- 0:53Speaker 1: And we got a very special guest today. I want
- 0:56Speaker 1: to claim him as Atlanta's own, but he wasn't more
- 0:59Speaker 1: in Atlanta, so I'm not sure if I can. But
- 1:02Speaker 1: the Infamous dropped a boy already a little out to
- 1:06Speaker 1: the Atlanta. Yes, sir, born and raised man I think
- 1:12Speaker 1: the first time I found out that you weren't from Atlanta,
- 1:14Speaker 1: I was like, what, he's not from Atlanta? How everybody
- 1:18Speaker 1: to be like that? Because I was here since I
- 1:20Speaker 1: was nineteen, so I was, you know what I'm saying,
- 1:22Speaker 1: fresh out of college. You know what I'm saying. One
- 1:24Speaker 1: of the first songs that I did was pop their pussy,
- 1:26Speaker 1: make them get their money right, Make them get their
- 1:28Speaker 1: money right. We came in the game like young enough.
- 1:32Speaker 1: I wouldn't even old enough to get in the strip club,
- 1:34Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. But I had one of
- 1:35Speaker 1: the strip club anthems, and you know what I'm saying,
- 1:37Speaker 1: just got embraced like Jazzy fag here he from Memphis. Um,
- 1:41Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. It was. It was just
- 1:43Speaker 1: like so many different connections. My brother was cool with jazz,
- 1:46Speaker 1: so I would always end up going the noontime and
- 1:49Speaker 1: bumped in the till bumping the Jeezy, bumped in the Gucci.
- 1:52Speaker 1: It was just always a reason being Alma. Speaking of that,
- 1:55Speaker 1: you have, you have so many legendary records. You you
- 1:58Speaker 1: were bragging on Instagram, which you serve every moment to
- 2:01Speaker 1: do that. I saw that you posted I think it
- 2:03Speaker 1: was Jeezy and his biggest record with his most streams
- 2:07Speaker 1: is the record you produced. And then who who else?
- 2:09Speaker 1: Who was the other person you post? I forgot the
- 2:11Speaker 1: other person was Wilder? You know what I'm saying. No
- 2:15Speaker 1: record was the biggest record that streamed on that particular platform.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Nothing has beat that record in the whole of last years.
- 2:24Speaker 1: So you were talking to that, Oh yeah, you know,
- 2:29Speaker 1: we still ain't nobody topped us, you know what I'm saying,
- 2:31Speaker 1: letting us and went by the whole decade. So you
- 2:33Speaker 1: know what I mean. It's just a blessing to be
- 2:35Speaker 1: able to be a part of those records and to
- 2:37Speaker 1: be able to wait, wait, wait, let's talk about how
- 2:40Speaker 1: I want to say confident. You are so cool and mellow.
- 2:43Speaker 1: You never really like you don't have to brag. I
- 2:46Speaker 1: guess you know, uh, you have so many songs that
- 2:50Speaker 1: you have produced, legendary records, and you just so cool.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Like in these day, in this day and age when
- 2:56Speaker 1: people are always bragging and you know, talking smack on
- 3:00Speaker 1: the social media, you really don't say anything. You just like,
- 3:03Speaker 1: look a look at the plaques behind you, like there
- 3:07Speaker 1: ain't no regular thing. A little black a little I
- 3:10Speaker 1: got there. We're talking about the Walker record. I pulled
- 3:12Speaker 1: up this one home. I'm a little bit. I'm glad
- 3:15Speaker 1: I waited there on three million records. Now keep going,
- 3:18Speaker 1: come on, keep going. This just can't shout out to
- 3:22Speaker 1: my boy. Wow, I ain't never had no glucim ain't
- 3:24Speaker 1: plaque all the records I did with Google up. So
- 3:27Speaker 1: I had to order this when I was like, I
- 3:28Speaker 1: ain't even realized this record, win goal and record is this?
- 3:34Speaker 1: This is uh the State versus Roger Davis. I produced
- 3:37Speaker 1: classical and shout out to Coach Kakes. Coach k called
- 3:41Speaker 1: the Blee Club from from Spellman, So that's who the
- 3:47Speaker 1: shout out to the Glee Club spell Man, Um, that's
- 3:51Speaker 1: who we're saying on that. This is no one I
- 3:53Speaker 1: just got. Ain't wrapped this, ye NBA, young boy. More
- 3:57Speaker 1: recent I did. We're popping on that featuring bird Man
- 4:01Speaker 1: until the del called her name project. But Yo, it's
- 4:05Speaker 1: a blessing to be able to deliver and come through
- 4:07Speaker 1: for the guy man. And I don't I don't really
- 4:09Speaker 1: be popping off like that because when you come from Stacks,
- 4:14Speaker 1: when you come from Motown, when you come from Isaac
- 4:18Speaker 1: Hayes in my living room, al Green. We come from
- 4:20Speaker 1: the church, were like everybody in Memphis. We come from
- 4:23Speaker 1: that church. I grew up in the church, so that's
- 4:26Speaker 1: where the music come from for me. And everybody was
- 4:30Speaker 1: just so humble and personal. Like if you look at
- 4:33Speaker 1: Michael Jackson, Michael Jackson, the biggest who, the biggest who,
- 4:36Speaker 1: bigger than Michael Jackson, No, how humble was he? Now,
- 4:41Speaker 1: he were too humble? You know what I mean? You
- 4:45Speaker 1: know what I mean. But I just want to say
- 4:46Speaker 1: thank you. I want to and nan see, when you
- 4:49Speaker 1: have grace, it's called grace. One thing to have confidence,
- 4:53Speaker 1: but it's another thing to have grace and to just
- 4:55Speaker 1: be graceful. Because when you really do what you do,
- 4:58Speaker 1: when you really always you who you say you are,
- 5:00Speaker 1: you don't have to do all that. Some people have
- 5:02Speaker 1: to pop off just to bring that attention. My attention.
- 5:05Speaker 1: I get through the music. I don't even have to
- 5:07Speaker 1: say not until y'all just make the music and y'all
- 5:09Speaker 1: you need Oh yeah boy A year boy came from
- 5:14Speaker 1: my rap. I was rapping on the gainst the booth feature. Yeah,
- 5:17Speaker 1: I was rapping on the doing a feature for gamester
- 5:19Speaker 1: Boot and that those were my lives. So behind my wraps,
- 5:23Speaker 1: I always be a year what like just turned up,
- 5:26Speaker 1: Like you know what I'm saying, that's that's that's like
- 5:29Speaker 1: the call. When people hear me say that in front
- 5:31Speaker 1: of a record, they know what time to be. You
- 5:33Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. I could be in the I
- 5:35Speaker 1: could be in the middle of Memphis and some ship
- 5:37Speaker 1: go down and be like, hey, yeah, what motherfucker's gonna
- 5:40Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. So she was like, man,
- 5:43Speaker 1: you need you there food and we ran with it.
- 5:46Speaker 1: A signature I know that I can say like when
- 5:48Speaker 1: I was in high school, my my prime time days,
- 5:51Speaker 1: my club chocolate days. Hearing that drop, we knew we
- 5:56Speaker 1: was about to write something or recite some thug As lyrics.
- 6:01Speaker 1: We just knew it was about to go down. Yeah. Absolutely,
- 6:05Speaker 1: But Jazz it would always tell me, Man, put your
- 6:08Speaker 1: tag on that, mom, Man got the be vocal man,
- 6:10Speaker 1: you know what I mean, Like if you look at
- 6:12Speaker 1: the vocal producers that I'm the ones, you Knowdre Kanye,
- 6:17Speaker 1: Swiss Beach, you know what I mean, Like Travis Scott,
- 6:21Speaker 1: you know what I mean, Tyler the Creator, Like you
- 6:24Speaker 1: know what I'm seeing any producer that really like step
- 6:26Speaker 1: on the other side of the microphone. It just put
- 6:28Speaker 1: us in a different line. Like the more I've been
- 6:30Speaker 1: rapping out and made over a million dollars rapping them,
- 6:32Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, Like that's a whole other budget,
- 6:35Speaker 1: endorsement deals and all kind of now that you're in
- 6:38Speaker 1: front of the scene, Oh damn, you drunk, You drunk,
- 6:41Speaker 1: you drunk. Putting the face with a name has been
- 6:43Speaker 1: a thing for me to pass three or four years.
- 6:45Speaker 1: I actually love that because I feel like the list
- 6:47Speaker 1: that you just named, I don't feel like any of
- 6:49Speaker 1: those people are real big braggers, Like they really just
- 6:52Speaker 1: let the work do the talking. You don't got it
- 6:55Speaker 1: cloud when your work does what it needs to do.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Oh yeah, you know, we we park when when necessary,
- 7:01Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. And you know I say
- 7:03Speaker 1: that that Memphis mentality. I try to say that for
- 7:07Speaker 1: when it's needed, when it's necessary, you know what I mean,
- 7:10Speaker 1: and just stay in a I'm happy. I love what
- 7:13Speaker 1: I do, so I'm always in a good mood. And
- 7:15Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying that it ain't never been
- 7:16Speaker 1: no no reason. I feel like a level of stunting
- 7:20Speaker 1: is looking down upon so you can you can stunt
- 7:24Speaker 1: and feel good. You can talk ship and feel good.
- 7:27Speaker 1: And when I do that, or I might say something
- 7:28Speaker 1: on the Instagram, pop my ship. I'm just doing that
- 7:31Speaker 1: in a in a you know this field good. It's
- 7:33Speaker 1: not directed towards nothing or talking down upon other producers
- 7:38Speaker 1: that haven't done what I've done. I'm picking producers up.
- 7:41Speaker 1: I started producers way, we got our royalty loops sample
- 7:45Speaker 1: loop website. Now giving back to the community, the producers,
- 7:48Speaker 1: and giving them some of my key ingredients sounds, uh
- 7:51Speaker 1: that I've always used and man, we you know, just
- 7:54Speaker 1: always dedicating a spotlight. We'll do right back with more
- 7:59Speaker 1: of the boiler Alert shall really listening to a special
- 8:09Speaker 1: edition of The Baller Alert Show already man salute while alert.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Drummer Board you've always been You've been saying, we this
- 8:15Speaker 1: whole interview, and um, we as in your team. So
- 8:19Speaker 1: let's talk about your team because I know drummer Board
- 8:22Speaker 1: Fresh has a team. Oh yeah, talk about that. Man,
- 8:27Speaker 1: Graphics pr you know, public relations set up this interview
- 8:33Speaker 1: with us today. Um, you know, I tell guys its
- 8:37Speaker 1: producers man or artists spend some of that money that
- 8:40Speaker 1: you make back on your stuff and promote what you
- 8:43Speaker 1: got going. Yeah you want Jez album, Yeah you want
- 8:47Speaker 1: Walker Flucker album, And it will be producers who got
- 8:49Speaker 1: bigger songs on these albums than I did. I didn't
- 8:52Speaker 1: stand in ovation well because I had a publicist. Because
- 8:55Speaker 1: I had that pr they took me in a different
- 8:59Speaker 1: realm where other guys weren't getting that spotlight attention because
- 9:02Speaker 1: they simply weren't putting that money on themselves. So a
- 9:05Speaker 1: pubs has been has been very essential for me. My
- 9:08Speaker 1: management squeaked collecting the money, following up with the labels, hassling,
- 9:14Speaker 1: you know, the guys that are a little late making payments,
- 9:18Speaker 1: you know what I mean, or you know, making sure
- 9:20Speaker 1: that the contracts are proof reread, you know, making sure
- 9:24Speaker 1: that everybody's tied in the the lawyers tied in with
- 9:29Speaker 1: their lawyer and you know, the agreements and everything in place.
- 9:33Speaker 1: So it's it's it's definitely like a squad and it's
- 9:38Speaker 1: been a blessing to just you know, have that guy's
- 9:41Speaker 1: from my older brother in St. Wayne R. I p
- 9:44Speaker 1: ain't good dude, And a lot of times when I
- 9:47Speaker 1: say we I'm speaking on the family, the legacy of
- 9:51Speaker 1: Big Bro and his folk kids, his folk grand babies,
- 9:54Speaker 1: you know what I mean. So I got a whole
- 9:56Speaker 1: of state thing going that we build, and uh and
- 10:00Speaker 1: and and look at your talent. I can really see
- 10:06Speaker 1: why you have longevity. I mean you you seem very humbule,
- 10:10Speaker 1: you know, and and the work definitely speaks for us.
- 10:12Speaker 1: So let's talk about your mama being a part time
- 10:15Speaker 1: opera singer. How we go from being in the house
- 10:18Speaker 1: listening to opera to producing the ship that you produce? Now,
- 10:21Speaker 1: how did we get there? Because Mama was a chameleon,
- 10:26Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. Mama knew how to get
- 10:27Speaker 1: in front of white America, Black America, corporate middle class,
- 10:34Speaker 1: Section eight. We everywhere with it. So Mama would be
- 10:37Speaker 1: in the arpora. But then she she was in the
- 10:39Speaker 1: Baptist church choir as well. You know what I'm saying.
- 10:42Speaker 1: She's singing Isaac hay Is and Al Green Temptations and
- 10:45Speaker 1: Marv and Gamee whatnot. You know what I mean. It's crazy.
- 10:48Speaker 1: She started off putting her wound to the stomach playing
- 10:51Speaker 1: Michael Jackson Temptations. Should be like, man, you start kicking
- 10:54Speaker 1: when I played Michael Jackson. So I have music coming
- 10:58Speaker 1: through my ears before I'm even on, you know what
- 11:01Speaker 1: I mean, And that I used to have dreams of
- 11:03Speaker 1: making beats or just something I always playing in my head.
- 11:06Speaker 1: And it used to be nightmares until I learned how
- 11:08Speaker 1: to make beats and get it out of my head,
- 11:11Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So it's crazy, like Mama
- 11:13Speaker 1: was just a cool uh pam Grid type of woman,
- 11:19Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, That Pa and grif Field,
- 11:21Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, coming to the the house singing
- 11:23Speaker 1: and then she'll jump into some opera whatnot. And she
- 11:25Speaker 1: met my dad at the University of Memphis. My mom
- 11:28Speaker 1: was the first bachelor's music degree, the first black African
- 11:33Speaker 1: American woman to get to meet her music degree from
- 11:36Speaker 1: University of Memphis. You know what I'm saying. So she
- 11:39Speaker 1: met my dad taking my brother in St. Wayne to
- 11:43Speaker 1: saxophone lessons. My dad played clarinet, taught clarinet at the
- 11:47Speaker 1: University of Memphis. Also music. It's just it's just everywhere.
- 11:52Speaker 1: I ain't hand no choice grad where I go. It's
- 11:54Speaker 1: like might pop over here in the orchestra, mom, over
- 11:56Speaker 1: here in the opera, you know, what I'm saying, that
- 11:58Speaker 1: big bro in the streets. So I'm hanging around Big
- 12:01Speaker 1: Brow a day, probably like around teen eleven twelve, I
- 12:05Speaker 1: just started being with him every day. And now I'm
- 12:08Speaker 1: starting to see studios and you know what I'm saying,
- 12:11Speaker 1: I'm you know, we're playing pool, listening to balling g
- 12:15Speaker 1: or you know, three season Mafield player Fly against the Black,
- 12:19Speaker 1: you know what I mean. He said, playing fly come
- 12:26Speaker 1: on ma M three mane all day and uh you
- 12:29Speaker 1: know that that that gave me a lot of work,
- 12:32Speaker 1: you know, just working with all the guys from Memphis,
- 12:34Speaker 1: working with the upcoming scene. Money bag Yo young Dolf
- 12:38Speaker 1: Yo Gotti. I came up with Gotta you know what
- 12:40Speaker 1: I'm saying, bumped into him when I moved to Cordova,
- 12:43Speaker 1: you know what I mean. He started getting familiar with
- 12:44Speaker 1: the North Memphis. IM from South Memphis. Like around fourteen fifteen,
- 12:48Speaker 1: I moved to Cordova, which the suburbs like Cordova right
- 12:51Speaker 1: there about Riley Millington with justin Timberlake at you know
- 12:55Speaker 1: what I mean. So that put me in a different
- 12:57Speaker 1: area where now the whole city and is familiar. And
- 13:01Speaker 1: after that passed the trust out of reaching out Big
- 13:04Speaker 1: Block reached out on the boys in the hood. After that,
- 13:07Speaker 1: Jeez went solo. Standing Ovation was my first platinum plaque,
- 13:11Speaker 1: and then from there Berdman Money to Blow, Rocko, I'm
- 13:15Speaker 1: gonna do me, uh apply shanty, keep going to chains,
- 13:22Speaker 1: I'm running around. I'm getting it. You know what I mean. August,
- 13:26Speaker 1: I've seen a no Love. You know what I mean.
- 13:29Speaker 1: We come with the remix featuring Nicki Minaj. You know
- 13:32Speaker 1: what I mean. Jeezy White Girl, I put on lose
- 13:35Speaker 1: my mind. You know, it's flexing, just so many different
- 13:41Speaker 1: records that just just coming back to back walking, flocking,
- 13:43Speaker 1: no hands um and then you know, looking at my
- 13:46Speaker 1: dad for the me goes um and then we're popping
- 13:50Speaker 1: for NBA Young Boy and just boocool plethora of street music,
- 13:56Speaker 1: DJ drama, Oh my day dreaming. Oh man, it's so
- 14:02Speaker 1: many records. I can't even keep up, and it's so crazys.
- 14:07Speaker 1: It's wild because people don't even know the half of
- 14:09Speaker 1: what you've done. Like I think, if anybody thinks of
- 14:12Speaker 1: drummer Boy, especially from my time, they're probably thinking of
- 14:15Speaker 1: your older records. But to hear that you are still
- 14:18Speaker 1: in the lab with these new cats and it's it's
- 14:21Speaker 1: so refreshing, it's it's it's on trend, it's on time.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Like you are so talented to be able to evolve
- 14:29Speaker 1: like that, because we all know hip hop changes. The sound,
- 14:32Speaker 1: the foundation the same, but the sound of hip hop
- 14:34Speaker 1: changes with every generation, and you, my guy, are are
- 14:38Speaker 1: consistent as fun. Man, I think I had to cheat
- 14:41Speaker 1: code being in the game and like fifteen, you know
- 14:44Speaker 1: what I mean. So I'm on the thirty seven. So
- 14:48Speaker 1: having that twenty years in the game is still in
- 14:51Speaker 1: my thirties is like I think a little little part
- 14:54Speaker 1: of the cheek cool as well as having relationships with
- 15:00Speaker 1: pretty much everybody. You know what I'm saying, and you
- 15:03Speaker 1: know when you're cool, and people know that you ain't
- 15:05Speaker 1: no big talking as loud mouthfast, very humble, respectful person.
- 15:10Speaker 1: People trust you differently, you know what I'm saying, like
- 15:14Speaker 1: and as well as respect you differently. So I think
- 15:16Speaker 1: my respect level of trust is in a different area.
- 15:20Speaker 1: And you you you said something perfect with se What
- 15:22Speaker 1: seguatees me to ask you this question, is boy gonna
- 15:26Speaker 1: do with versus? And if you did do a versus,
- 15:29Speaker 1: who would be a person of interest? Because we heard.
- 15:32Speaker 1: We all heard. DJ Drama said if I do it,
- 15:36Speaker 1: I'm gonna do it with DJ Clue. So now, drummer
- 15:39Speaker 1: Boy Fresh, if you were to do a versus versus
- 15:42Speaker 1: a producer, who would it be? Man being from Memphis,
- 15:47Speaker 1: an't want known versus to send me my paperwork. We've
- 15:49Speaker 1: been talking about this as I posted. I said, anybody
- 15:51Speaker 1: who wanted, whoever ready, whenever they were ready, let's get
- 15:55Speaker 1: it on. You know what I'm saying. But I would
- 15:57Speaker 1: say to making interesting coming from Memphis, it's only to
- 16:01Speaker 1: two cats who can even even saying. Drama said like
- 16:05Speaker 1: be close to hanging with me and that that would
- 16:07Speaker 1: be Jazzy Faith, which we did it already on Welcome
- 16:11Speaker 1: to dream Land. So we can run that back, uh
- 16:15Speaker 1: or Juicy Jake? What about what about? Say told him
- 16:23Speaker 1: we did that before, and we can run that back
- 16:25Speaker 1: to you know what I'm saying, be in my showcase
- 16:27Speaker 1: a couple of years back. You can remembers. Yea, we can.
- 16:30Speaker 1: We can run that back. Was before the verses though, Yeah,
- 16:33Speaker 1: we can run it back. Let's do it on the
- 16:35Speaker 1: Lives on the live scale. It's no problem. We can
- 16:39Speaker 1: run it back. You can bring somebody do. It's no
- 16:42Speaker 1: problem many fresh man listen. It don't matter to me.
- 16:48Speaker 1: It's it's gonna be a big gass history lesson. I
- 16:50Speaker 1: know that. So the mom is gonna be comment through
- 16:53Speaker 1: that moment down, drone down, drowne down. You really got
- 17:00Speaker 1: those bangers like Niggas is really still playing standing ovation,
- 17:06Speaker 1: they still playing put on the just still playing the
- 17:09Speaker 1: record and what What's what's crazy? What's crazy is I
- 17:12Speaker 1: could take I could take a catalog from two thousand
- 17:14Speaker 1: and fifteen up to now and still be you know
- 17:18Speaker 1: what I'm saying, there's so many records. Yeah, you ain't
- 17:21Speaker 1: even familiar that I've done recently or like in the past.
- 17:25Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. Do you hear songs and
- 17:27Speaker 1: be like, oh, such and such made that? Can you
- 17:30Speaker 1: hear a beat and know which producer did it? Uh? Sometimes? Okay? Sometimes?
- 17:38Speaker 1: You know what I mean. The way the way people
- 17:40Speaker 1: copying and paste and medy and copying loops and ship
- 17:43Speaker 1: like now, it's it's it's hard to distinguish because the
- 17:46Speaker 1: sound is all like the same right now, everybody makes
- 17:50Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, Everybody got similar style beach
- 17:53Speaker 1: right now, like the producer that sticks out to me
- 17:56Speaker 1: right now is here before pet Boys in his own
- 18:00Speaker 1: on like you know what I'm saying, he just went
- 18:02Speaker 1: straight to the club got Zilly. When I hear club
- 18:06Speaker 1: guy Zill, I know there's a club guy zilla be
- 18:09Speaker 1: you know what I mean, Because it's new, it's fresh.
- 18:11Speaker 1: He coming with his own flavor. Even if everybody, like
- 18:14Speaker 1: all of us, were infused with something, you know what
- 18:18Speaker 1: I'm saying. But it's just especially when you hear somebody
- 18:22Speaker 1: like nobody did that when three six Mafia sound was out,
- 18:27Speaker 1: when they was coming with that ship Juicy J, DJ
- 18:30Speaker 1: Pau like, man, nothing sounded like that. When Drama Board
- 18:34Speaker 1: was coming out, Ain't nothing sound like that? Then it's
- 18:37Speaker 1: it's the whole world making trap. Now we started trapping.
- 18:40Speaker 1: This was some ship he started. I'm a founder of
- 18:42Speaker 1: trapp Bro. You know what I'm saying. Trap was a
- 18:45Speaker 1: location when we was coming up every by the time
- 18:47Speaker 1: I crank music, you know what I'm saying, then fingers
- 18:51Speaker 1: snap music. You know what I'm saying. We was on
- 18:55Speaker 1: trap ship because this is where we was at. I'm
- 18:56Speaker 1: in the trap, I'm I'm I'm I'm off Elvis President
- 18:59Speaker 1: and in South mempers My. You see saying I'm I'm anyway.
- 19:06Speaker 1: That that's that's the difference with me. I'm anywhere in
- 19:10Speaker 1: the United States. No, you are in entrenches, you know
- 19:16Speaker 1: what I mean, as well as the top corporate headquarters,
- 19:20Speaker 1: you know what I mean, and and delivering results. And
- 19:24Speaker 1: that's that's what it's about for me. Making these kids smile,
- 19:27Speaker 1: motivating these kids to get into music, motivating these kids
- 19:30Speaker 1: to learn how to play keyboards and learning music theory
- 19:35Speaker 1: and making beats. Beats is away out now, you know
- 19:39Speaker 1: what I'm saying. Like we we started, the people was hooping,
- 19:43Speaker 1: playing basketball, going to college, everybody making beats now, everybody
- 19:48Speaker 1: making music now. So it's it's a blessing man, It's
- 19:51Speaker 1: it's flattery to see the whole world. You did the moonwalk,
- 19:53Speaker 1: and you see the whole world doing the moon walks.
- 19:55Speaker 1: And I keep going back to Michael Jackson. That's how
- 19:57Speaker 1: I feel like, I don't know, I don't know. Oh
- 20:00Speaker 1: my generation on the Michael Jackson making beats. We'll be
- 20:02Speaker 1: right back with more of the Baller Alert Show. Back
- 20:07Speaker 1: to the Baller Alert Show starting Ferrari Simmons and Sues
- 20:12Speaker 1: so long. So when you feel the current state of production.
- 20:17Speaker 1: I think it's interesting because it's making people be creative,
- 20:20Speaker 1: Like you know what I mean? Even for me, Okay,
- 20:22Speaker 1: I jump into the reggae world, still give you a
- 20:24Speaker 1: top team. We're gonna do a recordar Depth to Depths
- 20:27Speaker 1: and Debbie though the Vito. You know what I'm saying,
- 20:30Speaker 1: Like it's it's about the versatility and being able to evolve.
- 20:34Speaker 1: And when you make music when you can read, write, arranged, composed,
- 20:38Speaker 1: is nothing I can't make. I can make genres when
- 20:42Speaker 1: I when I feel like it. You know what I'm
- 20:44Speaker 1: saying that, Like, that's what we do is push the limit.
- 20:46Speaker 1: The for Rel's, the Justice Leagues, um Man, Hit Board,
- 20:51Speaker 1: even Wheezy. You know what I'm saying, Big fan Man.
- 20:54Speaker 1: So many producers I love eight or eight Mafia, the
- 20:58Speaker 1: whole Mafia squad. You know I'm saying, like where it's
- 21:01Speaker 1: a it's a lot of producers that I give credit
- 21:03Speaker 1: to this that's doing anything. Murder beats Now that you
- 21:07Speaker 1: said something. Was there ever a time artists made it
- 21:11Speaker 1: hard for you to work with them? Um? I would
- 21:14Speaker 1: say one particular time, but you know he need getting
- 21:16Speaker 1: the booth, So how could I work with you hein't
- 21:18Speaker 1: need getting the booth, and we was trusting, you know,
- 21:21Speaker 1: everybody just coming through, coming through, dropping hooks like Verse
- 21:24Speaker 1: City and I mean Verse Simmons and rock City and
- 21:28Speaker 1: Man all the jazzy fade and just book whose songwriters.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Everybody coming through, everybody getting in the booth. But you
- 21:35Speaker 1: you know what I mean. So it's a little difficult occasion.
- 21:38Speaker 1: But I showed made some hits out of the sessions.
- 21:43Speaker 1: It took some of them ruggords and placed some other places,
- 21:45Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. But you know what I'm saying.
- 21:47Speaker 1: I don't even want to tell know names, but it
- 21:49Speaker 1: was it was you know, he only had one song
- 21:51Speaker 1: for real, and you you know what I'm saying. We
- 21:54Speaker 1: never we never seen much of that. So so for
- 21:58Speaker 1: the for the most part, when when someone gets drump
- 22:03Speaker 1: my board in the studio, it's more of an easy
- 22:06Speaker 1: uh you know, things to kind of like the vibe
- 22:10Speaker 1: is good. Oh yeah, it's an lu man, because I
- 22:13Speaker 1: got concepts, I've got ideas, you know what I mean,
- 22:15Speaker 1: And I know how to shut the funk up and
- 22:17Speaker 1: lay low. If you see a motherfucker already in his
- 22:20Speaker 1: in his rhythm, you know, what I mean, like Gucci Man.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Gucci Man is sometimes be like, man, what you got drunk?
- 22:25Speaker 1: And then someday he'd be like, whoa, you know what
- 22:29Speaker 1: I'm saying. You gotta know when the when to be involved.
- 22:32Speaker 1: And then when the you know what I'm saying, she
- 22:34Speaker 1: go over here roll you know, you know what I'm saying.
- 22:40Speaker 1: But the one thing about Gucci like but he knows
- 22:42Speaker 1: what I'd like to eat, give me the same thing
- 22:44Speaker 1: you're getting drunk. We make sure we eat the folk
- 22:46Speaker 1: sessions like it's it's always a vibe. You know what
- 22:48Speaker 1: I'm saying, and I you know what I'm saying. We're
- 22:50Speaker 1: cracking jokes. We sit in the tone. Always respect the
- 22:53Speaker 1: guys that know what they want. Even Jesus Jesus be.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Me and Jeez never worked in an actual room together
- 23:01Speaker 1: until the past three years. So we would always pull
- 23:05Speaker 1: up at the McDonald a, man, let me work with
- 23:07Speaker 1: your g and let me come bring my ship in
- 23:09Speaker 1: there and cook up on the spot. No, man, just
- 23:11Speaker 1: put it on CD for me. But then but then
- 23:15Speaker 1: the same the same we gotta see shot of Red
- 23:17Speaker 1: in the more any day, you know, say and me
- 23:20Speaker 1: and shot the Red. I always joke about this ship.
- 23:22Speaker 1: That's another one of my dogs. Man salute the shot
- 23:24Speaker 1: of Red I love you my name, uh man. It
- 23:27Speaker 1: was just like main't shout and there was all the time,
- 23:30Speaker 1: man maint moving the room over. Let me coming up too.
- 23:33Speaker 1: We ain't getting them cookoover. They don't get fun bait.
- 23:35Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. We'll be playing around like that.
- 23:37Speaker 1: But I send Jesus to ship through CDCAU. I bump
- 23:41Speaker 1: into jes that McDonald's drop off, a little tent piece,
- 23:43Speaker 1: a little six pieces whatever, Bam, keep it pushing. Here
- 23:46Speaker 1: hit me back, hey, standing Ovation, you know what I'm saying.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Or here hit me back. You hear the song. You
- 23:55Speaker 1: hear the songs after the fact, after the fact, you
- 23:58Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. Instead of Ovation, I had acapella,
- 24:00Speaker 1: so I made the beat around his acapellas on standing Ovation, Well,
- 24:04Speaker 1: I put on It was like nick I heard the
- 24:07Speaker 1: song on the fucking radio. Miss shaw Nika comes on like,
- 24:10Speaker 1: oh ship my boy, Joma boyd and did it again right,
- 24:14Speaker 1: And you never heard it until then, never heard it.
- 24:17Speaker 1: And I heard Kanye come on and jay Z hopped
- 24:22Speaker 1: on there too. Jay Z was on the remix, but
- 24:25Speaker 1: just that first moment when I heard it on the radio,
- 24:28Speaker 1: Dog I put on for my city. Man, He's like, Bro,
- 24:31Speaker 1: that's man. I'm telling my chills coming through now. Like
- 24:33Speaker 1: it was just crazy moment, Bro, I'm that field. How
- 24:37Speaker 1: did that feel when you heard that? Bro? I felt
- 24:40Speaker 1: like Lebron? Where were you at? I felt like Lebron
- 24:44Speaker 1: when he won the ring Cleveland? You he took you
- 24:48Speaker 1: home and did after the after the coach was talking
- 24:52Speaker 1: all that ship, the owners was talking all that ship.
- 24:54Speaker 1: When I went to Miami and wanted them reach then
- 24:57Speaker 1: I came back like a man, like an honorable man,
- 25:00Speaker 1: and that I fucking am and still won't come back
- 25:02Speaker 1: to my hometown to get y'all aren after y'all talked
- 25:04Speaker 1: to all this ship about me. You know what I mean? Bro,
- 25:07Speaker 1: that's bro. I felt like that, Like Nigga, what what
- 25:10Speaker 1: I was saying? What you're saying? What? What? What do you? What?
- 25:14Speaker 1: Do you there? Two million in that bank? Two million
- 25:19Speaker 1: in the bank at one time, Just like you start
- 25:23Speaker 1: walking different, talking different. You smell good, you look good,
- 25:27Speaker 1: you just feel good. It is what it is. Yeah,
- 25:29Speaker 1: I always smelled good, look good with man. You know
- 25:31Speaker 1: what I'm saying, ship, they just put more fuel in
- 25:35Speaker 1: the fire. You know what I'm saying. And expensive, Yeah,
- 25:39Speaker 1: you know now I'm in Now, I'm in Miami kicking
- 25:42Speaker 1: ship now, I mean l a kicking ship with the
- 25:44Speaker 1: big dogs. You know what I'm saying. Now, nigg is
- 25:46Speaker 1: sending me bottles and ship I bumping the puff, sending
- 25:49Speaker 1: bottles to my tables and ship there where we go.
- 25:51Speaker 1: When the record come out, Rick Ross sending about it
- 25:54Speaker 1: like I'm in Florida, Haitians main the Dominicans. Columb means,
- 26:00Speaker 1: I mean, it's it's like, you know what I'm saying,
- 26:02Speaker 1: drop my boy, drop my boy. My blooo, it's you
- 26:07Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. It's it's now it's like anything
- 26:10Speaker 1: you need blah blah blah. It's like armies everywhere I
- 26:15Speaker 1: go for real, any city, Man, what you need? What
- 26:18Speaker 1: when we got you? Like know what I'm saying, And
- 26:20Speaker 1: it's it's always been like, it's just an elevated level
- 26:24Speaker 1: of Is that a confirmation that for drummer Board that
- 26:28Speaker 1: was your biggest record. That's one of my personal feelings.
- 26:32Speaker 1: That's that's what makes my adrenaline rush, Like we work
- 26:35Speaker 1: out for that music like to see how many athletes
- 26:38Speaker 1: and whatnot, like you know, no hands is for the ladies,
- 26:41Speaker 1: Like that's the girls. Yeah, we made our turn up.
- 26:43Speaker 1: We made your dad and ship that's y'all. Moment I
- 26:46Speaker 1: put on was that moment for us, like it made
- 26:48Speaker 1: anybody feel like what, no matter where you from, you
- 26:53Speaker 1: put on for your city. You did that for your city,
- 26:56Speaker 1: You did that for your block, You did that for
- 26:58Speaker 1: your hood, you did that for your commun unity or
- 27:00Speaker 1: whatever it is. You know what I'm saying. Even if
- 27:02Speaker 1: you charitable moments or whatever, just putting your time in.
- 27:06Speaker 1: How doing you put your time in and paid your dudes?
- 27:09Speaker 1: That's that's that's the song for you. And we all
- 27:11Speaker 1: pay dude some kind of way in in a in
- 27:13Speaker 1: a certain territory, even if you ain't from their mother
- 27:16Speaker 1: for it. Like ship, I put on for Atlanta, tooth
- 27:19Speaker 1: and then I put on for men, I put on
- 27:21Speaker 1: for l A, I put on the floor. I put
- 27:23Speaker 1: on in a lot of cities. Now I put on
- 27:25Speaker 1: for the Globe because I'm global. I'm put on for Africa.
- 27:28Speaker 1: I'm putting on for Jamaica. I'm putting you know what
- 27:30Speaker 1: I'm saying. So it just elevates you put on for
- 27:34Speaker 1: Atlanta so hard, like I literally thought you were from Atlanta. Okay,
- 27:39Speaker 1: I went to Ready High School. I lived on full Ford.
- 27:42Speaker 1: The Geezy love for me was very real, like I
- 27:45Speaker 1: had a Jazy sticker in the middle of my steering wheel.
- 27:48Speaker 1: Like everybody knew. We did not play about Jez, especially
- 27:51Speaker 1: in full Ford. So here you on so many of
- 27:54Speaker 1: his records, and and some of our favorite ones were
- 27:57Speaker 1: really from you. It was difficult to get way from you.
- 28:00Speaker 1: It was different. And the only reason why I'm on
- 28:04Speaker 1: Jeez so much like that is because he was on
- 28:07Speaker 1: our sound with me coming out of Memphis. When I
- 28:11Speaker 1: first met Jeezy, first thing he said to me, Hey, nigga,
- 28:15Speaker 1: I ain't gonna lie that ship you got damn got
- 28:17Speaker 1: guddy on Crazy. When you see me shouting, pop your collar,
- 28:22Speaker 1: then you holler, that's what's up? What up? Mama? Hey?
- 28:26Speaker 1: What drama? So still gets played right now. A lot
- 28:29Speaker 1: of the songs that you created still get played. I
- 28:33Speaker 1: put on Crazy in the club when that's all people
- 28:37Speaker 1: from everywhere, they're throwing up Chicago, wherever the hell they're from.
- 28:42Speaker 1: I've seen it. Have the whole compound go crazy from
- 28:45Speaker 1: front to back. Your songs are still doing it for
- 28:48Speaker 1: for the coma, for me my song, Yeah, but it
- 28:52Speaker 1: was them horns though. So the horns boys I had already.
- 28:56Speaker 1: If you go back and listen to That's What's Up,
- 28:58Speaker 1: That's what's so we did in two thousand three, you
- 29:01Speaker 1: know what I mean? Like, you know what I mean.
- 29:02Speaker 1: You gotta think. Okay, I'm I'm in high school, man, Yeah,
- 29:06Speaker 1: like I'm two thousand three. Bro, So okay, that's what's up.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Come out and it was like, man, me and God
- 29:13Speaker 1: are being able to have that momentum coming out of Memphis. Bro.
- 29:16Speaker 1: I came up with, Yo, gotta you see what I'm saying,
- 29:19Speaker 1: I'm working with God in the inevitable entertainment. A lot
- 29:23Speaker 1: of people ain't even familiar in ever to entertainment. I
- 29:26Speaker 1: need you know what I mean, Like, I'm in Memphis
- 29:28Speaker 1: stomping with I've come up with the guys from the
- 29:31Speaker 1: fucking ground zero. You're the young guy in the room
- 29:33Speaker 1: about man, I added that particular time, because you're what
- 29:36Speaker 1: nine absolutely absolutely and making hits. So we're stomped through
- 29:41Speaker 1: the streets. This would put me through the streets of Tennessee, Mississippi. Arkansas, Houston.
- 29:47Speaker 1: Then I work with Teler. I did three songs on
- 29:49Speaker 1: Teela Double Dose album. So I do that. This is
- 29:53Speaker 1: two thousand and four. This is before Jesus and of
- 29:56Speaker 1: that music and never even hit, you know what I'm saying.
- 29:59Speaker 1: Then I'm get one with Blumby and Gainst the Boot,
- 30:03Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, Sipping and spinning. Then I
- 30:05Speaker 1: did a song with Jody Breese and Slim Thug called
- 30:10Speaker 1: Stacking Paper Man. I love Jody Breeze. I don't know why, Um,
- 30:14Speaker 1: he doesn't get the flowers he deserves from from others.
- 30:18Speaker 1: But I'm a big Jody bream Yeah, man, Jody Joe
- 30:21Speaker 1: to get his flowers. You know what I'm saying. It's
- 30:22Speaker 1: just the real ones. No, you know, Jody was Jody
- 30:24Speaker 1: was a blessing. You know what I'm saying. It was
- 30:26Speaker 1: just it's just the business. You know, it's this game
- 30:29Speaker 1: is a business game. But um, after Stacking Paper I
- 30:34Speaker 1: did a song for Scarface at nineteen Calls Never Never.
- 30:44Speaker 1: It was on his May album. So you gotta think,
- 30:47Speaker 1: like you know what I'm saying. When I'm in that
- 30:49Speaker 1: Lounta and I really get next to Jesus, he was
- 30:53Speaker 1: just like bro, Like, man, that ship you got Gudy
- 30:57Speaker 1: on Man, I just made the other ship cool. But
- 31:00Speaker 1: that ship you got with God I need that because
- 31:02Speaker 1: God Jeezy was a fan of horns. And when I
- 31:05Speaker 1: was doing standing Ovation and making that beat, I rode
- 31:09Speaker 1: from Patwork all the way to Stone Mountain listening to
- 31:11Speaker 1: Trap of Down and it was like, Bro, this the
- 31:14Speaker 1: only sound he got in every beat was horns. So
- 31:19Speaker 1: standing Ovation that was the first sound that I put
- 31:22Speaker 1: behind his vocals. Was the moment, you know what I mean.
- 31:27Speaker 1: Legendary producer Chucky T recently expressed how important it is
- 31:32Speaker 1: to really understand the people you're working with. You know,
- 31:35Speaker 1: do your research on them, create a genuine relationship with
- 31:38Speaker 1: them so you understand how to work with them for them,
- 31:41Speaker 1: and how to really elevate their sounds. So it sounds
- 31:44Speaker 1: like you. You do that, You do your absolutely it's crazy.
