- 0:02Speaker 1: Gabe glidden.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Since I am a Cuban person, I'm allowed to say
- 0:09Speaker 2: what I'm about to say this way, Gabe.
- 0:13Speaker 1: You got some splaining to do.
- 0:15Speaker 3: Okay.
- 0:17Speaker 2: I walked into something this morning in your office, and
- 0:20Speaker 2: I need you to explain what because I here's the thing.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Gabe and I each have our own offices. However, my
- 0:30Speaker 2: office is always vacant because it's more fun for us
- 0:33Speaker 2: to do show prep and all the stuff in one office.
- 0:37Speaker 2: And Gabe's office was already situated. It's got Mandalorian and
- 0:41Speaker 2: grogu on the wall like it's a whole little vibe
- 0:44Speaker 2: Gabe's office. So since I started at Big ninety eight
- 0:47Speaker 2: point seven, I just I hang out in Gabe's office.
- 0:50Speaker 1: I pull up the chair to the desk. It's a
- 0:53Speaker 1: grand old time.
- 0:53Speaker 4: Angie calls it Gabe's office. I just call it the
- 0:56Speaker 4: or off Okay, yeah, so the office.
- 0:59Speaker 2: And so when I leave for the day, I leave
- 1:01Speaker 2: my headphones in the office, and then when I come
- 1:04Speaker 2: to work the next morning, I grab my headphones from
- 1:08Speaker 2: the office.
- 1:09Speaker 1: But today and you were not in the office, Gabe.
- 1:13Speaker 2: But when I walked in to grab my headphones, I
- 1:18Speaker 2: saw something bizarre and I'm not going to go to HR.
- 1:22Speaker 2: I feel like I'll just bring it on air and
- 1:25Speaker 2: you can explain yourself.
- 1:27Speaker 1: There was a bottle of Kurrel lotion with the pump
- 1:34Speaker 1: situated next to.
- 1:37Speaker 2: A few paper towels that were kind of crumpled. And what.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Is that? Why is that?
- 1:47Speaker 2: That wasn't there yesterday? That wasn't there yesterday? Why did
- 1:51Speaker 2: I walk in this morning? You got to work first.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Why did I walk in this morning and find a
- 1:57Speaker 2: bottle of Kurel lotion with the pump next to kind
- 2:01Speaker 2: of must up paper towels?
- 2:03Speaker 1: Like I am concerned?
- 2:06Speaker 4: Well, I got to work before you. I had some
- 2:08Speaker 4: alone time. No, no, uh, you know what is actually
- 2:13Speaker 4: very funny about that both of those items uh huh.
- 2:19Speaker 4: You gave me the way the paper towel had sunflower
- 2:26Speaker 4: seeds in them that you put in you brought I.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Didn't see any sunflower seeds on them.
- 2:33Speaker 4: There were some sunflowers I folded over so the cleaning
- 2:36Speaker 4: staff doesn't throw them in the garbage. I didn't know
- 2:38Speaker 4: where to put them yesterday, and so they're just on
- 2:42Speaker 4: my desk. Okay, what you graciously brought me? Who gave
- 2:47Speaker 4: me those sunflower seeds in that paper towel.
- 2:51Speaker 1: But then what about the lotion?
- 2:53Speaker 4: You know, it's also funny about the lotion. The lotion
- 2:56Speaker 4: is from your office. If you don't know this about me,
- 3:00Speaker 4: I have psoriasis, so I really have to kind of
- 3:03Speaker 4: keep up on lotioning my skin.
- 3:06Speaker 3: And do you know what is so funny?
- 3:09Speaker 4: Before I left yesterday, you know, I was trying to
- 3:12Speaker 4: get some lotion on some patchy parts of my skin.
- 3:14Speaker 3: Not that like gets rid of it, but it just helps.
- 3:17Speaker 4: Right right, I sat and I thought for two minutes
- 3:21Speaker 4: on where can I put this currel lotion so.
- 3:25Speaker 3: It does not look weird in this office. I thought
- 3:28Speaker 3: about it forever. I don't want to put it. I
- 3:31Speaker 3: don't want to put it next to the laptop.
- 3:33Speaker 4: I can't put it at the front of the dead
- 3:34Speaker 4: Like where do I put this?
- 3:36Speaker 1: Oh that's funny? Well, yeah, I think there is no
- 3:40Speaker 1: good place.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Because and it didn't because you knew there were sunflower
- 3:44Speaker 2: seeds in the napkins. But like, that looks bad. You
- 3:48Speaker 2: left a bottle of lotion next to paper towel.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Sir, that was not the move.
- 3:54Speaker 4: But I don't regret a thing, to be honest, I
- 3:58Speaker 4: just find it kind of.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Either way, there would be seeds in the paper. Pat.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Oh, I just celebrating life's little victories.
- 4:12Speaker 5: Every morning we practice gratitude on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 4:15Speaker 3: If I could, I would keep this feeling in a
- 4:17Speaker 3: basket job busted out when it was someone's acting hard.
- 4:21Speaker 5: Share your little victories with us at seven oh one
- 4:24Speaker 5: two eight oho one ninety eight seven.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Kids, I also needed to win that day and see,
- 4:31Speaker 3: do you have a little victory for us this morning?
- 4:33Speaker 2: I cannot believe this happened. Yesterday. I took a nap
- 4:39Speaker 2: at four pm. Okay, not the most ideal time to
- 4:43Speaker 2: take a nap, because then you know, you wake up,
- 4:46Speaker 2: and for me, bedtime is like seven pm, and.
- 4:50Speaker 1: So I was worried. Great now I'm not going to
- 4:54Speaker 1: be able to fall asleep. I fell asleep at four
- 4:57Speaker 1: for this nap.
- 4:58Speaker 2: I got up around five third and then at six
- 5:02Speaker 2: point thirty I went to bed and then knocked out.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Oh, you're able to go back to sleep.
- 5:08Speaker 2: I could not believe it. Like your girl was so exhausted.
- 5:15Speaker 2: I think it was just like I.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Kind of after vacation.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Then we went right into Happy Harry's rib fest, and
- 5:22Speaker 2: I feel like, I was just kind of like, go go, go,
- 5:24Speaker 2: go go, and I haven't really given my body a
- 5:26Speaker 2: chance to fully rest.
- 5:28Speaker 1: And yesterday I was like, good, you tired, just to
- 5:32Speaker 1: go night night. Yeah, And I did. And I feel
- 5:34Speaker 1: so good.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Today, super refreshed. I think like I'm back to one
- 5:39Speaker 2: hundred percent. So I'm really excited.
- 5:42Speaker 3: That is wonderful. I'm happy for you.
- 5:44Speaker 4: It's not necessarily rare, but it is, i'd say, not
- 5:48Speaker 4: common for a nap to work out in like your
- 5:53Speaker 4: or my favor. A lot of times, ye know, we
- 5:56Speaker 4: do the nap and it's actually almost worse.
- 5:58Speaker 1: It's detrimentalus usual fight it.
- 6:00Speaker 3: Off and go to bed earlier. But I'm glad it
- 6:02Speaker 3: worked out for you.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Yeah. I didn't even realize I was going to take
- 6:05Speaker 2: the nap. I just passed out on the couch and now.
- 6:10Speaker 1: And then I woke up and I was like, oh man,
- 6:12Speaker 1: but just kidding. I got right back to sleep. It
- 6:14Speaker 1: was glorious. What about you, Gabe, what is your little victory?
- 6:18Speaker 4: My little victory is today I do not have my standard.
- 6:23Speaker 3: I mean it, you.
- 6:24Speaker 4: Could set your watch by the eight fifty five to
- 6:28Speaker 4: nine am soup. Oh that's right, yea that I have
- 6:31Speaker 4: every single day for us, which would probably be considered
- 6:35Speaker 4: lunch because nine am is about half of our work day,
- 6:38Speaker 4: pretty much correct. I have got leftover Casa Mexico, Angie,
- 6:46Speaker 4: Mine's lunch date yesterday, And let me tell you, I
- 6:50Speaker 4: could not be more thrilled to dive on in to
- 6:54Speaker 4: this steak burrito with the beans and the rights.
- 6:57Speaker 3: I did save half. I was going to give it
- 6:59Speaker 3: to my wife.
- 7:00Speaker 4: Yeah, And when she got home there was something she
- 7:03Speaker 4: wanted to make or had to make. She had to
- 7:05Speaker 4: get it done before I don't know, it's sat in
- 7:07Speaker 4: the fridge too long.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Yeah, before the expiry, Yeah.
- 7:09Speaker 3: Something like that.
- 7:10Speaker 4: Yeah, And so she was like, no, I'll just eat that,
- 7:12Speaker 4: so you can either eat it or save it or whatever.
- 7:14Speaker 4: So I saved it and I brought it to lunch
- 7:15Speaker 4: or brought it to work today. I could not be
- 7:18Speaker 4: looking more forward to doing this show and then this
- 7:22Speaker 4: show being over for nine o'clock. Oh my god, that
- 7:25Speaker 4: breakfast lunch.
- 7:26Speaker 2: I guess it's gonna smell so good in the breakroom
- 7:30Speaker 2: and in your office. The other thing is if you
- 7:33Speaker 2: want to get in on the delicious food at Gosa Mexico,
- 7:38Speaker 2: you can.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Yeah, we have a chance for you.
- 7:41Speaker 2: So if you go to our Facebook page, we've got
- 7:43Speaker 2: a little video up that'll give you the instructions on
- 7:47Speaker 2: how you could potentially win a fifty dollars gift card.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Took Gasa Mexico. I did not have leftovers.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I hate everything right there.
- 7:54Speaker 4: So there you go, fit and fifty dollars. I mean,
- 7:56Speaker 4: that's a lot of tacos, burritos or Margarita's. However you
- 8:00Speaker 4: want to spend it is your fifty dollars. So check
- 8:03Speaker 4: that out on the Big ninety eight point seven Facebook page. Now,
- 8:07Speaker 4: Jason Sadaikas very rarely talks about his personal life and
- 8:11Speaker 4: definitely his dating life, but he talked a little bit
- 8:14Speaker 4: about his split from Olivia Wilde and yeah it was daunting,
- 8:20Speaker 4: you know, in this rare comment about his personal life.
- 8:22Speaker 3: And that is a good question.
- 8:24Speaker 4: The hardest part about dating after leaving a long term relationship.
- 8:28Speaker 4: You know, the world, how life, I feel like, is
- 8:31Speaker 4: just full of stages. And you'll find out something if
- 8:34Speaker 4: you're in your twenties, right, and maybe you have friends
- 8:37Speaker 4: who have this already, but when you get into your
- 8:39Speaker 4: thirties is really when I personally have started to notice,
- 8:43Speaker 4: you know, friends splitting up from people who that's like
- 8:45Speaker 4: kind of the first, for his lack of a better term,
- 8:49Speaker 4: the first rotation of divorces.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I mean hello, right, me is.
- 8:55Speaker 4: In thirties, and you know, it's interesting talking to them
- 8:59Speaker 4: about going back into the dating world.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Yeah, I have a girlfriend who she just split from
- 9:04Speaker 2: her they were together for like, gosh, eleven years or something,
- 9:09Speaker 2: and they recently split, and so she's she's going into
- 9:13Speaker 2: like hot girl summer, but she wants to get back
- 9:17Speaker 2: in the dating pool. It's one of those they recently split,
- 9:19Speaker 2: but you knew the relationship was over for however long, right,
- 9:23Speaker 2: So it's not like you're still grieving the relationship. It's
- 9:25Speaker 2: just sometimes it takes a while to like tie up
- 9:28Speaker 2: all those loose.
- 9:29Speaker 1: Ends, especially if you have kids.
- 9:30Speaker 2: So she'd been ready to date, and she just really
- 9:34Speaker 2: is like, what, how where do you start? She is
- 9:39Speaker 2: on the dating apps for her, She said that right now,
- 9:42Speaker 2: the hardest thing is like not bringing up her ex
- 9:47Speaker 2: when she's talking to somebody new.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Sure that's where and.
- 9:51Speaker 2: She's like, gosh, but he was so the biggest part
- 9:54Speaker 2: of my life for so long. It's hard to tell
- 9:57Speaker 2: stories without being like, oh, yeah, I was with my
- 10:00Speaker 2: ex and.
- 10:00Speaker 3: Blah blah blah.
- 10:01Speaker 1: And I'm like, girl, I don't know, you're gonna try
- 10:03Speaker 1: to figure out how to not include it.
- 10:05Speaker 3: Yeah, that's when you just say me and the kids.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Yeah, there the attend the dad.
- 10:10Speaker 4: Was absent the whole time, right, And hopefully I would
- 10:13Speaker 4: like to hope if the dude is a good dude,
- 10:15Speaker 4: he can understand like that, you know, they are together forever.
- 10:18Speaker 4: There's gonna be a lot of stories that I'm sure
- 10:21Speaker 4: he was around for No, for sure, but.
- 10:24Speaker 2: I think just that that's what she was saying to me,
- 10:26Speaker 2: is like, one of the hardest things is not just
- 10:29Speaker 2: always having the X in the picture when you don't
- 10:31Speaker 2: want to have your ex in the picture.
- 10:33Speaker 4: Right, Yeah, seven oh one two eight zero one nine
- 10:35Speaker 4: eight seven. This might be something you're kind of working
- 10:39Speaker 4: through right now. What's the hardest part about dating after
- 10:42Speaker 4: leaving a long term relationship? And we start off with Victoria.
- 10:48Speaker 4: I don't know if you're being funny or not, so
- 10:50Speaker 4: I apologize for laughing, but Victoria says it is hard
- 10:54Speaker 4: to find someone new as a senior citizen. I'm sorry,
- 10:59Speaker 4: I don't know that's meant to be funny or not.
- 11:01Speaker 4: But you know, people find love at all kinds of
- 11:04Speaker 4: stages in life.
- 11:05Speaker 1: That's true.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Mikey found love with me and he's a senior citizen.
- 11:08Speaker 3: See what I'm saying.
- 11:09Speaker 4: Yeah, we do have Michelle on the phone, Michelle, what
- 11:13Speaker 4: about you. The hardest part about dating after leaving a
- 11:15Speaker 4: long term relationship.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Not comparing everyone to your ex, not in a romantic way.
- 11:20Speaker 3: Just like in a habit way. My ex loved hiking.
- 11:23Speaker 3: One guy hated hiking. And I caught myself thinking, well,
- 11:26Speaker 3: that's weird. No, Tarah, that's just a different human being.
- 11:30Speaker 3: Oh my gosh.
- 11:31Speaker 2: That's so fun that that's so real, the comparison.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Yeah, one thousand.
- 11:38Speaker 1: You know what, at least Tara like kept it to herself.
- 11:40Speaker 1: She didn't say it to the person.
- 11:42Speaker 3: That's right.
- 11:43Speaker 4: We also had Desiree, who said what you learned from
- 11:46Speaker 4: it and what you should on learn from it. Yeah,
- 11:50Speaker 4: it's kind of crazy. When you're with someone for a
- 11:52Speaker 4: super long time. You know, you learn how to navigate life.
- 11:54Speaker 4: And I don't mean in necessarily a toxic way, but
- 11:56Speaker 4: you just learn how to kind of get through the day.
- 11:59Speaker 4: You get in a routine, you get in habits. When
- 12:01Speaker 4: do we eat dinner, When do we sit down and
- 12:03Speaker 4: have pillow talk? When does he go to sleep? When
- 12:06Speaker 4: do I go to sleep? Having to unlearn all these
- 12:09Speaker 4: new things, But I guess that's what could make it
- 12:11Speaker 4: exciting about someone new.
- 12:12Speaker 2: I know that when I got out of my relationship
- 12:15Speaker 2: with my ex, there were definitely things that I at
- 12:19Speaker 2: the very least knew that I didn't want in the
- 12:21Speaker 2: new relationship. So when Mike and I started, I was
- 12:25Speaker 2: very upfront like, hey, these are xyz things that are
- 12:30Speaker 2: absolute deal breakers for me, like from jump as opposed
- 12:34Speaker 2: to like going through the relationship. And then maybe these
- 12:37Speaker 2: things pop up and it's like, ah, crap, like I
- 12:39Speaker 2: should have mentioned something earlier.
- 12:41Speaker 4: Yeah, and I do kind of like what Mike said
- 12:42Speaker 4: here will end on this. Mike said, finding someone after
- 12:46Speaker 4: you're both kind of set in your own ways, when
- 12:48Speaker 4: you're used to being by yourself, sometimes it's hard for
- 12:51Speaker 4: either to adjust to some things, which is so true,
- 12:55Speaker 4: whether you're adjusting to things that like you had mentioned
- 12:59Speaker 4: from your past relationship, like hey, I don't want this anymore,
- 13:02Speaker 4: or things that you did that it's like I probably,
- 13:05Speaker 4: like I could see why that'd be annoying or frustrating
- 13:07Speaker 4: for someone else. I got to break this habit. That's
- 13:09Speaker 4: what I would guess is breaking, like just old habits
- 13:13Speaker 4: one way or the other, good or bad.
- 13:15Speaker 1: So like the consensus is that dating.
- 13:17Speaker 3: Is hard, I think.
- 13:19Speaker 4: So I checked the old transactions in the banking app
- 13:32Speaker 4: this morning. I had no clue that there's a streaming
- 13:38Speaker 4: service I'm going to need to get rid of.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Oh my god, I hate when that happened.
- 13:43Speaker 4: I had no clue how much this costs, and it's
- 13:47Speaker 4: it actually is starting to.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Take you off.
- 13:51Speaker 4: Yeah, thank you for cleaning that up for me. It's
- 13:53Speaker 4: really starting to upset me if I'm being honest, And
- 13:55Speaker 4: there's multiple things that it's like, how can this.
- 13:58Speaker 3: Cost so much?
- 13:59Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 14:00Speaker 3: I saw Netflix. I don't even know if we have
- 14:02Speaker 3: the good one.
- 14:04Speaker 1: Thirty three dollars stop one.
- 14:07Speaker 3: I got charge thirty three dollars from Netflix.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Okay, then I think the morning one. I think you
- 14:12Speaker 1: have the good one?
- 14:14Speaker 3: Can I get the poor one?
- 14:15Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 14:15Speaker 2: Want this fun fact? The poor one's still expensive. That's
- 14:19Speaker 2: the one I haven't And every time the charge comes out,
- 14:21Speaker 2: I'm like, I hate it.
- 14:23Speaker 4: I have no clue what our streaming services cost none.
- 14:26Speaker 4: I'm gonna have to start paying attention and.
- 14:28Speaker 2: No, you're gonna add those together, and you're gonna say,
- 14:30Speaker 2: should I switch to cable?
- 14:32Speaker 4: It's incredible? Yeah, thirty three dollars. You know what else
- 14:36Speaker 4: drives me nuts? Is there anything that just costs so
- 14:39Speaker 4: much these days that it actually upsets you when you
- 14:42Speaker 4: see it? Seven zho one two eight zero one eight seven?
- 14:45Speaker 4: Do you know what else drives me nuts? And I
- 14:48Speaker 4: have learned to just accept this. I've told you this
- 14:51Speaker 4: millions of times here on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 14:53Speaker 4: But if I go out to a concert or a
- 14:55Speaker 4: sporting event, I just accept that.
- 14:58Speaker 3: Okay, well I'm gonna spend two hundred.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Dollars, Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 15:01Speaker 3: I try not to care about the price. I just go.
- 15:03Speaker 3: You know what my money's gone for now? Yeah.
- 15:06Speaker 4: It still drives me nuts that if you want to
- 15:09Speaker 4: go watch, you know, like the Vike's play or whatever
- 15:12Speaker 4: sporting event, and you pay eighteen dollars or twenty bucks
- 15:17Speaker 4: for a bush light, it costs how much could it
- 15:22Speaker 4: really cost them to have that bush light there?
- 15:24Speaker 3: A dollar? You know? It's so funny to make it
- 15:26Speaker 3: eighteen bucks off of it?
- 15:28Speaker 2: I am from Vegas, and so all I know is
- 15:33Speaker 2: stadium prices for everything across the board, so it doesn't
- 15:37Speaker 2: feel ever surprising to me, but it is always annoying.
- 15:41Speaker 2: It's always annoying. I went to see Britney Spears in Vegas.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Wants thirty six dollars for the cocktail. I got thirty
- 15:49Speaker 2: six dollars.
- 15:52Speaker 1: That crime.
- 15:52Speaker 4: That better have been like sixty year old corked to Kila?
- 15:57Speaker 4: Are you kidding as it?
- 15:58Speaker 1: I know the price of literally anything.
- 16:01Speaker 2: The one that upsets me is because we just had
- 16:04Speaker 2: to do this a couple of weeks ago, and I'm
- 16:06Speaker 2: still thinking about it. I think dishwasher pods are so
- 16:11Speaker 2: expensive for no reason.
- 16:14Speaker 1: I'm mad about it.
- 16:15Speaker 4: I don't remember the last time I looked at the
- 16:17Speaker 4: price of a dishwasher pod. It's expensive, but now I'm
- 16:20Speaker 4: gonna be looking now. I also feel bad for.
- 16:23Speaker 2: And I go to Costco to get mine, and like,
- 16:25Speaker 2: I know that it's cheaper. I know that it's cheaper,
- 16:28Speaker 2: and it still feels like way too much.
- 16:30Speaker 4: Yeah, you know who else I feel bad for? And
- 16:32Speaker 4: I don't want to upset any university in the FM area,
- 16:35Speaker 4: but I always feel bad for college kids. College textbooks
- 16:39Speaker 4: that you'll use for four oh yeah, use them for
- 16:42Speaker 4: four months. You'll pay hundreds of dollars, and then when
- 16:46Speaker 4: you go to try to resell it, you'll get ten
- 16:49Speaker 4: dollars or something bad that it's almost insulting at a point. Yeah,
- 16:53Speaker 4: seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 16:56Speaker 4: Is there something that drives you nuts that costs so much?
- 17:02Speaker 4: And you're like, there's gotta be a way around this,
- 17:04Speaker 4: or there has to be someone is eating real good
- 17:07Speaker 4: whoever is inventing college textbooks? Okay, I'm gonna write I'm
- 17:10Speaker 4: gonna write me my own textbook in college. What do
- 17:12Speaker 4: you think about that? We do have, Brenn on the phone, Bryn,
- 17:15Speaker 4: what costs too much? That actually makes you upset?
- 17:18Speaker 6: I remember when booking a flight felt exciting, and now
- 17:21Speaker 6: I click on a one hundred and ninety nine dollars fare,
- 17:23Speaker 6: get to check out, and somehow it's four hundred and
- 17:26Speaker 6: thirty seven dollars before you even picked a seat.
- 17:28Speaker 3: Yeah, that's right.
- 17:29Speaker 2: This is my stress right now is because my kids
- 17:32Speaker 2: have to go be with their dad for the summer
- 17:34Speaker 2: and I'm looking up flights right now and it is
- 17:37Speaker 2: my brain is broken. I'm trying to figure out how
- 17:40Speaker 2: to get them there without it costing me like a
- 17:43Speaker 2: rent payment.
- 17:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:44Speaker 4: Crazy, And then you have to try to perfect the
- 17:46Speaker 4: way to fly with all your stuff in like a backpack.
- 17:50Speaker 1: Oh well, I'm hack. I've mastered that at the very least,
- 17:55Speaker 1: but yeah, it's rough.
- 17:56Speaker 4: And then there's the fees added on. It's it's insane.
- 17:59Speaker 4: Joe said, what about you will costs too much? And
- 18:01Speaker 4: it actually makes you a little bit man.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Rent rent goes out, My salary stays the same, But
- 18:06Speaker 3: how is that fair? Like shouldn't wages increase along with
- 18:09Speaker 3: everything else?
- 18:10Speaker 4: There's something about you know that what do they say,
- 18:12Speaker 4: like five percent rays every year just because of cost
- 18:17Speaker 4: of living?
- 18:18Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 18:19Speaker 4: What?
- 18:19Speaker 2: Growing up, I always heard about rent control departments on sitcoms.
- 18:24Speaker 1: I would like one of those right now.
- 18:26Speaker 4: Seven oh one two eight zero one eight seven. I
- 18:29Speaker 4: was shocked when I saw what Netflix costs the Glitten
- 18:33Speaker 4: household that there might be a conversation with my wife, Hey,
- 18:37Speaker 4: how often are we really watching things on Netflix?
- 18:39Speaker 3: Okay?
- 18:40Speaker 4: Or can we cancel it until we need to watch
- 18:42Speaker 4: the thing? Let's cancel that. We got Harry Potter and
- 18:45Speaker 4: a new Game of Thrones coming up? With HBO family
- 18:49Speaker 4: for the next thirty days.
- 18:52Speaker 5: In the world of rules in Gray Areas, one morning
- 18:55Speaker 5: show dares to ask the hard.
- 18:56Speaker 3: Questions, we both know you guilty. He's guilty. Is it
- 19:00Speaker 3: legal you're guilty of the worst crime of all? On
- 19:04Speaker 3: Big ninety eight point seven.
- 19:07Speaker 4: Today is election day and maybe you're at work or
- 19:10Speaker 4: you're on your way to work, and you're thinking, I
- 19:12Speaker 4: don't have time to vote. My boss will never let
- 19:14Speaker 4: me leave. Well, is it legal for your employer to
- 19:18Speaker 4: stop you? And this is kind of interesting because in
- 19:21Speaker 4: Minnesota and North Dakota it's very different. In Minnesota, absolutely no,
- 19:26Speaker 4: can they stop you. State law in Minnesota say employers
- 19:30Speaker 4: must give workers enough paid time to get to the polls,
- 19:34Speaker 4: cast their ballot, and return to work. Your pay can't
- 19:38Speaker 4: be docked and your boss can't tell you to vote
- 19:41Speaker 4: on your lunch break. In North Dakota it's a little
- 19:45Speaker 4: bit different. Employers are encouraged to allow time off of
- 19:50Speaker 4: your work schedule if it conflicts with polling hours, but
- 19:54Speaker 4: unlike Minnesota, state law does not require paid time off
- 19:58Speaker 4: to vote. They're encouraged, but they don't legally have to
- 20:01Speaker 4: give it to you. If you say I got to
- 20:02Speaker 4: run to vote. You know, they could technically dock your
- 20:06Speaker 4: pay for the thirty or forty five minutes.
- 20:08Speaker 2: Employers don't be like that. Let your employees go vote.
- 20:13Speaker 2: It's their civic.
- 20:14Speaker 3: Duty, that's right.
- 20:15Speaker 4: If you're worried about finding time to vote today, know
- 20:18Speaker 4: your rights and you just kind of learned them there
- 20:20Speaker 4: or lack thereof, depending on how you look at it.
- 20:23Speaker 4: And you know, I will also suggest I'm going to
- 20:26Speaker 4: vote sounds a lot more official than I'm sneaking out
- 20:30Speaker 4: for a really long lunch break. So if you do
- 20:32Speaker 4: want to go vote today, I would like to hope
- 20:35Speaker 4: most of the time your boss will kind of understand that.
- 20:38Speaker 4: But it is just something to be aware of that. Legally,
- 20:40Speaker 4: they don't have to let you vote here in North Dakota.
- 20:42Speaker 1: But in Minnesota.
- 20:44Speaker 4: Yes, and we got this very interesting voicemail from Andrew.
- 20:50Speaker 4: Big shout out to Andrew. I think it's kind of
- 20:52Speaker 4: cool if people want to call and be part of
- 20:54Speaker 4: the Big ninety eight point seven morning show, but they
- 20:56Speaker 4: call it like one in the afternoon, Angie and Iron
- 20:59Speaker 4: in the studio at that time. But we do love
- 21:01Speaker 4: when you leave messages that we can use. And Andrew
- 21:04Speaker 4: had this interesting thing to say about something to do
- 21:07Speaker 4: with his mother and potentially moving back home.
- 21:10Speaker 3: Let me play it for you.
- 21:11Speaker 6: My mother said I should move back in with them
- 21:13Speaker 6: so I can save money. I'm thirty years old and
- 21:16Speaker 6: I'm actually considering it.
- 21:18Speaker 3: Am I crazy? Or is that not a great idea?
- 21:21Speaker 4: At thirty years old? Would you move back to your
- 21:24Speaker 4: parents' house? And now it's to save money? He didn't
- 21:27Speaker 4: say he was in like dire need of a home
- 21:31Speaker 4: to save Yeah, he's not in a tent living by
- 21:35Speaker 4: the red River. Okay, you know he's just trying to
- 21:38Speaker 4: save money. Would you consider this? Seven oh one two
- 21:42Speaker 4: eight zero one nine eight seven. Let us know what
- 21:45Speaker 4: you would do, Angie. I'm curious what you would do. I, at.
- 21:48Speaker 1: Thirty eight years old with my two.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Children, would love to move in with my mom, and
- 21:56Speaker 2: not even to save money.
- 21:58Speaker 1: I just want to live with her.
- 22:01Speaker 2: I love spending time with my mom, which is wild
- 22:04Speaker 2: because I know that you have heard me a timer
- 22:07Speaker 2: seventeen complaining about my mom.
- 22:11Speaker 3: But it's like everyone does.
- 22:12Speaker 2: Yeah, like everyone does. She has complaints about me, but
- 22:15Speaker 2: I would love to live with her again. I keep
- 22:16Speaker 2: trying to get her to move out here. And she
- 22:18Speaker 2: won't do it. Uh yeah, I feel like, if that's
- 22:22Speaker 2: an option for you and it doesn't destroy your mental health,
- 22:26Speaker 2: move back in with your parents to save money in
- 22:29Speaker 2: twenty twenty six, in the big twenty twenty six, in
- 22:33Speaker 2: this economy, if you need to save money and moving
- 22:36Speaker 2: back with your parents is a viable option, I would do.
- 22:39Speaker 1: It for sure.
- 22:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:41Speaker 4: Do you know when you're like six years old, Uh
- 22:45Speaker 4: huh and you build forts on of cardboard boxes.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:49Speaker 4: I would rather build a fort and live in that
- 22:52Speaker 4: cardboard box house then move back.
- 22:54Speaker 3: Into my parents' house.
- 22:56Speaker 4: Really. Now.
- 22:56Speaker 3: I love my parents to death. They are the best.
- 22:59Speaker 4: I would not trade them for anything, But I could
- 23:01Speaker 4: not live in that house anymore. I have been just
- 23:05Speaker 4: out of there for so long. I'm too used to
- 23:09Speaker 4: I don't know, being able to do whatever I want
- 23:12Speaker 4: whenever I want. Because when you move back in with
- 23:14Speaker 4: your parents while you're an adult and you can still
- 23:16Speaker 4: kind of do whatever, I think, you still got to
- 23:19Speaker 4: be mindful that they are there.
- 23:21Speaker 3: You can't have your.
- 23:22Speaker 4: Buddies rolling over at eleven thirty for a couple garage beers.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, I didn't think about like having friends
- 23:29Speaker 2: over what life i'm living.
- 23:31Speaker 4: Yeah, I can't have any garage beers listening to Creed
- 23:34Speaker 4: at twelve thirty in the morning, like a lot of
- 23:36Speaker 4: dudes do in their garage.
- 23:37Speaker 3: I just couldn't. It's just.
- 23:40Speaker 1: And even it would just see you a ton of money.
- 23:44Speaker 4: Yeah, it would just be so tough not having the
- 23:48Speaker 4: same amount of freedom that I have had since I
- 23:51Speaker 4: basically was like eighteen years old. I love when I
- 23:54Speaker 4: get to go there for an extended three, four or
- 23:56Speaker 4: five day period of time, but I after seven days,
- 24:00Speaker 4: I'm probably out.
- 24:01Speaker 2: You know what, In my house, it was as long
- 24:05Speaker 2: as you live under my roof, it's my rules, no
- 24:07Speaker 2: matter what age you are. So like, I was still
- 24:10Speaker 2: living with my mom when I was twenty years old
- 24:13Speaker 2: and I was pregnant, and it was still like but
- 24:18Speaker 2: her rules go. So you know, now that I'm thinking
- 24:21Speaker 2: about it, no, I couldn't use some more rules and structure.
- 24:24Speaker 1: I want my mom to let me move back off.
- 24:26Speaker 3: See that's another thing.
- 24:28Speaker 4: At thirty years old, there would be so many just
- 24:32Speaker 4: bickering disagreements about like, well, dad, I'm thirty, Okay, I'll
- 24:36Speaker 4: go I'll do whatever I want right now, you know,
- 24:38Speaker 4: but you are right if you're living there, especially rent free. Yeah,
- 24:43Speaker 4: just kind of at the old beck and call a
- 24:44Speaker 4: dear mom and dad. Do you remember having to go
- 24:46Speaker 4: grab the groceries for mom when you were seventeen. I
- 24:50Speaker 4: don't want to do this at thirty. I'm on my
- 24:52Speaker 4: way to Happy Harry's to grab me a twelve pack
- 24:56Speaker 4: and come back home and do nothing for the next
- 24:58Speaker 4: six hours.
- 24:59Speaker 3: I don't know, play call of Duty with my buddy Jake.
- 25:02Speaker 3: I don't want to do this.
- 25:03Speaker 2: Well, Andrew, I guess the thing is, like you have
- 25:05Speaker 2: to really like weigh the pros and CODs. If you're
- 25:08Speaker 2: fine with if you don't have that kind of dynamic
- 25:12Speaker 2: with your parents where you feel like it's going to
- 25:14Speaker 2: drive you crazy, I think go for it, But you
- 25:16Speaker 2: have to like really think about it. Yeah, think about
- 25:18Speaker 2: what that's really like, because.
- 25:19Speaker 1: In theory it does sound very cool.
- 25:21Speaker 2: I'll just move back, save some money free, But then
- 25:23Speaker 2: does that like have too many caveats?
- 25:27Speaker 4: Yeah, whether you're thirty, forty fifty years old, if you do,
- 25:31Speaker 4: you know, move back in with mom and dad, which
- 25:32Speaker 4: there's nothing wrong with, you will go back to being
- 25:36Speaker 4: fifteen to sixteen years old.
- 25:37Speaker 3: Oh awesome, it's inevitable?
- 25:39Speaker 1: Are you in the dating world?
- 25:40Speaker 2: Because while there's nothing wrong with living with your parents
- 25:43Speaker 2: to save money, if you are trying to get a date,
- 25:47Speaker 2: I think that could pose some problem.
- 25:49Speaker 4: You're always going back to her house. All right, we'll
- 25:51Speaker 4: tell you that. I'm so seven oh one two, eight
- 25:53Speaker 4: zero one, nine eighty seven.
- 25:55Speaker 3: What would you do?
- 25:55Speaker 4: What do you think if you had the option? You know,
- 25:57Speaker 4: all was fine, but you were just trying to save
- 25:59Speaker 4: a couple bucks, would you move back in with your parents?
- 26:10Speaker 4: A study has found when men don't equally share the
- 26:16Speaker 4: chores around the house, it turns women off. Literally many
- 26:23Speaker 4: women have called this a libido killer?
- 26:28Speaker 3: Is this true? Ladies?
- 26:29Speaker 4: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 26:33Speaker 4: You know what, Angie, I'm about to have a baby
- 26:35Speaker 4: or so in a month. You could tell I've been
- 26:36Speaker 4: doing the dishes I have got I have I have
- 26:44Speaker 4: got a list of chores here and would you do
- 26:48Speaker 4: me a favorite, Angie? Would you rank these on the
- 26:51Speaker 4: uh A hotness scalek of like you know, a Revy upscale?
- 26:56Speaker 6: Oh?
- 26:57Speaker 1: Okay, the rev up scale. I like that.
- 26:59Speaker 4: I just need a ranking of one to five, okay,
- 27:02Speaker 4: one to five, one to ten is way too large
- 27:04Speaker 4: one to five. Okay, and I'm and I'm even gonna
- 27:07Speaker 4: say these in like a way to help.
- 27:09Speaker 2: Oh no, everything's a zero, my d No, okayllry, Okay, Angie,
- 27:15Speaker 2: what about you know your man's you come home to
- 27:18Speaker 2: your man's right, and you walk in the door and
- 27:20Speaker 2: your man's like, hey, Angie, I did the dishes.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Oh that's a that's a four.
- 27:26Speaker 3: That's a four on the one to five. All right, yeah,
- 27:29Speaker 3: all right, Angie.
- 27:30Speaker 4: What about hey, babe, the laundry is done five five?
- 27:36Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a that's guaranteed.
- 27:39Speaker 4: Yes, Oh, good for mikey Okay, what about uh, hey, honey,
- 27:45Speaker 4: I took out the trash.
- 27:47Speaker 1: That's a two.
- 27:48Speaker 3: I'll be honest, that's not that doesn't really do it either. Okay,
- 27:52Speaker 3: what about and.
- 27:52Speaker 4: See, I this could go one of two ways for you,
- 27:56Speaker 4: because I believe this is one of your favorite chores.
- 27:58Speaker 4: So I don't know if you'd like it done by
- 28:01Speaker 4: someone else. Okay, Angie walks in the door, Hey honey,
- 28:07Speaker 4: I vacuumed and swept the floors.
- 28:10Speaker 1: We are breaking up.
- 28:11Speaker 2: That's your favorite choor don't take that away from me.
- 28:15Speaker 4: And if you're just tuning in here, this morning on
- 28:16Speaker 4: Big ninety eight point seven, and you're going, what that
- 28:19Speaker 4: is going on? We have learned this morning that ladies
- 28:24Speaker 4: are quite literally turned off when the household chores aren't
- 28:29Speaker 4: at the very least kind of split fifty yah. It
- 28:32Speaker 4: is a libido killer. So if you are a dude
- 28:35Speaker 4: and you got yourself a wife or a girlfriend, all right,
- 28:38Speaker 4: get to emptying that dishwasher this morning. Yeah, okay, I
- 28:41Speaker 4: have one more for you here, Angie. You get home,
- 28:46Speaker 4: you walk in and you see Mikey who just finished
- 28:49Speaker 4: cleaning the bathroom.
- 28:52Speaker 2: I'm taking my clothes off right now.
- 29:04Speaker 4: If you do not know this about our sweet Angie
- 29:07Speaker 4: here on Big ninety eight point seven, she has a
- 29:09Speaker 4: birthday coming up here in July. And there was a
- 29:13Speaker 4: conversation with Angie that I had yesterday that you know,
- 29:15Speaker 4: I kind of stopped and you almost, you know, you
- 29:17Speaker 4: just almost stare off into the distance and you shake
- 29:21Speaker 4: your head and you wonder, man, where did I go wrong?
- 29:24Speaker 3: In life?
- 29:25Speaker 4: You likely have someone at your work that once in
- 29:28Speaker 4: a while you go, hmmm, how have you made it
- 29:31Speaker 4: this far?
- 29:32Speaker 1: But you are incredibly rude.
- 29:34Speaker 2: You're being incredibly rude to me right now. And I
- 29:38Speaker 2: don't like it this, okay, So every year for my birthday,
- 29:42Speaker 2: I'm annoying and I love to celebrate the entire month long.
- 29:46Speaker 2: I make a like a digital flyer for my birthday.
- 29:51Speaker 2: It's a whole thing, and I would expect that you
- 29:55Speaker 2: wouldn't think that that was stupid.
- 29:57Speaker 3: I think that's great. You love your birth Yeah, I think. Yeah.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Okay. So because I'm turning thirty.
- 30:03Speaker 2: Nine, late thirties, yeah, okay, what is it that you
- 30:08Speaker 2: want me to quit?
- 30:09Speaker 1: Like, what are you doing?
- 30:10Speaker 2: I'm turning thirty nine, and so for my birth for
- 30:14Speaker 2: my birthday flyer, I'm just gonna try to get through this, Gabe.
- 30:18Speaker 2: For my birthday flyer, I want it to be thirty
- 30:22Speaker 2: nine double the Fine, which sounds silly, I suppose, But
- 30:28Speaker 2: I have an alter ego. He pops up usually around
- 30:32Speaker 2: Halloween and his name is Angelo. So I wanted to
- 30:35Speaker 2: do thirty nine double the Fine. And I was explaining
- 30:39Speaker 2: to Gabe that I was going to have a flyer
- 30:42Speaker 2: where Corey uh from Bob. She is also like a photographer,
- 30:48Speaker 2: and she said that she would help me with this
- 30:50Speaker 2: where it's me as myself, but then also Angelo, my
- 30:54Speaker 2: alter ego, and where it would be like we were
- 30:57Speaker 2: posing together to celebrate our thirty nine ninth birthday. Thirty
- 31:01Speaker 2: nine double the fine, And I think.
- 31:04Speaker 1: That's cute and quirky, except for.
- 31:07Speaker 2: Now, as I'm saying it, I feel kind of dumb
- 31:09Speaker 2: because Gabe has been trolling me.
- 31:13Speaker 1: But then, what why do you hate this?
- 31:15Speaker 3: What do you well? When you say it out loud,
- 31:18Speaker 3: does it? How does that sound?
- 31:20Speaker 1: It sounds like I'm still gonna do it?
- 31:22Speaker 3: Yeah? I like that.
- 31:22Speaker 4: Well, it just when you express this to me, I
- 31:25Speaker 4: had to stop. And your birthday is July third, Yeah, okay.
- 31:29Speaker 4: On July third, someone somewhere will be doing research on
- 31:35Speaker 4: finding the cure to cancer. Someone's gonna save someone's life,
- 31:38Speaker 4: someone's gonna prevent an innocent person from going to jail
- 31:43Speaker 4: or standing up for what they believe in, and some.
- 31:45Speaker 3: Kind of injustice.
- 31:47Speaker 4: Our Angie on her thirty ninth birthday, July third, We'll
- 31:52Speaker 4: be doing a double photoshoot of her and a fake
- 31:55Speaker 4: character she dresses up as for Halloween. I mean, when
- 32:00Speaker 4: you put it that way.
- 32:05Speaker 3: I need some good.
- 32:08Speaker 5: Starting off the day with something good. This is Gabe's
- 32:12Speaker 5: good news on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 32:16Speaker 4: Today's Gabe's good news is all about something that brings neighbors, families,
- 32:21Speaker 4: friends together, no matter their age, background, or even their
- 32:27Speaker 4: political views, and that is election Day. Across Fargo and
- 32:30Speaker 4: North Dakota, people are taking a few minutes out of
- 32:32Speaker 4: their busy schedules to make their voices heard. Whether it's
- 32:35Speaker 4: your first time voting or your fiftieth, there's something pretty
- 32:40Speaker 4: special about participating in a tradition that's been part of
- 32:43Speaker 4: our democracy for generations. It's easy to focus on what
- 32:47Speaker 4: divides us, but today is a reminder of what we
- 32:50Speaker 4: all have in common, and that's the opportunity to have
- 32:53Speaker 4: us say in our communities and our future. Today's good
- 32:56Speaker 4: news as is a thousands of people are showing up
- 33:00Speaker 4: doing their civic duty and proving that community involvement is
- 33:03Speaker 4: alive and well no matter the outcome. I think that's
- 33:06Speaker 4: something worth celebrating today. Get out out and vote, take
- 33:10Speaker 4: a few minutes if you can, and don't forget here.
- 33:13Speaker 4: In North Dakota, it is encouraged if you're an employer
- 33:16Speaker 4: to let people have a few minutes to go and vote.
- 33:19Speaker 4: So we asked, you know, if you could do that,
- 33:21Speaker 4: that'd be wonderful. So people can get on out and
- 33:23Speaker 4: do that today. And if you have never heard my
- 33:26Speaker 4: favorite quote, it's a good one. Broken Crans, they still
- 33:29Speaker 4: color and the world is full of nice people. If
- 33:31Speaker 4: you can't find one, you got to be one.
