- 1:07Speaker 2: Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered.
- 1:11Speaker 3: Last week the theme was We're soft. This week, We're hard.
- 1:14Speaker 4: That's right, all of us.
- 1:15Speaker 5: He actually said that.
- 1:18Speaker 3: He's not coming back. He's not coming back, so get
- 1:22Speaker 3: over it.
- 1:23Speaker 5: I haven't heard people say lose as many games.
- 1:25Speaker 3: On your show for the draft pick.
- 1:28Speaker 5: That's Felger. No the callers, but they really you're falling
- 1:32Speaker 5: for it. He's inventing it.
- 1:33Speaker 3: Paul. I'm the shut that you're wearing though. Is that
- 1:36Speaker 3: that's not a quarters Is that a half zip? How
- 1:38Speaker 3: can that be a quarter zips? Only a quartersip?
- 1:40Speaker 5: If Fred hates me, he's young and hip. Now with
- 1:44Speaker 5: the you know little zip, you know, sweater, don't want
- 1:48Speaker 5: to wear a sweater or a vest. Make up your mind.
- 1:50Speaker 3: It's it's a sweater.
- 1:51Speaker 5: You can't decide what it wants to be really why
- 1:54Speaker 5: it's funny looking, it.
- 1:55Speaker 3: Is weird, it's sweetish, it's but I was having trouble
- 1:58Speaker 3: putting it away, so I'm running it and the balls
- 2:00Speaker 3: like up here and he just goes an athlete.
- 2:02Speaker 2: This is Patriots Unfiltered.

- 2:11Speaker 3: All right, welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. It is Wednesday here
- 2:14Speaker 3: at the Lette Stadium. We're turning the page. And Girod
- 2:18Speaker 3: Mayo led that off today with I don't know if
- 2:21Speaker 3: it's news or speculator, but may we'll be out there.
- 2:26Speaker 3: I don't know what he'll be doing. He says he'll
- 2:28Speaker 3: be throwing.
- 2:29Speaker 5: That's going to be thrown a little bit. Yeah, no,
- 2:31Speaker 5: I mean it's it's not overly surprising. It is news
- 2:35Speaker 5: to me. It's absolutely news because it eliminates the a
- 2:39Speaker 5: dark room like yeah, I mean I didn't expect him
- 2:42Speaker 5: to be based on the way he sounded after the game.
- 2:44Speaker 5: I didn't expect him to be in a dark room.
- 2:46Speaker 5: But he's somewhere in the middle of the protocol, I think,
- 2:49Speaker 5: based on what Gerard said today, third step, fourth step,
- 2:53Speaker 5: you know, somewhere in there. And then we're going to
- 2:55Speaker 5: have to figure out if he is going to be
- 2:57Speaker 5: able to get cleared, you know, for for full contact
- 3:01Speaker 5: before the end of the weekend, get reinstated. But I
- 3:04Speaker 5: think this. I thought there was a chance when we
- 3:06Speaker 5: talked about it post game Sunday. I thought there was
- 3:07Speaker 5: a chance yesterday, And you know, nothing has happened since
- 3:11Speaker 5: to lead me to believe that he is completely out
- 3:13Speaker 5: for for the game. But my prediction he will play, Yeah,
- 3:17Speaker 5: I don't really have a prediction. No you shouldn't, but
- 3:20Speaker 5: I don't have a I don't have any idea, but yeah,
- 3:25Speaker 5: I mean he's gonna throw I guess a little bit.
- 3:27Speaker 5: And he did say he Girod did say toward the
- 3:30Speaker 5: end there was a question specifically about what, you know,
- 3:33Speaker 5: how long, and he said he will be limited to
- 3:35Speaker 5: thirty minutes. And just so people understand why I'm sort
- 3:39Speaker 5: of making that differentiation. I don't know exactly how this
- 3:42Speaker 5: is all going to unfold. They have to do it
- 3:45Speaker 5: by whatever the NFL tells them to do the independent neurology.
- 3:48Speaker 3: It's out of the Patriot's hands.
- 3:50Speaker 5: But the thirty minute limit is something that is part
- 3:53Speaker 5: of the criteria for the third step of protocol. The
- 3:56Speaker 5: throwing and football quote unquote football activities is part of
- 4:00Speaker 5: the fourth step. So I'm not exactly sure if we're
- 4:03Speaker 5: combining steps right here or not. Okay, but I think
- 4:08Speaker 5: I agree with your overall premise, Freddy, that it's it's good.
- 4:12Speaker 5: It's a good sign that he's going to be out
- 4:14Speaker 5: there today. I expected him to be out there. Most
- 4:16Speaker 5: of those guys, unless it's like you're talking about with
- 4:18Speaker 5: the dark room, they're out there, they're just not practicing.
- 4:21Speaker 3: So given the opponent, and we'll be here for the
- 4:24Speaker 3: next two hours talk it's me and Paul Duce will
- 4:26Speaker 3: be here, Evan'll be here, but they've got some locker
- 4:29Speaker 3: room duties right now that they're fulfilling, and Evan will
- 4:32Speaker 3: be going out to practice and so he'll be back
- 4:35Speaker 3: with the first visuals of Drake out there. But given
- 4:41Speaker 3: the opponent, the Tennessee Titans, Patriots have a better chance
- 4:46Speaker 3: of beating them with Drake may or is it the
- 4:49Speaker 3: same with the Prissette or May.
- 4:51Speaker 5: That's a great question because the knee jerk reaction would be, oh,
- 4:55Speaker 5: obviously they have a better chance with Drake May. But
- 4:58Speaker 5: I'm not. You know, nothing that's actually happened. I mean,
- 5:01Speaker 5: it looks better with Drake May. We can all agree, yeah,
- 5:04Speaker 5: but nothing that's actually happened has been better with Drake May.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Right.
- 5:08Speaker 5: You know this is where you know you fall back
- 5:09Speaker 5: on the analytics people. You know, it's right here in
- 5:11Speaker 5: the spreadsheet. Well, the offense doesn't move the ball anymore,
- 5:15Speaker 5: they don't score any more points. They don't like, they
- 5:17Speaker 5: don't they're not any closer in the games. The two
- 5:19Speaker 5: games that Drake May started and finished, they lost by
- 5:23Speaker 5: what's sixteen and twenty? So I don't know. I don't
- 5:27Speaker 5: know the answer to that. Who gives them the better
- 5:29Speaker 5: chance to win? An argument could be made for Perset
- 5:34Speaker 5: because he's less apt to turn the ball over, and
- 5:36Speaker 5: I think that could be the difference in a game
- 5:38Speaker 5: between two teams that struggle to score points. You know
- 5:41Speaker 5: a turnover here that the Patriots have actually done a
- 5:43Speaker 5: pretty good job of not turning the ball over this year,
- 5:46Speaker 5: regardless of the quarterback. But you could make an argument
- 5:50Speaker 5: that percent would give them a better chance. Now I'm
- 5:52Speaker 5: not making that argument. I'd rather see may And if
- 5:55Speaker 5: may is ready to go, he absolutely plays.
- 5:57Speaker 3: And Mayo, you know, was talking and I'm not you know,
- 6:00Speaker 3: I know when Bill used to talk about the other team,
- 6:02Speaker 3: he would, you know, focus on everything positive he could
- 6:06Speaker 3: in that whole thing. And I'm not sure Mayo follows
- 6:11Speaker 3: the same playbook. But he was talking about how unpredictable
- 6:15Speaker 3: the Titans are on defense.
- 6:17Speaker 5: And you know another point, you a favor for percent, right, And.
- 6:21Speaker 3: We were talking yesterday about like are those numbers real
- 6:25Speaker 3: because they're rated very high in terms of yards allowed
- 6:29Speaker 3: in the league. But is that unpredictability part of their
- 6:34Speaker 3: success so far?
- 6:35Speaker 5: This ye, yeah, I mean, I don't know. It's a
- 6:37Speaker 5: it's a good question, you know, in the yards too,
- 6:39Speaker 5: like total yards allowed, it's hard to be deceptive. Now,
- 6:44Speaker 5: obviously in the very in the most other team, starting
- 6:46Speaker 5: in every and the most recent game, it was deceptive
- 6:49Speaker 5: because Detroit took over in such great field position that
- 6:52Speaker 5: they didn't need to move the ball very far. But
- 6:57Speaker 5: over the balance of eight games, you allow, over seven
- 6:59Speaker 5: games because they had to buy, they've allowed less yards
- 7:02Speaker 5: than anybody else, I mean on average, so like it's
- 7:06Speaker 5: hard to imagine every single game the other team only
- 7:09Speaker 5: needed to drive twenty yards for a touchdown and they
- 7:11Speaker 5: did it every time. That's what happened in the Lions game.
- 7:14Speaker 5: You know, the passing yards allowed. That can be deceptive
- 7:17Speaker 5: because they're behind all the time. Maybe teams are just
- 7:19Speaker 5: running the ball at the end of the game and
- 7:21Speaker 5: you know, killing the clock and not necessarily looking to
- 7:23Speaker 5: do anything. But I be I'm curious to see what
- 7:27Speaker 5: that defense looks like. They do have some individual players,
- 7:30Speaker 5: you know, Jeffrey Simmons was on the top of mind
- 7:32Speaker 5: for almost everybody we'd heard from today. He's he's obviously
- 7:38Speaker 5: been a great player in the league for a long time.
- 7:39Speaker 5: Harold Landry, kid from Boston College, you know, good solid
- 7:42Speaker 5: edge guy. Lugerious Snead was a you know, a highly
- 7:46Speaker 5: sought after guy in the market. You know, the Chiefs
- 7:49Speaker 5: originally franchised and then they made a trade sent the corner.
- 7:52Speaker 5: So they have some individual pieces on defense that that
- 7:55Speaker 5: are pretty good. I'd like, you know, I'm like you
- 7:57Speaker 5: I'm kind of curious to see is it deceptive or
- 7:59Speaker 5: are they really just an underrated defense.
- 8:02Speaker 3: And then on the other side of the ball, Gerard
- 8:04Speaker 3: also said there the unpredictability at the quarterback position. Yeah,
- 8:09Speaker 3: kind of poses some challenge.
- 8:10Speaker 5: Yeah, and Gerard let off the whole thing by saying
- 8:12Speaker 5: how similar the two teams are, and even right down
- 8:15Speaker 5: to that, there's uncertainty at quarterback. You know who's going
- 8:18Speaker 5: to start the game in this particular case. I think
- 8:21Speaker 5: there's a lot of similarities between those two guys. I
- 8:24Speaker 5: think Will is probably more athletic and runs a little
- 8:27Speaker 5: bit more with the purpose, but Mason Rudolph can move
- 8:29Speaker 5: around too. They both turned the ball over. Neither one
- 8:33Speaker 5: of them is particularly accurate. I would say Levis is
- 8:37Speaker 5: more guilty of bad decisions. Yeah, you know, four lost
- 8:42Speaker 5: fumbles is a lot. Yeah. So that's what's killed Tennessee
- 8:46Speaker 5: is they can't hold onto the football. They minus thirteen
- 8:49Speaker 5: in the turnovers. You know, neither team has generated a
- 8:54Speaker 5: lot of takeaways, but the Patriots have held out of
- 8:56Speaker 5: the ball and the Titans happened.
- 8:57Speaker 3: And that's something also Mayo mentioned, is they had opportunities
- 9:01Speaker 3: last game four takeaways, they didn't get them. If they
- 9:04Speaker 3: have them this week, they have to take advantage of it.
- 9:07Speaker 3: So that's all we're going to be talking about with
- 9:09Speaker 3: the Titans. I want to know. I'm only kidding, but
- 9:11Speaker 3: I do want to talk about last night's baseball game
- 9:13Speaker 3: and the way the Yankees are treating those morons in
- 9:17Speaker 3: right field.
- 9:19Speaker 5: So I know the play that you're talking about. How
- 9:20Speaker 5: would the Yankees treating them they don't know.
- 9:22Speaker 3: They're bringing them back to the game as well.
- 9:24Speaker 5: How would they would lost this season tickets? Yeah, absolutely,
- 9:27Speaker 5: like they would have lost their.
- 9:29Speaker 3: And then the ESPN did a feature on him. It's like,
- 9:32Speaker 3: why are we, you know.
- 9:33Speaker 5: Uh, rewarding you know, horrible behavior, horrible behavior.
- 9:37Speaker 3: You can't have that.
- 9:39Speaker 5: And I'm not and you know me, I'm not like,
- 9:41Speaker 5: oh my heavens, you.
- 9:42Speaker 3: Know you want to boo, give the finger whatever, that's off,
- 9:45Speaker 3: but you cannot touch an athlete, right, you know.
- 9:48Speaker 5: Right too too comfortable, too comfortable, And it's all, you know,
- 9:52Speaker 5: it's all fun and games. When we all saw it
- 9:54Speaker 5: on unfolded, it was harmless. But what happens if it
- 9:57Speaker 5: was something different? What if the next guy says, I'm
- 9:59Speaker 5: not just gonna take I'm gonna I'm gonna make do
- 10:01Speaker 5: something so he can't catch the ball.
- 10:03Speaker 3: Next, or what if in just what they call fun,
- 10:05Speaker 3: they actually twisted Mookie BET's wrist or something, you know,
- 10:09Speaker 3: like you can't do that, and and and then you can't, like,
- 10:14Speaker 3: you know, we're going to back for Game five.
- 10:18Speaker 5: No, I think that's I think that's a misstep by
- 10:21Speaker 5: the Yankees. I didn't know about that. I didn't know
- 10:23Speaker 5: if that was their plan.
- 10:24Speaker 3: Yeah, and yeah, so anyway, I just wanted to bring
- 10:27Speaker 3: that up.
- 10:28Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't know, I'm you know, kinda. I still
- 10:31Speaker 5: think the Dodgers will ultimately win the series, obviously, but
- 10:34Speaker 5: I was kind of glad that it got extended at
- 10:36Speaker 5: least seen you know.
- 10:37Speaker 3: I turned it off after six in and it was
- 10:39Speaker 3: five to four. I just couldn't stay up. But did
- 10:41Speaker 3: Judge have any hits after that?
- 10:43Speaker 5: He had one hit, but he just thought, does not
- 10:45Speaker 5: look good at all.
- 10:46Speaker 3: At least he was getting on base, he was walking,
- 10:48Speaker 3: you know.
- 10:48Speaker 5: But I know you're you're very upset.
- 10:51Speaker 3: I really like Aaron Judge. I hate the Yankees. I know,
- 10:53Speaker 3: let's get that clear.
- 10:54Speaker 5: I hate both teams, but at these are two of
- 10:56Speaker 5: my all time hated franchises. But you know, being a
- 11:00Speaker 5: selfish Boston sports fan and watching my baseball team no
- 11:04Speaker 5: longer try to compete. You know, I wanted these teams
- 11:07Speaker 5: to have success because they go out there and they yeah,
- 11:10Speaker 5: they have plenty of homegrown players, but they also spend
- 11:13Speaker 5: through the nose to get other players to get more talent.
- 11:16Speaker 5: And that's how you do it in baseball. But the
- 11:19Speaker 5: Red Sox have decided they're not going to do it
- 11:20Speaker 5: that way anymore. So I'm glad that these two teams
- 11:23Speaker 5: spend all the money and they're going to be at
- 11:25Speaker 5: the off of the heap.
- 11:26Speaker 3: So now we go back to the Patriots because you
- 11:30Speaker 3: mentioned spending and we're up against the trade deadline coming up.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Reports that the Patriots are not just maybe looking to
- 11:40Speaker 3: maybe trade guys away, but they're also looking maybe to
- 11:42Speaker 3: pick guys.
- 11:43Speaker 5: Up, did you I'm not familiar with that either, so
- 11:46Speaker 5: fill me in. Yeah, I got to do a little
- 11:48Speaker 5: bit more show Prepp.
- 11:50Speaker 3: I don't know. It was one of the regular beat
- 11:52Speaker 3: guys reporting that the Patriots in the market for wide
- 11:57Speaker 3: receiver tackles.
- 11:59Speaker 5: See I heard that Breer reported that the Patriots are
- 12:02Speaker 5: taking calls on wide receivers. I took that to mean
- 12:04Speaker 5: that they're looking to deal.
- 12:05Speaker 3: With now looking to bring them in. So let me
- 12:09Speaker 3: so if anyone wants to bring up my thing here,
- 12:14Speaker 3: if anyone wants to send us any emails on that
- 12:18Speaker 3: actual reporting, I'd be happy to read it. But yeah,
- 12:24Speaker 3: there actually in the market both ways.
- 12:29Speaker 5: Yeah, I I just don't know who they could be
- 12:32Speaker 5: in the market to get. Like I saw, we got
- 12:36Speaker 5: an as PFW as an example, a gentleman's looking. So
- 12:40Speaker 5: the Ravens made the trade for Deontay Johnson. So they
- 12:44Speaker 5: have a young receiver who played at North Carolina whose
- 12:46Speaker 5: name is escaping me right now, who hasn't really played.
- 12:49Speaker 5: I think he's on the roster, but he hasn't played.
- 12:52Speaker 5: Might the Ravens want to trade him to the Patriots?
- 12:54Speaker 5: And I'm like, well, if he's a young receiver just
- 12:57Speaker 5: because you know, like with the Patriots want to trade
- 12:59Speaker 5: Javon Baker right now, right like he's a young receiver
- 13:02Speaker 5: that they have that I assume they have some hope
- 13:05Speaker 5: for down the stretch. I don't know why the Ravens
- 13:08Speaker 5: would if he has any promise at all. You know,
- 13:11Speaker 5: for all I know, he's a complete and total bus So.
- 13:13Speaker 3: You want to trade a young guy like that, there's
- 13:15Speaker 3: something wrong right right.
- 13:17Speaker 5: I don't know why you would want to trade a
- 13:19Speaker 5: young player. And that's what I would if I were
- 13:21Speaker 5: the Elliott Woolfe, I'd be looking to acquire young players
- 13:26Speaker 5: that haven't had an opportunity to make a mark that
- 13:28Speaker 5: you think that you might have a chance to develop.
- 13:30Speaker 3: I mean, like, like we talked about a few shows ago, like,
- 13:33Speaker 3: it doesn't make sense now for the Patriots to take
- 13:37Speaker 3: that guy that's at the end of his career because
- 13:40Speaker 3: we're not close. You know, by the time the Patriots
- 13:43Speaker 3: are ready to contend for playoffs, that guy's going to
- 13:46Speaker 3: be done, So why bring him on. They're looking for
- 13:50Speaker 3: that sweet spot of a guy who is at you know,
- 13:53Speaker 3: maybe at the end of his first contract that you
- 13:56Speaker 3: could bring in, you can extend and he's going to
- 13:59Speaker 3: be here for the rebuild. But those guys aren't available for.
- 14:04Speaker 5: It's a hard needle of thread, and I would absolutely
- 14:06Speaker 5: be in. Uh, I'll be interested.
- 14:09Speaker 3: You know.
- 14:09Speaker 5: In this one that one of our listeners brought up.
- 14:11Speaker 5: I think it's a I think it's a rookie that
- 14:14Speaker 5: played with Drake May last year at North Carolina. The
- 14:18Speaker 5: profile I'm interested in, you know, I just I'm not
- 14:21Speaker 5: sure why Baltimore unless he can't play, you know why
- 14:25Speaker 5: Baltimore would be looking to get rid of, you know,
- 14:27Speaker 5: a young guy with some promise.
- 14:29Speaker 3: Justina Anderson is the person reporting it. She's her tweet
- 14:35Speaker 3: is I'm told the Patriots are monitoring the trade market
- 14:38Speaker 3: to potentially add talent at wide receiver, defensive tackle, or
- 14:42Speaker 3: tackle positions on the heels of the rousing twenty five
- 14:47Speaker 3: twenty two win over the New York Jets. Per source. Okay,
- 14:50Speaker 3: per source. So that's it, Yeah, that's it, Justina Anderson. Yeah, okay, Well,
- 14:56Speaker 3: I mean she's reputable. You know, it's not musket fire, right, Okay,
- 15:03Speaker 3: we would would you say that with a lot of dismissiveness.
- 15:06Speaker 5: You know, because I did it. Called up the thing
- 15:09Speaker 5: I saw this morning from Breer, and it says fielding
- 15:12Speaker 5: calls for wide receivers and cornerbacks ahead of trade deadline.
- 15:16Speaker 5: I took that to mean the Patriots were fielding calls
- 15:20Speaker 5: from other teams looking to acquire their players.
- 15:23Speaker 3: Now I saw that he says, I've heard they've gotten
- 15:27Speaker 3: calls and their fielding calls on cornerbacks and wide receivers
- 15:31Speaker 3: the names I've heard they've gotten calls on are actually interesting.
- 15:35Speaker 3: It's kJ Osborne and Taekwon Thornton, And I think the
- 15:39Speaker 3: reason why Thornton has some value as teams is because
- 15:42Speaker 3: that's sort of speed. You can't coach it, right, So
- 15:45Speaker 3: every coach looks at a guy like that and says,
- 15:47Speaker 3: I can do something with him.
- 15:49Speaker 5: That's what I had seen this morning, and I assumed
- 15:52Speaker 5: that that's what it was about. It was about trading
- 15:54Speaker 5: away players, not acquiring them. But evidently just seen Anderson
- 15:59Speaker 5: is hearing the opposite, So we'll see.
- 16:01Speaker 3: Well, listen, if you're a good GM, you're listening to everything.
- 16:04Speaker 5: Yeah. Like I said, I don't think that they should
- 16:06Speaker 5: be closed off to acquire if they can acquire talent
- 16:09Speaker 5: that fits what they want to do. I'm not interested
- 16:12Speaker 5: in acquiring talent that's going to help them out in
- 16:14Speaker 5: the last eight weeks now. I'm interested in acquiring a
- 16:16Speaker 5: young player that they can work with and develop the
- 16:18Speaker 5: way Elliot Wolf has talked about we want to be
- 16:21Speaker 5: a draft and developed team.
- 16:22Speaker 3: Yep.
- 16:23Speaker 5: Well, if they can acquire some talent that is worth developing,
- 16:26Speaker 5: I think that they should be interested in that.
- 16:28Speaker 3: Yeah. So interesting stuff in case people haven't seen it already.
- 16:36Speaker 3: The miked up with Christian Gonzales dropped thought it was
- 16:40Speaker 3: a nice little piece, and Gerard Mayo mentioned it. I
- 16:43Speaker 3: heard you mentioned the micd up. So thank you, Coach
- 16:47Speaker 3: Mayo for promoting our content.
- 16:50Speaker 5: Yeah, it's nice the way that works.
- 16:52Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 16:54Speaker 5: So was there any good takeaways from Christian Gonzales.
- 16:58Speaker 3: He doesn't really say much, but just how he went
- 17:01Speaker 3: about his business. Other guys, you know, on the bench.
- 17:04Speaker 3: A lot of good stuff from the bench, and there
- 17:06Speaker 3: was one I don't want to give it away, but
- 17:08Speaker 3: there's one little kind of running thing that goes through
- 17:11Speaker 3: and then finishes at the end, you know, but I
- 17:16Speaker 3: don't want to give away that.
- 17:17Speaker 5: Yeah, And you know, Mayo talked about Gonzales and we've
- 17:19Speaker 5: talked about how quiet he is, but he's pretty confident.
- 17:23Speaker 5: There's a lot of similarities to Gilmore. And Mayo himself
- 17:27Speaker 5: said it today, you know that that there was some
- 17:30Speaker 5: some similarities there with you know, they were they were
- 17:33Speaker 5: two really quiet guys that had a lot of ability.
- 17:36Speaker 5: And he mentioned too, He mentioned Revis too. Revis was
- 17:39Speaker 5: a little bit more.
- 17:40Speaker 3: Reavis would poke back when somebody would say something, but
- 17:44Speaker 3: for the most part, he wasn't talkative.
- 17:45Speaker 5: No, but yeah, and Gilmore would Revis.
- 17:49Speaker 3: Gilmore was sneaky.
- 17:52Speaker 5: Gilmore and Gonzales are very similar. They do not lack
- 17:55Speaker 5: for confidence, but they're very quiet. Yeah, Revis was not
- 18:01Speaker 5: exactly Dion Sanders in his prime, but he was pretty cocky.
- 18:06Speaker 5: I think there's a big difference between Revs and Gilmore Gonzales.
- 18:10Speaker 5: But you're right, Revis wasn't a loud guy per se.
- 18:13Speaker 5: But he also embraced the whole Revis Island thing. And
- 18:17Speaker 5: you know, stuff like that isn't like that position is interesting,
- 18:20Speaker 5: like to me.
- 18:20Speaker 3: Like you've got to have a short memory.
- 18:22Speaker 5: And you have to have a lot of confidence. Yeah,
- 18:25Speaker 5: and I think Gonzo has that. I really do, I think,
- 18:28Speaker 5: And I liked I liked his game this week. I
- 18:30Speaker 5: know it wasn't perfect. I know people are probably critical
- 18:33Speaker 5: of me saying, well, what was the difference? You know,
- 18:35Speaker 5: he had penalty there, you know, probably should have had
- 18:38Speaker 5: another penalty at another time. But I just I liked
- 18:40Speaker 5: his game. I liked the way he he competed in
- 18:44Speaker 5: that game on Sunday, more so than I thought the
- 18:49Speaker 5: last couple Yeah.
- 18:50Speaker 3: I think this, this what he's doing now is going
- 18:55Speaker 3: to help him in that not just his confidence, but
- 18:58Speaker 3: its competitiveness, like he's gonna want more of it. It's
- 19:01Speaker 3: going to become addictive, and he's not gonna want to lose.
- 19:04Speaker 3: And I think that's what separates the really good cornerbacks
- 19:07Speaker 3: from the not. They hate getting beat and it doesn't
- 19:11Speaker 3: even matter if it's in a game or in practice,
- 19:13Speaker 3: like it's a you know, it's an affront to them
- 19:16Speaker 3: to get beat even on the you know, the shortest pass.
- 19:20Speaker 5: And I'd like to see more of that. Yeah, him,
- 19:21Speaker 5: That's what I want to say. He didn't have that
- 19:23Speaker 5: in practice exactly. He's only didn't have it in training.
- 19:26Speaker 3: He would lay off, you know, like it's just practice.
- 19:29Speaker 5: And I and not for a second do I think
- 19:31Speaker 5: he was getting torched every day. But it just didn't
- 19:33Speaker 5: seem like he was like really like ty Law used
- 19:38Speaker 5: to hate giving up completions, right, you know, So I
- 19:42Speaker 5: just wonder, you know, I wonder if he's maybe turning
- 19:45Speaker 5: a corner in that regard. So, you know, with the
- 19:48Speaker 5: Drake May stuff to Freddy, you know, the concussion thing
- 19:51Speaker 5: we talked we had the emailer yesterday was talking about
- 19:55Speaker 5: sort of the inequities with some of these guys. They
- 19:57Speaker 5: get hit and the they get one guy gets taken out,
- 20:01Speaker 5: one guy doesn't, so you know, and the whole Josh
- 20:04Speaker 5: Allen got knocked out thing. And I said, I'm not
- 20:06Speaker 5: sure he got knocked out. So I went back and
- 20:09Speaker 5: I looked at a lot of stuff after because I
- 20:11Speaker 5: was the same stuff that we're talking about now, Like
- 20:12Speaker 5: I didn't see the Justina Anderson thing. You know, maybe
- 20:15Speaker 5: I missed this. So I did see what a lot
- 20:17Speaker 5: of people are talking about. Pat McAfee said he was
- 20:20Speaker 5: knocked out. Some some doctor who I don't think is
- 20:24Speaker 5: affiliated with the league in any way, said he was
- 20:26Speaker 5: clearly knocked out. And I watched it again and I
- 20:29Speaker 5: still do not see any indications that he was quote
- 20:33Speaker 5: unquote knocked out, like just out. Now, that doesn't mean
- 20:37Speaker 5: he didn't have a concussion, right, maybe he did, but
- 20:40Speaker 5: he was taken out of the game. He did miss
- 20:42Speaker 5: a play and was evaluated and they deemed him okay
- 20:46Speaker 5: to go back in. You can say that that was
- 20:49Speaker 5: an error. I just don't. I don't know if I
- 20:55Speaker 5: can make the jump that there's.
- 20:57Speaker 3: Different rules, right.
- 20:59Speaker 5: You know, like this is a rookie. They're going to
- 21:01Speaker 5: protect a rookie.
- 21:02Speaker 3: They get a lot of trouble if that came out
- 21:04Speaker 3: as right.
- 21:05Speaker 5: Like, you know, I've seen a lot of examples, like
- 21:09Speaker 5: like Tua had had a concussion three years ago. I
- 21:12Speaker 5: want to say against Buffalo where early in the game
- 21:15Speaker 5: he hit his head, hit the back of his head,
- 21:17Speaker 5: He get up and he he almost not normal. He staggered,
- 21:21Speaker 5: you know, like he was like rubber legged, and he
- 21:24Speaker 5: kind of regained his compos stayed in the game, and
- 21:26Speaker 5: then obviously the next week against Cincinnati, he had another
- 21:28Speaker 5: concussion that put him out for a little while. So
- 21:32Speaker 5: these things happened. It's an imperfect science. Yeah, you know,
- 21:36Speaker 5: sort of evaluating these head injuries.
- 21:38Speaker 3: I remember, but I.
- 21:39Speaker 5: Just like the whole Like I guess, I'm going to
- 21:42Speaker 5: push back. I'm gonna apologize a little to the email
- 21:44Speaker 5: because I saw a lot of the stuff that he
- 21:46Speaker 5: was talking about where people were the armchair doctors saying
- 21:50Speaker 5: that he was knocked out. I personally didn't see him
- 21:53Speaker 5: knocked out. Doesn't mean that you didn't see him knocked out.
- 21:55Speaker 5: So I want to I wanted to just put that
- 21:57Speaker 5: out there and apologize a little bit for pushing back
- 22:00Speaker 5: on that terminology, the knocked out terminology.
- 22:03Speaker 3: Things have changed. I remember playing soccer and we had
- 22:06Speaker 3: this like I don't know if he was a pro,
- 22:08Speaker 3: and he was not at practice, and so he was playing.
- 22:10Speaker 3: I was playing goalie and I went down low because
- 22:13Speaker 3: he was on a breakaway and he kicked me in
- 22:15Speaker 3: the head. Oh, and I went down and they say, like,
- 22:17Speaker 3: my eyes rolled up to the top. I kept playing.
- 22:21Speaker 3: You know, probably had a concussion. Who knows.
- 22:24Speaker 5: I've I thought about that a lot, Like with all
- 22:27Speaker 5: the the attention on concussions, I'm not sure I ever
- 22:30Speaker 5: had a concussion. I mean I definitely did. I definitely
- 22:33Speaker 5: hit my head and had like that.
- 22:35Speaker 3: I still have a bump in the back of my
- 22:36Speaker 3: head from third grade where Michael MERCEDI. I went up
- 22:39Speaker 3: to catch a ball. He hit me, was in the
- 22:41Speaker 3: parking lot, literally broke cracked my skull and blood everywhere,
- 22:46Speaker 3: and I still have the bump. I know I had it.
- 22:48Speaker 5: My favorite part of growing up Kersh is the fact
- 22:51Speaker 5: that you grew up, obviously in a predominantly Italian neighborhood,
- 22:54Speaker 5: Irish and Italian. It's it's it's Ron, it went to
- 22:56Speaker 5: Catholic school. It's Richie Campanella. Oh yeah, Michael, Michael Messidi
- 23:02Speaker 5: Ronna Robinson. He doesn't Vincent Benatoula. See, it's just it's Matt.
- 23:07Speaker 5: It's just awesome. He grew up with my people. Yeah,
- 23:13Speaker 5: and Fred, I just want to point out, is this.
- 23:15Speaker 3: The proper that's a three quarter?
- 23:17Speaker 5: This is a proper distance down from my quarter.
- 23:19Speaker 3: Zip to the nipser body equal to it?
- 23:22Speaker 5: Okay, yeah, all right? So I just you know, when
- 23:24Speaker 5: I was picked out my attire this morning, I said,
- 23:27Speaker 5: what will Fred most want to make fun of me
- 23:29Speaker 5: about today?
- 23:30Speaker 3: I think that's how you should go about life. Yeah,
- 23:33Speaker 3: just you know, you know, reserve that space in your
- 23:37Speaker 3: head for me.
- 23:37Speaker 5: Perfect. Yeah, you've had a full residency there for quite
- 23:41Speaker 5: some time.
- 23:42Speaker 3: Okay, all right? Eight five five pass five hundred is
- 23:45Speaker 3: the TPX outline. Web radio at Patriots dot com is
- 23:48Speaker 3: the email address. We're waiting for Deuce, who should be
- 23:52Speaker 3: here momentarily. Evan will be here later after practice, but
- 23:57Speaker 3: they're in the locker room getting the mood. I'm sure
- 23:59Speaker 3: everyone's gonna be asking about Drake and all that stuff,
- 24:02Speaker 3: but you know, it's it's a game. I think that
- 24:06Speaker 3: you know, Patriots are riding a one game winning streak
- 24:08Speaker 3: right now, and I think they want to make it too.
- 24:12Speaker 3: You didn't know comment on the one game winning streak.
- 24:14Speaker 5: Well, I just like the fact that you made a
- 24:16Speaker 5: big thing of like and they want to win another
- 24:19Speaker 5: Like I'm going to actually thank you alongside. Now, I
- 24:22Speaker 5: always give Felger credit for this, but I think i've
- 24:26Speaker 5: I think it's a misstep. I think I should be
- 24:27Speaker 5: thinking Fred and Mike that's right for explaining to us
- 24:30Speaker 5: all how they want to win. Nuke l Loose taught
- 24:34Speaker 5: us that, you know what I mean, Like, I love winning,
- 24:36Speaker 5: you know what I mean. It's like better than losing.
- 24:38Speaker 5: You know what I mean, Like we gotta win. And
- 24:41Speaker 5: you and you you people that that don't think it's
- 24:44Speaker 5: important to win. You know what? Do you know?
- 24:46Speaker 3: You want that draft pick?
- 24:47Speaker 5: Trust me, you don't want to be one of those teams. Fred,
- 24:50Speaker 5: you don't want to be a two wins.
- 24:51Speaker 3: You don't want to You don't want that culture. No,
- 24:53Speaker 3: you don't want that coach a losing culture. You don't
- 24:56Speaker 3: want that the losers. We're not losers. Winners. I'm a winner,
- 25:03Speaker 3: right Who said that? Who was that coach? Recently?
- 25:06Speaker 5: That that was an old one, But Dick vermil I'm
- 25:08Speaker 5: a winner. We're a winner's boss.
- 25:11Speaker 3: Uh, let's go to the TPX outline. Get people involved.
- 25:15Speaker 3: Eric is calling in from New Jersey. What's up, Eric?
- 25:19Speaker 6: Hey, haven't guys, I'm doing today. That's what It's a
- 25:22Speaker 6: tree topics. And I think one you just brought up
- 25:24Speaker 6: with the winning, you know, that losing culture. You know,
- 25:26Speaker 6: I even called myself this past uh this past week, uh,
- 25:30Speaker 6: you know, chasing that draft pick, you know, wanting you know,
- 25:33Speaker 6: wanting the you know, wanting Drake and you know, specific
- 25:35Speaker 6: players to do well, but you know, chasing you know,
- 25:38Speaker 6: hoping that you losing get that draft pick, and that
- 25:40Speaker 6: you know, I kind of call it myself, and I
- 25:42Speaker 6: just think that such a negative viewpoint on you know,
- 25:45Speaker 6: it's kind of just the state of the you know,
- 25:47Speaker 6: the organizations in the past couple of years. So it's yeah,
- 25:50Speaker 6: definitely that hits home here. But the second part is
- 25:53Speaker 6: with the Tom Kerran and kind of just the you know,
- 25:55Speaker 6: the front office just kind of like the lack of faith.
- 25:58Speaker 7: You know.
- 25:59Speaker 6: Tom Kerr was talking about, you know, possibly trading for
- 26:01Speaker 6: a thirty four year old Adams see winning and possibly
- 26:04Speaker 6: extending them. Uh, you know, just moves like that just
- 26:06Speaker 6: makes me, uh, it's I don't understand where you again
- 26:09Speaker 6: just see the replication of the skill set of players. Uh,
- 26:13Speaker 6: I kind of brings them. Like I said to the
- 26:14Speaker 6: front office, when you bring in Austin Hooper likes a player.
- 26:17Speaker 6: But again the similar players, the type you know, the
- 26:19Speaker 6: hunter Henry, you still didn't kind of didn't quite bring
- 26:22Speaker 6: in that blocking tight end. It's just the then you
- 26:24Speaker 6: have you the draft Jalen Polk was again kind of
- 26:27Speaker 6: similar to Michael Bord, I mean, kens of Born. It's
- 26:30Speaker 6: like the we kind of get the similar player to
- 26:33Speaker 6: the players that we already signed or we already have
- 26:35Speaker 6: on the roster, and it was just not bringing these
- 26:38Speaker 6: different guilts that to compliment, you know, on the roster,
- 26:40Speaker 6: and there's just want to take your year, your opinions off,
- 26:43Speaker 6: and I'll take it off the line of Kinks guys.
- 26:45Speaker 3: Okay, thanks Eric, I'm quite sure I follow that about
- 26:50Speaker 3: the types of players you bring in similar, But I
- 26:54Speaker 3: will say this.
- 26:55Speaker 5: Do you think there's like a specific skill set of
- 26:58Speaker 5: a player that you think would best fit with Drake
- 27:00Speaker 5: May because I'm not sure. I mean, I just want
- 27:02Speaker 5: to catch the ball, yeah, I just want more athleticism
- 27:05Speaker 5: on the field. More game breakers, more playmakers.
- 27:07Speaker 3: Yeah, but something that he said that kind of made
- 27:11Speaker 3: me think we were talking about the type of free
- 27:15Speaker 3: agent that you'd want to bring in that sweet spot
- 27:17Speaker 3: of where they are in their career and you know,
- 27:19Speaker 3: so that they're here for the rebuild. What about this though,
- 27:23Speaker 3: What if there is a tackle available, you might only
- 27:28Speaker 3: have him for the rest of this year. But money
- 27:30Speaker 3: isn't really an issue because they got plenty of cap rooms,
- 27:33Speaker 3: so that's not it. That's not an issue. And but
- 27:36Speaker 3: you bring him in here just to boost the offensive
- 27:38Speaker 3: line to help his development this year to.
- 27:41Speaker 5: Yeah, but who like, well, I don't know, but I'm
- 27:43Speaker 5: just saying I just don't think there are a lot
- 27:45Speaker 5: of players like that that would be available that would
- 27:48Speaker 5: be better than what you have. Like we talk about
- 27:51Speaker 5: the guy from Jacksonville all the time.
- 27:52Speaker 3: Everybody brings up jets to like, you know what, Tyrone Smith,
- 27:56Speaker 3: you can go over there, Like would it be worth
- 27:59Speaker 3: just you know, giving him four million dollars for the
- 28:02Speaker 3: rest of the year, just just to you know, have that.
- 28:05Speaker 3: And so Drake has a little bit more ability to
- 28:08Speaker 3: kind of develop this season.
- 28:10Speaker 5: I don't know, I don't know, I don't know. I
- 28:12Speaker 5: don't know if that'd be worth it. Yeah, I mean
- 28:14Speaker 5: I know it couldn't hurt on the field, no, But
- 28:21Speaker 5: I don't know that that would be something that would
- 28:22Speaker 5: be realistic.
- 28:24Speaker 3: Yeah. I don't know why.
- 28:26Speaker 5: Not, because why are the Jets doing that?
- 28:31Speaker 3: Because because they're like, screw it, the season's over, you know.
- 28:36Speaker 5: But okay, yeah, don't.
- 28:39Speaker 3: I'm just I'm just saying somebody like a Tyrone Smith
- 28:42Speaker 3: that yeah, he's not going to be here for the rebuild,
- 28:44Speaker 3: but he knows how to play the position, and.
- 28:47Speaker 5: They want to play Sorry, yeah, I was pronounced that incorrectly,
- 28:53Speaker 5: didn't want to play their rookie tackle that they you know,
- 28:58Speaker 5: why not.
- 28:58Speaker 3: Just to give may some a little bit more help
- 29:01Speaker 3: so we can see him develop a little bit more,
- 29:03Speaker 3: you know, uh, make better evaluations on his game, that
- 29:07Speaker 3: type of thing. I was just thinking about that. The
- 29:10Speaker 3: other thing I was thinking that you know that Eric
- 29:13Speaker 3: was calling about, was, you know, he had gone back
- 29:15Speaker 3: and forth about wanting that draft pick in this particular draft, Like,
- 29:20Speaker 3: who is it that you know you're so hot to
- 29:22Speaker 3: get at number one.
- 29:23Speaker 5: Well, that's the thing is, I don't think that. First
- 29:26Speaker 5: of all, I see it almost impossible for them not
- 29:29Speaker 5: to be say in the top seven, right, you're going
- 29:32Speaker 5: to get a good player, so you're going to be
- 29:34Speaker 5: in a good spot, and there's nobody specific that you
- 29:39Speaker 5: need to get, right. I think Travis Hunter looks like
- 29:42Speaker 5: a really, really good prospect, but I don't think he's
- 29:45Speaker 5: as highly regarded as say like Marvin Harrison and elite
- 29:49Speaker 5: neighbors last year. Now, maybe as a cornerback he's better
- 29:53Speaker 5: than a wide receiver. I don't know exactly how all
- 29:55Speaker 5: these evaluators are going to look at him.
- 29:58Speaker 3: He's yeah, I just don't I don't know. He's like
- 30:03Speaker 3: one hundred and seventy pounds or something.
- 30:04Speaker 5: Well, I think he's bigger than that, but he's small.
- 30:07Speaker 5: He's not a huge guy. I look up his size
- 30:09Speaker 5: right now.
- 30:12Speaker 3: So I don't know.
- 30:12Speaker 5: I just I just don't think that you have to
- 30:18Speaker 5: necessarily do both, Like I don't think you need to.
- 30:22Speaker 5: I don't think you need to be doing anything in
- 30:24Speaker 5: terms of not wanting to win games because it's gonna spoil.
- 30:27Speaker 5: Like there's a lot of people that don't even know
- 30:29Speaker 5: if the tackles are worth taking in the top ten, right,
- 30:32Speaker 5: So if that happens, then really, what are you doing yep.
- 30:38Speaker 3: Let's see, let's go to Eldred, North Carolina. What's up Aldred? Hey, Okay,
- 30:47Speaker 3: he's not he's not tiny question, Yes, sir, Walker, that was.
- 30:54Speaker 8: Made wide receiver. You got pretty good speed's pretty good size.
- 30:58Speaker 8: But some time he had the drops and he's not.
- 31:00Speaker 5: Is he any good.
- 31:03Speaker 8: They do for me?
- 31:05Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 31:05Speaker 8: They had good.
- 31:06Speaker 5: So do you think he's good?
- 31:10Speaker 8: I take a flower?
- 31:11Speaker 5: Yeah, my guest to That's that's my point.
- 31:16Speaker 8: The route running. I think he's blowing the route running right.
- 31:19Speaker 5: So we probably needs some time to develop. And then
- 31:21Speaker 5: you know, Baltimore is obviously going to go all in
- 31:23Speaker 5: on this year. They don't have reps to give him
- 31:27Speaker 5: to try to develop him while they're trying to win. Now,
- 31:30Speaker 5: so it's Zay Flowers, it's gonna be Deontay Johnson. Now,
- 31:33Speaker 5: it's gonna be Rashad Bateman and even Nelson Agalore. But
- 31:38Speaker 5: you know, a guy like a is probably not part
- 31:40Speaker 5: of their long term plans and they want your guy
- 31:43Speaker 5: to to to maybe replace him, you know, in the future.
- 31:47Speaker 5: So I just think that especially organizations like Baltimore that
- 31:51Speaker 5: have done a really good job of acquiring talent, their
- 31:54Speaker 5: personnel department has been really, really good. I would be
- 31:57Speaker 5: surprised if they wanted to give up on a guy
- 31:59Speaker 5: like that if he's that good, right, you know, And.
- 32:03Speaker 8: Like I say, he's pretty good back back back home.
- 32:06Speaker 8: But like I said, the problem is the route running.
- 32:09Speaker 8: But he doesn't lock down whatever the thing. Yeah, like
- 32:12Speaker 8: I said, for getting open, it gets to be. I
- 32:15Speaker 8: don't think he's fast and thought, but I think he's
- 32:18Speaker 8: just I think he got a four three. I think
- 32:20Speaker 8: he ran a four three forty if ain't.
- 32:22Speaker 5: Mistaken, trade him one for one thought for him?
- 32:26Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, I got a question to play you though,
- 32:28Speaker 8: Let's do it. I understand I'm kind of like Field
- 32:31Speaker 8: in a way. Uh, trade away a young past er
- 32:35Speaker 8: you couldn't get no better than a sixth, you know,
- 32:37Speaker 8: death like what Bill was doing getting, you know, trading
- 32:41Speaker 8: Mason got a four or fearful whatever, the Pro Bowl guard.
- 32:45Speaker 8: And that's what I can't understand.
- 32:48Speaker 3: Yeah, well, money has a lot to do with it
- 32:50Speaker 3: as well, and the you know, the where he is.
- 32:53Speaker 5: In his anything to do with this trade?
- 32:55Speaker 3: Do you change? No, Mason? You know you have to
- 32:58Speaker 3: pay the guy.
- 32:58Speaker 5: A third or you know he's not but he's not
- 33:02Speaker 5: worth a third though, Eldred like, he's not like he
- 33:07Speaker 5: has like twenty career sacks in five years, like four
- 33:11Speaker 5: and a half years. Like, why is someone going to
- 33:13Speaker 5: give you a second or third round pick for that?
- 33:16Speaker 3: Right?
- 33:18Speaker 8: Maybe because they were using him right here and they're
- 33:21Speaker 8: not using right where he's going.
- 33:22Speaker 5: Oh, I'm not telling you that he's I'm not telling
- 33:26Speaker 5: you he's without talent. He was a second round pick,
- 33:28Speaker 5: but he obviously hasn't panned out. And I just don't know.
- 33:32Speaker 5: If you want to give him away, then sure, team
- 33:35Speaker 5: like Kansas City will say we're going to be there
- 33:38Speaker 5: at the end of the year. They never have enough.
- 33:40Speaker 3: Pass feeling though, that there was something else going on
- 33:42Speaker 3: with him.
- 33:43Speaker 5: No, no, no, I don't think. I don't think he
- 33:48Speaker 5: I don't think he fits.
- 33:49Speaker 4: I've got a weird vibe from him the whole year.
- 33:52Speaker 3: It just went.
- 33:53Speaker 5: I'll tell you what I think his problem was was
- 33:57Speaker 5: I might he signed He signed a bad deal and
- 34:00Speaker 5: immediately regretted it. That's what I think his mental you know,
- 34:04Speaker 5: like from him, his mentality. But I don't I don't
- 34:09Speaker 5: think he fits the way the Patriots want to play defense.
- 34:11Speaker 5: They want their guys to be more physical out there.
- 34:14Speaker 5: Like Anthony Jennings. Now personally, it doesn't matter to me.
- 34:18Speaker 5: Like one does one thing really well, the other guy
- 34:20Speaker 5: does another thing really well. Mike has said this a
- 34:23Speaker 5: million times. If I could combine those two players right right,
- 34:27Speaker 5: you know, then you have something.
- 34:29Speaker 3: So Mike is back and you were in the locker room.
- 34:32Speaker 9: Back from the locker room?
- 34:34Speaker 2: What was the mood where the players friendly to that
- 34:36Speaker 2: none of them look.
- 34:37Speaker 9: Like Derek Henry?
- 34:39Speaker 7: Hey, Mike, what was it like in the locker room?
- 34:45Speaker 5: Like?
- 34:45Speaker 7: What was it like in the locker room?
- 34:49Speaker 3: So, Mike, what was it like in the locker room?
- 34:51Speaker 4: I thought there was a little energy today, you know,
- 34:53Speaker 4: I think a lot of the guys talking, uh felt
- 34:56Speaker 4: like trying to build off of last week.
- 34:57Speaker 5: That seemed like the Now where did most of your
- 34:59Speaker 5: talking take place in the locker room or in the
- 35:01Speaker 5: REVS area?
- 35:02Speaker 3: Well?
- 35:02Speaker 4: I made sure to observe both areas. I want to,
- 35:05Speaker 4: you know, give you guys the full report. So I
- 35:06Speaker 4: was in the locker room for a little bit, a
- 35:07Speaker 4: lot of little interviews going on over there, and then
- 35:10Speaker 4: I went to the REVS locker room. We heard from
- 35:11Speaker 4: Jelanie to Vai Key on White, Jonathan Jones, as well,
- 35:15Speaker 4: so the defensive guys again trying to talk about building
- 35:19Speaker 4: off of last week. I know Brissett said it in
- 35:21Speaker 4: his press conference, trying to you know, capture that momentum
- 35:24Speaker 4: that they kind of had at the end of that
- 35:25Speaker 4: game and build off of it. But I love Keon
- 35:27Speaker 4: White like this the way he I mean, I know
- 35:29Speaker 4: I apparently have a blind spot form when he's actually
- 35:31Speaker 4: playing football, but when he's actually talking in the locker room,
- 35:34Speaker 4: he's just so even keeled, and you know it wasn't
- 35:37Speaker 4: really impressed with what they did, and you know, just
- 35:40Speaker 4: said doesn't really mean much. We got to keep going,
- 35:43Speaker 4: we have to get better. It still wasn't good enough.
- 35:44Speaker 5: I like listening to him, Yeah, I do. We had
- 35:47Speaker 5: one that you and I were together in the summer
- 35:49Speaker 5: that we both came away like he's really good, really
- 35:52Speaker 5: self aware.
- 35:53Speaker 4: You know, when you talk about this team needing like
- 35:55Speaker 4: a like new leadership kind of phase of young guys
- 35:59Speaker 4: coming up. I just really like his his kind of
- 36:02Speaker 4: edge and he you know, he's not the same guy.
- 36:04Speaker 4: And then we talk about Willie McGinnis a lot as
- 36:06Speaker 4: a tone setter and you know, one of the originators
- 36:07Speaker 4: of the Patriot way. I think key On White has
- 36:10Speaker 4: a little bit of that in him. Of you know,
- 36:12Speaker 4: I remember there was a story earlier in the year
- 36:14Speaker 4: of him and Dietrich Wise where they were kind of
- 36:16Speaker 4: competing on squats and squat amounts, and like that felt
- 36:20Speaker 4: like the old Patriots to me, of guys really doing
- 36:23Speaker 4: extra pushing each other. It doesn't have to be the
- 36:26Speaker 4: most vocal guy, you know, certainly he's not the you know,
- 36:29Speaker 4: raw raw kind of energy guy. But I just I
- 36:31Speaker 4: really liked the message he consistently delivers it, and I
- 36:34Speaker 4: would a message.
- 36:35Speaker 5: You know, I have a question for Mike. Did you
- 36:38Speaker 5: talk to our media colleagues at all about Mayo and
- 36:45Speaker 5: Drake may No?
- 36:47Speaker 4: No, and you're you're wondering about a conversation we had
- 36:49Speaker 4: of exactly where he is in the concussion.
- 36:51Speaker 5: So we you know, when Fred and I opened the show,
- 36:54Speaker 5: we talked about Mayo and we said, you know, kind
- 36:56Speaker 5: of a little like a slight really good news. I
- 36:59Speaker 5: would say, you know, if Fred let off, it's a
- 37:01Speaker 5: good we got some good news that he's actually going
- 37:04Speaker 5: to be out there throwing or throwing the ball around
- 37:07Speaker 5: for thirty minutes or whatever. Right, So I think there
- 37:10Speaker 5: was a little confusion, and I was wondering if the
- 37:13Speaker 5: other writers stuff for right, if the other writers thought
- 37:16Speaker 5: the same thing, or if it's just something that you
- 37:18Speaker 5: and I were being a little dorky about.
- 37:19Speaker 4: Yeah, I should have I should have done that. Now
- 37:21Speaker 4: in retrospect, I should have maybe dug a little bit,
- 37:23Speaker 4: you know.
- 37:23Speaker 5: And I'm sure, like I don't know what we have before.
- 37:25Speaker 4: I'm sure was probably trying to check boxes with that
- 37:27Speaker 4: kind of thing, because he's very meticulous about details, this
- 37:30Speaker 4: kind of thing.
- 37:30Speaker 5: So we talked about it. We don't have to rehash it.
- 37:32Speaker 5: I just was curious to know if any of the
- 37:35Speaker 5: other writers thought, whoa is he in the third step
- 37:39Speaker 5: or the fourth step?
- 37:40Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 37:40Speaker 4: Yeah, well either way, he's not in one or two,
- 37:42Speaker 4: I would say, So that's probably the first thing.
- 37:44Speaker 5: If he was in one, you got major you got
- 37:47Speaker 5: major problems. Yeah, Like that's Fred's that he's in the
- 37:50Speaker 5: dark room somewhere. They can't even let them.
- 37:52Speaker 3: But but I think it's a bad thing to have
- 37:56Speaker 3: like rigid steps because everybody's different, you know, like the
- 38:00Speaker 3: doctor should just say, okay, I think you need another
- 38:03Speaker 3: couple of days, like putting you in step one.
- 38:05Speaker 5: Now you can do this, but it's but it's symptom free,
- 38:08Speaker 5: then you can do X. Then if you're symptom free
- 38:11Speaker 5: doing X, you can do why. That's how it works.
- 38:13Speaker 4: Yeah, I just found myself wondering, like some days I
- 38:16Speaker 4: don't know what you guys, I'm getting old, Like some
- 38:17Speaker 4: days I kind of have a headache, like is it
- 38:19Speaker 4: like is it so cut and dry? Like no, I
- 38:20Speaker 4: feel great.
- 38:21Speaker 5: I don't know. But if you ever had a headache
- 38:23Speaker 5: where you couldn't remember things, or.
- 38:25Speaker 3: Probably he got hit by a two by four, then
- 38:28Speaker 3: it's different.
- 38:28Speaker 5: It's like I had an Italian guy that gave him
- 38:31Speaker 5: a bump on the back of the head.
- 38:34Speaker 4: Grey, Why's he gotta be an Italian guy?
- 38:36Speaker 5: Because he was. All of Fred's stories involved like Richie
- 38:39Speaker 5: Campanella and Vincent Ventatula, Michael Michael Mercedi.
- 38:44Speaker 4: They're picking on the young kersh And you.
- 38:46Speaker 5: Know, like I always say, who's the only group that
- 38:48Speaker 5: you can still make fun of?
- 38:50Speaker 3: Making fun of Iris?
- 38:52Speaker 5: Irish? Irish are one and two.
- 38:54Speaker 3: There we go.
- 38:55Speaker 5: Irish and Italians.
- 38:56Speaker 3: Just happened to be their name. That's all.
- 38:58Speaker 5: No repercussions anything.
- 39:00Speaker 3: Else from the locker room.
- 39:01Speaker 4: Mike, you know number ten, did not see number ten.
- 39:04Speaker 4: A lot of conversations with Joe Milton, though, I think
- 39:06Speaker 4: people are a little interested if Joe Milton potentially could
- 39:09Speaker 4: be the next man up at the quarterback position. A
- 39:11Speaker 4: lot of conversations with kJ Osborne as well, talking.
- 39:14Speaker 5: About considerably j Osborne talk.
- 39:16Speaker 4: You know, could he could he get traded?
- 39:18Speaker 5: I mean, I'd be Joe Milton. Stuff like that kind
- 39:21Speaker 5: of stuff always fascinates me.
- 39:22Speaker 3: How oh people just love that.
- 39:24Speaker 5: They love to clutch the pearls about the backup quarterback.
- 39:29Speaker 3: Any media talk about the Justina Anderson tweet?
- 39:32Speaker 4: No, no, oh, the trade that open for bespring people
- 39:36Speaker 4: in not no, not that, not that I heard. But
- 39:38Speaker 4: I mean I've seen plenty of tweets from our media
- 39:40Speaker 4: corps that I think, you know, I think people be
- 39:42Speaker 4: open to it. I think Evan had a tweet about
- 39:44Speaker 4: Montes Sweat last year where the you know Bears went
- 39:46Speaker 4: and got him and signed him to an extension and
- 39:48Speaker 4: now he's, you know, part of their defensive fabric. So
- 39:51Speaker 4: I think just because you're not on the verge of
- 39:52Speaker 4: trying to make a playoff run, there are moves out
- 39:54Speaker 4: there that you could, you know, potentially talk yourself into
- 39:57Speaker 4: certainly a guy that you know they're able to retain
- 39:59Speaker 4: for a while. I just it's so hard trying to
- 40:01Speaker 4: predict who it might be. There's not a lot of people.
- 40:04Speaker 5: Who are I would absolutely be looking to make a
- 40:06Speaker 5: deal like that. A younger guy that you could see
- 40:10Speaker 5: is part of your future.
- 40:11Speaker 4: Maybe make a jump. I mean I've said before, I mean,
- 40:14Speaker 4: I know, you know, Elliot Wolf's been around for a
- 40:15Speaker 4: little while. I'm sure that there are guys that he
- 40:17Speaker 4: really likes out there that you know. Maybe it's hard
- 40:19Speaker 4: for us to tell, but being in the league and
- 40:22Speaker 4: studying all the personnel, and you know, I mean even
- 40:24Speaker 4: I'm like, oh, I remember that guy from the draft.
- 40:26Speaker 4: I really liked him. You know, if you have an
- 40:28Speaker 4: opportunity to get one of those guys you remember liking,
- 40:30Speaker 4: maybe you jump on the opportunity.
- 40:33Speaker 3: Let's see this is Andrew writes in says Belichick didn't
- 40:38Speaker 3: leave the team with a lot of talent, but he
- 40:39Speaker 3: definitely left the team with a healthy salary cap. Just
- 40:42Speaker 3: a few thoughts on the Patriots financials for twenty twenty five.
- 40:46Speaker 3: Critics point to a talent gap, but the salary cap
- 40:49Speaker 3: tells a different story. For twenty twenty five thirty seven
- 40:53Speaker 3: million in cap this year, with one hundred and thirty
- 40:55Speaker 3: three million projected next year. Only four players Henry and
- 40:59Speaker 3: when you Dugger and Barmore will make more than ten million,
- 41:02Speaker 3: one hundred and thirty seven million in spending power with
- 41:05Speaker 3: forty two players returning. And then he cites this over
- 41:08Speaker 3: the cap website. Have you seen it? A decent site?
- 41:12Speaker 5: Jason's like Miguel, he does that stuff.
- 41:14Speaker 3: Yeah. It ranks the Patriots seventeenth for value on contracts,
- 41:18Speaker 3: a solid position with room for growth. This metric compares
- 41:22Speaker 3: PFF grade to the contract to determine if team is
- 41:26Speaker 3: overpaying for their players. So with that said, he's wondering,
- 41:31Speaker 3: you know, are there any players in their free agent page?
- 41:34Speaker 3: And I looked at it. It's it's a long list
- 41:36Speaker 3: of free you know, decent free agents.
- 41:38Speaker 5: Can I have a list of the bottom five in
- 41:40Speaker 5: that category? Does he have that? Or just the Patriots?
- 41:43Speaker 3: Let's see you want.
- 41:44Speaker 4: The over the Wow, he hot linked his email and everything.
- 41:47Speaker 4: It's I mean, it's exactly.
- 41:50Speaker 5: I'm listening. I'm listening to him say that there's seventeenth
- 41:52Speaker 5: in like sort of contract value. So is the team
- 41:56Speaker 5: that's like thirty second in contract value to say the
- 41:59Speaker 5: Carolina Panthers, to which I'd say, oh, that's better to be.
- 42:02Speaker 5: Or is it like, you know, the Baltimore Ravens.
- 42:05Speaker 4: Yeah, that's gonna do a little yeah sotal researcher. I
- 42:09Speaker 4: just say in regards to next year, minute's just there
- 42:11Speaker 4: aren't a lot of in house pieces to worry about
- 42:13Speaker 4: next year. I mean, you know Jonathan Jones, but it's
- 42:16Speaker 4: not like you have bar More Doug or you know
- 42:18Speaker 4: all those contracts that were pending last year that you
- 42:20Speaker 4: had to figure out, Like, there's not really anything internally.
- 42:23Speaker 4: I feel like that's hanging over their eyes.
- 42:25Speaker 5: I just can't embrace the idea that things are better
- 42:29Speaker 5: than you think because this cap space, like a CASA space,
- 42:32Speaker 5: does not translated to success.
- 42:34Speaker 4: Now it scares me because I want to draft, develop, retain,
- 42:38Speaker 4: and there's nobody really to retain. So now you're stuck
- 42:41Speaker 4: having to go to free agency. And I think that
- 42:42Speaker 4: it's you know, it's risky with some of those spots
- 42:45Speaker 4: of you know, overpaying on certain guys like I just
- 42:48Speaker 4: I don't know what's your question.
- 42:49Speaker 5: Paul, Because he's seventeenth, he had the Patriots seventeenth in
- 42:53Speaker 5: contract value. Who's like the bottom five teams in that the.
- 42:57Speaker 3: Worst, the worst Lions, bottom of the barrel.
- 43:00Speaker 5: I need I need no more done. I'm done. That's
- 43:04Speaker 5: exactly what I was thinking. Yeah, the nerds think that
- 43:08Speaker 5: those contracts are bad value because they gave everybody they
- 43:11Speaker 5: they have drafted very well, and everybody got an extension,
- 43:14Speaker 5: big extent like penisul. Yeah, they signed a lot of
- 43:19Speaker 5: high money, big money incentive extensions, and they arguably have
- 43:26Speaker 5: the best talent in the league. I'll take the best
- 43:28Speaker 5: talent in the league and bad value. I'll take that
- 43:30Speaker 5: any day of the week.
- 43:31Speaker 3: Right, And you know, are you surprised to find out
- 43:35Speaker 3: that the Bills are number four, like at the top? Right?
- 43:38Speaker 5: Perfect? Yeah, so the good teams are at the bottom.
- 43:42Speaker 3: Right, No, that's he meant the other way. No, the
- 43:43Speaker 3: other way.
- 43:44Speaker 5: Oh well, they just sheded a lot of talent.
- 43:46Speaker 3: Yeah that's right, you're right.
- 43:48Speaker 5: But remember you guys all told me.
- 43:51Speaker 4: It's both arms together.
- 43:53Speaker 5: I did.
- 43:53Speaker 4: Now those are hands.
- 43:55Speaker 5: As long as as long as you have now the
- 43:58Speaker 5: big difference, I'm not going to be fraudulent. Buffalo's talent
- 44:03Speaker 5: top to bottom is not on par with Detroit's but
- 44:06Speaker 5: they have a quarterback that is so.
- 44:08Speaker 3: I don't think this really changes any rhyme or reasons.
- 44:11Speaker 3: I mean, I would agree with that the Chiefs are
- 44:13Speaker 3: right behind the Patriot.
- 44:14Speaker 4: Especially when you're right in the middle of seventeen.
- 44:17Speaker 5: I just my larger point is I don't like that
- 44:22Speaker 5: people like so Bill Belichick didn't do a good job
- 44:25Speaker 5: because he left a salary cap in a good spot.
- 44:27Speaker 5: I'm sorry Bill's last three four or five years we
- 44:30Speaker 5: were awful, and in terms of personnel, they're not any
- 44:33Speaker 5: better because he didn't tie them down with bad personnel
- 44:36Speaker 5: on bad contracts. Yeah, it's not that's not better to
- 44:39Speaker 5: me like that have a lot of having a lot
- 44:42Speaker 5: of cap space is not always a great thing.
- 44:46Speaker 4: It's interesting to me because I'm I find myself a
- 44:49Speaker 4: little you know, one I head to the off season
- 44:50Speaker 4: a little bit is balancing. We know what positions they need,
- 44:53Speaker 4: but balancing what what positions make more sense maybe with
- 44:56Speaker 4: a veteran and doesn't have to be I'm not saying
- 44:58Speaker 4: like a thirty two year old veteran, but I love
- 45:01Speaker 4: like they did a couple of years ago, guys coming
- 45:02Speaker 4: off their first contract. But does it make you know,
- 45:05Speaker 4: you kind of divvy up. All right, they're definitely gonna
- 45:07Speaker 4: need an edge guy, they're gonna need a tackle, they're
- 45:09Speaker 4: gonna need you know, you know, try to get a
- 45:11Speaker 4: really good wide receiver. What makes the most sense. Like
- 45:13Speaker 4: sometimes I feel like at least for like a defensive
- 45:15Speaker 4: let's just say, not a big knee, but defensive tackle,
- 45:17Speaker 4: Like might like to get a veteran in there. You know,
- 45:20Speaker 4: like you know what you're getting. It's an established position
- 45:22Speaker 4: if you've done it once, you're like.
- 45:23Speaker 5: A younger Lawrence guy, like yep.
- 45:25Speaker 4: Perfect perfect, you know, but with someone like the weapons
- 45:29Speaker 4: stuff where you're getting expensive, I might prefer to go
- 45:32Speaker 4: to the draft. I don't have like a firm philosophy.
- 45:34Speaker 4: That's an interesting the.
- 45:34Speaker 5: Receiver for the receivers, I'd like to do both. But yeah,
- 45:37Speaker 5: I totally agree with your premise, Mike. You know, there's
- 45:40Speaker 5: certain spots that you don't necessarily like you're probably not
- 45:42Speaker 5: going to be able to sign a left tackle. And
- 45:44Speaker 5: free agency, Yes, Orlando Brown moved in free agency a
- 45:47Speaker 5: couple of years ago. He's you know, big money, big
- 45:50Speaker 5: money guy that moved a couple of times. That's kind
- 45:52Speaker 5: of rare.
- 45:53Speaker 4: Yeah, the franchise, twenty six year old coming off somehow
- 45:56Speaker 4: getting to.
- 45:56Speaker 5: Free and somehow he's on a team that doesn't want
- 45:58Speaker 5: to keep him, and he's really good, you know. I
- 46:00Speaker 5: mean they move like Trent Williams moved.
- 46:02Speaker 4: I mean it was a little different.
- 46:03Speaker 3: Happy.
- 46:04Speaker 5: There's a little different because he was unhappy with where
- 46:06Speaker 5: he was and got his way out of there. But
- 46:09Speaker 5: I think that's a position that I would say, probably
- 46:11Speaker 5: need to address it in the draft. Yeah, whereas receiver,
- 46:16Speaker 5: I think you need to do both because you need
- 46:18Speaker 5: more than one.
- 46:18Speaker 3: Yeah, TPX outline eight five to five Pats five hundred.
- 46:22Speaker 3: Aaron is in Toronto. What's up, Aaron?
- 46:26Speaker 10: Hey?
- 46:26Speaker 3: Everyone?
- 46:27Speaker 11: I want to run by some over unders by you.
- 46:30Speaker 11: That's cool? Yeah, okay, First, over or under zero point
- 46:35Speaker 11: five players on the Patriots will finish the season with
- 46:38Speaker 11: double digit.
- 46:39Speaker 3: Attacks, double digits.
- 46:43Speaker 5: I'm going to say under just forced the team.
- 46:47Speaker 4: I think, so.
- 46:49Speaker 5: I'll say I think.
- 46:54Speaker 11: Second, the Patriots will have over or under one and
- 46:58Speaker 11: a half.
- 46:58Speaker 3: Pro bowlers over under one and a half Pro bowlers
- 47:02Speaker 3: under yeah, probably under Well, you're talking first team Pro
- 47:06Speaker 3: bowlers because they might have some alternates.
- 47:09Speaker 5: I'm going to say under schoolers a lock either or.
- 47:14Speaker 3: I mean Baringer could make it.
- 47:16Speaker 5: I didn't say who you mean that they that it's
- 47:18Speaker 5: over under one and a.
- 47:19Speaker 3: Half, I'll say over one and a half, I'll say
- 47:21Speaker 3: over cool.
- 47:23Speaker 11: I'm not sure if I heard you mentioned Gonzo, but
- 47:25Speaker 11: I think he should make it this year.
- 47:28Speaker 4: Next year.
- 47:29Speaker 3: Well, there's other people he's going on.
- 47:31Speaker 4: I think it's just more of a popularity contest with
- 47:33Speaker 4: these I feel like it's not.
- 47:35Speaker 3: It's also he's only done it for Yeah, he hasn't
- 47:37Speaker 3: even done it for a full season.
- 47:38Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean in Fred's qualifier is accurate too, Like,
- 47:42Speaker 5: is he going to get it over like Patrick Chartan?
- 47:44Speaker 5: Probably not? But is you know, is he going to
- 47:46Speaker 5: be one of four corners five corners that ends up
- 47:48Speaker 5: being named Pro Bowl and maybe?
- 47:50Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 47:50Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 47:51Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 47:52Speaker 11: Hey, I'm not calling him an All Projects yet.
- 47:54Speaker 5: He's not an All Pro man.
- 47:56Speaker 3: No.
- 47:57Speaker 11: But lastly, the Patriots will win over under two and
- 48:00Speaker 11: a half games for the rest of the season, two
- 48:03Speaker 11: and a half over the rest of the season.
- 48:06Speaker 5: So so wait, so they win three more games or two?
- 48:10Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 48:11Speaker 3: Okay, so they could end up with five. That's a
- 48:15Speaker 3: tough one. Can I push I think that's what I
- 48:19Speaker 3: end up. I think they're gonna win a half. I
- 48:21Speaker 3: think they're gonna win three more games.
- 48:23Speaker 5: Oh that's over then, Yeah, I'll take the over because
- 48:27Speaker 5: I work for the Patriots.
- 48:28Speaker 3: Yeah, definitely, all right, yeah, all right, thanks thanks Aaron.
- 48:32Speaker 5: I like over unders. That was fun.
- 48:35Speaker 3: Why did this just freeze up? Now?
- 48:37Speaker 5: I don't know?
- 48:38Speaker 4: Oops, it's the mouse?
- 48:41Speaker 5: Hell so well, Fred's trying to fix this.
- 48:44Speaker 3: Hold on, No, I got it, I got it ready.
- 48:47Speaker 3: Kendall in North Carolina? What's up, Kendall, Hey, it's going on?
- 48:52Speaker 13: I got a question. Yeah, yeah, with the trade deadline,
- 48:57Speaker 13: where the Patriots or any team with the day being
- 48:59Speaker 13: wind today and which is when teams normally start game
- 49:02Speaker 13: playing for the week, if a trade is going to
- 49:04Speaker 13: happen anything, would they be like a Monday or Tuesday
- 49:07Speaker 13: thing or did it happen anything.
- 49:11Speaker 4: I think you're in the red. You're in the anytime
- 49:12Speaker 4: right now between now and next Tuesday. But I dispect
- 49:15Speaker 4: deadlines sper actions, so probably you know next Monday tuesdays
- 49:19Speaker 4: when you're gonna.
- 49:19Speaker 5: Hear I mean, I think it's probably not a stretch
- 49:21Speaker 5: to say that. Josh Ucha, Sorry, Joshua, Hush mister Joshua
- 49:28Speaker 5: was probably traded before that game. I believe the parameters
- 49:31Speaker 5: of that trade were already in place before that game
- 49:34Speaker 5: and that's why he was inactive. That would be my guess.
- 49:37Speaker 5: But yeah, I mean for the most part, you're going
- 49:39Speaker 5: to find out about those things early in the week.
- 49:40Speaker 4: You might have a team with the disappointing loss this
- 49:42Speaker 4: weekend they feel like they got to make a move Monday, Tuesday,
- 49:45Speaker 4: next week.
- 49:49Speaker 5: Yeah, it could happen anytime, though. I think Mike is
- 49:54Speaker 5: right about that. I think you know, you don't have
- 49:56Speaker 5: it doesn't have to be, but for practical purposes.
- 49:59Speaker 4: It's probably something matter when you know you got to make.
- 50:01Speaker 5: Probably something that happens early in the week, and then
- 50:04Speaker 5: you can sort of figure out if you want to
- 50:06Speaker 5: try to get that guy involved in that game.
- 50:08Speaker 4: Yeahs saying in the locker room too, Jonathan Jones, you know,
- 50:11Speaker 4: being asked about Roachie. It was funny. It was like,
- 50:13Speaker 4: you know, Rochie's like, how have you enjoyed your time
- 50:15Speaker 4: in New England? And Jonathan Jones is like, I feel.
- 50:17Speaker 5: Like you're trying to push me out already, But that
- 50:20Speaker 5: is an odd It's not like you just got here
- 50:23Speaker 5: and I really, I mean, listen, they can trade anybody
- 50:26Speaker 5: like the Patriots could. I would be very surprised if
- 50:28Speaker 5: he's one of the veterans that got moved. Yeah, that
- 50:31Speaker 5: one would really surprise me.
- 50:32Speaker 3: Paul writes in from the colony. He said, Fred, where
- 50:36Speaker 3: are you getting that info on the stupid Yankee fans?
- 50:38Speaker 3: The New York Post just said the fans are banned
- 50:41Speaker 3: from game six as well. The next game is game five.
- 50:44Speaker 3: But anyway, Uh, the fans initially told ESPN that they
- 50:47Speaker 3: were told they'd be allowed to return for Wednesday Game five,
- 50:51Speaker 3: which the Yankees force were there. Yeah, so they were
- 50:55Speaker 3: told I don't know, that's what I heard.
- 50:57Speaker 5: Yankees can't ban them from the game. That Game six
- 50:59Speaker 5: is in l a right if it takes place, right.
- 51:02Speaker 7: What did you hear? Fred?
- 51:04Speaker 3: I heard that the ya being celebrated back for Game
- 51:07Speaker 3: five and like as conquering him.
- 51:09Speaker 5: I hadn't heard that.
- 51:10Speaker 4: Did you see the struggle like they have there?
- 51:13Speaker 5: Did you see the guy's face?
- 51:15Speaker 3: Yeah, it was like a two year old trying to
- 51:17Speaker 3: get it.
- 51:19Speaker 14: So the fans told ESPN that security told them they
- 51:22Speaker 14: would be allowed back for Game five.
- 51:23Speaker 5: Fred is right, so that they were sports right now.
- 51:28Speaker 5: Oh not me. I didn't say that guy, you know that.
- 51:32Speaker 3: Wasn't direct Paul in the colony.
- 51:34Speaker 5: Oh okay, I was like, not you, I didn't. I
- 51:38Speaker 5: haven't heard anything about any repercussions with those guys. If
- 51:41Speaker 5: I were, if I was in charge of the Yankees,
- 51:43Speaker 5: they'd be banned for life. I wouldn't let him back
- 51:45Speaker 5: because but you're talking about that look on the guy's face.
- 51:49Speaker 5: That guy had malice in his eyes. Like Fred was saying, like,
- 51:53Speaker 5: but what if it didn't end so innocently. What if
- 51:55Speaker 5: he's like twisting the glove and all of a sudden
- 51:57Speaker 5: he twists the wrists and monkey bets is out.
- 52:00Speaker 4: It's funny when the ump came over and was like
- 52:02Speaker 4: yelling at him, and they were.
- 52:02Speaker 5: Like and they're like, they're trying to plead their case.
- 52:07Speaker 5: He was in like, this doesn't this has very little
- 52:10Speaker 5: to do with fan interference. You were like, you grabbed
- 52:14Speaker 5: the guy's glove and twisted it.
- 52:16Speaker 4: Salt, Yes, it's a salt brother Mookie's skinny.
- 52:21Speaker 14: And according to ESPN, they had discussed pregame what they
- 52:23Speaker 14: would do if a fall ball came there.
- 52:26Speaker 4: Oh jeez, we're gonna go get it.
- 52:29Speaker 3: Hey, it's it's idiot. You cannot encourage that type of behavior.
- 52:33Speaker 5: I agree. That's why I was surprised when Fred said that.
- 52:36Speaker 4: The my buddy Kyle Brent went as uh as what
- 52:39Speaker 4: was his name? Hert what was the kid's name from
- 52:41Speaker 4: the Cubs that Uh.
- 52:43Speaker 3: I'm so shocked that Kyle Brent dressed up for Oh no.
- 52:46Speaker 4: He had that Who is the kid? The Cubs kid
- 52:48Speaker 4: with the headphone Steve Bartman. I want to say, oh yeah,
- 52:50Speaker 4: remember that man, he was the one who like screw is.
- 52:54Speaker 5: Now the New York Post is saying that the fans
- 52:57Speaker 5: are banned according to the post game five for Game five. Yeah, yeah,
- 53:01Speaker 5: which they should be. They should be absolutely Just don't.
- 53:04Speaker 4: Let him sit near the field.
- 53:05Speaker 5: All right, let's go back to the phone to look
- 53:08Speaker 5: in the guy's face. It wasn't like Fred, Fred's so right.
- 53:10Speaker 5: It was like a two year old trying to get
- 53:12Speaker 5: his blocks back from the other kid.
- 53:15Speaker 3: Yeah, oh my god. Uh, Alex is an Augusta. What's
- 53:20Speaker 3: up Alex?
- 53:22Speaker 12: Hey guys, time, long time, but all happy and healthy.
- 53:26Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 53:27Speaker 12: I got a stat here the last of the Jets.
- 53:29Speaker 12: Do you guys want it?
- 53:31Speaker 3: What a stat of what.
- 53:35Speaker 12: It's a stat over the last forty years or so,
- 53:40Speaker 12: so the Jets score twenty plus points and committed zero
- 53:43Speaker 12: turnovers last week. They also held their oponents under two
- 53:47Speaker 12: hundred and fifty yards an offense right from nineteen forty
- 53:50Speaker 12: until yet until Sunday, the teams were seven hundred and
- 53:54Speaker 12: fifty six and zero while doing that.
- 53:56Speaker 3: Yes, now, the Deaths are the only ones that lost. Yes,
- 53:59Speaker 3: we talked about that yesterday. Thanks Alex. That's a good stat.
- 54:02Speaker 4: Wasn't there another stat like that from the Cincinnati win?
- 54:04Speaker 4: A similar I'm forgetting what it was, but a similar
- 54:07Speaker 4: kind of like, this is the first team a team
- 54:09Speaker 4: time a team has racked up this many yards with
- 54:12Speaker 4: you know, I don't remember what the new the exact detail,
- 54:15Speaker 4: but it feels like these Patriots are breaking these records
- 54:17Speaker 4: like left and right.
- 54:18Speaker 3: Well, in this case, the Jets did, but yeah, the
- 54:21Speaker 3: Patriots all part of it, right.
- 54:24Speaker 5: And we made the point that even though they technically
- 54:26Speaker 5: didn't have a turnover, they had a lot of turnover
- 54:28Speaker 5: worthy plays, like when you miss two extra points in
- 54:32Speaker 5: a field goal, when you snap the ball to a
- 54:36Speaker 5: quarterback who's in the shotgun and fumble in the red zone, you.
- 54:39Speaker 3: Get a delay of game, you get a delay of game.
- 54:41Speaker 5: You know, like they did a lot of things that
- 54:44Speaker 5: you know, all was sixty two yard part return. Those
- 54:46Speaker 5: things are like turnovers.
- 54:48Speaker 3: Ernie's in Tennessee. What's up, Ernie?
- 54:51Speaker 10: Ooh, I'm enjoying you guys. I'm excited. I'm going to
- 54:55Speaker 10: the Titans game. I picked the Titans game this weekend.
- 54:59Speaker 3: Ernie, So do you do? You live close to Nashville
- 55:03Speaker 3: about an hour. What's the best ribs place in Nashville?
- 55:08Speaker 10: Best ribs place? It's my house?
- 55:11Speaker 3: Oh okay, so you're cooking?
- 55:13Speaker 5: What time should Fred be there?
- 55:17Speaker 11: So?
- 55:17Speaker 3: I've been to Martins and that was pretty good.
- 55:20Speaker 10: I don't go to Nashville that often. The only time
- 55:22Speaker 10: I've been to Nashville is to go to the hospital
- 55:25Speaker 10: the Vanderbilt.
- 55:26Speaker 3: So okay, I don't really go.
- 55:28Speaker 10: There all right that much? Okay, I stay. I'm in Clarksville,
- 55:32Speaker 10: so little twenty of restaurants here, so that's where I stay.
- 55:35Speaker 3: Okay, there's both.
- 55:37Speaker 12: A good weather.
- 55:38Speaker 3: Yep. Weather's gonna be nice.
- 55:41Speaker 10: Yep, it would be really nice. My son and I
- 55:44Speaker 10: both bought the jerseys for the for the game.
- 55:47Speaker 3: Okay.
- 55:48Speaker 10: My son got a good Drake May jersey, and I
- 55:52Speaker 10: got a Mike Rabel jersey.
- 55:53Speaker 3: There you go, nice new school, old school duce where
- 55:59Speaker 3: you're sitting in the nosebleed noseblea. Okay, yeah, all right,
- 56:06Speaker 3: all right.
- 56:07Speaker 10: I got a question how to get in touch with
- 56:11Speaker 10: Patriot spans from Nashville.
- 56:13Speaker 6: Or that area.
- 56:15Speaker 3: Okay, so you want to get to the Nashville Uh,
- 56:18Speaker 3: go to Patriots dot com and go into the fan zone.
- 56:23Speaker 3: And once you get into the fan zone, there your
- 56:25Speaker 3: thing there called fan Club Registry. Go into that and
- 56:29Speaker 3: type in Nashville and you'll get the contact information for
- 56:34Speaker 3: the Nashville Patriots Fan Club.
- 56:36Speaker 8: Uh.
- 56:37Speaker 3: And it's an email address, and I think there might
- 56:39Speaker 3: even be a phone number, but you can email the
- 56:42Speaker 3: president of the fan club and and get you know, uh,
- 56:47Speaker 3: get involved with them. The guy that runs the club
- 56:50Speaker 3: is he's awesome, he's he's excellent.
- 56:54Speaker 10: Okay, great, thank you.
- 56:55Speaker 3: Okay, you're welcome, Ernie And all right.
- 57:01Speaker 5: Fine, Ernie. Yeah, yeah, I was waiting dues for for
- 57:05Speaker 5: Fred to put out like the call like you know,
- 57:08Speaker 5: Nashville Patriots fans.
- 57:10Speaker 3: You don't have to put the call for Nashville fans.
- 57:13Speaker 3: They they know how to gather. They know how to gather.
- 57:17Speaker 3: I'm surprised I haven't heard of something for Saturday night. Yeah.
- 57:21Speaker 3: So if you know Barry in Seong.
- 57:24Speaker 5: You just want to like go and enjoy it, like
- 57:26Speaker 5: after you know, putting on the big shindig that you didn't, right.
- 57:29Speaker 3: I just want to be with the people.
- 57:30Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, no speeches this time.
- 57:33Speaker 3: Yeah. So my plan is to go to Martin's. But
- 57:37Speaker 3: you got to get there early because they do run
- 57:39Speaker 3: out because they only have a certain amount. Every night
- 57:44Speaker 3: they run out of ribs. Yeah. Oh yeah, they run
- 57:46Speaker 3: out of ribs. They only make a certain amount. So
- 57:49Speaker 3: you know, as soon as we get there, I'm gonna
- 57:51Speaker 3: head out to Martin's get some ribs.
- 57:54Speaker 4: Sounds pretty good, did you guys? I don't know if
- 57:56Speaker 4: you guys have seen you come, Well you come from
- 57:58Speaker 4: the north. That what's that old red what was that?
- 58:00Speaker 4: The red rooster, the red red Wing, the red Wing.
- 58:02Speaker 4: Looks like it's gonna be a barbecue place. They got
- 58:03Speaker 4: a big, really couple of big giant smokers set up.
- 58:06Speaker 4: I mean they're doing like the paving and the that's
- 58:08Speaker 4: not a bad idea right now, but it looks like
- 58:10Speaker 4: there's gonna be.
- 58:11Speaker 3: A be because there is there is a shortage of
- 58:13Speaker 3: good barbecue in this area.
- 58:16Speaker 5: Yeah, so, Mike, it might be something we we think
- 58:19Speaker 5: about partaking in during the off season.
- 58:21Speaker 4: That's well, have a little time lunch date.
- 58:23Speaker 5: Maybe on some random Wednesday or Yeah, I think.
- 58:26Speaker 4: We could do that.
- 58:26Speaker 3: There was there was a good one called Carnivores in Bellingham,
- 58:30Speaker 3: but they closed up.
- 58:32Speaker 14: According to the Internet, peg Leg Porker is the best
- 58:34Speaker 14: ribs in Nashville right now.
- 58:36Speaker 3: Peg Leg Porker Porker on Gleaves Street. Okay, sat near Broadway?
- 58:43Speaker 3: Do you think.
- 58:45Speaker 5: Formats? Matt's got a GPS out over there, so I'm
- 58:50Speaker 5: in my map.
- 58:51Speaker 3: Trying to get my bearings.
- 58:52Speaker 4: He did such a great job driving us all over
- 58:53Speaker 4: Nashville when we're there a couple of summers ago. Like
- 58:55Speaker 4: he's I thought he knew the area.
- 58:56Speaker 5: But Chad's in l a for a minute walk.
- 59:02Speaker 3: That's not bad. Peg Leg Porker, Poker, peg Leg Porker. Okay,
- 59:08Speaker 3: all right, that's a good name. What's that Chad?
- 59:12Speaker 10: Hey, how are you guys?
- 59:13Speaker 3: Okay?
- 59:16Speaker 15: So, uh, Fred, I know you're a Magic fan and
- 59:19Speaker 15: there's a club in Nashville. I don't know if you'll
- 59:22Speaker 15: have time for it. But it's called House of Cards.
- 59:25Speaker 15: It's a really amazing place, so if you get a
- 59:27Speaker 15: chance to check that out, you should.
- 59:29Speaker 3: Okay, well, how close is that to Broadways.
- 59:31Speaker 15: That I'm in Los Angeles?
- 59:36Speaker 3: Okay, I'm gonna look it up, the House House of Cards?
- 59:39Speaker 3: All right, thank you? I will check suddenly.
- 59:43Speaker 5: Fred's book Solid for his Nashville trip.
- 59:45Speaker 4: Barbeque and magic.
- 59:46Speaker 3: I do love magic.
- 59:47Speaker 5: I do love magic.
- 59:48Speaker 3: Yeah, I do party and I have that in common.
- 59:51Speaker 5: So do you remember when we used to have you know,
- 59:52Speaker 5: the I forget his name was John John. Oh yeah,
- 59:56Speaker 5: we had the house in House magician. Do you remember
- 59:58Speaker 5: how we used to absolutely baffle Jacoby Brissett when Jacoby
- 1:00:03Speaker 5: was here the first time around.
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: I didn't know that him in particular.
- 1:00:06Speaker 5: Oh yeah, yeah, I could see it.
- 1:00:08Speaker 15: Are you guys still there?
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: Yeah? We're here? Yes? Are you yeah?
- 1:00:11Speaker 15: Okay?
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: Cool?
- 1:00:12Speaker 8: Right.
- 1:00:13Speaker 15: So my past question is in the next ten years,
- 1:00:18Speaker 15: who would you rather be still be a patriot for
- 1:00:27Speaker 15: Great May?
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: In ten years?
- 1:00:29Speaker 5: I can only pick one? Yeah May?
- 1:00:33Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean I don't I'd say the same.
- 1:00:36Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 1:00:37Speaker 4: Then you got a quarter you have a question.
- 1:00:38Speaker 5: I know my quarterback is good. You don't hear me
- 1:00:39Speaker 5: out to a quarterback for ten years if he's not good.
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: But if Mayo's gone, that means well, if if May's good,
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: they're both gonna be here. Don't you think that's why?
- 1:00:50Speaker 5: That's why I yeah, it's a good question. It's a
- 1:00:53Speaker 5: great question. But that's why I asked to clarify. See,
- 1:00:55Speaker 5: I would because I could make an argument that if
- 1:00:58Speaker 5: the coach is still here for ten years, he's probably
- 1:01:00Speaker 5: done a pretty good job.
- 1:01:01Speaker 9: Right.
- 1:01:01Speaker 5: But if you're asking me what I'd rather have for
- 1:01:04Speaker 5: ten years a really good coach are a really good quarterback,
- 1:01:06Speaker 5: I'll take the quarterback.
- 1:01:08Speaker 4: If it's just Girod winning no matter who they have, all.
- 1:01:10Speaker 5: Right, who they put in, I'm just going to the
- 1:01:13Speaker 5: limb saying he ain't winning enough. I know, yeah, without
- 1:01:18Speaker 5: a quarterback.
- 1:01:18Speaker 4: But that will be the Sererence scenario where you feel like,
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: may I mean, look at Herbert, right, like, that's kind
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: of the situation where this young quarterback really good, we
- 1:01:26Speaker 4: want to hang on to him.
- 1:01:27Speaker 5: This guy comes up with one right out of the
- 1:01:28Speaker 5: shoot that I would say, Yeah, that's a good point,
- 1:01:31Speaker 5: because my guess is Herbert will be the Chargers quarterback
- 1:01:34Speaker 5: for ten years and doesn't necessarily mean they're gonna.
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: Win a second right, so asking I shall receive Barrion
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: Sion rights in he says. Downtown. Justin, who is the
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: head of the Nashville Fan Club, says they'll be having
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: gathering at the Live Oak Music Row from six to
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: nine college football on the TV's All Day. Feel free
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: to post up and enjoy a beer. They have beer
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: towers in unlimited buckets. I like that. Wow, like the
- 1:02:08Speaker 3: sound of that. Nashville Pats will be hook co hosting
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: with the New England Patriots fan Engagement team for an
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: awesome fan rally at our home barm seed by Sarge.
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: Why don't I know any about this? M seed by Sarge,
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: the voices, a less stadium and guest appearances by New
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: England Pages cheerleaders and pat the Patriot, not Fred Kirsh.
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: So no one tells me about this.
- 1:02:32Speaker 5: So just so you know, the look on your face
- 1:02:34Speaker 5: is speaks he speaks volume. Yeah, how does it feel
- 1:02:37Speaker 5: to be like me?
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: Yeah? No, I hear you, Paul, I hear you.
- 1:02:40Speaker 5: You know, like say, when the schedule comes out.
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: Yeah, we also have a special guest player alumnus for
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: a Q and A with Sarge and fans on stage
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: at Live Oak. There will be raffle component to the event.
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: All pro seeds will benefit the Craft Foundation. This is
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: a free to enter event and participation in the raffle
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: fundraise bred doesn't go down, grab prime seats for the
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: event and stay late. This is the party of the weekend.
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: So again, it's the Live Oak Music Row six to
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: nine on Saturday. This. I guess I'm non invited, but
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: thank you Barry.
- 1:03:18Speaker 14: Well, your new friend is a three minute walk from there.
- 1:03:22Speaker 4: You go mat, you get your magic, you get your
- 1:03:24Speaker 4: bar and then you go.
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: How do I not know this?
- 1:03:27Speaker 5: I might you need to put all this on your phone.
- 1:03:31Speaker 5: You have quite a busy Saturday, young man.
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: I do, yeah, But I'm not invited, Paul, So I'm you.
- 1:03:36Speaker 5: Know, Barry just invited you. Barry's family. I just don't
- 1:03:40Speaker 5: like Barry's been in studio.
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: But literally, we're flying sarage over there. I assume, Well.
- 1:03:47Speaker 5: Is that what this is all about? Your hurt that
- 1:03:48Speaker 5: they didn't ask you to see?
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: No no, no no no no no no. But we're this
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: is like a Patriots thing.
- 1:03:54Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, we're gonna have to tell about ten
- 1:03:58Speaker 5: this afternoon. There's gonna be hell to pay for somebody.
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: There's gonna be cheerleaders there. We're or obviously donating raffle
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: prizes and like, oh, we don't need to tell anybody
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: that's traveling.
- 1:04:12Speaker 4: I mean, you'd think they'd want you guys to Okay,
- 1:04:15Speaker 4: big draw, All right, you know who you are.
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: You know who I'm talking about up there?
- 1:04:19Speaker 5: When's that game we're supposed to talk about.
- 1:04:21Speaker 4: Talk talk next week, not this one.
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: Yeah, you need to talk about a game.
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: He will halftime chin wag me and Paul sometimes do
- 1:04:29Speaker 4: we go up there to the season tickets?
- 1:04:30Speaker 15: Oh?
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: Yeah, you have to go halftime for something. Was it
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: the Rams? The Rams game.
- 1:04:38Speaker 5: That's coming up in a few weeks?
- 1:04:39Speaker 17: Then?
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:04:41Speaker 5: Not the Bears basket?
- 1:04:42Speaker 4: Last night we saw Fred address the troops. Where would
- 1:04:45Speaker 4: you rank that between Lincoln's Gettysburg address and Sir William
- 1:04:49Speaker 4: Wallace in Brave Art.
- 1:04:53Speaker 5: No, the Rams game is home. I think it's the Bears.
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe two weeks.
- 1:04:58Speaker 4: One, one game at a time, Palm. I'm trying not
- 1:05:00Speaker 4: to get ahead of myself, you know, I just want
- 1:05:02Speaker 4: to make sure it's on the Titans.
- 1:05:04Speaker 5: Joe my engagements Joe from Ottawa.
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: With May in the protocol and people sounding optimistic he
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: could play Sunday, wouldn't the prudent thing be to rest him?
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: It would be his third career start. If he has
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: to miss or be limited in practice and game planning,
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: wouldn't the veteran Brissett be more stable option.
- 1:05:26Speaker 5: I understand the point it will be his fourth career start,
- 1:05:30Speaker 5: but to me, it's all about if he's healthy enough
- 1:05:36Speaker 5: to play, Like I kind of agree with the email,
- 1:05:39Speaker 5: or if you if you're rushing him back, if he's
- 1:05:41Speaker 5: not getting any practice time, he's not involved in the
- 1:05:43Speaker 5: game plan or whatever, why not just air on the side.
- 1:05:47Speaker 4: Of caution, But especially a defense that's if he's ready
- 1:05:52Speaker 4: to go a lot of disguise. Seems like this would
- 1:05:54Speaker 4: be a week you'd want him to get a full car.
- 1:05:56Speaker 5: So Fred had a great question early in the show,
- 1:06:01Speaker 5: aff a too sniff.
- 1:06:04Speaker 4: Worthy question, just congestion.
- 1:06:06Speaker 5: Who gives the Patriots a better chance to win this game?
- 1:06:08Speaker 5: Brissett or May?
- 1:06:10Speaker 4: Yeah, I think it's a good it's a good one.
- 1:06:11Speaker 4: I mean, you can't I can't help but think that
- 1:06:13Speaker 4: maybe Tennis Tennessee's defense is pretty good, I think. So
- 1:06:16Speaker 4: that's unpredictable. Unpredictable too, right, right, So that's something that
- 1:06:20Speaker 4: I was kind of hinting at. You'd want the young
- 1:06:22Speaker 4: quarterback to really get a full compliment of reps this week,
- 1:06:24Speaker 4: ton stand if there's any method to the madness of
- 1:06:28Speaker 4: their their past rushing schemes and those kind of things.
- 1:06:30Speaker 4: So there's certainly like something appealing about Jacoby Brissette being
- 1:06:33Speaker 4: the veteran presidence who you know, probably has a little
- 1:06:35Speaker 4: bit better idea of how to decipher all those kind
- 1:06:38Speaker 4: of things. But I think I just generally er on
- 1:06:41Speaker 4: with if he's ready to go, put him in, take
- 1:06:44Speaker 4: the lumps you got to take, and continue his development path.
- 1:06:47Speaker 4: That's that's the side of airon. But I still see
- 1:06:50Speaker 4: some of the you know, appeal good.
- 1:06:53Speaker 5: You can make a really strong argument that Prisset would
- 1:06:55Speaker 5: give you.
- 1:06:55Speaker 4: A better chance to win the think so I think
- 1:06:57Speaker 4: you could.
- 1:06:57Speaker 5: But I would argue the other side and say, if
- 1:07:01Speaker 5: May is ready for the reason you just said, I'd
- 1:07:03Speaker 5: play him.
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: Yeah, Anthony and Seattle says, I lost track of how
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: many times you guys literally made me laugh out loud
- 1:07:11Speaker 3: last week. The declaration that this team is no longer
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: soft but hard. That's first out, laughing Paul without missing
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: a beat, responding to where the AC Championship game when
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: we play Kansas City or Buffalo and Fred the underdog
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: cover lock of the week was a thing of beauty.
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: We still have one guy who keeps emailing us saying,
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: I told you that no one likes the pick segment,
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: why are you still doing it? Well, we also told
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: you that everybody else said that they liked it.
- 1:07:39Speaker 5: Like this is literally like one of those ninety ten
- 1:07:41Speaker 5: kind of splits.
- 1:07:42Speaker 3: Right, Like, if everyone really did say it sucked, we
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: would not doing it. Yeah, but that's not the case.
- 1:07:49Speaker 5: And we also kind of the pick segment is kind
- 1:07:54Speaker 5: of ironical. You know. It's like we know that we're
- 1:07:58Speaker 5: not necessarily devoting a lot of like research into our picks,
- 1:08:04Speaker 5: as evidenced by the fact that I often picked different
- 1:08:06Speaker 5: ways from are we Thursday to Sunday? But we try
- 1:08:11Speaker 5: to have some fun with it, you know.
- 1:08:13Speaker 3: It's the rest.
- 1:08:13Speaker 4: It's our chance to talk about the rest of the
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: league a little bit too, which right Tuesday is so decays.
- 1:08:17Speaker 5: And I'm not telling you that I get that I picked.
- 1:08:19Speaker 5: I get the picks wrong on purpose. I don't. I
- 1:08:21Speaker 5: try to win every pick, but I don't necessarily have
- 1:08:24Speaker 5: all the information of all these games, and I'm not
- 1:08:27Speaker 5: quote unquote betting on them.
- 1:08:29Speaker 4: That's some of my favorites. When we're making the picks
- 1:08:31Speaker 4: and then we're like three picks into uh one particular
- 1:08:34Speaker 4: game and then someone like you know the starting quarterbacks
- 1:08:36Speaker 4: out right and crap. But I try to, you know,
- 1:08:41Speaker 4: I try to.
- 1:08:41Speaker 5: Like It's like I picked Chicago in that game because
- 1:08:44Speaker 5: I thought Jaden Daniels wasn't going to play, and then
- 1:08:46Speaker 5: now as it turned out, I probably should have won anyway,
- 1:08:49Speaker 5: but you know I didn't.
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: Thanks Tyreek Stevens, right, let's see the right sin. I
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: don't know where he's from, but he says, big fan
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: of the show. I want to start by saying, Paul,
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: I love you. You're my favorite on the show. But
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: I thought I d md you on Instagram a while
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: back asking for journalism tips and how you got into
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: the industry, and you blocked me.
- 1:09:13Speaker 5: I didn't block Instagram. I didn't. I definitely didn't block you.
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: But the kid, he's just looking for help.
- 1:09:19Speaker 4: Fred no help for anyone.
- 1:09:21Speaker 5: I've never blocked. But I'm telling you I didn't. I'm
- 1:09:24Speaker 5: not even on Instagram to hit it wrong button. That's
- 1:09:27Speaker 5: always possible.
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: You meant to hit like and then you hit block.
- 1:09:30Speaker 5: But I don't recall. I don't recall getting anybody reaching
- 1:09:35Speaker 5: out anybody that I didn't know. Anyway, you don't.
- 1:09:38Speaker 3: Know him blocked.
- 1:09:39Speaker 5: No, I didn't block.
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: Even I don't ask ball for tips. He's going to
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: block you.
- 1:09:45Speaker 5: I promise you I didn't block you. Okay, so blocked,
- 1:09:50Speaker 5: I didn't blocker block. Now there's so someone said something
- 1:09:55Speaker 5: about my family that I muted once. Oh, and someone
- 1:10:04Speaker 5: was using real, like really not like racial kind of language,
- 1:10:07Speaker 5: and I muted.
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: I muted a lot of people, and I don't block.
- 1:10:10Speaker 5: I believe I've muted two people and all the time
- 1:10:12Speaker 5: i've been on Twitter. Yeah, but I don't think I've
- 1:10:14Speaker 5: ever blocked anyone.
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: Yeah. No, I don't block people, but I do mute
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: some people. Yeah, there's people like they say the same
- 1:10:21Speaker 3: things over and over again.
- 1:10:23Speaker 17: You know.
- 1:10:24Speaker 3: It's like I don't need to hear that.
- 1:10:26Speaker 5: You know, And because the other stuff to me is
- 1:10:29Speaker 5: part of it, like the criticism that.
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: You get, I don't care about that.
- 1:10:32Speaker 5: But I think I think in a lot of ways,
- 1:10:35Speaker 5: it's it's healthy. Like no one wants to hear. Oh,
- 1:10:38Speaker 5: I agree with everything he does. Everything he says and
- 1:10:41Speaker 5: does is just wonderful. No, you don't learn anything from that.
- 1:10:44Speaker 5: You learn by getting other people's thoughts and opinions, you know,
- 1:10:48Speaker 5: and even when you disagree with him, and believe me,
- 1:10:51Speaker 5: I disagree with a lot. I'm very opinionated. But I
- 1:10:53Speaker 5: think that's how you learn, That's how you grow, you know,
- 1:10:56Speaker 5: sort of diversity of thought. How's that you know? Unlike
- 1:11:01Speaker 5: different respects, Unlike our current political climate, which on both
- 1:11:05Speaker 5: sides has no diversity of thought.
- 1:11:08Speaker 3: Right, okay one week ago, baby, all right, we're gonna.
- 1:11:15Speaker 4: Joyce Craig is that before you take the break to attendees?
- 1:11:20Speaker 5: Do you ever watch any of those New Hampshire with
- 1:11:22Speaker 5: Kelly and Joyce crag Do you ever noticed every one
- 1:11:25Speaker 5: that's Joyce Craig endorsed? She just like looks.
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: Normal, like a warrior one boil on the side of
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: her family, like like which one.
- 1:11:36Speaker 3: Of the most I like the one on the radio
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: where where they're using uh Kelly Kelly Aodd's voice and
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: obviously they you know, dub it they dub it or
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: not dub it, but they edit it out and it's
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: like he's the right choice for white House. You heard
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: that one. It's like it was probably said in a
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: different These commercials are crazy. All right, we'll take a break.
- 1:11:59Speaker 3: We'll come back with more emails and calls. Evan will
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: be by at some point after practice and we'll get
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: that update. We'll be right back.

- 1:13:35Speaker 20: we'll be.
- 1:13:35Speaker 9: After watching a film.
- 1:13:36Speaker 5: What was it like for you to kind of see
- 1:13:38Speaker 5: what you were able to do as an offense?
- 1:13:40Speaker 9: And how do you prepare this week now? With the
- 1:13:43Speaker 9: uncertainty around around Drake?
- 1:13:45Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean we continue to try to build off
- 1:13:49Speaker 7: of what what How we finished the game last week
- 1:13:51Speaker 7: and you know, and it's it's always you know, prepared
- 1:13:54Speaker 7: like your starter, next man up, and uh, you know
- 1:13:57Speaker 7: that doesn't change this week.
- 1:14:00Speaker 16: Tooby, how do you see Kayshawn Brute growing mature as
- 1:14:03Speaker 16: a player, knowing as.
- 1:14:03Speaker 9: A person since the beginning of the summer, and Tams
- 1:14:06Speaker 9: have knowed how.
- 1:14:06Speaker 7: It's work at his really yeah, I mean, you know,
- 1:14:09Speaker 7: obviously not being a part of the offense first couple
- 1:14:13Speaker 7: of weeks and still sticking sticking to it and and
- 1:14:15Speaker 7: you know, and putting the work in on on the
- 1:14:18Speaker 7: practice field, and and a lot of that stuff starting
- 1:14:20Speaker 7: to come to fruishing for him, you know, as a
- 1:14:22Speaker 7: as a teammate of his. You know, it's it's obviously
- 1:14:25Speaker 7: you really rewarding to see that when it finally starts
- 1:14:28Speaker 7: to go your way in you know what I mean,
- 1:14:29Speaker 7: He's making the most of his opportunity.
- 1:14:31Speaker 9: The last couple of days, How different were they?
- 1:14:35Speaker 3: Just I guess not having mandatory meetings on Monday.
- 1:14:37Speaker 17: Your routine probably doesn't change that much, But was this
- 1:14:41Speaker 17: much a nice change up?
- 1:14:43Speaker 6: Do you?
- 1:14:44Speaker 7: It was nice to be able to sleep in a
- 1:14:45Speaker 7: little bit more, get a little bit more extra sleep,
- 1:14:47Speaker 7: that's for sure. Other than that, the like you said,
- 1:14:49Speaker 7: the routine doesn't change.
- 1:14:50Speaker 9: You feel like the energy, like the different.
- 1:14:53Speaker 7: Energy when yeah, I feel like guys are a little
- 1:14:55Speaker 7: bit more arrested, you know what I mean. It's a
- 1:14:57Speaker 7: lot easier to come in after a win rather than
- 1:14:59Speaker 7: a loss. You know, I mean, I guess the energy
- 1:15:01Speaker 7: in the vibe is obviously ramping up more and more. So, uh,
- 1:15:05Speaker 7: you know, it's something that we got to build on
- 1:15:07Speaker 7: and try to earn the right to have this feeling
- 1:15:09Speaker 7: again next week.
- 1:15:11Speaker 17: Would you goob you talking about self belief after the
- 1:15:14Speaker 17: winns on Sunday. I'm curious in your career what you've
- 1:15:17Speaker 17: learned about yourself how to deal with the ebbs and
- 1:15:19Speaker 17: the flows of an NFL career, whether it's nois in
- 1:15:21Speaker 17: the media, whether it's what happens on the field.
- 1:15:24Speaker 9: How do you keep yourself at the happy meetings?
- 1:15:27Speaker 7: You know, having the right people around me obviously that's one.
- 1:15:30Speaker 7: And then you know, and trusting and believing the things
- 1:15:34Speaker 7: that got me to the point that I am in
- 1:15:35Speaker 7: my career. You know, you don't just look up and
- 1:15:38Speaker 7: being the league for nine years, so you know, I
- 1:15:42Speaker 7: just stick to what I've known that has gotten me
- 1:15:44Speaker 7: this far and what I believe the that will help
- 1:15:47Speaker 7: prepare my career even longer. Uh So, uh, you know,
- 1:15:50Speaker 7: and just believe in myself.
- 1:15:51Speaker 5: A lot of times, you're like a veteran player in
- 1:15:54Speaker 5: any sport, maybe shit for a.
- 1:15:56Speaker 9: Couple of games for whatever reasons, injuries and things like that,
- 1:15:58Speaker 9: and they tend to be able to learn some stuff
- 1:16:01Speaker 9: that maybe that they weren't looking at when they were
- 1:16:03Speaker 9: in that situation.
- 1:16:04Speaker 5: Anything comes to you from that to see from afar
- 1:16:07Speaker 5: as opposed to being in the thick of the battle
- 1:16:10Speaker 5: for a couple of games.
- 1:16:11Speaker 7: Uh No, nothing that that that strikes me.
- 1:16:15Speaker 21: I would say, Hey, there's quite a few young guys
- 1:16:19Speaker 21: who are stepping.
- 1:16:20Speaker 9: Into prominent roles on this team. With your experience in
- 1:16:22Speaker 9: the league, what perspective do you try that, like to that.
- 1:16:26Speaker 7: Happy season, keep growing, you know, and keep keep trying
- 1:16:29Speaker 7: to get better, keep you know, with the old saying
- 1:16:33Speaker 7: that like Staate Green and you know, and stay stay
- 1:16:36Speaker 7: with the ability that you're you're still learning out there,
- 1:16:38Speaker 7: you know obviously, you know, when you when you learn
- 1:16:41Speaker 7: from the good plays, obviously, but also the bad plays
- 1:16:43Speaker 7: and being able to you know, you know, shake off
- 1:16:47Speaker 7: the bad plays and move on to a good play,
- 1:16:49Speaker 7: and and and also learning why those bad plays happen
- 1:16:52Speaker 7: and make make the most of the next opportunity that
- 1:16:54Speaker 7: you get.
- 1:16:55Speaker 9: What are some of your takeaways when your bests.
- 1:16:57Speaker 7: You keep really good defense. Uh, you know, we're talking
- 1:17:02Speaker 7: about it. I think they start, uh they're up there
- 1:17:04Speaker 7: and starting fast on as a team obviously, but definitely
- 1:17:07Speaker 7: as a defense. A lot of good talent, uh you know,
- 1:17:10Speaker 7: I mean, I think they have one of the top
- 1:17:12Speaker 7: fifteen defensive players in the league. And Jeffrey and uh,
- 1:17:15Speaker 7: you know, he pops up off the film. I remember
- 1:17:17Speaker 7: playing him back in my coach days, and you know,
- 1:17:19Speaker 7: he always gave us a lot of fits. And you know,
- 1:17:22Speaker 7: it's no surprise that he's still playing at that at
- 1:17:26Speaker 7: this level. Uh uh, this party's career. But you know
- 1:17:30Speaker 7: a lot of other good guys that are are playing
- 1:17:31Speaker 7: League of Football.
- 1:17:33Speaker 9: What did it mean to get the game? What did
- 1:17:35Speaker 9: it mean to get the game?
- 1:17:36Speaker 10: Ball on?
- 1:17:38Speaker 7: It was cool, you know, obviously not expecting no, I
- 1:17:43Speaker 7: won't say not expecting to play, but obviously it wasn't
- 1:17:46Speaker 7: in my Bengo card before the game. But uh uh,
- 1:17:49Speaker 7: you know, just to go out there and make the
- 1:17:51Speaker 7: most of the opportunity.
- 1:17:53Speaker 9: Men being lay for a nine years.
- 1:17:54Speaker 5: There are a lot of guys who are talented that
- 1:17:56Speaker 5: don't enjoy saying about.
- 1:17:58Speaker 9: You know, I mean, what's what's been the key for
- 1:18:00Speaker 9: you to be in season nine and talent.
- 1:18:04Speaker 3: To those.
- 1:18:06Speaker 7: Keep learning, enjoy learning. Uh, you know, I I love
- 1:18:09Speaker 7: learning about the game of football. I love learning how
- 1:18:11Speaker 7: to be a better, better man, better teammate, better player.
- 1:18:14Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:18:15Speaker 7: And I think that that is, you know, helped me
- 1:18:18Speaker 7: so far. Uh. You know when I think, I like
- 1:18:22Speaker 7: I said, I think those things, I just I think
- 1:18:25Speaker 7: it's just that. I think it's just learned, continuing to learn.
- 1:18:27Speaker 7: I think that's really that's kept me in the league.
- 1:18:30Speaker 16: To Drake, if you're looking at practice a more practice
- 1:18:34Speaker 16: for longer thirty minutes, how does that change your practice
- 1:18:38Speaker 16: approach or regimen or anything to that.
- 1:18:42Speaker 7: Oh, I mean I guess I got to wait thirty
- 1:18:44Speaker 7: minutes to start practicing. That's about it. Other than that, nothing, Kobe.
- 1:18:49Speaker 9: Is it tough for players to kind of roll with
- 1:18:52Speaker 9: the trade that line?
- 1:18:53Speaker 16: I mean understanding what it is, what it means. But
- 1:18:55Speaker 16: is it tough for guys to news players and then.
- 1:19:00Speaker 22: Kind of come back the next week and you know,
- 1:19:03Speaker 22: like all's all's good.
- 1:19:05Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean, it's tough when you know you're around
- 1:19:08Speaker 7: a guy, uh, and then they get traded. But you
- 1:19:11Speaker 7: obviously understand that's part of the I mean, I got
- 1:19:13Speaker 7: traded your first game of the season, so I didn't
- 1:19:15Speaker 7: get a chance to go through the season. But uh,
- 1:19:17Speaker 7: you know, it's definitely it definitely takes a toll. But
- 1:19:19Speaker 7: as as a being a professional, you know, you got
- 1:19:21Speaker 7: to kind of roll with the punches in and certain
- 1:19:24Speaker 7: that as pick up a slack and then in other aspects,
- 1:19:27Speaker 7: you know, you just gotta you know, turn the page
- 1:19:28Speaker 7: and just keep going.
- 1:19:30Speaker 3: You see from Joe Bill, what's it like to come
- 1:19:33Speaker 3: in as as a third quarterback into it?
- 1:19:36Speaker 9: You first year, you're kind of in that same situation.
- 1:19:38Speaker 9: What are you trying to do? And learn quickly?
- 1:19:42Speaker 3: Learn?
- 1:19:42Speaker 7: Literally that's it, you know, That's all I try to
- 1:19:45Speaker 7: do is learning and never know how it turns out.
- 1:19:49Speaker 9: What do you see from him.
- 1:19:50Speaker 7: As far as what.
- 1:19:51Speaker 9: Just his development ways approaching the game?
- 1:19:54Speaker 7: I think he's I think he's learning, getting better, uh,
- 1:19:56Speaker 7: you know, taking advantage of his reps on the practice field,
- 1:19:58Speaker 7: and you know, and I think that's probably about it.
- 1:20:02Speaker 7: Rights the virtual reality had sets in your game prepers now,
- 1:20:06Speaker 7: d yeah, I'll do that. I don't play video games,
- 1:20:10Speaker 7: so I don't not to put a head set on.
- 1:20:12Speaker 4: We're like to take a picture of questions throwing back
- 1:20:15Speaker 4: just seven hundred and fifty nine pass here in America?
- 1:20:19Speaker 9: Do you ever think about like the best rough video?
- 1:20:23Speaker 7: Uh, the best throw? Oh no, that's nine years, just
- 1:20:28Speaker 7: a long time, man, I don't know how many. I
- 1:20:31Speaker 7: think all of them were good throws, right, No, No, we're bad.
- 1:20:35Speaker 9: Because we were talking on.
- 1:20:37Speaker 23: Just a general discussion, like when played the booty just
- 1:20:39Speaker 23: give him the situation.
- 1:20:42Speaker 7: Yeah, that definitely was not one of my best throws.
- 1:20:46Speaker 7: I think it was, like I said, like I said
- 1:20:47Speaker 7: after the game, I think Booty did the hard part
- 1:20:49Speaker 7: on that play and making that catch. So I mean,
- 1:20:52Speaker 7: I mean that the ball died and uh, you know
- 1:20:55Speaker 7: he had to go to the ground. Obviously my legs
- 1:20:57Speaker 7: I can't put my legs into the ball. But bless you.
- 1:21:01Speaker 7: But uh yeah, I think he made the hard part
- 1:21:03Speaker 7: in making the catch.
- 1:21:06Speaker 10: Final question.
- 1:21:07Speaker 16: He's kind of stood out that in some of the
- 1:21:09Speaker 16: ending game situations, made sure that he's looking for the
- 1:21:11Speaker 16: official to give the balls.
- 1:21:13Speaker 3: That's something you guys work on the practice or is
- 1:21:15Speaker 3: that just kind of something you.
- 1:21:16Speaker 12: Know to do.
- 1:21:16Speaker 7: Yeah, that's what we do in practice. Yeah.
- 1:21:21Speaker 17: The whole team kind of rally behind in this last
- 1:21:23Speaker 17: geame I mean they also so highly that you as well.
- 1:21:26Speaker 9: I just what was that, like, Heather support?
- 1:21:27Speaker 3: Oh?
- 1:21:28Speaker 8: It was good.
- 1:21:28Speaker 7: I mean it's good at any time to have their support. Yeah.
- 1:21:32Speaker 7: I mean it was trying to go win the game,
- 1:21:34Speaker 7: so I really that's all it really mattered. I think
- 1:21:36Speaker 7: they wanted to win too, so it was it was
- 1:21:38Speaker 7: a good day.
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: Yeah, and now great moments in.
- 1:21:47Speaker 3: History. You know, when you're looking at the trunk of
- 1:21:50Speaker 3: the stem, you gotta worry about the branches.
- 1:21:53Speaker 5: Did you stack them?
- 1:21:54Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:21:54Speaker 5: Yeah, ran leak. Yeah, I haven't seen that.
- 1:21:58Speaker 4: You're talking about your favorite beasting?
- 1:22:01Speaker 5: Is that?
- 1:22:01Speaker 4: What are you getting into?
- 1:22:02Speaker 5: That?
- 1:22:02Speaker 12: Is that?
- 1:22:03Speaker 16: No?
- 1:22:03Speaker 3: No, I did get I stepped on another hornet's nest.
- 1:22:06Speaker 5: Another. This has happened multiple times.
- 1:22:08Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, I got my Freddy.
- 1:22:10Speaker 5: I worry about you arms.
- 1:22:13Speaker 3: You're just stomping around.
- 1:22:15Speaker 5: I worry about So you got like multiple stinks, like
- 1:22:18Speaker 5: twenty beastings.
- 1:22:20Speaker 3: I got attacked.
- 1:22:22Speaker 5: Yeah, we need like we need you. The season starts.
- 1:22:25Speaker 3: Luckily, I'm not allergic to it, but I am swollen
- 1:22:27Speaker 3: and itchy.
- 1:22:29Speaker 4: So what they get just on the armor.
- 1:22:31Speaker 3: Arm and legs?
- 1:22:33Speaker 5: Yeah, Freddy, can you not step on horn It's a
- 1:22:37Speaker 5: jungle out there.
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: That's another great moment, all right.
- 1:22:45Speaker 3: I just in the middle. I was in the middle
- 1:22:47Speaker 3: of my Buffalo tenders, and I hear the comeback. I
- 1:22:51Speaker 3: had to wrap it up your quick A little sweaty,
- 1:22:53Speaker 3: A little sweaty.
- 1:22:54Speaker 5: Yeah, you are wearing your jacket inside a different jacket
- 1:22:57Speaker 5: than the.
- 1:22:58Speaker 3: Way that you will yesterday.
- 1:22:59Speaker 4: The weird Swedish one bomber a little borro of bombers.
- 1:23:02Speaker 3: This is. But I was in the middle of tender,
- 1:23:04Speaker 3: so I am a little spicy, Yeah, a little spicy.
- 1:23:07Speaker 5: Yeah, they're good. Yeah, the buff tenders are good.
- 1:23:10Speaker 3: Where they from?
- 1:23:12Speaker 5: This place called pizza time.
- 1:23:13Speaker 3: Yeah, it's but they spell the time. They spell the
- 1:23:16Speaker 3: time with a y.
- 1:23:17Speaker 5: I don't think so that's burger time, Julian Edelman.
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: Oh that's burgers just with an eye. Okay, take that
- 1:23:23Speaker 3: place and they deliver.
- 1:23:25Speaker 5: I could go, so you call and then they bring
- 1:23:28Speaker 5: you the foods.
- 1:23:29Speaker 4: Great concept. I love the concept of it, just because
- 1:23:31Speaker 4: you don't have to go there.
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: It's not easy to deliver to Foxboro Stadium.
- 1:23:35Speaker 5: Especially right now all the construction out there.
- 1:23:38Speaker 4: Yeah, things going on.
- 1:23:39Speaker 14: The delivered guy was walking around for ten minutes before
- 1:23:41Speaker 14: he called me to say, hey, I can't get in here.
- 1:23:42Speaker 3: No, I know, So you know, I give him credit
- 1:23:45Speaker 3: for the effort.
- 1:23:46Speaker 4: New place. He'll know next time, I bet.
- 1:23:48Speaker 3: Yeah. They'll learn it eventually, they'll figure it out. If
- 1:23:52Speaker 3: we use them more than once, we'll see. We'll see,
- 1:23:56Speaker 3: all right. So tpx outline is eight five to five
- 1:23:59Speaker 3: pats five hundred podcasts at Patriots dot com as the
- 1:24:02Speaker 3: email address. We're waiting for Evan to return from practice.
- 1:24:07Speaker 5: So you think, what time is it before Evan gets back?
- 1:24:10Speaker 5: And I haven't been on Twitter. So if you guys
- 1:24:12Speaker 5: have been on Twitter and you already know the answer
- 1:24:13Speaker 5: to this going on Twitter, do you think that the
- 1:24:16Speaker 5: media will see Drake May at practice?
- 1:24:19Speaker 3: Yeah, say yes, stretching out.
- 1:24:21Speaker 5: I don't know why I'm going to say no. No,
- 1:24:23Speaker 5: I'm going to say whatever they did with him for
- 1:24:25Speaker 5: thirty minutes was before the media got out there.
- 1:24:27Speaker 4: Oh okay, maybe or after keep him hidden.
- 1:24:32Speaker 5: But I don't That's why I said I don't. I
- 1:24:33Speaker 5: haven't been on Twitter, so I don't know what the answer.
- 1:24:35Speaker 2: To that is.
- 1:24:36Speaker 4: According to Mike Reass, does sound like I don't think
- 1:24:38Speaker 4: it matters. Jalen Polk appear to be getting ready to
- 1:24:40Speaker 4: go back out there, so UH might get him and
- 1:24:43Speaker 4: as well as Alex Austin who has been on ir.
- 1:24:46Speaker 3: SO and usually on Wednesday there in pads.
- 1:24:49Speaker 4: They were there, they they were putting pads on.
- 1:24:50Speaker 3: If Drake's out there, will he have his pads on? No?
- 1:24:54Speaker 5: Not if he's limited to thirty minutes, right right, he
- 1:24:56Speaker 5: won't be allowed to be in pads.
- 1:24:58Speaker 3: Okay, all right, yeah.
- 1:25:01Speaker 4: I don't want I don't want to spoil Evans though.
- 1:25:03Speaker 5: Yeah, oh you already have the information?
- 1:25:05Speaker 4: No, no, I don't yet. But it does sound like
- 1:25:07Speaker 4: a few guys are are I'm going to be returning,
- 1:25:08Speaker 4: so I.
- 1:25:11Speaker 3: Okay, fine. Melvin and Tennessee wants to know where the
- 1:25:16Speaker 3: party is. I mentioned it's in I didn't see that
- 1:25:20Speaker 3: live Oak Music Row from six to nine Live of
- 1:25:25Speaker 3: Oak Music Row. I'm assuming that's on the strip.
- 1:25:28Speaker 5: Well, you may or may not be able to meet
- 1:25:29Speaker 5: Fred Kersh if he's pouting and not not going.
- 1:25:32Speaker 3: He wants to know. Well, we'll Deuce be doing karaoke.
- 1:25:35Speaker 3: You wish Deuce will not be there.
- 1:25:37Speaker 4: But I think if Fred goes to the magic shop,
- 1:25:39Speaker 4: maybe get one of those like smoke things, you know,
- 1:25:42Speaker 4: and then you come into the party and.
- 1:25:44Speaker 5: Boom, smoke.
- 1:25:45Speaker 4: Chef's kiss here unannounced?
- 1:25:50Speaker 3: People, Can you do that?
- 1:25:52Speaker 4: Then he'll do he'll because he's just gonna go around doing.
- 1:25:55Speaker 5: Up up close car business, reading close I want to talk.
- 1:25:59Speaker 4: They call it close up magic, close up magic. You
- 1:26:01Speaker 4: know his hands your coin?
- 1:26:06Speaker 5: Did you lose this?
- 1:26:08Speaker 3: Maybe?
- 1:26:08Speaker 5: Hard Hard Hardy fancies himself an illusion.
- 1:26:12Speaker 3: Well, he was a you know, magician juggler in balloon art.
- 1:26:16Speaker 3: He's very big into.
- 1:26:17Speaker 4: He's very talented, is legitimate.
- 1:26:19Speaker 3: He think he's a clown without makeup, so we could
- 1:26:23Speaker 3: probably put makeup on him too. Uh No. In California,
- 1:26:26Speaker 3: the postgame show was amazing, could not stop laughing and
- 1:26:29Speaker 3: had me wondering if we're gonna have to start studying
- 1:26:32Speaker 3: how different stadiums Shadows are Shadows, Shadows grow so long.
- 1:26:45Speaker 5: Alive. That's why Matt said Curse Comes Alive.
- 1:26:48Speaker 3: I think that was the largest selling debut album of
- 1:26:52Speaker 3: all time at that time.
- 1:26:55Speaker 4: But Paulling, for me, this is a running joke with
- 1:26:56Speaker 4: you guys that it goes back aways with the shadows thing.
- 1:27:00Speaker 5: I don't know where it started, but Fred has brought
- 1:27:04Speaker 5: that one out before and to the point where when
- 1:27:09Speaker 5: when my boys were really really small. That came on
- 1:27:12Speaker 5: the radio once and and I did it like I
- 1:27:14Speaker 5: did Shadows, and that became like a huge thing, like
- 1:27:18Speaker 5: they wanted to know why, and I'm explaining it to them.
- 1:27:20Speaker 5: I'm like, they couldn't have been more than like five
- 1:27:22Speaker 5: and seven at the time. But yeah, that's an old
- 1:27:25Speaker 5: day book.
- 1:27:25Speaker 24: Goody for Freddy and guess who sat down like the.
- 1:27:43Speaker 5: All right, Evan, wait, this is a big one today.
- 1:27:46Speaker 5: There's a lot on this. Good news are bad news?
- 1:27:51Speaker 3: Oh? Do we have to give us the news?
- 1:27:53Speaker 5: Must we do this?
- 1:27:54Speaker 22: Bob Drake may not there not spotted at practice. Neither
- 1:28:01Speaker 22: was Vederian Lowe also not spotted at practice, so some
- 1:28:06Speaker 22: of us speculating maybe that he yeah, something along those lines.
- 1:28:10Speaker 22: At ankle is still not one hundred percent, so they're
- 1:28:12Speaker 22: giving him the day off potentially h Jalen Polk and
- 1:28:16Speaker 22: Leyden Robinson back at practice today and Alex Austen back
- 1:28:21Speaker 22: at practice off of injured reserves.
- 1:28:23Speaker 5: So okay, now, what was Alex Austin dealing with?
- 1:28:26Speaker 3: I'd have to go look that up.
- 1:28:28Speaker 5: I want to say, we'll find out at four o'clock
- 1:28:31Speaker 5: because he'll be listed on the injury report. But okay,
- 1:28:34Speaker 5: so his clock, Yeah, good stuff guys coming.
- 1:28:38Speaker 4: Back for It'd be great to get some low.
- 1:28:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:28:41Speaker 5: My thoughts of on on May was that whatever the
- 1:28:44Speaker 5: thirty minute worth of work was probably not going to
- 1:28:47Speaker 5: be in front of us. Agreed. Ye's kind of what
- 1:28:49Speaker 5: I thought. Yeah, you can.
- 1:28:50Speaker 22: It's not mandated when the thirty minutes can be in
- 1:28:54Speaker 22: the two hours of practice, right, So even like if
- 1:28:57Speaker 22: they wanted him to do thirty minutes of team then
- 1:29:00Speaker 22: that would not be in front of us either, you know,
- 1:29:02Speaker 22: So it all depends on when they want to do that.
- 1:29:04Speaker 3: I don't think I don't think he could do thirty
- 1:29:07Speaker 3: minutes of team practice, right.
- 1:29:10Speaker 5: I think he's still in the like sort of aerobic
- 1:29:13Speaker 5: kind of stage if he can, if he can throw
- 1:29:17Speaker 5: so with his face three yeah, right, the thirty the
- 1:29:20Speaker 5: thirty minute limit is phase three. Yes, throwing is phase four,
- 1:29:24Speaker 5: And Girod said both of those things today, right, So
- 1:29:27Speaker 5: I don't know which one is just.
- 1:29:28Speaker 3: A little confusion, and I'm wondering if the gaggle figured
- 1:29:31Speaker 3: that out. Well.
- 1:29:31Speaker 22: So, I think the biggest confusion is because for a quarterback,
- 1:29:36Speaker 22: there's no contact in practice, so one of the hurdles
- 1:29:40Speaker 22: that a player that isn't a quarterback would need to
- 1:29:42Speaker 22: clear is going through a contact practice, but because he's
- 1:29:46Speaker 22: not going to ever be contacted in practice four and
- 1:29:50Speaker 22: five kind of blur the lines.
- 1:29:52Speaker 3: There a little bit. Then how do you know if
- 1:29:54Speaker 3: he's ever ready?
- 1:29:55Speaker 22: Yeah, contact is like the big hurdle from four to five.
- 1:29:59Speaker 22: And because he's not going to be contact.
- 1:30:01Speaker 3: He's never going to play it again.
- 1:30:02Speaker 5: I could see. I could see like the Jets, right,
- 1:30:05Speaker 5: the Jets would have their quarterback go out and say, well,
- 1:30:07Speaker 5: so we're going to have to hit Aaron Rodgers right,
- 1:30:10Speaker 5: see if he can pass protocol and then he gets hurt?
- 1:30:13Speaker 16: Right?
- 1:30:13Speaker 4: How fun would that be?
- 1:30:14Speaker 12: Though?
- 1:30:14Speaker 4: All right, just give him a little hit, just line.
- 1:30:17Speaker 5: Just you know, just someone hit him from me he contact,
- 1:30:20Speaker 5: you know.
- 1:30:22Speaker 22: Yeah, like football specific exercise is phase three, which to
- 1:30:27Speaker 22: me would be throwing as a quarterback, that as a
- 1:30:29Speaker 22: football specific exercise. So based off of that and based
- 1:30:33Speaker 22: off of the minutes restriction, it really that's where I
- 1:30:35Speaker 22: think it sounds like phase three.
- 1:30:37Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, yeah, okay, So how quickly can you go
- 1:30:41Speaker 3: through the five phases? And does that give him a
- 1:30:43Speaker 3: shot to play?
- 1:30:44Speaker 5: I think he has a shot to play if he
- 1:30:47Speaker 5: gets cleared. I think you have to be twenty four
- 1:30:49Speaker 5: hours symptom free after each of these steps something like that.
- 1:30:53Speaker 3: Well, then I don't think he's got a shot to play.
- 1:30:55Speaker 5: Then well, if he's if he's ready tomorrow to be
- 1:30:58Speaker 5: up a level and then Friday to be up a
- 1:31:00Speaker 5: level from that, then Saturday he could be cleared.
- 1:31:01Speaker 3: So Mike, but then to me that how much preparation
- 1:31:05Speaker 3: is he doing.
- 1:31:06Speaker 5: Well, that's a different question, and didn't want to go there, right,
- 1:31:08Speaker 5: he want.
- 1:31:09Speaker 3: To do it.
- 1:31:09Speaker 22: There's a chance, Like just to compare it, last week,
- 1:31:13Speaker 22: Jalen Polk was out of practice d NP, d m P,
- 1:31:17Speaker 22: d MP, and it wasn't like a debate of oh,
- 1:31:20Speaker 22: well he's gonna do this, he's gonna do that. So
- 1:31:22Speaker 22: I'm just looking at the differences of this situ. It
- 1:31:25Speaker 22: does seem like maybe he's further along than like Jalen
- 1:31:29Speaker 22: Polk was at this time last week. So there's a chance,
- 1:31:32Speaker 22: but I would say the chances are still slim.
- 1:31:34Speaker 5: See, but I think, and I don't know this for sure,
- 1:31:37Speaker 5: we'll find out at four o'clock. My guess is Drake
- 1:31:40Speaker 5: May is gonna be listed as d NP today.
- 1:31:41Speaker 22: Well, Girodd said he was going to be limited.
- 1:31:44Speaker 5: No, no, no, I know what he said. But I
- 1:31:46Speaker 5: think he's going to be listed as d NP possible,
- 1:31:49Speaker 5: which for all we know, is exactly what Jalen Polk
- 1:31:52Speaker 5: did last week. Yeah, but no one asked him about it,
- 1:31:55Speaker 5: you know what I mean, because it's not I mean,
- 1:31:57Speaker 5: no one should. I'm not saying we dropped the ball.
- 1:31:58Speaker 5: I'm not asking him. I mean, it's different for the quarterback, right,
- 1:32:02Speaker 5: But I don't know. I mean, I still think he
- 1:32:05Speaker 5: has a chance to play. Me too.
- 1:32:07Speaker 4: I feel a little bit more optimistic than I did before,
- 1:32:10Speaker 4: but entirely because it's just what Girodd said though. I mean,
- 1:32:12Speaker 4: I guess we'll see with the injury report, but I know,
- 1:32:15Speaker 4: is there a scenario though where he's the backup, like
- 1:32:17Speaker 4: you know, he's he's cleared Saturday, didn't get enough prep?
- 1:32:21Speaker 4: Still start to Kobe Drake's the backup for a week.
- 1:32:24Speaker 4: Maybe that's that's a way to go.
- 1:32:25Speaker 3: To Otherwise in pads today.
- 1:32:28Speaker 5: In pads, Yeah, it's Wednesdays.
- 1:32:30Speaker 3: Okay, and the weather is similar here that I think
- 1:32:35Speaker 3: it's going to be on Sunday, And that's it's a beautiful,
- 1:32:38Speaker 3: beautiful day.
- 1:32:38Speaker 5: It's a beautiful day out.
- 1:32:39Speaker 3: There's like seventy degrees.
- 1:32:41Speaker 22: People are like taking their sweatshirts off, you know, because.
- 1:32:43Speaker 3: It's the guys in the media green. Yeah, people are
- 1:32:46Speaker 3: taking Okay, anybody have sunscreen on?
- 1:32:52Speaker 22: I didn't see any sunscreen come out. No, but you
- 1:32:55Speaker 22: know it was it felt like a like.
- 1:32:59Speaker 3: Was anyone wearing flip flops? No, No, it wouldn't be.
- 1:33:02Speaker 3: I wouldn't like that. No.
- 1:33:03Speaker 22: I just felt like a you know, like a May
- 1:33:06Speaker 22: June day flip flops to work.
- 1:33:09Speaker 5: Oh, I don't know.
- 1:33:10Speaker 3: But why why I don't like it?
- 1:33:12Speaker 5: I don't know why you have to tell everybody else
- 1:33:14Speaker 5: what you.
- 1:33:14Speaker 3: Representing, you know, my outlet, and you show up to
- 1:33:17Speaker 3: work and in flip flops.
- 1:33:19Speaker 5: The dogs are out.
- 1:33:19Speaker 3: I don't like that.
- 1:33:20Speaker 5: So I know that they do in training care.
- 1:33:22Speaker 3: I know they do. And they set up the beach
- 1:33:24Speaker 3: towels and well.
- 1:33:24Speaker 5: I said, couch towel too. But I don't wear flip.
- 1:33:26Speaker 4: Flops, so your butt doesn't get.
- 1:33:28Speaker 3: It's a whole thing.
- 1:33:29Speaker 5: What's that?
- 1:33:30Speaker 4: But you don't want your butt to get wet?
- 1:33:33Speaker 3: The floppy hats on and they just hats.
- 1:33:36Speaker 4: Yeah, it's the whole thing.
- 1:33:38Speaker 3: It's just just a big picnic in the summer.
- 1:33:41Speaker 4: Big party going on Evan down in Nashville that Fred
- 1:33:43Speaker 4: wasn't even aware of.
- 1:33:45Speaker 5: Oh yeah, now did you get NotI.
- 1:33:47Speaker 4: Are you speaking on or anything?
- 1:33:49Speaker 3: No following sorry sending sarge. The cheerleaders contributed even club
- 1:33:59Speaker 3: there and I didn't even know about it.
- 1:34:01Speaker 5: Do we not know about this? I don't know?
- 1:34:03Speaker 4: You think the two biggest stars it's crazy.
- 1:34:06Speaker 5: Well we're here, Mike, come on, I forgot about Pep
- 1:34:09Speaker 5: and the Deuce will be here riding.
- 1:34:11Speaker 3: So any any other news? I you know, have fences
- 1:34:16Speaker 3: been mended among you know you're keep doing this?
- 1:34:20Speaker 5: What not touching?
- 1:34:22Speaker 6: Now?
- 1:34:25Speaker 3: You know? Okay, now everybody, it seems like everyone's getting
- 1:34:30Speaker 3: along right, absolutely good, absolutely, because you know, we don't
- 1:34:35Speaker 3: want any descent among the scribes.
- 1:34:37Speaker 7: Why does he do this?
- 1:34:38Speaker 5: Describe scribe mad?
- 1:34:43Speaker 3: Everything?
- 1:34:43Speaker 5: So look at the look on his face.
- 1:34:46Speaker 3: Everything was even keel.
- 1:34:48Speaker 5: Absolutely okay, best friends.
- 1:34:51Speaker 3: Okay, No, that's good.
- 1:34:52Speaker 4: I think everybodys excited for Chick fil A today, so you.
- 1:34:54Speaker 3: Know, well yeah that puts everybody after the show. Listen,
- 1:34:57Speaker 3: we got a date. Those pr guys, they're no fools.
- 1:35:01Speaker 3: You want to keep the media happy. You feed them,
- 1:35:03Speaker 3: that's right, right, You give them good food, you keep
- 1:35:06Speaker 3: them happy. A lot of these guys that's the only
- 1:35:09Speaker 3: meal they get all week.
- 1:35:12Speaker 5: It doesn't look like I'm gonna I promised to turn
- 1:35:15Speaker 5: over a new leaf. I'm gonna let that one go.
- 1:35:20Speaker 5: I made the realization I'm far too critical of my colleagues.
- 1:35:24Speaker 5: I'm not doing that anymore. Okay, all right, the opposite, Oh,
- 1:35:30Speaker 5: I got a lot of pats on the back.
- 1:35:31Speaker 3: On side, that's sure. I saw that. Paul, He's right,
- 1:35:35Speaker 3: it was fun.
- 1:35:35Speaker 4: Paulse pulling strings. People think Paul's pulling strings. He's not
- 1:35:38Speaker 4: even trying to pull, so that's like me.
- 1:35:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:35:39Speaker 5: There was a little bit of an update to the
- 1:35:41Speaker 5: story yesterday, Fred Oh really yeah. I guess there was
- 1:35:44Speaker 5: a lot of talk about the noise in the press
- 1:35:46Speaker 5: box on Sunday on Drake May's touchdown run, and so
- 1:35:51Speaker 5: Felger and Mas were with Greg Badard and they were
- 1:35:54Speaker 5: talking about it, and I guess Felger had said that
- 1:35:58Speaker 5: he got an email from someone who said it was
- 1:36:00Speaker 5: really loud on Drake May's such so everybody not a
- 1:36:04Speaker 5: stretch at all. Everybody assumed that I was the one
- 1:36:06Speaker 5: that sent the text to Felger to say yeah, yeah,
- 1:36:08Speaker 5: there was open cheering in the press. I did not
- 1:36:11Speaker 5: send the text to Mike. Again, not out of character,
- 1:36:15Speaker 5: not something I wouldn't have done right or wouldn't have
- 1:36:17Speaker 5: thought about, but I did not do it. Mike GARREDI
- 1:36:20Speaker 5: texted me on the side, He goes, I sent the
- 1:36:22Speaker 5: same thing to Greg. I thought for sure was you
- 1:36:25Speaker 5: and I was like, I promise you.
- 1:36:28Speaker 3: We were there and it was loud, and he scored.
- 1:36:31Speaker 3: They were like they were hooting it up.
- 1:36:32Speaker 5: It was loud. But I did not send anything to
- 1:36:35Speaker 5: Mike Felger about that particular thing. So now they're all
- 1:36:40Speaker 5: talking to Evan saying, well, so I'm like, I mean,
- 1:36:46Speaker 5: I can't. I'm not offended at all because it's definitely
- 1:36:49Speaker 5: something in line with like how I think, that's definitely
- 1:36:53Speaker 5: something that I would think. But in this particular case,
- 1:36:55Speaker 5: I didn't do it. Civil war as you like to
- 1:36:58Speaker 5: call it.
- 1:36:59Speaker 3: God, So that that's your full report. That's it.
- 1:37:04Speaker 5: I'm not touching any of this talk about Okay, did
- 1:37:08Speaker 5: I say anything wrong though? Did I give a little
- 1:37:11Speaker 5: recap there? No, great, I left all the names out
- 1:37:14Speaker 5: to protect the innocent relatively innocent.
- 1:37:18Speaker 3: All right, that's the practice, Evan Liz Our practice report
- 1:37:22Speaker 3: brought to you by Mary's Dry Cleaning.
- 1:37:24Speaker 5: I was gonna say, why is it? And it's sponsored.
- 1:37:26Speaker 3: Yeah, we need to get a sponsor for that.
- 1:37:28Speaker 5: Get that pizza.
- 1:37:29Speaker 3: We need a sponsor for the practice report. So whatever the.
- 1:37:33Speaker 5: Car wash is that's going on outside the door.
- 1:37:35Speaker 3: Yeah, they're cleaning up out there, John Wright, sin's sad
- 1:37:39Speaker 3: to hear when you guys go on break. It's my
- 1:37:41Speaker 3: food here and not Paul's anymore. Paul. I know fred
- 1:37:45Speaker 3: doesn't pay you guys enough, So let me know when
- 1:37:47Speaker 3: I can buy you lunch. Did he sniff off of that?
- 1:37:50Speaker 3: I'm gonna sniff well, he wrote it in so right.
- 1:37:52Speaker 3: I'm just reading what he wrote. The poor guy needs
- 1:37:55Speaker 3: a new car. Been throwing side hints at Freddy the
- 1:37:57Speaker 3: past couple of months, probably saving all his lunch money
- 1:38:00Speaker 3: for it.
- 1:38:01Speaker 5: Ain't lying, buddy, Listen, I'm trying to get Toyota on board.
- 1:38:05Speaker 5: Yeah you know so our buddy, Jerry, Oh, Jerry, he
- 1:38:10Speaker 5: asked me, He asked me, were we able to get
- 1:38:13Speaker 5: a car out of this?
- 1:38:15Speaker 4: They got you a car had to be like, have
- 1:38:17Speaker 4: full advertising for Patriots unfiltered with like all our faces
- 1:38:20Speaker 4: on it and you get the car. But you know
- 1:38:22Speaker 4: you got like Fred and Dus and Evan and to
- 1:38:25Speaker 4: me and Alex and we're all you know poses.
- 1:38:27Speaker 5: Dudes can ruin a free tune in live driving around
- 1:38:33Speaker 5: with my face on my.
- 1:38:35Speaker 3: Never see those like you got that right? You ever
- 1:38:38Speaker 3: see those videos on it on you know the various
- 1:38:40Speaker 3: social media where you know, the employee does something and
- 1:38:44Speaker 3: then the owner gets the employer a car, but like
- 1:38:48Speaker 3: she walks out like she doesn't know. It's like a
- 1:38:49Speaker 3: big surprise. And then she'll walk out because she just
- 1:38:52Speaker 3: lost her car for whatever reason. And she walks out
- 1:38:55Speaker 3: and they like they present her. She's crying.
- 1:38:57Speaker 5: Those get me. There's one with the with with a school,
- 1:39:03Speaker 5: a long time school, and the seniors all had a fundraise.
- 1:39:08Speaker 5: They did a GoFundMe and they bought the guy for Paul.
- 1:39:14Speaker 10: Right.
- 1:39:14Speaker 5: It's not a thought that hasn't crossed my mind, trying
- 1:39:16Speaker 5: to get some new wheels.
- 1:39:17Speaker 3: So like Andrea's out there, Andre Tippet and everybody's out there.
- 1:39:22Speaker 4: You can go around with the media group and take donations.
- 1:39:24Speaker 5: No, but I like literally need like that free car.
- 1:39:28Speaker 5: I kid No, I'm just saying I can't even afford
- 1:39:30Speaker 5: to make it a payment.
- 1:39:31Speaker 3: Like I got one hundred and sixty thousand miles on
- 1:39:34Speaker 3: my car.
- 1:39:35Speaker 5: Yeah, I have like one hundred and sixty dollars to
- 1:39:36Speaker 5: my name.
- 1:39:37Speaker 3: So well, there you go. Quick trivia question from Jacket
- 1:39:42Speaker 3: and Auber. Does anyone know what the band was called
- 1:39:45Speaker 3: before Peter Frampton went solo? What his band name was? Jeez,
- 1:39:51Speaker 3: I knew this.
- 1:39:51Speaker 5: I don't. That's before my time, humble pie. Really never
- 1:39:56Speaker 5: heard that in my life.
- 1:39:58Speaker 3: Well before my time.
- 1:39:59Speaker 5: That's before my before my time, so it's way before
- 1:40:02Speaker 5: your time.
- 1:40:03Speaker 3: All right, TPX outline.
- 1:40:05Speaker 5: Let's get back to so what happened? You know, what
- 1:40:07Speaker 5: happened to Frampton?
- 1:40:09Speaker 3: What happened to Frampton? He's still around?
- 1:40:11Speaker 5: No, I know, But why like like that you said
- 1:40:13Speaker 5: it was like the highest key Tan selling, Yeah right.
- 1:40:16Speaker 3: Just the music was that. I think after that they
- 1:40:19Speaker 3: didn't really have any good hits.
- 1:40:21Speaker 5: Yeah, but why why do you think he was able
- 1:40:22Speaker 5: to be so successful with that one album that?
- 1:40:25Speaker 3: Really I don't think he was a real He's a
- 1:40:28Speaker 3: very talented musician and a decent singer, but I'm not
- 1:40:32Speaker 3: a great songwriter, you know, and the Beaches wouldn't write
- 1:40:36Speaker 3: him any songs.
- 1:40:37Speaker 5: The Beg's wrote those songs now, a lot of songs.
- 1:40:40Speaker 9: I know.
- 1:40:41Speaker 5: I've told you about that documentary.
- 1:40:43Speaker 3: I've watched it.
- 1:40:44Speaker 5: It's awesome, But I just I find it interesting that
- 1:40:48Speaker 5: you could be that successful flashing the pants. Yeah, like once, yeah,
- 1:40:52Speaker 5: And I'm not even talking about a one hit wonder
- 1:40:54Speaker 5: that yeah, because I wouldn't say Frampton's a one hit wonder,
- 1:40:58Speaker 5: like it was kind of like this.
- 1:41:00Speaker 3: That he had another album after that that did okay,
- 1:41:02Speaker 3: but nothing like that for us. One.
- 1:41:04Speaker 14: He was in a car accident in nineteen seventy eight
- 1:41:06Speaker 14: that really fed them.
- 1:41:07Speaker 5: Oh is that really nice.
- 1:41:11Speaker 3: Making fun of the make a wish?
- 1:41:12Speaker 5: Kidding? No, that's not. That is totally that explains it. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:41:17Speaker 5: I didn't know that that, but that explained way did
- 1:41:20Speaker 5: he go? What happened? Because it was like seventy six
- 1:41:22Speaker 5: or so, right, Oh yeah, Frampton comes Alive. I was
- 1:41:24Speaker 5: like yeah, and then.
- 1:41:26Speaker 14: Six and then seventy seven was the follow up album.
- 1:41:28Speaker 4: Seventy eight was a car accident.
- 1:41:29Speaker 5: So that's why he never achieved great.
- 1:41:32Speaker 3: I mean, he's still playing small venues.
- 1:41:35Speaker 4: With the key tar, that six string up there, key tar.
- 1:41:41Speaker 3: All right, let's get back to this is where you
- 1:41:44Speaker 3: need hard Hardy would be good at this too.
- 1:41:46Speaker 5: So do you think Hardy would talk about these kinds
- 1:41:48Speaker 5: of that in between telling the songs, play.
- 1:41:50Speaker 3: The music, he talks about it.
- 1:41:52Speaker 5: Right, Oh right, that'd be interesting to listen to Hardy's
- 1:41:55Speaker 5: take on that behind the music. Maybe I'll send him
- 1:41:57Speaker 5: a text.
- 1:41:57Speaker 3: Yeah, we could. Miami should have We should have Hardy
- 1:42:01Speaker 3: as a guest during the day. Do some magic tricks,
- 1:42:03Speaker 3: you know, up closed. We'll have the camera on them,
- 1:42:06Speaker 3: and then we can talk about the music.
- 1:42:09Speaker 5: This guy, he's all right down the middle.
- 1:42:16Speaker 3: All right, let's get to the TPX outline.
- 1:42:18Speaker 5: Dylan's in North Carolina.
- 1:42:20Speaker 3: Hey Dylan, Hey, how good Dylan.
- 1:42:25Speaker 21: I was just wondering, with the tradeline glooming, is there
- 1:42:28Speaker 21: any wide receivers that you think that we could actually get.
- 1:42:32Speaker 21: I thought Deontay Johnson was probably one that would be
- 1:42:34Speaker 21: really nice, but now he's traded. So I was just
- 1:42:37Speaker 21: wanted you on that and I'll take it up here.
- 1:42:39Speaker 3: Okay, thanks.
- 1:42:42Speaker 4: I think the receiver position is tough. I mean, at
- 1:42:45Speaker 4: this point, I'm not really interested in getting more guys
- 1:42:47Speaker 4: kind of like they got and I don't think they're
- 1:42:49Speaker 4: gonna get a guy right now. So I don't.
- 1:42:52Speaker 5: I don't.
- 1:42:52Speaker 4: I haven't heard of it that that seems like it would.
- 1:42:55Speaker 22: Yeah, I feel the same way. I feel like, if anything,
- 1:42:57Speaker 22: they might give away some of their receivers instead of.
- 1:43:01Speaker 3: Early disgruntled guys have been resigned.
- 1:43:04Speaker 5: You know, well most of the disgruntled guys were old,
- 1:43:07Speaker 5: but Deontay Johnson's not. Yeah.
- 1:43:09Speaker 22: I think Deontay Johnson maybe a little tad bit overrated.
- 1:43:13Speaker 5: Oh I don't think he's a great, really good.
- 1:43:15Speaker 22: Really good route runner, But I don't know. Pittsburgh gave
- 1:43:19Speaker 22: up on him. Now Carolina gave up on him.
- 1:43:21Speaker 4: Like yeah, it's the kJ Osbornes of the world.
- 1:43:24Speaker 5: Yeah, it's like, I mean, that is how into what
- 1:43:25Speaker 5: Pittsburgh does. Though they draft their receivers and they let
- 1:43:28Speaker 5: him go.
- 1:43:29Speaker 22: Yeah, but now two teams have in A team in
- 1:43:31Speaker 22: Carolina is desperate for anything on offense and they did
- 1:43:34Speaker 22: to let him walk for a pick. Swap tells me
- 1:43:37Speaker 22: that I don't know what was going on.
- 1:43:39Speaker 3: There a buzzsaw in the White Mountains, right Son, jeez says,
- 1:43:44Speaker 3: I know for a fact that I'm older than all
- 1:43:46Speaker 3: of you. Oh, I've been listening since way back and
- 1:43:49Speaker 3: used to watch the Patriots Football Weekly with Andy Hart,
- 1:43:52Speaker 3: Paul and Fred many years ago when you sat around
- 1:43:54Speaker 3: the desk. I also subscribed to the Hardock shif w Yeah,
- 1:43:59Speaker 3: was that the one that's the one for AT and
- 1:44:02Speaker 3: T probably? Oh my god, ET and T three. Yeah.
- 1:44:06Speaker 3: I found Patriots on Filter a couple of years ago,
- 1:44:08Speaker 3: and I don't miss the broadcast even after moving out
- 1:44:11Speaker 3: of state. Why so, why am I doing it like
- 1:44:13Speaker 3: a country thing? Like I don't? I watched Paul on
- 1:44:17Speaker 3: his show, and he never interrupts anyone. In fact, recently
- 1:44:23Speaker 3: I heard him say sorry, Mike, I didn't mean to
- 1:44:24Speaker 3: interrupt you.
- 1:44:25Speaker 4: On PU who.
- 1:44:26Speaker 3: Interrupts everyone and he doesn't listen to anyone. Yeah, he
- 1:44:29Speaker 3: always talks over anyone who's making a point. Mike Usseau
- 1:44:32Speaker 3: has got to be a saint. And we all know
- 1:44:35Speaker 3: that Evan is too nice of a guy to say
- 1:44:36Speaker 3: to Paul let me finish. Yeah, although I do love
- 1:44:39Speaker 3: it when he says it to Barthy on Catch twenty two, which,
- 1:44:42Speaker 3: to my uh, to be honest, is my favorite podcast.
- 1:44:44Speaker 5: Oh thank you, Fred. Criticism's fair.
- 1:44:47Speaker 3: Fred keep arguing with Paul don't back down. It's my
- 1:44:50Speaker 3: favorite part of the show. And Paul, there are other
- 1:44:53Speaker 3: words in the English Dictionary than like, which you overuse
- 1:44:55Speaker 3: to a fall like a schoolgirl. I also wish I
- 1:44:59Speaker 3: had a nickel for every time Paul said I agree
- 1:45:01Speaker 3: with Evan Wow, Wow.
- 1:45:03Speaker 5: I think you'd be destitute.
- 1:45:05Speaker 4: But anyways, from the White busam.
- 1:45:11Speaker 5: Fair fair criticisms. Though I do interrupt you guys too much.
- 1:45:14Speaker 23: You do.
- 1:45:15Speaker 5: No, I'm just kidding. I don't hear you. I don't
- 1:45:18Speaker 5: hear you say that. Yeah, I'm sure I do, but
- 1:45:20Speaker 5: like you don't like God, He's no. I I talk
- 1:45:25Speaker 5: a lot, A.
- 1:45:29Speaker 3: Lot of people would. Well.
- 1:45:31Speaker 22: Sometimes I'm like, I'm giving a take, and then Alice
- 1:45:34Speaker 22: will interject in the middle of the take, and I'm
- 1:45:36Speaker 22: just like, that's.
- 1:45:37Speaker 3: What you're doing.
- 1:45:38Speaker 5: This is what I need you to do. He gives
- 1:45:39Speaker 5: my hand like.
- 1:45:43Speaker 4: Spraise him with the spray bottle.
- 1:45:45Speaker 3: Me and and me. No, I have with my wife.
- 1:45:49Speaker 3: I have little things I do when like I will,
- 1:45:52Speaker 3: it's time to be quiet.
- 1:45:59Speaker 5: I'd be dead. Time for me to be dead. I
- 1:46:03Speaker 5: get that look, you know, that look you know you
- 1:46:05Speaker 5: don't you know, and just gives you that look. I
- 1:46:07Speaker 5: would get the look from Beth if.
- 1:46:09Speaker 4: I ever tried something like that the step brother, just
- 1:46:11Speaker 4: shut your mouth, just shut your mouth, Shut your mouth.
- 1:46:13Speaker 5: I don't even joke about it. I wouldn't even talk.
- 1:46:17Speaker 3: So when when I remember my grandmother when she would
- 1:46:20Speaker 3: have like a baby in her arms and the baby
- 1:46:22Speaker 3: would cry, and she go, I do that to.
- 1:46:29Speaker 5: Talk about saints.
- 1:46:30Speaker 3: Oh yeah, oh boy? Love that, Jordan writes in I
- 1:46:33Speaker 3: love the show and find these podcasts to be therapeutic
- 1:46:36Speaker 3: and informative. I've been listening to Paul and Fred for
- 1:46:39Speaker 3: over ten years, and I've already shown love over the
- 1:46:42Speaker 3: years to them. However, I'd like to give a special
- 1:46:45Speaker 3: shout out to Evan and Mike, who are newer additions
- 1:46:48Speaker 3: to the show. Both do an excellent job providing insight
- 1:46:51Speaker 3: and clearly do their homework, looking at the all twenty
- 1:46:53Speaker 3: two before joining the discussion. That is in no way
- 1:46:56Speaker 3: a dig at Paul and Fred, who have become two
- 1:46:58Speaker 3: of my favorite patriots over the years. I'm not saying
- 1:47:01Speaker 3: they don't do their homework, because they do it in
- 1:47:03Speaker 3: different ways. I know Paul will likely scoff at the
- 1:47:07Speaker 3: notion of calling him a patriot, but at this point
- 1:47:09Speaker 3: he and Fred have earned the titles of Patriots. Oh wow,
- 1:47:13Speaker 3: I will scoff at that if the show had positions
- 1:47:16Speaker 3: like the team age and reality aside, this is all
- 1:47:19Speaker 3: a delusional proposal. What positions would you all be?
- 1:47:23Speaker 5: Oh god, oh, I thought he was going to give
- 1:47:24Speaker 5: us position.
- 1:47:25Speaker 3: Definitely be the quarterback. You would be the quarterback.
- 1:47:28Speaker 5: I'm just kidding.
- 1:47:29Speaker 3: You'd be the tight pan offensive coordinator.
- 1:47:31Speaker 5: Well, I'm yeah, job is right, that's my dream.
- 1:47:35Speaker 3: Fred would be the deuce, would be the non blocking
- 1:47:38Speaker 3: tight end. Like, yeah, the mic is sicky.
- 1:47:42Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm just about the glory, not that. Not the
- 1:47:44Speaker 4: hard right, You're not You're not going to dig out
- 1:47:46Speaker 4: the nine tex I'm not digging out nothing.
- 1:47:47Speaker 5: No, you're not running a lot of for the love
- 1:47:51Speaker 5: of the game routes.
- 1:47:51Speaker 3: Yeah, the free safety.
- 1:47:55Speaker 4: Really athletic positions, delivering hits.
- 1:48:00Speaker 5: Devin mccordy looks.
- 1:48:02Speaker 4: I do think safety is the best position, though, Like,
- 1:48:04Speaker 4: if if I had to choose one position I could play.
- 1:48:07Speaker 3: See, I was going to give you backup, quarterback, quarterback,
- 1:48:11Speaker 3: gap on backwards.
- 1:48:12Speaker 5: You know, just like these left I do have a
- 1:48:14Speaker 5: lot of experience, like Dennis Quaiden backup given someday backup quarterback. Yeah, okay, yeah,
- 1:48:23Speaker 5: and used to make fun of me because I always
- 1:48:25Speaker 5: play I always would play free safety and bubble football
- 1:48:28Speaker 5: like I would. I would never cover anybody. I would
- 1:48:30Speaker 5: just say I'm the best and try to pick and
- 1:48:34Speaker 5: hits no hits. It's bubble football except for.
- 1:48:39Speaker 3: Let's see, uh who was this Kyle short over under
- 1:48:44Speaker 3: seems like we're off the tracks a little bit today,
- 1:48:46Speaker 3: but anyway, that's that's okay. Well, before we do this
- 1:48:50Speaker 3: question for Evan that we were posing before you guys,
- 1:48:55Speaker 3: who gives the Patriots a better chance to win this game?
- 1:48:58Speaker 3: Drake may or Jacoby Brissett? Did you have? I think
- 1:49:03Speaker 3: you answered that nothing. Who gives who gives the team
- 1:49:09Speaker 3: the better chance to win this game? This particular game.
- 1:49:13Speaker 22: This particular game is that's a hard question because I
- 1:49:17Speaker 22: think Drake gives you a better chance to move the
- 1:49:19Speaker 22: ball always. But it's a tough defense, and you could
- 1:49:23Speaker 22: lead the turnovers against the defense like this perset.
- 1:49:27Speaker 5: I worry about them moving the ball.
- 1:49:31Speaker 3: This game.
- 1:49:32Speaker 5: I might, I might lean Brissette slightly.
- 1:49:37Speaker 3: Yeah, my answer is I don't care.
- 1:49:38Speaker 5: Answered the same exact way.
- 1:49:40Speaker 3: Yea, all it's fun.
- 1:49:41Speaker 5: They all have the same think about.
- 1:49:43Speaker 22: It, because I just wonder if managing this game because
- 1:49:46Speaker 22: they're not going to like, you don't think Titans are
- 1:49:48Speaker 22: going to score very much either.
- 1:49:49Speaker 5: Right, so you don't turn the ball over, you know,
- 1:49:52Speaker 5: and you know, plus the you have to take everything
- 1:49:56Speaker 5: into consideration. If Drake May plays, he's probably not going
- 1:49:58Speaker 5: to have much practice time, right right, you know, So
- 1:50:01Speaker 5: that's part of it.
- 1:50:02Speaker 22: I always lean towards the better player, which I think
- 1:50:05Speaker 22: is Drake May, no doubt. So I like it hurts
- 1:50:08Speaker 22: me to say that, but I hear the other side
- 1:50:10Speaker 22: of the argument.
- 1:50:10Speaker 3: On this one.
- 1:50:11Speaker 5: Yeah, we all want Drake May to play, but there's
- 1:50:14Speaker 5: an argument to be made that Perset this particular game,
- 1:50:17Speaker 5: because of everything, gives you a better t.
- 1:50:19Speaker 22: They could win this game thirteen to ten. Yeah, with
- 1:50:22Speaker 22: Persett just managing the game and putting together one touchdown
- 1:50:25Speaker 22: drive and not turning the ball over.
- 1:50:27Speaker 5: Yeah, you know.
- 1:50:29Speaker 3: And along those lines, the Tennessee defense you mentioned it, Yeah,
- 1:50:34Speaker 3: is it for real?
- 1:50:35Speaker 22: You know, they do a lot of different things. They
- 1:50:40Speaker 22: spin the dial. This is like a true not cliche
- 1:50:43Speaker 22: spin the dial defense, but this is a true spin
- 1:50:45Speaker 22: the dial defense. I think that their scheme is really
- 1:50:48Speaker 22: difficult to figure out. And they've played a couple of
- 1:50:51Speaker 22: younger quarterbacks that they played Caleb Williams in his very
- 1:50:54Speaker 22: first game in the NFL and kind of he didn't
- 1:50:58Speaker 22: really do much in that game.
- 1:50:59Speaker 5: So I think they are for real in the.
- 1:51:01Speaker 22: Aspect of I like what they're doing schematically, and they
- 1:51:05Speaker 22: have you know, Jeffrey Simmons is still a legit player
- 1:51:08Speaker 22: in their front. But my guess is is if they
- 1:51:11Speaker 22: went up against you know, the top teams in the NFL,
- 1:51:14Speaker 22: they probably would give up points. But against a team
- 1:51:16Speaker 22: like the Patriots, that, yeah, I think they can give
- 1:51:18Speaker 22: you some problems. They it's really hard to identify what
- 1:51:21Speaker 22: they're in coverage wise, because they spin the dial a lot,
- 1:51:25Speaker 22: and they run a bunch of different types of coordinator.
- 1:51:28Speaker 22: Denard Wilson who was with Baltimore last year, so he's
- 1:51:32Speaker 22: got some Baltimore flavor. You know, it's a lot of
- 1:51:34Speaker 22: guys up at the line of scrimmage. You don't know
- 1:51:35Speaker 22: who's coming, who's dropping, who's blitzing. They spin the dial
- 1:51:39Speaker 22: with the safeties a lot, so you're watching their film
- 1:51:42Speaker 22: but even you know, for me, I'm like, what is this,
- 1:51:45Speaker 22: Like what coverage.
- 1:51:46Speaker 5: Are they in on this play?
- 1:51:47Speaker 22: Like, you know, you don't really can't really tell all
- 1:51:50Speaker 22: the time what they're doing back there.
- 1:51:52Speaker 3: Do they have a ten How are they on big plays?
- 1:51:54Speaker 3: Do they give up big plays because of the do
- 1:51:57Speaker 3: they take? Are they a risky defense?
- 1:51:59Speaker 22: I would say, yeah, there, that's probably how I would
- 1:52:02Speaker 22: describe them as a defense that is pretty boom or bust.
- 1:52:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:52:06Speaker 22: I mean last week they had a lot of short
- 1:52:08Speaker 22: fields Detroit did, and that contributed to them scoring fifty
- 1:52:11Speaker 22: two points. But when you watch the film, it's, yeah,
- 1:52:14Speaker 22: they have some really good drives and then they give
- 1:52:16Speaker 22: up an eighty yard touchdown to Jamiir Gibbs.
- 1:52:18Speaker 3: You know.
- 1:52:18Speaker 22: So there's a lot of that going on with their defense.
- 1:52:21Speaker 22: But schematically they're pretty exotic. They're pretty advanced what they do.
- 1:52:26Speaker 3: Okay, so it'll be interesting. Yeah, that's what I was like,
- 1:52:30Speaker 3: I want to win the game, but to me, I
- 1:52:34Speaker 3: want Drake May to see as many different defenses as
- 1:52:36Speaker 3: possible this season.
- 1:52:37Speaker 22: Yeah, that was kind of the take that we were
- 1:52:39Speaker 22: talking about off the air, is just you know, to
- 1:52:41Speaker 22: have Drake May playing a game like this. I think
- 1:52:43Speaker 22: the three defenses that he's seen so far are kind
- 1:52:46Speaker 22: of do what you do right type of defenses, and
- 1:52:49Speaker 22: they kind of play the same amount of different coverages
- 1:52:51Speaker 22: like you know Jaguars big Cover two team. You know,
- 1:52:55Speaker 22: Jets and Texans basically have the same system that they're
- 1:52:59Speaker 22: running defensively from the forty nine ers, So those teams
- 1:53:03Speaker 22: are kind of just boiler played defenses, whereas this one
- 1:53:06Speaker 22: would have truly spun the dial on him, and it
- 1:53:09Speaker 22: would have been interesting to see how he reacted to
- 1:53:11Speaker 22: that mentally.
- 1:53:11Speaker 3: Okay, all right, now let's get back to the TPX outline.
- 1:53:16Speaker 3: Todd's in North Carolina. What's up Todd?
- 1:53:19Speaker 23: Hey, guys for do for the hanging up on me there?
- 1:53:22Speaker 3: Well, I meant to put you on hold because I
- 1:53:24Speaker 3: wasn't ready you take you want to long hang up
- 1:53:26Speaker 3: on you? Sorry?
- 1:53:27Speaker 23: So I thought your early conversation, especially about looking at
- 1:53:30Speaker 23: the guy in the Ravens who played with Drake May,
- 1:53:32Speaker 23: was kind of interesting to think about the future and projecting.
- 1:53:35Speaker 23: And the guy said, like, who in in ten years do.
- 1:53:37Speaker 11: You want to see on the team?
- 1:53:38Speaker 6: Do you want to see Drake May there?
- 1:53:39Speaker 23: Do you still want to see Mao coaching? And all
- 1:53:41Speaker 23: this made me think is right, now I can see
- 1:53:44Speaker 23: two areas where in the next three or four years
- 1:53:46Speaker 23: or maybe even next year might start writing hearing his
- 1:53:49Speaker 23: head is tight end and running back? Do we have
- 1:53:52Speaker 23: like a long term backup solution there? Did we draft
- 1:53:56Speaker 23: anybody that I met in either position that you know
- 1:53:59Speaker 23: we can look at and say, hey, this is a
- 1:54:00Speaker 23: long term proposition for the team and they'll grow with
- 1:54:04Speaker 23: may Or could we maybe pick somebody up at the
- 1:54:06Speaker 23: trade deadline who might be.
- 1:54:08Speaker 3: Able to help with that at running back and tight end?
- 1:54:11Speaker 3: Its Yeah, that's kind of what I was he thanks,
- 1:54:14Speaker 3: all right, thanks Tom?
- 1:54:16Speaker 5: Why are you so disrespectful today?
- 1:54:18Speaker 3: No, but of all the positions, like like I like Hunter,
- 1:54:21Speaker 3: Henry's should be here for a few more years, right,
- 1:54:24Speaker 3: running back act like change?
- 1:54:26Speaker 5: Well, Stevenson just signed anywhere.
- 1:54:30Speaker 3: I'm not worried about those two positions.
- 1:54:32Speaker 5: Unless they trade him.
- 1:54:33Speaker 4: The only guys are Jean bell Is the third tight end.
- 1:54:36Speaker 4: Mayo talked about him a little bit today. Was Henry Henry? Sorry,
- 1:54:42Speaker 4: you know he's getting a little bit of action now,
- 1:54:44Speaker 4: or I mean we like that guy, Trol Jennings. He
- 1:54:47Speaker 4: I mean, he hasn't done anything. It's hard to get
- 1:54:49Speaker 4: mad about him, but.
- 1:54:50Speaker 5: I thought he you know showed up a little bit
- 1:54:52Speaker 5: in in campus, a.
- 1:54:53Speaker 3: Little bit more of a scat back, isn't he Well,
- 1:54:55Speaker 3: he runs with some good power to tackle break, but
- 1:54:59Speaker 3: he can catch passes right that.
- 1:55:01Speaker 5: I have no idea.
- 1:55:03Speaker 4: This summer he did a little bit. I mean in practice,
- 1:55:05Speaker 4: I just thought he looked smooth catching them. But I
- 1:55:06Speaker 4: don't know if he's actually like third down back. But
- 1:55:10Speaker 4: to me, like just looking at him, knowing he was
- 1:55:11Speaker 4: a tackle breaker, I thought he had pretty good hands.
- 1:55:14Speaker 4: That that stood out to me this summer.
- 1:55:15Speaker 5: I mean, I think you're going to have for the
- 1:55:19Speaker 5: for the short term. You have Henry and Stevenson are
- 1:55:22Speaker 5: going to be in the lead roles. So now you're
- 1:55:24Speaker 5: just looking and I know it's I was looking for backups.
- 1:55:26Speaker 5: You know Todd's wondering, But I don't necessarily like that's
- 1:55:29Speaker 5: well down the list of things that you're going to
- 1:55:31Speaker 5: be looking at.
- 1:55:31Speaker 3: Are we mildly pleased with Hooper? I mean he's done.
- 1:55:35Speaker 4: I think he's fine. I mean I think the one
- 1:55:37Speaker 4: year deal he's going.
- 1:55:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:55:38Speaker 4: I think that the thing for Todd's question is can
- 1:55:40Speaker 4: jahem Bell rise up to that second tight end role
- 1:55:42Speaker 4: next year? And then you know, then you've got a
- 1:55:44Speaker 4: guy in his second year and four year rookie deal
- 1:55:46Speaker 4: like that, that's ideals that he's gonna be able to
- 1:55:48Speaker 4: step up into me.
- 1:55:49Speaker 5: I just personally haven't seen anything to indicate that. I mean,
- 1:55:52Speaker 5: I think he played one play the other day. The
- 1:55:54Speaker 5: two plays he's been in, you know, in an on
- 1:55:58Speaker 5: and off sort of the inactive list. I mean, I'm
- 1:56:01Speaker 5: intrigued just like everybody else with the athleticism, but I
- 1:56:04Speaker 5: don't know if he has I don't know what I mean,
- 1:56:08Speaker 5: realistic you take guys like sixth seventh round. Yeah, I
- 1:56:12Speaker 5: just don't know.
- 1:56:12Speaker 22: Maybe we're gonna be like you hit one a traditional
- 1:56:15Speaker 22: in line tight end that's probably never gonna be jaheen
- 1:56:18Speaker 22: Bell's game. But obviously h back full back.
- 1:56:24Speaker 5: To play he played the other day. He did that.
- 1:56:26Speaker 22: Yeah, Like that's the type of stuff that I see
- 1:56:28Speaker 22: him doing, playing off the line and moving around the
- 1:56:31Speaker 22: backfield and things like that. But you know, running back
- 1:56:34Speaker 22: and tight end. I just would say that the two
- 1:56:36Speaker 22: guys in North Carolina right now that play with Drake
- 1:56:39Speaker 22: may or really interesting prospects coming up. Marion Hampton's the
- 1:56:42Speaker 22: running back and Bryson Nesbit is their tight end. Both
- 1:56:46Speaker 22: players played well with Drake there last year and we're
- 1:56:50Speaker 22: at his pro day, caught passes from him at the
- 1:56:54Speaker 22: pro day to you know, kind of get a head
- 1:56:55Speaker 22: start on the draft round.
- 1:56:57Speaker 3: Where were they?
- 1:56:58Speaker 22: So Hampton is probably going to be a Day two guy,
- 1:57:00Speaker 22: you know, but like for running back, like drafted pretty high,
- 1:57:03Speaker 22: so that might be too high for the Patriots. Nesbit
- 1:57:05Speaker 22: was originally projected to be like a first round pick,
- 1:57:08Speaker 22: but he's tailor dropped off a little bit this year
- 1:57:11Speaker 22: because they don't have a quarterback. So he's still I
- 1:57:14Speaker 22: would say probably like a top one hundred, top one
- 1:57:16Speaker 22: fifty guy too.
- 1:57:17Speaker 3: Might make my envelope, all right. Alfrom Wisconsin writes in
- 1:57:21Speaker 3: saying that Brissette gives a better chance to win is
- 1:57:23Speaker 3: absolutely insane. I wholeheartedly believe that May didn't start versus
- 1:57:28Speaker 3: Dolphins because they thought they could win for similar reasons.
- 1:57:31Speaker 3: The fact is that May is the better player. We're
- 1:57:34Speaker 3: not disagreeing with that, and the reason that the production
- 1:57:37Speaker 3: is similar is only because the team has completely lost
- 1:57:39Speaker 3: all ability to run the ball.
- 1:57:43Speaker 5: I would agree that May is a better player.
- 1:57:44Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't think it's insane, though, I think going
- 1:57:47Speaker 4: against one of the worst teams in the NFL. That
- 1:57:50Speaker 4: a game where you just want to maybe try to
- 1:57:52Speaker 4: play safe and you know, not have boom or busts,
- 1:57:54Speaker 4: like if they're going up a team better than them.
- 1:57:56Speaker 4: It's mayle.
- 1:57:57Speaker 5: I'm also taken into consideration how little prep time it
- 1:58:00Speaker 5: may potentially is going to have for this game. That's
- 1:58:03Speaker 5: part of my part of it.
- 1:58:05Speaker 3: The Yankees have issued a statement. Last night, two fans
- 1:58:09Speaker 3: were ejected from Yankee Stadium for egregious and unacceptable physical
- 1:58:13Speaker 3: contact with Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts. The safety and security
- 1:58:17Speaker 3: of players, fans, and stadium staff is the foundational element
- 1:58:20Speaker 3: of every event held at Yankee Stadium, and it cannot
- 1:58:23Speaker 3: be compromised. Tonight marks the final home game of the year,
- 1:58:27Speaker 3: and we want every ounce of our fans passion on display.
- 1:58:30Speaker 3: Yankee Stadium is known for its energy and intensity. However,
- 1:58:34Speaker 3: the exuberance of supporting one's team can never cross the
- 1:58:37Speaker 3: line into intentionally putting players at physical risk. The Yankees
- 1:58:41Speaker 3: and Major League Baseball maintain a zero tolerance policy toward
- 1:58:45Speaker 3: the type of behavior displayed last night. These fans will
- 1:58:48Speaker 3: not be permitted to attend tonight's game in any capacity.
- 1:58:53Speaker 3: So there you go finger wags. Well that should have
- 1:58:58Speaker 3: their finger wagged at them.
- 1:58:59Speaker 5: Go Dodgers.
- 1:59:01Speaker 3: Well yeah, but you can't. You can't encourage that type
- 1:59:04Speaker 3: of behavior.
- 1:59:04Speaker 5: No, no, I'm not saying that was bad.
- 1:59:06Speaker 3: And what are you talking about.
- 1:59:07Speaker 5: Just go Dodgers, that's all I'm saying.
- 1:59:10Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, I hate them both.
- 1:59:13Speaker 22: Yeah, I don't really understand that, Like, why do you
- 1:59:16Speaker 22: Why do people around here hate the Dodgers's.
- 1:59:18Speaker 5: I've always hated la they hate It's probably from the Lakers.
- 1:59:22Speaker 5: But in the in the late seventies, there was always
- 1:59:24Speaker 5: the Dodgers and the Yankees in the World Series. I
- 1:59:26Speaker 5: hated them both.
- 1:59:27Speaker 3: Yeah. See, I don't mind the Dodgers. I have always
- 1:59:29Speaker 3: hated no venom toward the Dodgers.
- 1:59:31Speaker 5: I do not as much as toward the Yankees. But
- 1:59:34Speaker 5: I mean I can't. I can't take that back. Sometimes
- 1:59:37Speaker 5: I hate for no reason, Rock Rocks.
- 1:59:40Speaker 22: Dodge Dodgers fans living out there. The Red Sox would
- 1:59:43Speaker 22: take over that park when the Red Sox played out there.
- 1:59:46Speaker 5: Part of it.
- 1:59:50Speaker 3: All Right, that's gonna be it for this show. We'll
