- 4:57[SPEAKER_04]: Yep.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_04]: And Friday, um,
- 5:01[SPEAKER_04]: Dido conditions?
- 5:02[SPEAKER_04]: They say there's a slight chance of rain today, it doesn't look like it.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_04]: 77?
- 5:08[SPEAKER_04]: Looks like a nice weekend too, maybe a little rain said a Sunday in Monday, but that's okay.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_04]: Ah, so great.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_04]: Whether for the farmers too, get the fields dried out and get the hay in and all that stuff.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know it's a corn ready yet.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_04]: It's the corn as high as an elephant's eye.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_05]: I just don't know you It might be well things and oh we got a collar ready But after doing you're on the air There's any way you can get the police chief on the show She she used to be a media friendly I don't a newspaper talk to channel 7.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_04]: I know we don't have her, but that's really up to the city manager I don't really know
- 5:52[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I assume he'd have to approve it, so.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_05]: Well, we're not popular.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I don't know if she wants to come on this show.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_04]: If she wants to she can, you know, she might prefer Glenn's show.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_05]: Well, yeah, but, you know, Well, it'd be glad to have her in.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_05]: So there you go, Chief, if you want to come in any day.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_04]: Same thing with Glenn, I'm sure Glenn would love to have her.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_04]: You know what, I think it'd be a good idea.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_04]: Real community.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_05]: It would be a good idea.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_04]: Um, I did read that and, you know, I think a regular feature on Channel 7's morning news, you know, like the zoo animals or something, have her in every month or two weeks or whatever.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_04]: I think that'd be a good idea.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_04]: Same thing with, uh, talk radio and, uh, all the other stuff.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_04]: But that's just me, I'm kind of, uh, you know,
- 6:52[SPEAKER_05]: yet as much out there as you can and all of that stuff but uh... uh... thing on the cost of the no issue to read that matter which one all of that the comments that were made before you ran for office uh... comment set up of not proper or court streets make a big deal about it you know nobody cares about that was it right now isn't a big but big deal knows not it's kind of like that way they they went after that
- 7:20[SPEAKER_05]: the taxes here in the city.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_05]: Instead of thinking about nonsense, the go after Mr. Constantine, because you're a Democrat probably probably a bunch of wolf people over there too.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_05]: I think you're a concourse street aren't they, mayor?
- 7:33[SPEAKER_04]: This is an alphabet organization.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I'm not sure, but yeah, they're woke, all right.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_04]: They're woke one, not woke two either.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_05]: Totally outrageous, and the channel's seven is covered in a story.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_05]: Well, that totally ridiculous on channel seven's part, you know, not a big issue,
- 7:50[SPEAKER_05]: Not in mine either Was years ago, was it very popular?
- 7:54[SPEAKER_05]: Is it a big deal?
- 7:55[SPEAKER_04]: No It's kind of like the lady in Wisconsin or said something about Thanksgiving.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_04]: They sunk her campaign with that the media did and the Democrats Yeah, I mean I don't blame him a lot of things.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_05]: You don't want any police you don't want any borders
- 8:08[SPEAKER_04]: Well, she said the unfortunate thing in today's world is you say things and you get people we got up in our audience who run around saying oh, I'm recording that I'm gonna you know, I got an MP3 file.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_04]: I'm sending to two streams or something.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I don't really care I'm sure it does everything I But the problem big story.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, the thing is about stuff.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_05]: I say it
- 8:36[SPEAKER_04]: You know, nobody really cares.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_04]: There's no, nobody is a newspaper.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_04]: You can run to or anybody cares.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_05]: The other thing is she the Augustburg seven to the same problem.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_05]: We're there for you to part of America in the pocketbook.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_05]: Do you read that?
- 8:53[SPEAKER_04]: Well, tell me more.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_05]: We're happy.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_05]: Remember, man.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, yeah.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_05]: His words cause an big trouble in the pocketbook.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_05]: They want people want to take vacation at the same time.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_05]: I think they have a minimum man of 46 people.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_05]: two people want to take vacation at the same time.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_05]: City manager said we can't do it.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_05]: Well, let's one guy take vacation and you won't lose your job.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_05]: You won't lose any other benefits.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_05]: But you really wouldn't accept that.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_04]: Well, you know, I don't know what we do here in Watertown.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_04]: Most companies, yeah, most company, when I worked at Channel 7 and it was a union shop there and the technicians, you know, there was a schedule and those who'd been there longer could get the good weeks in July and others couldn't, you couldn't have everybody off the same week.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_05]: But you know, some people that's the way, that's the way it's done, but you didn't want to give an option.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_05]: And after some reason, city managers hold my line out, because I believe they don't have a contract at this time.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, so I don't know if they're going to win the case or not, it's Mr. Crohn has something there.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I guess he's doing an old thing.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_05]: He's not happy about it.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_05]: He's right though, the kill is the new overtime.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_05]: Nobody mind overtime if there's an emergency.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_04]: You know.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_05]: Same where you're immortal.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_05]: I've been a man we live in.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_05]: You're as close to listen to pocketbook.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_04]: I see the red and black is back in good standing with that league.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_05]: I think there's only four teams in the league.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you can't afford to be kicking him out more.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_04]: I didn't know Billy.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_04]: Billy Cooper is the president of the Redden Black.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_04]: I guess Billy would just went up to that guy.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_05]: I think about that.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, they could see on the Redden Black.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_04]: Well, Billy filled them in on how it's going to be.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know if there's any more four or five teams in the whole week.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so what, you know, it's a fight.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_04]: There's fights and sports.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_04]: Well, anyway, after Billy got it settled, I think you sold a guy at car too.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_04]: So, who knows?
- 10:49[SPEAKER_04]: Well, good for him.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_04]: That's his business.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_05]: You know, Billy, he could see the business for.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_04]: Billy could sell it.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_04]: But, Billy could sell ice to an Eskimo.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, they do a lot of good things for the community.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, Mayor, so I had... Are you not mad about anything?
- 11:09[SPEAKER_04]: No, you're not there anymore.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_05]: No, there's no such thing going though, and I wrote it again, I made my statement on it.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_04]: The pit bulls next door aren't bothering you or anything?
- 11:17[SPEAKER_05]: Well, I'm not going to get into a sentence, okay.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_04]: All right, you thanks.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_04]: You bet.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_04]: Right.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_04]: A subdued angry man on the hotline on A, I'm 1240, WATN, and of course W2TK 92.7 in Oberg, so there you go.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_04]: What are other things in the news?
- 11:39[SPEAKER_04]: people are complaining around the u.s.s.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_04]: Lincoln that's a big carrier their craft care but it's see for nine months it's a long time it is not easy they say cruise trying to jump over because of sanitation isn't working right and they haven't got hygiene items i can't imagine it today's touchy feely world in the military that the commander of that ship doesn't have all that stuff available at the you know some of the heads broke or something near redirect people or what's wrong with
- 12:09[SPEAKER_04]: It's just your own the ocean, just dump it all there, not a nice thing to say, I know, they probably got a million rules on that about, uh, yeah, just posing of ways, but who's going to say anything?
- 12:25[SPEAKER_04]: Well, he got out, those in, uh, have six leans on the deck, you know, if you're peeing over the sides or what, it's just a fox news, they're not a fox news, but a CNN type story, they're
- 12:40[SPEAKER_04]: It's all about, it's all about Trump, and they keep going on and on about that airport switcherru and anchor, oh my god, everybody got home, everybody got home, oh, let's see.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_04]: Well, Caroline Levitt, or as the hand says, leave it is leaving his white-oice press secretary.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_04]: I don't blame her.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_04]: You know, she's got the two young kids.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_04]: I'm sure that's a big part of it.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_04]: And I'm sure she likes being at the center of things.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_04]: But that's a pretty rigorous job.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_04]: You know, that's not like you're clocking at eight and go home at four type of thing.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_04]: So she's leaving yet.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_04]: John Moore, I think he's a would be a good presidential press secretary, and I don't know who else they're talking about Alina Haba, the attorney, and a couple other people.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_04]: Not any, and it's going to get tougher to be press secretary after the election.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_06]: Trust me, a lot tougher.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, let's see.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_04]: little political news for all you uh... and why twenty one people and a lot of you are out there listening up in the bird sent a word scouting there's been a consortium of uh... distinguished media journalists that's trying to schedule the debates yeah well here's the consortium the albany times union w a m c i think that's an albany northeastern p r o my god
- 14:25[SPEAKER_04]: WMHT, I think that's this, connected to the public TV station, and WNYT-13 in Albany.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_04]: Well, that's fine, but they're going to provide the blue panel of blue ribbon journalists.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_04]: What about the other markets, water town market?
- 14:40[SPEAKER_04]: What about over in Platsburg, Burlington?
- 14:44[SPEAKER_04]: You know, that's a pretty big deal, but I don't even know if they'll be debate at this point.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_04]: maybe.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_04]: It only matters if somebody screws up.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_04]: I remember the one a couple months ago with Constantino and Smullen.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_04]: Well, the big moment was when he refused to shake his hand at the end.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_04]: That was, you know, that was the money shop right there.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, we want to, um, you like to send out congratulations once in a while to people who do good things.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_04]: young quint brothers up in Huvleton you and that is you know well he's the grand champion of the 23rd international junior carp tournament and I saw a picture of him holding one of his carp his batch of I guess you have to submit your four biggest carp that you catch and his added up to seventy nine pounds four ounces yeah
- 15:53[SPEAKER_04]: Carp fishing is big up there and it's not like down here and I'm going bullhead fishing up there It's carp up in the water scenario all of that.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know whether you catch them With a hooker if you just rattle them in yourself when they get in shallow water, but Well, Quint brothers young man from Huvelton did a nice job out there Okay, we got a call coming in but after do you're on the air?
- 16:17[SPEAKER_04]: Well, good afternoon Jeff hey, Ross, I was just talking about
- 16:22[SPEAKER_04]: Young man from Huvoltz and Quint Brothers won the Junior Carp Tournament.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_04]: There's four fish added up to 79 pounds for ounces.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_04]: Is that good?
- 16:35[SPEAKER_16]: I mean, yeah, they used to have archery tournaments to carp in the St. Lawrence River, and I think the record for one fish was 62 pounds, and I've shot a lot of them over 40.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_16]: but now this car fishing has taken over so the both fishing tournaments kind of gone to the side but they go out and they catch them for it for a junior hey that's good as far as I'm concerned any time you can get a kid out to do something other than sitting in the house watching video games that I consider that a victory right exactly and they don't do spearfisher up there like in the to hit you something no no no they used to do
- 17:16[SPEAKER_16]: They had fishing reels and special arrows on bows and they would go out and shoot the carp.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_16]: With a bow and it would a bow and arrow.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_16]: And like I said, I think the record biggest carp ever taken in the tournament was 62 pounds, just one fish.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_16]: And I've shot a pile of them in the forties.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_04]: How are they?
- 17:35[SPEAKER_04]: The people eat those?
- 17:37[SPEAKER_16]: No, now they're a trash fish.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_16]: I mean, yes, can you eat them?
- 17:42[SPEAKER_16]: Yes.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_16]: Are they very fishy and crappy because they're a bottom feeder and they eat a lot of garbage?
- 17:49[SPEAKER_16]: Um, so this time a year, they're kind of the meat spongey and it's just not worth eating.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_16]: So it's kind of like a bass tournament.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_16]: They catch them way, I'm in release them.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_04]: Mm-hmm.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_16]: Which is a good thing.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_16]: I mean, they're a valuable part of the ecosystem.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_04]: I see salmon river school district got a new superintendent.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_04]: I hope he doesn't lock kids in a box again.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_16]: Well, I was going to say that they get a superintendent or a warden.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_04]: Is that a rough school or something?
- 18:16[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah, it's salmon river schools right on the res.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_16]: So it's difficult to say the least.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_04]: There you go.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_04]: So what was on your mind?
- 18:28[SPEAKER_04]: You called in.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_16]: Well, I'm going to give you three names.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_16]: Okay, Martin, Martin Phillips, Fiona Colley, Josh Blue, don't know any of them.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_16]: They're all comedians that are severely disabled.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_16]: Fiona Colley is somebody that has a degenerative disease and she's probably going to be dead in four to five years, but they're all comedians and they go out and they perform this self-deprecating humor.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_16]: that is just it's incredible the humility and the hilariousness of it it's awesome and now w w and y is out there saying oh Anthony committed a crime because he made a self-deprecating joke with a disabled comedian and you know I am I am so sick of this you know here here's Anthony helping this guy
- 19:23[SPEAKER_16]: Bringing him in, making him feel accepted.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_16]: Did they cover the fact that Anthony remodeled this guy's house so that he was able to have a better life paid for it out of his own pocket?
- 19:34[SPEAKER_16]: No, they don't cover stuff like that.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_16]: But, you know, you've got this ILE Martin from NRCIL that says it's such a crime.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_16]: That woman's an awful, awful being, an acronym of
- 19:52[SPEAKER_16]: She's the one that's the problem.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_16]: She should be apologizing to Anthony because what she thinks is these people should get picked up in a van, pushed into a corner in an area and set there and let their brains atrophy the way they're body atrophies.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_16]: It is absolutely ridiculous that, you know, oh, you can't say this word and you can't say that word in its hurtful and it's so, you know it's not.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_16]: If you're going up and picking on somebody, that's one thing.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_16]: but if you're making friends with somebody and you're participating in a self-deprecating humor and I mean this guy that they're picking on Anthony about have six million followers on social media.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_17]: Hmm.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_16]: All because of his humility and willingness to just look at people and life and make white of it.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_04]: Who went to them with a story?

- 22:17[SPEAKER_16]: There's a difference between picking on somebody and helping them have purpose.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_16]: In this case, Anthony was helping somebody to have purpose and they're trying to make something bad out of it.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_16]: Like I said, that woman should apologize for the fact that all she does is take these people stick to the corner and let their brains atrophy as fast as we're
- 22:43[SPEAKER_04]: All right.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_04]: Well, anything else going on up there?
- 22:46[SPEAKER_04]: I guess today I was talking to Jim Reagan on the air.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_04]: I hadn't talked to him in quite a while.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_04]: And, you know, we're trying to reach out to St. Lawrence County.

- 23:05[SPEAKER_04]: So, well, he's very good.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_04]: But I think he's got to be careful, you know, he does represent the, you know, it's country's finest and still, and I don't, I'm kind of a pariah, which is not the same as a parana.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah, well, um, if you're a pariah, I would hate to say what I am, but, you know, some kid caught a parana and Pennsylvania, they're not native to there.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_16]: Are they?
- 23:30[SPEAKER_16]: No, that was a case where somebody probably had a parana and a fish tank, and they couldn't
- 23:38[SPEAKER_16]: So they threw the fish in a local pond thinking they were giving it wife.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_16]: Well, that's a that's a fish that can't survive in water below about 55 degrees.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_16]: So rather he caught it now or by the time no number December came either way.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_16]: That fish was going to be dead.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, but can one fish do a number on you?
- 23:59[SPEAKER_16]: One piranha.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah, yeah, those things would they when when they
- 24:05[SPEAKER_16]: what they do is when they bite their teeth sink in and their teeth are tapered and then they go into this spastic frenzy with their body and they shake so that it's not like a shark or a shark bites you and takes a chunk out of you a piranha bites into you and then swirls thrashes its body and rips chunks out of you wow yeah one one one piranha

- 31:33[SPEAKER_15]: I like that.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_15]: Also, Caroline Lavin, I think she's rock, she's got her homework drawn, she comes in, she tells the Saint News, okay, here's the deal, and whatever.

- 32:35[SPEAKER_15]: Also, I think that would be a good position for at least a planet, but I think she would rock
- 32:45[SPEAKER_04]: at least as the press secretary oh they sure up i mean she do a good job but yeah i i could see that i don't know if it's i think it would be cool i don't know how long until to give her i'm sure she gave more than two weeks notice but i'm not well no care careland Levitt's leaving the end of this month august uh... yeah i think uh...

- 33:28[SPEAKER_04]: Well, yeah.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_04]: You're going to get beat up.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_04]: There's no doubt about it.
- 33:32[UNKNOWN]: Yep.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_04]: So well, maybe word will get from the hotline to the White House that you've suggested that.

- 34:11[SPEAKER_04]: They set up like a controlled exchange, they call it, you know, like whatever.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_04]: But who were these people who turned over 150, now how many ounces is it?
- 34:24[SPEAKER_04]: Well, gold is about 4,000 bucks an ounce.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_04]: So that's 10 to be 40,000.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_04]: It's about 40 ounces a gold if it's good stuff.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_04]: I'm just going to hand that over to some Chinese guy who'll call me up on the phone.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_04]: Hello, we are on the air.

- 34:49[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, thank you.
- 34:50[SPEAKER_04]: I didn't.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, we have two people nominated now, John Moore, or at least Stefaniac.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_04]: I think either of them would do a wonderful job as presidential press secretary.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_04]: I think they know enough about the issues.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_04]: And my goodness, they could put the mainstream fake media in its place.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_04]: I'll tell you.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_04]: Um, all right.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_04]: Well, we're going to take a break and we'll be back with more of the hotline in a moment.

- 48:03[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 48:03[SPEAKER_04]: I would I would recommend they do remain one for funding reasons His city manager found a cronus a city resident.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know the man.
- 48:14[SPEAKER_04]: Uh, can Jim Reagan call in more often?
- 48:16[SPEAKER_04]: Well, if you'd like to, we'd like to have my like, Jim, known for years.
- 48:21[SPEAKER_04]: And this is a good point.
- 48:23[SPEAKER_04]: WCIAX Burlington Channel 2, and WWNY are jointly owned.
- 48:28[SPEAKER_04]: Why can't they hold a live debate instead of everything in NY-21 being focused on Albany media?
- 48:34[SPEAKER_04]: Now that's a good question.
- 48:37[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 48:46[SPEAKER_04]: You could hold it and, well, water turns not in the district.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_04]: Well, let's say you held it in Platsburg, and then beam it over here and all of that.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_04]: So, would see me could do that, but you know how the media is, the mainstream media.
- 49:02[SPEAKER_04]: There's something.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_04]: And speaking of mainstream media, sit over here.
- 49:09[SPEAKER_04]: It's, how you doing?
- 49:12[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, well, even though they're routine, you got to talk right into the mic.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_04]: We got Brian Ashley here.
- 49:20[SPEAKER_04]: How you doing?
- 49:21[SPEAKER_06]: I'm doing fine, I want you to sew.
- 49:23[SPEAKER_04]: I was and doing.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_06]: She's doing even better.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_04]: Good, glad to hear it.
- 49:27[SPEAKER_04]: Glad to hear it.
- 49:29[SPEAKER_06]: Well, I understand one of your, uh, uh, colors has to be with me.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_04]: Well, he's the angry man.
- 49:36[SPEAKER_06]: He's the anger man.
- 49:37[SPEAKER_06]: Who's that?
- 49:38[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_04]: Got it right up close.
- 49:39[SPEAKER_04]: We're like, oh, this thing.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_05]: We're saying that unit over there.
- 49:44[SPEAKER_04]: I'm sorry, but we weren't set up for him.
- 49:46[SPEAKER_04]: I.
- 49:46[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I just distinguished guest walks in.
- 49:49[SPEAKER_06]: You know, you have, uh, it's got to be those holes there.
- 49:55[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 49:58[SPEAKER_04]: It's actually, uh, you're one of a handful of people Brian who can just walk in.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_04]: Now they won't make it work for him, okay.
- 50:07[SPEAKER_04]: All right, you are on the with the zoos.
- 50:09[SPEAKER_06]: No, no, no, I'm the president of the Friends of the Townsend Park.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_06]: Oh.
- 50:14[SPEAKER_06]: And we are isn't a volunteer, all the volunteer advisory group that we have taken on some of the responsibilities outside of the zoo in the golf course.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I like to thank everybody's a friend of the park.
- 50:26[SPEAKER_06]: Well, we'd love to have more friends of the park.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_06]: We're just, we're kind of an active group.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_06]: We've been, and we will be on Saturday.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_06]: doing more trail work from the western and the Gotham street across joining up trails that we've built around to the bottom of Cape Hill, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
- 50:44[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, right out of this, sir.
- 50:45[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, closer.
- 50:46[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 50:47[SPEAKER_04]: You know, people at home that are having flashbacks here in your voice.
- 50:49[SPEAKER_06]: No, I see.
- 50:50[SPEAKER_06]: How many years have you ever been having heart attacks?
- 50:52[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to use it to anchor 20.
- 50:54[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, that's a lot.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_06]: 20 years.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_04]: They're for you.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_06]: Go like it.
- 51:01[SPEAKER_06]: the restrooms is fabric that brought well you know um i think i did call in one day is one of my volunteers called me and said that there was a gentleman who was mad about uh...
- 51:13[SPEAKER_06]: the restrooms not being open and I think he was, I don't misinformed or had a bad experience.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_06]: The restrooms that are at the pool are open during the hours at the pool is open.
- 51:29[SPEAKER_06]: You go in through the main doors, left to the men, right to the women.
- 51:34[SPEAKER_06]: When the pool closes, they close off the
- 51:39[SPEAKER_06]: on both sides and then the outdoor doors are open for you to use the rest from until probably about eight o'clock at night.
- 51:45[SPEAKER_06]: So they're open.
- 51:47[SPEAKER_06]: They are available.
- 51:48[SPEAKER_06]: They're not locked around the clock.
- 51:51[SPEAKER_04]: It's a closing time in the park.
- 51:53[SPEAKER_06]: The closing time.
- 51:53[SPEAKER_06]: Well, I don't really have a closing time for the park.
- 51:56[SPEAKER_06]: It used to be dusk, but people use their own judgment and we would advise that there's not much to see and do after dark.
- 52:04[SPEAKER_06]: The park unless you want to go up and watch the sunset.
- 52:07[SPEAKER_06]: That's why we're thus.
- 52:10[SPEAKER_06]: I would just ask that people not use the park for a nefarious things, vandalism, etc., etc.
- 52:16[SPEAKER_04]: Like we did when I was young.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_06]: you you're admitting you didn't have a well I'm admitting there I don't know cage off you know it was a yeah you stupid people to go up there on a summer night with a year you know there's a you know sort of frown on the outside alcohol use but we have plenty of people
- 52:38[SPEAKER_06]: who use the park, who utilize the barbecues that are there, they use the pickables, they use the tennis courts, and the pickleball courts.
- 52:48[SPEAKER_06]: They use the Thompson Park bandstand for a variety of things.
- 52:53[SPEAKER_06]: Of course, they use the pool, the splash pad.
- 52:57[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, there are a lot of amenities in the park that people take advantage of.
- 53:01[SPEAKER_06]: And one of the things we have noticed
- 53:03[SPEAKER_06]: is that a lot of our park users are uh... people for four-grill that's great that is great that anybody who is that more city residents uh... with sometimes it's nice just to drive through to see what's going on absolutely it's a beautiful it's a it's a jemma of the region would you and a and be willing to live in the house up there
- 53:26[SPEAKER_06]: No, we're like caretakers.
- 53:27[SPEAKER_06]: No, we're quite comfortable where we are.
- 53:29[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, I just thought I'd ask is is that the is at the effort now to find someone to live there as a caretaker?
- 53:35[SPEAKER_04]: No, well that city's giving that away to us.
- 53:39[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what to do.
- 53:40[SPEAKER_06]: Well, they there is an effort.
- 53:41[SPEAKER_06]: I believe on the part of the zoo to hire a new executive director I don't know if that's one of the perks of that job or not.
- 53:47[SPEAKER_04]: It used to be in the past What is going to I mean obviously you're concerned about the park, but you're not oblivious to the fact
- 53:56[SPEAKER_04]: The chief got the golf course, which the city is unrecorded, saying they're closing.
- 54:01[SPEAKER_06]: Do you believe them?
- 54:03[SPEAKER_06]: I think in the reality, they were looking to see how the course does this year, how Mr. Fallon does.
- 54:10[SPEAKER_06]: I know Jeff's putting a lot of effort into trying to make sure that the park golf course is viable.
- 54:17[SPEAKER_06]: And I would not want to say that that's a definitive, you know, cast and stone decision by the city council.
- 54:26[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and then you've got the zoo, which one minute they're impoverished, next minute they're flush.
- 54:33[SPEAKER_06]: Well, you know, the zoo is an entity under its own.
- 54:36[SPEAKER_06]: I'm not, I know some of the people who are involved there, one of our volunteers is the president of the chairman of their board.
- 54:44[SPEAKER_06]: But, you know, they've been trying very hard to get back onto a solid footing.
- 54:48[SPEAKER_06]: Now, the city has been coming forward.
- 54:53[SPEAKER_06]: They did have a flush of cash when the New York Times wrote an article about their status But I really I thoroughly think and it's part of the the Sue master plan or the park master plan that this is a regional facility It would be nice if the if the county stepped up
- 55:15[SPEAKER_06]: as they do in other municipalities and provided funding i think the county is uh... and i i only speak from just anecdotal knowledge they are somewhat flush uh... with with with the government and it would be nice if they stepped up and help to uh... maintain the zoo because it's one of those things you can uh... say i what it what's there to an water town well you know we can go to the park we can go to the zoo you go the golf course we can do many many things they used to be
- 55:45[SPEAKER_04]: that the city ran the park as an entity.
- 55:48[SPEAKER_04]: And my feeling is it should be one enterprise and not these separate little fiefdoms that compete with one another.
- 55:56[SPEAKER_06]: Well, I don't know what's the competition.
- 55:58[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, it's one of those things where you're going to spend the money one way or the other, whether it comes out of this pocket or that pocket.
- 56:06[SPEAKER_06]: You've got to support the entities that are there.
- 56:08[SPEAKER_06]: It's just like the arena.
- 56:09[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, people say, well, that doesn't pay for itself.
- 56:12[SPEAKER_06]: In most municipalities, those kinds of things never pay for themselves.
- 56:15[SPEAKER_04]: And they blame me for that.
- 56:18[SPEAKER_04]: They blame me for that.
- 56:18[SPEAKER_06]: Why do they blame you for that?
- 56:20[SPEAKER_04]: Because it was built when I was remodeled.
- 56:23[SPEAKER_06]: Well, let's say, well, you know, here's the thing.
- 56:25[SPEAKER_06]: If you charge what it costs to operate that facility on an hourly basis, you would never have anybody come play there, skate there or whatever.
- 56:35[SPEAKER_06]: It's just wouldn't be affordable.
- 56:37[SPEAKER_06]: So there are things that communities provide, and they do it, you know,
- 56:41[SPEAKER_06]: through the tax property tax, to give people places to go, people places for people to enjoy, and it's not a really good use of cup of tea, but may, it's what it is.
- 56:52[SPEAKER_04]: Welcome Canada, can't win the stand of the group.
- 56:56[SPEAKER_06]: Well, if you could look at the number of Canadian players on the hockey teams, I would say Canada wins the Stanley Cup virtually every year.
- 57:02[SPEAKER_06]: The last time, the last time was in 1993, Montreal, Canadians, and a good friend of mine, Kirk Mawler, was a played on that team.
- 57:10[SPEAKER_06]: And it would be nice, Montreal went a lot further this year.
- 57:13[SPEAKER_06]: They went a lot further this year than many people expected bouncing the Sabres, the favorite Sabres out of the playoffs.
- 57:20[SPEAKER_06]: But, you know, the day will come.
- 57:22[SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
- 57:23[SPEAKER_06]: It was like the day, there was a day when the United States was going to win the Stanley Cup.
- 57:27[SPEAKER_04]: Well, there you go.
- 57:28[SPEAKER_04]: There you go.
- 57:28[SPEAKER_04]: What do you think of Prime Minister Carney?
- 57:31[SPEAKER_06]: I think he said, you know, I'm not a, you know, I'm not in Canada, I live here in the United States.
- 57:36[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know that, you know, he's doing a bad job, but I'm not there, and I'm not the beneficiary of that.
- 57:44[SPEAKER_06]: Well, I was just asking because you're the only Canadian, I know.
- 57:47[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, I see.
- 57:48[SPEAKER_06]: I think he's doing a good job.
- 57:49[SPEAKER_06]: I think he's doing a good job.
- 57:50[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, I think so too.
- 57:51[SPEAKER_04]: You've checked those and see if they're coming through.
- 57:53[SPEAKER_04]: We have a collar here.
- 57:54[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what you can you hear anything?
- 57:56[SPEAKER_06]: Yes, I can.
- 57:59[SPEAKER_04]: Good afternoon, you're on the air.
- 58:01[SPEAKER_05]: Are you doing good?
- 58:04[SPEAKER_05]: I was going to ask you the same question, but I was going to ask what he's thought of attorney and if he believes that he's a sorrow to the C.C.U of his dealing with the Brookfield.
- 58:16[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, OK.
- 58:17[SPEAKER_06]: I see some of the problems.
- 58:18[SPEAKER_06]: What's the question?
- 58:19[SPEAKER_06]: What's the question?
- 58:20[SPEAKER_06]: All right, thank you.
- 58:21[SPEAKER_06]: Thanks.
- 58:21[SPEAKER_06]: I'm certain what's with this.
- 58:22[SPEAKER_04]: Chinese Communist Party.
- 58:25[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know as you're that one well, I'm not that well-versed that doesn't uh... that that's just kind of one of those straws you see the two chinese guys arrested was on news junkie i know i didn't that's down the city police got him they were uh... swindle some people out of the gold or something
- 58:40[SPEAKER_06]: some fun scamp hopefully this is a learning moment for other people not to do that what did they do they would they do rob them a gunpoint no they call them up suckered amid a song i don't know i see i mean to me if a couple chinese people call and say they're federal agents we don't know well they said chinese in the press
- 59:00[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, well, whatever if they're Chinese nationals.
- 59:03[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so I don't know.
- 59:04[SPEAKER_04]: Well, that's it.
- 59:05[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, and people can volunteer and help out with the parkers We're getting up towards the top of the hell.
- 59:09[SPEAKER_06]: Saturday morning 9 o'clock 9 o'clock 9 o'clock 12.
- 59:12[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, if you if you've got some criticism of the park, well, you know, come and give us a chance.
- 59:15[SPEAKER_06]: Come and see what we're doing Come and help us out.
- 59:18[SPEAKER_06]: Bring your rakes.
- 59:19[SPEAKER_06]: We'll be there.
- 59:19[SPEAKER_06]: Come on in off the go from street entrance.
- 59:22[SPEAKER_06]: You'll see our crews there.
- 59:23[SPEAKER_06]: Ken mixes our trails coordinator and he'll put you to work and well, maybe give you some
- 59:29[SPEAKER_06]: Maybe we'll give you some soda.
- 59:30[SPEAKER_06]: Maybe we'll give you a donut.
- 59:31[SPEAKER_06]: I'm not sure exactly what's on the menu, but we'd appreciate your help And you're sorry.
- 59:35[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you.
- 59:35[SPEAKER_04]: I got to do an ID.
- 59:37[SPEAKER_04]: Make sure I do it right.
- 59:37[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 59:38[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, sure.
- 59:39[SPEAKER_04]: All right You've been listening to the hotline Glenn Curry's in at five with live at five and all of this is coming to you on a community broadcaster station W2TK 92.7 Ogdensburg and AM1240 WATN right here in Watertown
