- 0:00Speaker 1: Congratulations. That song I wrote.
- 0:02Speaker 2: You were so patriotic they decided to make it into
- 0:05Speaker 2: a shavy commercial. So I changed a few lines.
- 0:09Speaker 3: I don't know. You're asking us to sell out our
- 0:11Speaker 3: song and for what? Cash?
- 0:13Speaker 1: Money?
- 0:15Speaker 2: Money?
- 0:16Speaker 3: We love money. That's great, Buy me a clock radio.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Four finger Discount.
- 0:21Speaker 3: Dude, Welcome to four figure discount where this week we're
- 0:39Speaker 3: here to review a sequel episode to a beloved episode
- 0:43Speaker 3: of The Simpsons, all away from season three. That episode
- 0:45Speaker 3: in question is Colonel Homer. This is a sequel to that.
- 0:48Speaker 3: It is Papa Don't match. I'm down, I'm guy.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Welcome to forefinger Discount, the podcast that has more boogie
- 0:53Speaker 1: less woogie? Should we throw it down? Flipping and revers
- 0:57Speaker 1: should we should we turn up the woogie? Should we
- 0:59Speaker 1: up jump the bookie?
- 1:00Speaker 3: I really related to grandpart in that moment. By the way,
- 1:02Speaker 3: Actually one of my favorite moments was Grandpa there was
- 1:06Speaker 3: It might have been exactly what it was I was
- 1:08Speaker 3: going to write down, but it was when he was
- 1:09Speaker 3: ranting about the radio and his little grievances. I was like,
- 1:12Speaker 3: I find grievous of these things too. Now I am
- 1:15Speaker 3: I'm now thirty six, you see happy birthday to you. Yeah,
- 1:19Speaker 3: it was.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Time has passed since we last recorded, Dan it has
- 1:23Speaker 1: got another year. Roll now I have got another year. Yeah,
- 1:25Speaker 1: we exchanged gift. Happy birthday to you, and we're both
- 1:29Speaker 1: very very happy with our current situations and our current ages.
- 1:32Speaker 1: I'm not sad at all. I was about to say,
- 1:36Speaker 1: yeahs I have put together playlists of songs on your
- 1:41Speaker 1: various streamers, like great, all my favorites all in one place.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Scare it, scare it? Not in the mood for it,
- 1:46Speaker 1: scare it? Why do I put this on here?
- 1:48Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:49Speaker 1: So, yes, I am constantly relating to Grandpa, but not
- 1:52Speaker 1: more so in that moment. Look a lot to talk
- 1:54Speaker 1: about in this episode, which I think we both enjoyed.
- 1:56Speaker 3: Yes, yes, now for the first I'm gonna be ready
- 1:58Speaker 3: off my phone for you people watching the show, because
- 2:00Speaker 3: I read watch this in bed last night and took
- 2:02Speaker 3: my notes on my phone. I thought it was better
- 2:05Speaker 3: to do that because in bed, I know, I was
- 2:07Speaker 3: just more relaxed, sort of just calm taking my notes.
- 2:10Speaker 3: I feel like when I'm sitting here at the desk,
- 2:11Speaker 3: it feels like not work work, but it feels like
- 2:14Speaker 3: I'm really over analyzing my thoughts in this episode. I
- 2:17Speaker 3: actually feel like I enjoyed the episode more just by
- 2:18Speaker 3: watching in a more relaxed environment, do more.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Things in bed. That's the fourth way get into your
- 2:26Speaker 1: racecar bed And yes, zoom zoom zoom.
- 2:28Speaker 3: My first note. I've got here, though it says a
- 2:30Speaker 3: sequel we didn't necessarily need, although I'm glad it existed
- 2:33Speaker 3: because I always hated the idea that Llewleine Lumpkin just
- 2:36Speaker 3: became this failure. Who I believe it's the monorail Episodehere,
- 2:38Speaker 3: she sayes, I spoke last night in the ditch. It
- 2:41Speaker 3: always felt sad that she sort of just she needed
- 2:44Speaker 3: home in her life to keep her on track. When
- 2:45Speaker 3: she lost home and she lost everything, it just seems
- 2:47Speaker 3: like a sad end to that timeline to her life.
- 2:50Speaker 3: I like the fact that while she didn't pay her
- 2:52Speaker 3: taxes and her life wasn't sort of because music country
- 2:54Speaker 3: music wasn't sort of the thing anymore. She wasn't exactly
- 2:57Speaker 3: a success. She still wasn't living in a ditch. I
- 2:59Speaker 3: guess she was kind of homeless but kind of underpass Absolutely,
- 3:03Speaker 3: it's nice that she got the she got a life
- 3:05Speaker 3: back on track because of this episode. Though.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I will say the country music, I mean it
- 3:09Speaker 1: ebbs and flows, of course, but I think it's been
- 3:10Speaker 1: a constant for a very very long time, and it's
- 3:12Speaker 1: always very very popular in its lane. And sometimes once
- 3:15Speaker 1: in a while you'll have a breakout out of Twain. Yeah,
- 3:18Speaker 1: someone like that. Absolute that the Chicks. The Chicks, Yeah,
- 3:21Speaker 1: the artist formerly known as.
- 3:22Speaker 3: The Dixie Chicks. Their appearance was actually quite good, it
- 3:26Speaker 3: was indeed. Yeah, I'm sorry to derayl.
- 3:28Speaker 1: I just wanted to do a couple of quick bits
- 3:29Speaker 1: of business before we actually talk about the episode.
- 3:31Speaker 3: Patreon, subscribe to the channel.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Make more friends of the Pie, come be our buddies. No, no,
- 3:37Speaker 1: I want to say a couple of things. Today is
- 3:39Speaker 1: the day this is Simpson's right, trust meet, It's not
- 3:42Speaker 1: just me being perving on young female music artists. Today
- 3:46Speaker 1: was the day that I learned that Sabrina Carpenter. You
- 3:49Speaker 1: may know her for the song That's Me Me Espresso.
- 3:51Speaker 1: I don't know her for the song. I don't know
- 3:53Speaker 1: that song, don't you know? She is apparently the niece
- 3:55Speaker 1: of Nancy can't write the voice of about Simpson. So
- 3:57Speaker 1: there we go. All the kids out there who are like, yeah,
- 4:00Speaker 1: Sabrina Carbon, It's like Simpson's connection. So it's all part
- 4:04Speaker 1: of the unified theory of four finger discount that we
- 4:05Speaker 1: pride ourselves on. On a sounder note, today is the
- 4:08Speaker 1: day that we lost one of the great actors, one
- 4:11Speaker 1: of the great voices absolutely of American entertainment, of world
- 4:15Speaker 1: wde entertainment, James L.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Jones.
- 4:17Speaker 1: It would be facetious and lid for me to go no,
- 4:20Speaker 1: so I won't do that, but I will say that, Yeah,
- 4:23Speaker 1: just one of the great actors we ever had. And
- 4:25Speaker 1: of course you know pivotal in the voice of Darth Vada,
- 4:28Speaker 1: the voice of Vasa.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Yeah. Also the old man who owned the Beast in
- 4:32Speaker 3: the sound Lot kids, there is.
- 4:34Speaker 1: That as well, Terrence Man from Field of Dreams and
- 4:37Speaker 1: of course False Doom Cone of the Barbarians are Jenmey
- 4:40Speaker 1: one of my favorites of his performances, James L. Jones,
- 4:43Speaker 1: what a lord.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I think the whole world is in morning because
- 4:46Speaker 3: he's just one of those people that everyone loved him. Absolutely.
- 4:48Speaker 3: It feels like Star Wars won't feel the same in you.
- 4:50Speaker 3: It's like, oh, we've lost We've lost darf Vada. Yeah,
- 4:53Speaker 3: we lost a real core aspect. Yeah, I wonder if
- 4:56Speaker 3: any form of Darth Vada appearance is going forward just
- 4:59Speaker 3: Ai his voice of his family.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Well, I think that I think they may have already
- 5:03Speaker 1: done that to some degree. Okay, yeah hopefully, but yeah,
- 5:06Speaker 1: hopefully it gets to continue on because it really is
- 5:09Speaker 1: a pivotal part of the whole Star Wars universe.
- 5:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:12Speaker 1: I just wanted to throw those things in, But we
- 5:14Speaker 1: now return you to Papa don't leitch already in progress?
- 5:17Speaker 1: So what we your initial thoughts of the episode when
- 5:18Speaker 1: he finished it? Did you enjoy it or did you
- 5:20Speaker 1: not enjoy it? I did enjoy it a whole lot. Look,
- 5:21Speaker 1: there are aspects of it, and it certainly starts off
- 5:23Speaker 1: in a way that's like, oh, I don't know.
- 5:25Speaker 3: What I was really annoyed by it until I've read
- 5:27Speaker 3: what it was a reference to.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Okay, Well, tell us a bit about should we tell
- 5:30Speaker 1: the Well, I at first I thought we're here to
- 5:33Speaker 1: tell the listers what an episode is about. So I
- 5:35Speaker 1: will say that it's basically homely euthanizing Grandpa.
- 5:39Speaker 3: I've got he could have done with that. Homer wanting
- 5:41Speaker 3: to kill Grandpa in his dream and then feeling no
- 5:44Speaker 3: remorse for it when he woke up, right, I didn't
- 5:46Speaker 3: realize that was a reference to spoiler left Sopranos Tony
- 5:50Speaker 3: killing in the car accident. Yes, yea, yeah, so that
- 5:54Speaker 3: was at that time. It just happened. It was so
- 5:56Speaker 3: this is two thousand and eight. That ended in two
- 5:57Speaker 3: thousand and six, so that was a big moment in
- 5:59Speaker 3: TV history. They were acknowledging that. I feel though he
- 6:02Speaker 3: should have woken up. I feel that might would have
- 6:04Speaker 3: felt better if you woke up and go, oh my god.
- 6:05Speaker 3: A couple if I did that to Grandpa and he goes, what, Oh,
- 6:08Speaker 3: it was just a dream, and then Grandpa arrives and
- 6:11Speaker 3: he goes, go away, Oh man, that's not as harsh
- 6:13Speaker 3: as wanting to kill him. Absolutely, he should have felt
- 6:15Speaker 3: remorse for killing him in his dream. He could still
- 6:17Speaker 3: be petty and not treating him well. Sure, that's the
- 6:19Speaker 3: game that had been running for with the last nineteen
- 6:21Speaker 3: seasons of the show, but not but feeling happy that
- 6:24Speaker 3: he killed him. I thought, that's just silly.
- 6:26Speaker 1: It was, and it sort of It starts the episode
- 6:28Speaker 1: on a bit of a sound note, but I thought.
- 6:30Speaker 3: Before the actually the car was funny. The first line
- 6:33Speaker 3: of you should be sure you should be driving at night.
- 6:35Speaker 3: It's night that yeah, particularly someone who hates driving at
- 6:39Speaker 3: night now because the headlights are too bright.
- 6:42Speaker 1: But I find that a lot of people are saying
- 6:43Speaker 1: this are not just olds like myself. Young people are saying,
- 6:46Speaker 1: what's what's the new with headlights? I was driving my
- 6:48Speaker 1: mum's car to go pick up. I bought a signed
- 6:51Speaker 1: two thousand and nine ge Long Premiership guernsey in a
- 6:53Speaker 1: frame right from the guy in Geelong. But it didn't
- 6:56Speaker 1: fit in the back of Nicholas car, so I'd say
- 6:59Speaker 1: it didn't especially glass. What the hell this is for
- 7:04Speaker 1: a road?
- 7:05Speaker 3: And I buy my mum's car right, and it's a
- 7:08Speaker 3: an SUV style car. It's a bigger car. It's a
- 7:11Speaker 3: bigger car. Yeah, it's like a four wheel drive kind
- 7:13Speaker 3: of stuff. And I'm in law and order suv. Yeah. Yeah,
- 7:16Speaker 3: it's a canyon narrow it looks red and everything. And
- 7:19Speaker 3: I turned on the headlights and it just felt like
- 7:21Speaker 3: the high beams run, I said. I got to the
- 7:23Speaker 3: point where I was driving past the car. I thought,
- 7:24Speaker 3: this isn't right. I'm going to cause the car I
- 7:26Speaker 3: pulled over. I was like, Mom had you turn your
- 7:27Speaker 3: higher beams off. I feel like I'm on auto, but
- 7:29Speaker 3: it's still your high beam. She goes, it's not the
- 7:31Speaker 3: high beams bright. I was going, Mum, you don't understand.
- 7:33Speaker 3: I can see right down the street this. These are
- 7:35Speaker 3: clearly the high beams. She just flicker forward, flick the
- 7:38Speaker 3: forward high beams. It was like daytime. I was like,
- 7:40Speaker 3: this is this now the standard for a headlight? I
- 7:43Speaker 3: can see what people are doing in Sydney. Yeah, so
- 7:46Speaker 3: I get that headlights are do right now. Thank god.
- 7:49Speaker 3: It's not just me. No, it's not just you.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Yeah, but you're right. That's that initial part with yeah,
- 7:55Speaker 1: driving at night.
- 7:56Speaker 3: It's a it's a soprano's reference that can't find the d.
- 7:59Speaker 1: That was all good, Yes, that bit was a bit darker.
- 8:02Speaker 1: It's like if you don't know the Sopranos, which is
- 8:03Speaker 1: sad to say, I don't really. Apparently it's a good
- 8:06Speaker 1: doco on the making of the Sopranos now on We've
- 8:08Speaker 1: got it on foxtewel here in Australia, HBO in the
- 8:11Speaker 1: States called wise Guy The Making David Chase and the
- 8:14Speaker 1: Making of the Sopranos. I'm gonna watch it. I bought
- 8:17Speaker 1: the having not watched the Sopranos, I bought.
- 8:18Speaker 3: The Blu ray collection and it's got like so many
- 8:21Speaker 3: audio commentaries and documentaries in retrospectives, which I will probably
- 8:24Speaker 3: watched first. Yeah, but that was the sound that the
- 8:29Speaker 3: episode started with. It want the reference, but.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Yeah, but once it started to roll and I'm really
- 8:34Speaker 1: enjoyed it. I mean I was. I was a fan
- 8:35Speaker 1: of Colonel Homer, like I imagine a lot of people are.
- 8:38Speaker 1: And this didn't feel necessarily like a cash grab or
- 8:41Speaker 1: a cash in or got that's what avating scrap does it,
- 8:43Speaker 1: or a trading on of course, it's going to be
- 8:46Speaker 1: trading on your warm feelings of that previous episode, but
- 8:49Speaker 1: not in a way that makes you go, remember this,
- 8:53Speaker 1: remember how you felt then, Well you're going to feel
- 8:55Speaker 1: it again now because you're you know, Asuka. It's like no, no,
- 8:57Speaker 1: it earns it and she never wants flirts with Homer,
- 8:59Speaker 1: which is good as well. That's right, Becau.
- 9:01Speaker 3: They could have just rehashed that story, but it's a
- 9:02Speaker 3: completely new story, is completely fresh story for learning love
- 9:06Speaker 3: it is.
- 9:06Speaker 1: And the way that she and Marge interact, I think
- 9:10Speaker 1: it was to be expected the way they would do it,
- 9:12Speaker 1: but they they play it well, they don't overplay it.
- 9:15Speaker 1: There are aspects of it that are a little, I
- 9:17Speaker 1: guess obvious, but also to be expected.
- 9:20Speaker 3: It's understandable why Marge would not want this woman in
- 9:22Speaker 3: her house, completely understandable. And I like that they brought
- 9:26Speaker 3: those things up. With the teeth of the teeth. That
- 9:28Speaker 3: was sort of like the one hey remember when that
- 9:30Speaker 3: happened moment with the teeth we're getting some sound on
- 9:32Speaker 3: the track, remember that moment. Yeah, yeah, that's the only
- 9:34Speaker 3: time they sort of sort of go, hey, remember that
- 9:36Speaker 3: for the nostalgia factor. But I like that in the
- 9:39Speaker 3: and Marje realizes, Oh, she's not here to flirt with Homer,
- 9:43Speaker 3: she has daddy issues. Let's help her with that.
- 9:46Speaker 1: I was actually really charmed when you see the reappearance
- 9:50Speaker 1: of Girl Home.
- 9:51Speaker 3: Yeah, and major Mara. Yeah. It wasn't like in the
- 9:55Speaker 3: Dream Full Circle. It's like, oh, now the woman she
- 9:58Speaker 3: hated Nami, the woman that you know she shoots her
- 10:00Speaker 3: perhaps aroount Yeah, with the opening thing. So the opening
- 10:03Speaker 3: story I've got here of them faking a disaster to
- 10:05Speaker 3: get money only get full again was swift enough that
- 10:08Speaker 3: it didn't feel like it was filler, that's right. Yeah,
- 10:11Speaker 3: it set up the story. The best Simpsons episodes of
- 10:13Speaker 3: the one sometimes it got like you know that tramampoline right,
- 10:16Speaker 3: just like five minutes, it doesn't feel like it's filler.
- 10:18Speaker 3: This one here, I quite enjoyed. It goes and that's
- 10:21Speaker 3: how we got routed by that.
- 10:23Speaker 1: We're counting ahead to one of my favorite moments, which
- 10:24Speaker 1: I thought was fantastic. It was a really good dag.
- 10:29Speaker 3: Now we're even more broke. They tried to pull the
- 10:32Speaker 3: swiftly and they got rauted again.
- 10:34Speaker 1: And as you know, I'm a fan of any time
- 10:37Speaker 1: we get more Quimni because I just love the guy. Yeah,
- 10:39Speaker 1: and the show that is just as corrupt as the
- 10:42Speaker 1: day is long to the point where he's just willing
- 10:45Speaker 1: to grab girls, gag cookies off for girls.
- 10:48Speaker 3: That was marvelous reservations in five minutes.
- 10:53Speaker 1: A lot of good one liners in this one, and
- 10:56Speaker 1: they all surround like a really solid story idea. Yeah,
- 10:59Speaker 1: there's not too as I said, starts off on the
- 11:02Speaker 1: sale note, but you're hard pressed to find too many
- 11:03Speaker 1: bum notes in this episode. I think it worked really
- 11:05Speaker 1: really well.
- 11:06Speaker 3: Well, it's just it's an interesting plot point in that
- 11:08Speaker 3: lurl dependence on a man steps from her father abandoning her.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm glad to mention that this is maybe it's
- 11:13Speaker 1: not even an issue that i'd had, because whoever voices
- 11:17Speaker 1: is it Royce Lumpkin.
- 11:19Speaker 3: Who voiced voice I know the Beverly return for Lurline here,
- 11:21Speaker 3: which which made it even feel more special. Absolutely, yeah, no,
- 11:25Speaker 3: just it sounds like a Hank iss Ario, it does,
- 11:28Speaker 3: doesn't it.
- 11:28Speaker 1: And look, well, do you respect a hank Man of
- 11:30Speaker 1: a thousand voices? Yeah, I'll probably do with that a poop, but.
- 11:34Speaker 3: We couldn't do with the poop, but not a poo.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Oh no, we've got to do with a poop.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Actually, press pauls from a moment, we'll be right back.
- 11:44Speaker 1: It felt like this would be a great opportunity for
- 11:47Speaker 1: if not necessarily a star, then just like a really good,
- 11:51Speaker 1: well revered character actor to come in. And just I
- 11:55Speaker 1: thought Hank did great, but to add a little bit
- 11:57Speaker 1: of extra spice.
- 11:58Speaker 3: To it, a country western Keny Rodgers something, or like
- 12:01Speaker 3: Willie Nelson, Yeah, or even someone like I want the
- 12:05Speaker 3: King of the Hill. Do they had they had to
- 12:07Speaker 3: tell me Whenette was the mother, wasn't That's right? Yeah,
- 12:09Speaker 3: and who was that? Who was the Jewish comedian Carl Ryan?
- 12:12Speaker 3: You can't run it? Yes, Yeah, they're really good at
- 12:14Speaker 3: picking guest stars on King of the Hill, aren't you.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Yeah. So I mean, if you could get an actual
- 12:18Speaker 1: country music performer who dabbles in acting, Yeah, like Kenny
- 12:20Speaker 1: Rodgers or Willie Nelson or Johnny cashtill alive at.
- 12:23Speaker 3: That stage, Johnny Cash when I was walk the Line
- 12:26Speaker 3: two thousand and five, so he's passed away before that
- 12:28Speaker 3: wasn't either that?
- 12:28Speaker 1: Or you need someone who's got a literally a bit
- 12:32Speaker 1: of ham on the bone.
- 12:32Speaker 3: Because Ham ham Berlin.
- 12:35Speaker 1: That always makes me think of a guy we used
- 12:37Speaker 1: to work with Andy because he loved that bit from
- 12:40Speaker 1: was it Regular show that had show you the bit
- 12:42Speaker 1: with hamd But every once in a while you'd hear Andy.
- 12:46Speaker 3: Go if you Andy, Andy Sandler shout to Andy heat you,
- 12:50Speaker 3: I'm in a Natree care.
- 12:55Speaker 1: But you need someone with a little like Ham on
- 12:57Speaker 1: the bone. He's notoriously apparently he's pretty good to work with,
- 13:00Speaker 1: but not so good on the publicity trail. Someone like
- 13:02Speaker 1: Tommy Lee Jones. He played Loretta Lynn's husband in Coleman
- 13:07Speaker 1: and his Daughter of the movie that was sort of
- 13:09Speaker 1: made about her life, and I get the feeling.
- 13:12Speaker 3: He could probably I he'd be wacky enough.
- 13:15Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 13:15Speaker 3: He tried to be wacky and Batman to keep up
- 13:17Speaker 3: with carry. I don't feel like he'd beat this.
- 13:19Speaker 1: He had that period in the in the mid nineties
- 13:21Speaker 1: was like I'm really going for it. I think it's
- 13:22Speaker 1: in Batman Forever, in Natural Warm Killers, where he's like, well,
- 13:25Speaker 1: you really played to the back row, aren't you. There's
- 13:27Speaker 1: a guy who's been on the show before, Charles Napier, Yes, yeah,
- 13:33Speaker 1: you get the thing. He'd be really good, or someone
- 13:35Speaker 1: like Harry Dean Stanton, like a character actor who sort
- 13:37Speaker 1: of plays wildly old guys. I think that I think
- 13:39Speaker 1: they would have been great, But it just struck me
- 13:42Speaker 1: as a missed opportunity more than something that derails the episode.
- 13:44Speaker 1: But generally very very happy with with Papa Don't Lege and.
- 13:48Speaker 3: Happy to talk about it. I want to talk about
- 13:50Speaker 3: the Dick Dixie Chicks.
- 13:51Speaker 1: I want to talk about that.
- 13:52Speaker 3: So they were they were they were canceled.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Yeah, canceled before cancelation was the thing, and not even
- 14:00Speaker 1: canceled by canceled by some sections of.
- 14:04Speaker 3: The of the music against Bush, right, they did.
- 14:07Speaker 1: They said not our president or he was they we
- 14:10Speaker 1: were ashamed that he's our president because they were very
- 14:13Speaker 1: anti war on terror, and this was of course post
- 14:15Speaker 1: nine to eleven, and everyone was like, go get them.
- 14:17Speaker 3: To because there because the worst of the song are
- 14:20Speaker 3: basically mocking them. We've learned that lesson pro Fox News.
- 14:26Speaker 3: Oh yeah, we said the things out of line.
- 14:29Speaker 1: They're pretty savvy that you're like, oh god, we've got
- 14:31Speaker 1: to go on the apology tour to.
- 14:32Speaker 3: They go to one of my spoil on my Chrivy questions.
- 14:34Speaker 3: They record at White Trash Records. I missed that, so
- 14:37Speaker 3: I'm glad that you spoiled that Drivia question.
- 14:40Speaker 1: I would not have been able to answer to the
- 14:42Speaker 1: best of my recollection. The Dixie Chicks, now that known
- 14:46Speaker 1: as the Chicks, never really backed down from the whole.
- 14:49Speaker 1: I think they made an album called not Ready to
- 14:51Speaker 1: Make Nice or or there maybe it was a documentary
- 14:54Speaker 1: about I'm called Unapologetic or something along those lines. But yeah,
- 14:56Speaker 1: they were very much nowhere sticking to our guns. So
- 15:00Speaker 1: for them to take the piss out of themselves pretty
- 15:02Speaker 1: well here with the whole with the song thing. But
- 15:05Speaker 1: also I mean to jump ahead to one of my
- 15:08Speaker 1: favorite moments near the end, when I think it's lou
- 15:11Speaker 1: Lane comes and said I wrote that song, and they're
- 15:13Speaker 1: all like, whoa, I love that.
- 15:15Speaker 3: Well, why do we sell our song cash? But cash money,
- 15:19Speaker 3: money money. That's probably my favorite moment. Oh, I love money.
- 15:24Speaker 3: That was great. I think that did a really good
- 15:26Speaker 3: job my favorite. Let's jump in a favorite moment. Yeah,
- 15:30Speaker 3: so that was. That was probably just about my top moment, oh,
- 15:32Speaker 3: cash cash money.
- 15:36Speaker 1: I wonder if I've used the wrong pins to put
- 15:38Speaker 1: trivia quick because I've doubled up the trivia question the
- 15:40Speaker 1: favorite moment here, so let me get my brain in
- 15:43Speaker 1: order favorite moments.
- 15:44Speaker 3: I like the femur gig of course that was Did
- 15:47Speaker 3: I see that coming at all?
- 15:49Speaker 1: Nor did I?
- 15:50Speaker 3: And it felt as when people who do despicable things
- 15:53Speaker 3: get get yeah yeah, get hoisted on their own batad
- 15:57Speaker 3: Classic Simpsons.
- 15:58Speaker 1: One might say, I you that a whole lot Champagne comedy.
- 16:03Speaker 1: I initially had this as a favorite moment, but I
- 16:05Speaker 1: then repurposed the trivia questions so I could have my three.
- 16:09Speaker 1: So I'll skip ahead two. Yeah, the chicksia on what
- 16:15Speaker 1: I just thought it was very, very funny. Daddy's Back
- 16:17Speaker 1: is a good song. Oh that's the thing. So one
- 16:20Speaker 1: of the things I love the most about Colonel Homer
- 16:22Speaker 1: was the country music because I wasn't raised on country music.
- 16:24Speaker 1: I obviously loved the pop song, the Spy Scales and
- 16:26Speaker 1: the Backstreet Boys, but my dad has always been a
- 16:29Speaker 1: huge country music fan. A lot of my family have
- 16:30Speaker 1: loved country music, so I've got that connection with country music.
- 16:33Speaker 1: The songs in our original Colonel Homer episode, the songs
- 16:35Speaker 1: in this one aren't as good as that, but I
- 16:37Speaker 1: thought it was just nice. They still had new songs
- 16:40Speaker 1: in eide that are really catchy. Oh yeah, Daddy, he said,
- 16:43Speaker 1: a great song. When I think about Colonel Homer, I mean,
- 16:45Speaker 1: the first thing that brings to mind is just the lines,
- 16:48Speaker 1: like the season's turning around for me now I finally
- 16:50Speaker 1: bagged me home great.
- 16:52Speaker 3: Lyric Yeah, catchy tune. Yeah, I would recommend, but I
- 16:56Speaker 3: never really like bunk with me. That was fine, But
- 16:57Speaker 3: what's the one who sings at the end? She knows
- 17:01Speaker 3: just lucky. It's like, oh shit on crying. So yeah,
- 17:05Speaker 3: Daddy's back and continues in the tradision. It's a pretty
- 17:08Speaker 3: nifty song and they use her songs in this episode
- 17:10Speaker 3: as a device to further the story as well.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Absolutely yeah, absolutely uh. And I guess the thing I
- 17:15Speaker 1: like most was a very nice positive message given by
- 17:19Speaker 1: Marge Lulin. You're not a door mat, you're a door prize.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Good on here.
- 17:24Speaker 1: Yeah, everybody take that into account.
- 17:27Speaker 3: They're on board. A very positive episode this is and
- 17:31Speaker 3: that everyone who deserves to get the comments gets the
- 17:33Speaker 3: come umments. Anderline gets the I like that Marge gets
- 17:37Speaker 3: into at the end because I'm just like Marg even
- 17:39Speaker 3: got her moment. She was just like, I've helped you
- 17:41Speaker 3: get on your way if you fucking come back. So
- 17:45Speaker 3: they were my favorite moments, always said about most of mine.
- 17:48Speaker 3: The one we haven't touched on yet is my day
- 17:50Speaker 3: it starts tomorrow. It felt like we're that, but was
- 17:55Speaker 3: say that, But I just I just love my day
- 17:57Speaker 3: it starts tomorrow. How many times we said that to
- 17:58Speaker 3: ourself last week? And then I had a sisage roll
- 18:02Speaker 3: for lunch. It's like tens ten to ten dollars my
- 18:06Speaker 3: day it starts tomorrow. I felt terrible, Well the same
- 18:10Speaker 3: I felt terrible.
- 18:10Speaker 1: What I felt great? I was doing some shopping last night.
- 18:13Speaker 1: I need to pick up some things and I'm in
- 18:14Speaker 1: the frozen fruit section, and of course they.
- 18:16Speaker 3: See limited clearance about fifty.
- 18:21Speaker 1: Well this was limited time only, but it was like, uh,
- 18:26Speaker 1: popcorn chicken, but with like a Thaie coconut flavor.
- 18:30Speaker 3: They get you with the extra flavors, don't they.
- 18:31Speaker 1: I really do.
- 18:33Speaker 3: What do these potato chips for you? All these novelty
- 18:35Speaker 3: flavors and still.
- 18:36Speaker 1: Is to something great. I'm weaning myself off the potato chips.
- 18:40Speaker 1: But yeah with the popcorn chickens, like hmm tai coconut flavor,
- 18:45Speaker 1: you say, and they're only little, They're really little.
- 18:47Speaker 3: I can I live in the future some, of course
- 18:49Speaker 3: I did. I got home and I whacked them in
- 18:50Speaker 3: the air fire. These are really good, serving size tenpeed back.
- 18:55Speaker 3: I'll take ten.
- 18:58Speaker 4: Now.
- 18:58Speaker 1: I gotta buy mayonnaise and sweet.
- 19:00Speaker 3: What are your dips for popcorn chicken? My dips aolich
- 19:05Speaker 3: and mustard. These were so special that I just had.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Them naked, really and they weren't bad. Yeah I could
- 19:10Speaker 1: have I'll make up a dipping sauce for next time.
- 19:14Speaker 3: Limited. It's like I walk by now and I fought
- 19:18Speaker 3: for the one I always ran about. Have the half
- 19:21Speaker 3: priced sales. That's how they get you. I will buy down.
- 19:22Speaker 3: I'm like, I'm just looking for the half priced take
- 19:25Speaker 3: you got me. I'm the one that I know what
- 19:27Speaker 3: you do it in Your stuff's still falling for.
- 19:28Speaker 1: Hi, it's me. I'm the problem this man, even though
- 19:32Speaker 1: you're the problem supermarkets. Though, I was happy because I
- 19:36Speaker 1: went to Ali in my favorite Halloomi curzo burgers were back,
- 19:39Speaker 1: So like, I bought two and I'm gonna go back
- 19:41Speaker 1: to and put them in the freezer.
- 19:44Speaker 3: Next question, you there eating the paste? Okay, it is
- 19:47Speaker 3: now trivia time, mister Davis. You hit me with your
- 19:50Speaker 3: first question. Please, okay.
- 19:51Speaker 1: Then Lisa has three a merit badges. Oh damn it?
- 19:56Speaker 3: Three bucks? Is how much of the class? That was
- 19:57Speaker 3: my first question. That's true, Tree bade.
- 20:04Speaker 1: All part of my grand scheme. She has three merit badges.
- 20:07Speaker 3: What are they for? She even mentions one of them.
- 20:09Speaker 3: I can't remember what it is.
- 20:10Speaker 1: It They are four skepticisms, that's the one. She mentions, Yeah,
- 20:13Speaker 1: apple polishing and vegetarianism. Okay, correct, So I ruined my
- 20:17Speaker 1: first one thirty dollars for three boxes or ten dollars
- 20:19Speaker 1: a box?
- 20:20Speaker 3: What is so? It says the emergency town meeting. What
- 20:25Speaker 3: does it say? Oh, it's.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Is it Hospitals of FIM and you.
- 20:29Speaker 3: Choose, you decide?
- 20:30Speaker 1: Yeah, reminding us too much of Geelong.
- 20:38Speaker 3: A lot of this feels like classic Simpsons that you
- 20:40Speaker 3: think it really does. Yeah, I mean it had its
- 20:44Speaker 3: moments being I didn't need that, but the suicide acts
- 20:46Speaker 3: could have done without that, right, Yeah, I think.
- 20:48Speaker 1: That was the other one.
- 20:49Speaker 3: I'm like, eh, yeah, and homergoing to how can I
- 20:53Speaker 3: abandon my family? You don't need those games.
- 20:56Speaker 1: But the Simpson always works best when it's a small
- 20:58Speaker 1: town comedy.
- 20:59Speaker 3: So, Bob, yes, I love I always go back to
- 21:02Speaker 3: Radio Bart with a good old fashion hold dig and
- 21:04Speaker 3: a lot of them when the whole town is getting
- 21:05Speaker 3: together and doing something. They're all looking for Lurline. But yeah,
- 21:07Speaker 3: continue your next question.
- 21:09Speaker 1: My next question. When Lureline is dropped off at the underpass,
- 21:13Speaker 1: there is one of those so and so for so
- 21:15Speaker 1: and so, you know when you had your first love
- 21:18Speaker 1: And you're right, So.
- 21:20Speaker 3: I did see Alberto. I didn't see the other one
- 21:22Speaker 3: with her. Yeah, they were initials. You don't remember.
- 21:24Speaker 1: It was cr for kW.
- 21:27Speaker 3: I trying to think that any Simpson's characters ce r
- 21:31Speaker 3: see Montgomery Burns c r okay for dw was it
- 21:36Speaker 3: kW kW okay? All right? My next question for you
- 21:40Speaker 3: is how much did lurline oh originally and what did
- 21:44Speaker 3: it become?
- 21:46Speaker 1: Was it one hundred thousand dollars fifty k fifty k?
- 21:48Speaker 3: Okay?
- 21:49Speaker 1: Then and became I don't remember.
- 21:51Speaker 3: Based on that math. What did I say at the
- 21:55Speaker 3: top of the episode, five million dollars?
- 21:58Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, that's that's almost as much as we
- 22:01Speaker 1: make from Patreon almost.
- 22:05Speaker 3: Quick wake up with dreaming a couple of zeros, cut.
- 22:09Speaker 1: Off a couple of zeros. My final question for you,
- 22:12Speaker 1: what does Chief Wigham call Lulene.
- 22:15Speaker 3: When he's up on the Patsy Crime.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Patsy Crime initially one of my favorite moments, but I'm like,
- 22:20Speaker 1: I can't come in with two true questions. I'm going
- 22:22Speaker 1: to come in with three, So yeah, change that.
- 22:25Speaker 3: I also like to look, why did you chop off
- 22:26Speaker 3: the roof?
- 22:27Speaker 1: Chief once?
- 22:31Speaker 3: All right, let's get into our review eyes before we
- 22:32Speaker 3: do it.
- 22:33Speaker 1: Stone cutters cut some stones stone cutters, starting, of course,
- 22:45Speaker 1: with the lovely Lady herself.
- 22:46Speaker 3: katG Okag's on holiday at the moment.
- 22:49Speaker 1: Is she really it seems like she's either sending pictures
- 22:53Speaker 1: to social media from either the top of the country
- 22:55Speaker 1: or some other part of the world. Okay anyway, but
- 22:57Speaker 1: enjoy your holiday, Katy G. I hope that we're in
- 23:00Speaker 1: your ears while you are elsewhere.
- 23:01Speaker 3: If not, hope you and joined us whenever you do
- 23:03Speaker 3: listen to this show.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Katy G.
- 23:04Speaker 3: Yes, kdy G with a one hundred dollar sport. Thank
- 23:06Speaker 3: you so much. Andrew's, of course, with his fifty dollars support.
- 23:09Speaker 1: Let's story a little love to Andrew.
- 23:10Speaker 3: We will.
- 23:11Speaker 1: We're talking about Katy G a lot, and deservedly so.
- 23:12Speaker 1: But Andrews what a lord.
- 23:14Speaker 3: He's an absolute legend. Yeah, of course. Also Zach Truitt,
- 23:17Speaker 3: who's going to be starting a Malcolm in the Middle
- 23:19Speaker 3: podcast soon to look out for that on the four
- 23:21Speaker 3: Fire discount network.
- 23:22Speaker 1: The future is then, old man, call it that get
- 23:27Speaker 1: me just so I can say that that's and you
- 23:30Speaker 1: can leave now.
- 23:30Speaker 3: Guy, who are you remember this? Cut that out?
- 23:37Speaker 5: You might remember that you might remember me from podcasts.
- 23:41Speaker 5: Cut that out over such deleted clips some podcasts. As
- 23:46Speaker 5: Also our man Andrew Swan it's just recently moved house
- 23:50Speaker 5: and his internet's been playing up so having access to
- 23:52Speaker 5: his plex at the moment.
- 23:52Speaker 3: Soy, I mean, have you been paying attention with that
- 23:54Speaker 3: in the ads? No, You're gonna.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Have to rely on my pleasures, like why is guy
- 23:58Speaker 1: watching these weird European sex movies are Ronning Tales, Acceptance
- 24:04Speaker 1: Tales with an I c Ai ls Sonic snuff.
- 24:08Speaker 6: Film anyway, Also the following people Jonathan Rossi, Rach Beasley,
- 24:16Speaker 6: Stephen Roberts, Sewn Dvi, Pete Anderson, Timothy Belson, Andrew Davis,
- 24:21Speaker 6: Ryan Dunlap, Kevin Dentel, Planed Flood, Shannon.
- 24:24Speaker 3: Hofer, Bella Window Bank, Jack McFadden, Heath Appleby, Adrick McLeod,
- 24:27Speaker 3: Lewis Kavanaugh, Matralivinrhyese, Roberts, Ginger and Pickle Preston, Murray, tale, Enriquez,
- 24:33Speaker 3: Jake Mersado, Declan Phoenix, Brian McCoy, Josh Hallier, Logan b
- 24:37Speaker 3: James Shepard, Joe Read and Sect, Dave Pretzels McNally, Gavin Lane,
- 24:40Speaker 3: and Damian Miller. Thinks so much guys have been Top
- 24:42Speaker 3: tier Stonecutter supporters are here at the four Finger discat network.
- 24:45Speaker 3: Remember if you do join up during the month, but
- 24:47Speaker 3: no top tea supporter but you do support us on
- 24:49Speaker 3: a lower tier, you get your name right out at
- 24:50Speaker 3: the end of the month.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Indeed, I'm on record as saying the song was the
- 24:53Speaker 1: ultimate humble bragg and not one that I necessarily like.
- 24:56Speaker 1: But you guys are the wind beneath our wings?
- 24:58Speaker 3: Do you want to sing a bit of more popular
- 25:00Speaker 3: Don't Leach is a play on as.
- 25:01Speaker 1: Well Papa Don't Preach She's in trouble deep.
- 25:05Speaker 3: Well, least favorite Madonna song of her biggest hits. I've
- 25:08Speaker 3: never liked Papa Don't Preach. No No just gets annoying
- 25:11Speaker 3: to me. I'm just something. There's some songs you know
- 25:14Speaker 3: are good songs, but for me, another one is Living
- 25:17Speaker 3: on a Prayer. I can live without it. I know
- 25:19Speaker 3: it's an absolute banger of a song. I'm not saying
- 25:22Speaker 3: it's a bad song. It's just I just don't like it.
- 25:24Speaker 1: Well, it's like Piano Man for Billy Joels.
- 25:26Speaker 3: That's probably my least favorite hit of his. Yeah, I
- 25:30Speaker 3: just don't get it. I don't. I know it's a
- 25:33Speaker 3: great song, I can't get it. I get we're coming
- 25:35Speaker 3: from Living on a Prayer.
- 25:36Speaker 1: I can kind of live with because, yeah, it's one
- 25:38Speaker 1: you can really bud along to the chorus with and
- 25:41Speaker 1: the story of Tommy and Gina seems, I don't know,
- 25:43Speaker 1: kind of sweet to me. Um, Papa, don't preach, Papa, don't.
- 25:47Speaker 3: Preach is fine by me. It's okay.
- 25:49Speaker 1: I remember the film clip more than I remember the Yeah, okay,
- 25:52Speaker 1: you know where she's got the sort of the big
- 25:56Speaker 1: bruising Italian daddy.
- 25:57Speaker 3: I think it's Danny.
- 25:57Speaker 1: I elo am, I gonna tell this guy I'm knocked
- 26:01Speaker 1: up and he turns out to be an okay guy,
- 26:06Speaker 1: and even the guy who knocked her up, Like, I'm
- 26:07Speaker 1: sticking around your Madonna.
- 26:08Speaker 3: What is your favorite Madonna song?
- 26:11Speaker 1: I am very partial to Ray of Light.
- 26:13Speaker 3: Really yeah. I like that when I was wanted for
- 26:15Speaker 3: my childhood that, yeah, it's fine. When I was a
- 26:18Speaker 3: kid that I was like, here is this lady? Is
- 26:20Speaker 3: this old lady?
- 26:23Speaker 1: There's one that I like called Live to Tell Okay.
- 26:27Speaker 1: It's from the sound side from a single. It's from
- 26:31Speaker 1: the soundtrack of a movie called At Close Range The
- 26:34Speaker 1: Sean Pen and my man Chris b Walkin. Really good movie,
- 26:37Speaker 1: really sort of gritty crime drama. And I think she
- 26:39Speaker 1: was married to Sean Penn at the time.
- 26:40Speaker 3: Too.
- 26:40Speaker 1: It's like, give you guys a bit of a hand
- 26:42Speaker 1: by recording a song for your Pierre outro.
- 26:46Speaker 3: It's a good song. Yeah. I've always just liked like
- 26:48Speaker 3: a Virgin and like a prayer. There are two obvious ones,
- 26:51Speaker 3: I know, but like a Prayer is a great one. Yeah. Yeah,
- 26:53Speaker 3: and just like a Virgin. I don't know, it's just
- 26:56Speaker 3: it's so boppy.
- 26:58Speaker 1: I forgot probably my favorite of the dance numbers. Oh,
- 27:00Speaker 1: actually a dance no no, into the groove okay, yeah,
- 27:05Speaker 1: I love into the group. That's a fantastic song.
- 27:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I know it's similar era and nothing to do
- 27:10Speaker 3: with Madonna. I never get sick of hearing I want
- 27:13Speaker 3: to Dance with somebody come on the radio. This morning.
- 27:15Speaker 3: I was like, this is what you call a fucking
- 27:17Speaker 3: great song.
- 27:18Speaker 1: It's a really good song.
- 27:18Speaker 3: It's a really sweet song. It is what I mean.
- 27:20Speaker 3: It's kind of like name.
- 27:22Speaker 1: It's almost like something you hear in the fifties. I
- 27:24Speaker 1: was like, I'm gotta take my best girl to the
- 27:26Speaker 1: Mulch Show and maybe later we can jitterbug. Do I
- 27:29Speaker 1: want to dance without it? I was like, you can't
- 27:32Speaker 1: be unhappy when this had to put on the Tray Parkertoy.
- 27:35Speaker 3: But it's a really sweet song.
- 27:36Speaker 1: And you look at you know, Whitney in the film
- 27:39Speaker 1: call which you singing, she's yeah, young, fresh faced, beautiful.
- 27:42Speaker 1: It's like, oh man, you got everything ahead of you.
- 27:44Speaker 1: And then yeah, well it happened.
- 27:46Speaker 3: It happened.
- 27:47Speaker 1: Yeah, life happened.
- 27:49Speaker 3: Speaking of what happened this episode, which put a.
- 27:51Speaker 1: Smile on my dial and because Dander was smiling.
- 27:55Speaker 3: Beverly Dangelo returns as Learning Loa, which we discussed was
- 27:58Speaker 3: a great choice. I'm glad that they waited until she
- 28:01Speaker 3: was available to do this because they've had times where
- 28:04Speaker 3: characters return and they've had to not have the actual
- 28:06Speaker 3: original voice acted, couldn't have the time to voice or whatever,
- 28:08Speaker 3: and it's like, doesn't quite feel the same. This reminded
- 28:11Speaker 3: me this episode remember the Ziff who Came to Dinner
- 28:13Speaker 3: where Artie returned as a sequel and they got John
- 28:16Speaker 3: loved and it was a really good episode. This felt
- 28:19Speaker 3: similar to me. This was sort of like, because that
- 28:21Speaker 3: was a guy who was getting in between margin Homer,
- 28:22Speaker 3: this is the woman who got in between margin Homer.
- 28:24Speaker 3: It's almost like the Marge version of the si If
- 28:26Speaker 3: he came to Dinner in my opinion. Sorry, I'm just
- 28:30Speaker 3: looking something up real quick. Yeah, I've got here. The Chicks,
- 28:32Speaker 3: the Dixie Chicks in their God the chicks I thought
- 28:34Speaker 3: they were.
- 28:35Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, sort of all stuff related to Dixie, the
- 28:40Speaker 1: Confederate South, all that kind of. It's funny that Royce
- 28:42Speaker 1: Lumpkin actually has the Confederates.
- 28:45Speaker 3: No child support, and then when he's rich, he's got
- 28:49Speaker 3: the same ship, but it's got lives blitter.
- 28:52Speaker 1: What do you call that the I guess it's called
- 28:56Speaker 1: the Union.
- 28:56Speaker 3: Flag, the Union yeah, yeah, yeah, the Confederate flag, I
- 28:59Speaker 3: mean Confederate fly.
- 29:00Speaker 1: Yeah, sorry, not the Union flag like you just fucked
- 29:04Speaker 1: up the Civil War.
- 29:07Speaker 3: The Southern flag, yes, yeah, it used to be on
- 29:10Speaker 3: the top of the dukes of Hazard's car. Yeah.
- 29:13Speaker 1: Again, that's the thing that wouldn't It's not really passes,
- 29:16Speaker 1: doesn't really pass master these days, doesn't really pass the
- 29:18Speaker 1: smell test, and neither does the term Dixie in all honesty.
- 29:20Speaker 1: So yeah, they just cut it off their name and
- 29:22Speaker 1: now they're just the checks. By the way, I just
- 29:24Speaker 1: wanted to you mentioned Beverly D'Angelo. It's funny that he
- 29:28Speaker 1: called her Patsy Crime. I mentioned the movie Cold Marner's
- 29:31Speaker 1: daughter earlier about Loretta Lynn. Yeah, Beverly Angelie played Patsy
- 29:35Speaker 1: Klin in that movie. So there we go.

- 30:41Speaker 1: Papa, Don't Let's Talk about It.
- 30:42Speaker 3: Original air day was April thirteenth, two thousand and eight,
- 30:44Speaker 3: written by Reid Harrison, the last episode he wrote before
- 30:47Speaker 3: so he passed away two thousand and this year, actually
- 30:49Speaker 3: in January this year, passed away. He also wrote The
- 30:51Speaker 3: Springfield Files, one of my favorite episodes of all time.
- 30:53Speaker 1: He's got some bangers on his resumek.
- 30:55Speaker 3: Yeah, and Chris Comments was the director. So the episode
- 30:57Speaker 3: starts off with we don't realize it's a but it's
- 31:00Speaker 3: actually a dream. Homer and Grandpa are driving at night,
- 31:03Speaker 3: and I just thought there was a lot of funny
- 31:05Speaker 3: zingers in here. So the you sure you can drive
- 31:07Speaker 3: it night? It's not And it's him going through the
- 31:09Speaker 3: because he plays the Tommy Dorsey's White Orchestra, All White Orchestra.
- 31:16Speaker 2: Yeah, are you sure you're okay to drive at night?
- 31:18Speaker 3: It's night? All right?
- 31:19Speaker 2: That pullover now, don't you worry. Just sit back and
- 31:23Speaker 2: relax to the smooth sounds of Tommy Dorsey's All White Orchestra.
- 31:29Speaker 4: Done.
- 31:30Speaker 2: Let this music take you to a time when girls
- 31:32Speaker 2: were girls in a Hirshey bar was as stick as
- 31:35Speaker 2: a phone book. I'm sick of it song. I don't
- 31:40Speaker 2: like this one either, too optimistic, too slow, too fast,
- 31:45Speaker 2: no dads, too much, says her. Boogie less, woogie, my
- 31:50Speaker 2: back hurt.
- 31:50Speaker 1: Oh my friends are dead.
- 31:52Speaker 3: But then Patty and Salo are driving off the cliff.
- 31:54Speaker 3: I guess in the sense we can go it's a dream,
- 31:57Speaker 3: so none of this actually is well.
- 31:58Speaker 1: Also, the Simpsons is by it's nature cartoonish. Ye could
- 32:01Speaker 1: probably buy if this actually did happen.
- 32:03Speaker 3: Yes, I actually liked the four repeating over and over again.
- 32:07Speaker 3: It's just stops felt classic. Yes, Homer ends up killing
- 32:11Speaker 3: Grandpa because he doesn't have to have him lived with
- 32:14Speaker 3: him and things like that, and I went, that's a
- 32:15Speaker 3: bit much. Forgot that it was a reference to the
- 32:17Speaker 3: Sopranos scene in the last season as a huge moment
- 32:20Speaker 3: where something happens very similar to this, And yeah, I
- 32:24Speaker 3: get what they were referencing there, although I don't think
- 32:27Speaker 3: at the time it would have felt relevant. I just
- 32:29Speaker 3: whilst the surprise were huge at the time, I don't
- 32:32Speaker 3: think in twenty twenty four it's timeless, like some of
- 32:34Speaker 3: the stuff they did in parodies of Indiana Jones and
- 32:36Speaker 3: whatnot in the in the earlier of The Simpsons, you know,
- 32:39Speaker 3: just it feels like, oh, I see you doing that,
- 32:42Speaker 3: but we're watching it now twenty twenty four, like, well,
- 32:44Speaker 3: that's a horrible thing to do.
- 32:45Speaker 1: But then at the same time, and when we've talked
- 32:46Speaker 1: about references and shoutouts and homages that the Simpsons will
- 32:50Speaker 1: do that aren't necessarily I mean they yeah, do India
- 32:53Speaker 1: the Jones stuff style, will stuff well, stuff that's really
- 32:55Speaker 1: popular and really well known. But occasionally it'll be oh,
- 32:58Speaker 1: that's a reference to That's an interesting.
- 33:00Speaker 3: Reference, And but they make it obvious that this is
- 33:02Speaker 3: something you go, I know, this is something.
- 33:05Speaker 1: That's true, Like when they say, do a bit of
- 33:07Speaker 1: on Hitchcock's Burdigo, and it's like, my camera angle is
- 33:10Speaker 1: so weird that it has to be a reference to something. Yeah,
- 33:13Speaker 1: you're right. This doesn't necessarily feel so blatant that you're
- 33:19Speaker 1: going to go, oh, it's that, or ah, this must
- 33:21Speaker 1: be something right, Yeah.
- 33:23Speaker 3: And it's just because you know, we've.
- 33:26Speaker 1: We're you know, in the Weeds of season nineteen, here
- 33:29Speaker 1: in the weeds of this sort of era where weeds,
- 33:32Speaker 1: we're in the weeds where you know, there have been
- 33:37Speaker 1: gags that are off color or abrasive or.
- 33:42Speaker 3: You're trying to be family go right, Yeah, yeah, so
- 33:44Speaker 3: we can do this too, you guys.
- 33:46Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like, oh, okay, so this is you being edgy.
- 33:50Speaker 3: You could you could buy it one hundred percent. Yeah,
- 33:52Speaker 3: And I just think they needed to follow it up
- 33:53Speaker 3: with Homer feeling showing some sort of remorse for killing Grandpa,
- 33:56Speaker 3: him being happy that he killed can not read if
- 33:59Speaker 3: I'm wrong. Was he driving the car when he had
- 34:00Speaker 3: a sleep, That's right, It wakes up when he was driving, right,
- 34:02Speaker 3: he drives off again? And yeah, anyway, so he's driving
- 34:06Speaker 3: with Lisa. She's selling or dropping off her Scout gallic
- 34:08Speaker 3: cookies to the people who purchased them. So clearly he's
- 34:12Speaker 3: already ordered them and paid for them while she be
- 34:14Speaker 3: dropping them off. She's here's your Scout gol cookies, may quimby. Yeah,
- 34:19Speaker 3: wouldn't she already collected the money? Bad business model?
- 34:21Speaker 1: If you Yeah, have you have you ever bought cookies
- 34:26Speaker 1: from someone coming to your door?
- 34:27Speaker 3: Like yeah, but they don't give those cookies until you're
- 34:28Speaker 3: given them money, Like it's not like, yeah, I'll take
- 34:31Speaker 3: your order. That's why I always feel like when I
- 34:33Speaker 3: call up a piece of shop or a Chinese shop
- 34:35Speaker 3: or fish and chip shop, I wonder how often they
- 34:38Speaker 3: get orders and the people just don't rock up because
- 34:41Speaker 3: they're just trusting you. You know, I'll have you know,
- 34:45Speaker 3: I'm ordering like forty dollars worth of food. These guys
- 34:47Speaker 3: are going to cook it up and just hope that
- 34:49Speaker 3: we come.
- 34:50Speaker 1: It seems like a bad business model, especially when you
- 34:52Speaker 1: say delivered the icy wienery.
- 34:55Speaker 3: But when I'm ordering for a pickup, You're just going
- 34:59Speaker 3: to trust the caller.
- 35:00Speaker 1: That's true.
- 35:00Speaker 3: I don't know if I could run a business based
- 35:02Speaker 3: off trust like that. I just do you think you
- 35:06Speaker 3: trust that I show up to talk ship? I know that,
- 35:10Speaker 3: But just if you were running a business and someone
- 35:11Speaker 3: caught up and said, I want to order eight large pizzas? Right,
- 35:14Speaker 3: would you start cooking those eight lge pizzas unless they'd
- 35:16Speaker 3: page you first. It's usually you're usually getting some, if
- 35:21Speaker 3: not monetary details. You're usually getting well, a contact number.
- 35:25Speaker 3: Aren't you even trusted giving you the right number? I
- 35:28Speaker 3: guess yeah, we're dealing with modern phones where the number
- 35:31Speaker 3: sometimes comes up hopefully. Yeah, I'm I'm trying to be
- 35:34Speaker 3: glass half all here. We said, there's outside kindsbury glass
- 35:37Speaker 3: half full because.
- 35:38Speaker 1: I think we went out for dinner and I was
- 35:40Speaker 1: like the poop was really good.
- 35:42Speaker 3: It was like the service was terrible, and all this happened.
- 35:44Speaker 3: I sounded like Leu and Nickel are the same person,
- 35:46Speaker 3: never happy when we go out. Why do you bring me.
- 35:51Speaker 1: Out here again? I told you we could stay in.
- 35:58Speaker 1: I don't want to go on.
- 35:59Speaker 3: But she drop it off scatcher cookies to make Quimby,
- 36:00Speaker 3: who'spparently ordered three boxes for thirty dollars. So he checks
- 36:03Speaker 3: the town treasury to try and find some money, but
- 36:04Speaker 3: it's completely empty. We'll get their obligatory gay joke here
- 36:08Speaker 3: where he says, if you don't give any cookies, I'll
- 36:10Speaker 3: pass the legislation to allow gay Scout leaders into your industry.
- 36:14Speaker 3: I'd support that. Blah blah blah. In the end, it
- 36:17Speaker 3: is that Lisa won't give the cookies. He has no money.
- 36:19Speaker 3: The town is emergency town meeting because the town's got
- 36:21Speaker 3: no money left. So are they really broke or A. O. J.
- 36:23Speaker 3: Simpson broke as Mo brings up, and they really broke
- 36:26Speaker 3: his cheap novelty what they called gabble gable yes, I've
- 36:29Speaker 3: got gaggle here. I'm like, that's not the word. I
- 36:31Speaker 3: know it sounds like that, but yeah, gavel and gabble, yes,
- 36:34Speaker 3: gavel gable, gable, he's making the squeaky party sounds. Yes.
- 36:39Speaker 3: But then Homer with his hat, hat on heart.
- 36:42Speaker 1: I know this isn't exactly what they're referencing, but there's
- 36:45Speaker 1: kind of a meme going around. If someone wants to
- 36:48Speaker 1: make a quote unquote controversial statement, they'll use this pictures
- 36:51Speaker 1: And it's a painted by Norman Rockwell of this guy
- 36:54Speaker 1: standing up in like a town meeting or something, and
- 36:57Speaker 1: he's like the one man speaking. It's the power. It's
- 37:00Speaker 1: like dress dress and workingman gear.
- 37:02Speaker 3: What are you talking about?
- 37:03Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I may not know much about your your
- 37:06Speaker 1: your big city politics, but I know what's right wrong,
- 37:10Speaker 1: And it'll be like something like I think is hot.
- 37:16Speaker 3: Preach, but I was pitching, we've all up past sleeves
- 37:21Speaker 3: and we fake a disaster the federal government into giving
- 37:25Speaker 3: us some relief money. And they all said, yep, we
- 37:27Speaker 3: should do that, and then of course it's the fake FEMA.
- 37:30Speaker 7: Now, when exactly did the hurricane pass through your town
- 37:34Speaker 7: five minutes ago? You just missed it.
- 37:36Speaker 3: FEMA will help you rebuild this town. Your first ten
- 37:41Speaker 3: million dollars will arrive as soon as you submit this
- 37:44Speaker 3: form and the twenty five hundred dollars processing fee.
- 37:50Speaker 2: And chowey fake FEMA official scam doo shot at twenty
- 37:53Speaker 2: five hundred dollars.
- 37:54Speaker 1: We are now worse than broke.
- 37:56Speaker 3: What a great twist. It's just that spent a whole
- 37:59Speaker 3: week sent.
- 38:03Speaker 1: This is probably I've forgotten the line that it was like,
- 38:06Speaker 1: we are now we got ripped up by that fake
- 38:09Speaker 1: FEMA guy and now we are officially broken.
- 38:11Speaker 3: I think this is the most Smartsworter gag we've had
- 38:13Speaker 3: in years. It's really great.
- 38:15Speaker 1: It's probably the highlight of the.
- 38:16Speaker 3: Episode because I thought, when he goes and you ten
- 38:19Speaker 3: million dollars just when you paid this twenty five hundred,
- 38:21Speaker 3: I thought, Oh, that's just damn taking the mickey out
- 38:22Speaker 3: of the government. Oh yeah, you got to give something
- 38:24Speaker 3: back to get something return. Nope, you just got ripped off.
- 38:29Speaker 3: They're now worse than broke. And Lisa realized she went
- 38:32Speaker 3: through the records and there's millions of dollars in uncolanted taxes.
- 38:37Speaker 3: No first listening, We just looked at the camera.
- 38:43Speaker 1: Not me because I had my birthday of the day
- 38:47Speaker 1: and the taxman decided to give me a gift my
- 38:49Speaker 1: account and got in touch on my birthday and said, okay,
- 38:51Speaker 1: we've done your things. Here's a nice return for you.
- 38:54Speaker 3: Are you got a return?
- 38:55Speaker 1: I did.
- 38:55Speaker 3: I had to pay because this is a business. Now
- 38:57Speaker 3: I have to pay twelve grand. What the yeah, but
- 39:00Speaker 3: there's a business now.
- 39:01Speaker 1: It's twelve round that could go into our pockets.
- 39:02Speaker 3: Yeah, pay, I'll pay you then paid extra twelve grand
- 39:06Speaker 3: tax half my bunney.
- 39:09Speaker 1: Half of that's not adding up half of that.
- 39:12Speaker 3: I disapprove. That's just like a ship. But it's another
- 39:18Speaker 3: that is a drag. I'm sorry to hear. The beauties
- 39:22Speaker 3: have started a business.
- 39:24Speaker 1: It'll all payoff in there.
- 39:25Speaker 3: Yes, a thousand dollars a month and paying back to
- 39:28Speaker 3: tax man. Oh my goodness. But Lisa, yes, I said,
- 39:32Speaker 3: all unclect the tax he goes through. We're clicked from
- 39:34Speaker 3: everybody from Exkiffs, Burns, Reguard to Quimby. And then there's
- 39:40Speaker 3: news report here. Even Brockman had to pay taxes. But
- 39:43Speaker 3: there's only one person left. It was Blowlin Lumpkin, who
- 39:46Speaker 3: originally was famous and she didn't pay taxes. It was
- 39:48Speaker 3: originally fifty thousand, now it's twelve million. And they showed
- 39:51Speaker 3: a clip of when she was on The Muppet Show
- 39:53Speaker 3: singing to Kermit, singing the bump with me, Miss Piggy.
- 39:55Speaker 3: This Piggy was always violent.
- 39:57Speaker 1: It's something that has become it's more and more recognized
- 40:01Speaker 1: that this was an abusive relationship.
- 40:03Speaker 3: You'd always be going, I don't want to get married, Josh,
- 40:05Speaker 3: we are getting married. Run Kermit, run. I know you're
- 40:11Speaker 3: a muppet. You don't have actual legs, but run, yes
- 40:13Speaker 3: the kids. Then no, he's on the bike and the
- 40:15Speaker 3: Muppet Movie, isn't he. That was a great scene. The
- 40:17Speaker 3: way they made that. It was not just him, it
- 40:19Speaker 3: was the entire Mupper cast. Oh and the way they
- 40:21Speaker 3: did it was basically you can watch the making of
- 40:23Speaker 3: It's the way they had to do it, so much effort.
- 40:25Speaker 3: But that one shot makes the Muppets feel real, doesn't it.
- 40:28Speaker 1: That's the thing I remember seeing it as a kid,
- 40:29Speaker 1: Go I forgot buppets are on bikes.
- 40:35Speaker 3: Like the movie.
- 40:37Speaker 1: I'm simultaneously impressed and appalled.
- 40:40Speaker 3: It's like when you know, I always when watch Trussed
- 40:42Speaker 3: part of the first and one. I know all those
- 40:43Speaker 3: other dinsaurs I fake. These ones are real.
- 40:46Speaker 1: This was this guy in the theater watching the Muppet
- 40:49Speaker 1: Movie with Kerman on a bike.
- 40:52Speaker 3: Apologies to Sam Neil, Apologies to listeners. I don't idea
- 40:56Speaker 3: what's going on.
- 40:57Speaker 1: Yeah, but if you're.
- 40:58Speaker 3: Watching this on YouTube, which you should do, you got
- 41:01Speaker 3: a great visual gag. You turn her head to turn
- 41:09Speaker 3: towards towards the cinema like Jack gold I just done
- 41:15Speaker 3: did my shirt. But while we're we talking about other Muppets. Yeah,
- 41:19Speaker 3: so they've announced that that Lerline owes money, so that
- 41:22Speaker 3: all the whole town's looking for her, and she's in
- 41:24Speaker 3: the back of homes car.
- 41:24Speaker 1: It's the pleasure of destroying someone they once admired, save
- 41:27Speaker 1: something from me.
- 41:28Speaker 3: Yes, that's that's what we all love doing, isn't it
- 41:30Speaker 3: It is? Indeed, Yeah, he finds her her crews on
- 41:33Speaker 3: a dawnward spiral. I told her not to do that,
- 41:36Speaker 3: but it finds her in the back of the car.
- 41:37Speaker 3: They hope, says all right, we'll go home. They get home.
- 41:39Speaker 3: We here muffled screaming. Clearly Marge's not okay with this.
- 41:42Speaker 3: Marge's driving it back to where she came from I'm
- 41:44Speaker 3: taking you out of my house before you wreck it,
- 41:46Speaker 3: or taking you back to your house before you wreckon.
- 41:47Speaker 3: Mine realizes that she's actually homeless. They ask her to
- 41:50Speaker 3: change a toilet March as I can't leave her here
- 41:51Speaker 3: doing this takes her back, and she accidently makes a
- 41:54Speaker 3: fat joke towards March because she's a bigger woman than
- 41:56Speaker 3: she is.
- 41:57Speaker 1: Well, yeah, it's not even accidentally joked. Ludlin's trying to
- 42:01Speaker 1: pay her a compliment. Yeah, Marge is just so inclined
- 42:05Speaker 1: to dislike and distrust.
- 42:06Speaker 3: Looking for a fault. Yes, but Leewlin's now cooking barbecue Uline.
- 42:12Speaker 7: This barbecue is delicious.
- 42:14Speaker 4: Oh, it's a traditional Southern recipe, Catcher Cola, inflicacy bars
- 42:19Speaker 4: and jeuz Kid.
- 42:21Speaker 1: It's actually chip double ill.
- 42:23Speaker 3: Well, I think it's wonderful. My diet starts tomorrow.
- 42:27Speaker 2: Listen.
- 42:28Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I can't all those mean things like oh,
- 42:32Speaker 1: I don't even.
- 42:32Speaker 3: Remember confederate, degenerate Southern fried. Then we can find her
- 42:38Speaker 3: because it Patsy Crime jumps off the roof and he
- 42:40Speaker 3: just wanted to be extraordinary. I now at the courthouse,
- 42:43Speaker 3: the science at the front. Yeah, it's like vacancy, no
- 42:45Speaker 3: vacancy that he was no nonsense, Yes, yes, nonsense, was
- 42:52Speaker 3: the bailiff in just a few moments. But he's ordered.
- 42:54Speaker 3: He orders her to pay one hundred dollars a week
- 42:56Speaker 3: until her music is back in style or it is
- 42:59Speaker 3: appreciated for it can't value ye, And then the bailiff
- 43:02Speaker 3: tries to act like the People's Court. If it watched
- 43:03Speaker 3: the People's Court, it is horrific.
- 43:05Speaker 1: No, I never have. But when this was happening, I'm
- 43:08Speaker 1: like this because I don't watch Judge Judy. That your
- 43:11Speaker 1: girlfriend Judge Judy. It's like former, Oh that's okay, It's like,
- 43:16Speaker 1: this is a play on judge duty. But then I
- 43:17Speaker 1: actually mentioned the people's courts. Okay, I guess they're doing
- 43:19Speaker 1: the People's.
- 43:20Speaker 3: Court because I Judge Judy had some ridiculous cases. But
- 43:23Speaker 3: People's Court just felt like, you know, as he says,
- 43:25Speaker 3: he's suing her from not dressing sexy enough.
- 43:27Speaker 1: What was the case call?
- 43:28Speaker 3: Was the case of the I can't remember, but yeah,
- 43:31Speaker 3: but this is what it felt like. And because the
- 43:33Speaker 3: voice of a guy on Judge Judy goes to do
- 43:35Speaker 3: on Judge, he tries to make it sound serious. People's
- 43:38Speaker 3: cause like today you will believe what's going to be
- 43:40Speaker 3: on the show whatever, whatever, And they had the team
- 43:44Speaker 3: Z guy as like the host outside. What do you
- 43:46Speaker 3: think of that case? It gets into walks up to
- 43:48Speaker 3: with a microphone ridiculous. I love that the credits role
- 43:51Speaker 3: of Judge Judy there where they go, So what are
- 43:53Speaker 3: your thoughts on today? I thought Judge Judy made it
- 43:55Speaker 3: a great decision. It is what it is. That's the
- 44:00Speaker 3: frames were lord. You know we always make one we
- 44:08Speaker 3: turn one sentence into one word as gone. Oh ye yeah,
- 44:11Speaker 3: but that that you weren't near. Do you know what
- 44:14Speaker 3: America you can marry your cousin? I found that ou
- 44:16Speaker 3: from Judge Duty last week.
- 44:17Speaker 1: You can do an Australia if you're confident enough.
- 44:20Speaker 3: Legally, there are states where you can marry your cousin.
- 44:22Speaker 3: Because we're watch some case and we went, wait a minute,
- 44:24Speaker 3: they're cousins. What we're getting married? Isn't this illegal? No?
- 44:27Speaker 3: Not illegal? Okay, shall we go married the cousin? Guys flubbergast,
- 44:32Speaker 3: I thought, twenty twenty four, we're still marrying her cousins. Okay,
- 44:35Speaker 3: cool stuff out there on the dating pool, Yeah it is, yeah,
- 44:38Speaker 3: on the tin up anyway, so people's court hasn't gone
- 44:41Speaker 3: Lowland's way. She's spae hundred dolls a week, so she's
- 44:43Speaker 3: getting her job at most. I actually really like, as
- 44:46Speaker 3: racist as it is, if the she tips with Manoel
- 44:51Speaker 3: is a good job, let's just a oh hank. Do
- 44:57Speaker 3: you think that joke would have been funnier had he
- 45:00Speaker 3: just said share it with Manuel? And then he just
- 45:01Speaker 3: put the mustache shop rather than explain and it's just
- 45:05Speaker 3: me with a feet mustache. Do you think you needed
- 45:06Speaker 3: to say that? What do you think would be funny?
- 45:07Speaker 3: You just put on the mustache and pretend to be Manuel.
- 45:09Speaker 3: I think it would have been funnier if he didn't
- 45:12Speaker 3: explain explain it. Yeah, then Lenny and Carl flirt, and
- 45:16Speaker 3: but respectfully yeah, espectfully yes, Lenny and Car. Yes, but
- 45:21Speaker 3: I did like Lenny.
- 45:22Speaker 1: Someone's looking for a snack in the mailbox.
- 45:24Speaker 3: But March couple of she turned, well why does she
- 45:26Speaker 3: hate men so much?
- 45:27Speaker 1: And did that's not like it not liking hamburgers or.
- 45:30Speaker 3: Or hot dogs? Yes, and then she over heres singing
- 45:33Speaker 3: the song about the dead beat daddy given a choice
- 45:35Speaker 3: hamburger or hot dog, hamburger. I don't eat sausages, okay
- 45:39Speaker 3: at all. I haven't eaten this like a sausage, beef sausage,
- 45:42Speaker 3: anything since I was about ten.
- 45:44Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, just never.
- 45:46Speaker 3: I saw a video in school of how the matuslage
- 45:48Speaker 3: and I went, because I'm not eating meals anymore? Did
- 45:52Speaker 3: they not? You're not meant to know how the sausage is.
- 45:55Speaker 3: It would have been year seven. That would have been
- 45:57Speaker 3: twelve to thirteen, year seven science.
- 46:00Speaker 1: When they don't be mistaken, belly a cow would kill
- 46:04Speaker 1: you when everyone you know ask me that question, right,
- 46:09Speaker 1: I prefer the handballs a hot dog? Oh yeah, both.
- 46:16Speaker 3: I got a funny photo Holly, right, I can hold
- 46:20Speaker 3: this up to the camera, not to the viewers of
- 46:21Speaker 3: the listeners, obviously, Holly eating her first hot dog at
- 46:25Speaker 3: the foota the other day. She never had a hot
- 46:26Speaker 3: dog before. Show. Oh one of those, one of those.
- 46:29Speaker 3: She so this is what we get? So where's a photo?
- 46:32Speaker 3: He she is massive hot dog there? Oh my god,
- 46:36Speaker 3: she's sitting there. She's just like, okay, she goes, this
- 46:38Speaker 3: is big because she's looking at she text a bit
- 46:39Speaker 3: and she goes text a bite. She goes smells weird
- 46:47Speaker 3: Nicholas like I just spent eight dollars on a fucking
- 46:49Speaker 3: hot dog. She's like, it smells the okay, so.
- 46:53Speaker 1: You didn't have the normal garbage disposal option of dad
- 46:57Speaker 1: eating it.
- 46:57Speaker 3: No, mum made it. Oh okay, thanks to call my
- 47:00Speaker 3: wife a garbage a spiceful Nikola. I'm just a normal man.
- 47:12Speaker 1: You know he's gonna tell like it is that women
- 47:14Speaker 1: be eaten sad? Cut that out?
- 47:22Speaker 3: Where were we up?
- 47:22Speaker 1: Tos and hot dogs?
- 47:25Speaker 3: Yes? She places us on dead bat daddy of course, Yes,
- 47:27Speaker 3: which is a really sad song, but just a very
- 47:28Speaker 3: country song.
- 47:32Speaker 1: I was crying in my cradle when my daddy hot
- 47:37Speaker 1: the train.
- 47:39Speaker 3: He left a.
- 47:39Speaker 4: Hole in my heart and build it up with fain.
- 47:44Speaker 1: I know, no woman liquor.
- 47:47Speaker 4: We'll soothe my aching chicken. Of course, the love from
- 47:52Speaker 4: a deadbeat daddy is still pumping through my base.
- 48:00Speaker 3: And Homer wants to know how do I abandon my family?
- 48:02Speaker 3: And I thought, we don't need this. This isn't funny.
- 48:04Speaker 3: We know that you think being a joke's cool, but
- 48:07Speaker 3: it's not. Just move on from that ship, but mar
- 48:10Speaker 3: says that she will help her Marge looking for the
- 48:13Speaker 3: various lumpkins in Springfield, including Choe lum Kin. Yes, good luck,
- 48:17Speaker 3: just so I can get their racist Asian voice in there, thinks,
- 48:21Speaker 3: just batting a thousand, just playing the hits. And she
- 48:25Speaker 3: finds Royce with his no child sports shirt and he says,
- 48:28Speaker 3: I haven't seen her since she was a baby, and
- 48:30Speaker 3: she says, she needs to see you, and he's like,
- 48:32Speaker 3: does something to his well.
- 48:33Speaker 1: At first he has to whiskey out those corn flakes.
- 48:35Speaker 3: Yes, orange juice, but that Leolin is now at home.
- 48:39Speaker 3: She wakes up. She hears there's any one person like
- 48:41Speaker 3: a handbone like that. I thought he left when she
- 48:44Speaker 3: was a baby. Maybe I was wrong. How would she
- 48:46Speaker 3: know what he? Hambone's like, Oh, I think that's going
- 48:48Speaker 3: to be a primal memory. Okay, But he says, how
- 48:52Speaker 3: many nights do.
- 48:52Speaker 1: You stand over Elliot's crub when he was a little boy,
- 48:54Speaker 1: saying my son, I want so much for you On
- 48:58Speaker 1: this l like Hambone.
- 49:01Speaker 3: He's like, I want to go back to sleep. Oh
- 49:04Speaker 3: Aliot never slept. Oh it was holy. Holly didn't sleep
- 49:07Speaker 3: an entire night until she was nearly three. Oh my gosh.
- 49:10Speaker 3: We haven't had a full night sleep until she's nearly three.
- 49:12Speaker 3: So three straight years nearly. I was going to comment
- 49:14Speaker 3: on those bags on here, but then Homer says here,
- 49:18Speaker 3: I know that. Dad says here, you're the spitting image
- 49:20Speaker 3: of your mother's hotter sister. She slaps him, and he says,
- 49:23Speaker 3: forgive us, please forgive me the way I forget myself. Yeah,
- 49:27Speaker 3: despicable person.
- 49:28Speaker 1: Like I said, a lot of great lines and just
- 49:32Speaker 1: I don't think he did anything wrong, but I just
- 49:33Speaker 1: would have loved someone to put a bit more of
- 49:35Speaker 1: a fastball on him. Yeah, he's such a he's such
- 49:37Speaker 1: a gross and despicable character that you'd have real fun
- 49:40Speaker 1: with it.
- 49:40Speaker 3: I thought Billy West could have done a good job
- 49:42Speaker 3: with this, howbe he played the the texting guy and
- 49:45Speaker 3: King of the hill oh yeah, really really prickish guy. Yeah,
- 49:49Speaker 3: the rich guy that the mogul.
- 49:52Speaker 1: Yeah, and the fight to get get his business.
- 49:54Speaker 3: Yeah yeah. I always love those for sex sitcom set ups,
- 49:58Speaker 3: trying to win over someone's business. But we just watched
- 49:59Speaker 3: the bad episode. We're trying to get Honda's business. But
- 50:04Speaker 3: Marge is now proud that oh no, she's paid, that
- 50:07Speaker 3: she's made it happen, she's made a dad and whatnot
- 50:10Speaker 3: and home it's just jealous that you know, he's a
- 50:12Speaker 3: dead beet dad and he's gett all his adelation and
- 50:15Speaker 3: I'm just a dad. It's just too lazy to run
- 50:16Speaker 3: and he has Hay, I'm just like enough of this ship.
- 50:19Speaker 3: But need this is it needed? Got the suicide accidentally, by.
- 50:22Speaker 1: The way, I haven't really alluded to it and this
- 50:24Speaker 1: maybe we'll do it at the end. But I did
- 50:26Speaker 1: like the running gag that.
- 50:27Speaker 3: All of exes were variations of home. Yes, well she
- 50:33Speaker 3: mentioned that earlier. Yeah, that's where all the money's gone
- 50:36Speaker 3: to ex husband's. Yeah, we went out the fair and
- 50:38Speaker 3: with the Daddy's Little Girl shirt to in liice little moment.
- 50:40Speaker 3: She goes, I was going to see your face. He goes,
- 50:41Speaker 3: don't worry, I'm never going to leave you again. And
- 50:43Speaker 3: then we get Homer trying to do it with his
- 50:45Speaker 3: kids and it ends up being at Daddy Special Pair.
- 50:48Speaker 3: It was a lot of work for a fine moment
- 50:52Speaker 3: for a B plus payoff. Yes, we're now at dinner
- 50:56Speaker 3: and homos again. Homas is runny, he wants to leave.
- 50:58Speaker 3: He goes, why can't I leave for thirty years? That
- 51:02Speaker 3: why they thought they needed this? I don't know.
- 51:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I hadn't really noticed that they really are throwing
- 51:06Speaker 1: these gangs. I know, yeah, right, No, I know, I
- 51:09Speaker 1: thought you.
- 51:09Speaker 3: I thought I heard something. Did you hear something?
- 51:11Speaker 1: I did?
- 51:11Speaker 3: I heard a voice? Did you hear that?
- 51:14Speaker 1: And I don't think it was coming from me? The
- 51:15Speaker 1: row phones which I muted.
- 51:16Speaker 3: Yeah, they're both muted. That was bizarre because the ghost
- 51:21Speaker 3: spooky ghosts a spooky ghost. But everyone's I'll before that though.
- 51:27Speaker 3: So yeah, but at dinner home is Randy blah blah blah.
- 51:29Speaker 3: Bart's packed his suitcase, he's hat. He thinks he's using
- 51:31Speaker 3: reverse psychology. But then Royce and low Lean arrive and
- 51:34Speaker 3: she plays Daddy's back.
- 51:39Speaker 4: Due usually made me cry. Now, I see you ain't
- 51:44Speaker 4: such a bad guy. I haven't felt this good since
- 51:48Speaker 4: the Lord knows we and I'm sure you got a
- 51:54Speaker 4: million pieasons for being Ghana under twins seasons. But Daddy's back,
- 52:01Speaker 4: and I'm feeling like a doll again. Yeah, Daddy's back,
- 52:08Speaker 4: and I'm feeling like a donna.
- 52:10Speaker 3: Daddy's back, and she's feeling like she ut it. God's
- 52:14Speaker 3: back down A drink and bottle of water, he began,
- 52:18Speaker 3: and hayth my body wash his estay.
- 52:24Speaker 1: Daddy's back and feeling like a dog.
- 52:30Speaker 2: And here comes crab wait and oct Ober Dad, I
- 52:35Speaker 2: took three bushes.
- 52:36Speaker 3: To get here. I know they want us to enjoy
- 52:39Speaker 3: the song, but I feel it needs sometimes the always
- 52:40Speaker 3: have the family walking with big smiles and their face
- 52:42Speaker 3: going yeah, just be cause you don't know. This is
- 52:43Speaker 3: a this is a fucking bag. Everyone's going to enjoy this.
- 52:46Speaker 3: And at the end Grandpa arrives with these otter.
- 52:48Speaker 1: I don't know why has everything sort of rhymed with
- 52:51Speaker 1: otter up until then? Probably yeah, daughter, And yet it's
- 52:54Speaker 1: like it's slightly off. But yeah, as someone who appreciates
- 52:57Speaker 1: the otter as an animal, they're awfully cute?
- 53:00Speaker 3: Are they like? Vicious? Is anything?
- 53:02Speaker 1: Though? I thought that was like a ferret.
- 53:04Speaker 3: No, I thought like otters like maybe I'm wrong. I
- 53:08Speaker 3: mean they're adorable.
- 53:09Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, you know, lying in the river and they'll
- 53:11Speaker 1: hold hands so they don't drift apart, and you give
- 53:13Speaker 1: them a little rock.
- 53:15Speaker 3: There's a as a version of an otter, otters vicious
- 53:17Speaker 3: and they're like bigger versions like a stoat the violent
- 53:21Speaker 3: necrophiliac serial killing fur What here we go? What the
- 53:26Speaker 3: case against ODIs necrophiliac serial killing fer monsters of the sea. See,
- 53:30Speaker 3: they are actually like horrific. People love otters. Hell we
- 53:34Speaker 3: even once employed its own full time enthusiasts, and I
- 53:37Speaker 3: guess that get the appeal. They hold each other's hands,
- 53:39Speaker 3: they juggle rocks. Maybe one's raising captivity. Squak go on
- 53:41Speaker 3: an introduced to water for the first time. Legend has
- 53:43Speaker 3: it they saved him in lives on occasion. But there
- 53:45Speaker 3: comes a point in which rational people have put adorable
- 53:48Speaker 3: hydigx aside and recognized otters for what they are. Disease ridden, murderous,
- 53:51Speaker 3: necrophiliac aqua weasels whose treachery knows few bounds. They are
- 53:54Speaker 3: not wonderful animals, as Misstschanel would have you believe. They're
- 53:57Speaker 3: merciless hellspaorn who use their intellects for great evil. Here's
- 54:00Speaker 3: what you need to know about these terrible animals and
- 54:02Speaker 3: way should feed them and hate them.
- 54:04Speaker 1: I only heard miss Deshanel, so I'm assuming that it's
- 54:07Speaker 1: Tim Motter, so therefore I'm Tim Motter. Okay, then I
- 54:12Speaker 1: mean you have me until necrophiliac. See, I can forgive
- 54:16Speaker 1: a lot of stuff.
- 54:17Speaker 4: But.
- 54:20Speaker 3: You're gonna be absolutely disgusted like I can't believe it
- 54:23Speaker 3: changed my out looking life.
- 54:26Speaker 1: Say me.
- 54:29Speaker 3: Cat's, on the other hand, still adorable. Oh yeah, still
- 54:32Speaker 3: still They're my favorite animal at the zoo, the mere cat,
- 54:34Speaker 3: still the goat. Yes, me cat, I'm going mercat every
- 54:36Speaker 3: day of the week.
- 54:37Speaker 1: It's a tough one, but you were just presented a
- 54:39Speaker 1: compelling evidence against against artis a compelling case against the atta.
- 54:44Speaker 1: So yeah, it might be mea cat number one.
- 54:46Speaker 3: Yes, But everyone's sleeping and then Royce leaves, seeing daddy's
- 54:49Speaker 3: a dead beat, he's leaving his daughter again.
- 54:51Speaker 1: I would have liked a little more.
- 54:53Speaker 7: Oh.
- 54:53Speaker 3: I mean, I guess we understand why he's going to
- 54:55Speaker 3: do it, But I thought I actually didn't get to
- 54:58Speaker 3: make my notes. I thought the time between him leaving
- 55:01Speaker 3: and him being with the Dixie Chicks wasn't long enough.
- 55:04Speaker 3: He's gone from walking out till the next morning. He's
- 55:06Speaker 3: famous with the Dixie Chicks.
- 55:08Speaker 1: I get where you're coming from. I didn't mind that
- 55:10Speaker 1: so much. It's like I would have liked some indication
- 55:13Speaker 1: that he was going to be a ramblin man before
- 55:16Speaker 1: he actually took off, or that's like, oh gee, this
- 55:19Speaker 1: is all great, having this Rameland thing. But I'm a
- 55:21Speaker 1: little uncomfortable with it, but show that.
- 55:23Speaker 3: Yeah, because he seems to be, like he said at
- 55:26Speaker 3: once at the fair, I'm going to be a man forever. Yeah.
- 55:28Speaker 3: We need to sort of plant the seeds, will he though?
- 55:30Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 55:30Speaker 3: Yeah, anyway, but you know, if you don't want me man,
- 55:34Speaker 3: we shouldn't laugh. The greatest moments in history of television.

- 57:09Speaker 1: he seems to be going through the nuggets.
- 57:11Speaker 3: So he ate thirteen a couple of weeks ago. Now
- 57:16Speaker 3: there was twenty, so there's twenty. Holly had four he
- 57:20Speaker 3: ate sixteen nuggets. Oh my god, sixteen nuggets and how
- 57:23Speaker 3: was this boy? Six sixteen nuggets at a large ships.
- 57:26Speaker 1: Reminded me of that paralympian who you know, she was
- 57:29Speaker 1: in the in the heat and she smashed her personal
- 57:31Speaker 1: best and then no, no, she's got to be in
- 57:34Speaker 1: the actual not the actual race, but you know, like
- 57:36Speaker 1: the final that night. Then she went in the ny
- 57:39Speaker 1: and she smashed her really that she smashed earlier that day.
- 57:42Speaker 1: It's like, Elliott, let's go to k seeing him some

- 58:18Speaker 3: No, no coconut, no coconut. But Royce has now given
- 58:21Speaker 3: the song to the Dixie Chicks, or he hasn't given.
- 58:23Speaker 3: He said he's written to himself. Indeed, they're singing it
- 58:25Speaker 3: for him. He's now getting a lot of money for it.
- 58:27Speaker 3: He's doing very well.
- 58:28Speaker 1: It's rising fast on the rocket with a rocket of.
- 58:30Speaker 3: It's But yeah, he's still got the no child sports

- 59:44Speaker 3: She's really said she's if anyone needs me orho my kid,
- 59:46Speaker 3: no one needs me. I was like, oh, cute, colonel,
- 59:49Speaker 3: how much of the rescue and major March and Major Marge. Yeah,
- 59:53Speaker 3: is very cute, very cute moment. And she says, you know,
- 59:56Speaker 3: you're just stop giving your dad too much power, stop
- 59:58Speaker 3: getting yourself esteem from the men in your life, and
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: you can do this. Any one person that can tell
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: you what to do. Mirror Santa Claus like, oh, Santa's bed, Yes,
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: that's Christmas decorations, by the way, very creepy looking Santa.
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: Yeah, he's like looking stern.
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: A lot of Sanded's decorations are creepy, though, why do
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: you think that is poor design? Okay?
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: I was wondering if it was some sort of psychological
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: thing that was just a you problem as opposed to
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: a Santa problem.
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: I don't know there's a Santa. We went to b
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: W dea that and they've already got the Chrismas stuff
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: out in BW. It's really it's our September because.
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: I saw Halloween stuff and I'm like, it's a bit early.
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: They've got some Yeah, we've got Christmas stuff out. Now,
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: there's an entire Christmas section of all decorations already out.
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: They're just kipped out away.
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: Like we've we've got to have something to look forward to.
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: Yeah, well, I spoke to somebody who worked at Super
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: Michael right, and he goes, no one's buying Halloween shit anymore.
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: You go, so I don't think we're going to really
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: go harder anymore. He goes the decorations. He goes, they
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: just sit on the shelves year on year in, year out.
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: Oh boy, because just like you guys, I think you're
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: gonna see much Halloween shit this year.
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: There's going to be tough for my friend Steve, who
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: loves Halloween.
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: Big w Bunnies has like a four meter high skeleton.
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: It's massive. It's like size the fucking shelves at Bunnings.
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: This is the guy who used to run like the
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: neighboring hardware store, and he basically killed him in skin
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: and said, don't get any ideas, don't take on Big Bunnings.
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: But there she's told her, you can do this for yourself.
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: Bunning spread of the pod.
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: Homer says, you've still got your career. He makes the
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: joke about things that she can actually achieve, one of
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: them being TV Moon is actual movies, no TV movies.
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: Sky is the Limit, but now White Trash Records, and
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: Roy says he's changed the lines of the song because
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: he's sold for a Chevy commercial. So why would you
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: do this? Cash Money? Great? I love it. Cash Money
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: literally walks in, she goes, here's something that you can
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: probably understand. You think she's going to play a song.
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: She specially over the head with the guitar. Yeah, And
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: then they said, don't do that to his head. Need
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: we need that for him to think about songs? She says,
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: she she wrote it's for her, and then that's pretty
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: much the end of his story, right, I believe? So yeah, yeah,
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: because I think he still says I'm still the most
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: honorable producer you've ever had. They go, yeah, sure you
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: probably are. But she is basically Lisa's I don't need
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: you anymore. Lowlin's now successful. She's going to be opening
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: for the Dixie Chicks, and she's met husband number four,
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: who was just another version of Homer.
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: Who needs one hundred dollars for beer.
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: Yes, Marge says that you know, of all the people
- 1:02:11Speaker 3: who have hit on Homer, you are my favorite, brings
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: her in close and threatens her to strangle with her
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: own hair extensions.
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: That's right, she wears hair extensions.
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: That is the end of Papada Lynch. I enjoyed this
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: a lot more than I expected to, as did I,
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: And yes I was. As I said, we feel like
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: we're kind of in the weeds a bit in season nineteen.
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: But Vic said that we've had a few episodes recently
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: like it's not bad. There's a lot it's been season
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: nineteen so far, so smoke on the Daughter wasn't bad.
- 1:02:36Speaker 3: Last week. You don't think you enjoyed it, but it
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: wasn't too bad. I liked it for it the most part.
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: We also had dial in for Neerda, which was the
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: mystery with Martin. She wasn't bad. We had the Debater
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: which I love the Debutter. No, you like as much
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: as I did, but it was still a good episode.
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: Love Springfieldy and Style. Which one was that again? I
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: was the sit in Nancy. That was the nothing episode.
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: That was that ninety show. Yeah, that's rights, not even
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: a right. So far, there's been a couple of stinkers,
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: but for the most part it's been fine.
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: It's got a perfectly good back nights WI not good,
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: not good.
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: So there's been it's either like you know, good episodes
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: or absolute stinkers.
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: We're missing out on the creamy centers.
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: What do we learn, Bomber? What you learn from the episode?
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: I learn from this episode whisking corn flakes? Good mix?
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: Are they? Have you ever tried heroine with your orange juice?
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: Thank you for adding with orange juice? Uh, never tried
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: orange juice.
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: I've learned that my day starts tomorrow forward, your names
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: will be It's the Guy Davis Championship for Papa. Don't
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: leach the current leader board. Mister Davis stands at this
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: in first position. Here is miles ahead. It is Jared
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: Hol't beyond twenty two points in second position, Adam Woolhouse
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: on fourteen points, and Phil Hawkins on eleven in third position.
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: Take it away.
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: A great thing about the Guy Davis name New Name
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: Championships that it could change at any time, except in
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: this case probably not. But still we're going to go
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: through the motions and.
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: You never can tell.
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: It's it's always nice for someone to be acknowledged for
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: their creativity and coming up with a new name. So
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: let's start by giving one point to I Got Friends
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: in Dope Places. It's a nice play on a was
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: it Garth Brooks tune I Got Friends in Low Places?
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: It sounds like a country song. It sounds like some
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: Garth Books would write. When it comes to country music,
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: Garth books are sort of one of In the nineties,
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: he felt like he was the king of country music.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: He really was.
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: He's the one to Keith Urban. He was like the
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: he was like the male Shania Twain. He sort of
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: somehow transitioned from like country to like made it like
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: poppy as well. Yeah, like mete it in the charts. Yeah, anyway,
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: So where is he there? But that's Andy Gengle. By
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: the way, Andy Gengle with the their first points of
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: the season. It looks like Andy Gongle, well done. First
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: point of the season.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: Well done, Andy Gangler. Two points goes to don't mess
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: with taxes?
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: Don't mess with taxes? Is Phil Hawkins with two points? Yeah,
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: not quite past the three point line, but Phil two
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: points ever fufills That puts him now on thirteen points.
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: He is now only what twenty four points behind Jared.
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: Let me have a look, nine points behind Joe. They're
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: still time he.
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: Earned back the Jay. Yeah, and three points goes to
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: Country Lumpkins.
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: Oh like the lot, and that would be because it's
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: brought to you by Rage Beasley Modern Rach. That puts
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: her now on four points, her first three point of
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: the season.
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: Race Beasley are also like a lot.
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: So that's fantastic.
