- 0:00Alright, you guys are ready. Yes, Sir.
- 0:03Barbara Bound Bound Bangor Management Fantasy Hockey
- 0:05Podcast Whoo whoo whoo. That was so civil, so much more
- 0:10civil than usual. It's almost civil.
- 0:12Civil sometimes. Yeah, yeah.
- 0:15A little unexpected, to be honest.
- 0:17I was ready for whatever kind of woo you were gonna.
- 0:21Pull. I'm always keeping you on your
- 0:22toes, so sometimes not doing anything is also keeping you on
- 0:25your. Toes, the expected is the
- 0:26unexpected. Some translatable skills for
- 0:29draft time. You know, all the unexpected
- 0:32stuff Kevin does. If we're drafting near each
- 0:33other this year, it's OHK. Before recorded this, Josh and I
- 0:37did a mock draft together since we had some time and we drafted
- 0:41right next to each other and he was pretty upset that he was
- 0:44drafting after me. He kept sniping all my guys
- 0:48every time. I was like, I can't believe this
- 0:49guy's falling this far. Kevin was thinking the exact
- 0:52same thing, but he wouldn't tell me either.
- 0:53This thing was on a call together and it's a mock draft.
- 0:57He's like, he's like. Slowing.
- 1:02It's yeah, it's gonna be a very exciting.
- 1:06I don't wanna be anywhere near you guys in the draft order.
- 1:09I think that I care about that more than where I.
- 1:10Am all three of us right in in an order?
- 1:13It's gonna happen. Yeah, well, we'll see what the
- 1:16duck races decides. That's.
- 1:17What I'm hoping for, All right, let's get into it.
- 1:20Today. We are going to do the top 10
- 1:23power forwards for this year's welcome all the Bangor
- 1:26management, the Fantasy Hockey Podcast with Jake, Josh and
- 1:29Kevin and it's an exciting one, especially for Bangers leagues.
- 1:35This is huge, but it could also be pretty relevance for points
- 1:37leagues. This this feels like the the
- 1:40classic bangers league episode. Like these are the four words
- 1:43that you wanna own that really contribute to not only bangers,
- 1:45but also like at a high level for points and shots and
- 1:48everything. So these are these are the guys
- 1:51are going to be studs in your bankers leads.
- 1:52Yeah, and it was interesting. I was talking about this, me and
- 1:56Kevin were talk about the list before you hopped on.
- 1:58And they're not all bunched in the same round.
- 2:01Like you can get a lot of these guys in the same draft.
- 2:04So it's very interesting. Like you can build a team that
- 2:07is just unbeatable at shots and hits while also, you know, being
- 2:10solid at points if you grab a lot of these guys.
- 2:12So so stay tuned. That's what it did last time.
- 2:15It worked out pretty well. It's getting really be the bread
- 2:18and butter for your fantasy team.
- 2:20Actually looking at the list that we have and we're about to
- 2:23get into it, but I feel like our top ten, I think we had 80% of
- 2:27the top ten like on all three of our teams combined.
- 2:30That doesn't surprise me. Actually though.
- 2:33Yeah, we we know what we're doing out here.
- 2:36Before we dive in, you can follow us on Spotify, Apple
- 2:39Podcast, wherever you get your podcasts.
- 2:41You could see the link tree and the podcast description with the
- 2:43link to all of our socials. We're on Discord and TikTok now,
- 2:46so we'll be sure to follow us there.
- 2:49Should we start with? #10.
- 2:53No, actually, we're gonna start some honorable mentions, but
- 2:56sorry. Honorable Mentions.
- 3:01So there's gonna be some pretty big names on this one.
- 3:04So I like sleeping more. Excited for the top ten that
- 3:06these guys didn't even make it. But we've got Matthew Kuchuk.
- 3:09That's a big asterisk on that one because if he wasn't injured
- 3:12starting the season, he would be in the top ten.
- 3:14Then you've got Timo Meyer, Drake Batherson, Dylan Cousins,
- 3:18Sam Bennett and Joel Erickson Eck.
- 3:21If I had to choose one guy on this list that are absolutely
- 3:23one of my team, you already know who it is.
- 3:25But it's, yeah, Dylan Cousins. He loves Cousins.
- 3:27I want him on all my teams. If Alabama of you sorry.
- 3:31Yeah. Sorry to all the Alabama fans,
- 3:34that was a joke. I didn't like to make all the
- 3:36cool team names, you know? Name 1.
- 3:39Alabama cousins. Touché.
- 3:47If you're from Alabama, we still love you.
- 3:49Please don't log out or click out.
- 3:52Anyways, yeah, so the the quality of these honorable
- 3:56mentions should get everyone very hyped about this top ten
- 3:58that we're about to dive into. Although I will say little note,
- 4:02I feel like Matthew could Chuck slowed down into his category
- 4:04ever since he went to Florida. Pimm's Pimm's he's still up
- 4:08there because he's just he's just a little little guy.
- 4:11You know, he's always really he's the king of getting 1010
- 4:14minute games comics when there's.
- 4:16Like last minute. Like one second left in the game
- 4:18or something so. Yeah, it's one of those things.
- 4:20It's like it doesn't affect anything in real life, but it
- 4:23just swings your entire match up in your favor if you haven't.
- 4:27Imagine his Pimm's carried into the next game.
- 4:29That would be a. Would be fun.
- 4:32Would be interesting actually if that was actually a real rule,
- 4:35but OK #10. #10 I try not to put him too early cuz I don't want
- 4:41people to accusing us of being homers, but I think he deserves
- 4:43to be in this top ten list. We've got Uri, Slavkov, Sky.
- 4:47So last year his stats were .65 points per game at 1.7 shots and
- 4:522.5 hits. But that's season wide and he
- 4:55took a significant step up after Four Nations last year.
- 4:58So if you can keep it going all season long, then he should take
- 5:01a big step forward this year in terms of just general fantasy,
- 5:04but also specifically bangers. I love this. 1.
- 5:08Love this one. And I think he's going to be
- 5:10higher on this list next year, to be honest.
- 5:12Yeah, I was gonna say, I feel like right now this is kind of
- 5:15like the floor because we saw what he did after the All Star
- 5:17game and I feel like that's the kind of slap that we see to
- 5:20start the year this year. And we saw him really take over
- 5:24matchups. Like he was hitting sometimes
- 5:26over 5A game, he was blocking so much.
- 5:28Like that's just out of nowhere. And if you're a blocks league
- 5:31with hits, getting that many blocks from a forward is just
- 5:34insane value. I think I, I really think that
- 5:38if he submits his spot in the on the top line on power play 1 and
- 5:41has no risk of getting bumped like he can be a star power
- 5:44forward in the league, like he'll be top five next year for
- 5:46sure. Yeah, I see this like, you know,
- 5:50see him going for around 65 points this year.
- 5:53Could be a double, double, maybe even 2.5 shots, 2.5 hits.
- 5:57Also has that blocking upside, which is cool.
- 5:59And, you know, maybe he'll start getting good on the Pimms.
- 6:05You know, it's like, I feel like pins won't be his game, but I
- 6:08mean, if he's hitting and blocking and shooting like
- 6:10that's. We've seen him get feisty
- 6:12though, you know, like, yeah, if he gets in that zone, he could
- 6:14definitely take some some penalties.
- 6:17Yeah, he's got a bit of an ego, too.
- 6:18I forget what star player called him out on that be like.
- 6:21Yeah, he's a bit cocky. Like if you plant yourself in
- 6:23front of the net and start chirping, there's gonna be some
- 6:25Pimms coming in there. Yeah, for sure.
- 6:27And I think it's great. You guys mentioned about the
- 6:28blocks. I had him last year after Four
- 6:30Nations. He had a game where he put up
- 6:32seven hits and five blocks. And obviously that's like one
- 6:35game. And you know, he's not gonna
- 6:37average something crazy like that.
- 6:38But like, you like looking at a guy stealing, you know, and in
- 6:41terms of back, that's a pretty ridiculous ceiling to have.
- 6:43That's what we hope from Noah Dobson this year.
- 6:45Yeah, exactly. Yeah, yeah, I love this.
- 6:49Totally into it I think. We just say one last thing
- 6:54before the next guy is I feel like if you look at the last
- 6:57shooting percentage last year was at 13.5% and I just feel
- 7:01like that's that's low for the other guys that he's playing
- 7:04with. And I feel like I wouldn't be
- 7:05surprised if he even bumps that up, you know, like a 15 or 16%.
- 7:10And already that's just so many more points that you can add to
- 7:12is a statute. Yeah, it's not even a bad
- 7:15shooting percentage, but the main thing is that he plants
- 7:17himself in front of the net. So like especially on the power
- 7:19play, being the net front guy, you would expect that number to
- 7:22positively regress. Yeah, whether it's tips or just
- 7:25banging in those easy rebounds, that's where you wanna be.
- 7:28Yeah, totally. #9. 9 alright #9 I put him ahead of Slaugh so
- 7:34that again, I don't want any Homer allegations, but I think
- 7:38they're, they're pretty close. But I'm very high on this guy
- 7:40and it's Matthew Knives with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
- 7:43Last year he had .74 points, two shots per game and 2.3 hits
- 7:47already a double double. And this year he should be
- 7:49taking a big step because with Marner gone, he's going to be
- 7:51stapled to Matthews on line one on power play. 1 And he's
- 7:54exactly Berube's type of player. No, I, I love Matthew nice this
- 7:58year. I feel like where he's going in
- 8:00drafts as well. If you look at Yahoo ADP that
- 8:02just recently got released, like he, he's going to be a value in
- 8:05your league. I think they're underselling how
- 8:07many points he's going to get this year.
- 8:09Like they're taking him for like around 60 points.
- 8:11I think he can easily hover around 80 points per game
- 8:14points. Per game.
- 8:17On the season. How is he not #1?
- 8:19Absolutely. 80 points per game drafted down.
- 8:26But also last year, like his shooting percentage was at 19%.
- 8:29I feel like it's going under the radar with how good he was.
- 8:31Now he's gonna be, you know, he's he's Matthews guy right
- 8:34now. Like he's going to be cemented
- 8:36on that line 1 left wing. I think he has a super high
- 8:39ceiling this year. Yeah, together they're Matthew
- 8:42Matthews. Yeah, exactly.
- 8:45That's my two cents on the topic.
- 8:47That's great. Love it.
- 8:48He's great. I actually, I think we spoke
- 8:51about this. I still prefer Slaugh a little,
- 8:53but the comforting part with NYS is there's absolutely no threat
- 8:580 whatsoever to him on power play on line one.
- 9:01This is the chemistry that the Leafs are gonna wanna build for
- 9:04many years to come with Matthew and Eyes and Matthews.
- 9:07Of course. If Nylander goes there, all the
- 9:09better, but even if not, there's still a huge, huge pathway for
- 9:12Nice to succeed. So I love it.
- 9:15Yeah. I mean a 19% shooting percentage
- 9:17that's, you know, one goal every five shots.
- 9:20And if he's going to be taking a lot more shots this year,
- 9:22because it be a lot on the ice a lot more, I mean, we can already
- 9:26expect his his points threshold to go up.
- 9:29So. So where I see that actually
- 9:30impacting is that he's gonna get more assist because that is a
- 9:33high shooting percentage. So I can still see him like, and
- 9:35he got 29 goals in 78 games. So I expect him to get around 30
- 9:38goals, but maybe close to like 50 assists because he's playing
- 9:41with arguably the best goal scorer in.
- 9:42The world, I think he could easily get like 30 goals, 50
- 9:45assists, 80 points. That's what I'm thinking too.
- 9:48Yeah, and I mean, there's also something to be said about the I
- 9:51test and if you watch them in the playoffs, he was just
- 9:53unbelievable and he played, I think he played some short
- 9:55handed. So that could be something
- 9:57interesting to look out for. I think the the big thing is we
- 10:00know that, you know, he's tied to Matthews, right?
- 10:02So if Matthews gets hurt, I feel like that does significantly
- 10:05impact his value. But at the end of the day, you
- 10:07can't project for that. You just got to do with what's
- 10:09on what's on the paper. And everybody's worried about
- 10:12Matthews not having Manor anymore and if he's gonna keep
- 10:14scoring goals. But what if Nice is just that
- 10:16dude? So that's why #9.
- 10:20Yeah, poor Josh had to write out this next one.
- 10:23Yeah #8 Josh's favorite. Alright, yeah, yeah, make fun of
- 10:30me all you want. Honestly, if I had my way, he
- 10:35wouldn't have even been on the top ten list.
- 10:36But he deserves it, even though he underperforms every year.
- 10:40But we've got a #8 Andre Svechnikov, last year stats were
- 10:43.67 points per game, 2.5 shots, 2.1 hits.
- 10:47And and he also contributes in Pimms if your league counts
- 10:50that. And I mean he's just, he's got
- 10:53the talent, he puts up the bangers numbers.
- 10:55It's really just the points where he is not doing as well as
- 10:59he should. And we've talked about Rod being
- 11:01a limiter, a fantasy limiter. You know, that's definitely a
- 11:03big aspect of it, that certain point.
- 11:05You know it's got to be on him to take that step as well,
- 11:07right? They they I mean, when I say
- 11:10that I'm talking about like, you know, hockey analysts out there
- 11:13and commentators, like they always said, that sketch is like
- 11:16one of the best players to not hit fifty goals a game.
- 11:19Like the best, the best 5050 goal scorer who's never hit
- 11:21fifty goals. Like him and Cofield.
- 11:23They feel like the classic guy in that conversation.
- 11:26But I mean, all the guys on this list are gonna be walking double
- 11:29double s most likely, right? Two shots, two hits.
- 11:32I think he's the guy that's been doing it for so long.
- 11:34It's really just the points that really put the ceiling on his
- 11:38value, right. But let's say to put him line
- 11:411P1 for an entire season, I think he I think he is instantly
- 11:45probably a top three guy. Just what are the odds of Rod
- 11:49doing that right? Low, True.
- 11:51Every year we say that. Honestly, though, he might be.
- 11:55He might be one of the bigger draft values though, because I
- 11:57think he's going a lot later on this list than you would
- 11:59anticipate. In some, in some leagues, he's
- 12:01even falling into round 6. I feel like if you get a guy
- 12:03like this that can get this many shots and hits in round six in a
- 12:06bangers league, that's just like free value it feels like.
- 12:10Yeah, and if you look at his past few years, last year was by
- 12:13far his worst point per game year 48 and 72, just because
- 12:18Jaws drafted him like it's rough.
- 12:21I didn't draft him, I traded for.
- 12:22Him, Oh my God, even. Worse, he missed.
- 12:24He missed time, though. And like whenever you missed
- 12:26time, it's like not only the games that you missed, but also
- 12:28like the games where you're hurt and the games coming back, like
- 12:31you get eased into it again. So it really does impact the
- 12:35averages. But yeah, definitely the best
- 12:37season. Right.
- 12:38But OK, so two years he's missed time every year except for his
- 12:42rookie year, He only he played 82.
- 12:44Last year, he played 72 games, 48 points.
- 12:47The year before that, 59 games, 52 points.
- 12:50Yeah, you know, and 13 less games, you got three more
- 12:53points. Is Peshkov cooked or was it just
- 12:56a? Really, it's all a deployment
- 12:58question. Like last year he even spent
- 12:59time on line 3. It's unheard of.
- 13:02That's Rod for hundreds fetching Nikov online.
- 13:05Three like, make it make sense, you know?
- 13:08Yeah. And then with the addition of
- 13:10Ellers as well, that's another guy to kind of get in his way of
- 13:12good production, right. You've got the guarantees of
- 13:15Aho, Eilers and Jarvis, I think are the three guarantees in
- 13:17terms of that first power play unit along with Gostisbehere.
- 13:21And I mean, we have seen Rod put like Jackson Blake or stuff and
- 13:25Mason or something like that, you know, in that fifth power
- 13:27play spot instead of switching POV.
- 13:29It's not impossible to think that's gonna happen again.
- 13:32Rod feels like the type of coach to make his players skate like
- 13:36her. Brooks didn't Miracle.
- 13:40I mean. No spoilers, Kevin's never seen.
- 13:42It yeah, no, I didn't listen. I did hear anything you said.
- 13:44What I was going to say was I feel like I'm the biggest fan of
- 13:49Switch Nikov on this podcast and this is the first year that I'm
- 13:53just like, I wish you could see my face right now, but it's like
- 13:58it's like a. Uncertain.
- 14:00Yeah, very uncertain. That's the one.
- 14:02That's the word we should use. But.
- 14:03Yeah I mean all that to be said he still deserves to be #8 on
- 14:06this list cuz his banger cats are so unreal and he's like
- 14:09worst season was .67 points so that with with great bangers
- 14:14cats is still a guy you're very happy to have.
- 14:15Yeah, it's not a guy taking top 4 rounds.
- 14:17Yeah, it's just frustrating because you know, he could do so
- 14:19much better. And then what if this is the
- 14:22year he does so much better, You know, that's why he's always
- 14:25very. That's the opposite of the guys
- 14:27who are like, what if this is the year he finally drops off
- 14:29like an Ovechkin, right? You know, like it's the it's the
- 14:31opposite thing. It's like, do you risk getting
- 14:34him because this is the one he drops off?
- 14:35In this case, it's do you grab him?
- 14:36Because this year he could pop off so.
- 14:38Yeah, because the thing also is that, you know, you love him
- 14:41when he's on fire. Like I think the start last
- 14:44year, he was like one of the best players in fantasy.
- 14:47Like he was popping off and then next thing you know, you know,
- 14:51Carolina, Carolina is in a little bit of a a rough period
- 14:54and they're mixing up the lines and he ends up on power plate 2
- 14:57and line 3. And you're like, I just drafted
- 14:59this guy in the fifth round and he has one of the worst
- 15:02deployments on my fantasy team. And then at that point you're
- 15:05like, I wanna trade him, but nobody said trade for him.
- 15:07So we're kind of stuck holding the bag.
- 15:08And it's just extremely frustrating to watch.
- 15:10So maybe avoiding the headache is is the best course of action,
- 15:15but at a certain point like he's too valuable to have on your
- 15:18team. So that's it's about, it's about
- 15:19getting him at the value spot, you know, don't take him versus
- 15:22someone else who's more, you know, guaranteed that
- 15:24deployment. But if you can get him and like
- 15:26we said, like around six or something like that, that's
- 15:27pretty. Pretty good round 6 Ventura
- 15:29around 7 Slough. That's really tough.
- 15:35Devans laugh. I think, yeah.
- 15:38Because Slav also has his own power play questions too.
- 15:41Like there's always. A chance that he might get
- 15:42bumped down, yeah. Yeah, but you have a coach Saint
- 15:46Louis wants Slap to offensively succeed, whereas Rod just hates
- 15:51all fantasy hockey. That's a really good.
- 15:53Point but we also know that saying that we once line it to
- 15:57offensively succeed and he's been online for before so.
- 16:01Yeah, but the team is very much more invested in Sloughs
- 16:04progress than Lynas. Lynas a free agent after this
- 16:06year. Obviously they could resign him
- 16:07if he does well or a slap. We just locked up to 8 years
- 16:10like he was the number one overall pick.
- 16:12Like that's who they're dedicated.
- 16:13To I think, I think it's definitely interesting though,
- 16:14because on our line, obviously it's Suzuki and and Cofield,
- 16:18right? That third spot obviously is
- 16:20slap right now, but I would not be shocked at all if during the
- 16:24year the Canadians are struggling and they put them off
- 16:26there, you know what I mean? Like what?
- 16:29They're not bumping off Cofield so.
- 16:33It'll be interesting to see for sure, but that's why that's why
- 16:36these guys are #8 and #10 on the list and not higher.
- 16:39A lot more uncertainty, yeah, but let's talk about #7.
- 16:43Alright, at #7 this guy's especially really good if you're
- 16:47in a faceoff wins league. Vincent Trocheck of the New York
- 16:50Rangers last year .72 points, 2.5 shots, 2.6 hits and a bunch
- 16:56of faceoff wins as well which is just really great value for
- 16:59where you get them. I think last year Zibanejad
- 17:02might have been getting drafted higher than Trojak and I think
- 17:05even this year, like a lot of people, views a bandage out as
- 17:08the centre to have on the Rangers, but I think it's
- 17:11Trocheck. The only downside is if he gets
- 17:14bumped off our play one, that's a big, you know, cap, But even
- 17:17with that, he still puts up great bangers category numbers.
- 17:21There are few players that I hate playing against the fantasy
- 17:24hockey more than Vincent Trocheck.
- 17:26Every single time my opponent has him, I just.
- 17:29I mean, he's like Mark Stone to you guys, but.
- 17:33He's. Yours.
- 17:35No, like that's it. Trocheck is such a valuable
- 17:38bangers league guy year after year.
- 17:40I mean, since like the Florida days, he's just been such a
- 17:43stud. Every team he succeeds
- 17:45everywhere he goes. And I think that New York, we
- 17:48all think the Rangers are a very solid positive regression team.
- 17:51The power play one spot is if he truly, I don't even think he's
- 17:54gonna get it, but it almost doesn't even matter for his
- 17:57value. Like his bank accounts are so
- 17:59solidified. His faceoffs are amazing.
- 18:01And yeah, sure, he may get 5-7 less points on the season, but
- 18:05week to week that may be negligible for your points.
- 18:08And if he does crack that power play 1 like this guy's a stud.
- 18:12Yeah. And regardless of power play
- 18:14one, he's definitely line 1 enter at even strength.
- 18:17So his even strength deployment is gonna be amazing and the
- 18:20bangers cats come regardless of the power play 1.
- 18:22So that's more of like an upside as opposed to a risk in my point
- 18:25of view. The one, the one thing with show
- 18:27track though, that I'm definitely like monitoring is
- 18:30obviously the power play time is crucial for his offensive value.
- 18:34And if he doesn't get that power play, like no matter how good of
- 18:36a banger is, I'd rather have fetching coffee.
- 18:38What I mean? No, I disagree.
- 18:41If something is power play 2 and such as power play 1.
- 18:44If I have that guarantee coming into this year, but they're
- 18:47still volatility with Schmackos lines, meaning he could be line
- 18:50three, I would take Trocheck. Because if you look at project
- 18:54last year, I feel like that was the first year that he had,
- 18:57let's say, a decrease in his points.
- 19:02So, you know, you have the question this year as well with
- 19:04JT there, you know, Project could end up being line 2C
- 19:08technically. And if he's not on power plate
- 19:11one, I think it's gonna be sick for bangers.
- 19:14Like he's the type of guy that could average three shots, three
- 19:16hits, which is insane value for bangers leagues, but I
- 19:20understand why he's going a little later in in in drafts.
- 19:22He still should be drafted ahead of his Majad, obviously, but
- 19:27there's just that slight piece in the back of my mind that I'm
- 19:29just like, what if he takes another step back and points?
- 19:32And yeah, he's great for bangers.
- 19:34But at that point, you know, I you could get like a Sam
- 19:36Bennett. And I think you're just the
- 19:37same. You just draft him expecting
- 19:40similar points to last year and if he gets that power play one.
- 19:43It's just an upside. Don't draft him expecting him.
- 19:47To his price is pretty expensive for a guy that you're expecting
- 19:50to get Power Play 2 and Power Play 1 is addressing upside
- 19:52though. Yeah, but that's because of how
- 19:55good he is at his bangers. Yeah, like they're really elite.
- 19:58Yeah, there's no, there's no question for the deployment and
- 20:02the deployment equals more Bangor stud categories, but
- 20:06we're especially of. To your point, also, like we saw
- 20:09all of New York kind of suck last year.
- 20:11So yeah, if they bounce back, project probably bounces back
- 20:14too. So it's just in the background
- 20:16back. They should bounce back,
- 20:18especially offensively. I think their defence sucks.
- 20:23Yeah. I mean, yeah, they traded.
- 20:24On otherwise, I mean they they got an amazing goalie and they
- 20:28have really, really those top 2 lines are sick.
- 20:32If I like him, I like a lot. I mean a lot.
- 20:35Of great, I'd be super happy to have him on my team.
- 20:36For Bangers League, yeah he's nuts, but yeah, it's.
- 20:42Project or Robert Thomas. Different archetype?
- 20:46Yeah, different archetype. I mean if you look at
- 20:49projections like Robert Thomas gonna get like 90 points this
- 20:51year. Yeah, and I love Robert Thomas,
- 20:53so I'm just curious what you guys think.
- 20:56Hmm. I think I'm going with, I guess
- 21:00I would go Thomas just because of that, you know, like we've
- 21:03been talking about deployment, right, he's the main guy and.
- 21:07The Blues are gonna be good this year.
- 21:08Yeah, but it doesn't mean I don't want to say that to take
- 21:12away from track. I'm still very high on track.
- 21:14Yeah, that's. One is definitely the PowerPoint
- 21:15is definitely a question mark. It's not like I'm not saying
- 21:18it's great that he's not guaranteed, probably one.
- 21:20I'm just saying that it doesn't take away from how good he is at
- 21:22the rest of his categories. Yeah, totally agree.
- 21:25Speaking of Saint Louis. I thought you were gonna try it.
- 21:30No. Here's the guy.
- 21:33Alright, I'm the guy. You're Elijah Woods, Bruce
- 21:36Spikes. 3. The references keep making it
- 21:40back. Alright, at number six we have
- 21:42my best friend from last season, Dylan Holloway of the Saint
- 21:45Louis Blues. Just lost his mind.
- 21:49I, he, I literally traded validity was part of a trade
- 21:52outgoing for Dylan Holloway. So, you know, sorry Vilardi, but
- 21:56Holloway is my new best friend. But yeah, if you if you own this
- 22:00guy last year first. You won't get 120 points after
- 22:03he heard you say. That if you owned this guy last
- 22:05year, you probably picked him up off free agency, so you pretty
- 22:09much got him for free and he was unreal, especially towards the
- 22:12end of the season. Over the whole season he had .82
- 22:15points, 2.3 shots, 2.1 hits, but that's counting the beginning of
- 22:19the season where he really didn't do that much.
- 22:21So the fact that he was able to perform at such a high level
- 22:25towards the end of the season makes you think that if you can
- 22:27pull that together for a whole season, he's going to be such a
- 22:30value pick up in the draft this year because he still doesn't
- 22:32have that name value. So you can get him later than
- 22:34you should for a player who has this potential.
- 22:38I just want to say I think I'd rather have Robert Thomas over
- 22:40Vincent Trocheck. Now for Dylan Holloway, I feel
- 22:46like he's going to be yet another draft day value because
- 22:50where his ADP is, his name value has not caught up to what he did
- 22:54on the ice last year. And I feel like even, no, even
- 22:58taken ahead of ADP, he's still going to be a value.
- 23:01This guy was insane. Saint Louis, I think are gonna
- 23:04be starting off the season much stronger than they did last
- 23:07year, right? So I think he has all the tools
- 23:10to, to set himself up to be a huge banger league stud this
- 23:14year. I, I would love to have him.
- 23:16I feel like he's going to be one of our three teams this year.
- 23:20I'm probably gonna reach on him. Yeah, I think Josh is gonna get
- 23:23him. But The thing is like, I also
- 23:25want to take advantage of him not having the name recognition,
- 23:27right? So you wanna get him as late as
- 23:29possible, but I don't wanna miss out on him either, so.
- 23:33Murder Dylan Holloway. Holloway not even close to.
- 23:35Me, you, we just did a mock where you took over door at
- 23:38round 3. OK the mock we did, I had zero
- 23:41the monkey that had 0 preparation I was meaning it.
- 23:43I also took venture off with my last pic because.
- 23:45It's my anniversary. You have to do it right.
- 23:50I. Want to point out that the Blues
- 23:53hired Montgomery as their head coach in November 2024, so that
- 23:59means that he wasn't there at the beginning of the season.
- 24:04This guy is just such an amazing coach and I think that there
- 24:08he's gonna get the best out of his players so.
- 24:10We talk about Montgomery is like the opposite of how we talk
- 24:12about like Rod. Yeah, exactly.
- 24:14Even though it's like, OK, John Cooper is probably the gold
- 24:17standard for getting value out of your players for fantasy
- 24:20purposes. This is Rod is like the Arthur
- 24:23Smith to make an NFL reference. Sorry, Josh.
- 24:28Like he's like you have an amazing player on that team, but
- 24:31like the fantasy value is not to be found anywhere but Dylan
- 24:35Holloway this year with all the prep like with an amazing coach
- 24:38being like a centerpiece on this high scoring probably team.
- 24:42I love it. I love.
- 24:43It I want to. Play my team so bad.
- 24:45Do you think the Holloway could get a point per game this year?
- 24:47Yeah, easily. Easily.
- 24:49Yeah, I'm so high on this guy. What's easier, Dylan Holloway to
- 24:52get a point per game or to get 80 points per game?
- 24:59I was like me a second. Kevin said it was really easy
- 25:04for. Nice.
- 25:04Yeah, I wasn't really so easy for that.
- 25:09All right, all right. Now, but honestly, like I'd be
- 25:12very surprised if he's like as under the radar as I feel like
- 25:16he is. But if any of our listeners, if
- 25:18any of our listeners there didn't know about him already,
- 25:23I'm so high on this guy. This is the guy to take.
- 25:26OK, wait, let me give you some, would you rathers then?
- 25:28So Jasper, Brad or Dylan Holloway.
- 25:30Holloway. That's that this is this is
- 25:33round 4 value right now. Yes, for Brad is probably around
- 25:364:00 pick this year. Yeah.
- 25:38I'm taking. Gallego, Brad, sorry.
- 25:40I'm taking Holloway as well. Holloway over just for Brad.
- 25:42OK, let me go up Jake. Gensel Holloway.
- 25:49Dang. OK, weird.
- 25:51OK, did you go first, Josh? I have thoughts.
- 25:55OK, you guys are gonna kill me, but I'm going to Holloway.
- 25:57Wow, John, are you gonna take him in round 3?
- 26:01No, but round 4 I'm seriously considering.
- 26:05It instinctively wait wait just one second here instinctively I
- 26:10wanna say Gensel, but why do I really want Gensel so much over
- 26:15brat and I easily said haul away over Brad so.
- 26:19Confused you guys hate Brett even though he was amazing for
- 26:21me last. Year I guess just Panarin light
- 26:24for me aren't great. No, but I used the heparin
- 26:29before he did like 100 and whatever points he did.
- 26:33Yeah, I guess I'm gonna go with with Gensel there just because
- 26:36it's shelter a bit better than brats.
- 26:38Keep going. Let's see how far I'll go for
- 26:39Dylan Holloway. OK, let's see Tage.
- 26:42No, I'm going tage OK there. We go.
- 26:44We found it pretty quick OK. That's a good bar.
- 26:47Shall we move? Wait.
- 26:50Would you say? Suzuki.
- 26:55God had to kill me. Uncertain.
- 26:56Face right now. You guys are gonna kill me, but
- 26:58I'm going Holloway. Wow.
- 27:02Wow, you did you. Did not put it this way that
- 27:06time. Put it this way, yeah.
- 27:12Yikes, Big Yikes. OK, well, I mean that that he's
- 27:17he's up there. Kevin, wait, what sounds?
- 27:19Like I'm gonna get him this year if I'm not.
- 27:21Waiting. I'm Suzuki.
- 27:23I'll take Suzuki as well. Why though?
- 27:26I think you could. What does Suzuki have over
- 27:28Holloway other than a few more points?
- 27:302. Shots.
- 27:30I think it's gonna be more than a few more.
- 27:32Points and like 90. Points I think always got better
- 27:35shots and hits. I think Suzuki could get 90
- 27:38points. I think Holloway probably ends
- 27:40around 70 to 75. OK, but you're getting an extra
- 27:46two hits out of Holloway and an extra like .5 shots out of
- 27:48Holloway. 'S face off stuff.
- 27:51OK, who cares about face offs? One of them was a centre and one
- 27:54of them was the centre is gonna. Get.
- 27:56I think the shots are pretty even.
- 27:59I think, I think the shots are pretty even and I think the
- 28:01power play for Montreal will be more.
- 28:04If you guys wanna make our first gear, but I'll tell you that
- 28:06Holloway is gonna shoot more than Suzuki this year.
- 28:08I mean that's fine. I think they're pretty even.
- 28:10Like last year the Holloway was up 2.3, this week was a 2.1 I
- 28:13think I think. Yeah, but remember, Halloween
- 28:15season stats are counting this start of the season.
- 28:17Before and we also expect Suzuki to take a step up this year as
- 28:20well, right? Yeah.
- 28:21But honestly, in the shots department, I think he's gonna
- 28:23be setting up a lot of Cofield, a lot of Lionel, a lot of
- 28:25Demidov. Like I don't, I don't see him.
- 28:27Let's make points about. No points I think Suzuki's gonna
- 28:31get. More.
- 28:31OK, well, how much, how much more do you think?
- 28:34I would say Suzuki has 10 more points in the hallway minimum.
- 28:37I could see 10 more points. Yeah, OK, I see.
- 28:40I think, I think with that points difference, I'm
- 28:41definitely taking Holloway Like only 10 points difference and
- 28:44you're getting like literally 2 extra hits a game and then a few
- 28:48more shots a game. I mean not a few more shots a
- 28:50game, but like like .5 shots a game.
- 28:51OK, 15 points. I don't know about that.
- 28:58So that's the line. 15 points will make your bed.
- 29:00First, get rid of the season. And I'm not involved.
- 29:06Let me get back to you. Actually, no, no, you know.
- 29:08You know right now. You know what?
- 29:10What's the loss here? Worst case, I have to drink a
- 29:12beer. Yeah, I'll take.
- 29:16That, or if you're just don't even have to drink it.
- 29:20Wow, you're gonna out him like this?
- 29:24Quit. I will say if you wanna make
- 29:27beer better with us this year, you, you really have to sell it
- 29:30that you're gonna do it because me and Kevin are both honored
- 29:32ours, but you did not so. Alright, I I'm so I promise.
- 29:36OK, Kevin believes, Josh, that. Nick Suzuki scores 15 more
- 29:41points than. You need over 15 more.
- 29:45When is 14 1/2? Now, honestly.
- 29:48Yeah, the light is 14 1/2 and we're moving on.
- 29:50OK, fine. Right #5.
- 29:54Alright #5 had his best season ever last season and he's always
- 29:59been a bangers beast, but he turned into a bangers beast that
- 30:02also has a points guy. Enough background will just say
- 30:04it's Tom Wilson on the Washington Capitals last year
- 30:07pointing points per game at 1.2 Pimms, 2.1 shots and 2.9 hits.
- 30:11He's a monster. Just to put in perspective
- 30:13though, how much better this season was versus any of his
- 30:17previous seasons. Last season he got 65 points.
- 30:19His next highest was 52. So I'm a believer in the
- 30:24Washington regression, but but I do think that he's still gonna
- 30:28be amazing. I have the exact opposite take.
- 30:33I was gonna say might as well honestly talk about #4 at the
- 30:36same time cuz their teammates. Alright, you guys wanna just
- 30:40dive in and do it 2 at once, fine.
- 30:42Alright, so #5 Tom Wilson #4 Alexander Ovechkin on the top
- 30:48four power forwards for this year.
- 30:50Josh, you put them pretty high for somebody that doesn't like
- 30:53Washington this year. Look, you gotta show respect
- 30:55where respect is due. You know, like, I don't like
- 30:58Washington this year. I think they're gonna regress.
- 30:59I think a lot of people are gonna be caught holding the bag
- 31:01on Washington players who are great last year.
- 31:03And I think we're going to take a step back this year.
- 31:05But doesn't mean they're gonna take shoot down into the
- 31:08basement. You know, like, I just think
- 31:09they're gonna be slightly worse than last year.
- 31:11Last year had a pretty crazy year so.
- 31:13I think especially when we talk about regression for stats for
- 31:16for players due to age or due to whatnot, it's usually points
- 31:19related that the peripheral categories like Shaws, hits and
- 31:22blocks tend to usually stay the same.
- 31:26So, and that's why you want these bangers on your team,
- 31:29right? The reason why they're so high
- 31:30is because we know that they have a point ceiling attached to
- 31:32them as well. And we know OV can go.
- 31:35I mean, he kind of broke fantasy last year.
- 31:37Like I feel like last year was the first year that his ADP
- 31:39really took a step back and you got him at a bigger value than
- 31:42we usually do. And then he was a top ten player
- 31:45because he was chasing the Gretzky record and he was
- 31:48scoring every game and they were giving him every empty net and
- 31:50they were setting him up for success.
- 31:51And JQ really reveled in that, the opportunity last year.
- 31:57But I think this year, obviously it can't be what it was last
- 31:59year. There's always a shot ceiling
- 32:03diminished a little bit, like he was at 3.7 last year.
- 32:06Can I see him average 33.2 this year?
- 32:11Yeah, I mean 40 Let's. Not be less than 3.
- 32:13Yeah. Which is still great. 1.7 hits
- 32:16last year. He's not going to drop below
- 32:18like 1.5, you know, like that's why I still put him here, you
- 32:20know, even though I believe that like the points are gonna
- 32:22regress, he's still a bingers beast.
- 32:24The the the thing for me, though, is why I feel like I'm
- 32:29not as out on Washington as you are, Josh, is mostly because I
- 32:33think the power play can still click.
- 32:35Like I feel like they have a lot of exciting pieces to keep the
- 32:37power play afloat. Now that especially Chagrin took
- 32:40that step up and John Carlson might not be the power
- 32:42quarterback anymore. If that power play still stays
- 32:45like, let's say, I don't know, top half of the league, I think
- 32:49it can. It can stop the regression of
- 32:51their points to a certain level and still make them like
- 32:53obviously good fantasy players. I just think that all their
- 32:56young guys and their old guys had their best seasons of their
- 33:00career. And even if two or one or two of
- 33:05them, you know, step back, that's gonna affect the rest of
- 33:07the team. And I don't expect every player
- 33:09on that team to keep hitting their personal records, so.
- 33:12That's why I think I feel sick because last year these guys
- 33:14were like top 20 players in Mangers leagues.
- 33:16Like that's value right? Cause you're drafting them in.
- 33:19Well, that's I'm saying you guys are still number four and five
- 33:23on the list, right, and there's still like high up there, like I
- 33:25still, you know, like I said, should respect where do these
- 33:27guys are bangers beats. I would be super happy to have
- 33:29either of them on my squad. The thing I'm worried about is
- 33:31other people drafting them where the point stealing from last
- 33:35year was when I would want to draft them maybe around later
- 33:38than they end up getting drafted.
- 33:39So where would you draft them? Ovi's going in in round three.
- 33:45Round 3/4 is like the latest he's following.
- 33:48Are you taking him there? You are you taking the other
- 33:50guys? I'm taking the other guys, I
- 33:53think. Round 3 right now if we look at
- 33:57ADP, and this is not for like main bangers leagues, but around
- 34:003:00 you can get Phillip Forsberg.
- 34:03Yeah, I would take Forsberg over OV.
- 34:04OK. Would you take Gensel?
- 34:08No, I think I would take over Ansel not it's not that I'm on
- 34:12Washington believer. It's just that Gensel doesn't is
- 34:14not one of these bangers guys you.
- 34:15Know. Yeah, Boldy.
- 34:17No. That's interesting.
- 34:19I really, I'm really high on Boldy.
- 34:20I like Minnesota, I think. I think.
- 34:22Boston Globe for. Sure.
- 34:23Why are you thinking OJK? I think Bobby gets more points
- 34:26and the shots are comparable but Ovi gets the hits.
- 34:29Yeah, and and the the goals specifically are harder to come
- 34:32by and then the power play points I also think are going to
- 34:34be good. Well, OK, so Tom Wilson I think
- 34:38is going to regress negatively points wise.
- 34:41I could change getting back into.
- 34:43That he admits something against his magical Washington Capitals.
- 34:46Yeah. But the reason I'm still higher
- 34:48on them is because I think Ryan Leonard is going to be very
- 34:52good. And I also think that Dubois and
- 34:57is also was not a flash in the pan that he's actually a good
- 35:00player. Their defence is solid.
- 35:03As people ever put together 2 good seasons in a row.
- 35:06It's a it's a good point. I haven't done the that that
- 35:10analysis, but and I actually think Protis is quite good.
- 35:13So what I'm kinda getting at here is that I think that at
- 35:17some point there's a chance that Wilson doesn't stay on power
- 35:19play 1. Nevertheless, he's still a
- 35:20banger league stud. Everyone's happy with Wilson.
- 35:23To have him money, especially if you really get Pimms as well.
- 35:26Yeah, and like there's no way chicken stays right wing on the
- 35:291st power play. They ran double defence last
- 35:33year. Honestly, it wasn't terrible.
- 35:34No, I know. I just think that I mean produce
- 35:37is not currently listed on one of their players and I.
- 35:39Think it was 9 NHL seasons. He's only put together 2.
- 35:42Like he's only had two good seasons in a row once.
- 35:46One was that. It was 20/21/22 and then 2223,
- 35:51both on Winnipeg. He had 60 points.
- 35:54And he might do it again. Yeah, he's gonna do.
- 35:56It the year I treated him away, you guys told me he was gonna
- 35:59suck the whole year, so I traded him away and then he was a
- 36:01beast. I can't believe.
- 36:04Yeah, so, so I I think Josh, you're saying you're low on
- 36:07Washington, remain decently high on Wilson.
- 36:09I'm lower on Wilson's points. Still a stud for Bangor leagues,
- 36:13but I think Washington's gonna. Would you rather have Tom Wilson
- 36:16or Zach Hyman? Will Simon?
- 36:19Wow, I split the difference. I can't believe you would,
- 36:23actually. You know what I will say though,
- 36:24with the Hymen, he did put up crazy hits in the playoffs.
- 36:27Yeah, I haven't seen him do it in the regular season, which is
- 36:30why I'm still on. I don't think he will feel like
- 36:32playoff hockey is just different and they're not trying to get 10
- 36:35hits a game in the regular season.
- 36:36Yeah, that's true. Anyways, I'm still going to
- 36:38Wilson. I'm surprised you go home.
- 36:39And Jackie? Tom Wilson as well.
- 36:44Tom Wilson or Timo Meyer Tom Wilson for.
- 36:46Sure. Yeah, alright, let's go.
- 36:50Number #3. Alright at #3 of the amazing
- 36:55team Nashville Predators, we've got Philip Forsberg.
- 36:59Last year he put up .93 points, 3.4 shots, 1.8 hits per game.
- 37:04That's crazy for how bad a Nashville was.
- 37:08About his start was. It was so bad, yeah, it was the
- 37:11ultimate Bilo for about 3/4 of last season.
- 37:14I've never felt closer to you than while I was a Forsberg
- 37:18holder last year. I heard you every single day,
- 37:22Josh was like day. Hours.
- 37:24He's never gonna bounce back. Treat him to my team.
- 37:27And I was close. You almost did.
- 37:28I, I almost did it, it was, it was quite close, but I'm happy I
- 37:33held even though I think Slough was coming my way in one of the
- 37:36trades which would have, would have paid off.
- 37:39You already started. Good for you, you know.
- 37:41Mischievous look, Yeah, I. Think the biggest thing would
- 37:45Forsberg is do you expect regression due to his age?
- 37:48And also do you do you expect the points regression because
- 37:52Nashville is just still a bad team because we saw last year,
- 37:54last year. What was you know, on on the
- 37:56season. It looks nice, right?
- 37:57He's like all almost a point per game.
- 38:00But during the season, it was like zero points for two weeks,
- 38:03and then he had one week where he got like 6 points in two
- 38:06games, you know? So it's very like highs and
- 38:08lows, which is not necessarily great for your matchups.
- 38:11I'm not worried about regression because the fact he was able to
- 38:13do this on such a garbage team, even if they're the worst team
- 38:16in the league again, he can do it again.
- 38:18What worries me is what you just mentioned in the consistency.
- 38:20So I think season wide he can do this again and it's going to be
- 38:23great value overall. But the fact that he can go a
- 38:26few months doing nothing and then he'll turn it into
- 38:28OverDrive to even out that season average is very scary as
- 38:30a as a season long holder. Yeah, I I think Nashville is
- 38:34going to be a little bit less bad.
- 38:37I know it's kind of. Hard to they can't get worse
- 38:39than they were last year. I mean they technically can, but
- 38:41like only three spots worse so. It was so, so abysmal.
- 38:47And I don't look. He's only 31.
- 38:50He's not that old. I don't think the age is
- 38:52necessarily a problem. He's the centerpiece on that
- 38:54team. This is the the quintessential
- 38:57picking a good player on a bad team and that bad team, I don't
- 39:02think we'll be as bad necessarily.
- 39:04So I guess my one question like I love Forsberg and I would love
- 39:07to have my team this year. Other than consistency, my one
- 39:10other question with him is we all kind of think that Yoshi's
- 39:13gonna take a step back this year, right?
- 39:14With the injury into the age and all that.
- 39:16How does that affect Forsberg? Cuz for his, you know, the past
- 39:19bit when he's been a monster and fantasy he's always had Yoshi
- 39:22there has his like. Power play as well.
- 39:25Yeah, and that's like the next man down on their defence is,
- 39:28you know, I don't even think they have an X man down.
- 39:30He's gonna be the blinking step back.
- 39:32Yeah, so, so that's a big question mark, right For Forrest
- 39:36breaks the value. It is.
- 39:38I think the power play success is kind of like what ends up
- 39:41making either Forsberg or really good value in round three or
- 39:44probably around 4 level player. But you you just know you're
- 39:48getting high level shots and high level hits and that's so
- 39:50hard to come by when they're this high.
- 39:52Like he's gonna average almost two hits a game and he'll get
- 39:55three to four shots a game, which is elite numbers.
- 39:58And that's why he's so high on this bangers forwards list.
- 40:01I think. My question Forsberg or Macklin
- 40:04Celebri? That's a great one.
- 40:09It's so rough. I'm going Forestburg still even
- 40:11though I'm so high on Mac, but it's just the shots and hits, I
- 40:15think. I think Maclin will get the
- 40:17shots as well, and I think they'll be comparable for
- 40:19points, but I don't think he's gonna hit like Forsberg does.
- 40:22Celebrity because of the floor. Basically the same stuff, Josh.
- 40:25Said OK, one more Forsberg or Panarin in a bangers league.
- 40:31Forsberg. These guys are like, that's like
- 40:35end of round two kind of pick. Yeah, Forsberg.
- 40:38OK, Larry needs like 20 plus more points.
- 40:41I have to give you guys one that you're gonna.
- 40:42Take it even. Not for Forsberg, Reinhart.
- 40:45Reinhardt. OK, there you go, this.
- 40:47Is I actually, I dodged the Reinhart last year because I
- 40:50thought what he did the year before was a flash in the pan,
- 40:52but now that he's done it two years in a row, I'm like,
- 40:54alright, this guy's just great. Yeah, Ryan Reinhart, Nielander.
- 40:58Nylander. Yeah, Nylander.
- 41:00OK, All right, let's move on to #2.
- 41:04All right, at #2 he is a vengers darling, as we like to say.
- 41:09He often goes in the first round.
- 41:11This year he might drop to second round early, second
- 41:14round, some like that. But he is no longer on
- 41:17Vancouver, he is on New York. It is JT Miller.
- 41:20Last year I had .97 points per game, 1.9 shots and 2.3 hits.
- 41:25For any new listeners, JT stands for Jonathan Poneman.
- 41:28Yes. You have to be there last.
- 41:31Officially, yeah, I I think there's nothing but good things
- 41:36to say about this guy. And the fact that he's still
- 41:39like, the fact that he's going around 2 now is a huge surprise
- 41:42because Kevin and I debated between Kucherov and JT Miller
- 41:47last year. Yeah, but for the fans out there
- 41:51listening, JT, we play in the face off league as well.
- 41:55JT is centre right wing, so getting face off from a right
- 41:58wing eligible is really valuable.
- 41:59And there's not many guys that are a double, double and average
- 42:03of point per game or higher. I think the question with JT is
- 42:07can he hit over that point per game ceiling that he's hit in
- 42:10the past? Because the one thing that makes
- 42:14me really curious about his value this year and he's going
- 42:16to be a second or third round player in most of your leagues.
- 42:21In our league he probably is going to be like a late first
- 42:23round pick. Guy is his shot volume.
- 42:28His shot volume, we saw it decreased last year.
- 42:32We've seen it be higher in the past.
- 42:33I don't know which JT we get when it comes to that, but he's
- 42:36going to be getting line 1 minutes, P1 minutes on this
- 42:40Rangers team, the Rangers team looking for a bounce back.
- 42:43We've seen how good he is. He's like very talismanic for
- 42:45his team. Whatever team he's on, I feel
- 42:47like he's the main guy. I I'm, I'm confident JT gets
- 42:51over two shots a game this year. Yeah, I agree with you being
- 42:54that being the big question, right?
- 42:56Because we're talking these power forwards, what we're
- 42:58looking at is really shots and hits in addition to the points.
- 43:01And so if they're not, they're just hitting and pointing.
- 43:03That's still great. But shots is a key 1.
- 43:05And I think his numbers were brought down by the whole
- 43:07Vancouver drama last year and we all think Rangers are bouncing
- 43:10back. So it's gonna be a great year
- 43:11for. Him.
- 43:12Would you take him? Would you take him in the first
- 43:14room? Yes, he did so well on the
- 43:16Rangers too. Yeah, I like doing that switch.
- 43:19Mid season is tough. Like it really very rarely
- 43:23works, so I was very impressed by that.
- 43:28I would take him late round one. For me, the only thing is that I
- 43:30usually like to punt face off wins.
- 43:31You guys know that, so I would have to.
- 43:34Be still a point per game player.
- 43:35I was gonna say I'd have to be comfortable that the rest of his
- 43:37stats still make him around one player, but I think they do.
- 43:40If you're in a league that doesn't have faceoff wins and
- 43:43counts plus minus, I think JT usually falls like the third or
- 43:47fourth round. I think that he's a value there,
- 43:50but would you rather have like JT or Tage Thompson?
- 43:53JT JT Yeah. OK, JT or Philip Forsberg.
- 43:57J Yeah. OK, JT or Sam Reinhart, JT.
- 44:01Yeah, still. OK, J or Mitch Marner.
- 44:05JT. JT Rantanen.
- 44:08J. OK, well, that's that's Randy's
- 44:12gonna be a first round pick JT or Jack Eichel. 80.
- 44:17Wow, I think I got equal. OK, JT Jacques.
- 44:22JT, I rather like call. I rather I call over Hughes.
- 44:28You have to keep going for Jake. You've already broke me off the
- 44:30J2 train. Let's see how far you can go.
- 44:33JT or Quinn Hughes? JT.
- 44:37JT or basically Kirill, Capri, Zov.
- 44:41Kaprizov. OK.
- 44:42Yeah, OK. So.
- 44:44Jake is taking him at pick 9 in fantasy this year.
- 44:48Wait, why? Why was Barkov not mentioned in
- 44:51that whole thing? I was.
- 44:52Expecting I'd rather have Eichel than Barkov, I'd rather have
- 44:55than Barkov. I feel OK so but.
- 44:58Going through tears. Like.
- 45:02Like ADP, Barkov usually goes in fourth round ish.
- 45:07Wow, what a steel. Yeah, that's crazy.
- 45:10Yeah, that's absurd. Face off in faceoff leaks.
- 45:14He's gonna be going higher, obviously.
- 45:15Yeah. But Barkov, he does what JT
- 45:18does, he just doesn't get the hits.
- 45:19So do any difference is pretty significant.
- 45:22Between 9:00 and 12:00 overall in a bangers league.
- 45:26I think in a points league mid rounds.
- 45:28So you're taking him right before this next guy because #1
- 45:31is the best banger in all of fantasy forever.
- 45:35It is Brady Kuchuk. If you're surprised, you
- 45:39probably haven't been playing fantasy, but.
- 45:41I'm gonna say, if you're surprised, you haven't been in a
- 45:43Bangers league for very long. This guy just breaks fantasy
- 45:46when it comes to bangers. He will always be the best guy.
- 45:48Like there's nobody that shoots and hits at his level.
- 45:51And Pimms. And Pimms, it's just a
- 45:53combination. Isn't us.
- 45:54The only thing that they have to serve him is he couldn't be
- 45:56perfect. He doesn't get a lot of points.
- 45:58But I think this year, Ottawa, we saw last year it took a jump.
- 46:01I think this year they can take an even bigger.
- 46:03Does that mean even more positive regression for his
- 46:05points? Probably.
- 46:07But The thing is just he's such a Unicorn.
- 46:09What what he does for for shots and hits.
- 46:11He gets the amount of shots and hits for two bangers guys in one
- 46:15slot. It's nuts.
- 46:16I think if you're looking at round one picks and bangers
- 46:19leagues, he's probably pick number 67.
- 46:23Like that's probably where he goes.
- 46:25Yeah. And he had a bad point here last
- 46:27year. So I expect that to positively
- 46:29regress a lot. And the team is improving also
- 46:31around him. So I think, yeah, that's his one
- 46:34kind of quote UN quote downside. But it should be a step up this
- 46:37year, which is makes him even more scary.
- 46:39Yeah, Kevin, if you do the, would you rather start from the
- 46:42top? For me it's obviously McKinnon,
- 46:45McDavid dry side stapled top four in a bangers league.
- 46:49After that it's probably Matthews Pasta Kaprizov in one
- 46:53tier. I would take to chalk over
- 46:55capris. OK, fair.
- 46:58So but you take Matthews and passed over to Chuck.
- 47:00Yeah, yeah. So that means he's 7 on your
- 47:02list unless you're taking my car.
- 47:03That I had on my list I had to match.
- 47:05Seven scary times to be near each.
- 47:08Other Josh, I think if you're if you're in a bangers league and
- 47:11you get pick 7 or pick 8 and you're able to get Brady as your
- 47:14first round pick and then you know you're as close to turn as
- 47:18possible while you can still get Brady, I think that's just a
- 47:20steal and value. Like you could end up getting
- 47:22Brady and, and you're in a 12 team lead.
- 47:24You can get Brady and Nielander, you could get Brady and Jack
- 47:27Hughes and you you get the guy with the points upside as well
- 47:31as, you know, the guy that's gonna break the league and shots
- 47:34and hits. And it's just.
- 47:35Crazy problems Trocheck, but I hate playing against Brady.
- 47:38Chuck to Chuck the most not. You see, if you're playing
- 47:41against Brady and it's a four-game week for Ottawa, you
- 47:44could just kiss like him. Shots and hits.
- 47:46Goodbye. Unless you have Will Cooley on
- 47:50your team. Yeah, good point.
- 47:52But you know what it is about to talk like.
- 47:54The truth is that if you end up having him, I would even maybe
- 47:58even reach tip for him at six. I think of one pick ahead of.
- 48:02You I mean it is a reach. It is.
- 48:06Like 120 points, Like it's a big deal for someone who could get
- 48:0950 less points. The thing with Brady to Chuck is
- 48:12that it completely changes your opponent strategy on the week.
- 48:15Like you just you just literally punt the categories.
- 48:18Also just talking. About yeah, but The thing is
- 48:19also like, you can't just like decide to punt the category at
- 48:22like week 10 in the fantasy season, right?
- 48:24Like your team is already built in a certain way.
- 48:26So you don't just like, I'm gonna get rid of all my hits
- 48:28guys for this week. Like you can't just stuck,
- 48:30right? Just make those guys even less
- 48:32valuable because your opponent has Brady, which is why he's so
- 48:35valuable that it just kind of like neutralizes half the
- 48:39players on your opponents team because what they're doing is
- 48:41irrelevant to the fantasy. Metro yeah, your opponent has
- 48:43guys like Trouba and Gudis or whatever, and you're like, cool,
- 48:46thanks for those empty roster spots because my brain is just
- 48:48gonna outdo all of them. Combined, you can drop those
- 48:51guys because they're valuable to have to round out your team in a
- 48:53bangers league, but you know that this week they're just
- 48:55zeros on your roster pretty much.
- 48:57Yeah, it's like he's the bangers goat.
- 48:59That's the bankers gold. I've never had Brady on one of
- 49:02my teams, but I feel like this is.
- 49:03I hope I get a pick in our league where I can draft them.
- 49:08Only six. I was gonna say the only pick
- 49:10you can get him at probably is like 6 or 7, right?
- 49:13Because if you get an. Earlier, if you're lucky, you
- 49:14get 9. I could see people taking about
- 49:185 over Matthews. I wouldn't, but it's.
- 49:20I think it just depends who's who's in your league and where
- 49:23they like him. But yeah, that's the top 10.
- 49:26Can we just draft now? So we got a month until our.
- 49:29Draft. Oh my God.
