Speaker 1: For everybody who doesn't follow me on social media. I'm
• 0:02
Speaker 1: announcing my new stand up tour. It's called Vaccinated and
• 0:05
Speaker 1: a Horny. That's referring to me and I have some dates.
• 0:10
Speaker 1: We have a pre sale that is on sale right now.
• 0:13
Speaker 1: If it's still the pre sale, the password is horny
• 0:17
Speaker 1: to get tickets. If you miss the pre sale, just
• 0:19
Speaker 1: go get your tickets. I'm coming to a city near you.
• 0:21
Speaker 1: I'm coming everywhere, you guys, everywhere. So I'm really excited
• 0:25
Speaker 1: and I can't wait to see everybody. So there's that.
• 0:29
Speaker 1: Here we are on another beautiful, sunny, glorious Californian too
• 0:33
Speaker 1: hot day, Brandon. I know it's really warming up quickly.
• 0:36
Speaker 1: It's hot because global warming is happening and a California
• 0:40
Speaker 1: seems to be melting. No, you're gonna be fucked because
• 0:44
Speaker 1: there will be no ice left now. There's no ice left,
• 0:47
Speaker 1: by the way, the ice in the fridge weaves that
• 0:48
Speaker 1: weird taste in your mouth in the main al. Yeah, yeah,
• 0:51
Speaker 1: it's a problem with I know. Can you mention how
• 0:53
Speaker 1: disappointed I am? Very Yeah, it's getting very, very hot,
• 0:57
  Speaker 1: and I don't like the heat. I don't like it
• 1:00
Speaker 1: when it's hot hot. People think l A is like
• 1:02
Speaker 1: some paradise, but it's much hotter than it used. People
• 1:05
Speaker 1: forget that it's basically a dessert here. Yes, it's a desert,
• 1:08
Speaker 1: you're right. I forget that. I that it's like tropical. No,
• 1:11
Speaker 1: it's sucking hot. Yeah, and everything is brown and arid.
• 1:15
Speaker 1: I want on a hike the other day, and I
• 1:17
Speaker 1: wanted Sarah Silverman's and it's brown. Everything is brown, brown, brown,
• 1:21
Speaker 1: brown brown. There's no lush greenery, even though I always
• 1:25
Speaker 1: forget to California is the desert, and I think of
• 1:27
Speaker 1: it as green because everywhere I live because they bring
• 1:29
Speaker 1: the greenery in and then it's so expensive to maintain. Yeah, right, right, unbelievable.
• 1:35
Speaker 1: I'm having a diet coke right now, you guys. I
• 1:37
Speaker 1: couldn't help my donald's. Yeah, I had to, you guys.
• 1:39
Speaker 1: I had a really really late night last night, so
• 1:42
Speaker 1: we did stop at McDonald's muffin. I got a sausage McMuffin,
• 1:46
  Speaker 1: which I love and I haven't had one since I've
• 1:47
Speaker 1: been home, sweetheart, and hash brown, which I just want
• 1:51
Speaker 1: to smash my face into. That's how delicious it is.
• 1:53
Speaker 1: So I like to get a sausage, egg and cheesewick muffin,
• 1:56
Speaker 1: the hot cakes and two hash Brown's. That's my hangover
• 1:59
Speaker 1: me hot cakes. Yes, they're pancakes, taste cake. I don't
• 2:04
  Speaker 1: give a ship about pancakes. I don't care. I don't.
• 2:08
  Speaker 1: I don't think I've had a pancake. We're going to
• 2:10
Speaker 1: have one. Oh no, no, no. I don't care about pancakes.
• 2:12
Speaker 1: Maybe blueberry if they were stuffed with blueberries. But I
• 2:15
Speaker 1: don't care about pancakes at all. I don't want French toes.
• 2:18
Speaker 1: I don't want pancakes. I want eggs and cheese and
• 2:20
Speaker 1: like fry. You know, is when you get as sweet
• 2:23
Speaker 1: craving you have to have like you will scour the
• 2:26
Speaker 1: house for anything sweet, But I default to sweet. I
• 2:28
Speaker 1: don't care about. My favorite chocolates are called Toby Tobin's
• 2:31
Speaker 1: and they're dark, dark chocolate, sea salt on them, and
• 2:35
Speaker 1: Brandon has a box of them for me at the
• 2:38
Speaker 1: house all the time, and he hides them because I
• 2:41
Speaker 1: can't control myself. But they have these. They're so fucking good.
• 2:44
Speaker 1: They make this turtle. Any of their nutted chocolates, don't
• 2:48
Speaker 1: say nutted, Oh my god, they nutted chocolates, any of
• 2:51
Speaker 1: their chocolates Turtle. By the way, when you're talking about chocolate, well,
• 2:54
Speaker 1: they're best the Nutcluster. They're best that I've had is
• 2:57
Speaker 1: their Rocky Road. It is delic But did you tell
• 3:00
Speaker 1: the woman that I just want the ones with the
• 3:02
Speaker 1: nuts in that? Yes? I sent an email, But why
• 3:04
Speaker 1: does she keep giving me the ones that? Because they're
• 3:06
Speaker 1: pre their boxes. So the boxes that we get are
• 3:08
Speaker 1: predetermined because they come in different sizes and they have
• 3:11
Speaker 1: the chocolates that they put in those boxes, so they're
• 3:13
Speaker 1: made up and ready to go. So I let her
• 3:15
Speaker 1: know that we wanted to customize a Chelsea Handler. Yeah, yeah,
• 3:19
Speaker 1: I think it's time that priority. She knows I'm like
• 3:21
Speaker 1: her best probably your best customer in town. She's very grateful.
• 3:24
Speaker 1: She sends very nice messages. She loves nay Hi Toby.
• 3:28
Speaker 1: I should follow chuck her out at the Malibu Country Mart.
• 3:31
Speaker 1: You will not regret it. Oh wait, is that where
• 3:33
Speaker 1: she is in Malibu? Yeah, they moved from Brentwood. They're
• 3:35
Speaker 1: in Malibu now. Their stores really cute. I really just
• 3:39
Speaker 1: want weed update. Well, this is week for Weed. This
• 3:43
Speaker 1: is week four, Brandon. I'm losing track. Well because you've
• 3:46
Speaker 1: done so well. There's not been any issues. Really, you've
• 3:49
Speaker 1: not lost it, Okay. I'm just I thought it would
• 3:52
Speaker 1: be more excited that I was able to accomplish four
• 3:54
Speaker 1: weeks of no Pianovius smoking, and I don't feel excited.
• 3:57
Speaker 1: I'm just like, okay, well you have strong will hour.
• 4:00
Speaker 1: So I think that's part of it too, that it
• 4:02
Speaker 1: really for me, at least from the outside, it was
• 4:04
Speaker 1: never going to be that much of a feat because
• 4:06
Speaker 1: you've done it before, you could do it again, and
• 4:09
Speaker 1: it's not like heroin or crack. We're like, oh my god,
• 4:11
Speaker 1: I have to have this, like get through my day.
• 4:13
Speaker 1: It was a nice booster. But now you're gonna be
• 4:15
Speaker 1: able to enjoy it again and it won't take you
• 4:18
Speaker 1: twenty five milligrams to feel high, right exactly. So yeah,
• 4:21
Speaker 1: I'll be lightheaded. I have to be very careful about
• 4:23
Speaker 1: my intake. I'm gonna start micro doosing up two point
• 4:25
Speaker 1: five milligrams. Yeah, just just start. I'm just gonna start
• 4:28
Speaker 1: all over again. Just pretend it's all over again, like
• 4:32
Speaker 1: your weed virgin. You know. I think I'm just done
• 4:35
Speaker 1: with it, Like I want to smoke now. It's like, okay,
• 4:37
Speaker 1: I did it. I showed you, Okay, but I was
• 4:39
Speaker 1: at my girlfriend's the other night and it was hard
• 4:42
Speaker 1: because there were people smoking joints and I was like, wow,
• 4:44
Speaker 1: I really want one, and I just had to literally
• 4:46
Speaker 1: walk away. So you're getting the weed cravings now, well
• 4:48
Speaker 1: it's not. No, it wasn't the weed craving. It was
• 4:50
Speaker 1: like the social aspect of it. I wanted to be
• 4:52
Speaker 1: part of it, but you wanted to get stones, you know,
• 4:55
Speaker 1: like I wanted to be like stoney baloney, but with people. Yeah,
• 4:59
Speaker 1: because there are times people will do it on their
• 5:01
Speaker 1: back patio by themselves. Some brand just sent me a
• 5:04
Speaker 1: huge thing of new joints. So as soon as I
• 5:07
Speaker 1: break this, that's where I'm headed. That's nice to have
• 5:09
Speaker 1: that to look forward to. Yeah. Blazy lazy something they're
• 5:12
Speaker 1: called lazy Susan. Is it blaze Susan? Thank you, Lazy Susan.
• 5:16
Speaker 1: Speaking of cravings, do you have cravings when you get stoned?
• 5:19
Speaker 1: Because you often talk about women get the muncheese, and
• 5:22
Speaker 1: I always associate that, like I feel like I have
• 5:24
Speaker 1: pregnancy cravings when I'm stoned. I always kind of want
• 5:26
Speaker 1: the same things. You have, things that you go to,
• 5:28
Speaker 1: like McDonald's del taco. Obviously, I love McDonald's breakfast if
• 5:33
  Speaker 1: I'm hungover, So that's a morning morning tree. You wouldn't
• 5:37
Speaker 1: have that at night when No, no, no, they don't
• 5:40
Speaker 1: serve breakfast at more civilized that they do. This is
• 5:43
Speaker 1: this is a new development for for you maybe, but
• 5:46
Speaker 1: they actually started doing all day breakfast probably like two
• 5:49
Speaker 1: years ago. So now you can get your sausagea McMuffin,
• 5:52
Speaker 1: your hotcakes, which discussed you, but really excite me at
• 5:56
Speaker 1: any time, so it may be a good late night. No. No,
• 5:59
Speaker 1: I'm going to just keep out where it is in
• 6:00
Speaker 1: my head because I don't need to add anything else
• 6:02
Speaker 1: to my repertoire. I don't have anything in the house
• 6:05
Speaker 1: that's even fun to eat except for my Toby Tobe
• 6:07
Speaker 1: and chocolate. So even when I get stoned, I don't
• 6:09
Speaker 1: it's not about the food because there's nothing there. I
• 6:12
Speaker 1: have turkey, and I have tomatoes, and I have egg
• 6:15
Speaker 1: whites and chocolate. Well, you really do yourself a service
• 6:19
Speaker 1: in that way by keeping everything very clean in the house.
• 6:21
Speaker 1: But there's nothing worse than when you are stoned and
• 6:24
Speaker 1: you really want something, And well, what about if you're
• 6:27
Speaker 1: me and you don't even know how to operate Postmates,
• 6:29
Speaker 1: and so you're really stoned and you do want a
• 6:31
Speaker 1: meal and you can't even do it. You know, benitos tacos,
• 6:36
Speaker 1: that's a good one. Last time I got really stoned,
• 6:39
Speaker 1: I made leave I drive to get it because it
• 6:41
Speaker 1: was out of the delivery zone. And that's he knew
• 6:43
Speaker 1: I needed it badly. Fry taco shells and the reason
• 6:47
Speaker 1: why they're so delicious. So they have like carnitas and
• 6:51
Speaker 1: then they have beef shredded. It's all, and they have
• 6:54
Speaker 1: the chicken. But at that point you might as well
• 6:57
Speaker 1: just go for it because it's dipped in oil and fried.
• 6:59
Speaker 1: It's like you're not trying to get chicken over beef.
• 7:02
Speaker 1: At that point, you might as well just get the
• 7:03
Speaker 1: cancer straight away. I v it. As you can see
• 7:08
Speaker 1: by that part of the conversation that we have some
• 7:10
Speaker 1: unhealthy habits, but also I've been on this nutritional I
• 7:16
Speaker 1: really do hate using the word journey now that it's
• 7:18
Speaker 1: been set up that we shouldn't be using it. Sometimes
• 7:21
Speaker 1: it's the only word that works well. We need to
• 7:22
Speaker 1: come up with a replacement word then, because journey is
• 7:25
  Speaker 1: just is too it's overused and it's I can't this
• 7:28
Speaker 1: nutrition experience. I don't know how that works either, but
• 7:31
Speaker 1: anyways of it maybe. Yeah, so we haven't healthy happits.
• 7:34
Speaker 1: We're going to talk to our nutritionist Mark today. We're
• 7:38
Speaker 1: gonna talk about some body image issues, things that we
• 7:41
Speaker 1: all seemingly he's done with. Yeah, he's been my nutritionist
• 7:45
Speaker 1: since I was I think the first time I saw
• 7:46
Speaker 1: him was when I was twenty seven and forty six,
• 7:49
Speaker 1: so I've known him for twenty years and Brandon's have
• 7:51
Speaker 1: recently got on the band wagon with him as well.
• 7:53
Speaker 1: It's a good way to engage in like healthy clean
• 7:56
Speaker 1: eating and living, and it kind of reframes your logic
• 7:58
Speaker 1: around food and the way you kind of think about
• 8:01
Speaker 1: what you're putting into your body. He always talks about
• 8:03
Speaker 1: food as fuel and I'm like, oh, shut up, but
• 8:08
Speaker 1: it's so true. It's like it is fuel. Like Larry
• 8:10
Speaker 1: David had a quote where he said, whatever you're eating,
• 8:13
Speaker 1: it is either helping to keep you alive or helping
• 8:15
Speaker 1: to kill you. And I think that's that's really interesting. Well,
• 8:20
Speaker 1: today we're going to have people calling in writing in
• 8:23
Speaker 1: about body dysmorphia. We have an interesting submission about being
• 8:27
Speaker 1: a gluttonist, someone who has really unhealthy eating habits. And
• 8:30
  Speaker 1: I'm like that, I have that, I have. I have
• 8:32
Speaker 1: aspects of my personality that are gluttonous. If I have
• 8:34
Speaker 1: a piece of food in my car, it ends up
• 8:36
Speaker 1: in between my legs, stuck to my jeans. I watched
• 8:38
Speaker 1: a video the other day of this woman saying about
• 8:40
Speaker 1: her you know, eating habits, being gluttonous, and that she
• 8:43
Speaker 1: will verbally tell herself these are here, I don't need
• 8:46
Speaker 1: to eat them all in this sitting like you can
• 8:48
Speaker 1: come back for these, It's okay to put them away.
• 8:51
Speaker 1: And as simple as that sounds like, I would eat
• 8:54
Speaker 1: an entire fucking bag or container of oreos, thinking like
• 8:57
Speaker 1: who else is going to eat these before I get
• 8:59
Speaker 1: back to them? So, yeah, I don't like finishing things
• 9:02
  Speaker 1: like that. I don't. I'm not going to finish a
• 9:03
Speaker 1: container of oreos like that. That doesn't make me. Then
• 9:06
Speaker 1: I'm like, WHOA, I fucking lost the plot. Yeah, and
• 9:08
Speaker 1: that's a lot of my life, so I gotta get
• 9:11
Speaker 1: on track. Yeah. Well, I guess that's that's why you
• 9:13
Speaker 1: just don't get it. You don't have it around. If
• 9:14
Speaker 1: you don't have it around, it does work that way,
• 9:17
Speaker 1: I'm not gonna have something in my kitchen that I'm
• 9:19
Speaker 1: not going to eat or demolish when I'm you know, weak,
• 9:22
Speaker 1: I get it. Well, let's take a quick break and
• 9:24
Speaker 1: then we will get into these submissions. So our first
• 9:28
Speaker 1: emission comes from Aramb She is twenty six, and she
• 9:32
Speaker 1: writes in Dear Chelsea, I have being diagnosed with body
• 9:35
Speaker 1: dysmorphia and an eating disorder, and short, I hate my
• 9:37
Speaker 1: body despite the fact that my body is technically considered
• 9:40
Speaker 1: desirable or ideal by the American beauty standards. I work out,
• 9:45
Speaker 1: eat healthy, wear clothes I like, but I can't find
• 9:47
Speaker 1: anything that helps. How can I learn to love my body? Yeah? God,
• 9:52
Speaker 1: it's really hard to love your body. I didn't start
• 9:54
Speaker 1: loving my body until I was like in my forties,
• 9:56
Speaker 1: and obviously everybody knows because I can't keep my top on.
• 9:58
Speaker 1: But body dysmorphia just so common among women. It's really
• 10:01
Speaker 1: really disenchanting to hear how many women struggle with positive
• 10:05
Speaker 1: body image and have eating disorders before you entered your
• 10:08
Speaker 1: forties and started to love your body. We're able to
• 10:11
Speaker 1: embrace your body before that. Much healthier about my body
• 10:14
Speaker 1: positivity now than I was when I was in my twenties,
• 10:16
Speaker 1: I had antraxianer vosa. You know, when you exercise exceedingly
• 10:20
Speaker 1: after you eat, just to burn all the calories. It's
• 10:22
Speaker 1: kind of like what you have right now, that's what
• 10:24
Speaker 1: And I had that. And I would go jogging for
• 10:27
Speaker 1: a minimum hour, possibly two hours every day, depending on
• 10:30
Speaker 1: how much I weigh that morning. I still weid myself
• 10:32
Speaker 1: every day, you know, because you packed me with a
• 10:33
Speaker 1: scale and report back. Yeah, And I let you know
• 10:36
Speaker 1: because the weight could be an indicator of my mood.
• 10:38
Speaker 1: It could really dictate my day. Like if I was
• 10:40
Speaker 1: going to be in a good mood, I was this way.
• 10:43
Speaker 1: If I was in a bad mood, it's three pounds heavier.
• 10:45
Speaker 1: Really really embarrassing stuff to even have to admit, you know,
• 10:49
Speaker 1: and so you don't admit it. You kind of hide
• 10:51
Speaker 1: it the whole time. I definitely went through a bollimic
• 10:53
Speaker 1: stage where I threw up for a while in my twenties,
• 10:56
Speaker 1: and that kind of drifted probably for the full decade
• 10:58
Speaker 1: of my twenties. I was just like, oh, I'll throw
• 11:00
Speaker 1: it up, Like you know, I had no regard for
• 11:01
Speaker 1: my well being, and so I finally just dawned on
• 11:04
Speaker 1: me that I have to actually be physically fit and
• 11:06
Speaker 1: strong and like I want to be, because you know,
• 11:08
Speaker 1: bliemia messes with your mental alacrity, like you become foggy
• 11:12
Speaker 1: obviously because you're depriving yourself of all the nutrients needed. Well.
• 11:15
Speaker 1: So much of this is also the media's representation of women,
• 11:18
Speaker 1: and I think that right now there's a real course
• 11:21
Speaker 1: correction happening where there are active participants in media trying
• 11:25
Speaker 1: to represent women accurately in appropriately so they don't feel
• 11:28
Speaker 1: this burden. But men also feel this way, and I
• 11:31
Speaker 1: don't know that's something men obviously don't speak about often
• 11:34
Speaker 1: amongst themselves, amongst each other, but there's definitely especially around
• 11:38
Speaker 1: l a you see it. It's embodied with these men
• 11:40
Speaker 1: who spend hours upon hours in the gym, or are
• 11:43
Speaker 1: so particular about their lifestyle habits, so they don't really
• 11:46
Speaker 1: give themselves leeway to enjoy life because they are so
• 11:49
Speaker 1: strict on their meal plans and their diet regimen and
• 11:52
Speaker 1: their exercise program. So I think that everyone struggles with
• 11:56
Speaker 1: this to some degree, but women certainly get the brunt
• 11:59
Speaker 1: of trying to make maintain an unachievable standard yeah, and Rum,
• 12:03
Speaker 1: you have to, like, it is your responsibility to get
• 12:05
Speaker 1: yourself healthy during this time. And even though that seems
• 12:08
Speaker 1: like you're climbing up a massive mountain, it is so
• 12:11
Speaker 1: important for you to get yourself together now. So whether
• 12:13
Speaker 1: that's like positive affirmations or meditating or you know, seeking counseling, Like,
• 12:19
Speaker 1: you have to get yourself out of this habit because
• 12:21
Speaker 1: it's just a rut and you are the only person
• 12:24
Speaker 1: who has the power to do it, and someone's not
• 12:26
Speaker 1: going to come along and be like you have to stop. Well,
• 12:28
Speaker 1: Rom's on the phone, so let's tell me that. When
• 12:31
Speaker 1: I was talking Hi Ram, Hi, Rom, you look like
• 12:37
Speaker 1: a Disney princess. Yeah, you're adorable. Oh my gosh, wow,
• 12:40
Speaker 1: thank you. Yeah. Did you get to hear anything of
• 12:42
Speaker 1: what I just said. No, we were just talking about
• 12:46
Speaker 1: how common this is. First of all, right, everyone deals
• 12:49
Speaker 1: with this. Like I was just talking about my personal
• 12:52
Speaker 1: history of eating disorders. When I was in my twenties,
• 12:54
Speaker 1: I was very unhealthy, you know, I was believing I
• 12:57
Speaker 1: had exercise in your vote. So I had a bunch
• 12:58
Speaker 1: of all this stuff and my friends and I would
• 13:00
Speaker 1: do it together. My friends and I would like throw
• 13:02
Speaker 1: up together. I remember in my twenties, like I had
• 13:04
Speaker 1: girlfriends who we were all believing together, like it was
• 13:06
Speaker 1: our drill, and he was talking about male feelings having
• 13:10
Speaker 1: the same feelings. How you know, prevalent is in the
• 13:12
Speaker 1: gay world, so it's not unique at all. And you
• 13:15
Speaker 1: are you are completely responsible for pulling yourself out of this.
• 13:18
Speaker 1: You know, you have to change the narrative. And it's
• 13:21
Speaker 1: so easy to make the change. I've done it, and
• 13:24
Speaker 1: it seems like it's so much harder than it is,
• 13:27
Speaker 1: Like it is so easy to pull yourself up, because
• 13:29
Speaker 1: once you start to pull yourself up, like everything starts
• 13:32
Speaker 1: to work out for you, and it's easier to get
• 13:33
Speaker 1: away from bad habits. Yeah, it's I mean, one of
• 13:36
Speaker 1: the things that makes it so incredibly difficult in in
• 13:40
Speaker 1: the United States at least, is it's so much of
• 13:42
Speaker 1: eating disordered behavior is seen as normal or or it's
• 13:46
Speaker 1: like glamorized or encouraged. I mean, I was shocked when
• 13:51
Speaker 1: I received my diagnosis last October because I didn't think
• 13:55
Speaker 1: anything of my symptoms. And like you said, I've got
• 13:57
Speaker 1: girlfriends who restrict and we talk about restricting or you know,
• 14:02
Speaker 1: eating disorder behaviors and it's no one thinks twice about it. Well,
• 14:07
Speaker 1: I think there's a movement happening towards healthy living that
• 14:10
Speaker 1: people often confuse with dieting, where those are not mutually exclusive.
• 14:17
Speaker 1: You can be someone who eats really clean but has
• 14:19
Speaker 1: you know, a terrible drinking problem, which obviously affects the
• 14:23
Speaker 1: quality of health in your life. Why are you staring
• 14:25
Speaker 1: at me when you say something like that, Well, you're
• 14:27
Speaker 1: just here. I mean, what is it? So your restriction
• 14:29
Speaker 1: you restrict yourself from food? Is that? Yeah? Okay? For days,
• 14:35
Speaker 1: just very minimal, Like I would go to cross fit,
• 14:38
Speaker 1: come home and have broth for dinner, right right, So
• 14:41
Speaker 1: it was just like I would just see how little
• 14:45
Speaker 1: I could do basically for as long as I could,
• 14:50
Speaker 1: or the bare minimum. But doesn't it make you think
• 14:52
Speaker 1: when you know it affects your mental like crispness and clarity,
• 14:56
Speaker 1: how does that make you feel? So I'm in recovery,
• 15:00
Speaker 1: and that's one of the things I do try and
• 15:02
Speaker 1: continue to tell myself, like, you don't want to go
• 15:05
Speaker 1: back to that melancholic state where everything just has this
• 15:08
Speaker 1: gray haze and you're miserable and anxious, and and you
• 15:13
Speaker 1: know that's what I try to hold onto. What makes
• 15:16
Speaker 1: it so difficult is I look in the mirror and
• 15:18
Speaker 1: I'm just so disappointed with what I see. And there
• 15:22
Speaker 1: are days where I look in the mirror and I
• 15:24
Speaker 1: hate what I see. And that's what is so hard
• 15:28
Speaker 1: to shake so often, And I'm just part of why
• 15:32
Speaker 1: I sent the emails because I'm feel like at times
• 15:35
Speaker 1: I'm grasping at straws with myself. Well, you have to
• 15:38
Speaker 1: grasp a little harder at the good straws. You're a
• 15:40
Speaker 1: beautiful young girl. You have your whole life ahead of you,
• 15:43
Speaker 1: So this is not going to be your story that
• 15:45
Speaker 1: you had a needing disorder. This isn't going to be
• 15:46
Speaker 1: your story, and that's why you have to get rid
• 15:48
Speaker 1: of it and start your story. You know, this is
• 15:50
Speaker 1: just a little fraction of your life, and it's not
• 15:53
Speaker 1: as big as you think it is. It's just being
• 15:55
Speaker 1: treated like it's the biggest thing in the world. It's
• 15:58
Speaker 1: just a little passage of time, and you're up to
• 16:00
Speaker 1: make that passage of time as sure as possible. It's
• 16:02
Speaker 1: up to you. Yeah, can I ask you this? So far,
• 16:07
Speaker 1: I've not told anyone about this diagnosis, like none of
• 16:11
Speaker 1: my friends, because I just I don't even know how
• 16:13
Speaker 1: to approach it myself, much less trying to involve my
• 16:15
Speaker 1: loved ones. None of my family knows. Only my boyfriend knows.
• 16:19
Speaker 1: That's it. What are your thoughts on me sharing this
• 16:22
Speaker 1: with more people, or at least people in my inner circle?
• 16:26
Speaker 1: What would be your reason for sharing it with everyone?
• 16:29
Speaker 1: I guess emotional support if I'm having a bad day,
• 16:32
Speaker 1: or someone to fall back on, or you know, advice. See.
• 16:37
Speaker 1: I think that this is something that you should confide
• 16:39
Speaker 1: in your circle with even people that you may not
• 16:41
Speaker 1: necessarily be close to it because the more you normalize
• 16:45
Speaker 1: it for other women or men going through it and
• 16:48
Speaker 1: can have that conversation and have people holding you accountable
• 16:51
Speaker 1: and explain that this is a process and so some
• 16:53
Speaker 1: days you may fall short, some days you may have
• 16:56
Speaker 1: a more positive outlook. It's just going to make that
• 16:59
Speaker 1: experience fee. Will you have people behind you who are
• 17:02
Speaker 1: willing to go through this experience with you? Yeah? Yeah,
• 17:07
Speaker 1: But the most important narrative again is the one you're
• 17:09
Speaker 1: telling yourself, like it really isn't about other people. It's
• 17:11
Speaker 1: good to have other people, yes, but that should not
• 17:13
Speaker 1: be your crutch. You're your crutch and you're going to
• 17:15
Speaker 1: get yourself out of this, and your diagnosis does not
• 17:18
Speaker 1: define you. It's a diagnosis for a period of time
• 17:21
Speaker 1: in your life. That's not the way it has to be. Yeah, yeah,
• 17:26
Speaker 1: all right, we'll keep us posted. Okay, okay, great, Thank
• 17:29
Speaker 1: you so much for having me on. Please take being
• 17:31
Speaker 1: our patient seriously and take my advice. I will. I mean,
• 17:35
Speaker 1: another reason I reached out is how frank you are,
• 17:38
Speaker 1: and I mean I love that you post pictures of
• 17:40
Speaker 1: yourself naked, and I'm like, that's what I want. That
• 17:44
Speaker 1: could be you too. I want to post my tits
• 17:46
Speaker 1: online too. Well. One day girl, one day, one day. Well,
• 17:50
Speaker 1: thanks rom, Okay, thanks to Rob. Yeah, thank you guys
• 17:53
Speaker 1: so much for wrong I mean, I'm not trying to
• 17:56
Speaker 1: diminish anyone's eating disorders, but they seem to have changed
• 17:59
Speaker 1: since I was growing up, because calorie restriction is now
• 18:01
Speaker 1: a thing, like yes, like I'm in a calorie deficit. Yeah, okay, sweetheart,
• 18:05
Speaker 1: we all know what's going on through your body. You're
• 18:07
Speaker 1: going through the change. I'm trying to go through a change.
• 18:10
Speaker 1: One of them would going through the change because I
• 18:11
Speaker 1: am sick and tired of getting my period. I would
• 18:14
Speaker 1: love for you to go through the change so we
• 18:15
Speaker 1: could finally regulate the fucking temperature in the house. Can
• 18:17
Speaker 1: you imagine what a contact would be going through menopause
• 18:19
Speaker 1: or maybe I'm scared of me, but there'd be a
• 18:22
Speaker 1: light at the end of the tunnel. It's like the vaccine,
• 18:24
Speaker 1: Like I'd know that something good was going to be
• 18:25
Speaker 1: in death, the light being death, the light at the
• 18:28
Speaker 1: end of the tunnel being my demise. I I don't
• 18:35
Speaker 1: like to think of your demise because then I really
• 18:36
Speaker 1: like to think about what that means for me. I'm
• 18:38
Speaker 1: not ready for that. I'm getting hungry, sweetheart. Okay, well,
• 18:41
Speaker 1: let's get through at least. What I was going to
• 18:43
Speaker 1: say is so calori restriction, Yes, you're in a calorie deficit.
• 18:46
Speaker 1: So calorie restriction, like eating disorders, have to be handled
• 18:49
Speaker 1: with much more attention than they were in my time,
• 18:51
Speaker 1: because in my time, you couldn't, like, you know, nobody
• 18:53
Speaker 1: cared that you had a needing disorder because everyone did.
• 18:56
Speaker 1: And now it's like, oh, we see the damage it
• 18:57
Speaker 1: does to you throughout your life. So now it's like
• 19:00
Speaker 1: people aren't doing things is damaging, but it's still damaging.
• 19:04
Speaker 1: I also think that there was a time where fat
• 19:06
Speaker 1: diets were so prevalent that everyone was switching their diets
• 19:09
Speaker 1: so regularly that no one thought of anything. Is putting
• 19:12
Speaker 1: on ten pounds every diet causing you to gain weight
• 19:14
Speaker 1: instead of lose weight. Eating disorders are like a diamond,
• 19:17
Speaker 1: doesn't I'm actually, you know, when I meet somebody who
• 19:19
Speaker 1: hasn't had experience, is it shocking for you with an
• 19:22
Speaker 1: eating disorder? I'm just like, oh wow, So lucky girls
• 19:25
Speaker 1: problems are they eat too much when they get high
• 19:28
Speaker 1: and they have trouble going to the bathroom. You gave
• 19:30
Speaker 1: this advice and your special but you might as well
• 19:31
Speaker 1: give it again now for any woman who can't go
• 19:33
Speaker 1: to the restaurant. Magnesium O three by Aerobic Life. They're
• 19:35
Speaker 1: over the counter and their magnesium and calcium, so they
• 19:39
Speaker 1: help you sleep and they help you go to the
• 19:40
Speaker 1: bathroom every day. And if you get into the habit
• 19:42
Speaker 1: of taking them, you will never have a problem again.
• 19:43
Speaker 1: That's two problems solved, sleep and pooping. Everyone comes back
• 19:47
Speaker 1: and say's like, thank you so much for that, because
• 19:49
Speaker 1: you don't want to be taking laxatives and stuff like that.
• 19:52
Speaker 1: Now you want to be careful with your but I know, well,
• 19:56
Speaker 1: of course you know, but I don't have that as
• 19:58
Speaker 1: much experience with my own you know what I mean,
• 20:01
Speaker 1: I don't know it. I need to know more. No
• 20:04
Speaker 1: one needs to know more. What they need to know
• 20:05
Speaker 1: you just told them. And that's Maco seven. I've taken it. God, wait,
• 20:10
Speaker 1: fucking sucks. Oh your diet sucks around. We feel for you. Okay,
• 20:15
Speaker 1: So our next mission is a rite in under the
• 20:18
Speaker 1: pseudonym the Gluttonists. Well, this is right up my the gluttonist.
• 20:24
Speaker 1: The Gluttonist writes, Dear Chelsea, I'm a binge eater. I
• 20:27
  Speaker 1: eat until I feel sick, but I won't purge. I
• 20:29
Speaker 1: just get depressed. Well this is right on topic. Seriously,
• 20:33
Speaker 1: I just get depressed and lie around until I eventually
• 20:35
Speaker 1: starved myself for the day, until I feel like I
• 20:38
Speaker 1: deserve to eat food again. I've been living the cycle
• 20:41
Speaker 1: for twenty years, and I've gone from a healthy weight
• 20:43
Speaker 1: to an unhealthy wait countless times. I can't maintain healthy
• 20:46
Speaker 1: eating habits to save my life. I'm a single mom
• 20:49
Speaker 1: and a partnered relationship and hide my binge eating from everyone.
• 20:53
Speaker 1: Ever since the lockdown and pandemic, I haven't been able
• 20:55
Speaker 1: to control myself. Things have gotten out of hand and
• 20:57
Speaker 1: I've gained fifty pounds. I want to have another child,
• 21:00
Speaker 1: get married, and love my body, but my mind controls
• 21:03
Speaker 1: my hand and mouth. Save me, give me the ross
• 21:07
Speaker 1: form of Chelsea Handler advice. Save me from myself, Sincerely,
• 21:10
Speaker 1: the glutton Nest. We both actually have this issue. Yeah, totally.
• 21:15
Speaker 1: I have a total lack of control over myself until
• 21:18
Speaker 1: well then, but that's not true because then I also
• 21:20
Speaker 1: have a good willpower when I want it. So but
• 21:22
Speaker 1: I think that that's kind of what she's saying as well,
• 21:24
Speaker 1: that she doesn't have healthy habits, but it's been a cycle.
• 21:28
Speaker 1: I think. First of all, for someone like that, I
• 21:31
Speaker 1: think they need to eat on a timer to get
• 21:32
Speaker 1: themselves re habituated to something else. Like what you do
• 21:36
Speaker 1: you eat every three to four hours. I also ideally
• 21:38
Speaker 1: eat every three to four hours, but I think you
• 21:40
Speaker 1: should because that's really when your blood sugar stabilizes, like
• 21:44
Speaker 1: if you eat healthfully, like if you have say four
• 21:46
Speaker 1: ounces of a protein and like you know, a tablespoon
• 21:49
Speaker 1: of peanut butter or an ounce of avocado or tablespoon
• 21:52
Speaker 1: of salad dressing, and then you have some berries or
• 21:55
Speaker 1: you have some vegetables. If you eat like that and
• 21:58
Speaker 1: are really healthy, and you are like very controlled and
• 22:02
Speaker 1: eat every three to four hours, which is our nutritionist
• 22:05
Speaker 1: Mark's plan. Essentially, I think it gets you on a program.
• 22:09
Speaker 1: It's like you don't have to think about doing that
• 22:11
Speaker 1: for life. It's how you think about getting yourself out
• 22:14
Speaker 1: of this rut. And the number one reminder I would
• 22:17
Speaker 1: say to use is your child. Every time you go
• 22:20
Speaker 1: to the fridge before that timer's up, just set your
• 22:22
Speaker 1: time around your phone like I do. And just any
• 22:25
Speaker 1: time you're about to break or do anything, just remember
• 22:27
Speaker 1: that you have a daughter that you need to be
• 22:29
Speaker 1: healthy for, or a son. I don't know if you
• 22:31
Speaker 1: have a daughter son. She didn't mention that. She just
• 22:32
Speaker 1: said she was a single mom. Right, Okay, so maybe
• 22:34
Speaker 1: you have more kids, which is better because the more
• 22:36
Speaker 1: you care. But I think you really need to get
• 22:39
Speaker 1: yourself out of this habit. Brandon, what do you think?
• 22:42
Speaker 1: This is exactly That's exactly what I was gonna say.
• 22:44
Speaker 1: Because my relationship to food, my life revolved around it.
• 22:47
Speaker 1: If I was sad, food was there. If I was happy,
• 22:49
Speaker 1: food was there. It was because I didn't my family
• 22:51
Speaker 1: didn't grow up with a lot of money. It was
• 22:53
Speaker 1: kind of the one thing everyone had to give to
• 22:55
Speaker 1: show affection or it was based on every interaction. So
• 23:00
Speaker 1: doing Mark's plan, which the way Chelsea describes it, it
• 23:03
Speaker 1: seems like, oh, that seems like a lot of work.
• 23:05
Speaker 1: It's a macro plan, so you have a certain amount
• 23:06
Speaker 1: of protein fat in the carb at every meal. It's
• 23:08
Speaker 1: very balanced and you never get that afternoon sync where
• 23:12
Speaker 1: you feel tired. So it just kind of maintains healthy
• 23:15
Speaker 1: levels in your body. And you can find out online.
• 23:18
Speaker 1: You do a macro calculator, so you know, but the
• 23:20
Speaker 1: timer holds you accountable. So you're getting back into this. Now,
• 23:23
Speaker 1: what's this thing called Venice Nutrition nutrition, So go to
• 23:26
Speaker 1: venice nutrition dot com. You don't have to sign up necessarily,
• 23:29
Speaker 1: but just get a look at what his whole philosophy is.
• 23:31
Speaker 1: Because it works. I've done it, Brandon's been doing it.
• 23:34
Speaker 1: He feels incredible. You get a ton of energy, you
• 23:36
Speaker 1: get your self respect back because you're in control of
• 23:39
Speaker 1: the situation, and it seems like right now you're out
• 23:41
Speaker 1: of control. So you just want to use this as
• 23:43
Speaker 1: a tool to get yourself on the straight and narrow,
• 23:46
Speaker 1: because you do not want to be hiding binging, and
• 23:49
Speaker 1: you don't want to be doing that. That's not being
• 23:50
Speaker 1: strong for your kids or for yourself really, So go
• 23:53
Speaker 1: to Venice nutrition dot com, do a little research and
• 23:57
Speaker 1: just you are in control of this. This is something
• 23:59
Speaker 1: that relationship to food, what you eat and how often
• 24:02
Speaker 1: you eat, you can control. It seems impossible sometimes because
• 24:05
Speaker 1: everyone has a craving and we all go off. It's
• 24:08
Speaker 1: not going to be of the time that you're going
• 24:11
Speaker 1: to be in control, but you can always get yourself
• 24:12
Speaker 1: back to that point. And also if you can find
• 24:15
Speaker 1: a well respected hypnotist in your area, because I went
• 24:18
Speaker 1: to carry a gainer in l A for smoking and
• 24:21
Speaker 1: that worked, and everyone's like, it's never gonna work on you,
• 24:24
Speaker 1: it's never gonna work, and it worked. I've never smoked
• 24:26
Speaker 1: a cigarette since I met him. Well, and we've sent
• 24:29
Speaker 1: countless people to carry gainer and they have and they've
• 24:31
Speaker 1: all quit smoking. So typically people who can hypnotize you
• 24:34
Speaker 1: to quit smoking can hypnotize you for eating disorders, for
• 24:37
Speaker 1: fear of flying. So if there is somebody in your
• 24:39
Speaker 1: area and you're not in l A, if you are
• 24:41
Speaker 1: an l A carry gainer, and then the other thing
• 24:44
Speaker 1: is yes, go to Venice nutrition dot com and check
• 24:47
Speaker 1: it out. Start saying the sentence you don't have an
• 24:49
Speaker 1: eating disorder. You had an eating disorder period. It's in
• 24:53
Speaker 1: the past, so turn your future into what you want.
• 24:56
Speaker 1: A great advice, I would like to know the glutton.
• 25:00
Speaker 1: If there's a change, keep us posted. But it's hard
• 25:04
Speaker 1: because you just have to like say no to yourself.
• 25:07
Speaker 1: So now that I've been doing this, and I did
• 25:09
Speaker 1: it for four weeks very strict, I did not deviate
• 25:12
Speaker 1: from the plane at all. There was no sugar. In
• 25:14
Speaker 1: the beginning, it seems like you're never going to get controller,
• 25:17
Speaker 1: you're never going to be okay with having limited options
• 25:20
Speaker 1: or having a limited amount of something. But then you
• 25:22
Speaker 1: realize how off track you had gotten with food that
• 25:26
Speaker 1: like everything, and especially in America, the portions are huge.
• 25:29
Speaker 1: Everything is very seasoned with salt, Like we're just conditioned
• 25:32
Speaker 1: to eat a certain way, and we're also conditioned to
• 25:34
Speaker 1: eat all the time when it's so unnecessary to take
• 25:37
Speaker 1: in so much food and things become so much more
• 25:41
Speaker 1: of a treat. So like I got this. It's from
• 25:43
Speaker 1: a company called Skinny Bitch. They do that color flower
• 25:46
Speaker 1: pizza and that's been like if I want something I
• 25:47
Speaker 1: feel like is bad but still relatively good and it's delicious,
• 25:51
Speaker 1: so I don't feel like I'm sacrificing anything. Now you
• 25:53
Speaker 1: should save your sacrifices for margaritas. Anyway. Well that's what
• 25:56
Speaker 1: I try and do, knowing that Monday, Wednesday and Friday
• 25:58
Speaker 1: we've been going from Margharita's and a roller blo I know,
• 26:00
Speaker 1: but we have to change that schedule up a little bit.
• 26:03
Speaker 1: We didn't go rollerblading every day last week, now we didn't.
• 26:06
Speaker 1: We went one day. I think we go rolling on Mondays?
• 26:09
Speaker 1: Is that the days I think? I think we need
• 26:11
Speaker 1: to switch that up to Friday, because I think that's
• 26:12
Speaker 1: a great way to wrap up. I think you're right
• 26:14
Speaker 1: about that as usual. Okay, we've been talking about Mark
• 26:17
Speaker 1: for the last ten minutes, so let's just get him
• 26:18
Speaker 1: on the phone. Oh, here we go, Jesus, I love
• 26:26
Speaker 1: you Mark. How happy are you that we have come
• 26:31
Speaker 1: full circle? So Brandon went on your program. I start
• 26:35
Speaker 1: every day thinking I'm going to do the program, and
• 26:38
Speaker 1: then every day, you know, like I can't wait three
• 26:41
Speaker 1: to four hours for my next meal because I was
• 26:43
Speaker 1: getting stoned a lot. So I was eating a lot
• 26:46
Speaker 1: and then I was like, okay, this is a vicious cycle.
• 26:48
Speaker 1: And then finally I came home from Whistler and Brandon
• 26:52
Speaker 1: was on your program, had lost all this body fat,
• 26:55
Speaker 1: lost all this weight. And I was like, oh my god,
• 26:57
Speaker 1: I've got to do it, and I've been doing it,
• 26:59
Speaker 1: and honestly, just like that, my body leaned out, just
• 27:02
Speaker 1: like that, like five days, five days, I'm ripped. You
• 27:07
Speaker 1: are like, you look amazing always, you never age and
• 27:12
Speaker 1: you get sexier every single day. Well, I appreciate that
• 27:15
Speaker 1: kind of endorsement. Mark. Do you see Brandon's body? Brandon,
• 27:19
Speaker 1: did you show Chelsea your abs? Like bending over? He said,
• 27:22
Speaker 1: He's listen, you're turning him. This is the problem. Mark.
• 27:24
Speaker 1: Mark has been my nutritionist for like, I don't know,
• 27:27
Speaker 1: almost twenty twenty years forever. I met you when I
• 27:31
Speaker 1: was twenty seven, so yeah, almost twenty years. Anyway. I
• 27:35
Speaker 1: went to him because I had never had abs, right
• 27:38
Speaker 1: kind of like yeah, and I had never been you know, remember,
• 27:43
Speaker 1: I had real issues. When I came to you, Mark,
• 27:45
Speaker 1: I was like, you know, so obsessed with my weight
• 27:47
Speaker 1: and so obsessed with my body, and you put me
• 27:51
Speaker 1: on a program of healthy eating every three to four hours.
• 27:54
Speaker 1: You know, protein, fat, and carbs in a healthy way.
• 27:58
Speaker 1: And I felt incredible. After two weeks, I had just
• 28:00
Speaker 1: dropped like three or four percent body fat. And the
• 28:03
Speaker 1: key is to really not ever over eat and always
• 28:06
Speaker 1: eat when you're hungry, right, so you're never starving your
• 28:09
Speaker 1: body and you're never storing fat. And then you got
• 28:11
Speaker 1: me ready for a couple of bikini covers I had
• 28:13
Speaker 1: to do. And I always try and stay on the diet,
• 28:16
Speaker 1: but you know, sometimes it's it's not even a diet really,
• 28:19
Speaker 1: it's a lifestyle. Yes, it is retraining the way you
• 28:23
Speaker 1: think about food, your interaction with food, how you view
• 28:26
Speaker 1: food as a necessity or a fuel. It can still
• 28:29
Speaker 1: be a luxury, can still be something that you enjoy,
• 28:32
Speaker 1: but it doesn't need to be at this maximized. You
• 28:36
Speaker 1: don't have to be obsessed with food. Brandon, you make
• 28:39
Speaker 1: me so proud man, Like you're like just rocking it.
• 28:42
Speaker 1: And Chelsea, I still remember when we first met. I
• 28:45
Speaker 1: called you, you know, when I was in Valencia, California,
• 28:48
Speaker 1: and I'm on the phone with you, and that was
• 28:51
Speaker 1: just you know, you you inspire me because you take action,
• 28:54
Speaker 1: You love your health, you understand the importance of your health.
• 28:57
Speaker 1: You challenge me, you yell at me in a van way,
• 29:00
Speaker 1: and we have so much fun together because you understood
• 29:02
Speaker 1: food and then how to take your body to another
• 29:05
Speaker 1: another way and how to make it a way of life.
• 29:07
Speaker 1: We talked about how busy you are and how hard
• 29:09
Speaker 1: it is to eat when you're on the go. But
• 29:11
Speaker 1: you to me when you got ready for the shape cover.
• 29:14
Speaker 1: As you continue to live, as every year passes, you
• 29:17
Speaker 1: just understand your food and what I love about choose
• 29:19
Speaker 1: once you know it. You can choose to not do
• 29:22
Speaker 1: it for a moment, but you always come back to it,
• 29:24
Speaker 1: and that's inspiring. Yeah. And my my first question when
• 29:27
Speaker 1: I went to him was like, I don't want to
• 29:28
Speaker 1: give up alcohol. What can we do? And he said, okay,
• 29:32
Speaker 1: you have to just have one drink a week for
• 29:36
Speaker 1: the next you know, few weeks, and then we can
• 29:38
Speaker 1: reintroduce the alcohol at a much more you know, reasonable level,
• 29:43
Speaker 1: everything in moderation. Yeah. Well, sometimes this day we still
• 29:48
Speaker 1: have the Chelsea salmon, asparagus and vodka. That is the
• 29:52
Speaker 1: meal for everybody right there. That was the Chelsea favorite. Anyway, right,
• 29:58
Speaker 1: are you standing up? I need you to set the
• 30:00
Speaker 1: funk down because your energy is already jumping through the screen.
• 30:03
Speaker 1: You know how he is. He's like this all of
• 30:05
Speaker 1: the time. He will hug you when you see him,
• 30:07
Speaker 1: whether you want to be hugged or not, and he'll
• 30:09
Speaker 1: hold on tight. He is maximum energy at all times.
• 30:13
Speaker 1: I am standing, by the way, Yeah, of course you're standing. Listen.
• 30:16
Speaker 1: You burned three times more calorie standing rather than sitting.
• 30:19
Speaker 1: So I'm being smart with my with the time I have. Okay, yeah,
• 30:23
Speaker 1: copy that. I want to talk to you a little
• 30:26
Speaker 1: bit about Brandon because Brandon is getting very body obsessive.
• 30:29
Speaker 1: And the other day he said that he shaved his
• 30:31
Speaker 1: stomach to show you his apps because he's worried that
• 30:35
Speaker 1: his bottom two abs are not popping, which I had
• 30:39
Speaker 1: never heard that term before. And I said, you're going
• 30:42
Speaker 1: to get into a situation where you're as obsessed as
• 30:44
Speaker 1: I was about your body. And so I wanted to
• 30:47
Speaker 1: talk to you about that, because how do you not
• 30:50
Speaker 1: become you know, when you start manipulating your weight and
• 30:52
Speaker 1: your body and you see, you know how lean you
• 30:54
Speaker 1: can get and how much energy is derived from being
• 30:57
Speaker 1: healthy about your diet, you can get a sessive Yeah,
• 31:01
Speaker 1: I mean I think with Brandon The real challenge that
• 31:04
Speaker 1: he's had, and and I've known Brandon for years, is
• 31:07
Speaker 1: that he's always been fitting healthy, but he's never been
• 31:10
Speaker 1: able to take his body to another level. And that frustration,
• 31:13
Speaker 1: I think is worse than the obsession of taking it
• 31:16
Speaker 1: to a level. So he's been searching and searching and
• 31:18
Speaker 1: trying and starving. And what he's done in the past
• 31:21
Speaker 1: is you starve yourself, you cut your calories, you cut
• 31:23
Speaker 1: your carbs. His fate leans out. You look like a skeleton.
• 31:27
Speaker 1: And then he still didn't have the abs. So when
• 31:29
Speaker 1: he reached out to me, is awesome because I just said, listen,
• 31:32
Speaker 1: you can achieve. You'll get your a pack. It's gonna
• 31:35
Speaker 1: be a process, but we're gonna do it in a
• 31:36
Speaker 1: way that it's gonna become a forever way of life.
• 31:39
Speaker 1: And that's what we had to run As he's going
• 31:41
Speaker 1: on a trip. The whole thing was how do we
• 31:43
Speaker 1: help him get ready. How does he see those abs
• 31:46
Speaker 1: as he's got a leaner as he's understand food, as
• 31:49
Speaker 1: he the leaner he gets the more he eats with diets,
• 31:52
Speaker 1: the leaner you get, the less you eat. So now
• 31:54
Speaker 1: we have his top four coming in when he lays down,
• 31:57
Speaker 1: he gets his top. He has all six and that
• 31:59
Speaker 1: was lady to see his bottom two. So he's almost
• 32:02
Speaker 1: got the eight pack. And now we're focusing on building
• 32:05
Speaker 1: a little bore, more muscle in his abdominal region, so
• 32:08
Speaker 1: it pops even more. But I think what Brandon seeing
• 32:11
Speaker 1: is that he's loving his exercise. His energy is great.
• 32:14
Speaker 1: He's a little obsessive because he has a goal, but
• 32:17
Speaker 1: once he achieves that goal, we move it into a
• 32:19
Speaker 1: lifestyle for him and Levi, so they make this a
• 32:22
Speaker 1: permanent part of life, not something you do for a moment.
• 32:25
Speaker 1: And Levi is my partner and he is doing this
• 32:27
Speaker 1: regiment too. I do just feel like, out of everything
• 32:30
Speaker 1: I've ever tried, and I've tried a lot of ship,
• 32:33
Speaker 1: I just feel like this is something I can stick
• 32:35
Speaker 1: with forever. What's nice is you know you can still
• 32:38
Speaker 1: go out to eat and have things. It's about the
• 32:40
Speaker 1: balance of that meal, so I don't feel like I'm
• 32:42
Speaker 1: out anything. And again, I just feel like I had
• 32:44
Speaker 1: such an unhealthy relationship with food that this forced me
• 32:48
Speaker 1: to reflect on how much I was eating, why I
• 32:51
Speaker 1: was eating it. Because you also realize that you go
• 32:53
Speaker 1: through your day grazing on things like I'm not even hungry,
• 32:56
Speaker 1: I'm just born shying my mental space. And so now
• 32:59
Speaker 1: when it has be more thoughtful, you get a lot
• 33:01
Speaker 1: more out of your meals, not just you know, nutrition wise,
• 33:05
Speaker 1: but mentally right. Like look at I brought my lunch today, Mark.
• 33:08
Speaker 1: I have my turkey and my avocado and my mustard
• 33:12
Speaker 1: for my snack. I forgot a fruit, but whatever. The
• 33:15
Speaker 1: one thing I did learn from you, well not the one.
• 33:16
Speaker 1: I've learned many things from you. One thing that I
• 33:19
Speaker 1: always take away is I never eat fruit by itself
• 33:22
Speaker 1: anymore because I know then you're just hungry again an
• 33:24
Speaker 1: hour later. So you have to combine that with a
• 33:25
Speaker 1: fat or a protein at the very least. Always have
• 33:28
Speaker 1: a fat, right, because it takes the fat to burn
• 33:30
Speaker 1: the fat. So it's all about blood sugar, so that
• 33:33
Speaker 1: eating healthy is different than eating balance. So fruit by
• 33:35
Speaker 1: itself will break down, spike your blood sugar, make your
• 33:38
Speaker 1: store fat, get you hungry an hour later. Protein and
• 33:41
Speaker 1: carbs balance each other. Fat slows down digestion, and I
• 33:44
Speaker 1: love it. I love what you're doing, Chelsea, because you can.
• 33:46
Speaker 1: For the last twenty years you just consistently go back
• 33:49
Speaker 1: to and I think that's when we talk about Brandon.
• 33:52
Speaker 1: He was unhappy with his body. Now he might fall
• 33:54
Speaker 1: off plan, but what he's doing he has a knowledge now,
• 33:58
Speaker 1: so he knows what to do. So the pressure is off.
• 34:00
Speaker 1: Just like you, you come back, you say, Okay, Brandon
• 34:03
Speaker 1: is inspiring. I'm gonna get back on plan. It's not
• 34:06
Speaker 1: something that's torturous. Is not something you have to suffer.
• 34:08
Speaker 1: You can eat the food you love. You just eat
• 34:11
Speaker 1: smarter and work out smarter, and then you control the
• 34:14
Speaker 1: success you want with your body. Can we talk a
• 34:16
Speaker 1: little bit about intermittent fasting, because obviously that's the trend
• 34:19
Speaker 1: right now. People love to intermittent fast I hear that
• 34:22
Speaker 1: all the time. I've done it, and you know, so
• 34:25
Speaker 1: let's hear your thoughts on that. Yeah. I think there's
• 34:28
Speaker 1: three main philosophies. Now you have keto, intermin fasting, and
• 34:31
Speaker 1: blood sugar, which is what we teach about not using
• 34:33
Speaker 1: food to lose weight, but food to create balance. There's
• 34:36
Speaker 1: three questions I would always ask. Number one, is it
• 34:38
Speaker 1: based on the science of your body? Number two, can
• 34:41
Speaker 1: you do it for the rest of your life? And
• 34:43
Speaker 1: number three, which but a kid or teenager on it?
• 34:45
Speaker 1: Intermut and fasting is designed because when you turned thirty,
• 34:49
Speaker 1: every decade thirty tot you lose five percent in your
• 34:53
Speaker 1: muscle mass. So intermin fasting was designed as a way
• 34:56
Speaker 1: where people wanted to still eat foods they love, but
• 34:59
Speaker 1: doing not to not have the scale increase. That doesn't
• 35:02
Speaker 1: mean you're progressing. You're still regressing. So you don't eat
• 35:06
Speaker 1: till noon, you can't eat pass eight and you'll lose weight.
• 35:10
Speaker 1: But is that something you want to do for the
• 35:11
Speaker 1: rest of your life. Is that something that's gonna let
• 35:13
Speaker 1: you live the way you should to reprogram your metabolism. No,
• 35:17
Speaker 1: it won't. It will be something to maintain and slow
• 35:19
Speaker 1: down your regression. Keto is the same way you cut
• 35:22
Speaker 1: out your carbs, you eat protein and fat. Yeah, you
• 35:25
Speaker 1: force your body to burn fat, but you burn some muscle.
• 35:28
Speaker 1: No one wants to live keto without cars for the
• 35:30
Speaker 1: rest of their life. So you have to ask yourself,
• 35:32
Speaker 1: this is something you want forever? I F works, low
• 35:36
Speaker 1: car works, low calorie works. The question is is this
• 35:39
Speaker 1: something that you prepare to do forever. Most people do it,
• 35:43
Speaker 1: they go back to their lifestyle and they regain everything.
• 35:45
Speaker 1: If you implement just understanding how to eat the food
• 35:48
Speaker 1: you love in the right balance. You'll release your stored fat,
• 35:51
Speaker 1: build muscle, and it's something that you can do for
• 35:53
Speaker 1: the rest of your life and actually reverse the aging
• 35:55
Speaker 1: challenges and increase your metabolism. But aren't there a lot
• 35:58
Speaker 1: of health benefits to fast though? Yeah? I mean my
• 36:02
Speaker 1: take is if you eat clean food and you move,
• 36:05
Speaker 1: that's your greatest health benefit. And we just have to
• 36:08
Speaker 1: keep thinking of how we were fed when we were born.
• 36:11
Speaker 1: Baby's feet every three hours, they have breast milk or formula,
• 36:14
Speaker 1: which is the same in the sense of that it's
• 36:16
Speaker 1: balanced of protein, fact carbs. Baby stop eating when there
• 36:19
Speaker 1: says so I, they eat again when they're hungry the
• 36:21
Speaker 1: first year of life. That's physiology. That's how we fuel
• 36:24
Speaker 1: our body. We stop eating that way because a lifestyle,
• 36:28
Speaker 1: not because of our body's needs, and your body is
• 36:30
Speaker 1: the best adapter, so adjust. I think fasting in periods
• 36:34
Speaker 1: can totally be healthy. But if you eat clean food,
• 36:38
Speaker 1: less salt, no nitrates, and you eat clean and you
• 36:41
Speaker 1: drink water and you move your body, you're cleansing your
• 36:45
Speaker 1: body every single day. And then when you want to
• 36:47
Speaker 1: bring low alcohol in or you want to have an
• 36:49
Speaker 1: off plane, they'll go for it. Just get back on plan.
• 36:52
Speaker 1: That's the keyest success. Yeah, And I like your philosophy
• 36:55
Speaker 1: to is that when you do have a cheat meal
• 36:57
Speaker 1: or you do go off plan, that the whole day
• 37:00
Speaker 1: isn't gone. You don't. That doesn't mean you just get
• 37:01
Speaker 1: to have McDonald's for the rest of the day. For
• 37:03
Speaker 1: every meal that you go back to your plan, but
• 37:06
Speaker 1: the next meal you go back to the plan. Like
• 37:08
Speaker 1: if you're hungover, of course you're gonna want French fries
• 37:11
Speaker 1: and something greasy, So once in a while that's okay,
• 37:13
Speaker 1: but the next meal you have to get back on plan.
• 37:16
Speaker 1: But this also goes back to once you're on the
• 37:19
Speaker 1: plan for x amount of time, like I was on
• 37:20
Speaker 1: it for almost eight weeks before I deviated at all.
• 37:25
Speaker 1: When you're eating such excess or things that are not
• 37:27
Speaker 1: good for you and have such high salt content or
• 37:30
Speaker 1: just their over flavored, you become desensitized to it. You
• 37:34
Speaker 1: think everything should taste that way, and so you don't
• 37:36
Speaker 1: even really enjoy it. At a certain point, you also
• 37:38
Speaker 1: realize how much we eat that is unnecessary, like the
• 37:41
Speaker 1: excess right which we eat, you know in which portions
• 37:45
Speaker 1: are served and when you realize, like, oh, if I
• 37:47
Speaker 1: do Marx plan and I have you know, a scoop
• 37:49
Speaker 1: of peanut butter as my fat or a tablespoon of dressing,
• 37:52
Speaker 1: you're like, holy shit, what am I eating in a
• 37:54
Speaker 1: restaurant when they're dressing your salad and putting tons of
• 37:57
Speaker 1: fat in it? Last night for dinner when I was
• 38:00
Speaker 1: weighing everything out. And this is also the thing is
• 38:02
Speaker 1: I think it can be overwhelming for people when they
• 38:03
Speaker 1: do start to search for a plan that's going to
• 38:05
Speaker 1: work for them or a lifestyle that they can really
• 38:08
Speaker 1: commit to. You can start to ballpark things. Once you
• 38:11
Speaker 1: get through it for a few weeks, you just know like, oh,
• 38:13
Speaker 1: all these white meats are interchangeable, so it doesn't feel
• 38:16
Speaker 1: like you have to think as much about it. Yeah,
• 38:18
Speaker 1: people don't want to weigh their food. That's definitely like
• 38:20
Speaker 1: a barrier, so but you can gauge it. Like so
• 38:22
Speaker 1: now I've gotten pretty good at knowing how many handfuls
• 38:25
Speaker 1: or ballparking where that's going to be, and it's always
• 38:27
Speaker 1: about right. But when I was looking at the meal
• 38:28
Speaker 1: last night, I thought, oh my god, Like, you know,
• 38:30
Speaker 1: three months ago, I would have thought that this was
• 38:32
Speaker 1: a starvation diet. I was looking at it, but that's
• 38:34
Speaker 1: it's not we just overeat consistently. I also think with Brandon,
• 38:38
Speaker 1: he wants an elite body, so it's Chelsea. It's like
• 38:41
Speaker 1: when you got ready for the coverage shape. There's there's
• 38:44
Speaker 1: a certain level you commit to. But the reality is
• 38:47
Speaker 1: this for women, a palmer protein, aphistic car but thumb
• 38:50
Speaker 1: a fact. You don't have to weigh your food. It's
• 38:52
Speaker 1: about just understanding PFC protein fact, carbohydrates a third or
• 38:56
Speaker 1: third or third on your plate. Keep it simple, eat
• 38:59
Speaker 1: every three hours and your body is starting to win.
• 39:02
Speaker 1: And I think a lot of times with food, it's
• 39:03
Speaker 1: the emotional attachment. I'm forty eight, almost forty nine, and
• 39:07
Speaker 1: I was grew up focusing on you know, if you're
• 39:09
Speaker 1: a bad day, you eat, a good day, you eat,
• 39:11
Speaker 1: And a lot of times this is emotional attachment to food.
• 39:14
Speaker 1: When you balance your blood sugar and you eat this way,
• 39:17
Speaker 1: you take away the psychological craving, the physiological craving, meaning
• 39:21
Speaker 1: that you don't crave the food. You still might want it,
• 39:24
Speaker 1: but you don't have the physical need for it. So
• 39:26
Speaker 1: it gives you back control. And I think that's what
• 39:28
Speaker 1: we all want to understand how to live our best health,
• 39:31
Speaker 1: feel our best, and not feel like we have to
• 39:33
Speaker 1: suffer and be be attacked by food. We can decide
• 39:38
Speaker 1: when we want to eat it and how we want
• 39:39
Speaker 1: to eat it well. So that's a great lead into
• 39:42
Speaker 1: one of our submissions that we had. It was for
• 39:43
Speaker 1: a woman who classifies herself as a gluttonous that she
• 39:46
Speaker 1: goes through these phases where she'll really focus on eating
• 39:49
Speaker 1: right and staying healthy, and then she will binge basically
• 39:52
Speaker 1: until she's sick. And she'll do this for prolonged amounts
• 39:54
Speaker 1: of times, so not just one day. So for someone
• 39:56
Speaker 1: who feels like they really cannot regain long term m
• 40:00
Speaker 1: control of their eating habits, and something like this plan
• 40:03
Speaker 1: sounds like a great idea, but they wouldn't even know
• 40:06
Speaker 1: the entry point. What would you recommend to someone like this? Yeah,
• 40:10
Speaker 1: so it comes back down, you know, one percent. I've
• 40:13
Speaker 1: told the story when I was seven years old, I
• 40:15
  Speaker 1: couldn't speak and I couldn't form words, and I was
• 40:18
Speaker 1: going to be held back going in a second grade
• 40:21
Speaker 1: and my dad came home and my mom and it
• 40:23
Speaker 1: was like I was devastating because no one could understand
• 40:25
Speaker 1: what I would say, I thought I was speaking the
• 40:27
Speaker 1: words with no one to understand it, and my dad
• 40:29
Speaker 1: went to my room and put a big one percent
• 40:31
Speaker 1: in my room and said, listen, you're gonna have tough days,
• 40:34
Speaker 1: you're gonna want to quit, but you can learn how
• 40:35
Speaker 1: to speak one percent at a time. And for four
• 40:37
Speaker 1: years I worked on my speech, focused on it, and
• 40:40
Speaker 1: then I got there, and now I speak all around
• 40:42
Speaker 1: the world. I'm able to do this podcast with you
• 40:44
Speaker 1: all these things, but it's the one percent that went
• 40:47
Speaker 1: with me. I think your health is starting where you are,
• 40:50
Speaker 1: and you have to think about the one percent. If
• 40:52
Speaker 1: you can maybe walk five more minutes, if you can
• 40:54
Speaker 1: sleep three more minutes, if you can get one shaking
• 40:57
Speaker 1: and or one balanced meal, you're getting there. For that
• 41:00
Speaker 1: exact analogy, a lot of times people overeat because they starve.
• 41:04
Speaker 1: They start, they starve and physically they need to fuel
• 41:07
Speaker 1: and then they go. But if we can just start
• 41:10
Speaker 1: her at just balance meals, the physical need, the physical
• 41:13
Speaker 1: crazies won't be there anymore. She'll feel better week after week,
• 41:17
Speaker 1: and then those big binges they'll start to dissipate. They
• 41:20
Speaker 1: won't be there as much. So I think the first
• 41:22
Speaker 1: step is let's start balancing her looking just at protein
• 41:26
Speaker 1: facts and carbohydrates. Start with your breakfast, start with your snacks,
• 41:29
Speaker 1: start with your lunch, and by doing those mid morning
• 41:32
Speaker 1: mid afternoon, you won't create that lunch and dinner that
• 41:35
Speaker 1: amount and not starve yourself so that you get a result,
• 41:38
Speaker 1: and then you want to then overeat. If she's interested
• 41:41
Speaker 1: in your program, can you tell her where she should
• 41:42
Speaker 1: go and what she should do. Yeah. So the first
• 41:45
Speaker 1: you know, Chelsea Handler one of the greatest women in
• 41:48
Speaker 1: the world, people in the world, best honor evers. She
• 41:51
Speaker 1: wrote the forward for our book Body Confidence. So that's
• 41:54
Speaker 1: a great book that really teaches your companies. Venish Nutrition
• 41:58
Speaker 1: veneis nutrition dot com. But a great read to understand
• 42:01
Speaker 1: about nutrition is starting with body confidence. Body confidence. And
• 42:04
Speaker 1: then yeah, when it sounds like overwhelming to plan your
• 42:07
Speaker 1: meals like this, it's actually a it's empowering because after
• 42:12
Speaker 1: the second day of doing it, you're like, Okay, I've
• 42:14
Speaker 1: got the system down now, I know you know, the
• 42:16
Speaker 1: cravings disappear very quickly. So if you have somebody that
• 42:20
Speaker 1: is listening, that is gluttonous, that is interested in this,
• 42:23
Speaker 1: like I really would beg you, you can even just
• 42:25
Speaker 1: join Vennice Nutrition or go on and take a look
• 42:27
Speaker 1: at it, and you don't have to make any major commitment,
• 42:30
Speaker 1: but I urge you to take four or five days
• 42:32
Speaker 1: and really be serious about it and see how different
• 42:34
Speaker 1: you feel at the end of four or five days,
• 42:36
Speaker 1: because you feel like you're in control again. And that's
• 42:39
Speaker 1: a good place to be when you're talking about food
• 42:42
Speaker 1: and you're talking about people who you know overdo it well.
• 42:44
Speaker 1: And I would just like to say to both of
• 42:46
Speaker 1: you that there are certain aspects of your beginning of
• 42:51
Speaker 1: this change in your relationship with food that seems like
• 42:54
Speaker 1: you're never going to get there. And so I think,
• 42:56
Speaker 1: you know, with my body specifically, Chelsea and I had
• 42:59
Speaker 1: to have a conversation and the other day where she
• 43:01
Speaker 1: was really honest. She's like, I think you're taking it
• 43:03
Speaker 1: too far, Like it's honestly a little alarming, Like I'm
• 43:05
Speaker 1: working out in a trash bag under a sweats Yeah,
• 43:08
Speaker 1: this is like yeah, yeah, So Mark will encourage this
• 43:13
Speaker 1: behavior though that's your fault. Mark. He came over first.
• 43:16
Speaker 1: He changed into a plastic bag he put over his body,
• 43:20
Speaker 1: which I've done. Also, just for the record, let the
• 43:23
Speaker 1: record state I have had a sweatsuit. I used to
• 43:25
Speaker 1: go with my sauna and just but that was when
• 43:27
Speaker 1: I was you know, it was unreachable goals because I
• 43:30
Speaker 1: was just overcompensating for bad behavior and bad eating and
• 43:33
Speaker 1: bad drinking. So it was never going to even out.
• 43:35
Speaker 1: But I definitely had one of those black sweatsuits that
• 43:38
Speaker 1: makes you sweat extra. So he put the trash bag
• 43:40
Speaker 1: on and then put what looked like a scuba suit
• 43:42
Speaker 1: over it. Well it was a neoprene sweatsuit. Yeah, yeah,
• 43:45
Speaker 1: a neoprene sweatsuit. And then he was on the treadmill
• 43:48
Speaker 1: and It's texted me and said there was a puddle.
• 43:50
Speaker 1: Were you at my house or at the gym. I
• 43:52
Speaker 1: was at the gym at the gym and he said
• 43:53
Speaker 1: there's a puddle at the bottom of the treadmill. And
• 43:55
Speaker 1: I was like, yeah, of course, I asked, yeah. Right. Well,
• 44:00
Speaker 1: so anyway, after that time, it is about working hard
• 44:05
Speaker 1: and it's about feeling good. And I feel so good
• 44:07
Speaker 1: right now that yes, I want to look a certain way,
• 44:09
Speaker 1: but I also don't want to feel tired or weak
• 44:11
Speaker 1: all the time, and so I feel like I'm getting stronger.
• 44:14
Speaker 1: But in that moment, so Chelsea, we're we're marking back
• 44:17
Speaker 1: and forth sending video messages, and she basically said, Hey,
• 44:20
Speaker 1: what you're doing is great, and like, I understand it.
• 44:23
Speaker 1: I've been there. But in those moments, you also need
• 44:26
Speaker 1: to practice. As much as you're practicing self control, you
• 44:29
Speaker 1: need to practice patients because it's not going to come overnight.
• 44:31
Speaker 1: So all these extreme things that you're doing is not
• 44:34
Speaker 1: necessarily going to change you tomorrow. Like it's a process.
• 44:37
Speaker 1: And so with what you were just speaking about, mark
• 44:40
Speaker 1: the one percent. That's why I don't weigh myself every
• 44:43
Speaker 1: day because I was doing that in the beginning. It
• 44:45
Speaker 1: will make you mad looking at it because it's fluctuating.
• 44:48
Speaker 1: So now I will weigh on Friday, just as kind
• 44:51
Speaker 1: of a checkpoint of where I'm at, knowing that if
• 44:54
Speaker 1: I'm down anything anywhere, or even maintaining that I'm doing
• 44:57
Speaker 1: the right work. Yeah, and and also a scale does
• 45:00
Speaker 1: not define your success, so I think everyone listening, when
• 45:04
Speaker 1: you start your health, you have to look at your
• 45:05
Speaker 1: intern external how's your energy, how's your appetite, what's your
• 45:09
Speaker 1: inch measurements, take some pictures of yourself because your weight
• 45:12
Speaker 1: can vary for multiple reasons, stress, lack of sleep, your cycle.
• 45:16
Speaker 1: I'm on my cycle right now. And remember when you
• 45:18
Speaker 1: would text me that the weight would be up. I
• 45:21
Speaker 1: can't believe you even tolerated in my behavior when I
• 45:23
Speaker 1: was that crazy. I mean, I know, and he loved it.
• 45:27
Speaker 1: He'd like, no problem, Chelsea, love you so much, It's okay.
• 45:29
Speaker 1: I'd like, I found cellulate on my arm, now what?
• 45:32
Speaker 1: But I love that? By the way, But just everyone
• 45:34
Speaker 1: listening to make sure you know you don't have to
• 45:36
Speaker 1: wear trash bags or scuba suits like Brandon. You don't.
• 45:40
Speaker 1: That is extreme. I don't have something that's not necessarily
• 45:43
Speaker 1: related to diet, but it's just about your attitude and
• 45:46
Speaker 1: outlook on things. How do you maintain I'm in a
• 45:49
Speaker 1: bad mood today, Mark, So how do you maintain such
• 45:51
Speaker 1: authentic positivity? Because people you you can't see him, but
• 45:54
Speaker 1: he's not stop smiling the entire time, and he genuinely
• 45:58
Speaker 1: is like this like he me for about six hours
• 46:01
Speaker 1: where he's like, love you, and I know that, and
• 46:03
Speaker 1: I know that he and I know that he meant it,
• 46:04
Speaker 1: which is as strange as that seems like, there is
• 46:07
Speaker 1: just something about him that is authentic to his core.
• 46:10
Speaker 1: He is a positive person and for other people because
• 46:12
Speaker 1: we also have a lot of people writing and saying like,
• 46:14
  Speaker 1: I can't get myself out of this mood, I can't
• 46:16
Speaker 1: pull myself out of my funk. And I don't know
• 46:19
Speaker 1: that they're mutually exclusive, but there does seem to be
• 46:21
Speaker 1: some sort of connection in the lifestyle you're living and
• 46:24
Speaker 1: your positivity. I mean, for me, it started with my mom.
• 46:28
Speaker 1: My mom is just since I was a bait. I mean,
• 46:30
Speaker 1: she just loves life and she would always tell me
• 46:34
Speaker 1: that and just always instill that in me, and then
• 46:36
Speaker 1: it just was part of me. And I just believe
• 46:39
Speaker 1: in people. I love people. I've had an amazing life
• 46:42
Speaker 1: and at the end of the day, I believe in people.
• 46:44
Speaker 1: I believe in the greatness of what we can be.
• 46:47
Speaker 1: And I think as I was always you know, when
• 46:49
  Speaker 1: I was seven, I said I couldn't speak. I had asthma,
• 46:51
  Speaker 1: so I couldn't play sports. I've always just I've always
• 46:53
Speaker 1: felt like an underdog. So I've always wanted to empower
• 46:56
Speaker 1: people that regardless of where you are in life, regardless
• 46:59
Speaker 1: of your circle stance, you can always reach for your greatness.
• 47:02
Speaker 1: It's never too late. You just gotta start one percent
• 47:05
Speaker 1: at a time. And if you cast that vision. You
• 47:07
Speaker 1: can achieve it, and so many people are struggling with
• 47:10
Speaker 1: their health, with all of the challenge that have with COVID,
• 47:13
Speaker 1: with where we are the society. It's just you gotta start.
• 47:16
Speaker 1: You gotta make a decision. You don't have to starve yourself.
• 47:18
Speaker 1: You don't have to cut stuff. You can love your food,
• 47:21
Speaker 1: you can love your body, whatever type of body you have.
• 47:24
Speaker 1: Find that space you want to be and cast that
• 47:26
Speaker 1: vision and go for it. I don't know that there's
• 47:28
Speaker 1: a better place to wrap up than that. Um No.
• 47:31
Speaker 1: I just would like to close this with a story
• 47:33
Speaker 1: about Mark flew out to my house in l A
• 47:35
Speaker 1: a couple of years ago because I was like, I've
• 47:37
Speaker 1: gotten off the rails. You've got to come out here
• 47:39
Speaker 1: and help me. And he came out for like a week,
• 47:41
Speaker 1: and I was scared because you know, of his energy level.
• 47:45
Speaker 1: I'm like, funk, what's he gonna make me? Do? You
• 47:47
Speaker 1: know he's gonna train me and get me back on
• 47:49
Speaker 1: my program sprint probably, yeah, he loves sand sprints. And
• 47:52
Speaker 1: then by the way they fucking work, you know, do
• 47:55
Speaker 1: a sand spread. You probably wanted to work out again
• 47:56
Speaker 1: for the rest of the week, But I warned everybody
• 47:59
Speaker 1: at the house, who was working at the house and
• 48:01
Speaker 1: who had it met him before, Like, you will get
• 48:03
Speaker 1: assaulted by this hug, Like there's no way around it.
• 48:06
Speaker 1: He's coming in hot and he will not take no
• 48:08
Speaker 1: for an answer, and uh everyone, And I remember Tanner's
• 48:13
Speaker 1: Tanner goes, I can't believe that you're okay with that,
• 48:18
Speaker 1: and I was like, I actually don't know that you're right.
• 48:20
Speaker 1: I can't believe it either. I've never thought about how
• 48:22
Speaker 1: I've been tolerating marks enthusiasm. But it's infectious, and you
• 48:26
  Speaker 1: know he's really he means it. I mean it's a
• 48:28
Speaker 1: lot and it works well. We I need you too,
• 48:36
Speaker 1: and your heart and just this is a Chelsea story.
• 48:39
Speaker 1: I've known a lot of people in this world. Her
• 48:41
Speaker 1: heart for the people she loves and the people in
• 48:45
Speaker 1: for everybody is one of the most special things. And
• 48:48
Speaker 1: I just want the world to know how special you are, Chelsea,
• 48:51
Speaker 1: how you give, how you want to make a difference,
• 48:53
Speaker 1: and you inspire me, and that goes right to Brandon.
• 48:56
Speaker 1: So it's an honor to call you a friend. You're
• 48:58
Speaker 1: both our family to me and as you know, I'm
• 49:00
Speaker 1: always here for you or fly to l a anytime.
• 49:02
Speaker 1: You come to the the Lanta anytime, and I'll clip you
• 49:05
Speaker 1: body fatu. Together we change the health of the world.
• 49:08
Speaker 1: Sounds good. Say hi to Abbey and the kids. Give
• 49:11
Speaker 1: him a big massive hug, a big massive us. Mark,
• 49:14
Speaker 1: you take care of that. By Brandon, it's like your
• 49:20
Speaker 1: new boyfriend. Listen, how lucky's appy? I know how lucky
• 49:26
Speaker 1: she is? Or is he just driving her fucking crazy?
• 49:29
Speaker 1: You know, like, because if you were living with somebody
• 49:31
Speaker 1: that was in that good of a mood all the time. No,
• 49:35
Speaker 1: I'm hope it's contagious. I would hope that it really
• 49:37
Speaker 1: would force you to feel happiness. Yeah, yeah, I guess
• 49:43
Speaker 1: it would. His son Hunter, he has a son and
• 49:45
Speaker 1: a daughter, and his son hunters older and just like
• 49:49
Speaker 1: he's just like Mark. He they came to one of
• 49:51
Speaker 1: your shows. I don't remember which, but I remember probably
• 49:54
Speaker 1: Atlanta because he lives in Atlanta. Now I remember, Oh no,
• 49:58
Speaker 1: it was Nashville. I think, oh really, yeah, I think
• 50:00
Speaker 1: it's Nashural because they showed up by Atlanta. It's not
• 50:03
Speaker 1: far and his son, who had never met me, immediately
• 50:06
Speaker 1: walked up and hugged me, knew me by name, like
• 50:08
Speaker 1: that is just I know his son is really incredible. Actually,
• 50:11
Speaker 1: you're just like, oh my god, there's a mini mark
• 50:13
Speaker 1: coming at me. Okay, it sounds like we're going to
• 50:15
Speaker 1: take a break for a commercial and we'll be right back.
• 50:20
Speaker 1: Are you what's happening with your mood, Brandon? How are
• 50:22
Speaker 1: you feeling now? Brandon had a really rough It's been
• 50:25
Speaker 1: a bad few days and I don't like that headspace.
• 50:28
Speaker 1: And I had to tell sweetheart on the way here
• 50:30
Speaker 1: that I'm really annoyed today and I don't want to
• 50:32
Speaker 1: be annoyed, and I keep trying to pull myself out
• 50:34
Speaker 1: of it, and that makes me more fucking annoyed. I know.
• 50:36
Speaker 1: But you can't shame yourself for being in a bad mood.
• 50:38
Speaker 1: It's annoying to break your phone, it's annoying to have
• 50:40
Speaker 1: a burglary. All those things are stressful, So don't beat
• 50:44
Speaker 1: yourself up for being in a bad mood. Just let
• 50:46
Speaker 1: it rip. Just being a bad mood. Well, you know what,
• 50:48
Speaker 1: I have accepted this point. I'm acknowledging it, accepting it.
• 50:50
Speaker 1: I'm just gonna try and move on because that's all
• 50:53
Speaker 1: we can do. Like, I don't want to sit in
• 50:54
Speaker 1: it for too long. I did for a bit today,
• 50:57
Speaker 1: and it's just been a whirlwind. I it has been
• 51:00
Speaker 1: a Whirldwarde's it has. Yeah, you're going to get out
• 51:03
Speaker 1: of that neighborhood. You're gonna put your house on the market,
• 51:05
Speaker 1: which you're gonna do anyway, and you're gonna move somewhere else.
• 51:08
Speaker 1: Because Sweetheart even generously offered to buy a house big
• 51:12
Speaker 1: enough for myself, my partner, and four cats to live in.
• 51:16
Speaker 1: She didn't know about the four. I forgot about the cats.
• 51:18
Speaker 1: That yeah, I forgot about the whole cat situation. I
• 51:20
Speaker 1: don't know how Bernie and Burt would react to the cats.
• 51:23
Speaker 1: I'd love to see what we could. Just put Burt
• 51:25
Speaker 1: and Bernie's down at some point, because those two aren't
• 51:27
Speaker 1: really bringing anything longspect, I don't say such things. They
• 51:31
Speaker 1: get up in the morning when they know my bell's coming,
• 51:33
Speaker 1: they fucking run around. It's like they're two different dogs.
• 51:35
Speaker 1: They're really energized. As soon as she leaves, they're on
• 51:38
Speaker 1: the floor. Burt is depressed for the rest of the day.
• 51:40
Speaker 1: It's it, it's like lights out. I'm excuse me, this
• 51:43
Speaker 1: is our only time for you to pay attention to
• 51:45
Speaker 1: me because she's gone, and so she leaves and then
• 51:49
Speaker 1: he goes to bed. It's like lights out days over.
• 51:52
Speaker 1: They're probably just on a very bizarre sleep schedule. They
• 51:54
Speaker 1: don't know, they don't know what time of data is there,
• 51:56
Speaker 1: what they should be doing. They're just like, Oh, it
• 51:57
Speaker 1: looks like it's bedtime for her, we'll just pass out.
• 52:00
Speaker 1: I had a long day yesterday and I came home
• 52:03
Speaker 1: and got right into my poor Lafem pajamas from my company,
• 52:07
Speaker 1: from my friend Robin Wright. Best pajamas. I never used
• 52:09
Speaker 1: to wear pajamas until I got these. They're amazing. And yeah,
• 52:13
Speaker 1: I got into bed. I had friends in town, and
• 52:15
Speaker 1: I had social events every night for the last five days.
• 52:18
Speaker 1: So yeah, last night, I've not seen you in such
• 52:20
Speaker 1: a condition in a while. You heart walked into my
• 52:23
  Speaker 1: room and I said, I can't. I just can't do anything.
• 52:26
Speaker 1: I said, can you just cancel my day? And he
• 52:28
Speaker 1: said no, Alison will kill me, my manager, And I said, okay,
• 52:32
Speaker 1: just asking. I was asking for a friend if it
• 52:34
Speaker 1: was cancelable. And what did I do? You said no?
• 52:38
Speaker 1: And what else? You said? You need to eat something.
• 52:40
Speaker 1: I'm gonna go get you McDonald's and you did. You
• 52:42
Speaker 1: got me sausage, emancmuffin, which is my hangover food, and
• 52:45
Speaker 1: a hash brown, and I actually ate two sausage eckmancmuffins.
• 52:48
Speaker 1: I'm not proud to admit that, especially since we just
• 52:50
Speaker 1: got off the phone with the Mark, but I did
• 52:53
Speaker 1: feel better. I was slightly nauseous, and I just powered through.
• 52:57
Speaker 1: You know, I am good like that. I will fulfill
• 53:00
Speaker 1: my responsibilities. Nothing keeps you down. You were able to
• 53:04
Speaker 1: work out at eight am. Have you guys heard about
• 53:07
Speaker 1: this lightning fit workout where they strap everything up to
• 53:10
Speaker 1: your body and you're connected to these electrodes. It's like
• 53:13
Speaker 1: an electrode suit and it stimulates your muscle, so it
• 53:17
Speaker 1: contracts your muscles at an alarming rate. So the workout
• 53:20
Speaker 1: itself is ten to fifteen minutes long, which is exactly
• 53:24
Speaker 1: the duration I'm interested in working out. And I'm super sore,
• 53:28
Speaker 1: like my buttchees fire. Yeah, my lower ab well that
• 53:32
Speaker 1: could be for a couple of reasons, but my lower
• 53:34
Speaker 1: abs are super, super sore. So that is a great
• 53:37
Speaker 1: workout to complement my workouts with Ben Bruno. To supplement
• 53:40
Speaker 1: your workouts with Ben Bruno. He was like five days
• 53:43
  Speaker 1: a week for a while, and I didn't know if
• 53:44
Speaker 1: you were going to make it through, the homicide rate
• 53:46
Speaker 1: at your house was going to go up. Yeah, yeah, Yeah,
• 53:48
Speaker 1: it's better that I see Ben like four times max
• 53:51
Speaker 1: per week, no more than that, and then that's when
• 53:53
Speaker 1: things start to get a little bit dice. Do you
• 53:55
Speaker 1: feel like your body responds best when you are incorporating
• 53:57
Speaker 1: other workouts because you do plot ease. Now, maybe we're
• 54:00
Speaker 1: going to introduce this lightning fit. Do you like doing
• 54:02
Speaker 1: those different Yeah, I'd like to change it up. My
• 54:04
Speaker 1: body has been responsive to like all the stuff I'm
• 54:07
Speaker 1: doing because of those peptides I'm on, you know, I'm
• 54:10
Speaker 1: on these peptides that like kind of help your body
• 54:12
Speaker 1: a shed fat and they keep you thin, you know,
• 54:16
Speaker 1: they kind of keep you thin and fit. So as
• 54:18
Speaker 1: soon as I manipulate my body in any way with
• 54:20
Speaker 1: diet or exercise, I get results right away, which didn't
• 54:23
Speaker 1: used to be the case. So a lot of people
• 54:25
Speaker 1: talk about being in their forties and hating what's happening
• 54:28
Speaker 1: to their body. But I have to tell you, like
• 54:30
Speaker 1: I'm having the opposite experience because well, because of these peptides. Well,
• 54:34
Speaker 1: because you found doctor dominic freed and read and you
• 54:37
Speaker 1: inject yourself twice a day, right, yes, in the morning
• 54:40
Speaker 1: and at night. Her office is pretty full. I've referred
• 54:44
Speaker 1: like three or four more people and they're like, we
• 54:46
  Speaker 1: don't they can't get in. I would love, I want
• 54:48
Speaker 1: anything to preserve myself. I know, it's basically like you're
• 54:51
Speaker 1: being embalmed. I know, I know, sweetheart. So for people
• 54:55
Speaker 1: out there who you know, can't afford a personal trainer,
• 54:58
Speaker 1: or can't afford to go to an anti aging doctor
• 55:01
Speaker 1: or any of that stuff, which is pretty much most people,
• 55:05
Speaker 1: Mark's program is a great way for you to start
• 55:07
Speaker 1: to see differences in your body and to get really
• 55:09
Speaker 1: healthy about the food you're putting in and to eat clean.
• 55:13
Speaker 1: I remember when he was telling me about like dried almonds.
• 55:15
Speaker 1: I was like, dried ah Man's gross. Like there are
• 55:17
Speaker 1: so many things that I had no appreciation for because
• 55:21
Speaker 1: I had never tried them before. Really like, I'm not
• 55:24
Speaker 1: going to eat a handful of almonds as a snack.
• 55:26
Speaker 1: But once you do try those things, you realize what
• 55:30
Speaker 1: you're putting into your body is clean food, and the
• 55:33
Speaker 1: clean food is so much healthier than anything you'll ever
• 55:37
Speaker 1: get from a restaurant or well where else would you
• 55:41
Speaker 1: get food. I guess, well, but to your point, they
• 55:43
Speaker 1: all work together. So the diet, the food, your skin,
• 55:47
Speaker 1: all those things. So if you're putting the right things
• 55:49
Speaker 1: into your body, maybe you're not going to need to
• 55:50
Speaker 1: see an anti aging doctor because you're kind of doing
• 55:53
Speaker 1: the right thing already. Like all those things help, right,
• 55:56
Speaker 1: And so go to vendus nutrition dot com if you're interested,
• 55:58
Speaker 1: and just look at the meal plan, ounces and stuff,
• 56:00
Speaker 1: and you'll get a good idea of what what it is.
• 56:03
Speaker 1: And it's not a diet. It is a lifestyle. You
• 56:06
Speaker 1: keep saying that, and it's true. It is a lifestyle.
• 56:08
Speaker 1: It's just changing the way you look at food. And
• 56:10
Speaker 1: it's totally sustainable, you know. I mean, I'm doing it.
• 56:13
Speaker 1: I don't cook. I mean I have like five different meals,
• 56:15
Speaker 1: but like I just packed four ounces of turkey. I
• 56:18
Speaker 1: waited out on the scale and put in like an
• 56:20
Speaker 1: ounce of avocado and mustard, and I have my lunch
• 56:23
Speaker 1: and I should have had some blueberries or an apple,
• 56:25
Speaker 1: but I forgot that part can So yeah, I'm sure
• 56:29
Speaker 1: there's an apple tree somewhere I can just grab one
• 56:31
Speaker 1: off of. But it is sustainable, so it is a
• 56:33
Speaker 1: program that works long term. So Brandon needs to move
• 56:36
Speaker 1: out of his neighborhood. Right, you need to find a place.
• 56:38
Speaker 1: You need a place for you, your partner, and I
• 56:43
Speaker 1: forgot about those forecasts. I'm probably just gonna go see
• 56:46
Speaker 1: if the animal shelter has a room for us, because
• 56:48
Speaker 1: it's the only place that's going to take forecasts. Are
• 56:50
Speaker 1: you do you have these forecats permanently or are you? Yes?
• 56:54
Speaker 1: I know, I know everyone listening is judging me. I
• 56:57
Speaker 1: judge myself on a daily basis. I also foster for
• 57:00
Speaker 1: a local shelter, so sometimes I can have up to
• 57:02
Speaker 1: like ten cats in my house. It's not great. I mean,
• 57:06
Speaker 1: don't you feel like Bindy the crocodile Hunter's daughter when
• 57:08
Speaker 1: that happens? Kind of? I mean they're little, so they
• 57:10
Speaker 1: stay in like the little kennel and you bottle feed
• 57:12
Speaker 1: them and then once they get to eight weeks you
• 57:14
Speaker 1: find them homes. But it's a real situation. Yeah. Well,
• 57:18
Speaker 1: I mean, I guess good for you is all I
• 57:20
Speaker 1: can say to that, you know. I mean, I wish
• 57:22
Speaker 1: I could give you some more a cat encouragement, but
• 57:23
Speaker 1: I just don't have it in me, Like I do
• 57:25
Speaker 1: not have affection for cats. I don't want anything bad
• 57:29
Speaker 1: to happen to them, But I'm also not looking to
• 57:31
Speaker 1: get one. I'll make note of that. Yeah, I don't
• 57:34
Speaker 1: like animals that go to the bathroom inside, even though
• 57:37
Speaker 1: my dogs too. I don't like animals that have like
• 57:40
Speaker 1: a potty that's exposed to the air that I'm breathing it,
• 57:44
Speaker 1: like a litter box in someone's house with ship on it.
• 57:48
Speaker 1: To me, that's that's a deal breaker. Well, you know
• 57:50
Speaker 1: what I'll tell you that is worse than that. It
• 57:53
Speaker 1: is seeing a fucking cat. And this is true. I've
• 57:55
Speaker 1: seen my friend's cat use the toilet to go to
• 57:59
Speaker 1: the bathroom. Great, what's wrong with that? No, you think
• 58:01
Speaker 1: that that's what I thought, and then you see it
• 58:03
Speaker 1: happening and it's suddenly very unsettling. Well, I would like
• 58:07
Speaker 1: to see that actually and then decide if I'm against
• 58:09
Speaker 1: it or if I'm for it, because that sounds like
• 58:11
Speaker 1: to me like the only fucking reasonable move cats can
• 58:14
Speaker 1: make at this juncture in society. They have abused their
• 58:17
Speaker 1: privileges for too long by shipping in a box and
• 58:20
Speaker 1: then hiding the ship from us with their fucking legs,
• 58:23
Speaker 1: kicking it away and burying it, and then so not
• 58:26
Speaker 1: only are we cleaning up their ship, we're digging and
• 58:29
Speaker 1: looking for it like an archaeologist. And I'm not interested
• 58:32
Speaker 1: in that. So if they're if you're telling me that
• 58:34
Speaker 1: cats are now evolutionarily going to use the toilet, I
• 58:38
Speaker 1: say amen, I'll get your cat. Then okay, Well this
• 58:43
Speaker 1: has been a very enlightening episode. I mean, I feel
• 58:45
Speaker 1: there is a lot of body issues going around in
• 58:48
Speaker 1: this world that we live in, and you want to
• 58:51
Speaker 1: just like hit somebody with a magic wand and let
• 58:53
Speaker 1: them have what they want in life, you know, so
• 58:55
Speaker 1: that they don't even have to stress about it. But
• 58:57
Speaker 1: the thing about that is, even if you got what
• 58:59
Speaker 1: you wanted you to so decide to change the goal posts,
• 59:02
Speaker 1: and you would be unhappy about something else. So embracing
• 59:05
Speaker 1: all of yourself is a very important active I guess practice, Well,
• 59:10
Speaker 1: it's never gonna end. So I think you have to
• 59:11
Speaker 1: get to a certain point where there is a level
• 59:13
Speaker 1: of acceptance and like self encouragement for improvement that's not
• 59:17
Speaker 1: necessarily based on any one goal, is just always being better.
• 59:22
Speaker 1: I think that's a healthy way to look at it. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
• 59:25
Speaker 1: that's a good way to look at it. I mean, oh, God,
• 59:30
  Speaker 1: what a day. I mean, what a day, Margarita. It's
• 59:34
Speaker 1: going to solve this now. Yeah, Margarita and a joint
• 59:37
Speaker 1: by the way, thank you very much. Okay, congratulations Shane.
