- 0:00Speaker 1: This is 710WOR, where the Mark Simone Show starts now.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Well, now it's Friday, finally. Now it's going to rain today,
- 0:13Speaker 2: but it's going to be a nice weekend. It's going
- 0:15Speaker 2: to rain today, off and on, and then sunshine all weekend.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Not warm, it's going to be cool, but sunshine all weekend.
- 0:22Speaker 2: A lot to get to. We'll get to Katie Zachariah,
- 0:26Speaker 2: we'll get to Elon Omar, we'll get to Susie Wiles,
- 0:29Speaker 2: we'll get to Mamdani and Blakeman and Hochul and a
- 0:33Speaker 2: whole lot more. 18 days until the election. 18 days
- 0:38Speaker 2: until the election.
- 0:40Speaker 3: Two and a half weeks away.
- 0:42Speaker 2: President Trump goes to Georgia today and then from Georgia
- 0:46Speaker 2: for the first time beginning of the season, he'll after
- 0:50Speaker 2: that go to Palm Beach, Florida. Well, he'll spend the
- 0:53Speaker 2: weekend at Mar-a-Lago. He hasn't been there in a long time.
- 0:55Speaker 2: It closes for the summer. It closes right after Mother's Day.
- 0:59Speaker 2: It usually opens around Halloween, but it's going a little
- 1:02Speaker 2: early because there's a big MAGA something dinner. Then there's
- 1:06Speaker 2: an RNC dinner tonight that he will be at. That's
- 1:10Speaker 2: at Mar-a-Lago. So first weekend back. It's almost, oh, it
- 1:16Speaker 2: is the middle of October. So he'll be back there.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Election looks pretty good. Republicans, pretty good for the Senate election.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Looks like they should win the Senate, despite all the
- 1:27Speaker 2: fake polls you're reading out there. The House is in question, though.
- 1:30Speaker 2: That's too close to call. We'll have a great pollster
- 1:33Speaker 2: with us later on in the program, so we'll get
- 1:36Speaker 2: the latest on that. Now, Katie Zachariah. It was shaky,
- 1:43Speaker 2: that first briefing. She was nervous. It was shaky. Her
- 1:46Speaker 2: main problem is her voice. She's got kind of a
- 1:49Speaker 2: shrill voice. It's not a pleasant voice. It's not an
- 1:52Speaker 2: authoritative voice. That's the problem. But But not all press
- 1:56Speaker 2: secretaries do. Now, usually when you become the press secretary,
- 2:02Speaker 2: you spend a couple of weeks preparing. You go to
- 2:05Speaker 2: the White House. You go over all the stuff. You
- 2:07Speaker 2: do practice rounds. You meet with all the principals in
- 2:11Speaker 2: the White House. You get up to speed, every detail
- 2:14Speaker 2: of every issue. And again, you really spend a couple
- 2:18Speaker 2: of weeks prepping. Then you do your first briefing. Well,
- 2:20Speaker 2: she got there on a Sunday. Monday was a holiday,
- 2:24Speaker 2: nobody was in the White House, and then all of
- 2:26Speaker 2: a sudden tried to do her first briefing on a
- 2:28Speaker 2: Tuesday with no preparation. That wasn't a good idea. That
- 2:31Speaker 2: wasn't smart. She was on Hannity last night, and Sean
- 2:35Speaker 2: gave her a real tough grilling. I mean, a very
- 2:38Speaker 2: polite one, a very nice one, but it was a grilling. Anything,
- 2:42Speaker 2: I mean, there's nothing you could ask her that he
- 2:45Speaker 2: didn't hit her with. He asked her everything and anything,
- 2:48Speaker 2: and she was pretty good on there. Now you're going
- 2:50Speaker 2: to read in the Fake news, or if you're watching CNN,
- 2:53Speaker 2: they'll tell you it was a train wreck. It wasn't
- 2:55Speaker 2: a train wreck. Listen for yourself.
- 2:57Speaker 4: Given the fact that I'd been on the job less
- 2:59Speaker 4: than maybe eight hours and had a briefing book in
- 3:02Speaker 4: the morning, I feel like I did my very best, Sean,
- 3:06Speaker 4: to deliver for the American people that day.
- 3:08Speaker 2: What is that? Wait, hang on. That's my phone. Wait,
- 3:13Speaker 2: hang on, hang on, hang on, hang on. Sorry about that. Now,
- 3:18Speaker 2: her voice is a little shrill. It's kind of childlike-ish.
- 3:21Speaker 2: But again, that'll smooth out. She'll get better at that.
- 3:23Speaker 2: But as far as content, she was fine. And he
- 3:27Speaker 2: asked her about saying she was a lawyer and she's
- 3:30Speaker 2: never passed the bar. And she went through all of that.
- 3:33Speaker 2: She went to Pepperdine, which is a very fine law school,
- 3:37Speaker 2: graduated from Pepperdine, has a law degree, and did take
- 3:42Speaker 2: the bar in California and didn't pass. Now, that's not unusual.
- 3:46Speaker 2: A lot of people don't pass the bar the first time.
- 3:49Speaker 2: But she never went back and took it again because
- 3:51Speaker 2: at that time, she's married and her husband has to
- 3:54Speaker 2: go to China for a big job. She's going to China.
- 3:57Speaker 2: So she immediately goes to China. Now, she has worked
- 4:01Speaker 2: as doing legal work for corporations. And while in California,
- 4:09Speaker 2: she worked at the Shenzhen Law Firm. So she's worked
- 4:13Speaker 2: at law firms. She was one of four international associates
- 4:17Speaker 2: who drafted multi-million dollar agreements for cross-border transactions and all
- 4:22Speaker 2: sorts of complicated legal stuff. So she did a lot
- 4:25Speaker 2: of legal work. Now, you can do that without passing
- 4:28Speaker 2: the bar. She's a lawyer who didn't pass the bar.
- 4:31Speaker 2: So you can do the legal work in a firm
- 4:33Speaker 2: as long as a barred attorney, someone who has passed
- 4:36Speaker 2: the bar, is there to sign off on it, you're fine.
- 4:40Speaker 2: And people point to, there have been judges who went
- 4:43Speaker 2: to law school, have a law degree, but never actually
- 4:45Speaker 2: passed the bar. There was Judge Thomas Griffin, U.S. Court
- 4:49Speaker 2: of Appeals, D.C. Circuit was confirmed. He'd served as a
- 4:52Speaker 2: general counsel at Brigham Young University. He never passed the
- 4:55Speaker 2: actual bar exam, but he was a trained lawyer with
- 4:59Speaker 2: a law degree. So it's not a big deal. I mean,
- 5:02Speaker 2: they're making it sound like it's the greatest scandal. It's nothing.
- 5:05Speaker 2: It's absolutely nothing. She hasn't been appointed attorney general, press secretary,
- 5:12Speaker 2: a law degree. is absolutely not essential in any way
- 5:16Speaker 2: to be the press secretary. It has no relevance to
- 5:19Speaker 2: this whatsoever. But it's fake news. They've got to have
- 5:23Speaker 2: something to yell and scream about, huff and puff about.
- 5:26Speaker 2: You know, if you run a fake news channel, if
- 5:28Speaker 2: you run MSNOW or CNN, you've got to get those
- 5:31Speaker 2: people riled up. It's like people with the pitchforks and torches,
- 5:36Speaker 2: and you've got to give them red meat, throw them stuff.
- 5:38Speaker 2: So anything you think is a scandal, they'll throw out. Now,
- 5:42Speaker 2: the Susie Wiles stuff, the New York Times writing an
- 5:46Speaker 2: article about how women, women are all getting thrown out
- 5:50Speaker 2: of the Trump administration. They're trying to make it look
- 5:52Speaker 2: like a female issue. It's not. It's just people that
- 5:56Speaker 2: Trump wasn't happy with and removed them. A New York
- 6:00Speaker 2: Times headline, the disappearing women of the Trump administration. But again,
- 6:04Speaker 2: there are people he wasn't happy with. Kristi Noem, Tulsi Gabbard,
- 6:08Speaker 2: Pam Bondi. They just, you know. Thought they would do well.
- 6:11Speaker 2: They didn't do well on the job, and he removed them,
- 6:13Speaker 2: which is what you're supposed to do. But eight female
- 6:17Speaker 2: cabinet-level officers, Lori Chavez de Ramirez. I don't even remember
- 6:22Speaker 2: who that is. Oh, she was the labor secretary. A
- 6:24Speaker 2: couple others you wouldn't remember. But Susie Wiles is the
- 6:27Speaker 2: one on the chopping block now. We got reported by
- 6:32Speaker 2: somebody that Susie Wiles was close to being dismissed. She's
- 6:36Speaker 2: the White House chief of staff. Apparently it says, now
- 6:38Speaker 2: who knows? Who believes this stuff? This is media ideas,
- 6:41Speaker 2: a very, very biased left-wing website. Political reports that Trump
- 6:48Speaker 2: freaked out that the news was out. Well, he can
- 6:51Speaker 2: freak out, but I know he is considering getting rid
- 6:55Speaker 2: of Susie Wells because he's been asking everybody. He's been
- 6:58Speaker 2: running it by anybody and everybody. So the problem is
- 7:01Speaker 2: he'll ask everybody. He talks to hundreds of people a day,
- 7:04Speaker 2: very smart people. I mean, if you need opinions... He's
- 7:08Speaker 2: talking to the most brilliant executives, smartest people, the most
- 7:11Speaker 2: brilliant politicians all day long. So if you need to
- 7:14Speaker 2: do a survey, that's the group to do it with.
- 7:16Speaker 2: But when you ask hundreds of people, word's going to
- 7:20Speaker 2: get out. So he can freak out. But it is
- 7:24Speaker 2: being talked about there. Now, voter fraud. Well, there are
- 7:32Speaker 2: mail-in ballots being sent out to people that aren't citizens.
- 7:36Speaker 2: There are people that.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Shouldn't even be voting. It's going on like crazy. They've
- 7:42Speaker 2: asked California about 20,000 ballots that went to non-citizens. And
- 7:49Speaker 2: California refused to respond. So there's all kinds of investigations.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Justice Department looking into it.
- 7:57Speaker 6: I can confirm that the FBI and U.S. Postal Inspection
- 7:59Speaker 6: Service are investigating a series of suspicious mailings. that have
- 8:04Speaker 6: been sent to various addresses nationwide. Some of those, including
- 8:07Speaker 6: secretary of state offices and the related election offices. We
- 8:11Speaker 6: have intercepted some of these letters and they are in
- 8:14Speaker 6: law enforcement possession.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Now, one of the reasons this happens, you got some
- 8:17Speaker 2: very bad secretaries of state. They're the ones in charge
- 8:20Speaker 2: of the ballots and the voting in their states. And
- 8:24Speaker 2: you remember George Soros a few years ago spent a fortune, many,
- 8:30Speaker 2: many hundreds of millions of dollars getting these secretaries of
- 8:34Speaker 2: state installed, real bad left-wing woke crazies into the secretary
- 8:40Speaker 2: of state jobs in many, many, many states. So that's
- 8:44Speaker 2: why it's hard to control. And whatever the steps the
- 8:47Speaker 2: Justice Department is taking probably won't have any effect on
- 8:51Speaker 2: the midterms because it's only 18 days a week, not
- 8:54Speaker 2: a lot of time to do anything. So, hey, last
- 8:58Speaker 2: night was the Al Smith dinner. It's an off-year Al
- 9:01Speaker 2: Smith dinner. It's not a presidential year where the candidates
- 9:04Speaker 2: show up. But the strangest sight of all at the
- 9:08Speaker 2: Al Smith dinner was Zoran Mamdani in a white tie
- 9:14Speaker 2: and tails. But there he was at the Al Smith dinner.
- 9:18Speaker 2: It's black tie in the audience, but up on the dais,
- 9:21Speaker 2: it's white tie and tails. So you would think he
- 9:24Speaker 2: wouldn't do that. You would think he's such a socialist anti-elitist.
- 9:28Speaker 2: But there he was. sitting up on the dais with
- 9:31Speaker 2: the billionaires and the elite in his white tie and tails.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Cardinal Dolan, who's still a big part of New York City.
- 9:40Speaker 2: He was the honoree. He was the keynote speaker.
- 9:42Speaker 7: Thanks for inviting this now-retired, unemployed pensioner on Social Security
- 9:49Speaker 7: and a fixed income as your speaker this evening.
- 9:53Speaker 2: I used to be in Who's Who?
- 9:55Speaker 8: Now I'm Who's He?
- 9:56Speaker 2: Yeah, well, it's an old joke, but he was very good.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Excellent last night. The emcee, the comedian Jim Gaffigan.
- 10:04Speaker 9: We have a pretty diverse dais. We have with us
- 10:08Speaker 9: the 1%, the. 01 %, and the. 001 %. Sadly,
- 10:17Speaker 9: Mayor Bloomberg couldn't make it.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's the first one he ever missed.
- 10:23Speaker 2: But it was strange. There was Mom Donnie up there
- 10:28Speaker 2: in a white tie and tails. Now, it's a very,
- 10:32Speaker 2: you look at the pictures, you think this is a
- 10:34Speaker 2: very serious dinner. No, it's actually a lighthearted dinner. It's
- 10:37Speaker 2: a roast. Everybody jokes around. The other honoree was Police
- 10:40Speaker 2: Commissioner Jessica Tish. And she was pretty funny, too.
- 10:45Speaker 10: Things have got a little hot for me this week,
- 10:47Speaker 10: just in case.
- 10:48Speaker 11: Anyone hiring?
- 10:50Speaker 2: Well, I don't think Mom Donnie's going to get rid
- 10:52Speaker 2: of her. But she was good last night.
- 10:54Speaker 5: There's a lot of talk these days that the mayor's
- 10:56Speaker 5: friends don't like me.
- 10:58Speaker 11: That is simply not true. President Trump and I get
- 11:01Speaker 11: along great.
- 11:03Speaker 2: All right. That's not bad. Not bad. You know, I mean, listen,
- 11:06Speaker 2: she's not a comedian, but you have somebody on your
- 11:08Speaker 2: staff who writes some jokes for you, reach out to
- 11:11Speaker 2: Some comedian, you know.
- 11:12Speaker 3: To give you a few jokes.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Hey, speaking of Mom Donnie, in the debate, Blakeman really
- 11:20Speaker 2: went after Mom Donnie, calling him all kinds of names.
- 11:23Speaker 2: And it was odd that Kathy Hochul didn't defend him
- 11:27Speaker 2: when it came to her. She didn't say anything to
- 11:29Speaker 2: defend him. So I thought maybe Mom Donnie might not
- 11:33Speaker 2: like that. You know, she can't win without Mom Donnie.
- 11:36Speaker 2: She needs Mom Donnie to get her over the finish
- 11:38Speaker 2: line in New York City. Well, Mamdani is still there.
- 11:42Speaker 2: He's in the fight. Mamdani coming out swinging. He even
- 11:46Speaker 2: made a video. But Mamdani now going after Blakeman.
- 11:50Speaker 5: It is hard for anyone to keep up with all
- 11:53Speaker 5: of the bigotry and racism that Bruce Blakeman exhibits on
- 11:57Speaker 5: a regular basis. So I think that the governor did
- 12:00Speaker 5: a good job and I'll never fault someone for not
- 12:02Speaker 5: being able to catch all of it because that is
- 12:04Speaker 5: a fool's errand when it comes to Bruce Blakeman.
- 12:06Speaker 2: Right now he's trying to you know crush blakeman but
- 12:08Speaker 2: that is quite a tribute to blakeman because one thing
- 12:11Speaker 2: you'll never see in blakeman is any racism or bigotry
- 12:15Speaker 2: there's never been a hint of that an allegation of
- 12:17Speaker 2: that i can tell you knowing the guy 30 years
- 12:20Speaker 2: there is no bigotry or race nothing that's a preposterous
- 12:23Speaker 2: charge but again it's a tribute to blakeman they can't
- 12:28Speaker 2: find anything to attack him on they can't come up
- 12:30Speaker 2: with an attack so they go to that cheap joe
- 12:33Speaker 2: biden crap you know joe biden used to do that
- 12:35Speaker 2: whoever he was running against is a white supremacist he's
- 12:38Speaker 2: a racist uh he's a q anon he's a whatever
- 12:42Speaker 2: whatever stuff they would have all this crazy stuff that
- 12:44Speaker 2: didn't fit but it's just cheap joe biden crap that
- 12:49Speaker 2: you do in a debate so if blakeman's using that
- 12:51Speaker 2: it means he couldn't find anything to go after blakeman
- 12:54Speaker 2: on but he did put out the first video Mamdani
- 12:58Speaker 2: campaign video.
- 12:59Speaker 12: Governor Kathy Hochul actually fights for working families in New York.
- 13:03Speaker 12: When Bruce was busy, or actually, Bruce wasn't that busy,
- 13:06Speaker 12: Governor Hochul was helping us close a $ 12 billion budget
- 13:09Speaker 12: deficit here in New York City. And when New York
- 13:10Speaker 12: City needed a partner in delivering free universal childcare, Governor
- 13:13Speaker 12: Hochul didn't just help us deliver 2,000 new seats for
- 13:16Speaker 12: two-year-olds this year. She worked with us so we could
- 13:18Speaker 12: deliver 10,000 more seats next January. That's why I'm voting
- 13:22Speaker 12: for Governor Hochul, because she's the real deal for New Yorkers.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Bruce Blakeman?
- 13:27Speaker 12: He's a bad apple.
- 13:28Speaker 2: All right. Listen, that's a Mamdani video, but it'll help
- 13:33Speaker 2: Hochul with the Mamdani voters. She needs them. She has
- 13:37Speaker 2: to win the real nuts of the left wing, and
- 13:39Speaker 2: that'll help with them. As far as that, Blakeman is
- 13:42Speaker 2: not busy. I mean, again, ridiculous. Blakeman's known for being
- 13:46Speaker 2: a workaholic. Blakeman's known for going from 6 a.m. to
- 13:49Speaker 2: midnight every day, not only in the office, but going
- 13:52Speaker 2: to everything, every event, every meeting, every town hall, everything
- 13:57Speaker 2: you can go to. He's just nonstop all day and night,
- 14:00Speaker 2: always has been. So, again, a kind of a tribute
- 14:03Speaker 2: to him that they couldn't find anything to go after
- 14:06Speaker 2: him on. Hey, the horses. This is an important point.
- 14:11Speaker 2: You know, this whole thing about getting rid of the horses.
- 14:15Speaker 2: They have to get rid of the horses. It's inhumane.
- 14:18Speaker 2: And it's not just Mamdani, but it's Julie Menon, the
- 14:21Speaker 2: city council speaker, who's starting to look more and more weird,
- 14:25Speaker 2: this city council speaker. Very strange. She's pushing this. The
- 14:31Speaker 2: reason you have to get rid of the horse is
- 14:33Speaker 2: growing public safety liability. She said it's about public safety. Well,
- 14:40Speaker 2: let's look at the facts. One horse died in 100 years.
- 14:45Speaker 2: 100 years of operations. No, excuse me. It's not the horse.
- 14:51Speaker 2: It's one person died. In 100 years of the horse-drawn carriages,
- 14:55Speaker 2: only one person was killed having anything to do with
- 15:00Speaker 2: those horse-drawn carriages in a hundred years only one person
- 15:05Speaker 2: died as a result of the horses with the e-bikes
- 15:10Speaker 2: there have been 113 that have been 130 that have
- 15:14Speaker 2: been killed in seven years so one person died as
- 15:20Speaker 2: a result of the horses in 100 years 130 Actually,
- 15:26Speaker 2: it's 133. 133 died just in seven years. So that's
- 15:31Speaker 2: like 16 deaths a year by e-bikes. One death every
- 15:34Speaker 2: hundred years by horses. So it doesn't look kosher, this
- 15:40Speaker 2: whole thing. Some people think Mamdani just wants to get
- 15:43Speaker 2: rid of anything that he thinks is elite. It's virtue
- 15:47Speaker 2: signaling from Mamdani. Also, the Plaza Hotel closing. And we'll
- 15:52Speaker 2: get to that coming up. Apparently... He was asked to
- 15:55Speaker 2: help with that and wouldn't talk to anybody. So it's,
- 15:59Speaker 2: you know, when you come to, if you're, we have
- 16:01Speaker 2: a lot of listeners around the country, when you come
- 16:03Speaker 2: to New York this Christmas and you're around Central Park,
- 16:06Speaker 2: you won't see, the plaza will be all covered up
- 16:08Speaker 2: in scaffolding. You won't see the horses. It'll be different. Hey,
- 16:12Speaker 2: we got a lot more to get to coming up.
- 16:14Speaker 2: It's Mark Simone here. Nine to noon, three hours, nine
- 16:17Speaker 2: to noon every day. On 710WOR.
- 16:21Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show. Now, nine till noon weekdays.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Much more Mark.
- 16:27Speaker 13: On 710WOR.
- 16:28Speaker 11: Well, you.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Know that Apple, the corporation Apple, yesterday with the closing
- 16:38Speaker 2: price of the stock is now above the $ 5 trillion mark. Remember?
- 16:45Speaker 2: A few years ago, there was the first company ever,
- 16:47Speaker 2: Apple's the first company ever to be worth a trillion dollars.
- 16:50Speaker 2: First trillion dollar company. Well, it just passed the $ 5
- 16:53Speaker 2: trillion mark. There's only two companies worth more than $ 5 trillion.
- 16:58Speaker 2: Apple and the other? No, it's NVIDIA. NVIDIA. Both became
- 17:05Speaker 2: the only $ 5 trillion companies in the world. We're talking
- 17:10Speaker 2: about the Plaza Hotel. So I went there yesterday, talked
- 17:14Speaker 2: to the employees. Most of them had no idea the
- 17:16Speaker 2: hotel was closing. They found out when it was in
- 17:18Speaker 2: the newspaper. Nobody warned them ahead of time. The Plaza Hotel,
- 17:21Speaker 2: the landmark Plaza Hotel, is closing, they say, for four
- 17:26Speaker 2: years for complete renovations, including the outside, the facade. That
- 17:31Speaker 2: means it'll be covered up, scaffolding. It'll be covered up
- 17:34Speaker 2: for four, five years. Part of the hotel are condos. Now,
- 17:40Speaker 2: apparently the condo owners were told months ago about this plan.
- 17:45Speaker 2: And obviously, they're not happy about it. It's a mess.
- 17:48Speaker 2: But half the condos aren't occupied. It's not the best
- 17:52Speaker 2: place to live. And a lot of people I know
- 17:55Speaker 2: that live there are not happy there. But sales were
- 17:59Speaker 2: pretty tough anyway. Like right now, there's 29 units on
- 18:01Speaker 2: the market. This is before the closing was announced. 29
- 18:05Speaker 2: units on the market. Now, with the place closed for
- 18:09Speaker 2: four years, nobody's going to buy any place there except
- 18:13Speaker 2: With it closed, and it'll look like a mess when
- 18:15Speaker 2: it's closed, it might drive the price of those apartments down.
- 18:19Speaker 2: So you might see some bottom feeders looking for something there.
- 18:23Speaker 2: The Plaza Hotel has 378 union workers. The hotel says
- 18:28Speaker 2: they'll take them back when they reopen at the same pay. Well,
- 18:33Speaker 2: what are they supposed to do for four years? The
- 18:35Speaker 2: hotel union for that hotel, Hotel and Gaming Trades Council,
- 18:39Speaker 2: says it'll try to place them elsewhere in the meantime.
- 18:43Speaker 2: And we'll see. Now, they're saying four years, but remember,
- 18:48Speaker 2: the Waldorf closed, and they said for four years. It
- 18:50Speaker 2: ended up being 10 years, so anything can happen. The
- 18:53Speaker 2: Plaza is actually owned by Qatar, the country of Qatar.
- 18:57Speaker 2: It's the Qatari Hospitality Group. They own some big hotels
- 19:02Speaker 2: around the world, Grosvenor House, the Savoy in London, Carlton
- 19:05Speaker 2: in Cannes. They have hotels in all over Europe. And
- 19:10Speaker 2: they also own the Dream Hotel, the great hotel. hotspot
- 19:13Speaker 2: downtown meatpacking district, the dream hotel. They own that as well,
- 19:17Speaker 2: but they own the, uh, Plaza and they had, I,
- 19:21Speaker 2: it looks like they want to spend some money and
- 19:23Speaker 2: totally redo it. I topped the bottom, not only all
- 19:26Speaker 2: the rooms, the lobby, everybody, everything, the outside, just completely
- 19:30Speaker 2: redo it. Now, apparently they tried to call mayor mom,
- 19:35Speaker 2: Donnie to discuss it with him. That's one thing you
- 19:37Speaker 2: do as mayor. Uh, you meet with all the top
- 19:40Speaker 2: businesses and you help them. And, uh, whatever they need,
- 19:43Speaker 2: whatever you can do to make things better for New York,
- 19:46Speaker 2: but he wouldn't return the call. Nobody at City Hall
- 19:48Speaker 2: would talk to them. Nobody. That's Mamdani in action. Also,
- 19:55Speaker 2: the other thing he's doing, he has tried to, well,
- 19:59Speaker 2: he's asked all the garages in New York City, all
- 20:03Speaker 2: the private New York City garages to refuse to allow
- 20:07Speaker 2: anyone any ICE agents or vehicles in their garages. You know,
- 20:11Speaker 2: when ICE comes to New York, they come with a
- 20:13Speaker 2: lot of vehicles. Obviously, you know, a lot of cars,
- 20:16Speaker 2: a lot of all kinds of vehicles. You got to
- 20:18Speaker 2: park them somewhere. So he's asked all parking lot owners
- 20:22Speaker 2: to block them. He said, I'm asking you to not rent, lend,
- 20:26Speaker 2: or otherwise make your property available to ICE as a
- 20:30Speaker 2: staging area. Well, this is a wiggle room in there.
- 20:34Speaker 2: I mean, just cause you're parking your vehicles there. It
- 20:36Speaker 2: doesn't mean you're staging there. Uh, mom, Donnie wrote this
- 20:40Speaker 2: in a letter to everybody. He said, make it known
- 20:44Speaker 2: that ice is not authorized to use your garages and lots.
- 20:47Speaker 2: I said, I don't know if you can get away
- 20:48Speaker 2: with that discrimination. There's a lot of lawsuits possible there.
- 20:51Speaker 2: The federal government ice, I'm sure we'll be suing the
- 20:55Speaker 2: city mom, Donnie. Also, uh, Parking garages, they're all owned
- 21:01Speaker 2: by these big parking lot companies, and most of them
- 21:05Speaker 2: do business all over the place, and they don't want
- 21:07Speaker 2: to make enemies of the federal government. ICE is federal
- 21:10Speaker 2: law enforcement, so they don't want to have a fight
- 21:12Speaker 2: with the federal government. And then a lot of the
- 21:14Speaker 2: parking lots that are used are like a Costco or
- 21:16Speaker 2: stuff like that. And if you're a big national corporation
- 21:20Speaker 2: like Costco, you don't need to get in a fight
- 21:22Speaker 2: with the Trump administration. So Mamdani Grand standing here, I
- 21:26Speaker 2: don't know if he'll be able to pull that off
- 21:28Speaker 2: for Anybody will stick to it. Obama is going to
- 21:32Speaker 2: Michigan over the weekend. He's trying to get black voters
- 21:36Speaker 2: to vote for Al-Sayed. They're generally not crazy about left-wing
- 21:42Speaker 2: kook socialist nutjobs like that. So Obama's there to help.
- 21:47Speaker 2: It shows you, you know, Al-Sayed, they keep acting like
- 21:50Speaker 2: he's just going to coast to victory. Not the case.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Not the case. Rodgers most likely will win. But they're
- 21:56Speaker 2: pulling out all the stops. AOC showed up to campaign
- 21:59Speaker 2: for him. Hillary showed up, although I don't think anybody
- 22:03Speaker 2: asked her. I think she just showed up. Obama, they're
- 22:05Speaker 2: begging him to come, and he will come and campaign for... Now,
- 22:10Speaker 2: the last time he did this, he didn't want to
- 22:12Speaker 2: look like he was campaigning just for Al-Sayed, so he
- 22:15Speaker 2: made all the other candidates show up to make it
- 22:18Speaker 2: look like it was a general Democratic rally for Michigan.
- 22:21Speaker 2: So he may do that again. Now, El-Sayed is raising
- 22:27Speaker 2: a lot of money. His father-in-law, Jukaku Tayyib, he's a
- 22:34Speaker 2: founding member of the Islamic Society of North America. He's
- 22:37Speaker 2: donated a quarter of a million dollars. He also got
- 22:41Speaker 2: a six-figure donation from current or former Council on American
- 22:45Speaker 2: Institute Relations officials. That's CAR, you know, that's C-A-I-R. Considered
- 22:51Speaker 2: a terrorist group by many, the UAE declared them a
- 22:57Speaker 2: terrorist organization. A number of countries have. They're banned as
- 23:02Speaker 2: a terrorist organization in Egypt, Iran, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia. These
- 23:07Speaker 2: are the groups now that are trying to get al-Sayed
- 23:09Speaker 2: elected to the U.S. Senate. From what I hear, people
- 23:13Speaker 2: in the U.S. Senate don't want to have to work
- 23:14Speaker 2: with this guy. They don't want him there. Remember, he
- 23:17Speaker 2: was asked about his family's ties to all the Islamic
- 23:20Speaker 2: crazy revolutionary groups, and he said, absolutely not. Well, then
- 23:27Speaker 2: they found all these texts from his sister, his mother,
- 23:31Speaker 2: and boy, he said he didn't really know his sister.
- 23:34Speaker 2: He hardly met his sister. He thinks he met her once.
- 23:36Speaker 2: He might know her. He doesn't really know her. He
- 23:38Speaker 2: said he didn't live with his mother. He had nothing
- 23:40Speaker 2: to do with his mother. It's amazing who these Democrats
- 23:45Speaker 2: nominate and the spinning around they have to do to
- 23:49Speaker 2: try to get around all this stuff. Anyway, we've got
- 23:51Speaker 2: a lot more to get to. We'll take some calls
- 23:53Speaker 2: coming up. It's Mark Simone here. It's Friday. Don't forget,
- 23:56Speaker 2: I'm here three hours now, 9 to noon every day. 710WOR.
- 24:01Speaker 11: What's better than two hours of Mark Simone?
- 24:04Speaker 13: Three.
- 24:05Speaker 11: More Mark.
- 24:06Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show. Now 9 till noon weekdays.
- 24:10Speaker 14: 710WOR.
- 24:10Speaker 11: Hey, we'll take some calls.
- 24:14Speaker 2: 800-321-0710 is the number.
- 24:14Speaker 15: Call me now.
- 24:14Speaker 14: 800-321-0710.
- 24:24Speaker 2: Uh ukraine or russia well remember we had that agreement
- 24:27Speaker 2: we agree not to strike each other's uh energy for
- 24:31Speaker 2: so well apparently the agreement is totally off uh russia
- 24:34Speaker 2: hit a power plant but uh it was really the
- 24:38Speaker 2: oil facilities we didn't want to hit because that is
- 24:40Speaker 2: what's driven up the price of diesel oil but uh
- 24:44Speaker 2: ukraine not listening at all they hit an oil refinery
- 24:48Speaker 2: in russia and strike on that let me just check
- 24:52Speaker 2: the price of oil it's probably up a little because
- 24:54Speaker 2: of that strike yeah it's up a little because they
- 24:57Speaker 2: did knock out every time you knock out an oil
- 25:00Speaker 2: facility a refinery in Russia it's going to drive the
- 25:02Speaker 2: price of diesel up President Trump has asked them to
- 25:05Speaker 2: stop apparently they're not listening anyway let's take some calls
- 25:10Speaker 2: let's go to Margaret in Rockaway Margaret how you doing.
- 25:15Speaker 16: Morning Mark thank you for taking my call um Regarding El-Said,
- 25:20Speaker 16: you know, you forget the Quran says that you're allowed
- 25:23Speaker 16: to lie to infidels. So he could just keep going
- 25:26Speaker 16: on saying he doesn't know anything and yada, yada, yada.
- 25:29Speaker 2: Well, it's perfectly believable. I don't know my sister. I
- 25:32Speaker 2: never met my mother. It sounds like a believable story.
- 25:36Speaker 2: I hardly knew. I think I met my sister once.
- 25:39Speaker 2: But it's the fake news. They believe everything. They won't
- 25:43Speaker 2: question him. Thanks for calling. Let's go to Greg in
- 25:48Speaker 2: Jersey City. Greg, how you doing?
- 25:52Speaker 17: All right. Did you see that CNN interview with the
- 25:56Speaker 17: Democratic candidate for Senate in Florida, Angie Nixon, who wants
- 26:01Speaker 17: to jail?
- 26:02Speaker 2: Do you think my life is that empty that I
- 26:05Speaker 2: would be watching a CNN interview with Angie Nixon? Nobody
- 26:09Speaker 2: saw it. It was on CNN. Who would have seen it?
- 26:11Speaker 2: How did you see it?
- 26:13Speaker 17: Well, because I saw Chris Murphy was with her in
- 26:18Speaker 17: the interview. I've got to be honest.
- 26:22Speaker 2: If I'm watching the TV and there's Chris Murphy, I
- 26:24Speaker 2: immediately change the channel. If I'm walking down the street
- 26:27Speaker 2: and there's Chris Murphy, I turn and go the other way.
- 26:29Speaker 2: He's the most reprehensible, repulsive character in the world. So
- 26:35Speaker 2: what did she say, Angie Nixon?
- 26:38Speaker 14: Oh, no.
- 26:38Speaker 17: I mean... you know, the CNN was trying to press
- 26:41Speaker 17: her on some of her statements about, you know, you know,
- 26:44Speaker 17: abolishing prison, you know, abolishing ice. And, you know, she's saying,
- 26:47Speaker 17: you know, you know, Ashley, Ashley should, she'd be put
- 26:51Speaker 17: in jail for what she said. And there was, I mean,
- 26:54Speaker 17: there's no followup obviously, but I can't believe that, um, the, the,
- 26:59Speaker 17: the DNC is even giving her any more support.
- 27:03Speaker 2: Well, yeah, they got one crazy character after another from
- 27:06Speaker 2: Al Sayad to, to this nut job in Texas to
- 27:11Speaker 2: the one in Florida. They always nominate these nuts. And, again,
- 27:14Speaker 2: it might be CNN, but they ask the question, pretend
- 27:18Speaker 2: they've gotten an answer. She doesn't answer. As you say,
- 27:22Speaker 2: no follow-up, and that's the end of it. Let's go
- 27:25Speaker 2: to Ralph in Stanford, Connecticut. Ralph, how are you doing?
- 27:30Speaker 11: Doing fine.
- 27:30Speaker 2: Good morning.
- 27:31Speaker 18: You were talking about the horses in Central Park.
- 27:34Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 27:34Speaker 18: And how they're thinking of getting.
- 27:37Speaker 3: Rid of them.
- 27:37Speaker 2: Well, they are getting rid of.
- 27:40Speaker 14: Them.
- 27:40Speaker 13: Put NYPD mounted police organization as supervisors of the care
- 27:46Speaker 13: and feeding of these animals.
- 27:48Speaker 2: The NYPD mounted police. It's a top part of the NYPD.
- 27:51Speaker 2: They got better things to do than chase these crazy
- 27:55Speaker 2: horse carriage drivers around. It's not that big a problem.
- 27:59Speaker 2: I think you should limit it. Don't allow them outside
- 28:01Speaker 2: the park. They have to stay in the park. Don't
- 28:04Speaker 2: allow them anywhere else. They should never be out in
- 28:07Speaker 2: the street where there's traffic. It's that simple. You can
- 28:10Speaker 2: gradually reduce the number. But let me just give you
- 28:14Speaker 2: those statistics again. As far as the horses in the carriage,
- 28:19Speaker 2: it's led to one death.
- 28:22Speaker 3: In 100 years.
- 28:22Speaker 2: One death in 100 years. The e-bikes, 133 deaths in
- 28:24Speaker 2: the last seven years. With the e-bikes, it's almost 20
- 28:33Speaker 2: deaths a year every year. The horse and carriage, one
- 28:38Speaker 2: death per century. So it's really the e-bikes they should
- 28:42Speaker 2: probably get rid of. Let's go to Stan in Brooklyn. Stan,
- 28:45Speaker 2: how are you doing?
- 28:46Speaker 17: Good morning, Mark.
- 28:47Speaker 18: I'm doing fine. I Googled the term lawyer and attorney.
- 28:51Speaker 2: Wow, you've got a computer now. Look at you.
- 28:53Speaker 19: Oh, my God.
- 28:54Speaker 18: It's an old one. It's an IBM Fortune 01.
- 28:57Speaker 20: It goes rather slow.
- 28:58Speaker 2: Well, we're not looking for amateur Googling to get our answers.
- 29:02Speaker 2: It doesn't work that way. It doesn't work that way.
- 29:04Speaker 2: A lawyer graduated from law school but cannot practice in court. Yeah,
- 29:09Speaker 2: we don't go by Google.
- 29:10Speaker 8: Okay, well, I also looked at another place.
- 29:13Speaker 3: Yeah, no, no, no, no.
- 29:15Speaker 2: We would only turn to a professional for this answer.
- 29:17Speaker 2: And the answer is she probably shouldn't call herself a lawyer.
- 29:20Speaker 2: You can do it technically, but you should probably.
- 29:23Speaker 8: Well, apparently a lawyer cannot.
- 29:25Speaker 2: Yeah, we understand that. You can't go into court unless
- 29:28Speaker 2: you pass the bar. And as I said before, she
- 29:31Speaker 2: was in a law firm doing complicated legal work on contracts,
- 29:35Speaker 2: which you can do with a law degree, but in
- 29:39Speaker 2: the end, a barred attorney, someone who's passed the bar,
- 29:42Speaker 2: has to kind of sign off on the whole thing.
- 29:45Speaker 2: But the problem is, try to make this look like
- 29:49Speaker 2: this is some kind of relevant issue to something. She's
- 29:51Speaker 2: not being nominated for attorney general. If you check the record,
- 29:56Speaker 2: no press secretary has ever passed the bar. I don't
- 30:00Speaker 2: think most of 99% of press secretaries have never passed
- 30:04Speaker 2: the bar. It has nothing to do with the job.
- 30:07Speaker 2: It's not a requirement. Now she was kind of misleading
- 30:11Speaker 2: when she said she was a lawyer, but you could
- 30:14Speaker 2: argue not that misleading. She did work in law firms
- 30:17Speaker 2: doing legal work and she does have a law degree. So,
- 30:20Speaker 2: and as I pointed out, there are judges on the
- 30:22Speaker 2: bench who've been confirmed by the Senate who, uh, did
- 30:28Speaker 2: go to law school, graduated with a law degree, but
- 30:31Speaker 2: have never passed the bar. So it's a silly issue.
- 30:34Speaker 2: It has nothing to do with anything. And in fact,
- 30:36Speaker 2: if that's all they got on her, a little puffing
- 30:40Speaker 2: up the resume a little, that's absolutely nothing. Again, you
- 30:44Speaker 2: don't need a law degree. You don't need to be
- 30:46Speaker 2: a pass the bar. You don't need to be an attorney.
- 30:49Speaker 2: In fact, it is never a requirement for press secretary.
- 30:53Speaker 2: It's not at all. Hey, um, I'm looking at pictures
- 30:57Speaker 2: around the White House. The ballroom is going up. I
- 31:00Speaker 2: don't know if you've noticed, but the floor is in
- 31:04Speaker 2: and some of the walls are going up. You can see,
- 31:06Speaker 2: if you look, you can sort of see what the
- 31:08Speaker 2: ballroom's looking like, the size, everything. It's well under construction.
- 31:12Speaker 2: You know, this is President Trump, master builder. If this
- 31:15Speaker 2: was the government, this would be a 20-year project to
- 31:18Speaker 2: get this built. He said he'll get it done in months.
- 31:20Speaker 2: It looks like he will. It looks like he will.
- 31:22Speaker 2: It's only a couple of months and a lot of
- 31:24Speaker 2: it has gone up already. They've raised about $ 333 million
- 31:30Speaker 2: from private donors. Apple gave $ 25 million. NVIDIA gave $ 25 million.
- 31:37Speaker 2: The Adelson family, the Las Vegas billionaires, a big donation. Yeah,
- 31:42Speaker 2: $ 25 million. Charles Egan, co-founder of Chairman of the Dish Network,
- 31:48Speaker 2: gave $ 25 million. They got $ 77 million from donors who
- 31:52Speaker 2: requested anonymously. Anonymity. A vast majority of wealthy individuals and companies. Oh, here, see,
- 32:01Speaker 2: they're trying to make it look bad. Most of these
- 32:03Speaker 2: donors have interests subject to the federal government raising concerns
- 32:08Speaker 2: about conflict of interest. This is the way the fake
- 32:10Speaker 2: news reports it. Of course, that's every donor to everything.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Every donation ever made to every politician, every president, every Democrat.
- 32:18Speaker 2: You take a look at them. Most of them are
- 32:20Speaker 2: people who are regulated by the federal government. I mean,
- 32:23Speaker 2: it's insane to think that, first of all, it's a
- 32:26Speaker 2: good donation. If you're donating to a candidate, a campaign,
- 32:29Speaker 2: a political pack, that's a little raunchy. But if you're
- 32:35Speaker 2: donating money to build a beautiful addition to the White House,
- 32:38Speaker 2: that's like a national treasure, something that will be there forever.
- 32:41Speaker 2: That's a good donation. If you're donating to restore the
- 32:44Speaker 2: Washington Monument, this ballroom would be magnificent. President Trump probably
- 32:49Speaker 2: will never use it. Because the full completion decor, everything
- 32:53Speaker 2: probably won't take place till he's out of office. But
- 32:56Speaker 2: future presidents will love it. It'll be an incredible thing
- 33:00Speaker 2: for centuries. So it's a good donation. Hey, we got
- 33:04Speaker 2: a lot to get to this morning. And don't forget,
- 33:06Speaker 2: it's three hours now, nine to noon every day, nine
- 33:09Speaker 2: to noon. And don't forget at noon, it's Buck and Clay.
- 33:12Speaker 2: You get two hosts for the price of one. Then
- 33:15Speaker 2: at 3 o'clock, Sean Hannity, the most listened to radio
- 33:18Speaker 2: show in America. Jesse Kelly at 6, the very funny.
- 33:22Speaker 2: Jimmy Fail is on every night at 9 on 710WOR.
- 33:25Speaker 2: Live from the WOR Life Fact Studios, the Mark Simone Show. Hey,
- 33:33Speaker 2: a rainy day today, but a beautiful weekend. It'll be sunny, cold,
- 33:37Speaker 2: but it'll be in the 50s, but it'll be sunny
- 33:39Speaker 2: all weekend. Just raining today and tonight and then. That
- 33:43Speaker 2: should be it for a while. Hey, we got a
- 33:44Speaker 2: lot to get to in the next hour. Don't forget,
- 33:46Speaker 2: it's three hours every day, nine to noon every day.
- 33:50Speaker 2: Or if you can't listen live, you can always get
- 33:52Speaker 2: the podcast, the show, every day's podcast, wherever you get
- 33:56Speaker 2: your podcast. So that's another way to listen. Back after
- 33:59Speaker 2: the news on 710WOR. Mark Simone. Only on 710WOR.
- 34:09Speaker 3: Well, hey, it's Friday.
- 34:10Speaker 2: That's good news. It's going to rain today off and on,
- 34:14Speaker 2: but tomorrow, Saturday, Sunday, it'll be very nice. Not warm,
- 34:18Speaker 2: not warm in the 50s, but it'll be sunny. A
- 34:22Speaker 2: lot of things to get to. This is a very
- 34:24Speaker 2: sad story, and it's Billy Joel. Billy Joel opening up
- 34:29Speaker 2: about his medical problems. Now, first of all, he can't
- 34:32Speaker 2: drive anymore. I mean, that's quite a blow to anybody,
- 34:37Speaker 2: but if you're a car guy and a motorcycle guy,
- 34:40Speaker 2: I mean, he really is into cars and motorcycles, and
- 34:44Speaker 2: he can't drive anymore. He's 77 years old because of
- 34:46Speaker 2: the brain problems and balance problems. He's been told now
- 34:51Speaker 2: he can never drive again. He auctioned off his 70 motorcycles,
- 34:57Speaker 2: and hey, Back in the good old days, remember how
- 35:03Speaker 2: many times he was in an accident, hit something, hit
- 35:06Speaker 2: a tree, drove off. So even then he wasn't the
- 35:09Speaker 2: greatest driver, but can't drive anymore. But the really sad
- 35:12Speaker 2: part is he said he's got to take a series
- 35:16Speaker 2: of tests to be 100% sure, but he's been told
- 35:18Speaker 2: he can't perform anymore. No more concerts. Now, again, he's
- 35:22Speaker 2: got to take more tests, and they'll keep treating him.
- 35:25Speaker 2: Maybe it'll get better, but as it stands now, He
- 35:28Speaker 2: will not be able to perform again. The problem is
- 35:31Speaker 2: with this brain stuff. He had a stent in the brain. Actually,
- 35:37Speaker 2: they call it a shunt in the brain. And when
- 35:41Speaker 2: you're doing a concert, besides bouncing around, I mean, you
- 35:44Speaker 2: could sit still at the piano, but you got the
- 35:49Speaker 2: most unbelievable volume right in your ear. Those speakers, the noise,
- 35:54Speaker 2: the sound is going right through your head. And in
- 35:58Speaker 2: his condition, they said it would be like getting a concussion.
- 36:02Speaker 2: So he can't perform anymore. He said, every time you
- 36:05Speaker 2: do the show, it's like you're getting a concussion. And
- 36:07Speaker 2: it didn't help in the past. And now it looks
- 36:09Speaker 2: like it's impossible. You know, that kind of music is very, very,
- 36:14Speaker 2: very loud. You know, if you've ever been to a
- 36:15Speaker 2: concert and you sat in the front row and you
- 36:18Speaker 2: can't believe how loud it is, well, go try sitting
- 36:21Speaker 2: on the stage and hear how loud it is. It's
- 36:23Speaker 2: really bad. He said he's had improvement in his memory.
- 36:28Speaker 2: balance is a little better overall his ability to function
- 36:31Speaker 2: is a little better after the recent surgery but it's
- 36:36Speaker 2: touch and go and he most likely will never perform
- 36:38Speaker 2: again he's continuing to go to physical therapy listening to
- 36:43Speaker 2: his doctors it's very sad though that he could never
- 36:45Speaker 2: perform again 77 look at McCartney 84 bouncing around on
- 36:50Speaker 2: stage world tour all over the place in good health
- 36:54Speaker 2: you never know uh hey and what was this terry
- 36:58Speaker 2: terry bradshaw said he's got to retire i you know
- 37:01Speaker 2: it looks fine to me sounds fine but obviously there
- 37:04Speaker 2: must be something going on if he says he's going
- 37:06Speaker 2: to have to step down and retire um hey elon
- 37:11Speaker 2: omar looks like they're going to get her on all
- 37:13Speaker 2: kinds of stuff now that lying about her age to
- 37:17Speaker 2: get her citizenship she had to pretend to be a
- 37:19Speaker 2: minor at the time because her father got in and
- 37:22Speaker 2: if he has minor children they can become citizens so
- 37:25Speaker 2: Looks like she altered a birth certificate. This is the allegation.
- 37:30Speaker 2: Lied about her age. And if this is all proven,
- 37:33Speaker 2: she's not a citizen anymore. She will be deported and
- 37:36Speaker 2: she can't obviously serve in Congress if she's not a citizen.
- 37:40Speaker 2: But they're captured a lot of documents there in her house.
- 37:44Speaker 2: They're looking for any ties to any of that Somalian fraud.
- 37:48Speaker 2: You know, her financial situation is quite questionable. In Congress,
- 37:52Speaker 2: you've got to fill out those financial disclosure forms. So
- 37:55Speaker 2: one year she was worth $ 30 million, she and her husband.
- 37:57Speaker 2: $ 30 million, the next year $ 300, 000 because she got a
- 38:02Speaker 2: lot of flack over the $ 30 million. But they got
- 38:04Speaker 2: all those documents. Let's see if they can find something there. Hey,
- 38:07Speaker 2: it turns out that in the Biden administration, Homeland Security
- 38:11Speaker 2: got tipped off that she had fudged her birth date
- 38:15Speaker 2: on documents and on a birth certificate. The Biden administration
- 38:19Speaker 2: apparently was tipped off to this. And, of course, immediately
- 38:24Speaker 2: did nothing. Absolutely nothing about it. All right. Kimberly Guilfoyle,
- 38:31Speaker 2: as you know, leaving as ambassador of Greece. There were
- 38:35Speaker 2: reports that she was very rough on the staff. The
- 38:39Speaker 2: Trump administration didn't like that. And then there was taking
- 38:44Speaker 2: free plane rides from billionaires and private jets. Well, you know,
- 38:47Speaker 2: that's every politician. That happens all the time. But it
- 38:52Speaker 2: looks like she was– the allegation is that she was
- 38:55Speaker 2: selling influence, telling people, you know, I'll get you– I
- 38:58Speaker 2: can add a lot of influence. I'll get you what
- 38:59Speaker 2: you need from the Trump administration. You're not supposed to
- 39:02Speaker 2: do that. And then, of course, the final straw was
- 39:04Speaker 2: this donor who says she asked him to pay her
- 39:09Speaker 2: $ 100, 000 American Express bill and pushed him to do it. Now,
- 39:14Speaker 2: here's the other part. Now, listen to this. You know,
- 39:17Speaker 2: she used to be at Fox News. She was a
- 39:19Speaker 2: big deal at Fox News for a while. She was
- 39:21Speaker 2: one of the five, and that's the most watched show
- 39:24Speaker 2: in cable television. And then all of a sudden she
- 39:27Speaker 2: was gone. There were always stories there. about her being
- 39:30Speaker 2: a little rough on the staff. But Kennedy, who's still
- 39:34Speaker 2: at Fox News, you know Kennedy, writes in the Daily Mail,
- 39:38Speaker 2: I don't know why she would write all this, but
- 39:40Speaker 2: Kennedy writes that while Guilfoyle was at Fox News, she
- 39:45Speaker 2: showed her, Kennedy, and some other friends, pictures that she
- 39:51Speaker 2: had of men of their, shall we just say penis,
- 39:56Speaker 2: penis pictures, or as they're known out there in the world,
- 39:59Speaker 2: dick pics. She would show them off to people. Now,
- 40:04Speaker 2: there are guys that send these out. And if you're
- 40:06Speaker 2: a guy and you're listening to me, listen to me carefully.
- 40:10Speaker 2: Don't ever send a woman one of those pictures. Women
- 40:13Speaker 2: find them disgusting. If you're a man and a woman
- 40:16Speaker 2: sent you naked pictures, body parts, you get all excited. Women,
- 40:21Speaker 2: it's the opposite. They get all turned off by that.
- 40:24Speaker 2: It doesn't do anything. Do not send one of those
- 40:26Speaker 2: pictures ever to anybody. You want to get a woman
- 40:30Speaker 2: really turned on? Send her a picture of you with
- 40:32Speaker 2: a dog, something like that. That will do the trick.
- 40:35Speaker 2: Do not send those dick pics. And how would you
- 40:39Speaker 2: even take one of those? You know, if I got
- 40:42Speaker 2: to take a selfie of my face, I get all self-conscious.
- 40:44Speaker 2: How the hell would you take one of those? But
- 40:46Speaker 2: now listen to this. Here's the interesting part. According to Kennedy,
- 40:51Speaker 2: now I know women that have showed those pictures often.
- 40:53Speaker 2: According to Kennedy, she not only showed the dick pic,
- 40:58Speaker 2: but she had pictures of the man's credit card front
- 41:02Speaker 2: and back. Now, if it was a black American Express card,
- 41:06Speaker 2: you know, that's a real high roller. But apparently she had,
- 41:10Speaker 2: for a couple of different men, she had pictures of
- 41:14Speaker 2: their credit card matched with the dick pic. Now, that
- 41:21Speaker 2: I've never heard of. And how do you get a
- 41:23Speaker 2: picture of the man's credit card? Does he send it
- 41:27Speaker 2: to you? I can't imagine that. Do you like alone
- 41:31Speaker 2: in his house and you take the credit card out
- 41:33Speaker 2: and photograph the front and back? I don't know. But
- 41:35Speaker 2: this is pretty sick stuff. This is real sick stuff. Now,
- 41:38Speaker 2: I don't know why she would print all this, but
- 41:40Speaker 2: this is Kennedy writing this in the Daily Mail. So far,
- 41:44Speaker 2: no response from Kimberly Guilfoyle. Kennedy goes on to say,
- 41:51Speaker 2: Kimberly talked about sex so cavalierly that she made Samantha
- 41:56Speaker 2: from Sex and the City seem like Greta Thunberg. All right.
- 42:02Speaker 3: All right.
- 42:03Speaker 2: Again, no response yet. Kamala Harris speaking out. Now criticizing
- 42:11Speaker 2: the Biden administration for not acting more forcefully against Israel.
- 42:17Speaker 2: Can you imagine this? Kamala Harris saying they weren't tough
- 42:20Speaker 2: enough on Israel. Now she's going the anti-Semite route. She
- 42:24Speaker 2: said they failed to use U.S. leverage to curb Israel's
- 42:28Speaker 2: military campaign in Gaza. They should have done more. They
- 42:31Speaker 2: should have acted more forcefully. They should have used leverage
- 42:34Speaker 2: to stop Israel. So apparently Kamala thinks that's the road
- 42:38Speaker 2: to the White House. Go anti-Semite. Go anti-Israel. Hey, as
- 42:43Speaker 2: far as Iran... There's two things. Now, there's nothing going
- 42:47Speaker 2: on in Iran. There's no war at the moment. It's
- 42:50Speaker 2: been on hold for about six weeks. Nothing's happened in
- 42:53Speaker 2: a month. But remember, we have the midterms in 18 days.
- 42:59Speaker 2: Midterm elections 18 days away. The other thing you got
- 43:01Speaker 2: to remember is Bibi Netanyahu is up for re-election around
- 43:04Speaker 2: the same time. So you got these two elections happening,
- 43:08Speaker 2: the midterms here in America and Netanyahu's election in Israel.
- 43:12Speaker 2: It's not certain. that Netanyahu will get elected. There's a
- 43:17Speaker 2: lot of opposition to him. And, you know, there are
- 43:21Speaker 2: a lot of Israeli citizens that are living in the
- 43:23Speaker 2: United States. Israel is calling on them all to fly
- 43:26Speaker 2: back and vote, especially the ones Netanyahu wants the Israeli
- 43:31Speaker 2: citizens here in the U.S. that support him to run
- 43:34Speaker 2: back and vote. A lot of people have dual citizenship,
- 43:37Speaker 2: but they want the Israeli citizens to go back to
- 43:41Speaker 2: Israel just to vote for Netanyahu. I don't know if
- 43:44Speaker 2: they're doing it, but there are a lot of anti-Netanyahu
- 43:48Speaker 2: Israeli citizens who are flying back just to vote against him.
- 43:51Speaker 2: So we'll see. But once these two elections are over,
- 43:57Speaker 2: no matter which way they go, once the midterms are over,
- 44:00Speaker 2: once Netanyahu's election is over, even if they both lose,
- 44:04Speaker 2: then they're free to do whatever the hell they want.
- 44:06Speaker 2: And it's expected that after both elections are over, the
- 44:10Speaker 2: war in Iran will not just resume but we'll go crazy.
- 44:15Speaker 2: I mean, we will apparently just annihilate the entire government
- 44:20Speaker 2: of Iran. We're even talking about using those MOABs, the
- 44:25Speaker 2: mother of all bombs. It's the biggest bomb, just short
- 44:28Speaker 2: of a nuclear weapon. Netanyahu would probably be turned loose
- 44:32Speaker 2: to take out everything bad in Iran. And the president
- 44:38Speaker 2: here in the United States has apparently asked for the
- 44:41Speaker 2: war planners to draw up what they call target packages
- 44:46Speaker 2: that will be hit with those Moab bombs, so that
- 44:49Speaker 2: could be coming. Now, here's the scariest thing. This is
- 44:53Speaker 2: much scarier than that. Hillary Clinton is now doing a podcast.
- 44:58Speaker 2: Everybody in the world has a podcast. Your dentist has
- 45:02Speaker 2: a podcast. Everybody has a podcast, but the problem with
- 45:06Speaker 2: a podcast, if you're not a professional, is you've got
- 45:09Speaker 2: to fill an hour. Now, most people get a guest
- 45:12Speaker 2: because most people can't do a show by themselves. They
- 45:14Speaker 2: have to have a guest. There's some shows that got
- 45:16Speaker 2: to have 27 guests because they can't do the show.
- 45:19Speaker 2: If you just said, Hey, it's you for an hour,
- 45:21Speaker 2: do the show. They couldn't do 10 minutes. They got
- 45:23Speaker 2: to have a guest every, every second of their podcast. So, um,
- 45:30Speaker 2: the problem is Hillary has got to keep talking about
- 45:33Speaker 2: stuff and she's like an episode two and already running
- 45:36Speaker 2: out of stuff. So she started talking about, do you
- 45:39Speaker 2: remember in 2016, 10 years ago, There was the big
- 45:42Speaker 2: ceremony for 9-11 at the memorial, the 9-11 ceremony, where
- 45:49Speaker 2: all the presidents came. Everybody was there. And do you
- 45:53Speaker 2: remember that Hillary passed out right there at the ceremony? Now,
- 45:58Speaker 2: you got all the presidents there. You got all the
- 46:00Speaker 2: security in the world. They have an ambulance there. They
- 46:03Speaker 2: have doctors there. They have military. They have everything there.
- 46:07Speaker 2: So she just passed out. And she's trying to explain that.
- 46:13Speaker 2: She said, well, I had pneumonia and I was supposed
- 46:16Speaker 2: to be, it was during the campaign. They told me
- 46:19Speaker 2: to rest because of my pneumonia, but I didn't rest.
- 46:22Speaker 2: I went to the ceremony and that's why I passed out.
- 46:24Speaker 2: It was absolutely nothing. Here's the only problem with that story.
- 46:30Speaker 2: I remember talking to top, top, top, top police officials
- 46:33Speaker 2: who were there and saw this whole thing. And when
- 46:36Speaker 2: she passed out, Her guys just picked her up, threw
- 46:40Speaker 2: her in the car, and drove away. Now, you got
- 46:43Speaker 2: an ambulance there. You got doctors there. You got EMTs there.
- 46:48Speaker 2: And they all offered, but they weren't interested. If that
- 46:51Speaker 2: were the case, if it was so unexpected that she
- 46:54Speaker 2: passed out, wouldn't you have let the doctors take a
- 46:55Speaker 2: look at her? The fact that they just picked her
- 46:59Speaker 2: up and threw her in the car, police officials thought
- 47:02Speaker 2: this was not unusual for them. They'd seen this before.
- 47:05Speaker 2: They weren't worried about it. Like she's been having episodes before.
- 47:09Speaker 2: So who knows? But avoid this podcast. It's deadly, deadly,
- 47:15Speaker 2: painfully boring. You remember the Michelle Obama podcast? Oh, that
- 47:19Speaker 2: was really painful trying to get through that. Hey, now
- 47:25Speaker 2: a lot of people looking at Jack Smith, that creepy, weirdo,
- 47:28Speaker 2: bug-eyed hitman, Jack Smith. Apparently, forget the stuff he did
- 47:33Speaker 2: to the president or the raid on Mar-a-Lago. Apparently, they
- 47:37Speaker 2: want a real serious investigation and possible prosecution of him
- 47:43Speaker 2: for collecting an obscene amount of data on private citizens.
- 47:49Speaker 2: Aside from Trump, he went after anything Republican, conservative. He
- 47:53Speaker 2: went after every group. He went after donors, almost 5,000 donors.
- 47:59Speaker 2: He collected their checks. He went after all their personal data.
- 48:04Speaker 2: That's unbelievable. 5,000 donors. For what reason? How could you
- 48:08Speaker 2: justify that? The fact that somebody made a political donation
- 48:12Speaker 2: means you're going to investigate them, collect all their private data.
- 48:17Speaker 2: So they're not done with Jack Smith. Jack Smith could
- 48:20Speaker 2: end up in real trouble as a result. Hey, we'll
- 48:23Speaker 2: take some calls next. 800-321-0710 is the number. Give me
- 48:26Speaker 2: a call, especially if you're a new caller.
- 48:28Speaker 14: 800- 321-0710.
- 48:32Speaker 2: Get instant.
- 48:37Speaker 1: Access to Mark by setting a preset in the iHeartRadio
- 48:40Speaker 1: app for his live.
- 48:41Speaker 11: Show and his podcast. Now back to the Mark Simone
- 48:45Speaker 11: Show on WOR.
- 48:47Speaker 2: Hey, what's going on here? There's open lines. I got
- 48:51Speaker 2: a few open lines. Call me.
- 48:53Speaker 14: 800-321-0710. 800-321-0710.
- 48:53Speaker 2: Let's go to Let's go to Steve in Lindhurst. Steve,
- 49:03Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 49:05Speaker 13: Hey, Mike. How you doing?
- 49:06Speaker 2: Good to talk to you.
- 49:08Speaker 13: So remember when they fired all those people for COVID,
- 49:12Speaker 13: that black lady on TV, she was a teacher and
- 49:15Speaker 13: Kathy Hochul fired her. Bruce Blakeman should put her on TV,
- 49:19Speaker 13: and everybody else who was fired didn't get their jobs back.
- 49:23Speaker 2: All right. Yeah, that's a good point. She did the
- 49:26Speaker 2: handling of that whole pandemic, although, really, it was Cuomo
- 49:29Speaker 2: at the time that was the governor. Well, it was
- 49:32Speaker 2: the Democrats, so, you know. Yeah, so it wasn't Hochul, but...
- 49:35Speaker 2: But thanks for calling. No matter what you do, you
- 49:37Speaker 2: could run a million commercials. Everybody always, you know what
- 49:40Speaker 2: you should have done? Why don't you do this? You
- 49:42Speaker 2: should have done this. You can't do everything. You can't
- 49:44Speaker 2: do everything. Hey, by the way, Blakeman fundraising apparently is
- 49:49Speaker 2: through the roof since the debate. We'll get to that
- 49:53Speaker 2: coming up. Let's go to David in Queens. David, how
- 49:56Speaker 2: you doing?
- 49:58Speaker 14: Hey, Mark.
- 49:59Speaker 2: Good morning.
- 49:59Speaker 21: Mark, have you noticed these local politicians have altered their
- 50:03Speaker 21: method of dress? in order to appeal to the communists.
- 50:06Speaker 21: For instance, State Senator John Liu goes walking around with
- 50:10Speaker 21: these Havana shirts on to different events that Cuomo used
- 50:14Speaker 21: to wear. And this Jumaane Williams wears these beads that
- 50:17Speaker 21: my grandmother used to wear when she came over for
- 50:20Speaker 21: Sunday dinner.
- 50:21Speaker 22: I wonder if you noticed this, Mark.
- 50:22Speaker 2: Yeah, some of them do do that. Yeah, you're right.
- 50:25Speaker 2: Cuomo did that. He wore, it was the shirt Fredo
- 50:29Speaker 2: wore in the Havana scene in The Godfather. It was
- 50:32Speaker 2: the shirt Lalo Salamanca wore in Breaking Bad, that weird
- 50:37Speaker 2: summer shirt. Let's go to John in Hell's Kitchen. John,
- 50:42Speaker 2: how are you doing? Hello, Mark.
- 50:43Speaker 22: How are you?
- 50:44Speaker 2: Good.
- 50:46Speaker 19: I was wondering, since you're a guy that knows really
- 50:49Speaker 19: good restaurants, what would be the top five restaurants in
- 50:55Speaker 19: New York?
- 50:55Speaker 2: Oh, you can't do that. It's a hundred-way tie. There
- 50:57Speaker 2: are no top five. I mean, technically. Technically, the number
- 51:00Speaker 2: one would be per se, LaBernadine. Mazza, but you don't
- 51:06Speaker 2: want to eat there.
- 51:07Speaker 19: What about one that would be reasonable? You don't have
- 51:11Speaker 19: to mortgage your left leg or something.
- 51:14Speaker 2: There's a million great restaurants. Let's just look around. Let's
- 51:18Speaker 2: look around this block where we are. Oh, up there,
- 51:21Speaker 2: 7th Avenue, Trattoria dell'Arte. Very fine restaurant.
- 51:25Speaker 19: Okay, okay, okay. See, that's the one near Carnegie Hall.
- 51:29Speaker 2: Right across from Carnegie Hall. That's a great restaurant, Italian restaurant.
- 51:33Speaker 19: Okay, because I know you're always talking about restaurants and stuff,
- 51:37Speaker 19: and I don't know, now that I'm getting older, I
- 51:41Speaker 19: remember restaurants from, you know, Gino's. Remember Gino's?
- 51:46Speaker 2: Yeah, Gino's was okay. It was okay.
- 51:49Speaker 19: You didn't like Gino's?
- 51:50Speaker 2: It was like a really old, old, old school Italian.
- 51:54Speaker 2: You had to pay cash, right?
- 51:56Speaker 19: Yeah, the food was good, though.
- 51:58Speaker 2: It was good. It was good. Trattoria Del Arte, right
- 52:00Speaker 2: up the block. It's much better.
- 52:01Speaker 19: All right.
- 52:02Speaker 2: Much better. Much better. Let's go to Greg in Florida. Greg,
- 52:05Speaker 2: how are you doing?
- 52:07Speaker 8: Good morning, Mark.
- 52:08Speaker 3: How are you?
- 52:08Speaker 2: I'm good.
- 52:09Speaker 8: All right, good.
- 52:11Speaker 18: All right.
- 52:12Speaker 8: Yesterday you said something about the kids being involved with
- 52:15Speaker 8: their phones and everything else and whatnot. Recently I saw
- 52:19Speaker 8: a child psychologist on that. on TV, and she was
- 52:24Speaker 8: all worried about scaring the children at Halloween and all
- 52:28Speaker 8: of this stuff. And then I thought about it, and
- 52:29Speaker 8: I said, you know, this all started with Dr. Spock
- 52:32Speaker 8: years ago. These kids are way, way, way too soft.
- 52:37Speaker 8: We grew up, you know, drinking water out of hoses,
- 52:40Speaker 8: riding bikes without helmets. You know what I'm saying? This
- 52:43Speaker 8: is just, you know, coddling these kids.
- 52:46Speaker 13: What do you think?
- 52:47Speaker 2: Well, that's true. But remember, when you were a kid...
- 52:50Speaker 2: No helmet, drinking out of hoses. Your parents told you
- 52:53Speaker 2: you were soft. You hadn't been through the depression. You
- 52:55Speaker 2: didn't know what it was like. They were always doing that.
- 52:59Speaker 2: So every generation, this generation when they get old will
- 53:02Speaker 2: think their kids are soft. Hey, by the way, you know,
- 53:05Speaker 2: I have dry eye. So I go to the eye doctor.
- 53:08Speaker 2: Everybody has dry eye, you know, which means you got
- 53:11Speaker 2: to put eye drops in all the time. You probably
- 53:12Speaker 2: had this. So I've been talking to all these eye doctors.
- 53:15Speaker 2: Apparently it's caused by the phone, by your iPhone. Because
- 53:18Speaker 2: you're looking at your phone for many hours a day.
- 53:20Speaker 2: And apparently when you don't look at the phone, you
- 53:23Speaker 2: don't blink. You just stare at it and don't blink.
- 53:27Speaker 2: And not blinking causes the dry eye. So I've been
- 53:31Speaker 2: teaching myself when I look at the phone to keep
- 53:33Speaker 2: blinking all the time. Just blink a lot. You're always
- 53:36Speaker 2: looking at your phone or computer screen. Blink every few seconds.
- 53:41Speaker 2: Just blink a lot. It gets rid of the dry eye.
- 53:44Speaker 2: You'll save yourself a fortune on all those eye drops.
- 53:47Speaker 2: Let's go to Sandy in New Jersey. Sandy, how are
- 53:50Speaker 2: you doing?
- 53:51Speaker 14: Fine.
- 53:51Speaker 10: How are you doing, Mark?
- 53:52Speaker 2: Oh, I'm good.
- 53:52Speaker 10: I'm good.
- 53:52Speaker 2: You've got to slow down a little. I'm still half asleep.
- 53:55Speaker 2: I'm not used to being up this early, but go ahead.
- 53:58Speaker 14: I know.
- 53:58Speaker 10: I know that you're kind of like, oh, go another hour. Anyway,
- 54:02Speaker 10: the reason I called is I'm just reading in the
- 54:04Speaker 10: New York Times.
- 54:04Speaker 2: You always talk this fast. It's very fast. How does
- 54:06Speaker 2: anybody keep up with you?
- 54:08Speaker 10: Okay, I'll slow down. I said I was just reading.
- 54:11Speaker 2: Yeah, you were just reading.
- 54:13Speaker 10: I'm talking fast again?
- 54:15Speaker 2: You're a little fast. Slow down a little.
- 54:16Speaker 10: Yeah, I know. I always talk fast.
- 54:18Speaker 2: How many cups of coffee did you have today?
- 54:20Speaker 10: I've only started my first cup.
- 54:21Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 54:23Speaker 14: Okay.
- 54:24Speaker 10: Anyway, I said I was just reading in the New
- 54:26Speaker 10: York Post that I'm a registered voter in the 17th
- 54:31Speaker 10: District in New York State, Mike Lawler's district. And apparently
- 54:35Speaker 10: there was a meeting, like all the candidates did, And
- 54:37Speaker 10: Kay Conley was there, and she said, agreed that Kathy
- 54:42Speaker 10: Hochul needs to go. Kay Conley is the Democratic candidate.
- 54:46Speaker 2: Well, yeah, but you've got to remember, a lot of
- 54:47Speaker 2: these Democratic socialists, the real left-wingers, hate Hochul.
- 54:51Speaker 15: They don't trust her.
- 54:51Speaker 10: Yeah, I know, but I don't think Kay Conley is
- 54:53Speaker 10: a socialist. She's kind of like is keeping a low profile.
- 54:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, but the left-wing, the real Democrats hate
- 54:58Speaker 2: Kathy Hochul. They just think she's a bird brain.
- 55:00Speaker 10: Yeah, so what do you think? You think Bruce Blakeman's.
- 55:02Speaker 20: Got a shot at it?
- 55:03Speaker 2: No, I think he's got a big shot at it.
- 55:05Speaker 2: I think he's going to win. You see how much
- 55:07Speaker 2: better you sound slow?
- 55:10Speaker 10: Well, I think I'm also a little nervous.
- 55:11Speaker 2: Oh, don't be nervous.
- 55:14Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 55:14Speaker 10: But this is, like I said, I listen to you
- 55:16Speaker 10: every morning. And I just really like listening to your show.
- 55:20Speaker 10: You're really great. And, you know, catch you on TV
- 55:22Speaker 10: when you do.
- 55:23Speaker 2: You got TV now. Look at this.
- 55:25Speaker 10: Wow.
- 55:26Speaker 22: All right.
- 55:27Speaker 2: Well, thanks for calling. Call us again. Let's go to
- 55:29Speaker 2: Chris in Bethpage. Chris, how you doing? Hey, Mark, love
- 55:33Speaker 2: your show.
- 55:35Speaker 14: Listen, all kidding aside, say the Dems win the House, okay,
- 55:41Speaker 14: and the Republicans retain the Senate, okay? And everyone's predicting
- 55:46Speaker 14: all they're going to do is just put Trump through impeachment.
- 55:49Speaker 14: There's going to be all these hearings. But seriously, what
- 55:53Speaker 14: is their plan? Does anyone know? To bring down gas prices.
- 55:57Speaker 14: And what are they going to do?
- 55:57Speaker 2: Well, they don't want to bring it. No, no. Democrats
- 56:00Speaker 2: always bring them up. They like to bring them up.
- 56:01Speaker 2: In fact, if it were up to the Democrats, it
- 56:03Speaker 2: would be $ 10 a gallon because they want to push
- 56:05Speaker 2: everybody to electric cars. They always get the gas prices
- 56:08Speaker 2: as high as they can get them.
- 56:10Speaker 14: Always. But they're running on affordability. They're running on affordability.
- 56:14Speaker 2: I know.
- 56:14Speaker 14: How are they going to make things more affordable?
- 56:16Speaker 2: They're not. They're not. It's the last thing they want
- 56:18Speaker 2: to do. No, they never do that. I know. They'll
- 56:20Speaker 2: run on whatever sounds good. They run on whatever you
- 56:22Speaker 2: want to hear. And then when they get in office,
- 56:24Speaker 2: they go right back to the regular Democratic plan, which
- 56:26Speaker 2: is green energy, gets you to stop driving gas cars,
- 56:31Speaker 2: get you to stop using gas. And again, with Democrats,
- 56:35Speaker 2: it's always $ 10 a gallon. That's always their goal. Hey,
- 56:38Speaker 2: coming up next, we have a great guest. Anybody have
- 56:42Speaker 2: any idea who it is? Do we have a guest? Oh,
- 56:46Speaker 2: you're kidding. Oh, okay. See, it really is a great guest.
- 56:49Speaker 2: It's Howie Carr. Somebody canceled that we were like scrambling
- 56:53Speaker 2: for another guest. The great Howie Carr will be with
- 56:55Speaker 2: us next on 710WOR.
- 56:59Speaker 11: The Mark Simone Show. Nine till noon weekdays.
- 57:04Speaker 2: 710WOR. Well, one of the great talk show hosts in America,
- 57:09Speaker 2: Howie Carr. You should listen to him. He's on iHeart.
- 57:12Speaker 2: You can get his show there, his podcast. You get
- 57:14Speaker 2: his books. His latest book is Mass Corruption, Volume 2.
- 57:18Speaker 2: You can get everything at his website. Just go to HowieCarrShow.com. HowieCarrShow.com.
- 57:25Speaker 2: Howie Carr, how are you doing?
- 57:28Speaker 3: Very good, Mark. We just had our final debate in
- 57:31Speaker 3: Massachusetts for Governor Mara Healy versus Mike Minogue. And, you know,
- 57:36Speaker 3: she bragged four years ago about how she stopped two
- 57:39Speaker 3: natural gas pipelines. And last night she did everything but
- 57:43Speaker 3: put on a 10-gallon cowboy hat and speak in a,
- 57:45Speaker 3: you know, like T. Boone Pickens accent. She said about
- 57:49Speaker 3: eight times how much she loved natural gas and wants
- 57:52Speaker 3: to bring it into the state. I don't know when
- 57:54Speaker 3: she was lying. Last night or in 2022 when she
- 57:57Speaker 3: was bragging about stopping the natural gas pipelines. But, you know,
- 58:01Speaker 3: there's been a lot of that going around nationwide, hasn't there? People,
- 58:05Speaker 3: Democrats kind of backing away from their previous positions.
- 58:09Speaker 2: Well, you know, like somebody was just saying, they're running
- 58:11Speaker 2: on affordability, these Democrats. You know when they get in,
- 58:14Speaker 2: they're going to drive the price of gas up and
- 58:15Speaker 2: nothing's going to be affordable. So they'll just say anything
- 58:19Speaker 2: to get elected.
- 58:20Speaker 3: I thought they were happy that they were saying it's
- 58:23Speaker 3: not a big deal. When, when Biden had the price
- 58:26Speaker 3: of a gallon of gasoline up higher than it is now,
- 58:31Speaker 3: four years ago, over $ 5 a gallon, that was a,
- 58:34Speaker 3: it was a good thing because it was going to
- 58:35Speaker 3: get all the MAGA people in the deplorables out of
- 58:37Speaker 3: their nasty fossil fuel, internal combustion motor vehicles. Right. I mean,
- 58:43Speaker 3: it was a good thing. Now it's, now it's the
- 58:45Speaker 3: end of the world. Yeah.
- 58:46Speaker 2: But the, the, They'll say whatever they got to say.
- 58:50Speaker 2: But when they get in office, they'll close down refineries,
- 58:52Speaker 2: shut down pipelines, stop drilling. They'll do everything to drive
- 58:55Speaker 2: the price of gas up. But, hey, this great candidate
- 59:00Speaker 2: we have for governor, Bruce Blakeman, he had a great
- 59:02Speaker 2: debate against Hochul. If he wins New York, what does
- 59:06Speaker 2: that mean for the Democrats to lose the Democrats? state
- 59:10Speaker 2: house of New York state?
- 59:13Speaker 3: Well, for one thing, I mean, it would mean that
- 59:16Speaker 3: they couldn't get any more of these nutty bills through.
- 59:18Speaker 3: I mean, he could veto them, right? I mean, theoretically,
- 59:21Speaker 3: I mean, they could override the veto. But I mean,
- 59:25Speaker 3: Things didn't really get out of control in New York
- 59:27Speaker 3: State until they lost control of the Senate. Americans, taxpayers,
- 59:34Speaker 3: needed to have one control, a lever, whether it was
- 59:39Speaker 3: the Assembly or the Senate or the governorship. And then
- 59:42Speaker 3: when they lost all of them, that's when everything went insane.
- 59:46Speaker 3: They got to get one of them back. Don't you
- 59:48Speaker 3: think if it were like 2004, 2008, whatever– you know,
- 59:54Speaker 3: whatever Pataki was elected. If you had that same electorate today,
- 59:59Speaker 3: Blakeman would be running away with it, wouldn't he?
- 1:00:01Speaker 22: Yeah.
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: So, but what happened to the electorate? Same thing in Massachusetts.
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly. See, I asked everywhere in the Northeast. It's,
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: it's just, it's totally gone. You know, I, I, I
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: had Susan Collins on for Maine, you know, cause I'm
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: up in, I'm up at Maine, all those stations. And
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: I had her on, I think, uh, you know, three,
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: four weeks ago in, in Maine. And, And she said
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: until McCormick was elected in Pennsylvania in 2024, it wasn't
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: just New England. There was no Republican senators other than
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: her in the whole Northeast. You had to go down
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: to like North Carolina or West Virginia to find somebody.
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: So explain this to me again. What happened to New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine?
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: They all became left wing. Where did all these Democrats
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: come from up there?
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: Well, I think they.
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: I think they came from New York is mostly what happened.
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: Come on, let's be honest. They may knock off the
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: Rhino governor of Vermont this year. They got some blow-in
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: from parts unknown, these women. And she's going to knock
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: off Phil Scott. I mean, it's not a terrible tragedy
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: for the Republican Party. He was a COVID autocrat or totalitarian. But,
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: you know, still, I mean, I'm sure, you know, as
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: bad as he is, he's better than whatever she will be.
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: I don't know. I mean, I think people have just
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: fled the states. You know, it is about affordability. That
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: was a big thing in the governor's race, governor's debate
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: last night in Massachusetts. In the first debate, Mara Healy had,
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: you know, had a, you know, she'd committed a gaffe,
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: you know, random, inadvertently telling the truth. She said, Massachusetts
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: is a great state to live in if you can
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: afford it.
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: So, hey, Howie Carr, your protege, Caroline Leavitt, became the
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: press secretary. She's very young. I mean, just a kid
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: and was fine. What a great job she did. Now
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: you've got a 41-year-old woman, Katie Zakaria, who looks so shaky.
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: What do you think her future is? I don't know.
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: I mean, you know, I remember Stephanie Grisham, that woman
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: that never had a press conference. I met her one
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: time over here in West Palm Beach, and she was terrible.
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: You know, this woman is going to be better than
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: Stephanie Grisham for sure. But, you know, I noticed, though, again,
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: the double standard here is amazing that, you know, she's
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: getting all this crap. She went to law school, but
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: she never could pass the bar exam. And, you know,
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: and I'm not defending her for saying that she was, she,
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: you know, claiming to be a lawyer, but, but how
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: is this any different than the Egyptian in El Said in, in,
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: in Michigan, you know, saying over and over again that
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: he was a physician. He's, he's not a physician. He
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: went to medical school, but he never passed the, the,
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: the medical exam. And he's, and he, You know, as
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: Roger said, if he tried to prescribe you medication, he'd
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: be arrested. But, you know, they just look the other way. Oh, well,
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: he did go to medical school. You know what, Zachary,
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: she did go to law school. You know, and plenty
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: of these Democrats, didn't Hillary Clinton flunk the bar exam once?
- 1:03:25Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: I know our former governor, Deval Patrick, our former lieutenant governor,
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: Tim Burke, a lot. I think Democrats have a much
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: higher rate of failure of the bar exam than Republicans.
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: Zachariah is just trying to catch up the Republicans. That's all.
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: Hey, but she was a little shaky, but it was
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: too quick. She was only there like one day and
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: did a briefing. You should have given her a week
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: or two to prepare.
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: Well, you know, she, she also, you know, despite being
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: older than, than Caroline, I mean, you know, Caroline did
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: go through a baptism of fire. I mean, they, they spent,
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: $ 20 million when she was running for Congress. First, uh,
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: first the Republicans, you know, uh, with a speaker McCarthy
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: and his guys tried to knock her out of the primary.
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: And then Chris Pappas spent another 10 million knocking her around. And, uh,
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: you know, she, she, you know, you, you, uh, you know,
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: she had a lot of scars. She, she was a
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: veteran of political combat despite her tender age.
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: Well, that's, that's a good point. She got through a campaign,
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: a debate. Oh yeah. That's a good point. That's good training.
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: So you're down in Palm Beach. The president is coming
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: there tonight. It'll be his first weekend in Palm Beach
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: for the season. What do you think?
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: Oh, that's great. I didn't even know that. That means
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: the planes will be flying directly over my pool starting
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: tomorrow morning. They direct them. I mean, Mar-a-Lago is still
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: not open until Halloween, so he's going to. to be
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: there by himself. I mean, I'm sure the kitchen will
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: be open for him and all that, but the big
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: dining room is not open until the end of the month.
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: Oh, but tomorrow night, apparently, or actually, I think it's tonight,
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: or tomorrow night, they're having this big dinner, big RNC
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: dinner there, so it'll be open for that. But Mar-a-Lago,
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: it's the best when it's not open, because then you
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: don't have all those old ladies chasing them around the room.
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: You know, that, how are you, that crowd chasing them around.
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: Yeah, no, it's pretty nice down here. It's easier to
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: get a reservation. You don't have to worry about being
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: run over as you're crossing the street by some 90-year-old
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: who came down on a private jet and then an
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: ambulance from the airport over the Donald J. Trump airport
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: to the island.
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: So, yeah, apparently there are a lot of left-wingers who actually,
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: they have to go to Palm Beach, but they'll fly
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: to another airport. They'll go to Fort Lauderdale in Miami.
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: They will not land at anything called Donald J. Trump Airport.
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: I've heard those rumors, Mark. I hope it's true because,
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: you know, I always like less congestion at the airport,
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: you know, especially those kind of people that are going
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: to be angry about that. Those are not the kind
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: of people you want to deal with under any circumstances.
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: Well, Howie Carr, always great. He's got a new book out,
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: Mass Corruption 2. Tell everybody about the book because there's
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: a lot of great stuff in there.
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: Right. It's about corruption in Massachusetts, and there's a lot
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: of it, and it continues to go on. It was, again,
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: the subject of the debate. One of the governor's top
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: aides was arrested shipping 18 pounds of cocaine to her
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: office in Springfield. I've got all that stuff. Right now,
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: I'm off Amazon. It's a long, complicated story.
- 1:06:43Speaker 14: No.
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: But you can order the book at HowieCarrShow.com. And you
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: get an autographed copy. Just order it. It's a good book.
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: Mass Corruption Volume 2 or Mass Corruption Volume 1. And
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: you can get the Kennedy Babylon books about the Kennedy
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: family if you wanted some nostalgia. Some Democrat scandal nostalgia. Kennedy,
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: those are my books. HowieCarrShow.com. Click on store.
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: Yeah, the Kennedy books are excellent. And if you're looking
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: for some holiday gifts... Get those books. They're great. HowieCarrShow.com.
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: And you can also, besides the books, you can get
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: a show, his podcast. Everything is at the website. Howie
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: Carr Show. The iHeart app.
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: The iHeart app. I'm on the iHeart app starting 2
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: to 6 every afternoon.
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: Yeah. And you can listen anytime, too. You can get
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: the podcast. Just go to the iHeart app. But check
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: out the website. You can get the books there. HowieCarrShow.com.
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: Howie Carr, thanks for being with us.
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: Thanks, Mark. Have a good weekend. Bye-bye. Take care.
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: And don't forget, coming up at noon, Buck Saxon, Clay Travis.
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: That's a great show every day. And then the most
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: listened to radio show in America, Sean Hannity did that
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: tough interview last night with Katie Zakaria. And then at
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: six o'clock, you got Jesse Kelly, the very funny Jimmy
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: Fallon show. Take a listen to this. It's funny. It's interesting.
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: It's every night, nine to midnight. On 710WOR.
- 1:08:06Speaker 11: The Mark Simone Show. Live from the WOR LifeVac studios.
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: Hey, we got a lot to get to. One more
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: hour to go. It's three hours every day now. Nine
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: to noon every day. Right here on 710WOR. Mr. New York.
- 1:08:24Speaker 11: Mark Simone.
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: Now three hours every weekday from nine till noon.
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: On 710WOR.
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: Well, hey, it's the third and final hour. Remember, it's
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: three hours every day, nine to noon, three hours every day.
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: So Bruce Blakeman had the debate Tuesday night versus Kathy Hochul.
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: He was phenomenal in the debate. He just crushed her
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: in the debate. Now, if you're a crazy Democrat, you'll
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: think Hochul won, but normal people don't think she won.
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: It was bad. In fact, a fundraising has been up
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: dramatically since the debate. Money is pouring in. People were
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: very impressed. Now, Kathy Hochul started with a huge war chest,
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: about $ 35 million, and she did not take matching funds,
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: public matching funds, So she's not obligated to debate. She
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: turned down all the major debates, Channel 2, Channel 4,
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: Channel 5, Channel 7, Channel 9. She refused all these debates.
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: She agreed to one. This is what Democrats do when
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: they're really scared. They'll agree only to New York one
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: because it's tiny. Nobody sees New York one. And it's
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: very biased, very left wing. You'll notice their moderators kept
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: cutting Blakeman off every time he was getting a good point.
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: We have to move on.
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: We have to move on. We have to move on.
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: Why do you have to move on? You can take
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: all the time you want. It's New York One. You
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: don't really have much of a schedule. You could do
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: whatever you want. And then they do those yes or
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: no gotcha questions. So when you try to answer the question,
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: try to really give some substance, they'll jump in. It's
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: a yes or no question. Just one word, yes or no.
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: We can't let you talk. One of those kind of debates.
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: But Blakeman fundraising, very, very big. Mamdani has jumped into
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: the race actively now. Mamdani now has a commercial, a video.
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: TV commercials don't mean much of anything anymore. You want
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: to reach people, you do it online, social media videos.
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: Mamdani has put out his attack video on Blakeman.
- 1:10:34Speaker 12: Governor Kathy Hochul actually fights for working families in New York.
- 1:10:37Speaker 12: When Bruce was busy, or actually, Bruce wasn't that busy,
- 1:10:40Speaker 12: Governor Hochul was helping us close a $ 12 billion budget
- 1:10:43Speaker 12: deficit here in New York City. And when New York
- 1:10:45Speaker 12: City needed a partner in delivering free universal childcare, Governor
- 1:10:48Speaker 12: Hochul didn't just help us deliver 2,000 new seats for
- 1:10:50Speaker 12: two-year-olds this year. She worked with us so we could
- 1:10:53Speaker 12: deliver 10,000 more seats next January. That's why I'm voting
- 1:10:56Speaker 12: for Governor Hochul, because she's the real deal for New Yorkers.
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: Bruce Blakeman? He's a bad apple. Okay, now, analyze that.
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: What do they accuse Blakeman of? They did a hell
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: of a lot of opposition research. What do they accuse
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: him of? He's not there? Well, that's ridiculous. The guy
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: works day and night. I mean, I know this for
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: a fact. He's got a schedule that's like 6 a.m.
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: to midnight. He just works and works and works, not
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: to mention crisscrossing the state, not to mention going to
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: every event of importance that he needs to be at.
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: So it's a false accusation. If they have to lie,
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: that's quite a compliment to Blakeman. And this childcare, daycare,
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: I think there's something they're not telling you about with
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: this daycare. The same thing with Mamdani and his daycare
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: here in the city. When it comes to this daycare,
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: you know it's only until about 2 p.m. The idea
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: of the daycare is you can put your kid there
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: if you're a, single parent, or you don't have anybody
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: to stay home, or both parents are working, you have
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: daycare to put the child in. Well, it's only till
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: 2 p.m. Do you know anybody who has a job
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: that ends at 2 p.m.? Not you guys. I'm talking
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: about normal office work. Yeah, most people work 9 to
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: 5 or more. So what is the point of the
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: daycare if it's only till 2 p.m.? And by the way,
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: It's not there in the summer. It's only in the
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: school year. So if you're working, there's no daycare for you.
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: So Mamdani never quite pointing that out to people. Blakeman
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: looks real good now. He's got money pouring in left
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: and right. Last night, there was a huge fundraiser for
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: Blakeman at Madison Square Garden. James Dolan, a garden owner,
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: hosted this big fundraiser. So there'll be a ton of money.
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: for Blakeman to spend 18 days until the election, just
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: 18 days, two and a half weeks. And that's where
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: it really counts, you know, all the money and everything.
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: That's where you want to blitz in the last couple
- 1:13:04Speaker 2: of weeks. So it'll be quite a finish. Now, remember,
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: Blakeman has this pattern. You saw it in Long Island
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: in his two elections. He starts off way behind. He's 15,
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: 20 points behind. And then he's 10 points behind. Then
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: he's five points behind. Then he's caught up. And then
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: he always wins. So you'll see him most likely win
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: in 18 days. President Trump, he's got an AI director now.
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: Do you remember our U.S. attorney here, Jay Clayton? He
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: was a fine U.S.
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: Attorney.
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: He was a really good guy, very smart guy. Everybody
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: likes Jay Clayton. So President Trump made him the director
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: of national intelligence. That's a huge job in Washington. And
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: before he was the U.S. attorney here, he had quite
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: a resume. He was the head of the SEC. He's
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: done a lot of stuff. So he's the national intelligence director. Now,
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: President Trump also just appointed him AI czar. He's the
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: AI czar. And the president has asked him, he's given
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: him 120 days to come back and report on the
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: pros and cons of AI. And Clayton will oversee a
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: super intelligence task force. which is being formed to put
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: all the smartest people on it, make sure the leaders
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: in AI, they're calling it superintelligence, and that the interest
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: of the American people are put first. Clayton predicted that
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: over time there will be stronger mechanisms to mitigate risks
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: and identify opportunities with AI. Task force not fully formed.
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: On it will definitely be J.D. Vance, Scott Besson, Pete Hegsiff,
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: Deputy Chief of Staff Richard Waters, former AI czar David Sachs. So,
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: you know, you've got to remember the important part of
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: this is if it's true that AI is so powerful
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: it could take over the whole world, well, then it's
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: absolutely essential that we be in the lead, not China,
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: that we not let China get control of it. If
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: it's that deadly, if it's that powerful, We can't let
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: China have control of it. We got to stay way
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: ahead of them. So that's the reason to keep going. Now,
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: remember with the data centers, all the problems are slowly
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: but surely going away. The electricity problem is being solved.
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: They can use different things to solve that. The water problem,
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: they've learned how to recycle the water. The only problem,
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: the noise, the awful noise from those turbines that make
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: it impossible to live within a half mile, even a
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: mile of a data center. Well, Elon Musk is working
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: on a new type of turbine that will cut down
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: the noise and the vibration. The size, the massive size
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: of the data centers, well, they're going to start to
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: get smaller. You've got to remember it's the same thing
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: with the computer. If you go back to the 70s,
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: a computer was enormous. It was the size of a
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: football field, an IBM computer. Now, this little iPhone in
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: my hand is more powerful than that thing. So they'll
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: get the data centers smaller and smaller and smaller. And
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: speaking of Jay Clayton, remember we mentioned yesterday, Susie Wiles,
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: the chief of staff, White House chief of staff, is
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: most likely on her way out. The president looking at
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: removing her as chief of staff. Now, she's been quite
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: a part of his campaign. And in the four years
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: he was out of office, she came in, organized things,
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: ran things, helped keep that campaign right on track. Who
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: knows what would have happened without her? And she's been great.
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: But there's friction there.
- 1:16:48Speaker 3: There's problems.
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: Her daughter is apparently running around making money off the
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: Trump administration overseas. And they don't like some of that.
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: There's things they don't like. But I know he's been
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: asking everybody about removing her, getting opinions from everybody. And
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: there's talk of who would replace her. Stephen Miller is
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: on the list. Randy Levine, New York Yankee president. President
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: Trump loves him. Very smart guy. Steve Witkoff. But you
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: know who's now on the list? Jay Clayton. He's come
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: to really love and respect and trust Jay Clayton. So
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: he's the director of national security. He's the AI czar,
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: but now being looked at as possibly the next chief
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: of staff for the White House. Hey, Tiger Woods is
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: working on, this is a new thing now. He's going
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: to build golf courses with gated communities around them. This
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: is what you do when you get old in golf.
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: First thing is you go on the senior tour. Instead
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: of the regular PGA Tour, you're on the senior tour.
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: And then when you're getting really old, you can't even
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: play on the senior tour. You become a, well, it's
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: actually a bunch of real estate developers and builders. They
- 1:18:03Speaker 2: do all the stuff. They hire you to pretend you're
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: the guy. And they build golf courses. There's a Jack
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: Nicklaus golf course everywhere. The Jack Nicklaus Golf Course with
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: resorts and houses all around the golf course. Real estate
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: developers do this. So apparently Tiger Woods is getting into
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: this business. Blue Jack Ranch is the follow-up to Blue
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: Jack National. This is the name I guess they're using.
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: And their golf course is designed by Tiger Woods. They're
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: private clubs, gated communities with homes starting at a million
- 1:18:34Speaker 2: dollars around them. And really nice homes. Here's a Actually,
- 1:18:41Speaker 2: they're spending about $ 3 billion on this whole deal. So
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: Tiger Woods will get a huge chunk of that, but
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: some of the homes on there, but 20,000 square foot mansion,
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: pretty good looking stuff. But that's what Tiger's up to now. Now,
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: a lot of people be coming to New York now. It's,
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: what's the date today? October 16th. All right, it's going
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: to start right after Halloween, the tourist season. We get
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: a lot of them in the summer. But it really
- 1:19:10Speaker 2: gets bad in November and December. They come here for Thanksgiving.
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: They come here for the parade. They come here for
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: the tree. We have a lot of listeners around the country.
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: You know, when you talk to somebody around the country
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: and they'll talk about the New York, oh, I'd love
- 1:19:25Speaker 2: to come see the tree. This is a big deal.
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: They'll actually come here, spend thousands of dollars staying here
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: to go look at this tree. The tree's right over there.
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: It's like six blocks away. We walk by this thing
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: every day. It's nice, but it's just a tree. It's
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: a big Christmas. You know, actually, if you go around
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: New York, there's a lot of better Christmas trees with
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: better decorations on them than the Rockefeller Center one. Now,
- 1:19:48Speaker 2: the other things that go to Radio City, the Rockettes,
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: the Radio City Rockettes say it'll be a different type
- 1:19:54Speaker 2: of show this year. It'll be more high-tech. AI's taking
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: over there. It's the 101st birthday of the Rockettes. The
- 1:20:05Speaker 2: technology gets better and better every year. You know now,
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: They have microphones in their shoes. Their tap shoes also
- 1:20:13Speaker 2: have microphones in them. So you can hear the taps.
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: They're actually all mic'd up. There's new overhead cameras. It'll
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: show you the precision. There's all sorts of new technology
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: innovation coming in. But they say it'll be a darker
- 1:20:27Speaker 2: show this year. Darker, moodier. Who the hell wants that?
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: Why would you want the Rockettes to get darker and moodier?
- 1:20:34Speaker 2: It's supposed to be a fun type show. New data.
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: New study coming out. Marriage, less and less and less
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: and less. Fewer than 25% of households with children have
- 1:20:48Speaker 2: married couples in them. You know, it used to be
- 1:20:51Speaker 2: a long time ago, if your parents were divorced and
- 1:20:55Speaker 2: you were a kid that you went to school, you know,
- 1:20:57Speaker 2: they would tease you about your parents being divorced. That
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: was a problem. Now, if you go to school and
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: your parents aren't divorced, you get teased about that. Everybody's divorced.
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: It's highly unusual for a kid to go to school
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: and have both parents living with them. In fact, it
- 1:21:13Speaker 2: looks like, here's one city, only 13% of kids have
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: married parents. Only 13%. But overall, the whole country, it's 25%.
- 1:21:25Speaker 2: Only 25% of kids have married parents. Now, it's different
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: in the suburbs. It's a higher rate out in the suburbs.
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: A lot less in the cities. But one major city,
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: it's only 13%. Hey, remember, it was a week ago,
- 1:21:41Speaker 2: Saturday Night Live, Shane Gillis did the monologue where he
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: did those jokes about women dressing really trashy in the gym,
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: how they look like whores or whatever. So everybody's been
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: trying to cancel him. The crazy left-wingers have been trying
- 1:21:55Speaker 2: to bring back cancel culture and cancel him for being misogynist.
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: It's not working, though. Nothing's happened so far. People are
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: defending him. Even Travis Kelsey came out to defend him.
- 1:22:07Speaker 2: Other comedians coming out to defend him. So it was
- 1:22:10Speaker 2: an attempt to bring back cancel culture. And it looks
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: like a week later it is failing and will fail.
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: So that's good news. Hey, we'll take some calls next.
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: 800-321-0710 is the number. Give us a call, especially if
- 1:22:25Speaker 2: you're a new caller. We always like to hear from
- 1:22:27Speaker 2: new callers. The number is 800-321-0710.
- 1:22:31Speaker 3: 800-321-0710. 800-321-0710.
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: Reset on the iHeartRadio.
- 1:22:38Speaker 11: App to WOR to hear Mark live.
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: Set another for Mark's podcast to hear him anytime.
- 1:22:45Speaker 11: Now back to Mark Simone on WOR.
- 1:22:50Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. 800-321-0710 is the number. Let's
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: go to Jamie in New Jersey. Jamie, how you doing?
- 1:23:00Speaker 13: Hey, Mark.
- 1:23:00Speaker 20: Great show as always. I was going to tell you
- 1:23:03Speaker 20: two things. The first thing is, you know, the Libs
- 1:23:07Speaker 20: keep forgetting that it took JFK Jr. like three or
- 1:23:10Speaker 20: four times to pass the flag.
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: Well, it was three times, and the third time his
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: mother had to make some special arrangements for him to pass.
- 1:23:18Speaker 20: Oh, was that the West?
- 1:23:21Speaker 2: Yeah. Listen, he was a friend of mine. He was
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: a nice guy. He was not the brightest guy in
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: the world.
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:23:28Speaker 20: And the second thing is, did you ever really think about, like,
- 1:23:32Speaker 20: penning a biography or something? Because between, you know, knowing, like,
- 1:23:37Speaker 20: Sinatra and, you know, all the … Well.
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: I actually have about 12 book deals I've had through
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: the years, but I can never force myself to sit
- 1:23:47Speaker 2: down and start writing. I know, I got to do it.
- 1:23:50Speaker 2: I got to do it.
- 1:23:51Speaker 20: I mean, it would just be incredible. I mean, the
- 1:23:54Speaker 20: people that you've known.
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: All right, let's calm down. It won't be war and peace,
- 1:23:57Speaker 2: but you're right. I should do it. I should do it.
- 1:23:59Speaker 2: I got to force myself.
- 1:24:00Speaker 20: You know, it definitely would be some great reading. And again,
- 1:24:04Speaker 20: you know, it's just, it would be something to look
- 1:24:08Speaker 20: forward to.
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: All right, thanks. I'll start working on it. I'll start
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: sitting down and actually writing. Let's go to John in Bayville. John,
- 1:24:16Speaker 2: how are you doing?
- 1:24:18Speaker 10: Okay, Mark.
- 1:24:19Speaker 20: How are you?
- 1:24:19Speaker 2: Good. What are you, in the trunk of a car?
- 1:24:22Speaker 18: I'm in my car.
- 1:24:23Speaker 22: I'm driving.
- 1:24:23Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 1:24:26Speaker 18: My question to you, has anybody in all our presidents
- 1:24:30Speaker 18: in Congress ever decided to come out with an amendment
- 1:24:33Speaker 18: against having non-born or people born abroad running for office,
- 1:24:39Speaker 18: any office in our country?
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: Well, people People have talked about it. Nobody's proposed it. Yeah,
- 1:24:45Speaker 2: the problem is there's a lot of people in Congress
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: that weren't born in the United States. You've got to
- 1:24:51Speaker 2: be born in the United States to be president. We
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: can understand that because you're leading. You might be leading
- 1:24:58Speaker 2: us in a war or something. But banning people that
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: weren't born in the country from even running for Congress,
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:25:07Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:25:09Speaker 2: That's stretching it a bit. Let's go to, uh, Nick
- 1:25:13Speaker 2: in Mount Vernon. Nick, how you doing?
- 1:25:15Speaker 13: Good, Mark.
- 1:25:16Speaker 3: Good. Love your show.
- 1:25:18Speaker 2: Thanks.
- 1:25:18Speaker 22: What's the story with daylight saving time? Is he going
- 1:25:21Speaker 22: to eliminate it?
- 1:25:22Speaker 2: Yeah, probably. It's not going to happen this time. Cause
- 1:25:24Speaker 2: like in two weeks, you got to set your clock, uh,
- 1:25:27Speaker 2: back an hour, but, uh, it got knocked out. Um,
- 1:25:32Speaker 2: the almost got it done, but there were a couple
- 1:25:35Speaker 2: of States opposing it. One was, it was at Arkansas where, uh,
- 1:25:40Speaker 2: So the problem is a time zone is big. Like
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: if you're in New York and it's getting dark at
- 1:25:49Speaker 2: six o'clock, if you're all the way at the end
- 1:25:52Speaker 2: of the time zone, like in Michigan, it's not getting
- 1:25:55Speaker 2: dark till seven o'clock. There's a one hour difference from
- 1:25:58Speaker 2: the beginning of the time zone to the end as
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: far as the darkness and the daylight. So the problem is,
- 1:26:04Speaker 2: I think the state was Arkansas. They're at the end
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: of a time zone. They're on the cusp of a
- 1:26:09Speaker 2: time zone. So it would stay dark here till about 730. Well,
- 1:26:14Speaker 2: in that state in the winter, it'll stay dark till 830.
- 1:26:18Speaker 2: So they pretty much blocked it. Well, we'll get this
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: permanent daylight saving time. Not in time for this year,
- 1:26:23Speaker 2: but we'll get it eventually. Let's go to Pam in
- 1:26:25Speaker 2: New Jersey. Pam, how you doing?
- 1:26:28Speaker 10: Hi.
- 1:26:29Speaker 23: You asked how did New England become so liberal? It's
- 1:26:33Speaker 23: Started a lot of the time, not totally, but during
- 1:26:37Speaker 23: the Vietnam War when liberal artists went up there on
- 1:26:40Speaker 23: their way to Canada. But some of them stopped short
- 1:26:43Speaker 23: and went out in the woods and did their art
- 1:26:45Speaker 23: thing and formed enclaves of liberalism. There's still enclaves in Canada, too,
- 1:26:51Speaker 23: of these groups.
- 1:26:53Speaker 2: Yeah, that was the beginning, the liberals moving up there.
- 1:26:56Speaker 2: But then it really sped up in the 70s, 80s,
- 1:26:58Speaker 2: like a lot of.
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: New Yorkers, Brooklynites, Bernie Sanders, all those people, they went
- 1:27:04Speaker 2: up to Vermont and they took over the whole state.
- 1:27:06Speaker 2: The old Vermont guard didn't know what the hell hit
- 1:27:08Speaker 2: him when these tough guys from Brooklyn came and took over.
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: But it's been happening everywhere. Maine, especially during the pandemic,
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: a lot of the left-wingers, real left-wingers out of Massachusetts,
- 1:27:20Speaker 2: all during that pandemic were moving up to Maine. Doesn't
- 1:27:23Speaker 2: take a lot of people to change the demographic makeup.
- 1:27:26Speaker 2: Maine's got a small population and they did change it.
- 1:27:30Speaker 2: Let's go to Bob in Florida. Bob, how are you doing?
- 1:27:33Speaker 2: I'm hanging in there.
- 1:27:34Speaker 3: You know, I'm day-to-day mostly, but I'm calling about the
- 1:27:37Speaker 3: horse carriage caper.
- 1:27:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:27:40Speaker 13: But how it relates to the fake news being.
- 1:27:45Speaker 15: Like, off the charts.
- 1:27:47Speaker 17: With every story that would appeal to some, you know,
- 1:27:51Speaker 17: left-wing group.
- 1:27:52Speaker 15: Yeah, it's just cheap virtue signaling.
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: It's cheap virtue signaling. The problem, a death caused by
- 1:27:58Speaker 2: the horse and carriage is one. in 100 years, death
- 1:28:02Speaker 2: by e-bikes, 133 in seven years. Just seven years.
- 1:28:06Speaker 13: Yeah, with Oscar Belgal and Mayor Mondami demanding that ICE
- 1:28:12Speaker 13: be removed from the city.
- 1:28:13Speaker 3: Oh, come on. All he's trying to do is.
- 1:28:15Speaker 2: No, it's another good point. Listen, these shootings are awful
- 1:28:19Speaker 2: when they happen. ICE has had three of these shootings,
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: but that's out of 600,000 arrests. That's a pretty good
- 1:28:26Speaker 2: track record, 600,000 arrests. And only three had problems like that.
- 1:28:31Speaker 2: Let's go to Vincent in Brooklyn. Vincent, how are you doing?
- 1:28:35Speaker 22: Good morning, Mark. Mark, I'm okay. Mayor Mondami's always grousing
- 1:28:39Speaker 22: and complaining about the cost of daycare. Well, hello, Mondami.
- 1:28:44Speaker 22: Years ago, it wasn't necessary for two people in a family,
- 1:28:49Speaker 22: the husband and the wife, to go out and work.
- 1:28:52Speaker 22: It's only because your ilk, Mondami, Kathy Hochul, and all
- 1:28:58Speaker 22: of the Democrats in the city legislature and the state legislature,
- 1:29:02Speaker 22: because when I was a kid... My mother only worked
- 1:29:06Speaker 22: four hours a day. My mother was a cook in
- 1:29:08Speaker 22: an Italian restaurant that had largely a lunch trade. So
- 1:29:13Speaker 22: after we went off to school, my mother went to
- 1:29:16Speaker 22: work in the kitchen and everything. And before school let
- 1:29:19Speaker 22: out at 2.30, a quarter to 3.00, my mother was
- 1:29:24Speaker 22: pretty much finished. It was only because of, over the years,
- 1:29:28Speaker 22: the cost of living, mainly the taxes, the fees, and
- 1:29:32Speaker 22: the regulations going up, that where it made it necessary
- 1:29:37Speaker 22: for two people in a family to have to work.
- 1:29:41Speaker 22: That's on you, Democrats. That's on you, Mondami. But on
- 1:29:45Speaker 22: a lighter note, Mark, you were speaking about great Christmas trees.
- 1:29:50Speaker 22: Everybody listen to this.
- 1:29:51Speaker 2: All right, we only got a few seconds. Go ahead.
- 1:29:53Speaker 22: At the end of Montague Street on Brooklyn Heights, right
- 1:29:57Speaker 22: where the promenade begins, right before Thanksgiving, they set up
- 1:30:02Speaker 22: a massive, beautiful Christmas tree. And on one side is
- 1:30:06Speaker 22: the house where Linda Blair did the exorcist. But right
- 1:30:10Speaker 22: beyond it, still in view, is the lower harbor all
- 1:30:13Speaker 22: lit up. It's beautiful.
- 1:30:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I've seen it. Really nice. Well, Vincent, great call.
- 1:30:18Speaker 2: Thanks for calling. Hey, when we come back, one of
- 1:30:20Speaker 2: the best pollsters around, Matt Towery, he's got a great
- 1:30:24Speaker 2: new book out. So we'll get some insight into the
- 1:30:27Speaker 2: upcoming election. And also, this is a fascinating book about
- 1:30:31Speaker 2: the mirages created by liberal media, liberal colleges. It's fascinating stuff.
- 1:30:37Speaker 2: We'll get to that next on 710WOR. Welcome back to
- 1:30:41Speaker 2: The Mark Simone Show.
- 1:30:43Speaker 11: Live from the WOR LifeVac studios.
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: Well, Matt Towery is one of the great pollsters in America.
- 1:30:52Speaker 2: I mean, a real pollster, not those fake polls you
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: see publicly. But Matt Towery, great pollster. But he's got
- 1:30:58Speaker 2: a book out that's very important we want you to read.
- 1:31:00Speaker 2: The new book is called The Mirage Machine. And it's
- 1:31:04Speaker 2: all about how this whole fake media academic government complex
- 1:31:09Speaker 2: got started and what it's doing. And we'll get to
- 1:31:11Speaker 2: that with the great Matt Towery. Matt, how you doing?
- 1:31:15Speaker 15: Mark, so happy to be with you. And let everybody
- 1:31:18Speaker 15: know the first part of that title is the honoring
- 1:31:21Speaker 15: of ignorance, the honoring of ignorance. And let me tell you,
- 1:31:24Speaker 15: we've got more honoring of ignorance going on in this
- 1:31:26Speaker 15: election season than I can count. And I'm so happy
- 1:31:29Speaker 15: to have a chance to sort of share my thoughts
- 1:31:31Speaker 15: with your with your listeners today.
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll get to the book in a second. Let
- 1:31:34Speaker 2: me just ask you, it's 18 days till the midterms.
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: What's going to happen? How does it look right now?
- 1:31:39Speaker 15: You know, we get this every time, Mark. You're so
- 1:31:42Speaker 15: used to it. We get these polls that come out
- 1:31:44Speaker 15: and show the Democrats are always way ahead and the
- 1:31:47Speaker 15: Republicans are way down. And then somebody like a Nate
- 1:31:50Speaker 15: Silver or 538 before they shuttered that bunch comes out
- 1:31:53Speaker 15: and says, oh, it's over. You know, give up. And
- 1:31:56Speaker 15: then all of a sudden, the Republicans, you know it.
- 1:31:59Speaker 15: And so all of a sudden, the Republicans start to
- 1:32:01Speaker 15: inch their way back in. And now all of a sudden,
- 1:32:04Speaker 15: people are nervous. And I'll tell you a reason they are.
- 1:32:07Speaker 15: they're nervous because there is a massive turnout of older voters.
- 1:32:11Speaker 15: Like I've never seen before. I've been polling for 26 years.
- 1:32:14Speaker 15: I've been in politics forever and I have never seen
- 1:32:17Speaker 15: seniors voting at the level they are now. In fact,
- 1:32:20Speaker 15: in Georgia, which is my bellwether state, because it could
- 1:32:22Speaker 15: go 50, 50, either way in Georgia, 80% of the
- 1:32:26Speaker 15: votes in early votes as of yesterday, we're 55 and
- 1:32:30Speaker 15: over and they vote Republican.
- 1:32:31Speaker 13: Wow.
- 1:32:33Speaker 15: And isn't that something?
- 1:32:34Speaker 2: Yeah. Um, So the fake polls that are supposed to
- 1:32:38Speaker 2: discourage people, the fake news trying to convince Republicans to
- 1:32:41Speaker 2: stay home, it's not working? Is that what we're saying?
- 1:32:45Speaker 15: Yeah, it never has worked. You know, I predicted Trump
- 1:32:48Speaker 15: would win in 2016. Everybody thought it was crazy. In 2020,
- 1:32:52Speaker 15: you know, we knew that Trump was, you know, with
- 1:32:56Speaker 15: the pandemic.
- 1:32:56Speaker 3: It really hurt him.
- 1:32:57Speaker 15: But he did very well. He didn't win, at least
- 1:33:01Speaker 15: by the count. but he was much closer than the
- 1:33:05Speaker 15: pollsters had it. In 2024, they all said he was
- 1:33:08Speaker 15: going to lose that also, and he beat Harris handily.
- 1:33:12Speaker 15: So I think we're looking at another one of these
- 1:33:14Speaker 15: mirage machines where what they do is the media harps
- 1:33:17Speaker 15: on a certain issue. This time it's gas prices. They
- 1:33:20Speaker 15: don't tell anybody that gas prices were just as high
- 1:33:22Speaker 15: under Joe Biden and that inflation was 8.5% versus 3.7% now.
- 1:33:28Speaker 15: You don't hear that, do you?
- 1:33:29Speaker 3: No.
- 1:33:30Speaker 15: They keep that from us, and instead- They want to
- 1:33:33Speaker 15: focus on the one thing that makes everybody feel like
- 1:33:35Speaker 15: they're so miserable and they're not doing well. And I
- 1:33:38Speaker 15: don't think the public's buying it.
- 1:33:40Speaker 20: Yeah.
- 1:33:40Speaker 2: So a lot of criticism of the Republicans didn't do
- 1:33:44Speaker 2: the right messaging. They didn't get their message out. What
- 1:33:47Speaker 2: did they do wrong, if anything?
- 1:33:50Speaker 15: Well, I think the only thing they could have done,
- 1:33:52Speaker 15: which I wish they had, is to leapfrog over this
- 1:33:57Speaker 15: biased mirage machine media. and put out ads earlier letting
- 1:34:03Speaker 15: people know that we have the lowest unemployment since the
- 1:34:06Speaker 15: 1960s the economy is expanding the GDP is up that
- 1:34:11Speaker 15: we have more disposable income because of the tax cuts
- 1:34:15Speaker 15: and that more people were traveling during labor day this
- 1:34:17Speaker 15: last holiday we had more people flew and drove than
- 1:34:21Speaker 15: any other time in the history of our country does
- 1:34:22Speaker 15: that sound like a country that's in recession no and
- 1:34:26Speaker 15: I think that message could have gotten out there sooner
- 1:34:28Speaker 15: but boy, Donald Trump, he is working his rear end off,
- 1:34:31Speaker 15: going everywhere he can, because turnout is what midterms are about,
- 1:34:35Speaker 15: and he is turning people out to the polls.
- 1:34:38Speaker 2: All right, Matt Towery, but here's the problem, which brings
- 1:34:40Speaker 2: us to your book, The Honoring of Ignorance, this mirage machine.
- 1:34:44Speaker 2: What you're talking about is the media, the pollsters, academia, everything,
- 1:34:49Speaker 2: creating these mirages. Explain how the book came about.
- 1:34:54Speaker 15: Oh, it's funny, Mark. I was at the University of
- 1:34:57Speaker 15: Georgia I dropped out to work for a guy named
- 1:35:00Speaker 15: Newt Gingrich and another guy named Mack Mattingly. Gingrich was
- 1:35:03Speaker 15: in his first term in Congress and Mattingly was running
- 1:35:06Speaker 15: for the U.S. Senate. He got elected. I went to D.C.
- 1:35:09Speaker 15: So I left Georgia and ended up at Cambridge University
- 1:35:12Speaker 15: in England, which is where I took my degree. When
- 1:35:14Speaker 15: I was there, I started working on a book called
- 1:35:16Speaker 15: The Honoring of Ignorance. I got a literary agent, Ann Elmo,
- 1:35:20Speaker 15: who's well known. She's passed away since then. And they
- 1:35:23Speaker 15: pitched the book to all these publishers. They all said,
- 1:35:25Speaker 15: we love it, but he's too young to say this.
- 1:35:28Speaker 15: And now I'm 67 years old, and I'm afraid people
- 1:35:30Speaker 15: are going to say he's too old.
- 1:35:31Speaker 22: To say this.
- 1:35:33Speaker 15: But it's still the same thesis. It's just changed a
- 1:35:36Speaker 15: lot with the Internet and with cable television and all
- 1:35:39Speaker 15: the things that have happened since 40 years ago. And
- 1:35:42Speaker 15: we have one big mirage machine. Basically, we have a
- 1:35:46Speaker 15: media that they exclude. things. They make sure you don't
- 1:35:51Speaker 15: see things that are possible about President Trump. They make
- 1:35:54Speaker 15: sure they harp on the things that are negative. They
- 1:35:56Speaker 15: then get the pollsters go out there and tell you, boy,
- 1:35:58Speaker 15: he is so unpopular. And then they get the fact
- 1:36:00Speaker 15: checkers who come and fact check them and say, oh,
- 1:36:02Speaker 15: everything they're saying is right. Why did a fact check
- 1:36:06Speaker 15: our polling company? And it was Snopes. And the woman
- 1:36:10Speaker 15: who wrote it, she said, we don't know anything about
- 1:36:11Speaker 15: this polling firm, and we can't vouch for whether they're credible.
- 1:36:15Speaker 15: You know that we polled for the Fox affiliates around
- 1:36:18Speaker 15: the country, owned and operated for like eight, ten years
- 1:36:22Speaker 15: for Politico, for Newsmax, anybody you can think of. Yet
- 1:36:27Speaker 15: somehow she couldn't find out anything about us. So she
- 1:36:29Speaker 15: wrote this terrible review. Great fact checker, huh?
- 1:36:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:36:34Speaker 2: So here's the problem. Obviously, you got, you know, the
- 1:36:37Speaker 2: universities are all left wing indoctrination camps. But then the
- 1:36:42Speaker 2: news media goes total fake news. The fact-checkers got totally corrupted.
- 1:36:48Speaker 2: They're all left-wing, slanted people running these fact-checking sites, which
- 1:36:53Speaker 2: is what you call the mirage machine. But what on
- 1:36:56Speaker 2: earth can you do about it? Is it too late?
- 1:36:59Speaker 15: Well, there are two things. I say at the conclusion
- 1:37:01Speaker 15: of the book that we're going to go one of
- 1:37:02Speaker 15: two directions. We're either going to end up with a
- 1:37:05Speaker 15: country where the blue states have compacts with one another
- 1:37:08Speaker 15: and they have their own laws they follow and the
- 1:37:10Speaker 15: red states do the same with their own states. Or
- 1:37:14Speaker 15: we're going to learn as conservatives or Republicans, people just
- 1:37:18Speaker 15: want to get the truth out, to start every week
- 1:37:21Speaker 15: putting ads out to say in case you've missed it.
- 1:37:24Speaker 15: And don't quote the conservative stuff by itself. Quote NBC
- 1:37:29Speaker 15: News and CNN because they actually have to put up
- 1:37:31Speaker 15: this good news of what Trump is doing, but they
- 1:37:34Speaker 15: try to hide it. So instead of hiding it, get
- 1:37:37Speaker 15: it out there so the public is not so ill-informed.
- 1:37:42Speaker 15: going into an election. That's the most critical thing, I think,
- 1:37:45Speaker 15: advice I would give the Republicans and conservatives going into
- 1:37:48Speaker 15: the future.
- 1:37:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:37:50Speaker 2: It's a great book. You should get this new book.
- 1:37:52Speaker 2: It's called The Honoring of Ignorance. It's all about the
- 1:37:55Speaker 2: mirage machine. It's Matt Towery, The Honoring of Ignorance. So
- 1:38:00Speaker 2: if you're a young guy and you just got out
- 1:38:02Speaker 2: of college, you've been totally indoctrinated into the left, you're
- 1:38:05Speaker 2: watching left-wing crazy media, reading left-wing fact-checkers, is that how
- 1:38:09Speaker 2: it's now possible for Really nutty candidates, Mamdani or El-Sayed
- 1:38:14Speaker 2: to be elected. Is that how that happened?
- 1:38:17Speaker 15: That's exactly what has happened. We've had a whole generation
- 1:38:22Speaker 15: of people who went to school where, for example, with socialism,
- 1:38:25Speaker 15: one of the reasons that the seniors are turning out
- 1:38:27Speaker 15: like they are is because they remember the old Soviet Union.
- 1:38:30Speaker 15: They know what Cuba was about. They saw the fall
- 1:38:33Speaker 15: of communism in Eastern Europe. They're not taught about this
- 1:38:37Speaker 15: stuff now, both in secondary schools and at universities. They're
- 1:38:41Speaker 15: told a completely different story. So they have no idea
- 1:38:45Speaker 15: about the truth. Now, that doesn't make these people stupid.
- 1:38:48Speaker 15: It makes them ignorant.
- 1:38:50Speaker 17: That's different.
- 1:38:51Speaker 15: Ignorance means you just don't know. Doesn't mean you can't learn.
- 1:38:54Speaker 15: So we've got to make sure that we teach people
- 1:38:57Speaker 15: the truth and get the truth out there. In fact,
- 1:39:00Speaker 15: get this book and go to Thanksgiving dinner where I
- 1:39:03Speaker 15: know half the room is liberal and half conservative. Nobody's
- 1:39:06Speaker 15: talking to each other. Give them the book. Tell them
- 1:39:08Speaker 15: to read it and see if they can come back
- 1:39:10Speaker 15: and debate you the next week. I guarantee you they
- 1:39:13Speaker 15: won't be able to beat you. You'll beat them.
- 1:39:15Speaker 2: Yeah. So what do you do? How would you ever
- 1:39:17Speaker 2: take back the universities? You'd have to get rid of
- 1:39:19Speaker 2: the faculty, the board of trustees. Even if you did that,
- 1:39:24Speaker 2: wouldn't it be generations before it helped?
- 1:39:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:39:28Speaker 15: And Mark, what has to happen is the late Charlie
- 1:39:31Speaker 15: Kirk was a great example. You've got to go to
- 1:39:33Speaker 15: these places and you've got to tell them the truth.
- 1:39:35Speaker 15: And Charlie lost his life for doing that.
- 1:39:38Speaker 3: But it was.
- 1:39:40Speaker 15: A great life that he had. I had the pleasure
- 1:39:42Speaker 15: of knowing him a bit, being on TV with him
- 1:39:44Speaker 15: on Fox News. But we need more people like him
- 1:39:47Speaker 15: out there. And we also need to get, like I said,
- 1:39:51Speaker 15: into the mainstream media. Conservative media is only 25% of
- 1:39:55Speaker 15: what people watch. Most of the news they get is
- 1:39:57Speaker 15: from Google and Apple and on social media. The conservatives
- 1:40:02Speaker 15: had to get their story out on those platforms. And
- 1:40:05Speaker 15: by the way, it would be a good idea if
- 1:40:06Speaker 15: they created one or two fact-checkers that would check things
- 1:40:09Speaker 15: right instead of the ones that pick on us all
- 1:40:12Speaker 15: the time. I'm sure you get picked on. I know
- 1:40:14Speaker 15: I do. And by the way, I'm retiring as a
- 1:40:16Speaker 15: pollster mark. So I don't have, I have nothing to lose.
- 1:40:20Speaker 15: This is my last year. All right.
- 1:40:24Speaker 2: Well, good luck with this. I don't know. It's going
- 1:40:27Speaker 2: to take a million years to turn things around, but
- 1:40:29Speaker 2: if you want to, you know, it's, it's doable.
- 1:40:32Speaker 15: I live in the free state of Florida and this state,
- 1:40:34Speaker 15: when I went to law school here was as democratic
- 1:40:37Speaker 15: as it could be. I went back to Atlanta and
- 1:40:40Speaker 15: had a career there. I came back home to Florida.
- 1:40:42Speaker 15: And it's as Republican as can be. And they're changing
- 1:40:45Speaker 15: the universities. They don't let them teach all this nonsense.
- 1:40:48Speaker 15: It will happen. At some point, the truth and freedom
- 1:40:51Speaker 15: end up winning.
