Oscar. 13 00:00:44,160 --> 00:00:46,040 Nobody's ever been ready for Oscar. 14 00:00:46,040 --> 00:00:49,400 But I will say this, yesterday we went out to eat 15 00:00:49,400 --> 00:00:52,160 and I was so ready for a Chinese buffet. 16 00:00:52,160 --> 00:00:54,160 I will demolish it. 17 00:00:54,160 --> 00:00:56,520 I'm all ready for a Chinese buffet. 18 00:00:56,520 --> 00:00:58,120 So if you know a good one, 19 00:00:58,120 --> 00:01:00,280 what I mean is your area, let me know. 20 00:01:00,280 --> 00:01:02,200 But yeah, other than that, no. 21 00:01:02,200 --> 00:01:04,840 Nobody is ever ready for Oscar. 22 00:01:04,840 --> 00:01:07,520 See, I wish I knew that because the last time Dr. Trey was in my area, 23 00:01:07,520 --> 00:01:09,280 we went to a pizza joint, 24 00:01:09,280 --> 00:01:12,640 which I think may have been the last time I saw you in person. 25 00:01:12,640 --> 00:01:13,560 Yeah. 26 00:01:13,560 --> 00:01:15,280 Outside of these... 27 00:01:15,280 --> 00:01:16,120 Oh! 28 00:01:16,120 --> 00:01:17,760 Outside of Tampa Bay? 29 00:01:17,760 --> 00:01:20,200 I see, I don't know which one was the last one. 30 00:01:20,200 --> 00:01:22,480 I don't know if it was the Tropicana, 31 00:01:22,480 --> 00:01:24,800 or if it was... 32 00:01:24,800 --> 00:01:26,560 If it was when we had pizza... 33 00:01:26,560 --> 00:01:27,560 No, the pizza... 34 00:01:27,560 --> 00:01:30,240 You know, that you're right, the pizza place was after Tropicana. 35 00:01:30,240 --> 00:01:31,240 That's right. 36 00:01:31,240 --> 00:01:32,240 It was... 37 00:01:32,240 --> 00:01:36,480 Because I think we've only met face to face four times in 15 years? 38 00:01:36,480 --> 00:01:40,160 Yeah, it was a studio podcast with Bauer, 39 00:01:40,160 --> 00:01:43,360 which is the only time you and I have ever done a podcast together 40 00:01:43,360 --> 00:01:45,280 in the same place. 41 00:01:45,280 --> 00:01:50,160 You came up to a radio event that we had around... 42 00:01:50,160 --> 00:01:53,440 We thought the 40-man rumble when it was in Boston. 43 00:01:53,440 --> 00:01:56,040 I think that maybe in 11 or 12. 44 00:01:56,040 --> 00:01:58,040 The Raisin Yankees game, 45 00:01:58,040 --> 00:02:01,040 and then you were in my neck of the woods, 46 00:02:01,040 --> 00:02:03,960 I mean, it was way before the pandemic now, 47 00:02:03,960 --> 00:02:04,960 and we grabbed pizza. 48 00:02:04,960 --> 00:02:06,960 And now it's as if you don't travel anymore. 49 00:02:06,960 --> 00:02:08,480 Yeah, I don't get to see it. 50 00:02:08,480 --> 00:02:10,720 Unless I go down to Birmingham, Alabama for, 51 00:02:10,720 --> 00:02:12,640 I don't know, WWE RAW, 52 00:02:12,640 --> 00:02:16,040 taping that's going to cost me like $350. 53 00:02:16,040 --> 00:02:18,560 Which is actually coming in a few months. 54 00:02:18,560 --> 00:02:20,400 We're actually getting RAW in Birmingham in a few months. 55 00:02:20,400 --> 00:02:21,240 I saw that. 56 00:02:21,240 --> 00:02:22,400 You want to make a road trip. 57 00:02:22,400 --> 00:02:23,400 You want to make a road trip? 58 00:02:23,400 --> 00:02:25,680 I got a five bedroom house now, so I got room for you. 59 00:02:25,680 --> 00:02:26,680 Stay tuned. 60 00:02:26,680 --> 00:02:27,680 Stay tuned. 61 00:02:27,680 --> 00:02:29,480 Yeah, or, hey, you never know. 62 00:02:29,480 --> 00:02:31,680 I may get a job where I'm back on the road traveling. 63 00:02:31,680 --> 00:02:32,680 This is true. 64 00:02:32,680 --> 00:02:33,680 This is true. 65 00:02:33,680 --> 00:02:34,680 That's when I, the last time I saw that train 66 00:02:34,680 --> 00:02:36,680 was when he was on the road again. 67 00:02:36,680 --> 00:02:39,480 First dog foremost, happy birthday to our very own doctor 68 00:02:39,480 --> 00:02:41,080 tray who celebrated yesterday. 69 00:02:41,080 --> 00:02:42,480 28 years old. 70 00:02:42,480 --> 00:02:43,480 Amazing. 71 00:02:43,480 --> 00:02:44,480 Amazing. 72 00:02:44,480 --> 00:02:49,480 Yeah, I will say, I actually, I don't know if it got 73 00:02:49,480 --> 00:02:50,880 on my regular Facebook page. 74 00:02:50,880 --> 00:02:53,680 My brother posted a picture of me 75 00:02:53,680 --> 00:02:56,680 from when I was in my early 20s. 76 00:02:56,680 --> 00:03:00,280 One of my friends said outside of the gray in your beard, 77 00:03:00,280 --> 00:03:03,680 you actually look younger now than you did in this picture. 78 00:03:03,680 --> 00:03:05,680 So I took that as a compliment. 79 00:03:05,680 --> 00:03:07,680 I was like, he's like, you look like you're in better shape. 80 00:03:07,680 --> 00:03:11,280 You're healthy or other than the gray in your beard, man. 81 00:03:11,280 --> 00:03:13,080 You go, you look like you're way better shaped. 82 00:03:13,080 --> 00:03:14,680 So I was like, oh, cool. 83 00:03:14,680 --> 00:03:17,480 That just means at this age, I don't look like I'm dying. 84 00:03:17,480 --> 00:03:19,280 So that's always a win. 85 00:03:19,280 --> 00:03:20,280 Yes. 86 00:03:20,280 --> 00:03:23,280 Another year around the sun and people complimenting me. 87 00:03:23,280 --> 00:03:24,680 And I don't look like I'm dead. 88 00:03:24,680 --> 00:03:26,280 So that's great. 89 00:03:26,280 --> 00:03:29,080 Yeah, happy birthday is all around the doctor tray. 90 00:03:29,080 --> 00:03:29,880 How'd you celebrate? 91 00:03:29,880 --> 00:03:31,480 Did you end up going to that Chinese buffet that you have 92 00:03:31,480 --> 00:03:33,280 craving for now? 93 00:03:33,280 --> 00:03:35,480 No, actually, so I was a little bit. 94 00:03:35,480 --> 00:03:39,080 So actually, and yeah, I actually kind of did. 95 00:03:39,080 --> 00:03:40,680 I started out my day really sad. 96 00:03:40,680 --> 00:03:41,280 I woke up. 97 00:03:41,280 --> 00:03:45,280 Nobody in the house said, happy birthday before I left to take 98 00:03:45,280 --> 00:03:47,280 Sammy to school and go to work. 99 00:03:47,280 --> 00:03:49,780 So I thought people kind of forgot. 100 00:03:49,780 --> 00:03:51,760 Then my wife texted me and she's like, hey, what do you 101 00:03:51,760 --> 00:03:52,280 want for dinner? 102 00:03:52,280 --> 00:03:53,880 I don't really care. 103 00:03:53,880 --> 00:03:56,380 I mean, I'm in a kind of a funk. 104 00:03:56,380 --> 00:04:01,580 By the time I got home, she went and got Sammy early from school. 105 00:04:01,580 --> 00:04:03,280 They went down the store, bought me. 106 00:04:03,280 --> 00:04:05,520 She already had gotten me my birthday presents, but she took 107 00:04:05,520 --> 00:04:07,880 Sammy birthday shopping for dad. 108 00:04:07,880 --> 00:04:08,480 Came home. 109 00:04:08,480 --> 00:04:09,280 There's balloons. 110 00:04:09,280 --> 00:04:10,580 There's presents. 111 00:04:10,580 --> 00:04:15,280 And then we went out and had a Japanese abochie for dinner. 112 00:04:15,280 --> 00:04:15,580 Yeah. 113 00:04:15,580 --> 00:04:19,560 So which is always fun because as Luke gets a little bit 114 00:04:19,560 --> 00:04:23,520 older, the look on kids' faces when they light the grill up 115 00:04:23,520 --> 00:04:25,600 and the big fire shoots up everywhere. 116 00:04:25,600 --> 00:04:26,560 Kids love that. 117 00:04:26,560 --> 00:04:29,160 So Sammy had a great time. 118 00:04:29,160 --> 00:04:31,360 It ended up being actually a really good birthday. 119 00:04:31,360 --> 00:04:32,600 So I will say that. 120 00:04:32,600 --> 00:04:38,920 I think-- so I've taken my son to a abochie in Disney. 121 00:04:38,920 --> 00:04:40,280 I think he's gone twice now. 122 00:04:40,280 --> 00:04:40,880 And he loved it. 123 00:04:40,880 --> 00:04:43,060 I mean, where else could you see fire, chew, chew, 124 00:04:43,060 --> 00:04:47,600 trains, and then they're doing Mickey Mouse on the metal 125 00:04:47,600 --> 00:04:49,240 platform that they cook on? 126 00:04:49,240 --> 00:04:50,640 Abochie's one of my favorites. 127 00:04:50,640 --> 00:04:53,880 But I guess we'll save that for Abochie cast. 128 00:04:53,880 --> 00:04:54,960 When Dr. Try and I do that. 129 00:04:54,960 --> 00:04:57,720 We've met-- by the way, that's a first. 130 00:04:57,720 --> 00:04:59,280 And in all the years of us in the show, 131 00:04:59,280 --> 00:05:01,400 we have never mentioned Abochie cast. 132 00:05:01,400 --> 00:05:03,800 No, I think that's-- yeah, it's usually weather casts. 133 00:05:03,800 --> 00:05:05,840 Get off my grass cast. 134 00:05:05,840 --> 00:05:07,480 Get off my cloud cast. 135 00:05:07,480 --> 00:05:09,200 But here we are 848 episodes. 136 00:05:09,200 --> 00:05:11,400 And if you had on your bingo card, 137 00:05:11,400 --> 00:05:12,480 us talking about Abochie. 138 00:05:12,480 --> 00:05:14,560 Congratulations, you have won. 139 00:05:14,560 --> 00:05:16,480 See us after the show. 140 00:05:16,480 --> 00:05:17,960 Dr. Try, let's get into it. 141 00:05:17,960 --> 00:05:20,520 WWE Backlash recapped a review of this past Saturday 142 00:05:20,520 --> 00:05:24,400 from the benchmark international arena in Tampa, Florida. 143 00:05:24,400 --> 00:05:26,840 We'll start with the opener here that aired on ESPN2. 144 00:05:26,840 --> 00:05:28,720 It was Braun Breaker defeating Seth Rollins. 145 00:05:28,720 --> 00:05:32,600 You and I both had Braun Breaker in this one. 146 00:05:32,600 --> 00:05:35,480 Arguably, one of Braun Breaker's biggest 147 00:05:35,480 --> 00:05:37,480 wins of his career. 148 00:05:37,480 --> 00:05:40,760 While that was a big deal, it wasn't the story in this one. 149 00:05:40,760 --> 00:05:44,520 But that Braun proved that he can hang with Rollins on the ring. 150 00:05:44,520 --> 00:05:47,840 It was a great in-ring performance from Breaker. 151 00:05:47,840 --> 00:05:50,760 It feels like that there are a couple folks 152 00:05:50,760 --> 00:05:53,120 that are breaking away from the pack, 153 00:05:53,120 --> 00:05:59,040 where if a year or two years from now, if 3, 4, 5 on the male side, 154 00:05:59,040 --> 00:06:01,520 our world champions are in the world title picture, 155 00:06:01,520 --> 00:06:03,000 it would not surprise me. 156 00:06:03,000 --> 00:06:04,640 And Braun Breaker is one of them. 157 00:06:04,640 --> 00:06:09,120 We'll talk about this group that I think is kind of percolating. 158 00:06:09,120 --> 00:06:12,120 It reminds me of that WrestleMania 21 season 159 00:06:12,120 --> 00:06:15,360 when we saw Cena, Batista, and Randy Orton all break out. 160 00:06:15,360 --> 00:06:17,080 We'll talk about that later on in the show 161 00:06:17,080 --> 00:06:22,280 and who we think may be falling into that category. 162 00:06:22,280 --> 00:06:25,640 But overall, arguably the biggest win of his career. 163 00:06:25,640 --> 00:06:27,280 But to me, the biggest takeaway, Dr. Trey, 164 00:06:27,280 --> 00:06:30,000 was that Braun Breaker proved he could hang in the ring with Seth Rollins. 165 00:06:30,000 --> 00:06:34,440 Your thoughts as Braun Breaker defeats the visionary, Seth Rollins. 166 00:06:34,440 --> 00:06:38,000 And I kind of felt like that was the point of this match. 167 00:06:38,000 --> 00:06:40,080 We kind of knew there would be distractions, 168 00:06:40,080 --> 00:06:44,880 there would be shenanigans because you have the vision of all sets on his own. 169 00:06:44,880 --> 00:06:46,920 So you kind of felt like that stuff would happen. 170 00:06:46,920 --> 00:06:49,720 So if it wasn't a clean victory, it made sense. 171 00:06:49,720 --> 00:06:54,440 But I thought they really want to showcase that Braun could actually wrestle and 172 00:06:54,440 --> 00:07:02,600 hang with Seth Rollins who arguably maybe up and maybe until this match was qualified 173 00:07:02,600 --> 00:07:05,360 as one of the top five in-ring performers in the world. 174 00:07:05,360 --> 00:07:12,960 But I thought that was the, and I think you brought it up from WrestleMania, 175 00:07:12,960 --> 00:07:17,320 that last spear that Seth kind of o'laid a little bit. 176 00:07:17,320 --> 00:07:21,360 Braun wanted to make sure that when he hit the spear in this match, he hit the spear in this match. 177 00:07:21,360 --> 00:07:26,000 So overall, really, really good performance for Braun Breaker, 178 00:07:26,000 --> 00:07:28,680 kind of setting the table for what's going forward. 179 00:07:28,680 --> 00:07:30,880 But yeah, overall, I thought it was a solid match. 180 00:07:30,880 --> 00:07:35,720 I thought that the hiccups were actually on sets parts and not Braun's. 181 00:07:35,720 --> 00:07:39,240 But overall, like really, really outstanding kind of breakout performance. 182 00:07:39,240 --> 00:07:42,520 And like you said, arguably the biggest win of Breaker's career. 183 00:07:42,520 --> 00:07:47,800 Next match here is Trick Williams defeating Sammy Zane to retain the WWE United States Championship. 184 00:07:47,800 --> 00:07:50,240 We both had Trick Williams in this one. 185 00:07:50,240 --> 00:07:55,160 Again, Trick Williams' in-ring work has really come a long way since his NXT days. 186 00:07:55,160 --> 00:07:58,440 We often would complain about Trick Williams. 187 00:07:58,440 --> 00:08:02,680 I was someone that always was like, he's great entertainer, great on the mic, great character, 188 00:08:02,680 --> 00:08:03,960 amazing charisma. 189 00:08:03,960 --> 00:08:05,520 It's just the in-ring stuff. 190 00:08:05,520 --> 00:08:10,240 And it's slowly fading away where I'm not really picking up on. 191 00:08:10,240 --> 00:08:14,080 And then, you know, you could tell he's lagging a little bit behind, 192 00:08:14,080 --> 00:08:17,080 not a smooth of his in-ring performer, like he's in there. 193 00:08:17,080 --> 00:08:19,680 And he's in there with one of the best in Sammy Zane. 194 00:08:19,680 --> 00:08:24,080 As he held his own once again, the Trick and Sammy Feud has been really good at entertaining. 195 00:08:24,080 --> 00:08:28,320 And I've also thought that Little Yachty, who has done a really good job as Trick's manager, 196 00:08:28,320 --> 00:08:30,120 has been extremely entertaining as well. 197 00:08:30,120 --> 00:08:34,280 Like, he, out of all the celebrities I've seen in recent months, 198 00:08:34,280 --> 00:08:39,720 he's one that I feel like can legitimately be a manager in WWE, 199 00:08:39,720 --> 00:08:41,960 and professional wrestling as a whole for a long time. 200 00:08:41,960 --> 00:08:46,440 I can't tell you one Little Yachty song, but as a character, really enjoying it. 201 00:08:46,440 --> 00:08:50,720 Trick Williams defeats Sammy Zane to retain the WWE United States Championship. 202 00:08:50,720 --> 00:08:59,680 >> So good Little Yachty, if Fred Oppen came back as tugboats with Little Yachty and tugboat being natural. 203 00:08:59,680 --> 00:09:02,240 Cuz this isn't just a little Yacht, a tugboat. 204 00:09:02,240 --> 00:09:03,520 I don't know boats. 205 00:09:03,520 --> 00:09:05,920 >> Yeah, I guess he could fall into Natural Disasters. 206 00:09:05,920 --> 00:09:08,360 Like, it could be an offshoot of Natural Disasters. 207 00:09:08,360 --> 00:09:12,480 You've got to tell the boat earthquake Typhoon and Little Yachty. 208 00:09:12,480 --> 00:09:17,400 >> But I just, like, I enjoyed the match. 209 00:09:17,400 --> 00:09:19,800 It was a little bit shorter than I was hoping for, but I will say, 210 00:09:19,800 --> 00:09:26,080 Trick, even though I know this is a kind of, they're still in the midst of this double turn, 211 00:09:26,080 --> 00:09:28,360 I guess is a way of kind of putting it. 212 00:09:28,360 --> 00:09:32,520 Like, Trick is actually with the trick shot as his finisher. 213 00:09:32,520 --> 00:09:36,560 He's better positioned as a baby face than as a heel. 214 00:09:36,560 --> 00:09:40,840 Because as a baby face, you can kind of take the ass kicking and 215 00:09:40,840 --> 00:09:44,160 then come out of nowhere with the trick shot. 216 00:09:44,160 --> 00:09:45,560 And it's a little more believable. 217 00:09:45,560 --> 00:09:48,240 It's kind of like having a knockout punch in a sense. 218 00:09:48,240 --> 00:09:51,080 But as a heel and you got control of tempo, so 219 00:09:51,080 --> 00:09:53,280 then hit a trick shot out of nowhere I don't like. 220 00:09:53,280 --> 00:09:55,520 So, and I think WWE's been very smart also. 221 00:09:55,520 --> 00:10:00,440 Like, they're putting him in the ring with guys they know can work. 222 00:10:00,440 --> 00:10:05,200 You know, he's not in there with the big lumbering giants who, 223 00:10:05,200 --> 00:10:07,960 the internet fans kind of knock for poor work right. 224 00:10:07,960 --> 00:10:15,200 Like, he's in there with, you know, some top notch in ring performers that can kind of carry him a little bit if needed. 225 00:10:15,200 --> 00:10:18,000 But he has come a long way. 226 00:10:18,000 --> 00:10:22,000 He is arguably the most entertaining person in WWE right now. 227 00:10:22,000 --> 00:10:28,400 Maybe him and Dan Housen can go back and forth with who's the, who do I like seeing on my TV the most. 228 00:10:28,400 --> 00:10:30,200 But yeah, it's overall really fun. 229 00:10:30,200 --> 00:10:33,440 And then maybe is little Yachty their answer to Prince Nana. 230 00:10:34,400 --> 00:10:36,800 Maybe, maybe I guess. 231 00:10:36,800 --> 00:10:39,080 Yeah, instead of coffee, it's hip hop. 232 00:10:39,080 --> 00:10:40,240 It's actually hip hop career. 233 00:10:40,240 --> 00:10:41,960 Yeah. There you go. 234 00:10:41,960 --> 00:10:45,000 And then a little Yachty can like a little Yachty dances and he throws, 235 00:10:45,000 --> 00:10:48,840 apparently throws legitimate money into the crowd. 236 00:10:48,840 --> 00:10:50,360 I saw I saw they were long. 237 00:10:50,360 --> 00:10:51,520 I saw some picture. 238 00:10:51,520 --> 00:10:52,240 Yeah. 239 00:10:52,240 --> 00:10:55,320 But I saw Chris Van Vleek got one of them is like, this is a real dollar bill. 240 00:10:55,320 --> 00:10:59,600 And I'm like, so he just treats the audience like they're all strippers and just gives them all one. 241 00:10:59,600 --> 00:11:00,760 Something out. 242 00:11:00,760 --> 00:11:01,720 I don't know. 243 00:11:01,720 --> 00:11:04,520 It's a nice take home is an actual dollar bill. 244 00:11:04,520 --> 00:11:10,920 I mean, you spend $600 or $6,000 to send the first couple rows and you leave with the $1 bill. 245 00:11:10,920 --> 00:11:12,920 There's certainly a joke in there somewhere. 246 00:11:12,920 --> 00:11:15,920 I mean, at least it's not Young Box money. 247 00:11:15,920 --> 00:11:16,520 True, true. 248 00:11:16,520 --> 00:11:18,520 It's just fake paper with their faces on it. 249 00:11:18,520 --> 00:11:19,320 Yeah. 250 00:11:19,320 --> 00:11:20,920 I mean, yeah, there's the formula here right now. 251 00:11:20,920 --> 00:11:25,320 And we saw with Braun Breaker who's a little bit more season than Trek, right former NXT champion. 252 00:11:25,320 --> 00:11:27,720 Prior to Trick Williams holding, having the run with the title. 253 00:11:27,720 --> 00:11:29,920 He's in the ring with Seth Rollins. 254 00:11:29,920 --> 00:11:31,840 Trick Williams, former NXT champion. 255 00:11:31,840 --> 00:11:33,520 He's in the ring with Sami Zayn. 256 00:11:33,520 --> 00:11:37,800 I think even later in the night, you have then Jacob Fatu in the ring with Roman Reigns. 257 00:11:37,800 --> 00:11:45,120 So there's this formula of putting some of the young guns or folks that could be carrying the torch of the WWE in the next five to 10 years. 258 00:11:45,120 --> 00:11:51,920 For the next five to 10 years with some of the guys who have been really holding it down for some time in Reigns, Rollins and Sami Zayn. 259 00:11:51,920 --> 00:11:55,640 And testing them on these pay per views coming out of WrestleMania like we saw here back last. 260 00:11:55,640 --> 00:12:02,520 So Trick Williams retained against Sami Zayn in a very solid match and a solid performance from the current United States champion. 261 00:12:02,520 --> 00:12:08,760 Next match here is Dan Housen and Mini Housen defeating the Miz and Kit Wilson. 262 00:12:08,760 --> 00:12:12,680 Dr. Trey and I both had a team Dan Housen in this one. 263 00:12:12,680 --> 00:12:14,440 This was just an entertaining comedy match. 264 00:12:14,440 --> 00:12:17,200 This is what you expect from match with Dan Housen in it. 265 00:12:17,200 --> 00:12:19,480 We've said it forever, but Miz is an all star. 266 00:12:19,480 --> 00:12:28,440 And if you're somebody who is in love with AW matches, which I have an appetite for that as well, you probably absolutely hated this match. 267 00:12:28,440 --> 00:12:29,440 But it was what it was. 268 00:12:29,440 --> 00:12:30,280 It was entertaining. 269 00:12:30,280 --> 00:12:36,400 It helped kind of break up the show in a good kind of way because we had really two good solid openers. 270 00:12:36,400 --> 00:12:40,400 And then the rest of the show, which we'll cover here momentarily, was really good as well. 271 00:12:40,400 --> 00:12:47,840 I thought this was a good breakup to kind of get people out of that stretch of really good in-ring performances on the WWE side and 272 00:12:47,840 --> 00:12:49,440 putting something entertaining like this. 273 00:12:49,440 --> 00:12:54,560 So it passed the time in a good way and I enjoyed it, Dr. Trey, for what it was. 274 00:12:54,560 --> 00:12:58,240 I could tell, I don't know if your son is watching these shows with you. 275 00:12:58,240 --> 00:12:59,320 Obviously mine is not. 276 00:12:59,320 --> 00:13:01,360 He's in bed by the time this match happened. 277 00:13:01,360 --> 00:13:06,120 But this is something that in two, three years, I think he would sit down and would absolutely love Dan Housen. 278 00:13:06,120 --> 00:13:07,840 Like this match would be all about it. 279 00:13:07,840 --> 00:13:09,480 And that's okay folks. 280 00:13:09,480 --> 00:13:15,200 It's okay to have a family-friendly match on a card, especially on a show that was pretty damn solid. 281 00:13:15,200 --> 00:13:17,280 Your thoughts is Dan Housen and Minnie Housen won. 282 00:13:17,280 --> 00:13:19,760 >> Yeah, it was fun. 283 00:13:19,760 --> 00:13:24,400 And we look for, I mean, you look for, I mean, Kit Wilson, fun character. 284 00:13:24,400 --> 00:13:32,840 Dan Housen, fun character, Miz, like you said, all star, all time grades, super soldier, whatever you want to phrase it. 285 00:13:32,840 --> 00:13:37,920 And then not only getting a Minnie downhousen, but the former El Torito. 286 00:13:37,920 --> 00:13:47,320 And we saw him in AAA a few months ago, an actual legitimate Minnie wrestler out there performing. 287 00:13:47,320 --> 00:13:51,560 It was used to working with bigger guys, was actually a really good call. 288 00:13:51,560 --> 00:13:53,480 So it was fun, it was entertaining. 289 00:13:53,480 --> 00:13:56,120 You got all the Dan Housen coming out later. 290 00:13:56,120 --> 00:14:01,800 Not gonna lie, when the cloning thing first came out, I was kind of hoping for jelly roll in Dan Housen paint. 291 00:14:01,800 --> 00:14:05,560 And having me jelly Housen, but we didn't get that, we got Minnie Housen. 292 00:14:05,560 --> 00:14:08,280 So overall, it was just fun and silly. 293 00:14:08,280 --> 00:14:16,040 And we all have these guys throughout the course of wrestling history where you're like, can I take him seriously as a world champion contender? 294 00:14:16,040 --> 00:14:17,160 Probably not. 295 00:14:17,160 --> 00:14:18,880 But is he fun? 296 00:14:18,880 --> 00:14:20,800 Go back to like the boogie man. 297 00:14:20,800 --> 00:14:25,600 I never thought boogie man would be a world champion, but the warm stuff, all that stuff was fun. 298 00:14:25,600 --> 00:14:30,480 Disco in Ferno was fun. 299 00:14:30,480 --> 00:14:31,360 Was he a fat? 300 00:14:31,360 --> 00:14:37,080 No, but the character was so over the top corny and goofy, it was just fun. 301 00:14:37,080 --> 00:14:41,840 We even see it now with Johnny Swinger doing that throwback gimmick in TNA at times. 302 00:14:41,840 --> 00:14:43,640 I guess it's just fun. 303 00:14:43,640 --> 00:14:46,640 And it does break up the seriousness of wrestling. 304 00:14:46,640 --> 00:14:51,800 Our truth has been a national treasure for 20 years because he's fun. 305 00:14:51,800 --> 00:14:57,200 Like we need those people to kind of lighten the seriousness of what we're watching. 306 00:14:57,200 --> 00:14:59,000 And you see it in movies. 307 00:14:59,000 --> 00:15:03,080 It's a serious action movie. They throw some jokes in there to lighten the loot a little bit. 308 00:15:03,080 --> 00:15:10,040 So anybody who knocks what they're doing, he just don't get what the performance art of professional wrestling is. 309 00:15:10,040 --> 00:15:12,400 Yeah, again, I mean, you hit the nail on the head there. 310 00:15:12,400 --> 00:15:15,720 I just find Dan Howes in very entertaining. 311 00:15:15,720 --> 00:15:17,080 I love the segment. 312 00:15:17,080 --> 00:15:18,160 The segment he's been having. 313 00:15:18,160 --> 00:15:19,520 I'm so happy for the guy. 314 00:15:19,520 --> 00:15:22,040 I think he's someone who has worked really hard. 315 00:15:22,040 --> 00:15:31,440 He's been very kind of open about his struggles of success and money and when he was on the rise up, he had a terrible injury in our OH. 316 00:15:31,440 --> 00:15:39,960 And it was just so great to see him following that elimination chamber debut where he was getting boot in Chicago. 317 00:15:39,960 --> 00:15:40,640 Really turning around. 318 00:15:40,640 --> 00:15:47,760 I think there was a lot of people, a lot of pundits that are higher audiences than Dr. Trin ideal on this podcast. 319 00:15:47,760 --> 00:15:56,920 Like basically saying that he was a failure and comparing him to the Galbley Googler and what was Fred Othman in WCW. 320 00:15:56,920 --> 00:15:58,560 Oh, shock master. 321 00:15:58,560 --> 00:15:59,440 I'm like, come on. 322 00:15:59,440 --> 00:16:01,480 Really? Like this isn't somebody that came out of nowhere. 323 00:16:01,480 --> 00:16:04,280 I mean, Dan Howes and was a character on all the rest of the night. 324 00:16:04,280 --> 00:16:05,960 I've heard people saying that shit. 325 00:16:05,960 --> 00:16:07,320 So I'm really happy for him. 326 00:16:07,320 --> 00:16:11,720 I thought his segment on SmackDown leading into this was extremely funny. 327 00:16:11,720 --> 00:16:15,040 Yeah, I mean, it's very rare that you watch him on TV and you don't have a smile on your face. 328 00:16:15,040 --> 00:16:27,080 Like when he when he dropped the S bomb, when he was trying to put together that like that whole thing in the background of the box and eventually leading me in his house and they bleeped out like him saying, shit. 329 00:16:27,080 --> 00:16:28,680 I thought that was just really good. 330 00:16:28,680 --> 00:16:29,920 So it was good. 331 00:16:29,920 --> 00:16:32,200 It was a good way to break up the show. 332 00:16:32,200 --> 00:16:35,240 Next match here is EO Sky defeating Oscar Dr. Trin. 333 00:16:35,240 --> 00:16:37,120 I both had EO Sky in this one. 334 00:16:37,120 --> 00:16:38,400 Phenomenal match. 335 00:16:38,400 --> 00:16:41,280 EO and Oscar put on a clinic in this one. 336 00:16:41,280 --> 00:16:45,840 I love that it was just to settle an end of a feud with no title involved. 337 00:16:45,840 --> 00:16:53,640 It was probably better for them, not to be on the WrestleMania card after all as they would have had a match that was like less than 10 minutes long. 338 00:16:53,640 --> 00:16:56,280 Because that was the theme of WrestleMania for whatever reason. 339 00:16:56,280 --> 00:16:57,840 This match was great. 340 00:16:57,840 --> 00:17:01,880 I think this is a match that is memorable for this year. 341 00:17:01,880 --> 00:17:07,120 At the end of the year when people talk about some of their favorite matches of the year, I think this is in the running for the conversation. 342 00:17:07,120 --> 00:17:09,720 And again, just basically kind of came out of nowhere. 343 00:17:09,720 --> 00:17:11,320 I mean, the feud was okay. 344 00:17:11,320 --> 00:17:14,920 It wasn't anything that I was like, I can't wait to see this payoff. 345 00:17:14,920 --> 00:17:22,320 There's been some stuff that we'll talk about later on once we recap back last year that has come out in regards to Oscar and her future in professional wrestling. 346 00:17:22,320 --> 00:17:28,600 But man, Dr. Trin, I mean, you expect that they're going to put on this type of match, but it also caught me by surprise. 347 00:17:28,600 --> 00:17:34,040 Because maybe it was in the confines of WWE, especially coming off of WrestleMania with some of the matches being let downs. 348 00:17:34,040 --> 00:17:34,640 This was great. 349 00:17:34,640 --> 00:17:36,040 This was a phenomenal match. 350 00:17:36,040 --> 00:17:39,280 One of the top WWE matches I've seen this year, Eosukei defeat Asuka. 351 00:17:39,280 --> 00:17:42,200 >> Yeah, just a fantastic match. 352 00:17:42,200 --> 00:17:45,520 And it also goes back to something you and I have talked about for the long journey of the show. 353 00:17:45,520 --> 00:17:51,920 And you have two people in the ring that are best friends or truly trust each other or whatever. 354 00:17:51,920 --> 00:17:56,600 They bring out the best in each other because they know they can go all out and the other person is going to take care of them. 355 00:17:56,600 --> 00:18:02,400 And Eo and Asuka, they're not sisters, but I mean, they're super close. 356 00:18:02,400 --> 00:18:10,560 And we've seen that all throughout this whole run of Asuka and Eo being on the main roster together along with or without Kyrie. 357 00:18:10,560 --> 00:18:16,600 And you're right, thank God this match was on this show and not WrestleMania. 358 00:18:16,600 --> 00:18:22,560 This show apparently also had more in ring time than either night of WrestleMania, which is kind of sad to say. 359 00:18:22,560 --> 00:18:29,840 But yeah, they got to actually really go through and you felt the emotion, you felt everything in this match. 360 00:18:29,840 --> 00:18:32,120 So just amazing match. 361 00:18:32,120 --> 00:18:37,120 Now I will say immediately at the end of the match when they did the hug, I was like, 362 00:18:37,120 --> 00:18:45,400 I really ate when that happens, but finding out what was going on afterwards makes a ton of sense as to why we got that hug. 363 00:18:45,400 --> 00:18:50,000 >> Yeah, we'll talk about Asuka here in just a few minutes while we wrap up backlash. 364 00:18:50,000 --> 00:18:56,760 But lots and news about her coming out of backlash and also immediately after this match took place. 365 00:18:56,760 --> 00:19:01,880 Before the main event, John Cena came out and he announced the John Cena classic where stars from today will face the stars. 366 00:19:01,880 --> 00:19:06,000 So tomorrow and a John Cena classic champion will be voted by the fans. 367 00:19:06,000 --> 00:19:13,200 Basically taking a page out of his Saturday night's main event, final event when he lost to Gunther in his retirement match. 368 00:19:13,200 --> 00:19:19,200 Where stars from NXT were taken on the stars of the main roster, which I love that this concept is coming back. 369 00:19:19,200 --> 00:19:24,960 If there's one thing that I and it's a huge thing that I am kind of groaning about is the fact that 370 00:19:26,560 --> 00:19:31,520 the John Cena classic champion could be decided and it could be someone who loses a match. 371 00:19:31,520 --> 00:19:36,080 Like it's just a matter of they perform really well, which I think is very lame. 372 00:19:36,080 --> 00:19:41,240 So if Tony DiAngelo loses to Cody Rhodes, what he puts on a great performance, 373 00:19:41,240 --> 00:19:43,960 he could be crowned the John Cena classic champion. 374 00:19:43,960 --> 00:19:46,520 Always when they announce there's going to be a new champion, I think people are like, okay, 375 00:19:46,520 --> 00:19:50,600 it's just something that's defended on a weekly basis, monthly basis, whatever. 376 00:19:50,600 --> 00:19:55,560 This to me screams more similar to the crown jewel championship that they give out currently where it's 377 00:19:55,560 --> 00:20:00,120 champion versus champion and Ron smack down more than something that's defended each week. 378 00:20:00,120 --> 00:20:03,480 But it appears that there's not too many details about it. 379 00:20:03,480 --> 00:20:05,120 There's no details on when this will happen. 380 00:20:05,120 --> 00:20:11,520 I just read before we hop down here, Netflix is interested in airing this event, this special, 381 00:20:11,520 --> 00:20:13,080 when it is announced. 382 00:20:13,080 --> 00:20:14,400 So more on that. 383 00:20:14,400 --> 00:20:17,760 But the overall concept of the stars of tomorrow taking on the stars of today, 384 00:20:17,760 --> 00:20:22,160 Dr. Try, I really dig and I think it's a cool concept minus the whole, yeah, 385 00:20:22,160 --> 00:20:24,200 you could lose and still be named champion of the event. 386 00:20:25,440 --> 00:20:29,880 Yeah, the concept of cool, the concept of cool, like NXT guys, he has made roster guys. 387 00:20:29,880 --> 00:20:32,720 I mean, you and I have been eating that up since Nexus. 388 00:20:32,720 --> 00:20:35,440 I mean, that's how long that this goes back. 389 00:20:35,440 --> 00:20:36,920 We love that type of stuff. 390 00:20:36,920 --> 00:20:40,920 We love, you know, go back to that starry spend event, that Saul Rooka Bailey match, 391 00:20:40,920 --> 00:20:44,400 Oba family, Cody Rose, we love that kind of stuff. 392 00:20:44,400 --> 00:20:49,360 But when I read, like when John Cena was explaining how this place out, 393 00:20:49,360 --> 00:20:52,360 I'm like, this is like American Idol. 394 00:20:52,360 --> 00:20:56,760 Like, it's the results don't matter, it's just who the fans like more like you can have 395 00:20:56,760 --> 00:21:03,120 Shiloh Hill who has a natural charisma about him that people seem to really respond to, 396 00:21:03,120 --> 00:21:08,160 taking on Gunther and fans are like, oh, Gunther on the match, but I really like that 397 00:21:08,160 --> 00:21:09,840 Shiloh Hill kit. 398 00:21:09,840 --> 00:21:14,560 And Shiloh Hill could become the John Cena classic champion despite getting, 399 00:21:14,560 --> 00:21:16,720 you know, chopped into oblivion by Gunther. 400 00:21:17,960 --> 00:21:22,840 So I don't know how I feel, I have it's a little bit like Taboo Tuesday, you know, 401 00:21:22,840 --> 00:21:28,480 where it's like, hey, maybe they're going to try to hedge people's votes and persuade them 402 00:21:28,480 --> 00:21:29,880 by the booking leading in. 403 00:21:29,880 --> 00:21:35,320 I don't know, but I don't know how I feel about, like you said, like I don't know how 404 00:21:35,320 --> 00:21:41,000 the fans just judging is for one, it kind of means no villain is going to win. 405 00:21:41,000 --> 00:21:50,480 Because like if you have the Miz against, oh, a EK prosper, is that his name? 406 00:21:50,480 --> 00:21:51,480 EK prosper? 407 00:21:51,480 --> 00:21:52,480 Yup. 408 00:21:52,480 --> 00:21:53,480 Right? 409 00:21:53,480 --> 00:21:54,480 Miz against EK prosper. 410 00:21:54,480 --> 00:21:59,680 Nobody's pick, like most fans are not picking the Miz because they dislike the Miz. 411 00:21:59,680 --> 00:22:05,500 An EK prosper could be your first John Cena content or John Cena classic champion despite 412 00:22:05,500 --> 00:22:06,500 losing the match. 413 00:22:06,500 --> 00:22:11,940 It doesn't make a lot of sense to me to do it that way, but I get it. 414 00:22:11,940 --> 00:22:16,460 It's also way to kind of gauge how fans feel about certain performers. 415 00:22:16,460 --> 00:22:20,780 You can kind of know it's, it's, it's literally kind of like a litmus test of like, hey, how 416 00:22:20,780 --> 00:22:27,180 organically can fans get behind somebody that we put on a main roster spot is that charisma 417 00:22:27,180 --> 00:22:31,220 translating immediately over to the main roster audience. 418 00:22:31,220 --> 00:22:34,420 If not, we may have to send him back to NXT and tweak the character a little bit. 419 00:22:34,420 --> 00:22:36,980 So there are good and bad things about it. 420 00:22:36,980 --> 00:22:39,500 And then I literally said this. 421 00:22:39,500 --> 00:22:42,100 I was like, I was so hoping for a tournament. 422 00:22:42,100 --> 00:22:43,900 So Jeff could get excited. 423 00:22:43,900 --> 00:22:47,100 And it's not actually even really a tournament. 424 00:22:47,100 --> 00:22:48,900 No, it's just an event and then we vote on it. 425 00:22:48,900 --> 00:22:52,700 So it's like cyber, cyber Sunday, taboo Tuesday. 426 00:22:52,700 --> 00:22:55,900 Yeah, I guess we'll have to vote online over at WWE.com. 427 00:22:55,900 --> 00:22:56,900 So there we go. 428 00:22:56,900 --> 00:22:57,900 John Cena classic. 429 00:22:57,900 --> 00:22:58,900 Hey, how's it going? 430 00:22:58,900 --> 00:22:59,900 Hey, how's it going? 431 00:22:59,900 --> 00:23:03,180 Or you have to vote on club WWE, but you got to pay the subscription fee for it. 432 00:23:03,180 --> 00:23:04,180 Yeah, still waiting on that. 433 00:23:04,180 --> 00:23:05,180 That's what we predicted. 434 00:23:05,180 --> 00:23:08,620 I really side predicted that we were joking around about what the subscription price will 435 00:23:08,620 --> 00:23:09,620 be. 436 00:23:09,620 --> 00:23:13,660 But John Cena classic coming to a television near you. 437 00:23:13,660 --> 00:23:17,020 And then finally the main event here, Roman Reigns defeats Jacob Fattu to retain the 438 00:23:17,020 --> 00:23:18,020 World of the WIH Championship. 439 00:23:18,020 --> 00:23:20,020 Dr. Shrinner both had Roman Reigns in this one. 440 00:23:20,020 --> 00:23:25,060 A really great storytelling match that helped elevate Jacob Fattu in a loss. 441 00:23:25,060 --> 00:23:28,420 Love the ending where Roman has to pull out all of his tricks to defeat Vattu and the 442 00:23:28,420 --> 00:23:33,100 ending image after the match was Jacob standing tall where how Roman Reigns was gasping for 443 00:23:33,100 --> 00:23:36,060 air despite the win before Fattu snapped. 444 00:23:36,060 --> 00:23:37,540 This is an excellent match. 445 00:23:37,540 --> 00:23:39,740 We'll cover what they did on Monday as well. 446 00:23:39,740 --> 00:23:41,340 This has been really fun to watch. 447 00:23:41,340 --> 00:23:45,740 Fattu gets some shine the last three or four weeks coming on to WrestleMania. 448 00:23:45,740 --> 00:23:47,500 And again, I just love the image. 449 00:23:47,500 --> 00:23:48,500 Reigns wins. 450 00:23:48,500 --> 00:23:52,260 He's laying on the mat, spit coming out of his mouth. 451 00:23:52,260 --> 00:23:54,660 And Fattu is slowly getting up being like, what the hell? 452 00:23:54,660 --> 00:23:56,060 I lost. 453 00:23:56,060 --> 00:23:57,620 And it's just being the crap out of Roman. 454 00:23:57,620 --> 00:24:00,940 I mean, it's rare that we get to see someone look so good in a loss. 455 00:24:00,940 --> 00:24:04,700 I love when it happens, despite the fact that we're just rebashing the John Cena classic. 456 00:24:04,700 --> 00:24:08,260 I don't think we should have given Fattu the title in a loss. 457 00:24:08,260 --> 00:24:13,300 But this was great for Jacob Fattu's career as he defeats, loses to Roman Reigns in an 458 00:24:13,300 --> 00:24:15,460 effort where he looks very, very good. 459 00:24:15,460 --> 00:24:17,500 Dr. Treyer, your thoughts on this one? 460 00:24:17,500 --> 00:24:20,540 Yeah, so on the matches of, I love the match. 461 00:24:20,540 --> 00:24:22,260 I really, really, really enjoyed it. 462 00:24:22,260 --> 00:24:26,060 And it did make Jacob Fattu just seem like a beast even though he lost. 463 00:24:26,060 --> 00:24:27,300 I love that part. 464 00:24:27,300 --> 00:24:33,740 I will say, and I think Bully Ray said the same thing on his show. 465 00:24:33,740 --> 00:24:39,660 What I don't know is the direction of Jacob Fattu as a character. 466 00:24:39,660 --> 00:24:43,940 Like he's like coming off of a somany where he was wildly cheered in that match with Drew 467 00:24:43,940 --> 00:24:45,540 McIntyre. 468 00:24:45,540 --> 00:24:49,380 Now you're getting these weird mixed responses where the fans do love Roman Reigns, but 469 00:24:49,380 --> 00:24:54,460 they like Jacob, but then during the match, like, who are you cheering for? 470 00:24:54,460 --> 00:25:00,180 And I wonder, I don't know, I want to say diminishing anything that Jacob is doing because I like 471 00:25:00,180 --> 00:25:06,060 what he's actually doing, but I do question like, where is this character going? 472 00:25:06,060 --> 00:25:12,860 Is he just going to be unhinged and maybe the new anti-hero of WWE where he's a good guy, 473 00:25:12,860 --> 00:25:17,980 but he does kind of healish stuff, like a little bit like Austin S in a way. 474 00:25:17,980 --> 00:25:20,020 You know, like is that the direction we're going here? 475 00:25:20,020 --> 00:25:25,780 We're making a new anti-hero or is this going back even longer where WWE at one time said 476 00:25:25,780 --> 00:25:27,380 we don't do good guys and bad guys. 477 00:25:27,380 --> 00:25:28,460 We show shades of gray. 478 00:25:28,460 --> 00:25:33,220 Is this the shades of gray we're getting of all these characters we're starting to see? 479 00:25:33,220 --> 00:25:38,300 You know, whether it's Trent, Sammy, Jacob, there's a lot of gray area in these characters 480 00:25:38,300 --> 00:25:39,300 now. 481 00:25:39,300 --> 00:25:41,660 Is that the new direction of the company? 482 00:25:41,660 --> 00:25:45,140 Like that's just not so much the match itself was great. 483 00:25:45,140 --> 00:25:46,140 The ending was great. 484 00:25:46,140 --> 00:25:53,660 It is kind of where are we going with characters in WWE with this shades of gray for lack of a 485 00:25:53,660 --> 00:25:56,100 better term with all these characters? 486 00:25:56,100 --> 00:26:01,220 Yeah, I think you've put out something really interesting here because Seth Rollins falls 487 00:26:01,220 --> 00:26:05,460 in that void, the trick where he's in the match falls in that void, the range, Fat 2 match 488 00:26:05,460 --> 00:26:09,860 that we're talking about here, it's definitely falls into that void where it's very difficult 489 00:26:09,860 --> 00:26:13,980 to see who is the heal and the baby face right now. 490 00:26:13,980 --> 00:26:17,020 I can't figure out with reigns, I mean, Fat 2 is getting boot sometimes, he's getting 491 00:26:17,020 --> 00:26:18,540 cheered sometimes. 492 00:26:18,540 --> 00:26:20,900 People are booing what he's doing, loving what he's doing. 493 00:26:20,900 --> 00:26:22,300 Same thing with Roman as well. 494 00:26:22,300 --> 00:26:25,140 Roman had to pull out every trick. 495 00:26:25,140 --> 00:26:27,900 He had to take the turnbuckle pad off and slam Fat 2's ad. 496 00:26:27,900 --> 00:26:32,540 He had to mess with the referee and then hit the spear to get the victory. 497 00:26:32,540 --> 00:26:35,940 That's not something an ultra baby face does. 498 00:26:35,940 --> 00:26:38,140 That's something what a heal does. 499 00:26:38,140 --> 00:26:42,060 I guess the only delineations, even though the fan's soul cheer from, it's like when you're 500 00:26:42,060 --> 00:26:45,300 tied up with Paul Heyman, I guess you're considered basically a heal. 501 00:26:45,300 --> 00:26:49,460 Maybe the only heal right now in WWE is Logan Paul. 502 00:26:49,460 --> 00:26:54,020 That seems to be someone that everybody loves and dislikes. 503 00:26:54,020 --> 00:26:58,180 It's interesting because the fans are the ones that are driving who they want as the baby 504 00:26:58,180 --> 00:27:02,300 face and heal and create, it's just kind of like putting out a good storyline out there. 505 00:27:02,300 --> 00:27:03,500 Really good storytelling match. 506 00:27:03,500 --> 00:27:09,740 I think this is a match for folks that want to see a little bit of everything. 507 00:27:09,740 --> 00:27:11,620 There was a little bit of everything in here. 508 00:27:11,620 --> 00:27:18,060 It in-ring stuff from Braun and Seth, Sammy and Trick, entertaining match from Danhausen, 509 00:27:18,060 --> 00:27:23,520 Miz, Kit Wilson, manyhausen, and a phenomenal storytelling and in-ring performance from EO 510 00:27:23,520 --> 00:27:24,520 Sky and Oscar. 511 00:27:24,520 --> 00:27:29,360 Then you capped off the night with just a great storytelling match between Roman Reigns and 512 00:27:29,360 --> 00:27:30,860 Jacob Fat 2. 513 00:27:30,860 --> 00:27:35,800 That gets you to a very solid backlash PLE, which we will give our rating and review here 514 00:27:35,800 --> 00:27:37,500 in just a few moments. 515 00:27:37,500 --> 00:27:41,580 Our PLE, Pay Per View, prediction record, this one, Dr. Trey, you and I both went 5 and 516 00:27:41,580 --> 00:27:45,020 O. So now we're coming out of this one, 17 and 9 on the year. 517 00:27:45,020 --> 00:27:47,580 Match of the night and event rating. 518 00:27:47,580 --> 00:27:53,540 I gave backlash, a 4.2 and my match of the night was EO Sky and Oscar. 519 00:27:53,540 --> 00:27:54,860 What say you, my friend? 520 00:27:54,860 --> 00:27:56,740 We've been together too long. 521 00:27:56,740 --> 00:28:00,380 I had a 4.2 also and I also had Oscar and EO Sky. 522 00:28:00,380 --> 00:28:04,420 So yeah, this is one of those ones that were like, me and Jeff are on the same wavelength 523 00:28:04,420 --> 00:28:09,020 and yeah, we're reading each other's thoughts, probably as the show is going on. 524 00:28:09,020 --> 00:28:15,380 Yeah, I mean, I just was thinking about as this show is going on as well was like, I was 525 00:28:15,380 --> 00:28:21,140 making a case that they need to make PLE's like 5 matches max long and that seems to be 526 00:28:21,140 --> 00:28:25,060 their sweet spot right now because you get a lot done and WrestleMania could be 5 and 527 00:28:25,060 --> 00:28:26,860 5 and still make a ton of money. 528 00:28:26,860 --> 00:28:31,900 So yeah, this was just a good all-around show and kind of made up for at least WrestleMania 529 00:28:31,900 --> 00:28:35,100 Saturday that we saw a couple weeks prior. 530 00:28:35,100 --> 00:28:41,700 The big news out of WWE backlash, Dr. Trey was the report that Oscar was either fully retired, 531 00:28:41,700 --> 00:28:44,980 semi retired, following her match with EO Sky at backlash. 532 00:28:44,980 --> 00:28:48,220 The reports are circulating that she is semi retired. 533 00:28:48,220 --> 00:28:51,860 She has gone back to Japan for a personal matter. 534 00:28:51,860 --> 00:28:55,500 Nothing has been disclosed as you and I record this and what's going on and quite frankly, 535 00:28:55,500 --> 00:28:59,300 it shouldn't be if it's a personal matter, like just leave that closed up. 536 00:28:59,300 --> 00:29:02,500 I don't need a report on that or need to know that as a fan. 537 00:29:02,500 --> 00:29:04,260 She's got something going on in her life. 538 00:29:04,260 --> 00:29:06,060 She needs to take care of it. 539 00:29:06,060 --> 00:29:10,860 But I was extremely selfishly disappointed at first when we heard this is it. 540 00:29:10,860 --> 00:29:14,620 She's retiring because Oscar has been phenomenal in WWE. 541 00:29:14,620 --> 00:29:16,660 Just an absolute great mainstay. 542 00:29:16,660 --> 00:29:21,860 Really changed the game when it came to female wrestling in WWE and has been a great character. 543 00:29:21,860 --> 00:29:26,540 You can make a case over the last like maybe three years or so, the dominance and 544 00:29:26,540 --> 00:29:29,860 intimidation factor of the Oscar character may have been lost. 545 00:29:29,860 --> 00:29:32,980 But then you see a performance like she had a backlash against EO Sky and you're like, 546 00:29:32,980 --> 00:29:36,860 "Ah, yes, this is the Oscar that we know and love." 547 00:29:36,860 --> 00:29:43,780 Thoughts here as, who knows, I doubt we have seen the last match for Oscar in WWE, but 548 00:29:43,780 --> 00:29:47,860 it may be some time before we see one of the greatest, the Empress of Tomorrow, Oscar, 549 00:29:47,860 --> 00:29:49,860 and Roller's Entertainment. 550 00:29:49,860 --> 00:29:52,820 Yeah, I mean it's selfish like you said, like I don't want to see her go. 551 00:29:52,820 --> 00:29:54,340 I love Oscar. 552 00:29:54,340 --> 00:29:58,180 I think out of all the action figures that we have in our house, we have more Oscar action 553 00:29:58,180 --> 00:30:04,220 figures than anybody else because she crosses like for us in the house, like my son loves 554 00:30:04,220 --> 00:30:08,140 Japanese anime, inflows my wife loves strong female characters. 555 00:30:08,140 --> 00:30:09,300 I love great wrestling. 556 00:30:09,300 --> 00:30:15,580 We all have Oscar figures because of our different, you know, affinities for her. 557 00:30:15,580 --> 00:30:21,220 It is, like if this was her last match, I mean she went out maybe as well as you can possibly 558 00:30:21,220 --> 00:30:26,980 go out, just match the night, great match with your best friend that just kind of a perfect 559 00:30:26,980 --> 00:30:30,580 swan song if that is her swan song for a while. 560 00:30:30,580 --> 00:30:35,580 And you know, she had stuff, we saw this, you know, when she was recovering from her injury 561 00:30:35,580 --> 00:30:41,380 prior to her last return, was that she was having issues with fans, she was having personal 562 00:30:41,380 --> 00:30:42,380 life stuff going on. 563 00:30:42,380 --> 00:30:47,220 And if this is her chance to kind of go home and clean everything up, get everything 564 00:30:47,220 --> 00:30:49,860 back whole, yeah, absolutely go home. 565 00:30:49,860 --> 00:30:54,420 You know, I was in the building when the streak ended, you know, against her and Charlotte 566 00:30:54,420 --> 00:31:00,020 Flair and how disappointing that was for most of the people in Super Dome when that happened, 567 00:31:00,020 --> 00:31:03,860 but she changed the nature of humans wrestling in WWE. 568 00:31:03,860 --> 00:31:09,580 Had the divas era into the horsewoman era, but nobody hits like Oscar. 569 00:31:09,580 --> 00:31:14,100 Nobody had the strong style in the women's division. 570 00:31:14,100 --> 00:31:18,340 And she opened the door not just for other computers of that ill foot. 571 00:31:18,340 --> 00:31:24,540 You know, the Shayna Pisa, they can, that crossover appeal were like, hey, not only can they 572 00:31:24,540 --> 00:31:29,620 be beautiful, not only can they be great technically, but they can beat the living hell out of 573 00:31:29,620 --> 00:31:30,620 you. 574 00:31:30,620 --> 00:31:36,260 And she brought that element to WWE like nobody else had and opened the door for those 575 00:31:36,260 --> 00:31:37,260 kind of performers. 576 00:31:37,260 --> 00:31:42,740 So just if this is the end of her career, like tell, you know, tell to the hat, thank you 577 00:31:42,740 --> 00:31:48,060 Oscar, if it's not like we just can't wait to see you back again. 578 00:31:48,060 --> 00:31:49,740 That's right, two questions for you here. 579 00:31:49,740 --> 00:31:52,540 So you and I have been doing the show since 2010, right? 580 00:31:52,540 --> 00:31:57,260 16 years of S R T U, 848 episodes. 581 00:31:57,260 --> 00:31:58,660 Where would you rank Oscar? 582 00:31:58,660 --> 00:32:05,580 I live like the top, you know, female wrestlers that we've ever covered, one, and then two, how 583 00:32:05,580 --> 00:32:12,220 many times do you think Oscar is one, the female wrestler of the year from you and I? 584 00:32:12,220 --> 00:32:16,460 I don't think she's ever won female wrestler of the year from us. 585 00:32:16,460 --> 00:32:25,380 She won once, 2000, the NXT run, 2020, you selected her as the female wrestler of the 586 00:32:25,380 --> 00:32:26,380 year. 587 00:32:26,380 --> 00:32:31,740 Okay, well then, okay, one, we tend to try to forget 2020, that's why. 588 00:32:31,740 --> 00:32:38,860 Yeah, end of the, like in where I would place her in the women's rankings at the top in 589 00:32:38,860 --> 00:32:47,780 the last 15 years, maybe like top five, I would say probably the third or fourth. 590 00:32:47,780 --> 00:32:52,040 I typically, if I go over like the history of our show, it usually goes in my head, Becky 591 00:32:52,040 --> 00:32:58,100 Charlotte, and then either Oscar or Bailey, like right in there is where I would put her. 592 00:32:58,100 --> 00:33:01,420 So I would probably, I would always have her in the top five, but it would probably be 593 00:33:01,420 --> 00:33:06,380 like depending on what we're talking about, either Oscar, Bailey, and then probably Sasha 594 00:33:06,380 --> 00:33:07,860 Banks at number five. 595 00:33:07,860 --> 00:33:09,300 Yeah, I'm in agreement with you. 596 00:33:09,300 --> 00:33:10,300 I think she's top three. 597 00:33:10,300 --> 00:33:16,420 I think it's like Becky Charlotte, her, you could switch her and Bailey as well, but I think 598 00:33:16,420 --> 00:33:17,900 it's definitely top three or four. 599 00:33:17,900 --> 00:33:19,180 I mean, the impact the Oscar had. 600 00:33:19,180 --> 00:33:22,180 I mean, that run in NXT is one of my all time favorites. 601 00:33:22,180 --> 00:33:25,340 I mean, she held the title for what over like 500 days. 602 00:33:25,340 --> 00:33:30,620 She defeated the Goldberg undefeated streak and all that stuff and it was really cool. 603 00:33:30,620 --> 00:33:33,100 And then she made her way onto the main roster, wins the rumble. 604 00:33:33,100 --> 00:33:35,340 And then unfortunately, it ends up losing at the WrestleMania. 605 00:33:35,340 --> 00:33:38,860 You were at out of tray, WrestleMania 34 against Charlotte Flair. 606 00:33:38,860 --> 00:33:43,220 So there you go, all the best to Oscar whenever she's dealing with and hope it gets resolved 607 00:33:43,220 --> 00:33:48,940 positively and we get to see her back in a wrestling ring sooner rather than later. 608 00:33:48,940 --> 00:33:53,980 Sticking with far out from backlash, Dr. Trey, one of the biggest pieces of Fallout was 609 00:33:53,980 --> 00:33:56,020 the clothes of Monday Night Raw. 610 00:33:56,020 --> 00:33:59,300 It was set up with an acknowledgement ceremony that Roman Reigns was going to make Jacob 611 00:33:59,300 --> 00:34:00,940 Fattu acknowledge him. 612 00:34:00,940 --> 00:34:04,180 There was, you know, Rumlins earlier in the night that they wanted a fire. 613 00:34:04,180 --> 00:34:09,700 Jacob Fattu based on his attacks on these officials and referees, went backlash closed out. 614 00:34:09,700 --> 00:34:14,140 And they said one through the acknowledgement ceremony and Fattu comes out and 615 00:34:14,140 --> 00:34:17,740 he beats the crap out of the bloodline basically. 616 00:34:17,740 --> 00:34:21,100 He beats the crap out of Jeyusso coming out to the ring. 617 00:34:21,100 --> 00:34:23,940 He beats the crap out of Jimmy Usso going to the ring. 618 00:34:23,940 --> 00:34:28,940 He beats the crap out of Roman Reigns in the ring and then closes the night by laying out all three members. 619 00:34:28,940 --> 00:34:33,980 And when he laid out all three members like he did it individually, then laid out all three members. 620 00:34:33,980 --> 00:34:37,580 And we saw what happened, you know, 48 hours prior on backlash. 621 00:34:37,580 --> 00:34:41,980 Like if this was two, three years ago when the bloodline was on top, the core of the bloodline, 622 00:34:41,980 --> 00:34:45,420 these three guys, you would be like, this is a huge deal. 623 00:34:45,420 --> 00:34:49,100 And in the moment, I didn't recognize it because it's been such a time since they've been 624 00:34:49,100 --> 00:34:51,660 reunited as a unit like they are right now. 625 00:34:51,660 --> 00:34:55,740 Even though we don't know if they're formally back as the bloodline or not, typical WWE 626 00:34:55,740 --> 00:34:56,740 creative. 627 00:34:56,740 --> 00:34:59,540 But with that said, I was like, this is the push we've been waiting for. 628 00:34:59,540 --> 00:35:02,020 Like when they did that close, I was like, holy shit. 629 00:35:02,020 --> 00:35:08,860 He laid out like three of the most on screen dominant characters of the last six years going 630 00:35:08,860 --> 00:35:11,900 back to 2020 with the bloodline storyline. 631 00:35:11,900 --> 00:35:17,300 Like that was a massive deal for Jacob Vatu to just continuously beat the crap out of the 632 00:35:17,300 --> 00:35:18,780 bloodline. 633 00:35:18,780 --> 00:35:22,060 This is the push that I've been waiting for for Jacob Vatu because I do believe him as 634 00:35:22,060 --> 00:35:25,860 a belief in him as a long term character for WWE. 635 00:35:25,860 --> 00:35:30,860 But was this the push that you were waiting for as we've seen Jacob Vatu really dominate 636 00:35:30,860 --> 00:35:35,300 these last three or four weeks and then more importantly over the last week or so at back 637 00:35:35,300 --> 00:35:39,100 lash and then to close out Monday night Raw? 638 00:35:39,100 --> 00:35:42,940 And if you throw in Smackdown, he took out the NFTs. 639 00:35:42,940 --> 00:35:47,540 Like he took out everybody that he's literally taken out. 640 00:35:47,540 --> 00:35:51,020 Everybody of some moan descent in the company right now. 641 00:35:51,020 --> 00:35:54,180 So this is a super huge push. 642 00:35:54,180 --> 00:35:59,580 And yeah, like we've been waiting for, can you alluded to earlier with the young guys and 643 00:35:59,580 --> 00:36:02,220 the old guys on the car and the way they're just going to lay it out? 644 00:36:02,220 --> 00:36:08,100 Like we've been waiting to see the elevation of younger talent to start assuming those 645 00:36:08,100 --> 00:36:13,820 mantle spots in the roster of WWE. 646 00:36:13,820 --> 00:36:20,240 And for Jacob to literally take out solo in the NFTs, come back, have that match with 647 00:36:20,240 --> 00:36:25,140 with Roman at back lash where he's the one standing in the ring when we close in the show 648 00:36:25,140 --> 00:36:28,460 to come back and do what he did on Monday night Raw. 649 00:36:28,460 --> 00:36:33,220 That's an amazing push and you don't get that unless that company buys into you. 650 00:36:33,220 --> 00:36:39,860 I mean, you'd think of every big badass kind of guy who's come through the line against 651 00:36:39,860 --> 00:36:43,540 the blood line or through NXT or whatever. 652 00:36:43,540 --> 00:36:47,820 Nobody's gotten that kind of push over like a two week period like this. 653 00:36:47,820 --> 00:36:52,300 So yeah, it's an amazing kind of thing to see. 654 00:36:52,300 --> 00:36:56,700 Right now like with what you're looking at between the Oba Femi push and the Jacob Faw 655 00:36:56,700 --> 00:37:01,220 two push, like nobody's seen this kind of stuff in decades. 656 00:37:01,220 --> 00:37:03,660 So it's really, really amazing to see. 657 00:37:03,660 --> 00:37:05,500 >> Yeah, it's a hell of a push. 658 00:37:05,500 --> 00:37:13,580 It's a push that can make someone a top star in the company for some time and it's exciting. 659 00:37:13,580 --> 00:37:20,500 I mean, to me, the biggest thing that's playing out right now is the end goal here. 660 00:37:20,500 --> 00:37:23,820 I think the way things are going, we would be like, well, you got to put the title on Jacob 661 00:37:23,820 --> 00:37:26,700 at some point and maybe you do it at Clash in Italy. 662 00:37:26,700 --> 00:37:31,620 If they end up doing night of champions over in Saudi Arabia in late June, you do it then. 663 00:37:31,620 --> 00:37:36,820 It would feel like to me in normal circumstances that the title reign of Roman Reigns presently 664 00:37:36,820 --> 00:37:40,180 is not going to be that long and that they're going to put the championship on Jacob Faw 665 00:37:40,180 --> 00:37:41,180 two. 666 00:37:41,180 --> 00:37:44,460 But the way things have gone or what we lead to believe on reports and what I think we're 667 00:37:44,460 --> 00:37:48,140 thinking come out of WrestleMania was that all roads were going to lead to Roman Reigns 668 00:37:48,140 --> 00:37:50,540 versus Oba Femme at Summer's thing. 669 00:37:50,540 --> 00:37:51,540 That's my thought. 670 00:37:51,540 --> 00:37:52,980 Obviously things can always change. 671 00:37:52,980 --> 00:37:54,020 Maybe we get a triple threat at this. 672 00:37:54,020 --> 00:37:55,700 Faw two has a championship. 673 00:37:55,700 --> 00:37:56,780 It's Reigns and Oba. 674 00:37:56,780 --> 00:37:59,500 I wouldn't like that for the Oba Femme character. 675 00:37:59,500 --> 00:38:06,900 But they're kind of putting themselves in a corner right now, Dr. Tre where I think they, 676 00:38:06,900 --> 00:38:10,300 like a huge angle plays out here where the bloodlines fully in. 677 00:38:10,300 --> 00:38:15,340 They're back to healish mode at, let's say, Clash in Italy with Faw two Roman Reigns 678 00:38:15,340 --> 00:38:19,940 rematch or maybe they do something where it's like, maybe they could be sent up the Reigns 679 00:38:19,940 --> 00:38:25,780 and the Usos taking on Jacob Faw two and two people who knows that could be one way around 680 00:38:25,780 --> 00:38:26,780 it. 681 00:38:26,780 --> 00:38:30,380 But it just feels inevitable that the way things are going that you need to put the championship 682 00:38:30,380 --> 00:38:33,300 on Jacob Faw two here at some point. 683 00:38:33,300 --> 00:38:35,300 And if you don't, that will be very disappointing. 684 00:38:35,300 --> 00:38:39,300 And we've seen that play out with other people that were on the rise like an LA night while 685 00:38:39,300 --> 00:38:42,100 he didn't have something as dominant as what we're seeing right now with Jacob Faw 686 00:38:42,100 --> 00:38:43,100 two. 687 00:38:43,100 --> 00:38:48,220 So it's exciting to see Dr. Tre, but they're kind of booking themselves into a corner a little 688 00:38:48,220 --> 00:38:49,220 bit. 689 00:38:49,220 --> 00:38:54,020 How do you think this gets all executed now over the next, let's say four to six weeks? 690 00:38:54,020 --> 00:38:57,220 I mean, I can see, I can see the booking themselves into an angle. 691 00:38:57,220 --> 00:39:01,620 And when we've talked about this with Roman on top, I mean, hell for the last basically five 692 00:39:01,620 --> 00:39:05,940 years that like at some point you got to pull the trigger and take the belt off and they 693 00:39:05,940 --> 00:39:09,340 never did until Cody. 694 00:39:09,340 --> 00:39:14,260 And you get that mantle past that you are the ones that put down Roman and took a title 695 00:39:14,260 --> 00:39:15,260 off them. 696 00:39:15,260 --> 00:39:16,900 That's a big thing. 697 00:39:16,900 --> 00:39:21,940 With what they're doing with the character, I don't know if you absolutely have to put the 698 00:39:21,940 --> 00:39:23,180 title on Jacob. 699 00:39:23,180 --> 00:39:30,900 He can just be so unhinged and so uncontrollable that no matter which direction he goes, like 700 00:39:30,900 --> 00:39:34,180 you can have a Jimmy or a J screw him over. 701 00:39:34,180 --> 00:39:41,060 And then he gets distracted into chasing down that person and not have the title. 702 00:39:41,060 --> 00:39:45,100 In a lot of ways he does remind me of the Maga character. 703 00:39:45,100 --> 00:39:47,580 Maga never was world champion. 704 00:39:47,580 --> 00:39:52,300 But because his character was so unhinged and all over the place, he could get shuffled 705 00:39:52,300 --> 00:39:55,100 in and out of stuff pretty easily. 706 00:39:55,100 --> 00:40:00,100 And he never really lost credibility until the end of his run. 707 00:40:00,100 --> 00:40:05,620 But what they have with Jacob's ability to talk is a different level above what the Maga 708 00:40:05,620 --> 00:40:06,620 character was. 709 00:40:06,620 --> 00:40:10,500 So I don't think you have to put the belts on him. 710 00:40:10,500 --> 00:40:16,020 As long as you have him for like a return, gold-burging people and just destroying people 711 00:40:16,020 --> 00:40:20,580 and just being completely wild and crazy in all over the place and you never know what 712 00:40:20,580 --> 00:40:25,300 you're going to get from him, I think that could hang fans interest for a very, very long 713 00:40:25,300 --> 00:40:30,020 time until you I do think though within a year you have to remember. 714 00:40:30,020 --> 00:40:33,940 And reward him with something to kind of lend an extra layer of credibility. 715 00:40:33,940 --> 00:40:35,940 That's kind of where we're at with LA Knight. 716 00:40:35,940 --> 00:40:36,940 We all love LA Knight. 717 00:40:36,940 --> 00:40:41,580 He's been one of the hottest characters for three years and yet he really hasn't won anything 718 00:40:41,580 --> 00:40:44,260 other than what two small little US title runs. 719 00:40:44,260 --> 00:40:45,820 Please never one the big one. 720 00:40:45,820 --> 00:40:50,140 So you don't want Jacob falling into that line. 721 00:40:50,140 --> 00:40:55,500 But as hot as he is right now, I mean you could have him get distracted, go back to 722 00:40:55,500 --> 00:41:01,100 Oba and Roman and then build to Oba Jacob match at WrestleMania and have that be one of your 723 00:41:01,100 --> 00:41:02,580 featured matches. 724 00:41:02,580 --> 00:41:05,420 Yeah, it's really kind of booking themselves in New Encourner. 725 00:41:05,420 --> 00:41:08,980 I'm sure they have some sort of plan and idea that's playing out here, but I think just 726 00:41:08,980 --> 00:41:13,940 normal wrestling 101 what we've seen is dominance like this leads to gold at some point 727 00:41:13,940 --> 00:41:15,780 relatively soon. 728 00:41:15,780 --> 00:41:19,580 And when you have Roman reigns involved and you see longer term plans or shorter term 729 00:41:19,580 --> 00:41:24,860 plan depending on how you look at it with this reigns run, it leads you to believe that 730 00:41:24,860 --> 00:41:29,660 that's not going to happen because as you pointed out, Dr. Trey, we saw that throughout the entire 731 00:41:29,660 --> 00:41:30,660 reigns championship run. 732 00:41:30,660 --> 00:41:34,980 I mean Kevin Owens was, thank God he had a championship run under his belt at that point 733 00:41:34,980 --> 00:41:37,620 because I mean he is the one that we always kind of point back to and go. 734 00:41:37,620 --> 00:41:40,300 They kind of messed him up a little bit. 735 00:41:40,300 --> 00:41:45,860 And I think LA Knight is somewhere, is someone that WWE creative knows what they have and 736 00:41:45,860 --> 00:41:49,300 maybe they don't fully believe in him because he hasn't gotten these opportunities. 737 00:41:49,300 --> 00:41:52,340 You hear these stories that he's supposed to be in these high profile matches. 738 00:41:52,340 --> 00:41:56,340 I think it's like Gunther was one that he was supposed to have and it didn't happen. 739 00:41:56,340 --> 00:41:58,780 Then he's working with I show speed at WrestleMania. 740 00:41:58,780 --> 00:42:03,460 I tend to think of him and the popularity has and then not really capitalizing on it because 741 00:42:03,460 --> 00:42:07,820 either A. creative doesn't believe in him or B. They just give him that creative to continue 742 00:42:07,820 --> 00:42:09,140 to capitalize off of it. 743 00:42:09,140 --> 00:42:13,260 So meteoroidic rise right now for Jacob Fattu, which is really exciting. 744 00:42:13,260 --> 00:42:16,740 Something that you tend not to see often in WWE. 745 00:42:16,740 --> 00:42:20,980 And overall, Dr. Trey, I think when you look at the T-leaves right now, WWE's future 746 00:42:20,980 --> 00:42:26,780 has me excited because when you look at where things are headed for the company, I think 747 00:42:26,780 --> 00:42:33,660 there's three stars that are really sticking out to me on the male side and maybe a fourth. 748 00:42:33,660 --> 00:42:36,900 Oba Femi, Braun Breaker, Jacob Fattu. 749 00:42:36,900 --> 00:42:41,940 And they all presently, I guess, reside on the Raw brand even though Jacob Fattu is on 750 00:42:41,940 --> 00:42:42,940 the SmackDown brand. 751 00:42:42,940 --> 00:42:44,980 He's been on Raw Lot. 752 00:42:44,980 --> 00:42:47,740 Kind of on the periphery here on the fourth, number four side is Trick Williams. 753 00:42:47,740 --> 00:42:53,220 I think from an entertainer, Stan Borat, Pointe Karr's Mac, person, it's Trick Williams in 754 00:42:53,220 --> 00:42:54,220 there as well. 755 00:42:54,220 --> 00:42:58,300 But the three dominant guys that could really care the company be your next scene of a 756 00:42:58,300 --> 00:43:00,820 T-son orn and we always tend to point to this. 757 00:43:00,820 --> 00:43:06,380 Or I guess you could even say your next reigns, Rollins and Ambrose for the next wave of top 758 00:43:06,380 --> 00:43:11,020 stars is Oba Braun and Jacob Fattu to me. 759 00:43:11,020 --> 00:43:13,580 Do you see those same T-leaves, Dr. Trey? 760 00:43:13,580 --> 00:43:18,060 If you do, does this have you excited for the future for the men's division of WWE? 761 00:43:18,060 --> 00:43:21,580 What are your thoughts here, or Oba Braun and Fattu being the ones that could care the torch 762 00:43:21,580 --> 00:43:23,580 for some time and roll us in entertainment? 763 00:43:23,580 --> 00:43:24,580 Yeah. 764 00:43:24,580 --> 00:43:27,340 When you were kind of mentioned earlier, I did have Trick in the mix because you always got 765 00:43:27,340 --> 00:43:30,020 to have that over Karr's Madagascar. 766 00:43:30,020 --> 00:43:34,140 And Trick's not as, and the amazing thing is we talk about Trick almost like he's an 767 00:43:34,140 --> 00:43:35,140 afterthought. 768 00:43:35,140 --> 00:43:39,620 Well, this is a guy who's, you know, 6'4, 250 and chiseled. 769 00:43:39,620 --> 00:43:45,980 I mean, any other time of, any other time we be talking about him is like as the top breakout 770 00:43:45,980 --> 00:43:52,420 guy, but it's just that he's in there with like three kind of freaks of nature with Jacob 771 00:43:52,420 --> 00:43:54,020 Oba and Braun Breaker. 772 00:43:54,020 --> 00:43:57,780 So it does give me, when you're mentioning, I was thinking of the shield, thinking of 773 00:43:57,780 --> 00:44:00,980 Ambrose, Rollins and, and, and Reigns. 774 00:44:00,980 --> 00:44:05,980 And I remember us doing a four way talk about where those three guys were going to be 775 00:44:05,980 --> 00:44:07,460 in a decade. 776 00:44:07,460 --> 00:44:10,660 And then I even, that time I threw a break wide into the mix. 777 00:44:10,660 --> 00:44:15,220 So I thought, break was kind of a very charismatic guy that I didn't know where to go. 778 00:44:15,220 --> 00:44:19,660 You go back to Sino Orden, Batissa, you got to throw a Brock into the mix because Brock 779 00:44:19,660 --> 00:44:23,540 wasn't that far ahead of them really coming out of OVW. 780 00:44:23,540 --> 00:44:30,620 So there is these like weird quartets we get every decade or so that the company kind 781 00:44:30,620 --> 00:44:36,380 of goes, yep, these are our pillars that we're going to build the next decade off of. 782 00:44:36,380 --> 00:44:39,780 And typically when they get classes like this, they don't miss. 783 00:44:39,780 --> 00:44:45,300 So I think those four are really the pillars that you can build the next decade out of. 784 00:44:45,300 --> 00:44:46,700 Yeah, it's cool. 785 00:44:46,700 --> 00:44:47,700 It's exciting. 786 00:44:47,700 --> 00:44:50,500 You could kind of see where things are going right now. 787 00:44:50,500 --> 00:44:54,580 I think the only thing that will eventually hold this back potentially is the current crop. 788 00:44:54,580 --> 00:45:00,580 The Reigns, Rollins, punks of the world, the Cody Rhodes, Gunther's, like they're not ready 789 00:45:00,580 --> 00:45:03,060 to kind of give up the mantle right now. 790 00:45:03,060 --> 00:45:07,420 And these three to four guys really need to take it. 791 00:45:07,420 --> 00:45:12,540 But you're seeing a wave where they're developing new talent. 792 00:45:12,540 --> 00:45:13,820 Talent that's on the rise here. 793 00:45:13,820 --> 00:45:19,820 And what's exciting from the WWE standpoints that Oba Braun and Trick Williams are all WWE 794 00:45:19,820 --> 00:45:20,820 products. 795 00:45:20,820 --> 00:45:21,820 These are guys that started in the PC. 796 00:45:21,820 --> 00:45:22,820 They were signed. 797 00:45:22,820 --> 00:45:24,100 Some of them in the NIL stuff. 798 00:45:24,100 --> 00:45:27,020 I think maybe all three of the NIL stuff. 799 00:45:27,020 --> 00:45:30,260 And then had no wrestling background previously, even though Braun Breaker comes from the 800 00:45:30,260 --> 00:45:34,820 Steiner family, they were not professional wrestlers beforehand, developed by WWE and they've 801 00:45:34,820 --> 00:45:36,580 been successful. 802 00:45:36,580 --> 00:45:42,460 They are one of the small few that are when it comes to the non-restler standpoint that 803 00:45:42,460 --> 00:45:46,820 have been successful because there's been plenty of folks who have not made it that did 804 00:45:46,820 --> 00:45:50,740 not have wrestling backgrounds previously and came from NIL deals or worked in the WWE 805 00:45:50,740 --> 00:45:51,740 PC. 806 00:45:51,740 --> 00:45:55,220 So I think that's pretty cool from a WWE standpoint to see that they can develop their own 807 00:45:55,220 --> 00:45:59,060 homegrown stars and they are able to do it in a relatively short amount of time. 808 00:45:59,060 --> 00:46:05,500 Like Braun Breaker, I think maybe five years, Oba Femi, she's two to three years, Trick Williams. 809 00:46:05,500 --> 00:46:08,660 He's been like five years, he was on that launch of NXT 2.0. 810 00:46:08,660 --> 00:46:10,740 Fought 2 is the only one that's really from the outside, right? 811 00:46:10,740 --> 00:46:12,220 I mean, he worked in D's. 812 00:46:12,220 --> 00:46:18,940 He was an MLW World Champion and he's just kind of taken to the way that WWE does things. 813 00:46:18,940 --> 00:46:23,580 And the crowd loves him, the WWE Creative Loves him and it's exciting. 814 00:46:23,580 --> 00:46:30,220 And Oba Braun fought to match today, I think would be kind of a dream match in a way. 815 00:46:30,220 --> 00:46:37,540 So the more that these guys continue to positively go in their career, the more likely that we see some of these 816 00:46:37,540 --> 00:46:39,220 dream matches come to fruition. 817 00:46:39,220 --> 00:46:46,300 And it's healthy, it's a healthy thing for WWE to see these guys up on the up and up in roller-sale entertainment. 818 00:46:46,300 --> 00:46:52,260 Switching over to the AW side of things after trade, they obviously have a lot of folks that are some homegrown stars or 819 00:46:52,260 --> 00:46:57,980 folks that they've brought into their company that have developed very well, like the 8th current AW World Champion, 820 00:46:57,980 --> 00:47:02,700 Darby Allen, the current challenger for that championship at Double or Nothing, MJF. 821 00:47:02,700 --> 00:47:08,140 One that seems to be on a slow burn right now is the current TNT champion, Kevin Knight, 822 00:47:08,140 --> 00:47:11,780 who had a background over in New Japan Pro Wrestling Prior to coming to AEW. 823 00:47:11,780 --> 00:47:14,620 Where do you think this slow burn push is going, Dr. Trey? 824 00:47:14,620 --> 00:47:16,580 Because I think they're trying really hard. 825 00:47:16,580 --> 00:47:17,860 I like Kevin Knight a lot. 826 00:47:17,860 --> 00:47:20,820 I think he is a phenomenal in-ring worker. 827 00:47:20,820 --> 00:47:22,700 I like the tag team he has with Jet Speed. 828 00:47:22,700 --> 00:47:26,740 His microphone work, I think needs a little bit of work, but he has a ton of charisma. 829 00:47:26,740 --> 00:47:28,620 Character's certainly there. 830 00:47:28,620 --> 00:47:33,060 I think he's getting closer and closer to being coming more of like this cocky arrogant heel at some point. 831 00:47:33,060 --> 00:47:38,860 I just foresee him turning on speedball here sooner rather than later. 832 00:47:38,860 --> 00:47:44,860 But it's been like this slow burn and I'm not necessarily sure if the audience, while they respect and 833 00:47:44,860 --> 00:47:50,700 appreciate it and admire his in-ring work, is fully on board with him yet as a potential top star. 834 00:47:50,700 --> 00:47:52,660 I think AEW wants to make him top star. 835 00:47:52,660 --> 00:47:56,940 There's certainly testing those waters, but I'm not sure if the connection is there quite yet. 836 00:47:56,940 --> 00:48:02,100 Similar to what we're seeing in WWE with the likes of Oba Family Braun Breaker, Jacob Fattu, 837 00:48:02,100 --> 00:48:04,780 and Trick Williams as we just discuss, what are your thoughts? 838 00:48:04,780 --> 00:48:07,100 Where is this slow burn push going for Kevin Knight? 839 00:48:07,100 --> 00:48:13,140 It reminds me of the same conversation we had about nine months ago about Kyle Fletcher. 840 00:48:13,140 --> 00:48:15,660 Like, he has all the tools. 841 00:48:15,660 --> 00:48:17,540 Just needs a little more seasoning. 842 00:48:17,540 --> 00:48:23,740 Like I can see Kevin Knight, the way you portrayed him as being like this cocky, and he could be their answer to Trick Williams. 843 00:48:23,740 --> 00:48:28,220 Just, he has the in-ring charisma of Javan Evans. 844 00:48:28,220 --> 00:48:32,500 He just needs a little bit more seasoning on Mike's skills. 845 00:48:32,500 --> 00:48:34,980 But he has what you want. 846 00:48:34,980 --> 00:48:35,940 He has all the tools. 847 00:48:35,940 --> 00:48:37,980 It's just about putting it all together. 848 00:48:37,980 --> 00:48:42,940 And like I said, it's just kind of the conversation we had about Kyle Fletcher last year, where I was like, 849 00:48:42,940 --> 00:48:47,500 yeah, in rework, fantastic, persona, fantastic. 850 00:48:47,500 --> 00:48:49,020 Knees a little work on the mic. 851 00:48:49,020 --> 00:48:51,060 Knees a little work on the seasoning there. 852 00:48:51,060 --> 00:48:59,300 And maybe that might be the Achilles of AEW is like they don't outside of MJF, 853 00:48:59,300 --> 00:49:03,340 and Samoa Joe mocks to a degree. 854 00:49:03,340 --> 00:49:08,500 Not a ton of great promo guys in AEW. 855 00:49:08,500 --> 00:49:17,060 But the more repetition you get, and then having, you know, having, obviously having Jericho back in the mix while. 856 00:49:17,060 --> 00:49:20,860 But that's kind of where I always feel like they're lacking a little bit just on their promo skills. 857 00:49:20,860 --> 00:49:27,700 But, no, I think Kevin Knight, you know, he's a little bit smaller than maybe I'd like to build, but that's an AEW thing. 858 00:49:27,700 --> 00:49:33,980 I mean, hell, our AEW world champion right now, my 19 year old outweighs him. 859 00:49:33,980 --> 00:49:36,900 Actually, my 19 year old is bigger than Darby Allen. 860 00:49:36,900 --> 00:49:44,660 So, I mean, my son, my 19 year old, six foot one, 185 pounds by nature, that's bigger than Darby Allen. 861 00:49:44,660 --> 00:49:50,100 So I think for what AEW does, he's the right fit. 862 00:49:50,100 --> 00:50:02,140 I don't know how successful that a Kevin Knight would be in a WWE system, where they still value 6-1 to 20, a little bit more than AEW. 863 00:50:02,140 --> 00:50:06,860 I don't think Kevin Knight would be a crazy successful in WWE. 864 00:50:06,860 --> 00:50:09,060 I don't think he's a main event level talent in WWE. 865 00:50:09,060 --> 00:50:10,820 I don't think he's a world champion in WWE. 866 00:50:10,820 --> 00:50:14,260 I think he could be someone that could, you know, spend a little bit of time in NXT. 867 00:50:14,260 --> 00:50:16,540 I mean, WWE, by the way, was looking to sign him. 868 00:50:16,540 --> 00:50:19,220 He was talking to them in AEW. 869 00:50:19,220 --> 00:50:21,860 I think he would be, have a run as NXT champion. 870 00:50:21,860 --> 00:50:27,860 And then getting him to the main roster, it would be concerning if he would follow the likes of, say, Carmelo Anthony. 871 00:50:27,860 --> 00:50:34,900 Or excuse me, Carmelo Hayes, who was one of the best in-ring guys in NXT in the last 10 years. 872 00:50:34,900 --> 00:50:38,660 Had high hopes for Carmelo Hayes, was drafted in the first round. 873 00:50:38,660 --> 00:50:40,100 It did not play in well. 874 00:50:40,100 --> 00:50:44,140 Like, that's where I think I could see him go, Dr. Trey, similar to Carmelo Hayes in WWE. 875 00:50:44,140 --> 00:50:49,660 >> Yeah, and not to mention, like a lot of the guys we love, Carmelo Hayes, Ilya Draganov. 876 00:50:49,660 --> 00:50:56,180 A lot of these guys who are maybe a little bit on the small side, they kind of get lost in the shuffle on the main roster. 877 00:50:56,180 --> 00:51:00,660 When you're competing with the OBAs, the Brock, the Romans, the Gunthers. 878 00:51:00,660 --> 00:51:03,420 Just the guys who just have sheer size differential. 879 00:51:03,420 --> 00:51:10,220 Like, I think the main roster does play to size a little bit more than maybe NXT does or AEW does. 880 00:51:10,220 --> 00:51:14,820 So, yeah, like if they had signed him, yeah, he would have been in the same Javon Evans level. 881 00:51:14,820 --> 00:51:17,460 We're like, yeah, he could be a top guy in NXT. 882 00:51:17,460 --> 00:51:19,940 He could get featured on the main roster. 883 00:51:19,940 --> 00:51:26,060 But I don't know, you just have to be super special to be undersized in the World Champion. 884 00:51:26,060 --> 00:51:30,220 >> WWE, it's what, punk and Rey Mysterio and Eddie. 885 00:51:30,220 --> 00:51:31,460 >> Day and a brine. 886 00:51:31,460 --> 00:51:33,660 >> Day and a brine, too. 887 00:51:33,660 --> 00:51:41,060 >> Yeah, you got to be just next level to overcome those obstacles to actually get a run as champion in WWE. 888 00:51:41,060 --> 00:51:45,220 >> Yeah, so there we go, a lot of the young guys both in WWE and 889 00:51:45,220 --> 00:51:47,340 AEW that are getting pretty decent pushes right now. 890 00:51:47,340 --> 00:51:52,380 We'll see where all of that pans out now in the next six to 12 months for both companies. 891 00:51:52,380 --> 00:51:58,700 Exciting month here for professional wrestling next weekend is AEW double or 892 00:51:58,700 --> 00:51:59,500 nothing weekend. 893 00:51:59,500 --> 00:52:02,380 It's WWE Saturday night's main event in two weeks. 894 00:52:02,380 --> 00:52:04,300 It's WWE clash in Paris. 895 00:52:04,300 -->
