- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: change does not take a long time to do.
- 0:03[SPEAKER_01]: It actually happens in an instant when you have the leverage to create that change.
- 0:09[SPEAKER_01]: For example, people in painful relationships who know they should take different action, but they don't until something happens and all of a sudden the lever is actually pulled, right?
- 0:18[SPEAKER_03]: Welcome to the be it till you see it podcast where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_03]: I'm also Logan, prize instructor, and fitness business coach.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_03]: I've trained thousands of people around the world, and the number one thing I see stopping people from achieving anything is self-doubt.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_03]: My friends, action brings clarity, and it's the antidote to fear.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_03]: Each week my guests will bring bold, executable, intrinsic, and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and be it till you see it.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_03]: It's a practice, not a perfect, let's get started.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_03]: Welcome back to the beat till you see it interview recap where my cohost and my Brad and I are going to dig into the compelling combo I had with another Brad.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_03]: This is Brad Bizjack in our last episode.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_03]: If you haven't yet listened to that one, you did not get your life spiced up, you did not get extra dose of energy, you, you, you, you need to.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_03]: You have to go back.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_01]: You're officially missing out.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_03]: So you'll listen to us talk about him and then go listen that one, but you can't skip that one.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_01]: cannot skip it.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's a great interview, a great episode.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_01]: Brad Bisjack is he is is very educated on emotional maturity.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_03]: I think that's a good way of discussing it.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_01]: And he explains in his programs, which lesson I have been students of, how we have connected the dots on things in a way that puts undue pressure on ourselves.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
- 1:55[SPEAKER_01]: So like success or security or all these amazing things
- 2:01[SPEAKER_01]: we want and need and desire.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_01]: But then what is the, like, if we haven't laid it out properly, we end up feeling scared or afraid or, like, a lot of pressure and all this kind of stuff.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_01]: And that's why this come, his conversation was very compelling because he also uses
- 2:19[SPEAKER_03]: acronyms.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_01]: No, great examples.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, examples and quips like short statements that are very thought provoking.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_01]: Loved it.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_01]: Fantastic.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_03]: No notes.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_03]: Well, we're going to get into that in a second.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_03]: But first, today is October 16, National Spirit Day.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_03]: Spirit Day is an annual observance that takes place in the
- 2:43[SPEAKER_03]: and that's on October 16th this year.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_03]: This day aims to create awareness for the bullying harassment that the LGBTQ community faces.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_03]: millions of people worldwide identify as queer and many more are yet to publicly declare their status.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_03]: Such as large community people shouldn't be alienated or marginalized as because they're sexual orientation, but the rally sadly is that they are all over the world as a BTQ use suffer harassing because their identity there is also a need for transcendent individuals to have more protected rights.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_03]: And so, you know,
- 3:13[SPEAKER_03]: taking some time today to just see what's going on in your community and how you can support.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_03]: I would even look up the people who are wanting if you're especially if you have a country where you could vote, look who's saying terrible things about these people and don't vote for them.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_03]: Period.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_03]: Because here is the deal.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_03]: It's not going to stop with them.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_03]: It won't stop with them.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_03]: If they take away all the rights, LGBTQ, where you live, they're not going to be like, ah, now we have the power to want.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_01]: No, I mean, it didn't start with them, but it didn't start with them.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_01]: That's the thing.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's the, it's a misnomer that like, oh, wow, they're huge problem.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_01]: No, they're only huge problem because they're the current topic of conversation and they're,
- 3:53[SPEAKER_01]: And the problem is being created in a way that it's not real, right?
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: So they're making it a problem.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_01]: They're pretending that it's a problem because they need somebody to alienate.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, someone has to be the thing that we all fear.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_03]: And look, the word homosexual was not in the Bible until 1946.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_03]: Interesting, because I thought that was a work of words that's been around for thousands of years.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_03]: Right?
- 4:19[SPEAKER_03]: So it was put in there to make you scared, to make you conform.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_03]: And then in the 80s, they used the AIDS epidemic to get you scared and afraid of people.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_03]: And not even wanting to hug people.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_03]: And now they want to make us all worried about the fucking sports.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_03]: And there's like 10 people in the in CWA sports that are trans and when you there was a swimmer who is asked like Why you worried about trans women and sports just like no, I'm worried about our public.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_03]: It's becoming Nazis And I loved that, Quip.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_03]: I loved it because the reality is is that like they're trying every all of this is Disgure you that there's someone different than you
- 5:01[SPEAKER_03]: that is trying to take something away from you.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_03]: And the reality is, is that like bullying is rampant amongst everything.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_03]: There is, I get bullying of, I don't look this enough.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_03]: I look too much of this.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_03]: There's bull, everyone has it, but the reality is that there's a community that's getting it more right now and it is dangerous.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_03]: is dangerous because we know that bullying costs lives.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_03]: People, especially youth, will take their own lives.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_01]: And so it's dangerous on multiple levels.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's dangerous.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_01]: If there's an immediate danger,
- 5:33[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_01]: And the immediate danger is for people who are in the community that is being targeted and currently what we're talking about is the LGBTQ community, but there's the there's that's the immediate danger and then the long term danger is
- 5:51[SPEAKER_01]: It's not going to stop with this community when when something when the the public perception is finally like actually we don't want to agree with you okay then they're like oh well there's another community we need to be worried about and they're just going to shift over to another community they've done it they've done it over and over and over and over and over and over and yeah they always do is the witches before this which was just another word for women and so my I bring not to bring all down because we're going to bring it back up again just second but like you have agency here.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_03]: you can call your Congress person.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_03]: You can make sure that the school is doing is taking action.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_03]: You can also educate yourself in case you have family members who are upset about it.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_03]: Like there are ways to actually being in curiosity and ask the right questions that help them understand, you know, what is going to find out what are they afraid of?
- 6:42[SPEAKER_03]: What are they so afraid of?
- 6:44[SPEAKER_03]: And then we
- 6:47[SPEAKER_03]: because the other thing is, is that we just start getting mad at homophobic people and that puts hate in our heart and it doesn't make us any better than them.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_03]: And so anyways, go observe spare day.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_03]: I love it.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_03]: We announced the OPC tour.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_03]: OPC.me slash tours.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_03]: You can see all the dates.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_03]: I would list all the cities off for you, but I don't have them.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_03]: today while we're recording this.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_03]: So they're up now, though.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_03]: They've been up for a couple of weeks.

- 7:35[SPEAKER_03]: Hey, you want to get a discount on this.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_03]: You're the only person who gets it on the wait list.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_01]: We're actually able to get right now.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_01]: Less than I are currently in Cambodia.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_01]: Hosting a second retreat this year.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_01]: Next year, we will only be having one retreat to Cambodia.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_01]: And it will be in the fall in October of next year, right?
- 7:51[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to be one of the group of people that can come because it is limited, you got to be on the Weight list, go to LeslieLogan.co slash retreats.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_01]: That's plural.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_01]: You get yourself on the weight list.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_01]: You can find out all more information on crowsnestretreats.com, but we will be making an announcement here soon in January about the early bird special.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: So prepare as they pair.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_03]: You'll be here at here.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_03]: You still have to have the link in the email.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_03]: So get on the weight list.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_03]: And a couple days we're going to be in Singapore.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_03]: teaching a private event and finally seeing the botanical gardens were so so excited about it.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_03]: We've seen them from like a high up view, but we haven't actually been in them.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_03]: And then, of course, we'll be on our winter tour.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_03]: So that'll be five weeks long, almost like five weeks long.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_03]: And then, we come home for it to unpack.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_03]: And then we go chatting to beach to the Polaris Journal expoxll.co slash polaris journal.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_03]: We'll get you links.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_03]: We'll get you a link to the tickets.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, go to XXLL.co slash pull out of these journals.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_03]: There's a ton of people who are going to be there.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_03]: I'm really excited about it.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_03]: It's going to be like a reunion for me and some of these friends.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_03]: So I can't wait and see you, she come.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_03]: And then in March, we're doing the Polin Contrology Plyce Conference.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_03]: So Karen Frischman and I are back in Rootswaff.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_03]: Sorry, my Polish people suffice that that wrong.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_03]: People try to teach you rock love, which is not it.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_03]: It is not even close.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, like, but it's easier to say.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_03]: It's like, well, that's not the name of your town.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_03]: So we'll be there, teaching a conference together.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_03]: And then from there.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_01]: So about go to xxll.co slash polling slash polling.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_03]: And then Karen Bradeniron, I like, did to do through your up until the following weekend, we'll be in Brussels xxll.co slash.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_01]: What do you think?
- 9:35[SPEAKER_01]: Way in here.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_01]: Should we be saying xxll.co?
- 9:38[SPEAKER_01]: Or should we be saying double x double l.co?
- 9:41[SPEAKER_01]: What do you like?
- 9:42[SPEAKER_01]: Think the black double L L L L. Double X double L dot com.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_03]: No, that's too hard.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_03]: Double X double L. Because people might actually type in double.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_01]: They might.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_03]: They are listeners.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_01]: But, but I I K why K why.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but people say that no one says double x double echo.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, no X X L L dot C L slash Brussels.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_03]: I let you make OPC a thing.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_03]: No, this is X L L dot CO or it should be X X L L dot co.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, maybe not saying the CO because the problem is it just sounds like too many letters and then I get overwhelmed.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_03]: So at any rate, it's also in the show.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_03]: And she can just click it Brussels.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_03]: These are both in March.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_03]: And then in April, be a POT and London.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_00]: Look forward to that.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: All right, to be back.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: All right to be back.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_03]: We had an incredible question that was really fun and like got us all chatting in the in the studio in between classes Brad.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_03]: So I thought I would bring the attendees from Essex question because I just thought let's talk about this That's so fun.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_01]: The question was what non Pilates books do you read a lot?
- 10:53[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_03]: I don't read very many Pilates books anymore I mean, there's only a couple good ones.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_03]: So okay
- 10:58[SPEAKER_01]: So let's talk about it.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_01]: Do you prefer a specific type of genre of non-polari's books?
- 11:03[SPEAKER_03]: I love a good popcorn book.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_03]: You know a popcorn for your brain book.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_03]: That's how my friend soon I talk about it.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_03]: Like you read the book and you get lost and like it is not going to change the world.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_03]: It's definitely not going to change your life.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_03]: You can almost consume the book in like two or three days.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_03]: It doesn't make change your intelligence in any way, but it's like a little popcorn for your brain.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_03]: The book that I would signify that is like the seven husbands of Elville and Hugo.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_03]: That author so good, that book I read it in two days.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_03]: I have time to read right in two days.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_03]: I have time to read if I like the book.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_03]: I don't, so I like,
- 11:39[SPEAKER_03]: that kind of genre like a rom-com type book is like my go-to, but you and I are really into the Imperian series and I share.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_03]: So I shared with this group, I said, oh, I'm deep in the Imperium series because it's like a great way to like get lost in something and the girls were like the fourth way and I'm like, yeah, I'm in and they were like, okay, I've heard it's really good.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_03]: So it's only
- 12:07[SPEAKER_01]: The Imperian.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so the MP.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_01]: Rebecca Soros.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yarros.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yarros.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yarros.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_01]: Rebecca Soros.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, okay.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_03]: But get this.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, as mean, she posted a picture and tag me with the fourth wing and tiny habits.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_03]: And she said, my recommended rating.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_03]: And I was like, never has anyone ever put those two books in the same like recommended reading section for sure.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_03]: So I shared it and someone else was like, Oh.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_03]: Are you reading that series?
- 12:35[SPEAKER_03]: I said, Oh, I definitely am and I recommend it all the time.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_03]: And I got a recommendation for another series.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_03]: That's really good.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_03]: So I haven't already yet.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_03]: So I can't tell you about it.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_03]: But it's really quite fun to see.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_03]: Many people are in the appearance.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_03]: People are into it.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_03]: It's very, very good.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_03]: Look, it's it's good.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_03]: It's going to be it's like, what is it like called romantic fantasy or it's like, what's the genre?
- 12:56[SPEAKER_03]: Because it's fantasy, but it's not.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_03]: if you don't read with your kids so it's got to have like another letter another word so while he's looking that up i call it new adult fantasy romance or military fantasy that's now that's the japan call it adult fantasy that's what i would put under and it's great i really really like it it's from a female like hero perspective and it just they call it romantasy
- 13:23[SPEAKER_03]: Romanticie, that's a better, that's a good, that's romanticie.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_03]: I also other books I recommend that are non-palotties, love yourself like your life depends on it.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously say tiny habits, the big leap you're never getting out of that one, that one's a must read every year.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_03]: And I think we have some author so it's some books come out, windy, valentine at a book come out, let me have some thing.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_03]: And Dr. Slas had her book come out on like missionary position.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_03]: So I would say like if I've had an author on the pod with a book I've probably read their book or if their books are out yet.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_03]: I read it afterwards and I love this people so much Of course, I'm gonna love their book, but I also recommend if you're always reading business books You got to get into the romantic fantasy from fantasy You do do you gotta get lost in something life is too serious So anyways, those are my non Pilates books that I can recommend to you right now
- 14:12[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I have gotten into a new author.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, recently his name is Edward W. Robertson.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_03]: Do you want to see me to W?
- 14:21[SPEAKER_03]: His last name is so long.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_01]: He has written 73 books.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_03]: There are 73 books in the series.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_01]: There are no.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_01]: He's written multiple series about different things.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_01]: But I have read 14 books of his so far.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_01]: There's a whole nother one.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_01]: No, I've read 17 books of his.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_01]: So I've read the cycles.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_01]: He's got three cycles of Galonde, Iran, and Scour.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_01]: And basically, they are perfectly in line with the other books I've talked about over the years in this pod.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_01]: They are definitely fantasy.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_03]: Like we all have time.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_01]: That's Robert Dorden.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_01]: And there's another author, I'm a big fan of Michael Michael J.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_01]: What's his last name, Sullivan, Michael D'Selvin, but this is Edward W. Robertson, and what I really enjoyed about this was he's also created his own dynamic duo of these unlikely heroes, their kids in this, they start off in their late teens, and they end up becoming major players on the world stage over the length of these 10 books in the one series.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_01]: The one cycle series is kind of the precursor to it, another one is a double precursor to it.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to tell you over while I'm people when you said 14 books, I'm very so kind of 17.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, just listen to them.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't matter.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_01]: It's not even about that.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_01]: It's not about finishing them.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_01]: There's just something really enjoyable about them.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_01]: I think I think I went through them in like six or eight months because they're shorter than the will time stuff.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_01]: You know.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_03]: Well, there you go.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_03]: And so there are your books.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_03]: You guys get lost in a book.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_03]: I promise you it's it makes it a lot of it.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_03]: It's so much more fun.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_03]: You're like, you're a different person on the other side.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, and also if you don't want to spend money on it, go to your public library.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_03]: You get a library card.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_03]: You can actually get audio books and iPad books through your local library.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, you can.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_01]: If you have any questions for us, you should text them to us.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_01]: Text them at 310905 5534 or you can send them in through be it pod.com slash questions be it pod.com slash questions where you can leave a win or a question and leave some wins.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_03]: I want to share them on the pot.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, let's talk about Brad Bizjack.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_01]: Well, stick around.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_01]: We'll be right back.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to talk about Brad Bizjack and we're going to be reinvigorated by his enthusiasm for life.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_01]: The guy is just amazing.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_01]: So can't wait.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_01]: Stick around.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome back.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_01]: Let's talk about Brad Bizjack.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_01]: Brad is a personal development expert and coach who helps people rewire.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_01]: limiting beliefs, toxic thought patterns and emotional blocks that have been holding them back from success and the fulfillment that they deserve.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_01]: After starting his career, buried in $92,000 worth of debt and struggling for years to get his business off the ground, Brad discovered the power of shifting identity and mindset.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_01]: Today he has built a multi-million dollar business, served over 70,000 people worldwide and teaches others how to break free from perfectionism, procrastination, and fear so they can step fully into their potential.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_01]: And I gotta say, there's nothing more be it than the things that he's teaching, it's amazing when you dig in.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_01]: And Leslie and I have been, we have gone through two of his programs,
- 17:32[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he's got a program starting next week.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah literally next week.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and it's it's free.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_01]: It's free.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you should totally do it.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_01]: Free program.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_03]: We started there and it also it's like happens in the morning for us so obviously and the, you know, it's Be your not in Pacific.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_03]: It's not early morning.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_03]: It's going to be so other time.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_03]: But it was really nice to start in the way we go for a dog walk and just be
- 17:55[SPEAKER_03]: like, let up on this dog walk and you're like, yeah, I'm ready.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_03]: And I, anything you say, like, oh, I can't do, I don't know.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_03]: Or I got this, I can't do it.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_03]: I'm stuck.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_03]: I won't know how to do it.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_03]: Well, he really kind of like breaks down, like some of these stories we tell ourselves.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_03]: And one of the things he says is like, when you know what you want and why you want it, the how reveals itself.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_03]: When you know what you want and why you want it, the how reveals itself.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because it, because I think that's, I think most of the things that why, yeah, but I think the easiest thing for people to get stuck on is, how am I going to do that?
- 18:27[SPEAKER_01]: I might as well not even try.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_03]: right because but also i think they they know one of the two but not both like they know why they want to do something or they know what they want to do but they don't know both and they're why is so superficial because i want to make money and it's a good people why do i want to make money like you got to like why do you want to do it like i told the story in the UK about like
- 18:51[SPEAKER_03]: why I, I love to teach Pilates, you know, like what my mission is, why is my mission this?
- 18:57[SPEAKER_03]: And then Linda was like, can you repeat that?
- 19:00[SPEAKER_03]: And it was like, really cute.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_03]: It was like long story.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_03]: But the whole thing is like, I'm so passionate about what that is, it makes it the how does reveal itself because opportunities come up.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, or like people say say something and you're like we'd a minute.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_03]: That is an entirely different industry.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_03]: But I could do it.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_03]: Like the how are we able to our tours happen because we knew what we wanted to do, we knew what we wanted to do it.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_03]: And then this person over here is like, I want to go in a book.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_03]: I'm like, how can we go on a book tour?
- 19:24[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_03]: So like I really, really love that.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_03]: And then we talked about like he believes we get so caught up and seeking the how, but so I'll take action.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_03]: And so it's just procrastination in disguise.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_03]: And then he said this occurs because of overvaluing certainty.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_01]: And this is like, this was like a mic drop, you know,
- 19:51[SPEAKER_01]: that having certainty is going to help us move forward.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_01]: But when we before we get to the place where we feel certain we get stuck.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_03]: Or we he said like we take little actions because we're very certain we can do those little things.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_03]: But we don't take the big actions because we don't know what's going to happen with those.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_03]: We don't know how that's going to play out or what the
- 20:15[SPEAKER_03]: outcome will be so we're like oh I'm just going to keep checking the box check my email responded to these people posted on social but we're not no one's actually like okay i'm going to do a class i'm going to do pulleys and peanut like at the bottom like because you're like if no one comes like i need to make sure everyone's going to be there i think of certain and oh my god when we study with him we did this five-day series that you you can do next week we did a couple years ago and when he told me about certainty and perfectionism i fucking
- 20:43[SPEAKER_03]: was like, I felt so called out.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_03]: I was like, oh my god, this is my problem.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_03]: I was like recovering perfectionist, but then I like let certainty in there and certain he's just perfectionist, guys.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_03]: So anyways, I have, I really love this man so much and he said, we base our worth on external success leading to a feeling of burnout or that nothing feels like enough.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_03]: and I think this happens a lot.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_03]: In fact, on an OPC call today, one of the girls who's going through a teacher training so that she feels like burnt out on Pilates, and, you know, she's doing this thing.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_03]: And we were talking about how, like, because when you're in a training program, there's a lot of corrections, like the teachers are correcting you a lot, because they want you to know all the things.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_03]: They don't want you going off thinking you're perfect at it.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_03]: They want you to know how to do it.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_03]: It's all this external success, like, okay, when I look like the hundred I have made it versus this internalization of like the Pilates practice like the focus and a teacher training is so external what is the exercise look like can you do it well that you end up feeling burnt out and like nothing's ever enough like you're not good enough to do this and so I
- 21:54[SPEAKER_03]: Just this just happened an hour before we had the record on this and I feel this so so much because we're like waiting for someone to validate who we are and what we're doing.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_03]: Instead of ourselves like an internal version of like.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_03]: what successes I love this.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_01]: So just so that you all know we actually have an invitation for you to join Brad's program, the five day program for free.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_01]: That's called the Success Accelerator and it starts in just a few days.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_01]: So it's 20th.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_03]: So it's this is Thursday.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_03]: It's going to start on Monday.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_01]: The links in the show notes, but you can go to be at pod.com slash success.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_01]: And like I said, it's free.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_01]: Leslie and I did this program and it was really, really impactful for us.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so Brad said, I just love that you had to clarify, Brad has been versus Brad Bizjack on the call.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_01]: The, yeah, I was laughing.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_03]: I know because I think it was, sorry, and I think my Brad has been.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Brad said, hey, change does not take a long time to do.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_01]: It actually happens in an instant.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_01]: when you have the leverage to create that change.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_01]: For example, people in painful relationships who know they should take different action, but they don't until something happens and all of a sudden the lever is actually pulled, right?
- 23:11[SPEAKER_01]: That leverage comes from changing at a higher, more fundamental level than just behaviors or capabilities.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_01]: You can say when you have to change, when you are forced to change, right?
- 23:30[SPEAKER_01]: That's actually where lasting change comes above the line of lasting change, I don't know why, like, I don't basically
- 23:38[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, it's because like people often like change and they do a little thing and they go back they like it's like if there's a line and like you've got to cross the line and and people think, oh, it's going to take forever to make this change like it's going to take forever to create a habit and so they think it's going to take forever to create a habit and they do it for two days and they have on the other side of not having to have it and then they have a couple days of the habit and then it's actually like.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_03]: No, if you know who you want, why you want it and you make the decision to change, you can actually change it because it's an emotional thing in your brain that does this.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I personally experienced this kind of requirement for change.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_01]: This must change or bad things will happen when it came to smoking cigarettes.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_01]: And everyone talks about how dicting, you know, nicotine is and they're not wrong, because unless you absolutely have to change, you probably won't because it is a dicting and it will pull you back in, but I was singing and I was in a band and I was smoking cigarettes and I remember being on stage coughing into the mic because I couldn't sing my own songs that I had written and it became immediately clear that day.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_01]: I have to choose
- 24:50[SPEAKER_01]: Do I want to keep smoking or do I want to keep singing?
- 24:52[SPEAKER_01]: And that was like so easy to decide because I was like, well, I love singing.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_01]: I love being in a band.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_01]: So therefore, goodbye smoking, you are gone.
- 25:00[SPEAKER_01]: And that was it.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_01]: That was the moment of, I made it above the line of the last thing change.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_01]: And also too, sure, did I still have these moments of like habit of like when I used to, where I would be smoking on the card right
- 25:20[SPEAKER_01]: You know, where it was just a regular consistent thing and I was missing that.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, but because it was it like an easy thing to know I actually want to sing I want to sing more than want to smoke in those moments of trial.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_01]: It was still easy for me to fall back on the decision I had made because it was an emotional decision.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_01]: I was terrified of the idea that I wouldn't be able to perform.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_01]: You know, so, you know, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're
- 26:08[SPEAKER_01]: We love a callback.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that was impactful for me and and these are the kinds of things that Brad addresses, you know on the the five days.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, definitely go check that out.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_03]: Just think that like if you are if you were lit up at all by his episode.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_03]: Why not?
- 26:25[SPEAKER_03]: It's free.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_03]: There's a reply.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_03]: It's like why wouldn't even if you watch one day of his stuff next week, you're going to learn something about yourself.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_03]: That's going to change your life.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_03]: I still think about the things that we learned in those five days.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_03]: Even if we didn't pay for the program, I still like I was forced to like level up in a way.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_03]: Like I was like it was great.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, this success accelerator, and then we went on to do another program of his called Rewire to After, but yeah, but the success accelerator was absolutely worth it.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_03]: And especially if you just like are going, if you just have a hard time not to talking yourself down, you need someone in your ear who talks you up.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_03]: You just do.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_03]: Anyways, we got to get to the media action.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, okay, stick around, we'll be right back, we're going to dig into these epic
- 27:14[SPEAKER_01]: We'll be right back.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_01]: All right, finally, let's talk about those.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_01]: Be an action item.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_01]: What bold, executable, intrinsic, or targeted action items can we take away from your combo with Brad?
- 27:24[SPEAKER_01]: This Jack, I'm gonna jump in first here.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_01]: He said, he shared three primary ways to shift any belief pattern.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_01]: And these are the things where I was talking about the half to do.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_01]: So it was really interesting.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_01]: He said, you can introduce the idea of doubt.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_01]: You can introduce pain.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_01]: or you can introduce vision, right?
- 27:40[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that vision is probably the easiest to talk about.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_03]: That's the one that we... It fulfills more positive.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_01]: It does feel more positive.
- 27:48[SPEAKER_01]: You know, but doubt is something that will challenge a worldview.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_01]: You know, when you have doubt or when doubt is introduced, it really does start to make you analytical.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_01]: analyze the thing that you might be doubting, you know, whether that is the way you were raised or we've always done it this way or this is the quote unquote right way to do it or the right thing to do, you know, maybe there are other things that, you know, that cause doubt.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_01]: He suggests that looking for evidence that challenges those beliefs, for example, if you think money is super hard to make, you can ask yourself the question,
- 28:22[SPEAKER_01]: But is, is that true for everyone?
- 28:24[SPEAKER_01]: Some people have the, the, the golden touch as it were, right?
- 28:27[SPEAKER_01]: We've all heard that, that expression.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_01]: Well, if money isn't hard to make for them, why?
- 28:32[SPEAKER_01]: How come it's easy for them, but difficult for me?
- 28:34[SPEAKER_01]: Called and quote difficult for me, right?
- 28:36[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe that's the story I'm telling myself, right?
- 28:38[SPEAKER_01]: So how do we change that belief since we have evidence that it's, that other people have been able to do it?
- 28:44[SPEAKER_01]: All right, so that's an interesting idea of introducing the concept of doubt.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_01]: Two, pain.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_01]: He said,
- 28:49[SPEAKER_01]: If you can see the consequences of what happens if you don't change and actually live those consequences in your mind, you will start to change this was my lived experience paying it right I did not want the pain of not being able to perform not being able to sing and I could see a life that I did not want if I kept going down the path that I was going out when it came to cigarettes right he used the Christmas Carol story as an example for this screwed you didn't want to make unbearable pain.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_01]: didn't want to make change until unbearable pain was linked to staying the same, right?
- 29:20[SPEAKER_01]: That's the Christmas story vision.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_01]: Finally, explain that the your beliefs shift when we create a vision that is vivid enough to excite us into new action, right?
- 29:31[SPEAKER_01]: So, so like this is where a dream board can come into play or you know vision casting or you know reflection or
- 29:40[SPEAKER_01]: to yourself, to dwell on what the future could look like for you, that can be motivating enough to create lasting change to put you above that line of change.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_01]: He said, when we can be compelled by a beautiful vision of the future, it gives us a reason who overcome procrastination or whatever it is that's holding us back.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_01]: So I loved that.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_01]: I thought that was actually, I mean, these are the kinds of things that he just blows by and why we wanted to talk about him again, because I listened to it and I was like, whoa, that was, that was a lot right there.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_01]: That was probably like, you know, he probably studied for like six to 12 months to be able to
- 30:27[SPEAKER_01]: When you listen back to the pod, there's so many snippets like that where you're like, well, that was profound.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that was deep.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that was really worth listening to twice.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_01]: What about you?
- 30:35[SPEAKER_01]: What was one of your biggest takeaways?
- 30:37[SPEAKER_03]: So you have to be compelled by a beautiful vision of the future.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_03]: You really do have to take that smile like to do our retreats.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_03]: I like to do some breath work and I actually think about a year.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_03]: Now, do you need a beautiful vision of the future?
- 30:49[SPEAKER_03]: Because that's so compelling.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_03]: And he also say the other way to a default to focusing on the past
- 30:56[SPEAKER_03]: sure and it's why you're not actually seeing change because the past and the present don't like that's that's done and if you keep repeating it you just get to keep repeating them but it often becomes more painful because you didn't like you liked part of it or we didn't like it all and like now here you're feeling a little stuck.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_03]: He also his bold advice is to have under reasonable dreams and reasonable
- 31:19[SPEAKER_03]: unreasonable.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_03]: And I do it's really hard for my brain to do unreasonable dreams.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_03]: It's extremely hard, but also like it does force you to think about how you're going to achieve that in a different way, because it's so easy to go back to.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_03]: We talked with that any bitty stuff.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_03]: And like thinking it's going to make a big difference when really it's just keeping you the same.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_03]: You kind of have to have an unreasonable dream because it helps you take bigger action.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_03]: And then he said taking full response
- 31:48[SPEAKER_03]: Taking full responsibility, making that happen.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_01]: Wait, say that one more time.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_03]: Taking full responsibility for making that happen.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_03]: Whenever I do my schedule workshop or my habits workshop, the amount of people that are responsible for the reason why someone can't go for a walk in the morning.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you mean the amount of excuses for other people are the problem.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_03]: Other people are not the person who has not the person who has allowed people to take advantage of them or they've been doing too much for other people or they simply just didn't have like the vision in place to take the act.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_03]: It's okay.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_03]: It's okay to have gone like, oh my god, I never realized I wanted to do that and I have been making time for that.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_03]: Like, it's okay.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_03]: You didn't, you know, when you know, but you do better.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_03]: So now he's got to take full responsibility for making that happen.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I love that, I love the, this is this is step three or the third, you know, way to create change, you know, with the vision casting, you know, and I think it's scary to dream big in that way to have an unreasonable dream, it can be really scary because, you know, you, I, I, this is part of my story on our business, why we, you know, when you don't,
- 33:05[SPEAKER_01]: When you don't dream big, what you're actually doing is you're giving yourself an out to fail and be satisfied with the results of the fail.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_01]: And that's where I think the problem is, I think it's important to fail.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_01]: You must fail.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_01]: But we associate failure with mediocrity and pain, instead of learning knowledge and a step further along the path towards success.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_01]: When we associate failure with pain and mediocrity, it's easier not to have a vision for the future, because then you can't experience that quote-unquote pain, right?
- 33:47[SPEAKER_01]: And I know I did this because I would leave myself and out and say things like, it'll be nice if that ever happened for me.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, but then it's like, I would love for that to happen.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_01]: for us.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_01]: But there's an inherent comma.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_01]: But if it doesn't, I guess it, it's okay.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_01]: I guess it was meant to be that this, it wasn't the right time.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever, whatever it is, the phrase that we want to insert there.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_01]: And the reality is, it's not until you go.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_01]: But even when,
- 34:18[SPEAKER_01]: Even if it doesn't happen tomorrow, or if it doesn't, you know, the failure will that will happen along this path.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to persist.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to get to that place.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I hear something.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_03]: I think a lot of people weren't given the opportunity to fail.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_03]: That's not the world that most of us went to school under.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_03]: You had a pass and if you didn't pass, you were like, it was not okay.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_03]: So like, I think if you are having a hard time being having an unreasonable goal or failing, then you must go be a part of
- 34:48[SPEAKER_03]: You are going to hear that even Brad hasn't hit a single goal in six months or six years I think six years six years has I've had a single maybe it's eight now at this point since we met like and it's not because he hasn't tried hard or had great success
- 35:03[SPEAKER_03]: it's because he sets unreasonable goals from self to make himself work hard to the last time and then they like reflect upon what they like why they maybe didn't hit those goals but like what they did do and it's just really, really cool.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_03]: So be it pod.com slash success, go take it, go re-listen to the episode get fired up.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_03]: Let us know if you sign up for this program.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_03]: We want to know.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_03]: We want to probably even see you there.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're going to do it too.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I love the classes.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_03]: So at any rate,
