- 0:19Speaker 2: Sometimes you're asking questions that are that are really hard
- 0:22Speaker 2: to answer, because you know, if the team's ready to go,
- 0:25Speaker 2: they have a good week in preparation, why we go
- 0:28Speaker 2: out like that? I mean, nobody wants to go out
- 0:29Speaker 2: and coach that way. Nobody wants to go out and
- 0:31Speaker 2: play that way. Nobody wants to go out and lose
- 0:33Speaker 2: that way. We wait too much pride, you know, And
- 0:36Speaker 2: and this is these are great opportunities for me to
- 0:41Speaker 2: coach this football team and to lead this football team
- 0:43Speaker 2: into too, to instruct this football team, and until until
- 0:49Speaker 2: we've got some young guys that are that are that
- 0:51Speaker 2: are learning this for the first time, you know, and
- 0:53Speaker 2: then kind of going through a little adversity, and you know,
- 0:57Speaker 2: again we're trying to put ours and positions to be
- 1:02Speaker 2: a better football team in the AFC, and and sometimes
- 1:06Speaker 2: it looks brilliant, and then there's days like today not
- 1:09Speaker 2: so good.
- 1:12Speaker 1: We'll giving to jag Zam November thirteenth, kent On a
- 1:14Speaker 1: Stevens Brian sexist and John Osier with you here today.
- 1:16Speaker 1: We're gonna try to make some sense what we saw yesterday.
- 1:19Speaker 1: A lot of questions. I'm not sure we have all
- 1:21Speaker 1: the answers, but we're going to talk through some things.
- 1:23Speaker 3: Brian.
- 1:23Speaker 1: That was not what we expected, and in a way
- 1:27Speaker 1: that I didn't expect either. I tell you that lack
- 1:30Speaker 1: of effort too, you know.
- 1:31Speaker 4: I think it was on Jack's weekend. In the huddle
- 1:33Speaker 4: as we finished that show up last week, I said,
- 1:35Speaker 4: I think that this team will prove that they are
- 1:38Speaker 4: the best team in the AFC.
- 1:39Speaker 5: I expect him to play well.
- 1:40Speaker 4: I didn't say whether they would win or not, because
- 1:42Speaker 4: I don't know that you could with the team like
- 1:43Speaker 4: San Francisco. I walked out of here last night thinking
- 1:45Speaker 4: we've done this a long time. How did I not
- 1:48Speaker 4: see that coming?
- 1:49Speaker 3: Well? I think they got punched a little bit early
- 1:52Speaker 3: and maybe stunned a little bit, and I think that
- 1:56Speaker 3: sort of contributes kay to what you're talking about with
- 1:58Speaker 3: you know, sometimes that looks like a lack of effort,
- 2:01Speaker 3: focus whatever. I think. I think you get shell shocked
- 2:05Speaker 3: and gut punched and didn't recover. Some of the players
- 2:09Speaker 3: talked about not it was Trevor talked about now responding
- 2:11Speaker 3: to adversity. I thought the sum up quote from Doug
- 2:17Speaker 3: was when he talked about telling the team you haven't
- 2:19Speaker 3: doe anything Yeteah. To me, Doug's really good during his
- 2:23Speaker 3: postgame press conference, sort of tying things up and telling
- 2:26Speaker 3: you what he's thinking. Remember how sort of frustrated and
- 2:30Speaker 3: angry he was after Houston. This was more of these
- 2:34Speaker 3: guys gotta realize we had a lot to do and
- 2:36Speaker 3: we haven't accomplished anything.
- 2:38Speaker 5: So let's go. I don't know whether you guys are.
- 2:41Speaker 5: I'm a body language person.
- 2:42Speaker 4: I like to I like to go to the field
- 2:43Speaker 4: before the game and see if I can get a
- 2:45Speaker 4: feel an all week in the locker room, there was
- 2:48Speaker 4: no lack of energy, there was no lack of purpose,
- 2:50Speaker 4: there was no lack of focus.
- 2:52Speaker 5: Right.
- 2:52Speaker 4: I could never have told you that that was going
- 2:55Speaker 4: to happen based on what I saw an hour before
- 2:57Speaker 4: the game.
- 2:57Speaker 5: I mean, that's show.
- 2:58Speaker 4: What I saw from Doug that thought that we just
- 3:01Speaker 4: watched off the top is controlled anger. I mean the
- 3:06Speaker 4: way he was jerking his head, I mean he's mad.
- 3:08Speaker 1: You can see this whole second half of that game.
- 3:10Speaker 1: He was on the sideline coaching mad.
- 3:12Speaker 4: But he also knows as the leader of right, you
- 3:14Speaker 4: got two division games coming up here, and I'll go
- 3:17Speaker 4: more into that in my hot take you win these two.
- 3:20Speaker 4: You put that one in the rearview mirror so he
- 3:21Speaker 4: can be angry. And as he said, hey, look we
- 3:24Speaker 4: haven't done anything yet, and he's exactly right. But he
- 3:28Speaker 4: couldn't just lose it like a fan can, right or
- 3:32Speaker 4: a media member can and just go off. You got
- 3:35Speaker 4: to be under some control to get this team back
- 3:37Speaker 4: on the truck, because as we're about to talk about,
- 3:40Speaker 4: I'll let you go there.
- 3:41Speaker 1: All right, let's do our big things. Our first big
- 3:43Speaker 1: thing for us today is bad game or bad team.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Doug tried to sum things up after the game yesterday.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Here's what he had to say.
- 3:52Speaker 2: I thought the team was ready. We failed to execute
- 3:55Speaker 2: on the opening drive defensively, and we failed to execute
- 3:58Speaker 2: on the opening drive offensively. And that's the that's the
- 4:02Speaker 2: part that is disappointing because these guys were these guys
- 4:08Speaker 2: were ready to go.
- 4:08Speaker 5: And.
- 4:10Speaker 2: You know, to have the lack of execution like we
- 4:13Speaker 2: did early in the football game just kind of snowballed
- 4:17Speaker 2: from there.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Ran we just talked about it. You felt the team
- 4:20Speaker 1: was ready to go. Doug felt the team looked like
- 4:21Speaker 1: they were ready to go, practiced well, but they got
- 4:23Speaker 1: off track. So quickly.
- 4:25Speaker 5: Yeah, this is not a bad team.
- 4:27Speaker 4: They had a really bad game, as bad a game
- 4:29Speaker 4: as we've seen all year, as bad a game as
- 4:32Speaker 4: the first half of the Chargers game felt last year.
- 4:35Speaker 4: But they're not a bad team. That's why he didn't
- 4:36Speaker 4: see it coming. That's why we didn't see it coming.
- 4:39Speaker 4: The question has to be asked, what's wrong with this
- 4:42Speaker 4: team that in big moments Kansas City this year? You
- 4:45Speaker 4: could say the Texans because that's a divisional game and
- 4:47Speaker 4: this one at home, that you perform like that, that
- 4:52Speaker 4: you take the body blows of two scoring drives and
- 4:55Speaker 4: two three and outs and you can't recover. I just
- 4:59Speaker 4: that's what everyone's asked in themselves this morning. How do
- 5:01Speaker 4: you get that result? And I'm not sure that anyone
- 5:05Speaker 4: can answer it well.
- 5:06Speaker 3: I think Doug again during his presser, talked a little
- 5:10Speaker 3: bit about, you know, executing poorly on the first two
- 5:16Speaker 3: drives offensively and defensively. The first two drives offense, we
- 5:22Speaker 3: don't know what's called, so it's hard to know exactly
- 5:25Speaker 3: what happened, but there were plays where it just looked
- 5:28Speaker 3: like a couple guys getting driven back into the quarterback.
- 5:31Speaker 3: There's also one play where it just looked like every
- 5:34Speaker 3: in the offensive line was going in a different direction.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Doug sort of alluded to that, well, they know how
- 5:39Speaker 3: to run that play, and I don't know which play
- 5:41Speaker 3: was talking about, but he used that phrase. So I
- 5:44Speaker 3: think they played bad early. And we all know the
- 5:48Speaker 3: forty nine ers are a team that's so good early
- 5:52Speaker 3: in the game when they're on that those couple of plays,
- 5:55Speaker 3: But there's no margin for air in the league, especially
- 5:57Speaker 3: it's a team like that. That's where it got out
- 5:59Speaker 3: of hand. Why couldn't you reel it back in? I
- 6:02Speaker 3: think they got close good drive at the end of
- 6:06Speaker 3: the first half. It felt like, Okay, we're back to
- 6:08Speaker 3: within seven, But then that mature, good, elite team that's
- 6:14Speaker 3: used to be in there does what three at the
- 6:17Speaker 3: end seven At the start of the second half, they
- 6:20Speaker 3: had the ability to make the Jaguars pay for what
- 6:24Speaker 3: they've been doing wrong for five weeks. Other teams didn't have.
- 6:27Speaker 1: That ability, and it was one of those things where
- 6:29Speaker 1: it felt worse than it actually was. At certain points
- 6:31Speaker 1: in the first half. The score like particularly they were
- 6:33Speaker 1: in the game, but it was just the feel of
- 6:35Speaker 1: it was off. And it's not a bad team and
- 6:37Speaker 1: I think that's why it gets so frustrating, because there
- 6:39Speaker 1: is talent there. If I thought they were bad, then
- 6:41Speaker 1: I wouldn't you know, I would be like, oh, well,
- 6:43Speaker 1: of course.
- 6:43Speaker 5: But Doug said they haven't done anything yet.
- 6:46Speaker 1: They have not touched so.
- 6:46Speaker 5: They're not a great team and they're not an elite team.
- 6:49Speaker 3: And he's alluded to that a couple of times this year.
- 6:51Speaker 3: That's been I think a theme of his that he's watched.
- 6:56Speaker 3: Sometimes it's not been there meaning, but I think some
- 7:00Speaker 3: times he thinks it is there. I would think that
- 7:03Speaker 3: this week these players will realize at some point from
- 7:07Speaker 3: Doug that they haven't done anything. I think that message
- 7:10Speaker 3: will be clear this week.
- 7:11Speaker 4: They're six and three, they're one game off the AFC lead. Right,
- 7:15Speaker 4: So before you start thinking all is lost, as I
- 7:17Speaker 4: heard people talking about is they were leaving last night.
- 7:20Speaker 5: Hold On still by the way.
- 7:22Speaker 6: Is our next big thing, our next big thing.
- 7:25Speaker 1: We love a site. Hold On Big thing Number two
- 7:28Speaker 1: is turnovers. We made that a key point before when
- 7:30Speaker 1: we were pret talking about the game before. What we
- 7:32Speaker 1: think the keys to victory would be not turning the
- 7:35Speaker 1: ball over. That's the problem that the Taglars have had
- 7:37Speaker 1: Leley came up to bite them yesterday, Doug talked about it.
- 7:41Speaker 7: You got to feel the pain and embarrassment of today,
- 7:45Speaker 7: and that's what it is.
- 7:46Speaker 5: It's just it's terrible.
- 7:47Speaker 7: You know, it's one of the worst games I've probably
- 7:49Speaker 7: played in my career. So you know, I feel that
- 7:52Speaker 7: and I take responsibility for that. And yeah, it's just
- 7:55Speaker 7: we couldn't do anything right today. So but you gotta
- 7:59Speaker 7: flush it too. I mean, that's the thing.
- 8:00Speaker 5: Is sucks.
- 8:02Speaker 7: What the reality is at the thirty one point loss,
- 8:04Speaker 7: And that's crazy to even say, but thirty one point
- 8:07Speaker 7: loss the same is a three point loss, and we
- 8:08Speaker 7: lost today and we got to move on. We're the
- 8:11Speaker 7: same team we were five hours ago when we came
- 8:14Speaker 7: in here today, and we didn't play like it today.
- 8:16Speaker 7: We played terrible, just across the board, including myself. So
- 8:21Speaker 7: that's where we're at. That's the reality of it. Yeah,
- 8:23Speaker 7: you're gonna we're gonna wallow in it tonight and we're
- 8:25Speaker 7: gonna watch the tape tomorrow and kind of relive it,
- 8:27Speaker 7: which is which is gonna suck, and then we're gonna
- 8:29Speaker 7: move on. We're gonna get ready for Tennessee. I mean,
- 8:31Speaker 7: that's that's the biggest fame of year is our next one.
- 8:34Speaker 1: So that's Trevor going over some of his issues yesterday,
- 8:37Speaker 1: and he owned it. John. I'll give him full credit
- 8:39Speaker 1: for not that he doesn't ever take ownership of what
- 8:41Speaker 1: he does, but you do want to hear that from
- 8:43Speaker 1: your quarterback when they play bad and own it and
- 8:45Speaker 1: kind of try to move forward from that.
- 8:46Speaker 3: Yeah, And I don't know if it's accurate that the
- 8:50Speaker 3: turnovers quote cost them that game. The game was getting
- 8:54Speaker 3: away already when they started committing the turnours. But in
- 8:59Speaker 3: the NFL, when you don't turn the ball over, you
- 9:02Speaker 3: give yourself a chance to get back in it. And
- 9:04Speaker 3: that's what they took away from themselves. I thought was
- 9:07Speaker 3: we've all seen amazing comebacks. This team had amazing comebacks
- 9:10Speaker 3: last year where you thought they were out of it.
- 9:13Speaker 3: If Christian doesn't fumble that ball down near the goal line,
- 9:16Speaker 3: now it's a ten point game, probably against Frisco against
- 9:19Speaker 3: San Francisco. You don't pull that back in, but you
- 9:22Speaker 3: never know. So I thought Trevor's game, I though it's
- 9:28Speaker 3: comments about himself maybe weren't so much about the turnovers,
- 9:31Speaker 3: but just about the overall play. I don't think he
- 9:32Speaker 3: was very good yesterday, even without the turnovers, but I
- 9:35Speaker 3: think some of that was what was going on up front.
- 9:37Speaker 4: Well, the score got away from him because of that.
- 9:39Speaker 4: You know, after the first two turnovers, Trevor's fumble in
- 9:41Speaker 4: the interception, they held him to no points. They made
- 9:43Speaker 4: the punt back to the Jaguars. In fact, after Trevor's
- 9:45Speaker 4: fumble where he was sacked by Nick Bosa, that was
- 9:49Speaker 4: where the Jaguars got the ball to one yard line
- 9:50Speaker 4: and then went and got the field goal.
- 9:52Speaker 5: So the defense stepped up there.
- 9:54Speaker 4: But it was the other two turnovers that they were
- 9:56Speaker 4: able to turn into points and pull the score away
- 10:00Speaker 4: and overs in the last five games, now right, I
- 10:01Speaker 4: mean that is completely unsustainable, and I said it last week.
- 10:05Speaker 4: They were able to get away with it against the
- 10:07Speaker 4: Colts and the Saints and the Steelers who were not
- 10:09Speaker 4: playing in an elite level San Francisco, Cincinnati, Baltimore. The
- 10:14Speaker 4: better teams will do that to you. The turnovers have
- 10:19Speaker 4: to be fixed. That's obvious, and I don't know how
- 10:21Speaker 4: you change it. I also want to say Trevors should
- 10:24Speaker 4: never have thrown that ball that went through tank blacks
- 10:26Speaker 4: or tank black, tank Bigsby's hands shouldn't have thrown it.
- 10:29Speaker 4: I mean, big speed. Even if he catches it and
- 10:31Speaker 4: it was rifled to him. Even if he catches it,
- 10:34Speaker 4: he is five yards shy of the six at some point.
- 10:38Speaker 4: Just take the sack punt and keep playing. That is
- 10:41Speaker 4: the next level for him. When we talk about him
- 10:43Speaker 4: not being the elite yet, that's the next level. Don't
- 10:46Speaker 4: give them the ball at midfield, just know.
- 10:49Speaker 3: Well and the thumb will take care of it. Yeah,
- 10:52Speaker 3: and you know he said, why don't talk about Trivors
- 10:55Speaker 3: turnoversh We didn't talk about Trevors turnovers. One reason we
- 11:00Speaker 3: don't spend a lot of time talking about it is
- 11:02Speaker 3: I don't know how you suggest fixing it, because it's
- 11:06Speaker 3: really just a matter of Christian Kirk ironically said last week,
- 11:11Speaker 3: just concentrating in the moment. He fell victim to it
- 11:17Speaker 3: again yesterday. It's an odd little trend going on right now.
- 11:22Speaker 3: It's not little, but it really is threatening to define
- 11:26Speaker 3: the season. And I wouldn't have thought that was going
- 11:28Speaker 3: to be the case for the season.
- 11:29Speaker 4: I mean, they came into the game leading the league
- 11:30Speaker 4: with eighteen takeaways, and now they've got seventeen giveaways.
- 11:33Speaker 5: To go with it.
- 11:34Speaker 4: So I mean, you're negating the effort that your defense
- 11:37Speaker 4: has given you. In in all fairness to Trevor, he couldn't
- 11:42Speaker 4: set his feet yesterday. He was under a relentless attack
- 11:45Speaker 4: and the Jaguars offensive line did not play a good game.
- 11:48Speaker 4: When we expected that we might see that with Walker
- 11:51Speaker 4: Little in the lineup and what we expected from the
- 11:54Speaker 4: beginning of the season, he never had a chance to
- 11:56Speaker 4: settle his feed. I don't think it's fair enough to
- 11:58Speaker 4: me to interpret that he panicked, but it looked at times.
- 12:02Speaker 5: Like it was. Uh oh, I would have yeah, I
- 12:04Speaker 5: would have too.
- 12:05Speaker 1: I mean this is the first of all the starting
- 12:08Speaker 1: offensive line when this is what they wanted their offensive
- 12:10Speaker 1: line to look like, and it was one of the
- 12:11Speaker 1: worst games we've seen them play. Our final big thing
- 12:14Speaker 1: this week is the panic button. Is it time to panic?
- 12:17Speaker 1: I think we've kind of talked through that a little bit,
- 12:19Speaker 1: but Frime's not panic button time. You got to reset.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Use this as a moment. We talked a lot about
- 12:24Speaker 1: last year. That Detroit game was a reset moment. You
- 12:26Speaker 1: got a reset up to this quickly.
- 12:27Speaker 4: I'm going to hit on this in my hot take,
- 12:29Speaker 4: but you win the next two games against Tennessee and Houston,
- 12:33Speaker 4: and it will not be easy based on what we
- 12:34Speaker 4: saw yesterday. But if you win the next two games,
- 12:36Speaker 4: you forget this when you put it in the review mirror.
- 12:38Speaker 4: The Cowboys got their doors blown off by the San
- 12:40Speaker 4: Francisco team while we were in London on Sunday night
- 12:43Speaker 4: football forty two to ten. Tony Dungee told me when
- 12:46Speaker 4: he was here last month it was one of the
- 12:48Speaker 4: most dominant performances he had seen in recent years. And
- 12:51Speaker 4: yet they got back dusted themselves off. They've won three
- 12:54Speaker 4: of four. They could have won four or four. They
- 12:55Speaker 4: could have won in Philadelphia if not for Dak Prescott
- 12:58Speaker 4: stepping out of bounds. You can rebound good Detroit. They
- 13:00Speaker 4: got blown out in Baltimore thirty eight to three, a humbling,
- 13:04Speaker 4: embarrassing loss, and yet they won a big game yesterday
- 13:08Speaker 4: in Los Angeles, and they have won seven games.
- 13:11Speaker 5: You can do this. You can do this.
- 13:13Speaker 4: Do not panic. This is not a bad football team.
- 13:16Speaker 4: And I say do not panic. I'm not saying it
- 13:17Speaker 4: to the people who are watching this. I'm saying it
- 13:20Speaker 4: to the guys in that locker room. You can't panic.
- 13:22Speaker 4: You just have to go and do your job.
- 13:25Speaker 3: There's no point panic. I mean panicking all of a
- 13:27Speaker 3: sudden you have people in the street, I.
- 13:30Speaker 5: Mean cats and dogs living together.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Yeah, it's probably a little bit of my hot take,
- 13:35Speaker 3: but there's not that many takes to have off this game,
- 13:37Speaker 3: so if I overlap a little bit. They've been really
- 13:39Speaker 3: good under Doug At responding to things like this. They
- 13:43Speaker 3: won five straight after Detroit last year, five straight after
- 13:46Speaker 3: Houston this year. To me, there's no reason, based on
- 13:50Speaker 3: what I've seen from this team for the nine games,
- 13:52Speaker 3: there's no reason to think that there were the last
- 13:55Speaker 3: eight this year that they can't get five or six.
- 13:59Speaker 3: They've done it before just because you do that. Yes, No,
- 14:02Speaker 3: there's no reason to panic. What you wonder is how
- 14:06Speaker 3: do you fix the things they're talking about fixing when
- 14:08Speaker 3: you haven't done it through nine games. That's why they
- 14:11Speaker 3: do what they do for a living. It's their job
- 14:12Speaker 3: to fix it.
- 14:13Speaker 1: I think the defense masked a lot of those issues
- 14:15Speaker 1: for them so far this season, so we'll have to
- 14:17Speaker 1: go over those things. Not a lot of highlights, but
- 14:19Speaker 1: we're gonna look at the tape coming up after the break.

- 15:00Speaker 1: Karen Jagsam, My dog had to listen to me rewatching
- 15:02Speaker 1: some of the film yesterday and all the profanities coming
- 15:05Speaker 1: out of my mouth, so I'm sure he was a
- 15:06Speaker 1: little startled to what was going on. Not a lot
- 15:09Speaker 1: of highlights to go over, guys, but we do have
- 15:11Speaker 1: some stuff we want to look at from yesterday. Some
- 15:13Speaker 1: of the key things we talked about, but turnovers, and
- 15:16Speaker 1: I think just the way some of them came about
- 15:19Speaker 1: was what I was shocked by because we talked so
- 15:22Speaker 1: much about protecting the football and they've felt like they
- 15:24Speaker 1: had turned a corner in some respects, but it really
- 15:26Speaker 1: reared its head yesterday.
- 15:27Speaker 4: Well, the Christian Kirk one is the hardest one to
- 15:30Speaker 4: watch because with just over five minutes left to play,
- 15:33Speaker 4: you've got an opportunity to put yourself, you know, within
- 15:37Speaker 4: ten points, and that one took it away. But all
- 15:40Speaker 4: of them are difficult because for in a game, the
- 15:43Speaker 4: most in the season take you to seventeen on the year,
- 15:47Speaker 4: and there's not many teams you're going to be when
- 15:49Speaker 4: you turn the ball over four times, but not a
- 15:51Speaker 4: team like that.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Yeah, the last one was a fourth down. We're just
- 15:55Speaker 3: going it down the field. So whenever the I think
- 16:00Speaker 3: the one that has to start working on is the
- 16:05Speaker 3: funnels in the pocket. I think Trevor's got what thirteen
- 16:09Speaker 3: turnovers this year? I think are quote his so that
- 16:15Speaker 3: you're giving field position away, which they did a lot yesterday.
- 16:19Speaker 3: The field position was a big deal early in the game,
- 16:22Speaker 3: and I didn't have to drive as far as other
- 16:24Speaker 3: offenses we're having to drive. The defense did a great job
- 16:27Speaker 3: after that turnover of of sort of reeling it back in.
- 16:32Speaker 3: That's loose callous disregard for the ball had a good
- 16:37Speaker 3: way back in, which is what Tom's old phrase was,
- 16:40Speaker 3: and it drives coach as crazy as than it should
- 16:43Speaker 3: because you can't win doing that.
- 16:44Speaker 1: You have to be played with the whistle too. I mean,
- 16:46Speaker 1: the thing that got me on the Christian Kirk one
- 16:47Speaker 1: was just the optics of him completely giving up on
- 16:50Speaker 1: the play as they turn around and run it back.
- 16:52Speaker 1: And yeah, they got bailed out because the forty nine
- 16:53Speaker 1: ers came on the field. Otherwise they would have been
- 16:55Speaker 1: a touchdown. And it kills me because it's Christian Kirk,
- 16:57Speaker 1: who's one of the best character guys in the team.
- 16:59Speaker 1: He doesn't do and he does it in a terrible moment,
- 17:01Speaker 1: and it's the one of the second or third times
- 17:03Speaker 1: we've seen something thats in the Colts game we had
- 17:05Speaker 1: to play with Tank and you're like, oh, it's the
- 17:06Speaker 1: young guys and they're not following up and playing to
- 17:08Speaker 1: the whistle and they run that ball back and that
- 17:10Speaker 1: looked ridiculous and I'm seeing it again.
- 17:12Speaker 4: Wouldn't you hate to be in that meeting room, the
- 17:15Speaker 4: offensive meeting room this morning when this play gets run
- 17:18Speaker 4: over and over and over again.
- 17:20Speaker 1: They need to see it and they need to get
- 17:21Speaker 1: mad because I watched that, and I get mad. Other
- 17:24Speaker 1: than Evan Ingram and your quarterback running all the way.
- 17:26Speaker 5: Yeah, that says something.
- 17:27Speaker 1: I'll tell you that. I will say after watching that,
- 17:30Speaker 1: that did make me feel better about that effort. But
- 17:32Speaker 1: the beginning of it.
- 17:33Speaker 4: Just everyone you're eating in that meeting room is going
- 17:35Speaker 4: to see Trevor Lawrence the leader, running all the way
- 17:38Speaker 4: down the field and thinking a tackle that had the
- 17:40Speaker 4: Niners upset right diving at the guy at the end,
- 17:43Speaker 4: But it doesn't matter the quarterback ran it down.
- 17:46Speaker 1: You should to Let's look at some of those sex.
- 17:49Speaker 1: We've talked a lot about the offensive line, but some
- 17:51Speaker 1: of that, I mean, I'm not a professional football player.
- 17:54Speaker 1: I'm not going to pretend I know what they're scheming
- 17:55Speaker 1: out there, but that was frustrating to watch. Trevor never
- 17:58Speaker 1: felt safe there. And then some of the decisions he
- 18:01Speaker 1: was making based off that didn't look great either.
- 18:04Speaker 3: Well it looked not to blame one person, but Walker
- 18:08Speaker 3: Little got pushed back a few times. And but it
- 18:15Speaker 3: wasn't just one guy. It just looked in this game
- 18:20Speaker 3: like the forty nine Ers front was more big and
- 18:24Speaker 3: powerful than the Jaguars from And maybe that wasn't what
- 18:27Speaker 3: it was, but that's what it appeared. I think from
- 18:31Speaker 3: what Doug said in the presser, there were always there
- 18:33Speaker 3: were also some plays early where they just weren't executing right.
- 18:37Speaker 3: So you say, well they can't block them, they can't. Well,
- 18:39Speaker 3: if you're not doing what's called right, then that's gonna
- 18:42Speaker 3: be more difficult too. It's so difficult to analyze something
- 18:47Speaker 3: like this because it's so clearly everything going wrong.
- 18:51Speaker 4: But I thought that the rookie right tackle had his
- 18:56Speaker 4: day with Joey Bullsha. But you know when Bosham made
- 18:58Speaker 4: the most pressures came from different spots. They lined him
- 19:01Speaker 4: up over the center at times because they had identified
- 19:04Speaker 4: a spot that had.
- 19:05Speaker 5: Been pushed back a lot this year. Right.
- 19:07Speaker 4: So it's not like you can just say, well, the
- 19:09Speaker 4: rookie right tackle struggled. When you look at the tape,
- 19:12Speaker 4: when you watch it again, you see that it was
- 19:14Speaker 4: everybody that struggled. And there were times where you would
- 19:17Speaker 4: see both left tackles, both offensive tackles standing. They're watching
- 19:21Speaker 4: I mean light of the whistle at least, right, which
- 19:23Speaker 4: is something that they're going to be yelled at about
- 19:26Speaker 4: and will I mean, these guys are professional football players.
- 19:29Speaker 5: They'll get yelled at today.
- 19:31Speaker 4: And then they'll have to watch the tape again and
- 19:34Speaker 4: they'll it'll be in their head that I gotta come
- 19:36Speaker 4: play better.
- 19:36Speaker 1: And it should be. Stay with us. After the break,
- 19:39Speaker 1: we're gonna go over some of our hot takes for
- 19:40Speaker 1: this team here in jacks Am. Daguars fans, you can

- 20:07Speaker 1: move the freight, Move the fraight. Magellan Transport voted the
- 20:09Speaker 1: coolest office base in Jacksonville. You can apply online at
- 20:12Speaker 1: Magellanlogistics dot com. Back here on jags Am presented by Carshield,
- 20:17Speaker 1: we're in the Hundai studios and we're gonna go over
- 20:19Speaker 1: some of our hot takes. I think it's I don't
- 20:22Speaker 1: know if probably all on the same page with some
- 20:23Speaker 1: of our hot takes. But what's your hot take? Brian?
- 20:25Speaker 3: Well?
- 20:25Speaker 4: The AFC South Title Game will be two weeks from
- 20:29Speaker 4: yesterday in Houston.
- 20:31Speaker 5: I mean Look, the goal of this season is to
- 20:34Speaker 5: win the division.
- 20:35Speaker 4: Which ensures you a playoff game and if you do
- 20:38Speaker 4: well enough, a home playoff game.
- 20:40Speaker 5: So for these guys to win the division is the key.
- 20:43Speaker 4: You're what two and one in the division now, and
- 20:47Speaker 4: in the next two weeks you can get to four
- 20:49Speaker 4: and one. You would be split with the Texans, you
- 20:53Speaker 4: would have one game advantage and look the Titans at
- 20:55Speaker 4: the end of the year with a rookie quarterback. You
- 20:57Speaker 4: win the division if you win these next two games
- 20:59Speaker 4: and you accompli a major goal for yourself for this season.
- 21:03Speaker 4: So think about these next two weeks as being the
- 21:06Speaker 4: whole season. Don't be thinking about primetime in December, you
- 21:09Speaker 4: know in the Bengals and the Ravens. Next two weeks
- 21:12Speaker 4: tell the story. And if you win the next two
- 21:13Speaker 4: weeks and get yourself to eight and three with the
- 21:16Speaker 4: division title pretty.
- 21:17Speaker 5: Much in your back pocket, you put this one behind you.
- 21:20Speaker 3: Here's how crazy this league is. If they don't sweep
- 21:25Speaker 3: the Colts, it's basically a three way time for first
- 21:28Speaker 3: place right now. So as rand about the Colts, and
- 21:32Speaker 3: it kind of said, well, those wins don't matter. The
- 21:34Speaker 3: Colts are bad.
- 21:35Speaker 5: Five and five.
- 21:35Speaker 3: Well, the Colts. If you don't beat the Colts, Colts
- 21:37Speaker 3: are seven and three and lead the division. So I
- 21:40Speaker 3: don't think the Colts are a great team. But my
- 21:42Speaker 3: point is that's how much these division games swing things.
- 21:49Speaker 3: Your sweep with the Colts has put the perception that
- 21:52Speaker 3: they're bad and they're away in your rear view. The
- 21:54Speaker 3: only two games out beat the Texans and the Titans.
- 21:56Speaker 3: Exactly what Brian's talking about. All of a sudden, you
- 21:59Speaker 3: feel like you feel good about yourself again.
- 22:02Speaker 1: John. We're gonna talk about your hot TAKEE because it's
- 22:04Speaker 1: about following up that performance we saw. Yeah, not only
- 22:08Speaker 1: do you need to win, you need to play very
- 22:09Speaker 1: well next game.
- 22:10Speaker 3: Well, it's what I talked about earlier. The worst loss
- 22:15Speaker 3: will require the best response is the worst loss to
- 22:17Speaker 3: Doug Peterson era. It's even it. It's probably not that
- 22:21Speaker 3: much different than the Detroit loss last year, where you
- 22:24Speaker 3: just came out of it think, well, this seems not
- 22:25Speaker 3: going anywhere. The Houston loss sort of the same thing.
- 22:28Speaker 3: Earlier this year they won five in or after both
- 22:31Speaker 3: of those games. This will take your best response because
- 22:36Speaker 3: I think the expectations going into this were so much
- 22:40Speaker 3: different and now it's gonna take your best response because
- 22:43Speaker 3: you're going into your toughest stretch, not necessarily this game,
- 22:48Speaker 3: but the stretch ahead. If you look at it on paper,
- 22:52Speaker 3: the Texans have an easier schedule than the Jaguars or
- 22:54Speaker 3: the next four or five games the Jaguars. I think
- 22:57Speaker 3: most people looking at it objectively would say they're gonna
- 23:00Speaker 3: have to sort of catch the Texans a little bit
- 23:04Speaker 3: because the Texans schedule, except for the Jaguars, the Broncos
- 23:07Speaker 3: are on there. There are teams with less than five
- 23:09Speaker 3: hundred records. Derero's played a lot of good teams coming up.
- 23:12Speaker 3: They have to go prove themselves again. Doug Peterson talked
- 23:16Speaker 3: last week about it not being a proved game, well,
- 23:19Speaker 3: in the NFL, I think he would rephrase that now.
- 23:22Speaker 3: I don't think he necessarily meant that. In the NFL
- 23:26Speaker 3: are all proved games, and they're gonna be proven games
- 23:28Speaker 3: for this team going forward.
- 23:29Speaker 4: Now, always tell my kids, it isn't what happens to you,
- 23:32Speaker 4: it's what you do about it, right. I mean, that's
- 23:34Speaker 4: a truism in life. It is about your response. And
- 23:38Speaker 4: I am sure that that is a message that will
- 23:40Speaker 4: resonate in these hallways throughout the course of the week.
- 23:43Speaker 5: How do you respond?
- 23:46Speaker 4: I asked Ug yesterday news news conference, if the Niners
- 23:49Speaker 4: were truly a desperate team, right, they're a good team
- 23:52Speaker 4: as we saw, But if they're truly a desperate team,
- 23:54Speaker 4: do you want your team to come out and play desperate?
- 23:57Speaker 4: And the answer is no. You don't want him to
- 23:59Speaker 4: play desperate because it sounds like you're just heaving it
- 24:02Speaker 4: all over the place. But you want there to be
- 24:04Speaker 4: an air of desperation like we have have to show
- 24:09Speaker 4: ourselves and our fans that we are not that team.
- 24:12Speaker 4: They are desperate to prove to themselves how good they
- 24:17Speaker 4: can be. Okay, well, you get it against the Titans
- 24:20Speaker 4: team who came in with Joshua Dobbs last year on
- 24:22Speaker 4: a six game losing streaky and took you to the brink.
- 24:25Speaker 5: This is not the same Titans team.
- 24:27Speaker 4: They've got some good players on defense, and Derrick Henry
- 24:30Speaker 4: has shown this year given the right circumstances, he can
- 24:33Speaker 4: make things easy on whoever's the quarterback, you better buckle up.
- 24:37Speaker 1: My hot take this week is it's going to be
- 24:39Speaker 1: a big week for the offense because if Day Joson
- 24:41Speaker 1: could return. I have hope for this offense. I have
- 24:43Speaker 1: not seen this offense do anything that I found proficient
- 24:48Speaker 1: except maybe Travis etnet points all buys lonesome to give
- 24:51Speaker 1: me any hope for this offense right now. I came
- 24:53Speaker 1: into the season, we all had very high hopes, high scoring,
- 24:56Speaker 1: you know, maybe one of the best in the league,
- 24:58Speaker 1: but they haven't been able to get it done. We've
- 24:59Speaker 1: talked about playing a crucial role on third down, or
- 25:02Speaker 1: just being that quick out a target for Trevor that
- 25:04Speaker 1: he trusts, and they miss him. Not only that, the
- 25:07Speaker 1: lack of communication we've been seeing on offense. There's plays
- 25:10Speaker 1: yesterday where you know, he's messing things up with Christian Kirk,
- 25:13Speaker 1: one of his other safety targets, if you will, and
- 25:16Speaker 1: things just don't look right. And maybe the playbook is
- 25:19Speaker 1: centered too much about what Jay Jones brings to them,
- 25:21Speaker 1: but they haven't evolved with that to this point. We're
- 25:24Speaker 1: ten weeks in. It's a little late for me to say,
- 25:26Speaker 1: you know it's gonna happen, It's gonna happen until Jay
- 25:28Speaker 1: Jones returns. I don't think we're gonna see much unless
- 25:30Speaker 1: they completely flip this thing around.
- 25:31Speaker 4: And who would have ever thought that in a year
- 25:34Speaker 4: that you add Calvin Ridley to the offense, that we
- 25:38Speaker 4: would be talking about Jay Jones being one of the
- 25:39Speaker 4: most important parts of it. John, We've been talking about,
- 25:44Speaker 4: you know, what this defense might look like without Treyvon Walker, who,
- 25:47Speaker 4: by the way, maybe played his best game as a
- 25:49Speaker 4: pro yesterday. He was collapsing the pocket, hitting the quarterback.
- 25:53Speaker 4: But we can't talk about that because they came up
- 25:55Speaker 4: thirty four points, but he played really well. You don't
- 25:59Speaker 4: want to see what this d defence looks like without
- 26:01Speaker 4: Treyvon Walker. Well, we're seeing how important Jay Jones is
- 26:04Speaker 4: by his absence.
- 26:06Speaker 3: Yeah, And I think it's it's more subtle than it is.
- 26:10Speaker 3: You know, the Vikings lose Justin Jefferson for example, and
- 26:15Speaker 3: you know, you know, can't go to that guy. I
- 26:17Speaker 3: think Zay's impact is more subtle. But I think it's
- 26:22Speaker 3: really really important, and I think it's really important on
- 26:24Speaker 3: those key plays. It's such a game of plays and moments.
- 26:29Speaker 3: They didn't convert either of their first two third down
- 26:32Speaker 3: opportunities yesterday. They haven't been as good on third down.
- 26:36Speaker 3: You convert two more of those a game and doesn't
- 26:40Speaker 3: sound like a lot, but convert one early yesterday all
- 26:45Speaker 3: of a sudden that games you're not as tilted in
- 26:48Speaker 3: the other direction as you were, so a few plays
- 26:52Speaker 3: can make a difference.
- 26:52Speaker 1: In z A.
- 26:53Speaker 3: Jones has a tendency to make a few plays a
- 26:54Speaker 3: game sure does.
- 26:56Speaker 1: Stay with us. Coming up, we're gonna preview what we
- 26:57Speaker 1: got going on the rest of the week here on
- 26:59Speaker 1: jack XAM. Welcome back to jag Vam. Jags fans. If

- 27:10Speaker 1: is furniture made for fans. I wanna take a moment
- 27:12Speaker 1: now to thank our jea's frontline teams for their critical
- 27:15Speaker 1: services they provide to this community. Today, we'd like to
- 27:18Speaker 1: recognize jaea's employee volunteers who have served over four thousand
- 27:22Speaker 1: hours this year to benefit those in need throughout our community.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Thank you for helping to make Northeast Florida a better place.
- 27:31Speaker 7: I think there's a there's a handful of things that
- 27:32Speaker 7: I've missed today that I have to do better, and
- 27:34Speaker 7: I just getting asked to you guys. You know i'd
- 27:36Speaker 7: I didn't play, didn't play well, and it's you're not
- 27:40Speaker 7: gonna win much in this league when when the quarterback
- 27:42Speaker 7: doesn't play well. So yeah, I gotta watch the tape
- 27:45Speaker 7: and check some of that stuff out.
- 27:48Speaker 1: Sure, so they're gonna be watching the tape today. I
- 27:50Speaker 1: wouldn't wanna be in that room either cause I have
- 27:52Speaker 1: a feeling it's not gonna go very well. But they
- 27:54Speaker 1: need to hear it right about now. This week we're
- 27:57Speaker 1: gonna hear from Traves YTN today, Rashon Jenkins today, Doug,
- 28:03Speaker 1: how much of it is? Watch the film, sit in
- 28:05Speaker 1: it for a minute, how much of it is? Okay? Yeah,
- 28:08Speaker 1: but we also got to turn the page.
- 28:09Speaker 5: It's a balance because we just talked about wanting them.
- 28:12Speaker 4: To have that desperation of some desperation, right, so you
- 28:17Speaker 4: can't entirely let go of it. But at the same time,
- 28:20Speaker 4: you got the Titans coming in here and they're bringing
- 28:22Speaker 4: in a better defense than they had a year ago.
- 28:24Speaker 4: Jeffrey Simmons I think is right there with Chris Jones
- 28:26Speaker 4: in terms of being able to blow up your game plan.
- 28:29Speaker 4: So they got a lot to focus on this week.
- 28:33Speaker 4: That's gonna be Doug's balance right, he's the head coach.
- 28:36Speaker 4: He's got to find a way to get this team
- 28:38Speaker 4: to play on that razor's edge of angry about the
- 28:41Speaker 4: way that they played.
- 28:42Speaker 5: Focused on the next two games.
- 28:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't worry about their mental approach, mainly because
- 28:49Speaker 3: of Doug. I thought yesterday and the press conraence, he
- 28:51Speaker 3: handled it well. It's always impressive when he's asked something
- 28:54Speaker 3: tough after a game, he'll pause a second and think
- 28:57Speaker 3: about it because he knows he wants to say the
- 29:02Speaker 3: right things. You know, is that sets a tone?
- 29:04Speaker 1: Uh?
- 29:04Speaker 3: I don't. I don't worry about I'm stting a tone.
- 29:06Speaker 3: I and I think there are players in this locker room.
- 29:09Speaker 3: It's a veteran enough locker room. They've responded to this before.
- 29:13Speaker 5: Uh.
- 29:14Speaker 3: I think. I don't think that will be their issue
- 29:17Speaker 3: going forward. I think it'll be more can you stop
- 29:20Speaker 3: doing the things frankly, offensively that have gotten me in
- 29:23Speaker 3: so much trouble that they continue to bite you. I
- 29:26Speaker 3: think it remains more about execution than anything else.
- 29:29Speaker 1: Execution acknowledging the mistakes. We're gonna turn the page on
- 29:32Speaker 1: Jagsam starting on Wednesday, so we'll see then
