- 0:03Speaker 1: Vincent tell us about these three Russian subs.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Yeah, this is a story that's come out because the
- 0:09Speaker 2: British government quite unusually frank about this. The Defense Secretary
- 0:12Speaker 2: came out this morning and explained that over a month
- 0:15Speaker 2: long operation, multiple British ships, international ships and aircraft were
- 0:21Speaker 2: involved in the sort of cat and mouse game with
- 0:23Speaker 2: three Russian subs. One of them was an attack sub
- 0:26Speaker 2: and two were robotic research subs that were basically going
- 0:30Speaker 2: around the North Atlantic examining it seems the UK's cable
- 0:33Speaker 2: infrastructure that brings around about ninety percent of our Internet
- 0:37Speaker 2: and then on passes it to the United States, to
- 0:39Speaker 2: the Europe as well, and many of our energy cables.
- 0:43Speaker 2: There are about sixty of those around the country. So
- 0:46Speaker 2: basically this was a message to Russia saying that we
- 0:48Speaker 2: know that a lot's going on in the least, but
- 0:50Speaker 2: we're not distracted. We see what you're doing and we
- 0:52Speaker 2: scared you away and we'll continue to watch.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Tell us about the new exhibition at the King's Gallery,
- 0:57Speaker 1: Buckingham pellas well.
- 1:00Speaker 2: This is the summer exhibition at Buckingham Palace. So if
- 1:03Speaker 2: any of the listeners are up in London over the summer,
- 1:05Speaker 2: it's well worth checking out because you see not only
- 1:07Speaker 2: the kind of grand state rooms in Buckingham Palace, but
- 1:10Speaker 2: they always put on a special exhibit and this one
- 1:12Speaker 2: is to mark one hundred years since the late Queen,
- 1:15Speaker 2: Queen Elizabeth I's birth and it has over two hundred
- 1:18Speaker 2: pieces including clothing, jewelry, hats, shoes, accessories that she wore
- 1:23Speaker 2: during the decades of her reign. So it will be
- 1:27Speaker 2: quite a walk through history through fashion in the twentieth century.
- 1:30Speaker 2: And you know, I covered royal events for many years
- 1:32Speaker 2: while she was still alive, and she had a saying
- 1:34Speaker 2: which was, you know, I have to be seen to
- 1:36Speaker 2: be believed, and she would always turn up in some
- 1:39Speaker 2: very bright, eye catching outfits and so I think there'll
- 1:43Speaker 2: be quite a lot here to check out.
