- 0:55Sean McAllister: How you can take part as they vie for the title of the best circus act in the world.
- 1:01Dayna Roselli: Netflix landed a culinary residency on the strip.
- 1:05Dayna Roselli: We'll explain why it's going to be a tough reservation to get.
- 1:08Sean McAllister: Plus some music news and an all-new Formula One experience.
- 1:12Dayna Roselli: It's all coming up on Vegas Revealed.
- 1:17Sean McAllister: Vegas Revealed, presented by Level Up Law, starts now.
- 1:22Sean McAllister: Welcome to Vegas Revealed, episode 245.
- 1:25Sean McAllister: Sean McAllister here, along with Dana Roselli.
- 1:29Sean McAllister: Hi.
- 1:30Dayna Roselli: Hi.
- 1:31Sean McAllister: How's it going?
- 1:31Dayna Roselli: Great.
- 1:32Dayna Roselli: It's Halloween.
- 1:33Sean McAllister: It is Halloween.
- 1:35Sean McAllister: Happy Halloween, everyone.
- 1:36Sean McAllister: Happy Halloween to all of you.
- 1:39Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 1:39Dayna Roselli: Well, the podcast drops on Halloween.
- 1:41Dayna Roselli: If you listen to it after Halloween, then it's not Halloween, and that's on you.
- 1:45Dayna Roselli: But we're celebrating Halloween at the sphere, actually.
- 1:48Dayna Roselli: They announced that they're doing a live stream and putting some really cool stuff on the outside, the exosphere.
- 1:57Dayna Roselli: Sean, we're talking creepy eyeballs, flying bats, and slithering snakes.
- 2:01Sean McAllister: I I saw these eyeballs the other day, and it really is kind of it is creepy.
- 2:08Sean McAllister: Do you remember when you would go into a like a haunted house as a kid and there would be that bowl of peeled grapes?
- 2:14Sean McAllister: And it felt like you were putting your hand inside a bowl of eyeballs.
- 2:19Sean McAllister: I never liked those things.
- 2:22Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I know.
- 2:23Dayna Roselli: As we've discussed, I'm not a big Halloween person, but I do like fun stuff like images on the outside of the sphere.
- 2:29Sean McAllister: That I can get on board with.
- 2:30Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 2:30Dayna Roselli: And the good thing is it runs through November 2nd.
- 2:33Dayna Roselli: So if you want to see the Halloween-themed sphere stuff and get a glimpse, you can watch on the live stream or in person if you're here in Las Vegas or visiting Las Vegas.
- 2:42Dayna Roselli: Um, and it's going to start taking place 6 p.m.
- 2:45Dayna Roselli: each night until midnight Pacific time.
- 2:48Dayna Roselli: And it's always at the top of each hour.
- 2:51Sean McAllister: So that's the sphere always does great stuff for holidays, occasions, events.
- 2:57Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 2:58Dayna Roselli: Voting.
- 2:59Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 2:59Dayna Roselli: The voting sticker.
- 3:00Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 3:01Dayna Roselli: Waking up, going to sleep, all of it.
- 3:04Dayna Roselli: Um, hey, I felt a little earthquake last week.
- 3:06Dayna Roselli: And I don't even know if we've discussed this, but I threw it in to talk about it.
- 3:10Sean McAllister: We have not discussed this, but I did not feel it.
- 3:13Sean McAllister: I was passed out, fast asleep, felt nothing, but woke up to tons and tons of posts on social media of people saying, What was that?
- 3:24Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 3:24Dayna Roselli: I happened to be up because actually, I think that night I was working late, editing or something.
- 3:29Dayna Roselli: And then by the time I sat down to watch TV, I got involved, and it was like one, I remember it was 111 in the morning.
- 3:35Dayna Roselli: I was just about to turn off the TV.
- 3:37Dayna Roselli: Um, and I felt like my bed started moving and it was like a rumbling.
- 3:43Dayna Roselli: And then I heard creaking.
- 3:44Dayna Roselli: I live in a high rise.
- 3:46Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that's not good.
- 3:46Dayna Roselli: I know it only took, it was like a second, but I noticed the difference.
- 3:49Dayna Roselli: It wasn't a normal like windy night or a truck driving by or anything like that.
- 3:54Dayna Roselli: So I went to Twitter and I decided to post about it.
- 3:57Dayna Roselli: Like, hey, anyone else feel that?
- 3:59Dayna Roselli: And then I was shocked because it was 111 in the morning at the response that I got.
- 4:04Sean McAllister: There were so many people who were still up and felt it.
- 4:06Dayna Roselli: Yeah, or actually, people did wake up, unlike you.
- 4:09Dayna Roselli: Some people said my dog started barking.
- 4:11Dayna Roselli: Oh.
- 4:12Dayna Roselli: Or um, I felt something, something jarred me out of bed or whatever.
- 4:16Dayna Roselli: So I mean, I guess probably the light sleepers or maybe people who were just falling asleep.
- 4:19Dayna Roselli: So it wasn't anything major, but it was a 4.7 about two hours away.
- 4:23Dayna Roselli: And that's why I guess some of us felt a little bit of the effect.
- 4:26Sean McAllister: Just over the state line into California.
- 4:29Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 4:29Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 4:30Dayna Roselli: And I mean, you know, that's not a big deal, but you know, we don't have much, like, luckily, that's why we live here.
- 4:36Dayna Roselli: Stuff happened here.
- 4:37Dayna Roselli: We don't have hurricanes and tornadoes and you know, all that kind of stuff, and and major earthquakes.
- 4:41Dayna Roselli: So when we have a little rumble, it's it's a big talking point.
- 4:44Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's been a few years since I've felt an earthquake.
- 4:47Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 4:48Sean McAllister: Because it's it was like two houses ago.
- 4:51Sean McAllister: I don't even know time periods anymore.
- 4:54Sean McAllister: I just know two houses ago.
- 4:56Sean McAllister: Right.
- 4:56Sean McAllister: That's where I felt the the earthquake happen because the blinds kind of shifted were shaking on the window, and we're like, what in the world is going on?
- 5:05Sean McAllister: Right.
- 5:06Sean McAllister: Is there a truck like driving through our front yard?
- 5:11Sean McAllister: But no, it was yeah, those earthquakes are weird.
- 5:13Sean McAllister: So all of you listening in California, um, I mean, you obviously get it much worse than we do here.
- 5:19Sean McAllister: Yeah, but it is such an eerie feeling.
- 5:22Dayna Roselli: You know, and I always feel like that's the best use of social media.
- 5:25Dayna Roselli: Like there's the dancing and the funny and the news, but then when you go on for the immediate reaction and question to figure out what's going on, and you know, so you feel like, okay, am I going crazy?
- 5:36Dayna Roselli: Did this happen?
- 5:36Dayna Roselli: And then and then everyone starts discussing like that.
- 5:40Dayna Roselli: I feel like is what social media is about.
- 5:42Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 5:43Sean McAllister: That's that's where the connection comes in.
- 5:45Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 5:46Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 5:46Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 5:47Dayna Roselli: Well, um, we just got some something that just popped into our inbox, and we thought, let's talk about this.
- 5:52Dayna Roselli: It's called Netflix Bites.
- 5:55Dayna Roselli: And MGM Grand on the strip has announced plans for this new dining experience.
- 6:01Dayna Roselli: Um, it's gonna be a one-year culinary residency, I guess.
- 6:05Sean McAllister: Yeah, and this is kind of uh there was a successful Netflix Bites pop-up restaurant in Los Angeles that was a super hard reservation to get.
- 6:15Sean McAllister: Basically, uh, some of uh Netflix's uh big celebrity chefs who have shows on the streaming service, they teamed up, put together a tasting menu uh that was available for people who went and were lucky enough to get a reservation in there.
- 6:32Sean McAllister: Well, it was so successful in Los Angeles, they're now deciding to do that here in Las Vegas as well.
- 6:39Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so I mean, they they were saying that um in this article that the LA one, like you said, was a hard reservation to get and that it would book out like six weeks.
- 6:47Dayna Roselli: So I wonder how but I feel like ours will probably be bigger.
- 6:50Dayna Roselli: We always do bigger.
- 6:51Sean McAllister: Yeah, we've got to.
- 6:52Dayna Roselli: We'll probably have a lot more room.
- 6:53Dayna Roselli: But um, just to read the little synopsis, it says From screen to table, fans and foodies alike will be invited to a one-of-a-kind restaurant experience offering guests a savory journey that combines inspiration from hit Netflix titles with MGM's grand's renowned expertise in hospitality and immersive entertainment.
- 7:14Dayna Roselli: So it sounds fun.
- 7:15Dayna Roselli: It's gonna serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner when it opens its doors in early 2025.
- 7:21Sean McAllister: Yeah, they're starting construction on that space now.
- 7:24Sean McAllister: Um, so we'll look forward to that coming up in the new year.
- 7:28Sean McAllister: Well, speaking of Netflix, there's another Las Vegas connection.
- 7:31Sean McAllister: Uh the hit series Queer Eye filmed several, an entire season worth of episodes here in Las Vegas earlier this year, and they've just announced that the new season is coming out December 11th.
- 7:46Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and I personally didn't even know the show was still on.
- 7:50Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 7:50Dayna Roselli: So I mean, it's developed and evolved and all that.
- 7:54Sean McAllister: And it's taken on a whole new life on Netflix.
- 7:58Dayna Roselli: So explain how it works.
- 7:59Sean McAllister: Are they still doing like, hey, we're gonna give you a makeover and and redo things and yes, but I feel like it has definitely evolved to more facets of a person's life.
- 8:14Sean McAllister: So uh it starts with a friend or family member or coworker nominating somebody to get this uh makeover.
- 8:23Sean McAllister: It's a physical makeover of the person, but also kind of a a makeover of their life, too.
- 8:29Sean McAllister: Oh, okay.
- 8:29Sean McAllister: You know, the Fab Five, there's five of the queer eye guys, cast members, they each have their own uh their own avenue of expertise.
- 8:42Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 8:43Sean McAllister: So uh they'll go in and you know work with people on their wardrobe, on their skin care, hair routine, uh interior design, you know, and then they uh touch on emotional things too.
- 8:56Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 8:56Sean McAllister: Like getting in touch with uh what's going on and and being emotionally healthy.
- 9:02Sean McAllister: Right.
- 9:02Sean McAllister: And you know, if there's a relationship that needs to be mended, they'll offer advice on how to do that and sometimes even be the mediator in those meetings.
- 9:13Sean McAllister: So it's it really is a great series and they have some great stories.
- 9:17Sean McAllister: So it'll be exciting to see uh who in Las Vegas has been chosen and what those stories are.
- 9:24Sean McAllister: I wonder, are we gonna know anyone?
- 9:26Sean McAllister: I I guarantee we probably will.
- 9:28Dayna Roselli: There'll definitely be some probably some like guest experiences, you know, or like guest uh what do you call it?
- 9:33Dayna Roselli: Like guest star.
- 9:34Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 9:35Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 9:35Dayna Roselli: So that'll be good.
- 9:36Dayna Roselli: Okay, I look forward to this.
- 9:37Dayna Roselli: December 11th on Netflix.
- 9:39Dayna Roselli: Um, I saw the Nevada Film Office actually put it out, so I know they're excited about that.
- 9:44Dayna Roselli: Love when people shoot shows in Las Vegas.
- 9:46Dayna Roselli: It's good for us and it's fun to watch.
- 9:48Sean McAllister: It is.
- 9:49Sean McAllister: Hey, uh there is this big international circus festival that's here in Las Vegas right now, uh, November 1st through the 10th, it's going on.
- 10:00Sean McAllister: Uh there's a big top that's set up.
- 10:02Sean McAllister: It's just off of Sahara, a little bit west of the Las Vegas Strip.
- 10:07Sean McAllister: But there are circus acts from around the world who are here competing to win the title of the best circus act in the world.
- 10:17Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we went over to do a piece for our television show and learned that this is the first time a s this circus festival has ever taken place in the United States.
- 10:27Dayna Roselli: And so they chose Las Vegas to kick this off.
- 10:30Dayna Roselli: And yeah, like you said, it's 10 days.
- 10:32Dayna Roselli: So it's the first or the 10th.
- 10:34Dayna Roselli: So this just isn't just like a weekend thing.
- 10:36Dayna Roselli: And what's cool about it is the public can get tickets to watch the competition.
- 10:42Dayna Roselli: There's like two programs, I think, each day, and they compete against each other.
- 10:46Dayna Roselli: And these are people coming in from all over the world, like the Best Trapeze Act and all sorts of different incredible things.
- 10:54Sean McAllister: Yeah, we stopped over to the circus tent and talked to Renato Fernandez, who is a circus performer himself, a past winner of an international circus festival in Monte Carlo.
- 11:05Sean McAllister: He's the organizer who brought this here to Las Vegas, and he gives us more details.
- 11:10Sean McAllister: Take a listen.
- 11:11Sean McAllister: So this is like the America's Got Talent.
- 11:13Sean McAllister: The circus we belong to.
- 11:14Sean McAllister: Yeah, exactly.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: That's the perfect way to put it.
- 11:17SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 11:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's the perfect.
- 11:18SPEAKER_00: So this is the circus got talent again.
- 11:21SPEAKER_00: Circus got talent, so it's everybody against everybody.
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: It's to win first place, they're getting gold, they're getting a contract, and they're getting the title of the all-around best circus act in the world.
- 11:31Sean McAllister: Okay, so you have circus producers who are coming in to be the official judges here, but the audience has a vote too, right?
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: So we have the special public's choice, okay?
- 11:41SPEAKER_00: The public's choice, every single member that comes to watch in the audience, they'll have a QR code in front of the seat in front of them, okay, behind the seat in front of them.
- 11:49SPEAKER_00: They can scan and they can vote for whatever act they like.
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: They prefer to act.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: On the gala night, we are gonna pick a random seat and we're gonna have that audience member come on stage and present the public's choice award on behalf of the audience.
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: I love it.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: So, but here's the thing: if you come on show A, you only get to vote for show A.
- 12:07SPEAKER_00: You have to be present on show B in order to get a QR code to vote.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: Gotcha.
- 12:11SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 12:11SPEAKER_00: Okay, yes.
- 12:12Sean McAllister: And for people who want to come out and experience the International Circus Festival, first one here in Las Vegas.
- 12:18Sean McAllister: I mean, you guys have made ticket prices really reasonable.
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah, well, we, you know, there's like I said, there's a thousand shows in Vegas.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: You know, this is something unique.
- 12:26SPEAKER_00: We want Vegas and all our communities to experience this is a unique event, first in, you know, US history.
- 12:31SPEAKER_00: So we're our prices are very basic.
- 12:33SPEAKER_00: We start at$39 for general admission, all the way to$199 for VIP, where you get the meet and greet, you get some perks, you know, you get to hang out in our VIP lounge.
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: And tickets are available now at on our website at Las Vegas CircusFestival.com.
- 12:45SPEAKER_00: We are partnered with Humanitix, which is a hundred percent nonprofit ticketing platform.
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: All of their booking fees goes donated to charity.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: That's why we partner with them.
- 12:54SPEAKER_00: So we are very happy about that.
- 12:55SPEAKER_00: 100% of their booking fees go straight to charity.
- 12:58SPEAKER_00: Nice.
- 12:58Sean McAllister: And not only are you a performer yourself, you're you're organizing everything here on the ground in Las Vegas, but uh you're a past winner too, right?
- 13:07SPEAKER_00: Yes, yes.
- 13:07SPEAKER_00: So there's other festivals around the world.
- 13:09SPEAKER_00: Although we're in the first in the US, there's many throughout the world in Spain, in Italy, the main one being in Monte Carlo, in Monaco, where I was grateful enough to compete in 2020, where we came out winning.
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: We were competing against um there they still have animal acts, you know.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: So we were uh competing against the lion trainer and against the juggling, against the magician, everybody.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: Thankfully, we did a great job, and we came out on top on gold.
- 13:29SPEAKER_00: And the Princess of Monaco, Princess Stephanie of Monaco presented us the famous gold clown from there.
- 13:34SPEAKER_00: And the idea just became itself and all of that, you know.
- 13:37SPEAKER_00: By going, I was also also invited as a jury member in also festivals, right?
- 13:41SPEAKER_00: So that's when I started getting the tick of like, why don't why not, right?
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: Why not in Vegas?
- 13:45SPEAKER_00: Why not in America?
- 13:46SPEAKER_00: Why can't I do it?
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: I love a challenge.
- 13:48SPEAKER_00: I started putting the pieces together.
- 13:50SPEAKER_00: I have amazing people behind me, man.
- 13:51SPEAKER_00: As you can see, the structure is incredible.
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: This is one of the biggest big tops in the country of size.
- 13:57SPEAKER_00: And you know, we have the artistic director, our lighting technician, a style technician.
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: There's just a lot of people behind this.
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: You know, I'm directing everything, but without them, this wouldn't be possible for sure.
- 14:06Sean McAllister: Well, even when we pulled up, I said, wow, this is a really nice big thing.
- 14:10SPEAKER_00: No, the caballeros did an amazing job.
- 14:12SPEAKER_00: So this has a name, it's called the cathedral, right?
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: Because it's one solid piece of uh concession stands backstage in the tent itself.
- 14:19SPEAKER_00: And yeah, it's big.
- 14:19SPEAKER_00: We fit 1,200 people in there.
- 14:21SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: 1,000.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: So we'll be in front of 1,200 people.
- 14:25SPEAKER_00: Incredible.
- 14:26Sean McAllister: So you mentioned that you uh performed here uh in Las Vegas.
- 14:30Sean McAllister: You performed for uh Cirque du Soleil.
- 14:32Sean McAllister: What is your specialty?
- 14:33SPEAKER_00: Flying trapeze.
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: So I did flying trapeze my whole life.
- 14:35SPEAKER_00: I was born, my father was already a flying trapeze artist, I'm third generation flying trapeze artist.
- 14:40SPEAKER_00: Uh, did flying trapeze my whole life.
- 14:41SPEAKER_00: My first performance, I was four years old, which is a video I carry so much because I don't remember.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: My memory doesn't go there.
- 14:45SPEAKER_00: So I watched the video like that's crazy, you know.
- 14:47SPEAKER_00: I was up there doing it.
- 14:48SPEAKER_00: Thanks to my family.
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: And yeah, we're also gonna have a flying trapeze act in the show, you know, from Chile, from South America, they'll be competing.
- 14:55SPEAKER_00: They're actually the only triple wide flying trapeze act in the world right now.
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: So they're gonna have three different catchers and three different people flying in the air.
- 15:02Dayna Roselli: If you want to go to the circus festival again, November 1st to the 10th, you can go to Las Vegas Circusfestival.com.
- 15:11Dayna Roselli: All one thing there.
- 15:12Dayna Roselli: Pretty simple, Las Vegas Circusfestival.com and tickets start at$39.
- 15:17Sean McAllister: Hey, we want to talk about uh the new production that Dita Vantis is putting on over at the Venetian inside of Voltaire.
- 15:27Sean McAllister: We've covered this on our Vegas Revealed TV show, but we haven't talked about it yet here on the audio podcast.
- 15:34Dayna Roselli: That's right.
- 15:35Dayna Roselli: You and I went to one of her Friday night shows at nine o'clock, and it was great.
- 15:39Dayna Roselli: First of all, we just can't like I just gush every time when I walk into that Voltaire space.
- 15:45Dayna Roselli: It's gorgeous.
- 15:45Sean McAllister: It's beautiful, yeah.
- 15:46Dayna Roselli: It really is such a stunning room.
- 15:49Dayna Roselli: So I wasn't sure, you know, like am I gonna I you know, I I haven't seen I didn't see Dita's show at the horseshoe, so I didn't know what to expect, but I actually was pleasantly surprised at how much I really did enjoy this.
- 16:02Sean McAllister: It was a very entertaining show.
- 16:04Sean McAllister: I mean, obviously, Dita von Tees is the queen of burlesque.
- 16:08Sean McAllister: So this is obviously a burlesque show, but there are also, I mean, there's a huge, heavy showgirl influence uh on this show as well, and it really celebrates, I feel like.
- 16:24Sean McAllister: It it celebrates the Las Vegas showgirl just as much as it celebrates burlesque.
- 16:29Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 16:30Dayna Roselli: And the costumes were absolutely stunning, sparkly, beautiful.
- 16:33Dayna Roselli: I love that the show was really classy.
- 16:36Dayna Roselli: It it didn't, it's not it was sexy but not raunchy at all.
- 16:40Dayna Roselli: Like, and it was just pr and it flowed and it moved along, and I mean it's just all music, not one word was spoken.
- 16:47Sean McAllister: No, I think you even said you were like, Man, what a gig is this?
- 16:50Sean McAllister: She doesn't even have to say anything.
- 16:53Dayna Roselli: That's the thing.
- 16:54Dayna Roselli: I guess that's the art of burlesque, right?
- 16:56Dayna Roselli: It's all about moving the body and doing the teasing sensuality.
- 17:00Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 17:00Dayna Roselli: Um, I really loved it, and I thought, wow, this is great.
- 17:03Dayna Roselli: And I love, you know, because Voltaire, it's like the booths and and just sitting there and sipping your cocktail and watching this Vegas show.
- 17:11Dayna Roselli: It felt very old school, but also very new school because there was definitely a modernized twist to it.
- 17:17Sean McAllister: Yeah, without a doubt.
- 17:18Sean McAllister: And the performers really uh are all over that room, too.
- 17:23Sean McAllister: So you have things going on all around you.
- 17:26Sean McAllister: Highly recommend going over to see Dita Las Vegas.
- 17:29Sean McAllister: Obviously, that's a playoff of Viva Las Vegas.
- 17:32Sean McAllister: Um just a great show, great venue, perfect fit over there.
- 17:38Sean McAllister: And Dita is the fixture, the staple show over at Voltaire right now.
- 17:43Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 17:43Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I think um I have to look it up.
- 17:46Dayna Roselli: Was it Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday?
- 17:49Dayna Roselli: I believe she's there, 9 p.m.
- 17:51Dayna Roselli: Um, but also she just extended, so she'll have performances through May of 2025 on the books right now.
- 17:57Dayna Roselli: So if you want to get tickets, I I just think it's great.
- 18:00Dayna Roselli: Sean, you even mentioned it'd be a great dinner show at some point.
- 18:03Sean McAllister: It would.
- 18:04Sean McAllister: It would.
- 18:04Sean McAllister: But we don't really have a lot of dinner shows anymore like we used to.
- 18:09Sean McAllister: And we like to eat.
- 18:11Sean McAllister: I do.
- 18:13Dayna Roselli: But yeah, no, I mean it's still, but I like the 9 p.m.
- 18:16Dayna Roselli: thing, you know, very, you know, uh nighttime feeling too, like nightlife, you know, something to do at night if you don't want to go hit the clubs and do all that.
- 18:23Dayna Roselli: So um we're gonna hopefully talk to Dita at some point coming up.
- 18:27Sean McAllister: All right, let's switch gears and talk festivals because we have some uh several tidbits of of festival news coming up.
- 18:35Sean McAllister: The first one is uh called Complex Con, and this kind of brings together a whole bunch of uh different things that we've never seen brought together before, really, in a festival setting.
- 18:47Dayna Roselli: Right, and so many people are talking about this and excited that it's taking place in Las Vegas.
- 18:52Dayna Roselli: It's November 16th and 17th.
- 18:54Dayna Roselli: It's gonna be at the convention center.
- 18:57Dayna Roselli: However, there are some other things happening outside, like the the big like official after party is at Resorts World Zook Nightclub.
- 19:04Dayna Roselli: But they're also having this family style food festival, and it's not quite what it sounds like because what it is is when you say family style, it's bringing together style and food.
- 19:16Dayna Roselli: Not family style, but it's a great play on words.
- 19:18Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 19:19Sean McAllister: It is right.
- 19:20Dayna Roselli: Um, and that is gonna have um like like it brings together, it's like an intersection, they call it of like food and streetwear with a curated lineup of chefs, restaurants, brands, entertainment.
- 19:31Dayna Roselli: So the Family Style Food Festival takes place at Complex Con.
- 19:37Dayna Roselli: Um, and Complex Con just seems like it has so many different kinds of avenues to it.
- 19:43Dayna Roselli: But like you mentioned, it's it's style, it's streetwear, it's culture, it's entertainment all coming together.
- 19:51Sean McAllister: Yeah, and there's uh going to be local and out-of-state restaurants that are represented at uh the family style food fest.
- 19:59Sean McAllister: And it sounds like they're even going to create some limited edition merchandise that kind of uh ties in with some of the restaurants who are here preparing food.
- 20:09Sean McAllister: So you may go and get a bite from one of the one of the food stations, and there could be some really cool merchandise that you're only going to get at ComplexCon that ties back to that restaurant.
- 20:22Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 20:22Dayna Roselli: I'm glad they chose Las Vegas to to you know to set up shop here for those two days.
- 20:28Dayna Roselli: We're excited to have them, and as I said, I know a lot of people are looking forward to it.
- 20:32Dayna Roselli: Well, and then like a week later, we've got the Neon City Festival that's taking place November 22nd through the 24th.
- 20:39Dayna Roselli: That's in downtown Las Vegas, and that's free.
- 20:42Sean McAllister: Yeah, a lot of uh food and entertainment a part of this as well.
- 20:46Sean McAllister: And there have been just uh a couple more bands added to the entertainment lineup of the Neon City Festival.
- 20:53Sean McAllister: Uh the plain white teas, you might know.
- 20:56Sean McAllister: Yeah, they're great.
- 20:56Sean McAllister: Hey there, Delilah.
- 20:58Sean McAllister: What's it like in New York City?
- 21:00Sean McAllister: Uh the All-American Rejects also just added.
- 21:03Dayna Roselli: Yeah, good lineup, right?
- 21:05Dayna Roselli: Um, in addition to what they've already announced.
- 21:07Dayna Roselli: They also put out the culinary lineup.
- 21:09Dayna Roselli: Um, you know, you can follow them on social media because they keep posting all the additions.
- 21:14Dayna Roselli: We're putting it in our television show too.
- 21:16Dayna Roselli: Um, but um great lineup, regardless.
- 21:19Dayna Roselli: Here's the deal it's free.
- 21:20Dayna Roselli: So, like, I mean, you know, you're getting all these great bands and this great food and all that, and you're able to go down and admission is free.
- 21:28Dayna Roselli: So that is gonna be wonderful.
- 21:30Dayna Roselli: And again, it's taking place uh at the same time as Formula One is taking place on the strip.
- 21:35Dayna Roselli: So that's a busy, busy week weekend.
- 21:38Sean McAllister: Yeah, so Neon City is gonna be in downtown Las Vegas while F one is taking over the strip.
- 21:44Sean McAllister: So that should be a it'll be interesting to see how all of that meshes during a very busy weekend here in Las Vegas.
- 21:52Sean McAllister: And hey, if you are someone who likes to plan ahead, then listen up because if you don't have anything going on.
- 22:00Sean McAllister: On October 18th of 2025.
- 22:04Sean McAllister: Well, you may have something going on now.
- 22:06Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's so funny because the When We Were Young festival just wrapped up, but they just announced the 2025 lineup.
- 22:14Dayna Roselli: And presale sign up actually starts Friday, November 1st.
- 22:18Dayna Roselli: So, like you said, Sean, that's planning ahead, right?
- 22:21Dayna Roselli: Um, and I know these tickets go quick, so that's why the pre-sale is probably really important when it comes to this.
- 22:27Dayna Roselli: Okay, the lineup.
- 22:28Dayna Roselli: Um, I'm just glad at quick glance, looks great.
- 22:32Dayna Roselli: Panic at the disco.
- 22:33Dayna Roselli: Nope.
- 22:33Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 22:34Dayna Roselli: Panic at the disco, Avril Levine, yellow card, weezer, blink 182.
- 22:39Dayna Roselli: So that's a good lineup just to start.
- 22:41Dayna Roselli: And then there's a slew of other bands.
- 22:43Sean McAllister: I mean, this is all in my wheelhouse.
- 22:46Sean McAllister: This is I'm gonna need to I'm gonna need to block off October 18th, 2025, right now.
- 22:55Sean McAllister: So Dana, as a co-owner of uh Insightful Media and co-host of Vegas Revealed, I'm officially requesting October 18th off.
- 23:05Dayna Roselli: Oh, good.
- 23:05Dayna Roselli: Well, it's a weekend, so we're off anyway.
- 23:07Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 23:07unknown: Phew.
- 23:09Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it should be good.
- 23:11Dayna Roselli: So we sit on my balcony.
- 23:12Dayna Roselli: I watch the festival from there.
- 23:13Dayna Roselli: Oh, true.
- 23:14Dayna Roselli: We could do that.
- 23:15Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 23:15Sean McAllister: Just throw a party.
- 23:16Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 23:17Dayna Roselli: Um, but that'll be good.
- 23:18Dayna Roselli: I'm glad for everyone seems excited about the lineup, so glad that that worked out, and we are gonna have them back in town again.

- 24:02Dayna Roselli: All right, let's do some tips now.
- 24:07Sean McAllister: Dana, before we started recording, you were saying you were driving down the road and you saw this cute little sign on the side of the road, and we're like, hey, wait a second.
- 24:17Sean McAllister: That's what we're talking about this week.
- 24:18Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 24:19Dayna Roselli: I was like, oh my gosh, what is that?
- 24:20Dayna Roselli: I feel like when I drive down Charleston, I've never seen this sign before.
- 24:23Dayna Roselli: It was lit up and it said Norms.
- 24:25Dayna Roselli: And I thought, oh, we're talking about that on the podcast.
- 24:28Dayna Roselli: Um, Norms set up shop here in Las Vegas, and this is their first ever restaurant.
- 24:34Dayna Roselli: When I say restaurant, it's a diner, a famous diner in California.
- 24:39Dayna Roselli: And this location is gonna mark their 24th outpost, but first time in Las Vegas.
- 24:46Sean McAllister: This is great.
- 24:46Sean McAllister: Diners are just the best, aren't they?
- 24:48Dayna Roselli: They really are.
- 24:49Dayna Roselli: I mean, they're just so much fun and easy, and just you know, you get that good food, more affordable.
- 24:56Dayna Roselli: It's good stuff.
- 24:57Sean McAllister: And Norms has uh a 75-year legacy out in California.
- 25:02Sean McAllister: So it's great to have, you know, this rich history brought here to the Las Vegas Valley as well.
- 25:09Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and it opens on a Saturday, November 9th.
- 25:12Dayna Roselli: And I thought we should get it in this podcast because they're having some events surrounding it, and you may want to go out and see some of this.
- 25:19Dayna Roselli: Okay, this is gonna be the world's first hot cake eating championship, and it's kicking off at 11 a.m.
- 25:27Dayna Roselli: on the 9th to celebrate, I guess, the grand opening.
- 25:30Dayna Roselli: Um, and they teamed up with the major league eating.
- 25:34Dayna Roselli: I didn't even know there's like a league, and some of the world's most competitive eaters for this first ever hot cake eating championship, and it's taking place there at Norms.
- 25:45Sean McAllister: Yeah, so this isn't just like Steve from a few doors down who signed up to do this eating contest.
- 25:50Sean McAllister: These are professional eaters, so there's gonna be a lot of hot cakes going down.
- 25:56Dayna Roselli: That's gonna be tough because the cakes, you know, get stuck.
- 25:59Dayna Roselli: They're gonna have to like can they drink in between?
- 26:01Sean McAllister: Uh they I think usually there is water available.
- 26:05Sean McAllister: So they'll probably either drink in between or dunk the hot cakes in water or syrup.
- 26:11Sean McAllister: And then well, syrup might that'll just put you into a diabetic coma.
- 26:17Sean McAllister: If you're chugging down syrup with your hot cakes.
- 26:21Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 26:22Dayna Roselli: Wait, what do they win?
- 26:23Dayna Roselli: Let me look here.
- 26:24Dayna Roselli: Hold on.
- 26:24Dayna Roselli: 10,000 bucks.
- 26:25Dayna Roselli: 10,000 along with a total purse of$10,000.
- 26:30Dayna Roselli: The coveted norms hotcake championship belt, they're gonna get uh with the first place eater securing$5,000.
- 26:38Sean McAllister: So a total of$10,000 in prizes, but the first place gets$5,000 plus that championship belt.
- 26:44Dayna Roselli: Okay, so here's the rundown of events.
- 26:46Dayna Roselli: The ribbon cutting and the eating contest are free and open to the public.
- 26:51Dayna Roselli: Um, guests on site between 10 a.m.
- 26:54Dayna Roselli: and noon are going to receive$10 off of uh$40 in coupons and a free kids' meal.
- 27:01Sean McAllister: All right.
- 27:02Dayna Roselli: So lots of stuff going down on November 9th at Norms.
- 27:05Dayna Roselli: It is 4605 West Charleston Boulevard.
- 27:10Dayna Roselli: So that's actually right near Decatur.
- 27:12Sean McAllister: Right.
- 27:13Sean McAllister: All right.
- 27:13Sean McAllister: Well, welcome to Las Vegas, Norms Diner.
- 27:16Sean McAllister: We're excited to have you.
- 27:17Sean McAllister: Hey, uh Formula One is coming back to Las Vegas again, the weekend of November 22nd.
- 27:25Sean McAllister: Um, and there's a lot of pop-up activations that are happening at resorts up and down the Las Vegas strip.
- 27:32Sean McAllister: So if you're to in town, you may want to go uh check some of those out.
- 27:36Sean McAllister: I think in the past we talked about an activation that's happening in the a free activation in the lobby of Aria.
- 27:43Sean McAllister: Um, but there's another one happening at Resorts World, and they have uh an e-go-kart track that they're setting up.
- 27:52Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's a limited edition indoor go-kart racing experience.
- 27:57Dayna Roselli: It's gonna feature some tight corners, some high speed straights, and more to challenge racers of all skill sets.
- 28:06Dayna Roselli: And so anybody can take part in this.
- 28:09Dayna Roselli: Uh, sounds really fun, and uh I just think this is really cool.
- 28:14Sean McAllister: Yeah, that is neat.
- 28:15Sean McAllister: And then uh they also have the vroom room going on late night on Friday, November 22nd and Saturday, the 23rd.
- 28:24Sean McAllister: This is from midnight to close up at LA Lounge on the 66th floor at Resorts World.
- 28:32Sean McAllister: This is a stunning room.
- 28:33Sean McAllister: It's so nice up there.
- 28:34Dayna Roselli: The view is so cool.
- 28:36Dayna Roselli: So they're doing a lot of different stuff.
- 28:38Dayna Roselli: Um, you know, DJs, all that kind of thing, but that sounds like a lot of fun.
- 28:42Dayna Roselli: So, I mean, there are so many things going on.
- 28:44Dayna Roselli: You and I have tried to tackle like even compiling.
- 28:47Dayna Roselli: It's just there's just too much going on.
- 28:49Sean McAllister: There's a lot.
- 28:50Sean McAllister: There is like the deals, the packages, the activations, the pop-ups, the event, yeah, all of it.
- 28:56Dayna Roselli: So when we got the resorts world list, uh, these two actually stuck out to us, and we're like, this sounds like a lot of fun.
- 29:02Dayna Roselli: So um, by the way, the ego kart thing taking place all of November at the complex in Resorts World.
- 29:08Sean McAllister: Wanted to give you a heads up about something coming up next week here on the podcast.
- 29:13Sean McAllister: Um, last summer we posted something on Twitter that got a ton of response.
- 29:20Sean McAllister: It was a video as we drove by Pops Cheessteaks.
- 29:24Sean McAllister: This is on the west side of town.
- 29:26Sean McAllister: Um, and people just went bonkers over this post.
- 29:30Sean McAllister: And we have been meaning to get over there, and we finally did.
- 29:35Sean McAllister: So we have uh our experience over there, our conversation with the folks at Pops coming up next week.
- 29:43Sean McAllister: And their cheesesteaks are good.
- 29:45Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we tried a lot of different things.
- 29:47Dayna Roselli: Uh we sampled a lot, it was delicious.
- 29:49Dayna Roselli: Um, we interviewed someone over there.
- 29:51Dayna Roselli: We've got it's gonna be a great piece.
- 29:52Dayna Roselli: So we look forward to sharing that with you next uh week.
