- 0:13Chatcha shat drama Darling. Oh, hello, everybody, welcome back. It's
- 0:19drama, Darling. How's it going, everybody? It's Tuesday. It is
- 0:24September twenty sixth. Just thought a bit shout out to the twenty sixth anyone
- 0:31whose birthday it is today? Happy birthday, Darling. So today we're doing
- 0:36Below Deck Mediterranean. Emilydesis is here. Hi, am hi. As you
- 0:42pointed out, we're both wearing Maroon. I don't know. I don't know
- 0:45how that worked. You know what, We're just on the same page today,
- 0:49we're on the same page. We do have a little bit of serving
- 0:52dish to discuss. I got a couple of things to chat about then,
- 0:54and we're going to talk about Below Deck Med's. Oh, what's your things
- 1:00with some dish? Who's there? Someone's at the door. It's Kim Selcieg.
- 1:07Hey, haters, I'm here, what's up, haters? I'm still
- 1:11in my house. This is so this news just kills me. TMC is
- 1:15reporting. This is the exclusive that Kim headline dismiss the divorce. We're having
- 1:23a ton of sex. Judge so, according to TMZ, Kim is firing
- 1:29back at Kroi, claiming that his latest divorce petition is a sham and wants
- 1:33to get it tossed because they're still having a lot of sex. She says
- 1:38that she's been repeatedly banging my strange husband ever since he filed for divorce from
- 1:46her for the second time, and Kim says that kroix claim that the marriage
- 1:52is I retrievidally broken is bogus though, according to her, because how can
- 1:57it be broken if they're still doing it? Damn so weird to me.
- 2:02I don't understand how she keeps releasing statements like without him and then his statements
- 2:10are so opposite. I know, it's it's very it's confusing. I assume
- 2:17there's lawyers involved that are really pissed or entertainment. I mean, this is
- 2:23this is certainly something for us, and it is like every other day.
- 2:27I could have sworn I saw something about like Croy maybe he was gonna do
- 2:31some sort of strip show in Vegas. Oh, so did you see that.
- 2:37I didn't even dig into it. I haven't even had time because this
- 2:39news just bumped that right out of there. So It's like I can't keep
- 2:44up with the ping pong. I'm going every other every other story is what
- 2:47I'll report. At this level, you almost have to. And I can't
- 2:52believe how relevant that they are being treated in the press, like as though
- 2:59they I mean, because they aren't that relevant. No, but this is
- 3:04bonkers. That's probably why, I guess. But like you know, at
- 3:07some point cut and run. Yes, I guess, maybe because Kim keeps
- 3:14releasing statements. Hell yeah, if I'm TMZ, why am I still?
- 3:20It must get clicks, That's what it is. The story must get clicks.
- 3:23I love going to stories on Instagram and seeing the post and then going
- 3:29straight to comments and then people are like, uh, can someone just tell
- 3:34me what happens? I don't have to click? Can you do me as
- 3:37solid? Or someone will be like, don't waste it, I'll tell you
- 3:40and then they just spill it. It's so funny. I just the comment
- 3:44sections and certain things are just so funny. People are equally as horrible as
- 3:49they are brilliant. That's what I found, you know, with the internets
- 3:53and such. Anyway, in other news, Deadline has reported that it turns
- 3:59out and Universal has in fact strengthened their workplace conduct guidelines for reality shows.
- 4:05So Francis Berwin has released a statement and essentially some guidelines and sent them all
- 4:14out to all of the production companies that work for Bravo and she oh,
- 4:20by the way, she's the NBC Universal chairman, and so she sent this
- 4:28letter out to external production companies to inform the inform them of the changes.
- 4:33And the first point is about alcohol, building on their current this is building
- 4:40on our current protocols. We will require that you deliver an expanded alcohol related
- 4:44training to the cast, crew and production team, which must include details on
- 4:47how production will monitor alcohol, including when consumption limits may be appropriate and when
- 4:54and how to intervene to maintain cast and crew safety. So that is one
- 5:00point. Also, there's some stuff here about psychological well being. The company
- 5:08already requires all reality participants to meet with a psychologist prior to filming and are
- 5:13provided with a with psychological support during and after filming to the extent needed,
- 5:17and some shows are required to have on site psychological support. So that was
- 5:24the case before. Now there must be psychological care after filming that includes mental
- 5:31health support to cast through the airing of the show and beyond, including mandatory
- 5:38on set support during reunion tapings. Oh my god, reunion tapings. Wow,
- 5:44almost like a almost like antimacy coordinator for them, like in that like
- 5:51like coaching them through how to get through a reunion kind of thing. Yeah,
- 5:57or like you know, a boxing match when you go off and you
- 6:00meet with your coach and they I want to coach, I want to coach,
- 6:02give your massage. They slap you in the face a little, they
- 6:06spray some water on your wounds, they open your eyes, they shake you
- 6:11a little bit, and they're like, are you ready. I'm not going
- 6:13to put you back in the ring until you can see straight. You know
- 6:15what would be awesome is if they actually cover the coaching and then the coaches
- 6:23also get into it because they disagree about their coaching styles. I mean that
- 6:29will make the reunions five parts. And I'm fine with that. I think
- 6:35that at this point, what like if that's going to be the case and
- 6:40instead of exploiting that, like good little reality, whoors we are? That's
- 6:46right where we went? But your face is like excuse me, I'm like
- 6:49yeah, aha, sure, yes, I am, okay, that's me.
- 6:56What would make it to feel and I don't feel that. Yes,
- 7:01I think the best way to do this in order for it to not be
- 7:05exploited both by the cameras and by the actual reality stars, because they would
- 7:14exploit that too. Let's not put it past him. Ten spiritual gurus,
- 7:17right, and not one of them has ever corracked a psychology book. But
- 7:23I think it should be behind closed doors, you know what I mean,
- 7:26Like, Okay, this person is in the psychological warfare the vault room,
- 7:31right, so like they need to get themselves together and no cameras allowed,
- 7:36No one gets to go in there. They come out when they're ready type
- 7:40of situation. Honestly, that is great too, because what we all really
- 7:46wish would happen at these reunions deep down when the blowouts happen in the season,
- 7:51and we all wish these people would see the light. And if there
- 7:58is a coach there, because Andy's not ever really gonna be like, hey,
- 8:03you're contradicting yourself. Well, he does, but they still don't listen.
- 8:07Well, he doesn't lean in as hard as I would like on some
- 8:11professional on some reunions, he does on others. He's like I can't with
- 8:15this right, right, It goes blue in the face. But I really
- 8:18think having somebody there on site to be like Teresa, No, they won't
- 8:22get through. They won't get through either. There's no I would And I'm
- 8:26then so why I'm saying bravo, let me add it. I am a
- 8:28train. You will run screaming and pounding your head against the wall. No
- 8:35one will ever penetrate. Certain real I will come to the reunion dressed in
- 8:41the appropriate color gown as a coach, and I'll have a bag of props
- 8:48for people to use. But like soft you know, squishballs and you know,
- 8:54yeah not you know, megaphones and binders, Well they are helpful.
- 9:03I think I would love to coach a coach if I may be so bold,
- 9:09and I will be okay. By the way, this is like the
- 9:13oldest trick in the book in terms of, hey, we're going to regulate
- 9:18ourselves so you don't have to whoever. Like this is like the NPA back
- 9:26when the studio systems were like going out the studio. Yeah, the Motion
- 9:33Picture Association back in the day when when they created the rating system and everything,
- 9:39that was like the studios being like, hey, we don't need to
- 9:41be regulated here we'll handle it and then they kind of like control it.
- 9:46So hopefully sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't. In other industries not so
- 9:52much like for example, the stock market, but hopefully it works to reality
- 9:56TV. Well, we'll see. They're also asking for enhanced workplace training specifically
- 10:03tailored to unscripted production environment, and all principles of production companies, including those
- 10:09that only occasionally interact with cast and crew, will be required to attend training.
- 10:13It also implements more serious consequences for physical violence on set. So and
- 10:22then also what else is in here enhanced communication between the production companies and mandatory
- 10:28on set production company HR okay, oh yeah. And then finally this is
- 10:37in specific this is almost addressing specifically about Bethany's point about the NDAs. You
- 10:45know, with her whole case here, one of her things was that she
- 10:50thought that the NDAs were unrealistic. So NBC Universal and Bravo in particular has
- 10:56made it clear that it's confidential. Confidential reality clauses are not intended to prevent
- 11:01disclosure by cast and crew of unlawful acts in the workplace, and says that
- 11:05it has not enforced them in that manner, and that in quotes Francis Berwick
- 11:11says, we expect that production companies will ensure that all talent and crew agreements
- 11:16have confidentiality language that carves out reporting of unlawful conduct. So that has been
- 11:24addressed there in closedals that yet, no, this is only conduct guidelines,
- 11:33got it. We believe our standards have promoted a safer and more respectful work
- 11:37environment. That said, we want to take the opportunity, in collaboration with
- 11:41the production companies to continue to strengthen our approach. To that end, we
- 11:45have developed additional resources policies and protocols that will further enhance the workplace environments on
- 11:50our third party productions and will strengthen our oversight. So that's what that letter
- 11:56essentially was. That's certainly a step in the right direct for the cause in
- 12:01which I know Bethany was standing for and a lot of reality stars were up
- 12:07against supporting this. So yeah, because I've also I love that they have
- 12:11something to pre like almost train you mentally to be one of these shows,
- 12:16because that when you it is kind of like a relliant. It's a sport
- 12:22almost to be on reality TV, just to have the stamina to be able
- 12:26to handle the hours and hours and hours of filming, but how can you
- 12:31train? I mean, this is the thing. I think it's great that
- 12:33they have these guidelines, but is this really I think the most important takeaway,
- 12:39at least for me, is like the intervention on set when something is
- 12:46going left. And case in point with the recent controversy that happened in Jersey
- 12:52between Jennifer and Danielle, and Danielle apparently had a crumpled up cup and threw
- 12:58it at Jennifer's face. Now it was glass, Well, I don't believe
- 13:03it was. I think it was. I think it was a cup.
- 13:07It said it was a cup in the article, and then I saw something
- 13:11else that was a crumpled up cup. It didn't say that it was a
- 13:13glass, right, it was probably a jagged, crumpled up cup. I'm
- 13:18just this is allegedly, assuming I have no clue what it was a lot
- 13:22of force. But like, well, think about when that plastic cup that
- 13:28Ramona threw it at kristin takeman in the like a solo cup or something a
- 13:33plastic cup. Yeah that's fine, Yes, I agree, okay, but
- 13:39I mean they are I think on on pause right now? You know what
- 13:43I mean, they're on a break, and that's good because there should be
- 13:46consequences. So I think intervention in that way when things get physical, you
- 13:50know, they are placed on a hold and they can't shoot anymore, or
- 13:56they're docked a certain amount of pay, or if there's some sort of alcohol
- 14:00infused fight for horrible essay that we saw, you know, attempt at essay
- 14:07or what have you, allegedly on below deck down under, you know,
- 14:13they intervened. So I think a lot of these guidelines are great to support
- 14:18the crew and the producers as to where they should intervene. As far as
- 14:22the talent themselves, I don't know how you can reel that in from the
- 14:26beginning, the middle, over the end. There's such I've just heard enough
- 14:31of these folks say I had no idea what I was getting into. Because
- 14:35usually when you're cast on one of these shows, it's kind of up to
- 14:39the veteran cast or former cast to kind of if you can connect with them.
- 14:43It's kind of on you as the new cast member to kind of get
- 14:48info in tidbits from people and hope that it's okay. Like I think,
- 14:54just having hey, I'm sure there's a little bit of like, here's what
- 14:58to expect, but to have just like a they need a welcome video,
- 15:03Amy, I think, yeah, just doing it. Yeah, you're right,
- 15:05like you know, here's what you signed up for and get right because
- 15:11as much as we see and I think, like I don't have any idea,
- 15:16Like I'm always like Danielle, you knew what you were getting into when
- 15:20you got on the show. Like and then it's like, I don't know
- 15:24what fifteen hours of filming actually feels, like how much I should actually be
- 15:28hydrating? Like you know what I mean, right, fifteen hours in a
- 15:31row and always and the paranoia and whatever's involved. Like just knowing what emotional
- 15:39hurdles are actually gonna be up and coming would be whatever you do is going
- 15:46to have hurdles. Thank you, Right, I think you make a good
- 15:50point. I I kind of like threw the baby out with the bathwater there
- 15:54like that. You know, when a reality star comes on a show,
- 15:58it's like it's gonna be a ship storm no matter what way you slice it
- 16:02or how much you warn them. You can't prepare them. But at the
- 16:04same time, I think you're right. I think that there's something to be
- 16:07said about having some sort of preparation and like, here you go, this
- 16:14is what potentially is what's ahead of you, and these are the things that
- 16:18you should do to better serve yourself in this situation. And then the producer
- 16:22step in in the interim, the producers and the crew helped to provide a
- 16:29safer environment. Yeah, because we know that there's also the producers that these
- 16:34folks are coached to get lean in on that drama, lean in, lean
- 16:40in, but like, I don't think they're really coached on like anything else,
- 16:45so it might be really helpful. I don't know, it would be
- 16:48good to have just a separate I mean, I mean, as we are
- 16:52making up these rules, why not you know, you've got the producers who
- 16:56should stick to their jobs and do what they do best, right, then
- 17:00maybe you have someone who's there who's kind of like you know, the police,
- 17:04who's kind of like, Okay, we need to have a time out,
- 17:07or this person needs a break or you know. I guess that that
- 17:12is one way to handle it as well, Because if a producer is leaning
- 17:17into producing, I don't know if they're going to be able to have the
- 17:21foresight to I don't know now, I mean, no, I'm with you.
- 17:25I'm just now thinking, like, whoever that good cop is, they're
- 17:27going to like get shoved in a broom closet and locked in, and the
- 17:32producers. I wouldn't want to be that. I don't know what happened.
- 17:33I know, I know, I know, I don't know. It's all
- 17:40like it's been the wild West for as long as we've seen it, you
- 17:44know, Yeah, and it will continue to change and evolve as things move
- 17:49forward. We'll see anyway. Well, uh, that is the news for
- 17:56to day. I wanted to let you know a couple things. Reality Bites

- 18:25blue. What's the name of it? Can you see this blue moon?
- 18:30Okay? Sorry, Roona chunky, this nail polishes you keep it going dry
- 18:36and cracked? Okay, it's actually not Wow, Way to go, Kristin

- 19:26be a real Papa color. Oh my god. Chef Stewart and I are

- 19:33new mugs yesterday. Look at abba dah. I know, great, thank
- 19:40you. I love them. They're like a forest green and then they have
- 19:44the pink writing drama Darling on it. I'm very excited about it. So
- 19:47font I will have these at the Reality Bites Live event. So super excited.
- 19:52I just I drove all the way to Oxnard yesterday to pick them up
- 19:56at the warehouse. Personally, it was a very exciting moment. I like
- 19:59was so psyched. I've never had my own merch before, so this is
- 20:02very thrilling. I will have them in Vegas to sell them there at my
- 20:07Cabarem. I'll figure out how to get them to you guys and put them

- 20:15almost sold out. Thursday's pretty much done. Last time I oh, the
- 20:18last time I checked, I feel like there were two tickets, two seats
- 20:21left, but I think those are gone. And Friday night's sold out,

- 20:48Bear so exciting. Yes, two seats left for what night Thursday? Okay,
- 20:56Well, Kim and Kroy date night. Yeah, and they're separate seats.
- 21:00They're not even together. Hey, that'll work right, perfect. I
- 21:07know it's perfect for them anyway, Emily hob but duh, it's time to
- 21:11go to the Italian Revere. Ah wow, Wow, it's such a beautiful
- 21:18day to go boating. Thank you. When she said that, I was
- 21:22like, that's just the Amy now steering the ship. Also, you know,
- 21:26I mean when I was on Reality Checked for years, I've been talking
- 21:30about those White Capris years since it began, and I feel like, you
- 21:37know, though it's been there for all of us to see, it's nice
- 21:41to see that on the actual show they are mentioning the White Capris quite often.
- 21:45Now. I have a whole song in my cabaret about Captain Sandy and
- 21:49the White Capris spoiler alert. But anyway, gosh a steak. Now,
- 21:56this is wild to be on this yacht as opposed to the one last year
- 22:03that was a fucking hot mess. Do you remember the hybrid? Yes?
- 22:07Oh my god. This is what a what a change, what a difference.
- 22:12And this this vessel, as Sandy says, it is the vessel of
- 22:18all vessels. I mean, I can't believe this This is such a game
- 22:22changer. Now they were in I want to say, was it Malta or
- 22:26something last year time? Yeah? I feel well they definitely were, But
- 22:32was it last season? Was it last season? Yeah? I feel like
- 22:33it was because I think it was like, there's no reason they should have
- 22:37been there because it wasn't equipped for super yachts. It was so hard getting
- 22:41out. They kept hitting the dolphins. It was so hard getting back in.
- 22:45You know. Then they had the hybrid issues, the air conditioner,
- 22:48the doors, like it was a mess. Things were shutting down. This
- 22:52to me is already on a whole nother level for Captain Sandy. The fact
- 22:57that they have this frickin' pilot like that has to come on board, you
- 23:03know, to just have go with them to leave and then get back on
- 23:07his boat. You know, they have this unbelievable MCA inspector that comes on
- 23:14that is inspecting all these documents. And who would have thought that we'd get
- 23:18such drama right out of the gates. I could not believe this first episode,
- 23:22Emily. I mean, we have been through it with Ruin and not
- 23:27and not like drama among the cast, just like like total drama against the
- 23:33man like the government the man, and by the man, we mean Captain
- 23:41Sandy's white caprice. That's right, they are the man they represent. But
- 23:47yes, like just getting through the whole, like trying to leave the port,
- 23:52which again is amazing. They're in Genua, Italy and it's a commercial
- 23:56port, so I mean, they are strict as you're gonna They're about as
- 24:00strict as you can get. I mean, and it should have been a
- 24:03drinking game. The amount of times that captain said, like, so we
- 24:07can get arrested because of one person, So you're saying they can stop the
- 24:11boat and arrest us all because of one person. I mean, it was
- 24:14just like, oh my god, I'm so stressed out right now. Yeah,
- 24:18and I am actually pretty surprised, Like now I need to know the
- 24:23whole when Ruth's whole backstory. I'm gonna call him rue because that's what he
- 24:27said to call him to his friends. And I'm a friend, but I'm
- 24:33not a friend. Actually I don't know. I don't know a friend of
- 24:38I'm a friend of. But he could have just it could have just been
- 24:42him, because that show, really, this first episode was just him.
- 24:47I mean, it was like we got to get him back friend dying,
- 24:52which really was sad his origin story. But here's the thing, Yes,
- 24:57those documents had me wondering, like, what's really going on here? Did
- 25:03his friend actually die? Was he looking for an out? I was like,
- 25:08what's going on? But I had questions, Oh, whoa because popped
- 25:18my water toy. I'm willing to say that the friend. Something actually happened
- 25:26to the friend. It's just that usually when there's a friend or someone that's
- 25:33not on the boat, that something happens to you. Yes, I agree.
- 25:36We get a bit of a photo montage, we get a bit of
- 25:40a wait for the photo. I was waiting for the photos too. Yeah,
- 25:42and we didn't get that. And he clearly still came back for interviews
- 25:48because he's still talking about the situation in retrospect on the show. So I'm
- 25:53like, well, he must have a picture on his phone or something.
- 26:00No, well maybe they didn't allow maybe her family didn't allow him to use
- 26:07it. It was it was a guy, and no, I thought it
- 26:11was it was a girl. No, I thought he I thought he said
- 26:14it was a guy. I thought he said it was like his buddy that
- 26:15he since he was eight, right, But then late I thought, I
- 26:19assume that too, but then later he did say, she my she this
- 26:23she that I first called the morning, my last call at night. Okay,
- 26:29well, here's the thing. If you took the picture, you own
- 26:33the rights to it. So I don't know, I don't think the the
- 26:37but it's someone else's image. Doesn't matter. That's how paparazzi like, it
- 26:41doesn't matter you you That's that's the law. Yeah, that's like what so
- 26:45like all these pictures of like Marilyn Monroe, Like Hugh Hefner had bought pictures
- 26:51of Marilyn Monroe naked from the photographer and used that as the cover of Playboy.
- 26:56Marilyn Monroe never got a dime for that cover. Oh my image.
- 27:03Yeah, okay, but that was a professional photographer where it signed. It
- 27:07doesn't matter. That's that's how you can take a picture of a celebrity in
- 27:11a restaurant and send it to TMC and they can use it. You're the
- 27:14photographer. Do you own the image? Hmmm? Okay, do you remember,
- 27:22like the Obama do you remember the television and broadcasts might have different rules.
- 27:27I don't know. We don't know, because like darlings, we don't
- 27:33know because like when people are wasted and drunk, that's why they blur out
- 27:38people's faces all the time on TV because you don't have their right to air
- 27:42them. Hmmm. I don't know. Yeah, I think I might be
- 27:48right on this one. I don't sound off, darlings, but I don't
- 27:56if that is that. Let's get back to you. Let's get back to
- 28:00your point about this rue, this rue being, this being a ruse by
- 28:06rue, because do you believe that this actually happened? I did. I
- 28:12believe. I was like, this is the worst luck anyone could possibly have,
- 28:17and this is like somebody who also is still trying to pull something over
- 28:22on someone because he doesn't have the right. I don't think it's luck,
- 28:26because no, I think that the death was was horrible. But then on
- 28:30top of that, it's like everything caught up with him and now he's losing
- 28:36his job, and so essentially it's just a real big bout of bad luck
- 28:41because the choices that he made with you know, his documentation being fake,
- 28:47he thought he could get away with for so long, and then all of
- 28:48a sudden, the bottom dropped out under him, under him, and then
- 28:53this unfortunate thing happened in his life, so essentially, yeah, I think
- 29:00also he he seemed to have been really uh getting us ready for his wild
- 29:07origin story, and then we saw it play out in ten minutes and he'sa
- 29:11off the boat, Like we saw what that wild origin story actually leads to,
- 29:15and it's forteing documents and trying to pull one over on oh god,
- 29:19an entire production crew, and yeah, he can get away with it.
- 29:23I mean, this is wild. Like he said that that was that wasn't
- 29:29even his face on the certification, Like that wasn't even his face, and
- 29:33he's been using that this entire time. He thought that he'd be able to
- 29:37get away with this. Well, it sounds like his job is really in
- 29:44demand, so maybe others saw it and we're just like we're gonna wing it.
- 29:48And then this particular port has like is so high traffic and has actual
- 29:55officials working it, so that like, this is not right. It's interesting
- 29:57that they even realized that wasn't him, Like I would know his face well
- 30:03enough to know it wasn't him. I was confused about that too, Like
- 30:04how would they have known that? Yeah, I don't know, unless they
- 30:10have some kind of face recognition or there was two different pieces of ID and
- 30:12they compared the pictures as obviously that could have been it too, but he
- 30:18said it himself. He's never been on a commercial boat, so that would
- 30:23have like he could have fled, He could have flown through in other situations
- 30:29and no one would have noticed. But this was wild because she was like
- 30:33when she called him into her office or whatever and then oh, like to
- 30:40show him the document. Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah, like basically
- 30:44call him out, to basically call him out, and she's like, you
- 30:47have to go to school to get this. Where did you go to class
- 30:51class? He's like, excuse me, I know what class? By class
- 30:55do you mean like a place where you go, you know, where you
- 30:59learn? And then she's like, oh, he says Monaco. I went
- 31:04to like it was this. Yeah. She was like, yeah, you
- 31:08can't get your yacht masters on a boat in Monaco. They don't have a
- 31:12school. And I was like, this is really intense right now. It
- 31:18was literally like a horror movie. It's like they don't have a school in
- 31:25Monico. It's like, oh my god, Captain Sandy Crack like, oh
- 31:30you know that everything. So I was willing to give him a little bit
- 31:37of the benefit of the doubt that maybe he was conned into thinking that he
- 31:45was Oh really, Oh it was like, Emily, come on, be
- 31:52smarter, this is we're all getting bullshitted here. So yeah, and then
- 31:57and that is when I was like, I wonder if his friend even died,
- 32:01Like I will, if he was just like highly emotional because he felt
- 32:06like he was about to get caught and possibly even arrested, and just an
- 32:10acquaintance died and he just like leaned in because he was having a fucking terrible
- 32:15time. I mean, it's it's I don't say it's not possible, but
- 32:21wow, that would be pretty psychotic, it would be. But I think
- 32:25that also it's very specific. You know, he said it was a head
- 32:30on collision. True, But I'm saying, like, all right, I'm
- 32:36willing to say that, you're saying that, Okay, you're willing to say,
- 32:39yeah, this is a negotiation. No wait, I'm willing to say
- 32:42a close friend died because I think that you were sort of on a you
- 32:46know, trying to communicate that maybe someone did die that he knew of but
- 32:52didn't know very well, and then leaned into it as if it were a
- 32:55close friend. But when I heard him crying. I was like, Oh,
- 33:00this poor guy, he knows he's busted. No, this is before
- 33:04I thought somebody died. Oh, I thought he is really upset about this
- 33:07yacht master's thing. And this is like I thought, oh my god,
- 33:13he is a mess because this is ruining everything and he's the jig is up
- 33:17and he's busted and he's really taking this hard and this is probably good.
- 33:22But I was then and then the fact that it was this person that died,
- 33:24I was like, this is nuts. Yeah, I I was with
- 33:30I'm one hundred percent. I felt bad for him, and I felt like
- 33:32he thought that he he had counted on this money, he had counted on
- 33:37this contract, and then he wasn't going to be able to get the papers
- 33:40in time. That's what I thought he was crying about. Yes, he
- 33:43wasn't gonna be he couldn't his friend wasn't gonna be able to get him.
- 33:45It's like, let's forget it. He can't get those papers. And my
- 33:49heart broke for him in that moment. Yeah, and then when I saw
- 33:52that it was a friend died and then we weren't getting a photo fut.
- 33:55Yeah, I was wondering about the photo and then later in that office with
- 34:01the I and then when we found out it was a fake ID, and
- 34:05then with Sandy, I was like, I don't know that I do.
- 34:08I wonder how close he was with that friend and the pressure of everything,
- 34:12because then he could say like I wanted to leave to go be with my
- 34:15friends and family. My friends are my family, so I'm good, I'm
- 34:21just gonna leave, right. I would have thought he would have done that
- 34:23pretty quickly, but the fact that he was like, get it together,
- 34:27and then he was gonna Boson all day, you know what I mean.
- 34:30When after he found out that news, I thought, Wow, he's really
- 34:31just gonna just push forward in Boson. Well, look, we don't know
- 34:38anything about him in terms of like if he's a narcissist or whatever, but
- 34:44I have a feeling like he's he's gotten pretty far in life. Just work
- 34:46in the system, and anything's absolutely anything's possible. He's a scrapper, that's
- 34:53the thing. And so many yachties are and I hate to you know category,
- 35:00but you it's often a tale as old as time on the sea.
- 35:04When you hear about the stories of a lot of the people there, they
- 35:07have a sense of wonderless. They they a lot of them come from broken
- 35:10families, and some of them don't. Some of them have extremely close families
- 35:14and they're really tight. Come from the sprouts. That blew my mind.
- 35:20I was like, sprouts. I'm like, so if something goes wrong,
- 35:23you just buy the yacht, a new yacht for Sandy. That's how this
- 35:27is gonna work. I could not believe that. I was like, what
- 35:31are you doing? No? I mean I love it. I mean it's
- 35:34great too, I love it. I just was like, dang, that
- 35:38is a fortune. And then it was really sad that her dad died because
- 35:42when she was like I want to they had already painted the picture that she
- 35:45doesn't even know how to fold socks, you know, they had already painted
- 35:50the picture that she's so green, because Jessica was talking the stuff about it
- 35:54as a stew she's really a deckhand, right right, yeah, right,
- 35:59So it just they they were painting her out to be like not exactly the
- 36:04brightest ball, you know. And then all of a sudden, she in
- 36:07her confessional, she was like, I want to be a captain someday.
- 36:10And I was like, okay, right, because you did. And then
- 36:15and then She's like, my dad died. I was like, oh god,
- 36:16I feel like such an asshole because I was doubting her ability for skills.
- 36:22And then I realizing, Oh, then I realized, oh, she
- 36:25really is a deckhand. She has and that's that's where you texted me like
- 36:29I don't believe her, and he was like, I don't believe her.
- 36:31Her dad didn't die. And I was like, I know, I don't
- 36:35think Ru's friend died either, and yeah, we don't believe any of this.
- 36:37This is just a chipple. Liars, the liars. Oh my god,
- 36:50shamphile, I'm liars. Yeah, I he died. He had brain
- 36:57cancers fifty I look that right. Oh wow, that is awful. That
- 37:01is so hard and oh god. Uh But anyway, I I feel like,
- 37:10uh, what we're oh, in terms of being a scrapper, and
- 37:15like RU as a scrapper, I also think that those are the kind of
- 37:19people that can think very quickly and save the day. So I kind of
- 37:22want that Gary, Yes, Colin, yeah, yes, you know these
- 37:29are all scrappers. Yeah, they can fix your engine. They're like mcguyver
- 37:32in that way, and that's kind of what you you want. Somebody that
- 37:37can do that, and that isn't just like so static in they're thinking right,
- 37:40so and obviously they had a hard time finding a boson. I mean
- 37:45it's the middle of the Med season, That's what I mean. That's why
- 37:46I'm wondering if that's how he gets away with it, because it's so in
- 37:51demand. I mean, I bet there's part of Sandy. Well, I
- 37:54was gonna say, I bet there's part of Sandy that's like fuck it.
- 37:58But oh yeah, she's government ever ever, she isn't by the book lady.
- 38:04And then her trying to call Norma and be like, ah, Norma,
- 38:08let me your best bos ends and Norma's like, sorry, don't have
- 38:13any for two weeks since she's like god darn it. But I think this
- 38:16is maybe a blessing. Because Ruth couldn't even tell the distance. He was
- 38:22wird, right, that was a red flag? Yeah, yeah, so
- 38:27I think that that was Yeah, maybe we got ahead of something. Yeah,
- 38:32we sure did get a He calls and says, you know, it's
- 38:37just not working out. It was going to go back to South Africa.
- 38:39Yeah, probably a good idea, Probably a good idea. And he said
- 38:44nothing. He gave no indication of any truth, and she said thank you
- 38:47for your and Sandy's like, thank you for your honesty, like honesty for
- 38:51what calling back? I mean maybe since he called. I think because he
- 38:54called and he didn't lie. He did, he didn't say an oh,
- 39:00he didn't tell the truth, but he didn't also lie further. You know,
- 39:04He's like, I can't work it out. He was the most generic.
- 39:08Yeah, it sure was. And in that office, that little office,
- 39:13I was squirming in my chair. Yes, And documents are in front
- 39:17of him and he's looking at him like, how can I change those?
- 39:22I can't? Just so awkward, like, and the certification was a photo
- 39:32copy. That was a photocopy, right, the certification with his You're supposed
- 39:37to have the originals, right, But I is frustrating because it's like,
- 39:40who wants to bring your original copies with you everywhere? I know. But
- 39:44in terms of forging documents, I'm like, why do you photo shop the
- 39:49copy? If you're using copies anyway, why wouldn't you put your real photo
- 39:53on it? Right? If we're all bullshitting here, like I guess I
- 40:00didn't understand that. Yeah, choice in terms of being a con man,
- 40:06Yeah, that didn't really. Yeah, that's a really good point. He's
- 40:09not a good con man. No, he's not. So the roue is
- 40:15up, the room is up. You know what I love. I love
- 40:20nothing more than when Sandy is invited to dinner and she gets to tell her
- 40:27story. Yeahding saved my life. You know, he's a good kid.
- 40:30But see, here's something that I didn't know. I mean, actually I
- 40:35may have read a little bit of it in her book, but she didn't.
- 40:37She's never really said it on the show when she said that her neighbor
- 40:40she was a good kid, but her neighbor gave her a coylude seven fourteen
- 40:45coilude, which I don't know. I mean, there's a name for it.
- 40:50And that is just so sad because then she was just chase. She
- 40:54says she was chasing that drug drain all that whole time, and she was
- 40:58like I was getting arrested and then day I woke up and got help.
- 41:01And that's why she's called to be a mentor to people. And then her
- 41:07friend Kean was like, how many chances do you give them? She's like
- 41:10three. It's like it's just so funny to me because they're really I mean,
- 41:15you do have to have your boundaries obviously, but it's like that's why
- 41:19I always give chances, unlimited chances, how many three? And then you're
- 41:22out. I mean, isn't that kind of the norm for however many chances?
- 41:28Everyone ever week usually gives everyone. I mean not on Captain Jason's boat.
- 41:32You're really done on that boat. I mean you didn't get like maybe
- 41:37you're right, you get like a warning and then you're out. There was
- 41:40like one morning. I didn't also know the context of that, like how
- 41:46many chances? How when? Because to be right rue not knowing the distance
- 41:52to that's one. Yeah, on just like a sample question, a sample
- 41:59question and account in that way as one of your strikes. Absolutely, yeah,
- 42:04red flag, red flag, red flag. So we have Okay,
- 42:09So here's a question I have for you, because Nat stepped in as temporary
- 42:15chiefs doe because we have the chief stew and the second stew stuck in immigration
- 42:22and that's Kyle who was coming back again and then to me as well.
- 42:28So Nat, was she even supposed to be on this charter at all?
- 42:32Or do they call her in to save the day in general? Because I
- 42:37could not get that story straight, Okay, I she said, yeah,
- 42:44that she was supposed to be second stew oh, and that's why they had
- 42:52the temp. Brooke is a temp. Oh Brook the Brook is the temp.
- 42:59Yeah, temporary stew right. So I'm not totally sure. Well,
- 43:06I don't know why. I for some reason got confused, but I'm sure
- 43:08she's there the whole season. It just it just sounded like she was like,
- 43:14well, honestly in you know, you know, somewhere else, and
- 43:17then I could Colt Floyd a year up and I'll could be here, and
- 43:21so I was very confused. I don't know. Yeah, So NAT's there,
- 43:25which is fun, and she's the temporary chief stew We've got Kyle and
- 43:30Toomey stuck in immigration and that's exciting. So now we're starting off with like
- 43:36temporary, we're losing the Boson. The drama is high, the stakes are
- 43:39very high. We got Luca who popped over from down Under and according to
- 43:45Sandy just says, you know, Captain Jason highly recommends. You know,
- 43:49when a captain recommends someone, you know, you take him on their recommendation.
- 43:52That's why I decided to make him the temporary provisional Boson. So now
- 43:57he's in there, moving so far, it seems okay. I think like
- 44:02it's I In terms of producing the show, I think you always should,
- 44:07based on this and sailing yacht, start with the smaller crew. Remember Gary
- 44:15had COVID and it makes for drama immediately. Yes, it sure does start
- 44:20with a smaller crew. I mean what a mess like. Yeah, and
- 44:23this vessel looks enormous and they need as many people as they possibly can get.
- 44:29It's four floors, she said, four floors. I love the fact
- 44:34that there are all these female deckhands and there are more women on this than
- 44:38there are men. Okay, I do too. I did not like.
- 44:43I gate why Captain Sandy said it, but she said, I I uh,
- 44:46she said a lot of women on this crew. For me, what
- 44:52did she say? I wrote it down? She said, for me,
- 44:53that's a highlight. And I get what she's saying. But I don't think
- 44:58as the person in charge, you can put that out there, because yeah,
- 45:05I think you're kind of sewing favoritism when that's not what your intention was.
- 45:08You're you're more or less speaking in terms of like like to see the
- 45:13industry being more representative, but when you're saying it to your small crew in
- 45:21that area, I was like, oh, that's that's not a good look.
- 45:24Because if it wasn't dude saying it, because if it was Captain Jason
- 45:30saying an all male crew, this is there for me. There there are
- 45:34them and their balls, they're just they're just fine. Okay. Now I'm
- 45:38saying that as like a very hardcore feminist, But if I know you're saying
- 45:43equality is equality and should just be equality across the board, and I understand
- 45:47what you're saying in that way in an authoritative position. Yeah, well,
- 45:53Sandy really loves you know, there are so few female females in this industry
- 45:59and it's it's very difficult, you know. And and so I think that
- 46:04her wanting to support that, I mean, to me, in my opinion,
- 46:07I don't think that's a bad thing. I think I understand what you're
- 46:10saying as far as like, yeah, if that would have come from like
- 46:14a man, that would have been that no good look. Pipe So in
- 46:17the means for the end of the season, save it for the end and
- 46:22say like one thing that I really want to say in terms of the yachting
- 46:27business as a whole or something. She has said that in the past.
- 46:30I know it just felt weird as your first all hands meeting to be like,
- 46:36I am, this is gonna I'm you know. It just made me
- 46:39think, like, and that would not have been good if Captain Lee said
- 46:43that about oh guys. Yeah, no, I hear you. Oh though
- 46:45they're fine, Though they're fine, everyone's fine. I think the guys can
- 46:52take one. Take one for the team. Okay, all the balls everywhere,
- 46:57all the time. Yeah, but what if there's this So I only
- 47:00thought in terms of, like, if I'm a dude and there's a situation
- 47:05and I can now claim favoritism, like she's showing favoritism or a past you
- 47:10know what I mean. I understand what you're saying. You know, at
- 47:15the end of the day, that is the probably the right thing to do.
- 47:21But I don't care about that. Amy needs coffee, Mama needs her
- 47:30caffeine. Drama. What's in your drama, darling mug? Does it hold
- 47:35things besides coffee? Decaf coffee, not real coffee? Yeah? So well,
- 47:45speaking of the welcome talk, Sandy's like, God, women are so
- 47:49much better than men. I'm so happy you're all here. You didn't hear
- 47:53what I said? Did you? What say that? Again? I didn't
- 47:58I was like, in your Sandy, K say it again, I said,
- 48:02I said, ah, welcome. Women are so much better than men.
- 48:07I'm so glad you guys are here. I didn't even clock in.
- 48:12I was like, yeah, okay, they are, so keep going.
- 48:15Absolutely no drugs unless you're a woman. No drinking on the charter, Unleissa,
- 48:21you're a gal. And uh no racist comments and that's for everybody.
- 48:24Okay, lead all right, so hey see this, never take it away.
- 48:31That's this gorgeous smile. Okay, this means you love to see.
- 48:36Okay, we're not cheesy, she gets she gets so cheesy. We're gonna
- 48:43rock this. Yeah, no, rock it hard. And then of course
- 48:46with all of the charter guests coming in, She's like, we're gonna launch
- 48:51every fucking toy, every goddamn water toy that exists. We're gonna fucking plunge
- 48:59it. I know, lunch, they're all firing them off the dot.
- 49:05Also, I think that guest was a little coach to think they came in.
- 49:10Sandy's like, you know, ask us when we're leaving and be not
- 49:15about dinner time. Yeah, totally, we're friends. Come on, play
- 49:22the game. It'll be good. It gets up. Meanwhile, She's like,
- 49:25actually, there's some real fucking drama that's going on right now. So
- 49:29what I said to you be a text. Don't even worry about that.
- 49:31He's like, no, I'm going with it. I'm going with it.
- 49:35He's like, let's go to the wheelhouse and do that thing we talked about.
- 49:39So one hour. Okay, Sandy, we're leaving in one hour.
- 49:44I'll hold you do it. Call off the ninety dogs all right. Oh
- 49:51gosh, the the chef chef Jack looks extremely talented. I mean the brand
- 49:58Zeno, the lamb chops, the two ato and mozzarella. Oh, it
- 50:00looks so good. He looks great. His story how he was like,
- 50:07I was pretty much like catatonic until I was eight, and then they show
- 50:09a picture of him and all the pictures of him were like, yeah,
- 50:14that was wild. And then it made me laugh though, and I made
- 50:17me laugh. He's so funny. All my friends who have had kids that
- 50:21were like slow talk to talk and everything, and like, everybody's gonna be
- 50:25fine. I think I loved this story because it did you know. I
- 50:31think that, you know, we really need to normalize certain things when kids
- 50:35are younger. I mean, I talked to so many parents, and you
- 50:39worry so much about your kids because of what you see out there, and
- 50:43they should be doing this at this age, and the doctor says this,
- 50:45and it's like it instills unnecessary fear sometimes. Now there are certainly some markers
- 50:52that if those things aren't met, there should be concern in the sense that
- 50:57because there's also the other thing where it's like early intervention is always all often
- 51:00very key. So there's that too, so that you try to have to
- 51:05strike You have to like strike a balance between the two, and it's very
- 51:08difficult to do so. But I did love this story that you know,
- 51:12he just finally at eight years old, you know, just finally started talking
- 51:15and then just didn't stop. And I love that story. Wasn't it weird
- 51:21too? Who had the b roll footage? Was it Lara? That was
- 51:24the girl from the farm who rolls around in cowshit? I think it was
- 51:29Lara, Yeah, Lara, Lara, Lara. Yes, that was wild.
- 51:32But that was weird too, to have like just generic b roll of
- 51:37a child running. I you and I clocked the same things, I swear,
- 51:40because I was looking for the picture of the girl who had passed obviously
- 51:45much like you. And this I was like, is this is this?
- 51:49Is this like real footage or is this stock footage of a girl running in
- 51:52a farm? I was like, this is getting wild because the crew was
- 51:57getting younger and younger as I as we grow older, and so as they
- 52:01get older. Now it's literally like they have iPhone footage of their child childhood
- 52:07and that they can send in. But it was weird footage. They had
- 52:13the birthday on recorded and that video footage, which was fine, but then
- 52:17there was a child running through a field with like it looked like it was
- 52:22shot on like a movie camera, like it looked like like an MVI like
- 52:25it. It looked professional, like you would have it in a b Roll
- 52:29pharmaceutical commercial or something. I agree, it was very strange. Yeah.
- 52:35And then a huge pile of shit and just how she used to roll in
- 52:38the warm. I was like, wow, that is farm life, you
- 52:43know, Like I don't know, I don't know, I never knew.
- 52:46I was like that people with farms and I've never heard that. I never
- 52:52heard that. I've never heard it me. She explained it like a pile
- 52:55of leaves, like yeah, yeah, the comfort, oh yeah, yes,
- 53:06oh my God, well, Nat, I'm excited that Nat is back.
- 53:09She's like, smash eight. We're gonna smash eight. Captain Sandy.
- 53:15Yeah, they're very cute, very cute. Gosh, you know they they
- 53:22they left the dock. Great. Oh. I love the fact that the
- 53:25guests, someone's iPhone fell in the hot tub and then slung himself in there
- 53:31and then the guy's like, uh, you know their waterpoop. He's like
- 53:35it is that was nuts? Like he could have really hurt his neck.
- 53:44Oh my god, Yes, that looks so scary because there's like benches in
- 53:47that thing and he like chest first, yes is he thinking? I don't
- 53:54know. I watched it. I did rewind that way. I did watch
- 54:00that twice because it was so great. I like the response. You know
- 54:04they're water right, they are. Sandy popped down to the galley as she
- 54:16does Jack. That was excellent. You're good, You're good. You big
- 54:23act to follow because chef Dave, he's my man. Sandy seemed legit impressed.
- 54:30Yeah. With the food, she was yeah, yeah, And I
- 54:35did not have high hopes for that. That chocolate cake looked a little dry,
- 54:38the sponge looked dry, bake off, and I was not, but
- 54:44they all seem to like it, so maybe I was wrong it was a
- 54:46flowerless tort. I would imagine why it looks so dry. Okay, Okay,
- 54:53I don't think it was flowerless. Hebe Yeah, okay, and I
- 54:58and I know because I videoed it and I shot it on TV and didn't
- 55:00have to blur it out. We've left the darlings with a lot of questions,
- 55:09a lot it has to be answered. You guys have some homework tonight.
- 55:15Tonight, your homework is find out about legally if you can show someone's
- 55:22picture. Do you think that rue was it? Was it a ruse about
- 55:29the death? And please answering complete sentences? Yes, and we don't speaking
- 55:35up and we know whose paper it is. Yes, yes, And if
- 55:38you don't put your name on the top, we willed the duck points.
- 55:44But definitely get back to us on that legal thing. Yeah, all right,
- 55:49Well I guess that does it. That does it for us? Yeah,
- 55:54good stuff. But I'm excited tomorrow with Salt Lake City. I mean,
- 55:57last week's episode was so epic. I mean it's gonna be a hard,
- 56:01a tough act to follow, just like Chef Jack is to Chef Dave.
- 56:06You know, yes, yes, and we're still at the Tricksie Motel
- 56:10in Palm Springs. That's right. I'm saying the show is not us.
