- 0:02Speaker 1: This is the Team Up Play Show podcast. Previously in
- 0:27Speaker 1: the City of Bones, Manny Ellington sits on your couch
- 0:32Speaker 1: drinking a cup of tea. Check. Okay, now that I
- 0:36Speaker 1: let you lay down, you gotta tell me what's going on. Yeah,
- 0:39Speaker 1: of course.
- 0:40Speaker 2: I look at her hard, meeting her gaze, deciding if
- 0:45Speaker 2: I should do this or not.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Jackie, I'm Rachel. First, we're going to burn that library down,
- 0:54Speaker 1: find Flay and kill this paper ghost. He doesn't quote
- 1:00Speaker 1: who took my paw Shamus from us? Then we'll take
- 1:06Speaker 1: the setti Shay gets out of the passenger side and says,
- 1:11Speaker 1: fuck it, we'll do it another day. You all close
- 1:14Speaker 1: your eyes, holding hands, Quanta, your head on Arthur's forehead.
- 1:20Speaker 3: Okay, you ready?
- 1:22Speaker 1: You all open your eyes back in time, Jason, you
- 1:27Speaker 1: open your eyes, not as Jason, a wooden staff in
- 1:30Speaker 1: your hand with a green orb on top, the book
- 1:34Speaker 1: that resides in Jason's chest in your hand, and a
- 1:38Speaker 1: cloak flawing behind you. Jamir, you see first a screen
- 1:44Speaker 1: and pass that sharp eye slits thing, and you feel
- 1:50Speaker 1: stiff metal wings on your back, claws on your hands. Oh,
- 1:56Speaker 1: you're the everwing of the everway. Quant You also have
- 2:01Speaker 1: a flowing cape, a blade attached to your arm. You
- 2:07Speaker 1: feel your body. No one else can see it, but
- 2:09Speaker 1: you're a large day man under armor.
- 2:12Speaker 4: Derek.
- 2:13Speaker 1: A woman runs up to you. Her body is covered
- 2:17Speaker 1: in fire. She has a black bandana around her head.
- 2:23Speaker 1: In her hands are two chains that she drags behind
- 2:28Speaker 1: her on the ground with broken manacles. She looks at
- 2:33Speaker 1: three of you. Spellbook bright Blade everwing war hero has
- 2:39Speaker 1: come to force the last Evos on the space barge.
- 2:44Speaker 1: We have to stop her. Ellington Electric has been a
- 2:52Speaker 1: part of New Babble since the founding age. Before the
- 2:56Speaker 1: Silent Pilgrim's left, before the Evos were departed, Ellington was there.
- 3:03Speaker 1: The company provided jobs and electrical wonders to the city.
- 3:08Speaker 1: To your knowledge, the Ellingtons were not public figures back
- 3:12Speaker 1: in the day, but worked in the shadows to provide
- 3:15Speaker 1: for New Babbel. But this Ellington manny, his face is
- 3:20Speaker 1: well known. His brilliance and his philanthropy greatly outshined his forebears,
- 3:28Speaker 1: and thus fame followed. He made electric rail travel basically
- 3:33Speaker 1: free when oil prices skyrocketed due to the election of
- 3:37Speaker 1: Adrian stephenson of Stephenson Oil. He made practical and affordable
- 3:43Speaker 1: electric hover cars. When when Clank Industries announced they would
- 3:47Speaker 1: only be putting company resources into their new line of
- 3:50Speaker 1: long and curvaceous francs. He made the electricity that ran
- 3:57Speaker 1: to the shoot legal and let it remain free when
- 4:01Speaker 1: the city's lawyers tried to charge the entire shoot of theft.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Now he sits in Jamier's living room and he sees
- 4:09Speaker 1: the paper Phantom PLoP out of a bookshelf and a
- 4:13Speaker 1: fully covered Ronnie strolling in through the back door.
- 4:19Speaker 3: Good even phantom, mm mmmmm.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Meant to do that. Meant to do that, mister Earlington.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Good evening. Now that's interesting. That's not what I expected
- 4:33Speaker 1: at all. Who were you expecting a master of the house.
- 4:41Speaker 3: They're out at the moment. Can we help We're like
- 4:45Speaker 3: a secretary. Yeah, we're dual secretaries.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Well, forgive me. I should introduce myself. I'm Manny. I
- 4:57Speaker 1: must you, you must forgive me. Me. My father Adam,
- 5:02Speaker 1: he funded superheroes and there is something he left here
- 5:11Speaker 1: that has pinged on my sensors.
- 5:15Speaker 3: We forgive you, Yes, so forgiven. I do like a
- 5:20Speaker 3: church and New Babbel day.
- 5:24Speaker 5: Yeah, what is the sign of the sign of the church.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Of the new Babel day.
- 5:27Speaker 3: I circle my hands. So imagine like disc jockey, but
- 5:35Speaker 3: on a different plane. So palms forward, disc jockey.
- 5:40Speaker 5: You're making a little little wax on whack up.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Yes, so Forgivens. Yes, yeah, Jason believe that too.
- 5:52Speaker 1: If it is an inconvenience, I would take it back
- 5:57Speaker 1: to Ellington Electric. But I didn't expect to find heroes here.
- 6:03Speaker 1: I saw you in the paper.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Yeah that was that was us about whatever it is
- 6:09Speaker 3: you came for. We probably should should wait for the
- 6:14Speaker 3: master of the house because my assumption is they think
- 6:17Speaker 3: whatever it is belongs to them.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Yes, of course, the everhart is a powerful tool. He
- 6:25Speaker 1: gestures to the dragon mech behind him. Yeah, not to
- 6:31Speaker 1: be rude. You know us, We know you. Who's your friend?
- 6:36Speaker 3: Do I sense someone inside of this mech?
- 6:39Speaker 1: You do? It is important to me, as I'm sure
- 6:43Speaker 1: it's important to you to keep some identities hidden. Yeah, right,
- 6:50Speaker 1: So what do we call your associate? Then he glances back.
- 6:56Speaker 1: They shake their head. Now I don't think that they
- 7:00Speaker 1: have chosen a name. Oh, we can work up that.
- 7:04Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, shall we while we wait?
- 7:06Speaker 2: Sure?
- 7:06Speaker 1: Let's yeah, you want to we can.
- 7:08Speaker 3: I sit primly on the edge of the couch.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Unfortunately, that is not why I'm here. As I said,
- 7:15Speaker 1: my father, Adam funded superheroes, bought this very house. I
- 7:21Speaker 1: wish to follow in his stead. I'm here to offer
- 7:25Speaker 1: my aid and perhaps ask you for yours. If I
- 7:34Speaker 1: understand your meaning, I have to say, mister Ellington, our
- 7:39Speaker 1: services are not for sale. He's right, Well, then perhaps
- 7:46Speaker 1: I can appeal to your love of this city.
- 7:49Speaker 3: That might work.
- 7:51Speaker 1: What do you have in mind? Are you aware of
- 7:55Speaker 1: the vote coming up? Of course, the vote to vote,
- 8:00Speaker 1: vote to vote. This city I love and it needs
- 8:05Speaker 1: a change. The current mayor is wicked, corrupt, and his
- 8:12Speaker 1: hold over this city will only strengthen if he wins
- 8:15Speaker 1: another election. And I don't care who wins. I just
- 8:20Speaker 1: need a change. We need a change.
- 8:24Speaker 3: Do respect change without change for the better? Is just change?
- 8:31Speaker 1: Do we do err on the side of overthrowing governments? Though?
- 8:35Speaker 3: That's that is true, but ideally to pave the way
- 8:41Speaker 3: for something better.
- 8:42Speaker 1: My assumption is that you would agree that anything would
- 8:46Speaker 1: be better than our current situation.
- 8:50Speaker 3: I mean either of the two other candidates certainly.
- 8:54Speaker 1: And this is where I need your aid. Who you
- 8:58Speaker 1: want us to cut? I hope it doesn't come to that.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Cut the murder on the eyelids.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Oh that's worse than dick. I don't know why, Probably
- 9:09Speaker 3: because I have those and I don't have the other one.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Cut someone right on the butt crack. Just think of
- 9:17Speaker 1: the worst places. You get a paper that I can
- 9:18Speaker 1: do it. I could do it. You may need to
- 9:21Speaker 1: play dirty. They're playing dirty. We have to as well.
- 9:26Speaker 1: I've proposed electrical voting booths across the city to take
- 9:30Speaker 1: people's votes. They're in fact being installed now. The city
- 9:35Speaker 1: council loved this idea. Oh no paper ballads. That's great.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Could love that.
- 9:42Speaker 6: The ones though, Oh yeah that is good. Wait, never mind,
- 9:45Speaker 6: I do love that. Sarcasm revoked bell it. It works
- 9:51Speaker 6: on a number of levels.
- 9:53Speaker 1: I they think that I will control the vote that
- 9:58Speaker 1: comes through, but I I am, in fact simply planning
- 10:02Speaker 1: to let the people vote. Let the vote be true.
- 10:07Speaker 3: You've convinced the council that you will throw the election
- 10:10Speaker 3: with your machines.
- 10:11Speaker 1: I'm on the city Council. I'm one of the veiled members.
- 10:16Speaker 3: Whoa is he telling the truth?
- 10:20Speaker 1: I think on your successful scan from last time, you
- 10:23Speaker 1: succeed a very high you get a good sense that
- 10:26Speaker 1: he is telling the truth.
- 10:28Speaker 3: That is quite the revelation.
- 10:31Speaker 1: Have you got any paper in his pants? Roll a
- 10:34Speaker 1: sense check for you, Jason, paper in your pants? You
- 10:38Speaker 1: got any paper in your pants? This is a basic
- 10:41Speaker 1: check for you. I'm only a D four, kind of six. Nice,
- 10:47Speaker 1: I rolled a four. There is no paper on him.
- 10:51Speaker 1: M all right?
- 10:53Speaker 3: What about Dino mighte?
- 10:55Speaker 1: Oh, that's good. Over the name of the guy.
- 10:59Speaker 3: And is there any reaction from the person in the suit?
- 11:02Speaker 1: No? I think, well, I think with your electric sense,
- 11:05Speaker 1: you do sense a little of amusement going through their system.
- 11:11Speaker 1: And the city council, of which I am a member,
- 11:14Speaker 1: is the main problem. I don't know if you remember,
- 11:19Speaker 1: but there is a fail safe pretend we don't remember.
- 11:25Speaker 3: Yeah, speak to us like we're little babies.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Yeah, just little babies. They put the law into effect
- 11:32Speaker 1: when the mayor was elected four years ago that if
- 11:35Speaker 1: this city votes to hold an election, the city council
- 11:39Speaker 1: must also pass a majority vote to affirm the city's
- 11:43Speaker 1: decisions right, the idea being that the council was chosen
- 11:48Speaker 1: by and then must represent ardently the people of their
- 11:52Speaker 1: district to the mayor's office. This, of course, is a
- 11:55Speaker 1: farce and I know for a fact that there will
- 11:59Speaker 1: be a majory already vote to negate the affirmation to
- 12:03Speaker 1: hold a mayoral election. The voice of the people will
- 12:06Speaker 1: be squashed, and our wicked tyrant will be happy to
- 12:10Speaker 1: remain in his palace of opulence. Just tell us who
- 12:14Speaker 1: we need to cut. I think we I think we
- 12:16Speaker 1: can agree that that's not what we want.
- 12:20Speaker 3: It's not what we want. But just doing it your way, phantom.
- 12:24Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 12:25Speaker 1: I guess we can. I don't know. Do they vote
- 12:27Speaker 1: by paper or electricity or do they just do it
- 12:30Speaker 1: like a YA and a situation. There will be a
- 12:33Speaker 1: verbal vote, and that's the one thing we can't control.
- 12:36Speaker 3: Fuck how is that communicated to the people.
- 12:40Speaker 1: It doesn't matter.
- 12:43Speaker 3: I mean I it's not not not something we can't control.
- 12:48Speaker 3: Oh yeah, you got so many negatives.
- 12:50Speaker 1: People are filled with electricity. Listen, listen. Please, the less
- 12:55Speaker 1: I know about your methods, the better. But the saily
- 12:59Speaker 1: cutting people the butt.
- 13:00Speaker 3: Crawt, Yes, that's not going to be our method for sure.
- 13:03Speaker 1: The city needs heroes now needs you like it needed
- 13:08Speaker 1: you before. I will control the voting, and by that
- 13:13Speaker 1: I mean I will let the people vote. You can
- 13:19Speaker 1: help with the city council.
- 13:22Speaker 3: What about ever dragon the dragon Heart Oh, dragon Heart School,
- 13:27Speaker 3: dragon Heart's School.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Ellington pauses, looks at you. I came here in the
- 13:37Speaker 1: hopes of with all the hero activity happening in the city,
- 13:45Speaker 1: the slight hope that maybe I would be able to
- 13:49Speaker 1: meet and talk to you. But two of you are here,
- 13:52Speaker 1: and this is this is a destined meeting. I'm sure
- 13:55Speaker 1: of it.
- 13:58Speaker 3: That's kind of words.
- 13:59Speaker 1: But yeah, hey, does he have guns? The guy America?
- 14:04Speaker 1: Are you asking? Ellington? There are certain defensive capability dragons.
- 14:12Speaker 3: Oh, dragons, I was thinking scaled justice.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Oh, that's also fucking good.
- 14:17Speaker 3: But as I was saying, there is a third member
- 14:21Speaker 3: of our team, and well importantly, yeah, we will, well
- 14:28Speaker 3: we'll rope rachel In. I'm would have felt more destined
- 14:32Speaker 3: if if he were here.
- 14:34Speaker 1: This is how we can win. I will if you're
- 14:40Speaker 1: in agreement, send the list of the veiled city council
- 14:45Speaker 1: members over to you through the tubes. Is the nest
- 14:50Speaker 1: below still active? My father told me of it. It
- 14:53Speaker 1: is very well. Well, thank you, heroes. I will take
- 14:58Speaker 1: no more of your time.
- 15:00Speaker 3: Thank you for this information and for wanting to make
- 15:05Speaker 3: this city a better one.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Maybe next time, send us a tube before showing up,
- 15:11Speaker 1: I will do so. I wasn't sure if there might
- 15:16Speaker 1: need to be a little that ever, Heart has been
- 15:19Speaker 1: dormant for decades. I wasn't sure if it was thieves
- 15:24Speaker 1: or a new master of the house.
- 15:27Speaker 3: Makes sense, you didn't know what to expect.
- 15:29Speaker 1: It's under a protection and that is why I brought
- 15:34Speaker 1: with me. What's his name, Dragonheart? Oh? Hell yeah, nice
- 15:39Speaker 1: or whatever they decide, we will be away. Then he
- 15:45Speaker 1: puts his cane on the floor and you'll hear me
- 15:49Speaker 1: through the tubes soon.
- 15:52Speaker 3: Thank you, see you in the tubes.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Drag undumb. Oh, he's gone. That's cool, and it's pretty strong.
- 16:02Speaker 1: It's got to be a thing, right, yeah, dragon Gundam,
- 16:05Speaker 1: of course gotta be gotta be Yeah, as soon as
- 16:08Speaker 1: as soon as he's gone, I'll unfurl paper and okay,
- 16:14Speaker 1: so what should probably call? I don't know. It sounded
- 16:19Speaker 1: did it sound like on the earpiece that Jamiir was
- 16:22Speaker 1: with someone?
- 16:23Speaker 3: Yeah, he sounded busy, or at least that he didn't
- 16:27Speaker 3: want to talk.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Never stopped me from bothering him before.
- 16:31Speaker 3: I think we should just wait for him to come
- 16:33Speaker 3: home respectfully, respectfully.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Yeah, but it is late. You have been active in
- 16:41Speaker 1: the city. There is a time now to sleep. What
- 16:45Speaker 1: you guys doing. You sleep here Jamier's and wait for
- 16:48Speaker 1: him to come home, going home home? What are we doing?
- 16:57Speaker 3: It's late, late, is very uly, Jim.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll crash on the couch. Okay, So go ahead
- 17:03Speaker 1: and take a recovery rest, you too, Jamir? Yes, how
- 17:08Speaker 1: do I do that again? Give me that energy so
- 17:12Speaker 1: recovery for recovery rest. You roll the strength die and
- 17:16Speaker 1: whatever number you get, you get back that amount of
- 17:19Speaker 1: energy points. You can put them wherever you want. You
- 17:21Speaker 1: also roll your resilience dye and you get back whatever
- 17:26Speaker 1: number you roll as HP. Oh, my EPs are back
- 17:30Speaker 1: to full. Nice. Damn.
- 17:32Speaker 2: I don't use my EPs like you do. Okay, what
- 17:40Speaker 2: your HP? Get back up to jam I'm up to ten. Nice,
- 17:45Speaker 2: up to ten, Jamiir. You wake up in Jackie's room
- 17:50Speaker 2: on her bed. She's not in the room, she has
- 17:53Speaker 2: gone out to sleep on the couch. You look down
- 17:57Speaker 2: at your body and you're still hurt, real hurt. But
- 18:04Speaker 2: you have healed quicker than normal human would.
- 18:07Speaker 1: That is kind of cool.
- 18:10Speaker 2: I swing my feet over, I put my hands on
- 18:15Speaker 2: my knees, and I slowly sit up, feeling the new
- 18:23Speaker 2: aches and pains. As my feet touched the floor, I
- 18:28Speaker 2: put weight on them, pushed myself up, try to get
- 18:33Speaker 2: a little stretch going. I look, did I really make
- 18:38Speaker 2: a bloody mass of these sheets here?
- 18:40Speaker 1: Yeah? For sure. I take off the.
- 18:48Speaker 2: Bed sheet and I just kind of turn it into
- 18:51Speaker 2: a bundle and kind of try to fold that over
- 18:55Speaker 2: itself slightly neatly and put that under Jackie's bed. I'll
- 19:01Speaker 2: take one of her shirts her slightly, you know, one
- 19:04Speaker 2: of her baggy or teas, and.
- 19:06Speaker 1: I'll throw that on.
- 19:09Speaker 2: No wait, wait, wait, wait, I had my I got
- 19:11Speaker 2: my clothes from my celp. So yeah, I'll put on fresh,
- 19:17Speaker 2: fresh clothes and I'll try to hobble to the bathroom
- 19:21Speaker 2: to give myself a little bird bath.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Yeah. As you open Jackie's door, she is standing there,
- 19:26Speaker 1: bouncing from toe to toe, just waiting for you to
- 19:30Speaker 1: wake up. All right, all right, yeah, hey, morning morning.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Here she hands your glass of orange juice. Oh ship,
- 19:38Speaker 1: thank you. Yeah, what do you what are you doing?
- 19:41Speaker 1: I'm gonna I need I need to use the restroom. Okay, yeah,
- 19:44Speaker 1: I'll wait, yeah, yeah, I'll slip the orange juice carefully
- 19:49Speaker 1: place it on the counter in the bathroom. Look at
- 19:53Speaker 1: myself in the mirror.
- 19:58Speaker 2: I might have made a all right, all right, splash
- 20:03Speaker 2: some water on my face, hit my pits, Splash some
- 20:07Speaker 2: water to flush out the open wounds I got. Yeah,
- 20:11Speaker 2: I'll raid the Is this where they keep the band aids?
- 20:15Speaker 2: If so, I'll put some band aids that I get
- 20:18Speaker 2: from the bottom of the sink over the larger gashes.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Under my shirt. And then yeah, once.
- 20:27Speaker 2: I'm looking cleaned up enough so smelling of hands soap
- 20:32Speaker 2: all over, I'll definitely like, also, just grab Jackie's deodorant
- 20:36Speaker 2: and just hit myself with that, no matter what the
- 20:40Speaker 2: scent is, and then I.
- 20:42Speaker 1: Will flush the toilet.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Second thought, I will pee And then I flushed the
- 20:51Speaker 2: toilet again, quick rinse.
- 20:54Speaker 1: Of hands, and I head back out there. Yeah, Jackie's
- 20:58Speaker 1: waiting for you. She gives you some breakfast, and she's
- 21:02Speaker 1: just like, all right, great, what do we what's going on? Like?
- 21:08Speaker 1: Tell me everything? What do we do? What? What? How
- 21:10Speaker 1: can I How can I help?
- 21:13Speaker 2: So short answer, I don't have answers. Okay, slightly longer answer.
- 21:30Speaker 2: I need help, but I'm scared getting you involved. Being
- 21:35Speaker 2: full earnest right right right, With that in mind, right now,
- 21:44Speaker 2: I need to reconnect with my friends, make sure they're okay.
- 21:48Speaker 1: We split up. It got crazy last night. Yeah, can
- 21:51Speaker 1: I can I come? Can I meet them? I can?
- 21:54Speaker 1: I can help Jim here. You know I'm smart. I'm
- 21:56Speaker 1: I know you're smart. Jackie, this is happening you. You
- 22:00Speaker 1: can't give me put your put yourself, dude, put yourself
- 22:05Speaker 1: in my shoes though, Like, if this was happening to
- 22:10Speaker 1: me and you were sitting there on the edge, wouldn't
- 22:13Speaker 1: it be killing you? Just just when you're right, you're right,
- 22:18Speaker 1: I can help, Like, all right, get dressed, get dressed,
- 22:22Speaker 1: we're going okay, okay, okay. She rushes to her own
- 22:24Speaker 1: room and gets dressed, comes out with you.
- 22:27Speaker 5: Don't want to gratuitously describe everything you do in the bathroom.
- 22:31Speaker 1: I'm good. Actually, Jackie hits her to utterant. It's like,
- 22:39Speaker 1: hang on a second, one of these long curly hairs.
- 22:47Speaker 1: Oh it's a stick. It's a stick in New babble
- 22:50Speaker 1: for sure. Yeah, it's made a like lard whale for
- 22:57Speaker 1: some reason.
- 22:58Speaker 3: But a little bit is that hasn't everybody used historically?
- 23:03Speaker 1: Yeah? I thought they used to use it as soap.
- 23:05Speaker 1: I think that's true. Jackie gets ready and you guys
- 23:10Speaker 1: head off to your house. Is there anything you guys
- 23:15Speaker 1: want to be.
- 23:16Speaker 2: I'll definitely slip it an alley and I'll take us
- 23:19Speaker 2: down into the tubes slash sewers and I'm gonna I'm
- 23:25Speaker 2: gonna make a flight star for us to fly there on.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Oh cool. Oh yeah, she's just wrapped around arms, wrapped
- 23:34Speaker 1: around your waist and just holding on and just like
- 23:38Speaker 1: whooping and hollering as you split, as you split down
- 23:46Speaker 1: the tubes. Yeah.
- 23:47Speaker 2: So I'm gonna take her first to the nest.
- 23:51Speaker 1: You go in the nest, the first thing you see
- 24:00Speaker 1: pedestals with the Everwing suits. She looks at you a
- 24:06Speaker 1: tear welling up. Jamr, is this is this real? This
- 24:13Speaker 1: is it? This is where it all down? Oh my god.
- 24:19Speaker 1: The next thing you see is.
- 24:21Speaker 3: Quanta in a towel and a towel wrapped around her
- 24:24Speaker 3: head and brushing her day teeth.
- 24:26Speaker 1: Coming out from the.
- 24:28Speaker 5: And Jason also in full paper gear, a towel on
- 24:32Speaker 5: his head and the Everwing bra just oh.
- 24:38Speaker 1: You also see Lance. You see Lance and Dirk playing
- 24:44Speaker 1: cards at a small table out here in the Everwing nest.
- 24:49Speaker 1: They have met up and they're doing all right. Oh good, gradual.
- 24:52Speaker 2: There's somebody with their arms wrapped around you. Intruder alert.
- 24:56Speaker 2: This is this She's with me, clearly, she with me. Everybody. Uh,
- 25:05Speaker 2: this is Jackie Jackie.
- 25:08Speaker 1: This is everybody. Hey, everybody.
- 25:10Speaker 2: So I trust her with my life. You don't have
- 25:14Speaker 2: to trust her with yours, of course, but you can't.
- 25:18Speaker 1: But you can't. I think you can. I'm so honored
- 25:22Speaker 1: to meet you guys. I'm I've been trying to track
- 25:25Speaker 1: you guys down, follow you. This is so cool. Jimyir
- 25:28Speaker 1: just told me that he's he's rige. Also, I assume
- 25:33Speaker 1: you're the paper guy, Paper Phantom, Yes, Paper Phantom and
- 25:39Speaker 1: your quantum m I gotta I'm sorry, Yeah, no, sorry,
- 25:43Speaker 1: go get ready for the day. You don't have to
- 25:46Speaker 1: entertain me. I'm I'm ready. This is what I like to.
- 25:50Speaker 3: I gotta get ready for the day.
- 25:52Speaker 1: No, it wasn't, I'm joking. Day also just means the
- 25:56Speaker 1: normal day.
- 25:58Speaker 3: I'm joking.
- 25:58Speaker 1: I'm okay. Jamire the ever Wing suits. So your grandma
- 26:05Speaker 1: wore these and fought. Yeah, it's and now they're available
- 26:13Speaker 1: for anyone to wear.
- 26:16Speaker 2: I handed to Jackie. He is supposed to keep his
- 26:21Speaker 2: hands off these. And if I have to keep repeating myself,
- 26:25Speaker 2: we're going to have more problems.
- 26:27Speaker 3: Come back in in jeans and a T shirt. I'm
- 26:29Speaker 3: so sorry. I tried.
- 26:32Speaker 1: If they didn't want us to wear them, they shouldn't
- 26:34Speaker 1: have made them so supportive. And he locks on these.
- 26:38Speaker 2: So yeah, these are these are pieces of history, and
- 26:45Speaker 2: I mean the latest model is still a fantastic piece
- 26:53Speaker 2: of technology that someone could use in theory. Wow, we
- 26:58Speaker 2: have the power source for it, you know.
- 27:01Speaker 5: Oh yes, Jamir, we actually we have a message for you.
- 27:06Speaker 1: You got a you had a visitor while you were out,
- 27:10Speaker 1: and you're sure that we can trust. We're good with
- 27:14Speaker 1: You're good? I can, I can go I can. I
- 27:17Speaker 1: don't know what's I guess above this. I don't I
- 27:20Speaker 1: can go back there. I don't. I don't need to. No, No,
- 27:23Speaker 1: you can always Quantita, you can always just like wipe
- 27:26Speaker 1: her brain, right, Yeah, but she's good trust Rachel all right,
- 27:31Speaker 1: paper unfolds. Mammy Ellington showed up with a with a
- 27:37Speaker 1: Mecca dragon suit. He said he got a ping from
- 27:42Speaker 1: from the Everhart.
- 27:44Speaker 3: The person he had with him was wearing a suit
- 27:46Speaker 3: similar to your grandmother's and it was powered by another
- 27:50Speaker 3: everheart from what I could tell from my scanning, And
- 27:55Speaker 3: he wants to help us, Jamior. He's on the city council.
- 28:03Speaker 1: Yeah. He told us that the council is planning to
- 28:06Speaker 1: shoot down the election no matter what the results are,
- 28:08Speaker 1: and we have to try and find a way to
- 28:14Speaker 1: make them let the vote go through.
- 28:18Speaker 3: Wait he was here, Yeah, in your in your living
- 28:21Speaker 3: room upstairs.
- 28:22Speaker 2: Oh shit, is this bad? Is this place blown? Do
- 28:28Speaker 2: we need to do? We need to leave?
- 28:30Speaker 3: From what I could tell, I trusted him he was
- 28:32Speaker 3: telling the truth.
- 28:33Speaker 1: Yeah, he said he his father bought this house and
- 28:37Speaker 1: worked with your grandmother. He was the sponsor. He helped
- 28:41Speaker 1: create all the technology in the everwing suits.
- 28:45Speaker 2: So this is his place kind of so he already
- 28:49Speaker 2: knew about this place.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Yeah. And you got a positive vibe of this guy. Yeah,
- 28:56Speaker 1: I mean for like a billionaire. You I know him
- 29:00Speaker 1: a little independently from the library. Oh. I also know
- 29:03Speaker 1: you from the library, Miss Garcia. Right whoa library card
- 29:07Speaker 1: four one three sixty three two. Whoa Hey it's Jason. Yeah, Hi, dude,
- 29:12Speaker 1: that is crazy, Dude, that's crazy. I need to hear
- 29:15Speaker 1: your world. I need to hear your origin story. Oh
- 29:18Speaker 1: not right now? Yeah, right, that stuff to do. But
- 29:21Speaker 1: that's all. You can join the Patreon to listen to it.
- 29:24Speaker 1: It makes it makes so awe. It's so cool man.
- 29:29Speaker 1: You you're a librarian and you're kind of bookish and weird,
- 29:32Speaker 1: but then you become this creepy ghost thing.
- 29:35Speaker 5: Yeah, you've submitted several complaints to the library asking us
- 29:37Speaker 5: to expand our graphic novels and comics section.
- 29:40Speaker 1: Yes, I have, And how are those going? Now? It's
- 29:43Speaker 1: not my priority, all right, all right, okay, so but
- 29:48Speaker 1: he wants to.
- 29:48Speaker 2: I mean, this is the thing that I've been wanting
- 29:51Speaker 2: us to tackle. Right, it's the city council.
- 29:53Speaker 3: And he's part of it but also against it. But yeah,
- 29:59Speaker 3: he said, the council still has to hold a vote.
- 30:02Speaker 3: After the there's a vote to vote, like a vote
- 30:05Speaker 3: to hold an election, and the election machines take people's vote,
- 30:09Speaker 3: but then the city council has to vote to approve that.
- 30:12Speaker 3: There's an intermediary of the City Council, and he said
- 30:15Speaker 3: that their plan is to just shoot it down. And
- 30:18Speaker 3: he said he'd promised them that it would be rigged
- 30:22Speaker 3: through his machines, but he wants to let the people speak.
- 30:26Speaker 5: Yeah, so he said he would send us the names
- 30:28Speaker 5: of everyone on the council through the tubes and we
- 30:31Speaker 5: would have to I don't know. We were trying to
- 30:33Speaker 5: figure out if we want to just coerce them or
- 30:36Speaker 5: you know, I suggested paper cutting them on their butt cracks.
- 30:39Speaker 5: We all had ideas in the meeting, equally productive, good ideas.
- 30:46Speaker 2: So he can give us all of the hidden council
- 30:49Speaker 2: members information he would trust us with that.
- 30:52Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what he said he would do.
- 30:54Speaker 1: I mean that information is closely guarded that.
- 31:01Speaker 2: I look at Jackie like that's huge.
- 31:06Speaker 1: And that shows that he really trusts us. Right, nobody knows.
- 31:10Speaker 1: Nobody knows who's behind those weird veils.
- 31:13Speaker 3: They wear sensibly even each other, Right, but.
- 31:17Speaker 1: I guess so, but maybe they Oh my god, are
- 31:20Speaker 1: we on the city council? No?
- 31:22Speaker 2: Oh, okay, I'm not. I'm not on the city council. Okay,
- 31:26Speaker 2: I mean I feel a little you could have been
- 31:30Speaker 2: probably Actually, yeah, I feel a little weird, like are
- 31:34Speaker 2: we just gonnas?
- 31:35Speaker 1: Are threatening folks? If we have to, we have to.
- 31:40Speaker 3: I kind of let electricity dance on my fingertips, or
- 31:43Speaker 3: just changing their minds.
- 31:48Speaker 1: Go inside their dreams and plant the ideas inside there
- 31:51Speaker 1: and make them think it's their own.
- 31:52Speaker 3: Idea or just is that I don't have to do
- 31:56Speaker 3: that that I thought, Yes, you will go with's idea.
- 32:01Speaker 2: Well, I know you've been able to influence people in
- 32:04Speaker 2: the moment quantum, but would you be able to do
- 32:09Speaker 2: something that would have a long term effect, like could
- 32:11Speaker 2: change how they act an upcoming vote, maybe hours or
- 32:14Speaker 2: days out.
- 32:15Speaker 3: I mean the people that I've made forget myself or
- 32:19Speaker 3: made forget Gabe that's lasted as far as I know.
- 32:24Speaker 1: Do you think that thing is as easy as taking away?
- 32:27Speaker 3: That makes Quanta pause. Yeah, I don't know. I've done
- 32:32Speaker 3: a lot of taking away.
- 32:33Speaker 1: No, we can always default back to threatening them. I
- 32:36Speaker 1: mean threatening them is there's more than one way to
- 32:40Speaker 1: threaten somebody too. I'm just gonna say too. We could,
- 32:43Speaker 1: you know, break their bones and cut their butts.
- 32:45Speaker 2: But ow, I don't want to torture anybody, right, That's
- 32:50Speaker 2: what I'm saying.
- 32:51Speaker 3: We know who you are.
- 32:52Speaker 1: We could get dirt on them. We already have dirt
- 32:56Speaker 1: on them. Yeah, we know they're on the council.
- 32:58Speaker 2: If we do some good recon Maybe if we do
- 33:01Speaker 2: recond and get real dirt, you know, things that we
- 33:05Speaker 2: other illegal things they're up to, we could blackmail them
- 33:09Speaker 2: and we can say, hey, said blackmail are extortion?
- 33:12Speaker 1: What is it? What are we doing? What is it?
- 33:14Speaker 3: You know? I couldn't tell.
- 33:15Speaker 2: You, but I do worry that you would be the
- 33:17Speaker 2: one to answer that question. Honestly.
- 33:19Speaker 1: We'll say it's we'll say it's extortion.
- 33:21Speaker 3: Right, Okay, But they're at they're at the top, like.
- 33:25Speaker 1: They Oh I don't feel bad about extorting.
- 33:27Speaker 3: No, I don't either. I'm just saying they certainly have
- 33:30Speaker 3: people in their lives, perhaps already doing that, and like
- 33:35Speaker 3: they can't. They can't be living an utter secrecy. Especially
- 33:38Speaker 3: Manny knows who they are. He's going to give us
- 33:40Speaker 3: their information that I don't. I don't know. I'm just
- 33:46Speaker 3: knowing what I know, what I've experienced with like the
- 33:49Speaker 3: Church council. They these kind of folks feel really invincible.
- 33:53Speaker 5: Oh, I have an even dumber idea. Okay, if everyone's
- 33:56Speaker 5: wearing veils, why don't we just beat the count?
- 34:02Speaker 1: Not like full body veils. They're just like slight.
- 34:06Speaker 3: Things trying to do the thing I was doing before
- 34:09Speaker 3: and making people see what we want them to see.
- 34:11Speaker 1: We could stuff our bras with paper. There's not a
- 34:15Speaker 1: lot of women. I don't know I'm going to do that.
- 34:19Speaker 5: I'm going to do my idea anyway and stuff the
- 34:21Speaker 5: Everwing brow with paper.
- 34:24Speaker 1: Let that get that off your body. A couple of
- 34:27Speaker 1: things are happening in the room around you, guys. Jackie
- 34:32Speaker 1: has taken herself out of your little tri circle as
- 34:37Speaker 1: you guys debate and talk and.
- 34:39Speaker 7: Tri circle like a tricycle of like a like a triangle,
- 34:44Speaker 7: like a a tricycle a triangle. Yes, I want to
- 34:49Speaker 7: ride my triangle.
- 34:53Speaker 1: She's removed herself from y'all's little pow wow discussion and
- 34:58Speaker 1: gone and is starting to just kind of of touched
- 35:00Speaker 1: the glass ever Wing costumes just in awe, that's happening.
- 35:07Speaker 1: The other thing that happens is you hear Lance say, oh,
- 35:13Speaker 1: well that's wild son, good luck, good luck, and he
- 35:16Speaker 1: pats Dirk on the shoulder and Dirk stands up in
- 35:22Speaker 1: full costume and starts to he waves at you, guys,
- 35:26Speaker 1: I'm going to do around for my sister. If you
- 35:29Speaker 1: need me for anything. Just he taps the blade before
- 35:35Speaker 1: before you get dark Blade.
- 35:36Speaker 3: Now.
- 35:38Speaker 1: I liked that he smiles at Quanta Dark Blade. Oh,
- 35:42Speaker 1: mister dark Blade. Yeah, Jimmy, you see his new suit
- 35:46Speaker 1: for the first time.
- 35:47Speaker 2: I thank you for coming back. And if you have
- 35:52Speaker 2: any need of our service, as meager as they may be,
- 35:57Speaker 2: I'd be honored to help.
- 35:59Speaker 3: That's kind of what I was gonna say, Dirk. It
- 36:02Speaker 3: goes the other way around. If you need us to remember, yes,
- 36:05Speaker 3: we're all a team, then we.
- 36:06Speaker 1: Will do this together. Jackie is broken from her trance
- 36:10Speaker 1: for a moment and turns around when she hears the
- 36:12Speaker 1: name bright Blade and her mouth opens. Wait, wait, yep,
- 36:18Speaker 1: that's it. He's back. It's crazy. I saw him on
- 36:23Speaker 1: the TV, but I thought it was fake.
- 36:26Speaker 5: We've got another one over there, and I point over
- 36:28Speaker 5: to his brother Rockfist, just lying unconscious in the nest.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Dirk just says, yes, that is something we will need
- 36:35Speaker 1: to deal with. It's on a list, but for now,
- 36:37Speaker 1: I must find my sister before she does any more
- 36:40Speaker 1: damage to anyone or herself. Jackie's just kind of like
- 36:43Speaker 1: sister and just kind of like trying to get caught up.
- 36:46Speaker 1: As Dirk walks out the tubes.
- 36:49Speaker 3: Wait, Jackie, you thought it was fake.
- 36:53Speaker 1: Well, I mean, bright Blade should be dead. I think,
- 36:58Speaker 1: I just I don't think think that most people would
- 37:01Speaker 1: think it's fake because they don't they're not as up
- 37:05Speaker 1: to date on you know, old superhero stuff as I am. Right, okay, so.
- 37:10Speaker 2: But probably a good chunk of people. I mean it's
- 37:14Speaker 2: pretty fantastical. Some people doubt the age of heroes altogether.
- 37:19Speaker 1: Right, So I don't know. Oh wait, wait, you're asking,
- 37:24Speaker 1: are you you're Ronnie? Yeah, you're Veronica? Yes, Oh I
- 37:30Speaker 1: get it. Yeah, well, I mean he put up live
- 37:33Speaker 1: footage of him killing the person they said you murdered,
- 37:37Speaker 1: so right, but you thought it was fake. Well, I
- 37:40Speaker 1: thought Dirk the bright Blade was fake. But it's hard
- 37:43Speaker 1: to like just make that kind of footage with him
- 37:46Speaker 1: slicing someone up. Anyway, Jim, Hey, this is crazy cool,
- 37:52Speaker 1: It is crazy. Everything's crazy. Yeah, I'm freaking out ready.
- 37:57Speaker 1: I never appropriate response. And now that you're her name
- 38:01Speaker 1: has cleared her, are you gonna unfake your death and
- 38:05Speaker 1: like try and reclaim your identity. I guess that's what
- 38:08Speaker 1: I'm thinking about. I don't I don't know if my
- 38:10Speaker 1: name is cleared. Jackie just said she thought it was fake, and.
- 38:16Speaker 3: I probably would be plenty of There probably would be
- 38:20Speaker 3: plenty of people out there who wouldn't believe me if
- 38:24Speaker 3: I unfaked it.
- 38:26Speaker 1: Lance, who's overhearing your conversation, says, hey, you's dockt your mom.
- 38:30Speaker 1: Yeah she might, uh, it might be no big deal.
- 38:33Speaker 1: I don't know she can. She's in the lawise. You know,
- 38:36Speaker 1: she's a lawyer. She's in the lawise, she's in the noise.
- 38:39Speaker 1: She's a law I know.
- 38:41Speaker 3: Yeah, she she gave me a call. I just I've
- 38:44Speaker 3: been I've been busy, and I haven't wanted to bring
- 38:47Speaker 3: them into this.
- 38:47Speaker 1: You know, Yeah, I understand, I understand, but it might
- 38:50Speaker 1: be a good time anyway. Yeah, we got we can do.
- 38:53Speaker 1: We can handle stuff without you. I put my hand around,
- 38:56Speaker 1: my arm around Jamir, right, yeah, yeah.
- 39:01Speaker 2: We can start trying to get some dirt on some
- 39:04Speaker 2: of these city council members and maybe I'll try to
- 39:08Speaker 2: connect with mister Ellington.
- 39:12Speaker 1: The three of you here, panicked footsteps running down the
- 39:15Speaker 1: stairs as Maria bursts into the nest. You should turn
- 39:23Speaker 1: on the you should turn on the TV, turn on
- 39:26Speaker 1: the news, flick it on the big screen down here,
- 39:30Speaker 1: pops on another fire. If you use this another fire
- 39:37Speaker 1: rages in the northeast corner of the city. The announcer
- 39:43Speaker 1: the historic pen Dragon Library is ablaze, bells and more
- 39:48Speaker 1: than the news. Jason, you feel it, even from this
- 39:50Speaker 1: far away. Your books, your home, the paper house you've
- 39:55Speaker 1: built around yourself is burning. I don't know.
- 40:00Speaker 3: Let's go.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Jackie looks at you. Yeah, go go.
- 40:06Speaker 3: Pull on my sweatpants and baltaclava. And as we head
- 40:10Speaker 3: into the tubes, phantom. You know you know this is
- 40:13Speaker 3: a trap, right.
- 40:14Speaker 5: I'm already a trap well ahead of you, guys, just
- 40:17Speaker 5: streaking ahead the clothes, gotcha sailing me forward, Take me Tom,
- 40:24Speaker 5: Let's do it.
- 40:25Speaker 1: You guys start sipping through the tube's phantom. As you
- 40:29Speaker 1: cover yourself in paper and start streaking through the underground
- 40:33Speaker 1: of this city, what's going on in your head?
- 40:35Speaker 5: I swore i'd protect Arthur. I swore i'd protect the library.
- 40:40Speaker 5: I swore I'd be Okay, we'll fix it, We'll do
- 40:45Speaker 5: whatever we need to do. Well, I fucked up.
- 40:49Speaker 1: By the time you arrive, so much damage has been done.
- 40:56Speaker 1: The first few floors are in flames. Use the books
- 41:00Speaker 1: as kindling to grow. Oh no, the sprinkler system and
- 41:06Speaker 1: the firefighters have begun to do their work, and the
- 41:10Speaker 1: fire has at least stopped spreading to the buildings nearby,
- 41:15Speaker 1: but it still blazes inside. How do you enter the library, Jason?
- 41:21Speaker 5: Jason's gonna try and just run in with the paper cloak,
- 41:25Speaker 5: but it's immediately like starting to catch on fire. And
- 41:28Speaker 5: after a few attempts, he's gonna see that the most
- 41:32Speaker 5: flammable part of him is is not coming with so
- 41:36Speaker 5: he's gonna ditch all the paper and just run in
- 41:38Speaker 5: street clothes.
- 41:41Speaker 1: Arthur, Arthur. You find Arthur on the ground, a bucket
- 41:52Speaker 1: fallen by his feet, the water at once held all vaporized,
- 41:58Speaker 1: A crumpled and broken step with a green orb on
- 42:01Speaker 1: top in his hand. He is crushed by a part
- 42:07Speaker 1: of the balcony that has fallen atop him. No no, no, no,
- 42:11Speaker 1: no no no no no no no no no. Blood
- 42:14Speaker 1: pools underneath him. He is dying. There is nothing you
- 42:21Speaker 1: can do to save him. Mechanically, he has no hit
- 42:25Speaker 1: points and he has no more death points.
- 42:31Speaker 5: I rushed down, trying to lift the balcony up, trying
- 42:34Speaker 5: to put paper on his wounds, just frantically running around.
- 42:40Speaker 1: Huhh, Come on, come on, come on, come, on, come on,
- 42:44Speaker 1: come back, come I come back man. No, no, no,
- 42:47Speaker 1: His eyes flicker as you come over. Oh Jason, thank goodness.
- 42:55Speaker 1: No Arthur, h you were supposed to die of old age.
- 43:03Speaker 1: Oh wait quiet. He lifts up his broken staff and
- 43:08Speaker 1: starts wiggling a little bit. Quant Is quanta here, they're coming,
- 43:13Speaker 1: They're coming. Please. He's trying to get magic to work,
- 43:17Speaker 1: starts mumbling some phrases, please please. He needs to see.
- 43:22Speaker 1: He needs to see. Come on, come on, old man,
- 43:27Speaker 1: he needs to see and Quanta. As you arrive, you
- 43:31Speaker 1: feel Arthur giving you the memory that he once tried.
- 43:36Speaker 3: To Rachel this way say strike into the library.
- 43:40Speaker 1: As the two of you get within sight and you
- 43:44Speaker 1: see Jason kneeling over a dying Arthur.
- 43:48Speaker 3: Everybody take hands please, okay, quick please Oh I take
- 43:54Speaker 3: one of Arthur's hands and Jimmy's on the other hand.
- 43:57Speaker 1: Time pauses, and you are all thrust back into the
- 44:01Speaker 1: roles in the past, the ever Wing, Bright Blade, and
- 44:06Speaker 1: Spellbook on the day that the hero Spellbook gave his
- 44:10Speaker 1: life to save millions. If you all go to Team
- 44:59Speaker 1: UPARPGI dot, I sent you a hero.
- 45:03Speaker 3: What you can do that on Team uparpg dot com.
- 45:10Speaker 1: You can do that on team up arpg dot com
- 45:14Speaker 1: my Hero for narrative effect. The space barge that is
- 45:34Speaker 1: to carry the evos off world is beginning its launch sequence.
- 45:41Speaker 1: There are evos that have decided not to go to
- 45:44Speaker 1: space and have been given sanctuary. In new babble the
- 45:50Speaker 1: fire wreath to Hero, Carte Blanche yells at you that
- 45:56Speaker 1: the war Hero has come to force the remaining evos
- 45:59Speaker 1: onto the space barge. The Range has engaged her in combat,
- 46:04Speaker 1: and the two have begun to deal blows to each
- 46:07Speaker 1: other with the power of the stars and the cosmos.
- 47:01Speaker 1: She yells at you, three, carte Blanche, the three of
- 47:04Speaker 1: you save as many people as you can. I'm going
- 47:07Speaker 1: to help the Range make your way to the evo
- 47:10Speaker 1: housing unit in the station. We'll try to slower down,
- 47:13Speaker 1: but if she gets through us, you'll be the last
- 47:15Speaker 1: line of defense. Hopefully we'll loosen her up enough for
- 47:19Speaker 1: you three.
- 47:19Speaker 3: It will be done.
- 47:20Speaker 1: Let's do it.
- 47:21Speaker 2: We're on it.
- 47:22Speaker 1: The building that the Range punched the war Hero into
- 47:26Speaker 1: is falling. War Hero responds with an equally thunderous punch,
- 47:32Speaker 1: and the two of them go flying through the air
- 47:35Speaker 1: towards the station's launch pad Carte Blanche alights herself on fire,
- 47:41Speaker 1: using her chains as flaming propellers, and streaks after them.
- 47:46Speaker 1: The building right above you is crumbling. What are you doing?
- 47:50Speaker 5: Spellbook is going to point his his staff, summon the
- 47:55Speaker 5: magic of annihilation and I before it can hit the ground,
- 47:59Speaker 5: I just want to turn the whole building to ash.
- 48:01Speaker 3: Awesome.
- 48:02Speaker 1: That's awesome. Go ahead and roll a spirit check plus
- 48:08Speaker 1: your magic of annihilation. This is a difficult check, so
- 48:13Speaker 1: I'm rolling a D twelve clackety clack fourteen it You, guys,
- 48:22Speaker 1: see this building falling. You've been given the task to
- 48:25Speaker 1: save as many people as you can. There's presumably people
- 48:28Speaker 1: in this building. There's presumably people gonna get crushed by
- 48:32Speaker 1: this building? What does the spellbook do?
- 48:35Speaker 5: Opens the book Chance, an ancient Runic language. Symbols and
- 48:41Speaker 5: sigils appear in the air. The staff comes down with
- 48:44Speaker 5: a thunderous lap.
- 48:45Speaker 1: I look to my compatriots, take care of the people,
- 48:48Speaker 1: and the building vanishes. Wow, and the people begin to fall. Now,
- 48:56Speaker 1: this part of the city has been highly evacuated, so
- 48:59Speaker 1: there's not a ton of people in the air, but
- 49:01Speaker 1: there are there are two dozen people falling in the
- 49:05Speaker 1: sky here, What are you guys doing?
- 49:07Speaker 3: Brip Blade does an intense squat and launches into the air.
- 49:13Speaker 3: Ripa moves with his strength so and it's eight els
- 49:18Speaker 3: so it's just a massive jump. But I feel it's
- 49:21Speaker 3: so powerful that there's like a little crater. He leaves
- 49:23Speaker 3: a little crater and it's almost as if he's flying
- 49:27Speaker 3: up to reach like the people, to catch as many
- 49:31Speaker 3: as he can before then he hits the ground.
- 49:33Speaker 1: Awesome, roll a mite check plus your strength. This is
- 49:40Speaker 1: also a difficult check. So I'm only a T twelve.
- 49:43Speaker 3: I believe that's a D eight and a D eight,
- 49:45Speaker 3: but let me double check twelve.
- 49:48Speaker 1: I rolled a three. Yeah what do you do? I
- 49:52Speaker 1: mean you said it? Yeah yeah.
- 49:53Speaker 3: Bright Blade does a big squat, launches into the air
- 49:57Speaker 3: and just arc and a parabola to just gather as
- 50:03Speaker 3: many people in his strong arms as he can and
- 50:06Speaker 3: then hits the ground, just lands on his legs and
- 50:09Speaker 3: absorbs the shock and creates another crater.
- 50:12Speaker 1: Man, I should do more squats anyway, you lay these
- 50:16Speaker 1: people down. You beat me by a lot, so you
- 50:19Speaker 1: got more than half of the people every wing and I.
- 50:21Speaker 3: Say, run, get to the evacuation point.
- 50:24Speaker 1: Yeah, they were they're running. Thank you, thank you. Everywing
- 50:28Speaker 1: all right, so everyone is out, so I there's still
- 50:34Speaker 1: people falling, that's what's happening.
- 50:36Speaker 2: Yes, I'm not very strong, but I'm very fast, So
- 50:41Speaker 2: I think everywing is going to try to swoop and
- 50:44Speaker 2: maybe grab two folks if I can, one with each
- 50:48Speaker 2: arm and get them to safety.
- 50:51Speaker 1: Yeah, roll a swift check, plus your your flight, jamir
- 50:57Speaker 1: or okay, Zara, I should just say every wing everywhere.
- 51:00Speaker 2: But my flight is a D six And you said sorry,
- 51:04Speaker 2: you said spirits or swift swift. My swift is a
- 51:08Speaker 2: D twenty. I shit you not. I got two one
- 51:16Speaker 2: on the D s and the D twenty, So I
- 51:19Speaker 2: got a two damn on a D twenty and a
- 51:23Speaker 2: D feels bad, gang does? I am rolling a D
- 51:28Speaker 2: twelve because it's a difficult check. Actually, because you got
- 51:33Speaker 2: more than half of the people.
- 51:34Speaker 1: I'll roll. This will be challenging, so it'll go down one.
- 51:37Speaker 1: I'll roll a D ten. That's still I like, yikes,
- 51:42Speaker 1: I rolled a ten. I mean I can do to
- 51:46Speaker 1: help here. That's that's the way the dice roll. That's
- 51:50Speaker 1: the way the dice roll. You. You streak up, you
- 51:54Speaker 1: do grab a couple of people. You're the ever wing.
- 51:56Speaker 1: You're fast as hell, you zip up and down, you
- 51:59Speaker 1: grab a couple of people. They have another phase here
- 52:01Speaker 1: before everybody's gonna hit the ground. So there's there's time
- 52:05Speaker 1: again to save more great back to spellbook.
- 52:10Speaker 5: Yeah, so people are just falling towards the ground. I
- 52:15Speaker 5: can annihilate stuff.
- 52:17Speaker 3: Are we in combat order?
- 52:19Speaker 1: Not technically? So yeah, if you if you want to go,
- 52:22Speaker 1: if you got an idea, hmm, every wing, you can
- 52:25Speaker 1: do something again as well.
- 52:26Speaker 3: You could. You could gather up all the ash and
- 52:29Speaker 3: a fluffy, a fluffy pile that you maybe you made
- 52:32Speaker 3: all that.
- 52:33Speaker 5: Ash, that's true, I could I could try and create something.
- 52:37Speaker 5: I'm thinking about annihilation magic as like the delete only button.
- 52:41Speaker 1: Sure. Yeah, yeah. You also have a staff of creation though,
- 52:46Speaker 1: is that what it's called? What's it say? Oh?
- 52:49Speaker 5: It is staff for Creation? Oh right, I didn't even
- 52:51Speaker 5: read that correctly. So then yeah, with the staff, I like,
- 52:55Speaker 5: I like that idea. I'm going to form all of
- 52:57Speaker 5: the ash of the building, going to reform it into
- 53:01Speaker 5: just like a big pillowey blanket, a giant like mesh
- 53:05Speaker 5: net for them.
- 53:06Speaker 1: To be caught in. Challenging Chick Beard plus uh staff
- 53:10Speaker 1: staff nine. I rolled a four. You you mean by five?
- 53:15Speaker 1: You catch the rest of these people in a pillow
- 53:19Speaker 1: of ash?
- 53:21Speaker 3: Excellent?
- 53:22Speaker 1: Thanks for the save there, spellbook. Yeah, I thought I
- 53:25Speaker 1: told you to get the people, but you know, hey,
- 53:27Speaker 1: don't worry about it.
- 53:29Speaker 3: Can we save this sasas for later? No, I start
- 53:33Speaker 3: jumping in direction of the.
- 53:37Speaker 1: Evos. Yeah. Everyone, we'll definitely.
- 53:42Speaker 2: Take off and maybe while when there's a high boying,
- 53:47Speaker 2: I'll just scoop you up. And because I could go sixteen,
- 53:51Speaker 2: l's at it.
- 53:52Speaker 1: Yes, my speed is.
- 53:54Speaker 3: Yeah, it's timed. So bright Blade does a boying and
- 53:57Speaker 3: just Jesus Christ's his arms ready to be.
- 54:02Speaker 2: Scoop underneath both of his arms. We've done this a
- 54:06Speaker 2: million times and start zooming away.
- 54:09Speaker 1: Can I get I know I was just being a dick,
- 54:11Speaker 1: but can I get scooped? Also, I only have walk speed. Shoot,
- 54:17Speaker 1: I don't think.
- 54:20Speaker 3: Well that's also just one okay, so a coordinated effort
- 54:24Speaker 3: was totally done a million times.
- 54:27Speaker 1: Yeah, totally.
- 54:28Speaker 3: I grab, I jump and as I jump.
- 54:32Speaker 7: I wrap my legs around the waist of pelbook and
- 54:36Speaker 7: I'm caring his pelbook up in the air.
- 54:39Speaker 3: Still Jesus Christ my arms top of the parabola. Wait
- 54:42Speaker 3: forever weight to scoop me.
- 54:44Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're carrying that weight, which I think I
- 54:48Speaker 1: would feel. I don't know.
- 54:50Speaker 2: I don't know how the physics works. But I'm also
- 54:54Speaker 2: wearing a power suit like.
- 54:56Speaker 1: I have zero problem with this. I can delete my
- 54:58Speaker 1: own weight. I'll make myself light as I have four
- 55:03Speaker 1: EPs and stray so I think, yeah, I'll carry you two. Oh,
- 55:07Speaker 1: you can carry both of them, then great, and will
- 55:11Speaker 1: sue across the city. I'll admire bright blades quads.
- 55:17Speaker 3: This whole time, Like, my god, there's something to be whold.
- 55:20Speaker 1: You're shiny and new now, you guys pocus quads. We
- 55:29Speaker 1: are zoom with sixteen els per As the ever Wing
- 55:35Speaker 1: rips through the city, dodging a debris, dodging in and
- 55:39Speaker 1: out of the city skyline, you head towards the station
- 55:44Speaker 1: launch pad. As you get close, you get nearer to
- 55:47Speaker 1: the fight. The fight you have it kind of in
- 55:51Speaker 1: your periphery, in the sound waves in the city. It's
- 55:55Speaker 1: going back and forth. The war hero pushes in and
- 55:59Speaker 1: the range forces her back. Carte Blanche zipping around trying
- 56:03Speaker 1: to help where she can, but she is well out classed.
- 56:06Speaker 1: As you get very close to the living units in
- 56:10Speaker 1: the station, a stray blast of spirit magic from the
- 56:15Speaker 1: range that missed the mark streaks towards a group of
- 56:19Speaker 1: pedestrians cowering in a nearby in a nearby bodega, in
- 56:23Speaker 1: coming on it.
- 56:25Speaker 2: I will charge up my ever beam and I'll try
- 56:28Speaker 2: to blast that beam with my beam's going to touch.
- 56:36Speaker 1: While you're doing that beams, a few people that were
- 56:40Speaker 1: left on the top floors of a skyscraper that was
- 56:44Speaker 1: hit by the battle jump out into free fall instead
- 56:48Speaker 1: of putting up with the horror of this of a
- 56:51Speaker 1: nearby collapsing building crashing around them. Who's on that?
- 56:55Speaker 3: I can just release my thighs. Let's spell book drop.
- 56:59Speaker 1: Yeah. You also hear the cries under a nearby pile
- 57:03Speaker 1: of rubble. Help help, it's still moving, it's going to
- 57:07Speaker 1: crush us.
- 57:08Speaker 3: Help. Yeah, I'll head that way. We ever wings grip evering.
- 57:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll definitely immediately let them go once I see
- 57:19Speaker 2: multiple problems.
- 57:20Speaker 1: Awesome Everwing. You're up first. You see this beam of
- 57:25Speaker 1: green energy and energy that you don't understand that you
- 57:29Speaker 1: tried to your whole life, streaking towards a group of
- 57:33Speaker 1: people and you try to blast it out of the sky.
- 57:35Speaker 1: They do roll a hmmm, I would take I would
- 57:43Speaker 1: take ready, that makes sense. I would take a ready check.
- 57:47Speaker 1: I think I would take a glory check here of
- 57:49Speaker 1: all things, just because the way you said that ready
- 57:54Speaker 1: glory and your ever beam with my beam.
- 57:57Speaker 2: My beam is a nice DA and my glory is
- 58:01Speaker 2: a D twelve, so hopefully I won't roll like garbage.
- 58:05Speaker 1: This is a difficult check. I'm rolling a D twelve.
- 58:09Speaker 1: I got eight. I rolled a six. What's this look like? Everwing?
- 58:15Speaker 2: Yeah, so, as Everwing's flying, she just taps the everheart
- 58:21Speaker 2: on her sternum and it briefly glows. Her wings briefly
- 58:25Speaker 2: tuck in as I position myself the perfect.
- 58:29Speaker 1: Angle, and then the beam shoots out.
- 58:32Speaker 2: Kind of pushing me back about ten feet in the
- 58:35Speaker 2: air as my beam just redirects the range's blast to
- 58:40Speaker 2: harmlessly hit the ground. And then once the beam is out,
- 58:45Speaker 2: I kind of barrel roll. My wigs re emerge, and
- 58:49Speaker 2: I keep flying.
- 58:50Speaker 1: The people in the bodega wave at you, thank you,
- 58:53Speaker 1: and head deeper back into the building to try to
- 58:55Speaker 1: get out of this chaos. I salute spellbook. People falling
- 59:00Speaker 1: from the sky.
- 59:01Speaker 5: Spellbook is going to whisper to his staff some words
- 59:07Speaker 5: under his breath, and the staff is going to shoot
- 59:10Speaker 5: out and draw a big circle on the ground underneath them.
- 59:14Speaker 5: Open the book one hand, palm down to the book
- 59:18Speaker 5: one on the ground inside the circle, and I want
- 59:20Speaker 5: to annihilate gravity here a.
- 59:26Speaker 1: Awesome Yeah. I think that's going to be another spirit
- 59:28Speaker 1: check for you, plus whatever magic you're using annihilation. I'm
- 59:33Speaker 1: rolling another difficult check here. It's a D twelve eleven.
- 59:37Speaker 1: I rolled it two.
- 59:38Speaker 5: What happens as people are falling, I twist my hand
- 59:42Speaker 5: on the ground.
- 59:43Speaker 1: And they slow and they slow and they slow until
- 59:47Speaker 1: they just land on their feet spellbook, thank you, thank you,
- 59:52Speaker 1: and they run off trying to get out of here.
- 59:54Speaker 1: You're welcome.
- 59:55Speaker 3: You had to a piece, Yes, a rubble fall from
- 59:58Speaker 3: every wing's arm. Yes, tuck and roll up into a sprint.
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: And as soon as they get there, like analyze the
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: situation and start start removing rocks the safest I can.
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: So not just like willy nilly, but like this one
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: won't cause this one to shift. That kind of thing,
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: like quickly analyzing the situation and then just like pulling
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: rocks out of the pile.
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: Awesome, my plus strength another difficult check here, help us,
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: please help.
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: I rolled N eight to seven fifteen.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: I rolled a six. You succeed wildly. The people crawl
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: out as the bright blade lifts the final rock above
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: his head. Right blade, Thank you, thank you, get to safety.
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: The ever wing has streaked off towards the station. You
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: guys are almost there. You two begin to follow before
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: you can spell book. You hear a voice you know well.
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: It's your brother there, Arthur Wright Ryan. Brian, stop, don't
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: do this, Arthur. I told you not to be here.
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: We need you. Mom needs you, little little Mia needs you.
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: The city needs me. Please, Brian, please. I look towards
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: the station and back at Arthur. Come on, spell Book.
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: I turned my back on my compatriots. How old is
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: Arthur here? Young? A young man, twenty something. I run
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: up to him. Show me. I've been practicing, but I'm
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: not show me. I hand him the staff. You hand
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: him the staff. He grabs a rock, lifts it up
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: with the staff, says a few words that you've taught him,
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: and he sinks the rock into the ground, beyond reach
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: of the physical world. It's good, Arthur, I've got a
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: duty to uphold here. You take this, keep it, save
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: the family what you can. I'm counting on you, Ryan.
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: I put my hand on his shoulder. You're always a
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: crap magician, he smiles.
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: Yeah, spell book, they need us.
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: Go, just go, But hey, come back, damn you come back?
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: Who will I promise? Everwing you get there first, you
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: feel the battle above you. The war hero you all
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: know this. You don't know them super well. But the
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: war hero is a much stronger hero. A woman who,
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: unbeknownst to her, is filled with a cocktail of the
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: world's most powerful evos. She keeps getting close to the
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: refugee evos and then is pulled away by the range,
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: a spirit guide of the land who will just not
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: give up. But she's looking beat she's looking tired. Everywing
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: you finally get to the place where the evos are hiding,
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: you know it because there are masked un agents trying
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: to beat down the doors of a living unit in
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: the station. They are armed with EVO neutralizing guns and shields.
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: They are working in hunger and desperation, trying to get
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: these damn evos off world. What do you do?
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: I'm gonna I'm gonna tap my I'm gonna land steal myself,
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: tap my chest. Just hit these guys with an with
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: an ever beam. Awesome, roll your attack.
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: Okay, ooh that is hold on, let me see if
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: I add anything to that that is a that is
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: a seven. Oh geez. These are two D eight mobs.
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: By the way, they are not gonna defend this because
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: they're not focused on you. They don't know you're behind them.
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: You rip your beam into them. They they're resilience. Their
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: armor and stuff does take two of that damage away,
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: but you do five damage immediately knocking one of these
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: to a D a D four mole.
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: Okay, and I'm gonna burn by EPs. I'm gonna burned
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: three EPs to a cause paralysis for three phases on
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: that mob. As they're blasted by the ever beam, it
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: says target is restrained for three phases. Restrained creatures cannot
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: take actions.
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: One of these mobs. You blast the everbeam into a
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: bunch of them. They are down. You can kill them
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: or not, that's up to you ever winging. They're down.
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: The rest of that whole mob is frozen in the
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: energy of the ever beam. Nice it is the other
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: mob's turn. Main mob doesn't get a turn, or the
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: mob you just hit doesn't get a turn. The other
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: mob turns around. It's the Everwing. She's turned against us.
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: Light her up. They start shooting at you. Seven damn
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: come in your way, Everywing.
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: Okay, uh, I'll use a reaction to try to dodge
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: this great power die.
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: Of my speed power, yes, or of any movement power yes.
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: So that's a bit. Okay, so I get to roll
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: my flight power die. I got a three. Great so
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: three of this incoming fire damage you shot, take to
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: the sky doing flips, your wings, pop out clothes, spinning, flipping,
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: and then roll your resilience as well. Okay, so I
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: do my resilience. Oh five, so I have that to six?
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: Excuse me? To three? I was like, yes, so you
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: only take you only take one one damage. That feels good.
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: We'll go back to the top of the round. Bright Blade.
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: You show up in this phase.
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: Are we So we're in combat now?
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: Yes? Okay, you see Everwing engaged with these un agents.
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: I jump in to the middle of this mob, run
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: my bladed arm across my non bladed double boy and
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: start going after guys.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: Awesome, are you going for the group that is paralyzed
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: or the other group. Other group, other group, go ahead,
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: roll four. Oh wait, I roll with Precision five Bright Blade.
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: It's the Bright Blade. They can't react either, just because
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: they weren't expecting you to jump in.
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: I would also like to add a power attribute my
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: disarming strike. Yeah, so as I'm slicing through these guys
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: taken down their anti EVO guns.
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: Nice, they rolled two on their resilience, so you do
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: four damage to them, so they are immediately made a
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: D four mob as well.
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: It says disarm a single item, but I assume that
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: just means i'd remove all of.
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: Yeah, if it's a mob, you are slicing through their
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: guns as you're doing damage to their arms and hands
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: and knocking them out. The bright Blade is among them,
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: putting in work. Everwing your turn again?
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: All right, I burned my reaction. But this group that
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: is stunned, I'm just gonna jump in with with my
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: claws and I'm going to spend an ep there to
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: just slash them, trying to disarm them.
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: As I'm slashing, they cannot defend against you as they're stunned,
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: and you close the distance and start clawing, roll your damage.
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: Okay, I get to roll this with precision, great, and
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: so I get five damage here.
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: Everwing you take out the rest of the squad, squad
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: is gone. The final few guys here have no guns
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: left because you've taken them away, and they start just
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: trying to punch at you. Guys. So a very little
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: bit amount of damage coming to you. Bright Blade two damage, right,
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: I reseal for all of it, spellbook. You walk in,
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: only a few people left. You see the downed un
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: agents that your friends have put down. What are you doing?
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: I see the chaos around. I've given away my only
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: means of attacking with magic, and I just look up
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: the gods clashing above us. Then you hear a great
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: crack and you look up and you see two things
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: as you focus on that battle Carte Blanche. First, her
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: fire gone out, streaking like a meteor, towards a nearby
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: warehouse that she smashes into. And then you see the
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: range the loose and now broken neck of war hero
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: in her hands. She moans to the sky and they
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: both begin to fall, too far away for you to
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: do anything. It's over, but you can follow Carte blanche
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: trajectory try to help her.
- 1:10:27Speaker 5: A sigh of relief. Okay, damage control, and I just
- 1:10:33Speaker 5: start hoofing it on foot book under my arm towards
- 1:10:37Speaker 5: towards where carte Blanche fell.
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: You guys are able to finish up this mob. As
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: Spellbook runs off to get carte Blanche, You're glad that
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: somebody's going to get her. Very good. You follow carte
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: Blanche's trajectory. She smashed through the roof of a warehouse,
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: and then as you arrive there, you see that she
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: then smashed through the floor into a basement level what
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: they used to be. Okay, you get to the hole
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: that she made, and then you see it. Hundreds of bombs,
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: bombs of life. This must be their stash house, waiting
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: to be launched into space. A single bomb is meant
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: to have a violent and extreme and swift impact on
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: the ecosystem of an entire planet, terraforming it for the
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: sustainability of human life. There's no telling the impact of
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: a few hundred of them going off all at once
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: on a populated planet. Likely it would mean the end
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: of the human race on Earth. Well, it's good thing
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: they're not active. The impact, oh fuck, that carte Blanche made,
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: and the energy that fuels. Her power dispersed, and she
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: ignited the detonation sequence of most of the bombs of
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: life in this chamber. She smiles at you, broken in
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: the ground. I did it. I gave the range an opening,
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: and she perishes. I'm sorry, Arthur Spellbuck. The voice in
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: your book that you've talked to only a couple of
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: times speaks up. I could probably do it, get rid
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: of them. You would need so much energy, cancels out. Well,
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: I don't know if that's the main problem. I just
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: can't do it from in here. No. Now, we've talked
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: about this. You stay. You stay in the book. I know,
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: I know, because if I leave my post, then all
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: annihilation will reach through this book and eat your whole world.
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: I get it. I keep it at bay. That was
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: the deal. But if you want me to get rid
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: of these, we have to switch places. All devour the bombs.
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: You take my place of punishment. Fine, have a deal.
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: Put my palm on the book, close my eyes, and
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: say the words unbinding the spirit of annihilation and binding
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: myself to the tomb. The two of you, along with
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: a young Arthur Wright, pop your heads in as the
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: spell begins.
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: Spell Book, what are you doing.
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: Brian, Brian, it's over. You can come home now, Brian,
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: Please coustaachd scol in dull. The wind begins to swirl,
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: pulling energy builds and pouring out of the book comes
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: a great demon dog of shadow and red lightning shine.
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: At the same time, spell book begins to become transparent,
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: and you can see his soul and his body being
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: sucked into the book. The dog then makes itself enormous
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: and lays on the igniting bombs of life, as though
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: it were laying on puppies of light to keep them warm.
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: In a flash, the bombs of life, the great shadow Dog,
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: and spell book are gone, though all that is left
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: is a bone, white book and a cloak. Put my
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: arm around Arthur, He runs up to the book. No,
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: be careful, Brian. There had to be another way.
- 1:15:58Speaker 3: No, no, no, no.
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: Everyone tags her head and gives him a moment to grief.
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: Time unfreezes and you're back in the pen dragon library
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: that burns around you. Oh shit, I knew you'd come
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: crawling out of the woodwork if we set fire to
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: your home. Now I get to kill you myself. I'll
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: do it with my hands. Paper Ghost Arthur, then, in
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: his very last act of life, reaches up and touches
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: the book that is in Jason's chest. Jason falls and
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: lays still next to his mentor and father as though
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: dead with him, and Arthur whispers, let me show you
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: that magic I've been working on. The Irish begin to
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: move in. Jason is incapacitated because the paper Phantom must
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: deal with an intruder, and Arthur arrives in the plane
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: of the book. Inside Jason Brian Wright hanging as though
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: on a cross in the space between the realm of
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: Annihilation and the realm of the living. He keeps the
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: roaring torrent of the void at bay in the book.
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: It sucks out his life and empowers him. Arthur says,
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: I've come to take your place, brother, so you can
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: finally go rest in whatever comes after this. But Brian
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: likes the power, likes his new vessel. He has been
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: corrupted by decades of close contact with Annihilation. He does
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: not want to give up what he has won. He
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: wants to continue to devour through Jason and the Phantom.
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: What does Brian say to his brother, You shouldn't have
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: come here. You'll die in this book.
- 1:18:27Speaker 4: Very well, then, Jason's life is too important to me
- 1:18:33Speaker 4: to let you keep running things. If you won't let
- 1:18:37Speaker 4: me replace you, I will depose you.
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: Arthur calls to himself. In this realm of paper, the
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: power of the imaginative mind, the fiery word, and the
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: cutting pen, A sizzling staff, and a sword with a
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: screaming edge form in his respective hands. A yellowing and
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: deckled cloak sways behind him, and a pointed hat with
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: a paper brim rests on his head. In the realm
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: of the living, he is an old, kindly librarian whose
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: eyes are always welling with tears. Here he is Arthur
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: the Writer, the paper Wizard, and he readies himself to
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: do battle with his long lost brother. And that's where
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: we'll end this session of the Team Up Play Show Podcast. Arthur, Arthur,
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: the Paper wizarded wizards, magic, the past, the present, the future,
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: the drag undumb, the dragons. Okay, so much to talk about.
