- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, Demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Adam Smith in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:38It's Adam here now. Would you say that you at some
- 0:43point in your life have been guilty of chasing?
- 0:47Cheap thrills. And when I say that, I'm talking
- 0:50about things that are low value, but maybe give you an instant
- 0:57boost of dopamine or perhaps some other kind of stimulation.
- 1:02Now, the client that I was working with, the kind of cheap
- 1:05thrills that they were interested in were sexual cheap
- 1:08thrills. We're talking porn or sex
- 1:11workers, things like that. And they knew that it was quite
- 1:15temporary. Quite often they felt
- 1:17disappointed. They kind of felt a little bit
- 1:20hollow afterwards, and a lot of time that they would do it
- 1:23because they were chasing the essence of something, which was
- 1:26connection. But actually they were choosing
- 1:29a poor quality, cheap thrill substitute for what they really
- 1:33wanted, which was connection. This session is all about
- 1:38reprioritizing that to harness the ability to create a new
- 1:43standard of saying actually I don't want that.
- 1:46I actually want something much, much better.
- 1:49And you can think of a food analogy here.
- 1:52The equivalent of cheap thrills in food is lots of highly
- 1:55processed food like confectionery and snacks and
- 1:57junk food. And actually, it can feel kind
- 2:00of good in the moment, but actually in the bits that
- 2:03follow, which could be weight gain, bad teeth, you know, poor
- 2:07skin generally and bad sleep generally, it doesn't do good
- 2:10things for you, but really good quality real food.
- 2:14You enjoy it in the moment and you enjoy what it does for your
- 2:18body. Now the sexual equivalent of
- 2:20that might be a real meaningful relationship that could actually
- 2:24lead somewhere. Part of also with this
- 2:26particular client is that they were considering moving to a
- 2:29different city. So this gave us the ability to
- 2:33say, well, not only do they not want cheap thrills, but they
- 2:36actually get to have a new standard where the version of
- 2:39them in the new city holds themselves to a higher standard.
- 2:45Now the problem is a lot of people going through something
- 2:48tricky or in certain ruts and routines have the idea of, oh,
- 2:53I'll just move a different country, a different city.
- 2:57That doesn't work because you're taking yourself with you.
- 2:59It does work if the version of you that you take has different
- 3:04standards and different strategies, in which case you
- 3:07can be then congruent with that version of you in the new place
- 3:12and you can leave all of the old habits in the old place.
- 3:16That's when it's really, really powerful.
- 3:18If you're considering moving anyway, you don't have to do
- 3:22that. It's just if you are, there is
- 3:24an extra upside in a form of reinvention.
- 3:27Some people do that. If they change jobs and they
- 3:30want to be a slightly different version of themself in the new
- 3:34place because nobody really knows what they were like
- 3:36before, they can hold themselves to a higher standard.
- 3:39So if you want to raise your standards, if you want something
- 3:41more meaningful, or if you want to break certain habits that you
- 3:45consider cheap thrills, this is the session for you.
- 3:48It was created for an individual.
- 3:50Some of the suggestions would have been perfect for the client
- 3:52I was working with and not quite for you.
- 3:55So ignore any suggestions that that don't fit, hone into the
- 3:58ones that do. And if you like the idea of
- 4:01working with me directly, check out my website adamcox.co.uk or
- 4:05look in the description and you'll see various ways that you
- 4:07can work with me directly. For now though, find a quiet,
- 4:11comfortable place where you won't be distracted or
- 4:13disturbed. Relax.
- 4:15And enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in and as you
- 4:38breathe in, breathe in a wonderful feeling of calm and as
- 4:47you exhale, allow your eyelids to release any tension.
- 4:54Feel the heaviness of those eyelids can allow the relaxation
- 5:02to spread to all the tiny muscles of your eyes, all the
- 5:11way up to your eyebrows, then your forehead, down to your jaw
- 5:16and neck and your shoulders. I want you to imagine a helium
- 5:23balloon, and just for a moment, imagine what your head would
- 5:30feel like if it was a brightly colored helium balloon on a
- 5:35string. Feel the lightness, the floaty
- 5:40sensation that it requires no effort for your head to just
- 5:48float there, and in doing so, allow any tension around the
- 5:57back of the neck where the neck meets the shoulders and then
- 6:02down your arms to just release. That's it.
- 6:11Allow the muscles in your jaw to loosen and allow each breath to
- 6:17take you deeper and deeper. Relaxed.
- 6:25That's it. And when you breathe in, breathe
- 6:31in for deeper. And when you exhale, allow the
- 6:38outward breath to keep on going, breathing in deeper, exhaling
- 6:45for longer. Each breath takes you deeper and
- 6:52deeper, relaxed. Notice how comfortable you start
- 6:58to feel the gentle rhythm of your breathing in and out.
- 7:07Tap into that feeling of peace, calm, and tranquility, allowing
- 7:16the kind of stillness that comes naturally, the kind that begins
- 7:23paying attention to something deeper.
- 7:29That's it. And the deeper you breathe, the
- 7:33more relaxed you feel. And the more relaxed you feel
- 7:40the deeper you breathe. Each breath takes you deeper and
- 7:47deeper, relaxed. And as you follow that rhythm of
- 7:51your breathing, something interesting happens.
- 7:57Attention is like a lens, and where it focuses, experience
- 8:04changes. When attention is scattered, the
- 8:10mind will look for quick stimulation.
- 8:16But when focus and attention become steady, the mind begins
- 8:22recognizing real value, and just noticing the slow, steady breath
- 8:32can begin sharpening and focusing that inner lens,
- 8:40breathing in and releasing. When you exhale, each breath may
- 8:48enable you to notice a growing sense of distance.
- 8:53Distance from noise, from distractions, from old habits
- 9:00that once pulled attention in certain directions.
- 9:07And the more you think about habits, the more fascinating
- 9:10they become. Because habits are curious
- 9:14things, they often begin as shortcuts to relief.
- 9:22Quick way to change how you feel, an instant way to escape
- 9:27pressure. But in most cases, the shortcut
- 9:35is always the long road. Shortcuts have a cost.
- 9:42They trade long term value for short term stimulation.
- 9:51The mind that is awakening is already recognizing the
- 9:58difference. Imagine now standing on the side
- 10:10of a mountain, looking out to a wide open landscape, not empty,
- 10:20but full of possibility. And from this elevation you can
- 10:28see are the mountains in the distance, or lakes, or open
- 10:33fields, or rivers cutting through valleys.
- 10:39And allow this landscape to represent your life, not just
- 10:45your work, but the whole territory.
- 10:49Travel, adventure, golf courses stretching over quiet hills,
- 10:57Cities yet to be explored, connections yet to be made.
- 11:06And I want you to think of the infinite experiences that
- 11:10haven't even entered your awareness yet.
- 11:15You don't know what you don't know.
- 11:20And what if something important is happening in your life now?
- 11:26What if the energy that once went into narrow channels is
- 11:32being reclaimed, reinvested, directed into building a life?
- 11:44When life becomes interesting, addictive substitutes start to
- 11:50lose their appeal. Substitutes only exist when
- 11:59something real is missing. And somewhere in that vast
- 12:08landscape, there are different paths.
- 12:16There is the path of familiarity, a path of instant
- 12:20gratification, easy access. Like a tap that whenever you
- 12:28turn it, exactly what you think you want is going to flow.
- 12:39And that tap may be accessed by browsing online, swiping on an
- 12:46app, sending a message, making a call.
- 12:53And that path seems exciting. It risks any human element of
- 13:04loss because it avoids vulnerability.
- 13:08But when you think more about that pathway into a future, you
- 13:18begin noticing that nothing meaningful grows there.
- 13:23It's a closed system. Energy goes in and nothing
- 13:31lasting comes out. The things that come out are
- 13:36repetition, short term pleasure, but more often than not
- 13:45disappointment, shame or regret. And the man you are becoming has
- 13:56recognized that pattern. You've looked behind the
- 14:00curtain, you've seen what it's really like, how rarely it lives
- 14:08up to an expectation, and I want you to feel that you've never
- 14:16been so clear. And once something is clearly
- 14:21seen, it stops having the same pull.
- 14:29There are many people that used to love going to theme parks,
- 14:37but if they got a job in a theme park, even for a few weeks, the
- 14:42magic of the theme park loses its appeal entirely because
- 14:51they've seen behind the curtain. You've seen behind the curtain,
- 14:58you know that all the glitters is not gold.
- 15:03The fantasies are not reality. So let's imagine turning your
- 15:11attention towards that 2nd pathway, one that feels
- 15:17different. Not quite so easy.
- 15:23Maybe a longer Rd. because it requires something from you.
- 15:29It requires effort, discernment, patience, clarity of boundaries.
- 15:45It's a more difficult, rugged, riskier path.
- 15:51But it also offers something the first path never could value.
- 15:59Real connection, shared experiences, a partner whose
- 16:07presence improves your life rather than draining it.
- 16:14I want you to imagine a future with someone who shares your
- 16:18values, someone you respect and respects you.
- 16:25Someone who feels worthy of your time, but worth your time, worth
- 16:31your attention, worth your energy.
- 16:37And something fascinating happens when the mind commits to
- 16:40higher value. Lower value options lose their
- 16:47attraction, not because they are forbidden, but because they are
- 16:54so irrelevant. There are people in the world
- 17:01that are eating rotten food, mouldy food or waste of other
- 17:08people's food because they are so hungry.
- 17:14But once good quality food is available, why would anyone have
- 17:21the inferior food? Your mind already understands
- 17:28this principle because it exists everywhere in life.
- 17:39A person chasing the cheap thrills really builds anything
- 17:45valuable. The investor and the gambler
- 17:52want the same thing. They want a return on their
- 17:56investment. The gambler gets the dopamine,
- 18:01the rush, the excitement, but the risk return ratio guarantees
- 18:09they will lose. The investor is also taking a
- 18:14risk, but because they have patience and discernment, they
- 18:20are rewarded with something valuable that grows way beyond
- 18:25their initial investment. I want you to think of yourself
- 18:33as a person pursuing something meaningful and by definition,
- 18:40you need to be discerning and selective.
- 18:46How you spend your time, your money, your thoughts and
- 18:50emotions, how to be strategic and intentional.
- 18:58And this shift is already happening within you.
- 19:06You like taking risks, but why take risks with no payoff when
- 19:13you can take risks with a huge payoff?
- 19:20If you could buy a lottery ticket where you had no chance
- 19:24of winning and a lottery ticket it could lead to millions, and
- 19:31the cost of the ticket is the same, why would you ever buy the
- 19:36ticket if there was no chance of getting what you actually want?
- 19:44So allow your inner instinct to evolve.
- 19:50Before risk was directed towards stimulation, satisfaction, short
- 19:57term pleasure, but now? Risk becomes investment.
- 20:04Investment in relationships, investment in experiences, but
- 20:10most of all investment in becoming the man capable of
- 20:15attracting someone extraordinary.
- 20:22To attract someone extraordinary, the law of
- 20:28attraction says you can become someone extraordinary.
- 20:37And these meaningful relationships are not found by
- 20:40accident. They are attracted through
- 20:44alignment, and alignment begins with standards.
- 20:51And standards are not restrictions.
- 20:55They are standards. High standards.
- 21:04Standards that quietly define the direction of your life and
- 21:12allow your mind to wonder what those standards could be that
- 21:20enhances the quality of your life now and increases the
- 21:25probability of an even better life in the future.
- 21:34You can make these standards simple, clear and non
- 21:37negotiable. And maybe one of those standards
- 21:41is clarity. No looking for or paying for
- 21:52anything related to sex. It'll be a part of your mind,
- 22:01your brain that feels that it's missing out.
- 22:04What it's missing out on is meaningless.
- 22:12But by closing the door to meaningless, you open the door
- 22:16of possibility to meaningful. Those systems exist only to
- 22:25recycle attention and drain energy, and your attention is
- 22:30becoming far too valuable to waste.
- 22:36You can also have boundaries as to when and where you use your
- 22:40phone. Maybe certain applications are
- 22:46deleted, certain sites are blocked, certain rooms are no go
- 22:52areas to take your phone with. Because in the time, don't be
- 22:59surprised. In those same locations you get
- 23:02ideas, inspiration, epiphanies and clarity that help you move
- 23:09towards the future you desire. But the third standard is the
- 23:18most important. It's about living in accordance
- 23:25with the values that you desire. From this point onwards, you
- 23:36could decide to enforce a boundary where sex exists only
- 23:41within the pursuit or within the structure of a meaningful
- 23:49relationship. No longer dating for hookups,
- 23:55but dating for the kind of relationship you would desire.
- 24:02And what if intimacy regains its value that way?
- 24:06When it's connected to possibility, vulnerability when
- 24:12it's connected to trust, and a desire to build something
- 24:16meaningful? You can either accept these
- 24:21boundaries now, or consider planting seeds and allowing your
- 24:30intuition to know exactly when these standards become standards
- 24:35you can live by. You may even find that sooner
- 24:44than you think, they begin operating automatically,
- 24:50quietly, naturally, like a compass pointing towards the
- 24:54north. And now imagine the possibility
- 25:01of a new city. Different streets, different
- 25:06people, different energy. You can become whoever you want
- 25:13to be. And sometimes a new city is a
- 25:18fresh start to be that version of you even before you arrive.
- 25:28Consider it a psychological reset, not necessary, but maybe
- 25:32useful. And what makes that city
- 25:36powerful is not the city, but the identity you bring with you
- 25:43to that city. And the version of you arriving
- 25:48there will have already changed, already have higher standards,
- 25:57already have a clear mission and direction, already has hobbies
- 26:05and interests and passions, things that excite you, a
- 26:10catalyst to make new friendships, meet new people.
- 26:18You are building a life that another person would want to
- 26:21join rather than escape from. When you build a life worth
- 26:28sharing, certain people will gravitate and resonate toward
- 26:35it. That version of you will
- 26:43remember a time when you sought gratification and know that you
- 26:49don't want that anymore. What if, either in that city or
- 26:57a different city, you meet someone not because you chased
- 27:03it desperately, but because your life created the conditions for
- 27:08it, where you recognize shared values, shared curiosity, and
- 27:14shared direction? Before lungs, something becomes
- 27:20obvious. You are building something
- 27:25together which is far more valuable than anything temporary
- 27:29you left behind. And there will be no sense of
- 27:33sacrifice, no sense of missing out.
- 27:38Because what you have is richer, more meaningful, more alive.
- 27:45And from this moment forward, your mind begins treating
- 27:50attention as a valuable resource.
- 27:57Your time becomes an investment, your energy becomes a resource,
- 28:04and your choices align with the future.
- 28:05You want a meaningful relationship, a fulfilling life
- 28:13beyond work. And maybe there's a growth in
- 28:19your finances, your career, and a growing family.
- 28:25And every time you make a decision, small or big, that
- 28:30aligns with that future, you will feel an immediate boost in
- 28:37confidence, self esteem, and personal pride.
- 28:42And every time you say no to something that doesn't fit your
- 28:46boundaries, you will feel a wonderful feeling that you are
- 28:55heading in exactly the direction that you desire.
- 28:58And the more you become the person you want to be, the more
- 29:06you will naturally attract the person you're meant to be with.
- 29:13And as you hold that thought, allow yourself to return from
- 29:18the city, from the mountainside, and all the way back to the
- 29:23present as if you've been on a journey within your imagination.
- 29:29A journey of thoughts within thoughts, ideas within ideas,
- 29:34and dreams within dreams. It's now time to awaken, so take
- 29:39a deep breath in through your nose and out through your nose.
- 29:46Wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes.
- 29:48Connect and calibrate into the here and the now as I now count
- 29:52from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 29:57Starting to count 123 waking up 456 more alert 7-8.
- 30:04Open your eyes. Open your eyes 910.
