- 0:20[SPEAKER_02]: Hey everybody, welcome to episode 51 of new on music.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_02]: No, I'm just kidding.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_02]: It's just turning it through a little little little little little thing there to make you go way the second.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_02]: It's actually cheesy popcorn.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_01]: That was clever.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_02]: I thought it was.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_02]: I'm your coach, Chris Miles, along with my good buddy.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_01]: And of our here, co-hosts, you know, cross from
- 0:40[SPEAKER_01]: Chris Miles and we got an etiquette and etiquette tip today from somebody we both know oh Did somebody tell you to stop talking over me?
- 0:50[SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, good.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_01]: Well, no wait a minute.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_01]: She said both.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, she she said We need to listen to each other more and allow each other to speak.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_02]: What guy does that?
- 1:05[SPEAKER_01]: And you know no guy, but I
- 1:09[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_02]: So that critique has been uploaded into my brain.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_02]: I know I can let you speak.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_02]: It's it's all about you letting me speak, but we'll see how this goes.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_02]: Episode 51.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to talk about our favorite classic TV shows.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_02]: I think the best way to define this is a TV show from like, let's say like 2010 and backwards or even older.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm going way back because I don't think anything from, if I were to be fair, I don't think anything from 2000.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_02]: I say 2000 and backwards would be classic TV.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, obviously there's like stuff that like, well locally we have a TV channel called Meet TV, I'm not sure it's bits available everywhere, but I don't know.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_02]: That has like classic classes.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's like
- 2:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I was a call me TV radio.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't think it was called me TV radio or media.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_01]: They advertise all the old shows No, plus they play all the old really really old good music.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, you'd be good on there, by the way I don't think they have these.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think they have DJs.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_01]: They do but they're very minimal
- 2:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I was gonna say every very minimal.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_02]: They're talking about nothing that is anything you do with anything, and they just give you updates, and news updates, and whether and traffic, and that's great stuff.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_01]: They cut in every once in a while with stuff, but mostly they do 30 minutes at a crack, kind of stuff.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, just music.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_02]: A former program director that I worked under in a more of like a,
- 2:49[SPEAKER_02]: Internship type role.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_02]: I think he was the one that helped get that off the ground.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_01]: Which isn't it?
- 2:56[SPEAKER_01]: Wickel Dell was involved in that a lot.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_01]: If you remember Wickel Dell.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_02]: Zander, I don't know.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_02]: I only know him asander because that's what his radio name was But he was a program director for that station for a little bit as well to Rick got it off the ground, but I think Zander was the one who kind of
- 3:14[SPEAKER_02]: After I don't know if Rick just got it off the ground and then he was done or I don't know the whole story behind it And honestly, we're not here to talk about radio.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_02]: We're here to talk about TV shows good point and movies and things of that nature So speak into that.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_02]: We're gonna give you reviews of by any means Which is in theaters right now and then May day Which is exclusively on Apple TV
- 3:38[SPEAKER_02]: But as we always do every single week, we talk about the films that are coming out this weekend, so without further ado, let us do that.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_02]: Coming out first, and I've said this, so I've seen this preview for this movie at least 12 times.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_02]: On, you know, when you go, you turn your TV on and it goes to that screen where it asks you like the home screen and it goes, hey, pick this, do this, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,
- 4:08[SPEAKER_02]: really not to see this movie.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_02]: And then I hear in the background, oh, we do practical magic too comes off this week.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, I think we had enough with practical magic one.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe it's just me.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_02]: Of course, the cast of usual suspects comes back, uh, Sandra Bullock Nicole
- 4:33[SPEAKER_02]: and the magic and the mayhem that ensues there.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_01]: So, I mean, from an nostalgia point, there's the part of the story for this one, is there's some kind of issue that they now have to revert back to their magical powers to fix, correct?
- 4:50[SPEAKER_01]: I think, and it's for a granddaughter or something.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_02]: I thought it was, could be their granddaddy, but I thought it was like, I know that they were like their kids are involved, like I said, I've only watched the family thing now.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_02]: I've only watched the preview like once, and I just went, oh my god, because I was forced to watch practical magic.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, she's like, oh, you need to watch this.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_02]: And if you don't like this, then we can't date.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, wait a, like, set the, the bar.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_02]: Like, what if I think this is a dumb movie?
- 5:25[SPEAKER_02]: I enjoyed practical magic one.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was a fun movie.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_02]: It was a fun movie.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if I'm gonna like this movie.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_02]: I, everything I've seen.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'm hoping that the info could get back together with Keith Urban.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_02]: I highly doubt that's gonna happen because I believe now.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_02]: I would believe in magic if that happened Wow, look I see what you did there wait a wait a reference 11 spoonful was that it?
- 5:47[SPEAKER_01]: It's only that I think it though.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, you're the user would leave and mad do we didn't need the rendition Really?
- 5:53[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, please thank you.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so that's practical magic to the next one is the uprising Yes, and this one into that one this one also believe it or not
- 6:05[SPEAKER_02]: you really are not taking your critique to heart right now.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_01]: I am.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_02]: No, you're not.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_02]: You're interjecting.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just saying I could do the uprising.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_01]: I have a whole thing on it.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I'm sure you could, but it hasn't come out yet.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_02]: I know.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_01]: I think I'm saying I could talk about the preview.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, well, then go ahead.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_02]: Since you finally prepared extra stuff and then I'm trying to get some points.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_01]: So the uprising and this sounds actually interesting.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_01]: It does.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's based on true effects, which I love, you know, true facts, like there's untrue effects.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_02]: There's a by-paw green grass, are you listening to an arman?
- 6:44[SPEAKER_01]: that arise in theaters of September 7th, September 10th, the movie tells the true story of the 1381 peasants revolt in England.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_01]: And if you remember the movie history of the world, when Harvey Corman says to Mount Brooks, sir, the peasants are revolting.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_01]: And Mount Brooks says, he said it, they think on ice.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_01]: Great line.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, that's the store Andrew Garfield.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_01]: We know Andrew Garfield stars as a form of farmer name plowman And how do we know Andrew Garfield?
- 7:17[SPEAKER_02]: Spider-Man.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, okay, and why would you have an armored name plowman?
- 7:22[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like perfect.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think it's called spider-man.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_02]: Was it spider-man?
- 7:26[SPEAKER_02]: No, it's called the amazing spider-man
- 7:28[SPEAKER_01]: yeah well he's not always amazing uh the poor citizen's face heavy taxes and cruel laws from king Richard II plowman builds an army of every day people to fight for freedom sound familiar 1776
- 7:49[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, kind of like our story except way back 100 years earlier, well, it's not like people didn't revolt against kings way back when well, of course they didn't And it's not like 1776 wasn't a revolt against the king as well exactly.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_01]: It was King George not King Richard, but still George Richard, you're all the same wow Anyway, that looks interesting.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_01]: I love you know, I like period pieces, so
- 8:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think you're going to be disappointed that one though.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know why I think you are why would you say that I would say use the F word again because that's why because I have been feeling I have a feeling it's going to be upgraded for me They do that.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going I'm going to write a letter 12 and you write a very strongly stated letter You might want to go with chat GP chat GP T and write that letter.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_01]: No, I don't do it that way I don't use other I don't use AI to say my words
- 8:38[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so that's my you could go to the next one which I believe, believe it or not, I have here will be runner.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_02]: Well, since you've prepared so much, why don't you go ahead and let me have a break for one.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_02]: No, you go.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_02]: Because it took 51 episodes before you finally decided to go, oh, you know, I'll be back and forth on this, which is something I said, but before we started this whole thing, like you should review, you should talk about one movie.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_02]: I should talk about another one and go back and forth through that.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_02]: But it's always been me up until now.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_02]: So clearly, you've been listening to things.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_02]: So I could go one or two ways.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_02]: It could either be the
- 9:14[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and I feel like I don't feel like I feel like I should do don't look back in anger more and you should do runner I wanted to do Well runner
- 9:27[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I saw the previous for runner and I looked it up.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_01]: I know it's, uh, I'm not a big, big fan of Owens Owens Wilson.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not a huge fan of his.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it's also Allen Rich.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I know, but I'm not a big fan of Owens Wilson.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_01]: I really only liked him in wedding crushers.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_01]: That's really the only movie I've ever liked him in.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of like them a little bit in the series with the Avenger with the God of Mayhem Loki.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of like them in that.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't think I would, but I did.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_01]: He's not somebody that I see him, his name on a movie and I want to run and go see it.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_01]: I'd rather go see the historical one.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I mean, he doesn't really have movies that make you go, ooh, Owen Wilson.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_02]: Like he has, he's got bit parts in a couple of movies where he actually did really well.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_02]: But for the most part, when he's like the main runner, which is, see what I did there, which is, I didn't even plan that.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, which is why he's always kind of more known.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_02]: Like he doesn't have a lot of starring roles.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_02]: He's usually not the lead.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_02]: No, he's usually a sidekick or a supporting actor.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_02]: Even in Hall Pass.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_01]: for that matter he was coming in wedding crashes while he was more theoretically he was the supposedly be the second banana but Vince Vaughn kind of pulled back a little bit.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah well he was also supposed to be he was more so the lead in hall pass than he then I didn't see hall pass.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_02]: And the guy from who's the guy from the soccer show that's on Apple right now that's real.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_02]: Oh Ted Lassel showed.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah Ted Lassel but who's the actor I can't think of his name right now.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_01]: Okay now we're
- 11:03[SPEAKER_01]: We're going good to just now.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_01]: Now, you know, we're going to hear from somebody.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, no, we're not because, you know, we have a very powerful situation here in front of us.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_02]: Jason, how is he his wrong name, is it Ecas?
- 11:15[SPEAKER_01]: So these are the Sinecas Sinecas Sinecas Sinecas Sinecas Sinecas to be able to my let's call the whole thing off.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_02]: All right, so that's that's runner in a nutshell, um, and no, that's in it, though.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, well, put it in.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_02]: But if they're running, they're running.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_02]: And there's two males in it.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and there's nuts.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and there's nuts.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_02]: So there we go.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_02]: I went to the running nuts.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_02]: I went to the run fair.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_02]: I went to the run fair this weekend.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_02]: And we went and we bought nuts from into the wet fair.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_02]: Renn fair.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_02]: The run on fair.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_01]: Those people will know what the, it just sounds like you went to fair with little birds.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_02]: That would be run, run, run.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_02]: It's pronounced exactly the same.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_02]: Run, run, you said, run.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_02]: Renaissance fair for those who need to be a particular and need to be very, very explicit of about what they are explicit about what they say.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_02]: And critique every single word that comes out everybody's mouth.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_02]: I'm on, anyway.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_01]: I just think you need to clarify some things for our list.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_02]: The Renaissance fair.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_02]: fair in Bristol, Wisconsin, but it is still.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_02]: Is that better?
- 12:18[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, they got a guy who sells nuts there.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_02]: And they're candy nuts.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_02]: And they come in like a little corn like candy.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, but she clearly knows nuts.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, it was it she had two and a half men, but not a character.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_02]: Pick a female name and it's been featured on two and a half man.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_02]: Come on.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, so they were in that little cone-shaped package or whatever and he's like, don't drop your nuts and I wanted to be, I totally did not say this, but I wanted to be and I'd be like, but they're already in a sack, but I didn't.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_02]: So anyway, there you go.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_02]: That's it for the runner.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_02]: Now, why am I the one that's going to be talking about, don't look back and anger?
- 13:01[SPEAKER_02]: Well, here's the thing.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_02]: I grew up in the time for him when these guys were huge.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_02]: Who is this band?
- 13:06[SPEAKER_02]: They're called the Wasis.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_02]: Oasis.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_02]: Oasis.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_02]: They were huge in like the late in the mid to late 90s.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_02]: I never heard early 2000s.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_02]: Of course you didn't, because you weren't into alternative music back.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_02]: They were one of the hottest bands.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_02]: They broke up because the Gallagher brothers could not agree.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_02]: I had a big fight as a huge fight.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_02]: And they came back after like 25 years.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_02]: I think of being away from each other 15 or 15 years.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_02]: That's right.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_01]: And they decided you did your research.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_02]: No over 20 years first join first join interviews in over 20 years I was closer than you interviewed.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_01]: But they were they were mad at each other for 15
- 13:47[SPEAKER_02]: correct, but they did not appear together in anything for 20 years.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_01]: But they got back together after 15.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe they were right in the side or anywhere together.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_01]: But they were reconciled.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_02]: But if you're going to tell the story, tell the story.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_02]: Because that's really the point.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_02]: The point is that they did not appear together anywhere for 20 years, which is where
- 14:06[SPEAKER_02]: Oasis comes from Oasis was the two brothers.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_02]: They didn't appear together.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_02]: That means Oasis was nowhere to be found, and it wasn't going to happen.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_02]: And it kind of like led Zeppelin getting back together.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to put them in the same boat because they're not, but your generation would have been all the way.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_02]: We will live up and come back together.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_02]: Our generation.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_02]: My generation.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_02]: Let Zeppelin.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_02]: My generation.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_02]: Listen here.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_02]: your part I put you in that generation you're the same age as my dad and my dad would have been fine of Led Zeppelin broke up maybe maybe not necessarily you but representatives of your generation I'm sure we're into rock and roll music baby boomers freaking work with me here.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_02]: I am try baby boomers exactly the boomers
- 14:48[SPEAKER_02]: like Led Zeppelin, not all of them, but for the most part, that whole late 60s or early 70s were open real revolution was a big thing.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_02]: Mitch Michaels would back me on this.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_02]: So anyway, Oasis was a big ban from the alternative era.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_02]: And they had some great songs.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_02]: Don't look back in anger was one of them.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_02]: Wonderwall was another one.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, I mean, they never,
- 15:14[SPEAKER_02]: They didn't have like major major hits, but the songs that they did have, they spoke to the kids of the time.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_02]: And that's really what the says.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_02]: So the movie, basically, is bits and pieces from the live show from last year, from 2025.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_02]: And it's a lot of these bands are doing like this whole, let's show you the concert, let's show you behind the scenes, there's footage,
- 15:38[SPEAKER_02]: from interviews and backstage, access, rehearsals and all that kind of stuff.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_02]: It's just another celebration.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_02]: It's more of an nostalgia kind of thing.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_02]: And then call it a rock you memory, if you will, except for it's the real people, the real members of the band are in it.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know,
- 15:57[SPEAKER_02]: It's their solo, there's the sold out world tour from like last year, 2025.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_01]: So that's what it is.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_02]: It's not going to be in theaters very long.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think it will, because it's a very niche show, if you will.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_02]: But it's about celebrating the reunion of Oasis, which for those of us that were an alternative music and that kind of stuff is a really big thing, because
- 16:21[SPEAKER_02]: We didn't think these brothers were ever going to agree on anything and you go see that I'm not going to go see that because honestly I don't want to watch that with a bunch of other people around that's one of those movies that I'd rather watch But myself I'd rather watch at home with the comfort of people who I know appreciate Oasis because I feel like let's three people
- 16:42[SPEAKER_02]: to you.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_02]: I know more than three people who appreciate Oasis.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_02]: I just, this is one of those that like, I feel would be cool like on a night when you just want to have music in the background and things of that nature and you want to listen to live music.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_02]: That's why I'm saying I don't think it's, I don't think it's worth seeing in the theaters because I think a big majority of this is going to be clips from that show.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't ever say like they're where they're from like it doesn't say they're going to be exclusively recorded from New York or anything like that.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_02]: So I feel like they're just going to it's going to be a hotspot of different performances from different shows but who knows?
- 17:16[SPEAKER_02]: Will I see it?
- 17:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, eventually, probably when I either decide to go out and buy it, I do buy movies, yes, or you know, when it's on some sort of streaming service or whatever, but
- 17:27[SPEAKER_02]: I'm surprised because I thought, I really thought you were going somewhere else with movies.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_02]: I thought because of your love for Standard Bullock and for Nicole Kidman, I thought you would be like, let's do prequel to magic too.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm surprised.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_02]: I'm surprised.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_01]: I did not think the opera would be able to go see it as a date night thing because it's one of the few movies coming out that you could actually, you know, that my wife would go see as you know.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_01]: By the way, shout out to Tino last week as review of Spider-Man was excellent.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_01]: We gave him, if you didn't hear the show last week, Tino called in, right, we were closing up the show and we told him he had less than a minute and he said, got it.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_01]: And he ran right into it, concise, right on the money, didn't give anything away, had a really good review, gave it a 9.9, right, and had some great things to say about you and the process.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_01]: Again, we want to thank his mom and dad for letting him come on our show.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's awesome that they allow that.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_01]: He's such a crazy kid.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_02]: Words from his dad exclusively, though, major props to Victoria, because she's the one that's allowing him to do it, it's her day with him and so Victoria, thank you very much.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_02]: But of course, you know, thank both of you as well for giving your child the opportunity to be able to voice his opinion when he probably would not be able to do that on such a large platform.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_01]: He's going into hopefully intermediate acting next at Bam Theater over in West Montseau, trying to get him into that class.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_02]: Not the same teacher.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_01]: I hope not.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_01]: Nothing.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I just didn't think he taught the fundamentals, you know, from you and I or theater background people.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_01]: They're certain fundamental that you want to get out there first.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the first thing I was taught when I started taking theater was the whole concept of you have to reach the person in the last row.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_01]: And then everything is mic nowadays, but that's the concept should still be there in your head, in my opinion, if you're going to do theater, or if you're going to teach theater.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_01]: I'm done.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_02]: Are you sure?
- 19:43[SPEAKER_02]: You're positive.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_02]: 100%.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_02]: all right.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_02]: So we had two different movies to go see this weekend or that we decided to see.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_02]: You saw by any means and I saw Mayday.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_02]: So what do you what's your takeaway from by any means?
- 20:01[SPEAKER_01]: Well, Mark Wahlberg, I know you don't care for him, but I like him.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_01]: First of all, the movies based on true events.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_01]: Again, I like movies that are based on true things.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_01]: What did I say last week?
- 20:16[SPEAKER_01]: I said, and I quote myself.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_01]: This movie looks like a cross between Mississippi burning.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_01]: If you haven't seen that, go see it or get it somewhere and see it.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_01]: And a time to kill with Matthew McConaughey.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_01]: Similar story lines.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_01]: This is like the child of those two movies.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, this movie starts with
- 20:42[SPEAKER_01]: a little synopsis of what happens, what happened in Mississippi burning and how they were able to solve that particular crime.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_01]: And again, it's based on true event, so I liked it.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_01]: The cinematography was excellent, really good cinematography, music, excellent.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_01]: All of the auxiliary parts of this movie,
- 21:09[SPEAKER_01]: worked really, really well.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_01]: There was no point in this movie where I said, oh, that shouldn't be there or the lighting was bad or the camera was doing a crazy move or something.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_01]: It was all done really, really well.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_01]: Aside from Walberg, well, yeah, aside from Walberg, I'm going to say this
- 21:31[SPEAKER_01]: who's the other lead character in this movie, he was great, he was just, he was his emotional acting and his human side of his acting.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_01]: I thought we're excellent.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_01]: I could see him getting a nod, at least a golden globe of not an Oscar for this.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's Mark Wahlberg, so
- 21:57[SPEAKER_01]: graphic violence part of it.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, of course it is, but it's Mark Wahlberg and you kind of expect that.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_01]: What was a little disappointing to me was it has Josh Lucas who's a terrific actor.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_01]: You might remember him from Sweet Home Alabama on a bunch of other movies and David Strait Harm.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_01]: Who's a fabulous actor as well.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_01]: He's an older guy, but he's a really good actor and they're hardly in it.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_01]: They're hardly in the movie, which I thought, and maybe that's because it's factual, that maybe they really weren't involved in a lot of what actually happened.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_01]: But to have these two guys in, they're, and use them so minisculey, I thought was kind of a throw away.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_01]: What it does do, in my opinion, it really shows,
- 22:48[SPEAKER_01]: It shows that a lot of what happened way back then hasn't changed a lot, unfortunately.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_01]: Just sometimes it's just a different group of people, because that's what the story is about.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_01]: How certain group of people were treated back then, especially when it came to criminal investigations.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_01]: So.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_01]: If you like factual movies, if you enjoyed Mississippi burning, if you've seen it, if you haven't, if you haven't seen Mississippi burning in the time to kill, I would suggest you see those first, and then go see this.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_01]: And this movie sort of tied those up in a ribbon for me.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_01]: I think and the first two, you know, it's Gene Hackman and Who's a guy that played Green Goblin now?
- 23:38[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna get hit by arm and again Who played Green Goblin in the Spider-Man?
- 23:45[SPEAKER_01]: really good actor is all over the place.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_01]: You find them.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, ties it all kind of nightsy together.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_01]: If you put those, that sort of like a nice little trilogy to watch.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_02]: Our mind is shaking.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_01]: If you know, he's just, he's swearing at the speaker right now.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_01]: I should know this, darn it.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_01]: I know that I love this guy.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how you don't know this I know like of all the guys to talk about I don't know.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_01]: I can see his face clearly anybody can see his face is a very distinctive very distinct face very distinct voice
- 24:19[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how you william de foe william de foe the foe the foe the foe yeah anyway he was really good the both they're both both really good movies here so that's Mrs. Bernie by the way so you might want to go see those anyway that's my view I would give this movie I think because the again you know last week I said I think I think directors are starting to get way out of hand with gratuitous violent scenes just because they can do it now more
- 24:47[SPEAKER_01]: Except for that I would have given it a higher rating, but I'm going to give it an eighth.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_01]: I think this movie, and I love the fact that at the end of the movie, they give you actual facts about the actual facts.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_01]: So don't leave, you know, don't leave early because the movie fades to black.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_01]: There's some stuff you want to see at the very end.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_01]: A very interesting movie, very interesting.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_01]: That's my take.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_01]: And now it was zip it.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_01]: I just see Mayday, by the way, too.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not gonna say anything about it, except that I was starting watching it one night and thought, this is kinda dull.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_01]: And then I said, I gotta finish it now.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_01]: I finished it the next time.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_01]: For more, I picked it up to where it ended.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_01]: It got so much better.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_02]: sure you don't know.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_02]: He literally just like took the key and put it over his lips and then like threw it away like he wasn't going to talk.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_02]: So what's the over-under on how long it's going to take him before he says something or I'm going to say something that's going to make him want to say something.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_02]: So my review was for a movie called Mayday.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_02]: It is for now at least only
- 25:58[SPEAKER_02]: It got an 84 to 86% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if you're like me, but I like to look at Rotten Tomatoes in the reviews.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_02]: Only because there are some people who on Rotten Tomatoes really just like to rip things apart.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_02]: And I feel like you just get a real, like, no holes barred.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_02]: This is what I feel about the movie review kind of thing.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_02]: the first question is, is it worth watching?
- 26:23[SPEAKER_02]: Here's the thing.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_02]: If you grew up in the 80s and you enjoy like buddy cop movies and like AV intermoves from the 80s, I'm looking at you top gun, then you're going to enjoy this movie because that's exactly what it is.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_02]: Now the cool thing is, and I didn't realize this until
- 26:39[SPEAKER_02]: Until I watch the actual preview, I normally don't watch previews for movies and stuff like that.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_02]: I try to stay away from them only because I want to have my own view of my own opinion on things.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_02]: But when I realized that one of my favorite actors from like the early 2000s was in it.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, oh man, I wonder how this is going to work out.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_02]: Because you've got like an older actor with a younger actor and by that I'm talking about of course Kenneth Brana Who plays alongside round Reynolds in this now of course those of you that are very familiar with Ron retto's in Deadpool You're probably gonna look at this and be like yeah.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_02]: I've seen him do this before but let me remind you This is the way actors do things now.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_02]: They they have a thing they do
- 27:24[SPEAKER_02]: And then they try to create movies around it and that's it gone are the days where the actor and I shouldn't say gone Very limited are the days where the actor is more of a method of an act method actor as opposed to well This is what I can do.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_02]: I'm looking at Tom Cruise exclusively on that one now Of course the critics are gonna pan it.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_02]: They feel like the plot is kind of formulaic and you know Ryan Reynolds plays his usual witty self, but it's very very cool very widely celebrated
- 27:52[SPEAKER_02]: It's a very beautifully shot, and it's fun, and it shows that a movie that is released exclusively for streaming can still be filmed in a blockbuster sort of way.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_02]: Of course, it starts off with a huge homage to Top Gun.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going to give any more away than that, but that's kind of the plot.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_02]: Ryan Reynolds plays a basically abandoned for lack of a better term.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_02]: It's really not what happens.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_02]: He gets shot down during a mission and he's kind of left out in the middle of nowhere.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_02]: Kenneth Bronos, character Nick Ostemov basically finds him.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_02]: He's kind of like an exclusive nomadic, ruck loose kind of former KBI agent who actually
- 28:36[SPEAKER_02]: secretly enjoys the United States and all the things that we have.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_02]: So they kind of buddy up together and Nick tries to save Ryan Reynolds, whose character name in this movie of course, is Troy Assassin Kelly.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_02]: So there's even more so like a nod to Top Gun.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_02]: The whole first 10 minutes of the movie was literally like I felt like I was watching Top Gun.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_02]: So in that sense, I can see why people were like, I've seen this before.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_02]: But you know what you didn't have the chemistry between like ran Reynolds and Kenneth Browner, which I thought worked really well I thought they played off very well The jokes you know some of them were waiting some of them were kind of like and a growners and that kind of stuff
- 29:16[SPEAKER_02]: over all it's a fun movie don't expect too much out of it because you're not going to get a whole lot out of it.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_02]: It's not critically acclaimed but you know a lot of audience members are say it's an awesome buddy comedy and that's why it's rated as highly as it is just on rotten tomatoes you know 84 or 80 or 6 percent.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_02]: And so because of that, I'm going to give it like a six and a half, because I enjoyed it.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_02]: Would I watch it again?
- 29:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, probably, because I always like to watch movies at least twice.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_02]: The first time I watch it, I try to get the whole like story line and, okay, this is what's going on.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_02]: And then the second time, since I already know what's going on, I watch the outer edges of the film.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_02]: So I can pick up on cues that maybe I didn't see before, like here's the perfect example in lanterns episode two, and I reviewed that a couple of weeks ago.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_02]: One of the scenes is filmed in like this old abandoned office building slash warehouse, if you will.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_02]: And the way they have the sunlight coming through, there's like this yellow amberish glow to the room.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_02]: And I said, oh, the guys that are in this room are yellow lanterns.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry, that's a spoiler alert.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_02]: But just using, you know, that outer area of the shot.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_02]: That's where you can find a lot of clues, a lot of unspoken clues in the way.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_02]: Is there is many worth watching?
- 30:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, for sure.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_02]: It's worth watching.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_02]: If you have Apple Plus, if you don't go out of your way for it, hopefully it becomes available somewhere else as well too.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_02]: But I'm not so sure.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_02]: I think Ryan's got some sort of contract going on with Apple TV.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_02]: What was that movie that we reviewed for Christmas time that he was in that both you and I like enjoyed and we were kind of like oh, that's actually not a bad movie Yeah, I can't think of it off top of my head You remember it over there sir By any chance way shape or form I may but I was asked to not speak and I just referenced you which means you get a chance to speak now
- 31:17[SPEAKER_01]: Ryan Reynolds, a Christmas time he hasn't been spared it.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_01]: That's what it is, spared it.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that wasn't bad.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it wasn't bad.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't fine.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_01]: But it wasn't bad.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm done now.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_02]: No, okay.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_02]: Why don't you talk about your favorite classic TV show.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_01]: Are we there?
- 31:32[SPEAKER_02]: We're there because I just finished my review.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_02]: What you didn't give it a rating six point six wake or six point five wake up.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe if you weren't on your phone.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_01]: Wait, what did you say, you only gave it a 6.6, I mean, it was in a half.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_01]: I like I said the first part of it, I didn't, wasn't thrilling, but then it got better, didn't you think?
- 31:53[SPEAKER_01]: It got better, but it wasn't new to me.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I mean, yeah, you could take any movie and see something was done similar 30 years ago.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_01]: True, but like,
- 32:07[SPEAKER_02]: I like the chemistry between the two of them.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_02]: And I spoke, see how if you were off of your phone and actually listening to what I say, this was part of the critique.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_02]: You would have heard me say that their buddy chemistry worked very well together.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_02]: OK.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_02]: I mentioned Kenneth Brana and Ryan Reynolds and they actually have chemistry.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_02]: And they worked really well together.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_02]: I mentioned the fact that the first five minutes of the movie was like pretty much top-gun.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_02]: In a different sense, right?
- 32:32[SPEAKER_02]: You could clearly tell that whoever wrote this,
- 32:35[SPEAKER_02]: was like I've seen top gun and I'm gonna like add this in.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_02]: Of course, they said it back into the Cold War era, you know, I don't know if I believe some of the factual things that they tried to put up on the screen about things.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was more of a fantasy movie than anything else.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_01]: And that's why I enjoyed like I said the first 20 minutes.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, I'm done.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_01]: And then I said, oh, and I got to watch the rest because I told Chris, I was going to watch it.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_01]: And then I got interested in it and I was like, I was like, one-thirty in the morning, I was still up.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_02]: Like I said, I'm not saying it doesn't work.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just saying for me it was a six and a half because I was like, eh, it's okay.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's not, you know, it was my family has to rate, but if I had to rate it, I'd probably give it more like a seven and a half.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_01]: There you go.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, I probably watch it again, but down the road, not right away.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, classic TV.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_01]: have a list of classic TV without I love Lucie.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_01]: No more.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_01]: That's, I mean, you just can't.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_01]: Red Skeleton?
- 33:45[SPEAKER_01]: My mother didn't speak a word of English.
- 33:48[SPEAKER_01]: Never learned English.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_01]: Watch Red Skeleton every Tuesday night, laugh their ass off.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_01]: We never understood why.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_01]: But every Tuesday my mom was sitting in front of the TV, watch Redskeleton and laugh her ass off.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_01]: And I know, for a fact, that she did not know what he was saying.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_01]: But that's the kind of performer he was.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_01]: It didn't matter.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_01]: He made her laugh.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_01]: And that to me, it's a sign of a really great entertainer.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_01]: Jackie Gleason, not,
- 34:21[SPEAKER_01]: Not quite the same as the Red Scalm, but still a really good variety show.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_01]: That's where the Honey Moon was started, which is my next on the list, the Honey Mooners.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_01]: Another great classic TV show that's been emulated and emulated and emulated and emulated over the years.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody can quite get it right.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_01]: But that was a Jackie Gleason skit on his show that turned into a regular TV show that was a big hit.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_01]: And then changing genres, gun smoke, I think maybe still the longest running TV show ever 21 years, I believe it ran.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_01]: And Bonanza, the three cart-right boys all living together in a house with no women around.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_01]: Makes you wonder, but that's what they had.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_01]: Mission impossible, the original mission impossible TV show.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_01]: was a great classic TV show that obviously let's all the movies with Tom Cruise and you cannot cannot have a top 10 list of classic TV shows without everybody's favorite, I believe, and that's Mr. McGill.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_02]: Wow, did you even break out of the sixties with any single TV show you talked about?
- 35:31[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think you did at all.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't because it's classic classic classic.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_01]: I went totally classic.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_01]: And now you could throw, you could throw other TV shows.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_01]: You could stop.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_01]: You're done.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_01]: Hand the Griffiths in there.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_02]: You're done.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_01]: You could throw make room for daddy.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_01]: You could throw.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_01]: You're done.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_02]: Even even the, and Sullivan show notice how he listens folks.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just saying there's so many more.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_01]: Here's the thing.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_01]: Television was great.
- 35:58[SPEAKER_01]: from the 50s to the mid-70s, it was great.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_01]: It was good from the mid-70s to about 2000.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_01]: And now it's to me, it's mediocre.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_01]: Let's meet.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, and it's when I'm compared to one more thing.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_01]: You go to wedding.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_01]: You go to wedding and the DJ plays a club song boom boom boom boom boom boom boom boom Boom, maybe four or five people are dancing we get the point maybe four or five people are dancing then he plays the twist
- 36:36[SPEAKER_01]: old young when a wheelchair with a cane doesn't matter, everyone's on the dance floor.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_01]: Not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not always, not
- 37:02[SPEAKER_02]: uh... two years ago i will tell you that that twisting doesn't always work in depends upon it depends upon the clientele that you have and what they listen to that song has bombed on me at least six times when it was thrown in with a variety set that was geared towards getting like the whole crowd up and everything like that
- 37:24[SPEAKER_02]: It's just one of those songs.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_02]: Now, if you play the Beatles twist and shout, you get a little one, but you get a little better response with that only because it's the Beatles twist by Chubby Checker.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_02]: That's kind of one of those.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, if you have an older older crowd, for sure, like back in, back in like the 90s when I was DJing,
- 37:47[SPEAKER_02]: absolutely for sure we would have played that.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_02]: But as we got into like the 2000s that song just it didn't hit like it used to twist and shout by the Beatles.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_01]: What I'm just saying is in analogy to what I just said about TV is the classic songs when they get played at weddings or bars
- 38:10[SPEAKER_01]: people relate to them more sweet Caroline.
- 38:13[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody sings to sweet Caroline.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody doesn't sing to don't look back in anger.
- 38:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's all I'm saying.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_02]: you can't even compare them.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_02]: They're not even the same category.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_01]: They're, I'm talking time, genre.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm talking about, you're not even comparing apples to apples.
- 38:32[SPEAKER_02]: You're comparing apples to oranges.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_02]: Sweet Caroline is a single long sign.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_02]: Don't look back.
- 38:38[SPEAKER_02]: Don't look back.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_02]: Don't look back.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_02]: And he was a pop song when it came out.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_02]: It was a pop song when it came out.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_01]: But it will diamond was a stop star when he came up.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_02]: You're comparing you're comparing apples to oranges.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_02]: You're don't look bad at saying the clans You don't even know you don't even know Don't ask you are supposed to stop and you don't I'll stop don't look back.
- 38:57[SPEAKER_02]: They're not even the same song.
- 38:58[SPEAKER_02]: You can't even compare them Don't look back in anger is a sad sad song So yeah, of course not everyone's gonna sing that why because it's a sad sad song
- 39:07[SPEAKER_02]: like it's really bad a lot of and and and if we're going to go that route yes Oasis did not have a lot of good fun songs they just were not a party band so you can't compare party music to non-party music that's not the same thing let's say
- 39:23[SPEAKER_02]: Now if you want to compare sweet Caroline to like American pie, yeah, there we go.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_02]: That's a better thing.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 39:31[SPEAKER_02]: I will tell you that American pie doesn't go over well at weddings.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_02]: It goes better at bars, because people can sing along to it.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_01]: Now if you did what I was at the wedding, doing a sing along song was American pie, everybody got up at the as a last song for sure.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_02]: You know why?
- 39:46[SPEAKER_02]: Because everyone just drunk off their ass at that.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_02]: Not everyone.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_01]: Not the lady with the money bag.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_02]: I highly doubted.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_01]: Not at our wedding.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_01]: That lady was sober and her name.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_02]: And how many weddings have you digit?
- 39:57[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_01]: One.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_02]: I have DJ over a hundred.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_01]: But I performed that many others.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't ask what you performed that.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_02]: I asked what you DJ to say there is a total difference between DJing and live bands that add and I might even get into that.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_01]: Your your your your shows.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_02]: No comparison.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_02]: That's whatever.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_02]: No you digress because this is supposed to be you learning how to like zip it.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_02]: Um, so you took a couple of mind that I would say have to be on classic for sure.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_02]: I agree with you, uh, Lucy, for sure.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_02]: The honey winters.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_02]: I don't agree with you on the Jackie Gleason variety show, but that's because I just didn't care for it.
- 40:39[SPEAKER_02]: I thought, but I, but I'll be fair and honest.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_02]: I was introduced to the
- 40:43[SPEAKER_02]: Money moaners before I was introduced to the Jackie Cleason show.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_02]: So that will be fair and honest with you about that.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_02]: I'm kind of surprised you didn't bring up like Father knows best, for example, or like even maybe adventures of Superman, which I loved as a kid.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_02]: And again, it's old classic TV, we're talking 1958, Superman.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_02]: 1952 to 1958, with George Reeves.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_02]: We're going through what I'm talking about.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 41:08[SPEAKER_02]: I'm also kind of surprised you didn't bring up drag net.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_02]: But, you know, if you move on from, like, the 60s, which is kind of pretty much where you stopped, there's a couple, I think there's a couple of extra shows in there that probably deserves some honorable mention.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_02]: I'm even more surprised that you did not bring up Gilligan's Island.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_02]: I'd that through me for a loop.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_02]: Now, Gilligan's Island is a fun show, but it's not a class.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_02]: It's a classic.
- 41:35[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 41:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it is.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_02]: You just, see, this is you.
- 41:41[SPEAKER_02]: That's fine.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_02]: You're entitled to your own opinion, whether it's right or not, is somebody else is always right.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_02]: No, it's not.
- 41:47[SPEAKER_02]: No, it's not and your own son is toes or you're not, but that's it.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_01]: It sounds a traitor.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_02]: The okay.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_02]: Way to way to kill your audience there.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_02]: That's good.
- 41:59[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I would, I would also argue that the Adams family and the monsters need to be included in a classic TV show type Zonra.
- 42:09[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I feel like the monsters is a little better than the Adams family, but they're both classic and iconic.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_02]: I would also throw in Batman.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_02]: Now, again, these are all shows that were on for me, like literally when I got off school.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_02]: So I would be watching like reruns.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_02]: I would also watch speaking of reruns.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_02]: I would also watch good times, no, not good times.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_02]: I did watch good times too, but I'm trying to think of the, man, the show that rerun was in.
- 42:34[SPEAKER_02]: What is it called?
- 42:35[SPEAKER_01]: What's happening?
- 42:35[SPEAKER_02]: What's happening?
- 42:36[SPEAKER_02]: That's it, thank you.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_02]: I thought that was a classic show, but a lot of people would be like, oh, no, it wasn't that great.
- 42:41[SPEAKER_02]: I'm also surprised you can bring up Columbo, because you love that.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_02]: To me, classic TV is also mash.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_02]: classic TV is also happy days.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, man, man, man, man, man, man, man, I would say Laverne and Shirley, the Jefferson's and three's company to bring us like big Jefferson's fan.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_02]: Nobody asked you.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_02]: Notice I didn't interject when you went through your list, but you have to interject when I go through mine.
- 43:04[SPEAKER_02]: So point taken about the critique that you need to bring in there.
- 43:09[SPEAKER_02]: And the reason why those three, the Jefferson's Laverno and Shirley and three's company are for me.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_02]: I think they were all on like right at the same time and they were on and a row.
- 43:18[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't know if that's because it was like a Marshall thing or whatnot.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_02]: No, it looks like Don Nickel created two of those shows and Marshall created the other one.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_01]: Gary Marshall.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I'm talking about Gary Marshall.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_02]: I think Taxi belongs to be on that list as well too.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_02]: I think cheers And nightwriter and Miami vice to get into like the 80s again I'm gonna go out on a limb here one of my favorite shows as a kid.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_02]: It didn't last very long And I was not happy with it.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_02]: It lasted like two seasons was sledgehammer
- 43:55[SPEAKER_02]: I absolutely love that show.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_02]: It was an adventure like police detective type TV show that start, start David Rashi and Marie Martin.
- 44:05[SPEAKER_02]: Like I said, it didn't last very long, but it was a great show.
- 44:07[SPEAKER_02]: And as a matter of fact, I think there was even a movie and I think they tried to revamp it not too long ago.
- 44:14[SPEAKER_02]: And then last but not least, and there are people that are going to hate me, but I don't care because well, there's two.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_02]: the wonder years people are probably not going to hate me for that.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_02]: But that was a great show which was set in the 60s even though it was in the 80s and the early 90s.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_02]: But classic TV and I'm sorry you're going to hate me and that's completely fine because you can cut it out full house.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not a big fan.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_02]: Again.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_02]: So, that's the episode folks, whether you agree with us or don't agree with us, there's some shows on the list for you to watch there as well, or maybe to completely bark about.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_02]: And, of course, if you were in a bark, go ahead and bark in a bark, bark away, because he seems to be the one that gets all the credits system anyways on the show.
- 45:01[SPEAKER_02]: So, again, thanks everybody for listening.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_02]: I got some good comments too, really, because you don't share them.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_02]: ego too big for it.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I wrote in myself, but there we go, exactly.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_02]: So there we go.
- 45:15[SPEAKER_02]: That is episode 51.
- 45:16[SPEAKER_02]: God.
- 45:16[SPEAKER_01]: No, as you'll say, if you're going to see any any by any means, see Mrs. Beberning and a time to kill first.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_01]: There's streaming somewhere.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, uh, so uprising for you.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_01]: We didn't, we didn't finish us.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_01]: We need to finish it.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_01]: So uprising for me.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, and honestly, I'm really not interested in any of these movies.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, you know what, I will probably go against my own word and probably end up seeing practical magic, because I'm sure there's going to be somebody that's going to want to drag me to go see that show this weekend.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, there we go.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_02]: I'll review practical magic in a
- 45:54[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I'm thinking that's going to get about a five.
- 45:57[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we'll see, we'll know.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_02]: All right, well, that's it for this show, folks.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_02]: Episode 51, we're over to Humm.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_01]: Only 49 away from 100 shows.
- 46:08[UNKNOWN]: Phew.
- 46:10[SPEAKER_01]: That's a lot of shows.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_02]: That's it.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_02]: That's all you got.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_02]: That's all we got.
- 46:15[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
- 46:15[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 46:15[SPEAKER_02]: Way to end the show.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_02]: So anti-climactically.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I just felt really old when I said, wow, and shows.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_02]: We do them weekly.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_02]: I know.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I don't know how we did.
- 46:20[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how we did.
- 46:20[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how we did.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how we did.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how we did.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how we did.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how we did.
- 46:24[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how we did.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how we did.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how we did.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how we did.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how we did.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how we did.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how we did.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how we did.
- 46:30[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how we did.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how we did.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how we did.
- 46:32[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how we did.
- 46:32[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how
- 46:33[SPEAKER_02]: It's coming up next episode, we'll of course give our reviews for the uprising in practical magic too, and we'll talk about our favorite cartoon show.
- 46:41[SPEAKER_02]: Ooh, I got a couple of those because unfortunately, you said it in one of cartoons, pretty much don't exist anymore.
- 46:46[SPEAKER_02]: TV cartoons.
- 46:48[SPEAKER_01]: Not like Roger Ram.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_02]: We are talking about TV show.
- 46:51[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, but yes, I guess we do need to be that descriptive.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_02]: for those, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna,
- 47:22[SPEAKER_02]: get the word out, and then we have a very special thing going on here.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_02]: We are raising money to get Tino on the show, to officially, officially replace now.
- 47:36[SPEAKER_01]: No, Tino is welcome.
- 47:37[SPEAKER_01]: Actually, Chris is doing his raising votes to get Tino on the show and get me off.
- 47:42[SPEAKER_01]: No, not.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_01]: So, if you want to vote for Tino, go on the comments page and vote for Tino.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see how many votes Tino gets to replace me.
- 47:51[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think you need to replace her.
- 47:52[SPEAKER_02]: I think you need to sit around the show a little bit more, but anyway That would be fun too.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_01]: It because he's gonna be on for doomsday.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_02]: It'd be cool Are you gonna take him to go see the end game remake?
- 48:03[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe maybe maybe that one then okay, but for doomsday we gotta have him in the in here for sure Yeah, we gotta do a whole episode just for that
- 48:11[SPEAKER_02]: and give them time to really really do it to all episode on doomsday.
- 48:14[SPEAKER_01]: I just said we're going to do a whole episode.
- 48:15[SPEAKER_01]: That was on a question.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, so now you're the host and I'm just nobody.
- 48:19[SPEAKER_02]: No, I didn't say them.
- 48:20[SPEAKER_02]: So the whole host.
- 48:22[SPEAKER_01]: So that means I, he too have to agree with it too.
- 48:25[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 48:26[SPEAKER_02]: See how that works.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, we'll try to get next week.
- 48:29[SPEAKER_02]: Folks again.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_02]: It's gonna be the topic We'll be our favorite cartoon TV shows of all time We'll give you a review of the uprising and private to go magic and of course talk about whatever movies are coming out next week That's the show for us until next time.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_02]: Save us some popcorn.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_01]: So the chickie's e-pop
