Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
• 0:03
Epstein Chronicles. We have to talk about one of the
• 0:09
most insulting clown show chapters in the entire Prince Andrew disaster,
• 0:14
the fact that Pizza Express seemed more interested in checking
• 0:17
Andrew's woking alibi than the people with badges, budgets, offices,
• 0:22
authority and I supposed mandate to investigate serious allegations connected
• 0:27
to Jeffrey Epstein's trafficking operation. And that sentence alone should
• 0:33
make your blood boil. Not because Pizza Express did anything wrong,
• 0:37
quite the opposite, because somehow, in this rancid little royal farce,
• 0:42
a chain restaurant had more incentive to protect the integrity
• 0:45
of its brand than Scotland Yard appeared to have in
• 0:48
publicly dismantling the timeline of a prince accused of being
• 0:51
tied to one of the most notorious predators on Earth. Now,
• 0:56
think about how demented that is. A woman says she
• 0:58
was trafficked a photograph exists, Jeffrey Epstein's dead Glenn Maxwell's
• 1:03
convicted survivors have spent years screaming into the teeth of
• 1:07
the machine and bitch ass. Prince Andrew Duke of Disaster
• 1:12
walks on to the BBC and serves the country a
• 1:14
steaming plate of nonsense about taking his daughter to Pizza
• 1:18
Express and Woking, as if the public was supposed to
• 1:22
hear that and say, well, there it is. Then case closed.
• 1:25
The Prince has invoked muzzarella. Justice has been served. No,
• 1:30
absolutely fucking not. That should have been the beginning of
• 1:34
the interrogation, not the end of the conversation. The second
• 1:38
Andrews said Pizza Express and Woking. Every competent investigator in
• 1:42
the country should have been crawling over that claim, like
• 1:45
ants on spilled sugar. Who's working that day? Who saw him?
• 1:49
What time did he arrive, what time did he leave?
• 1:53
Was there a booking? Was there a receipt? Were there
• 1:55
card records? Were their staff schedules? Were their old rhotas?
• 2:00
Were there customer recollections? Was there anything, anything at all
• 2:04
that could turn this bizarre little royal fairy tale into
• 2:07
verifiable fact? But instead, what did the public get? A
• 2:12
national comedy routine, a thousand jokes, a million memes, late
• 2:16
night punchlines, everyone laughing at how strange the alibi was,
• 2:21
while the real obscenity sat right there in the open.
• 2:24
Why in the hell did it feel like the pizza
• 2:26
company cared more about fact checking the claim than the
• 2:29
institutions that should have been squeezing the truth out of it.
• 2:33
That shit's not funny, it's vomit inducing, because this is
• 2:37
what happens when power gets wrapped in velvet. The normal
• 2:40
rules they bend, the urgency that disappears, the questions become polite,
• 2:46
the room temperature drops, everyone starts speaking in that soft
• 2:51
institutional voice they use when they're trying to make cowardice
• 2:54
sound like procedure. Suddenly, it's not about whether the prince
• 2:57
told the truth. It's about the complain cities. It's about jurisdiction.
• 3:02
It's about process, it's about reputational sensitivity. It's about every
• 3:08
greasy little phrase the establishment uses when it wants to
• 3:12
bury a grenade without pulling the pin. And meanwhile, the
• 3:16
rest of us are supposed to pretend we don't see it.
• 3:19
We're supposed to pretend that this was handled like it
• 3:21
would have been handled if Andrew were not royal. We're
• 3:25
supposed to pretend that if some random bloke from Woking
• 3:28
gave police an alibi involving a pizza restaurant in a
• 3:31
case connected to trafficking allegations that alibi would not have
• 3:36
been torn apart down to the atoms. We're supposed to
• 3:39
pretend that an ordinary man would have been granted the
• 3:42
same cushion, the same distance, the same oxygen, the same
• 3:46
careful language, the same endless benefit of the doubt. Please,
• 3:52
if this had been anybody else, investigators would have been
• 3:55
up that restaurant's exhaust vent. They would have been tracking
• 3:58
down former employees, ross checking timelines, pulling anything they could
• 4:02
still pull, and interviewing anyone who might remember a royal
• 4:06
face walking through the door. They would not have treated
• 4:09
the alibi like some delicate porcelain heirloom handed down from
• 4:13
the House of Windsor they would have treated it like evidence,
• 4:17
because that's what it's supposed to be. A claim, a
• 4:20
testable claim, a timeline marker, a factual assertion from a
• 4:24
man desperately trying to explain why he could not have
• 4:28
been somewhere else. But because it was Andrew, the whole
• 4:31
thing became theater, and not even good theater, cheap theater,
• 4:34
rotten theater, theater with bad lighting and worse acting. A
• 4:40
prince sat there and told the world he remembered being
• 4:42
at Pizza Express because it was apparently such a memorable
• 4:45
occasion forum a royal man eating chain pizza and woking
• 4:50
the moon landing of middle class dining, and we're all
• 4:53
expected to absorb that like it was a credible shield
• 4:56
against something as serious as what Virginia alleged. And Yo,
• 5:01
let's be honest about why this particular detail became infamous.
• 5:05
It was not just because Pizza Express is funny. It
• 5:09
was because the alibi sounded like it had been assembled
• 5:11
in a panic by people who had never spoken to
• 5:14
normal humans before. It sounded like a committee of palace
• 5:18
handlers locked themselves in a room and said, Yo, we
• 5:21
need something relatable. What do commoners do? Ah, they eat pizza,
• 5:24
where they eat it, somewhere with parking excellence. Send them out.
• 5:28
Then Andrew delivered it with that dead eyed royal certainty,
• 5:33
the confidence of a man who has spent his entire
• 5:35
life being believed by people paid the nod. And that's
• 5:38
what made it so disgusting for me, not merely that
• 5:42
the story's odd, but that he seemed genuinely stunned that
• 5:45
the public did not bow before it. He seemed confused
• 5:48
that people had follow up questions. He seemed offended by skepticism,
• 5:53
as if asking a prince to prove his own alibi
• 5:56
with some vulgar breach of etiquette. And I think that's
• 6:00
that's where the rage comes in, because survivors don't get
• 6:02
that treatment. Survivors don't get to sit down, say one
• 6:05
strange thing, and have half the establishment tiptoe away from scrutiny.
• 6:10
Survivors get carved up. Survivors get their dates challenged, their
• 6:14
memories challenged, their motives challenged, their trauma challenged, their entire
• 6:19
lives dragged through the mud by lawyers, pundits, palace whisperers,
• 6:23
and anonymous sources. Survivors are expected to produce perfect recall
• 6:28
from the worst moments of their lives. But Andrew Andrew says,
• 6:31
pizza Express and the world is invited to treat that
• 6:34
like a sacred royal GPS coordinate. That's the sickness, that
• 6:39
is the two tiered system wearing a paper crown. And
• 6:43
one of the most nauseating parts is that the Pizza
• 6:46
Express angle accidentally exposes the whole scam because it shows
• 6:50
who actually has to worry about consequences. In this world,
• 6:53
the restaurant had to worry, the brand had to worry,
• 6:57
the company had to wonder. Oh wait a minute, are
• 6:59
we now part of this circus? Are we being used
• 7:02
as the backdrop for one of the most infamous royal
• 7:05
alibis in modern history? But the prince, well, the prince
• 7:09
got space, the prince got time, the prince got careful
• 7:13
institutional language. The prince got years of soft landings, palace buffers,
• 7:18
legal insulation, and the kind of elite protection that ordinary
• 7:22
people will never experience in their lives. And that's why
• 7:26
people are furious. Not because of pizza, not because of
• 7:29
a branch and woking, not because of a bad television interview.
• 7:33
People are furious because this ridiculous little detail became a
• 7:37
window into something much darker, a system that knows exactly
• 7:41
how to become aggressive when the target is weak, and
• 7:44
exactly how to become cautious when the target is powerful.
• 7:49
Scotland Yard should have been embarrassed. The British establishment should
• 7:53
have been embarrassed. Every person who ever gave the public
• 7:56
some sanctimonious speech about justice, due process, institutional integrity and
• 8:01
faith in the system should have choked on those words.
• 8:05
The moment of pizza Chain looked more publicly alert than
• 8:08
the people entrusted with accountability, because that is not a
• 8:12
small failure. What that is is a neon sign flashing
• 8:16
over the entire Epstein scandal. Power protects power, and everybody
• 8:20
else gets paperwork. And yo, spare me the lectures about
• 8:25
how complicated it all was. Everything is complicated when the
• 8:29
accused has a title. Everything is complicated when the palace
• 8:33
is involved. Everything is complicated when the powerful need time
• 8:37
to manage the blast radius. But when the accused is poor, unknown, disposable,
• 8:43
or unprotected, suddenly that complexity vanishes. Suddenly the system finds
• 8:48
its spine. Suddenly records can be found, Timelines can be built,
• 8:52
witnesses can be pressured, and every inconsistency becomes a weapon.
• 8:59
That's the fraud, that's the disgrace. That's the part they
• 9:03
want you to stop noticing. Prince Andrews Pizza Express alibi
• 9:08
should have been treated like any other alibi in any
• 9:10
other serious matter. Verify it, challenge it, stress test it,
• 9:15
and if it falls apart, say so. But instead the
• 9:18
whole thing became another example of royal exceptionalism dressed up
• 9:23
as institutional restrain, another case where the powerful float above
• 9:27
the consequences, while survivors are left clawing for recognition from
• 9:31
a system that seems allergic to courage. Because listen, this
• 9:35
is not really about Woking. It's not really about pizza.
• 9:38
It's not even only about Andrews catastrophic interview. It's about
• 9:42
the grotesque humiliation of watching a modern justice system behave
• 9:46
like a palace servant. It's about watching institutions lose their
• 9:49
nerve the moment a royal name enters the room. It's
• 9:53
about the unbearable insult of seeing a chain restaurant appear
• 9:56
more determined to examine a prince's story than the people
• 10:00
who should have been ripping that story apart in the
• 10:02
name of truth. So when people laugh about Pizza Express,
• 10:07
they should remember what they are actually laughing at. They're
• 10:10
laughing because the alternative is rage. They're laughing because the
• 10:14
whole thing is so absurd that it almost hides how
• 10:17
disgusting it is. They're laughing because the prince accused in
• 10:21
connection with Epstein's orbit, gave the world a pizza alibi,
• 10:25
and somehow the system still managed to look more ridiculous
• 10:28
than he did, and look that's not just in competence,
• 10:32
that's not just an embarrassment. That's elite protection in its
• 10:36
purest ugliest form. A survivor gets a microscope, a prince
• 10:41
gets a cushion, And, apparently, in modern Britain, if you
• 10:45
want someone to take a royal alibi seriously enough to
• 10:48
actually look into it, don't call the institutions of justice,
• 10:52
call the Dan Pizza Place. All the information that goes
