- 0:00Exciting times in the precious metals sector.
- 0:03Today. We're joined by Dan Wilton.
- 0:05He's the CEO of First Mining Gold, and Paul Morris.
- 0:10He's their Director of Investor Relations.
- 0:13We're going to talk about what's going on in the overall precious
- 0:15metals market. We'll talk about the precious
- 0:18metals mining sector. And of course, we'll get brought
- 0:21up to speed with some exciting developments at First Mining
- 0:25Gold. Dan and Paul, welcome to Ron's
- 0:27Basement. Ron, it's always a pleasure to
- 0:33be back in the basement. Absolutely nice to see you.
- 0:37Especially when we have $3800 gold, right, Because we've been
- 0:41in the basement. Yeah, yeah, we've been in the
- 0:43basement when gold was less than $2000.
- 0:46So it's. Just imagine how blindfold Bear
- 0:48is feeling these days. You know, like he's just, he's,
- 0:52he's an ancient relic at this point, you know, $2500 gold.
- 0:56Oh my goodness. Yeah, yeah, he's, he's a he's a
- 0:59part of the gold and silver Internet lore.
- 1:02So, so when when you when you think about what's happened and
- 1:06what's happening now and you look at what's kind of
- 1:09developing within the sector. Any thoughts on where we might
- 1:14be in this rally? Are we early stages, mid stages?
- 1:17Last later stages? I mean, I'll, I'll go, Paul
- 1:23always has insightful views on this from his many years as a as
- 1:28a financial advisor. But I will tell you someone
- 1:31who's been around several cycles, this to me, Ron, feels
- 1:38like we're maybe at the end of the second inning, like maybe
- 1:43going into the third inning here.
- 1:47There's I think the gold price is moving and it's moving on
- 1:54fundamentals. It's moving on sort of supply
- 1:58and demand. I think you have this broader
- 2:02secular move away from, you know, away from the US dollar,
- 2:08away from sort of the questioning of the US dollar's
- 2:12long term stability particular well, it's not just U.S. dollar,
- 2:16it's all Fiat currencies really and the and sort of questions
- 2:20around the long term stability. And that's really just starting,
- 2:25right. You know, I think the fact that
- 2:28you continue to see central bank buying as a major, major source,
- 2:34we're just getting to the point now where the broader populace
- 2:38is starting to look at buying gold and silver.
- 2:41And I think we're still in very early days on the equity.
- 2:45So what's interesting is that those that are producing gold
- 2:48have had big runs up in share price.
- 2:51You know, there's a lot of the gold producers that are up five
- 2:54and 6X over the last two or three years, the best performing
- 2:58sub index certainly of the Canadian markets, but yet it's
- 3:02still dramatically under help like under held by indices.
- 3:08It's starting to creep up in index participation, golds under
- 3:11held by most investors. And you know there are still
- 3:16these big pockets of value and we'll get to that on 1st mining.
- 3:19But, you know, we've seen a nice move off a bottom, but you know,
- 3:24we're still trading, you know, multiples and multiples below
- 3:30where you generally would see advanced developers trade later
- 3:34in a cycle. So yeah, I, I think this is
- 3:36still pretty much the early days.
- 3:39And we, you know, we've talked about it a lot before, Ron.
- 3:42You know, if you think about this cycle as you know, the,
- 3:46the, the peak to through, you look at the last cycle in the
- 3:48gold price peak to through, you know, call it $250 to $1900, you
- 4:00know, A6 or 7X and you consider the through of this cycle in
- 4:0420/15/2016 as $1100. Like, I think there's still a
- 4:11very clear signal that, you know, we're, we're a long way
- 4:15from the top here. Yeah, yeah, a lot of a lot of
- 4:19runway ahead for further improvement.
- 4:21Definitely, definitely. Paul, what about your
- 4:23perspective? You know, look, I, I was a
- 4:28stockbroker, financial advisor, whatever you want to call me
- 4:30for, for many years. And you know, I did very well on
- 4:35on some precious metal stocks. And you know, the one thing this
- 4:39sector, the precious metal sector has been in the doldrums
- 4:44from around 2012, other than a couple of short lived blips, I
- 4:49think one in 16 and one in 2021. And you know, investors often
- 4:56ask me why, you know, why is, why is the stock not moving?
- 5:00And oh, why mining stocks not moving?
- 5:04And quite honestly, I think it was because people were more
- 5:07interested in other, other areas, companies like Apple and
- 5:11Microsoft and NVIDIA and Intel and, and can't forget, you know,
- 5:15cryptos and, and you know, they said, well, when do you think
- 5:21the sector's going to turn? And how important is that?
- 5:23And I've Dan, Dan has heard me ad nauseam saying I think one of
- 5:27the most important catalysts, you know, for, for our stock and
- 5:32stocks of some of our peers is the sector coming back into
- 5:36favour. And for that, we need, while
- 5:39higher gold prices and we've seen successive record highs in
- 5:44gold doesn't, you know, guarantee an immediate rotation
- 5:49of investors capital back into the sector.
- 5:52But the higher it goes, the more likely that will become and
- 5:56quite on. And, and, and I, I would always
- 5:58say to investors, I think it can happen overnight.
- 6:01And really, I would say, damn, probably what in the last two
- 6:04weeks, we've seen a noticeable, noticeable change in, in stocks,
- 6:11including, you know, first, first mining and some of the
- 6:14other mining stocks in, in, in the portfolio.
- 6:17And it's been a, it's been a, you know, a long wait.
- 6:20I completely agree with Dan that this is just starting for sort
- 6:25of companies like us that is developers.
- 6:28And I think for explorers, we've already seen the producers that
- 6:32are making huge, huge free cash flow at current gold prices.
- 6:38Their stocks have appreciated significantly over the last
- 6:43year. I still think there's more room.
- 6:45But I think you know, and Dan alluded to this, it starts off
- 6:48that, you know, when the sector turns, it starts off with the,
- 6:53the, the share prices of of the producers move first, then it
- 6:57trickles down to companies like first mining developer and then
- 7:02to the exploration companies. And I think we're just starting
- 7:05to see that. And you know, I just have to
- 7:08say, I told Dan earlier, you know, I must believe in what I'm
- 7:12saying. I actually bought more shares in
- 7:13First Mining this morning. Obviously very optimistic.
- 7:19Yeah, I, I like to describe because I've been investing in
- 7:22the sector for probably at least 10 years, in the last four or
- 7:25five years felt like a ghost town, right?
- 7:28There were very few people. There was very low volume.
- 7:31But the good news is now like the lights are back on, people
- 7:34are coming into town. I know Dan has mentioned to me
- 7:38that even at the conferences and I've heard that from other
- 7:40people as well, that there's a new energy and and the good news
- 7:44is that starting from such a low place gives us like this
- 7:48immediate opportunity for some big growth that that doesn't
- 7:52even really, I think fulfill where the where the whole sector
- 7:56could go in the long run. So good times ahead for for the
- 8:00precious metals, but also the entire mining sector.
- 8:04How does that how, how does First Mining Gold fit into that?
- 8:08You know, we got a lot of new people that are coming into this
- 8:11sector, some of which may be joining us right now in this
- 8:13video. Could one of you give like a
- 8:15little synopsis of kind of what the company's done and and where
- 8:20First Mining Gold is heading some things that we can have to
- 8:23to be excited about? Sure.
- 8:26Yeah. Oh, you go ahead, Yeah.
- 8:28OK. So yes, So what is first mining
- 8:31gold? We're a gold developer and we're
- 8:34actually advancing 2 of the largest undeveloped gold
- 8:37projects in in Canada. The company is actually put
- 8:40together by Keith Neumeyer of who was actually Co founder of
- 8:46very successful First Quantum Big copper producer and 1st
- 8:50Majestic Silver. I'd like to thank the sponsor of
- 8:53this video, First Mint. There are Silver Mint located in
- 8:57Las Vegas, NV creating world class silver bullion products.
- 9:02As a matter of fact, here's a 5 oz silver bar.
- 9:06You can check this out for yourself on their website,
- 9:09firstmint.com. Couple things unique about First
- 9:13Mint, they're owned by First Majestic Silver headed up by
- 9:17Keith Neumeyer, so they're getting the silver out of the
- 9:20ground to the mint, to you from the mine to the mint.
- 9:25Again, you can check them out at First mint.com.
- 9:28Thank you to 1st Mint for sponsoring Ron's basement and
- 9:31sponsoring this video. But back in around 2015 and
- 9:35space of I think 15 months, he bought around 8 projects, 8
- 9:41different companies. We have monetized some of those
- 9:45projects over the last couple of years.
- 9:47And by monetizing, I mean, either sell some of the projects
- 9:51in their entirety or sold we've sold certain interests, which
- 9:55has allowed us to raise a certain amount of money.
- 9:58That's monetizing means probably around 70,000,075 million, Dan,
- 10:03right now. Yeah.
- 10:03And and that has allowed us to to advance our two flagship
- 10:09projects. We have spring pole in Northwest
- 10:13Ontario and Duparquet in the very mining prolific region of
- 10:18Abbottibbe in Quebec. And these are both very large
- 10:24resources with robust economics that were detailed in various
- 10:29economic studies that we completed over the last number
- 10:32of years. So just a very quick summary for
- 10:35I guess the benefit of the viewers.
- 10:37Spring poll Northwest Ontario indicated resource around 4.6
- 10:44million ounces of gold plus another couple of 100,000 ounces
- 10:49in inferred resource. We we completed a pre
- 10:52feasibility study in 2021 for which we assumed a gold price of
- 10:58$1600. That gave us an after tax net
- 11:02present value of just under $1 billion US.
- 11:10The leverage to the price of gold on that net present value
- 11:15is huge. Every $100 that gold goes up
- 11:20translates into another 150 million US in after tax net
- 11:25present value. So you know, it, it, it's
- 11:29massive. This is a project capable of
- 11:32producing over 300,000 ounces of gold per year at cash costs and
- 11:38probably the lowest quartile in the, in the industry.
- 11:41Very important to mention. I'm, I'm sure Dan will be
- 11:44talking about this a little bit more, but back in last November,
- 11:49we submitted to the regulators the final environmental
- 11:53assessment document. Every mine that ever gets built
- 11:56has to go through the permitting process and we are expecting a
- 12:02decision from the regulators probably the first half of next
- 12:07year. Very exciting, could be a, you
- 12:10know, massive catalyst for, for the stock.
- 12:13The the reason I mentioned, by the way, 300,000 oz.
- 12:16This is a, this is a number that can be quite meaningful to some
- 12:23of the producers out there that need to not just replenish their
- 12:27depleting reserves, but to grow them.
- 12:30So anyway, very exciting times. Sorry, you were going to say
- 12:33something wrong. No, I, I, you said, because
- 12:37that's a big point that attracts me about the company.
- 12:39The big producers have neglected their pipeline, the big gold
- 12:44producing companies over the last 10 years.
- 12:46I think Dan, last time we talked, you said it used to be
- 12:49that they were in cost cutting mode and then it came, then it
- 12:53became returning value to shareholders.
- 12:55And now what what we're hearing from these big major producers
- 12:58is growth oriented. And Paul, when you said that, I
- 13:02realized like, not only do they have to replenish what they've
- 13:06been mining, but now they're also on top of that focused on
- 13:10growth. And there just aren't many big
- 13:12projects in great jurisdictions like Canada they can fit that
- 13:17bill. No, absolutely, absolutely.
- 13:20And just so very quickly, just to finish just a quick summary
- 13:23on our on our other project, flagship project du Parquet,
- 13:27this, this, this is a project in Quebec, phenomenal location.
- 13:33It's all mining, mining, mining, excellent, excellent
- 13:36infrastructure. This is a project that has 3.4
- 13:39million ounces in in indicated category and another 2.6
- 13:45approximately inferred resources.
- 13:49And we we're drilling there right now.
- 13:52We firmly believe that there is potential to significantly
- 13:56expand this resource. We actually came up with news
- 14:01today with some very encouraging drill results and so very, very
- 14:06exciting. We did complete a preliminary
- 14:09economic assessment study back at the towards the end of 2023.
- 14:15We assumed $1800 gold for for this for the study and that gave
- 14:22us an after tax net present value of just under 600 million
- 14:29Canadian. Also you know I mentioned the
- 14:32leverage to the gold price of the net present value of spring
- 14:36pole. This one also has the Duparquet
- 14:38also has significant leverage. Every $100 that gold moves moves
- 14:43up translates into another 100 million in after tax net present
- 14:48value on the Duparquet project. So right now we're sitting at
- 14:52just over $3700 gold. Needless to say, the values are
- 15:00significantly higher than. I I want to hear from Dan, but I
- 15:04can't, I can't help but point this out.
- 15:06So the PEA at the Duparquet project was conducted at a gold
- 15:10price that is a little bit less than half of where we are right
- 15:14now, correct? Yeah, exactly.
- 15:16OK, I just want to make sure I heard that correctly.
- 15:18Yeah. And it's, it's remarkable to
- 15:20think about that, Ron, and that it comes down, you know, to a
- 15:23lot of sort of where, where are we in the cycle and where are we
- 15:28seeing you got to remember, like analysts are still using
- 15:31consensus gold prices at 25 or $2600 an ounce, right?
- 15:36The gold price has moved well, well past that now.
- 15:40And that extra $1000 an ounce is basically free margin to the
- 15:45producers. And I can tell you having spent
- 15:48a lot of time with a number of them over the course of the last
- 15:50few weeks, most of them were budgeted for the 2025 at 24 to
- 15:57$2500 gold price and they're selling gold today at $3700 an
- 16:02ounce like and it's all free cash.
- 16:05That's free cash flow that's coming back, unexpected windfall
- 16:09cash flow coming into the sector.
- 16:11And we haven't seen a real M and a push.
- 16:15We've seen kind of selected tactical acquisitions.
- 16:19We've seen some strategic investments, the wallet starting
- 16:23to open up. What we have seen are a number
- 16:26of those big companies actually exiting strategic investment
- 16:30positions that they've had. We've seen a number of like
- 16:33multi $100 million exits on strategic investment positions.
- 16:38And we know that that is basically lining up for large
- 16:42cap gold miners to have more capital to be able to deploy
- 16:47into a development pipeline. Because as you know, as you
- 16:50said, we were at these conferences, it was remarkable
- 16:53in Colorado Springs at the America's Gold Forum, we went
- 16:59from this point and you say over the last 10 years, the bulk of
- 17:03those presentations by large cap companies have been we're going
- 17:07to contain costs. And here's how we're driving
- 17:10costs down. And then it became all we're
- 17:13generating some excess capital. Here's how we're going to return
- 17:16capital. Every single one of those
- 17:18companies CEO's standing in front of investors last week was
- 17:22talking about growth. What's the growth profile?
- 17:25Where are we going to get growth from?
- 17:27So we're coming just in very early stages into the growth
- 17:31phase here, which is very interesting for a company like
- 17:34us that has to, you know, world class meaningful scale
- 17:39development projects in Tier 1 jurisdictions which are really
- 17:42rare to find. Yeah.
- 17:45So, Dan, I was just going to add to that.
- 17:46You know, one of the things I think that makes us attractive
- 17:48with this spring poll project, you know, there aren't many
- 17:53resources of that size that are this close to an EA decision.
- 18:00And I think that's important. I think that sort of helps, you
- 18:05know, get us on people's radar. Yeah, for sure.
- 18:10Yeah. And that and that and that could
- 18:12be a major catalyst sometime potentially during the first
- 18:15half of 2026 is that. Correct, Correct.
- 18:18Yeah. That's the time frame that we're
- 18:20expecting environmental assessment decision,
- 18:24particularly on the federal process, but think the
- 18:27provincial process is tracking roughly in line with that as
- 18:29well. Yeah, yeah.
- 18:30I mean, I don't want to talk too much here because you guys are
- 18:33the experts, but as an investor and I've owned the stock long
- 18:36before you sponsored my channel, all that when I think about
- 18:42millions of Oz of gold literally in the ground in Canada and
- 18:47where the whole gold mining sector is evolving to like we
- 18:51just talked about, it's just it's a super exciting prospect.
- 18:56I wanted to ask you a question though.
- 18:58I know the market cap of the company, the stock's been doing
- 19:00pretty well in the last several months, which is great for
- 19:03everyone. But even at this higher market
- 19:06cap level, on A and a rough estimate, if you have a a
- 19:09number, what what's the gold per oz in the ground being valued at
- 19:13right now? Just out of curiosity.
- 19:15Yeah, right now it's about 20 bucks an ounce, you know, and so
- 19:19we're celebrating like, you know, Ron, for those of our
- 19:22shareholders like you who were, you know, picking up shares sub
- 19:27$0.10 US, you know, in the kind of 10 to 12 cent Canadian range,
- 19:32Yeah, it's up 2 1/2 to 3X off the bottom.
- 19:36But we're not really doing all that much celebrating here at
- 19:40first mining gold that we've gone from being valued at $7.00
- 19:43an ounce to $20.00 an ounce. Like first of all, in that time
- 19:47our advanced stage peers have gone from being valued at
- 19:50$100.00 an ounce to $200.00 an ounce.
- 19:53So relatively speaking, you know, we're still trading at a
- 19:58massive discount to a lot of our peers.
- 20:01But it's the thing. The thing with First Mining is
- 20:04that you have these near term, very tangible fundamental value
- 20:09catalysts that are the things that should allow investors to
- 20:14really look at the company and change that value perception
- 20:18when you get a project through that environmental assessment
- 20:21process. You know, you get agreement
- 20:24signed with Indigenous communities that you're working
- 20:26with around the project. Those are major, major value
- 20:31adding catalysts, fundamental value catalyst to a company like
- 20:35ours. So yeah, lots of work still to
- 20:38do for sure. Still lots of work being done,
- 20:42absolutely. But I think in terms of the time
- 20:44frame of these catalysts for those of us, you know, Paul's
- 20:47been a shareholder since 2015, I've been the CEO here since,
- 20:52you know, beginning of 2019. For those of us who've been on
- 20:56this path for a long, long time, it is nice to to see where these
- 21:03catalysts are now not years and years out, right.
- 21:06It's coming into a a reasonably near term focus.
- 21:10But you know, Dan, I love the point you made, $20.00 an ounce
- 21:13where our peers are trading between 100 and 200.
- 21:16That metric alone points towards some of the potential upside.
- 21:21And why do we invest? Very simply, we want to make a
- 21:24great return on, on our investment.
- 21:26And you're right, I've been an investor since 2015.
- 21:30I only joined the company in 2021, but you know, I, my
- 21:37conviction is huge. The other point I want to make,
- 21:40and this is, you know, as a former stockbroker, there were
- 21:45certain things I would look at when I was in evaluating
- 21:48investments for my former clients.
- 21:52And one of them and this is so important is does management
- 21:56have some of their own skin in the game?
- 21:59And Dan, you, well, it's public information.
- 22:05You have over 10 million shares, which is you?
- 22:10Sorry, how many? I'm closer to 14 now I think.
- 22:13Wow. OK.
- 22:16Paul. He's Paul.
- 22:17Just just for the record, he's paying for lunch next time you.
- 22:21Go out. Keep keep in mind Ron, it's also
- 22:24a guy who's done nothing but buy shares.
- 22:26Never sold. 6 and. 1/2 years. So unless I can use first mining
- 22:31shares at the at the deli counter, not quite yet, but no,
- 22:35that's true. And then and then Keith
- 22:37Newmeyer, who continues to add to his position, you know, Keith
- 22:41is now Paul well over 40 million shares.
- 22:45Well, I thought it was 39, but I know he is, I think he said it
- 22:50on that webinar his, his aim is to get to 50 million.
- 22:54So when you have that much invested you, you obviously have
- 23:01you know complete conviction in the in the company.
- 23:06That's one of the most important things that I look at, not
- 23:08necessarily the total percent of inside ownership of the company,
- 23:13but when I look at the CEO or I look at other management
- 23:16members, does the amount that they have invested, does that
- 23:20represent a material amount of money to them?
- 23:22And I know that Dan, you know, get into your private
- 23:26information, but you shared with me that that is a material
- 23:29amount of money to you. You aren't a multi billionaire
- 23:32yet, but but the the amount that you have invested in first
- 23:36mining is a is a significant amount to you.
- 23:39And that's to me, that's very important.
- 23:42Very, very significant. Yeah, very significant.
- 23:44OK. Yeah, yeah, yeah, very
- 23:46significant. And, and you like and, and cash
- 23:49gone into the company, right. This isn't free stock granted
- 23:53because we started the company and you know, an initial
- 23:56ownership stake, this is dollars in to buy shares.
- 23:59And for me, most of it's gone in, in the financings that we've
- 24:02done, but it's, yeah, it's real money into the company, more
- 24:06than $2,000,000 of my own money into the company to support its
- 24:11growth. So for me, for me as a
- 24:13shareholder, I feel like your interests are aligned with my
- 24:18interest, right? We're, we're, you're, you're
- 24:20definitely aligned. And I know that other members of
- 24:22the management team have also participated in in, in offerings
- 24:27that went on in the past as well.
- 24:28Yeah, the whole team and then and you know what?
- 24:31What's wonderful, we, we, we have over the last number of
- 24:35years, you know, we haven't had a lot of cash to be able to pay
- 24:38people. A lot of the management team has
- 24:40taken a lot of their compensation in restricted stock
- 24:44units in options. You know, we have options that
- 24:47go all the way down right through the entire organization
- 24:51down to, you know, some of our staff that's working at the
- 24:54camps, at spring pool and, and our team working on site at
- 24:57Duparque. Everyone is is an aligned owner
- 25:01and you know, none of us have made a penny on that equity comp
- 25:05really over the last six years. So it's nice now with this
- 25:09little run up, we are seeing some of our, you know, some of
- 25:12our employees for whom this is, it's a meaningful amount of
- 25:16money, right? Like this is getting to be
- 25:20realizing some of the value of their hard work and and having
- 25:24that equity exposure through that long difficult time.
- 25:28But yeah, it's all feels like it's turning around.
- 25:31Yeah. You know the one, one thing I, I
- 25:34kind of want to mention is, you know, we're, we're well funded.
- 25:38We did, I think it was to be announced back in late July of
- 25:42financing where we were looking to raise announced $20 million,
- 25:47but we had demand for probably around 50 million and settled at
- 25:5336 million. And a lot of people who
- 25:54participated in that financing, existing investors, we have
- 26:00very, very loyal support supporters who have, you know,
- 26:04who obviously like the projects and have great, great faith in
- 26:09management. And these are gold investors.
- 26:13And I think what we're starting to see now is the generalist
- 26:16investors starting to look and say, you know what we've got to,
- 26:20you know, gold just is on a real term.
- 26:23We've got to start allocating some of our portfolio into the
- 26:29gold, into gold, gold stocks. And I'm not sure what the
- 26:32percentages of global investment assets allocated towards gold.
- 26:38I know in other inflationary times it's been quite high, like
- 26:42over 20%, but I think it's probably, I don't know, Dan,
- 26:46have you seen any info like maybe 1 or 2%?
- 26:491 to 2% right now, yeah. Yeah, so there's.
- 26:52There's there's, there's all kinds of numbers out there about
- 26:55that, but every one of them points towards the fact that
- 26:57we're like it bouncing off the all time low and you know that 3
- 27:02to 4 to 5 to 8 times higher would get us back to average.
- 27:06So sorry to interrupt you, Paul. That's OK.
- 27:08No, that's it's the point I wanted to make.
- 27:10But thank you. I want to, I want to ask one
- 27:13more question or bring up one more point.
- 27:15I know from having invested in the gold mining sector myself
- 27:18now for gosh, 10 or 15 years, one of the key components if you
- 27:22want to build a mine is to have community support.
- 27:26And I know things are going really well along those lines at
- 27:29at Spring Pole, but there was a a big announcement a few weeks
- 27:33back at Dupart K Dan, could you kind of maybe elaborate on that
- 27:37and let us know or the viewers know one of the importance of,
- 27:41of what came out with that announcement?
- 27:42Yeah, it was last week we signed an agreement with the
- 27:46municipality of du Parque, which is really kind of novel for a
- 27:52mining developer like us. But it's basically an agreement
- 27:56and a pathway forward that we can work to develop the town,
- 28:04the city's plans for how they want to grow and integrate those
- 28:10with the development of the mining project.
- 28:12So the design of the community informs the design of the mine
- 28:17and vice versa. So we can, you know, really work
- 28:20together, plan, understand what the community wants to see, how
- 28:26they want to see it grow, what are the priorities?
- 28:29You know, we've, we've enabled that with a bit of a land
- 28:32transfer because we still own a lot of surface rights around the
- 28:36city. But it's, it's so important and
- 28:40particularly in these, in these vibrant former mining
- 28:43communities and mining towns in Quebec that you have communities
- 28:50that, that, that have existed. The community of Duparke has
- 28:53existed since 1933 when they built the original mine there.
- 28:58So it's almost 100 years and in a lot of these towns have run on
- 29:05run into run through pretty hard times over the last number of
- 29:08years. But, you know, with an
- 29:10opportunity for an economic driver like the reopening of the
- 29:14mine, no great community support, you know, lots of great
- 29:19interest in seeing how the project's going to be developed.
- 29:22And importantly, that real engagement.
- 29:24You know, we're at a community meeting with a more than 100
- 29:27people there last Thursday, which was just amazing.
- 29:31You know, and people have concerns and people have
- 29:34priorities. There's a lot we need to work
- 29:36through. But this agreement with the city
- 29:39is a real path forward. It lays out a number of
- 29:43structures that will have for communication between the
- 29:47company and the city and you know, citizens councils that
- 29:51will be there to really help inform what are the priorities
- 29:55in the development of the city. And then we reflect those in the
- 29:58development of the of the mining projects.
- 30:00So really I think kind of forward, forward facing and one
- 30:05of the most unique of these types of agreements I think
- 30:07that's ever been done in Quebec. So we're absolutely delighted,
- 30:11lots of work in front of us, but absolutely delighted to be
- 30:15rolling our sleeves up there because even as we, as we showed
- 30:18this morning, there's a lot more gold to find at Duparque.
- 30:23You know, you look at the drill results that we've been having
- 30:25there, as Paul said, you know, three and a half million ounces
- 30:29of M and I2 and a half million ounces of inferred resource.
- 30:33And you know, we've now drilled 30,000 meters at Duparquet and a
- 30:37pretty much every hole has gold in it, right.
- 30:40And we're finding new zones. We're expanding, you know, we're
- 30:43expanding the the, the depth, we're expanding the tenor and in
- 30:49a lot of cases like these ones this morning finding higher
- 30:52grade mineralization in parallel zones around where we have
- 30:57existing mineralization. So it's super exciting and then
- 31:01to have that context of alignment with the city on how
- 31:06we move the project forward, I think really sets du Parquet up
- 31:10for a very, very interesting next next few years.
- 31:14You know, we I think we get very little value for du Parquet in
- 31:18our share price. I think it's a really under
- 31:20appreciated asset, but the reality is it's one of the
- 31:23largest and one of the most robust potential gold projects
- 31:29in Canada in the world. Or not like, but specifically
- 31:32they're right in the middle of this amazing area, such a rich
- 31:36mining culture, right in the middle of the Abitibi.
- 31:39You could not ask for a better place to build a project.
- 31:41Do you know, can I just make one comment, Dan?
- 31:45Yeah, the news we came out with this morning, good grades,
- 31:48really nice results. But that was near surface, which
- 31:52in itself is encouraging in in this region, there's a lot more
- 31:57gold to be found deeper down. Yeah.
- 32:02No further down. And that's so that, you know, I
- 32:04think there's some great potential from that regard.
- 32:07Absolutely, yeah. And it's, you know, I had the
- 32:09been the, the, the fortunate experience of visiting du
- 32:12Parquet myself two years ago right now.
- 32:15And it is, you know, that area, my observation is definitely a
- 32:19mining area, but very nice people, very nice town.
- 32:23And there were mines everywhere and there were mines in that.
- 32:27And it isn't like this is a new concept.
- 32:29These are, I get the feeling, people that that know the
- 32:32benefit, the mutual benefit that can accrue and what it can do
- 32:37for the community if a mine is built.
- 32:40Absolutely. And I always kind of point out
- 32:42to people, if you look at where Duparque is, you're about an
- 32:45hour, we call it a 2 hour drive to Timmons and a two hour drive
- 32:50to Valdor. Yeah.
- 32:52Between those two mining cities, you have literally every mining
- 32:57supplier in the world, right? You've got almost every mining
- 33:00contractor in the world. You've got one of the world's
- 33:03greatest sources of technical mining capability.
- 33:07You've got one of the greatest mining workforces.
- 33:10People from the Abitibi fly all over the world to work in mining
- 33:14projects. You know, every week it's
- 33:19remarkable. It just, it's such a culture in
- 33:21the area and it's been such a contributor and a builder of a
- 33:25lot of those towns and cities and a builder and and provider
- 33:32for a lot of the families that have been in in the area for 100
- 33:36years plus. So even at Duparcate, a
- 33:38community meeting or this meeting, you know, meeting some
- 33:41of the, some of the community citizens who were born in Du
- 33:46Parquet or their parents were born in Du Parquet, their
- 33:49grandparents came to Du Parquet in the 1930s and the families
- 33:52are still in the town. Like it's, it's remarkable.
- 33:55It really is. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 33:58A, a rich mining history. I want to tell people how they
- 34:01can learn more about first mining gold and how they can
- 34:03even talk to the director of investor relations himself.
- 34:07But is there anything that I forgot to ask either of you?
- 34:11Any points you'd like to make before we wrap up?
- 34:14No, just the the last key ones. I think we've said it all, but
- 34:17you know, still undervalued. Lots of near term catalysts on
- 34:21the horizon here and Paul can tell you where to find him.
- 34:26Yeah, I so honestly and I I'm absolutely delighted to chat
- 34:31with anybody who wants to talk with me.
- 34:33But the best way to to reach me by my e-mail, which is Paul,
- 34:39because I have an English accent.
- 34:40I'm going to spell that out for you Pau
- 34:42l.paul@firstmininggold.com. So that's
- 34:47paul@firstmininggold.com. Send me an if you if you want to
- 34:51chat or you want to set up a you had a telephone call or a video
- 34:56call, Just send me an e-mail or just if you have any questions
- 35:00based on what you've heard today, just send me an e-mail.
- 35:02I'll get. One thing I promise to do is get
- 35:04back to you very quickly. Yeah, yeah.
- 35:07Paul, you do an outstanding job of staying in communications
- 35:11with the investors, the investment community in general.
- 35:14And if people want to learn more about the company from the
- 35:17website thatsfirstmininggold.com all spelled out.
- 35:23Thank you. Thank you, Dan.
- 35:25Thank you, Paul for joining us on behalf of myself and our
- 35:27viewer. I think people have learned a
- 35:29lot about First Mining Gold, a lot about what's going on out
- 35:33there right now in the general precious metal sector.
- 35:35And it's going to be super exciting to continue for me this
- 35:39journey and see where it leads here in the coming months,
- 35:42quarters and years for First Mining Gold.
- 35:44Thank you. Well.
- 35:45Thanks to you, Ron. You've been a great supporter of
- 35:47ours and a great partner of ours for years and we really
- 35:50appreciate it and really appreciate the, the community of
- 35:54basement dwellers who many of whom have become shareholders of
- 35:58ours. So it's always, always a
- 36:00pleasure for us to chat. Yeah.
- 36:01Yeah. Thanks very much, Ron.
- 36:03Thanks for inviting me. Thanks guys.
