- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: How are you today?
- 0:20[SPEAKER_02]: I'm well, thank you.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, my name's Alyssa and I'll be your buddy's staff.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_00]: Can I please take your drink order?
- 0:25[SPEAKER_02]: Mocha latte.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_00]: Mocha latte you got it.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_00]: Okay first, I want you because it's tradition.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_00]: I want you to choose a chocolate of your choice.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_00]: To enjoy while I get your chocolate ready.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_02]: Oh right, go ahead.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_00]: Beautiful.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: Now let me guess.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_00]: Did you play basketball?
- 0:40[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a basketball player.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_02]: I know.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: I love that.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_00]: We're excited to have you on the show, though.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_02]: Like what?
- 0:47[SPEAKER_00]: Let me bring you over here to Joe Shelby.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_00]: Just do it.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_00]: Follow me, please.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to another episode of Coffee's With Joe Show, who today I'm sitting here with Joe Wallace.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_01]: Former NBA player, Sierra Entrepreneur, and a very active investor and V.C.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_01]: He was also the former CEO of Vondutch.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_01]: Please welcome the one behind Joe.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks, Joe.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks so much, Jeff.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_01]: All right, Joe, we're going to dive right into it.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_01]: I like to ask everybody the same question.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_01]: What's your morning routine?
- 1:19[SPEAKER_02]: Before I am, check emails, go through my text messages, because I turned my phone off at about 8.30 at night, because I've got a good bit about nine o'clock.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_02]: And really start today, depends, probably three days out of the week, I'm at Equinox at about five a.m. like I was today, swimming and steam and sauna, and just try to, you know, buy a lot of other, try, just try to stay afloat.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_02]: That's it.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_01]: For him, that's a really wake-up call.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I've got a better lease, so I can't.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_02]: That's the way to roll.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_02]: It is.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, you form a pro basketball player.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_01]: All your kids are, you know, collegiate level athletes.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_01]: What was life like when you transitioned from being a pro basketball player into the real world?
- 2:06[SPEAKER_02]: So, I mean, you know, it was extremely difficult.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_02]: First of all, I've been an entrepreneur my whole life in my head, right?
- 2:16[SPEAKER_02]: I've always thought about doing businesses and always looked up and admired business guys.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_02]: Probably even more than I did basketball, right?
- 2:23[SPEAKER_02]: Basketball players growing up in Oxnard, you know, my mother bring me down to LA and I'd see limos
- 2:29[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I got caught up in all that and was like, man, how do they do that, right?
- 2:33[SPEAKER_02]: And it's just always been fascinating to me to see that.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, after playing Los Angeles is brutal, you know, I stopped playing in an air when LA was really fun and people were going out.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_02]: So, you just with, you know, you just kind of got caught up in that lifestyle going out and really didn't know where to, you know, but it's my wagon, right?
- 2:55[SPEAKER_02]: There's just so many different opportunities.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_02]: You really got to try to pick one and stay with it, right?
- 2:59[SPEAKER_02]: So I've never really done anything in movies, which would have been the obvious.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_02]: I remember one time I went to a Nike had a basketball.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_02]: In that era, it was the Michael Jordan era, and it's all these athletes where they were really staying afloat by doing these commercials, like Nike commercials, and all these different commercials.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_02]: And I went to a commercial one time, and I sat there a couple of my buddies that played basketball.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_02]: They said, hey, man, come do this.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_02]: Nike commercial with us.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_02]: They're making money, right?
- 3:24[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, you know what?
- 3:26[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna come check it on.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_02]: I'll never forget.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_02]: So I was sitting in the, they had like these bleachers stands outside and I was sitting there and I never forget I had my shoes off and all my buddies are sitting in their laugh and this little guy comes out and he goes, I'm quiet and I looked at him and I looked at everybody else and I grabbed my shoes and I laughed.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_02]: And I said, right in and there, it was the tone and manner in which he said that to me that I just went, it's not for me.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_02]: So I love movies alone, right?
- 3:55[SPEAKER_02]: So I just felt like Hollywood is a place that you got to, you know, you either got to know somebody.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be really tricky.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_02]: And they treat you, you know, they don't really respect you like I, you know, they do in other circles.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_02]: So when I see that, I said, you know what, movies isn't for me.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_02]: Then I tried my hand in real estate.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_02]: About 1,000 foreclosed homes.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_02]: You could buy them from the bank in a big, big, big, trunch.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_02]: You know, back in the day, do you remember that?
- 4:21[SPEAKER_02]: You know, that was, I bought that in, it was 98, oh, and I was in around this.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_02]: They were, they, they, they, they, they, it's like the mortgage thing at crash or something like that.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_02]: And the banks just had all of these.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_02]: They had all this property.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_02]: And so what we were doing was buying them and then we were retinum and we were going to try to, you know, either renegotiate with a bank and sell them, try that.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_02]: That didn't work, right?
- 4:44[SPEAKER_02]: So I just kept trying my hand in stuff.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_02]: I also was bringing in athletes and having them invest money with other people's deals.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_02]: And I see that didn't work, right?
- 4:53[SPEAKER_02]: So I really had to just,
- 4:55[SPEAKER_02]: Buckle up and figure it out for myself and I had to learn business on the fly right now the greatest student in the world One of those kind of guys that really can you know on the sponge I can sit down and really learn and You know figure things out relatively quickly and that's what I did right so I got and
- 5:13[SPEAKER_02]: Just started getting around people, I'd go to business meetings, and I just sat down.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_02]: I met a gentleman, you know, this is a crazy story, it's probably my craziest things ever happening in my life.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_02]: I met, had a buddy out of Seattle called me one day, and I was with my, you know, fight my man's wife and I stand in a hotel, and he calls me and he says, I gotta get you on the phone with somebody.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_02]: Men's Seattle, I met this guy at a car wash, and, uh,
- 5:37[SPEAKER_02]: He's got a bunch of money, man, and he wants to start a sport.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_02]: He wants to do something sports, right?
- 5:42[SPEAKER_02]: He puts his guy on the phone, and he's out of Seattle.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_02]: And I start talking to this guy, and he goes, you know what, man, I want you to come up here to LA.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_02]: And at that time, what is that work, and I don't think that was a Johnny Cochrane.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_02]: me and Johnny had started a sports agency and I, um, I, uh, so I fly up to Seattle, guys about 32, but 20 years ago.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_02]: He raised about 90, $100 million dollars, right?
- 6:09[SPEAKER_02]: And you could read about.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_02]: It's a company called Zenetics.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_02]: So I fly up there.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_02]: He hires me.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_02]: At that time, I was making $125,000.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_02]: I just started, right?
- 6:19[SPEAKER_02]: It flies me up, likes what he hears, and immediately the next day he moves me into the four seasons in Ando-Hini, puts me in a $1,500 night room, right?
- 6:30[SPEAKER_02]: Wow, bring my family.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_02]: He gives me a $2 million contract, right?
- 6:36[SPEAKER_01]: And then he, I'm this all, and you could read all about it, cause it goes bad, I'll tell you that there right now.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_02]: But he, guy was, he was rolling, right?
- 6:45[SPEAKER_02]: So I was in LA, he was based out of Seattle.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_02]: And he would, you know, I kind of ran his stuff.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_02]: And what he was doing, he was raising money.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_02]: But he bought notalists.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_02]: He remembered notalists, work out equipment, back in the day, notalists was probably still around.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think maybe he bought it.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_02]: and what he was going to do was he was going to do something similar to Equinox, but it was going to be more of a where you would go and there would be doctors in there and Kyra practice.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_02]: So it would be like a workout facility like an equinox, but you also have all these physicians in there that would, you know, they take your blood and the machines would know who you are and it just had all this stuff.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_02]: So anyway, so he hires me, I'm living in the four seasons and I put a bunch of people on his board.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_02]: So I put shack on his board.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_02]: I put Danny Sullivan on his board, who's the number one racetrack ever back in the day.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_02]: Eric Dickerson on his board, by the blue on his board, Muhammad Ali on his board, I've got the senator, Jack Kemp, Jack Kemp on his board, so I blew his board up, right?
- 7:49[SPEAKER_02]: He, you know, he wasn't doing right.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_02]: He wasn't doing right.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_02]: So at about, you know, after about year and a half of just being just hustling and getting his company to the point where I thought I was, you know, I thought it was gonna be a little bit of a tire off that deal.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_02]: I get a call FBI, he got arrested, everything just kind of blew up in my face.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_02]: And that's what I really just said, you know what, you gotta do it yourself.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_02]: just got to do it yourself.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_02]: Just keep, you know, you, you, I literally sat on the, you know,
- 8:20[SPEAKER_02]: edge of my bed and started crying.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_02]: It was like, are you kidding me, right?
- 8:24[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I knew I just had to figure it out for myself.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_02]: And that's what I just started really delving into what people were doing, industries, what industry I liked, or what I thought it was like.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_02]: And I really just, you know, what I really understood was try to find with hot, right?
- 8:38[SPEAKER_02]: And one of those guys that takes every meeting.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I go to all meetings.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_02]: I tell people that all the time I've had things derived from meetings that,
- 8:46[SPEAKER_02]: And I got to meet these people that people don't think you should go to meetings with.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
- 8:51[SPEAKER_02]: Like, you know, an Uber guy, I'll say, you know, I got a cousin.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_01]: He's got this idea and we want to meet.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I'm saying?
- 8:58[SPEAKER_02]: Like, all right, what's up?
- 9:00[SPEAKER_02]: Tell me.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_02]: And listen, eight times out of 10, it's nothing.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_02]: But I've met somebody that's in my roller decks and, you know, I've had some things come from them that I never expected.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_02]: So, and you know, I try to tell people this too and I tell my kids that's all the time.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_02]: You never know who knows who.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_02]: You really don't, man.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_02]: And don't judge a book by the cover.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_02]: I swear, I've had some things happen and seen that.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_02]: You know, and it's true to the reverse, right?
- 9:25[SPEAKER_02]: People can look really, really super rich.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_02]: And be, you know, you know, you live in Newport?
- 9:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
- 9:32[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
- 9:33[SPEAKER_02]: It goes both ways.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_02]: So you just don't know what you're getting regardless.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_02]: You really got to go fill it out and see what's what?
- 9:39[SPEAKER_01]: That's a good point.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_01]: There's a place called the Elk Slodge here in Newport Beach.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_01]: And it's a private only private members only club.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_01]: But to get into the club, it's like 200 bucks a year.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's the cheapest club ever.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_01]: But the members they're all like 60 plus and they're all wearing beach shorts and t-shirts and they're all just a bunch of retired dudes just drinking during the day.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_01]: But the guy who introduced me to it's a nine-year-old guy he's the founder of a company called Chrome Hearts I wear.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_01]: You know, Chrome Hearts, of course.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_01]: So he's like, Joe, if you want to meet people like me, go to Elxlage.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_01]: You walk in there, you're like, dude, this place is dingy and it's a bunch of old people.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_01]: But these guys are all just...
- 10:11[SPEAKER_01]: You know, they're all balling like crazy.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_02]: You're like you never judge, but you look at the course Like a bunch of retirees like you know, of course.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_02]: You know, man.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_02]: I mean listen more times than not the guy that has money That's how we look.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_02]: That's how he looks every time the guy that doesn't have money is dressed to the night I'm just saying you know, I mean this and you could find guys that have money that like the design or stuff But also been more times than that, you know
- 10:37[SPEAKER_01]: They're comfortable.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_02]: They're comfortable.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_02]: They're comfortable.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they are.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_02]: They're comfortable who they are.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_02]: They're comfortable in life.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_02]: They really don't care what you think to be honest with you.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_02]: That's kind of the best place to be, man.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I've got two questions.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_01]: One.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_01]: What happened in that situation?
- 10:50[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it was a, that fraud, but like, what was happening?
- 10:53[SPEAKER_01]: Was you had a pretty stacked board?
- 10:54[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, what was Jack involved with Jack?
- 10:56[SPEAKER_02]: Jack was a Jack got mad at me.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't good between me and Jack for a minute.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_02]: If I call Jack up, I gave him a sword that we paid $12,000 for and they took to sword back and he wouldn't happy with me.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_01]: A sword?
- 11:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was just a gift.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_02]: It was a little small sword like that.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_02]: We had engraved with Jack's name on it and we did some stuff.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_01]: And FBI took things short.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_02]: They called him and he wouldn't happy with me.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_02]: I've seen him about, I don't know, six months after that.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, don't ever put me on a board.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_02]: He goes, yeah.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_02]: But I do his credit.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_02]: I call them and he came to see that he got into the big box.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_02]: I got a video of it.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_02]: That big protobox and he's been cool ever since.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, he wasn't too happy with that.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_02]: He went to jail for 20 years.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's out now.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_02]: You know, the fun master has that.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_02]: But you know what the funny thing about it is, you couldn't catch that if you know him because he didn't drink.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_02]: So like when he came to the four seasons off Dohini, you know, that he sent $250,000 for me every month to spend to recruit and do my business.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_02]: So the four seasons loved him, right?
- 12:01[SPEAKER_02]: So when he'd come, he'd have eight people outside when he'd get out of his car and wait for him and he'd sit and talk to me for hours, but he didn't drink.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't like, you know, he'd be up in the hotel suite and be a bunch of women and he's having a bunch of, he did buy a lot of cars.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_02]: He did, you know what I mean?
- 12:18[SPEAKER_02]: But it wasn't this obvious.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_02]: It's a appropriation about, yeah, it wasn't that.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_02]: Now, I wasn't that at all, wasn't that at all.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_02]: But it just misappropriated.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it was at a point in time in Seattle, where if you lived in Seattle when you missed Amazon, are you missed Microsoft, are you meant, what do you want to do with it?
- 12:35[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's Amazon, Microsoft, and so if you missed those, he, everyone was portraying him as the next best thing.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_02]: So people were, they were sending checks without him pitching.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_02]: They were just sitting in checks to the office because he rented out a billboard in their stadium and Marin or stadium.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_02]: And he was smart, man.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_02]: He's a smart guy.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going to sit here and lie.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_02]: I don't I don't consider people too many people smart, but it was those smart man.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_02]: He was I mean, when I talked to him, I was like,
- 13:02[SPEAKER_02]: Dude's on a different, he's on a different level, but he just they got him and It was sad because I brought in my buddies.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_02]: I was You know, we're uh, we're at the bar toasting as if we're billionaires and actually you know
- 13:17[SPEAKER_02]: BOOM.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_02]: FBI.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_02]: BOOM.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_02]: They called me and they were like, this is Mr. Wallace.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_02]: You got to come up to Seattle and you got to bring, you know, you should probably bring a lawyer and I said, man, I don't have to bring him a lawyer and what day I need to be there.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_02]: Stop all that silly.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_02]: You've been listening to the calls for the last six months.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I have nothing to do with these goofy stuff.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_02]: I flipped it by myself.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_02]: I had a Mercedes.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_02]: They tried to take from me and I'd say the story real quick.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_02]: I negotiate everything, right?
- 13:37[SPEAKER_02]: Some up there and like, you know, Joe, you got to give them Mercedes back.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_02]: You paid cash.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to pay cash when you get out of there.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going to get in that bull car, but I'm not going to get in the car.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_02]: That's his deal.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_02]: You guys deal with him, but me?
- 13:50[SPEAKER_02]: I bought some of my ass for their car.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_02]: I'm telling you, you know what I mean?
- 13:53[SPEAKER_02]: So at the end of the day, you got to keep the car.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_02]: No, but you know what I got.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_02]: Got him the auction that didn't give me half.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_01]: So they sent me a check for $75,000.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody was like, are you kidding me?
- 14:07[SPEAKER_01]: That's a negotiation.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_02]: That's a negotiation.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_02]: They did.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_02]: They sent me a check for $75,000.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_02]: Because they could have just took it, come on, we might have to do it, but it was my car back.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_02]: They already had the car.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_02]: So that was fun.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_02]: It was a unique experience, man.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_01]: So you realized, man, I can't put my life in someone else's hands anymore.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna go out and do this on my own.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_01]: So did you immediately pivot into being a financial entrepreneur like, you know, because now you're in this VC world, right?
- 14:35[SPEAKER_01]: And that's number one, that's a really risky place to beat, right?
- 14:40[SPEAKER_01]: Because you don't know how to underwrite deals when you're brand new to the VC world.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_02]: Well, you gotta learn quick.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you gotta learn quick.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_01]: Otherwise, you're placing your money as a VC or like, you, you know, well, I learned nine times out of ten.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I learned those deals don't go anywhere.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I learned quick by primarily just taking some of my money and, you know, not doing well and just trying, right?
- 15:01[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I'm a firm believer, man, that listen, I'm the guy that is the eternal optimist.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_02]: I love people.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_02]: I want everybody to do well.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_02]: I've got that in me.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_02]: My mother's in steel dead and I've got the greatest mother in the world, lover to death, God bless her.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_02]: And I just, you know, I just really try and find things that are obvious or
- 15:29[SPEAKER_02]: that I see have potential, right?
- 15:31[SPEAKER_02]: And so a lot of my stuff, even in the initial beginnings, I'll be the CEO, but I'll go find the CEO.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not, you got to have an ego, right?
- 15:40[SPEAKER_02]: That it's got to be me, you know, the CEO, who's this, you know, this is my thing.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_02]: This, I'll create stuff all time, put people in it, they know what they're doing, right?
- 15:47[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know of these industries, right?
- 15:49[SPEAKER_02]: I'm about to, I'm like, I am.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_02]: I am owning, there's a company called Wing Riot.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_02]: in wing riot is pointing to be the hottest, it's going to kill, what's that, wing stop.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_02]: It, von Miller, you heard of Van Miller, von Miller's linebacker, he played with Denver, von Miller, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelsey, and Drew Briez.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_02]: So von Miller owns a,
- 16:22[SPEAKER_02]: He owns a chicken ranch, chicken farm in Texas.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_02]: But it's organic chicken farm.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_02]: So it's the best chicken in the world.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_02]: So he started a fast food, wings, wings, and tenders called wing riot, but the concept is this, which is just crazy dope, right?
- 16:44[SPEAKER_02]: He's taken containers, you know, old shipping containers.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_02]: right.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_02]: He's refurbishing him and he's putting in robots right that do all the cooking do everything.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_02]: Only two people work.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_02]: They take the container and they set the container like in a like in a like a home deep-o parking lot.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_02]: If you're seeing those like Dutch brothers coffees, and you guys seeing it, Dutch brothers coffees, but they got the thing out there.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_02]: So there's no inside seating, so it's just drive through, but it's the best fresh organic chicken on the planet.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_01]: No seat oils, kind of like a canes, but better.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_02]: But way better, it's our super organic, and it's the only thing from feed to play, right?
- 17:28[SPEAKER_02]: So they take the chickens, they see it, they distribute it, so you know what you're getting, there's no hormones.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_02]: And right now, the way that people are, you know, ingesting and looking at their food, and for a, you know, health and wellness purposes, I think that it's got a lot of legs to it.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_02]: It's doing extremely well, extremely well.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, you got some major stars in it.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_02]: And they're going to start popping up in stadiums.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_02]: And so I'm going to do about 10 of those, right?
- 17:55[SPEAKER_02]: And they, you know, they net around 400, you know, got two employees.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_01]: And the robots are capable of making humanoid robots doing this.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_02]: Well, these are just mixing the sauces and doing the chicken and doing things you want to do.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_02]: And you just got a cashier or maybe somebody doing a little bit of maintenance.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_02]: So it lowers the obviously your costs, right?
- 18:19[SPEAKER_02]: But and then the chickens phenomenal.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_02]: And then you don't, you got that star power behind it.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_02]: So it's got some legs to it.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, star power is a big deal.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_02]: I'm excited about it.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_02]: You know, you know, you'd have Taylor Swift in there running around, you know, Taylor Swift's on that deal too.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_02]: Well Travis Kelsey, who's her husband.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so of course he's going to get her in there.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you know, we'll get the parlay that a little bit.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_01]: That'll be a cool deal.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you immediately pivoted into these financial sectors.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you know, it's so funny, Joe, you mentioned you're like, I'm an internal optimist and I am too.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_01]: And just like you, I'm the same way.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I always see the good in people.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_01]: And that's sometimes it's works against me because I also am the most scammed guy.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_01]: You know, like, I just get scammed.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_01]: Good time.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just a sucker for getting scammed.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_01]: And I like it.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_02]: kind of like a blessing in disguise yeah like this and I've been scam brother this is you know it is what it is I you know I always look at scamming like this so I always always look at when they do me you know I always say you know I always say there's no amount of money I would want to go that
- 19:23[SPEAKER_02]: would want to end my friendship if I had a friend like Joe, right?
- 19:26[SPEAKER_02]: So why would you want to scam me at a $50,000 or $20,000?
- 19:30[SPEAKER_02]: And whatever that number is, there'd be a $200, right?
- 19:34[SPEAKER_02]: Instead of a long-term relationship, I just never understood that when people done that did that kind of stuff, I just was like such a low amount.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_02]: Like did not scam me for, you know, I'd get a million dollars or something ridiculous, you know, but I just never understood it while other people's mentalities and I tell you
- 19:52[SPEAKER_02]: You know, LA's got a lot of that.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_02]: Got a lot of that.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_02]: Have you lived here your whole life?
- 19:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Orange County.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_01]: I lived in LA when I moved from Egypt initially in San Luis.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_02]: You Egyptian?
- 20:02[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm Egyptian.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_00]: No, okay.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, sorry.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_02]: I do some stuff with it.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_02]: What's the guy's name?
- 20:06[SPEAKER_02]: It's a British man in Egypt.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_01]: Tell a calm guy.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, I don't know what he did his name, but you have me to God.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_01]: I was supposed to um Do you go?
- 20:15[SPEAKER_01]: Do you go back?
- 20:16[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't been since I was 15.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, okay.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_01]: I want to go.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_01]: It's on my bucket list Yeah, I want to go back.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_01]: I just got back from the country of Georgia.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_01]: That's the furthest to Georgia.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's an amazing country.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_01]: Silk Road I went to it to pleasey.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, but I want to get a place in Batumi.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_01]: Are you kidding me?
- 20:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's amazing there.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's an amazing You marry?
- 20:35[SPEAKER_01]: No, no divorce.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_01]: I got four kids with that.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_01]: I got to try.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_01]: I got to be the other thing about where I'm going to go.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_02]: We got a new poor brother.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_02]: You got girlfriend.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_01]: We're Rolex, Goldwood, not Goldwood.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_01]: Go to Jones.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_02]: That's you.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_02]: Not you, you know.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_01]: That's you.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, stay a typical Newport guy.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
- 21:10[SPEAKER_01]: I really stay out splurge.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_01]: There you go.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_01]: But the cars never.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_02]: So what are you getting?
- 21:17[SPEAKER_02]: Are you just, are you building your portfolio as you sell these mortgages?
- 21:20[SPEAKER_02]: I don't ask people that for real estate.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_02]: It's kind of hard.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_02]: You look at all these great deals that you have a real estate person come to you and say, Joe, I got an unbelievable
- 21:28[SPEAKER_00]: deal right here.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_02]: It's a corner.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_02]: We do.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_02]: But I'm like, well, why won't you get it?
- 21:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's all he's saying.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_02]: Like, why would you give it to me?
- 21:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was that he was all the time.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_01]: Like real estate transactions built, you know, I'm looking at a proper, supposed to be there today for a brand new building, San Clementi Ocean view, five million dollar house by the lot, build it up.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, okay.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_02]: I'll flip it.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_01]: So I'll do ground up construction deals with like a developer.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_01]: That way, I'm not like, because if a contractor does it with me, I'm to worry about the contractor like there were not showing up to the job.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_02]: I understood.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_02]: All that stuff.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_02]: We love the pressure.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_01]: So that's what I'm going to start doing a couple of those deals.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_02]: Are you?
- 22:08[SPEAKER_02]: Orange County's hot.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_02]: It's hot.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_02]: So I mean, you, you know, the fine those deals is.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_02]: a gym.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_01]: I get to pose them.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_01]: It's nice to be kind of in the weeds.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, I'm rebuilding my net worth after divorce.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_01]: After divorce, you're basically, you go from 100% you're down to 25% of your net worth.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_01]: There you go.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_01]: My goal is to get back to that 100% initially this year.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_02]: I love the comeback, brother.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_02]: And then I'm doing it.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_02]: I'm doing it.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_01]: So it was just my own personal goal, just like, hey, post divorce.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to get back to my pre-divores.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_02]: And then, you know, I've been down a bunch of times, right, and that's honestly, you know, and I tell my son just kind of when he plays basketball, I say listen, I'm not coming out here to watch you score 30 points.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_02]: I'm actually coming out here to watch you make 20 mistakes, right?
- 23:00[SPEAKER_02]: Because if you're making mistakes, you're trying, right?
- 23:05[SPEAKER_02]: So don't think that I'm coming in here and you gotta have this perfect game or you gotta do all this stuff to impress me what I wanna see is just aggression, right?
- 23:13[SPEAKER_02]: And you trying to do the things that you're supposed to do to get better.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_02]: Then we can have discussions on how you need to be playing once we do past that point, right?
- 23:22[SPEAKER_02]: So, yeah, man, I'm, you know, I wish I had gotten in the real estate.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_02]: I tried that one particular time and just,
- 23:30[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I got ADHD, so I just can't real estate moves like a snail.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_02]: It's just three ordeal.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_02]: It just moves like a snail.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_01]: For me, it's a nice, you know, I like to have a thirsty, yeah, it's like, I have this piece of property.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, you know.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_01]: I'm teaching my kids entrepreneurship lately through sports cards, so that moves really quick.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_01]: There you go.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_01]: There you go.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_01]: Sports cards were buying flip and training.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_01]: There you go.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_01]: The grading process also moves like a snail now.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_01]: It's funny to see my kids moving big money cards.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_02]: There you go.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_02]: That's the same thing.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_02]: I got to start somewhere.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_01]: What's the same?
- 24:09[SPEAKER_01]: There's multi-millionaires buildingers moving cards now.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_02]: 100% a lot of people do that, it's fun, I mean, it's fun, you know, I've never, I crypto my son, you know, he's big and crypto, he makes some decent money and crypto, I mean, it's good money for his age too, but he's
- 24:27[SPEAKER_02]: 16 the 16 year old I've got he's Joe Joe's 26 he went to he's down in San Francisco now he's got a new job, but I remember free came up to me smart kid man, you know, six four really good luck and just
- 24:41[SPEAKER_02]: Matt got a math degree.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_02]: He came up to me when we were at the house one day.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_02]: It's probably about 10 years ago and he goes dead.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_02]: You know what?
- 24:49[SPEAKER_02]: Just take a look at just this coin bit coin, right?
- 24:53[SPEAKER_01]: I'll never forget, because it haunts me to this day.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_01]: He tells you about Bitcoin.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he tells you about Bitcoin.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_02]: He goes, he goes, you know what I had to outsmart him.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_02]: You know, listening to Sun, Sun, Sun, listen.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_02]: You're talking about a decentralized coin that doesn't have any backing by any government or gold or silver in.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_02]: How could that, it's impossible.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_02]: Like I literally looked at them and said, it's impossible, Sun, that that could be successful.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_02]: How?
- 25:20[SPEAKER_02]: What's it backed by?
- 25:21[SPEAKER_02]: What if it just goes, Poof?
- 25:23[SPEAKER_02]: I just couldn't get my arms around it, right?
- 25:26[SPEAKER_02]: But that's logic.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_02]: It is logic, it's impossible for that to be a coin or a tender that people use around the world and you can't track it and you can't, how do you, I was just like, well, what if somebody prints more?
- 25:42[SPEAKER_02]: Or just makes more on a commander?
- 25:44[SPEAKER_00]: So anyway, obviously you know it turned into what he's doing now and he's been doing great at it But you know you missed those kind of things.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_02]: I missed out on a couple really good ones that I just I wish I could I could take that You know But it's been a fun ride man.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_02]: I love it.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_02]: I still take all kinds of deals.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_02]: I'm doing some stuff today that I you know I'm getting a credit repair I'm getting into CRMs and you know I'm doing all kind of stuff and you know all AI based
- 26:12[SPEAKER_01]: All AI-based credit repair here.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to do AI-based credit repair.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_02]: I'm doing a galaxy, which is a marketplace, which is going to, you know, it's going to replace like a Shopify and an Amazon, so it's a completely AI autonomous marketplace.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_02]: that allows creators and influencers to create their own story without any inventory.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_02]: So I've got 30 vendors that I've signed up so you come and you can create your own shop.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_02]: Let's say you want to sell peptides, or you want to sell pet food, or you want to sell hoodies, or you want to sell bikinis, or whatever.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_02]: I've got 18,000 vendors.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_02]: You come on there.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_02]: You don't need any inventory.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_02]: You pay $500.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_02]: We take 10%.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_02]: You pick your vendors.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_02]: You upload your logo, everything's 3PO through all of the vendors.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_02]: So you don't touch anything.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_02]: You don't do anything.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_02]: And they ship your products.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_01]: Now I print a file.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_01]: Shop of art.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it's white label, but see that, that's why I did it, because when I was with Vonduch, I wanted to do bespoke products, right?
- 27:13[SPEAKER_02]: And it was fractured, right?
- 27:14[SPEAKER_02]: So there was, you had to get the hats here, the leggings here, and the jeans here.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_02]: And then what I realized was that, you know, everybody's all over the map, even Amazon and Shopify, because they, you know, they didn't,
- 27:31[SPEAKER_02]: when I filed my patents, they were really for, they were really designed to be a reseller model, right?
- 27:38[SPEAKER_02]: So, Amazon and Shopify are for like, you to go off and get something from Alibaba.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_02]: Right?
- 27:45[SPEAKER_02]: You find a little gold ducky, just 32 cent.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_02]: You put it on your Amazon shop for $3.99, you know, people were making money doing that.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_02]: And but there was,
- 27:58[SPEAKER_02]: where the world is going now is everyone's becoming their own brand.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_02]: You even see brands now doing products designed after influencers, right?
- 28:07[SPEAKER_02]: Like Alex Earl and all these people, they're going to be the brands of the future.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_02]: That's why everything is personal brand.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_02]: Everything is personal brand.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_02]: So what I did was that I seen that coming down the pie, because I went and I spent about three months and I filed a patent with Delay Piper.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_02]: Now, it doesn't protect me a whole lot of fully, but it gives me a leg up.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_02]: And now I'm building out the tech to make, to make Galaxie a, you know, um, I want to be the TikTok of TikTok of like home, like a online shopping, right?
- 28:40[SPEAKER_02]: There's no cool online shopping.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_02]: You go on Amazon and you go on Shopify right now.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_02]: You see a bottle lotion, which is the number on it, right?
- 28:46[SPEAKER_02]: There's just no vibe to it.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_02]: There's no, you know, you just, you just, like, you don't have any pride, right?
- 28:52[SPEAKER_02]: If I walked around and I said, you know, check out my Amazon store.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_00]: And I go to your Amazon store, it's just gonna be some just nothing, right?
- 29:01[SPEAKER_02]: ours is gonna be like more of a cool hip version, you know, Galaxy's gonna have influence or houses will be a Coachella will be, you know, we're gonna be the place where people that have a vibe and are cool want to have their probably only do bombs, you want to sell this, you want to say where you're selling really cool dope stuff.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_02]: Right, where you've got Paris Hilton has a store on there with Lady Gaga and Alex Erill and all these other influences as people are going to have their products, not pushing someone else's products, but selling their products, right?
- 29:29[SPEAKER_02]: So you create your own brand and the reason you do that is because if you're selling on Amazon, right, let's say you're selling on Amazon, you're doing $3 million a year on Amazon, right?
- 29:38[SPEAKER_02]: But guess what?
- 29:40[SPEAKER_02]: That's not your brand.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_02]: You're doing $3 million on us for the last two years.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_02]: You've done $12 million.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_02]: All of that data goes with you.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_02]: Now you can sell it.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_02]: You can sell your business.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_02]: You can't do that on any of these others.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_02]: You can't build it in selling.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_02]: You can sell your business.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_02]: You can come out of Galaxy and be like, made it out of here, right?
- 29:59[SPEAKER_02]: Somebody purchase your brand because it's your brand.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_02]: And that's where we're, you know, I think that's where Ecommerce is heading.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's where everyone is heading as far as trying to get a new job.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's probably gonna cost me $60 to drive up here today.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
- 30:16[SPEAKER_02]: And if you had an EV?
- 30:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I always did.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_02]: I was where I'm gonna get a test in my business partner.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_02]: It's a girl.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_02]: She's got a Tesla.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, what's your spin right now?
- 30:28[SPEAKER_02]: Do that?
- 30:28[SPEAKER_02]: She's like $22.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_02]: Is it what?
- 30:32[SPEAKER_01]: I spend nothing on filling up three cars every week.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_01]: You know, because I got solar.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_02]: If you can catch a trend or you can see where the world is going and you get in their first, that's how you become a disruptor and you make so real learning.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_02]: You're raising a lot of money for a lot of products.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_01]: What project are you the most excited about right now?
- 30:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, let's see.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_02]: But I think the CRM and the credit repair, they're both really cool.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_02]: And I just kind of feel it.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_01]: There's so many CRMs now.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_01]: Like, how's it going to compete with the CRM for me?
- 31:10[SPEAKER_02]: Let me tell you how.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_02]: So ours is fully, and it's already developed, by the way.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_02]: It's fully AI automated.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_02]: it has a webinar function in it.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_02]: It has a built in the LinkedIn so we can actually make you money.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_01]: It'll go out and send out.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yep, request.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_02]: Everything.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_02]: Not just request.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_02]: No, it's going to communicate.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to reach out to you because I built it for an insurance MLM.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_02]: OK, so it's going to reach out to you and say, hey, Joe, how you doing?
- 31:41[SPEAKER_02]: My name is Joe Wallace, and I'm, you know, think you're profile, whatever.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_02]: You know, they're goofy stuff you get.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but there's a lot of these big social platforms are very hip to AI doing that, and they block it.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_01]: That is the way to get around it.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_01]: There's ways to get around it.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_01]: We haven't had any of ours blocked.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_02]: No, I get stuff every day, all day on LinkedIn, and I'm about to get all kind of stuff on LinkedIn.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_02]: Mind your inbox every day?
- 32:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of, a lot of them every day.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_02]: Every day.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_02]: And then kidding, they can't stop that.
- 32:08[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, because eventually you're going to be sending out stuff via AI regardless, even if it's not spam.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to have AI dictating all my stuff.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_02]: Why would I want to sit there?
- 32:17[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to talk into a microphone and have AI knows how I speak.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, one of the things that I put inside my CRM is a, and you need to check this out.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_02]: If you do stuff with AI, it's a company called Million Ways.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_02]: So Million Ways is a behavioral AI.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_02]: They've taken over 10 years to learn and through a bunch of subjects and people data that their AI talks to you in a manner in a way which it knows you and I know people think that AI does and it does it but this one knows you because it's obviously it's empathetic has empathy.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_02]: It'll reach out to you and you definitely need to talk to them because you're doing mortgages.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_02]: And if you want to send me an email, be your AI that AI remembers our conversation.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_02]: Right?
- 33:09[SPEAKER_02]: And then it responds to me after analyzing how me and you have been speaking through our emails.
- 33:17[SPEAKER_02]: Right?
- 33:18[SPEAKER_02]: So if you've been angry with me or I've been angry with you or I'm indecisive, it analyzes all of that.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_02]: And then it comes back to me and says, hey Joe, this is Joe, I hope everything's doing well.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_02]: It talks to me in a matter of which I'm gonna appreciate it because it knows my behavioral pattern.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_02]: And that's different, right?
- 33:39[SPEAKER_02]: So I put that in my CRM too.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_02]: Right, so as you're trying to recruit and you're trying to do insurance and this stuff that these guys are trying to sell, the communication is key and you can't just have a, you know, regular AI that's communicating.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_02]: You need to have something that touches on people's emotions when you're trying to get people to spend money.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_02]: And it's something you should take a look at too, because it's a great self.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, I took that baseline of a CRM, which is fully, AI automated, AI receptionist, does everything for you, he bells all that stuff.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_02]: And then I added in the webinar component, which there's very two CRMs that have that, I think, only one, I think it was Hub.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_02]: That's hot.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_02]: And then I added in the behavioral, the behavioral,
- 34:28[SPEAKER_02]: AI, right?
- 34:29[SPEAKER_02]: So it made it different than I added in, the LinkedIn.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_02]: So now you have a CRM that can make you money, speak to your people with a behavioral AI, that no one else on the planet has.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_02]: And it's fully AI automated.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not trying to be a billionaire off of the CRM.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I just, I got into it accidentally because the guy I know from him, I went to Napa Valley last week, and in the guy has, you know, he's got a 60,000.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_02]: So brand new project in the last week?
- 34:54[SPEAKER_02]: Brand, taking me three weeks to put this together.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_02]: I'm fast, but yeah, so I get up early.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_02]: Get a birdie to get to work, baby.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, I did it.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to call, call, I can hear right now.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_02]: I'll call my girl right now.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_02]: That works for me in Natasha and she'll, you can hear where we're at, whether you've got to hear it.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_02]: And to come super excited about this, I'm launching it on Tuesday.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_02]: And I named it Deal Like You.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm really quick, right?
- 35:17[SPEAKER_02]: So I named it Deal Like You downline intelligence.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_02]: right.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_02]: I added in all of those different features.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_02]: And now I'm just going to run some stuff on TikTok that they're going to move over.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_02]: My guy is going to move over for a thousand salespeople because he's at MLM at $199 a month.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_02]: Joe.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_01]: No, that's great money.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's the stuff that's with you that you can do on the actual software that
- 35:49[SPEAKER_02]: then I got all of these different add-ons and put them in there.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_02]: I am developing something similar now, that's gonna be native.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_01]: It's just API, everything in it.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_02]: API, API, and that's another thing that I'm learning to do right now is I look at all these fractional industries.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_02]: And I go, why hasn't, when I was looking for a CM, I'm just like, well, I don't understand.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you could do all that through Salesforce, just API everything in and Salesforce.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_02]: Salesforce is doing, this is another thing where people make a misconception.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_02]: Salesforce is doing, I don't know, 30 billion or 20 billion dollars, right?
- 36:21[SPEAKER_02]: Created in the area, I make 20 million a year.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_02]: But I don't need the hit, I don't care about Salesforce.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_02]: There's some people out there that want mine.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_02]: Marcus Tran.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_02]: No, there's some people out there that want mine.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not trying to, I don't need, I don't need, go ahead, Salesforce.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just, I'm just trying to get from.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_02]: Calabassus, to Paris.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
- 36:43[SPEAKER_02]: Just have a good time.
- 36:43[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not trying to buy big mansions off it, but it took me two weeks, just took me two weeks.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_02]: Caldos likes this.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_02]: I had no time out.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_02]: Now, I did have the call and negotiate pricing and all this other stuff.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't just, you know, I had to do some work.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't just, you know, I got to,
- 37:02[SPEAKER_02]: platform and just started that and say, if you had to get the head to get the guy had to negotiate it down and get them all down and have them believe that I'm going to have a volume of numbers and you know, so it wasn't just as simple as I make it seem, but the moral of the story is I try.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_01]: That's the moral of the story and I tell everybody whoever's listening and I keep trying, man.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_02]: And listen, I'll have a lot of failures and I have no problem with that because, you know, I don't know what's going to fail and what isn't, but I do know that everything I don't do is going to fail.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_01]: So do you think that your sports history allowed you to have that mindset where like failures just part of the journey?
- 37:39[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_01]: Because entrepreneurship is a lot like being a
- 37:47[SPEAKER_02]: You know, my daughter is horrified a failure.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I can't really get my son to be too entrepreneurial.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't want to.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_02]: I got a brother that sells insurance.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_02]: He, uh, never wanted to own his own insurance company.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_02]: I was saying, you know, you got me as your brother.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_02]: And you don't want to just, I don't mean you forming.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_02]: And I just have always been of the mindset that you don't want to work for nobody.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that, and you could do whatever you set your mind to do.
- 38:11[SPEAKER_02]: I've never looked at another man's success and said, damn, he just is.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_02]: Just outsmart, that's what he put in the work.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_02]: He took the chance, he had many people you'll meet when you ask him, always ask people, how did you get started?
- 38:25[SPEAKER_02]: How did you get started?
- 38:26[SPEAKER_02]: What made you start?
- 38:27[SPEAKER_02]: There's always something.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
- 38:30[SPEAKER_02]: Well, my buddy called me and he took me to Tahoe, and I
- 38:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I get that question every day.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_01]: How'd you get started?
- 38:40[SPEAKER_01]: How'd you get started?
- 38:41[SPEAKER_02]: And there's always, there's always a thing, but here's nothing crazy.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_01]: No one ever saw a crazy story like, oh, you know, no, no.
- 38:49[SPEAKER_02]: But you gotta be open and get started.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_01]: And that's zero to one is the hardest never to get to.
- 38:55[SPEAKER_01]: It is.
- 38:56[SPEAKER_01]: It's the hardest, but you gotta give it a shot.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_02]: You know, listen, I don't.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going to sit here in an act like I'm some big guy that just got the touch of gold.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_02]: I don't have that, but what I do have is effort and I try and I've had some really good ones and I've had some really bad ones, but at the end of the day, I'm happy with myself because I give it an effort.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if this CRM is going to do anything.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_02]: I do know that I'm going to try and I do know that it has a chance.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_01]: And you know this, that it makes sense.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_01]: for the current climate.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_01]: That's exactly it.
- 39:31[SPEAKER_02]: It makes sense.
- 39:32[SPEAKER_02]: It's affordable.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_02]: I've already got users that are going to be on it.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_02]: So I'll make some money regardless, whether it is.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_01]: And now it's just adoption.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_01]: How it is.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_01]: It is.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_02]: And marketing.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_02]: And just marketing.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_02]: Everything is marketing, Joe.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_02]: So I just, I don't know.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_02]: I just feel like, I mean, listen, when I got that job and I lived at the four seasons, I didn't know shack at that time.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't know any of those.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't know about them at all.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I don't know anything about checking wings right now.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know anything about that.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_02]: And people always think that they have to be comfortable and know something in a space to do it.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_02]: And I think the opposite, I just like listen, man.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_02]: You know, you know, Joe, do you know anything though, I ask me, do you know anything about, Tom?
- 40:11[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know anything about that.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_01]: But you know, I'll find the metals of business.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_02]: I'll figure it out.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean, Joe?
- 40:19[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I'll drive up to, I'll drive up to Newport Beach and take you over to the Pindry.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_01]: Second time I heard the PNG today and we're drinking drinks and you know what the power of Doing that right you know taking someone out and and giving getting them a cocktail for 15 bucks right you'll get
- 40:44[SPEAKER_01]: 100 million dollars.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_02]: 100 percent.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I do it all the time.
- 40:47[SPEAKER_01]: People don't understand the power of networking and one thing about you and myself, Joe, and maybe because we're both Joe and just God's hands upon us.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_01]: It's like we're just good networkers.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_01]: 100 percent.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the value.
- 40:59[SPEAKER_01]: Your net worth is your network.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_01]: It is.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_02]: I had a conversation with magic, Johnson.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_02]: These are true stories.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_02]: I don't this so you know what I say, tell you stuff.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_02]: I don't I don't boost it up to make it some great story.
- 41:10[SPEAKER_02]: This is just how it goes.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_02]: So I've no magic for about 30 years.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_02]: I've played on his team with him, but he's also at Equinox.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_02]: And he's there at about 5 a.m. like I am that every day, but when he's there, he's there, right?
- 41:20[SPEAKER_02]: So I see him, I see him around around about three weeks ago.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, about three weeks ago, and I was talking to him.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_02]: Because the one thing I talked to him about, that me and him were kind of similar, is his personality allows him is what has made him successful.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 41:35[SPEAKER_02]: We talked about that and there's a big disparity between the relationship between magic and Korean.
- 41:41[SPEAKER_02]: If you look at their two careers and business paths and light paths, it's a thousand percent due to personality.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_02]: So magic is the kind of guy that carries magazine.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, and you could, but, but approachable.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_01]: Shack is the same way.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_02]: Korean is, he lives right by me.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_02]: He's horrible.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_02]: He's horrible.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_02]: He's horrible.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm
- 42:05[SPEAKER_02]: And so what me and magic were talking about magic, I was telling, I was saying that magic is like, man, you know, you're just, you know, you're killing it and I just said, and I told them, I said, man, you know, you're, you know, you're gift, right?
- 42:16[SPEAKER_02]: I just said, you know, you're gift is that you let, you, you're approach when you told me a story goes, Joe, we're playing at the forum, and I walk out, and you remember, I don't know if you're in the fourth, so the format of club in it, it was like a,
- 42:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I saw it in the TV show, the remake on HBO.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_02]: There you go.
- 42:34[SPEAKER_02]: So you had to go, that's where everybody would go, right?
- 42:38[SPEAKER_01]: So the players would go there, I'd like the girls in there, and everybody's in there doing Jack Nicholson's in there, and everybody's in there, right?
- 42:43[SPEAKER_02]: So this guy had his son there, and I guess Karim came out and they were crazy about Karim, the son was crazy about him.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_02]: Ten-year-old boy, he's crazy about Karim, right?
- 42:50[SPEAKER_02]: And he's like, goes up to Karim and he's just like, yeah.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_00]: Can I get a picture?
- 42:57[SPEAKER_02]: Nah, so magic's walking up.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_02]: So magic goes, I'll take a picture, right?
- 43:03[SPEAKER_02]: So magic takes a picture with the son and the father.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_02]: And magic said he was buying a building downtown.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_02]: And he comes to the building early and he's sitting there and he's just sitting there.
- 43:14[SPEAKER_02]: He said, he said, Joe, I was just sitting in the conference room and his man walked in and man goes, oh, it's you!
- 43:21[SPEAKER_02]: Right?
- 43:21[SPEAKER_02]: And I just said, I looked at him and he says, what's up?
- 43:24[SPEAKER_02]: He's the owner of the building, right?
- 43:26[SPEAKER_02]: And he said, the man looked at him and said, you got it!
- 43:28[SPEAKER_02]: Chores!
- 43:29[SPEAKER_00]: I just was like, we didn't even talk to you!
- 43:32[SPEAKER_00]: You don't say it?
- 43:33[SPEAKER_02]: And the man says, when my son was 10,
- 43:38[SPEAKER_02]: He asked Kering for a picture and you took a picture and he's one of the biggest attorneys in LA and that picture is it is off this.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, that's why I tell people to treat people with respect.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_02]: You know, not that magic would have died if you didn't get the building, but that's another prime example of how it comes back around.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_02]: Now, Kering is dying.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_02]: You don't hear anything about it.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_02]: He's isolated, right?
- 44:07[SPEAKER_02]: And it's all because of his personality.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_02]: I went on to trip with magic and Korean to the Philippines to play basketball.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_02]: And I'll never forget.
- 44:14[SPEAKER_02]: I was in line.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_02]: And Korean was in front of me.
- 44:18[SPEAKER_02]: And I remember these two businessmen came up to Korean.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I just got done playing overseas.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm just got my little thing.
- 44:26[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm trying to get some food.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_02]: I'm magic's there in Korean.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_02]: Mark, choir, and all these people.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_02]: when they asked him for an autograph.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_02]: The way he looked at them and the what he said to them and the disdain he said it didn't.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_02]: And the way that they felt defeated, I said, God dang, that was brutal.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_00]: You see, I'm trying to get some fucking food.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_02]: I said, God, I'm praying man.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_02]: Two dudes, suits on, just looked at him, looked at each other and I just was like,
- 45:01[SPEAKER_02]: Why?
- 45:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_02]: I just was like, God, you couldn't even set it just politely?
- 45:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they just did great on me anyway.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_02]: You know, and it's just a reflection about the opportunity, magic's the guy that, you know, you lose the Boston Celtics, you'll see him in fat burger.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_02]: Buy his cell.
- 45:19[SPEAKER_02]: You know, in the corner, eat in the fat burger.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_01]: Man, it's always doing autographs.
- 45:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, of course.
- 45:24[SPEAKER_01]: Here's the sweetest guy I met in a couple of times.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_01]: This is a nice thing.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_01]: Boy, man.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_02]: Floyd Mayweather walks around with six body guards for no reason.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_00]: Magic Senator, Jim, by itself.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_00]: You didn't know anybody with him.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_02]: It's working out, not put, you know what I mean?
- 45:38[SPEAKER_02]: So it's just personality is such a key fact.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_02]: Floyd lost all his money.
- 45:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you think anyone's gonna come to help him?
- 45:45[SPEAKER_01]: No, not a person.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_01]: Why?
- 45:48[SPEAKER_01]: personality.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_01]: He's still the now he's got to do all these exhibitions just nobody's watched that garbage.
- 45:54[SPEAKER_02]: Nobody's gonna watch that garbage.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody's gonna watch that garbage.
- 45:57[SPEAKER_02]: Nobody's gonna help him put more money in his pocket.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_02]: He was lighting cigars with $100 bills.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_02]: African American community is suffering beyond suffering and that's what he would do.
- 46:08[SPEAKER_02]: I can't stand, I can't stand, I don't get back.
- 46:11[SPEAKER_02]: I can't.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_02]: Flot your wealth like that on planes like $100 cigars.
- 46:17[SPEAKER_02]: God's watching, bro.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_02]: He's watching, and that's a reflection of the universe.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_02]: The universe has a way, bro.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_02]: You want to fly money like that.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_02]: First of all, I don't know if anyone has ever flown at money like that.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if anymore.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_02]: That's ever just been blatantly million dollars sitting
- 46:43[SPEAKER_02]: And all of those guys that do that, they end up having big problems for some reason.
- 46:46[SPEAKER_02]: Universe doesn't like it.
- 46:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it does, it's not blessed.
- 46:51[SPEAKER_02]: No, it's not, it's not blessed.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_02]: And you want to stay blessed, man.
- 46:55[SPEAKER_02]: And you want to help people and tell people all the day, man.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_02]: That's little stupid game we play in life.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_02]: If you really look at life, man, you're born in your dibro.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_02]: And what you do in between is all up to you.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_02]: And how you want to live this.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_02]: But you ain't doing anything with your life, just being normal and selfish and doing stuff that,
- 47:16[SPEAKER_02]: can give you anything good when you pass.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I'm saying?
- 47:20[SPEAKER_02]: And I just really, truly believe that.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_02]: I just, like, you know, we all get one shot at this thing and how do you live it?
- 47:26[SPEAKER_02]: I love my life.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_02]: I just, you know what, do good in the bad times, bro.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_02]: I try to wake up every day the same, you know, the same personality, the same upbeat, no matter how things are.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I just, I try to help people as much as I can.
- 47:42[SPEAKER_02]: I'm the guy that if you ever need anything, you know, nothing.
- 47:45[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, Joe, you want me to introduce you to a Dan Gilbert, you know, but I want 5% of whatever you do, right?
- 47:53[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not that guy either.
- 47:54[SPEAKER_02]: So I just, you know, I try to help people, man.
- 47:56[SPEAKER_02]: I try to do, and I've been blessed, man.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_02]: I've had, you know, I have my shares of ups and downs.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_02]: But, you know, I can look back on my life and at least just say, you know, I gave it a good shot, right?
- 48:06[SPEAKER_02]: And that's really what everybody can do.
- 48:07[SPEAKER_02]: And I try to tell people all the time and even tell my kids traveling to me as the key life.
- 48:12[SPEAKER_02]: It really is just the one thing that if there's anything you do, anything outside of had kids.
- 48:19[SPEAKER_02]: It's got to have kids.
- 48:20[SPEAKER_02]: It's traveling, man.
- 48:21[SPEAKER_02]: Seeing the world, bro.
- 48:23[SPEAKER_02]: And nothing more magical than that.
- 48:26[SPEAKER_01]: So much to do to that.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_01]: When I went to Europe, I was like, what am I doing?
- 48:29[SPEAKER_01]: Why was I stuck in Newport Beach so long?
- 48:31[SPEAKER_01]: I got to get out.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_02]: For what?
- 48:34[SPEAKER_02]: You've seen Newport Beach, right?
- 48:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I love Newport Beach.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_01]: So what you're going to do?
- 48:36[SPEAKER_02]: You want to keep saying it?
- 48:38[SPEAKER_01]: See forever.
- 48:40[SPEAKER_01]: But it also, it's like you're locked in, working work.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_01]: It's just some part of your routine.
- 48:43[SPEAKER_02]: To mistake.
- 48:43[SPEAKER_02]: It's a mistake.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_02]: It's a mistake, bro.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_02]: I listen.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_02]: That's when I tell you you're going to Newport.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_02]: It's when I can't travel.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_02]: And I just go to a staycation.
- 48:51[SPEAKER_02]: I do it.
- 48:51[SPEAKER_02]: I just go to a staycation.
- 48:52[SPEAKER_02]: I'll go check in for two days and just go and see and meet and do.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 48:57[SPEAKER_02]: And when I go out, go to the pantry, go to Joey's.
- 49:00[SPEAKER_02]: What's the new stayhouse?
- 49:02[SPEAKER_02]: The place right across from red?
- 49:03[SPEAKER_02]: Red?
- 49:03[SPEAKER_02]: No, it's from red.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, it's right across from red.
- 49:07[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
- 49:18[SPEAKER_01]: That's the best place.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_02]: I sit at the bar.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_02]: I don't see a lot of everybody for some people that, you know, let's get a tip.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to sit with you every day and try to meet some people, you know, you know, I'm just going to sit across from you again.
- 49:28[SPEAKER_02]: Hi, how's it today?
- 49:30[SPEAKER_02]: I know you did, it's going to be what you asked all day.
- 49:33[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want it, okay, I want it's a new day, I want a new day.
- 49:37[SPEAKER_02]: So no, I gotta, you know what I'm trying to, I said at the bar and I try to meet people and do my thing and learn and just, you know, I've had a lot, you know, I've lived this, I lived in Turkey.
- 49:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I've lived in Paris.
- 49:49[SPEAKER_02]: I've lived in Argentina.
- 49:51[SPEAKER_02]: I've lived in Japan, and I've lived in Spain.
- 49:54[SPEAKER_02]: And I lived in Turkey, I'm saying one old story, I lived in Turkey, it's right, after the little Clipper Stent, got a job in Turkey.
- 50:03[SPEAKER_02]: I love dogs, I'm a dog guy, I have a little pitbull and college named Kleco, so I take him, take him to Turkey, Turkey like I take, who is this idiot, you bring a dog, right?
- 50:15[SPEAKER_02]: That is my contract, so I'm not going anywhere without my dog.
- 50:19[SPEAKER_02]: So don't call me without my dog, I gotta go with my dog, so I take my dog.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_02]: And nobody tells me in Turkey, right, they've got packs of dogs.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_02]: that were on the street at night.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_02]: Packs, hacks, hacks, hacks.
- 50:31[SPEAKER_02]: Right?
- 50:32[SPEAKER_02]: But I got a pit bull, so I'm kind of cool, right?
- 50:36[SPEAKER_02]: Not that I want my dog fight and he's never fought, but he, you know, he will, he'll get out.
- 50:40[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I take the guy, he got beat up on time I'll tell you this story, but he was, he was a baby, he went, got revenge three years later.
- 50:45[SPEAKER_02]: He was hilarious.
- 50:46[SPEAKER_02]: So, I'm in Turkey.
- 50:49[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm walking my dog at night, and I'm seeing these packs of dogs, and you're not got them on thing and they're just, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do,
- 51:20[SPEAKER_02]: Like, are you all right?
- 51:22[SPEAKER_02]: Like what's that?
- 51:23[SPEAKER_02]: And he starts moving like this.
- 51:25[SPEAKER_02]: Can't walk.
- 51:27[SPEAKER_02]: So I grabbed him.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_02]: I said, oh God.
- 51:30[SPEAKER_02]: I grabbed he starts foaming at the mouth.
- 51:32[SPEAKER_02]: So I put him in my car.
- 51:34[SPEAKER_02]: He's leaning up against the wind.
- 51:35[SPEAKER_02]: I never forget.
- 51:35[SPEAKER_02]: It was very traumatic for me.
- 51:37[SPEAKER_02]: And he's foaming at the mouth.
- 51:40[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't speak Turkish.
- 51:42[SPEAKER_02]: So it's a stick shift.
- 51:45[SPEAKER_02]: They don't have any stop signs in Turkey.
- 51:48[SPEAKER_02]: So I backed the car up, my dog's dying, and I'm going to these Turkish dudes as I'm going down the street and I'm running, I'm going to stop, but I see somebody in the bus.
- 51:58[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, like, you don't.
- 52:01[SPEAKER_02]: Come on, man, where, where, where, you know, he, hmm, two, and, you know, he was doing that old thing, get to another guy, hmm, one more, no, you know, to the right, because they've seen him, and that kind of news.
- 52:15[SPEAKER_02]: So what happens in Turkey is, they poison me, and they throw it out there in the street to kill the dogs.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, you could've told me that, man.
- 52:26[SPEAKER_02]: And they throw it out, and so make a long story short, I get them into the vet.
- 52:32[SPEAKER_02]: and they're giving a shot.
- 52:35[SPEAKER_02]: And I can't communicate with the vet, but he's going through a nist thing, and I don't know what my dog still looks bad.
- 52:42[SPEAKER_02]: So I put him in a room just closed the door, I said, I can't stick, I'm not gonna watch him die.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_00]: And I opened it door in the morning, he was back to hell.
- 52:48[SPEAKER_02]: You know, tails wagging, and I just started crying like a baby, I was like, dear, just got out of the left turkey.
- 52:54[SPEAKER_02]: I would left, I was gonna like, you know, I'm out of here.
- 52:56[SPEAKER_02]: You know, my dog, you guys killed my dog, I'm out of here.
- 52:59[SPEAKER_02]: But just all of those experiences came from traveling, you know what I mean?
- 53:07[SPEAKER_02]: Like Paris was a blast, Japan was a blast, I just so many different, and I tell my kids all the time, this...
- 53:15[SPEAKER_02]: When I lay down for the last time and I go through my memory banks, it's going to be some great memories that I have that I've gotten from just being out and meeting and doing and meeting people, right, that you just can't do unless you're out there doing it.
- 53:30[SPEAKER_02]: I have my son has a friend.
- 53:34[SPEAKER_02]: He's from Lawrence County.
- 53:36[SPEAKER_02]: He was his roommate in college, so he never never knew the guy.
- 53:39[SPEAKER_02]: This guy lives the life and I'll tell you this real quick.
- 53:42[SPEAKER_02]: He, uh,
- 53:45[SPEAKER_02]: His grandmother died, no, his mother committed suicide, right before he went to UCLA.
- 53:51[SPEAKER_02]: Didn't have a relationship with his father.
- 53:55[SPEAKER_02]: Just a bad situation, nice kid, nice kid, but one of those kind of guy, you know.
- 54:03[SPEAKER_02]: Just really, you know, the really cool white guys, there's just really just no, just had no, not presumptuous, didn't care who you were.
- 54:12[SPEAKER_02]: Just one of those pre-lovings, just a good dude, right?
- 54:16[SPEAKER_02]: His whole motto in life, for now, is all he does is travel.
- 54:20[SPEAKER_02]: You look on his Instagram, he'll be writing a bike in Nairobi, he'll be on the side of a place in Mexico
- 54:33[SPEAKER_02]: fresh taco.
- 54:35[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, his life experiences.
- 54:38[SPEAKER_02]: I remember he came over to our house.
- 54:40[SPEAKER_02]: You know, we got at our house and I never forget about his girlfriend.
- 54:44[SPEAKER_02]: And he's just one of those guys that has zero care about material things.
- 54:47[SPEAKER_02]: And I love that about people that are like that.
- 54:50[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not, but I wish I was.
- 54:51[SPEAKER_02]: And I admire the hell out of them.
- 54:53[SPEAKER_02]: And I'll never forget about what you guys going.
- 54:55[SPEAKER_02]: And he goes, yeah, Mr. Wallace, we're going to go up to Utah.
- 55:01[SPEAKER_02]: Me and my girl travel you to and I go outside and it's as old as wagon but you know they'll surf tight yeah and I looked at him in his girl getting that car and fried boy and I looked at my son and I said that motherfucker got to drag he's gonna go have a great time gonna be in a you know sleeping bag enjoying the weather fish and I said and where we're sitting here trying to figure out how we can get to a
- 55:29[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean, not figuratively, but you know what I mean, that's the whole fight with the world, this material objects, right?
- 55:36[SPEAKER_02]: And I just said to my son, I said, man, that dude's got a right job.
- 55:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he could care less.
- 55:43[SPEAKER_02]: And if you could have that kind of a mentality in today's life, man, which is so hard to do, because you just figure everybody's materialistic and everybody wants the best things, but really the best things are like the picture behind you, right?
- 55:57[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, those are really the best things that I live with that philosophy and I'm just talk about it I really do I know that I mean I do too.
- 56:03[SPEAKER_01]: I do too.
- 56:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's why I try to like keep you know low pro I don't do would you skydive?
- 56:09[SPEAKER_02]: Give me the bucket list.
- 56:10[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a bucket list.
- 56:12[SPEAKER_01]: So we're going to skydive.
- 56:13[SPEAKER_01]: It's funny you mentioned Utah.
- 56:14[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to Utah.
- 56:15[SPEAKER_01]: My kids, I have a place in Utah.
- 56:16[SPEAKER_02]: See there you go.
- 56:17[SPEAKER_01]: And they have indoor skydiving.
- 56:19[SPEAKER_01]: But you're just like basically like flying.
- 56:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 56:21[SPEAKER_02]: That ain't no DM skydiving.
- 56:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 56:23[SPEAKER_02]: Stop all that.
- 56:23[SPEAKER_02]: You're basically like flying.
- 56:25[SPEAKER_02]: Wait, you're flying, Jala.
- 56:27[SPEAKER_02]: You're kind of like skydiving.
- 56:29[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, let's end up, okay, they think it's guy and I would jump.
- 56:33[SPEAKER_01]: But I do have, I do have, you know, my bucket list stuff isn't very big because I didn't, I made him, come on man.
- 56:39[SPEAKER_01]: But now it's getting bigger after I got to travel on the internet.
- 56:42[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to do some bucket list items, a bit you don't have, let's say you've been in a shark cage?
- 56:47[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 56:48[SPEAKER_01]: See that's a crazy button.
- 56:49[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, you wrote in a hot air balloon.
- 56:51[SPEAKER_01]: No, I Okay, so you got some bucket of stuff.
- 56:54[SPEAKER_02]: Joe you got some stuff to do baby boy You done that.
- 56:58[SPEAKER_02]: Nope, yeah, and I'm not going to I'm gonna do the shark cage I am gonna do the shark case.
- 57:03[SPEAKER_02]: I've done the shark cage actually in a while, but
- 57:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, um, I want to do it in South Africa.
- 57:08[SPEAKER_02]: I want to go to Africa because my number one thing on my bucket is Africa.
- 57:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 57:13[SPEAKER_02]: By far is, is it from Africa?
- 57:16[SPEAKER_01]: So I do want to come up with a couple of countries.
- 57:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but I'm, you know, I, I'm an animal guy.
- 57:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 57:21[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I'm the guy that cries if the dog gets killed.
- 57:23[SPEAKER_02]: I'm one of them dudes, right?
- 57:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 57:25[SPEAKER_02]: And I love animals, I love seeing them in nature.
- 57:28[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's most majestic thing in the world.
- 57:30[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't know if I could, you know, a lion or a gorilla, or I would just lose my mind.
- 57:36[SPEAKER_02]: If I could see those things, I don't know if you've been watching, like, you go on social media, you see.
- 57:41[SPEAKER_02]: You can go to, I think it's Kenya.
- 57:43[SPEAKER_02]: We can go into the forest and you've got the guides.
- 57:45[SPEAKER_02]: And you're in the jungle and the gorillas walk by.
- 57:47[SPEAKER_02]: Have you seen that yet?
- 57:49[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 57:49[SPEAKER_02]: You see, man, let me tell you something right now, man.
- 57:52[SPEAKER_02]: That thing pushed this white lady the other day.
- 57:55[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, god, he just went, gout my way bitch, the gorilla.
- 58:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he did try to hurt her, but it was just the power.
- 58:04[SPEAKER_02]: I was just like,
- 58:07[SPEAKER_02]: want to see that he didn't try to hurt.
- 58:08[SPEAKER_02]: He was just being funny because they're they're they're used to you being there.
- 58:11[SPEAKER_02]: So like some every once in a while they'll pick one the mess with like they grabbed one lady she was sitting there like this and he dragged her for about five feet and he let her go.
- 58:21[SPEAKER_02]: Let's get you.
- 58:26[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, how dope is that?
- 58:29[SPEAKER_02]: I know she's saying to herself, what a great, like, so never forget it, right?
- 58:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, she did.
- 58:33[SPEAKER_02]: And the other day, the other day, I was watching, I was on either Facebook or one of those, and this girl was kayaking.
- 58:43[SPEAKER_02]: She's kayaking.
- 58:45[SPEAKER_02]: Eid Orcas, Surrounder.
- 58:49[SPEAKER_02]: When I say Surrounder, I'm talking about poking their head up right here by her and going down.
- 58:55[SPEAKER_00]: and I sit to myself.
- 58:58[SPEAKER_02]: I think I would have died, I would have had a heart attack.
- 59:02[SPEAKER_02]: But those are the kind of things that you get when you're in.
- 59:04[SPEAKER_02]: You know when you're out there in it, and you get to see it.
- 59:05[SPEAKER_02]: I just, I just, I think that anything, any kind of interaction with nature is such a blessing.
- 59:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I love that stuff.
- 59:12[SPEAKER_01]: No, I'm going back to the Pyramids of Egypt.
- 59:14[SPEAKER_01]: Is a bucket list thing for me.
- 59:15[SPEAKER_01]: Have you seen them?
- 59:16[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously.
- 59:16[SPEAKER_01]: I saw them.
- 59:16[SPEAKER_01]: I was a kid.
- 59:18[SPEAKER_01]: But I want to go back now as an adult.
- 59:19[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to have a different appreciation.
- 59:21[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I went as a teenager, but I barely remember.
- 59:23[SPEAKER_01]: And I wasn't super into it.
- 59:25[SPEAKER_02]: Well, there's two things, obviously.
- 59:26[SPEAKER_02]: It's just Africa.
- 59:27[SPEAKER_02]: So I want to definitely go see that.
- 59:29[SPEAKER_02]: But listen, there's only a country in Africa.
- 59:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's the motherland.
- 59:33[SPEAKER_02]: It's the motherland.
- 59:34[SPEAKER_02]: There's only a few things that you look at in the world that, and I don't know if there's even a few.
- 59:44[SPEAKER_02]: I guess there's a few that can't be explained.
- 59:48[SPEAKER_02]: And the pyramids are one of them.
- 59:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they are.
- 59:52[SPEAKER_01]: And as smart as we are, we still can't do it.
- 59:55[SPEAKER_01]: So explain that to me you know what I mean.
- 59:57[SPEAKER_02]: I just think you can't just super smart you can't Somebody get a 23 and me the in-add test.
- 1:00:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we should make sure the boys are just so Solid you know you can't explain it you know and I think that those kind of things that just make you boggle your mind I just so cool to see I mean I want to see them
- 1:00:21[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm gonna ask you a couple of quick questions or viral moments, what's harder, making the league or surviving business?
- 1:00:28[SPEAKER_01]: It's about the business.
- 1:00:30[SPEAKER_01]: Why?
- 1:00:32[SPEAKER_02]: You know, if you play basketball, you know how to play basketball.
- 1:00:35[SPEAKER_02]: You don't know how to do business.
- 1:00:36[SPEAKER_02]: You don't know how to do business.
- 1:00:37[SPEAKER_02]: And it's just hard to get it.
- 1:00:40[SPEAKER_02]: It's not like you just go practice.
- 1:00:43[SPEAKER_01]: You know, so it's just, yeah, it's tough.
- 1:00:46[SPEAKER_01]: What hits harder?
- 1:00:47[SPEAKER_01]: Losing the championship or losing your money.
- 1:00:52[SPEAKER_01]: Money because money's hard to make.
- 1:00:54[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 1:00:55[SPEAKER_01]: Did you ever cross past with Jordan?
- 1:00:57[SPEAKER_01]: And what's the story behind you?
- 1:01:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 1:01:02[SPEAKER_02]: And no real story asked him for a picture.
- 1:01:04[SPEAKER_02]: And he said no.
- 1:01:06[SPEAKER_02]: Kind of like Creme.
- 1:01:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:01:08[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, you got to go.
- 1:01:09[SPEAKER_01]: Well, he's got it.
- 1:01:10[SPEAKER_01]: He's got a contract with that product.
- 1:01:11[SPEAKER_01]: He's not allowed yet.
- 1:01:12[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay.
- 1:01:13[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that's it.
- 1:01:13[SPEAKER_02]: That's what he said to me then.
- 1:01:16[SPEAKER_01]: What's the single biggest financial mistake you've watched athletes make?
- 1:01:21[SPEAKER_02]: Um, bad businesses, and then what I mean by that is back in the day, they would all do either record labels or clothing companies to be one of the two, yeah, I guess I'm trying even the, yeah.
- 1:01:34[SPEAKER_01]: Corporate boardroom versus locker room.
- 1:01:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:01:37[SPEAKER_02]: Which I just knocked out though.
- 1:01:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, boardroom, I like it.
- 1:01:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:01:40[SPEAKER_02]: Corporate boardroom.
- 1:01:41[SPEAKER_02]: Corporate boardroom.
- 1:01:42[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 1:01:42[SPEAKER_01]: What do you now know in business that you wish you knew when you were 22 with the ball in your hands?
- 1:01:47[SPEAKER_02]: That people aren't as smart as you think they are.
- 1:01:50[SPEAKER_00]: You probably be one of my biggest things.
- 1:01:52[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's the truth.
- 1:01:53[SPEAKER_02]: It is.
- 1:01:54[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I've set across people that make millions of dollars and I always look across them.
- 1:01:58[SPEAKER_02]: I'll say, how?
- 1:01:59[SPEAKER_01]: How?
- 1:02:00[SPEAKER_01]: You know what?
- 1:02:00[SPEAKER_02]: Now I don't get it.
- 1:02:05[SPEAKER_01]: Have you ever done that like you you're in the morgue as many people make all this money and you talk to them and they're dumb as hell And you just go how how do you do it hustle What's one thing fans completely misunderstand about athletes and money?
- 1:02:24[SPEAKER_02]: They don't misunderstand it.
- 1:02:25[SPEAKER_02]: Anthony's been like crazy.
- 1:02:27[SPEAKER_02]: And there's very few that are really entrepreneurial, that are start to be like shacks.
- 1:02:32[SPEAKER_02]: So I think the perceptions are reality for a lot of things.
- 1:02:35[SPEAKER_02]: That's why we see a lot of necklaces, goofy stuff, with little hand-abairs on them.
- 1:02:41[SPEAKER_02]: I, you know, gyms fries, and just goofy stuff that's just, absolutely, it's just, it's all about the impression, baby.
- 1:02:54[SPEAKER_02]: When you grow up in nothing and show people you have so that's been the bag that's the biggest downfall of an athlete really to be honest.
- 1:03:04[SPEAKER_01]: What's one less than every man should learn from sports that applies to life and money?
- 1:03:09[SPEAKER_02]: You know what?
- 1:03:10[SPEAKER_02]: I would say that it to be honest with you.
- 1:03:15[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's consistency, right?
- 1:03:16[SPEAKER_02]: I think that you need to be consistent in your sports and I think you need to be consistent in the way that you invest and the way that you approach business.
- 1:03:25[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that consistency would probably be, I mean, I sit down with guys all the time that I try to get to do like, you know, I got a guy Fred Lee's right big, you don't Fred Lee's my chance.
- 1:03:34[SPEAKER_02]: He's big, big real estate guy.
- 1:03:36[SPEAKER_02]: I go to his office to the day and I'm like, friend, this and I got a deal, man.
- 1:03:40[SPEAKER_02]: I got a deal for it.
- 1:03:41[SPEAKER_02]: Got to hear this deal.
- 1:03:42[SPEAKER_02]: Right, listen, we're going to make some money on this deal.
- 1:03:45[SPEAKER_02]: I got that paper and I said, he said, Joe, is it real estate?
- 1:03:49[SPEAKER_02]: I said, no, man, but check this out.
- 1:03:50[SPEAKER_02]: AI, and you're going to look fast.
- 1:03:54[SPEAKER_02]: Did he let me pay it, he didn't let me pay it, he didn't let me pay it, he didn't.
- 1:03:58[SPEAKER_02]: I don't do anything.
- 1:03:59[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 1:04:01[SPEAKER_02]: So, that's consistent.
- 1:04:04[SPEAKER_01]: Now, what's one mistake people make when they try to reinvent themselves?
- 1:04:08[SPEAKER_01]: One mistake people make me try to reinvent myself.
- 1:04:11[SPEAKER_02]: I don't, you know, that's obviously through each and every individual.
- 1:04:14[SPEAKER_02]: But the one thing I would say is that you can't reinvent yourself until you know yourself.
- 1:04:18[SPEAKER_02]: So I think you better know yourself before you try to reinvent yourself.
- 1:04:21[SPEAKER_02]: And I think the hardest thing that people do in less than in life for people.
- 1:04:25[SPEAKER_02]: is that they don't accept who they are.
- 1:04:28[SPEAKER_02]: That's right.
- 1:04:28[SPEAKER_02]: And you got to accept who you are to change, baby.
- 1:04:31[SPEAKER_01]: If you could put one piece of advice on a billboard for every 22 year old pro-athlete, what would it say?
- 1:04:37[SPEAKER_01]: Be humble.
- 1:04:39[SPEAKER_01]: Man, that would save every one of them.
- 1:04:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 1:04:42[SPEAKER_01]: Now, we like to end the show with this interactive game segment.
- 1:04:45[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, we call it full court press, okay?
- 1:04:48[SPEAKER_01]: So round one is called corporate or locker room.
- 1:04:52[SPEAKER_01]: We need stronger leadership.
- 1:04:53[SPEAKER_01]: Corporate or locker room.
- 1:04:54[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, let me say locker room.
- 1:04:56[SPEAKER_01]: That guy isn't pulling his weight.
- 1:04:58[SPEAKER_01]: Corporate or locker room.
- 1:05:00[SPEAKER_01]: Locker.
- 1:05:01[SPEAKER_01]: Chemistry matters.
- 1:05:03[SPEAKER_01]: Corporate or locker room.
- 1:05:09[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna say boredom.
- 1:05:13[SPEAKER_01]: So that's corporate too.
- 1:05:14[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 1:05:15[SPEAKER_01]: We've got to trust the system.
- 1:05:17[SPEAKER_01]: Corporate a locker room.
- 1:05:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's a results business.
- 1:05:21[SPEAKER_01]: Corporate locker.
- 1:05:22[SPEAKER_01]: Corporate.
- 1:05:24[SPEAKER_01]: All right, segment two, million dollar decisions.
- 1:05:27[SPEAKER_01]: One million dollars, but you can never watch sports again.
- 1:05:30[SPEAKER_01]: Take it.
- 1:05:31[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 1:05:32[SPEAKER_01]: Of course I'd see it for life or a private jet for a year.
- 1:05:35[SPEAKER_02]: Of course I'd see it.
- 1:05:36[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go.
- 1:05:38[SPEAKER_01]: Lose your phone, or lose your wallet.
- 1:05:42[SPEAKER_01]: Be 25 again, or note everything you know now.
- 1:05:44[SPEAKER_02]: 25.
- 1:05:46[SPEAKER_01]: Play in today's NBA, or on a team.
- 1:05:49[SPEAKER_01]: On a team.
- 1:05:50[SPEAKER_01]: Of course.
- 1:05:51[SPEAKER_01]: Floor sees that the NBA finals in a game seven or a closed door meeting with Warren Buffett.
- 1:05:56[SPEAKER_02]: or a meeting with Warren Buffet.
- 1:05:58[SPEAKER_01]: All right, Joe, you've been a pleasure to have anything you want to plug into the audience, and you've got to fix any big things you want to plug in.
- 1:06:04[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, thank you.
- 1:06:06[SPEAKER_02]: Truly appreciate you guys having me on.
- 1:06:08[SPEAKER_02]: It's been a blast, and good luck with everything with Nordic CNP entry.
- 1:06:11[SPEAKER_01]: All right, let's go, Joe.
- 1:06:13[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, Joe Wast, make sure you guys check them out.
