- 4:00Speaker 7: You sure come to the wrong place.
- 4:02Speaker 3: You could be putting on an ax.
- 4:04Speaker 7: You're around the ship. Go ahead and look for him.
- 4:07Speaker 5: Never mind, Come on, Collins, Come on, how are we
- 4:10Speaker 5: gonna wait? This is one place Sparrow would never show up.
- 4:14Speaker 5: They left the show sooner or later. And when he does,
- 4:18Speaker 5: let's get out of here. Salon pop so long.
- 4:32Speaker 7: Ah they left Sparrow.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Oh, I guess they believe you are.
- 4:40Speaker 4: He sure did. I offered to let him search the ship.
- 4:45Speaker 4: They was too sparse. Figured if you was really on board,
- 4:50Speaker 4: I wouldn't have offered, So they went away.
- 4:53Speaker 3: Thanks. Listen, here's a fiber.
- 4:58Speaker 7: Why do you want to drop them so bad?
- 5:00Speaker 3: Oh? I told you, you know, I owe them some money.
- 5:03Speaker 3: I ain't got it. Hey take the five.
- 5:05Speaker 4: Huh that isn't the way they told us. What isn't
- 5:10Speaker 4: the way you owe them a few bucks? The way
- 5:14Speaker 4: they figured it, it was fifty thousand. You're crazy in stones,
- 5:19Speaker 4: they said, where are they? Mister span I said, you're crazy.
- 5:24Speaker 4: You can see it again if it makes you feel
- 5:27Speaker 4: any better. I think maybe I'll take a look away
- 5:32Speaker 4: from that back. But mister Sparrow, I've got a gun.
- 5:35Speaker 4: Better keep clear of me. What do you dead?
- 5:41Speaker 3: You made that gunner.
- 5:44Speaker 7: A fool?
- 6:14Speaker 3: No?
- 6:17Speaker 9: Mm apparently yes, I was just about to curl up
- 6:23Speaker 9: in front of the fire with a bottle of shut iron,
- 6:25Speaker 9: sleep and sleep, and well maybe I don't need tablets
- 6:29Speaker 9: to soothe my nerves.
- 6:31Speaker 10: Come in, Thank you, mister Temples. My name is Susan Sparrow.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Yeah, it sounds very demure, are you?
- 6:41Speaker 10: Isn't that the kind of thing you should find out
- 6:43Speaker 10: for yourself.
- 6:44Speaker 9: Missus Sparrow or missus missus? Oh, and I could always
- 6:49Speaker 9: ask your.
- 6:49Speaker 10: Husband if you can find him. I can't. That's why
- 6:53Speaker 10: I've come to you.
- 6:54Speaker 3: Oh, I see somebody lost him.
- 6:56Speaker 10: Well, he was supposed to have reached New York three
- 6:58Speaker 10: days ago the steamship X Book.
- 7:01Speaker 3: Oh he was a passenger, No.
- 7:03Speaker 10: One of the crew. He hasn't come home.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Mister Templar, you waited three days before doing anything about it.
- 7:08Speaker 10: Well, of course, because we live in Cleveland.
- 7:11Speaker 9: Oh, which means you'd have allowed him a day to
- 7:13Speaker 9: get there, a day's wait before you got alarmed, and
- 7:16Speaker 9: a day for you to come here.
- 7:18Speaker 3: All right? Can you think of any reason why he
- 7:21Speaker 3: wouldn't have come to Cleveland?
- 7:23Speaker 10: Can you?
- 7:24Speaker 9: M Well, of course he may not feel the same
- 7:27Speaker 9: way I do about about Cleveland.
- 7:31Speaker 3: You've got in touch with the ship's captain.
- 7:34Speaker 10: No, you see, Frank, my husband didn't want anyone to
- 7:37Speaker 10: know he was married.
- 7:39Speaker 3: He's shy.
- 7:40Speaker 10: I don't know he well, he's sort of mysterious about things.
- 7:44Speaker 10: I see when you find him for me, mister Templar,
- 7:47Speaker 10: I'm afraid something may have happened to him, something terrible.
- 7:51Speaker 3: I'll do what I can.
- 7:52Speaker 10: That means you'll find him.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Very pretty vote of confidence.
- 7:56Speaker 10: But it's more than a vote. You're a life saved.
- 8:00Speaker 3: The silence, Well, thank you.
- 8:02Speaker 9: I just hope i'll strike the right flavor with your husband. Hey, pard,
- 8:15Speaker 9: I beg your pardon.
- 8:16Speaker 3: Where you're going. I'm on my way to the x Brook.
- 8:20Speaker 3: That's it, isn't it.
- 8:21Speaker 11: At the end of the year, Yes, that's the x brook.
- 8:23Speaker 11: But visiting ours ain't in effect? Oh yeah, hop of details.
- 8:27Speaker 11: Got a little job of work to do? Oh such
- 8:30Speaker 11: as drudging? It sounds deep for anything in particular a body?
- 8:36Speaker 11: I see someone fell overboard? Well maybe or he could
- 8:40Speaker 11: have been pushed. Okay, mister doubler, Well tell it. It's
- 8:55Speaker 11: ready to see you now.
- 8:56Speaker 9: It's very nice of the Lietenant. Come on, they found
- 9:01Speaker 9: the body then.
- 9:02Speaker 11: Yeah, watch your stuff here, Hey, lieutenant, here's the guy.
- 9:11Speaker 5: Okay Simmons, Now, mister Temple, I understands you've been hanging around.
- 9:15Speaker 9: Watch for waiting might be a better description. I bring
- 9:19Speaker 9: you here a man named Sparrow, friend of yours. I
- 9:22Speaker 9: never met him, however, i'd like to see him. Why
- 9:24Speaker 9: he might be worth seeing? He might be Wait a minute,
- 9:28Speaker 9: mister Temple, aren't you the saint?
- 9:30Speaker 3: He is? But you don't want my biography at the moment,
- 9:32Speaker 3: do you? No? Ma'am?
- 9:40Speaker 5: He said you wanted to look at Sparrow. Okay, look
- 9:43Speaker 5: at him. He's not very pretty. Nobody is. After soaking
- 9:48Speaker 5: in the harbor for three days, she's must have been hungry. Yeah,
- 9:52Speaker 5: the guy's face is practically gone, but he was carrying
- 9:55Speaker 5: his papers on him the temple.
- 9:58Speaker 3: You've found your man, Frank Sparrow. Mmmm, he was drowned.
- 10:02Speaker 3: Surprised he wasn't drowned. A couple of bullets in him. Oh,
- 10:06Speaker 3: we'll put him there.
- 10:07Speaker 5: The same night he disappeared, the night watchman on this
- 10:09Speaker 5: tub disappeared too, an all guy named Gleason. We found
- 10:13Speaker 5: the watchman's gun in one of the ventilators. Two shots
- 10:15Speaker 5: had been fired from it. Also, some weights were missing.
- 10:17Speaker 9: Watchman shot Spara put the weights in his clothing to
- 10:21Speaker 9: keep him down for a while.
- 10:22Speaker 3: Get him down for three days. But Sparrow came up anyway.
- 10:25Speaker 9: Proving you can't keep a good man down or a
- 10:29Speaker 9: bad man.
- 10:40Speaker 3: Templar acts suspicious about anything, Susy, No.
- 10:42Speaker 10: He believed me. He's out looking for Sparrow.
- 10:45Speaker 3: Now, you're a good girl, Susy.
- 10:47Speaker 10: I wonder they go now, that could be unhealthy.
- 10:50Speaker 5: Me and Collins asked you to front for us, get
- 10:52Speaker 5: a legit character like template to find Sparrow for us,
- 10:55Speaker 5: for which you get paid. Don't wonder, all right, leg.
- 11:00Speaker 10: Why are you so anxious to find Sparrow?
- 11:02Speaker 3: He goes, Me and Colin must be a lot mind
- 11:05Speaker 3: your own business?
- 11:06Speaker 8: Is he?
- 11:08Speaker 5: Where's Collins telling Templar? We want to know where Sparrow is?
- 11:12Speaker 5: The instant Templar tags we goo.
- 11:15Speaker 10: You told me why you didn't want to go to
- 11:17Speaker 10: Templar yourself. You said he'd be more willing to do
- 11:20Speaker 10: it of a pretty girl like me, asked him.
- 11:21Speaker 3: And what's that supposed to be? Nudes?
- 11:24Speaker 4: No?
- 11:24Speaker 10: But I'm beginning to think maybe the reason you wanted
- 11:28Speaker 10: your names kept out of it is suppose something happens
- 11:31Speaker 10: to Sparrow after Templar finds him, something fatal, then you'd
- 11:37Speaker 10: be in the clear.
- 11:38Speaker 3: You've got a very healthy imagination.
- 11:40Speaker 10: It doesn't feel healthy right now.
- 11:42Speaker 5: Listen, you're running in there, inform me. Don't try to
- 11:46Speaker 5: run it up to anything else.
- 11:48Speaker 10: Otherwise you wouldn't lay a hand on me.
- 11:50Speaker 5: Oh wouldn't I? Oh see, you were wrong about that.
- 11:56Speaker 5: It could be wrong about lots of things, So stop imagining.
- 12:00Speaker 3: Just do like your told.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Me.
- 12:04Speaker 3: I'll talk into the bedroom un till we see you's
- 12:06Speaker 3: coming for somebody else.
- 12:11Speaker 7: Coming?
- 12:11Speaker 10: Coming? Oh hello, Simon?
- 12:18Speaker 3: May I come in?
- 12:19Speaker 10: Of course I'm glad you came. I've been sort of lonely.
- 12:26Speaker 3: That's not exactly why I came, Oh.
- 12:29Speaker 10: Simon, you don't mean you've already found Frank. I don't, Oh, Simon,
- 12:35Speaker 10: you're wonderful.
- 12:36Speaker 9: Not especially. It was very simple. What isn't simple is
- 12:40Speaker 9: why someone followed me here.
- 12:42Speaker 10: Someone followed you, or you must be imagining it.
- 12:45Speaker 9: Perhaps I thought better of my imagination though. However, Susan,
- 12:51Speaker 9: what was your husband carrying on him?
- 12:53Speaker 10: I don't quite know what that means, carrying something?
- 12:57Speaker 3: Just a wild shot, Susan.
- 12:59Speaker 9: When I got down to the ship, the police were
- 13:02Speaker 9: very busy doing what fishing a body out of the harbor.
- 13:06Speaker 9: The papers found on it belonged to Frank Spoun. Oh no, no,
- 13:11Speaker 9: nothing else in his pockets except Susan. A night watchman
- 13:16Speaker 9: named Gleaton disappeared the night of the murder, presumably after
- 13:19Speaker 9: emptying those pockets.
- 13:22Speaker 10: Oh that's why you asked me what my husband might
- 13:25Speaker 10: be carrying on? I don't know, I Simon. You'd better go.
- 13:30Speaker 3: Now, of course. The shock Yes, good night, Susan.
- 13:37Speaker 10: Good night, Simon.
- 13:41Speaker 3: Came from down the hall.
- 13:43Speaker 10: Simon, don't leave me, he dear, Susan.
- 13:49Speaker 9: Come on back in, Simon, the new Corps, same man
- 13:54Speaker 9: who'd followed me here, Colin, what you just said Colin.
- 13:59Speaker 10: Did you see the man who?
- 14:00Speaker 3: No? By the time I got to the end of
- 14:02Speaker 3: the holly was gone. Who is Colin, Susan.
- 14:06Speaker 10: I don't know anyone named Colin's. You must have made
- 14:08Speaker 10: a mistake, Susan.
- 14:10Speaker 3: A man was just killed out there. The police will be.
- 14:13Speaker 9: Along in a very little while. They'll identify him. That'll
- 14:16Speaker 9: lead them to you.
- 14:17Speaker 10: No, the police don't know anything about I do. You
- 14:19Speaker 10: wouldn't tell them.
- 14:21Speaker 3: How long have you been married to Frank Sparrow?
- 14:24Speaker 10: A couple of years.
- 14:26Speaker 9: You spend a lot of time outdoors, don't you. Someone
- 14:29Speaker 9: must have told you how attractive tanned blondes are.
- 14:32Speaker 10: Well, yes, I do, get out a bit.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Mind slipping that wedding ring off your finger? No thanks?
- 14:41Speaker 3: What are you staring at your ring? Finger hand prettily
- 14:44Speaker 3: even under the ring? What?
- 14:46Speaker 9: You haven't been wearing that ring very long, Susan, Otherwise
- 14:49Speaker 9: there'd be a band of lighter skin on your finger.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Which means you're not married, Susan. You just started wearing
- 14:55Speaker 3: that ring today, Simon, I do. You'll have to you
- 14:59Speaker 3: pretend to be Sparrow's wife and asked me to find him.
- 15:02Speaker 10: Why I a friend of mine? I mean Sparrow was
- 15:07Speaker 10: a friend of mine. I was worried about him. You know,
- 15:10Speaker 10: you know I didn't kill Collins. I was here in
- 15:13Speaker 10: the room with you.
- 15:14Speaker 9: Some one you know might have killed Collins, just as
- 15:16Speaker 9: you might have killed Sparrow.
- 15:18Speaker 10: What you said? The night watchman Gleason.
- 15:20Speaker 9: Was suspected, that's all. Who asked you to pretend you
- 15:23Speaker 9: were Sparrow's wife?
- 15:25Speaker 10: A man named Rego?
- 15:27Speaker 3: Why did he want Sparrow found?
- 15:29Speaker 10: He didn't tell me.
- 15:30Speaker 3: What were you supposed to do when I found Sparrow?
- 15:33Speaker 3: For you?
- 15:33Speaker 10: Tell Rego? That's all?
- 15:35Speaker 3: Huh? Where is Rego? Now? I don't know where does
- 15:38Speaker 3: he live?
- 15:39Speaker 10: I don't know that either, But.
- 15:40Speaker 3: The next time you see him, Susan, ask him to
- 15:42Speaker 3: get in touch with me. All right, Simon, is there
- 15:46Speaker 3: a back way out of this apartment? I'd just as
- 15:49Speaker 3: soon avoid the police.
- 15:50Speaker 9: Back way apartments frequently have them, you know, usually through
- 15:54Speaker 9: the kitchen, of course.
- 15:56Speaker 10: Come on, I'll show you. You can go right out here.
- 16:01Speaker 10: Those stairs lead to the street.
- 16:03Speaker 3: Oh, thank you, Susan, Simon.
- 16:06Speaker 10: Couldn't you forget that you ever came to see me?
- 16:08Speaker 3: Forget? Yes, Susan, I can be forgetful about a lot
- 16:12Speaker 3: of things, but not murder. Bred boy gone. Oh, reg
- 16:23Speaker 3: you went very smart, Susan. What do you mean feeding
- 16:26Speaker 3: bread boy my name?
- 16:28Speaker 10: I had to otherwise he might have turned me over
- 16:30Speaker 10: to the cops.
- 16:31Speaker 3: You didn't knock off Collins, did you? So why worry?
- 16:34Speaker 10: Because maybe you did?
- 16:36Speaker 5: Little thinker, ain't you, Susie. I was in the apartment
- 16:40Speaker 5: when Colin's got it.
- 16:41Speaker 10: You could have gone out the back door, shut him,
- 16:44Speaker 10: then come back.
- 16:45Speaker 3: Sure, only you forgot to mention that's the temper.
- 16:48Speaker 10: I didn't forget, Rego. You were expecting something from Sparrow,
- 16:53Speaker 10: something worth money. That night watchman who killed Sparrow must
- 16:57Speaker 10: have stolen it. But you're going to find that night
- 17:00Speaker 10: watchman now, aren't you.
- 17:01Speaker 5: I wouldn't know Sparrow's being fished out of the hob.
- 17:04Speaker 5: It don't make me feel good, Rego.
- 17:07Speaker 10: I stuck my neck out on this for peanuts. There's
- 17:10Speaker 10: been a couple of murders, Rego. I want more money
- 17:14Speaker 10: for my end of this job.
- 17:16Speaker 5: Suppose I did kill Colin, says, that would be on
- 17:20Speaker 5: account of I didn't want to cut him in.
- 17:23Speaker 10: I mentioned your name to Templar. That would be because
- 17:27Speaker 10: I wouldn't want you to get the same idea about me.
- 17:32Speaker 5: You're not only pretty, sissy, you're smart. Thanks, you could
- 17:36Speaker 5: easily get too smart. All right, I'll cut you in, Susy,
- 17:42Speaker 5: but no more flapping of them out the templar right right?
- 17:46Speaker 3: Am? I?
- 17:47Speaker 10: Where are you going home?
- 17:48Speaker 3: I'm a hard working man. I need a rest.
- 17:50Speaker 10: What about Gleason the night watchman?
- 17:53Speaker 3: Don't worry, you'll have to pedal the stuff he took
- 17:55Speaker 3: off Sparrow when he does.
- 17:57Speaker 10: You won't forget to let me know, will you?
- 18:00Speaker 5: I won't forget, And you watch yourself for that singer,
- 18:04Speaker 5: because the way I've heard it, it's only a nickname.
- 18:16Speaker 9: Hello Rica, I rather thought you'd be using the back door.
- 18:21Speaker 9: Let's not loiter, shall we? The police object you have
- 18:27Speaker 9: a nice visit with Susan.
- 18:28Speaker 3: Susan who.
- 18:32Speaker 9: If you weren't in Susan's apartment, you might have been
- 18:34Speaker 9: out in the hallway killing Collins.
- 18:36Speaker 5: Now you mentioned it, you meant Susan. Sure I was
- 18:40Speaker 5: in her apartment all the time.
- 18:41Speaker 3: Why were you hiding when I dropped in? How it is?
- 18:45Speaker 3: I'm a gentleman.
- 18:47Speaker 9: The word has been redefined since I went to school, Rigo.
- 18:50Speaker 9: It looks as though Sparrow is a dead end. How
- 18:53Speaker 9: are you going to find Gleeson?
- 18:55Speaker 3: Why should I want him? Whatever Sparrow had, Gleason has it.
- 18:58Speaker 5: Now something We ain't hear Susie's apartment house anymore.
- 19:04Speaker 3: It's kind of late, nobody around.
- 19:07Speaker 5: You're very observant, also somebody who don't like interference. So
- 19:12Speaker 5: that's why you're showing me your gun temper? What's to
- 19:14Speaker 5: stop me from getting you out of my head?
- 19:17Speaker 3: For one thing, you're bald.
- 19:18Speaker 9: For another, the man who's been trailing us ever since
- 19:21Speaker 9: we left Susan's house.
- 19:23Speaker 3: You're lying look back fat. Oh no, you're just angling
- 19:26Speaker 3: for a chance to jump me. It's your problem. Okay,
- 19:29Speaker 3: move up in front of me a couple of peep
- 19:31Speaker 3: and now I'll take a look.
- 19:33Speaker 5: So, yeah, I've seen him, only I couldn't have he's dead.
- 19:48Speaker 3: Prettygo. You're a fool. If you hadn't started running, we
- 19:50Speaker 3: could have caught the man trailing us. I like this
- 19:53Speaker 3: better being on a cab. Oh that's the.
- 19:55Speaker 6: Kind of remark I approve of.
- 19:57Speaker 3: Let me stay out of this conversation.
- 19:59Speaker 6: Uh sudden, Oh you don't like cab drivers, mister Tumphem,
- 20:01Speaker 6: I'm crazy about them. Look, I see two fellas having
- 20:04Speaker 6: a foot race in the middle of the night. I
- 20:06Speaker 6: think maybe they would get there faster in a cab.
- 20:08Speaker 6: I pull over to the kop And it's my fault.
- 20:11Speaker 6: It turned out to be you. H'h mister company.
- 20:13Speaker 3: No, Louis, I'm very grateful that you stopped.
- 20:15Speaker 6: For it, okay, And nobody mentioned the address fifty three Cosson,
- 20:20Speaker 6: Well it's an address.
- 20:22Speaker 3: Who is that man, Rigo? George Washington? Here a little
- 20:25Speaker 3: behind the times, Riga, did you kill Colins? No? An
- 20:28Speaker 3: you prove it. No, the police are going to want
- 20:30Speaker 3: somebody for that murder. All let them find their own murderers.
- 20:32Speaker 3: I got other troubles. You may turn out to be
- 20:34Speaker 3: the same trouble. Rigo.
- 20:36Speaker 9: You didn't kill Collins, and the man who did maybe
- 20:38Speaker 9: after you. Yeah, and for the same reason. Get you
- 20:42Speaker 9: out of the way so he could catch in on
- 20:44Speaker 9: the stuff Sparrow was smuggling into the country, jewels, that
- 20:47Speaker 9: guy who.
- 20:48Speaker 3: Cares what you guess? Besides, that would make it Gleason.
- 20:51Speaker 5: And I ain't afraid of Gleason's why not because he
- 20:54Speaker 5: ain't dead.
- 21:04Speaker 6: And mister Temple, yes, Louis, you know personally I'm not
- 21:08Speaker 6: sorry we deposited mister Rego at his house. He's not
- 21:11Speaker 6: the type I'm comfortable driving around.
- 21:13Speaker 3: In my care. That would be narrow minded, Louis. No,
- 21:15Speaker 3: it's not that I'm narrow minded, just so happens. I'm
- 21:19Speaker 3: not bulletproof neither.
- 21:21Speaker 6: Hey, mister Temple, you want I should drive you back
- 21:25Speaker 6: to that blonde's apartment.
- 21:26Speaker 3: No, Louise, Oh, then your description of what was not
- 21:30Speaker 3: the truth? Oh? It was the truth. But I have
- 21:32Speaker 3: a more important earn go on in the middle of
- 21:34Speaker 3: the night.
- 21:34Speaker 6: What could be more important than a blonde?
- 21:38Speaker 3: Louis? Make it the more all right, Louis, Oh, it's
- 21:52Speaker 3: about time.
- 21:53Speaker 6: I don't enjoy waiting around for affair outside of the morgue.
- 21:55Speaker 3: I get morbid thoughts. What do you want? I should
- 21:58Speaker 3: take you back house? Look, mister Temple, I got a suggestion.
- 22:03Speaker 3: Why don't we just stay here and send for Rigo?
- 22:05Speaker 6: You know, then after he got through with this, we
- 22:07Speaker 6: could move right into the walk without bothering nobody.
- 22:10Speaker 3: Europe. Yes, I should have been a truck driver. Oh,
- 22:13Speaker 3: you whistled nicely.
- 22:15Speaker 6: My brother in law, he keeps telling me. Louis says,
- 22:18Speaker 6: you should be a truck driver. You'll in manners want
- 22:21Speaker 6: to be polite to people. Why not to help distress
- 22:24Speaker 6: motorists when they're in distress?
- 22:26Speaker 3: Why not? You shouldn't be a road hog.
- 22:28Speaker 6: And above everything else, he says, you don't.
- 22:30Speaker 3: Have to associate with riff rat. So I listen to them.
- 22:34Speaker 6: No, I stay a cab driver, and.
- 22:36Speaker 3: I visit the Maugue. Hey, mister Temple, what did you
- 22:39Speaker 3: do there? Looked at the corps they fished out of
- 22:42Speaker 3: the harbor? Uh huh. He improved in appearance hard Lane.
- 22:46Speaker 9: However, I did suggest that the officer in charge that
- 22:49Speaker 9: he get in touch immediately with Sparrow's dentist.
- 22:51Speaker 3: Oh wow, wow, the corpse has a toothchacher.
- 22:54Speaker 9: Oh, I don't know, but it's possible, Louis, it's possible.
- 23:06Speaker 3: We rego.
- 23:10Speaker 10: It's Susie. Let me in, unlocked the door.
- 23:17Speaker 3: It's nice of you to visit me, Susan.
- 23:20Speaker 10: What's the matter with you?
- 23:23Speaker 3: I see things? You sure you come along?
- 23:27Speaker 10: Of course I did.
- 23:29Speaker 5: Maybe you only think so because maybe somebody came with you,
- 23:33Speaker 5: only you can't see him.
- 23:35Speaker 10: You're drunk.
- 23:36Speaker 3: I wish I was drunker.
- 23:38Speaker 10: Rego, you killed Collins, that's all you wouldn't have killed
- 23:43Speaker 10: him on speculation. You must have found glease On yourself,
- 23:47Speaker 10: got the jewels from him, then you killed Colin so
- 23:50Speaker 10: you could.
- 23:50Speaker 3: Keep them all maybe your nuts.
- 23:54Speaker 5: I want my share, So you come right over and
- 23:57Speaker 5: ask fin like I mind not Collins off on account
- 24:00Speaker 5: of these stones?
- 24:02Speaker 3: What makes you think I wouldn't do the same thing for.
- 24:04Speaker 10: You because I've got this.
- 24:07Speaker 3: Oh, ladies, model, it'll do. Yeah, not very bright, sis
- 24:15Speaker 3: I Rigo?
- 24:16Speaker 10: What's the matter?
- 24:18Speaker 3: Window? There's somebody in the window.
- 24:22Speaker 10: Who he's got a gun.
- 24:23Speaker 3: I figured him to have one.
- 24:26Speaker 10: Did you run?
- 24:29Speaker 3: That's no place to run to?
- 24:36Speaker 10: We run? Oh?
- 24:41Speaker 2: No, no, open the door?
- 24:50Speaker 3: Simon? Shot where we go? Never mind?
- 24:55Speaker 7: Rego Rico?
- 24:57Speaker 3: Who shots? No, no, Rego, don't be a fool. Oh Rico.
- 25:11Speaker 10: Eh, that's that Simon.
- 25:14Speaker 3: He's dead. You were the only one in the room
- 25:16Speaker 3: with him. Susan.
- 25:17Speaker 10: He was shot through that window, Simon. Please believe me.
- 25:21Speaker 9: Mm when the glass broke him by the bullets.
- 25:25Speaker 3: He just a glass fell into the room. That means
- 25:27Speaker 3: someone outside shot Rico. Someone keep talking, Susan. He still out. Ah, yeah,
- 25:35Speaker 3: you mustn't know that. We know we're in the light.
- 25:37Speaker 3: Oh is it? I think I could name him.
- 25:41Speaker 9: Keep talking, Scissan, I'm going to work my way around
- 25:45Speaker 9: to the wall next to the window. As soon as
- 25:47Speaker 9: I get there. Put the lights out in here.
- 25:49Speaker 3: The lights. Why you're near the switch.
- 25:51Speaker 9: Don't look at it for I as to your left
- 25:56Speaker 9: a little higher than your waist. Turn a bit away
- 25:59Speaker 9: from me. Slide one hand behind your back.
- 26:02Speaker 10: What are you going to do, Simon?
- 26:03Speaker 3: The light? I'm scared to worry about it, I said, Susan.
- 26:10Speaker 3: Cut your finger on the switch.
- 26:11Speaker 12: Yes, all right, then let's have a little darkness.
- 26:25Speaker 3: Yeah, much better, Susan. Put the lights on inside?
- 26:31Speaker 10: All right, Simon, Simon?
- 26:34Speaker 7: Did you yes?
- 26:35Speaker 9: Yes, a little stranger is resting you recognize him? No,
- 26:41Speaker 9: I've never seen him, and perhaps.
- 26:42Speaker 3: I'd better introduce you to him. Susan, meet mister Sparrow.
- 26:57Speaker 3: So all right, mister Temple, is a guy you in that?
- 26:59Speaker 3: That'll Rigo's house was Sparrow? Yeah, so he killed REGOs
- 27:03Speaker 3: so he also killed Collins only but he was dead.
- 27:06Speaker 9: No, Louis, he checked with Sparrow's deadist. It wasn't Sparrow
- 27:10Speaker 9: in the morgue.
- 27:11Speaker 3: Or sure, sure he was out shooting feet. But if
- 27:14Speaker 3: it wasn't Sparrow, who was the night watchman Gleason?
- 27:18Speaker 6: Oh, oh, you mean instead of gleasonan knocking off Sparrow,
- 27:21Speaker 6: it was Sparrow, which.
- 27:22Speaker 9: Not for Gleicion, That's right, Louis. Then he emptied Gleason's
- 27:26Speaker 9: pockets and put his own papers in them. He hoped
- 27:28Speaker 9: that would result in the police looking for Gleeson.
- 27:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:31Speaker 9: He also hoped it would throw Collins and Rego off.
- 27:34Speaker 9: It did, and that he could kill them and keep
- 27:37Speaker 9: the jewels for himself.
- 27:38Speaker 3: It's a very low type.
- 27:41Speaker 6: Only you must have known before you caught Sparrow on
- 27:44Speaker 6: a coup. If you know, you told the cops to
- 27:45Speaker 6: look up that dentist.
- 27:47Speaker 3: So how did you know?
- 27:48Speaker 9: Obviously Sparrow was in a hurry after he killed Gleeson,
- 27:51Speaker 9: the shots might have been heard. Therefore, he didn't have
- 27:54Speaker 9: time to change clothes with the dead man. All he
- 27:57Speaker 9: could do was empty Gleason's pockets of everything that he
- 28:00Speaker 9: might have identified him and substitute his own identification.
- 28:02Speaker 6: And then he hoped the water and the fishes would
- 28:04Speaker 6: make it impossible to identify Lesion.
- 28:06Speaker 3: Huh, but that still don't tell me, Louis.
- 28:09Speaker 9: No, it was too pat what the only thing in
- 28:13Speaker 9: a corpse. This pocket turned out to be is identification
- 28:15Speaker 9: papers a corpse otherwise unrecognizable. Oh it's too pat and
- 28:20Speaker 9: therefore for a fake.
- 28:21Speaker 6: Sure, okay, yeah, but there's something else you have to explain,
- 28:24Speaker 6: which is why ain't that beautiful blonde.
- 28:27Speaker 3: With you, Susan?
- 28:28Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 28:28Speaker 3: Oh, she's in conference at headquarters? Is that so? Yes?
- 28:33Speaker 3: Who says the policeman's lot is not a happy one?

- 31:06Speaker 1: Welcome back. Well, this one was probably, in terms of mystery,
- 31:10Speaker 1: one of the weaker Saint plots. I guess this one
- 31:15Speaker 1: early on, just because it did seem to me the
- 31:21Speaker 1: likely big shakeup rather than any of these people who
- 31:24Speaker 1: were far away having committed the crime. I also have
- 31:30Speaker 1: to say that with the suspects talking among themselves and
- 31:36Speaker 1: the way the Saint comes into this, it almost seems
- 31:39Speaker 1: like a script for The Falcon, and I can't help
- 31:42Speaker 1: but wonder if this was either a reused script or
- 31:47Speaker 1: a script that had been proposed for the Falcon and
- 31:51Speaker 1: then rejected and subsequently reworked for the Saint. Acting is
- 31:58Speaker 1: still good Invencent Price acts as always. Speaking of that,
- 32:01Speaker 1: we have some listener comments and feedback. Jen says love
- 32:07Speaker 1: Vincent Price's voice on the Saint radio show. I have
- 32:12Speaker 1: I'd have watched him a lot more than Roger Moore
- 32:17Speaker 1: if he'd been on the TV series. While high praise indeed,
- 32:21Speaker 1: Jan and then we have a note from Joe. I
- 32:24Speaker 1: just wanted to drop you a line letting you know
