- 5:33In business news, several key players saw significant movements in the stock market
- 5:39yesterday.
- 5:41Berkshire Hathaway enjoyed a 1% increase after reporting a 39% rise in first quarter operating

- 5:53This surge was propelled by its robust property and casualty insurance business and heightened

- 6:00However, Berkshire also reduced its stake in Apple by about 13%, leading to a slight
- 6:06dip in Apple's stock by 1%, despite a strong earnings report last week.

- 7:52And now back to the show.
- 7:55Let's talk science.
- 7:57A recent study has highlighted another potential threat to bumblebees, rising global temperatures.
- 8:04Researchers found that bumblebees, which thrive at nest temperatures between 82 and 90 degrees,
- 8:10struggle to survive when temperatures near 97 degrees.
- 8:15This study, which spans literature from the 1840s to present, indicates that such high
- 8:20temperatures compromise the bee's survival by affecting their reproductive capacities
- 8:26and the health of worker bees.
- 8:29Given that last year was the hottest on record, and with the increasing frequency of such
- 8:33record-breaking temperatures, the ability of bumblebees to adapt to these changes remains
- 8:39a critical concern.
- 8:41This research underscores the importance of addressing global warming alongside other
- 8:46threats like habitat loss and pesticide use to protect these crucial pollinators.
- 8:52And in entertainment news, James Gunn has unveiled the new look for Superman, featuring
- 9:01David Corencwet in the iconic suit, which appears notably weathered, hinting at intense
- 9:07action sequences in the upcoming movie.
- 9:10This marks Corencwet's first major lead role in a Hollywood blockbuster.
- 9:16Superman, set for a July 2025 release, also stars Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas
- 9:25Holt as Lex Luthor.
- 9:27The ensemble cast includes talents like Spiler DeSando and Anthony Carrigan, adding depth
- 9:33to the anticipated superhero film.
- 9:37Gunn's decision to simplify the film's title from Superman, legacy to just Superman,
- 9:43reflects a possibly streamlined approach to the storied franchise.
- 9:47Well, alrighty folks, it's time for the quote of the day.
