- 0:00SPEAKER_00: You have to meet your audience where they're at and what they understand and what they know their problem is.
- 0:05SPEAKER_00: And then when they're actually inside of your transformational journey, they realize there's so much more to it.
- 0:11SPEAKER_00: Other benefits come as a byproduct, et cetera.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: So the way I see it is like your program or package is like what's inside of the gift.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: And not everybody needs to know all the ins and outs of what's inside of the gift or how you get them there exactly in every step of the way.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: But the wrapping paper on the gift is what you need to make sure is like enticing and gets the main message across and gets them interested in opening the gift.
- 0:40SPEAKER_01: Welcome to Reclaiming Consciousness.
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: My name is Elise Bassine, spiritual mentor, breathwork practitioner, and owner and CEO of Elise Breeds.
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: For many years, our consciousness has been hijacked by societal and cultural programming, religion, the media, and familial and ancestral trauma.
- 0:59SPEAKER_01: Right now, during this epic time in history, people are waking up, realizing who they really are, and reclaiming the pieces of their consciousness that they unknowingly gave away.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: This podcast is an exploration of how so many spectacular humans are leading the way in exiting the matrix and reclaiming who they really are and what they're capable of.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: In this show, you'll meet exceptional people who are paving the way in raising consciousness and creating a new way of living on this earth.
- 1:29SPEAKER_01: Get ready to go deep.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: Now let's dive in.
- 1:37SPEAKER_01: Hi everyone, welcome back to the show.
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: So this week I have a really special guest for you.
- 1:43SPEAKER_01: If you are thinking about starting a business or you have a business, Hailey Rowe in this conversation really gives some very tangible, great info about this very basic stuff around starting a business, you know, stuff that I wish I knew in the beginning and stuff that's just like super practical for starting an online business that's sustainable.
- 2:08SPEAKER_01: Because one of the things that I've started realizing over time is it's so great to really listen to your intuition and take action from that place.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: But then as you get down the road, creating something that is sustainable and that doesn't require you to be putting your energy in every five seconds to make something work that has a solid foundation and can really start to be something that you can rely on that is incredibly valuable in creating something that is lasting and is really supportive to you in all of the ways financially, mentally, energetically, spiritually, all of the things.
- 2:50SPEAKER_01: So Haley gives such great information around this.
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: And I asked her so many questions that I figured all of you would want to know the answers to.
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: So I think you're really gonna enjoy this episode.
- 3:03SPEAKER_01: It's very tangible, very practical, very informative.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: And even if you don't have a business, I bet you you will get something out of listening to her because she has a lot of knowledge from helping people market, scale, and grow businesses inside the health, wellness, and personal growth space.
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: So you're gonna love this episode.
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: And I'm pretty sure I'm gonna have Haley um do a special training with the ladies inside the Mothership membership.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: And I have some really special exclusive things coming up for the membership.
- 3:38SPEAKER_01: And right now, if you sign on for the mothership membership before Monday, you will receive a bonus 60-minute private call with me where I do a core wound trauma clearing and then also private, you know, business coaching.
- 3:57SPEAKER_01: So usually when you work with me privately, I am directly zooming in on what that core wound is that you're not aware of that's creating the limitation that you're experiencing.
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: And then we clear it and I give you some very tangible tools for you to use moving forward so that you can navigate through it when it comes up.
- 4:18SPEAKER_01: And then we will talk about some really practical ways to apply that knowledge to what it is that you want to create in your life, whether it is starting a business, growing a business, or just getting clarity on what your next steps are, what to focus on.
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: You will leave that call with so much clarity and confidence on how to move forward and a roadmap of how you can do that with tangible ways to do it.
- 4:45SPEAKER_01: That is such an amazing value that you receive when you sign up.
- 4:49SPEAKER_01: And then, like I said, there's going to be a ton of exclusive things happening inside the membership.
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: I have some really great guest speakers coming in for everyone, including Haley.
- 4:59SPEAKER_01: And then I also am going to be doing a four-week mastermind that's going to be exclusive for only people in the mothership.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: So you won't be able to join outside of if you're in the mothership.
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: And for those of you who don't know about the mothership, it is my 12-month membership space, which is kind of like a mastermind.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: I'm realizing as I am doing it because it's so much support.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: So basically, you get access to every single one of my programs, every training, every masterclass that I do, everything that I teach live, essentially, other than my certification or my other high frequency channel mastermind.
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: You get access to everything else, plus you get one coaching support call a month, plus one live group breath work session that is taught by Hani Kaiserman, who is a certified metamorphosis method breathwork practitioner.
- 5:54SPEAKER_01: So you receive so much support, plus there's a telegram chat, plus there's always something happening.
- 6:00SPEAKER_01: So if you want to learn all of my teachings, and what my teachings are really about is all of the intangible stuff.
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: So, you know, like I always say, it's easy to implement a strategy.
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: If you are starting a business or you have a business, it's easy to learn a strategy, but the implementation and the execution is where people get really tripped up.
- 6:25SPEAKER_01: And it's not because you're lazy, it's not because you're not motivated, it's not because there's anything wrong with you.
- 6:32SPEAKER_01: It's because of trauma.
- 6:34SPEAKER_01: And all of my programs and tools that I teach are to show you how to clear this trauma so that executing strategy, so that moving forward in the way that you know you're meant to becomes easy instead of it becoming this thing that you're always arguing with yourself about or wondering why you don't have clarity or wondering why you're procrastinating or wondering why you have fear or saying in stories about why you can't move forward.
- 7:02SPEAKER_01: That stuff doesn't happen when you clear the trauma.
- 7:06SPEAKER_01: And when I say trauma, all I'm referring to is the set of thought patterns and beliefs that you internalized based on what you didn't get in childhood.
- 7:15SPEAKER_01: So we all as children had things that we needed that we did not receive from our parents.
- 7:22SPEAKER_01: And this will create a void or a place where we feel like we are not resourced or we don't have enough.
- 7:29SPEAKER_01: And then that creates a pattern where we project that onto our reality, we project that onto our relationships, and it can show up as fear, confusion, lack of motivation.
- 7:42SPEAKER_01: And we think that we just don't know what to do next or we're not motivated, but it really is the trauma.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: So when you clear that, things become so much clearer to you.
- 7:53SPEAKER_01: You have a lot more confidence and you know exactly what you're meant to do.
- 7:56SPEAKER_01: And executing things becomes a hell of a lot easier.
- 7:59SPEAKER_01: And I always say from my school counselor days, I could always tell that so many kids that were diagnosed with ADHD actually just had trauma because trauma will show up the same way as ADHD, where you feel like you can't focus, you have brain fog, and it's very hard to execute tasks.
- 8:20SPEAKER_01: And when you clear trauma, that stuff becomes so much easier.
- 8:24SPEAKER_01: And this is the main focus of all of my programs inside the mothership.
- 8:28SPEAKER_01: We focus on clearing familial and ancestral trauma inside the metamorphosis.
- 8:33SPEAKER_01: Then in past lives and money, I show you how to clear the past life trauma that comes up for most spiritual women, especially when you're starting a business.
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: And then I have my program Real Results, which shows you a step-by-step process to take all of the healing work you've done and become different in each moment.
- 8:53SPEAKER_01: And this is something that I feel so passionately about because I think that so many healers out there are doing great work.
- 9:01SPEAKER_01: But then where people fall short is being able to apply the information that they've learned in each moment to become different.
- 9:08SPEAKER_01: And I teach you how to do that as well.
- 9:11SPEAKER_01: So there's a lot of really amazing things coming up inside the membership.
- 9:15SPEAKER_01: First, we have Past Lives and Money starting on Monday.
- 9:18SPEAKER_01: Then the metamorphosis will be right after that.
- 9:21SPEAKER_01: I'm going to be doing another training around it's called the confidence cure, um, where I'm going to be showing you how to make a very simple energetic shift so that you can start to show up with more confidence in yourself, in your message, in your business, in your gifts, because that's something that I see a lot of women struggle with as well is the confidence, the self-doubt, imposter syndrome, all of those things.
- 9:48SPEAKER_01: So that's just a few things that are coming up.
- 9:50SPEAKER_01: I also have my smaller training called Breathwork, Money and Receiving that'll be coming up towards the end of the summer.
- 9:56SPEAKER_01: So there's so many things happening inside the membership.
- 10:00SPEAKER_01: It really is the place to be.
- 10:02SPEAKER_01: And you get so much value for only$555 a month.
- 10:06SPEAKER_01: It is really a no-brainer and a place to really land, sink in, and receive a ton of support inside of my world.
- 10:14SPEAKER_01: So right now, you have those bonuses available to you.
- 10:18SPEAKER_01: If you are interested, please reach out.
- 10:20SPEAKER_01: Also, if you've already signed up for Past Lives and Money or the Metamorphosis, which I know some people have, you can apply what you already paid to join the mothership.
- 10:30SPEAKER_01: And some people are already doing that.
- 10:32SPEAKER_01: So that is a great option for you as well.
- 10:34SPEAKER_01: Without further ado, I will stop talking.
- 10:37SPEAKER_01: Please enjoy the episode.
- 10:42SPEAKER_01: Hi, everyone.
- 10:43SPEAKER_01: Welcome back to the show.
- 10:45SPEAKER_01: So today I have Haley Rowe with me, and I'm really excited to introduce you to her.
- 10:50SPEAKER_01: So welcome to the show, Haley.
- 10:52SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: I'm excited to be here.
- 10:54SPEAKER_01: Can you just tell everyone just a little bit about you and how you got to where you are now?
- 11:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: So I started to have an interest in personal development back in 2010.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: I was pretty young and an old soul at heart.
- 11:09SPEAKER_00: And I ended up getting a couple different certifications in life coaching and behavioral change and fitness and all sorts of things.
- 11:18SPEAKER_00: I just started dabbling and wondering what I wanted to do with all of that.
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: And I ended up getting my bachelor's in entrepreneurship.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: And then after that, I worked in business development and marketing for startups.
- 11:31SPEAKER_00: And they were usually in the wellness space or personal development space.
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: And I loved it and learned a lot about business.
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: It was like a crash course and having to figure things out and do things that you didn't feel, quote unquote, ready to do.
- 11:45SPEAKER_00: You were just assigned to do it and figure it out.
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: And then in 2017, I always knew I wanted to have my own business and maybe coach others, but I wasn't sure when the timing was right for me.
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: And I kept telling myself, oh, I'm not ready.
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: And in 2017, one of the companies that I worked for, which was a wellness startup, had a bunch of delays in getting approvals and being able to open and all the things.
- 12:09SPEAKER_00: And so the entire team was let go in one day.
- 12:13SPEAKER_00: And I realized at that point I had just moved across the country for this job prior and just assigned another lease to renew my lease when I was living there and all the things, and ended up realizing wow, I have to pivot.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: And I've always wanted to have my own business.
- 12:30SPEAKER_00: And this is now my chance.
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna take that as a sign.
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: And so I started to work individually with wellness-based business owners, breathwork practitioners, health practitioners, people like that, and been doing it ever since.
- 12:45SPEAKER_00: Started my podcast called Health Coach Nation to have a cool excuse to talk to interesting people and been doing it ever since.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: So my goal and mission is to help people who have a craft that they love, whether it's in wellness or uh life coaching or whatever that is, and be able to actually keep it as their career and be able to monetize it and be able to work with clients because I see a lot of people who get those certifications and then feel stuck in what are they supposed to do next or how do they become a business owner?
- 13:14SPEAKER_00: So that's really my passion.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: I love that so much.
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: And I have so many questions I think that everyone will want to know the answers to.
- 13:23SPEAKER_01: So since you've worked with a lot of like coaches and people who are in sort of like the health and wellness or like healers, what would you say is some of the biggest challenges that you see your clients facing when it comes to like marketing and selling?
- 13:39SPEAKER_01: And then what is the solution to that?
- 13:42SPEAKER_00: Well, I mean, I think the first one that a lot of people struggle with is what should be my message, what should be my niche?
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: And I think in the show notes we'll put a cheat sheet for that to help you get started.
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: But one way to get started is to when it comes to picking a message, here's the thing a couple things.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: Number one, you are allowed to evolve your message over time.
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: So you can always start with something, see if you like it, and then adapt it.
- 14:07SPEAKER_00: So it's not the be all end all if you pick the wrong thing, you just need to make a decision.
- 14:12SPEAKER_00: Number two, I think you need to give yourself some criteria to decide your niche message.
- 14:17SPEAKER_00: So one thing you want to think about is what is the audience that number one has purchasing power?
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: Because it'll be a lot easier if you're selling to someone who can purchase your services compared to selling to something like teenagers, for example, where they're gonna have to ask their parents, there's extra hurdles to jump through.
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: Number two, are they easy to find?
- 14:37SPEAKER_00: Is this niche, am I just saying moms?
- 14:40SPEAKER_00: And moms can be kind of everywhere, and it's kind of hard to know for sure if someone's a mom by their LinkedIn profile, for example, or just by looking at their Facebook profile picture?
- 14:50SPEAKER_00: Or is it like something that's pretty findable in certain places?
- 14:53SPEAKER_00: Like I know what podcasts they'd listen to, I know what groups they'd be a part of, I'd be able to search their title on LinkedIn, for example.
- 15:00SPEAKER_00: And then the third thing is do they have a need or want that I solve?
- 15:05SPEAKER_00: And is there a big enough need or want, but not so big that they need something like therapy, or they're so exhausted, like if you're trying to reach new moms, for example, they might be so exhausted they just need a nap.
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: They don't need a coach, right?
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: So you gotta consider is this person at a stage where they can get support and they have a big enough issue or challenge?
- 15:23SPEAKER_00: And then the other thing is, is it a growing niche and make sure it's not something that's just kind of trendy or or something like that?
- 15:31SPEAKER_00: I think that's one big mistake I see is people just waiting to pick their niche or feeling like overthinking it or just picking something really hard to work with.
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: Another big mistake that I see is feeling like shiny object syndrome and jumping around and picking several different marketing tactics all at once and following through with none of them or expecting it to work after two weeks.
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: And then if it doesn't jumping to the next thing.
- 15:58SPEAKER_00: And so you never actually get to the point where you've been able to evaluate, refine, improve, and make it work because there's so many marketing strategies that can work.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: It's just that most people don't stay with it long enough and don't evaluate the data long enough to get it to work.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: They just think, oh, it's not working after three tries.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: So there must be something wrong.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: And I think people don't understand general statistics in marketing that like most people are gonna say no, but there's a percentage that will say yes, and there's ways you can refine that and all that kind of thing.
- 16:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah, totally.
- 16:32SPEAKER_01: It's funny.
- 16:33SPEAKER_01: I just started with my husband, because my husband works with me for me, whatever you want to call it.
- 16:39SPEAKER_01: And he does all of that looking at numbers and seeing what's working and what's not.
- 16:44SPEAKER_01: And it's illuminating because we go over numbers every Monday now, and that's something I didn't really do for the first few years of my business.
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: And it is kind of like flying blind.
- 16:55SPEAKER_01: I was fortunate to have a lot of success just based on my own intuition.
- 17:00SPEAKER_01: Basically, that was a lot of it.
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: I mean, I obviously did use strategies, but you know, missing that component of really being able to see from a numbers perspective, like what's working and what's not working, is huge.
- 17:14SPEAKER_01: And for somebody that has never run a business before, it's just not something that you would necessarily think of or know.
- 17:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah, definitely.
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: Like a lot of people don't realize that like a good email open rate is something like over 18%.
- 17:29SPEAKER_00: And it depends on the industry too.
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: But they're like, oh my God, I'm getting a 35% open rate or 40% open room.
- 17:36SPEAKER_00: That's awesome, nice.
- 17:38SPEAKER_00: Or like on a high-ticket sales call that maybe only 18 to 20% might convert.
- 17:45SPEAKER_00: Sometimes it'll be higher, depending on how much pre-qualifying you do and whatnot.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I think those stats are kind of important that people don't make it mean I'm a loser.
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: That's all me.
- 17:55SPEAKER_00: Like I'm doing it wrong.
- 17:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 17:56SPEAKER_01: Well, I find too that a lot of times what can happen, and I did this myself, is when something like quote unquote didn't work, I would take it personally, like there's something wrong with me, instead of it just being like, oh, I just need to get better at this thing.
- 18:13SPEAKER_01: For example, when I found out like what a normal conversion rate is for a free training or a low ticket training to like a longer program, you know, it's like two, three, five percent.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: So then I look at that and I'm like, oh, my stuff is always more than that.
- 18:29SPEAKER_01: I was like, oh, this is actually working, even though in my mind I thought it wasn't because I didn't realize what like a normal conversion rate was.
- 18:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's so true.
- 18:38SPEAKER_01: Like the high ticket thing is two to five percent, like you said.
- 18:42SPEAKER_01: For people that are more like healers, I would love your perspective on this because I work with a lot of healers.
- 18:48SPEAKER_01: And so much of what I end up doing with them is helping them to be able to like break down what they do and articulate it so that it is marketable.
- 18:58SPEAKER_01: What would you say for people who are in that position if like you're a healer and you do stuff like that?
- 19:03SPEAKER_01: Like, what are some ways that you can make your work marketable and articulate it in a way that people will want to buy?
- 19:11SPEAKER_00: This is a great question because a lot of times healers have their own language and way that they explain it and it's not applicable or gonna resonate with the general public or who their target audience is.
- 19:24SPEAKER_00: So, in other words, you might say, I help you heal from within and live up to your full potential.
- 19:31SPEAKER_00: But is anybody who sees that, first of all, you're competing now with Tony Robbins and people who can have these broad messages because they have millions of followers and they've grown it over time.
- 19:41SPEAKER_00: But like all of those people, including Tony Robbins, usually they started some with something more refined.
- 19:47SPEAKER_00: And originally, like Tony Robbins was he got a start, I believe, in doing hypnotherapy with smokers.
- 19:55SPEAKER_00: So he would help stop and quit smoking, which is a very specific problem and it's a very urgent problem, and it's something that people would be like, oh, okay, I'm gonna hire this guy.
- 20:04SPEAKER_00: So when it comes to healing and your job in that, I would brainstorm a couple things.
- 20:09SPEAKER_00: One, once you know who you want to really resonate with the most, if it's you really want to help executives who are in like high stress roles and feel like maybe they're lacking purpose or they feel like stuck in their all their responsibilities or whatever.
- 20:23SPEAKER_00: Okay, well, then from there, brainstorm what are their dream outcomes in their day-to-day life?
- 20:28SPEAKER_00: What are their pain points in their day-to-day life of what this stress is costing them?
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: What kind of things are they missing out on in their life, or what's the frustrations they're dealing with on a daily basis?
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: And also what's like the inconveniences, what are maybe concerns they would have about working with somebody like yourself or things they might not know.
- 20:48SPEAKER_00: And then from there, we want to start pulling together a message about who you help, what main dream urgent outcome or outcomes do you help with?
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: What problems do you help them avoid?
- 21:03SPEAKER_00: And what's unique about your approach, or how do you get them there faster, or how do you eliminate the inconveniences?
- 21:09SPEAKER_00: And you kind of wrap that up into your main message, and then you maybe have like themes for your content that you relate back to those main message.
- 21:19SPEAKER_00: And I think a lot of people maybe, for example, so this is the other thing.
- 21:24SPEAKER_00: You make sure you're using their language and how they describe their problems more so than what you think they should want and need, how you want them to describe it.
- 21:34SPEAKER_00: You really have to make it in their own words.
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:37SPEAKER_01: And I think that can be challenging.
- 21:38SPEAKER_01: Like for a lot of the women I work with, their work is like so intuitive and it's just like coming through their channel, or they've come through my certification program.
- 21:47SPEAKER_01: And now they've taken what I've taught them and are melding it with their own magic.
- 21:53SPEAKER_01: And it's like really being able to dial it in.
- 21:57SPEAKER_01: And I think what can be challenging for a lot of women.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: That position, too, is sometimes it can feel like they're oversimplifying what they do because what they do is like this huge, like energetic thing and this big experience.
- 22:10SPEAKER_01: And I will often feel that way too.
- 22:13SPEAKER_01: This feels like the way I'm describing it is such an oversimplification of the depth of what it is.
- 22:19SPEAKER_01: But I had to get over that because you need people to be able to understand it.
- 22:23SPEAKER_01: So what's your take on that?
- 22:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think that you have to get them in the door and then they see the full transformation.
- 22:31SPEAKER_00: So, in other words, like a lot of times I work with people who do weight loss coaching.
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: They really do health coaching and helping people like love their life more and heal from diet trauma and like all sorts of stuff.
- 22:42SPEAKER_00: But you have to meet your audience where they're at and what they understand and what they know their problem is.
- 22:48SPEAKER_00: And then when they're actually inside of your transformational journey, they realize there's so much more to it.
- 22:55SPEAKER_00: Other benefits come as a byproduct, etc.
- 22:57SPEAKER_00: So the way I see it is like your program or package is like what's inside of the gift.
- 23:04SPEAKER_00: And not everybody needs to know all the ins and outs of what's inside of the gift or how you get them there exactly in every step of the way.
- 23:12SPEAKER_00: But the wrapping paper on the gift is what you need to make sure is like enticing and gets the main message across and gets them interested in opening the gift, if that makes sense.
- 23:23SPEAKER_00: So meet your audience where they're at.
- 23:25SPEAKER_00: I work with my clients on getting clear on their niche, getting clear on their offer, setting up their social media profiles, nailing their sales calls, et cetera.
- 23:33SPEAKER_00: But the overarching message is helping you get clients.
- 23:36SPEAKER_00: And yes, there's a lot of steps to get to that point, but I don't need to put all of that in my message in one go.
- 23:43SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 23:44SPEAKER_01: And I think for the person who, and you probably see this too, who's kind of like they know they want to start working with people and they have a certain skill set, but are still kind of figuring out exactly how they're gonna work with people and what they're gonna do and what that's gonna look like.
- 24:00SPEAKER_01: So I feel like that can sometimes get in the way of bringing in clients because I know for me, now that I've worked with so many people, that's why I'm so good at articulating what I do, is because of all the experience I have working with people.
- 24:14SPEAKER_01: What would you say to the person who is kind of in that position where they're just starting out and they're still kind of, even though they have a skill set, they know they can help people, but they're still kind of wrapping their head around exactly what it is that they do.
- 24:26SPEAKER_01: What is the best way to start out with bringing in clients?
- 24:30SPEAKER_00: Well, I think if you're still figuring out your framework or your roadmap or, you know, getting more experience and wanting to get more testimonials and things like that, I think a great place to start would be two things.
- 24:43SPEAKER_00: One, doing a little bit of research with who you want to work with.
- 24:48SPEAKER_00: So maybe doing market research interviews or having a survey or something like that and making sure that there's some kind of thank you for people participating in that to gather like what they want and need and what you need to create or what you might need to explore in your service.
- 25:04SPEAKER_00: But then the other thing would be to have a test group or a beta group or something like that, where maybe you don't charge what you think you're gonna charge long term, but you do charge for it and use it to make it really special for the first group or person or whoever you're working with as a test client, get the feedback throughout, get your first case studies, and then you feel a little more confident in what you're marketing and selling in the future because you're creating it with someone as you go and really listening to the feedback.
- 25:37SPEAKER_00: I think a lot of people think they need to have it all figured out before they start.
- 25:41SPEAKER_00: And I think a lot of it is built when you're in the moment with your clients and realizing, okay, they need this, I'm gonna go make this.
- 25:49SPEAKER_00: My first group program, I ended up doing a test group or a beta program.
- 25:54SPEAKER_00: It was a lot cheaper than what it is now.
- 25:57SPEAKER_00: And I was taking feedback all the time, and I realized a lot of the stuff I had pre-made, they didn't need it, they didn't want it.
- 26:04SPEAKER_00: What happened was I kept noticing FAQs or everybody's saying the same thing about XYZ and they need this.
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: And then I ended up having to recreate everything.
- 26:13SPEAKER_00: So don't think that you need to have everything made.
- 26:16SPEAKER_00: It's probably going to be a work of art with the actual clients when you're working with them.
- 26:23SPEAKER_01: Oh my God, absolutely.
- 26:25SPEAKER_01: That's why like I have my certification, they have to do exchanges, and that's like a huge part of it, is because that's where you really learn like what you can do with people is when you're working with them.
- 26:37SPEAKER_01: So I feel like that is so important and you learn so much from just working with people.
- 26:43SPEAKER_01: So I have another question because I work with so many healers and I feel like there's so many things that I see people come up against.
- 26:49SPEAKER_01: And one of them is there's a lot of women who they do more of this like energy healing or quantum healing or whatever in whatever capacity, right?
- 26:59SPEAKER_01: And when they work with people, there'll be a lot of like different outcomes, maybe even different than the person thought.
- 27:08SPEAKER_01: You know, I came for this thing, but then I ended up realizing this and like doing this, or I came for this thing, but then I ended up getting something else.
- 27:18SPEAKER_01: Then I think the person, when they're talking about their work, has trouble when it comes to like, okay, well, what are the specific outcomes?
- 27:24SPEAKER_01: What are the specific results?
- 27:25SPEAKER_01: Because it can still seem a little bit elusive to them, or they're like, oh, well, I can just help you with anything.
- 27:31SPEAKER_01: And it's like, well, we can't sell that.
- 27:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah, definitely.
- 27:35SPEAKER_00: Are you saying like when that happens, how do you stay on course?
- 27:40SPEAKER_01: Or do you mean like Yeah, or just how do you best talk about the results?
- 27:44SPEAKER_01: Like it seems like there's so many different ones, and sometimes it's like your relationship gets better if you didn't come to me for that, or to that type of a thing.
- 27:53SPEAKER_00: Gotcha.
- 27:54SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 27:55SPEAKER_00: So with that, one thing I really like to do, especially for people who are still kind of figuring out their message, is have examples.
- 28:02SPEAKER_00: So it could be like breath work or whatever it is you're selling is customized to you, but examples of you know, past client results and past client focuses have been.
- 28:14SPEAKER_00: And then you list so-and-so went from blank to blank, or examples as like benefits, right?
- 28:21SPEAKER_00: The most important thing is just make sure that you are marketing the benefits more so than just we are doing private coaching and it is customized, and you get this many sessions and it's this many hours, and it's this, you know, many workbooks.
- 28:34SPEAKER_00: That's less of a focus than here are the key examples of benefits.
- 28:39SPEAKER_00: And I would probably recommend picking about no more than three different outcomes to focus on.
- 28:46SPEAKER_00: Most marketers will tell you, no, it needs to just be one.
- 28:49SPEAKER_00: It needs to just be this is my program about how to blank.
- 28:53SPEAKER_00: And my philosophy is I've had a lot of clients who are life coaches and more general life coaches, and they can list like there's relationships, there's health, there's wealth, there's all sorts of things.
- 29:04SPEAKER_00: And so if there's a couple of examples you've helped clients with within maybe one or three of those categories that people really want to need, that's okay to reference that.
- 29:12SPEAKER_00: So I just recommend showing examples, and it could be several examples to begin with.
- 29:16SPEAKER_00: Typically, the more narrow it gets, the better close rate you get because people are like, oh, this is what I need.
- 29:22SPEAKER_00: This is more specific.
- 29:24SPEAKER_00: And they'll just trust that you're the expert on that particular thing.
- 29:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 29:28SPEAKER_01: And I find too, it's interesting because I used to be afraid of being really specific.
- 29:35SPEAKER_01: Obviously, I can help people with multiple different things.
- 29:37SPEAKER_01: However, I also find that even when I am specific, people will reach out and ask if they can work with me, even if they don't have that particular thing going on.
- 29:48SPEAKER_01: For example, if I'm talking about things related to business, I will always have people reach out and be like, well, I don't have a business.
- 29:55SPEAKER_01: And I'm always like, Yeah, I also work with people who don't have businesses, but the majority of them do, which is why I speak to that person all the time.
- 30:03SPEAKER_01: But I feel like I always tell people that because if you're afraid to be specific, it doesn't mean you're going to ostracize people.
- 30:12SPEAKER_00: That's really true.
- 30:13SPEAKER_00: I actually noticed the same thing.
- 30:15SPEAKER_00: When I first started in 2017, full-time in my business, I was only saying I work with health and wellness coaches.
- 30:22SPEAKER_00: Now I say service providers online because that's usually who I work with.
- 30:27SPEAKER_00: And yeah, it's a lot of health and wellness coaches, but it's also life coaches and other things, and it's expanded throughout the years.
- 30:33SPEAKER_00: But when I was first just saying those people, I still got messages from people saying, oh, but do you work with so-and-so's too?
- 30:40SPEAKER_00: Or, oh, this content's really resonating with me about consistency or whatever it was.
- 30:45SPEAKER_00: And the other thing is, I think a lot of people get worried about marketing results because they're like, oh, I'm newer.
- 30:51SPEAKER_00: I can't say I can help you generate blah, blah, blah dollars or find your next soulmate yet, or whatever it is.
- 30:59SPEAKER_00: And my suggestion there is start with a key benefit that connects to those things.
- 31:04SPEAKER_00: So, in other words, my first message wasn't like, oh, get to tanque months or whatever that was, because I wasn't at that point where I got clients there yet.
- 31:13SPEAKER_00: And so it started with just being like, I help you with your time management habits, your consistency and your confidence on camera and with online visibility so that you can start booking more clients, start making more money in your business, things like that.
- 31:29SPEAKER_00: Because those were the foundational pieces that allowed my clients to go do that.
- 31:33SPEAKER_00: And then I started working with more people, they started getting more results.
- 31:37SPEAKER_00: And then I was able to expand my net message and say I could get different results because I was getting different results with clients.
- 31:43SPEAKER_00: So I think two things out of what you just said.
- 31:46SPEAKER_00: Number one, you will earn respect, even if you're picking a specific niche, there will be people outside of that niche who will still respect you, check you out, be interested, maybe reach out.
- 31:57SPEAKER_00: And number two, pick a message you can stand by to begin with and be open to evolving it, but do connect it to one of the big things that people want health, wealth, significance, or status, convenience or save time, things like that.
- 32:10SPEAKER_00: And then the last thing, there was one other thing I wanted to mention about this.
- 32:13SPEAKER_00: Locally and behind the scenes, if you're so worried about picking a specific niche, you are allowed to have sub-niches or change your messaging for certain situations or guest talks or opportunities.
- 32:27SPEAKER_00: So, in other words, I'm on this podcast right now and I work with service providers, but I was on a very niche podcast for somebody who works with bridal seamstresses recently.
- 32:38SPEAKER_00: And I was still able to share social media tips and for that group.
- 32:43SPEAKER_00: And locally, I've given talks for realtors who is not usually my dominant niche, but I've still worked with them, right?
- 32:50SPEAKER_00: So the point here is behind the scenes, if you're gonna go out and try to form local partnerships or do a local workshop or guest train for somebody else's audience, you can tailor the message for that if you wanted to.
- 33:04SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 33:05SPEAKER_01: I was actually just on a like a health-related podcast, like more like weight loss and like metabolic health, which isn't usually my niche, but I was able to speak about breath work and the impacts of like emotions on gut health and stuff like that, and also my own experience with that.
- 33:22SPEAKER_01: So it was like such a different audience than I usually speak to, but it still fit so well.
- 33:29SPEAKER_01: And it was cool to be in front of a different type of audience too, which I think is also important.
- 33:35SPEAKER_01: Definitely.
- 33:36SPEAKER_01: I think this is all really important.
- 33:37SPEAKER_01: And I'm curious to know too, just from your own story, what were some of the challenges that you came up against when you were starting your business?
- 33:46SPEAKER_01: And then, like, how does that inform like the stuff that you teach people now?
- 33:51SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 33:52SPEAKER_00: I mean, there's been so many challenges, but I will say a couple of ones.
- 33:58SPEAKER_00: Number one, I think early on challenge was I got things that I didn't need before I needed them.
- 34:06SPEAKER_00: So, in other words, had I worked with a mentor or business coach or whatever, I would have known I didn't need to design my whole entire website and really focus on fancy graphics and logos and all that stuff before I got my first paying clients, because what ended up happening is I had to change the messaging once I knew what actually worked and redesign everything.
- 34:28SPEAKER_00: So I think it's important to create a minimum viable product first, like a landing page or a simple website page that doesn't need to be fully developed yet.
- 34:39SPEAKER_00: Get it to a point where you can make your first sales with it if you needed to.
- 34:43SPEAKER_00: Then you can reinvest in what's actually working.
- 34:46SPEAKER_00: The other thing is the same thing with like ads and softwares and things like that.
- 34:50SPEAKER_00: I see people doing ads and buying fancy softwares before they even have proof of concept, before they even know if the audience wants what they have to offer, before they've made any organic sales and known something that converted.
- 35:02SPEAKER_00: So then again, they waste months and time and trying to amplify something that they didn't even know if it works yet or not.
- 35:10SPEAKER_00: And then I think another one would be kind of what you were saying earlier, like making things too personal.
- 35:16SPEAKER_00: I think it's really easy in the beginning of your business, especially when it's a learning curve and you're overwhelmed and you're putting so much heart and soul into your business.
- 35:25SPEAKER_00: It's very easy to take everything very personally and to take a very long time to recover from like a rejection on a discovery call or a no response to certain things.
- 35:37SPEAKER_00: And for me, that would burn me out of the business.
- 35:42SPEAKER_00: And then I wouldn't be consistent and then I wouldn't get results.
- 35:45SPEAKER_00: I kept getting no's because I was not very consistent, right?
- 35:49SPEAKER_00: Or I would reject myself ahead of time, being like, oh, it's my bother.
- 35:54SPEAKER_00: I'm just not even gonna try doing that because they're probably gonna say no or whatever.
- 35:58SPEAKER_00: And so I had to really separate this is my business.
- 36:01SPEAKER_00: This is my, yes, I can love it, yes, I can be passionate about it, but this is my entity that's separate from me to make an impact, to help blank, blank, blank, and focus on the helping that I was doing and the audience and them and seeing it as data and feedback and not, oh, this is tied to my self-worth or how good of a person I am or whatever else.
- 36:22SPEAKER_00: And the last thing I would say is expect it to take longer than you think and or know that the seeds you're planting, they may not come back to you in the ways you think, but they will come back to you and they do accumulate over time.
- 36:35SPEAKER_00: I think a lot of people are very transactional in their minds when they start their business, like, oh, well, if I do this, then I expect this back.
- 36:43SPEAKER_00: And I think that if you get into it with that mindset, you're gonna really burn out fast because it doesn't work like that.
- 36:50SPEAKER_00: There will be things like that that work out, but there's gonna be a lot of things that you're just planting seeds and waiting for it to compound.
- 36:58SPEAKER_00: And so you have to go in knowing like all the value I put out comes back to me.
- 37:02SPEAKER_00: It may not be in the ways I think, but I do know that it comes back to me and keep going with that mindset.
- 37:08SPEAKER_01: I love that.
- 37:08SPEAKER_01: And that's something I would say all the time around like it's you're planning seeds and you're like investing in your business, but it doesn't always come back to you exactly in the way that you think and it's not transactional.
- 37:21SPEAKER_01: And it can be sometimes.
- 37:23SPEAKER_01: And I think that gradually over time, when you get better and better at your message and at marketing and selling, it can be more like that, but it's not always like that, especially in the beginning.
- 37:36SPEAKER_01: And I think it's like people do see it transactionally, and that's just a mistake because it ends up really affecting the other thing you said, like your self-worth.
- 37:48SPEAKER_01: And if you tie yourself to it, it's like it becomes this thing that then you stop because you're like, oh my God, this isn't working.
- 37:56SPEAKER_01: There's something wrong with me.
- 37:57SPEAKER_01: And it kind of like bogs you down and you can't move forward.
- 38:01SPEAKER_01: And I think that's where a lot of people get is they like start to move forward and then they get bogged down by all of that stuff, and it's really hard to keep that momentum going.
- 38:11SPEAKER_01: So I completely agree with you.
- 38:13SPEAKER_01: And I think that it's so important to just look at it as like data.
- 38:17SPEAKER_01: Okay, well, I just have to get better at this, or oh, this didn't work.
- 38:20SPEAKER_01: So I'm gonna try this.
- 38:21SPEAKER_01: And I'm making it sound really easy.
- 38:24SPEAKER_00: No, no, I think you're on to something there, and I think it's really important too, as you're saying, like when you're planting seeds and you can't see it yet, you really have to get good being your own boss and managing yourself to track your results period and your targets and your process.
- 38:40SPEAKER_00: So, what I mean by that is if your goal is to make X dollars or book X clients, you can't every day track, like, okay, did I do that?
- 38:48SPEAKER_00: No, because it's like a longer build.
- 38:50SPEAKER_00: You're building it up, right?
- 38:52SPEAKER_00: But what you can track is did I promote myself to three podcasts like to be on, because that is a way to get in front of a new audience?
- 39:00SPEAKER_00: Did I make an impact today with my post?
- 39:03SPEAKER_00: Did I like whatever it is that you can actually track as a result or target on the way to your goal is really important to remind yourself you're doing the things.
- 39:12SPEAKER_00: And the other thing I'll say is when you get stuck in that mindset of like, why is it so hard?
- 39:17SPEAKER_00: Why is this taking so long?
- 39:18SPEAKER_00: Why are they not, you know, getting back to me?
- 39:21SPEAKER_00: You really want to train your brain, being your own boss, to be solutions-oriented and shift the questions to like, what can I do to make it inevitable that I'll hit my goal?
- 39:31SPEAKER_00: What can I do to make the belief in myself inevitable that I'm gonna do what it takes to hit my goal?
- 39:38SPEAKER_00: Why are all the reasons why someone would want to work with me compared to why I'm so inexperienced?
- 39:43SPEAKER_00: Nobody wants this, whatever.
- 39:44SPEAKER_00: So shifting those questions day to day.
- 39:47SPEAKER_00: And the last thing I'll say that's a big side note is learning how to manage yourself as your own boss is a real transition for a lot of people.
- 39:56SPEAKER_00: So giving yourself structure, time batching, expecting things to take longer than you think they're gonna take you, like being a nice boss to yourself, like giving yourself some time off on the weekends or some way to unplug.
- 40:10SPEAKER_00: I think that's another really important point that a lot of people they just transition into entrepreneurship and then it's like, like they are their own boss, and so there's no structure and there's no anything like that.
- 40:21SPEAKER_00: And they get a little bit, I guess, burnt out or overwhelmed, not only with the actions they're doing, but just with their own mindset and what they're thinking on a daily basis that's wearing them out.
- 40:31SPEAKER_01: I agree.
- 40:32SPEAKER_01: And the other thing I see people doing is because they are still kind of in that employee mindset if they work with a coach, or I've even even seen people do it with their assistant, where they like put them in the boss position.
- 40:48SPEAKER_01: Like I've seen people do it where they like, well, ask their assistant like their advice.
- 40:52SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, that's your assistant.
- 40:53SPEAKER_01: You're supposed to be telling her what to do.
- 40:55SPEAKER_01: I just feel like just because you like became your own boss doesn't mean like you still have to then actually think about what that means to be the authority and leader in your life and in your business.
- 41:09SPEAKER_01: Because if you don't, you're gonna keep yourself in that employee role and then still outsource source your power.
- 41:15SPEAKER_01: Like I have had people do that as clients where they're kind of coming to me as almost like I'm their boss, like telling me like what they did in a day, or not there's anything wrong with that, but it's just the energy of it, right?
- 41:26SPEAKER_01: Where I'm like, okay, like I'm here to support you and guide you, but I'm not your boss.
- 41:31SPEAKER_01: So I think people have to get out of that mindset.
- 41:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 41:35SPEAKER_00: And I think it's important to remember people cannot read your mind.
- 41:39SPEAKER_00: So any of this, oh, I thought they would have known that, or I thought my assistant would be able to figure that part out.
- 41:45SPEAKER_00: No, you have to no one can read your mind, including your clients, including your audience who you think you they've seen your past posts or they've read your message before, they don't remember.
- 41:56SPEAKER_00: Your people on your team.
- 41:57SPEAKER_00: So always just remind yourself like, have I clearly communicated what I need to communicate, or am I expecting people to read my mind?
- 42:04SPEAKER_00: Because you're gonna always be disappointed if you're assuming that somebody has heard your message before and they haven't, or that your team member knows how to do X, Y, Z, things like that.
- 42:16SPEAKER_01: It's so funny because my husband and I always have this argument around, I can't read your mind.
- 42:22SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, but I just explained it to you.
- 42:24SPEAKER_01: And he's like, No, I need you, because he likes to see everything visually.
- 42:28SPEAKER_01: We had this argument just this morning when we were like having our Monday meeting and like going over stuff on Trello, and then I was like explaining one thing I wanted him to do, which in my mind feels super simple.
- 42:40SPEAKER_01: And he's like, I can't, you think I'm in your head, I'm not in your head, please write it out.
- 42:44SPEAKER_01: And it's like little things like that, where I still will think that I explained it, but I didn't explain it.
- 42:52SPEAKER_01: And you really have to learn to get so much better with communication.
- 42:56SPEAKER_01: And that was one thing for me with having assistance where I realized I was not communicating well and I was not like in my authority around that.
- 43:05SPEAKER_01: And I think that that's something that is another learning curve for entrepreneurs is like communicating with authority is not easy.
- 43:14SPEAKER_00: No, it's not.
- 43:15SPEAKER_00: And it's not something usually we as the if you're passionate about what you do and like you're a service provider, it's not really why we signed up for entrepreneurship in the first place, but it is an unfortunate part that we have to acknowledge is part of our job now when we're choosing to have our own business.
- 43:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah, absolutely.
- 43:34SPEAKER_01: So, what would you say too to the person who's struggling with more of that leadership role or like that authority role?
- 43:42SPEAKER_00: Well, I think there's a couple things.
- 43:45SPEAKER_00: One, you gotta come up with what are the values you want to lead by, and how can you instill the values to your team so that they can make better decisions without you sometimes.
- 43:56SPEAKER_00: So, example, think about like Zappos.
- 44:00SPEAKER_00: They're very big on customer focus.
- 44:02SPEAKER_00: Customers always come first.
- 44:03SPEAKER_00: The customers always write.
- 44:05SPEAKER_00: Stuff like that, I'm sure was instilled in their company values.
- 44:08SPEAKER_00: And so naturally, the team members, when they have a decision to make about should I give this client a refund?
- 44:14SPEAKER_00: Should I do this or that?
- 44:16SPEAKER_00: They don't always have to go to the boss and be like, well, what should I do?
- 44:18SPEAKER_00: No, they're like, okay, wait, customers always come first.
- 44:20SPEAKER_00: So what would I want to do if I was in their situation?
- 44:23SPEAKER_00: Should probably refund them, like, or whatever.
- 44:25SPEAKER_00: So the more you can give your team like either values or decision criteria to run with, the better, because then the more self-sufficient they can become.
- 44:35SPEAKER_00: And then I think the other thing is just this is why what you do is so important with your breath work stuff.
- 44:41SPEAKER_00: If you're leading a team and all that and you're bringing your own junk and your own insecurities and your own, what are they thinking about me?
- 44:49SPEAKER_00: Do they like me?
- 44:50SPEAKER_00: Stuff like that.
- 44:51SPEAKER_00: It's going to be hard to lead and focus on them and focus on the impact you want to make and the team and all that because you're just in your own head.
- 44:59SPEAKER_00: So you really got to do your own self-coaching before you go into anything with your work so that you can actually be there involved with the team and not overthinking things and all of that.
- 45:09SPEAKER_01: Oh my God.
- 45:09SPEAKER_01: It's so funny because I definitely struggle with that when I hired my first assistant.
- 45:14SPEAKER_01: Like I would be scared that I was like asking too much of her or I was being too like needy.
- 45:21SPEAKER_01: Here's another one that was so stupid.
- 45:23SPEAKER_01: I like wouldn't want to give too many details for things, even though that's really important, because I didn't want to seem like I was too like needy or too bitchy or something.
- 45:34SPEAKER_01: So I didn't give a ton of details.
- 45:36SPEAKER_01: And then what would happen is she wouldn't do exactly the way I wanted.
- 45:40SPEAKER_01: And then I would either have to like change it myself or I would feel bad going back and asking her.
- 45:45SPEAKER_01: And like when I think back on that, I was like, oh my God, that was so ridiculous because it was counterproductive to my business, but it was just one of those leadership things that I wasn't yet comfortable with.
- 45:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 45:58SPEAKER_00: And then you had to end up giving more direction after, and then it still met the same concern you had to begin with, which is I don't want to give too much, but you still ended up giving it to her later.
- 46:08SPEAKER_00: So I think the other thing that's similar for me, like I'm very direct and I kind of get right into things and I don't like sugarcoat things or I don't, I'm not big on like long time of small talk.
- 46:20SPEAKER_00: And so when I bring on a team member, I sometimes have to say, hey, just so you know, like I'm pretty direct.
- 46:26SPEAKER_00: If I share feedback or something I want change or whatever, and I'm not adding extra emojis to it or like other things like that, I'm not mad, I'm not upset.
- 46:36SPEAKER_00: This is just kind of like my communication style.
- 46:39SPEAKER_00: So I think little things like that that you can do that if you're concerned about things being taken a certain way, that can help just that clear communication.
- 46:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I love that if you like say that up front, because I think those are things that just be having a background as like a people pleaser.
- 46:55SPEAKER_01: And I think a lot of women who are in more of the healing professions can relate to that.
- 47:01SPEAKER_01: You don't like confrontation or you don't want to upset anyone, but then that is actually not the greatest thing when you are running a company.
- 47:09SPEAKER_01: So that's really important.
- 47:12SPEAKER_01: I'm curious to know too, is there anything that we didn't discuss when it comes to like for that person who is like thinking about starting a business or just starting a business, like any other important stuff that they should know initially when it comes to just getting themselves out of the starting gates?
- 47:31SPEAKER_00: Well, I think the two biggest killers of business dreams, especially for beginners, is perfectionism and overthinking.
- 47:40SPEAKER_00: So with overthinking, one thing that I recommend is just make a decision and line up with it and make it the best you could have done.
- 47:50SPEAKER_00: And you know that you can always adapt, evolve, pivot, et cetera.
- 47:53SPEAKER_00: It doesn't have to be perfect at the first get-go.
- 47:55SPEAKER_00: And so give yourself some kind of deadline or criteria for deciding something and then just do it.
- 48:00SPEAKER_00: And I think the other thing with overthinking and going perfectionism, because they're kind of linked, a lot of times you're overthinking because you want it to be perfect and you want it to be really good and well received.
- 48:10SPEAKER_00: And a really helpful cognitive behavioral thing that has stuck with me is to get started, especially if you're a perfectionist, is always just ask yourself, can I just?
- 48:21SPEAKER_00: Can I just open the document today and plan an outline?
- 48:24SPEAKER_00: Can I just do the post?
- 48:26SPEAKER_00: And even if it's not perfect or whatever it is, I can at least start it and then I could post it tomorrow or whatever.
- 48:32SPEAKER_00: Like give yourself little level ups.
- 48:34SPEAKER_00: And a lot of people think, oh, it's too small to matter.
- 48:37SPEAKER_00: Oh, me just deciding to list myself on a directory or something is too small to matter.
- 48:43SPEAKER_00: And the truth is, every little thing you do every day is what makes someone consistent and successful.
- 48:50SPEAKER_00: It's the people who are perfectionists and procrastinating andor waiting till something's perfect to release it into the world that never actually gain experience, gain traction, and move forward.
- 49:01SPEAKER_00: So highly recommend just starting to do little level ups.
- 49:06SPEAKER_00: And the book finished by John A.
- 49:08SPEAKER_00: Cuff is also really good for perfectionists.
- 49:11SPEAKER_01: It's so funny.
- 49:12SPEAKER_01: I will have so many people give me these really amazing stories and reasons as to why they need to wait four months to launch their program.
- 49:22SPEAKER_01: And I always joke where I'm like, you really had me there.
- 49:25SPEAKER_01: Like I was really with you.
- 49:26SPEAKER_01: I was really agreeing with you.
- 49:28SPEAKER_01: Like it's your daughter's wedding and your cousin's getting married, also, and you have a vacation.
- 49:34SPEAKER_01: There's all these things.
- 49:35SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, but no, we're not going to wait four months.
- 49:39SPEAKER_00: We're gonna do it now.
- 49:41SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 49:42SPEAKER_00: To me, those reasons are exact reasons why you should get started.
- 49:46SPEAKER_00: Because are forever in your business, are you gonna postpone things when life is happening?
- 49:51SPEAKER_00: No, you have to learn how to have a business with life long term if you want this to be your job.
- 49:57SPEAKER_00: So I think it's actually better to plunge in when you've got a lot on your plate and whatnot and learn how to juggle things and learn how to make it manageable.
- 50:05SPEAKER_00: Because that's the other thing.
- 50:06SPEAKER_00: People think they need to have this perfect calendar and be putting all the time in or all or nothing type of mindset.
- 50:12SPEAKER_00: No, you have to learn how to juggle it with life.
- 50:15SPEAKER_00: And the seasons are gonna look different.
- 50:16SPEAKER_00: And sometimes it's gonna look like 30 minutes a day and starting your side hustle or whatever.
- 50:21SPEAKER_00: And other times you'll have seasons where you can focus more, but it's gonna be a lot easier to A, move forward when you start now and B, in the easy seasons, if you learned how to manage your business in the busy seasons, the seasons where it's not as busy are gonna be such a breeze and you're gonna be able to do so much more.
- 50:38SPEAKER_00: So totally.
- 50:39SPEAKER_01: And I love what you said about the little things because I think people can get so overwhelmed at I have to have all these things set up and I have to have a website.
- 50:47SPEAKER_01: And like I always tell people like, all you need is a calendarly link and PayPal, that's all you need to start.
- 50:54SPEAKER_01: Don't overthink it.
- 50:56SPEAKER_01: And that was one thing for me that I feel like I really did well was like anytime someone talked about something that would have been like 10 steps ahead of me, I kind of like blocked it out.
- 51:06SPEAKER_01: Like I would be like, okay, maybe someday, but like I'm not gonna sit here being like, oh my God, I need to do this.
- 51:12SPEAKER_01: Like I literally would just be looking at, okay, well, what is the next thing I need to do in order to like do this next thing and just keep it where I'm just like taking one step at a time.
- 51:22SPEAKER_01: And I feel like that was so helpful and not getting overwhelmed.
- 51:26SPEAKER_01: And then when it was like time to because your website too is always gonna change, you're always changing it.
- 51:32SPEAKER_01: To create a whole website before you even do anything is pointless because you're gonna keep changing it.
- 51:37SPEAKER_01: So you don't even need that, like you said, and it's just like you just get the bare minimum that you need and don't worry about anything else.
- 51:44SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 51:45SPEAKER_00: Totally agree.
- 51:46SPEAKER_00: And for those of you who get excited about future ideas or you hear something and you're like, yeah, but I'm not there yet.
- 51:53SPEAKER_00: Keeping a someday list or like a brain dump list of just like future things you want to revisit can be really helpful for those of you who like to get ahead of yourself because it allows you to park the idea, not close yourself off to things, but it does let you just stay focused on the now, but still have that saved for later.
- 52:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I love that.
- 52:14SPEAKER_01: And then another question I love your perspective on too.
- 52:17SPEAKER_01: I know we don't have a ton more time, but when it comes to like for the healer or the people that you typically work with, what would you say is the best way to start out offer-wise?
- 52:27SPEAKER_01: Because I know some people are like, just start out with like private clients.
- 52:30SPEAKER_01: Some people are like, no, you should make a high-end offer, like group offer.
- 52:34SPEAKER_01: What's your take on that?
- 52:35SPEAKER_00: You need to sell an offer that you feel 100% confident saying the price out loud, saying the benefits out loud, etc., without adding, but but little because I hear a lot of people who well pick a price and pick an offer, but they're not matched up with it yet.
- 52:52SPEAKER_00: And so then when they deliver it, they're like, their voice is so shaky, they're not convicted.
- 52:56SPEAKER_00: And it's awkward.
- 52:58SPEAKER_00: It is awkward.
- 52:59SPEAKER_00: So my answer will be different for everyone, but for most clients, I think having private clients first can be really useful because number one, if you ever do plan on scaling to a course or group, those private clients are going to tell you exactly what you're gonna start to notice the themes of like, gosh, I am answering this question.
- 53:18SPEAKER_00: Every client, or they all need this resource, or everybody tends to need blank first.
- 53:24SPEAKER_00: And so you start to get an order and a structure for a course or a group program naturally by working with a lot of private clients.
- 53:30SPEAKER_00: So that's the first thing I would say, probably private clients.
- 53:33SPEAKER_00: Number two, I would highly recommend starting with a hot, like a three-month offer or a six-month offer or something like that, where it is longer term and offering that first, but then always being able to have an entry-level offer, like a downsell if someone's not ready for the longer term commitment.
- 53:51SPEAKER_00: I think a lot of people just start with the downsell.
- 53:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 53:54SPEAKER_00: When some people would have been ready to do a longer term thing.
- 53:58SPEAKER_00: If you this is your business and you don't have a huge volume of people coming in, it's better to work longer term with less clients and quality over quantity, in my opinion, than trying to sell everybody this$27 book or offer where you need a ton of people going through your funnel for it to really make a ton of sense for you.
- 54:16SPEAKER_00: So that's one thing.
- 54:17SPEAKER_00: Unless my only caveat to that is if you're trying to get the test clients, trying to get some quick case studies and testimonials, trying to make it as no-brainer as possible and you don't feel confident and your confidence and conviction is not behind a three-month or six-month thing, then do pick maybe an entry-level offer that's in the$400 to$600 range, perhaps, and offer that first if you want to get your feet wet.
- 54:43SPEAKER_01: I love that.
- 54:43SPEAKER_01: And that's very similar to what I always tell people too, just because that was helpful for me in the beginning, like just to have private clients and you learn so much from working with them.
- 54:55SPEAKER_01: And then that informs your group offers.
- 54:58SPEAKER_01: And I feel like it's so much easier to sell private packages because it's you only need one person.
- 55:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 55:05unknown: Right.
- 55:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 55:07SPEAKER_01: So it's so much easier.
- 55:09SPEAKER_01: So I love that.
- 55:10SPEAKER_01: Is there anything else that we miss that you feel like is is important before we start to wrap up here?
- 55:16SPEAKER_00: I think it's just really important that if you're going to start your own business or be your own boss, that you have the willingness to feel bigger feelings than ever before.
- 55:29SPEAKER_00: And solution-oriented.
- 55:31SPEAKER_00: Oh yes, we love good feelings.
- 55:34SPEAKER_00: Yes, solution-orientedness.
- 55:36SPEAKER_00: So not staying stuck in the stuck questions we talked about earlier.
- 55:39SPEAKER_00: Like, why is this so hard?
- 55:40SPEAKER_00: Why me?
- 55:42SPEAKER_00: Those kinds of questions.
- 55:43SPEAKER_00: We want to ship the questions.
- 55:44SPEAKER_00: And then the last thing I think is what you said before, which is all you need to get started is an offer and a way for people to pay you.
- 55:52SPEAKER_00: And it can keep growing and evolving from there.
- 55:54SPEAKER_00: But you stop telling yourself, like, oh, I can't do it because blank, or I still need blank, or my logo's not done.
- 56:01SPEAKER_00: So I definitely can't launch.
- 56:03SPEAKER_00: Those are probably excuses.
- 56:06SPEAKER_01: A hundred percent.
- 56:07SPEAKER_01: And I totally agree.
- 56:08SPEAKER_01: I think that, like, of course, as we grow, the branding matters and all of that stuff matters.
- 56:15SPEAKER_01: But in the beginning, it definitely doesn't because you don't even know.
- 56:19SPEAKER_01: Not that you don't know who you are, but like your brand like develops as you develop like your work and stuff.
- 56:24SPEAKER_01: So I feel like it doesn't even matter in the beginning.
- 56:27SPEAKER_01: And all of those things that we overthink don't really matter in the beginning.
- 56:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 56:32SPEAKER_00: And if you are stuck on that overthinking your message itself and what you want to stand for, and you're stuck on even creating your offer because you don't know your niche or your overall elevator pitch or anything like that, or what makes you different.
- 56:45SPEAKER_00: I do have a free gift if that's okay for the audience.
- 56:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah, for sure.
- 56:49SPEAKER_00: We'd love that.
- 56:50SPEAKER_00: And we'll link it below.
- 56:52SPEAKER_00: Awesome.
- 56:52SPEAKER_00: So that's my free message mastery and niche cheat sheet.
- 56:56SPEAKER_00: And it will just take you through like how do you hone in on your elevator pitch?
- 57:00SPEAKER_00: What do you want to stand for?
- 57:01SPEAKER_00: You know, that kind of thing.
- 57:02SPEAKER_01: That's so important.
- 57:03SPEAKER_01: And it's funny because I actually didn't do any of that in the beginning.
- 57:07SPEAKER_01: And, you know, I think I naturally did it, but I didn't intentionally do it.
- 57:11SPEAKER_01: But, you know, in the last year or so, I've been more doing a lot of those logical, logical things, marketing things.
- 57:19SPEAKER_01: And even to do that stuff over and over again is so important because your work evolves, your work changes.
- 57:27SPEAKER_01: And then for me, I started to notice that there's like multiple different kinds of like ideal clients that I speak to.
- 57:34SPEAKER_01: And the clearer I am on that, and the the more that I like let that evolve, the better my messaging can be.
- 57:42SPEAKER_01: And then the better my offers can be too.
- 57:44SPEAKER_01: So, like, even if it's somebody who's already has a business, doing those things over and over again, I think is really important.
- 57:50SPEAKER_01: Definitely.
- 57:51SPEAKER_01: Well, thank you so much for being here and sharing all of your wisdom.
