- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, Demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Adam Smith in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Hi, it's Adam here. And in this hypnosis session,
- 0:43it's all about anger and harnessing anger.
- 0:47And I actually think that anger is a resource state.
- 0:51It's not something negative. When people talk about anger
- 0:54management, they kind of miss the point.
- 0:56Anger can be very, very useful if someone is violating your
- 1:02boundaries, if they're being rude or disrespectful, if they
- 1:06are putting you or someone that you love in danger.
- 1:10Anger can be quite a natural, healthy reaction in certain
- 1:15situations. The problem with anger is if it
- 1:18gets misplaced, if you're getting angry from a place of
- 1:22certainty rather than as a natural form of protection.
- 1:27So this hypnosis session is about harnessing anger.
- 1:31I filmed this when I was out in Dubai a few weeks ago and it was
- 1:37recorded not in my studio environment on my just portable
- 1:40microphone. And I was working with a client
- 1:43that certain things were triggering them.
- 1:46And it was a feeling of a lack of fairness and exploitation.
- 1:51And those were valid emotions. They wanted to feel those
- 1:54emotions, but it was weighing on them.
- 1:56It was getting them all worked up and riled up.
- 1:59And that's when anxiety is no longer useful.
- 2:02So if you can connect to either anxiety that comes from things
- 2:06outside of your control, or the anger of unfairness or a lack of
- 2:10justification creates, you might get some value from this
- 2:13session. It was created for an
- 2:15individual. Their situation is probably not
- 2:17your situation. So if you like the idea of
- 2:19something bespoke, there is a way of working with me.
- 2:23And you can find those details in the description for this
- 2:27episode. For now, though, find a quiet,
- 2:30comfortable place where you won't be distracted or
- 2:32disturbed. Relax.
- 2:34And enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in, and as
- 2:48you breathe in, breathe in that resourceful feeling of calm and
- 2:53relaxation. And as you exhale, just allow
- 3:00any feelings of worry, stress, or tension to feel like it's
- 3:05leaving your body in your outward breath, breathing and
- 3:10relaxation and exhaling tension, just allowing each breath to
- 3:19take you deeper and deeper, relaxed now.
- 3:28And I want you to scan your body for any clues of tension,
- 3:31stress, the kind of things that cortisol might enhance, like
- 3:36muscle tension. That's it.
- 3:41And as you exhale, just give permission to release, like a
- 3:46release valve, breathing in relaxation.
- 3:50And as you exhale, allowing any stress, any anger, any pressure,
- 3:57any annoyance to just feel like it's leaving your body in that
- 4:04outward breath. That's it, deeper and deeper.
- 4:11Relax now. In fact, the deeper you breathe,
- 4:17the more relaxed you feel. And the more relaxed you feel
- 4:22the deeper you breathe. Each breath takes you deeper
- 4:26than the last. And as you breathe in and
- 4:30breathe out, just take a moment to settle, to accept.
- 4:37And as you notice you're breathing, going deeper and
- 4:39longer, there's nothing you need to do, nothing to force, just
- 4:47allowing each breath to be exactly as it is.
- 4:53You already know that control doesn't begin with effort.
- 4:57Control begins with awareness, and you might begin to imagine
- 5:06or simply sense that you are walking towards a place of
- 5:11immense importance, a place that few people ever truly access.
- 5:21I want you to imagine, deep within your own mind, a control
- 5:26room, not outside, but within you.
- 5:32I want you to imagine standing in front of the door to your own
- 5:35control room, and as I countdown from 5 to 1, you will imagine
- 5:40opening the door and walking into your control room, giving
- 5:46you a sense that you are able to see and experience triggers that
- 5:54are normally unconscious. But standing in front of the
- 5:58door, 5 putting your hand on the handle, 4 turning the handle, 3
- 6:03opening the door, two walking through the door, and one
- 6:11closing the door behind you. And just imagine being in your
- 6:16own control room. Maybe it's futuristic, maybe
- 6:22mechanical. Maybe it looks like an air
- 6:26traffic Control Center. Or perhaps something more
- 6:31functional, Mechanical, hydraulic gauges, switches.
- 6:39But as you explore your own control room, notice this is not
- 6:47chaos and this is not danger. Here within the control room.
- 6:54It's precision. Every dial, dashboard, lever,
- 6:59every system is designed for one purpose, to regulate your power.
- 7:12And I want you to get a sense of just how powerful you are, your
- 7:17intelligence, your experience, your emotional range and your
- 7:25capability to do what needs to be done.
- 7:31And as you look around, perhaps somewhere, maybe the centre of
- 7:35this control room, perhaps you notice a powerful energy source,
- 7:43a life force, steady, intense, alive, maybe like a nuclear
- 7:52reactor within you. Not wild, not unpredictable.
- 7:59Just powerful. And you may recognise it.
- 8:06Maybe this is that energy that you once called anger.
- 8:13But here, within the holistic confines of your control room,
- 8:20it looks different. Here it is contained, focused,
- 8:28available. It's because nuclear power can
- 8:32be used to destroy cities, but they can also power cities.
- 8:41And there was a time when it may have felt that that energy could
- 8:46erupt, spill over, take control. But I wonder if you could look
- 8:53at this energy in a new way, almost like seeing the truth
- 9:01more clearly. What if it was never the energy?
- 9:08What if it was a lack, a lack of systems and structures to
- 9:15harness and direct it? Energy is like money on its own.
- 9:22It's neutral, and power is not defined by how loudly it
- 9:29explodes, but by how precisely it is used.
- 9:37There's a part deep within you that considers yourself a
- 9:43humanitarian of wonder and joy, and every superhero and every
- 9:51villain has the same origin story.
- 9:56They were wronged. They experienced injustice.
- 10:01The hero harnesses the anger and the injustice to do good,
- 10:07whereas the villain uses it as justification to cause pain to
- 10:14others. And I wonder which is the
- 10:19stronger force within you, the villain or the humanitarian?
- 10:28The one that wants to destroy or the one that wants to improve.
- 10:36And you only need to look back on your life to know which is
- 10:41the more influential part within you.
- 10:47Your life is evidence of what you value more, but there in the
- 10:54control room is you observe more closely.
- 10:58Notice this energy source is like a reactor, generating
- 11:04immense power and beside it control rods, mechanisms of
- 11:11precision, not there to suppress, not there to weaken,
- 11:18but to regulate, to direct, to ensure that power becomes
- 11:24useful. Without control, even the
- 11:33greatest energy is wasted. But with control, with
- 11:38precision, with direction, it becomes unstoppable.
- 11:48And I wonder if you could ask yourself a question with all of
- 11:54that power, with all of that energy, what do you want to do
- 12:00with it? Maybe deep down you realize
- 12:05something important. You are not the energy.
- 12:10You are the operator of the energy.
- 12:15It is you and only you, who decides when to increase
- 12:20intensity and when to stabilize, when to act and when to wait.
- 12:29And what if there's something deeply reassuring about knowing
- 12:36that nothing activates without your decision?
- 12:42And from this moment forward, whenever you get clues of anger,
- 12:50frustration, annoyance, aggression, you know the
- 12:54signals. Consider it a surge in
- 12:57activation, a feeling maybe rising up in your chest, your
- 13:01head. What if from now on, something
- 13:05new happens, That part within you, the humanitarian, the part
- 13:15that has access to that wonder, that joy, that compassion?
- 13:20What if that part automatically pauses?
- 13:24Not because you have to, but because you can.
- 13:29And in that pause everything changes.
- 13:35Because now you choose energy that you are not in control of
- 13:47is like an unstable reactor. You are not Chernobyl.
- 13:54You are a powerful force of energy and you can harness that
- 14:00energy to positively impact the world.
- 14:08That when this energy, when directed, sharpens your
- 14:11thinking, clarifies your boundaries, strengthens your
- 14:16voice. Not louder, but clearer, Not
- 14:22reactive but deliberate. And you may even begin to enjoy
- 14:30how calm feels. Powerful.
- 14:38You may have noticed the smallest, weakest dogs bark the
- 14:43loudest. The dogs with real strength,
- 14:48power, real capabilities, tend to be calm, observant, and I
- 14:58wonder if you can unleash that power to give you the capability
- 15:06combined with the discernment to feel that you can use it, but
- 15:13you're choosing not to. Wise people have said it's
- 15:22better to be the warrior in the garden than the gardener in the
- 15:28war. To have the capability combined
- 15:33with restraint is itself a superpower.
- 15:41And I want you to imagine a situation, perhaps a few days
- 15:47from now, a week from now, where previously you may have felt
- 15:51that desire to seek justice, to set someone straight, see it
- 15:59clearly, see yourself like you're someone else, but this
- 16:03time, see yourself capable yet composed, powerful yet calm,
- 16:13observing, adjusting, choosing. And maybe you notice how
- 16:21different that version of you looks.
- 16:26If you could read your cortisol levels, they would be low.
- 16:31Having the power to not be triggered again is a superpower.
- 16:40See how there is no urgency, no loss of control, Calm, measured,
- 16:47precise and you may even realise this version of you gets even
- 16:56better outcomes with less effort.
- 17:01And if you feel that reactor intensifying its energy, your
- 17:09first thought is not anger, aggression, but deployment.
- 17:16How can you put that energy to use?
- 17:25I want you to think of a forest fire.
- 17:29A forest fire is powerful, lots of energy, but when it's
- 17:37uncontrolled, it destroys. But fire, when it's contained
- 17:44there in the furnace that turned tribes into civilizations, that
- 17:52built cities, powers, engines, creates progress.
- 17:58You are no longer someone who fears the fire.
- 18:03You are someone who uses harnesses.
- 18:10You empower the fire and the energy.
- 18:15And from this point on, you don't need to suppress this
- 18:19energy because you no longer fear it.
- 18:24You don't need to prove it. You simply use it.
- 18:29Calm becomes your baseline. Control becomes your strength
- 18:38and intensity. That becomes your furnace, your
- 18:44tool. And I wonder, I wonder if your
- 18:50unconscious mind is willing to utilize this new perspective.
- 18:57Anger is energy and energy can be utilized.
- 19:02And if your unconscious is willing to accept, let me know
- 19:05by nodding your head. That's it.
- 19:10And then imagine leaving the control room.
- 19:14But just before you leave, notice 2 dials.
- 19:19Pain sensitivity. Just dial that all the way down.
- 19:26And optimism and compassion, dial those all the way up.
- 19:34And now it's time to leave the control room, closing the door
- 19:37behind you and allow yourself to reconnect and recalibrate with
- 19:44your physical body. Now take a deep breath in
- 19:47through your nose and out through your nose.
- 19:52Wiggle your fingers, wiggle your toes.
- 19:55Connect and calibrate into the here and the now as I now count
- 19:59from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 20:03Starting to count 123 Waking up 456 More alert 7-8.
- 20:11Open your eyes. Open your eyes 910 Wide awake,
- 20:15Wide awake. Wide awake.
