint football team might give the jets around for their money at this point, Albert.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_01]: So could they beat the patriots?
- 16:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_02]: So that's four.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_02]: So now you're already there.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_02]: And that's what the Baltimore game
- 16:53[SPEAKER_02]: So, again, like, I feel like I'm, and it sucks because they have not looked at the last few weeks, right?
- 17:01[SPEAKER_02]: You know, so it's hard to keep hope alive for a team that has looked away that they looked the last few weeks.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_02]: But I, I don't think we can understand overstate how much quarterback has held them back.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_02]: And I love the Jake Browning story a couple of years ago.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_02]: but someone pointed this out to me, I looked it up and it's the case.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_02]: There was a throw on Sunday that legit that there was picked off, that legitimately could have been picked off by three different lines players.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm not kidding, I tweeted it, right?
- 17:37[SPEAKER_02]: I can't remember who picked it off.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_02]: Whatever it was, pick the ball off.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_02]: And there were two guys right behind him.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_02]: Why two lines guys right behind him, who, if somehow it slips through this one guy's hands, one of the other guys is getting it, right?
- 17:51[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and I think it was that was like a flash point for the the bangles and that they felt like like Browning's arm was dying out, which there wasn't great arm strength there to begin with.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_02]: And like he wasn't seeing it the way he saw it a couple of years ago for whatever reason.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I have the same concerns everybody else does about Joe Flacco playing behind that line.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_02]: However,
- 18:13[SPEAKER_02]: You have all these skill guys, and if you can find a way to just get the ball out of the quarterbacks hand fast, which I think with those receivers, you can do that, you can be able to, you should be able to, with a guy with that sort of arm strength, you can survive.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_02]: And I just think that this is not about fixing the bangles.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_02]: They're not going to play the lovely wood of Joe Burrow is in there, right?
- 18:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but you look at those first two wins now.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_02]: Doesn't the Jacksonville one look a little different than it did?
- 18:41[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_02]: You know, right, so they beat Jack and in the Cleveland one does.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_02]: And Cleveland ones are going to be on defense on the road.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_02]: And then Burrow gets hurt and we know the rest.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_02]: I just, I, I'm like, again, they got it handed to them by the Vikings and the Broncos, and there's no doubt about that.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_02]: And the Lions to that game was not nearly as close to the score indicated.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_02]: But if they can just get like an average level of quarterback play and I think the other thing people got to remember, like the situation flag always didn't include one in that offense.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_02]: It's not the same as the one he's entering in Cincinnati, you know, and I think too often we look at it.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, he can't play like this is not the same situation.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_02]: All right, so I just look at this and I like me personally, I think FACO gives them a punch or chance.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe not this Sunday in Green Bay.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_02]: That's a tough one.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_02]: It might go close.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_02]: But going forward, um,
- 19:49[SPEAKER_02]: You know, like I look at like what Joe looked like when the the Colts had all their guys last year right like pretty confident right I I just think like if you're good enough around a guy Joe Flacco he's smart enough.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_02]: He's got the experience he'll figure it out and not and I don't mean figure it out like okay like now.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_01]: Um, my question is that this is not what I'm like.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_02]: By the way, I love it.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_02]: It's a, it's a, it's a move Cincinnati has historically not made.
- 20:27[SPEAKER_02]: So thank you.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_02]: Bangles for treating the opportunity to get Joe Burrow into the bracket.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_02]: Into the AFC bracket.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_02]: Like gold, like you deserve credit for that. 100%.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_01]: My, I like this because the other reason I like this is I think this is another narrative busting thing and listen, I understand that the Bengals in the past have been the Bengals, but ever since they've been gifted a second chance at Carson Palmer, which is Joe Burrow, they have been so desperate.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_01]: to make this work.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, we have an indoor practice facility.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_01]: We have naming rights sold for the stadium to get to generate the money.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_01]: And you can say, oh, well, it's not the richest franchise, whatever, whatever, they paid T-higgins.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_01]: They paid Jamar Chase, which didn't really make financial sense.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_01]: And especially the way that they paid them, didn't really make financial sense.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_01]: They have had to sort of huge bump.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_01]: You gave Hendrix and a huge bump.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_01]: But even going back to, when Zach Taylor got there, you led the league in free agency spending.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_01]: They went out and got what Lyle Collins, Ted Karris, and I think there was three, there might have been another big offensive line free agent that year, and then a real end of Brown the year after you got hurt again, you panicked and you got a real end of Brown.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_01]: All this team is doing is behaving exactly the way that people say that the Bengals don't traditionally behave.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that this is another example of that where right and even like the guy even like on defense, you know what I mean like they they did spend on chidobia usia and Mike Hilton and I mean they
- 22:06[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, like, they went and got Vaughn Bell, you know what I mean?
- 22:09[SPEAKER_02]: Like, then they paid to get him back.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_02]: Like, they've done things now.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_02]: I think you can criticize him for letting some guys go.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_02]: Like, was the Jesse Bates thing I'm a steak maybe, but I, you know, like, I think this is like a move that that shows some urgency for the situation that they're in.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_02]: And you just hope that Joe can get back on time, you know, because I know the timeline can be tricky with that.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_02]: We just saw,
- 22:34[SPEAKER_02]: with Brock Perty, like the chance that these things can record happens, you know?
- 22:39[SPEAKER_02]: So, you just hope that like you get Joe Burrow back, at some some months of a hundred percent in December, and if you do and you're still on the race, you've got a fighting chance.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_02]: If you get into the playoffs, now all of a sudden you've got one of the top four quarterbacks in the planet who's been to a Super Bowl before in the postseason.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_01]: Let me make one thing clear before I move on, okay?
- 23:00[SPEAKER_01]: And for fans who again, like, I want to underline the importance of this.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_01]: Fans are like, who cares?
- 23:07[SPEAKER_01]: It's Joe Fleck.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_01]: Name me five other owners.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_01]: Five other GMs.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_01]: Who would make this deal when they're starting quarterback went down in the team was sitting at two and three.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_01]: Name me five others.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think there are.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's I think there's one.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think there's one and that's why I mentioned it.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, and and and and the second part of this why I think there's here's the other thing.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's like
- 23:39[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's more than just a money or the pick or it's also like being willing to acknowledge you have a problem.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm glad you brought that up too.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_01]: How many times, and then I'll finish my initial point, how many times do we have a starting quarterback go down and then the coach treats that as an indictment of him, self, right?
- 24:00[SPEAKER_01]: and is saying oh well we like the guys that we have in our room or you know I prepared this backup quarterback so we're gonna watch him slopp it up for the next eight weeks no like yeah it's it's not right so we're gonna fix it and and the second part of that Albert is like their coaches then I've talked to around league that are like you know okay you get into a situation where you say oh why the hell you start in that guy in a week eight you know like help back
- 24:26[SPEAKER_01]: It has a gotten this bad and the answer is always our owner didn't want to pay more money for a good back-up quarterback You know, we're a bike There's a budget move, okay, and that's what a lot of people don't realize is like
- 24:42[SPEAKER_02]: It's not monopoly money, it's real money.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
- 24:45[SPEAKER_02]: Like, and like, oh, they have calf space.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_02]: Well, did the owner set a budget?
- 24:49[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
- 24:50[SPEAKER_02]: Like, and it does somebody have to take this upstairs and explain it.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_02]: And then when you explain it to your owner, Connor, what are you doing?
- 24:59[SPEAKER_02]: You're probably acknowledging I'm a stake you made somewhere else or somewhere where you left your self-short handed.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_02]: So you have to fall on the sword in that way, too.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_02]: You know?
- 25:07[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, to me, this is almost
- 25:10[SPEAKER_01]: This is the benefit of the owner being the the owner and the ownership family being in the building every day to right and a benefit of the owner being a fan of his team and this particular case Mike Brown loves this team.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_01]: and has shown it, even though, okay, there's some big rudging stuff here.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_01]: It takes a little while to get the contracts done, whatever.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_01]: That happens all over the place in the NFL.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_01]: That happened in Dallas and they lost the best defense employer in the NFL, okay?
- 25:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_01]: So he's getting it done.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_01]: All I'm saying is, and everybody that can read
- 25:46[SPEAKER_01]: anything that I've ever written in the history of my work, knows that I, one percent of the time stand up for owners.
- 25:53[SPEAKER_01]: I would say back off the Bengals on this one.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_01]: Like, this is a sensible move.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's a sensible thing that they did.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, I'm passionate about this one.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, I, I'm not gonna have sat here, you know.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_02]: two days ago and I everybody I already listen to this show heard me do it like I advocated for her cousins you know what I mean like so I can't advocate for her cousins and then say no you that was dumb like you trade for Joe Flacco like I I think like this is
- 26:25[SPEAKER_02]: Well, they looked at their options, you know, and I could just tell you, like they thought Joe Flack was a better option than Russell Wilson or James once.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_02]: Now maybe the money comes into play with with with with with cousins.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_02]: I haven't I haven't heard as much on that one, but like they viewed Joe Flack was the best option.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_02]: And that's what's fascinating about this too is like, I think we all have it in our head, like,
- 26:49[SPEAKER_02]: Does Cleveland trading him to Cincinnati mean the Browns think he can't hurt them.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
- 26:55[SPEAKER_02]: Because you're doing that in division.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_02]: I think the Browns don't care about this year.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think the Browns care about this year.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_01]: But you know, yeah, that's what I do anyway.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_01]: Choosing workboots used to mean sacrificing comfort or durability.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_01]: They felt good, they didn't last.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_01]: And if they lasted, they wrecked your feet.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_01]: Grunt thought that was BS, so they built tough boots that feel great from day one.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_01]: No break-in, no sore feet, because people out there doing the real work shouldn't have to choose between comfort.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_01]: and durability.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_01]: Guys, I got the Marin boots sent, and I'll tell you what, it felt like my favorite pair of sneakers right out of the box on the feet, but then you bring them out, it was doing a little patchwork on the stone wall behind the house, you have the day needed my tough boots, and I felt totally comfortable and secure, and let's be real.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_01]: You can also just throw them on with the pair of jeans, and they look great when you wear them out.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_01]: These are no doubt the most comfortable work boots I've ever worn and they're built to perform.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_01]: Whether you need waterproof, safety toe, soft toe, pull on or lace up.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_01]: They have options that can handle whatever job site you're walking into.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_01]: And Brent stands behind what they may.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_01]: You can wear them to work, and if they're not right for you, send them back.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know any other brand doing that.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_01]: That's a company that believes in their product.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_01]: Brunt isn't just about work boots.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_01]: They offer a full range of high performance gear built for the tough jobs.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_01]: I got the hat with the little pencil holder in it too.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_01]: When I'm doing a little bit of work in the basement from heavy duty work pants, weather resistant jackets,
- 28:34[SPEAKER_01]: Brun was tired of the workware brands out there cutting corners, you work too hard to be stuck in uncomfortable boots that don't hold up so they build something better.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_01]: Boots that are insanely comfortable and built for any job site for a limited time, hour listeners get 10% off of Brun when you use code mmqb.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_01]: Check out just head to brunworkware.com.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_01]: and use the code mmqb, you're good to go.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_01]: And after you order, they'll ask where you heard about it.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_01]: Do us a favor and tell them.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_01]: It was from this show.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_01]: Here's the other thing we got to get to before a quick little weekend preview.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_01]: This, I can't tell and I'm curious your take on this.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_01]: If this entire situation is stunning and is the very part is the very beginning of a very big deal or it's not
- 29:24[SPEAKER_01]: it's kind of just a fart in the wind.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_01]: I really sometimes you don't know how things are going to play in the NFL.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_01]: You see something and you're like, oh my god, this is going to be a huge deal in the no one cares and it's like me screaming from the rooftops about Tom Brady being in meetings and it just doesn't matter to anybody else or you have this situation where, okay.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_01]: So for those of you guys who are not watching on YouTube, you have to go back and
- 29:54[SPEAKER_01]: He dropped the ball the goal line on Sunday at the one yard line.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_01]: Jonathan Ganon came over and it was a rough interaction.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_01]: It looked like there was some yelling and then some sort of a, you know, like kind of like a hit to the chest.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_01]: I initially, the way that I looked at it and knowing at least kind of who Ganon is a little bit, I thought it was like one of those like really aggressive pump-up talks.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 30:21[SPEAKER_01]: Where it was like, come on, like, you're my guy.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you know, you've got it.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_01]: You've got it.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_01]: You've got it.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_01]: Turns out that's not the case.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_01]: Because he was fired up.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_01]: He was fine $100,000.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_01]: And after he apologized before the fine, too.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_01]: I believe.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_01]: And he apologized before the fine.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_01]: After the game, it makes the interview with Paris Johnson take on a little bit different of like his Paris Johnson stayed with Amari until
- 30:49[SPEAKER_01]: after the thing with Jonathan Ganon happened, he had his arm around the running back the entire time.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_01]: And he said like I didn't want him to absorb any of that negativity, I didn't want him to feel that way to feel that pain.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_01]: That takes on a little bit of a different context now that this is in a apology worthy infraction in that Ganon didn't take that opportunity to pump his guy up now.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_01]: This is an incredibly frustrating decision and you're seeing the absolute polar opposite sides of everything.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_01]: Now you're seeing the can and needs to be fired and then I saw Mike Tyson's a great former NFL coach and just great dude come out and say, Jonathan Ganon is totally in the right.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_01]: I would have done the exact same thing if I was on an NFL sideline and that this is like an indictment of the fact that we've all gotten soft around players.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_01]: right so that that's where the argument is right now and I feel like again this could blow away because it's the cardinals and and let's be honest like you know no one really cares at the end of the day or cardinals fans care not a lot of other people care but this has the potential to be kind of a big deal I don't know.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_02]: I think we need to stop treating these interactions
- 32:08[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, you know what I mean?
- 32:09[SPEAKER_02]: It's a rough sport stuff happens.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_02]: I, I, you know, I, like, I just, like, I, I, I really, I hesitate these situations because it was so different when we were younger, you know what I mean?
- 32:23[SPEAKER_02]: Like, and stuff like this wouldn't be caught on camera.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_02]: And I think part of this is, I think we just see so much more now.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's affected the officiating, right?
- 32:31[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I think the officiating,
- 32:32[SPEAKER_02]: I go over the weekend and hit me, it was like, oh my god, all these games are over officiated.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_02]: And I think a huge part of it is the amount of stuff that we see.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_02]: And I think it's in the officials' heads, you know, like, well, if I miss this or I miss this, like, there are 15 cameras at this game and high definition and someone's going to catch my mess.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_02]: So if it's close, I got to call it.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I think the same thing exists with this.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I think sometimes you have
- 32:58[SPEAKER_02]: You have like relatively routine interactions that go a little overboard, that then are digested as if like
- 33:09[SPEAKER_02]: You know, like, Jonathan Ganon, Jonathan Ganon tracked him down in a dark alley and beat the crap out of him.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_02]: That's not what happened.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
- 33:16[SPEAKER_02]: Like, it's, did it go a little overboard?
- 33:19[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_02]: Um, is this, on the level of what happened on Friday night in Indianapolis?
- 33:26[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_02]: You know, like, to fuck that.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's, it's just, it's like, but I, I think I, but I think we can fight the two things and it's like, like, you know,
- 33:39[SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes like it's just an emotional game.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_02]: It's a physical game, you know?
- 33:43[SPEAKER_02]: Like is it stupid when a guy like hits another punch is another guy on the side of the head, you know, the guy's got a helmet.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's stupid, but like
- 33:54[SPEAKER_02]: And that sports sometimes emotions get the best to you.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_02]: You're not, this isn't golf, you know what I mean?
- 33:59[SPEAKER_02]: Like this isn't tennis.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_02]: Like, and even in tennis, we've had our John Mac and Rose over the years, you know?
- 34:05[SPEAKER_02]: So I just, you know, like, I hesitate to like really indict people on these heat of the moment things.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_02]: And then I think the leagues reaction on this.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_02]: I mean,
- 34:15[SPEAKER_02]: I think, I think this is, I think, 345 Park, like, to, I'll do respect, Connor, this isn't a shot at you for what you just said.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I would not put too much stock in what's going on there.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_02]: I think this is a little bit like this, like, which way is the wind blowing?
- 34:33[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, all right, so I think, I think if that video doesn't exist, let me ask you this.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_02]: If all we had was a description of the situation and not the video with the league of touched it.
- 34:50[SPEAKER_01]: No, but with the league of touched Ray Rice, if that if there was a problem too, right?
- 34:56[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_02]: Well, why did it take the video for them to react that way?
- 34:59[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_02]: They're so wrapped up in what's going on on social media and so wrapped up in what are people going to say on Monday and Tuesday about it?
- 35:07[SPEAKER_02]: And there, I mean, it's the week office is filled with lawyers and PR people.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_02]: Those people don't get ahead of things.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_02]: Those people react to things, you know?
- 35:16[SPEAKER_02]: And so like it's just who they are.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_02]: And I, I don't know, like I hesitate in that situation to look at this and say,
- 35:24[SPEAKER_02]: This is more than a coach reacting emotionally and going to a little bit overboard.
- 35:32[SPEAKER_02]: And Paris Johnson, by the way, is like one of the best guys in the NFL, did you know this?
- 35:38[SPEAKER_02]: He is actually in a lumb of the Lantern, the Ohio State School newspaper.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_02]: So he and I are fraternity brothers that way.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_02]: So he and I are both both both both X staffers at the Atlanta, but you know, I like he is he's very like he is the guy who would put an arm around the young teammate, you know what I mean like yeah and help him through that.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, I just just know and Jonathan again and knowing Paris a little bit.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know D Markato like I don't so I I don't know, you know, who he would be like, like, you know, who he is as much.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_02]: Um, a situation isn't the most shocking thing in the world or the biggest deal in the world to me.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_02]: And I just think, we need to stop treating every time someone lays hands on somebody else as a salt because it's not the same thing.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
- 36:32[SPEAKER_02]: It's not the same thing as somebody like hauling out and clothes lining somebody.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_02]: And sometimes they're treated that way, you know?
- 36:38[SPEAKER_02]: And, um,
- 36:40[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I know we're in different times, like I'm sure you at one point or another had a coach grab you by the face mask, right?
- 36:46[SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah, yeah, you can't do that anymore.
- 36:49[SPEAKER_02]: So there has been change, you know what I mean, like in those sorts of things.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_02]: But at the same time, I think we can all act with good reason in these situations and just like, look, like did it go a little overboard?
- 37:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, has it the end of the world no?
- 37:06[SPEAKER_01]: I, um, here's my two cents on this.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_01]: Um, so I, I wrote about the phenomena of dropping the ball before the goal line.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and this part.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_02]: No, I still have to read that story.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm not going to sit here and pretend that I already did.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_02]: Um, so I still need to read it.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_02]: I can't be that guy.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, no, but when I saw brain fart in the headline, I, I was, I was definitely, I was just a little tied up yesterday before I could get to it.
- 37:31[SPEAKER_01]: any time I can get fart in a headline at Sports Illustrated is a good day, but so I dug into the phenomena of it and I talked to sports performance experts and neural psychologists and it's really interesting, okay, and this ties into both D. Marcato and it ties into Jonathan Ganon, okay, and not to excuse either of it, but I think it makes sense and here's why.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_01]: When you're approaching the goal line in certain situations, you are, for whatever reason, like it is an involuntary mental reaction.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_01]: And so what's happening is he's running, he's already done all the stuff that you have to actively think about.
- 38:11[SPEAKER_01]: And now your body is on kind of a cruise control.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_01]: And what you're thinking is like,
- 38:16[SPEAKER_01]: your brain remembers every time that you've ever scored a touchdown.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_01]: And now it's giving you that feedback and real time.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_01]: And it's saying you're about to cross the plane of the end zone.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_01]: And what do we do when we cross the plane of the end zone?
- 38:27[SPEAKER_01]: We drop the ball.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_01]: And then we initiate the celebration.
- 38:30[SPEAKER_01]: And then we get to go have Gatorade.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_01]: And then like a million people are going to send us the posts on Instagram, right?
- 38:35[SPEAKER_01]: And like your brain starts getting flooded with this stuff.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_01]: And it's one of those situations where
- 38:43[SPEAKER_01]: It's sometimes for no reason your body involuntarily initiates the celebration pathway in your muscles.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_01]: before you actually cross the finish line.
- 38:57[SPEAKER_01]: And so there's people out there saying like, and it's an interesting argument to have.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's like the natural release is what you're saying.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_01]: It's a natural release, right?
- 39:05[SPEAKER_01]: So it's like, it's one of those things where a lot of people are like, and on my day, we handed the ball to the ref.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_01]: M-F-R-like, this is not, I guarantee you.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_01]: this is not a situation where he was so excited to celebrate that he was like screw it, you know, it's one of those things.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's also probably another camera's is every camera's or every one situation because this happened in 1971 it would have been a touchdown because no one would have seen it.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_01]: You know, right.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_01]: It would have been a score.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_01]: And, and, and, and, but the other side of this.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_01]: is I brought up what Jonathan Ganond did to one of the neuropsychologists.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_01]: That too is a little bit of an involuntary reaction, not a good involuntary reaction, but he is so in that moment, he is like, like, we've all yelled at our kids, right?
- 39:52[SPEAKER_01]: We have all, uh, we have all, like, when we didn't want to, uh, we have all had reactions like that, where all of a sudden you just kind of
- 40:02[SPEAKER_01]: all these signals and it's called a bottom-up reaction, right?
- 40:06[SPEAKER_01]: Jonathan Gantemite had been going through that too.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_01]: And so we have this moment where the NFL is the ultimate pressure cooker.
- 40:12[SPEAKER_01]: and it's sometimes just causes these mental lapses.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_01]: Now, Jonathan Ganon is more judged I think on his ability to handle these situations, right?
- 40:26[SPEAKER_01]: Because when you're the coach and he mentioned that, you have to be the CEO of the operation and a CEO doesn't lay hands, just period, right?
- 40:37[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, and I'm not saying that
- 40:40[SPEAKER_01]: you know, we all get frustrated and we've all done things that we don't want to do.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_01]: But you know, when Elon Musk is is is debuting the cyber truck and he says they're shattered proof windows and he throws a softball at the window and the whole thing breaks.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't go over and grab the engineer by the back of the neck and throw him around.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you have to behave in a certain manner at this point in time in the NFL period.
- 41:10[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm actually going to, you know, all right, so I just had this thought, because do you think it makes it worse that it happened one week after it happened somewhere else.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_01]: The, okay, this is a great, this is a great part of the discussion.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_01]: I would say for the majority of the population, you're saying that because 80 Mitchell dropped people before the goal line the week before, and so everyone was aware of it, okay?
- 41:43[SPEAKER_01]: Does it make it worse that you did it again?
- 41:45[SPEAKER_01]: I would say the majority of the population would say, yes, here's why I changed my mind on this, okay?
- 41:50[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_01]: This is based on now the neuropsychologist that I talk to ever went to the University of Michigan.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if there's an issue with you.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_01]: I've already done it.
- 41:59[SPEAKER_01]: Definitely.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_00]: Disfeat the findings.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_01]: Definitely.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_01]: But the way to fix this, I asked him this exact question, right?
- 42:09[SPEAKER_01]: Every coach in the NFL puts up this big video at their first meeting and says, guys, God damn it, don't do this in the game on Sunday.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_01]: Okay?
- 42:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_01]: That does not help you mentally in any way, shape or form.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_01]: Okay?
- 42:23[SPEAKER_01]: If you were a team that never wanted this to happen, okay?
- 42:28[SPEAKER_01]: what you would have to do, starting in training camp.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_01]: This is according to mental professionals, right?
- 42:33[SPEAKER_01]: Is every single time any player ever crossed the goal line.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_01]: You would have to have somebody there ensuring that they went, all this has to be an unconscious mental process.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_01]: It has to be an unconscious mental process.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, that's the argument of people who study the brain for a living.
- 42:53[SPEAKER_01]: I am also willing to hear the argument that this happened the week before, and it shouldn't happen the next week.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that's what I need to ask somebody there this.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_02]: I wonder if Jonathan again and show it on like Friday or something.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure he did.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_02]: That would be what we said
- 43:20[SPEAKER_02]: Jonathan Ganon showed it on Friday, because if that was the, that would explain it, right?
- 43:26[SPEAKER_02]: It would explain the frustration, but yes.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_02]: But no, no, no, no, no, but like, yeah.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_02]: And you and I have been around football coaches like, I've been around football coaches since, since the elementary school.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_02]: I,
- 43:45[SPEAKER_02]: I wonder if they, because that is what was said, like that, that that is what was said a coach off, is like, look, Emma, for I just freaking showed you this on Friday and you're like, you could, I can see the words coming out of a coach's mouth.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_02]: Can't you?
- 44:02[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I mean, I, I need to look into that, I need to look into that because I wonder if that's why, like, because that would to me, it doesn't, I'm not saying it justifies it, but that would explain it, right?
- 44:18[SPEAKER_01]: I think that makes sense.
- 44:21[SPEAKER_01]: I agree with you, but it's interesting to talk to people who study the brain because here's the here's how I'll put a bow on an album.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, by doing what Jonathan Ganon did, according to psychologists.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_01]: is that he has now registered this as a and and this isn't I'm not doing therapy speaker.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just saying the way that the brain registers it as a traumatic experience.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_01]: So now what do coaches always want players to do?
- 44:45[SPEAKER_01]: They want them to play free, right?
- 44:47[SPEAKER_01]: They want them to not think.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_02]: They're fast.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they're free.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_02]: Know what you're doing.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_01]: Play fast.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_01]: Play free.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_01]: Know what you're doing.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_01]: Now by doing that.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_01]: what have you taken away from demarcado, the ability to play fast and play free because now that he is that happened to him and this is a thing now he's gonna be thinking about it every time you touch his football and you wanted to do credit to your Ohio State guy with Paris Johnson did you wanted to put it your arm around him and say should happens dog
- 45:16[SPEAKER_02]: We're moving on, you know, and I would say like, you know, in like old school football and like old school football theory, um, hang on a second.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_02]: I have an answer.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_02]: He's got an old school football theory in old school football theory, right?
- 45:45[SPEAKER_02]: The Cardinals showed the play last week.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 45:52[SPEAKER_02]: So the breaking news on the MMQB party.
- 45:57[SPEAKER_01]: Whoo!
- 45:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the Cardinals showed the play last week.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_02]: So, that's, yeah, so that, I mean, but it explains it, right, explains it.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_01]: So, um, okay, it does, um, and it explains the frustration.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_01]: I'm interested to see where it goes from here, um, but it's the age-old thing right where, well, I was saying what I was saying was an old school football theory,
- 46:21[SPEAKER_02]: there is a good cop that cop thing that goes on within teams or there's one guy who gets in your face in another guy who puts his arm around you right and that's pretty common and so I wouldn't say that that's like a detrimental thing like I would say like that's that can lead to growth you know having somebody very bluntly telling you where you messed up maybe not with a hand in your chest but very bluntly telling you where you messed up.
- 46:46[SPEAKER_02]: And then another guy coming along and putting his arm around you.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_01]: So it all goes back to the person, maybe Demar Cotto is the kind of guy who appreciates that kind of tough love, maybe he's not.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_01]: You've talked to players who were like, I like playing for Disciplinarians, you've talked to players who say that.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I played for the coach like Aaron Glenn right now for example cut.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_01]: That's the return guy after he drops one ball now Does everyone start tighten up a little bit because they think they're gonna get cut instead of playing fast and free?
- 47:13[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's the age old question all depends on how your brains made up
- 47:19[SPEAKER_01]: I have to tell you about this game-changing product I used before a night-out with drinks and it's called Priya Alcohol.
- 47:25[SPEAKER_01]: Zbiotics Priya Alcohol Probiotic drink is the world's first genetically engineered probiotic.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_01]: It was invented by PhD scientists to tackle rough mornings after drinking and here's how it works.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_01]: When you drink alcohol gets converted into a toxic byproduct in the gut, it's a build-up of this byproduct, not dehydration that's the blame for rough days after drinking.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_01]: pre-alcohol uses an enzyme to break this bi-product down.
- 47:52[SPEAKER_01]: Just remember to make pre-alcohol your first drink of the night, drink responsibly, and you'll feel great tomorrow.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_01]: Look guys, I won't lie.
- 48:00[SPEAKER_01]: I was a bit on the fence about this initially, but then I was hanging out down at the clubhouse watching Monday night football took it down for myself.
- 48:07[SPEAKER_01]: And a bunch of my friends we all gave it a shot and believe me it's the real deal falls right around the corner So that means it's time to raise a glass to your favorite team whether you're tailgating and join college game day Watching Sunday action on that fancy new TV don't forget about Zbiotics pre-alcohol probiotic drink drink a pre-alcohol before drinking
- 48:29[SPEAKER_01]: and enjoy great days after celebrating all season long.

- 49:04[SPEAKER_01]: Let's just scour real quick Albert.
- 49:07[SPEAKER_01]: This weekend's late.
- 49:08[SPEAKER_02]: And by the way, by the way, I will say this like I do think,
- 49:14[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I'm really just to put a bow on it.
- 49:16[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I do think Jonathan Ganon felt like legitimately terrible.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm sure he did that.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_02]: I think you can see that.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_02]: Like, so I just want to make sure, like, I'm not being flimpant about this.
- 49:28[SPEAKER_02]: I think he felt like legitimately terrible about what happened.
- 49:31[SPEAKER_02]: But I do think there's some element of, we just told you.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
- 49:36[SPEAKER_02]: And I, again, I got my suspicion confirmed here.
- 49:39[SPEAKER_02]: But like, I feel like it's something that,
- 49:44[SPEAKER_02]: If you just told like I can see why that would make you explode when you're in this situation you've lost a couple of games in a row and now like this like all the crazy stuff that happened in that game is is putting your ability to win in peril which obviously it did because without that play they won the game.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_02]: I only have 17 of them.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_02]: So anyway, again, not justifying, but just explaining.
- 50:09[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that I'm glad that we could get to the bottom of that here live can Kyler Murray with that line of thinking go put his hands on Jonathan again.
- 50:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's just for not letting him try to throw for a first down on third night.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_01]: Right, then we'd have a conversation.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_01]: Let's talk about the weekend slate really quick, which is awesome.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 50:34[SPEAKER_01]: There's a ton of good games.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_01]: Just I'm going to list them first and then just shout me out one that kind of really sticks out to you.
- 50:41[SPEAKER_01]: And we have Lions, Chiefs on Sunday Night Football.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_01]: Hello, that's a good game.
- 50:44[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's one.
- 50:44[SPEAKER_02]: I think the Chiefs, by the way, we haven't had a chance to really dive in on them.
- 50:48[SPEAKER_02]: I, I think the Chiefs,
- 50:51[SPEAKER_02]: Like watching them on Monday night, they're still the chiefs.
- 50:55[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I mean, they were awesome for three quarters.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_02]: The Jaguars, he takes six.
- 50:58[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's like a lot of fluky stuff happened.
- 51:00[SPEAKER_02]: Like that Brian Thomas, that's row.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_02]: That Trevor Lawrence sort of Brian Thomas was unbelievable.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Travis Stumble, where was all to stand up?
- 51:08[SPEAKER_02]: Chris Jones isn't going to stand there in most of those situations.
- 51:11[SPEAKER_02]: So people can kind of get off his back a little bit.
- 51:15[SPEAKER_02]: You know, like I, I don't know.
- 51:18[SPEAKER_02]: that looked like a really and I would also say like Jacksonville can take a lot from a two like to me it mirrors Sunday night right it was for the bills and chiefs like I don't think those losses are that big a deal but they're justifiably great wins for two teams with young quarter backs and first year head coaches that are on their way right
- 51:40[SPEAKER_01]: I, um, I mean, this is, I don't know.
- 51:44[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not one of those like chiefs reactionary artists.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_01]: I just have nothing to say about them until I have to cover them in the Super Bowl again this year.
- 51:51[SPEAKER_02]: There's a Patriots.
- 51:52[SPEAKER_02]: They're going to be there.
- 51:53[SPEAKER_02]: The home is like great.
- 51:55[SPEAKER_02]: How's the cross-ex, which maybe that's how, how, how is the play?
- 51:58[SPEAKER_02]: Otherwise, Mrs. Lincoln thing, but like I, I mean, that other than the pick six, like he was phenomenal.
- 52:04[SPEAKER_02]: He won that game at the end, you know?
- 52:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I still, the chiefs here sent it them off in the red zone and it was just, there was the interference calling it, but they were there.
- 52:12[SPEAKER_02]: They actually did make a plan on the ball at the end too.
- 52:15[SPEAKER_01]: Here's everything we need to know about the chiefs.
- 52:16[SPEAKER_01]: They got the ball back with 25 seconds left in three timeouts and how certain were you that they were going to get a chance to kick that field goal.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know what I mean?
- 52:26[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, okay, I got to make a cup of coffee.
- 52:28[SPEAKER_01]: I think this thing's going over time.
- 52:30[SPEAKER_02]: I was actually concerned about the overtime situation because I was going to have to stay up for another half hour.
- 52:36[SPEAKER_02]: That's Albert's nap time, guys.
- 52:37[SPEAKER_02]: It's not that I love football, everybody.
- 52:39[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody knows me knows I'm like obsessed.
- 52:41[SPEAKER_02]: I love football, but Monday night over time is a tough one for me.
- 52:45[SPEAKER_01]: That's a rough one.
- 52:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 52:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's not when you want.
- 52:55[SPEAKER_01]: I mean the 49ers beat the freaking rams last week with Mac Jones a quarterback and like a bunch of bartenders playing on offense this is
- 53:03[SPEAKER_01]: And Tampa Bay with the chance to go five and one, I'd love everything about this one, too.
- 53:07[SPEAKER_01]: This is another good matchup.
- 53:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think, well, first of all, like I think we're seeing the value of Kyle Shannon and his staff now and now, if you're the Niners, you give him whatever he wants to be your coach, as long as he wants to coach there.
- 53:26[SPEAKER_02]: You know, like they're doing this without Nick Bosa, they're doing this without George Kittle, they're doing this without Brandon Iyooks,
- 53:33[SPEAKER_02]: I, like, they're, they're, they're scrappy, they're tough.
- 53:35[SPEAKER_02]: They, they play to their talent, you know what I mean?
- 53:38[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I think that's the best thing you could say is like, you look at where they are and, you know, from an injury standpoint and they're not like, they're playing a game that they know they can win.
- 53:47[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
- 53:48[SPEAKER_02]: They're not playing as if they still have all those guys out there.
- 53:51[SPEAKER_02]: It's just really, really impressive.
- 53:53[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, Tampa now, I,
- 53:57[SPEAKER_02]: To me, like, this is like one of those measurements.
- 53:58[SPEAKER_02]: Like, for Tampa, like, this is one of those, like, all right, the last couple of years you probably, you maybe lose this game, like, let's see now.
- 54:07[SPEAKER_02]: Like, let's see that you're that team that we think you're becoming now, which, you know, like, they've been really good the last few years, but like, this is like, now you're in that category where it's like, you're on the margins.
- 54:17[SPEAKER_02]: And the difference between you and the next level up is on the margins.
- 54:20[SPEAKER_02]: And can you win a game against a team as well coach
- 54:26[SPEAKER_02]: Super Bowl experience in that sideline, that's a, I love that match up and, you know, I think it's a chance for the buck and ears to make a statement that there are different team.
- 54:37[SPEAKER_01]: I agree, we have Bengals Packers, which, you know, you have that flaco, you know, element added to it.
- 54:44[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure he's going to see some snaps and and we'll see what happens there.
- 54:47[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, maybe Cincinnati, maybe you get that little Mike a Parsons bump at the team just being like, hey, they believe in us.
- 54:53[SPEAKER_01]: And listen, Green Bay is not infallible, right?
- 54:56[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, this is a team that has had some hiccups over the course of the year.
- 55:01[SPEAKER_01]: And, and, you know, hasn't necessarily been playing their best ball of late.
- 55:04[SPEAKER_01]: Rams Ravens, I wish we just had
- 55:07[SPEAKER_01]: healthy.
- 55:08[SPEAKER_01]: I know we're roster right now.
- 55:10[SPEAKER_01]: I know otherwise I think shumming they might pick this team apart.
- 55:14[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, but this is a desperate situation for the Ravens too.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_02]: Like this is a whole lot of all the stops.
- 55:18[SPEAKER_02]: They have their buy after this.
- 55:20[SPEAKER_02]: So like, I mean to me for the Ravens, this is a
- 55:24[SPEAKER_02]: Like, this could be a fun one to watch because the Ravens probably, I'm sure John Harbaugh and Todd Monkin and Zach or have it in their heads.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_02]: Like, we're going to have to be pretty creative to win this one.
- 55:35[SPEAKER_02]: So this could be a fun one to watch from that perspective, because it's like, this is a survival game.
- 55:40[SPEAKER_02]: If they can win a 7-6 game and get to their buy, like, okay, like, now this looks a lot different, right?
- 55:46[SPEAKER_02]: Now we're two and four.
- 55:47[SPEAKER_02]: I think the other side of their buy is really manageable.
- 55:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's
- 55:52[SPEAKER_02]: it's bears and dolphins on the other side of the body.
- 55:54[SPEAKER_02]: So like if you win, if you can find a way to scratch this one out if you're the ravens.
- 55:59[SPEAKER_02]: now you're looking at a pretty, like a clear path to back to 500, you know, and even beyond that, like you've got the browns in November, you've got the jets in November, I would not be throwing dirt on the Ravens.
- 56:14[SPEAKER_02]: And if they can win this one, again, I think this is a situation where if you're a John Harbour on his staff, you try to get his creative as you can.
- 56:22[SPEAKER_02]: to win this one, I think you could be in good shape going into your being a good shape coming out of your by.
- 56:33[SPEAKER_01]: How about, how about very quickly, it looks like Lamar Jackson will not play just so, you know, anyone listening and you can plan ahead, I'm getting bombarded right now by Mike Garafolo on Twitter for not setting my fantasy football lineup, so don't be me.
- 56:48[SPEAKER_01]: Um, who'd you start, uh, I haven't set my lineup in the ledger alumni league for like the last four weeks, but I'm somehow miraculously winning games with like three players.
- 56:59[SPEAKER_01]: That just means like, that just means you've got good culture.
- 57:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not whack in my players after they make a mistake.
- 57:07[SPEAKER_01]: No, I'm just kidding.
- 57:08[SPEAKER_01]: But Lamar Jackson is like, rapidly machine gun style tweeting Bible quotes.
- 57:16[SPEAKER_01]: So it sounds like, I don't know what that means.
- 57:18[SPEAKER_01]: He is playing or is not playing, but it sounds like everything seems like it's leaning in the direction of him not playing.
- 57:25[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 57:25[SPEAKER_02]: Because they have to buy on the other side too, we do.
- 57:28[SPEAKER_02]: I think colors that um there are a couple of sneaky good ones like you wouldn't have thought they would have been good it's like Seattle, Jacksonville.
- 57:36[SPEAKER_01]: I mean that's that's my game and that's the one I want.
- 57:40[SPEAKER_01]: I want I can't wait for this.
- 57:42[SPEAKER_02]: Like that one Arizona and Andy is interesting too.
- 57:46[SPEAKER_01]: I mean the cardinals have to get off the mat against the cults.
- 57:49[SPEAKER_01]: I mean this is yeah I really like this one too.
- 57:52[SPEAKER_01]: I mean how does I and I said this on Monday
- 57:56[SPEAKER_01]: This is either Jonathan Ganon's Caleb Williams Hail Mary game, or this is the game that he turns it around.
- 58:05[SPEAKER_01]: And this is the game that he fixes everything.
- 58:08[SPEAKER_01]: People who say it can't be done in a week, I don't know, people can change.
- 58:12[SPEAKER_01]: And I know we don't.
- 58:13[SPEAKER_02]: I know we don't.
- 58:14[SPEAKER_02]: I generally get the money that games, but we get the tirey Stevenson revenge game on money game.
- 58:18[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you think he's gonna be paying attention this time when they're throwing it to him?
- 58:22[SPEAKER_01]: I bet he is.
- 58:25[SPEAKER_01]: That's a little too.
- 58:27[SPEAKER_01]: You know what though, and here's why here's how I kind of want to put like a universal bow and this whole thing like drive.
- 58:34[SPEAKER_01]: Unless you have ever and and and I'm not saying this in a mean way because I know that being able to have been on an NFL sideline during a game before is an absolute privilege and it's a very cool part of a very cool job that I have.
- 58:49[SPEAKER_01]: I would say unless you've been in that moment and even tangentially, like when I'm standing there doing reporting on an NFL sideline, I can't think at all, you brain just scrambled and imagine being on the field and imagine being in front of millions of people and imagine the mistake that you're making being magnified in a way, like you're brain.
- 59:12[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not telling you.
- 59:13[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not telling you.
- 59:16[SPEAKER_02]: I think everybody should have the chance to see what this look what it looks like.
- 59:20[SPEAKER_02]: And even the sound, the hits make that dull, fun, like holy, like I remember the first time I was on a sideline, like the holy crap, like that was a routine hit, and it's like my chest would cape in if I was hit like that, you know what I mean, like stuff like that, it's just you gain a lot of respect for what's happening down there for sure.
- 59:45[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not saying it excuses, but it makes sense why someone like Tyre Kille is so lost in the moment that he is not locked in on a play or why a player drops a block.
- 1:00:00[SPEAKER_01]: Like it is a blender of sensory experiences.
- 1:00:04[SPEAKER_02]: It just isn't as intense an environment as you could possibly imagine.
- 1:00:10[SPEAKER_02]: And it is like, I don't, you know,
- 1:00:15[SPEAKER_02]: I won't make war.
- 1:00:17[SPEAKER_02]: like analogies here.
- 1:00:20[SPEAKER_02]: But it's like, I mean, it's modern-day gladiators.
- 1:00:24[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
- 1:00:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's like, it's just the intensity of that environment, the physicality of it.
- 1:00:33[SPEAKER_02]: And then like just the cauldron of the noise and everything else, like it's easy.
- 1:00:39[SPEAKER_02]: I could see where a young player, especially, because he was what, like second year, I think when that happened, right?
- 1:00:44[SPEAKER_02]: Like last year was his second year, I think,
- 1:00:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:00:48[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 1:00:48[SPEAKER_02]: Like so, you can see where it's very easy to get swept away and that's for sure.
- 1:00:56[SPEAKER_01]: I'm ready for even Thursday.
- 1:00:58[SPEAKER_01]: If I'm just casually curious if the giants can make this a game and or if we're just succumb to endless graphics about how this is this is the ultimate is this eagles game right game?
- 1:01:11[SPEAKER_02]: What, yeah, no, no, I mean, like is this the ultimate like that's not the team you want to see after Yeah, right.
- 1:01:18[SPEAKER_00]: That could be it, too.
- 1:01:19[SPEAKER_02]: Like it ran a like, Today, does it land to get that with Buffalo this week, right?
- 1:01:23[SPEAKER_02]: Like we're Buffalo is like, All right, and that for here we come, you know what I mean?
- 1:01:29[SPEAKER_02]: Like it's just, you know, you do get the feeling that it could be that sort of Situation and
- 1:01:36[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the giants are wanting for now, so you also have that danger of it being a stand-alone game and how some of that discussion go and a stand-alone game, you know, with the job status and people there.
- 1:01:48[SPEAKER_01]: No doubt.
- 1:01:50[SPEAKER_01]: I am, I'm ready.
- 1:01:52[SPEAKER_01]: Like, on Mondays and it's not that I don't like my job, but by the end of Monday night, I'm like, I need, I need like 11 weeks in Cabo with no phone.
- 1:02:03[SPEAKER_01]: And then by like Wednesday, I'm like, let's go.
- 1:02:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, giant seagulls tomorrow, baby.
- 1:02:09[SPEAKER_01]: But.
- 1:02:10[SPEAKER_01]: that's how it is.
- 1:02:11[SPEAKER_02]: And before you know you're taking a picture of your dinner plate, which I'm sure we'll all be able to get a look at.
- 1:02:16[SPEAKER_01]: That's been tough lately.
- 1:02:17[SPEAKER_02]: We got, yeah, you've been, it's been, you've been on hiatus from that.
- 1:02:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I brought it up.
- 1:02:22[SPEAKER_01]: I know.
- 1:02:24[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I've been doing a lot of lately, and this is not, it's not great.
- 1:02:29[SPEAKER_01]: health-wise, but you know, I try to work out and you balance it out, but I've been buying a lot of just like fresh baked bread and then just making sandwiches all the time.
- 1:02:39[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just kind of eating sandwich kick, but like really good, like we have a really good bakery bite, like buying, not just like taking out Wonder Bread and slapping turkey on there, like I'm talking about.
- 1:02:50[SPEAKER_02]: you get in real bread from real break bakery, you're really like in the promised land of Deli of Deli's too, you know, Jersey for sure.
- 1:02:58[SPEAKER_02]: One thing I miss about one thing I remember about living in a book, remember from living in New Jersey was this is a little thing.
- 1:03:06[SPEAKER_02]: How thinly they would slice the meats, you know what I mean, like the Deli meat, make some difference.
- 1:03:11[SPEAKER_02]: It does make a difference, yeah, like it's just it's something that you
- 1:03:19[SPEAKER_02]: living in the northeast you should rarely go to a chain pizza chain pizza or chain sub right like because the mom pop places are generally better however jersey mics because of how family they slice the meats is uh is it is is it is it is a go to for me and it is because it like when I was in Ohio and you couldn't find a great sub jersey mics showed up there
- 1:03:47[SPEAKER_02]: When you're in Massachusetts or where you're at, every town has a so-and-so house of pizza, right?
- 1:03:54[SPEAKER_02]: Where there's the Greek pizza and the awesome subs.
- 1:03:58[SPEAKER_02]: And you don't have that in other parts of the country.
- 1:04:01[SPEAKER_02]: So me going and getting like any sort of chain food,
- 1:04:06[SPEAKER_02]: And those two categories is a rarity, which speaks to the job that Jersey Mike does.
- 1:04:10[SPEAKER_02]: And if Jersey Mike wants to turn that into a sponsorship deal, then I was going to say we're sitting here.
- 1:04:15[SPEAKER_02]: We're sitting here waiting for him.
- 1:04:16[SPEAKER_02]: I think we should have above.
- 1:04:17[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 1:04:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:04:18[SPEAKER_01]: Way to round that out, Albert.
- 1:04:20[SPEAKER_01]: This is a pod above.
- 1:04:21[SPEAKER_01]: Just like Jersey Mike's is a sub above.
- 1:04:24[SPEAKER_01]: Um, absolutely.
- 1:04:25[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
- 1:04:26[SPEAKER_01]: What a great way to end that.
- 1:04:26[SPEAKER_01]: Just bring it in the cash for the MMQB pod.
- 1:04:30[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe I'll start dressing better.
- 1:04:31[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 1:04:32[SPEAKER_01]: Probably not.
- 1:04:36[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody's got a price Connor.
- 1:04:37[SPEAKER_02]: You go whatever you're like same dude.
- 1:04:39[SPEAKER_01]: I Jersey Mike you sponsored this thing.
- 1:04:42[SPEAKER_01]: I will show up tomorrow I mean I'll I'll stuff him into my mouth between game breakdowns.

- 1:05:21[SPEAKER_02]: I took a picture of something and a
- 1:05:26[SPEAKER_02]: Um, so it's just ended over.
- 1:05:28[SPEAKER_02]: Hopefully it gets over here quickly.
- 1:05:30[SPEAKER_02]: So we can get show me on with his day.
- 1:05:32[SPEAKER_02]: It's a way for a live reaction to the Kyron here that just showed up on TV would be a nice, uh, boat of put on the show.
