- 0:01Speaker 1: What's up, everybody. It's Jeff here. I wanted to let
- 0:03Speaker 1: you know.
- 0:03Speaker 2: We recorded this podcast episode on Tuesday, August twenty sixth,
- 0:06Speaker 2: twenty twenty five. By the time you hear this, some
- 0:08Speaker 2: things may have changed here there, but we hope you
- 0:10Speaker 2: enjoy the show. Welcome to Opposition Territory here at the
- 0:36Speaker 2: Philadelphia Sports Stable podcast show, the longest running weekly Philly sports.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Podcast show in the world, twelve years strong.
- 0:43Speaker 2: We've got a great guest coming on with us this
- 0:45Speaker 2: week to dive into the Baltimore Ravens, a team that
- 0:49Speaker 2: many of us have been following. They've been a dominant
- 0:52Speaker 2: force in the AFC and in the NFL in general
- 0:56Speaker 2: for many years.
- 0:56Speaker 1: At this point here from Ravens over on SI, we've
- 1:00Speaker 1: got our good friend Josh Reed. Buddy, How you doing,
- 1:02Speaker 1: my friend?
- 1:03Speaker 3: I'm doing great man. How you doing, Jeff?
- 1:05Speaker 1: I'm doing all right, man.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Today is the day where we're finding out the cuts
- 1:08Speaker 2: from the teams that we follow. Before we hit the
- 1:10Speaker 2: record button, you and I were talking about how we've
- 1:13Speaker 2: been following here at the PST podcast show. Some of
- 1:16Speaker 2: these Eagles cuts that they have announced already, they're still
- 1:19Speaker 2: trickling in for you Ravens fans out there and for
- 1:21Speaker 2: you reporters that are covering the Ravens. But you know,
- 1:25Speaker 2: before we get into like really what this coming season
- 1:28Speaker 2: Josh is going to bring for this Ravens team. Here
- 1:31Speaker 2: in our Opposition Territory podcast, as of late, we've been
- 1:34Speaker 2: first discussing how front offices are being run basically team
- 1:39Speaker 2: by team, and I really wanted to dive into and
- 1:42Speaker 2: get your thoughts on how the Ravens front office have
- 1:44Speaker 2: been making key decisions as it pertains to the future
- 1:48Speaker 2: of the team, to the future of the organization as well.
- 1:51Speaker 2: When you look at this recent offseason where the team
- 1:54Speaker 2: and organization want to go into the future, how does
- 1:58Speaker 2: this Ravens front office really sustain this positive growth for
- 2:02Speaker 2: the Ravens team that we've been seeing, because it's not
- 2:05Speaker 2: easy to do here in the NFL.
- 2:07Speaker 1: What are your thoughts here, Oh, I.
- 2:09Speaker 4: Mean, our teams are kind of really similar and the
- 2:11Speaker 4: and that and that fast where they really love building
- 2:13Speaker 4: through the draft and building through the trenches. And just
- 2:15Speaker 4: the way the Ravens winning about this offseason was really
- 2:17Speaker 4: like with the forward thinking of approach with a lot
- 2:20Speaker 4: of with a lot of things that they did. I mean,
- 2:22Speaker 4: they're really a patient and kind of like like like
- 2:24Speaker 4: taking the page, I want to say, taking a page
- 2:25Speaker 4: of the Eagles notebook, because there's been a lot of
- 2:27Speaker 4: crossover between the two front offices over the years between
- 2:30Speaker 4: Joe Douglass and other guys kind of crossed across across
- 2:32Speaker 4: those wires there. But I really kind of like the
- 2:35Speaker 4: patient of forward taking the approach with the Ravens. You know,
- 2:37Speaker 4: the Ravens are always about you know, depth and fortification
- 2:40Speaker 4: in the trenches, and that really reflected itself in the preseason.
- 2:43Speaker 4: I mean, Ravens went three and oh again. You know,
- 2:45Speaker 4: you know people people want to talk about the Ravens
- 2:48Speaker 4: the preseason being in preseason powerhouse, but I mean they're
- 2:50Speaker 4: they able to do that because they're so good at
- 2:52Speaker 4: finding the depth in those trenches on both sides of
- 2:55Speaker 4: on both sides of the ball. So they I'm and
- 2:57Speaker 4: as far as this off season goes, I mean, I
- 2:59Speaker 4: really love the coach man. It was really kind of
- 3:01Speaker 4: just like kind of sitting back and knowing that they,
- 3:03Speaker 4: you know, the Ravens are going to have a big
- 3:06Speaker 4: lot of offseason decisions next to this cup upcoming offseason
- 3:10Speaker 4: and twenty twenty six, and with so many guys entering,
- 3:13Speaker 4: uh entering the final year of the rookie deals, we're
- 3:15Speaker 4: playing on one year contracts. That twenty twenty two drivet
- 3:18Speaker 4: class for US was really impactful. You got Isaiah Likely's,
- 3:21Speaker 4: the Travis Jones and so many other guys that are
- 3:24Speaker 4: coming up for deals this year. So this year is
- 3:26Speaker 4: kind of like, we're not gonna make the big splashing
- 3:27Speaker 4: freegency this year. You know, usually they're usually good for
- 3:30Speaker 4: at least one or two big splashes, like last year
- 3:33Speaker 4: was Derrick Henry and you know now that they have
- 3:35Speaker 4: DeAndre Hopkins, but that was even really a big splash
- 3:37Speaker 4: because they only spend at five million dollars on it.
- 3:39Speaker 4: So it's sure like, yeah, they really they really believe
- 3:42Speaker 4: in the right player, right price mentality, and they did
- 3:44Speaker 4: that so many times throughout this offseason with the Jandre Hopkins,
- 3:47Speaker 4: with the Chadobe Wuzier, with the JayR Alexander's kind of
- 3:50Speaker 4: sooping in and getting him in the late summer. People
- 3:52Speaker 4: are getting mad because he's already like you know, dealing
- 3:54Speaker 4: with this knee issue. It's not really the issue is
- 3:56Speaker 4: more of a maintenance thing because like would rather have
- 3:58Speaker 4: back Alexander and Week onegainst Buffalo or potentially Division around
- 4:02Speaker 4: right against Buffalo at Kansas City. Right, So, like you know,
- 4:05Speaker 4: like like the way that they go about their player
- 4:07Speaker 4: made that they've been over precautious with all their players
- 4:10Speaker 4: as far as injury maintenance, did a thing like that,
- 4:11Speaker 4: but as far as building it upwise, man, I mean,
- 4:13Speaker 4: this is really one of the deepest Ravens teams I've
- 4:15Speaker 4: seen in quite some time, and they've really fortified themselves
- 4:18Speaker 4: at literally literally every level of the defense, often the
- 4:21Speaker 4: special teams, pretty much everywhere around.
- 4:23Speaker 2: And we're going to get into a lot of that,
- 4:25Speaker 2: especially with the defense as we're going to be concluding
- 4:27Speaker 2: the discussion, uh, you know, down the road here. But
- 4:31Speaker 2: it's amazing how again, like you said, very much like
- 4:35Speaker 2: the Eagles, you are sustaining success via the depth, and
- 4:38Speaker 2: that's how this team has been able to grow and
- 4:41Speaker 2: it's pretty fascinating to watch. But moving on to the offense,
- 4:44Speaker 2: we of course have to talk about the one and
- 4:46Speaker 2: only Lamar Jackson because boy, he has proven himself to
- 4:50Speaker 2: be one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, but
- 4:54Speaker 2: he still has that like asterisk right next to him.
- 4:57Speaker 2: That it just hasn't been able to get it done
- 4:59Speaker 2: in the po season and you know, this year could
- 5:02Speaker 2: potentially be different and it would be interesting to see,
- 5:04Speaker 2: you know, where his growth takes him. I mean, look,
- 5:08Speaker 2: it's definitely a theme I think that people are going
- 5:11Speaker 2: to continue to talk about until Lamar actually gets it
- 5:13Speaker 2: done in the postseason. So, Josh, I'm wondering, how have
- 5:17Speaker 2: you seen his game progressing over time here? And I
- 5:20Speaker 2: know we've discussed this before when you've been on the
- 5:22Speaker 2: show as well, but you know, do you think he'll
- 5:24Speaker 2: be able to get to that next level in the playoffs?
- 5:27Speaker 1: What are your thoughts?
- 5:28Speaker 3: Man?
- 5:29Speaker 4: I mean, Lamar has grown exponentially each year he has
- 5:31Speaker 4: been in the league, and especially like since he's even
- 5:34Speaker 4: paired up with Todd Monkin and really kind of became
- 5:36Speaker 4: started playing this more modernized offense, he has grown, I
- 5:39Speaker 4: mean white years. I mean he's coming off the greatest
- 5:41Speaker 4: dual threat season we've ever seen in NFL history, you know,
- 5:44Speaker 4: first quarterback to throw for over four thousand yards and
- 5:46Speaker 4: rush over nine hundred yards, you know, and then had
- 5:49Speaker 4: he had that crazy touchdown interception ratio forty one touchdowns
- 5:52Speaker 4: on four picks.
- 5:53Speaker 3: If you watch those four picks, none of them were
- 5:55Speaker 3: his fault.
- 5:56Speaker 4: There either drops by somebody else or a great play
- 5:58Speaker 4: by the defense where we still get his guys opportunities
- 6:01Speaker 4: to catch the ball. So about a guy who's who's
- 6:03Speaker 4: been able to cut down his mistakes, and you know,
- 6:05Speaker 4: it takes production, especially as a passer.
- 6:07Speaker 3: To the next level.
- 6:08Speaker 4: I mean it's it's he really got seated at the
- 6:10Speaker 4: MVP last year, and I don't have to relate. It's
- 6:15Speaker 4: really it's really crazy when you look at you know,
- 6:17Speaker 4: the compared the stats between Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson
- 6:19Speaker 4: and and just how historic lamar season was last year,
- 6:23Speaker 4: and it's really really really incredible. And as far as
- 6:26Speaker 4: where he needs to do, as far as taking it
- 6:27Speaker 4: to the next level, I.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Mean, he's already up there.
- 6:30Speaker 4: It feels like every time, you know, like Lamar's like
- 6:32Speaker 4: you think, oh, man can't get no better at twenty
- 6:34Speaker 4: nineteen than twenty thirty three happens. Oh I can't get
- 6:36Speaker 4: no better than that, Then twenty twenty four happens. So
- 6:38Speaker 4: now this year, I mean, this is the best collection
- 6:41Speaker 4: of talent he's had around him at the receiver position
- 6:43Speaker 4: in particular. You know, you got, you got say Flowers
- 6:45Speaker 4: coming for Pro Bowl season, you got hot bave been
- 6:48Speaker 4: coming off a breakout a breakout season, and they got
- 6:50Speaker 4: DeAndre Hopkins coming in there as the savvy vet. And yeah, man,
- 6:54Speaker 4: he's I mean, he's he's he's the best contested catch
- 6:56Speaker 4: receiver the Ravens have had since since I want to
- 6:59Speaker 4: say Steve Smith's and then prior to that, a Quon Bolden.
- 7:02Speaker 4: But I think he's serving an Quon Bolden roll the
- 7:04Speaker 4: same way Akwon was came a clutch for Joe Flackeld
- 7:06Speaker 4: in the last football run in twenty twelve, making those
- 7:08Speaker 4: CONVESTEDT catchers, those third down and short third do mediums. Yeah,
- 7:12Speaker 4: I'm really excited about this, about this group of fast
- 7:14Speaker 4: catchers and running back.
- 7:16Speaker 3: Talent that he has behind him and around him.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Well, that's a really good segue, Josh into the next
- 7:21Speaker 2: topic I was going to be getting into with you,
- 7:23Speaker 2: because I think, I mean, I think it's safe to
- 7:25Speaker 2: assume that we're going to see a pretty heavy presence
- 7:29Speaker 2: in the run game this year with Derek Henry. They
- 7:32Speaker 2: don't bring him in and make that big splash and
- 7:34Speaker 2: free agency last year just to you know, occasionally use him.
- 7:37Speaker 2: I mean, we're going to see a healthy dose of
- 7:40Speaker 2: Derrick Henry this year, just like we are with the
- 7:41Speaker 2: Eagles in terms of Saquon Barkley as well. But with
- 7:45Speaker 2: regard to the Ravens here, we know that over the years,
- 7:48Speaker 2: you know, Lamar Jackson has become a more prolific passer.
- 7:52Speaker 2: You know how many years ago the questions we were
- 7:56Speaker 2: prevalent in terms of whether or not Lamar Jackson could
- 7:59Speaker 2: be a passer in this league? Was he just going
- 8:01Speaker 2: to be using his legs? But no, he has become
- 8:04Speaker 2: a prolific passer, and you were just mentioning a lot
- 8:06Speaker 2: of the weaponry that he's gonna have in terms of
- 8:09Speaker 2: the receiving corps. But I'm wondering, how do you see
- 8:12Speaker 2: the offense moving forward, balancing out that rushing attack with
- 8:17Speaker 2: Derrick Henry and even the depth at running back and
- 8:19Speaker 2: the passing game this year as well.
- 8:21Speaker 1: What are your thoughts here?
- 8:23Speaker 4: I mean they were extremely balanced last year, man, I
- 8:25Speaker 4: mean ever since Todd Monklin came in, they've been wanted
- 8:28Speaker 4: the more balanced, not just balanced, but explosive offensives and
- 8:30Speaker 4: both the run. In the past year after years, we're
- 8:33Speaker 4: talking about going to year three with him and Todd Monkin.
- 8:35Speaker 4: I mean, I'm sky's the limit for this team, man.
- 8:38Speaker 4: I mean, Derrick Henry was like what eighty seven yards
- 8:40Speaker 4: short of two thousand last year? Was of a say
- 8:42Speaker 4: Von Barkley, he would have had his like fifth or
- 8:44Speaker 4: fourth or fifth rushing rushing title last year. But yeah,
- 8:48Speaker 4: this team is incredibly balanced and incredibly deep. I mean
- 8:51Speaker 4: the guys that they got, I mean, with with Justice
- 8:53Speaker 4: Hill and Derek Henry got one of the better veteran
- 8:55Speaker 4: won two combos in the league. Hill is very underrated
- 8:58Speaker 4: pass catching back and he still has slash on the
- 9:01Speaker 4: round too, and one of the best bass protectors in
- 9:03Speaker 4: the league.
- 9:03Speaker 3: And then also we have this year.
- 9:05Speaker 4: I wouldn't say secret weapon because he flashes rookie, but
- 9:07Speaker 4: was Andrew for most of the last year. Keithon Mitchell.
- 9:09Speaker 4: He's a guy that made the team with undrafter rookie
- 9:11Speaker 4: in twenty twenty three, kind of took the league by
- 9:13Speaker 4: storm there in the middle last season before tearing his
- 9:15Speaker 4: his aco and when leave was.
- 9:17Speaker 3: Like week eleven against the Jaguars on Monday Night Football
- 9:20Speaker 3: or something like that. Either way, he's a guy.
- 9:21Speaker 4: That's fully healthy, back up to speed, even feeling faster
- 9:24Speaker 4: than ever now. So he'll be factive for them, not
- 9:26Speaker 4: just on offense, but it's on kick return too with
- 9:28Speaker 4: the new dynamic kickoff rules.
- 9:29Speaker 3: And then yeah, man, it's gonna be really balanced in
- 9:32Speaker 3: the prolific offense, I feel like again.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I think it's gonna be fascinating to
- 9:37Speaker 2: see how the teams within the division, see North Division,
- 9:43Speaker 2: how they're gonna handle this Ravens team. I think it's
- 9:46Speaker 2: gonna be very, very difficult for sure. But we're gonna
- 9:49Speaker 2: be taking a break here in a bit, folks, Josh
- 9:52Speaker 2: really quick, let everybody know where they can find you
- 9:54Speaker 2: on social media again, where they can find you on
- 9:57Speaker 2: the interwebs, just so if they can follow you, if
- 9:59Speaker 2: they wanted get in touch with you. Some get into
- 10:01Speaker 2: some Ravens content as well.
- 10:04Speaker 4: Yes, all my Ravens content is on Ravens on SI.
- 10:07Speaker 4: It's the Sports Illustrated substack for the for the Ravens.
- 10:10Speaker 4: A lot of great writers over there, including myself. You know,
- 10:12Speaker 4: I want too my own horn here, but you know
- 10:14Speaker 4: I put a lot of time work, bod, blood, sweat
- 10:16Speaker 4: and tears unto my work, and I take a lot
- 10:18Speaker 4: of pride in it.
- 10:18Speaker 1: That's why I ask you to come on, man, seriously,
- 10:21Speaker 1: you do a great job. You do a great job.
- 10:23Speaker 2: And look, folks, if you are watching on YouTube here
- 10:25Speaker 2: at Philadelphia Sports Table, podcast shows, YouTube channel, like and subscribe.

- 10:37Speaker 2: Philadelphia PST. I'm over on TikTok at mister Jeff Warren.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Like our Facebook page. We're on threads as well. Eric
- 10:44Speaker 2: and I are over on Blue Sky as well. Like
- 10:47Speaker 2: I said, we're gonna take a break to pay some bills.
- 10:49Speaker 2: We're gonna be back in just a bit with a
- 10:51Speaker 2: lot more Ravens talk. All right, we are back with
- 10:55Speaker 2: our good friend Josh Reid from the Ravens over on SI.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Great great content as always, but I wanted to shift
- 11:03Speaker 2: now over to the defense Josh and talk about this
- 11:07Speaker 2: Ravens defense. They're they're always such a factor year after
- 11:11Speaker 2: year after year. And look, a lot of us know
- 11:14Speaker 2: the big time players on the defense at this point.
- 11:17Speaker 2: The Ravens almost always have strong defensive players year after year.
- 11:20Speaker 1: After year.
- 11:21Speaker 2: But I'm wondering if there is anyone flying under the
- 11:24Speaker 2: radar perhaps that we need to keep our eyes on
- 11:27Speaker 2: this year in terms of this defense, who might that
- 11:29Speaker 2: be and what are they gonna bring to the defense.
- 11:32Speaker 4: A few guys, a few guys that the three in particular,
- 11:35Speaker 4: you know, third year guy Fredon Simpson, he was the
- 11:38Speaker 4: third on picking twenty twenty three. He kind of took
- 11:40Speaker 4: over Patrick Queen and that wall linebacker row Last year
- 11:43Speaker 4: didn't quite you know, go as well for him. You know,
- 11:45Speaker 4: he ended up getting Benitink after the Eagles game, I
- 11:47Speaker 4: think when they played the Eagles. Okay, he was he
- 11:49Speaker 4: was the US the regular start up until Week thirteen,
- 11:51Speaker 4: and then after that he kind of I took us,
- 11:53Speaker 4: took a step back and be kind of replaced in
- 11:54Speaker 4: the line up by a combination of Malie Harrison and
- 11:57Speaker 4: Chris Ford in the back end. But dude, he's he's
- 12:00Speaker 4: come back with a vengeance this offseason and he's really
- 12:02Speaker 4: he's really come a poise to take a big leap
- 12:05Speaker 4: this year. He had a monster game and that preseason
- 12:07Speaker 4: finale against the Commanders had like a sack and a
- 12:10Speaker 4: half a strip, a strip sack, tip to pass for interception.
- 12:15Speaker 4: I mean that he's like, he's a guy that's really
- 12:16Speaker 4: taking a big leak. This I think is gonna take
- 12:18Speaker 4: a big leap this year. And then two on draft
- 12:20Speaker 4: of rookies who are slated to make the team, one
- 12:22Speaker 4: who was like officially kind of announced as you know,
- 12:24Speaker 4: locked into the fifty three manter Loster, and then the
- 12:26Speaker 4: one who's kind of been bollowed ever since rook community camp.
- 12:28Speaker 4: There's a safety, Ruben Lowry out of Tennessee Chattanooga. He's
- 12:32Speaker 4: a guy that, you know, I could really kind of
- 12:34Speaker 4: see feeling that you know, Stone Roll that the Ravens
- 12:36Speaker 4: really missed last year, especially as that backup free safety
- 12:40Speaker 4: kind of guy who plays to go high and free
- 12:42Speaker 4: UPower him to do more things. And then key on Martin.
- 12:44Speaker 4: He's the guy out of the University Louisiana and Lafayette,
- 12:47Speaker 4: really one of the biggest stars of the preseason, had
- 12:49Speaker 4: to pick six and finale against the Commanders, had a
- 12:52Speaker 4: safety for a sack, a sacked for a safety against
- 12:54Speaker 4: the Cowboys a week before that, and he's a guy
- 12:56Speaker 4: three can really factor in to the nickel depth behind
- 12:59Speaker 4: Marvel for an Austin a special team. So yeah, those
- 13:02Speaker 4: are three guys that really going to look out for
- 13:03Speaker 4: to Ravens defense as far as find under the Raider.
- 13:05Speaker 2: For you NFL fans out there, keep your eyes on
- 13:08Speaker 2: these guys. Josh has a really good pulse on what's
- 13:11Speaker 2: happening with this team. They're certainly going to be a
- 13:13Speaker 2: factor this season. We'll moving along, Josh. I wanted to
- 13:16Speaker 2: get your thoughts on the Ravens secondary as well, because,
- 13:20Speaker 2: like again we're talking about the depth and how strong
- 13:23Speaker 2: the depth is with this Ravens team, and it's gonna
- 13:26Speaker 2: pay dividends I think for them. You know, whether there's injuries,
- 13:30Speaker 2: whether something comes up with whatever player, they have the
- 13:33Speaker 2: depth there. And you've recently wrote a piece after one
- 13:35Speaker 2: of the recent preseason games were over over at Baltimore
- 13:40Speaker 2: Ravens on SI talking about how the young defensive backs
- 13:43Speaker 2: were just really dazzling. And we're talking about the depth here.
- 13:46Speaker 2: I mean, I think it's a very interesting crop of
- 13:49Speaker 2: young players behind Nate Wiggins, Jay r Alexander and Marlon Humphrey.
- 13:53Speaker 2: So if there's or I should say, if you know,
- 13:56Speaker 2: one of these starters should happen to go down, how
- 13:58Speaker 2: do you see the depth really shake out in the secondary.
- 14:02Speaker 3: Oh.
- 14:02Speaker 4: I really love the Ravens versatility and death back in
- 14:04Speaker 4: in the back end because guy like Rubin Lowry, who
- 14:06Speaker 4: I just mentioned, not only does he play play safety,
- 14:08Speaker 4: can also play nickel corner a guy. And then you
- 14:11Speaker 4: have a guy like Marlon humph who can play outside,
- 14:13Speaker 4: inside and outside. And then you know Girolexander has a
- 14:16Speaker 4: checker of injury history. You know, we all know what
- 14:18Speaker 4: kind of happened down him with Green Bay. What I
- 14:20Speaker 4: love with the Ravens day they kind of, like I would,
- 14:22Speaker 4: they kind of like back ended it with So they
- 14:24Speaker 4: have Chadobe a Wuzier who who's also been injury prone
- 14:27Speaker 4: in his own right.
- 14:27Speaker 3: But you know, if you can if you.
- 14:28Speaker 4: Can piecemeal together a full season from Chadobi Woozy and
- 14:31Speaker 4: Giro Alexander, that's your top top three quarterbacks to the league,
- 14:34Speaker 4: right It is?
- 14:36Speaker 2: It absolutely is man the depth within this Ravens secondary
- 14:40Speaker 2: second and none, second and nine.
- 14:41Speaker 1: All right, Well, to.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Conclude here, Josh and I've been getting into this with
- 14:46Speaker 2: every guest that we have on our Opposition Territory podcast
- 14:49Speaker 2: on a weekly basis. Here talking about the biggest concerns
- 14:52Speaker 2: for this Ravens team heading into this NFL season, and
- 14:56Speaker 2: also what you're least concerned about heading into this season. Well,
- 15:00Speaker 2: let's start with the biggest concern. We're talking about a
- 15:03Speaker 2: lot of depth. We're talking about how don the Ravens
- 15:05Speaker 2: have been. Are there any concerns for you here with
- 15:09Speaker 2: this team?
- 15:10Speaker 3: I mean, not many men, to be honest with you.
- 15:13Speaker 4: I'm just I'm like, they really kind of fool proof
- 15:16Speaker 4: this roster, you know, even at the even at the
- 15:19Speaker 4: backup quarterback position. You know, God forbid, Lamar's missed any
- 15:21Speaker 4: time they went off this offseason and made the most
- 15:24Speaker 4: significant investment they've made at backup quarterback in about five
- 15:27Speaker 4: years since they had RG three and by bringing in
- 15:29Speaker 4: Cooper Rush from the Cowboys. And you know, I know,
- 15:31Speaker 4: as the Eagles fan, you're not really too crazy about
- 15:33Speaker 4: Cooper Rush, but you know, he's proved. He's proven as
- 15:35Speaker 4: one of the better backups in the league. Man, He's
- 15:36Speaker 4: a guy that can come in and operate an offense.
- 15:38Speaker 4: And he's known la Mark Jackson. You know what I'm saying,
- 15:40Speaker 4: nobody from Mark exactly. You know, he's a guy that,
- 15:42Speaker 4: especially over the last two preseason games, came in and
- 15:45Speaker 4: really showed he could offer the office at high level,
- 15:47Speaker 4: even just running with the even just running with the twos.
- 15:50Speaker 4: So I mean, really, I'm not really concerned with too
- 15:51Speaker 4: much but about this team really just maybe maybe not.
- 15:56Speaker 4: I don't know, I feel like they're gonna start fast too,
- 15:59Speaker 4: but maybe I guess. I guess my concern would be, like,
- 16:01Speaker 4: you know, they really have a garlet coming out of
- 16:03Speaker 4: the gate in the beginning of the season. I mean,
- 16:05Speaker 4: they're four the I think five of their first six
- 16:07Speaker 4: opponents were playoff teams last year, and four of them.
- 16:09Speaker 3: Were division winners.
- 16:10Speaker 4: Okay, So I mean the starting fast and then maybe
- 16:12Speaker 4: not having Isaiah likely for that Week one game against
- 16:15Speaker 4: the Bills, you know, given that he's coming off with
- 16:17Speaker 4: a minor foot surgery. But you know, I'd rather have
- 16:19Speaker 4: Isaiah Lockey for the long haul than just got to
- 16:21Speaker 4: have him that first week against the Bills.
- 16:23Speaker 3: You know, you still have Mark Andrews and Charlie Kohler.
- 16:25Speaker 4: So the team is, the team is deep, but you know,
- 16:27Speaker 4: they got a garblet coming out the gates and in
- 16:29Speaker 4: the AFC, where you know you got the Chiefs and
- 16:31Speaker 4: the Bills and so many other elite contenders you really
- 16:34Speaker 4: got to have touch start fast, and you know they
- 16:36Speaker 4: haven't they haven't. They've kind of you know too, the
- 16:39Speaker 4: target with started with fast starts these past couple of years,
- 16:41Speaker 4: so the fast start would be would be essential to
- 16:44Speaker 4: this year's team.
- 16:44Speaker 2: All right, well, what what what? What are you least
- 16:47Speaker 2: concerned about? I mean, there's so much that you could say,
- 16:50Speaker 2: I'm not concerned about this. I'm not concerned about this.
- 16:52Speaker 2: I don't know what do you like least concerned about.
- 16:54Speaker 2: I mean I would imagine it would probably be the
- 16:57Speaker 2: quarterback or running back position.
- 17:00Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, you hit it right on the head, man,
- 17:03Speaker 4: I'm least concerned about Lamar Jackson. Man, I feel like
- 17:06Speaker 4: anytime that guy's anything, that guy's healthy, we got a
- 17:08Speaker 4: chance to go to distance man, and so I'm I'm
- 17:11Speaker 4: I'm really uber confident in him and his ability this year.
- 17:14Speaker 4: And then also the running back is like having having
- 17:16Speaker 4: Derek Henry the guy, that guy back to really the
- 17:19Speaker 4: best running back we've had since since since Ray Rice
- 17:21Speaker 4: or even most prolifically backs this Jamal Lewis. So he's
- 17:24Speaker 4: the guy that I'm really confident in and he's confused
- 17:26Speaker 4: to the test of time.
- 17:28Speaker 3: You know him. I feel I feel like he's gone
- 17:30Speaker 3: the Tom Brady running backs as far as.
- 17:32Speaker 4: Being able to still produce at the elite level, and
- 17:35Speaker 4: you know, the twilight of his career, people say he
- 17:36Speaker 4: shouldn't be able to keep doing that. And then nextit
- 17:39Speaker 4: having Justice Hill and Keith Mitchell and even Regatt like
- 17:41Speaker 4: Rashina a Lee who coming into the training champ was
- 17:44Speaker 4: on the bubble and really kind of played his way
- 17:45Speaker 4: into the roster spot both on special teams in on offense.
- 17:48Speaker 4: So the Ravens the four deeper running back, two deep quarterback,
- 17:51Speaker 4: and deep everywhere else.
- 17:53Speaker 3: Man, absolutely, I'm pretty confident.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Absolutely, all right again, folks, he is Josh Reed. Josh
- 17:58Speaker 2: Before let you go, man, tell everybody they can find
