Akin Out for Season and Likely Next | Baltimore Orioles News
Orioles reliever Keegan Akin is done for the season—and possibly next—after undergoing Tommy John surgery, ending his promising career arc with the team. A key lefty in the bullpen for seven years, Akin was a reliable force from 2022-2024, especially in 2024 when he posted a stellar 3.32 ERA and elite strikeout numbers. Now sidelined with a projected return in 2028, his injury hits hard for a team already thin on left-handed arms, and his impending free agency means no team will get to see him pitch again until 2028.
