- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: Hey everybody, Brian Smith here with the IM team series and your daily influence and it's Christmas and I am going to try to keep this kind of brief but as you all that have been listening through these over 600 episodes across these number of years now.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_00]: I like to give messages on holidays, even though most of us aren't working, don't know how many people listen, but well, I get to hear myself talk and share some of the things that is important to me during the different holiday seasons that we go through Christmas for me is, you know, really.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: as a gift goes about gratitude and gratitude as the influence that I would hope many of us have.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: I'd like giving gifts to Renee, like kids and our team and Christmas seems to be about giving ending.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: gratitude, being thankful for everything that we have for the people in my life, the team that we have here, all of the people here at IA are clients, our partners, family, it's so hard to express that gratitude in a way that really truly conveys
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: how I feel about what people do to help us be who we are as individuals in our organization, as the individual organization that it is.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: We are so blessed and I work very hard having our gratitude be strong enough to strengthen those relationships so that they
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: really understand who we are as individuals and how we want to perform for them in what we do.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_00]: And what's even more important is that if I can share with people and help them to understand that everyone matters, especially today.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_00]: every body matters and reinforcing that core belief that every individual as value is a mission that I will be on until on done with my mission.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: And Christmas reminds me as I go out, you know, away from the office and get out in the stores and see people moving about and celebrating this time of year,
- 3:09[SPEAKER_00]: any way that we can help people to understand and realize their value is a gift we can give them.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_00]: You know, how we receive that appreciation, how we receive these gifts that we get is also
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: an important part of the influence we have.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: Why having and showing and learning how to receive appreciation is so important.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: And if you've ever given something to someone and you don't get the appreciation from them for what you're giving, you know what I'm talking about.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_00]: And it is so difficult,
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: sometimes to continue.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: But I would urge you, keep giving those people who can't receive properly, you don't understand how to say, thank you, who don't really understand what getting a gift, whatever that gift is, how much that should mean to them.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_00]: That's a lesson for them to learn, keep giving because someday they will actually learn that lesson.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: And sometimes that's all it takes,
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: sometimes knowing that we've finally broke through and helped somebody to understand what getting a gift means and what that person could mean to them or does mean to them is part of the lesson in part of the giving and part of the receiving.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_00]: Christmas is is so important.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_00]: Not just for its religious side, not just for getting gifts or giving gifts, but it's so important for a time
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: And understand that gratitude is a huge part of the human experience.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_00]: You don't see that in other species.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: And if we can help people to be kind and to give and receive with grace, Christmas will be elevated to something that will bring the most joy than it is supposed to bring in your world and in your areas of influence.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: I hope that you enjoy whatever time you have that.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_00]: hope you had the day off and if you didn't, if you're one of those people who has to serve first responders, hotel workers, restaurants, places that are open, I hope that you find time to enjoy your day and we appreciate all that you do on days like today when so many get that time away and you're still out there serving us and helping us.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_00]: Have a great Christmas, Merry Christmas
